- 2:38Speaker 2: almost never ended over two and a half hours, thanks
- 2:42Speaker 2: again to SEC officials who called forty five personal fouls

- 5:10Speaker 2: well good luck getting well. Good luck to Brian Anderson
- 5:15Speaker 2: from maintaining that Zoo. This is an amazing statistic. There
- 5:24Speaker 2: are only twenty two high major scholarship players who will
- 5:30Speaker 2: celebrate Senior Night this week, having played at one school,
- 5:38Speaker 2: Mississippi State. Sean Jones is the only SEC senior to
- 5:45Speaker 2: finish where he started. There are ten in the Big Ten,
- 5:50Speaker 2: five in the Big Twelve, three in the Big East,
- 5:54Speaker 2: three in the ACC, and Sean Jones Junior is the
- 5:59Speaker 2: only player in the SEC that started that is finishing
- 6:03Speaker 2: where he started as a senior.

- 6:54Speaker 5: In?
- 6:54Speaker 2: MEC has found its lead play by play voice as

- 7:35Speaker 2: him out of his contract early to take the new deal.
- 7:41Speaker 2: He's expected to be a lead candidate at NBC throughout again.
- 7:48Speaker 2: He will be calling Sunday Night Baseball. I Miss John
- 7:54Speaker 2: and Joe on Sunday Night Baseball. Man now Ron has
- 8:01Speaker 2: affected golf, and you know that's the important thing. Ahead
- 8:05Speaker 2: of this week's Live a Bit in Hong Kong, several
- 8:09Speaker 2: of the players were stuck in Dubai as flights have
- 8:14Speaker 2: been canceled and airports closed due to the war in
- 8:18Speaker 2: the Middle East. Caleb Surat told the Golf Channel, it
- 8:24Speaker 2: was terrifying. Since then, it's been okay. It was a
- 8:28Speaker 2: bad Sunday and Monday here with missile interceptions. According to
- 8:33Speaker 2: golf dot Com, John Ram came to the network. He
- 8:37Speaker 2: considered flying the players to London, but Rom offered a
- 8:41Speaker 2: private flight out of Oman, which has a direct.
- 8:45Speaker 1: Route to Hong Kong.
- 8:48Speaker 2: Ram said, do whatever you have to do, but get
- 8:51Speaker 2: them out of their airspace opened in Oman's capital, and
- 8:57Speaker 2: the group made a two hundred and eighty mile drive
- 9:01Speaker 2: from Dubai, loaded their bags and clubs onto a bus
- 9:06Speaker 2: headed to the plane arranged by Rom through a private
- 9:12Speaker 2: aviation company. And the Dallas Stars, who have won ten straight,
- 9:18Speaker 2: have boosted the back end of their defense, acquiring veteran
- 9:22Speaker 2: defenseman Tyler Myers from Vancouver. The tradeline is coming up.
- 9:28Speaker 2: The Canucks received a second round pick in the twenty
- 9:32Speaker 2: twenty seven draft and a fourth rounder in twenty twenty nine,
- 9:36Speaker 2: while also retaining half of Meyer's remaining contract reduced his
- 9:41Speaker 2: salary cap hit as one goal in eight points in
- 9:45Speaker 2: fifty seven games. Held out of action this week for
- 9:49Speaker 2: roster management anticipation of a trade. The six to eight
- 9:55Speaker 2: defender brings a physical presence, which is what the Stars need.
- 10:02Speaker 2: Odd Dee fits they are currently second in the Western
- 10:07Speaker 2: Conference with that ten game wedding streak. All right, we're
- 10:12Speaker 2: going to take a break. We're going to come back.
- 10:14Speaker 2: I'm going to visit with Steve Denton. We're going to

- 11:21Speaker 2: All right, we're gonna go out to the players FUD
- 11:23Speaker 2: Center phone line to Gainesville, Florida, home of the Gators,
- 11:27Speaker 2: this swamp a visit with min's tennis coach Steve Denton. Steve,
- 11:32Speaker 2: you guys are getting ready for a Friday match. We'll
- 11:35Speaker 2: talk more about this in a minute, but I'm looking
- 11:38Speaker 2: at the schedule the people at the SEC that's not
- 11:42Speaker 2: like you very much.
- 11:43Speaker 1: You've got four straight away matches.
- 11:47Speaker 9: Yeah, four straight and also a lot of really really
- 11:52Speaker 9: good teams as well. Yeah, we're gonna have to pick
- 11:56Speaker 9: it up a little bit. Unfortunately, on Friday we had
- 12:02Speaker 9: a rough one against Georgia. You know, we were up
- 12:04Speaker 9: three to one and and Colo Montsi didn't get to play,
- 12:08Speaker 9: hurt himself in the doubles and Obviously that didn't help.
- 12:11Speaker 9: But still we had to figure out a way to
- 12:13Speaker 9: win that match, and I had chances to win it.
- 12:16Speaker 9: I think Togan Tocatch was up or two in the
- 12:19Speaker 9: third set of his match and we were seven five,
- 12:24Speaker 9: four to three on another court. Yep, you know, we
- 12:26Speaker 9: didn't win either one of those matches, and uh, you know,
- 12:30Speaker 9: it was a tough one for us. And now because
- 12:32Speaker 9: of that, you know, we're gonna have to, uh, we're
- 12:36Speaker 9: gonna have to toughen up here a little bit and
- 12:38Speaker 9: play against some of these really good teams a little
- 12:40Speaker 9: bit shorthanded.
- 12:41Speaker 2: So did that match and the way you lost and
- 12:45Speaker 2: how difficult it was carry over to Sunday.
- 12:50Speaker 9: Well, I mean, you know you would think not, but
- 12:54Speaker 9: obviously it was a pretty tough blow to you know,
- 12:58Speaker 9: lose both the match and had have chances of winning,
- 13:02Speaker 9: and then obviously losing a player too. Yeah, that was
- 13:07Speaker 9: one of our hottest players. You know, We've been kind
- 13:10Speaker 9: of struggling getting to four and he was one of
- 13:13Speaker 9: the big pieces of the puzzle that was winning significantly. Yeah,
- 13:18Speaker 9: you know, and that ended up, you know, being our
- 13:21Speaker 9: downfall because we we did come back. We were, as
- 13:24Speaker 9: I said, we were we lost the doubles point or sorry,
- 13:30Speaker 9: we won the doubles point.
- 13:31Speaker 4: Yes, and then we.
- 13:32Speaker 9: Could only win two singles matches and we had a
- 13:34Speaker 9: couple more that we could have won that we couldn't
- 13:37Speaker 9: quite get over the finish line. And ultimately, you know,
- 13:40Speaker 9: with a good Georgia team, that was the difference.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Yeah, let's talk a little bit about the Vanderbilt match.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Then a couple of days later. I mean, you played
- 13:51Speaker 2: two really difficult close matches.
- 13:54Speaker 9: We did, we were we didn't play very well in
- 13:58Speaker 9: the doubles. That's probably one of our our forest doubles
- 14:01Speaker 9: performances of the season, though you guys do so far. Yeah,
- 14:06Speaker 9: but we just didn't play well on Sunday against Vanderbilt
- 14:09Speaker 9: for whatever reason. I don't have the answer to that,
- 14:13Speaker 9: but I guess some of these guys got up on
- 14:15Speaker 9: the wrong side of the bed. But uh, but we
- 14:19Speaker 9: ended up losing the doubles point, and then to our credit,
- 14:22Speaker 9: you know, our guys stepped up and and we got
- 14:24Speaker 9: ahead again in that match. I think we were maybe
- 14:27Speaker 9: up three two with two matches left on the court,
- 14:31Speaker 9: and uh, again kind of the same situation. You know,
- 14:36Speaker 9: we couldn't get one of those matches to turn our
- 14:38Speaker 9: way and ended up making it a rough weekend for
- 14:41Speaker 9: us and kind of put us in a little bit
- 14:43Speaker 9: of a spot. And that with Alcolo and now the
- 14:50Speaker 9: beast of a schedule that we've got, you know, this
- 14:53Speaker 9: weekend against a very good Florida team and then even
- 14:56Speaker 9: a probably better team of South Carolina on Sunday, maybe
- 14:59Speaker 9: flo or to last week five too. So play those
- 15:03Speaker 9: two on the road, and then we've got four of
- 15:05Speaker 9: our toughest matches of the season, you know, a couple
- 15:09Speaker 9: of them at home, a couple of them away. Uh,
- 15:12Speaker 9: you know, with Texas in maybe number one or two,
- 15:16Speaker 9: Ohio States kind of similar, LSU in the top seven
- 15:21Speaker 9: or eight, and then uh, Mississippi State maybe top five.
- 15:25Speaker 9: So we've got a lot of tough matches coming up,
- 15:27Speaker 9: and we've just got to figure out a way to
- 15:30Speaker 9: you know, write the ship here and be able to
- 15:33Speaker 9: come through with a tough win on the road and
- 15:35Speaker 9: then try to gain me gain some momentum again.
- 15:38Speaker 2: So what are are you like still experimenting with with
- 15:44Speaker 2: Moncis because of Bonci's injury in terms of who will
- 15:49Speaker 2: be for you.
- 15:50Speaker 9: We'll have to pit. Yeah, we're gonna have to pivot there.
- 15:53Speaker 9: We'll likely play Alex Arcina and Lath and Scobarsik together
- 15:58Speaker 9: in doubles, and then we're gonna we had tried to
- 16:02Speaker 9: start him out in doubles early in the season. We
- 16:05Speaker 9: were going to probably put Marcus Molder back in with
- 16:09Speaker 9: with Iago Prez, who had played a couple of times
- 16:13Speaker 9: early early in the season. Then he played Davids Cup
- 16:16Speaker 9: for his country at last, and when he came back,
- 16:20Speaker 9: you know, for a week or two, I just thought
- 16:22Speaker 9: it was a big physical challenge for him to have
- 16:25Speaker 9: to play both singles and doubles, and so I left
- 16:28Speaker 9: him out of the doubles for a couple of weeks.
- 16:31Speaker 9: And now it looks like we're going to need to
- 16:34Speaker 9: probably throw him back in there and see what he
- 16:36Speaker 9: and I and Chiago can do.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Has been playing really well for you, he.
- 16:41Speaker 9: Has, He's played well. He's been one of our our
- 16:44Speaker 9: more solid points. Obviously THEO with acception of this last weekend,
- 16:50Speaker 9: he had a little bit of a tough match against
- 16:53Speaker 9: a very good, uh you know transfer that came into
- 16:57Speaker 9: Georgia that's a little bit older than him, a little
- 17:00Speaker 9: more experience than him, and played a good match and
- 17:04Speaker 9: he had a chance to win the first set tiebreaker yep,
- 17:07Speaker 9: then didn't win that tiebreaker, and then the other other
- 17:11Speaker 9: boy was able to really kind of step it up
- 17:14Speaker 9: in the third set, our second set to close him out.
- 17:18Speaker 9: But it was one of the first matches that he
- 17:24Speaker 9: struggled in or didn't win here in quite a while.
- 17:28Speaker 9: He's really had a very good first part of the
- 17:30Speaker 9: season as our number one player.
- 17:33Speaker 2: You guys have played here and it's been in the eighties.
- 17:38Speaker 2: I'm assuming the weather as you expect to be similar
- 17:41Speaker 2: on Friday in Gainesville.
- 17:44Speaker 9: Yeah, it's going to be hot in humid here. It's
- 17:46Speaker 9: going to be eighty six and yep, you know, pretty
- 17:48Speaker 9: high humidity, and it was pretty hot actually on Sunday,
- 17:53Speaker 9: and then yesterday when we practiced was still pretty warm.
- 17:57Speaker 9: So it's comparable temperature here. So yeah, it shouldn't be
- 18:02Speaker 9: too big of a of a change for us. So,
- 18:07Speaker 9: you know, I think we'll be acclimated to it. We'll
- 18:10Speaker 9: just see if we can, you know, get off their
- 18:13Speaker 9: good start here this weekend and see what we can
- 18:16Speaker 9: do against the Gays.
- 18:17Speaker 2: All right, Hey, Steve, I appreciate you make in a
- 18:20Speaker 2: few minutes for us. I know you're traveling, You've got
- 18:22Speaker 2: a lot going on. We'll talk next week and best
- 18:26Speaker 2: luck this weekend.
- 18:27Speaker 9: Okay, well, thanks so much, ship, you have.
- 18:29Speaker 4: A great week.

- 19:06Speaker 1: That's me.
- 19:07Speaker 2: UH. Steve Denton joins us on Wednesday, and again he
- 19:10Speaker 2: was just getting off the plane from Gainesville. I appreciate
- 19:14Speaker 2: him making time and we will visit with him next Wednesday.
- 19:17Speaker 2: On the program, UH, as we mentioned off the top
- 19:22Speaker 2: Aggie basketball with a big win last night, let's uh.
- 19:26Speaker 2: Let's hear a little bit from UH post game from
- 19:29Speaker 2: the head coach Bucky after the Aggies win over the Wildcats,
- 19:38Speaker 2: man the great.
- 19:39Speaker 11: Win by our guys. We uh, you know, we kind
- 19:41Speaker 11: of had to have it. We knew that how a thought.
- 19:45Speaker 11: You've heard me in here here challenging our guards a man.
- 19:47Speaker 12: They got to really step it up and play with
- 19:50Speaker 12: more reckless abandon. I told our team, I want to
- 19:52Speaker 12: get off thirty to forty threes to I think we
- 19:53Speaker 12: got off twenty nine in the game or twenty eight,
- 19:57Speaker 12: And you know that's what busted the game open when
- 19:59Speaker 12: rub Ryland got loose in the first half.
- 20:02Speaker 11: We are what we are. We're shooting team.
- 20:04Speaker 12: We got to stay with it, even through the ups
- 20:06Speaker 12: and downs of it and even through the ups and
- 20:08Speaker 12: downs of a season, and it was good to see
- 20:09Speaker 12: us break out of that and we're making shots we
- 20:11Speaker 12: can probably beat about anybody.
- 20:13Speaker 11: Defense was good. I had a gap in that first half.
- 20:16Speaker 12: I thought we really leaned on them at a time,
- 20:18Speaker 12: and our guys got loose, and that was probably the
- 20:20Speaker 12: separator in the game. Which we had closed the game better,
- 20:23Speaker 12: which we didn't close it great. They made some tough shots,
- 20:26Speaker 12: had some tough calls, and then we we just could
- 20:30Speaker 12: have done it seems a little bit better there, But overall,
- 20:32Speaker 12: I gotta be really happy with our guys because I
- 20:34Speaker 12: thought they won their matchups in a lot of those
- 20:36Speaker 12: spots and that was good to see. And we're sitting
- 20:39Speaker 12: here and I'll say this, we got a I mentioned
- 20:42Speaker 12: this to our team. You know, I respect so much
- 20:45Speaker 12: the tradition the players have come before here at A
- 20:48Speaker 12: and M. And I've got to know some of the
- 20:50Speaker 12: players off last year's team, and you know that they
- 20:54Speaker 12: were talking about We talked to them about just it.
- 20:56Speaker 11: Was a great year. They brought back a lot of
- 20:58Speaker 11: guys and how tough this league is.
- 21:00Speaker 12: And I think last year with a great team, they
- 21:04Speaker 12: went through this league play and went eleven to seven
- 21:06Speaker 12: in the league. And that was a group of guys
- 21:09Speaker 12: that have been here a while. That is a hard
- 21:12Speaker 12: thing to do in this league. It's a hard thing
- 21:14Speaker 12: to do. And we didn't want to fall off with
- 21:19Speaker 12: this group, even though they're all new guys. And so
- 21:22Speaker 12: you know, we've been getting text from these guys all
- 21:24Speaker 12: year long supporting us. And I said the same deal.
- 21:26Speaker 12: Let's you know, if we could get these last two
- 21:28Speaker 12: and we can go to A to LSU and we
- 21:32Speaker 12: come away with eleven SEC wins in this tough league.
- 21:35Speaker 12: That would be a heck of an accomplishment, and that
- 21:37Speaker 12: would kind of keep carrying on what some of these
- 21:40Speaker 12: teams have done before we got here, to kind of
- 21:42Speaker 12: set the table for this group, even though they're all new,
- 21:45Speaker 12: set the table for this group. So we want to
- 21:47Speaker 12: keep it going and get to that LSU game and
- 21:49Speaker 12: play really well and close the season off right.
- 21:51Speaker 11: Look, did you see.
- 21:52Speaker 4: Any game or earlier or anything, any indications that would
- 21:55Speaker 4: have told you that Ruben was.
- 21:58Speaker 11: Going to break out of it the way you need
- 21:59Speaker 11: to be.
- 22:02Speaker 12: You know, I had a guy in town, a buddy
- 22:04Speaker 12: of mine who coaches a lot of international basketball. He coaches,
- 22:07Speaker 12: coached the Redeemed team. He was an assistant coach on
- 22:11Speaker 12: that team. He was in town, he knows. Ruby was
- 22:12Speaker 12: talking to him, and it's funny. He's actually staying at
- 22:15Speaker 12: my house here the past couple of days, and he
- 22:18Speaker 12: told me where it was about to go off in
- 22:20Speaker 12: this game.
- 22:22Speaker 11: He told me that he called it, and he said,
- 22:23Speaker 11: I'm just telling you.
- 22:24Speaker 12: I had a little talk with him, you know, and
- 22:26Speaker 12: I was telling you, I feel that he's about to
- 22:28Speaker 12: go off, all right, Tony we'll see, And I actually
- 22:31Speaker 12: told him, he goes off, you can do the media,
- 22:33Speaker 12: so I might.
- 22:33Speaker 11: As well bring him in here on under the media.
- 22:35Speaker 12: But other than that, you know, I don't know what
- 22:37Speaker 12: night it's going to be for a shooter to go off.
- 22:39Speaker 12: He came out there, he passed up on some threes,
- 22:41Speaker 12: and I pulled him aside that if you don't get
- 22:43Speaker 12: out there and get four or five threes off this half,
- 22:45Speaker 12: you're not going back in the game again the rest
- 22:47Speaker 12: of the game. And I thought that freed him up
- 22:49Speaker 12: a little bit to not worry about making or missing it.
- 22:51Speaker 12: Like I got to get some threes off, and that
- 22:54Speaker 12: was that was a separate in the game.
- 22:56Speaker 9: What do you think defensively on that twenty seven to
- 22:59Speaker 9: two run was working for you?
- 23:00Speaker 2: Guys?
- 23:02Speaker 11: Just stay with what we do.
- 23:04Speaker 12: Like what we do in totality, it generates offense and
- 23:10Speaker 12: gets the game going. Trying to lean on those guys
- 23:12Speaker 12: as much as we can. We used a deep bench,
- 23:16Speaker 12: and I just thought there was a part there where
- 23:18Speaker 12: we had some of our guys in there that were
- 23:19Speaker 12: pretty fresh and they had some foul trouble there. They
- 23:23Speaker 12: couldn't sub as much and they had some look they
- 23:26Speaker 12: just came up, came up off in those spots, and
- 23:28Speaker 12: that led to transition opportunities for us.
- 23:31Speaker 13: What was what was it about tonight that this was
- 23:34Speaker 13: the night to finally switch up the starting lineup?
- 23:36Speaker 11: And how'd you kind of come.
- 23:37Speaker 14: To that five?
- 23:39Speaker 12: Because at five had had beat the other five and
- 23:42Speaker 12: practice the other day and this time of year, like.
- 23:46Speaker 7: It is what it is.
- 23:47Speaker 12: We got to play well, but like we got to
- 23:48Speaker 12: keep getting better. And so you know, I mean we
- 23:53Speaker 12: didn't have a great February. We've had a great season
- 23:56Speaker 12: in my opinion, but you know, I mean we're gonna
- 24:01Speaker 12: play the players that are playing the best. And if
- 24:03Speaker 12: one group's being an other team's group, like, nobody's job
- 24:05Speaker 12: safe here, right, I mean we know that. I mean,
- 24:08Speaker 12: if we won twenty five percent of my games, I
- 24:10Speaker 12: love talking y'all, I probably won't be talking you all
- 24:12Speaker 12: very long, right, So that's for everybody. I mean, we've
- 24:15Speaker 12: got enough talent out there that we can figure it out.
- 24:18Speaker 12: And the next thing is, I wanted some of those
- 24:21Speaker 12: guards a little mad at me, Honestly, I wanted them
- 24:24Speaker 12: mad at me to play with a little more firely.
- 24:26Speaker 12: They got something they got to prove and they did it.
- 24:29Speaker 12: So if I can make them mad at me more often,
- 24:31Speaker 12: I'm gonna keep doing it. However, that is what'd you like.
- 24:34Speaker 1: About how Ryland played, especially in the second half.
- 24:37Speaker 12: He played aggressive, He played like he had something to prove.
- 24:44Speaker 11: He played not to.
- 24:47Speaker 12: You know, not to just be out there and stay
- 24:50Speaker 12: on the floor, but be an impact in the game.
- 24:52Speaker 11: Ryland has been.
- 24:52Speaker 12: A role player at a lot of the places he's
- 24:55Speaker 12: been in Alabama, Kansas, but you know, we brought him
- 24:58Speaker 12: here to be a real player, and he's done that
- 25:02Speaker 12: great time a lot of times in the season. But
- 25:05Speaker 12: he's got to understand that, like he's a key guard
- 25:07Speaker 12: for us, he's got to be a real player at
- 25:09Speaker 12: all times. And if he misses some shots and he
- 25:12Speaker 12: gets off twelve shots, sometimes he's going to miss him.
- 25:14Speaker 12: But I'd rather live with him getting off twelve shots
- 25:16Speaker 12: and getting off three. We got to do a better
- 25:18Speaker 12: job of getting him open. But you could see the
- 25:20Speaker 12: aggressiveness in his eye, the way he ran the floor,
- 25:22Speaker 12: the way he got to the basket, and the way
- 25:23Speaker 12: he was looking for a shot.
- 25:24Speaker 4: You know. To that point, Roland did talk about the
- 25:27Speaker 4: aggression and understanding what this game meant how do you
- 25:29Speaker 4: as a coach kind of.
- 25:30Speaker 15: Balance saying, hey, like, we understand this position where we're in,
- 25:33Speaker 15: but staying within.
- 25:34Speaker 12: Yourself, Well, I'd rather go down swinging. And that's why
- 25:38Speaker 12: I told our guys, man, try to squeeze all forty
- 25:40Speaker 12: threes if we can. We didn't, but they had that
- 25:43Speaker 12: mindset and that way, they're not focused on winning or losing.
- 25:46Speaker 11: They're just focused on playing aggressive in the game.
- 25:48Speaker 12: You know, we got to the line thirty nine times
- 25:49Speaker 12: in the game, which is elite, so you know, play aggressive,
- 25:53Speaker 12: live with whatever happens after that. We actually started the
- 25:56Speaker 12: game trapping a little bit more than normal, just so
- 25:58Speaker 12: we can come out aggressive and and you really send
- 26:01Speaker 12: the message. Now they got up on us, but you know,
- 26:03Speaker 12: I still felt we were aggressive, which was good to see.
- 26:06Speaker 15: You're talking about having the thirty forty three points years
- 26:08Speaker 15: do you think or three point shots? Do you think
- 26:11Speaker 15: that is what contributed into finding that second, third, fourth
- 26:14Speaker 15: score through stretch that y'all kind of been missing in
- 26:18Speaker 15: the last few games.
- 26:19Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 26:20Speaker 12: I mean, our guards just let's call it what it is, like,
- 26:22Speaker 12: our guards really played well tonight and I thought they
- 26:25Speaker 12: got the best of the best of some of their
- 26:27Speaker 12: matchups in the game when they played well. Some of
- 26:30Speaker 12: these games recently, we haven't. You know, you can't have
- 26:35Speaker 12: you can't look up on the stat sheet this time
- 26:37Speaker 12: of year and the other team guards go for fifty
- 26:40Speaker 12: some points and you know we go for twenty one.
- 26:43Speaker 12: You're not gonna win this time of year doing that.
- 26:45Speaker 12: So you know, it was a collective effort. You know,
- 26:48Speaker 12: Oley played well in the game. He had eight points,
- 26:51Speaker 12: but his plus thirty one when we're on the floor, right,
- 26:53Speaker 12: he played twenty one minutes and it was plus thirty one.
- 26:56Speaker 12: He does a lot of things out there. Him and
- 26:58Speaker 12: Ruben are kind of a good combination. You know, Ali's
- 27:02Speaker 12: a defender and athlete. Ruben's a shooter and thinks the
- 27:08Speaker 12: game really well. But you know, even though he don't
- 27:11Speaker 12: show up with you know all those threes, Illy had
- 27:13Speaker 12: a great game as well.
- 27:14Speaker 15: Do you feel like that win is one to get you.
- 27:16Speaker 11: Off the bubble?
- 27:19Speaker 12: Look, I mean, I'll just say like this, I don't
- 27:21Speaker 12: really I don't like to make anyone upset or the
- 27:24Speaker 12: insa tournament committee upset.
- 27:25Speaker 11: I'm not trying to lobby. I'm not gonna lobby for
- 27:27Speaker 11: our team.
- 27:28Speaker 12: Look, you know, at the end of the day, you
- 27:30Speaker 12: should want our team in the tournament because we were,
- 27:33Speaker 12: because we're good enough. We won twenty plus games and
- 27:36Speaker 12: we have a winning record in the league. But we
- 27:37Speaker 12: need to go get this next one regardless. I want
- 27:39Speaker 12: to make a run a the SEC tournament, but I'm
- 27:41Speaker 12: not gonna lobby. I'm not gonna cry about getting in
- 27:44Speaker 12: or anything like that, Like that's not what it's about here.
- 27:46Speaker 12: You should want Texas A and M if they're in
- 27:48Speaker 12: there in the tournament. We've done stuff on the road,
- 27:50Speaker 12: even the games we've lost against the top team in
- 27:52Speaker 12: the league. I've been right there a lot of times.
- 27:54Speaker 12: We're an exciting team. We're a tough matchup for other teams.
- 27:58Speaker 12: We're in the number one league in the country. The
- 28:00Speaker 12: bunch of guys that came together there last second lost
- 28:03Speaker 12: a couple of games early and kind of really rolled
- 28:05Speaker 12: in spite of adversity.
- 28:06Speaker 11: So we've took everything that's come our way.
- 28:09Speaker 12: If you kind of look at the totality of the season,
- 28:13Speaker 12: we want to be in that deal for sure, but
- 28:14Speaker 12: you know, we want people that want us in there,
- 28:16Speaker 12: and that's how I feel about it.
- 28:18Speaker 15: Jakari didn't play tonight, We just want to ask you
- 28:20Speaker 15: there was a reason for about it just wasn't.
- 28:24Speaker 12: Just wasn't what we went with. You know, you gotta
- 28:26Speaker 12: be ready to play next game. You know, we'll see
- 28:28Speaker 12: how it goes. No no discipline, eary reason, nothing like that.
- 28:31Speaker 12: He just sometimes you feel your gut's telling you one
- 28:34Speaker 12: way on a game, sometimes another. You know, there's a
- 28:37Speaker 12: game this year that that part Cary played one minute in.
- 28:40Speaker 12: You know, there's a game that Pop didn't even dress in.
- 28:43Speaker 12: You know there's game Josh hadn't played much, and he
- 28:45Speaker 12: played a lot tonight. So it just kind of got
- 28:46Speaker 12: to rally around that.
- 28:49Speaker 16: Did eight steals and eighteen wins on turnovers tonight.
- 28:52Speaker 11: Kind of how.
- 28:53Speaker 15: Did that success defensively translate to successful offense.
- 28:58Speaker 12: It's always good when you can get turnovers and play
- 29:00Speaker 12: like we play and get up and down. You know,
- 29:05Speaker 12: you just feel better about it playing that way, Like
- 29:09Speaker 12: I'm always good. A team that coach that's going to press,
- 29:12Speaker 12: I'll never not press because I can live with it.
- 29:14Speaker 12: You know what I'm saying. I'm trying to live my
- 29:16Speaker 12: life and I want our team to live their life.
- 29:18Speaker 12: I'm not playing basketball, I'm coaching basketball. Afraid of them's shadow.
- 29:22Speaker 12: And I think basketball is a war. I think, you know,
- 29:26Speaker 12: picking the guys up ninety four feet, there's a reason
- 29:29Speaker 12: floors ninety four feet, not to play at forty something
- 29:31Speaker 12: feet right, not to sit back inside the three and
- 29:33Speaker 12: be scared of death, of giving up a dunk or
- 29:35Speaker 12: a layup. And that that helps our team when we
- 29:38Speaker 12: get stilled, but also helps our mindset because they know
- 29:41Speaker 12: we're playing to live and we're not playing not to die. Hey,
- 29:47Speaker 12: I want to say something because it's our last home game.
- 29:49Speaker 12: I really appreciate y'all's coverage and y'all been very positive
- 29:51Speaker 12: with our team. And I mean that because, like you know,
- 29:54Speaker 12: I think people have a realization of our group that
- 29:57Speaker 12: everybody wants to win every game. And I'm not gonna
- 29:59Speaker 12: be content. We win this league and we go win
- 30:01Speaker 12: a Natty and win the final four. One day we'll
- 30:02Speaker 12: get to the final four. It's gonna be something awesome
- 30:04Speaker 12: to do. But while we're building this thing, it's very easy.
- 30:08Speaker 12: And went through a four game losing streak or we
- 30:10Speaker 12: started the season off not very good for everyone not
- 30:13Speaker 12: to be positive and stay with this team. I'm not
- 30:15Speaker 12: expecting everything to be whatever I get, it never gonna
- 30:17Speaker 12: offend me, but it impacts recruiting, It impacts the morale
- 30:22Speaker 12: of the fan base, and understanding what we were up against,
- 30:26Speaker 12: gave us a chance to go. And now I have
- 30:27Speaker 12: a chance to go eleven and seven in the league
- 30:29Speaker 12: and get to then say tournament, And it'd be very
- 30:31Speaker 12: easy to tourna when things don't go great. But man,
- 30:34Speaker 12: many of y'all met, I call you all my friends.
- 30:35Speaker 12: I Don'm not trying to influence your journalism, but it
- 30:38Speaker 12: means a great deal because it helped this team team
- 30:41Speaker 12: stay the course and feel the love that they got
- 30:44Speaker 12: to feel and keep the positive momentum going so that
- 30:46Speaker 12: we can do something special and try to get to
- 30:48Speaker 12: this insay tournament, and I won't forget it. Hopefully we're
- 30:51Speaker 12: never on the bubble again. Hopefully we just ride right
- 30:54Speaker 12: on through. But I'm gonna remember everyone that was here
- 30:57Speaker 12: when we were going through the ups and downs of it,
- 30:59Speaker 12: Appreciate y'all and gig them.
- 31:01Speaker 2: That's a bucky post game last night, and hopefully that
- 31:10Speaker 2: gets them in the tournament.
- 31:11Speaker 1: We're going to take a break.
- 31:12Speaker 2: Scott Clindennon is here, Mallory will be here in the

- 34:55Speaker 5: I'll revel.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Song written by Fred Rhodes a long time ago. It
- 35:03Speaker 2: was covered by many artists, but Willie made it uh
- 35:09Speaker 2: gianganic record that made the Rose family a lot of
- 35:13Speaker 2: extra money.
- 35:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean, I've said the story on here before,
- 35:18Speaker 4: calling the kop Y and Alice to get played Blue
- 35:20Speaker 4: Ice crying in the room. They played Fred Rose's version
- 35:24Speaker 4: of it. They didn't know, yes they did.
- 35:30Speaker 1: Exactly were they trying to get back at you?
- 35:32Speaker 4: I was eight.
- 35:37Speaker 1: Scott Fland did it us here with us?
- 35:39Speaker 2: I had to open the show with the news that
- 35:41Speaker 2: lou Holtz had died. We knew several weeks that he
- 35:45Speaker 2: was close and not in great health, his family issuing
- 35:49Speaker 2: a long statement on social media one of my favorites,
- 35:53Speaker 2: one of my one of the favorite coaches that I covered.
- 35:56Speaker 2: I mean, the guy was always accommodating, but he didn't
- 36:00Speaker 2: have to be. I loved him. I loved what he
- 36:03Speaker 2: stood for. He won the not last national championship at
- 36:10Speaker 2: Notre Dame in nineteen eighty eight. That is really hard
- 36:15Speaker 2: to believe.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Could have won a couple of more, but didn't.
- 36:22Speaker 4: As I've always said this, more than Bobby Bowden, he
- 36:29Speaker 4: was the best big game coach of his generation. That
- 36:35Speaker 4: was also the worst big game coach of his generation.
- 36:38Speaker 4: I don't think Bobby Bowden didn't lose national championships because
- 36:43Speaker 4: of stuff he did. I mean, he put the kicker
- 36:45Speaker 4: out there. You're supposed to be able to make those kids, Yeah, okay, yeah,
- 36:48Speaker 4: all those things that went on, all right. Lou would
- 36:52Speaker 4: make decisions in huge games that would backfire spectacle curly
- 37:00Speaker 4: and cost him. They shouldn't have lost to Boston College
- 37:04Speaker 4: after beating UH Catholic VERSU convicts game. Yes, okay, yes,
- 37:10Speaker 4: so you lose to Boston College, you play A and
- 37:12Speaker 4: M that next game Okay, we we know how that was.
- 37:15Speaker 4: That was a Notre Dame, was the best team in
- 37:17Speaker 4: the country, all right, they No, it was Florida State.
- 37:21Speaker 4: It wasn't Miami. It was Florida State, who they had
- 37:23Speaker 4: beaten two weeks earlier. Goes and wins the national championship
- 37:27Speaker 4: for Bobby Bowden and Lou doesn't get I just beat
- 37:31Speaker 4: them three weeks ago. Yes, okay, Kirby smart reminds me
- 37:36Speaker 4: of the same way.
- 37:37Speaker 1: Interesting. Well, let me let me say this.
- 37:41Speaker 2: If if you win big games and lose big games,
- 37:46Speaker 2: you're playing a lot of big games.
- 37:48Speaker 4: You're in big games. I understand that. But Kirby, you
- 37:52Speaker 4: call a brilliant call this year to steal the momentum
- 37:56Speaker 4: and a fake play and everything's great and you get
- 37:59Speaker 4: back and take the lead in the next series. Your
- 38:02Speaker 4: play is a bonehead play that cost it was stupid. No, yes, no, yes, Kirby.
- 38:07Speaker 4: I've always thought Kirby reminds me of Holtz. Interesting okay,
- 38:12Speaker 4: But Lou Holtz was a huge big game coach.
- 38:16Speaker 2: Well, I just I loved him off the field more
- 38:19Speaker 2: than I did on the field. I loved watching him
- 38:21Speaker 2: on the field. You know when when he came to Arkansas,
- 38:25Speaker 2: we obviously all got to see him here, right and
- 38:28Speaker 2: and and just just that that cage tiger pacing back
- 38:33Speaker 2: and forth with that uh play sheet rolled up in
- 38:36Speaker 2: his back pocket.
- 38:38Speaker 4: Uh.
- 38:39Speaker 2: You know, I always thought that Lou was going to
- 38:42Speaker 2: turn sideways and disappear. And I think most of that was,
- 38:46Speaker 2: you know, that's how he was built. He he he
- 38:49Speaker 2: probably didn't eat a lot, uh, or maybe he threw
- 38:53Speaker 2: it up some when he was eating, because he was
- 38:56Speaker 2: just always like that. But but but off the field,
- 38:59Speaker 2: he was comfortable going on Carson and doing magic tricks
- 39:02Speaker 2: and making people laugh. He was open about his faith,
- 39:08Speaker 2: and even more so the the older he got. And
- 39:11Speaker 2: I just he was just one of the all time greats.
- 39:15Speaker 2: He was a character, you know, I mean he knew that.
- 39:19Speaker 2: But but I don't think that his ego overwhelmed anybody.
- 39:25Speaker 2: I just I just always really liked low Holtz, and
- 39:29Speaker 2: again as a guy who who was able to cover
- 39:32Speaker 2: him in the cotton bolls, you know, a couple of
- 39:35Speaker 2: times that they played Notre Dame and then at Arkansas
- 39:39Speaker 2: and in other places at South Carolina even I mean
- 39:45Speaker 2: he went and he had some memorable memorable games as
- 39:49Speaker 2: you mentioned some of which that he won. I think
- 39:53Speaker 2: of that Orange Bowl when they went in and he
- 39:56Speaker 2: he saw Arkansas beat Oklahoma and he had kicked you know,
- 39:59Speaker 2: three MA major players off the team for violating curfew
- 40:03Speaker 2: right before that game, and and and then went in
- 40:05Speaker 2: and and denied Oklahoma I think a national championship by
- 40:09Speaker 2: winning that Orange Bowl.
- 40:11Speaker 1: Uh.
- 40:11Speaker 2: But I just I just always liked him. I think
- 40:15Speaker 2: most people liked him. Uh. And Uh, he'll be missed.
- 40:19Speaker 2: He was a giant figure. And and I think he
- 40:24Speaker 2: came out of an era where where which we've talked
- 40:28Speaker 2: about many times now that that coaches weren't afraid to
- 40:32Speaker 2: have some personality, right, and he certainly wasn't afraid to
- 40:36Speaker 2: have He was just he was who he was, uh,
- 40:40Speaker 2: and which which I think endeared him to a lot
- 40:42Speaker 2: of people.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Nowadays, you don't get many lou.
- 40:45Speaker 2: Holtzes because they're afraid of going on TV or on
- 40:48Speaker 2: camera or are are being caught, you know, on social
- 40:52Speaker 2: media saying something they weren't supposed to say.
- 40:55Speaker 19: Uh.
- 40:56Speaker 1: Was never afraid of him.
- 40:58Speaker 4: The picture of him Backett, who was from Dallas White
- 41:02Speaker 4: High School, that he's got him grabbed by the face mask. Yes,
- 41:06Speaker 4: you know, and pulling him down to him to talk
- 41:08Speaker 4: to him. Yes, talk to him because was six foot four.
- 41:12Speaker 1: You couldn't get away with that.
- 41:13Speaker 4: You get away with that stuff.
- 41:14Speaker 2: Now, now that was a fire that that would have
- 41:16Speaker 2: been a fire bull offense, yes, right, But anyway, I
- 41:20Speaker 2: just I hadn't talked about that.
- 41:22Speaker 4: But the other thing is, I think because of how
- 41:26Speaker 4: it has gone since then, his spectacular failure with the
- 41:31Speaker 4: Jets doesn't even matter.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you know, and honestly, I I hadn't thought about that.
- 41:39Speaker 2: There were a lot of people that spectacularly failed with
- 41:42Speaker 2: the Jets over the years.
- 41:44Speaker 4: Aaron Glenn might be doing it right now.
- 41:45Speaker 1: You know, he was good at Minnesota.
- 41:47Speaker 2: He wasn't great at Minnesota, right, but everywhere else. I mean,
- 41:54Speaker 2: he was obviously a one of a kind kind of coach.
- 41:58Speaker 2: He had a style what it may not have played
- 42:01Speaker 2: in today's football, right. He was going to beat you physically,
- 42:04Speaker 2: he was gonna run the football right. And the grass
- 42:07Speaker 2: at Notre Dame for those big games.
- 42:10Speaker 4: You mean when you couldn't see their shoes.
- 42:12Speaker 2: Correct, you know, it seemed like they forgot to mow
- 42:15Speaker 2: that grass in some of the bigger games with them,
- 42:18Speaker 2: with the faster athletes that they would play right, yes,
- 42:21Speaker 2: but you know that was lou He was going to
- 42:24Speaker 2: run the football and say, hey, stop us.
- 42:28Speaker 1: All right, that's enough, We'll take a break. We'll come back.
- 42:31Speaker 1: We're going to talk some baseball.
- 42:32Speaker 2: We're going to talk some basketball obviously after this for
- 42:37Speaker 2: Oscar and Sons and Citizens State Pank.

- 45:35Speaker 2: So on this well all Willie Wednesday, I will tell
- 45:38Speaker 2: you we are working on John Spong Hope, host of
- 45:42Speaker 2: the podcast Won by Willie. His first of fifteen new
- 45:46Speaker 2: ones drops next Wednesday. So we're working on John Spong
- 45:53Speaker 2: Uh Thursday, that's tomorrow, right. Luke Epplin joins me. His
- 45:58Speaker 2: book is called Moses and the Doctor to Mid One
- 46:03Speaker 2: Championship and the Birth of modern Basketball. Luke Upland joins
- 46:08Speaker 2: me tomorrow to talk about faux foe and foe and
- 46:12Speaker 2: much more than that. The great Julius Irving. I'm I'm
- 46:18Speaker 2: anxious because Luke is well, everybody's younger than me now,
- 46:21Speaker 2: but I'm anxious to see his reaction when I tell
- 46:26Speaker 2: him I actually saw the Doctor in his prime in
- 46:29Speaker 2: the a BA and I was one of the ones
- 46:31Speaker 2: that knew to get there early for warm ups because
- 46:34Speaker 2: he was going to put on a show. And it
- 46:36Speaker 2: was just it's fun reading the book. So, who's the
- 46:39Speaker 2: Chaparale's best player the Dallas Chaparral's.
- 46:42Speaker 4: Yeah, when they're playing, I don't know.
- 46:45Speaker 2: Beasley was good, the Aggie right, he could shoot, yeah,
- 46:50Speaker 2: Maurice McCarty, Spider Bennett.
- 46:52Speaker 4: But I mean when Doctor's dunking at one end, you've
- 46:54Speaker 4: got to have one of your guys.
- 46:56Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 46:56Speaker 2: And they had a couple of guys, Okay, couple of guys.
- 47:01Speaker 2: And it's interesting. In the book he tells this story
- 47:06Speaker 2: and I don't even know who they're playing. He tells
- 47:09Speaker 2: his story about Doctor going for a layup and going
- 47:14Speaker 2: right at the top of the key, right down the pate,
- 47:17Speaker 2: and a guy guarding him, and about him going around
- 47:22Speaker 2: him in mid air and laying the ball up, which
- 47:25Speaker 2: I've told that story many times, and guys going no, no,
- 47:30Speaker 2: he didn't, and the and the players didn't know what happened,
- 47:35Speaker 2: but the people.
- 47:36Speaker 1: That were there going, yes, he did.
- 47:38Speaker 2: He went around the guy in the air and laying
- 47:42Speaker 2: the ball up right. And I'm going, of course he did,
- 47:46Speaker 2: because I saw it with my own two eyes.
- 47:49Speaker 1: I've seen him do that.
- 47:51Speaker 4: I watched I was watching the tape delay of the
- 47:54Speaker 4: Lakers and Philadelphia when he went underneath, when he went
- 47:57Speaker 4: underneath and laid it in.
- 48:01Speaker 1: Yes, I think it was.
- 48:05Speaker 4: And James not James Worthy Jamal Wilkes. Okay, okay, yeah, yeah,
- 48:12Speaker 4: so but I'm I'm like, you know, it was tape
- 48:16Speaker 4: delay and people were like, what do you mean it
- 48:17Speaker 4: was tape delay?
- 48:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, like he goes in, he goes into
- 48:20Speaker 2: that in the book.
- 48:21Speaker 11: Right.
- 48:22Speaker 1: Uh, the NBA was not doing well. I mean it was.
- 48:25Speaker 2: It was getting killed and in fact, Magic versus Bird
- 48:31Speaker 2: in seventy nine drew fifty million viewers.
- 48:34Speaker 20: Right.
- 48:36Speaker 4: Any wait, that Indiana State teams is just like Miami
- 48:38Speaker 4: of Ohio. They didn't deserve to be Yeah, yeah they were.
- 48:41Speaker 1: They weren't any good.
- 48:42Speaker 4: They weren't any good.
- 48:43Speaker 15: Uh.
- 48:44Speaker 2: And by the way, funny you should mention that because
- 48:51Speaker 2: coming up next week, I'm going to visit with Keith O'Brien.
- 48:56Speaker 2: He has a book out called Heartland of Forgot in place,
- 49:01Speaker 2: an impossible dream and the miracle of Larry Bird. That
- 49:05Speaker 2: we'll talk about that two year run. People have forgotten
- 49:09Speaker 2: because they were really good the year before, but the
- 49:13Speaker 2: two year run that culminated in the year before they
- 49:16Speaker 2: didn't get to the tournament because they lost. This was
- 49:19Speaker 2: when the tournament was thirty two games, and one of
- 49:22Speaker 2: the reasons the tournament is now sixty eight and going
- 49:25Speaker 2: higher is because of Magic versus Byrd.
- 49:28Speaker 4: Because a young.
- 49:29Speaker 2: Young producer Kevin O'Malley, talked to work with CBS INBC
- 49:37Speaker 2: had the games right, they're the ones that had Billy
- 49:42Speaker 2: Packer and Al McGuire and dick Enbert. But this guy said,
- 49:47Speaker 2: fifty million people watching college basketball, I think maybe we
- 49:51Speaker 2: should put some of the earlier games on TV and
- 49:54Speaker 2: make a big deal out of it. He created Selection
- 49:57Speaker 2: Sunday and it all became cause of that year nineteen
- 50:02Speaker 2: seventy nine. But again, I will visit with Keith O'Brien
- 50:07Speaker 2: next week. The book Heartland about the whole story, not
- 50:11Speaker 2: just of Larry Bird, but that improbable year that Indiana
- 50:16Speaker 2: State was undefeated and went to the championship game against
- 50:21Speaker 2: Magic Johnson. So that's pretty cool. Also, next week. We're
- 50:26Speaker 2: not just taking spring break off people?
- 50:29Speaker 4: Why not?
- 50:30Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 50:31Speaker 2: Okay, I hate that. That's a good I don't have
- 50:33Speaker 2: an answer.
- 50:34Speaker 11: To this time.
- 50:35Speaker 4: I mean you need to have the question now.
- 50:37Speaker 2: I know I don't have the answer. Actor Rob Morrow,
- 50:42Speaker 2: if you're old enough, you first saw him in a
- 50:50Speaker 2: little show called Northern Exposure. Believe it that moose walking
- 50:55Speaker 2: through the walking through town. Yeah, that was thirty six
- 51:00Speaker 2: years ago. Thirty six years ago, nineteen ninety. He won
- 51:08Speaker 2: three Golden Globes, had two Emmy nominations as Best Actor
- 51:13Speaker 2: in a Dramatic Series Northern Exposure. He's been in numbers.
- 51:20Speaker 2: He's got a series out streaming called The Gray. It's
- 51:25Speaker 2: a true story about women with the underground railroad and
- 51:31Speaker 2: fighting in the Civil War. Rob Morrow will join us
- 51:36Speaker 2: on the program.
- 51:37Speaker 4: Okay, Larry Bird only averaged thirty and eleven when he
- 51:40Speaker 4: was a junior.
- 51:43Speaker 2: Correct it was thirty three as senior. I believe right.
- 51:46Speaker 4: I'm about to look that up. But yeah, what was it?
- 51:51Speaker 4: And he was there?
- 51:52Speaker 1: There wasn't three point shot?
- 51:53Speaker 20: Then?
- 51:54Speaker 2: No, it was not three point shot?
- 51:56Speaker 4: No, okay, let's see here. Larry was oh, twenty eight
- 52:02Speaker 4: point six fifteen and five and a half. So he
- 52:07Speaker 4: gave the ball up a little bit more.
- 52:09Speaker 2: He had better players around it. That are players around here.
- 52:11Speaker 4: Yeah, they finished second in the Missouri Valley the year before, right,
- 52:15Speaker 4: they went twenty three and nine and eleven.
- 52:17Speaker 2: And they kept losing to New Mexico State in Illinois State.
- 52:22Speaker 2: Uh so that's gonna be you can Yeah, yeah, we'll.
- 52:26Speaker 2: We'll get to as much as we can. We'll get
- 52:28Speaker 2: to as much as we can.
- 52:30Speaker 4: Then when is March Madness around here? Like in two weeks?
- 52:34Speaker 2: Yeah, March Madness starts a week from this coming Monday.
- 52:40Speaker 4: That's when they're in Dayton.
- 52:42Speaker 2: No, Dayton's Tuesday night. Okakay, I think it's Tuesday Wednesday.
- 52:47Speaker 2: Don't they play four games? They play all four games
- 52:49Speaker 2: on Tuesday. I don't remember. I think it's Tuesday wednes think.
- 52:51Speaker 4: It's Tuesday Wednesday.
- 52:52Speaker 2: But Monday are our sports talk Madness starts?
- 52:57Speaker 4: All right?
- 52:57Speaker 2: Yeah, I've got to bring up I hadn't been thinking
- 53:01Speaker 2: about that terms, but I've got to bring up our
- 53:03Speaker 2: theme song, and I will.
- 53:04Speaker 4: I mean, it is the greatest event event, sporting event,
- 53:08Speaker 4: ongoing sporting event. Yeah, you're contests, not the tournament.
- 53:12Speaker 1: Oh bo both yeah, yeah, both of them.
- 53:17Speaker 4: So plethora of prizes.
- 53:18Speaker 2: At a veritable plethor of prizes, and I've never won,
- 53:21Speaker 2: by the way, I've never won.
- 53:23Speaker 4: Picked their on colors. It's the simplest contest whatever, the simplest.
- 53:28Speaker 2: Fan I know anybody can win it, and I mean anybody,
- 53:33Speaker 2: so uh yeah, get ready to get signed up. Well,
- 53:36Speaker 2: we'll have all the games and are all the teams,
- 53:40Speaker 2: and you'll just pick ten. That's the beauty of the contest.
- 53:43Speaker 2: As Scott mentioned, it's a simple contest for simple people.
- 53:47Speaker 2: All you have to do is pick your top ten teams,
- 53:52Speaker 2: your your ten favorite teams.
- 53:53Speaker 1: That's it.
- 53:54Speaker 2: You don't have to fill out a whole bracket, just
- 53:56Speaker 2: pick ten teams. You'll you'll be awarded points as we go.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Most of you have been here long enough to understand.
- 54:02Speaker 4: How it works, and they've all won it, and you haven't.
- 54:05Speaker 1: And I have not won it. I've never won my
- 54:07Speaker 1: own contest. That sucks. I think this year might be
- 54:11Speaker 1: the year.
- 54:12Speaker 2: And while I'm saying it, CBS, TBS and True TV
- 54:17Speaker 2: has announced their announcers for the tournament.
- 54:23Speaker 1: Let me guess, okay.
- 54:24Speaker 4: And I want to save some time in the second
- 54:27Speaker 4: hour Bruce Pearl is doing Miami of Ohio games.
- 54:33Speaker 2: Bruce Pearl is not on the list. He's not doing games.
- 54:37Speaker 2: The number one announcing team including the final four i
- 54:41Speaker 2: An Eagle, Bill Raftery, Grant Hill, Tracy Wolfson. Okay, yeah,
- 54:49Speaker 2: so those are the guys. It was announced today that
- 54:53Speaker 2: Dick Vital and Charles Barkley will be back together during
- 54:57Speaker 2: the Dayton Games one or two of the Dayton All right, okay,
- 55:01Speaker 2: so there you go. All right, we need a break.
- 55:04Speaker 2: That's a quick thirty minutes. But we've got lots of
- 55:08Speaker 2: we did. We've got a lot of stuff. It was
- 55:09Speaker 2: all about sports. It was about sports, which is weird.
- 55:13Speaker 2: We'll try to change that when we come back. Hey,
