- 0:00Shocking information about silver.
- 0:02When you compare the price of staples, things like milk,
- 0:05bread, gasoline from the year 1955 through today and compare
- 0:12that to the price of silver, what it's done over those same
- 0:15periods, it's downright shocking.
- 0:17But even more shocking is when you consider right now, as we
- 0:22move into the next 50 years, the demand for silver from the solar
- 0:27industry alone. We're going to touch on both of
- 0:30those interesting topics with our good friend, the one and
- 0:34only Mr. Coin Shop. Chris, welcome to Ron's
- 0:37Basement. Well, Ron, it's always good back
- 0:40to be back in the basement. It's after Thanksgiving, Ron,
- 0:43it's Friday morning. Life is good.
- 0:45So let's get to it, my friend. Let's get to it.
- 0:48And let's remind everybody that's with us how much we
- 0:51appreciate them being here. Don't we appreciate everyone
- 0:53being here, Chris? Absolutely.
- 0:55We just need everybody to like, share and subscribe.
- 0:58We're trying to get to 30,000 by Christmas.
- 1:01Ron says by the, I'm saying by Christmas.
- 1:04Well, let's see who's right. Let's see we're both wrong.
- 1:08So if you can share this out to one person, we appreciate it.
- 1:11Thank you. Thank you very much.
- 1:16What our viewers, Chris, if they were around in 1955, what would
- 1:22they have experienced over the last number of years in terms of
- 1:25price for things like gas, milk, bread.
- 1:28But also is it super interesting when you compare those price
- 1:33increases to how much silver has gone up in value?
- 1:38Well, absolutely, Ryan. You know, I mean, I did a little
- 1:41bit of research here. You know, I went back to 1955.
- 1:45You know, and we would think these prices were awesome today,
- 1:49but really you think about it, some of these prices may have
- 1:52been high back in these time frames.
- 1:54For for instance Ron, you know I did it from 1955 to 2022 and I
- 2:00really did it in 20 year increments.
- 2:02So let's just start off for gas, Ron.
- 2:05Gas 1955 national average was $0.29.
- 2:10Seventy 1975 Which $0.57. 1995 was $1.15 for gas, 2015 was 243
- 2:20and 2022 when average was 395. I remember I remember 1995, a
- 2:26Nissan, brand new Nissan Pathfinder and I was shocked at
- 2:32how low gas mileage it got. But I remember filling up and
- 2:35and I was filling up his local gas station.
- 2:37It was a dollar a gallon, right? Price it, I thought.
- 2:40Well, it's not so bad gas. It's not going to kill me that
- 2:43bad. I got to pay a buck a gallon.
- 2:44Sorry, I interjected. What about milk?
- 2:46I never liked milk myself, Chris.
- 2:48But what? What did what did you learn
- 2:49about milk? We're all milk 1955, Yeah, then
- 2:53you might still have the milk man around at that time, but a
- 2:56gallon of milk was $0.93 a gallon in 1955.
- 3:01We're going to speed that up to 1975.
- 3:03Ron gallon milk was $1.50 seven 1995 when you were just starting
- 3:09driving Ron. Maybe a little bit younger than
- 3:13that, but milk was 248 a gallon. Average 2015 milk on up to 342
- 3:20on last year, 2022 average national price was four O 9 a
- 3:25gallon on. Wow.
- 3:27Wow, what about bread? Bread 195517 cents for generic
- 3:34white loaf 1975. We're going to get to $0.25.
- 3:40199575 cents a low 2015 180 three 2022 with 187 on.
- 3:52OK, so when I. Look at these numbers, 2022, I'm
- 3:55sorry, 2022. So when I look at these numbers,
- 3:58just roughly between 1955 and and 2022, it looks to me like
- 4:03gas went up now 12 or 13 times in price.
- 4:07Milk went up about four times in price.
- 4:11Bread went up about, oh, let's say 2020, no, 1010 times in
- 4:19price. So Silver, how did it fare
- 4:23during that during that time frame?
- 4:26All right, we're going to keep this in mind through 1955.
- 4:29Wrong. We were still using.
- 4:31They were still using 90% junk serving circulation.
- 4:36So in 1955 Ron an ounce of server with a cost $0.91.
- 4:41Just keep that in mind everybody, when I say $0.91 for
- 4:45a minute and 1975 server jumped up to 443 Ron in 1990 five,
- 4:53$5.20 two thousand and $1515.66 and 2022 average.
- 5:03Announced minus the premiums of course was 2176.
- 5:06It's a spot price only. So what this tell me Ron is you
- 5:12take everything, you take the other three items that we've had
- 5:16on this list, you need more dollars today then you needed
- 5:22the previous years. So if Grandpa Joe saved you $100
- 5:27in cash or you have $100 in cash.
- 5:31Silver is worth a heck a lot more value, and some people like
- 5:37to call it a worthless rock. Well, I disagree.
- 5:42Yeah. Yeah.
- 5:43Well, I mean, again, if you look at gas up 12 times, milk four
- 5:49times, bread went up 10 times, OK.
- 5:53But if I look at silver, it went up way more in value during that
- 5:58time period. It looks like to me probably,
- 6:00and I'm doing all this in my head, but at least probably 24
- 6:04times roughly in value. So you know, the value of each
- 6:10ounce of silver that you would have held in that time period
- 6:14far exceeded the the the increase in price that you would
- 6:20have experienced in any of those 3 categories, gas, milk or
- 6:23bread. First, Mining Gold is a
- 6:25development company advancing two of the largest gold projects
- 6:29in Canada, Spring Pole in Ontario and Duparque, located in
- 6:34Quebec. Each already has. 5 million
- 6:37ounces of gold reserves but. Exploration initiatives are
- 6:41underway at both projects to find even more gold.
- 6:46First, mining is well financed, has zero debt and owns an
- 6:50interest in four additional Canadian Gold development
- 6:54projects. You go back to 1955.
- 6:56Yes, 119 fifty. It was a heck of a lot of money
- 7:00Ron, back then, but would you rather have some of the saved
- 7:03U.S. dollar bill from 1955 or 100 oz silver?
- 7:09And you got it this Christmas, Ron.
- 7:11Whoever saved that for you? Which one would you rather have?
- 7:15Yeah, Yeah. Well, you know, Chris, another
- 7:18way. You know what I'd rather have?
- 7:20I love paper money. I just love stacking it up.
- 7:23I love the way the paper feels in my hands and the way it
- 7:26sounds when you rub it together. You know, I just love paper
- 7:30money. Another way to think about this
- 7:32is that in 1955, let's say you you had $100 bill.
- 7:39You could have gone to the grocery store and roughly bought
- 7:42yourself 100 gallons of milk, right?
- 7:46Or and had a had a big milk party.
- 7:49Or you could have taken that $100 bill and gone and bought
- 7:52yourself 100 ounces of silver, right?
- 7:56Today, that silver, that 100 oz would be worth 2400 U.S.
- 8:03dollars, right? And with that you could buy,
- 8:09what, 600 gallons of milk. Is that right?
- 8:13Yeah, 600 gallons of milk. Bingo.
- 8:17You got it. Yes, you're right.
- 8:21So maybe this is the video for people that you're trying to
- 8:24talk. Who drink a lot of milk?
- 8:25This is the video for people who drink too much milk that if
- 8:29Chris's grandpa, Chris's grandpa Chris like, just like Chris eats
- 8:33too many Ding dongs, Chris's grandpa drank too much milk.
- 8:36And if in 1955 that guy, instead of having bought that 100
- 8:40gallons of milk, he bought Chris 100 ounces of silver, today that
- 8:44same grandpa could have bought the 100 ounces of, I'm sorry,
- 8:48the 100 gallons of milk and had 500 ounces of silver.
- 8:52No, no, wait. Anyway, he'd have a bunch of
- 8:54silver leftover. He'd have, you know, 80 ounces
- 8:58of silver leftover. Absolutely.
- 9:01Well, my point make maybe this is the video for any of us, we
- 9:05have friends, relatives on the fence line about silver or gold.
- 9:11You know, we can do the same thing with gold.
- 9:13But we, you know, we talked about silver a lot here and
- 9:16maybe, you know, get this video up to them.
- 9:19It will kind of sink in then that, you know, dolls are going
- 9:24to the garbage can. And silver and gold are real
- 9:28money. I don't know else where to put
- 9:29it run. OK, I think you did a great job.
- 9:32So Chris, what do you say that we stop lingering in the past
- 9:37and move to the future for a few minutes?
- 9:39How would you feel about that? Well, absolutely.
- 9:42Let's do it. Let's go to let's go to the
- 9:44future. Let's just.
- 9:45I just want to get your opinion on one fascinating subject about
- 9:49Silver and the fact that right now, right now, as you and I are
- 9:54speaking right and and we have our viewer who's with us and
- 9:57again, we appreciate you being here.
- 9:58Please give this a thumbs up, leave a comment in the comment
- 10:01section below. We want to hear from you.
- 10:04Do you think Chris's analysis, my analysis of that 1955 to
- 10:09present day value comparison between Silver and and those 3
- 10:14staple items. Do you think that was accurate?
- 10:16Do you agree with it? Do you disagree with it?
- 10:18It's OK leave a comments OK our viewers, we appreciate you.
- 10:22We want to learn from you. We want to get to know you.
- 10:25But right now all three of us Ron Chris and you Mr. or misses
- 10:30viewer let's talk about right now.
- 10:32And the fact is that there is exploding demand for silver in a
- 10:39lot of areas, one of which which is critical and huge is the
- 10:44solar industry. The Silver Institute has
- 10:46predicted that this year 2023, the photovoltaic, which is a
- 10:51fancy way of saying solar industry, will consume 160
- 10:55million ounces of silver. Many people think the final
- 10:58number will be closer to 200 million ounces of silver.
- 11:03That is 20% of the world's annual production of silver,
- 11:07which is 1 billion oz. That's right now, OK.
- 11:11But what we're hearing is that this big COP 28, that's part of
- 11:16the United Nations, same place where the Paris Accords came
- 11:20from, that within the next four or five weeks we may have a
- 11:23declaration, a treaty basically amongst the world's most
- 11:26powerful nations, which will dictate that in the next six
- 11:31years the amount of current solar capacity in the world will
- 11:36be tripled. OK.
- 11:37And most of that, a big chunk of that would be solar.
- 11:41And on top of that, that the new generations of solar panels use
- 11:46up to or maybe even exceed 50% more silver per panel.
- 11:52So we're gonna have we already have exploding solar panels or
- 11:55may have even more of an explosion solar panels and the
- 11:59new solar panels use significantly more silver.
- 12:03Chris, what do you think about that?
- 12:05Well, I think this is a skyrocket first silver rock.
- 12:08I mean where are we going to find it?
- 12:10We don't have mines opening up, Ron.
- 12:12You know, as you know Ron, you talk to many, many different CE
- 12:16OS where it takes what, 10/15/20 years to build a mine out when
- 12:21you discover a new silver. And most silver, as you know,
- 12:24Ron, it's a byproduct. When they're searching for other
- 12:27metals like gold, like copper, where are we going to find it?
- 12:33That is why I'm glad and we all should be glad we have silver in
- 12:38our hands. We don't have Unicorn, that's
- 12:41Bitcoin, but we have real physical metal in our hands and
- 12:47just get back from it. What we just did, Ron, was going
- 12:50back in history with the prices. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:54Going future. This is why we've always said
- 12:57silver and gold a long time hold.
- 13:00You're not going to get rich overnight and and that just
- 13:04proves that point even further on.
- 13:06But going back to what you were saying on where we you're not,
- 13:09you're not, you're not answering the question correctly, but go
- 13:12ahead, Chris. Well, what?
- 13:15How do you want me answer it? I mean, yes, we can have
- 13:17explosive silver prices. I I really don't know how to
- 13:23answer that question, Ron. But you know, I mean, I'm
- 13:25thinking you did a great job. I was joking around with you.
- 13:29The the correct answer is next time you see a solar panel in
- 13:32your neighbor's yard or wherever you are, go up and give it a big
- 13:35hug. Because.
- 13:37Because they're they're our new friend.
- 13:40Well, if you want to climb up on someone's lad on someone's roof
- 13:42and give it a big hug going, my feet will stay on the ground, my
- 13:45friend. I do it all the time, Chris.
- 13:47My neighbors are used to it. My, my neighbors are used to it
- 13:52now. You did it.
- 13:52You did a great job, my friend. And did we already ask everyone
- 13:56who's with us right now to please subscribe to the channel?
- 13:59I want to remind everyone all this content is free.
- 14:03Coin Shop Chris joins us out of the kindness of his heart.
- 14:06If you want to support Coin Shop Chris, there's a link.
- 14:10I'll put a pin comment and a link in the description of this
- 14:14video with his PayPal address where if you want to support
- 14:18Coin Shop Chris for all the work that he puts in for Rons
- 14:21Basement and these videos, you can do that there.
- 14:24What about the deal of the Week? Everyone's waiting, right?
- 14:28This is a normal segment that we do on the channel where we
- 14:31compare apples to apples between the big online bullion dealers,
- 14:36the price for one product and Chris takes these prices at a
- 14:40specific time, it's always the same time and he always compares
- 14:44the cash cost or ACH cost for the products for buying just
- 14:52one. So Chris, what did you find this
- 14:54week? Well, I want to thank you.
- 14:56Before we get into that, I would like to thank you for the shout
- 14:59out and I would like to thank all your viewers for the
- 15:01support. It is tremendous support.
- 15:03You guys are awesome. So let's get right to it this
- 15:06we're basement dwellers. And we got mostly we got 99
- 15:11point 9.5% of them are good ones.
- 15:14So I'll leave it as that. So I mean, this week we do the
- 15:18Thanksgiving here in the state you're on, you know, everybody's
- 15:22schedule being messed up this week and so.
- 15:25We've been doing our video a little bit earlier than normal,
- 15:28but we took these, I took these prices are on on Thanksgiving
- 15:31night at six O 7:00 PM. So when you hear these prices
- 15:36and you go look these prices will differ from what we're
- 15:39advertising. So this week we're going to you
- 15:43had a mouthful. You had a mouthful of Turkey
- 15:45when you took these prizes, right buddy?
- 15:47I had a mouthful of Turkey and and a mouthful of pecan pie on
- 15:52for the ones in the South Pecan pie.
- 15:55So all right, we got 2023 Cougarrands.
- 16:00JM Bowen was $30.08. That was for one to 24 of them.
- 16:07At Max was 2942. Again the same 1 to 24 pricing
- 16:14SD Boeing was 2868. Again the same 1 to 24 price
- 16:19point. Hero Bowen.
- 16:21They were out, but they had a price.
- 16:23So where I'm going to give the price was 2826.
- 16:26They were out though but that with that place was also 1 to 24
- 16:31money metals did not have 20 threes in stock.
- 16:35So this is really not comparing apples to apples.
- 16:38They had random years 2946 again 1 to 24 price point shop I work
- 16:47for. We are currently out of them so
- 16:49I couldn't give a price there, but pin backs actually beats.
- 16:53That beats everybody out again at 2761.
- 16:57Again the same price 1 to 24 price point.
- 17:00So if you took JM bowling on and divided minus the price from to
- 17:08Max, you're going to save $2.47 on each one, or you do the Max
- 17:13at 24, you would say $57.28. Why are we shopping any?
- 17:19My question is, why? Are we really shopping anywhere
- 17:21else? Imbex has the best prices all
- 17:25the time, week after week. Why are we shopping at JM?
- 17:29Why are we shopping at SD? You want to pay more?
- 17:32Well then I guess you can. I guess you can help Ron and I
- 17:36out and throw some money on our PayPal accounts.
- 17:38But you know you got money to toss and trash can.
- 17:42This is trying to do Ron, you know this, Ron, we just want to
- 17:46help your viewers save money and your sponsor is trying to help
- 17:50people to save money at the best prices.
- 17:53I gotta get Pimbex a shout out every week.
- 17:56You guys are awesome. Thank you.
- 17:57Now I'll be quiet. Thank you.
- 17:59You're OK. I'm, I apologize for speaking
- 18:01over. Yes.
- 18:02Pimbex Pi, MB, EX online bullying dealer.
- 18:06They are a sponsor of my channel.
- 18:08I am a customer of theirs. I was before we took them on as
- 18:13a sponsor and I learned about it from our viewers.
- 18:17Chris, you know, people kept telling me, check out this
- 18:20company, Pimbex. You know, I dug in.
- 18:23I trust them. I trust them now even much more
- 18:27that I've dealt with them and and executed several
- 18:30transactions with them. And you're right, you know, You
- 18:33know, I want to make sure I trust who I'm dealing with.
- 18:35But to me, I want to get the most silver for my dollars.
- 18:39And I think what you just demonstrated today with this
- 18:41example is if you're going to buy, let's say, a whole tube of
- 18:46Krugerrands, you could save enough money to buy yourself
- 18:51that are near pretty much another couple ounces of silver.
- 18:54So why not get the tube of Kruger ants and two more coins
- 18:58on top of it is like Chris said, if you don't want the 2 coins,
- 19:01you can send them to us. We'll take them.
- 19:05Well, and even you know, people don't know some Kruger ants can
- 19:13rolls of of 25 S if you actually hop it. 2 rolls of 25.
- 19:19Hit the 20th, you asked. You're going to get them at a
- 19:21cheaper price and that is cross the board with every online deal
- 19:25they have a better price. But at the end of the day when
- 19:28him back here wins, that price .2 sounds good.
- 19:31What about the 30 day numbers? What's been going on in the
- 19:34markets over the last 30 days? 30 day numbers Now again these
- 19:39prices will be different from. When you everybody hears this.
- 19:43I took these numbers on Thanksgiving night once again at
- 19:465:31 PM. So yes, everybody we were we
- 19:50were all working behind the scenes trying to get this video
- 19:52out for you. The past 30 days.
- 19:55Silver was actually up 55 cents or 2.37% though was up.
- 20:02Not much. Zero 8% actually make a.
- 20:11That one was at $17.20 or up 1.90% Bitcoin.
- 20:16As you remember Ron, we were saying 8000 Bitcoin is still up,
- 20:21but not as up as much. They're only up 4150 forty 8 or
- 20:26up 12.54%. Oil still down, which is a good
- 20:31thing, down to $9.14 a barrel or down 10.69%.
- 20:40So there's your 30 day numbers on.
- 20:44I'm still watching oil. Keep an eye on Bitcoin, because
- 20:46that's starting to fall a little bit here and the metals are
- 20:49still going up a little bit. Sounds good.
- 20:53Sounds like we're moving in the right direction.
- 20:55And I know as we're recording this on Friday morning, last I
- 20:58checked Gold was on the spot market.
- 21:02Right at $2000 per oz. So as we move into this next 30
- 21:08days, head towards Christmas, what we're rooting for is a new
- 21:13all time high and the gold price.
- 21:14And we know Silver's got a lot of catching up to do and when it
- 21:18catches up, it typically catches up in very dramatic fashion.
- 21:22Chris, I want to say thank you on behalf of all of our viewers
- 21:26for the time that you've given us today.
- 21:29You're generous, you're entertaining and you provided
- 21:32everyone with a great amount of data.
- 21:35And so thank you and we'll look forward to seeing you next week.
- 21:40Maybe next week you will wear your tie for me.
- 21:43Clip on time. You got it buddy.
- 21:47Thank you. All right.
- 21:49See you. Bye, Bye.
