- 0:05Speaker 1: Welcome to Just the Cats with Michael Bennett. Hello, Big
- 0:14Speaker 1: Blue Nation, Welcome to Justin Cats. My name is Michael
- 0:18Speaker 1: Bennett on this Thursday, August thirteenth. I hope everybody's having
- 0:23Speaker 1: a great day yesterday. But wow, what a wild day yesterday,
- 0:25Speaker 1: especially up in Indiana. But Justin is with me this morning. Uh.
- 0:30Speaker 1: If you'd like to give us a call, you can
- 0:31Speaker 1: do that five O two three four fourteen fifty. You
- 0:33Speaker 1: want to text us on the Whiskey Thief text line,
- 0:36Speaker 1: you can do that at five O two four to
- 0:37Speaker 1: one four fourteen fifty. Or you can tweet me at
- 0:41Speaker 1: just the Cat Radio. A lot to talk about today
- 0:46Speaker 1: because lots of stuff continues to keep breaking. But we'll
- 0:50Speaker 1: talk about that in a second. But my goodness, Justin,
- 0:53Speaker 1: good morning. By the way, good morning. Uh Uh Indiana
- 0:58Speaker 1: had I thought we had a lot of rain. Louisville,
- 1:01Speaker 1: Indiana had tons of rain yesterday and the flooding was crazy.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Miss me again, did it really? Yep? Yeah? So Uh.
- 1:12Speaker 2: There is nothing more annoying than there being massive storms
- 1:16Speaker 2: all around you and them just splitting your house.
- 1:19Speaker 1: I hate it. Well, you don't want to split your house,
- 1:22Speaker 1: I mean splitting around your house. Correct, Okay, yeah, the
- 1:25Speaker 1: last thing you want to have done is I got
- 1:27Speaker 1: I got to watching yesterday speaking of splitting a house,
- 1:31Speaker 1: there's lots of videos of guys cutting down trees only
- 1:35Speaker 1: to find out they thought they were cutting it down
- 1:37Speaker 1: the wrong way. It hits the house or hits the car,
- 1:40Speaker 1: and oh yeah, that was very entertaining. But on the
- 1:46Speaker 1: other hand, I get to a point where I think
- 1:49Speaker 1: people enjoy it, like I feel bad for the people
- 1:52Speaker 1: that screwed up. Can you imagine hiring a guy to
- 1:55Speaker 1: come cut a tree down and there is an art
- 1:58Speaker 1: to it? Oh? Absolutely, And I don't know what that
- 2:01Speaker 1: art is, but I would not trust me to go
- 2:04Speaker 1: cut a tree down next to my house because it
- 2:07Speaker 1: would go the opposite way and just anyway. But yeah,
- 2:11Speaker 1: I'll tell you what happened yesterday. I thought was so wild.
- 2:13Speaker 1: During this rain storm. I had two very large i'd
- 2:19Speaker 1: say at least eight point bucks, two of them together
- 2:25Speaker 1: in my backyard. Oh really, Oh, I was cray and
- 2:28Speaker 1: I never thought they traveled together. But maybe I don't
- 2:30Speaker 1: know much about deer, but yeah, it is like two
- 2:36Speaker 1: really big bucks in my backyard. I was like, wow,
- 2:40Speaker 1: this is pretty cool. So what did I do. I
- 2:42Speaker 1: got out to go take a picture of them. They
- 2:44Speaker 1: ran off, so I get my car and run off
- 2:46Speaker 1: with them. I'm chasing Bucks down the street during the storm. Yeah,
- 2:52Speaker 1: it's okay. It was just rain. A big deal. Why
- 2:55Speaker 1: is that a problem? Okay, all right, it's not okay.
- 2:59Speaker 2: By the way, you mentioned Indiana having a lot of rain. Yes,
- 3:03Speaker 2: there was one town in Indiana, so I think the
- 3:06Speaker 2: record for most rain in a day or in a
- 3:08Speaker 2: twenty four hour period was like ten and a half
- 3:10Speaker 2: inches or something. And how much in a twenty four
- 3:13Speaker 2: hour four hour period? All right, there was one city
- 3:17Speaker 2: and I can't remember the name of it. I can't
- 3:18Speaker 2: find it here, but right, they got seventeen inches in
- 3:23Speaker 2: twenty four hours yesterday, between Tuesday and yesterday.
- 3:28Speaker 1: Wow, that's a lot. That's crazy. I thought it was interesting.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I enjoyed the interview they one of the local channels
- 3:36Speaker 1: was interviewing a local sheriff and because evidently a car
- 3:41Speaker 1: got swept down a road or a creek or river,
- 3:46Speaker 1: I don't know what it was. And it was the
- 3:49Speaker 1: nicest way that the police officer could say, yeah, they
- 3:52Speaker 1: weren't too smart, And I thought, wow, I wish I
- 3:56Speaker 1: could remember exactly how he worded it, because you could
- 4:00Speaker 1: tell he was trying to say they were just complete idiots.
- 4:05Speaker 1: He was, and they had to come there and rescue
- 4:08Speaker 1: them to make sure they could gat of the car.
- 4:10Speaker 1: But the creek swept literally swept the car away because
- 4:15Speaker 1: they drove through it when they shouldn't have driven through it.
- 4:18Speaker 1: But I mean, you could tell he was trying his
- 4:22Speaker 1: best not to say these people were complete idiots. And
- 4:27Speaker 1: I enjoyed the interview. I mean, I respect to the
- 4:30Speaker 1: sheriff for a police officer that did this. He worded
- 4:33Speaker 1: it perfectly, and I I did enjoy that such.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Well, I couldn't be a cop because I would really
- 4:40Speaker 2: I would say exactly and.
- 4:42Speaker 1: See, that's what I'm on, that's what I want there.
- 4:45Speaker 1: There was one officer that I saw on social media
- 4:48Speaker 1: pulled over a guy and everybody loved him because he
- 4:52Speaker 1: said everything he should have said. You're an idiot. Why
- 4:56Speaker 1: are you tailgatting that guy? Uh? Why? And then pulled
- 4:59Speaker 1: him over. He he goes, I was going after the
- 5:01Speaker 1: other guy for speeding. Instead I pulled you over because
- 5:04Speaker 1: you're an idiot, And he goes, not only that, I
- 5:09Speaker 1: smell marijuana in your car. If I find it without
- 5:13Speaker 1: a license, you are going to jail. And this is
- 5:16Speaker 1: how dumb you are. I mean, he just goes off
- 5:19Speaker 1: on the guy. He goes You've made your day go
- 5:23Speaker 1: even worse. It's like, oh my gosh, Cause I'm like you,
- 5:27Speaker 1: I would say everything that, everything I'm thinking would come
- 5:32Speaker 1: absolutely out of my mouth. That's the other part I
- 5:34Speaker 1: couldn't do. As far as jobs, I don't think I
- 5:38Speaker 1: could be a therapist because I would look at that person.
- 5:42Speaker 1: It's like, You're not going to cry again today? Are you?
- 5:45Speaker 1: I mean, would you please just get over yourself? This
- 5:48Speaker 1: is ridiculous. Do you know how much of a child
- 5:51Speaker 1: you're acting? Oh, I couldn't do it, cause that's what
- 5:54Speaker 1: I'm saying when I go see my therapist. That's what
- 5:56Speaker 1: I'm thinking in my head. It's like, I can't. There's
- 5:59Speaker 1: no way I could do that. I just wouldn't want.
- 6:01Speaker 1: I would not want to sit around and listen to
- 6:03Speaker 1: people's problems all day. Yeah, no, no, I I could
- 6:07Speaker 1: not do it. There's a show that I'm really addicted
- 6:10Speaker 1: to right now called Shrinking. Have you seen that show? No?
- 6:14Speaker 1: But everybody's talking about with Harrison Ford Jason how do
- 6:17Speaker 1: you say his last name? Seagal or Sigal Jason Siga, Okay,
- 6:22Speaker 1: it is Sagal. He is really funny and if you
- 6:25Speaker 1: haven't seen this show, you have got to go watch
- 6:28Speaker 1: the show. Harrison Ford is brilliant in it. I never
- 6:33Speaker 1: dreamed I would watch, Uh it's the guy that starred
- 6:37Speaker 1: in Star Wars doing a show about therapy and how
- 6:43Speaker 1: funny it would be, and he is.
- 6:45Speaker 2: He is unbelievably funny in this. So you've got to
- 6:48Speaker 2: go watch that show. Yeah, I mean, like I said, ever,
- 6:51Speaker 2: I've heard everybody talking about it really Yeah, a new
- 6:54Speaker 2: season just came out. We forgot all about uh where
- 6:58Speaker 2: we left off, so we just started it all over again.
- 7:02Speaker 2: And there are lots of it that I just.
- 7:04Speaker 1: Like, I forgot. I completely forgot about this and I'm
- 7:07Speaker 1: just dying laughing in it. I mean, there are few
- 7:09Speaker 1: there are very few shows that I literally enjoy. This
- 7:12Speaker 1: one I really enjoy and I love it. By the way,
- 7:15Speaker 1: if you want to watch us on YouTube, you can
- 7:17Speaker 1: do that. Go look up how do you like that?
- 7:19Speaker 1: For a segue? Big X Sports Radio, louisvill and you
- 7:23Speaker 1: can watch us on YouTube. So anyway, seebody on there.
- 7:27Speaker 1: I don't know, but it would help if I didn't
- 7:28Speaker 1: have it muted. Oh really, Oh you mean we're on
- 7:31Speaker 1: YouTube and we're muted. Yeah, we missed that whole no
- 7:34Speaker 1: point that. Oh well, yeah, you can go on there
- 7:37Speaker 1: those eight minutes. Sorry, Oh well yeah YouTube. Well Big
- 7:41Speaker 1: X Sports Radio, Louisvel. So I'm doing a good job
- 7:43Speaker 1: remembering that. Yeah, okay, thank you. I appreciate it. All right.
- 7:48Speaker 1: A couple things that There's really two big stories as
- 7:52Speaker 1: far as I'm concerned. I think the really big one
- 7:56Speaker 1: is the whole Missouri basketball player, forward Mark Mitchell, who's
- 8:02Speaker 1: taken the biggest step as far as if he was
- 8:07Speaker 1: to come to Kentucky. And he's a part of a
- 8:11Speaker 1: lawsuit right now to become eligible for a fifth season.
- 8:17Speaker 1: So and he's trying to enter the transfer portal right now.
- 8:24Speaker 1: So ten thirty this morning is the hearing and it's
- 8:27Speaker 1: here in Louisville. And this is where I find it
- 8:31Speaker 1: interesting about sports media today. Not only do they know
- 8:36Speaker 1: when the judge is gonna the hearing, is they know
- 8:40Speaker 1: the judge. They even know where the judge went to
- 8:44Speaker 1: law school. And I find this very interesting because I
- 8:49Speaker 1: feel like more and more people are gonna go out
- 8:51Speaker 1: there and find out. Okay, where do you go to
- 8:53Speaker 1: law school? Where do you go to undergrad? Is he
- 8:56Speaker 1: a fan? Does he have season tickets? And so it's
- 8:59Speaker 1: interesting though, one particular judge today that is listening to
- 9:02Speaker 1: Mark Mitchell, and it's it's not just his uh, it's
- 9:06Speaker 1: a number of players that he's hearing a case for.
- 9:09Speaker 1: But it's the Northern Kentucky player. There's a mcnique State
- 9:14Speaker 1: basketball player, a Louisville football player, Louisville baseball, Wisconsin, Green Bay.
- 9:19Speaker 1: I mean, it's all kind Murray State Liberty. Uh So
- 9:23Speaker 1: it's a it's a pretty big love of another Louisville
- 9:26Speaker 1: football player, pretty big case. The judge went to Kentucky
- 9:30Speaker 1: law school. Does that make you feel good or does
- 9:35Speaker 1: that make you feel bad that he'll listen to this
- 9:38Speaker 1: and deny or accept it.
- 9:41Speaker 2: That doesn't make me feel either either way. Does it
- 9:44Speaker 2: really is that he shouldn't have any biases from his pass?
- 9:47Speaker 1: No, he shouldn't at all. You're exactly correct. But I
- 9:49Speaker 1: can guarantee you from court cases in the past from judges,
- 9:55Speaker 1: specifically one in Alabama, Texas. I I I really I
- 10:01Speaker 1: find it hard to believe, especially the one in I
- 10:04Speaker 1: would say the one in Texas even more because of
- 10:09Speaker 1: things that have happened down there. But I have to
- 10:12Speaker 1: believe that it's hard to throw that bias out. Do
- 10:16Speaker 1: you think justin you could listen to a case today
- 10:21Speaker 1: it was if it was Mendoza and he is out
- 10:25Speaker 1: there looking for an additional season, he decided, you know what,
- 10:29Speaker 1: I'd like to play for Indiana one more year, and
- 10:33Speaker 1: on top of it all, my goal is to see
- 10:35Speaker 1: a second championship in a row at IU for football.
- 10:40Speaker 1: Do you think, as a judge, knowing the die hard
- 10:45Speaker 1: IU fan that you are, you could listen to it
- 10:49Speaker 1: without any bias whatsoever?
- 10:52Speaker 2: I would like to think so yeah, because I mean, really,
- 10:55Speaker 2: you've got to separate, Okay, respect to you, you've got
- 10:58Speaker 2: to separate your fandom and your job. So those are
- 11:02Speaker 2: two different things. And I know there's that probably pretty
- 11:05Speaker 2: blurry at times and hard to do that, but that
- 11:10Speaker 2: you have to concentrate on your job. So yeah, I
- 11:12Speaker 2: think I could really, I see what you're saying, because
- 11:16Speaker 2: would be very tempting to be like, yeah, fifth year, granted,
- 11:19Speaker 2: Fernanda Mendoza back again.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I can tell you right now, I could not. I
- 11:25Speaker 1: couldn't because you know why. The first example right now,
- 11:29Speaker 1: we're both media members. Right, you're a media member. I
- 11:33Speaker 1: don't care what you say. You're a media member, and
- 11:35Speaker 1: you're a media member of value. Even though you don't
- 11:38Speaker 1: take full advantage of it. You should. I'm a media
- 11:41Speaker 1: member for the University Kentucky. First and foremost, I'm a fan.
- 11:46Speaker 1: I cannot separate media from fandom. When I'm sitting up
- 11:50Speaker 1: there in the press box, I am as excited as
- 11:53Speaker 1: I can be about anything. There aren't vocalize it. You
- 11:57Speaker 1: can't vocalize. But guess what the old local cords of
- 12:00Speaker 1: Michael Bennett full force. Every now and then I have
- 12:03Speaker 1: been criticized in the press box. Michael, you got a hush.
- 12:07Speaker 1: You're a media member. I have. I'm not gonna say
- 12:10Speaker 1: who did it, but I've gotten phone calls and text
- 12:13Speaker 1: messages in the middle of a game, Michael, you can't cheer,
- 12:17Speaker 1: and then guess what I gotta leave. I want to cheer.
- 12:21Speaker 1: That's the worst part of being a media member is
- 12:24Speaker 1: when you're sitting up there and you're supposed to represent
- 12:27Speaker 1: the school in a certain way and you just can't.
- 12:31Speaker 1: I know who I am. I can't do that. So
- 12:34Speaker 1: I got to excuse myself. I got to go into
- 12:35Speaker 1: the stands. So there are times I do I go
- 12:37Speaker 1: down into the football stands, or I go I excuse
- 12:41Speaker 1: myself from press row at Reperina and I or if
- 12:45Speaker 1: it's SEC or if it's NCAA tournaments, I gotta get
- 12:49Speaker 1: out of there. I gotta get it out of my system.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So if I if I'm listening to a hearing and
- 12:57Speaker 1: I know that I'm a diehard UK fan, I can't
- 13:01Speaker 1: do it justin I listen, I would probably I would
- 13:05Speaker 1: have to recuse myself.
- 13:07Speaker 2: I mean, I would never put myself in a position
- 13:09Speaker 2: to be a judge either way. So I could sit
- 13:13Speaker 2: here and say that I can. I can separate them
- 13:16Speaker 2: all I want, But until that day actually comes, and
- 13:18Speaker 2: it never will, I have no idea.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Well, with the way these hearings have gone so far,
- 13:24Speaker 1: I do feel fairly confident they'll allow it. They'll allow
- 13:28Speaker 1: a fifth year for all these players, do you, I mean,
- 13:31Speaker 1: is there going to come a day in time when
- 13:32Speaker 1: the judge comes out and says, now we're not doing it.
- 13:35Speaker 1: I don't. I don't know how they could with Tennessee
- 13:39Speaker 1: judges allowing it for it, Florida judges allowing for it,
- 13:44Speaker 1: you got the Colorado judge that that is allowing it
- 13:48Speaker 1: only if you had already put your name in the
- 13:51Speaker 1: transfer portal. But I think everybody's kind of nicks that
- 13:53Speaker 1: one because of the Florida and Tennessee cases, and I
- 13:57Speaker 1: think Kentucky will kind of follow suit with those.
- 13:59Speaker 2: I think we're at a point now where we're what
- 14:03Speaker 2: three months two months for one month from football less
- 14:05Speaker 2: than a month less than yeah, and then for basketball,
- 14:09Speaker 2: you're what three months less than no.
- 14:11Speaker 1: No, no, we're just a couple of months away. Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 2: So I just I don't think it can move quickly
- 14:17Speaker 2: enough to deny all these with you, He's like, why
- 14:21Speaker 2: why do you deny it? I mean, that's the thing
- 14:24Speaker 2: I worry about, though, is there's been all these injunctions
- 14:28Speaker 2: and you've got to try to pay attention to all
- 14:30Speaker 2: of them and make sure you're playing by the rules.
- 14:33Speaker 2: I just like, if I'm Louisville fan and I get
- 14:35Speaker 2: the news about Seth Tremble yesterday, I'm not really going
- 14:39Speaker 2: to get excited until I see him out on the floor.
- 14:42Speaker 2: Same thing with with Kentucky and Mark Mitchell if he
- 14:44Speaker 2: does indeed coming to come to Kentucky. I'm not gonna
- 14:48Speaker 2: get excited about that until I actually see him on
- 14:50Speaker 2: the floor because of just how unpredictable and crazy this
- 14:54Speaker 2: whole thing is too.
- 14:55Speaker 1: You're exactly correct. And can we talk about U of
- 14:58Speaker 1: L for a minute. Sure, where are they getting all
- 15:00Speaker 1: this money? I mean, everybody was criticizing and on top
- 15:04Speaker 1: of Mark Pope last year and UK for supposedly spending
- 15:08Speaker 1: twenty to twenty two million, U of l's got to
- 15:11Speaker 1: be spending at least thirty million or more this year
- 15:13Speaker 1: for sure. Where's all the criticism with Pat Kelcey. This
- 15:17Speaker 1: is a do or die season for Pat Kelty. I
- 15:19Speaker 1: just I think it's more commonplace now to spend it.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Kentucky was a little ahead of the curve last year,
- 15:25Speaker 1: right ah? I mean, but you you've got hex Sean
- 15:27Speaker 1: Miller was asked about it. How many schools that he
- 15:30Speaker 1: thinks have spent over twenty million for their roster, and
- 15:33Speaker 1: he said conservatively probably fifteen to my knowledge. You got
- 15:38Speaker 1: all right, You've out now has five star Flory Badunga
- 15:41Speaker 1: from Kansas, five star Obina. I mean e'sy akeasy junior.
- 15:48Speaker 1: You got four star Jackson shell Stead at Oregon car
- 15:52Speaker 1: four star Carter Knocks out of Arkansas. I'm still surprised
- 15:56Speaker 1: he's come to U of L. Four star Seth Trimble,
- 15:59Speaker 1: North Carolina, al Alvaro uh vulgaris and the Shane Montgomery.
- 16:08Speaker 1: Hey are are they? They're a top five team now, I.
- 16:12Speaker 2: Think so, But but that's all dependent on if Trimble
- 16:16Speaker 2: can actually play. They're all excited, say whatever you want,
- 16:19Speaker 2: Trimble's gonna play. They're all excited now that he's gonna play.
- 16:21Speaker 2: I'm not convinced he is.
- 16:23Speaker 1: That's you know, he had thirty points against U of
- 16:26Speaker 1: L last year in Young Center. Yeah, that's that's a
- 16:30Speaker 1: big get for Pat Kelsey. But uh my, my, my buddy.
- 16:33Speaker 1: J D. Shelburne was just he was all worked up yesterday,
- 16:36Speaker 1: texted me like crazy, what's going on at u of L.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Why can't we get this at UK? Well, we're gonna lose, right,
- 16:42Speaker 1: was he? I mean literally, he was so worked up.
- 16:46Speaker 1: And I looked at him and said, all right, JD,
- 16:50Speaker 1: remember who coaches them? And that's all I said. He
- 16:53Speaker 1: started laughing That's that's okay, that's all I needed here
- 16:56Speaker 1: because I just I don't have good for them forgetting
- 16:59Speaker 1: these players. I just don't have that much faith in
- 17:02Speaker 1: Pat Pat Kelcey. That's the rival, that's not the rival's rival. No,
- 17:08Speaker 1: I just you can say whatever you want, but but
- 17:11Speaker 1: good for them they are Listen. I think that is proof.
- 17:15Speaker 1: You know what we always say, Uh, no one will
- 17:18Speaker 1: ever know that you win the lottery, but there will
- 17:21Speaker 1: be signs. Yeah, that's true for U of L. Right now.
- 17:24Speaker 1: You know that the Pizza Boy is involved in this.
- 17:29Speaker 1: You don't know it for certain, but there are signs.
- 17:32Speaker 1: And these are the signs right now that Pizza Boys
- 17:35Speaker 1: involved with U of L in full force. Yeah, it
- 17:39Speaker 1: seems like it. Yeah, I don't know. I mean unless
- 17:41Speaker 1: Texas Roadhouse maybe. Oh you think that's the other one maybe?
- 17:46Speaker 1: Oh oh really another restaurant. I'm gonna stop going.
- 17:51Speaker 2: They just bought a whole tower, I know, but don't
- 17:54Speaker 2: take out some money.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I like Texas Roadhouse. If they're giving money over there
- 17:58Speaker 1: to the dirty birds, that's another restaurant I'm not gonna
- 18:01Speaker 1: go to.
- 18:01Speaker 2: Don't say that kind of stuff. And that's just childish. No,
- 18:04Speaker 2: it isn't that for you to not eat at a
- 18:07Speaker 2: restaurant because they're giving money to Louisville. Yes, it is
- 18:10Speaker 2: such a childish yes.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Is it really? It is. I'm not gonna miss your
- 18:14Speaker 1: cinnamon butter. I'll just tell you right now. Just give
- 18:17Speaker 1: me the rolls and real butter, and I'm coming over
- 18:20Speaker 1: there and eat. But this is it's like, please stop
- 18:23Speaker 1: with the cinnamon butter. Nobody likes it. Everybody likes they
- 18:26Speaker 1: hate it. They just that's that is the most disgusting
- 18:29Speaker 1: thing to do to butter. I'm just telling you now.
- 18:31Speaker 1: The greatest thing to do to butter is put some
- 18:33Speaker 1: salt in it. Oh my gosh, when they put the
- 18:36Speaker 1: big chunks of salt. God, that is a heart attack
- 18:39Speaker 1: ready to happen right there. I'm just telling you I
- 18:42Speaker 1: am in love with butter and salt. Okay, but all right,
- 18:45Speaker 1: we gotta take our first break. Five O two three
- 18:47Speaker 1: eight four fourteen fifty. You want to call in five
- 18:50Speaker 1: O two four one four fourteen fifty you dare to
- 18:53Speaker 1: text me? Uh, I look forward to your text on
- 18:56Speaker 1: the whiskey Ted text. I know you tweek me at
- 18:58Speaker 1: just a cat rado. This is my fri. I'm sorry. Everybody,
- 19:01Speaker 1: there is one thing I'm going to ask you when
- 19:03Speaker 1: we come back, and uh uh, that's that's who's going
- 19:06Speaker 1: to replace me for tomorrow? So nobody really you think
- 19:10Speaker 1: so I'm taking the morning? Are we? Do you have
- 19:12Speaker 1: a replacement? Why you're taking the morning off too? I
- 19:16Speaker 1: was thinking about it. Good for you. I haven't actually
- 19:18Speaker 1: have some work, actually have some work that I need
- 19:21Speaker 1: to do. Okay, good, all right, Well we'll talk about
- 19:23Speaker 1: soon as we get back. Stay right there. This is
- 19:24Speaker 1: just the cats. No damn good, Look, those are funns.
- 20:09Speaker 2: I don't mind now with Bolas Oh years he is.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Oh that is true. This song is so true when
- 20:25Speaker 1: the walls come tumbling down. I love this song. You
- 20:29Speaker 1: don't hear John Mellencamp played on the radio as much anymore,
- 20:32Speaker 1: do you know? I mean he he was crazy successful
- 20:36Speaker 1: in the what late seventies, eighties and somewhat nineties, and
- 20:41Speaker 1: I just I don't hear him. Are the only things
- 20:43Speaker 1: you hear about is him being a little grumpy? And
- 20:46Speaker 1: I hate that because he was one of my all
- 20:48Speaker 1: time favorite singers right there. Hold on, how he's grumpy?
- 20:51Speaker 1: He lives on Lake Monroe Lake? Oh really he does? Yeah? Yeah,
- 20:57Speaker 1: I just always I was always a big fan of his.
- 20:59Speaker 1: But anyway, if five O two three eight four fourteen
- 21:02Speaker 1: fifty you want to call five O two four to
- 21:03Speaker 1: one four h fourteen fifty, you want to text in
- 21:06Speaker 1: on the whiskey thief text line? Uh, one person texted
- 21:09Speaker 1: an unbiased judges LMAO. That hasn't been a thing for
- 21:15Speaker 1: at least twenty years, probably not in my lifetime. That's
- 21:20Speaker 1: just me hoping the good and people comes out. See well,
- 21:23Speaker 1: and you see, that's why I love you, because you
- 21:26Speaker 1: always hope for the good and people and unfortunately, ninety
- 21:32Speaker 1: percent of the time that just doesn't happen. That's why
- 21:35Speaker 1: I get taken advantage. I know, Well, that's why I
- 21:38Speaker 1: get taken advantage because I'm always I'm a trusting human being.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I want to put the trust in people when I
- 21:44Speaker 1: probably should be pretty skeptical. But judges are that way,
- 21:49Speaker 1: police officers are that way. I mean, we're human everybody,
- 21:55Speaker 1: and I'm picking on judges and police and I don't
- 21:57Speaker 1: mean to be, but everybody's that way. Sales reps are
- 22:01Speaker 1: that way. Even worse, they got to get the sale.
- 22:04Speaker 1: There's a lot of pressure on them. So yeah, text,
- 22:09Speaker 1: you're absolutely correct. There so anyway, I hate that for humanity,
- 22:15Speaker 1: and hopefully one day we are better about the part
- 22:19Speaker 1: that really scares me the most is driving today, because
- 22:23Speaker 1: I don't remember road rage, road rage, road rage? How
- 22:27Speaker 1: do you like that? Road rage being a thing when
- 22:29Speaker 1: I was younger, And it seems like it's just gotten
- 22:32Speaker 1: worse and worse. Why why is road rage that's a
- 22:35Speaker 1: big thing today? I don't really run across to you
- 22:39Speaker 1: don't know, Oh I do? Oh my god? Like in
- 22:43Speaker 1: what ways? Listen? I'm on I seventy or two seventy
- 22:49Speaker 1: five in Tampa, Florida two months ago. I never on Florida.
- 22:54Speaker 1: I never talked about it, but I had a guy
- 22:56Speaker 1: get upset with me because I pulled over. I didn't
- 22:59Speaker 1: cut him off. He sped up and I just kind
- 23:03Speaker 1: of waved at him, and he pulls out and the
- 23:06Speaker 1: left lane comes over, gets in front of me and
- 23:08Speaker 1: literally almost comes to a stop on a four lane expressway.
- 23:13Speaker 1: That's road rage right there. Yeah, so I've experienced it,
- 23:17Speaker 1: don't I don't deal with anything like that. Oh I
- 23:19Speaker 1: just listen. I tried my best to get around him
- 23:23Speaker 1: and just go away, and you know what I did,
- 23:25Speaker 1: I just slowed down. And he took off. I just
- 23:28Speaker 1: let him go. It's like, I'm not going to be
- 23:30Speaker 1: a part of that. I just I don't understand the
- 23:32Speaker 1: whole road rage thing. But one person or Josh texts
- 23:37Speaker 1: it out. Michael, at least that's your vocal cords getting
- 23:40Speaker 1: worn out instead of your throat muscles like some UK media.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I don't get that is there. I don't really want
- 23:49Speaker 1: to touch that. Oh you don't. I got to know
- 23:54Speaker 1: a little more so you understand the reference. I don't.
- 23:58Speaker 2: I not really, but I think I'm I'm picking up.
- 24:03Speaker 2: I don't know how to do that in a radio
- 24:05Speaker 2: safe way.
- 24:06Speaker 1: Oh it is okay? Oh oh of that way? Okay,
- 24:13Speaker 1: I got you all right then? So yeah, thank you, Josh,
- 24:17Speaker 1: well done, Josh. Yeah, I'm at anyway. All right? Then? Uh,
- 24:21Speaker 1: Michelle said, stop itching your poison Ivy Justice. I can't.
- 24:26Speaker 1: She's watching you on YouTube and noticing that you're scratching
- 24:30Speaker 1: your poison. Eye can't stop scratching where you Where does
- 24:33Speaker 1: it itch the most? So it's my chest for sure?
- 24:37Speaker 1: Your chest.
- 24:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it's like so I thought it was almost gone.
- 24:40Speaker 2: It looks pretty good on my arms and my legs now,
- 24:43Speaker 2: and it's drying.
- 24:44Speaker 1: Let me see, show me, show me your arm. Right now,
- 24:48Speaker 1: it does look better. It looks a hell of a
- 24:50Speaker 1: lot better. Yeah yeah, now from two days ago. Now
- 24:52Speaker 1: I got it all over my chest and it just
- 24:55Speaker 1: how does it keep spreading? I don't know. I'm when's
- 24:59Speaker 1: the last time you watched your bed sheets?
- 25:02Speaker 2: Did that? Like three days ago? And I put on
- 25:05Speaker 2: all new, fresh bread bed sheets and I actually have
- 25:08Speaker 2: already taken them off and washed them.
- 25:10Speaker 1: And that's just amazing because you might need to push
- 25:15Speaker 1: like the sanitizing button too. I'm just I'm so over it.
- 25:20Speaker 1: I don't blame you. I'm so over it. I don't
- 25:23Speaker 1: my goodness, I don't even know if I want you
- 25:25Speaker 1: in the same room with me. Well, okay, no, I
- 25:28Speaker 1: just I'm just joking. But no, that is just the
- 25:31Speaker 1: craziest thing. It's you. I can't pass it to you.
- 25:35Speaker 1: I hope not. I know not, but I don't know.
- 25:38Speaker 1: Let's get some doctors in here, now, are they airborne
- 25:43Speaker 1: poison ivy? Dude?
- 25:44Speaker 2: Trust me, I could get my PhD in poison ivy
- 25:46Speaker 2: at this point, I've done so much freaking research.
- 25:48Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh, Justin as Well said, shrinking is fantastic and
- 25:52Speaker 1: Harrison Ford makes that show good stuff. Bennett, Well, thank you.
- 25:57Speaker 1: Justin as well, Uh, I love I love it when
- 26:01Speaker 1: people call me by my last name. It does make
- 26:03Speaker 1: me laugh, But I agree Justin as Well, you're absolutely crest.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Harrison Ford does make that movie our show. Just go
- 26:12Speaker 1: watch it. He give it like three or four episodes.
- 26:15Speaker 1: The one episode where Jason Sigal is what his best
- 26:20Speaker 1: friend is getting engaged and they throw this big kind
- 26:25Speaker 1: of surprise engagement party and and the guy's gay and
- 26:28Speaker 1: he's asking his boyfriend to uh marry him and it's
- 26:33Speaker 1: it's a hat and the guy that's the gay friend.
- 26:37Speaker 1: He is unbelievably funny on this show. He's one of
- 26:40Speaker 1: my favorite characters. But but Jason Sideikas are sidecas. Jason
- 26:46Speaker 1: Sagal is supposed to be playing the piano and playing
- 26:49Speaker 1: you are so Beautiful to Me, you know that song
- 26:52Speaker 1: geziest song in the world, and he's supposed to be
- 26:55Speaker 1: playing it, and then all of a sudden, uh, you
- 26:58Speaker 1: notice he had he had way too much alcohol and
- 27:03Speaker 1: he takes over singing the song even though it's supposed
- 27:06Speaker 1: to be his gay friend that's singing it to his
- 27:09Speaker 1: partner and all of a sudden, Jason Skall starts throwing
- 27:15Speaker 1: up profusely all over the piano and it's the funniest
- 27:18Speaker 1: scene I've ever seen. I loved every second of it.
- 27:22Speaker 1: So it's hit on. It's on HBO, So you got
- 27:27Speaker 1: to get our apple? Was it Apple? No? No, no, no,
- 27:29Speaker 1: I might be wrong about I think it's Apple TV.
- 27:32Speaker 1: Somebody tell me Justin as well. You tell me because
- 27:35Speaker 1: you'll know. I think it's Apple TV. But it's It
- 27:39Speaker 1: is a brilliant show and Jason Skall, I believe developed
- 27:43Speaker 1: it as part of writing it is all his hands
- 27:46Speaker 1: are all in this show. But anyway, ul has said
- 27:50Speaker 1: they are operating at a thirty plus million budget deficit,
- 27:55Speaker 1: yet can pay all these players to come play for them?
- 27:59Speaker 1: Make that make sense? Doesn't doesn't make a lick of sense. No.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Josh Hurd has been all over talking about how they're
- 28:10Speaker 1: working in a deficit, yet Pat Kelsey continues to go
- 28:13Speaker 1: out and spend more money on basketball players. How do
- 28:17Speaker 1: you recoup that? Because your season tickets are set, they're
- 28:22Speaker 1: most likely sold out, so how do you make more money?
- 28:25Speaker 1: And then how can you go out there and say, well,
- 28:28Speaker 1: you know we're gonna get this player, this player, this player,
- 28:31Speaker 1: But yet we're in a thirty million dollars deficit. None
- 28:33Speaker 1: of that makes sense.
- 28:35Speaker 2: I mean, if you win the championship, it's all worth
- 28:38Speaker 2: it and makes sense. Well, but it doesn't help the deficit, doesn't.
- 28:41Speaker 1: Yeah, you think people are going to spend more money
- 28:43Speaker 1: just because you want a championship, Well, you get.
- 28:45Speaker 2: I mean the longer you're in the tournament, the more
- 28:47Speaker 2: TV money you get.
- 28:48Speaker 1: Right, tell me about the ACC. Is it shared like
- 28:54Speaker 1: the SEC? I would say the answer is yes, but
- 28:59Speaker 1: they don't generate the money that the SEC does. So uh,
- 29:05Speaker 1: you know with all the teams that would go to
- 29:07Speaker 1: the bowl games before before college football playoffs, Uh, they
- 29:10Speaker 1: would generate that money plus part of that money would
- 29:14Speaker 1: be going back into the kitty for the SEC, and
- 29:17Speaker 1: they share all that money with every single team. I
- 29:20Speaker 1: don't know how the ACC is. Yes, I would have,
- 29:25Speaker 1: well you would think so, but you never know. One
- 29:30Speaker 1: person said, Michael, they have no shooting at U of L.
- 29:36Speaker 1: Is that true?
- 29:37Speaker 2: I mean yeah, I mean that would be the one
- 29:39Speaker 2: concern for sure. I mean, he's gonna chlse. Dad's not
- 29:46Speaker 2: gonna be your shooter. Trimble's Tremble could probably you could.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Maybe you can't say Tremble. Yes, you can maybe see
- 29:53Speaker 2: an uptick with his percentage next year, But historically throughout
- 29:57Speaker 2: his career he hasn't been great.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Well, he wasn't young, so he averaged what was it,
- 30:03Speaker 1: I think it was like fourteen seventeen points a game.
- 30:06Speaker 1: That's not bad shooting. That's pretty a good amount of
- 30:11Speaker 1: points that you're bringing on that team. Yeah, but I'm
- 30:14Speaker 1: with you again. I go back to the point. Pat
- 30:17Speaker 1: Kelsey is the coach. So that's that's all I need
- 30:20Speaker 1: to say. Pat Kelsey's the coach. I don't have any
- 30:22Speaker 1: faith in that guy. And I just okay, I won't
- 30:26Speaker 1: go back. Michael, if Squints can get Wendy Peppercorn, he
- 30:33Speaker 1: should be able to get U of L to the
- 30:35Speaker 1: Sweet sixteen. That's true. Really Okay, So Squints can't get
- 30:41Speaker 1: Wendy Peppercorn. Yeah you've seen that movie. Yeah, actually he
- 30:45Speaker 1: couldn't get her. No, he could. And I was gonna say,
- 30:49Speaker 1: Butter Bennett is showing a cinnamon butter hate this morning.
- 30:52Speaker 1: I just ye, it's disgusting. It's easy to hate on
- 30:55Speaker 1: it because cinnamon is probably the least favorite flavor of
- 30:59Speaker 1: mine and I don't. And it's not even part of
- 31:02Speaker 1: the favorites. It's if I could get rid of one spice,
- 31:05Speaker 1: it would be cinnamon. Oh that would destroy my fireball.
- 31:09Speaker 1: Oh that's right, it would, wouldn't it. I would I
- 31:11Speaker 1: have to hunt you down. That would that would ruin
- 31:14Speaker 1: Richard Rigney's whole wealth and company and all that kind
- 31:18Speaker 1: of stuff. You don't even know who that is. But
- 31:21Speaker 1: it's not. Do You've told me a million times? I
- 31:23Speaker 1: might tell you a billion one? Okay, Yes, Cinnamon's terrible. Uh.
- 31:28Speaker 1: Do you not like cement toast as a kid? No?
- 31:31Speaker 1: I didn't like cinnamon. Uh what are the roles they
- 31:34Speaker 1: have in the cinnamon rolls? Cinnamon buns, cinnamon buns? Yeah,
- 31:37Speaker 1: I don't like that. You didn't like cinnamon toast crunch? Nope, No, disgusting.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I told you what I liked. There are two things
- 31:44Speaker 1: I grew up with, count chocula and fruit loops. And
- 31:48Speaker 1: when they invented the fruit loops with marshmallows, greatest invention
- 31:52Speaker 1: in the world. Of course, I gained probably three thousand
- 31:56Speaker 1: pounds eating that every single morning. And it was not nutrition.
- 32:02Speaker 1: It just simply was not U of L combo deal
- 32:08Speaker 1: at Cardinal Stadium this year, beering hot dog for fifty dollars.
- 32:13Speaker 1: It wasn't that much, was it. I mean it was
- 32:16Speaker 1: it was probably what fifteen dollars. Come on, guys, you
- 32:21Speaker 1: know how they are swimming in all this CW money
- 32:24Speaker 1: over there on Florid Street. Yeah, they probably are sharing
- 32:29Speaker 1: money with one tree. Heel. Oh is that what it is? Yeah?
- 32:33Speaker 1: Local John said, Michael, you were spitting facts this morning
- 32:38Speaker 1: about IU football. Laugh out loud. How do you like
- 32:41Speaker 1: these apples justin you know, are running your mouth about
- 32:49Speaker 1: Indiana football. Oh my gosh, you know you were just
- 32:53Speaker 1: missing with a messing with you. But seriously, I cannot
- 32:57Speaker 1: wait to see what Kentucky football can do this year,
- 33:00Speaker 1: and I do believe, without a doubt, IU football will
- 33:03Speaker 1: not win at all. Oh my gosh. Okay, we gotta
- 33:08Speaker 1: take a break. But when we come back, I do
- 33:11Speaker 1: want to talk about a couple of things, and please
- 33:14Speaker 1: keep sitting your text. I'll get to them. But yes,
- 33:17Speaker 1: I want to talk about fan experiences at UK this year.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Have you seen this stuff? No? But I'm excited to
- 33:25Speaker 1: talk about it. Oh, I'm real excited to talk about this.
- 33:28Speaker 1: So we're going to talk about the fan experiences that
- 33:30Speaker 1: you can actually go by. Again. UK is just doing
- 33:34Speaker 1: amazing stuff and it makes me very excited. If I
- 33:37Speaker 1: wasn't part of the media, I would be all in
- 33:39Speaker 1: on every single one. Just to let you know, right now,
- 33:42Speaker 1: Fible two three and four fourteen fifty, you want to
- 33:44Speaker 1: call in Fable two four to win four fourteen fifty,
- 33:46Speaker 1: want to text in on the Whiskey Thief text line.
- 33:48Speaker 1: And plus we're going to talk a little about a
- 33:52Speaker 1: little later, a little bit about Rod Stewart, some I
- 33:56Speaker 1: kind of hated, but I'd like to see him in
- 33:59Speaker 1: cont But anyway, stay right there. More Justicat's coming right now.
- 34:15Speaker 1: Say I'm not slag. I'm gonna educated opinion. What does
- 34:36Speaker 1: the studio mean? Kunjas? I do like that song, but
- 34:42Speaker 1: uh yeah, uh five O two three eight four fourteen
- 34:46Speaker 1: fifty if you want to call in five O two
- 34:48Speaker 1: four four fourteen fifty, you want to text in on
- 34:50Speaker 1: the Whiskey deep text on thank you text he It
- 34:53Speaker 1: took a little bit, but I got it. I got
- 34:55Speaker 1: the joke. Okay, So I I and I'm not going
- 34:58Speaker 1: back and I'm not going to read it's a it's
- 35:00Speaker 1: a blank joke. So okay, I I got it. Thank you.
- 35:03Speaker 1: I appreciate you explaining that to me. I just I
- 35:05Speaker 1: wasn't expecting that from Josh. I think is what threw
- 35:08Speaker 1: me off. Okay, because Josh is relatively relatively clean for
- 35:13Speaker 1: me to read his text on the text line. But okay,
- 35:19Speaker 1: but today's wordsn't do you never know what you're gonna get. Yeah,
- 35:23Speaker 1: I got it. Uh. One person said, Uh, the extra
- 35:27Speaker 1: nil to add him is from from donors, not the school.
- 35:31Speaker 1: It doesn't add to the deficit. Okay, So then how
- 35:41Speaker 1: does the school get out of the deficit. Don't they
- 35:43Speaker 1: need to get the money from the donors. I have
- 35:48Speaker 1: no idea. I know I have so many different levels. No,
- 35:53Speaker 1: I'm not asking, I'm asking in general because a lot
- 35:56Speaker 1: of times when I ask a question, I'm asking the
- 35:58Speaker 1: question to me. And and there's so many levels are
- 36:04Speaker 1: not necessarily levels, but different facets within college athletics. They
- 36:09Speaker 1: used to be just the athletic department. That's it. The
- 36:12Speaker 1: money went straight to the athletic department and they use
- 36:14Speaker 1: it for whatever they need. Now you got the nil,
- 36:17Speaker 1: you got the athletic department. You got so many different
- 36:20Speaker 1: areas where money, they need money, and it's just like, okay,
- 36:25Speaker 1: thirty million dollars deficit. I expect one day it's going
- 36:30Speaker 1: to be well over one hundred million dollars where these
- 36:33Speaker 1: athletic departments are in a total deficit like that, and
- 36:35Speaker 1: then they are going to get to the point of desperation.
- 36:38Speaker 1: And that's what you see. For instance, the example that
- 36:41Speaker 1: we used a couple of days ago, LSU having private
- 36:45Speaker 1: equity BYU private equity. And guess what. These schools do
- 36:50Speaker 1: not know how to run a business. So therefore they
- 36:54Speaker 1: run through that money because that's all they know how
- 36:56Speaker 1: to do. They know how to spend. They don't know
- 36:58Speaker 1: how to actually budget and run that money in a
- 37:03Speaker 1: in a positive way. They just know when they get
- 37:06Speaker 1: that money, it's spin. They spend it till it's zero. Well,
- 37:09Speaker 1: you can't do that anymore of it sounds like you're
- 37:11Speaker 1: describing me. Oh you can't do that. Yeah, I love
- 37:15Speaker 1: how you text me last night. Do you mind asking
- 37:18Speaker 1: my wife? Your wife? Uh, well, if she had some money,
- 37:24Speaker 1: what would you do with it? And like you're looking
- 37:26Speaker 1: for free advice. I was just curious, No, I was
- 37:31Speaker 1: you know me, I don't have the extra money. But yeah,
- 37:33Speaker 1: I was simply just thinking, if you had a good
- 37:36Speaker 1: chunk of money, what what would be the best to
- 37:38Speaker 1: do with it in these days? Yeah, and she gave
- 37:40Speaker 1: you the answer, so hopefully you don't you utilize that.
- 37:44Speaker 1: But I need the money for her. One person said,
- 37:46Speaker 1: ACC is the same as the SEC. Uh, but game
- 37:51Speaker 1: viewership plays a role in the split, so it's not equal. Yeah. Uh,
- 37:56Speaker 1: And SEC proves to everyone out there that's the reason
- 38:00Speaker 1: why the ESPN pays all this money for SEC. Because
- 38:05Speaker 1: of viewership, people continue to watch the SEC far more
- 38:09Speaker 1: than anybody else. Close. Second is big ten, nobody is close.
- 38:14Speaker 1: After that, nobody is close. I think Fox does a
- 38:18Speaker 1: nice job. It just doesn't entertain me as much as
- 38:21Speaker 1: the ESPN. And it's probably because I'm used to and
- 38:25Speaker 1: I get to a point where I like certain announcers.
- 38:28Speaker 1: That's why you've heard me say this many times justin
- 38:31Speaker 1: I miss CBS because I did enjoy those announcers and
- 38:35Speaker 1: switching over. At least I was accustomed to some of
- 38:38Speaker 1: the ESPN announcers because you had, you know, Thursday night games,
- 38:42Speaker 1: you had Saturday games on ESPN and CBS. But I
- 38:46Speaker 1: miss the CBS ones. Now you just get j Billis
- 38:49Speaker 1: or Jimmy.
- 38:51Speaker 2: Who's the other guy, Jimmy Jimmy jim Yeah, I cannot
- 38:56Speaker 2: think of his name.
- 38:57Speaker 1: And see he was assistant coach under a sudden at UK. Oh. Well,
- 39:02Speaker 1: all I can think is Jimmy Kimmel and I'm not
- 39:04Speaker 1: a fan of But one person said, or Justin as
- 39:09Speaker 1: Well said, yes, Apple TV. So there you go to
- 39:12Speaker 1: watch Drinking, you gotta go to Do you have Apple TV? Uh?
- 39:15Speaker 1: Not sure? Off the check?
- 39:18Speaker 2: Really yeah, Look, there's so many streaming things now, I know,
- 39:22Speaker 2: I couldn't tell you which ones I have and which
- 39:24Speaker 2: ones I.
- 39:24Speaker 1: Don't, uh, he said. Brent Goldstein is one of the
- 39:28Speaker 1: other big writers on Shrinking. He's the one that plays
- 39:31Speaker 1: Roy Kent in ted Lasso and is also in Shrinking.
- 39:35Speaker 1: He's the guy in the in the accident trying not
- 39:38Speaker 1: to give any spoilers to anyone that's not watched. I
- 39:42Speaker 1: forgot that. So you remember the guy that was real
- 39:45Speaker 1: grouchy and mean that Roy Kent was his character's name
- 39:51Speaker 1: in ted Lasso. Never watched Ted I know ninety nine
- 39:59Speaker 1: point nine percent some of the people in America, including
- 40:02Speaker 1: the guy you're talking to right now, has even watched
- 40:05Speaker 1: Ted last I know, I never I never fired it up. Man, Okay,
- 40:11Speaker 1: well that's another show that just came out for its
- 40:13Speaker 1: fourth season. Did they? Are they with a new team? Now?
- 40:17Speaker 1: Aren't they with a women's soccer team? See that? I
- 40:20Speaker 1: can't answer. I have not. Only the first episode has
- 40:24Speaker 1: dropped so far. I haven't watched it yet. A lot
- 40:27Speaker 1: of people are saying, listen, it's nice. It's nice to
- 40:30Speaker 1: see everybody back. But and then here comes the butt.
- 40:35Speaker 1: We should have ended it like we did last year,
- 40:38Speaker 1: but everybody begged for it to come back. I don't know.
- 40:40Speaker 1: I haven't decided if I want to watch it or not. Yeah,
- 40:43Speaker 1: they're what a a women's team? Now? Are they? Okay?
- 40:51Speaker 1: Do they win games? Like? Have they won a game
- 40:54Speaker 1: since like last May? I mean, I don't know, is
- 40:56Speaker 1: this real? What do you mean? Or is this all like, oh,
- 41:00Speaker 1: it's all fictional. Yeah, it's all fictional. So uh. One
- 41:04Speaker 1: person said, let me make sure I get fruit loops
- 41:08Speaker 1: with marshmallows. Is just lucky Charms? No it is not.
- 41:12Speaker 1: That's blasphemy, right, Jamie. No, No, fruit loops tastes like fruit.
- 41:17Speaker 1: Lucky Charms taste like disgusting cardboard time out Lucky Charms
- 41:23Speaker 1: is not good. Fruit loops do not taste like fruit.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Oh they do too. It's all very much sweet fruit.
- 41:29Speaker 1: Oh delicious, they're sweet like fruit. Oh no, it's it's
- 41:33Speaker 1: fruit loops. Don't you talk about bad about my fruit
- 41:37Speaker 1: loop too late? Well, you're wrong about that. Fruit loops
- 41:40Speaker 1: is the greatest invention for cereal ever known to mankind.
- 41:44Speaker 1: So and I don't think I could eat it now
- 41:46Speaker 1: because you talk about being wiry. That would make me
- 41:50Speaker 1: go off the edge. If I had a bowl of
- 41:52Speaker 1: fruit loops right now, let's try it sometimes. No, let's not.
- 41:55Speaker 1: That's not good. That would not be good for me.
- 41:58Speaker 1: One person, I had not had bread in six months
- 42:02Speaker 1: due to low carb diet and gave in. I have
- 42:05Speaker 1: to tell you the rolls and cinnamon butter was amazing. Well,
- 42:09Speaker 1: the roles are cinnamon butter. No, I mean, there are
- 42:13Speaker 1: so many other things that I despise I would rather
- 42:15Speaker 1: have before having the cinnamon butter. So you can have
- 42:19Speaker 1: your old cinnamon butter. I'm not doing it. There's two
- 42:22Speaker 1: things this show. People that listen to this show know
- 42:26Speaker 1: that I regularly do not like. I do not like
- 42:30Speaker 1: cinnamon butter, and I do not like the chick filla.
- 42:35Speaker 1: I just can't go there. The lines are always long,
- 42:38Speaker 1: and I'm just not doing. You know the thing what
- 42:42Speaker 1: they say when you leave, okay, my pleasure, it's not
- 42:47Speaker 1: your pleasure. It's just not going to be your pleasure,
- 42:51Speaker 1: especially talking to me. Tulane. Can we talk about them
- 42:54Speaker 1: for a second. Tulane dropped their brand new unis for
- 42:58Speaker 1: this upcoming football seat and I gotta tell you, oh,
- 43:01Speaker 1: you gotta look him up. They're called the City Edition
- 43:04Speaker 1: Marti Gras unis and I gotta tell you the green
- 43:08Speaker 1: Wave man. They did it this year. They are absolutely amazing.
- 43:13Speaker 1: If you have not seen their brand new uniforms, they
- 43:17Speaker 1: are unbelievably awesome. I ranked those up there with the
- 43:22Speaker 1: helmet's navy head a few years back of a different
- 43:25Speaker 1: ship on their helmets. They were awesome. These two lane
- 43:29Speaker 1: ones that have the Marti Gras all over their helmet,
- 43:32Speaker 1: They're just unbelievable. And that green with the purple, I
- 43:36Speaker 1: know those are terrible colors, but that's that's a Marti
- 43:40Speaker 1: Gras color right there traditionally, and it looks fantastic. The
- 43:44Speaker 1: helmet looks really awesome. You like it, don't y? Yeah?
- 43:47Speaker 1: As soon as I saw that, AM like, Okay. I
- 43:51Speaker 1: wonder how John summer Off feels about those. I would
- 43:53Speaker 1: love to ask him, but I thought they were just
- 43:56Speaker 1: the greatest thing, and I wouldn't care. I think he cares.
- 44:01Speaker 1: But yeah, he's he's gone. He's detached himself from two
- 44:04Speaker 1: Lane since he's now at Florida. But I thought that
- 44:07Speaker 1: was pretty cool. But congratulations to them for making making
- 44:12Speaker 1: a great uniform. Uh. Uh. Travis Kelsey spoke about his wedding.
- 44:19Speaker 1: Did you see this mid football? Well, I'm bringing it
- 44:24Speaker 1: up and I I really and I'm bringing up because
- 44:28Speaker 1: I realized I only got a couple of minutes to
- 44:30Speaker 1: talk before we got to take a break. Uh. But
- 44:32Speaker 1: he did it amid training camp. Uh. Said it was
- 44:36Speaker 1: a fun off season event and it was a real
- 44:41Speaker 1: bucket list for him. Did you see who initiated who?
- 44:44Speaker 1: Uh did the officiated ceremony? That part freaked me out. Apparently,
- 44:52Speaker 1: from what I've heard, if you don't know, hold on,
- 44:55Speaker 1: if you don't know, Adam Sandler officiated the wedding go ahead.
- 44:59Speaker 1: From what I've heard, that was Travis's only request really
- 45:03Speaker 1: that he gets to pick the official interesting, and he
- 45:07Speaker 1: went with Adam Sandler. I think that's awesome, do you really?
- 45:10Speaker 1: I just I would be scared Adam Sandler would be
- 45:14Speaker 1: doing one of his crazy voices in the middle of it. Fine, No,
- 45:18Speaker 1: it's not fine to me. Wedding should be fairly serious.
- 45:21Speaker 1: He was the dude who was wearing basketball shorts probably
- 45:25Speaker 1: that's another thing, and probably a hoodie on top of it.
- 45:29Speaker 1: So fas it really, he'd be should like, here comes
- 45:36Speaker 1: here comes Travison, here comes Kuls or whatever her name is,
- 45:41Speaker 1: and that's It's like, no, please don't do this. We're
- 45:44Speaker 1: trying to be somewhat serious in our wedding. I think
- 45:47Speaker 1: that may be the first, the first imitation I've ever
- 45:51Speaker 1: heard you do. It was pretty spot on. It was terrible.
- 45:55Speaker 1: I'm just like, please don't do that. I'm just no,
- 45:58Speaker 1: we can't do that. I mean, or are one of
- 46:01Speaker 1: his characters from I don't know which, probably what's the
- 46:04Speaker 1: one where That's My Boy? That one right there? Horrible?
- 46:08Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, what if he started doing the invitation
- 46:11Speaker 1: of That's My Boy. No, that's such a bad movie. No, Well,
- 46:15Speaker 1: the funny part is that actually happened that the co
- 46:18Speaker 1: character in that movie with him. When the other actor
- 46:24Speaker 1: in that movie got married, he said he invited Adam
- 46:28Speaker 1: Sandler to come, and Adam Sandler dressed as his dad
- 46:32Speaker 1: from that movie That's my boy. Now that's funny as
- 46:37Speaker 1: a guess, but when you're officiating a wedding, you can't
- 46:40Speaker 1: do that. All right, We gotta take a break five
- 46:42Speaker 1: O two three eight four fourteen fifty five O two
- 46:44Speaker 1: four one four fourteen fifty When we come back, Wait
- 46:47Speaker 1: till you hear what UK is doing football season. Stay
- 46:50Speaker 1: right there. Hour two coming right up. Welcome to Just
- 47:08Speaker 1: the Cats with Michael Bennett. All right, hour number two.
- 47:16Speaker 1: On this Thursday Friday, what's that? Slash Friday? Okay, slash Friday?
- 47:22Speaker 1: All right, there you go Friday for me. But anyway, yeah,
- 47:25Speaker 1: I'm going to take the day off tomorrow. And uh,
- 47:29Speaker 1: you know here's the thing about it. I literally have
- 47:32Speaker 1: no plans. I just wanted to take a day off.
- 47:36Speaker 1: I never do that. I that's exactly right. And I
- 47:40Speaker 1: told my wife it and she goes, what I'm like,
- 47:43Speaker 1: are you mad? She goes, No, you never do that.
- 47:46Speaker 1: It's like I just wanted, she goes. She was proud
- 47:48Speaker 1: of me and are you really, I just because I'm
- 47:53Speaker 1: learning more the older I get how to take care
- 47:56Speaker 1: of myself, and I know there comes a time now
- 47:58Speaker 1: that it's like, Okay, I just one day, I just
- 48:02Speaker 1: I was thinking about taking a week off, but then
- 48:05Speaker 1: I just I got so much going on right now
- 48:08Speaker 1: between getting ready for football season and the radio show,
- 48:11Speaker 1: and then I got you know, uh, the horse racing stuff,
- 48:14Speaker 1: and you can go check that out because we're getting
- 48:16Speaker 1: closer and closer to doings some racing. Yeah, but you
- 48:20Speaker 1: can go check that out seeing killstable dot com and
- 48:22Speaker 1: you can see my website and I'll it and see
- 48:24Speaker 1: all the horses. The horses we we pin hooked and uh,
- 48:28Speaker 1: which was very successful. So we're trying to raise that
- 48:31Speaker 1: money right now for people that want to join a
- 48:33Speaker 1: pinhooking deal.
- 48:34Speaker 2: You know how close I was to wearing that hat
- 48:36Speaker 2: this morning and then you show up in it, We
- 48:38Speaker 2: would have been twins.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Well this is a different one, that's true. Course I
- 48:42Speaker 1: got I got more colors, so yeah, I got I
- 48:45Speaker 1: got so you got the navy blue one. There were
- 48:48Speaker 1: white ones. I got these royal blue ones, and I
- 48:50Speaker 1: got some kelly green ones that really look good. I
- 48:54Speaker 1: like to kill. I'll take please, Okay, all right then,
- 48:57Speaker 1: uh but uh, anyway, I just I just thought I'm
- 49:01Speaker 1: going to take a day off, so and so I
- 49:03Speaker 1: didn't take a week off. But and I don't know
- 49:06Speaker 1: where I'm gonna take a I would like to take
- 49:08Speaker 1: about a week off. I can't, No, I can't at all.
- 49:11Speaker 1: You can't until next al April. Yeah, yeah, April if
- 49:16Speaker 1: things go well. Yeah, but uh, hopefully things go well,
- 49:20Speaker 1: but exactly in a multitude of ways. But yeah, go
- 49:24Speaker 1: check out the website.
- 49:25Speaker 2: We'll get three days off or two days off at
- 49:28Speaker 2: least for Thanksgiving.
- 49:29Speaker 1: Well, and of course you forget about Labor Day. We'll
- 49:33Speaker 1: get a day off there too, that's coming up. What
- 49:35Speaker 1: two weeks Labor Day. I mean, it's still just hard
- 49:40Speaker 1: for me to believe that summer is over. Kids are
- 49:43Speaker 1: back in school, and it still feels like June to me.
- 49:48Speaker 1: That's the part. I just time flies, but especially when
- 49:52Speaker 1: you're having a lot of fun. One person texted in.
- 49:54Speaker 1: The lines are long at Chick fil A, but they
- 49:57Speaker 1: are quite efficient. That's super fast Texas Roadhouse. Hey Chick
- 50:01Speaker 1: fil A hate how do you feel about Culver's Michael? Ah,
- 50:05Speaker 1: that's a great question. That is a great question. I
- 50:10Speaker 1: actually really like Culver's. Yeah, and you know how I
- 50:14Speaker 1: do not like soft serve ice cream. I do like theirs.
- 50:19Speaker 1: Theirs is really good. Get a little hot fudge and
- 50:22Speaker 1: the walnuts in it and some whip cream on top.
- 50:26Speaker 1: A Michael's very happy. Michael channeling his inner Triumph the
- 50:31Speaker 1: Insult dogg to boop on everything this morning? Did you
- 50:35Speaker 1: ever watch that? Well, you didn't watch Conan O'Brien. No,
- 50:38Speaker 1: Robert Schmigel. If I said that name, do you know
- 50:41Speaker 1: who I'm talking about? I'm familiar with Triumphs. Okay, well
- 50:44Speaker 1: do you know who Triumph the Band or Triumph the Dog,
- 50:48Speaker 1: Comic Insult Dog. Yeah? I love that guy the time.
- 50:52Speaker 1: You could go watch a lot of his stuff. So
- 50:54Speaker 1: that's Robert Schmigel who did that. Robert Schmigel has been
- 50:59Speaker 1: in a number of Adam Sandler movies. He's an unbelievably
- 51:06Speaker 1: funny comedian and so he does Triumph the Comic Insult
- 51:11Speaker 1: or the Insult Comic Dog, and I just I love
- 51:14Speaker 1: that guy. But when he goes there and he's at
- 51:17Speaker 1: a Star Wars premiere and he sees who's the guy
- 51:21Speaker 1: that wears all the black. It was James Earl Jones
- 51:25Speaker 1: Characterator Dark Vader, and he goes up to him says,
- 51:28Speaker 1: which one of these numbers calls your parents to come
- 51:31Speaker 1: pick you up? I mean I lost it when I
- 51:33Speaker 1: heard that, and the guy even behind the costume is
- 51:36Speaker 1: dying laughing. But yeah, triumphing. That's a great call right there, Jamie.
- 51:40Speaker 1: So I love that one as well. Guys, I think
- 51:43Speaker 1: you should do a remote from the Friday Breeders Cup
- 51:45Speaker 1: at Keenlan Ooh, that's a great suggestion. When is that November?
- 51:53Speaker 1: That's October thirtieth, I believe thirty or thirty first, I
- 51:57Speaker 1: believe Saturday Breeders Cup is Halloween and the thirties is
- 52:01Speaker 1: the Friday before. That would be fun. I would, I would.
- 52:05Speaker 1: I would consider doing that if you got, if you
- 52:06Speaker 1: got somebody that would like to sponsor us, I think
- 52:10Speaker 1: we'd be down for that. No, I'm in yeah, without
- 52:14Speaker 1: a doubt. I've never been have you what you've never been?
- 52:17Speaker 1: To King? You have the same reaction every time I
- 52:19Speaker 1: say it. I can't believe that never. Okay, Well, when
- 52:24Speaker 1: when we race a horse there you're coming with Okay,
- 52:27Speaker 1: you're coming with I'm not wearing a tie. Sorry, you're
- 52:30Speaker 1: wearing a tie, then you won't be able to get in.
- 52:33Speaker 1: It's ridiculous. You'll be able to sit outside and with
- 52:37Speaker 1: everybody else, but you know, all the other people will
- 52:40Speaker 1: be inside and their fancy schmancy crap because you gotta
- 52:44Speaker 1: wear a tide keen. I'm with you right there. Listen.
- 52:47Speaker 1: If I have a nice pair of pants and collared shirt,
- 52:50Speaker 1: maybe a blazer on, I'm good with that. You should.
- 52:53Speaker 1: You should be.
- 52:53Speaker 2: Able to get into anywhere you want dressed like your
- 52:56Speaker 2: dress today. Yeah, just dress, pants and a shirt.
- 52:59Speaker 1: I agree, And that's why most places are for the
- 53:02Speaker 1: for that fact. So uh but anyway, all right, I
- 53:06Speaker 1: I I do want to talk about this Blue White
- 53:08Speaker 1: Memories because I gotta tell you, uh, I think it
- 53:14Speaker 1: might be one of the coolest things I've seen. Do
- 53:19Speaker 1: you know anything about what I'm talking about? Really? Okay? Uh? So,
- 53:26Speaker 1: I was pretty offline yesterday, were you? Yeah?
- 53:30Speaker 2: And I didn't why? I don't know, I just I wasn't.
- 53:33Speaker 2: I wasn't on social media a lot yesterday. I did
- 53:35Speaker 2: not watch any sports yesterday.
- 53:37Speaker 1: Okay. So UK has has introduced something called Blue White,
- 53:42Speaker 1: Blue and White Memories. H gives Big Blue Nation access
- 53:46Speaker 1: to exclusive experiences across Kentucky Athletics, from on field and
- 53:50Speaker 1: courtside opportunities to video board messages, special celebrations, behind the
- 53:55Speaker 1: scenes moments. These unique experiences bring fans closer to the
- 53:58Speaker 1: teams they love, so for football, they are offering pregame
- 54:05Speaker 1: field access, pregame my Old Kentucky Home run out. Huh,
- 54:12Speaker 1: what's pregame Old Kentucky. Well, let's let me run through
- 54:15Speaker 1: that and then we'll describe a little more run out
- 54:17Speaker 1: with the Wildcats for team intros, coin toss delivery experience,
- 54:23Speaker 1: opening kickoff tea retrieval experience, video board message proposals, Wildcat
- 54:29Speaker 1: Marching Band, halftime performance experience, and third quarter break on
- 54:33Speaker 1: field experience. All right, Which, so you don't understand what
- 54:38Speaker 1: the the Mile Kentucky Home one be a part of
- 54:42Speaker 1: the Kentucky's most cherish game traditions and what you'll be doing.
- 54:48Speaker 1: Join the Wildcat Marching Band, Spirit squads and fellow Wildcats
- 54:53Speaker 1: before kickoff as Kroger Field becomes together to see Mile
- 54:57Speaker 1: Kentucky Home, feel the energy, seeing a lot, cheer with
- 55:01Speaker 1: the crowd, and experience this unforbid forgetable pregame moment from
- 55:05Speaker 1: a truly unique perspective, it's once in a lifetime opportunity
- 55:08Speaker 1: being at the heart of the UK football tradition and
- 55:11Speaker 1: doesn't tell me anymore. So I have no idea.
- 55:14Speaker 2: Once in a lifetime opportunity until now to do what?
- 55:16Speaker 2: Until next year? Yeah, to do what exactly? I guess
- 55:19Speaker 2: you're down on the field while the band is playing this.
- 55:23Speaker 1: I'm not a.
- 55:23Speaker 2: Big You're gonna hate me, but I'm not a big
- 55:25Speaker 2: my old Kentucky Home fan, So that's that's out for me.
- 55:30Speaker 1: I don't really care to do that. To do what?
- 55:32Speaker 1: To do? The mild Kentucky Home one? Okay? And why
- 55:37Speaker 1: don't you like that one? I just don't like that song? Really? Wow,
- 55:42Speaker 1: I know, I know.
- 55:44Speaker 2: The only time I enjoy my Old Kentucky Home is
- 55:47Speaker 2: when I'm at Churchill and you've got one hundred and
- 55:49Speaker 2: fifty thousand people singing. That's the only time I ever
- 55:53Speaker 2: liked that song. Okay, I would have to say, you know,
- 55:57Speaker 2: pregame is kind of cool.
- 56:00Speaker 1: I think running out of the tone would be. That's
- 56:02Speaker 1: what I'm getting ready to say.
- 56:04Speaker 2: Although those are Nick Rouse said yesterday, though they're sold
- 56:07Speaker 2: out other than Youngstown.
- 56:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Can you imagine if UK for some wild reason
- 56:14Speaker 1: is undefeated, uh into the fourth game and I'm thinking, okay,
- 56:21Speaker 1: that would be fun. They got it offered for video
- 56:25Speaker 1: messages for volleyball basketball, you got pregame catwalk. That's one
- 56:30Speaker 1: thing that UK football student too, is you can do
- 56:33Speaker 1: the catwalk game ball delivery, starting lineup, high fives. That's
- 56:41Speaker 1: pretty cool for basketball proposals, postgame free throws, and VIP
- 56:48Speaker 1: postgame radio show. So I'm assuming that what I want.
- 56:52Speaker 1: I'm assuming you're sitting down there with Tom Leach and
- 56:55Speaker 1: Jack Gimmons for that. The proposal thing, I think is
- 56:59Speaker 1: a great idea. I think the I think it's kind
- 57:02Speaker 1: of popular at football and basketball. I mean more people
- 57:06Speaker 1: are probably going to give it for basketball than they
- 57:08Speaker 1: will for football. But listen, I I would do that,
- 57:14Speaker 1: but my wife would hate it because she was not
- 57:16Speaker 1: a UK fan. Now, how much do you think some
- 57:20Speaker 1: of this stuff is? How much do you think a
- 57:22Speaker 1: video proposal is?
- 57:25Speaker 2: I'm gonna say so it was. I know it was
- 57:27Speaker 2: like what two hundred and eighty seven to run out
- 57:28Speaker 2: of the tonal with the football guys.
- 57:30Speaker 1: Yes, that's on Youngstown State proposal probably six hundred uh
- 57:38Speaker 1: A proposal will cost. You're right on it. Did you
- 57:42Speaker 1: know this? No? Because you did, you nailed it. It's
- 57:45Speaker 1: five hundred and seventy one dollars. Okay, go me. Yeah,
- 57:50Speaker 1: the whole Wildcat Marching Band halftime performance is a little pricey.
- 57:53Speaker 1: It's five seventy one. I was kind of surprised about it.
- 57:56Speaker 1: We are pulling these numbers for and why is it
- 57:59Speaker 1: so random? Right? Because you look at the pregame access
- 58:03Speaker 1: it's two hundred and nineteen two hundred dollars nineteen cents. Okay.
- 58:09Speaker 1: The one you don't want to do, the mile of
- 58:11Speaker 1: Kentucky Home is two hundred and eighty five dollars and
- 58:13Speaker 1: eighty six cents. That's so weird. It is weird. Why
- 58:17Speaker 1: can't you just make it three hundred dollars two hundred
- 58:21Speaker 1: dollars two fifty The video board message is one hundred
- 58:24Speaker 1: and seventy one dollars sixty four cents. I just don't
- 58:27Speaker 1: get where the sense is coming from. You can do
- 58:30Speaker 1: a happy birthday, I love you or something along that.
- 58:33Speaker 1: I don't know. I mean I should if I was
- 58:35Speaker 1: to do one of the video board things, I would
- 58:37Speaker 1: consider that, But what would I put up there? Uh,
- 58:41Speaker 1: your stable? Oh that's a great but that's advertising though
- 58:46Speaker 1: they would probably foresee that it's not something personal that
- 58:48Speaker 1: would be advertising. But that's a great idea.
- 58:51Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, well then if they'll see that as advertising
- 58:53Speaker 2: to just go put a scene to kill, shirt on and.
- 58:56Speaker 1: A hat, a little sign. Yeah yeah, yeah, because you
- 59:01Speaker 1: can't do it live, it's gotta be I don't know,
- 59:04Speaker 1: I think what they I don't think it's well, it's
- 59:06Speaker 1: a video board message, yeah, but video board. I don't
- 59:09Speaker 1: think it's gonna be a picture of Michael Bennett. I
- 59:11Speaker 1: think it's gonna be words across the video board. I
- 59:15Speaker 1: bet you is what it is. So I listen. I
- 59:18Speaker 1: like this idea. I like that UK is doing this
- 59:22Speaker 1: because you know, there's gotta be a number of people,
- 59:24Speaker 1: just like the young lady that didn't we talk to
- 59:26Speaker 1: her a couple of years ago. They got married, Yeah,
- 59:29Speaker 1: at Commonwealth Stadium on the field, which I thought was
- 59:31Speaker 1: really cool. I thought that was awesome right there. I'm
- 59:35Speaker 1: all about the blue and white memories. And I can
- 59:39Speaker 1: tell you my wife would not have liked this, but
- 59:42Speaker 1: that's because she went to Vanderbilt, so sue me, but
- 59:44Speaker 1: I'm please don't. But anyway, after eighteen seasons, NBA great
- 59:50Speaker 1: Russell Westbrook called it quits. I didn't realize it had
- 59:55Speaker 1: been eighteen seasons for him, Yeah it was. I didn't
- 59:58Speaker 1: think it had been that long either for Oklahoma City
- 1:00:01Speaker 1: the longest, Houston, Washington, LA Clippers, and the Lakers, Denver
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: and Sacramento. Where do you? Granted? I think we remember
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: him the most from Oklahoma City? Right? Is that fair
- 1:00:13Speaker 1: to say? Three won the Hall of Fame? All right,
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: I'm sorry, not Hall of Fame, but MVP in the NBA.
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: And then I mean him playing with Durant and Harden
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: that was out. That's a team I'll never forget. Yeah,
- 1:00:24Speaker 1: that was a dominating team right there. But I remember
- 1:00:29Speaker 1: him outside of Oklahoma City. I probably remember him the
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: most with the Lakers. Yeah, me too. Is that fair
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: to say? Yep, I'm right there with you. I mean,
- 1:00:38Speaker 1: it's unbelievable. He averaged out of his eighteen seasons, twenty
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: points per game, seven rebounds, and eight assists. He's a
- 1:00:45Speaker 1: future Hall of Famer, had well, yeah, and let me
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: tell you why. He had four seasons where he averaged
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: triple double. You know what the rest of NBA has
- 1:00:54Speaker 1: total Hold up, say it again.
- 1:00:57Speaker 2: Now, he had four seasons where he averaged a triple double.
- 1:01:01Speaker 1: Yes, yes, I heard this. The rest of the NBA
- 1:01:03Speaker 1: has three. Yeah, two hundred and nine triple doubles, most
- 1:01:08Speaker 1: in the NBA. It's crazy, Yeah, exactly, that's how crazy
- 1:01:13Speaker 1: that stat is. Two hundred and nine You heard me correctly, Yeah,
- 1:01:17Speaker 1: two hundred and nine triple doubles. That's those are crazy
- 1:01:23Speaker 1: stats right there. I was never a big fan of his,
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: were you I like Russell? Yeah you do? Yeah, Yeah,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: I just I don't know. His stint with the Lakers,
- 1:01:33Speaker 1: he just kind of became a little bit of a jerk.
- 1:01:35Speaker 2: There, he Yeah, I mean definitely in his later years
- 1:01:38Speaker 2: he he kind of he didn't hide his emotions as
- 1:01:42Speaker 2: well as when he was younger.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: And why is that?
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: And I think that rubbed people the wrong way. I don't,
- 1:01:47Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe he's just felt like he could
- 1:01:49Speaker 2: get away with whatever at that point.
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know. I just I thought that was
- 1:01:54Speaker 1: uh really something else. Uh. I just he became kind
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: of a bad guy. And maybe part of it is
- 1:02:03Speaker 1: because you know, the longer you've played, because he played
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: that many seasons. Maybe it is just because he was
- 1:02:08Speaker 1: a little more in pain. I don't know. I'm coming
- 1:02:11Speaker 1: up with reasons that could be. By the way, speaking
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: of somebody's going to have a long career, Josh Allen,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: former UK defensive star. I know, stop it, but he
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: moved up seventeen spots in this year NFL Top one hundred,
- 1:02:27Speaker 1: checking it number forty eight. Last season, he led the
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: Jaguars with eight sacks eighty quarterback pressures, which was forty
- 1:02:36Speaker 1: nine more than anybody else on his team.
- 1:02:41Speaker 2: I think Jags are gonna be good this year. Well,
- 1:02:43Speaker 2: they were good last year. Now I think they're gonna
- 1:02:45Speaker 2: be like even better, even better? Yeah, And would you
- 1:02:49Speaker 2: have ever thought that? I mean, they gotta have a
- 1:02:53Speaker 2: good team eventually, right, They can't stink for all time?
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: No, And man, I just makes you wonder what could
- 1:03:04Speaker 1: have been if you know that their coach stayed at
- 1:03:07Speaker 1: UK another year or two. Could he have been the
- 1:03:11Speaker 1: next University of Kentucky head football coach. He's making a
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: lot more money. No, he's the Yeah, he's not coming
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: back to college, there's no way. But he's doing a
- 1:03:21Speaker 1: phenomenal job down there. And I would have never thought
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: that at all, especially their quarterback sunshine what's his name,
- 1:03:30Speaker 1: l Trevor Lawrence. I never thought he was that good,
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: did you.
- 1:03:37Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean when he was coming out of college,
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: and I think he's I think he's honestly done pretty
- 1:03:43Speaker 2: well in the NFL compared to what I thought he
- 1:03:45Speaker 2: would do.
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah, Well, congratuations to Joshua Hines Allen, Right, all right, whatever,
- 1:03:54Speaker 1: but yeah, listen, he keeps playing the way he's playing,
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: I think he'll be a future Hall of Famer and
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: it all. I know. I say this every time I
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: talk about him, but it's still amazing me. He was
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: barely a two star when he came to UK. Exactly.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: The high school coach begged the coaching staff at UK
- 1:04:14Speaker 1: to take a look at him. They took him, and
- 1:04:16Speaker 1: and just I don't think the twenty eighteen team at
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: UK would have been the twenty eighteen team without josh Allen. No.
- 1:04:27Speaker 1: And that was a fun year. I mean, that was
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: fun football. They won that year, yes they did, and
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: that was ended up with a bowl game down in Orlando.
- 1:04:41Speaker 1: Penn State is not the only ten wins ten season.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: They had a ten wins season back in the seventies
- 1:04:50Speaker 1: with fran Cursey, which was eliminated too, by the way.
- 1:04:54Speaker 2: Oh so yeah, I think it was a ten wins
- 1:04:56Speaker 2: so it's the only one in school history.
- 1:04:58Speaker 1: Okay, fine, whatever, and that was supposed to be next
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: to by the way, but uh yeah, we gotta take
- 1:05:04Speaker 1: a break. But anyway, uh five O two three four
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: fourteen fifty five two four fourteen fifty text I kind
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: of went dead, but I would appreciate your text, So
- 1:05:12Speaker 1: send them in please, and uh we'll we'll. We've got
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: a few more things, especially what's going on downtown and
- 1:05:19Speaker 1: the renderings of this new project down there. We'll talk
- 1:05:22Speaker 1: about that next, as well as a few other takes.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: They're right there. More Justicat's coming right out here? What
- 1:05:37Speaker 1: do I do about elsewhere? Why real to be Bible
- 1:06:28Speaker 1: two three four fourteen fifty. You want to call Bible
- 1:06:30Speaker 1: two four one four fourteen fifty you want to text in?
- 1:06:33Speaker 1: So I had justin play a song for me today.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: This is the one Rod Stewart Hot Legs. I love
- 1:06:38Speaker 1: that song. But the bad news is he has canceled
- 1:06:43Speaker 1: the rest of his tour after undergoing an unsuccessful heart procedure.
- 1:06:49Speaker 1: I'm really bummed. About that, and they haven't said whether
- 1:06:52Speaker 1: or not he's going to try and come back or not.
- 1:06:54Speaker 1: But I did not realize this, and it makes sense now.
- 1:06:58Speaker 1: The guy's eighty one year years old. Wow, Rod Stewart
- 1:07:02Speaker 1: is eighty one years old and still out there just
- 1:07:05Speaker 1: rocking it up like crazy. And uh, I just there's
- 1:07:08Speaker 1: gonna commodate the next five ten years. We're gonna lose
- 1:07:11Speaker 1: all the legends that I grew up with in music,
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: and it's gonna be Yeah, you know, life is life.
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: So Rod Stewart, I think a Mick Jagger and Ron
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: Woods and uh, Mick Jagger looks horrible. Really, I think
- 1:07:28Speaker 1: he looks like Mick Jagger.
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: Well maybe I need to see him back in the day,
- 1:07:32Speaker 2: but he looked really awful. Okay, well there you go.
- 1:07:35Speaker 1: By the way, I didn't know guy's eighty three years
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: old and he's out there doing all. Do you know
- 1:07:39Speaker 1: they put a fitbit on him to see how many
- 1:07:41Speaker 1: miles he goes on stage in one concert. Do you
- 1:07:44Speaker 1: know how many miles he goes? Like twelve twelve miles.
- 1:07:47Speaker 1: I think we've talked about Okay, good.
- 1:07:49Speaker 2: But I didn't realize untill this morning that Rod Stewart
- 1:07:53Speaker 2: was a D on the end. I always thought it
- 1:07:56Speaker 2: was a t rod Stewart, you.
- 1:08:03Speaker 1: Thought it was a D as in dog. No, it
- 1:08:05Speaker 1: is a D. You're blowing my mind? Now, are you
- 1:08:10Speaker 1: kidding me? I thought it was a tea on the end.
- 1:08:15Speaker 1: Now I gotta it's a T. What are you talking
- 1:08:18Speaker 1: about all? I'm looking it up right now, Okay, okay,
- 1:08:20Speaker 1: the YouTube on the YouTube video I just played, it
- 1:08:24Speaker 1: says Stewart with a D twine. No, it's a T. Okay, Yeah,
- 1:08:30Speaker 1: I'm not crazy. No, you're not crazy. You do fault
- 1:08:34Speaker 1: for everything on the end. Oh my gosh, man, But
- 1:08:38Speaker 1: I just I just all right, of the uh the
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: rock stars, because I know you're a big Zach Brown,
- 1:08:45Speaker 1: anybody in music? Who are you? Who would you be
- 1:08:49Speaker 1: the most devastated losing if they were to pass away
- 1:08:53Speaker 1: in the near future? Brown?
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: Yeah, okay, yeah, I mean they got well, they have
- 1:08:58Speaker 2: way too many bangs to put.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: Out still really yeah, I gotcha? All right, So that's
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: yours all right then mine, I'm trying to think it.
- 1:09:11Speaker 1: Probably Dave Grohl, I mean, between him and if you
- 1:09:17Speaker 1: don't know who he is, he's the lead singer of
- 1:09:19Speaker 1: Foo Fighters, that used to be with Nirvana. I mean,
- 1:09:22Speaker 1: I was bombed when Nirvana, the lead singer with them,
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: passed away unexpectedly K Cobain, but I'd probably say Foo
- 1:09:33Speaker 1: Fighters and or Coleplay. I'm a Chris Martin fan. Are
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: they still putting out music either? One of them? Oh?
- 1:09:40Speaker 1: Very much so. Oh yeah. In fact, Coldplay I think
- 1:09:46Speaker 1: released a new animal was it last year? A year
- 1:09:48Speaker 1: before Food Fighters? Same thing. But they're still putting out
- 1:09:52Speaker 1: music either. Rolling Stones just released an album. Jesus, how
- 1:09:56Speaker 1: do you like that? For eighty something years old, they're
- 1:10:00Speaker 1: still releasing music. I think it's awesome and it's it's
- 1:10:03Speaker 1: pretty good. Their their album right before this one I
- 1:10:06Speaker 1: thought was fantastic, some of their best music. I should
- 1:10:10Speaker 1: have you play some of their music, not this new album,
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: because I haven't listened to it completely. I know I've
- 1:10:15Speaker 1: listened to a couple of songs. They're pretty good, but
- 1:10:17Speaker 1: the one before unbelievable when I went to see them
- 1:10:20Speaker 1: up in New York. Unbelievable. I'm just telling you. I
- 1:10:24Speaker 1: just I'm a huge Rolling Stones fan. And the funny
- 1:10:27Speaker 1: thing is I really wasn't until I saw them here
- 1:10:30Speaker 1: in Littlevie Churchill downs and it's like, oh my gosh,
- 1:10:32Speaker 1: they're really good in concert. And then I became a
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: really big Rolling Stones fan after that. One person texted
- 1:10:38Speaker 1: in Westbrook had some good some games, not the whole season,
- 1:10:44Speaker 1: much different era, but Oscar was a stud. Yeah which
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: Oscar are we talking about? Robertson? Oh, Oscar Robertson. Okay,
- 1:10:54Speaker 1: that's a little before my time. But yeah, I think
- 1:10:57Speaker 1: when I hear Oscar, I think of two people, Oscar Combs,
- 1:11:00Speaker 1: and I'll Skarshiway exactly. But yeah, there you go. So
- 1:11:05Speaker 1: Josh texted in downtown projects where we dump millions of
- 1:11:10Speaker 1: dollars into projects and that crazy kids will destroy and
- 1:11:14Speaker 1: bums will poop and walking paths. That's why politics is done,
- 1:11:18Speaker 1: because politicians will literally build a garden in the middle
- 1:11:21Speaker 1: of a dumpster fire, and voters will focus on the
- 1:11:24Speaker 1: garden more than the dumpster fire. Is saying oh shiny
- 1:11:28Speaker 1: and see that as a result and moving the needle.
- 1:11:32Speaker 1: All right, So thank you for the segue there, Josh.
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: If you haven't seen it yet, there have been renderings
- 1:11:41Speaker 1: for the reimagined Louisville Belvedere. Have you seen the pictures
- 1:11:46Speaker 1: of them? I don't think so, okay, go look it up.
- 1:11:49Speaker 1: It does. I'll have to say it looks spectacular. But
- 1:11:53Speaker 1: I'm kind of like, Josh, we're gonna spend all this money.
- 1:11:56Speaker 1: They're gonna have all kinds of trees up there. They're
- 1:11:59Speaker 1: gonna plant all kinds of trees. H They're gonna have
- 1:12:01Speaker 1: a stage, all kinds of stuff there, and it's gonna
- 1:12:05Speaker 1: be totally the Belvedere reinvented. They're they're they're trying to
- 1:12:10Speaker 1: put more the large stage and more of it of
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: a connection to the river front. And I'm like, what
- 1:12:19Speaker 1: exactly does that mean? Because it's it's elevated above the river.
- 1:12:23Speaker 1: You got the expressway right there, I seventy one that
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: takes you or no, it turns to sixty four there
- 1:12:30Speaker 1: and takes you to Sherman Minton over towards Evansville. And
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: I'm like, what are we doing here?
- 1:12:38Speaker 2: I don't understand why there's a freaking highway next to
- 1:12:41Speaker 2: the river. Yeah, whose idea was that?
- 1:12:44Speaker 1: You know, there's always been this whole thing eighty six
- 1:12:47Speaker 1: sixty four have you seen that? And I'm getting to
- 1:12:51Speaker 1: a point where I'm kind of with it too. Let's
- 1:12:53Speaker 1: get rid of that because you know the part I
- 1:12:55Speaker 1: would I've always wanted to see. I've always been jealous
- 1:12:58Speaker 1: of the cities that have these really nice, big outdoor amphitheaters.
- 1:13:04Speaker 1: Now we have a nice one over there at Iroquois Park,
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: it's not big enough. I've always got next and exactly
- 1:13:13Speaker 1: it's not next to the river. That's where I've always
- 1:13:16Speaker 1: been jealous of Cincinnati because they got Riverband Amphitheater right
- 1:13:20Speaker 1: there next to Riverbin Racetrack, because that's where I would
- 1:13:24Speaker 1: always go up see a bunch of I would buy
- 1:13:27Speaker 1: concert series up there. Saw the Eagles, saw Jimmy Buffett
- 1:13:31Speaker 1: every year, Holland Oates. I mean, I saw the food
- 1:13:34Speaker 1: fighters up there. I've seen all kinds of bands up there,
- 1:13:39Speaker 1: and that's where I think Louisville has really missed out.
- 1:13:44Speaker 1: I wish that they would build an amphitheater on the river.
- 1:13:47Speaker 1: And if it's not a band you care to go
- 1:13:50Speaker 1: see in person, but you know what you like some
- 1:13:52Speaker 1: of their music, I'd drive down there on boat and
- 1:13:55Speaker 1: listen to the music just on the boat. I always
- 1:13:57Speaker 1: thought that was really cool people doing that going to
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: a Jimmy buff the concert, parking their boat out there
- 1:14:02Speaker 1: and enjoying it.
- 1:14:03Speaker 2: I mean, they do put that big stage up. I
- 1:14:05Speaker 2: think it's out there now. Actually, what do you mean
- 1:14:07Speaker 2: by the river like downe.
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: But there's no seating, so you got to bring your
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: lawn chair and all that kind of stuff. I mean,
- 1:14:15Speaker 1: I just wish they would make a permanent one. And
- 1:14:19Speaker 1: there's not enough parking down there for it anywhere, So
- 1:14:22Speaker 1: I just wish somewhere down there get rid of something
- 1:14:25Speaker 1: on River Road. You got the sand company there, you
- 1:14:28Speaker 1: got some other crap down there. Let's get rid of
- 1:14:31Speaker 1: all the industrial side, get rid of sixty four and
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: build a big, beautiful Ampthey, Nashville has a nice Amphithea
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: down there on the river. You got Cincinnati doesn't. In
- 1:14:42Speaker 1: Annapolis have a really nice outdoor amphthey where they get
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: a lot of concerts. Yeah, Nobles in Noblesville. In Noblesville,
- 1:14:50Speaker 1: it's called something woods, isn't it. I forget, No, I
- 1:14:54Speaker 1: don't look it up, don't waste the time. But I
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: don't know, a lot of people are really criticizing this
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: whole Louisville Belvedere. Okay, well it used to be called
- 1:15:03Speaker 1: something else too, But anyway, do you like the idea? Huh?
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: Deer Creek that was it Deer Creek. Do you like
- 1:15:10Speaker 1: this whole idea of spending all this money on the Belvidere.
- 1:15:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I think it looks pretty cool, like
- 1:15:17Speaker 2: the at least the draw ups that they have of it,
- 1:15:19Speaker 2: I think it looks neat. It would maybe bring more
- 1:15:21Speaker 2: people up into that area, because as it stands now,
- 1:15:24Speaker 2: nobody really goes up there.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: I don't go up there. I cannot think the last
- 1:15:28Speaker 1: time I went to the Belvidere, and I just I honestly,
- 1:15:32Speaker 1: I have no interest in going to the Belvidere. Now,
- 1:15:34Speaker 1: if they got rid of the expressway and they did
- 1:15:38Speaker 1: really connect it to where you could go down there
- 1:15:40Speaker 1: and hang out on the river, I think that'd be
- 1:15:42Speaker 1: pretty cool. But I don't know what are they going
- 1:15:45Speaker 1: to do with this huge stage.
- 1:15:48Speaker 2: I don't know where they're even going to put a stick.
- 1:15:51Speaker 2: I can't tell in the drawings where that's going.
- 1:15:54Speaker 1: Uh yeah you can if you click on well if
- 1:15:58Speaker 1: you might not be on it, it's down to the right,
- 1:16:02Speaker 1: just on the other side of the Kentucky Arts Center
- 1:16:07Speaker 1: is where it is. So anyway, I just okay, Well,
- 1:16:11Speaker 1: go spend that money, do that kind of stuff and
- 1:16:14Speaker 1: we'll see what happens from there, but let's go ahead
- 1:16:18Speaker 1: and get a couple other texts before we have to
- 1:16:19Speaker 1: take another break. You know you are getting old when
- 1:16:22Speaker 1: all the bands and artists you grew up with are retiring,
- 1:16:24Speaker 1: are passing away. God, that is so true. Aren't the
- 1:16:29Speaker 1: Eagles done now? I mean Glenn Fryes gone? That was
- 1:16:32Speaker 1: one of the maiden lead singers of the Eagles. Don
- 1:16:34Speaker 1: Henley's still there? You got Timothy B. Schmidt, You got
- 1:16:40Speaker 1: who's the guy that filled in for I can't think
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: of his name, but he's a really popular singer that
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: filled in for the Eagles. But yeah, if now, if
- 1:16:49Speaker 1: you get the Rolling Stones who retire? I mean yeah,
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: I kind of hate these going away things. Patrick texted out,
- 1:16:58Speaker 1: I would be devastated to hear Dave Matthews, Billy Joe
- 1:17:01Speaker 1: Armstrong or Hosier pass away. Those are three good bands
- 1:17:06Speaker 1: right there, Dave Matthews, I couldn't agree with you more.
- 1:17:08Speaker 1: I love Hosier. I was never a Dave Matthews guy,
- 1:17:11Speaker 1: were you not? Wah? I don't know. There something about
- 1:17:15Speaker 1: their sound. I just don't much care for a couple
- 1:17:18Speaker 1: that with all your childhood toys are now considered vintage
- 1:17:23Speaker 1: and is just uh, it just has me reaching for
- 1:17:27Speaker 1: the ibuprofen. What toys are being retired now? I mean
- 1:17:34Speaker 1: I have no idea, I don't my I haven't heard any.
- 1:17:39Speaker 1: My all time favorite toy was the Big Wheel. I
- 1:17:43Speaker 1: thought that was so much fun. Yeah, and I'd love
- 1:17:46Speaker 1: an adult version of that. Okay, maybe motorized, battery operated
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: something like that. You'd probably make that happen. Go to
- 1:17:52Speaker 1: the one of those custom motorcycle places. Yeah, but then
- 1:17:55Speaker 1: they're gonna sit here and know here that's been let's
- 1:17:58Speaker 1: charge a lot of money to this guy. But then
- 1:18:00Speaker 1: could you really spin it around and stuff? Because that
- 1:18:03Speaker 1: was what was so fun about the Big Wheel, you know,
- 1:18:05Speaker 1: had that big wheel in the front, hence the name,
- 1:18:07Speaker 1: and then you turn and all of a sudden you're
- 1:18:09Speaker 1: spinning in circles like forever. Yeah. I think that's what
- 1:18:13Speaker 1: happened to me when I was a kid. My text
- 1:18:16Speaker 1: said Oscar averaged a triple double for a whole season.
- 1:18:20Speaker 1: Westbrook only did it for a few games. Ah, Now
- 1:18:23Speaker 1: Westbrook did it for three seasons, four seasons. Well, I
- 1:18:27Speaker 1: mean Oscar, well, yeah, Westbrook had what did I say,
- 1:18:31Speaker 1: two hundred and nine. I mean, that's that's more than
- 1:18:35Speaker 1: anybody else in the NBA.
- 1:18:37Speaker 2: Yeah, he's done it in four different seasons, averaged a triple. Yeah,
- 1:18:41Speaker 2: there's only been three other players.
- 1:18:43Speaker 1: To do it. One person said, cold Play still putting
- 1:18:46Speaker 1: out music and breaking up marriages. Good point. That is
- 1:18:52Speaker 1: so true. I think the one couple, the lady that
- 1:18:56Speaker 1: was involved with the other guy, I think they stayed married,
- 1:19:00Speaker 1: which is kind of crazy. Did they not they went
- 1:19:03Speaker 1: and got the voice, I think, I mean, how Randy
- 1:19:06Speaker 1: all right, thank you, Joe Walsh and Vince Gill. Vince
- 1:19:09Speaker 1: Skill is the other guy that joined after the other
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: guy passed away. Glynn Fry passed away. Are you a
- 1:19:15Speaker 1: Vince Skill guy? He seems like a nice guy. Sure,
- 1:19:21Speaker 1: but yeah. Anyway, But anyway, but that great text a
- 1:19:25Speaker 1: minute ago. I mean, it's still coming out with music
- 1:19:28Speaker 1: and breaking marriages. So all right, we got to take
- 1:19:30Speaker 1: our last break. When we come back, we got to
- 1:19:33Speaker 1: talk about the Lakers being sold. I haven't talked about
- 1:19:35Speaker 1: that yet and I completely forgot it. So, uh, let's
- 1:19:38Speaker 1: talk about that and then we'll be done for the week.
- 1:19:41Speaker 1: As far as me, so, I thought we'd play a replay,
- 1:19:45Speaker 1: but Justin doesn't want to, so we will see. We might.
- 1:19:47Speaker 1: It's okay, you don't have to do that. Okay, you've
- 1:19:50Speaker 1: got a lot of work. All right, we'll see him in.
- 1:19:52Speaker 1: Stay right there. Justin has a lot of work to do,
- 1:19:54Speaker 1: so he needs his break. Stay right there. One more
- 1:19:57Speaker 1: segment of this gay by the way, happy Uh. Left
- 1:20:37Speaker 1: Hander's Day? Hey? Did you know today is left Hander's Day?
- 1:20:41Speaker 1: I did not. Yeah, And it's awareness for struggles that
- 1:20:45Speaker 1: left handers have. It's my mom Oh really, seeh I'm both.
- 1:20:49Speaker 1: I'm left handed and right handed. There's certain things I
- 1:20:52Speaker 1: can be both. Really no, I'm both at a lot
- 1:20:54Speaker 1: of stuff. I throw the baseball left handed, I eat
- 1:20:58Speaker 1: left handed, I write right hand. I played golf right handed,
- 1:21:01Speaker 1: I bat right handed.
- 1:21:03Speaker 2: I can throw darts and play pool left handed or
- 1:21:06Speaker 2: right handed.
- 1:21:07Speaker 1: Really yeah.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: I have an uncle who he recently started so he's
- 1:21:12Speaker 2: a right handed golfer, but he recently started putting lefty.
- 1:21:16Speaker 2: Oh really yeah, and hand and he loves it. He
- 1:21:20Speaker 2: says he's gotten a lot better. It's more consistent. For
- 1:21:23Speaker 2: he says he'll never go back. He'll put lefty the
- 1:21:25Speaker 2: rest of his life.
- 1:21:26Speaker 1: Good for him. Lakers, what do you think about the
- 1:21:29Speaker 1: Lakers being sold for a record twelve point five billion dollars.
- 1:21:35Speaker 1: I mean, people just have too much money. And here's
- 1:21:38Speaker 1: the crazy part. Well, you know, the La Dodgers owner
- 1:21:42Speaker 1: owns them right now, bought it from the Bussy family
- 1:21:45Speaker 1: only two years ago, and he paid ten million, and
- 1:21:49Speaker 1: now he wants to get make a two billion off
- 1:21:51Speaker 1: of it. No one knows why he wants to sell
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: it though, have you heard? I haven't. I haven't either,
- 1:21:56Speaker 1: And no one knows why he wants to get rid
- 1:21:58Speaker 1: of it. But my gosh, just just within two years
- 1:22:02Speaker 1: you make two billion dollars. I mean, that's probably why
- 1:22:05Speaker 1: he wants to get rid of it, right, congratulations. Well,
- 1:22:09Speaker 1: I mean, what do you say if you kept another
- 1:22:11Speaker 1: two million two years, you get two more billion, two
- 1:22:15Speaker 1: billions a lot of money. Oh, you don't need one billion,
- 1:22:18Speaker 1: You don't need any more than two billions. No, no,
- 1:22:21Speaker 1: and I And it's just becoming more and more commonly.
- 1:22:24Speaker 1: You know, when I was a kid, it was always Wow,
- 1:22:27Speaker 1: you're a millionaire. That is so cool. Now it's nothing
- 1:22:30Speaker 1: to be a millionaire. It's a billionaire that is out
- 1:22:33Speaker 1: there making people impressed. But I just I thought this
- 1:22:36Speaker 1: was crazy. It would be so much fun to own
- 1:22:41Speaker 1: any professional Well I shouldn't say any but uh yeah,
- 1:22:44Speaker 1: tell that to the guy who owns the Browns, Ask
- 1:22:47Speaker 1: him how fun that is. I still think it's fine.
- 1:22:50Speaker 1: It's his own doing. It's true. So if you're going
- 1:22:54Speaker 1: to own a team, you be you gotta spend money
- 1:22:56Speaker 1: on him to make money. By the way, I don't
- 1:22:58Speaker 1: know if you saw this or not. Cowboys delayed practice
- 1:23:01Speaker 1: two hours yesterday for what They delayed two fact hours
- 1:23:06Speaker 1: due to a player found in unknown white powdery substance
- 1:23:10Speaker 1: on the field, and Jerry Jones immediately suspended practice and
- 1:23:15Speaker 1: called the police after analysis ex confirmed it was the
- 1:23:19Speaker 1: goal line. Gonna be a rough season in Dallas. You're
- 1:23:26Speaker 1: talking about the Browns. I'm thinking of the Cowboys. I
- 1:23:30Speaker 1: think that's funny. I love really good jokes like that.
- 1:23:33Speaker 1: So that didn't actually happen, No it did, damn it. No,
- 1:23:36Speaker 1: it was a joke. Come on, did you not get
- 1:23:38Speaker 1: the joke? I got it? I got got again. What
- 1:23:41Speaker 1: is wrong with you? Who's going to be the worst
- 1:23:44Speaker 1: football team in the NFL this year? Oh that's a
- 1:23:47Speaker 1: great question. I mean, I think you're right right right
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: there with the Browns.
- 1:23:51Speaker 2: I don't think the Saints are going to be very
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: good despite people thinking otherwise. Panthers probably still won't be
- 1:23:58Speaker 2: very good. Cardinals, I think there's gonna be quite a
- 1:24:03Speaker 2: few bad teams this year. Yeah, yeah, but I'm right
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: there with you. But yeah, it's interesting because I think
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: where are the Bengals gonna be? Because a lot of people,
- 1:24:17Speaker 2: you know, you're criticizing the Browns ownership. A lot of
- 1:24:21Speaker 2: people have been criticizing the Browns owners of the Bengals
- 1:24:26Speaker 2: as of late, including their starting quarterback, and I think
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: that kind of woke them up. He's like, listen, if
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: you want me to stay here, you need to invest
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: in this team. And I think the Browns kind of
- 1:24:38Speaker 2: woke up and said, Okay, we're gonna invest. They did,
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: and I think they're doing a pretty good job. I'm
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: not gonna say I'm they've done a great job. I'm
- 1:24:45Speaker 2: gonna say they've done a pretty good job. And I
- 1:24:49Speaker 2: hope it gets better. I mean, the defense is going
- 1:24:51Speaker 2: to be much improved from last That's what needed to
- 1:24:54Speaker 2: be improved most because they had to score more than
- 1:24:59Speaker 2: their opponent's offense was scoring. That's how they could win
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: but man, I that's just crazy.
- 1:25:06Speaker 1: You're gonna watch any football tonight? I am gonna watch it.
- 1:25:09Speaker 1: Who's playing? I don't even know?
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: You do have the Bengals in action, My Steelers are
- 1:25:13Speaker 2: in action. You got the Raiders playing as well. Okay,
- 1:25:17Speaker 2: there's six total games? Is it really tonight?
- 1:25:20Speaker 1: All right? Then? What do you think about the NBA
- 1:25:23Speaker 1: starting some of their games at three o'clock in the afternoon.
- 1:25:27Speaker 1: That's fine, you don't have a problem with it. A
- 1:25:30Speaker 1: lot of people are saying the same thing. I thought
- 1:25:31Speaker 1: it was kind of weird. But who cares play them?
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: One person said, Michael, I'm left handed, but I eat
- 1:25:37Speaker 1: with my mouth less messy that way. Okay, fine, golly,
- 1:25:42Speaker 1: thanks a lot. That's thanks, Jamie. Former UK basketball player
- 1:25:47Speaker 1: Nate Cestina will play in France again this upcoming season.
- 1:25:51Speaker 1: The former Wildcat forward signed with the l d LC
- 1:25:55Speaker 1: as Aspel, who competes in the EuroLeague. I know, I exactly,
- 1:26:02Speaker 1: That's exactly what I was thinking in my head right there. Man,
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: that was a player. Because I thought about I hadn't
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: thought about Nats's scene a little bit, A couple things.
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: When I think about him, you know, that was the
- 1:26:12Speaker 1: Covid year that he played on that team, I would
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: have loved because to me, that team was getting hot
- 1:26:19Speaker 1: UK basketball and then Covid hit and I would have
- 1:26:22Speaker 1: loved to have seen how that team would I don't
- 1:26:25Speaker 1: know if they would have gotten to the final four,
- 1:26:27Speaker 1: but I still think there could have been a shot.
- 1:26:30Speaker 1: I don't think they would have won, but there still
- 1:26:32Speaker 1: could have been a shot. The other thing is, remember
- 1:26:36Speaker 1: he played on laf Amelia YEP a couple of years ago.
- 1:26:40Speaker 1: I just wonder if he'd have played this year, would
- 1:26:44Speaker 1: that have completed that team and had them You don't
- 1:26:47Speaker 1: think so. They would not have won the championship game.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: I mean it would have helped. I just I don't
- 1:26:52Speaker 2: see a scenario where you're winning that championship just because.
- 1:26:56Speaker 2: And that's nothing to do with La Familia. It's more
- 1:26:58Speaker 2: so to say about Davis or whatever their name was.
- 1:27:01Speaker 2: I mean, you're right, yeah, you could tell those guys
- 1:27:03Speaker 2: have been playing together for a litle while. They were
- 1:27:06Speaker 2: the better team, no doubt. Yeah, well they definitely were
- 1:27:10Speaker 2: the better team, and I just I was disappointed. It
- 1:27:13Speaker 2: would have been a nice because I can definitely guarantee
- 1:27:16Speaker 2: you that if they would have won it all this year,
- 1:27:19Speaker 2: Willie coley Stein would have been done, and since they didn't,
- 1:27:22Speaker 2: I kind of feel like there's that window that's still
- 1:27:25Speaker 2: a little open that he might come back and play again.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: I bet he does, do you really He wants to
- 1:27:31Speaker 2: finish out, so he's out there recruiting players right now.
- 1:27:35Speaker 1: That really okay, they want to win it. He got
- 1:27:41Speaker 1: to get a few more people on board. You're right,
- 1:27:43Speaker 1: he's got to get a few more people. We'll see
- 1:27:45Speaker 1: what happens. But anyway, you got any plans for the weekend.
- 1:27:49Speaker 1: I do not as of now.
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: But last weekend I didn't have any plans either, and
- 1:27:55Speaker 2: I ended up being away from a house all weekend.
- 1:27:57Speaker 1: Yeah you were, yeah, we'll see. Really, do you have
- 1:28:01Speaker 1: any plans this weekend just to go out to Churchill
- 1:28:04Speaker 1: Downs other than that, No, we're getting a gate card
- 1:28:07Speaker 1: this weekend. No, that was supposed to be this morning.
- 1:28:11Speaker 1: He's just not ready. Yeah. I was a little disappointed,
- 1:28:14Speaker 1: but it's okay. It's just one of those things. He remember,
- 1:28:17Speaker 1: these are two year old horses, and for those of
- 1:28:19Speaker 1: you don't understand, you have to get gate approval who's
- 1:28:22Speaker 1: training before you can go Dale Romans. No, it's not
- 1:28:25Speaker 1: his fault. Oh come on, now, let's not say that. No,
- 1:28:29Speaker 1: we're not saying that. But yeah, So this Saturday, you
- 1:28:36Speaker 1: got the chance to go to meet the Kentucky football
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: for Meet the Team Day and it happens from five
- 1:28:42Speaker 1: till six ground level concourse of Krug Commonwealth Stadium. Almost
- 1:28:47Speaker 1: said it, and I think, goodness, I caught myself. But
- 1:28:49Speaker 1: you get to go meet everybody. Who would be the
- 1:28:52Speaker 1: first person you'd want to meet from.
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: The football team? Yeah, I think I said earlier this week,
- 1:28:58Speaker 2: give me the biggest dude on the team. Colton Price
- 1:29:02Speaker 2: is one of them, He's not the biggest.
- 1:29:04Speaker 1: I want one. I want the guy.
- 1:29:06Speaker 2: I want the guy that's going to walk towards me
- 1:29:08Speaker 2: and I'm gonna be like, whoa, Yeah, that's who I
- 1:29:12Speaker 2: want to be.
- 1:29:12Speaker 1: Really, okay, basketball, who would you want to meet first?
- 1:29:16Speaker 1: If they did something like this? I think that would
- 1:29:18Speaker 1: be fun too. UK should do this on the basketball
- 1:29:21Speaker 1: side Meet the Team Day.
- 1:29:25Speaker 2: You know, I don't know, I don't know. Not nobody
- 1:29:29Speaker 2: really sticks out or jumps out at me.
- 1:29:31Speaker 1: Really, I'm going back to Inde because I want to
- 1:29:35Speaker 1: go and say, okay, what tell me about this suit?
- 1:29:37Speaker 1: I gotta know more about this suit he bragged about.
- 1:29:42Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:29:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I guess I'll go with the same mindset I
- 1:29:46Speaker 2: had for football. Just give me the biggest dude on
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: the team. Okay, all right, that's what I want, Brandon Garrison.
- 1:29:54Speaker 2: I'll tell you who I don't want to meet for
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: if he was still on that team, he was the
- 1:29:59Speaker 2: big that's not who you would want to go meet. No, No,
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: I'm god, Lee, I just don't get the absolute dislike
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: you have for that guy. No, now doesn't matter really,
- 1:30:11Speaker 2: all right, are you gonna go watch any of the
- 1:30:13Speaker 2: TV shows I've told you to go watch. I've given
- 1:30:16Speaker 2: you ted Lasso, and I've given you Shrinking. Any chance
- 1:30:20Speaker 2: you watch any of them this weekend?
- 1:30:22Speaker 1: If I watch either of those, that will be shrinking.
- 1:30:26Speaker 2: Really, I'm just I'm I'm so far behind on ted
- 1:30:30Speaker 2: Lasso at this point that I don't it doesn't matter. Yeah,
- 1:30:33Speaker 2: but I don't know that I want to delve into it.
- 1:30:35Speaker 2: That's only three seasons. They're starting their fourth last week.
- 1:30:40Speaker 1: I mean, I've started shows when they're I'm like five
- 1:30:44Speaker 1: seasons behind. I don't know.
- 1:30:48Speaker 2: If I can't watch it with everybody, I might as well,
- 1:30:51Speaker 2: just wait until all of it comes out.
- 1:30:52Speaker 1: If I'm gonna watch it at all, Wow, I'm really surprised.
- 1:30:55Speaker 1: I just go watch it with everybody.
- 1:30:57Speaker 2: I'm not a TV guy, though, Okay I can't. I
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: can't sit down and watch TV for hours and hours
- 1:31:03Speaker 2: and hours. Yeah, I just can't do it. Okay, Well
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: I'll try. There's there's there.
- 1:31:09Speaker 1: I'll give it a whirl. I don't think there's much
- 1:31:10Speaker 1: on horse racing. There's not much. I mean, this is
- 1:31:13Speaker 1: kind of the to me, this is the calm before
- 1:31:16Speaker 1: the storm where there is not much to talk about
- 1:31:20Speaker 1: on sports radio. It's true, there really isn't. I mean,
- 1:31:23Speaker 1: look at the topics I came up with today. Uh
- 1:31:26Speaker 1: but but I just feel like it's getting like next
- 1:31:29Speaker 1: week will be a little tougher. But then that following week,
- 1:31:33Speaker 1: when we're just a couple of weeks out, that's when it,
- 1:31:35Speaker 1: to me, it really starts rolling. And then when football season.
- 1:31:38Speaker 1: I gotta get back into the mindset. Okay, we got
- 1:31:40Speaker 1: to talk about football, because you know, for the last
- 1:31:43Speaker 1: three months, I've been in the mindset. What am I
- 1:31:46Speaker 1: going to talk about that is sports related? I can
- 1:31:48Speaker 1: talk about. There's all kinds of subject matter to talk
- 1:31:51Speaker 1: about outside of sports. That's why I enjoy this because
- 1:31:53Speaker 1: you're always saying, Michael Left, I never knew a sports
- 1:31:56Speaker 1: joke could talk about other things. Well, it does, and
- 1:32:00Speaker 1: I enjoyed it just as much. High school football starts
- 1:32:04Speaker 1: next proday? Does it really? Who's your first team? I've
- 1:32:07Speaker 1: got New Albany in Providence. Is that a good game? Probably? Not? Really?
- 1:32:13Speaker 1: It wasn't last year I have. Do you do any
- 1:32:16Speaker 1: Kentucky teams on football?
- 1:32:18Speaker 2: I haven't years past? Yeah, I mean I did a
- 1:32:20Speaker 2: KCD game last year.
- 1:32:22Speaker 1: Did you really?
- 1:32:23Speaker 2: Once I'm done over in Indiana, then yeah, And if
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: there's still local teams in Louisville here alive, I'll come
- 1:32:30Speaker 2: over and do something.
- 1:32:31Speaker 1: So you did the KCD game at KCD, I did there?
- 1:32:36Speaker 1: What would that have been? Quarterfinal game? I guess oh, okay, yeah,
- 1:32:40Speaker 1: I wish I would have known that. I would have
- 1:32:41Speaker 1: probably gone with you. You didn't know that. I don't
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: remember that because we talked about the ad. Oh Tim Green, Yeah,
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: nor no longer than Tim Green, but yeah, no, you
- 1:32:52Speaker 1: know their ad. Yeah it's a lady. No, I know
- 1:32:57Speaker 1: the head coach.
- 1:32:58Speaker 2: I can't remember his name. Maybe it was the head
- 1:33:00Speaker 2: Now it's the head coach. Yeah maybe it wasn't.
- 1:33:01Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, because his name I remember him. Uh, Justin
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: as Well said, Justin, you got to give Ted Lessel
- 1:33:09Speaker 1: a try man. I'll see, We'll see. I don't know
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: why you're so stubborn about this, I really don't.
- 1:33:17Speaker 2: I'm just I just feel like it's the same thing
- 1:33:19Speaker 2: with me in the office. I'm so far behind. One
- 1:33:22Speaker 2: person said. White substance in Dallas is usually cocaine. Sports
- 1:33:26Speaker 2: is just an excuse for us to talk about craziness.
- 1:33:29Speaker 2: There you go, that little UK is the crazy yeah,
- 1:33:32Speaker 2: and then I get to talk about the craziest UK
- 1:33:34Speaker 2: is the excuse.
- 1:33:35Speaker 1: So all right, everybody, have a weekend. Great weekend. I'm
- 1:33:38Speaker 1: gonna be off tomorrow, but i'll be back Monday and then, uh, Justin,
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: if you want to play, replay great. If you don't
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: want to, that's fine. I was going to have you
- 1:33:44Speaker 1: play the whole UK media day, but it's okay. You
- 1:33:47Speaker 1: do what you want to do and make it easy
- 1:33:50Speaker 1: on you. All Right, We'll see you Monday. Everybody. Everybody
- 1:33:53Speaker 1: have a great weekend. All that mister Waivers intebraided die.
