- 0:01The sun is shining cloud in the sky. We wouldn't know because we're so
- 0:07happy inside. Some people on some skis, but we would rather sit on
- 0:15down and talk some movies. We're the avid Indoorsmen. Come listen to our
- 0:21show. We're the avid indoorsmen at home on the go. We're the Avidendorsmen.
- 0:29We hope you love it, so come on in and stay. We'll
- 0:33do our best to make you smile. Indoors man, what is happening?
- 0:41I'm Rob Blundquist, can I'm and we are the evid Indoorsman. Hi buddy,
- 0:49Hi, how are you? I'm doing very well? Thank you had
- 0:52a very nice day. How about you? I'm good. I'm coming to
- 0:55you from my manager's house in Nashville. Love it, and I'm just taking
- 1:02over his living room. He's always so nice and lets you do that.
- 1:06I feel like we've done a sweet man. We have. Well, he's
- 1:08actually not here right now. He's got exciting stuff. His nephew is currently
- 1:14in the March Madness n It Tournament. Yea sick dude. That's awesome.
- 1:21His nephew plays for Cornell and so I knew he was playing in college.
- 1:26I guess I didn't know. That's awesome, d one in march madness.
- 1:29He's like, this might be a once in a lifetime thing. Yeah,
- 1:33I'm gonna go and check it out. You gotta go, nice man,
- 1:36that's really fun. Adam and I have commandeered his his house. You're like,
- 1:41cool, I'm so happy that you get to enjoy that. Can we
- 1:44still stay in your place? Though? How do we? Exactly? Yeah?
- 1:48No, he's the best. He's the best host. He's just such
- 1:49a good dude. And I told Adam that he better be quiet down.
- 1:55Yes, you keep your mouth shut, sir. Yeah, so we should
- 2:00be good. Yeah, nice man, that's awesome. Yeah, man,
- 2:01How did rehearsal go today? Rehearsal went well? Today was the first day
- 2:07of getting some new tunes in love that It's a little harry but exciting,
- 2:12right, but you know, yeah, you just have to think more than
- 2:15usual. Yep. Yeah, we have a new stage and so we had
- 2:19to, like, oh fun, figure out new staging for our old stuff.
- 2:23But I think it's going to be good. Nice, that's exciting.
- 2:27We still got a few more days down here, and we got two operate
- 2:29performances while we're down here as well. So that would be fun. That's
- 2:32cool, man, love I'm pecking it in. I love that. I
- 2:36love it. Yes, sir, but have you been watching any fun movies
- 2:38lately? Yeah? I watched a movie that I think you've seen because I
- 2:44think we maybe just talked about it. No, I know you've seen it.
- 2:46I also saw Drive Away Dolls. Drive Away Dolls, Tell Me Everything.
- 2:53I also loved this movie. I thought was really fun and silly.
- 2:57It was so silly, which I really appreciated. This is the half of
- 3:01the Coen Brothers, I guess right, because it's just Ethan and then his
- 3:07lovely lady, Tricia Cook I believe is her name, helped write and also
- 3:12it sounds like kind of co direct without maybe the title of co direct.
- 3:16But she's heavily involved and I think she's involved in a lot of their projects
- 3:21otherwise as well, which is fun. I think that's really cool. But
- 3:24yeah, this movie very Coheny. Like you said, all the characters are
- 3:30super silly and weird and fun. I don't know. I just really liked
- 3:35him, and yeah, I mean it ends up being kind of the same
- 3:38takes you had. I thought Margaret Qually was really fun, even though she
- 3:42was kind of a bizarre character in this and then Geraldine, Geraldine Viswanathan.
- 3:50I always have to make sure I read that one right. Is just a
- 3:53delight and I can't wait to see her in so many more movies. She's
- 3:58so funny and I I think she's actually a pretty good actor too. So
- 4:01it's a really fun It's a fun story about, you know, a couple
- 4:05of ladies who are lesbians, and that's not the main part of the story.
- 4:10I think we talked about that before too, which is kind of fun.
- 4:13And yeah, I don't know, I really liked it. I thought
- 4:15this is the movie was really fun. I thought, you know, it's
- 4:17nothing like groundbreaking or crazy or anything. It was just a good time and
- 4:23a fun little story and you're in, you're out, and I'll probably watch
- 4:27it again. I liked it. Yeah, it was quick. Yeah,
- 4:29it was very quick. Yeah, like you said, they had some weird
- 4:32in between stuff, very psychedelic y almost like cut scenes and things. And
- 4:42yeah, I don't know. My thought is still that like they were trying
- 4:45to make up for time or something. I don't know. It's very it
- 4:48was odd, but it didn't it didn't ruin the rest of it. I
- 4:50thought it was quite fun. So, yeah, how about you? What
- 4:55what movies have you been watching? It? It's so funny because I am
- 4:58going to talk to you about wonk. Oh my god, this is so
- 5:00great. But we're good at planning and we just flippy floppy now. To
- 5:04be fair, I had not seen Wonka when you were telling me about it.
- 5:09That's true, that is true. So I was not able to talk
- 5:12to you about that. But we had a family movie night and we watched
- 5:15Wonka and we all loved it. I did not know it was going to
- 5:20be a straight up musical. Yeah, yeah, that was wonderful. It
- 5:26was really good music. And loved that they kept pure imagination and the umpa
- 5:30lumpa tune in there. Yes, but yeah, Challamage is just doing everything
- 5:35right now. He is killing it. He's doing very well for himself.
- 5:39He's so good as Wonka too, Like I just that's such a hard part
- 5:43obviously. I guess he got helped out by Johnny Depp a little bit on
- 5:46that. But yeah, the bar was pretty low. Yeah, I'm with
- 5:49it. Olivia Coleman was a surprise to me. She was really fun in
- 5:54that I knew about Keegan Michael Key being there. I'd seen quite a few
- 5:59things with him in the trail. Okay, nice silly role, but all
- 6:02the sporting characters were great. It had some really touching moments. Lyddy and
- 6:06I both got pretty choked up. Absolutely, but yeah, I don't think
- 6:11it was too I don't think it was too scary for for little kids,
- 6:15and that wasn't sure what they would think. So that's great. Everything that
- 6:18I had read was saying like, oh, there's some really dark really and
- 6:21I was just like, I don't know, really not too bad. Yeah,
- 6:25which was nice. Yeah, that's great. Better than the alternative where
- 6:29you're like, oh god, oh gosh, turn this off. Now?
- 6:31What was the one you had to turn off? Like immediately onward? Onward?
- 6:36That's right, Yes, as soon as they are a spoiler alert if
- 6:41you haven't seen onward, even though this is like in the trailers, but
- 6:46as soon as they're able to get like half of their dad back, yes,
- 6:51the half of a person thing, we were done. There was absolutely
- 6:57not I'm done with this now, thank you. I did not think that's
- 7:01how that was gonna go. I know that's so funny. I mean it's
- 7:03not funny. I don't like that they felt that way, but it's like
- 7:08I want to guess that either, and that was probably like a oh okay,
- 7:11yeah, we'll just turn it off. It's fine. Imagine now that
- 7:14was probably like three years ago. I think we should probably take another run
- 7:16at it. Yeah, man, talk about boohooin Oh Bro. That movie
- 7:20is great though, Yes, but Wanka was great. Go check it out.
- 7:27It is streaming on Max. Nice. Speaking of streaming, have you
- 7:33been doing that recently? I also went to Max and watched another movie.
- 7:39Uh, this one not as charming. I saw Stealing Harvard. Did you
- 7:43ever see this movie? I think when it first came out. Yeah,
- 7:46it's funny. It's super old, well super old, but you know,
- 7:51super old at this point, and I'd never seen it, so I just
- 7:55kind of randomly was like, well, I mean it's Jason Lee, Tom
- 7:58Green and let Man or sort of the leads in it. And then you
- 8:03know, a bunch of fun people. Dennis Farina is in it, Megan
- 8:07Malally is in it, We get to see what is from Parks and rec
- 8:13her husband's name, Nick Offerman. Yes, he's in it for like a
- 8:18half a second, which I thought was funny, you know, obviously because
- 8:22he was probably just around. And then John C McGinley is in it.
- 8:24This movie Love Him wasn't great. It's not great. I remember thinking it
- 8:31was kind of a throwaway movie. Yeah, I think that's very accurate.
- 8:33Also, Richard Jenkins is in it and Chris pim I forgot to say them,
- 8:37and they're Yeah, they're both really good. So yeah, it's it's
- 8:41not bad by any means. It's got some really funny parts, but it's
- 8:45just kind of like, oh, okay, that's kind of a fun idea.
- 8:48And the whole idea is Jason Lee tells his niece that he's going to
- 8:56pay for her college if she ever gets into college because they're kind of like
- 9:00lower income folks and whatever, and uh forgets and then she does get into
- 9:05college, so he needs money and that's why they're stealing Harvard. Okay,
- 9:11Yeah, so if you want to see that, go for it. I
- 9:13wouldn't. Don't go out of here, right, But it's there if you
- 9:16want to see it. But how about you you've been streaming anything. It's
- 9:20funny because I'm a little lukewarm on this is one. I think I liked
- 9:24it. Yeah, I think I liked it more than you did, but
- 9:26or at least yeah, you I like this more than you liked stealing Harvard
- 9:33with you. Here we go. But you've seen this as well. This
- 9:35was an echo on Disney Plus. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, Oh
- 9:43funny. Oh is like your friends just started in Amazon. Ehl oh,
- 9:50that's so funny. And so it's talking about Disney Plus right now. You
- 9:56just amazing to Disney Plus. That is so funny. I forgot an echo
- 10:05is a thing. Yeah, that's funny. It is. And I will
- 10:07not say that word again. So you can do the name of the car
- 10:11tonight. You're not gonna be able to say. Wait, is it the
- 10:15echo one? It is, right, Yeah, yeah it is e ct
- 10:18Oh yes, ecto ecto. Yes, you're right, you're right. Okay,
- 10:22Well anyway, anyway, so this series, it's not my favorite of
- 10:28the Marvel shows. They did some cool things. The main actress a Laqua
- 10:33Cox. Yes, I think that's right. She's very good and it was
- 10:37fun also seeing some of the cast reservation dogs like Devarie Jacobs and John mclarnin,
- 10:43as well as a few more pretty small roles people that I recognize from
- 10:48that show. But man Vincentinafrio as Kingpin is just he's so awesome in that
- 10:56role. Good. They really need to like utilize him in a bit thing.
- 11:01Yes, because those were my favorite moments is when he's on screen.
- 11:07So it didn't hook me like a lot of the Marvel shows have, but
- 11:11it was it was okay, it was all right, and because I was
- 11:15just kind of feeling like it's okay, it's all right. There's only five
- 11:16episodes, so it's definitely worth worth it. At least. It wasn't super
- 11:22drawn out. Yes, you know what I mean. Yeah, I'm with
- 11:26you. I think it slightly more than you did, but I hear you.
- 11:30It was just fine. Yeah, I don't know why. I kind
- 11:33of went into it thinking it would be more but it was okay. I
- 11:37thought there was going to be more like Daredevil in it and stuff, and
- 11:41she really wasn't, not at all. So yeah, but an interesting character
- 11:48and she's really great. I think she's a very good actor. She was
- 11:50good. Yeah with you on that nice love it. Well, what do
- 11:54you thinks you would do if you plug her? Runies? I think we
- 11:56should. Let's do it. You guys, get business as always over on

- 12:31Jackie Houston, Deb Broke, and Noel Flores. You guys are wonderful.
- 12:35Thanks so much for being patrons. Yeah, and another perk that we'll give
- 12:39our patrons is an extended version of every episode we put out, we'll do
- 12:43a top five draft that pertains to the movie we're talking about, and for
- 12:46this one came up with our top five favorite movie secretaries and or assistance.
- 12:52What a great pull by you on this one, Good John, Thank you.
- 12:56I was having a hard time. I was like kids. Things we
- 13:00loved that we would accidentally choose as the destroyer, Rob, what do you
- 13:05like? Responded when you were just like, oh can't. We're having a
- 13:11hard time, guest, what do you think we should do? I was,
- 13:15I was having a hard time. I was like, I shows I'm
- 13:18trying. You were you were? You threw something out there. There's no
- 13:22bad ideas. It wasn't good, but I did throw it out there.
- 13:26If I only said my good ideas, I never would have spoken my entire
- 13:30life. Yes, but that should be a ton of fun. Also coming
- 13:33attractions, we're gonna do Ghostbusters too. Next who are you gonna call?
- 13:37I can't wait. It's gonna be great. I think I might like to
- 13:41more than one. We'll talk more about this coming up. Hot take right
- 13:45off the bat. No, it's not actually true. I do love to
- 13:48though that little weird guy. It's so fun too. We're talking about one
- 13:52today though. One one today. It's having an anniversary, I believe right,
- 13:56fortieth fortieth anniversary. That makes me feel weird on the inside. But
- 14:01fortieth anniversary. And we decided, if we're gonna do Ghostbusters, we had
- 14:07to get our very own slimer friend. He's our stay puffed marshmallow man.
- 14:11He's our librarian that wants everyone to be quiet in the library. Nice.
- 14:18No, he's just a good buddy and we think it's gonna be fun.
- 14:20Let's welcoming back, Bennie, ellig what's up? Benny? What up?
- 14:26Fellas? Hi? Are you so good? How are you too? Oh
- 14:37my god, it's very cute and lovely. So nice to have you back.
- 14:43It's really great to be back. I'm not gonna lie. Yeah,
- 14:48I should have worn some Vikings apparel, clearly, I'm just it's free agency,
- 14:52man, free agency is banging away. I have my Vikings song on,
- 14:58but I feel like that's an appropriate show. It's actually a pretty big
- 15:03set of underwear, but it looks like a thong. Then you're muted again.
- 15:09Come on. The audience didn't laugh at that. Clearly amazing the audience.
- 15:20I was only meaning to you, they'll hear you. That's true.
- 15:22That's true, they will hear. But for you, I yelled, prove
- 15:24it when you said the thing about your large underpants again, audience, you
- 15:31already heard it. I'll send you some tasteful shots later. No worries,
- 15:35it'll be nice, don't do it nice. Robbie does not want to get
- 15:39them to be tasteful. I have to get the wide angle lens for that,
- 15:43so I can't do it right now. Just filthy ones stalthy you let
- 15:48them be tasteful called the bear eye. Yeah, really accentuates different parts of
- 15:58the animal. I think it's more Harry and less Harriet at the same time.
- 16:04It's very strange. If you're still with us, Yeah, yeah,
- 16:10we have Benny Elich here, who we love so much. Benny, you
- 16:15got another show coming up. You're gonna be on FBI Most Wanted. Huh,
- 16:21baby, dude, I'm so excited. That's fine and tune in.
- 16:26I'm excited for my mom to call and be like, I think I saw
- 16:29Benny on TV. My folks will definitely do that as well. Make sure
- 16:34that you don't call Dylan McDermott, dermott mulroney. Okay, make sure you
- 16:40don't know that unlocked. That's like, that's like oh Josh Dumal Alliphant,
- 16:48you know man or Bill Pullman, Bill Paxson. Well, that doesn't happen
- 16:53anymore, but it did. Yeah yeah, Rob, you know, and
- 17:00spying or something. You know, they're so cute. Obviously get you works.
- 17:07I felt like that it's air but I believe it's season five, episode
- 17:11ten, So I guess shell you check your check your local listings, your
- 17:15TV guide. Yes, yes, yeah, I'll crack that out later.
- 17:19That's exciting. Well, congrats, buddy, that's fun. That's big.
- 17:23Appreciate big news, appreciate love it. But yeah, guys, we're here
- 17:29to talk about Ghostbusters today. Think it's fortieth anniversary was previously discussed, and
- 17:36I think we should just really get right into it. What do you guys
- 17:38think? Are you into it? Yes? Yes, okay, Rob?
- 17:41Will you get it started with just a rough stops sure. After the members
- 17:47of a team of scientists lose their cushy positions at a university in New York
- 17:52City, they decide to become Ghostbusters to wage a high tech battle with a
- 17:56supernatural for money. They dumble upon a gateway to another dimension, a doorway
- 18:02that will release evil upon the city. The Ghostbusters must now save New York
- 18:07from complete destruction. Nice, nice, good work, good works. Let's
- 18:15go to Rotten Tomatoes and hear what they have to say. Critics have it
- 18:18coming in at a rock solid ninety five percent. Ninety five bro as the
- 18:23critics, that's crazy that I love it. Is higher than Oppenheimer from the
- 18:30critics, which is fair to us in forty years Oppenheimer, I mean,
- 18:33come on fair, Yeah, yeah, with it, I know which one
- 18:37I'd rather rewatch. Yeah, that that is true. Come true. Yeah,
- 18:42well we can watch one twice and one once, so that's true.
- 18:47That is also true. Yeah, audience members have this at eighty eight percent,
- 18:51so still very high, but lower, which I'm surprised by. Means
- 18:53I would have absolutely thought that would have been switched around. But I do
- 18:56feel like that. Do you think people made the mistake of trying to put
- 19:02a bad review for the other Ghostbusters movie and accidentally did it for the old
- 19:07one. Not a bad theory. I didn't hate that movie, by the
- 19:11way. It wasn't amazing, but it wasn't bad. We're gonna get We're
- 19:15going to get to that. We're gonna have some I have some things.
- 19:19I'm excited. I'm excited. Well, let's get into what we think.
- 19:22Let's it's time for our hot take. Take. That's a hot take more
- 19:33you're gonna call Okay, it was painful because it's been happening a lot,
- 19:38is what I saw. It was like something hot was happening to everyone,
- 19:42Yes, thank you, you get me across the streams certain rooms and are
- 19:56oh yeah, that's been brought up a few times. I can go first
- 20:00this one first. I feel like I don't really have a hot take other
- 20:02than this is one of my all time favorite movies. It's super great.
- 20:07I think the music in it is super fun, It's obviously wickedly hilarious.
- 20:14Yeah, I don't know, I just I really like this movie. It's
- 20:17it's scarier than I remember, not like scary scary, but like they really
- 20:22try to make it kind of moody, and I guess I mostly remember the
- 20:25comedy parts, but I thought it really worked. They had some I assume
- 20:27for the time, really cool visual effects and stuff that are maybe like a
- 20:33tiny bit showing their age, But to me, that just helps with the
- 20:37nostalgic part of it. Sure than like you know, a downside or anything
- 20:41like that. But yeah, I just think at the heart of it,
- 20:45this is a super silly, fun movie that has a bunch of great quips
- 20:49in it. I think I read in the trivia that like most every scene
- 20:55has at least some portion that's ad libbed, which totally makes sense. It
- 20:57feels that way and it just it doesn't take itself too seriously while also sticking
- 21:03to, you know, like a regular plot. And yeah, I just
- 21:07really liked it. I don't even know. I don't even know what else
- 21:11to say other than I would have gladly helped clean up the streets of New
- 21:15York from that marshmallow madness. Yeah. I really useful in that scenario.
- 21:21Yeah, I like that. Yeah, but that's all I got. That's
- 21:22the hottest take I've gotten. Hot take, buddy, very hot. I
- 21:27think this movie is so much fun. It brought me right back to when
- 21:33I was a kid watching it. And I brought this up to you the
- 21:34other debuts, but I distinctly remember having a buddy of mine sleepover when we
- 21:40were pretty young, and he was going through our movie collection and he wanted
- 21:42to watch Ghostbusters and I was like, yeah, and we started it,
- 21:48and it was that first scene in the library when the librarian is walking around
- 21:52and the books or floating and stuff, and I was like, I was
- 21:53like kind of starting to freak out and thinking I was going to like have
- 21:56nightmares or something. But I was like, maybe we should watch something else.
- 22:00I've seen this so many times. It's amore, right, But really
- 22:07I was just kind of freaking out. But watching that first scene really brought
- 22:11me back to that. This film was nominated for two Oscars, one for
- 22:17Best Visual Effects, Like you had said, it was you know, breaking
- 22:22ground at the time, and the other one was for Best Original Song for
- 22:29Ray Parker June. That makes a lot of sense iconic song. It was
- 22:33directed by Ivan Rightman, who's made some of our favorite comedies and a few
- 22:38we've done on the pod here like Stripes and Twins and Kindergarten Cop. He
- 22:45makes some funny movies. I always knew that Ramis and Ackroyd wrote it,
- 22:49but did not know that Rick Moranis was a writer on it as well.
- 22:55Until that's cool? Did he get a I only wonder if did he get
- 23:02a writing credit because I know he really like made up his whole character.
- 23:06So when you look at IMDb, he is on there as a writer.
- 23:10But I don't know if, Like I just wonder in the day because we
- 23:14can get into later with trivia right right, sure, his character, but
- 23:18I do from what I know, he like made up most of that,
- 23:22yeah, including the backstory and all that. So yeah, super cool.
- 23:26We can talk about that later for sure, but the cast was so much
- 23:30fun. They really gelled well together. I thought Bill Murray obviously is just
- 23:36the best. Such a fan, and this is another quintessential eighties film.
- 23:41The music, the fashion, the special effects. It's very very eighties.
- 23:45And yeah, this is just an iconic film that pretty much everyone knows or
- 23:51at the very least knows about. Such a big part of pop culture.
- 23:56They keep making more so even kids today are familiar with it. Just the
- 24:00gift that keeps on given. And I just think it's a very good time.
- 24:03I love it. Take Benny what you got, buddy. I mean,
- 24:10I'm just gonna I'm piggyback on a lot of what you guys said.
- 24:12I I'm not someone who can, ever, as I assume you guys are,
- 24:18say what my quote unquote favorite movie is. I think that's a real
- 24:22question for people like us. But undoubtedly when I get asked that question,
- 24:30this movie is brought up. There are a few movies I've seen more than
- 24:37this movie. And uh, you know, like Robbie you had the story
- 24:41about the sleepover. I vividly remember watching this movie when I had a babysitter,
- 24:51and I, I mean, I couldn't have been more than like,
- 24:52you know, five or six years old probably, and I remember she was
- 24:56like off playing with my my brother, and I just sat in the living
- 25:00room by myself and watched it. I don't think it was the first time
- 25:04I had seen it, but I just remember being that young and loving it.
- 25:07I just like loved it from the get go. Sure, and when
- 25:11people ask what your favorite Christmas present was ever, it was probably my Proton
- 25:17pack. Oh nice, because those were so cool and it was incredible.
- 25:23And I also, obviously I'm an actor now, so I liked dressing up
- 25:27when I was a kid, so it was like a costume and a toy.
- 25:33Anyway, this movie, I'm not a big get off my lawn person
- 25:37about things, you know. I don't like when people talk about millennials and
- 25:45the other generations. I'm always like, come on, everyone feels this way
- 25:48about every generation, but I really this is one of them. I'm like,
- 25:52do we make movies like this anymore? Because to your point, Viuds,
- 26:00it's a little creepy. And what I love about this movie is they
- 26:06just made a really cool action genre movie and then allow allowed the actors to
- 26:15kind of make it funny. I don't feel like this is written necessarily as
- 26:21a comedy. I feel like the comedy comes from letting like Bill Murray cook
- 26:25On said, and you know what I mean, And I just yeah,
- 26:30because there's not like a lot of like set up bits. There's not bits,
- 26:34there's no there's no slapstick. There's not even really joke lines per se.
- 26:38There's there's clever lines that are funny, but they're not outright laugh lines,
- 26:45which I love so much about this movie and like and movies. Of
- 26:48my closest comp obviously is Back to the Future, which I feel like is
- 26:55exactly in line with this movie, this high genre special EFFECTSI movie that again
- 27:02wasn't written funny, which clearly we know because uh, what's his name got
- 27:07fired two weeks in ER. But then you know, Michael J. Fox
- 27:15comes in with the same script and there's comedy, and I just I just
- 27:21appreciate that. I think nowadays they try, they try so hard to make
- 27:26things funny with funny stuff, and I think like Apatow maybe figured it out
- 27:32a little like let the actors just kind of do their thing. And Adam
- 27:34McKay and Adam McKay absolutely, but like Ugues, you brought up, we
- 27:41don't. I don't want to go on the tangent necessarily. Now with the
- 27:45reboot of Ghostbusters, I thought that was a great idea. I loved that
- 27:51it was women. I loved everything. But all they needed to do is
- 27:56write a cool action movie like these guys did and let all of those really
- 28:00funny women just do their thing, because they would have been funny regardless,
- 28:04Like you don't need to write Christian wigg and Melissa McCarthy Jokelis McCarthy. Yeah,
- 28:10sure they're going They're going to be funny, just like Bill Murray,
- 28:14Like you don't need to write them anything, like, let's just do this
- 28:17movie. And and so I just I love this kind of movie where they're
- 28:22not even trying to be funny, it just is funny. I actually think
- 28:25the f VFX hold up surprisingly well. Yeah, for sure, they mix
- 28:30between animatronics and animation and stop motion or whatever, you know, all the
- 28:37things. The Yeah, the only things that looked pretty dated were just the
- 28:41actual proton packs. Sure, yeah, that was sure. I thought looked
- 28:48so great. Well, yeah it was so cool, and like the ghosts
- 28:52were really cool. It was just those those proton packs that looked a little
- 28:57and some of the like lasers flying through the city. Of course, the
- 29:00gross were like rising. But I mean again, it's everyone's so quick to
- 29:07see GI nowadays because it's so easy that you know. Yeah, and it
- 29:11doesn't always look better, right, I missed a little of the creativity.
- 29:14But yeah, yeah, I just this is one of my favorite movies of
- 29:18all time. And I just I love it so much. Hot hot,
- 29:22hot take. Oh, I love it. I love it. Well,
- 29:26let's let's attempt to not cross the streams as we name our favorite acting performance.
- 29:30Let's name the dude the dude. I'm the dude, so that's what
- 29:36you call me, you know that, or his dudeness or duder or you
- 29:42know, eldudo reno if you're not into the whole brevity thing. Yeah,
- 29:45I think the streams are going to be crossed here. It will be my
- 29:48guest, But Benny, what's your favorite acting performance? You guys don't need
- 29:53to go first, Yeah, yes, sure, you. I mean,
- 30:00look, obviously Bill Murray is the star turn here. Yeah, but that's
- 30:07my pick for sure. It's not really a question, no, and it
- 30:14he's one of those movies where I would love to I'm sure you can find
- 30:18it pretty easily just read the like shooting script for this. I would love
- 30:23to know what was actually written for him, because it cannot be that much
- 30:29way. I mean, my goodness, And look, he's always been like
- 30:33this, but you know, he just always has something to say, but
- 30:40it's always so it's so well, it's so subtle. He's just so subtle
- 30:45as opposed as opposed to like Will Ferrell or you know, Kevin you know,
- 30:51people of our kind of newer generation now, like he's so or something.
- 30:56Yeah, Like he's just so subtle and so dry and just kind of
- 31:03in command of every scene. His delivery is always so funny. I mean,
- 31:08you know, I don't know, it's it's it's just so wonderful.
- 31:12Has he had like the most successful career of someone who really just plays himself
- 31:18basically every time, you know what I mean, or the same ish guy
- 31:22every time. Anyway, I think that's really fun and interesting, but it
- 31:26always works. I always like it. Yeah, I mean well, and
- 31:30look, I mean playing quote unquote yourself is still very difficult. I mean
- 31:37you're saying, and he and he's someone who, yeah, playing himself,
- 31:41but he's also just writing a movie as he goes essentially totally. And he's
- 31:48also you know, famously has no agent. Still, I think you just
- 31:51like call him on his stuff secret line, right, Isn't that how he
- 31:55ended up getting Garfield because it was by someone named Cohen or something and he
- 32:00thought it was the Coen Brothers. It was like Cohen like, yeah,
- 32:06yeah, so I want we don't need I mean, I would like to
- 32:12talk about the other actors since there's not that many of them, is but
- 32:15if you guys want to talk about uh yeah, I mean Bill Murray one
- 32:19hundred percent, I have no notes, he's perfect. Yeah, yeah,
- 32:22so we can. Let's let's go to the Tucci. Well, I would
- 32:27just like to say, well, just co co dude, I do you
- 32:30know the three because the three of them really are like a unit in this
- 32:35movie. Yeah, I just feel like they they all need each other as
- 32:39far as this award goes. I just you know, when we did Great
- 32:45Outdoors, I think I said, my the best three Achrooyd performances ever were
- 32:52Great Outdoors, My Girl and Ghostbusters. Sure. And I do think he's
- 33:00just he's really lovely in this movie, just playing like a normal dude.
- 33:02He's very nerdy, very nerdy, but he's always kind of got that nerd
- 33:07to him. Yeah, I guess I'm jumping on Tucci, but I just
- 33:15want to talk about everyone, you know. I am sorry, absolutely,
- 33:16yeah, I get it. Move along, Please stop me. Yeah,
- 33:21well, let's see the Tucci Award, Tauty, do you want to start
- 33:25with dan Aykroyd. Benny is so good, Just like Aldie said, I
- 33:30just think he's he's just so he's so normal in this movie, because in
- 33:36SNL he's always playing a big character. And I when we did Great Outdoors,
- 33:39you know, I talked about how I thought I thought that was such
- 33:42a very specific character he came up with. Yeah, and I think he's
- 33:46I don't necessarily think he's like the greatest actor per se, but I think
- 33:52when he's very specific about what he's doing, he can be really good.
- 33:55Sure, And I think in this one he's just really being a good just
- 34:02a very regular He's kind of the most grounded dude of the three of them.
- 34:07I guess. Yeah, so you can make the case for you can
- 34:09make the case for Egon and him, I guess. But yeah, I
- 34:13was gonna say that too. His like excitedness for what was happening really He's
- 34:20got like a fun, fun innocence about him. He's he's kind of a
- 34:23dufus, but like really knows the stuff too. Yeah, I love that.
- 34:27That's great. There's such a fun trio. They really are. And
- 34:31Harold Ramis, I mean, I I just I feel like they all need
- 34:35to be talked about, because, Yeah, it's a good trio. Ramis
- 34:40is so committed to the high nerd buttoness, very serious. He's more serious
- 34:47than Dank, right, Yeah, but his seriousness is funny too. Yeah,
- 34:52and I just look good. I think they do such a good job
- 34:55together. They do so please someone else. I was gonna give the Tucci
- 35:04to Rick Moranis as totally what a delight he is after Bill Murray. He's
- 35:10the guy I think about in this movie when I'm just looking back, and
- 35:14just how goofy he was in this so funny. I loved how he always
- 35:19knew when Sigourney Weaver was coming home, even in the middle of that party
- 35:22and she's tiptoeing by his apartment. Still pops his head out. But yeah,
- 35:29him being the key master was just so much fun. It's incredible.
- 35:32Is this the time to talk about that or is that a trivia thing absolutely,
- 35:37Yeah, yeah, talk about it. I know this role was written
- 35:39for John Candy, right, and yeah, he had come up with all
- 35:45this stuff like he was going to be a German and like, yes,
- 35:51he's going to be a dog breeder. That was one of the big things
- 35:53that he would not He said, I have to be this like, well,
- 35:58no, they're these big dogs in this and people are going to be
- 36:00confused. Right, yeah, did he does not want to do it?
- 36:05Was he like, I have a vacation planned for the same time. Well
- 36:08it wouldn't. I mean, he wasn't like a big star yet. I
- 36:13mean, I I don't know that's true. It's just it's weird. This
- 36:15whole thing is weird because it it seems to go against everything else I've ever
- 36:20heard about John Candy. Yeah, Like, I don't remember ever being like
- 36:22the type of person who's like, I have these choices in this and that's
- 36:28how it's gonna be. So I don't know, and I don't I don't
- 36:30remember if did they just decide to go a different direction or did it end
- 36:35up he just couldn't do it. Did splash happen maybe or yeah, I
- 36:39don't remember when happened? Yeah, they just went. I think they just
- 36:44went like they were like, Okay, what's not gonna work. We're going
- 36:46a different way. Sorry audience, if you know, And we just didn't
- 36:50research it. But but also what I've basically read is that Rick moranis came
- 36:55up with his whole shtick, the whole tax cp A thing, the whole
- 37:04kind of everything other than obviously there where he ends up in the story,
- 37:08but which is so perfect, such a it's so great, and it's just
- 37:15it's it's one of those things like the movie doesn't quote unquote need that backstory,
- 37:20but it's right, it's wonderful, and I am still I'm still so
- 37:25hopeful. I'm seeing the new one on Thursday this week, and I'm so
- 37:31hopeful he's going to be in it. I haven't looked. I don't want
- 37:35to know, like, but he will. But it would it would delight
- 37:39me to no end if he just even just showed up for a second,
- 37:43like, I would just be so happy. It really would. It would
- 37:46be so great. I mean only if he wants to, obviously and all
- 37:50that, but it would be as it would be really great. I don't
- 37:53care if he wants to. I don't care what he wants. I want
- 37:58to get on a plane, Come on, Rick, I just watched a
- 38:01Parenthood the other night, just for a little fun. Rewatch Wong Time as
- 38:07one of my all time faves. I love that movie. Little Joaquin,
- 38:12Right, wasn't Joaquin the kid? Little Joaquin? Dude? The cast Keanu,
- 38:19Diane West, Mary Mary Steinberg, and Jason Robards. A lot of
- 38:27oscars in that movie. Yeah that's man so good. Love that well,
- 38:37you guys said a bunch of the ones. I was gonna pick all throughout.
- 38:39Annie Potts here as Janine Melnitz because she's just so right. And part
- 38:45of what I loved about Harold Raymons's performance was those two interacting together. She's
- 38:52flirting with him so hard, and I just like, doesn't get it,
- 39:00comes around a little and but yeah, yeah, yeah, for sure he
- 39:02is just stonewalling are hard, But I love her. She's such a fun
- 39:08character. She's just so like so Sonati and whatever and has that great voice
- 39:15and I just love her. I didn't realize, and maybe it's because I'm
- 39:19older now, but like she was so young in this like kind of remembered
- 39:23her being like middle aged more but at least super super young when we were
- 39:30kids, you know, right right, Yeah, but now I'm like,
- 39:32oh, well she's a babe like and she's pretty young, and it's great.
- 39:37Yeah, I just thought of the line. But I think it's Ghostbusters
- 39:40too. And when Vankan's like he's still charming the chicks with that big cranium
- 39:47a year's home and he's like, I think they're more interested in my epididymous.
- 39:53I think that's too though, that's for another pod. Yes, yes,
- 39:59so good. Sigourney Weaver was pretty great. I mean, we can't
- 40:02talk about her. She deserves an Academy Award just for not breaking sirius.
- 40:08Bill Murray is just saying all those things. She's trying to be zuel.
- 40:14There is even I do say, though, I swear there's a couple of
- 40:19times in the movie where I'm really I feel like she's trying hard not to.
- 40:22Yeah. Yeah, probably I didn't obviously notice till later in life.
- 40:27But also what a brilliant casting, like for the time, just she was
- 40:31kind of the alien was so big. Yeah, just kind of the queen
- 40:37of science fiction a little bit obviously with like Carrie Fisher at the time.
- 40:43But yeah, you know, so good but also flexing, like she does
- 40:46the full one eighty in this movie from She's almost in a procedural crime show
- 40:57rom com and then just goes full science fiction in the same It's impressive.
- 41:05Yeah, agreed, I just fact she was good at her career of like
- 41:08doing different stuff. Yeah, yes, movies and then I'm in Working Girl
- 41:15and then I'm you know, and she's wonderful she is. And has there
- 41:22ever been a more unlikable character than William Atherton in every single thing that he
- 41:29does. Man, this guy is a god to the core. It seems
- 41:31he's so smart, however so good. I don't know, is this the
- 41:37time to have this conversation. Yes, Walter Pack is not really a villain.
- 41:47Here's the thing the e p A. Yeah, yes, his actual
- 41:51character. Yeah, Walter Pack is his name. Yes, Rayam Atherton definitely
- 41:54has smarm to him. But the funny thing is is thank goodness they cast
- 42:00him, because this dude comes into Venkman's office and Venkman is immediately a total
- 42:10to him for zero reason, and my man is in there asking wildly logical
- 42:20questions and it's just like you know, I mean, Venkman comes in just
- 42:28hot for no reason. It's just already a butthole of this dude. And
- 42:31yes again William Ethergon wonderful, smarmy, and thank God to cast him,
- 42:37because if that had been like a nice dude, we'd all be like,
- 42:38why is Peter Fankman relaxed? Nan could have diffused that situation easy, like
- 42:49come on man. Also the EPA and to his point later on, so
- 42:57just because we shut the power down, the freaking apocalypse happens. They had
- 43:02some fair questions, that's all I'm saying. Absolutely did well, and they
- 43:07there's only three people that know how to run that, right, and like
- 43:09they didn't even tell their new fourth guy how to do stuff like I mean,
- 43:17Ray gave him a thirty second to the things actually real simple, open
- 43:24the trap, inswered the tank, No, undo the trap, traps clean
- 43:30the thing. I'm like, you just did like thirty steps, bro.
- 43:32You told him in like fives, like it took us longer to train people
- 43:37at Dairy Queen when I worked there. You know, well that's serious business,
- 43:42to be fair to your point, you know, this is also on
- 43:47one one in three hundred millionth time watching this movie. That no, right,
- 43:54it is funny though, really it's a real thing, a point in
- 44:01his he was but casting that dude plays a wonderful, smarmy die Hard like
- 44:09we die Hard. We hate him in die Hard. Is that is that
- 44:13two? He's in both? He's in one and two. Yeah, what
- 44:17is his role? I don't even remember? That's right, he's yeah,
- 44:23yeah, and she like punches him out after she comes down there. No,
- 44:28that's just too though, right, because she meets him on the plane.
- 44:31That's that's on that's in one. That's in both. Man, I
- 44:35think he's into both of them. Yeah, maybe it's also in Biodome,
- 44:40which is what I know him best from. Wow, that's hilarious. That's
- 44:44hilarious. Biodome way too much. But then we didn't talk about Ernie.
- 44:50We gotta talk about Ernie Hudson. He was great Ernie. Actually I feel
- 44:53bad for Ernie. Yeah, apparently his part was bigger. Yeah, apparently
- 45:01I was supposed to originally go to Eddie Murphy, right, And there was
- 45:05like a whole big backstory about him being I think in the military or something
- 45:10in the military explosives and stuff like that, and I guess they kind of
- 45:15they kind of pulled the rugout from under him, like the day before they
- 45:20started, he had agreed to do it for less money, and then when
- 45:23he got there on set, they had cut his part a bunch and he
- 45:28just had less to do, which is kind of a bummer. Which is
- 45:30funny because again, this is a perfect movie and it's the greatest thing ever
- 45:37or whatever. But right, having watched it four million times, like this
- 45:43movie could easily be twenty five minutes longer. I mean right, right,
- 45:49you know, it was quick, so many things could have gotten a little
- 45:52more like flat. I mean, you know today, if this came out,
- 45:54it'd be over two hours for sure. I think, what is it's
- 45:58like one forty five or something. It's I think so yeah. I mean
- 46:02I wasn't mad at it. No, I'm not. I'm not mad at
- 46:05at all. But you know, yeah, a little a little fleshed out
- 46:08of his character wouldn't have been bad. But he's just funny because he's kind
- 46:14of our like he's us a little bit. Yeah, he's like, what
- 46:16the hell are you talking about? You know, like catch me up here
- 46:21or whatever. You know. Well, it's funny too because you know at
- 46:23that point they're kind of like famous. Yeah, and he's the only one
- 46:29coming to apply, right, you know, it seems like they'd have like
- 46:32a line out the door for people, and I feel like it'd almost be
- 46:37cool if it was like, well, this dude's got military experience and yeah,
- 46:40you know, everyone else is just kind of a some some like butthole
- 46:45like us, like I want to be a ghost booster like you see real
- 46:50ghost this. But I even thought, I even thought in the in the
- 46:54scene in the Mayor's office, you know, if he was like, look,
- 46:58I'm I'm retired Marine Corps. You know, I don't know. I
- 47:04just like that backstory. I think it's cool. I do too, but
- 47:07whatever, it's he did good with what they gave him, for sure,
- 47:10and he was you fit right in and was funny and great. Yeah yeah,
- 47:15and like you said, a nice a nice like you know us us
- 47:21looking for you, yes, right, yeah, And speaking of Diehard,
- 47:25wasn't it fun Sie and Reginald Deville Johnson for a second? Yes, I
- 47:30kind of forgot he was in yes second yeah, yeah, not very long
- 47:36for sure. Yeah, but it was fun. Well, I've read an
- 47:37interview with him before that he had like been trying forever and just one of
- 47:44those like he was really close to calling it, and then die Hard happened
- 47:51crazy and he was like, I feel like I heard those stories a lot.
- 47:54Yes, for sure, I'm sure I'll have one soon for you.
- 48:02I have one. I have one every time until you guys tell me we're
- 48:06going to do the pod and then I and then you get get some job.
- 48:08So appreciate you. I love it. Yeah, was there anybody else
- 48:14you guys wanted to chat about? Characterise? Think? So? All right,
- 48:22Well then why don't we go and talk about our favorite scene? And
- 48:23let's pick the Dinguss is quite simple, really, Dingus, Dingus. I
- 48:30could talk about my Dingus all night long. Benny, you know this movie
- 48:36better than us. It's tough. Can you pick a favorite scene? It's
- 48:42tough for me. It's really tough. I mean, oh, I mean,
- 48:50look, I can never because this is almost to me like a superhero
- 48:58movie A little bit sure, because you know, when I was kid,
- 49:01I loved dressing up and I loved you know, so I loved like original
- 49:06Superman and original Batman. And you know this because they they're kind of like
- 49:12superheroes. You know. I think when you when you get an action figure
- 49:16line and a cartoon, we can we can put you in that in that
- 49:21category. So you know, I think the first time they suit up is
- 49:27pretty great, and I would I would, I guess I would put into
- 49:31a clump just the the slimer sequence, well yeah, just the they're at
- 49:37the table and Chinese food and they get the call down the pole, first
- 49:42time you see the car, first time you see them geared up, and
- 49:46then just into the hotel sequence. Yeah, yeah, is pretty great.
- 49:52I mean, you know again, it's like a superhero move. It's like
- 49:53the first time you see see someone geared up. Yes, and it's epic.
- 50:01I also love that it starts with her like we got you know,
- 50:06like it's so good. This scene leading up to it is even funny.
- 50:08You know him, I'm gonna need to draw some petty cash. I should
- 50:14take her out to dinner and we don't want to lose. Well, this
- 50:17magnificent feast represents the last of the petty cash and then slow down, chew
- 50:23your food. But yeah, her with the we got one bell ring into
- 50:30the into the music is it's so good. Well, you know, you
- 50:37know Akroyd. The music is so blues brothers, the achroy the not orchestrated
- 50:44music which we should also talk about later too, But so yeah, I
- 50:49mean I would have loved an actual gear Up show us gear Up scene,
- 50:53but I love it. I love that. Yeah. If if we combined
- 51:00that into the slimer sequence, them just destroying that hotel in that ballroom was
- 51:09so funny, dude, and then just like, oh, well we'll put
- 51:13it back, no problem, you don't want to pay, that's fine.
- 51:15Yeah, yeah, right. I love all of that, and the fact
- 51:21that they've just never even tested anything. They yeah and be fine. Clearly
- 51:27these things could just murder someone. Yep, we never we never see someone
- 51:32just actually get wrecked with one of these. We almost lost a maid,
- 51:37but we didn't totally totally. Yeah, they had already started using their proton
- 51:44packs. And then you gos like, oh yeah, I forgot to tell
- 51:45you don't cross the streams. Don't do that because cataclysmic event. That's fine.
- 51:52It's basically yeah, we're just creating a black hole the Earth will get
- 51:58sucked into, so try not to try not to do that. I would
- 52:02I would absolutely pick that for The dingis a runner up. When I think
- 52:08of this movie, I think of the Staypuff marshmallow Man. Yeah, so
- 52:12that final action sequence they're on the roof, Goeser says, pick who you
- 52:16want is your destroyer. I couldn't just dead ak Roight. So he's so
- 52:22good in that scene. His vacant expression during that is so great. I
- 52:27love it so much of the sweetest thing, even the staypuff thing in this
- 52:31movie. For some reason, maybe it's just the way they had to do
- 52:34it then with no CGI, but like it seems so much less slapsticky to
- 52:39me than would be done today, you know what I'm saying, Like today,
- 52:45I think there would be gags with the people. It wouldn't seem like
- 52:50they were basically like, Nope, we're gonna make a Godzilla movie here right
- 52:52now, right, it just is gonna be this marshmallow man. But they
- 52:57took it really seriously, and because there there'd be someone like taking a shower
- 53:05and dropping you know, like the shampoo or something as they saw him walk
- 53:08by. Or Yeah, I just like, I just feel like there'd be
- 53:10a bunch of stuff. There'd be so many gags in there now, and
- 53:14they don't do any of that. They're just like, no, this is
- 53:15super scary and everyone is scared. Yeah, and he like legit when he
- 53:22starts like climbing up the building looks scary and he's on fire and he's it's
- 53:25terrifying. And have you have you guys ever seen the behind the scenes of
- 53:30that where they built out the full model city. Yeah, it's so cool.
- 53:35Like it's like a person in a costume walking through like a model city.
- 53:39Cool. It's really me It looks so great, I mean, but
- 53:43yeah, yeah, amazing. Yeah, that's for sure up there, bigs,
- 53:49did you have one? Buddy? Those were the two that I like,
- 53:52were really had up there. And I'm with you, guys, if
- 53:53we take the whole slimer thing and everything, I'm in on that one hundred
- 53:57percent. I also just love the the who you Gonna call them montage where
- 54:01they're just kicking butt and like, right, basically, yeah, that's true,
- 54:07it really does right add that on. Yeah, it's just so fun.
- 54:10I love a montage scene anyway, right, but like the scene is
- 54:15yeah, exactly exactly, and then just it's fun to see them succeed and
- 54:21whatever and then they get all tired and I don't know, I just love
- 54:24that whole scene. I think it's super super fun. And I loved the
- 54:29first scene where they're like all the all the practical effects that they're doing with
- 54:34pulling the books and stuff like that with the librarian. I think it's super
- 54:37fun and it it really sets the tone because it's it is scary and creepy,
- 54:42but they're also so funny, you know that. It's just like a
- 54:45great time. So they do such a good job of introducing us to the
- 54:49three of them, yes, in the first like fifteen ten minutes, Yeah,
- 54:54without doing any exposition. Really. I mean you obviously meet van Veankman
- 55:02right off the bat being being him with the girl in the gap, Yeah,
- 55:10being a huge nerd and just blah blah blah. And immediately we get
- 55:15into the library and Egon is just super Vankman's messing with them. I just
- 55:20feel like you get their relationship instantly, and then the way they deal with
- 55:25the ghost in the library, you get to see all of their stop that
- 55:31yeah, yeah, get her. I also have one more honorable mention,
- 55:42and this is just because me as a kid, I love so much,
- 55:45is just after they go to jail. It's basically the same as the first
- 55:52reveal of them, but after they go to jail and then they go to
- 55:55the Mayor's office, and the Mayor's like, what do you need? And
- 56:00then we just bust into I love them arriving at her building and they're just
- 56:06everyone's just jacked up. They got the full police, you know, National
- 56:13Guard escort, and they roll out and it's just awesome. And then it
- 56:17rolls into this sweet action scene and they go from actually filming on Central Park
- 56:22West to obviously a stage and do the whole crazy earthquake thing, and then
- 56:30that happens, and then they get up and everyone cheers again, and then
- 56:34they're back in and then they immediately cut to them just tired up the stairs.
- 56:42Let me know, when we get to twenty, I'm gonna throw up.
- 56:44But honestly, rewatching rewatching that scene from a filmmaking standpoint, it looks
- 56:49amazing like they really are on Central Park West, because that building is a
- 56:52real building. Yeah, and then they clearly built that block and then did
- 56:58that whole Universal Studios type earthquake right bit. And then there's a shot where
- 57:05I think they have some of the street coming up, but they're back in
- 57:07actual New York. It's just an animpressive movie thing where they're back and forth
- 57:15between a sound stage and the actual street. And it looks awesome. It
- 57:21does it still looks awesome forty years later, which is wildly impressive. No,
- 57:28for sure. My runner up scene was Vankman having his date with Zuell.
- 57:35Oh so funny. He goes to her apartment. She's all dressed up
- 57:38with their like seductive makeup on, but every single thing that comes out of
- 57:44Bill Murray's mouth is so so funny. Yeah, It's like, I don't
- 57:49understand how she was able to not break because it was so different for you,
- 57:55especially then when she's trying to be like next Level series were in a
- 58:01super sci fi I just found that so impressive on this last three watchers,
- 58:08Like, wow, yeah, I love that's again. I really want to
- 58:13see that shooting script because yeah, I'm like, did they write one line
- 58:16for him? Probably not. I mean it was good, It's crazy,
- 58:23it was really good. But yeah, I'm all about this shooting up and
- 58:29the Slimmer sequence. Hell yeah, man, that's our think about that that
- 58:36spawned. I mean that that alone spawned the cartoon and the whole big time
- 58:42Slimer was a huge part of that all huge. Everybody loves Slimmer for sure.
- 58:49I mean yeah, and honestly, I thought Slimmer was a bigger role,
- 58:52right because of how big he got after that totally. Yeah, yeah,
- 59:00well I think he's the only he's the only ghost in the movie that
- 59:02when you think about it from that perspective, it's like kind of fun,
- 59:08fun could be fun, and everything else is kind of like an actual creepy
- 59:15thing, which I love. But you know, Slimmer's green and kind of
- 59:22cute. M hmm. Yeah. Yeah, Well we've already said some fun
- 59:27quotes, but I think it's time to show me the mody show. They
- 59:34show me whyn't you get a started with some quotes. But you guys,
- 59:43it's just it's funny that I said. There's not really like laugh out loud
- 59:46lines written in the film. But then I'm looking at quotes. I'm like,
- 59:51they're pretty funny. Oh for sure, Yeah, so good. But
- 59:55again they're so uh, they're so kill are so subtle. Like like the
- 1:00:02first the first scene when the dude gets pissed that veankman's shocking him. He's
- 1:00:07like, well, I'm getting a little tired of this. But you volunteered,
- 1:00:12didn't you. We're paying you, aren't we. I'm like, well,
- 1:00:15he volunteered and you're paying him. Those are different things, or then
- 1:00:21that love. I love that he got that last one and still he's still
- 1:00:27he still just messes with him for no no, just for no reason.
- 1:00:34Couldn't even give him one. He's just like I get rid of this book,
- 1:00:37dude. Yeah. Or in the right away in the library, reg's
- 1:00:43uh, listen you smell something. Yeah, that's good, so good.
- 1:00:49I laughed really hard at that. Or bankman questioning the are you many menstruating
- 1:00:55right now? Yes? What has that got to do with it? What
- 1:01:00has that got to do with it? Back off? Man, I'm a
- 1:01:02Scientist's I mean? Uh, dickless. Oh that scene is great? Is
- 1:01:13this truth? Yes, your honor, this man has no dick in that
- 1:01:17line that killed me. That was one of those like h like the planes,
- 1:01:22trains and automobiles, dots in fing corvette. Yes, I didn't know
- 1:01:28about until I was older because we had we had this on tape from TV.
- 1:01:32Oh sure, so like I never never knew they said, dicklas that's
- 1:01:37funny. Yeah. I love After that, you just kind of hear in
- 1:01:42the background, like Bill Murray isn't there, and you just hear, well,
- 1:01:45that's what I heard. Yeah, yes, exactly, dude. There's
- 1:01:54something I mean, Bill Murray off screen, like nine times this movie,
- 1:01:59you hear some same thing. I mean, one thing we've yelled forever is
- 1:02:06go get her Ray. Yeah, go get her Ray. Such a good
- 1:02:10callback. I love. I love when I love the party at Louis Lewis's
- 1:02:19place. Rick Moranis he's like, he's like, I'm giving this whole thing
- 1:02:23as a promotional expense. That's why I invited clients instead of friends. You
- 1:02:28having a good time, mark and then just just fully outing people's full tax
- 1:02:34info and Fette Fleming's mortgage situation. All right, good you guys, go
- 1:02:49ahead. There's so many we came, we saw, we kicked it.
- 1:02:54Yes, I love that one great dist ever, m oh. I just
- 1:03:00love when they're saying, when they're listing off all the horrible things that are
- 1:03:06happening in bankment's like human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together, mass hysteria.
- 1:03:12All right, all right, I get the point. So good.
- 1:03:15I love that. That's so good. When he's at Dana's house and she's
- 1:03:22Zuel, She's like, there is no Dana, only Zuel. It's like,
- 1:03:25what a lovely singing voice. You must have what about what about?
- 1:03:30Uh, well that's the bedroom. Nothing ever happened in there? Yeah?
- 1:03:35What a crime? What crime? Uh? And she's she says, I
- 1:03:42want you inside me. He says, go ahead, No, I can't.
- 1:03:46It sounds like you've got at least two or three people in there already.
- 1:03:54I loved that mug. You can say somebody one. Right after that
- 1:04:00is when he's like, I make it a rule never to get involved with
- 1:04:02possessed people. And then she kisses him and he's like, it's more of
- 1:04:05a guideline than a rule. I think it's so good. I love that.
- 1:04:12I think it's the first time he sees slimer. I'm pretty sure.
- 1:04:15Yeah, it's gotta be, because he's like, come in, Ray,
- 1:04:18He's right here, Ray, He's looking at me Ray. And then Ray's
- 1:04:23like he's an ugly little sput, isn't he? And he's like, I
- 1:04:26think he can hear you, Ray. I just love that whole sequence.
- 1:04:30It's so funny. Uh, twenty four hours a day, seven days a
- 1:04:34week, no job too big, no fee too big as they're talking on
- 1:04:39the TV. So funny. Oh she's not my girlfriend. I find her
- 1:04:46interesting because she's a client and she sleeps above her covers, four feet above
- 1:04:51her covers. Yeah, that's it. Rools. Yes. Yes. Also,
- 1:05:01Ray, when someone asked you if you're a god, you say yes.
- 1:05:05That is that's got to be up there for one of the that's on
- 1:05:09from this movie. That is the craziest, weirdest line. But it's so
- 1:05:14funny for some reason, coming from yeah you say yes. I don't even
- 1:05:21I don't really know what that means, but it's it's hilarious. Uh oh
- 1:05:27when they're leaving the Mayor's office and he's like, I'm going to get you
- 1:05:30a nice fruit basket. Oh, I'm gonna miss him. I'm going to
- 1:05:33miss him. It's his delivery man. It's so good. I'm gonna miss
- 1:05:40him. And even if we are right you, Lenny will be responsible for
- 1:05:46saving the lives of millions of registered voters. Yes. I love the cut
- 1:05:53to the bishop at that point and he's like, ye, right, he's
- 1:05:57right. Funny. And then the last one that I had I think was
- 1:06:02the uh it's uh, what's her name? The secretary? Why can't think
- 1:06:06of her name right now? When Janine is out there with with the nerdy
- 1:06:13guy Remis and she's just like you're so kind to take care of that man.
- 1:06:17You know, you're a real humanitarian. And he's like, I don't
- 1:06:20think he's human. That just cracked me up. It's like, okay,
- 1:06:26guy, actually just take the hand that made me think of one. And
- 1:06:30it's something that I actually use for comedy and other people do too. But
- 1:06:35when when Bill Murray's like type something, well, you were paying for this
- 1:06:42stuff, yeh, don't he goes, don't steer at me. You got
- 1:06:45the bug eyes, Janine. Sorry about the bug eyes thing. I'll be
- 1:06:49in my office. It's still one of my favorite jokes to be like,
- 1:06:55oh god, Robbie, look at your big fat head. Hey Robbie,
- 1:07:00you remember back when I said you had a big fat head. I didn't
- 1:07:05mean that. I'm sorry about that. I'm sorry about that. I just
- 1:07:09love the immediate apology. Yes, the instant like contritions. Okay, yeah,
- 1:07:15I love that. I've had time to think about it and I'm sorry.
- 1:07:19Another thing that I loved was after when they're in the ballroom, he's
- 1:07:24like, wait, wait, I've always wanted to do this, and then
- 1:07:27he pulls the the tablecloth and you just hear again off camera and flowers are
- 1:07:34still standing. And you know the amazing part about that, you know,
- 1:07:39damn well that was Bill Murray just being like, I have actually always wanted
- 1:07:43to do this, Yeah, for sure going to do it. I've always
- 1:07:45wanted to try to yank the tablecloth. I love that. And when she's
- 1:07:50saying when she brings him to his apartment to check out the refrigerator, she
- 1:07:55says this voice said zuel, and then I slammed the refrigerator door and I
- 1:07:58left. That was two days ago and I haven't been back to my apartment.
- 1:08:00It's like, generally you don't see that kind of behavior in a major
- 1:08:03appliance. So also, oh my god, look at all the junk food.
- 1:08:15Actually eat this. Yeah, that's good. That was all I wrote
- 1:08:23down. Well, I have one more, but it could lead into one
- 1:08:25more quick discussion. What's our next topic. Moments before we do that,
- 1:08:32I would like to just have a two second conversation about the score of this
- 1:08:38movie. Okay, but I love I love the line and I was love
- 1:08:44when this happens in the movie, when Bill Murray goes ray, call it
- 1:08:49change, call it fate, call it karma. You know this is a
- 1:08:55word, and I just he like clearly just improvised that on set, but
- 1:09:00score matches is a key that he's doing his little improvin interesting and I think
- 1:09:06it's brilliant because you'll notice he goes call it, call it karma, and
- 1:09:13underneath them they hit the same chord that he's doing. But fun, that
- 1:09:17had to have happened after the fact because when they score the movie. I
- 1:09:23think the score of this movie is really great. I like, yeah,
- 1:09:27I like it because it's creepy and it's really appropriate. But but it's weird
- 1:09:31compared to other scores like Back to the Future, because the main theme was
- 1:09:36like a pop song. Yeah, yeah, like an R and B pop
- 1:09:42song kind of yeah, it's fun, which is so weird to me to
- 1:09:45think of someone being like, you're gonna score the movie and it does have
- 1:09:49a theme, like the movie has a scored theme, but like the main
- 1:09:54popular song is like obviously the Ghostbusters song. Yeah yeah, I think they
- 1:10:01did a really good Like you said, the like moody bits are my favorite
- 1:10:04bits. I think of the score itself, like they do a really great
- 1:10:10job with that. I don't know, that's really awesome. When in the
- 1:10:12library, it's like, yeah, but it's always a different instrument doing it.
- 1:10:18It's really it's pretty amazing. That's cool. Creepy and creepy. Isn't
- 1:10:25it weird that Huey Lewis was supposed to do this movie and he also did
- 1:10:30Back to the Future. That's weird. Oh, he was supposed to write
- 1:10:33there like theme song. No, they they they had, like, I
- 1:10:38guess, cut the movie to Huey Lewis's I Want a New Drug. That
- 1:10:45was gonna be yeah really and so then so this was trivia, I guess.
- 1:10:49But yes, the Ghostbuster song come like way last minute, way last
- 1:10:56minute, And that's why because then Huey Lewis and the News ended up putting
- 1:11:00it in a different movie that did not do anywhere near as well, and
- 1:11:04they said they couldn't use it, and so they had to pivot like they'd
- 1:11:10already edited the movie and they had to pivot to go to Ray Parker Junior
- 1:11:16and he had to do it fast, so it had to be the exact
- 1:11:21same tempo. That's right, because there's that show Netflix the movies that made
- 1:11:28us. Yeah, I think they talk about this like it was like overnight,
- 1:11:31kind of like it was real real quick to while for sure, but
- 1:11:38yeah, so you had to do the same and almost like the same hits
- 1:11:41and stuff, so it had to be Yeah, it's just so nuts they
- 1:11:45were able to get that done, and that the Ghostbusters theme song is so
- 1:11:50much bigger than Lewis Drug, like so much bigger. Oh my god,
- 1:11:56are you kidding me? Yeah? You know what that happened to then,
- 1:12:00like just because they well, the big one is, you know, You're
- 1:12:08the Best from Karate Kid was supposed to be Rocky three and then they pimoted
- 1:12:14to Ia the Tiger, and then You're the Best was going to be in
- 1:12:19something else, but what was it? They took something else famous and then
- 1:12:23it ended up in rock in Karate Kid like things like that happened all the
- 1:12:29time just because that's cool. Anyway, Let's go move on to Niggs moving
- 1:12:35home as La, where strong men also cry strong also the Crying Game.
- 1:12:46I don't think he cried. I don't think he cried in this movie.
- 1:12:49I think he's got I think he's got one or two. Okay, what
- 1:12:53do you think? I think? I guess we could just call it one.
- 1:13:00And I think when they break Dana and Rick moranis out of the things
- 1:13:04and save them, you had just a tiny bit of a tear it was.
- 1:13:10That was the closest I got. But it was none. Okay,
- 1:13:13it was none. This is a rare one, a rare zero. I'm
- 1:13:18all about it. It's impressive. I'm winning. I'm a heart of Stone.
- 1:13:24Have a heart of Stone. Movie trivia When Lewis mingles with his party
- 1:13:30guest commenting on the price of salmon and all that good stuff. That entire
- 1:13:33scene is one continuous shot and it's almost entirely improvised apparently, which is really
- 1:13:40fun so funny. I mean again, I think he literally came up with
- 1:13:44that whole character himself. He did a great job, because I believe let's
- 1:13:53see oh. In the middle of the film's initial release, to keep interest
- 1:13:57going, Ivan Rightman ran a trailer that was basically the commercial that the Ghostbusters
- 1:14:01used in the movie, but the five five to five number was replaced with
- 1:14:05an actual one eight hundred number allowing people to call in, and callers got
- 1:14:10a recorded message from Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd saying something like, hey,
- 1:14:15we can't into the phone. We're catching ghosts right now, And apparently they
- 1:14:17got one thousand calls per hour twenty four hours a day for several weeks.
- 1:14:24Wow, which is insane. That's amazing. Yeah, that was crazy.
- 1:14:31Yeah, it looks like Ray Parker Junior only had two days to create the
- 1:14:35song, and at four thirty am, after he had struggled, he saw
- 1:14:41a commercial for a drain company that reminded him of a scene from the film,
- 1:14:45and that commercial helped him coin the popular who are you Gonna Call?
- 1:14:49Who Are you Gonna Call? Which was like the big part, So that's
- 1:14:53pretty cool. I also saw that he was not into the name Ghostbusters,
- 1:14:57and so he did the whole thing, uh, and was like somebody else
- 1:15:01scream out Ghostbusters. So he had like he had like it was like his
- 1:15:05girlfriend or his daughter or something. Had all her friends come in and be
- 1:15:10like, oh yeah, well it worked. Uh. The Sigourney Weaver floating
- 1:15:17is an actual physical effect apparently, which is cool. She was put on
- 1:15:20a full body cast and attached to a post hidden in the curtains. And
- 1:15:27yeah, apparently this came from Ivan Wrightman's Broadway experience. That's why I wanted
- 1:15:31to bring that one up earlier, because that looks incredible. Yeah, it
- 1:15:34looks really good. Yeah. Well, yeah, it's an actual physical effect,
- 1:15:38which is I mean it had to be then there's no other way to
- 1:15:41do that. And she does a full turn and he goes under her.
- 1:15:45It's like a magic trick. Yeah, yeah, for sure, which is
- 1:15:48super cool. On the set, dan Ackroyd referred to the Slimer Ghost as
- 1:15:56the ghost of John Belushi, and his gluttonous eating was based done Belushi's cafeteria
- 1:16:00scene in National Lampoon's Animal House. So that was pretty cool. Well,
- 1:16:06and maybe am I I thought this? I thought they had like started writing
- 1:16:12this for the Belushi they did before he did, so, yeah, and
- 1:16:17then he actually die it must I thought he or eighty one or something.
- 1:16:24Okay, okay, so not long after Animal and then and then, like
- 1:16:29you had said earlier, I think Eddie Murphy they had wanted to going to
- 1:16:34be gotcha. Might they might even wanted him to be bank man maybe,
- 1:16:40but yeah, possibly because he had just become like a huge star. But
- 1:16:45right, anyway, let's see. Oh. In twenty ten, William Atherton
- 1:16:53recalled to The A. B Club that the shaving cream that was used for
- 1:16:57the melted marshmallow was still pretty heavy. We had the eighth grade. Oh
- 1:17:01this is his quote. We had the eighth grade science test. I went
- 1:17:04under the bag and I asked how much shaving cream is in there? And
- 1:17:09they said, oh, not that much. So I said how much is
- 1:17:11it weigh? And they said it's about seventy five pounds, But it's shaving
- 1:17:15cream, and you know the whole thing about seventy five pounds of feathers and
- 1:17:17seventy five pounds of lead, it's the same thing. So we figure out
- 1:17:21what's going to happen with this, and so the answer was they put a
- 1:17:26stunt guy underneath it to show the sissy actor that it was okay apparently,
- 1:17:30and they unleashed it and it flattened the stunt guy. So they took half
- 1:17:35the cream out, half the shaving cream out, and he then happily did
- 1:17:41what he had to do with out of the front. I mean, seventy
- 1:17:45five pounds is a lot to fall on you. Well, even the shot
- 1:17:47they have it, it looks like a ton of time. I know,
- 1:17:51I totally agree. Crazy. When I saw that shot, I was like,
- 1:17:55oh man, that's intense, but that was pretty well, oh yeah.
- 1:18:01And then the last one that I had was just the uh, the
- 1:18:04catalog drawers and the books flying and all that was actually a practical effect as
- 1:18:10well, which is pretty cool. It's unbelievable. And again that's why like
- 1:18:14every almost you know, everything except you know, the obvious are practical effects.
- 1:18:18That's why it's so great, like right, well, same with like
- 1:18:21Jurassic Park, right, that's why they look so good Still Park. You
- 1:18:26know that was the first time they actually did yeah, cgi as we know
- 1:18:30it, but another great but it still looks awesome movies that made us so
- 1:18:35good to watch, yes, right, you know, because they wanted to
- 1:18:40do claymation or whatever. Yeah, but yeah, that would have looked weird,
- 1:18:46so good. Uh, that was all the ones I wrote down.
- 1:18:50There was a lot, but there was a lot want to go too crazy?
- 1:18:54So yeah. The reason Eddie Murphy turned it down was because he got
- 1:18:57the role in Beverly Hills Cop right, which makes sense. It totally makes
- 1:19:01sense. This was the highest grossing comedy of all time until Home Alone a
- 1:19:08few years after. We're gonna say, Benny, uh oh, well,
- 1:19:14and I know Eddie Murphy got paid like a bunch of money for Beverly Hills
- 1:19:17Cop too. Yeah you gotta do that, which is the loan lead.
- 1:19:21But well, which Also, I will say like this movie, like a
- 1:19:26lot of adies movies, such a great example of I think that movie was
- 1:19:31originally for stallone and he wanted to do a bunch of stuff and blah blah
- 1:19:35blah and ended up with Eddie Murphy, and like, that movie's not funny.
- 1:19:40It's just funny because Annie Murphy's funny, you know. And they were
- 1:19:43just like, look, we're just gonna make a cool cop movie and you
- 1:19:46can just be funny. Yeah, and we don't need to try to do
- 1:19:49anything silly. Yeahah, And I would appreciate that's so good too. Yeah,
- 1:19:58we're gonna have a fourth one. Well, just watched all three of
- 1:20:01those again recently. Nice, so good. As far as other actors that
- 1:20:05were up, I saw that Michael Keaton turned down Venkman and Spangler. Wow
- 1:20:13wow, who knows if that's true. Ramis didn't just want to do it.
- 1:20:16I actually did see that Ramis was not originally going to do it,
- 1:20:21and then he felt that he was after like seeing people, and he thought
- 1:20:29that he was probably the best suited for it, which is interesting. He's
- 1:20:33so perfect for it because he doesn't try to do anything. He just committed
- 1:20:36to being a big Nerd. Yeah, he's supporting with it. It's just
- 1:20:44perfect. Yeah, Keaton would have been real funny. I think he would
- 1:20:46have tried to be hilarious, you know. I'm like, Keaton's more Venkman
- 1:20:50to me, I think, yeah, totally. And he turned down Vankman.
- 1:20:55It sounds like too for Egon. I did see Walking Lithgow, Christopher
- 1:21:01Lloyd, and Jeff Goldbloom were considered, but it does look like chevy Chase
- 1:21:08turned down the role of Lankman as well. He claimed that the script used
- 1:21:13in the movie wasn't the original script. In the original script script was very
- 1:21:15dark and scary, and it looks like Gutenberg turned it down as well.
- 1:21:24This is a before Bill Murray. I mean, I guess that's wild.
- 1:21:31I don't know. I mean I think Bill Murray was like, yeah,
- 1:21:35you know, he was just he was being Bill Murray, you know,
- 1:21:40and well, no, like you just wouldn't commit to anything. You never
- 1:21:43committed any until like the week before, and You're like, I'm pretty sure
- 1:21:47Bill is going to be here, but I'm not a hundred percent either.
- 1:21:50This is after Caddyshack, right for sure? Yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:21:56yeah. He had done Stripes before this. Too and meatballs and oh right,
- 1:22:00so him and Ramis said like obviously, yeah, mm hmm. But
- 1:22:06it's just it's just so interesting because it's so great. Their dynamic is so
- 1:22:12great, because it just feels like if you had too many personalities in there,
- 1:22:17it would just well, it would be like what we try to do
- 1:22:21now, yeah, right, everybody stepping on each other. And I just
- 1:22:27you know, I don't know, you know what I mean. I just
- 1:22:29think it's so nice that and Bill Murray is such a subtle improviser, Like
- 1:22:34we've already talked about that. I just think it's good. Yeah, if
- 1:22:41you if you had all three of them, people like that who just want
- 1:22:45to go in there and make big choices, I think it just gets a
- 1:22:48little muddy. And yeah, I don't know, you kind of lose for
- 1:22:54sure the story. Yeah, and and and I would like to say that
- 1:22:58like the script they wrote impressive, Like I don't like the mythology they come
- 1:23:04up with of of like the uh, well the yeah, the Shandor guy
- 1:23:13who designs the building with all this metal in it, that's a conductor.
- 1:23:15And then it's like a cult to gozer followers and all this, And I'm
- 1:23:19like I don't know if they base that on real stuff or if they just
- 1:23:23came up with that, but like that's impressive, Like that's good writing.
- 1:23:28Yeah, they really came up just the the like amping up of more ghosts
- 1:23:32being there, So that makes sense why they get Yeah, I don't know,
- 1:23:35I loved all that. Yeah, it's not just they didn't just do
- 1:23:38ran Like they really came up with a historical backs reason. Yeah, why
- 1:23:43why is this happening? It's not just random ghosts all of a sudden,
- 1:23:46So yeah, sure, I don't know. Yeah, it did sound like
- 1:23:50there were a lot of rewrites, Like originally it was a lot darker,
- 1:23:55and it was sure like Akroyd wanted to come out the gate with like the
- 1:24:00Ghostbusters car going through and them going to the first thing, and rightman felt
- 1:24:10like like no, we needed a kind of an origin story or like you
- 1:24:15know, suiting up, like we needed that. And so yeah, they
- 1:24:18actually got Ramis involved with the script. He did a lot of the the
- 1:24:23rewriting of that, and I think I think that's smart to split the difference.
- 1:24:27But and I already talked about it earlier, but imagine if that was
- 1:24:30the approach for the the reboot with Christian wigg and them. Right, let's
- 1:24:36really try and write a cool, creepy action movie here and then we'll worry
- 1:24:45about the comedy. I feel like that could have been so successful. And
- 1:24:50even the new ones after Life and this next one, I'm like, Frozen
- 1:24:58Empire is a new on you, even though I'm like, I don't know,
- 1:25:00I don't need the little dancing staypuff Men. It's fun and stuff,
- 1:25:04but I'm just like, I don't need it. Just make me a cool
- 1:25:09movie and let funny actors be funny. Yeah, that's what I want.
- 1:25:13That's why I love Ghostbusters because it feels like they're not trying to be funny.
- 1:25:18It feels like they're trying to make a cool movie. Sure, they
- 1:25:23just are funny. It just happens to be funny because I think good actors
- 1:25:29find ways to be funny or serious when it's necessary. Anyway, for sure,
- 1:25:35that that was all I had, though. Nice for trivia, there
- 1:25:40was a lot of trivia. Will there be a sequel? Judgment Day?
- 1:25:44So many We've talked about so many of them. A couple and beautis we'll
- 1:25:47see one this week. Yeah, So let's go. Are you going to
- 1:25:51play a game because I made a game for you guys. Yeah, because
- 1:25:57it's so much fun to see Benny just rock out that starting five. I
- 1:26:00did another starting five. I'm gonna name the five I like your face.
- 1:26:04I'll name my five favorite actors from a particular film. When you know the
- 1:26:08film, you ring in with your name. If you get it wrong,
- 1:26:10there won't be any negative points, but you won't be able to guess again
- 1:26:14for that movie. If they're actors' names remaining, you can guess those for
- 1:26:17a point each. The other person can steal if you get any of those
- 1:26:20wrong. All of these films have something in common. When you know the
- 1:26:25theme, you can ring it at any time for a point, and it
- 1:26:28might be related to Ghostbusters. Are we ready? Yes? Number one?
- 1:26:36First name Oliver read the second name Jaiman Huntu, Benny, Benny, Gladiator,
- 1:26:51Gladiators correct? Why is it Gladiator? Though? Gladiator? We got
- 1:26:58three names remaining, Benny nicely on Russell Crowe, Yes, Joaquin Phoenix.
- 1:27:04Yes, I'm never ever gonna remember her name. Also, don't three?
- 1:27:15Two? Is it the girl? It is? And her name is Connie?
- 1:27:21Connie Connie Nielsen. Yep? Did you say guess the theme without losing
- 1:27:28points. Yeah, yeah, you can guess the theme whenever you want.
- 1:27:32I mean, is it movies that start with G. It's a little more
- 1:27:36specific than that, movies that Okay, one word films. Let's start with
- 1:27:44G. Yeah, I'll give you guys both a half a point for them.
- 1:27:46Come on, come on, he had he led you there. I
- 1:27:50need it. You get a half a point, Benny. So all of
- 1:27:54these films will start with G. And it's only one word titles? How
- 1:27:59do we say dumont Jew's name? Were you right? Jamin Huntsu? Yeah,
- 1:28:05I think that's right. I think we've looked it up before. I
- 1:28:08think it's in my Yeah, but who knows. I just think of him
- 1:28:12as just yelling only Yeah. He's good at yelling. He's just good.
- 1:28:19Is good? All right? Let's number two. I'm sorry, Benny got
- 1:28:25three Benny Gladiator, Russell Crowe, Walking Phoenix and a half. So three

- 1:31:10it, Broco? Was that? Four more? Four more? Yeah,
- 1:31:15Peschi, Deniroleotis and good fellas. So where are we? After five?
- 1:31:18Are mathematically out of it? I'm not sure. Well, I guess not.
- 1:31:21If I ran the table, I could do this. Uh, he
- 1:31:25has seventeen and a half and I have a half. Seventeen and a half
- 1:31:29after five has to be a record. It has to be. I've been
- 1:31:32doing better at this game too, And I really have to know he's been
- 1:31:36he's been on fire. Well, he's not giving you a chance to be
- 1:31:42He would be sick in mind the worse when I know the theme. Sometimes
- 1:31:46Yeah, I don't know why, but I am so bad. I will
- 1:31:50say that those first five were for sure the easiest, and that's it's gonna
- 1:31:55get harder. Okay, cool right, So number six. The first name
- 1:32:00is Sarah Paulson. Her name is Sarah Paulson, Sarah. The second name

- 1:32:45Yeah, you need to know James Mann three point talk it out. I
- 1:32:49had to talk it out. Jus and I went and saw that to the
- 1:32:54theater together. We even did an episode on it. Yeah, it's a
- 1:32:58good movie. It was like at the very beginning of this pod, really
- 1:33:01right when we started, when that came out. Yeah, that's probably why,
- 1:33:04honestly. Yeah, but I loved Unbreakable so much. Yes, and
- 1:33:09I split scared me to death. Yeah, weird story. Way to go,

- 1:34:00well, and then there was another one just called Godzilla in twenty fourteen that
- 1:34:04I saw, but I couldn't tell you anybody from it, and it was
- 1:34:09a Taylor Johnson and it was actually pretty sweet. Yeah, that movie wasn't
- 1:34:15bad. It wasn't bad. The other one was bad. It just bummed
- 1:34:18me out that they really showed off Cranston like he was going to be two
- 1:34:25minutes. He died real quick, yeah, very quickly. Yeah. And
- 1:34:30then these next two are tough, the number eight. The first name is
- 1:34:33foul Duke Charma. Anybody got a second name is Amy Warren. The third
- 1:34:43name is Ed Harris, which I did not know. Great. The fourth
- 1:34:49name is George Clooney on. The fifth and final name is Sandra Bullock.
- 1:35:00All Right, four three two. Is there like a movie called Glitter or
- 1:35:08something Glitter there is? I didn't forgot about that movie. That was definitely
- 1:35:14not no, no, no, This was I think it won some Academy
- 1:35:17awards. This was gravity. Oh my god, Lord number nine, but
- 1:35:29yeah, number nine is after the first two names. You're never ever going

- 1:36:09actually neither. But Pacino and Walking I didn't know they were in it.
- 1:36:13That's crazy. And the nuts. Yeah, that's wild. And where are
- 1:36:17we going into number ten? They're bukes. Uh he's got seventeen and a
- 1:36:21half still, but I have five and a half. Okay, well,
- 1:36:25Benny is for sure our winner, but let's just do number ten. The
- 1:36:28first name is mini Driver Benny Benny good Will Hunt h No, no thing
- 1:36:41he is not. Yeah, it's wild, So Bukes, you got some
- 1:36:45Uh, you might be able to get this mini driver when I don't get

- 1:37:12GoldenEye. It's GoldenEye ye. Golden eye is one word, but they did
- 1:37:16capitalize the E. I wasn't sure if Goldfinger would be in there, too,
- 1:37:23but that, Yeah, I only really knew Sean Connery. Yeah,
- 1:37:26so I had that on there. I had Gremlins on there, Gandhi,
- 1:37:31but those are good, been tough. We didn't get Goes. Oh it's
- 1:37:40the goonies, isn't it? Or is it just goonies? It's the I
- 1:37:44figured, well, you know, like calthabetical, they don't really talk about
- 1:37:46the they don't. You're right, but I was going to stretch like you
- 1:37:50like it you did. There was also Gatica and Geo Storm, where my
- 1:37:59bonuses. Yeah, I would have sucked up both of those. What was
- 1:38:02your order for Gatika? Alan Arkin, Tony Shaloub, Jude Law, Wow,
- 1:38:10Ethan Hawk, Uma Thurman, Wow. I should see Getka. Apparently
- 1:38:15it's great a lot of people in it. It's crazy to our list to
- 1:38:18know that I I shut Benny out in the second half. Man, you
- 1:38:23really crushed me on the second half. I'm sorry. Oh yeah, he
- 1:38:26was seventeen and a half five, I think so right. Yeah, you're
- 1:38:30right, as if I had anything to do. That's fun. Man,
