Latest / DidiLawren / Perception and Bias of Peter Obi's Supporters - The #Obidient Mindset
Transcript
- 0:00Hello and welcome back to my channel.
- 0:02My name is Lauren said with different and this is bouncing
- 0:04Florencia for today's episode. I want to talk about perception
- 0:10and buyers with the obedience. I mean if you don't know who
- 0:15they obedience people are they are Pizza Obie's supporters.
- 0:23So I am going to be deviant person.
- 0:26I am all for PETA. OB I am all for label.
- 0:30Party. I am here for Nigerian politics,
- 0:34I am here for the Youth taking over, but the analysis of seen
- 0:41online has been really something that I felt that I needed to
- 0:46talk about. First of all, as I said earlier,
- 0:51I am Peter Orbeez fun. I am here for PETA.
- 0:53OB, if I can vote for him because I live in Desperate, I
- 0:58don't know how if they're going to make Arrangements for those
- 1:01in desperate to vote. But if I am able or allowed to
- 1:06vote, this will be the first person I'll be voting for, in
- 1:10the Nigerian politics or election or whatever you want to
- 1:14call it. The reason why I'm talking about
- 1:17this, the reason one of the reasons why the obedience people
- 1:20are supporting Peter, OB is the fact that he is a very young
- 1:26man. I mean He is Young compared to a
- 1:32tikku compared to Bola tinubu. The perception is that we don't
- 1:37want old men, they no longer want any old person to come into
- 1:43power because they believe that these old people, they don't
- 1:46understand the new generation the new how to diversify income
- 1:52in this technological era. So they are clamoring for a
- 1:57younger person or somebody. I think on the stand them
- 2:02somebody they think speaks their language.
- 2:04So this is the perception of the youths and why people are white
- 2:09people like by. So I'll be D ins.
- 2:14Now, the bias in this whole thing is the fact that the youth
- 2:19feel that a PC and PDP the route for a very long time, they don't
- 2:25want any of that. They don't want any other
- 2:28candidate from this part is too. Through Nigeria.
- 2:30So regardless of where any of them breast reputable candidates
- 2:35is coming from the youth are going to support them.
- 2:38A lot of people have talked about the fact that Labour party
- 2:40does not have any structural all social media.
- 2:43At least that has not been a problem because every youth in
- 2:48Nigeria is supporting Peter of being unless those ones that
- 2:52maybe a paid to do otherwise, but I think after the leki
- 2:58tollgates, It's that happened. Every Utes in Nigeria,
- 3:03especially the way the ruling party, a PC handle, the matter.
- 3:08And the way, PDP, on the other hand, we're kind of playing
- 3:12politics with the whole thing. The user saying, we don't want
- 3:15these people, we don't want all these old men, we don't want
- 3:18recycled politicians, I've seen a whole lot of analysis, and one
- 3:22of the reasons why the youths are supporting Peter or B is
- 3:27because they feel that Peter AA will be is going to save them.
- 3:32Peter will be, is going to provide job opportunities.
- 3:34Piece of is going to solve Nigerian problem.
- 3:37Peter always going to do this because we're going to do that.
- 3:40Now, I am not saying he cannot do these things.
- 3:44I am not saying he will not be able to achieve these things.
- 3:48I am a full support of Peter will be and I hope and pray that
- 3:53he's able to fix Nigeria. The way that Nigeria should be
- 3:58Bots. This is come Back to the Earth.
- 4:01Let us come back to reality. Let us wake up and smell the
- 4:04coffee. Nigeria is not going to be fixed
- 4:07overnight. Unless Peter, we has a magic
- 4:10wand by just going to swing around and fix things that is
- 4:14not going to happen overnight. We need to change our mindset
- 4:18before anything can work well in Nigeria.
- 4:21Now let me give you this example.
- 4:23I'm a project manager working in IT projects so one of the the
- 4:27project I worked on was a trap. Formation and transition
- 4:31projects. Now the first thing that we did
- 4:34was to transition from one system to the other, let me give
- 4:38you the reason why we had to transition before transforming
- 4:42the project different company was running that project and we
- 4:46didn't have access to that system.
- 4:48So for us to be able to transform that project, we first
- 4:52of all have to go into that system on the standard system,
- 4:56transition that system, and then Pause from that system to the
- 5:02new platform that we want the system to run on.
- 5:06Now, one of the challenges that we had was after the transition
- 5:11in of the system because one of the complaints that they had,
- 5:15one of the reasons why they want that system, transformed was
- 5:19because of the issues. They were getting, they felt the
- 5:22system was not doing what you're supposed to do.
- 5:25The they hadn't, you know, different issues that they just
- 5:28wanted everything to change. JH.
- 5:30Now one of the challenges was because we were not just
- 5:34transforming the system, we were transitioning that system.
- 5:39And one of the things we transitioning is, you're
- 5:42basically taking moving everybody from one place to the
- 5:46other. Now, let me bring this back to
- 5:48Nigeria and politics. A PC P.
- 5:51DP Liberal Party. These are very cools, caring,
- 5:55people. Now, if you're saying all this
- 5:59vehicle, Has a problem. And then the driver is not
- 6:02driving properly. The conductors are not doing
- 6:05what you're supposed to do. The passengers are noisy.
- 6:08We just don't want, people are eating smelly food in this
- 6:11vehicle. I don't want to join this very
- 6:13cool anymore. I just want to go to that
- 6:16vehicle. That seems, you know, there are
- 6:18not much people there, but it seems Karma people are relaxed
- 6:22and having it looks like they're having fun.
- 6:25We transition work is people on a PC and PD.
- 6:29We will decide, you know what? We are tired of everybody.
- 6:33It seems that Labour party's having fun.
- 6:35Let us all move to label part. Everybody.
- 6:38We hated in a PC and PDP who literally transition from that
- 6:42to Liberal Party. So Peter will be coming in as
- 6:45the president thinking, you know, I can fix Nigeria, I can
- 6:49provide you opportunities, I can help the youth, I can fix our
- 6:53economy, I can do this, I can do that.
- 6:56Now, the people that are holding down The previous governments,
- 7:02these are legislators is a House of Assembly members.
- 7:05These are lawmakers who are, who left a PC and PDP back to
- 7:13Liberal Party. Will also do are exactly.
- 7:17They will bring that structure back to level par tea and we can
- 7:22sit down here and tell ourselves that.
- 7:24Listen, Peter will be will not allow that.
- 7:26He is just one man, he cannot make the law.
- 7:29He You enforce the law and because this is a Democratic
- 7:33Society. So, another thing is, let's look
- 7:38at the grassroot nobody is talking about state government.
- 7:41Nobody's talking about local government.
- 7:43Nobody is talking about your counselors.
- 7:46Nobody is talking about your representatives.
- 7:50There are so many people. There are state allocations are
- 7:53located, two different states, different, local, governments,
- 7:56different constituents, and these No be used.
- 8:01So let's say Peter we come in and he allocates all this money.
- 8:05He decided, you know what? Let's just put, that was video
- 8:08Hospital. You know what class hospitals in
- 8:13Nigeria? So that what happened to
- 8:15aquarium, uh, do you know happen to anybody Nigeria?
- 8:19So he signed a budget for the hospital to build.
- 8:23Now, where will it be built? If he said, okay Beauties in
- 8:26Alhambra, people are going to complain all because Or ebook is
- 8:30okay, but it in the not programs they are.
- 8:32He wants to, please do not okay. Build it in the, in the, in the
- 8:36west, they also. Okay.
- 8:38So we know the East and the north voted you.
- 8:42Now, you want to go and please to West.
- 8:44So the location first of all is going to be a problem.
- 8:47Now, even if they solve the location, it is somebody that is
- 8:51going to disperse that money for that construction or whatever to
- 8:55be that project to be implemented.
- 8:58These are the people that It's on top of the money and swallow
- 9:03eats. So Peter will be with all his
- 9:07good intentions coming in to do something very good for
- 9:10Nigerians. Would his?
- 9:12He will be stretching at the end of the day you'll be thinking.
- 9:16This is not what I expected from Peter will be.
- 9:18I expected more from Peter, will be I do this and I do that now
- 9:22bringing it back to even the youths that are clamoring for
- 9:26change. The youths that wants job
- 9:28opportunities. Who these same you actually
- 9:31prepare to work because it's it is One thing to want to change,
- 9:38it is another thing to work hard for that change.
- 9:41So let's say everybody is graduating.
- 9:44Everybody wants BtoB to create job opportunities and this job
- 9:47opportunities, everybody's thinking, or hoping that they're
- 9:51going to end stuff. Any very high, regardless of
- 9:56your experience, for that doesn't work.
- 9:58Even in a developed Society, you have to start from somewhere.
- 10:03You have to Climb the ladder. Are people patients one thing
- 10:08about the youths now is nobody is patience.
- 10:11Nobody wants to put in the work. Everybody want to got everybody
- 10:15want to bum bum. Everybody wants to blow over
- 10:18night. Everybody wants to start driving
- 10:20bends at the age of 16. This same yields.
- 10:23I mean, I saw a video online of a nine-year-old.
- 10:28Boy, took his friend Tony's friend, you know, accompany me
- 10:32to, to see friend of That's and he agreed to give all these a
- 10:37good ski for starts. So, this boy, accompany his
- 10:40friend not knowing that his friend was taking him to a
- 10:45ritual. I don't know what, why he
- 10:47thought that those people are ritualist, but he took his
- 10:52friend there so that he can use his friend for money, ritual.
- 10:57He mentioned the car and the house that he would buy from the
- 11:00proteins, or from his friends debts.
- 11:04This is a nine-year-old boy. This is not Nigerian government.
- 11:09This is not your state government.
- 11:11This is not your local government, this is an
- 11:13individual from the family. So, before we start thinking
- 11:17about, you know, from the top, the president doing things, the
- 11:23people that are going to use to disrupt those elections are
- 11:26still youths. They are still, you are night.
- 11:29There are so many videos on Facebook, whereby people think
- 11:34good. Tora elections people are
- 11:36selling their vote for 1500. People are selling their vote
- 11:40for 5,000. A comment on Facebook, they are
- 11:43proudly showcasing what they've got class in India for a loaf of
- 11:48bread. These are not the, the
- 11:51president, this is not the president's problem.
- 11:54This is not the state. This is not National Assembly.
- 11:57This is individuals in Nigeria. You see people, you do business
- 12:01with them, they want to cheat you.
- 12:03This is the mindset. Everybody wants to make money
- 12:07quickly. Everybody wants things that they
- 12:09could get Style, just give them immediate money.
- 12:13Nobody wants to build something that would last for the long
- 12:16run. Nobody wants to plant a seed and
- 12:19wait a couple of years for that seed to germinate.
- 12:22This is why I started talking about the transformation on
- 12:24transitioning of Nigerian politics.
- 12:27Let's say, if we are transitioning, you take the
- 12:31whole current people in. Ends you know the legislators
- 12:36lawmakers House of Assembly members the governors and
- 12:40everything. I you're transitioning them to
- 12:42evolve party ruling party, whatever.
- 12:47We still have the same people. We're still going to have the
- 12:49same problem. The problem has not changed
- 12:52because the same people are still there.
- 12:55Now, you decide, you know what? All those people, they are
- 12:58wicked. Their old, we need new, we need
- 13:01fresh blood basically. We need fresh blood.
- 13:04We need fresh people to come into this party and then you're
- 13:07transforming Nigerian politics into a new era in two, new
- 13:13mindsets new people. The reality is, the single
- 13:18common, man has that mindset to steal that mindset to take the
- 13:24it would take Nigeria money because that is their own part
- 13:28of their own National kick. You bring a new set of people,
- 13:32you put them in power. It is Going to be the same thing
- 13:35because they're going to tell you people before or did the
- 13:38same thing. Why should I be what should my
- 13:41case be different before we start talking about?
- 13:43Peter will be transforming Nigerian politics.
- 13:46Let us ask ourselves. If you are opportunity to get
- 13:52into certain positions would you do differently?
- 13:56What amateurs don't ask yourself would you know still money.
- 14:02Would you want to drive bends? This would, you not want to buy
- 14:06a house in London, in America and Canada Australia?
- 14:10Would, you know, want to enrich yourself?
- 14:12Just the way your predecessors has done, this is the problem.
- 14:17The problem is not without becoming in, the problem is not
- 14:20bulletin. Of the problem is not a chiku,
- 14:24the problem is our individual mindsets and that mindset needs,
- 14:30a total overhaul. People need to understand, you
- 14:33know, we talked about The advice to find economy, the youth are
- 14:37trying, don't get me wrong. We are trying because the only
- 14:40thing that is actually functioning in Nigeria is the
- 14:44entertainment industry. And that is not managed by the
- 14:48government. Or any political these are just
- 14:50used to doing things for themselves.
- 14:53That is the only thing that is flourishing in Nigeria because
- 14:57it is a decentralized system. Once there is a structural, once
- 15:02there is a hierarchy of things. It's the normal Nigerian person,
- 15:07we want to bribe, we want to steal, we want to kill to get to
- 15:13certain positions and that is just, that is just the way it's
- 15:18in our DNA. It's not Jenni now because these
- 15:25are the people that give birth to all, it's in their DNA.
- 15:27So, obviously with the Harris to hold the same thing.
- 15:31So I just think, We shall stop thinking differently.
- 15:36Think outside the box. Think about your local before
- 15:39you, you know, she'll start Warriors, not done anything.
- 15:44Think about your state governments, think about your
- 15:47local government, think about your local government.
- 15:49Chairman, what are they doing? If there's something that we
- 15:54talk about patient's, there are so many states that they've
- 15:58federal government have paid them are located, pensions
- 16:01payments them. But these people are not paying
- 16:04pensions. They are not paying salaries,
- 16:07they are not paying, I don't know, General Pain people but
- 16:14this same States, these same individuals.
- 16:18Who are they going to blame the victim, blame the government's.
- 16:21They're going to blame the president.
- 16:23So even if it's a waste coming in to transform, the whole lot
- 16:26of things. And the states, the local
- 16:30governments, the local governments cancel change.
- 16:33Man, or the local governments. Representative is not doing what
- 16:37they are supposed to do. That, is not going to change
- 16:39anything. And the moment we start holding
- 16:43the right people, accountable for what is happening in
- 16:47Nigeria. We're going to have a better
- 16:49country if your state government.
- 16:51You know, that that's a location has reached them and they are
- 16:55not doing what they're supposed to do with it.
- 16:58Don't worry, blink of minutes. This is the reason why I am
- 17:01talking about the perception. By us of The Obedience
- 17:05supporters and the perception is, we don't want all these old
- 17:09men to rulers. They don't know how to make
- 17:12money. They don't know how to diversify
- 17:14the economy. They don't know how to create
- 17:16job opportunities. They don't know how to utilize
- 17:19the koren's, you know, digital world to make money from
- 17:24Nigeria. We don't want old men, we want
- 17:28young blood and that is the perception.
- 17:31Now, the bias is Is a PC has been ruling knows.
- 17:36The worry is nothing. They are rubbish.
- 17:39PDP has been ruling us for a very long time.
- 17:42They to, they don't know what they are doing.
- 17:43So we want something. We don't want this to party, we
- 17:47just want something different. We want the label.
- 17:50If label is, what is going to take us there because labor is
- 17:54different. That is what we want.
- 17:57That is the bias now to bring this all together is the example
- 18:01I gave about Sean and the transitioning.
- 18:05Now, if you're transitioning, you're still taking everybody
- 18:09from point A to point B. So if you're having issues in
- 18:13point a and you thinking going to point B is going to solve the
- 18:16problem, you might get to point B and you realize that you
- 18:21having the same problem because you move literally moved
- 18:24everybody. That's how about problem from
- 18:27point A to point B. So even at that point B, you're
- 18:30still having the same problem. The people that you're still
- 18:33Going to hire what is their mindset.
- 18:35These are still Nigerians. These are so natural that are we
- 18:41have bribery and corruption in Duty knows.
- 18:44So how are you going to solve that problem?
- 18:46You're still going to get the same people with the same
- 18:49mindset into the system. That is still going to become a
- 18:53problem at that level. So what do we do?
- 18:58We need an overhaul of our mindset.
- 19:01We need to understand that Um, the president is not a problem.
- 19:08Anyone, the House of Assembly members are known because the
- 19:11same mindset that you have is the same mindset that they have.
- 19:15If they're going to fire us and get somebody from the streets
- 19:18and put them there. That person is still going to do
- 19:21the same thing. Everything is going to be 60
- 19:24going to steal money because they feel this is our national
- 19:27kick. This is what you're supposed to
- 19:29do. My father who has been suffering
- 19:32for years. Now, I have this This
- 19:33opportunity, I need to utilize it.
- 19:35I need to ensure that my generation and generation to
- 19:38come generational. Born is not going to suffer,
- 19:42because this is my one opportunity and that is what
- 19:46happens. So whether a PC Wikipedia P,
- 19:49whether Peter will be, whether article, whether Ebola tinubu is
- 19:54that a problem? No, we as individuals and as a
- 20:00problem, I know we can blame the government.
- 20:03From here to tomorrow. They are there issues.
- 20:06Because these governments are we ourselves.
- 20:09We are not foreigners, they are Nigerians.
- 20:12So, these are the same people. So before we blame governments
- 20:16before we blame the vehicle carrying over loot.
- 20:19Why don't you blame people that are sitting down?
- 20:22They know that these well, this is overload and this is what is
- 20:26work with no moving? Well, who is willing to come
- 20:29down to enable that vehicle to move the long and short story He
- 20:33is, if we want change, we have to, first of all within
- 20:37ourselves change. We have to.
- 20:39First of all, we didn't ourselves One impact, her life
- 20:42for ourselves, not just for ourselves, but the generation to
- 20:46come. If we can do that, we just might
- 20:50have that hope that Nigeria will be great again.
- 20:57So thank you very much for watching.
- 20:58Today's episode politics is not 40.
- 21:04What? I just think that sometimes it's
- 21:06not about politics. It's just black and white.
- 21:10What you see is logical? Where'd our party?
- 21:14No party. This person did that.
- 21:17We the politicians are we Nigerians?
- 21:21The our mindset is didn't You know, we can talk about this all
- 21:29day. Yeah, so yeah, let's just pray
- 21:35for Nigeria. If we do this, we have hope.
- 21:38We do have hope and God bless 9 giraffe.
- 21:42Thank you very much for watching.
- 21:43Today's episode. Bye.
