- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: Hey guys, that's the almost famous podcast. We are together
- 0:09Speaker 2: and we are breaking down the Golden Bachelor women tell
- 0:13Speaker 2: All episode. But hey, Ben, yes, is there anything to
- 0:17Speaker 2: break down? And I'm not making fun of the show.
- 0:19Speaker 2: I'm just like, this was the most wasted money ever?
- 0:23Speaker 3: Is it wasted? A live shows more expensive? You thing?
- 0:26Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:26Speaker 2: Because they have to rent out that studio and then
- 0:29Speaker 2: they have to fly in all those ladies, pay for
- 0:33Speaker 2: the hotel for all those ladies. It's expensive. And there
- 0:36Speaker 2: was nothing nothing. I mean, it was air.
- 0:40Speaker 3: Yes, Okay, we're gonna get into that. Before we do,
- 0:44Speaker 3: we want to tell everybody Happy Halloween. If you cele
- 0:48Speaker 3: it is ween known as first Halloween. I am dressing
- 0:51Speaker 3: up for the first time, I bet in twenty five years.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Oh that's so you to have not dressed up for
- 0:56Speaker 2: twenty five years?
- 0:59Speaker 3: It is, and literally I haven't. I didn't dress that
- 1:01Speaker 3: much as it.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I had never not dressed up. Did you know that? No,
- 1:06Speaker 2: never not dressed up.
- 1:07Speaker 3: What's your most iconic look?
- 1:09Speaker 2: Well, the one that is iconic to me is like
- 1:12Speaker 2: my custom made jasmine costume. I had a custom made
- 1:15Speaker 2: one when I was little, and then when I was
- 1:17Speaker 2: twenty one, I got another custom one made, and man,
- 1:21Speaker 2: oh man, were they worn so many times. There were
- 1:25Speaker 2: so many years where it would be my fallback and
- 1:28Speaker 2: then it would be like great. In addition, because there
- 1:32Speaker 2: was also so many years in my twenties where it
- 1:33Speaker 2: was like such an Instagram thing that like I needed
- 1:36Speaker 2: to have multiple costumes for the plot of it, all right, Yeah,
- 1:43Speaker 2: so yeah, that has been so well worn. And it
- 1:46Speaker 2: was great when Dawson was going through his Aladdin stage
- 1:49Speaker 2: like two years ago phase, and then when Jared and
- 1:53Speaker 2: I got together and I finally got the have a
- 1:55Speaker 2: couple's costume for the first time in my life. So excited.
- 1:58Speaker 2: This is the only year where I guess since Dawson's
- 2:02Speaker 2: had like sort of an opinion, like I have had
- 2:05Speaker 2: less of a compulsion to dress up for myself.
- 2:08Speaker 3: Are you going to dress up? Though? Yeah?
- 2:11Speaker 2: But for the first time ever, like I don't have
- 2:16Speaker 2: like any connection to my costume, and that is because
- 2:19Speaker 2: I'm being a Power Ranger. I'm being a pink Power
- 2:23Speaker 2: Ranger because Jared has got Dawson into the Power Rangers.
- 2:27Speaker 2: I did it was not allowed to watch the Power
- 2:30Speaker 2: Engers when it was really popular when we were in kindergarten.
- 2:33Speaker 2: Is Len, Yes, and I have stuck stuck with that,
- 2:38Speaker 2: taken my mom's motto, and he does. He's not really
- 2:41Speaker 2: allowed to watch it either. He has seen like a
- 2:45Speaker 2: couple episodes on planes, like as like a special treat,
- 2:50Speaker 2: and then Jared has shown him the movie, which Jared
- 2:53Speaker 2: claims is far teamer and like less bizarre than the
- 2:57Speaker 2: show a couple times. But he's actually like never been like,
- 3:01Speaker 2: go watch Power Ranges, War watch Power Juice, which is
- 3:04Speaker 2: great because it's usually not allowed. But he just loves
- 3:10Speaker 2: like the martial arts of it, and he loves playing it,
- 3:14Speaker 2: and he loves his action figures. He loves his Power
- 3:17Speaker 2: Ranger action figures.
- 3:19Speaker 3: I grew up liking the Power Ranges a little bit. Yeah,
- 3:21Speaker 3: I never got that into him. There is a little weird.
- 3:23Speaker 3: I think it was a little creepy for me. Yeah weird.
- 3:27Speaker 3: I think he was a pink Power Ranger is a
- 3:29Speaker 3: great costume, by the way, I think it's gonna pink.
- 3:31Speaker 2: Yeah really, yeah. I just hope that we can make
- 3:34Speaker 2: some video where it's like really nostalgically, like it looks
- 3:37Speaker 2: like a VHS tape for the nineties. Yeah, and then
- 3:41Speaker 2: then it'll feed my creative juices. But everybody is going
- 3:44Speaker 2: to be one. Jared's gonna be the Green Ranger or
- 3:46Speaker 2: hate him being the Green Ranger, or one of them's blue,
- 3:49Speaker 2: one of them's green, and Dawson's the red one.
- 3:51Speaker 3: I feel like you're defeated.
- 3:53Speaker 2: I am. I am defeated because you know what this
- 3:55Speaker 2: is me this is this is the first time there's
- 3:59Speaker 2: like an activity where being a boy mom has been like, oh, well,
- 4:03Speaker 2: I have to be a Power Ranger for Halloween, whereas
- 4:05Speaker 2: like I'm always dressing up as princesses or like Taylor
- 4:07Speaker 2: Sway after something like that. Yeah, and it's okay. Somebody
- 4:11Speaker 2: said something to me on Instagram when I posted that
- 4:12Speaker 2: we're going to be Power Rangers, and they're like the
- 4:14Speaker 2: fact that like you are going along with like his
- 4:16Speaker 2: choice of costume is an example of how you are
- 4:22Speaker 2: a great mom to him, and I'm like, that's so sweet.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I'm going to remind myself of this on Halloween as
- 4:27Speaker 2: I'm dressed as a Power Enger.
- 4:28Speaker 3: It's a testament to you in your commitment to make
- 4:31Speaker 3: sure that your sons have a good time. I'm dressing
- 4:33Speaker 3: up for the first time as the.
- 4:35Speaker 2: Being twenty five years it's the best.
- 4:37Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 4:37Speaker 2: Oh, so you're gonna be like the little like the
- 4:39Speaker 2: adorable dad. There's this TikTok gone viral of a beast
- 4:43Speaker 2: walking down the road with his little bell and he's
- 4:46Speaker 2: gigantic and she's so tiny.
- 4:49Speaker 3: So who's just gonna be a bigger bell?
- 4:52Speaker 2: Oh so two bells? That's cute.
- 4:54Speaker 3: Two bells. She bought everything. I've even seen my costume have.
- 4:57Speaker 2: That's so cute. So are you gonna go take your
- 4:59Speaker 2: check treating because it's kind of a weird age.
- 5:02Speaker 3: Okay, We're gonna take her early to show our neighbors
- 5:05Speaker 3: because they just love seeing Winnie and so my parents
- 5:08Speaker 3: have come out. They're going to pass out candy at
- 5:11Speaker 3: our house. We're gonna take her around and say hi
- 5:13Speaker 3: to the neighbors. Obviously, Halloween falls on a Friday, so
- 5:17Speaker 3: it's a big party in our neighborhood. It's going to
- 5:18Speaker 3: be a blast. Have I ever told you before we
- 5:21Speaker 3: get into the breakdown what happens in my neighborhood.
- 5:24Speaker 2: I think you said that it's just like wild, wild
- 5:28Speaker 2: Halloween neighborhood, But.
- 5:29Speaker 3: This is no lie. The elk herd that lives like
- 5:33Speaker 3: amongst us, around us.
- 5:34Speaker 2: Oh, yes, I know all about this. How they just
- 5:36Speaker 2: walk down the street.
- 5:38Speaker 3: They walk down the street after everybody leaves and eats
- 5:41Speaker 3: the candy, and they'll like be walking past the kids,
- 5:45Speaker 3: like the hurdle on the street, eating pumpkins and candy
- 5:49Speaker 3: and the kids will still be chick or treating. It's crazy.
- 5:54Speaker 3: I've never seen anything like that.
- 5:56Speaker 2: Is so cool. I love that imagery. Can you please
- 6:00Speaker 2: record that?
- 6:01Speaker 3: Yeah? I will. I'm not very good at recording stuff,
- 6:03Speaker 3: but I will if you asked me to. I'll remember
- 6:06Speaker 3: to record that.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Please. That's such good visuals.
- 6:09Speaker 3: It's so fun, it's so great, it hilarious. We're excited
- 6:13Speaker 3: for it. It's gonna be a good year. I'm just excited.
- 6:16Speaker 3: I mean, Lenona just breaks my heart every time. And
- 6:19Speaker 3: if she's in a little princess costume, I don't know
- 6:22Speaker 3: what I'm gonna do, but I'm gonna be so proud
- 6:23Speaker 3: of her because she's beauty.
- 6:25Speaker 2: My gosh, oh my gosh, Ben, this is so cute.
- 6:27Speaker 2: I gotta talk about this forever. The fact that I
- 6:29Speaker 2: also just casually in our dress up box downstairs, have
- 6:32Speaker 2: a full blown beauty in the Beast sets like I
- 6:36Speaker 2: just have one. Of course, I do a full blown
- 6:38Speaker 2: beast costume in the basement. Jared and I once, stupidly,
- 6:42Speaker 2: I think this was last Halloween, went upstairs to wake
- 6:46Speaker 2: up Dawson from a nap dressed as Belle and the
- 6:49Speaker 2: Beast on Halloween, thinking that he would think it was cool,
- 6:54Speaker 2: and uh no, Petri died. Yeah, he's not scared of anything, though,
- 7:04Speaker 2: it's so weird. He goes to the Halloween stores, he's like,
- 7:08Speaker 2: all the scary animatronics, not phase at all, Hayden petrified. Yeah,
- 7:13Speaker 2: so yeah, he's he's never been scared of things like
- 7:16Speaker 2: that too. I don't know my sisters who are going
- 7:19Speaker 2: to my sister's house for Halloween, because she's like in
- 7:22Speaker 2: the Arlington paper every year for being like one of
- 7:25Speaker 2: the houses to go see because she has insane decorations outside.
- 7:31Speaker 2: She goes back and forth between scary dolls, clowns, and
- 7:35Speaker 2: then like a graveyard. And besides that, that's like all
- 7:38Speaker 2: the shed can handle. Like the shed is basically dedicated to,
- 7:44Speaker 2: you know, to Halloween decor and she has so many
- 7:50Speaker 2: Chucker traders. So I'm really excited.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I know you have a lot of men in your life,
- 7:55Speaker 3: but I want to remind you that I am frightened
- 7:58Speaker 3: of clowns, like I have a mass.
- 8:01Speaker 2: That's the theme this year. Good good, It's so it
- 8:06Speaker 2: is really scary. I'll send you videos.
- 8:09Speaker 3: There's nothing about class that makes sense to me. All right,
- 8:11Speaker 3: as we close up here, ashes any sense? What candy
- 8:14Speaker 3: is your favorite that your boys will get? Possibly trigger tree?
- 8:19Speaker 2: Okay, so, like my favorite candy in general is Cadberry chocolate.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I love Cadberry chocolate. I think it's more high scale
- 8:27Speaker 2: than any sort of good diver or don't anything on
- 8:29Speaker 2: that level. But Halloween candy. I do love a tutsi
- 8:36Speaker 2: roll and I'm always excited to see you know them
- 8:39Speaker 2: get Reese's Twigs, Snickers, Milky Way, Like, those are some classics.
- 8:45Speaker 3: You just named the whole bag of candy that I bought.
- 8:47Speaker 2: Like, no, no candy, I don't want the fake dies.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I mean I do like Twizzlers, uh, and I do
- 8:56Speaker 2: like Star Wars. So basically all the good ones. That's
- 9:01Speaker 2: my taste. What about you.
- 9:03Speaker 3: I'm a sour guy. Anything sour I will eat up
- 9:06Speaker 3: in a second. But I'm not a candy fan. But
- 9:08Speaker 3: I will eat a lot of sour candy.
- 9:09Speaker 2: You're not a candy fan. What do you mean by that?
- 9:12Speaker 3: I don't eat I don't like candy that much.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Wow, you know that like Jared and I both, I
- 9:17Speaker 2: cannot go to bed without having dessert. I really can't
- 9:20Speaker 2: finish a meal without having a piece of chocolate. I
- 9:22Speaker 2: have a mini dessert after every meal.
- 9:25Speaker 3: I don't eat dessert. Jessica thinks it's odd. I'm a
- 9:28Speaker 3: fruit fan of dessert, so like anything fruity. So if
- 9:31Speaker 3: they have like a blueberry crisp, I might get it
- 9:34Speaker 3: a peach cobbler. Could see myself eating it. But that's all.
- 9:37Speaker 3: That's as far as I go.
- 9:39Speaker 2: Wow, man, that's good for you. Like, I'm happy for
- 9:43Speaker 2: you about that. But like all my desserts have to
- 9:46Speaker 2: incorporate chocolate, even like pies like no thank you unless
- 9:50Speaker 2: it's chocolate cream pie.
- 9:52Speaker 3: No, it's not like I've made this conscious decision for
- 9:55Speaker 3: my health. I do about anything's bad for my health.
- 9:57Speaker 3: It's just I don't know. I've never love candy. It's
- 10:00Speaker 3: not a sugar guy. Never happened. I don't drink soda.
- 10:04Speaker 2: So wow, good for you. I just love a coke.
- 10:07Speaker 3: But I eat a ton of chips.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Are you salty guy? Then?
- 10:10Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 10:11Speaker 2: You know I eat My favorite food in the entire
- 10:13Speaker 2: world might just be chips and dip. Yeah, that's my
- 10:17Speaker 2: ultimate weakness.
- 10:19Speaker 3: I can I can pound a bag of cheddar and
- 10:21Speaker 3: sour cream ruffles in one day pretty easily.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Yeah. Oh see, I'm more of like a taco dip
- 10:28Speaker 2: or chips and salsa or chips, and I guess it's
- 10:31Speaker 2: like a tosquito, but a really hard crunchy one and
- 10:35Speaker 2: put it in queso. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I do want to share one more thing that's unrelated.
- 10:41Speaker 2: I'm going on our first Disney cruise next week. I've
- 10:44Speaker 2: been on nineteen cruises, eighteen Royal Caribbean, very loyal to
- 10:49Speaker 2: Royal than been on one Princess. I was in seventh grade.
- 10:52Speaker 2: And what did I say? In seventh grade? I cried
- 10:55Speaker 2: when I saw the dining room because it wasn't grand enough.
- 10:58Speaker 3: Okay, that fits.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Yep, checks out that I've been me for that long
- 11:05Speaker 2: and no offensive Princess cruise line. I'm sure I just am. Yeah. So,
- 11:14Speaker 2: then we were going on a Disney cruise for my
- 11:19Speaker 2: dad's It's kind of in celebration for my dad's seventieth birthday,
- 11:22Speaker 2: which happened two weeks ago. He hasn't been on vacation
- 11:25Speaker 2: since twenty eighteen, Like, he has not been like away
- 11:29Speaker 2: on vacation.
- 11:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he worked through COVID, I remember that.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean he takes vacation like he's off weeks
- 11:36Speaker 2: at a time, but he doesn't leave like the house. Yeah,
- 11:40Speaker 2: he likes to be at the house and then in
- 11:42Speaker 2: work at the house, you know what I mean, Like
- 11:45Speaker 2: he likes like work on the house when he's off.
- 11:48Speaker 2: So we're very excited and he actually really wanted to
- 11:52Speaker 2: try Disney.
- 11:53Speaker 3: I hope it's a blast seventieth birthday. What a deal
- 11:56Speaker 3: the guys. The guy's got forty years left, I would hope.
- 11:59Speaker 2: So, I mean his mother is one hundred and two.
- 12:01Speaker 2: So I am trying to not get excited that he
- 12:04Speaker 2: may have thirty two left.
- 12:06Speaker 3: Oh that's the sweetest thing. That's one of the sweet things. Said,
- 12:09Speaker 3: I had no doubt. Actually we are here to break
- 12:23Speaker 3: down this episode. It was to tell all again, as
- 12:27Speaker 3: I said last week, you and I both are going
- 12:30Speaker 3: to be very clear, transparent that a lot of this
- 12:34Speaker 3: has missed for us but we can't come in here
- 12:37Speaker 3: as negative nancies. People don't listen to us to be
- 12:39Speaker 3: negative nancies. They don't listen to us to just simply complain.
- 12:44Speaker 3: So we'll get that out of the way off the top.
- 12:46Speaker 3: I'm confused on why they did a tell all. First
- 12:48Speaker 3: of all, I don't know why they thought it would
- 12:50Speaker 3: fit this season. The cast members weren't that well known.
- 12:54Speaker 3: In fact, some of them getting announced and maybe this
- 12:57Speaker 3: is just me could be, but it's kind of my job,
- 13:00Speaker 3: and I feel like I tried pretty hard to get
- 13:02Speaker 3: to know the people on the show. There were people
- 13:04Speaker 3: getting announced that I had no recollection of, could not
- 13:08Speaker 3: remember their names, was looking them back up on ABC's
- 13:11Speaker 3: website when they were saying here is so and so,
- 13:14Speaker 3: and I'd say, yep, never seen her before, don't have
- 13:17Speaker 3: any idea in They're like, she made it to week four,
- 13:19Speaker 3: and I'm like, still never saw her before. The tell
- 13:21Speaker 3: all was an interesting choice for this season. I just
- 13:24Speaker 3: don't think it was necessary. I don't think it fit.
- 13:27Speaker 3: I don't think it resonated probably with the audience. And
- 13:30Speaker 3: that's why I asked you off the beginning, is it
- 13:31Speaker 3: really cheaper? Because it had to be a strategic move
- 13:34Speaker 3: to say, hey, let's fill an episode, let's get this
- 13:37Speaker 3: time slot going, but let's not spend money on the travel,
- 13:42Speaker 3: on the food, on the crew. But maybe maybe.
- 13:45Speaker 2: I'm wrong, you know, I would rather them use this
- 13:48Speaker 2: as like, honestly, do a freaking forty hour forty god no,
- 13:53Speaker 2: not forty hour forty minute episode of just bloopers or
- 13:57Speaker 2: the things we haven't seen before, like a behind the
- 13:59Speaker 2: scenes of the Golden Like that would be so much
- 14:02Speaker 2: more interesting if they needed a filler episode. They also,
- 14:11Speaker 2: I think that they could have dragged it out, like
- 14:13Speaker 2: there could have been some part of the season that
- 14:15Speaker 2: they didn't like crunch Down, Like there was a couple episodes.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I feel like that had two Row ceremonies in it.
- 14:21Speaker 2: We didn't need that. Spread it out so that we
- 14:24Speaker 2: could have had that in this slot.
- 14:26Speaker 3: Yeah, either way, Ashley, let's dive into it. The big
- 14:31Speaker 3: storyline coming into this tell all was going to be
- 14:33Speaker 3: Nicole and how the ladies handled the cole, what they
- 14:37Speaker 3: would say back to Nicole. I honestly felt like coming
- 14:40Speaker 3: out of it, it was tame towards Nicole in a
- 14:44Speaker 3: way I did not expect, and maybe I thought maybe
- 14:47Speaker 3: I was just like building myself up if they're going
- 14:49Speaker 3: to do a tell all. Unfortunately for Nicole, they're doing
- 14:52Speaker 3: a tell all because they think they have content grand
- 14:55Speaker 3: enough to show her getting talked to by the ladies
- 15:01Speaker 3: and mel It felt tame to me, good, bad, and different.
- 15:07Speaker 3: It just felt tamer than I expected. Do you agree?
- 15:10Speaker 2: I thought Debbie was kind of came at her. Debbie
- 15:14Speaker 2: was all like you, what was the word she used?
- 15:18Speaker 2: She said, you didn't empower us, you dismissed us. And
- 15:23Speaker 2: I thought that was pretty intense.
- 15:25Speaker 3: Yeah, okay, so you have that example, any other examples?
- 15:29Speaker 2: Oh no, that was the only moment of the episode,
- 15:31Speaker 2: Like that was the only moment of the episode that
- 15:34Speaker 2: got at all confrontational.
- 15:37Speaker 3: Yeah, so what I'm saying I thought it was tame.
- 15:39Speaker 3: I thought anything that you don't need to be bullying
- 15:41Speaker 3: and mean to somebody. But I thought it was a
- 15:44Speaker 3: great moment to have a conversation about. Hey, you called
- 15:47Speaker 3: the last cast not that attractive. You said you wanted
- 15:50Speaker 3: to be an influencer. These are core things that The
- 15:53Speaker 3: Golden was never supposed to be about. Nicole, Why would
- 15:58Speaker 3: you say those things? Like at least we could have
- 16:02Speaker 3: gotten into.
- 16:02Speaker 2: That they should have had Kathy and Susan speak from
- 16:05Speaker 2: the audience.
- 16:06Speaker 3: Yeah, or Joe the one on the show. And Joan
- 16:09Speaker 3: came on the show and was very honest about her
- 16:13Speaker 3: feelings towards the comments made. And Joan is a very
- 16:16Speaker 3: kind and very thoughtful person who doesn't speak out on
- 16:20Speaker 3: this stuff very often. I don't know ash I. So
- 16:23Speaker 3: we had that moment and then honestly we kind of
- 16:26Speaker 3: get into mel. I mean, the ladies in general were
- 16:30Speaker 3: just like happy they were there. They love mel Mell,
- 16:33Speaker 3: You're so great.
- 16:34Speaker 2: Well, there's one more thing about Nicole. I think it
- 16:36Speaker 2: was because she wasn't very not she was not very
- 16:39Speaker 2: confrontational back, she wasn't really trying to defend herself. She
- 16:43Speaker 2: at one point said I'll do better. She's like, I'm sorry.
- 16:46Speaker 2: Do I think it's genuine? Like not really, but like
- 16:50Speaker 2: I think she had a good pr move or like
- 16:52Speaker 2: a good publicist talk to her.
- 16:54Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I feel like that's something that somebody
- 16:56Speaker 3: says to just dismiss the argument. It's my same concern
- 17:01Speaker 3: with like people these days being like I'm going to
- 17:04Speaker 3: do me or of course, like I'm going to be
- 17:08Speaker 3: persecuted and hated on my fr ideas like it's like no, like,
- 17:13Speaker 3: listen to why you're hurting people and respond with maybe
- 17:19Speaker 3: your reasoning, and then talk about like why you said
- 17:22Speaker 3: the things you said. I would have appreciated this moment more.
- 17:24Speaker 3: If Nicole was like, you know what, guys, yeah, I
- 17:26Speaker 3: want to be an influencer and I didn't mean all
- 17:30Speaker 3: the mean things like that would be so much like
- 17:34Speaker 3: clearer to me, and I'd be like, hey, at least
- 17:36Speaker 3: she's honest. You've done that your whole life. Ash. That's
- 17:38Speaker 3: one of the reasons I love you is you you
- 17:41Speaker 3: don't You're not mean to people. I think that's one
- 17:43Speaker 3: thing you have going your way. You're very kind human,
- 17:45Speaker 3: but you've never hidden this idea that you're like, no,
- 17:48Speaker 3: I want to be on TV, like really bad, Like
- 17:50Speaker 3: I love it. I love being on TV. I think
- 17:52Speaker 3: it's the at least I like, I respect it, and
- 17:56Speaker 3: I appreciate it, and I support you in your pursuit
- 17:58Speaker 3: of that because at least you're honest about it.
- 18:01Speaker 2: I'm not desperate about it. The opportunity comes to me,
- 18:03Speaker 2: I'll say yes.
- 18:05Speaker 3: I never said you're desperate. I never said you're for
- 18:11Speaker 3: with age.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I could take it or leave it.
- 18:13Speaker 3: It's not true.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I'll probably take it.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I tell you that. It's gonna say you found yourself
- 18:22Speaker 3: in the desert of Australia for nothing.
- 18:26Speaker 2: Hey, that was a lot of that was nothing. That
- 18:29Speaker 2: was a lot of cash.
- 18:31Speaker 3: I just I appreciate the honesty. I did not feel
- 18:34Speaker 3: like I got that. I'm gonna do better if every time. Actually,
- 18:39Speaker 3: you and I joked with each other, and I was
- 18:40Speaker 3: just like, you're right, Actually I'll do better. It's like, well,
- 18:43Speaker 3: the conversation is done, Like what are you going to
- 18:45Speaker 3: say back? Like I don't believe you like you can.
- 18:47Speaker 2: It's hard to say anything back to that. So she
- 18:49Speaker 2: said the thing that gets people to back off.
- 18:52Speaker 3: I know. It just frustrated me. I want to see more.
- 18:55Speaker 3: I guess.
- 18:57Speaker 2: All right. Well then we have Cheryl joined Jesse on stage.
- 19:01Speaker 2: She gets emotional watching her tie back on the show.
- 19:04Speaker 2: She doesn't there's not much to talk about here. She
- 19:07Speaker 2: does have her son in the audience with her grandkids.
- 19:10Speaker 2: That was cute, but I was also like, how did
- 19:12Speaker 2: they hide this was there where they sit didn't have
- 19:14Speaker 2: a whole time, and then did they take them out
- 19:16Speaker 2: or would they take them out when she came on stage.
- 19:19Speaker 2: They look pretty well settled. Is it really that much
- 19:21Speaker 2: of a surprise to have your family in the audience?
- 19:24Speaker 3: No, I mean that's the thing, is like, it's not
- 19:27Speaker 3: that big of a surprise I had. I had buddies
- 19:30Speaker 3: in the audience when I was on the show, Like,
- 19:32Speaker 3: it's not my parents were, of course there. I would
- 19:34Speaker 3: have loved that my grandparents. Yeah, I mean I freaking out.
- 19:37Speaker 3: My parents' best friends who won you know, they're my
- 19:39Speaker 3: pastor and his wife. Like they're like, I don't think
- 19:43Speaker 3: it's that big a surprise, and it's something you want
- 19:45Speaker 3: to share with people. It's a fun moment for these women,
- 19:49Speaker 3: Like they're on live television and their families are getting
- 19:52Speaker 3: to watch them talk on live television and dress up
- 19:54Speaker 3: and like all beautiful and pretty. I think it's great
- 19:58Speaker 3: that your family's there. I just don't think it's that
- 19:59Speaker 3: big of surprise prize. It's not that like shock factor
- 20:03Speaker 3: surprise that we've seen in the past.
- 20:04Speaker 2: Yeah, she's like I was like, Okay, calm down. Yeah,
- 20:12Speaker 2: it's like hasn't been months in.
- 20:14Speaker 3: Years, Like are you like you I don't know, you
- 20:16Speaker 3: probably talked to him yesterday, Like.
- 20:18Speaker 2: What we're just finding something to complain about.
- 20:24Speaker 3: I know, well, because there isn't a lot here actually,
- 20:26Speaker 3: so let's just talk about it. Honestly, there isn't a
- 20:29Speaker 3: lot here to talk about. There's emotion watching a bag,
- 20:33Speaker 3: Cheryl gets emotional, Debbie gets emotional, people are wishing more
- 20:37Speaker 3: time with Mel. Mel comes out and the ladies just
- 20:41Speaker 3: pretty much say how much they liked him, how great
- 20:44Speaker 3: he was. There isn't any confrontation even after watching it back,
- 20:48Speaker 3: being like hey, Mel, like did you actually ever want anybody?
- 20:51Speaker 3: There was nothing that we've been asking And if you
- 20:53Speaker 3: have a live show, my hope is that the show
- 20:59Speaker 3: has listened to the view viewership enough to answer the
- 21:02Speaker 3: questions that the viewers are asking. And I think there's
- 21:07Speaker 3: very clear questions right now that the viewership is.
- 21:09Speaker 2: Asking, why did you pick him?
- 21:11Speaker 3: Why'd you pick him? Mel? Were you actually ever really
- 21:14Speaker 3: that into this? Nicole? Why did you say you wanted
- 21:18Speaker 3: to be an influencer? And why do you call the
- 21:21Speaker 3: last cast not that attractive?
- 21:23Speaker 2: They should have had Kathy and Susan host this chat.
- 21:27Speaker 3: It would have been great. They would have said some
- 21:29Speaker 3: weird stuff. I love them, They're great. They would have
- 21:31Speaker 3: pulled everything out of everybody. They'd been like, no, not enough,
- 21:34Speaker 3: and we didn't give you those vibrators for your Skyattica.
- 21:38Speaker 3: We gave you those vibrators for other reasons.
- 21:42Speaker 2: Also, if they have heard so many complaints about Mel,
- 21:46Speaker 2: they could have used some of this time, if not
- 21:48Speaker 2: the whole hour, Like I was saying, to show like
- 21:51Speaker 2: a whole bunch more in depth moments with him, at
- 21:55Speaker 2: least building up to some at least so that you
- 21:58Speaker 2: could build up his the feelings you have towards him
- 22:01Speaker 2: going into the finale, and also kind of defend their choice.
- 22:06Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 22:06Speaker 2: Now I'm just left thinking you didn't have any footage.
- 22:10Speaker 3: They didn't. I mean, that's the thought is like they
- 22:11Speaker 3: could have. They kind of threw Mel into the bus
- 22:14Speaker 3: during hometowns. You would think the live show could be
- 22:17Speaker 3: the opportunity to kind of like bring him from the ashes,
- 22:19Speaker 3: like rise him up and say, okay, no, this is
- 22:22Speaker 3: the guy that we didn't show. Here's some funny moments
- 22:25Speaker 3: with Mel. Here's some intimate moments with Mel. Here's some
- 22:28Speaker 3: moments that we caught Mel crying in the corner when
- 22:31Speaker 3: he didn't think cameras were around. We didn't see anything.
- 22:34Speaker 3: And then he gets on stage, and I think, you know,
- 22:40Speaker 3: it feels like okay, I mean Melby on stage, feels
- 22:45Speaker 3: like what the season has felt like so far. It's
- 22:48Speaker 3: saying the right things at the right moment. We're not
- 22:51Speaker 3: saying anything at all, and saying them quickly and concisely
- 22:55Speaker 3: and leaving a lot of room for interpretation. It doesn't
- 22:58Speaker 3: get me fired up for this finale. It doesn't. And
- 23:02Speaker 3: and so you know, you look at the way the
- 23:04Speaker 3: show set this up. It's it's obviously planned. These people
- 23:08Speaker 3: are professionals, and they have Jared Freed in the audience.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Well, I'm down for Jared Freed to be there. He
- 23:15Speaker 2: always makes me laugh. And I did really like that
- 23:17Speaker 2: clip that they showed with him where they were showing
- 23:20Speaker 2: all the one liners he was trying to give to Robin,
- 23:24Speaker 2: and Robin didn't laugh at any of them. And that
- 23:26Speaker 2: was like the most relatable moment because my mom wouldn't
- 23:30Speaker 2: understand Jared's Freed Jared Fried's humor either, because he has
- 23:34Speaker 2: the most millennial humor.
- 23:37Speaker 3: I think he's hilarious. But again, what does it bring like?
- 23:40Speaker 3: Did it? Did it make the show?
- 23:42Speaker 2: It makes me laugh for a second?
- 23:45Speaker 3: Okay, good, good, that's all we need. Yeah, I mean,
- 23:50Speaker 3: he's funny, he is, and he's good on the show.
- 23:53Speaker 3: He's good for the show. I just don't see like,
- 23:56Speaker 3: out of everything they could have done here, that was
- 23:58Speaker 3: like that was one of the big attempts. It just
- 24:02Speaker 3: felt like like it just feels like we're we're not
- 24:06Speaker 3: rising up. Here's my complaint. All these other shows are
- 24:11Speaker 3: going on right now and they're crushing it new creative ideas,
- 24:15Speaker 3: they're always rising to the occasion. The Bachelor has every
- 24:18Speaker 3: opportunity to raise the occasion and compete with these new
- 24:21Speaker 3: shows coming out, and it feels like, time after time
- 24:24Speaker 3: again they just fall a little short. And it frustrates
- 24:27Speaker 3: me because I believe in the show and I still
- 24:29Speaker 3: think the show could be good. It could be good.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I know the finale is actually two hours, So now
- 24:36Speaker 2: I'm again being like, Okay, why didn't you just air
- 24:39Speaker 2: our one of the finale, leave us on a good cliffhanger,
- 24:43Speaker 2: and then do another hour.
- 24:45Speaker 3: It'd be great. Yeah, I mean that that the finale
- 24:49Speaker 3: is two hours, it has to have some context that
- 24:52Speaker 3: we're not seeing, like it's gonna be dramatic, emotional, it's
- 24:56Speaker 3: gonna pull our heartstrings, maybe a little bit. I am
- 24:59Speaker 3: still holding up hope. Actually we have we have two
- 25:01Speaker 3: hours left, and I'm holding out hope. At the end
- 25:03Speaker 3: of the season helps us understand what we've been watching
- 25:08Speaker 3: the for the last you know, eight to nine weeks. Yeah,
- 25:12Speaker 3: do you agree?
- 25:13Speaker 2: Yeah, of course I agree, But like I'm kind of
- 25:15Speaker 2: hopeless at this point. To be honest, I'm just I'm
- 25:18Speaker 2: not going to think that this engagement is going to
- 25:20Speaker 2: last at all.
- 25:22Speaker 3: Who do you think he gets engaged to.
- 25:24Speaker 2: I think it's Cindy.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I think it's Cindy too.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I think so. And she'll be really happy. Yeah,
- 25:31Speaker 2: and I'm really happy for her, But I'm really sad
- 25:34Speaker 2: for when it's not necessarily going to work out. Maybe
- 25:39Speaker 2: we know more, Maybe we don't know.
- 25:41Speaker 3: Maybe we just don't know, We don't know enough. This
- 25:55Speaker 3: is our tell all episode. Usually we feel like these
- 25:59Speaker 3: are either so great or just miss the mark every
- 26:04Speaker 3: season that they do this, but this is a tall
- 26:07Speaker 3: episode of The Golden Bachelor. We got the previews for
- 26:12Speaker 3: Antigua next week. Antigua's beautiful. We see some sweet dates,
- 26:18Speaker 3: we see some sweet moments I don't exactly seet see
- 26:22Speaker 3: the iconic moment that will make us be put on
- 26:27Speaker 3: the edge of our seats and make this season memorable.
- 26:30Speaker 3: I don't see it yet. I hope it's there.
- 26:32Speaker 2: He's holding an engagement ring. I still in doubt that
- 26:36Speaker 2: he's going to propose. This just doesn't seem like a
- 26:39Speaker 2: man in love to me, and as we even saw
- 26:42Speaker 2: last week, he said, like he's not there yet. So
- 26:45Speaker 2: how do you go from being not being in love
- 26:47Speaker 2: to being like, I'm going to get down on me. Yeah,
- 26:51Speaker 2: you can't do that. You can't, you actually can't do that.
- 26:54Speaker 3: See your vote is he doesn't get engaged at all
- 26:56Speaker 3: at the end of this.
- 26:58Speaker 2: I think the smart choice would be not to get engaged.
- 27:00Speaker 2: I mean, I oftentimes say that this more Choyce would
- 27:03Speaker 2: to not be engaged, but like, right now, like I
- 27:07Speaker 2: actually don't even think he's like very much in lust
- 27:11Speaker 2: because sometimes I think that like a lot of the
- 27:12Speaker 2: leads are confused and they're like, oh, you know, bachelor
- 27:16Speaker 2: bubble lust love, But there's something that I'm feeling intensely.
- 27:21Speaker 2: I just like don't even think he's feeling intensely. So
- 27:23Speaker 2: I think it's best for him not to do this.
- 27:26Speaker 3: I'm with you. I think they should go out of
- 27:28Speaker 3: this and be a happy couple and try to make
- 27:30Speaker 3: this work in the real world for as long as
- 27:31Speaker 3: they can.
- 27:32Speaker 2: Yeah, and you know how my argument is as of
- 27:35Speaker 2: last season, like you have your kids, just date.
- 27:41Speaker 3: Just date, have a lot of fun, travel the world.
- 27:44Speaker 3: Do you think Pegs are next Golden Bachelorette?
- 27:47Speaker 2: She's cool, she's cool as a bachelorette. I think it
- 27:49Speaker 2: would need to be Debbie, especially after the season. This episode, Yeah,
- 27:53Speaker 2: this made me like this episode that that was a
- 27:56Speaker 2: moment where I felt where I was just like, I'm
- 27:59Speaker 2: really sad this lady's never been married, that's what she
- 28:01Speaker 2: still really wants. And her wearing the white wedding dress.
- 28:05Speaker 2: I was, I want a bachelorette who's never been married
- 28:10Speaker 2: in her sixties.
- 28:11Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that's beautiful. Let's hope for it. We're
- 28:15Speaker 3: voting for Debbie. This has been the almost famous podcast.
