- 0:20Speaker 1: and celebrate every win. And today we are celebrating the
- 0:25Speaker 1: wrapping up of the week Eagles joint practices. We thought
- 0:29Speaker 1: with Adam Kapp in the last couple of days live
- 0:31Speaker 1: from Foxborough, and today we have Andrew the Check who
- 0:35Speaker 1: is also at the joint practices, so we got a
- 0:38Speaker 1: lot to recap ahead of tomorrow's preseason game number two.
- 0:43Speaker 1: And Andrew is back with us here on the Sports
- 0:45Speaker 1: Bash all ninety seven three ESPN.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Andrew, welcome back in How you doing today?
- 0:51Speaker 3: I'm doing well, Josh, are you?
- 0:53Speaker 1: I'm doing good and I feel like we have so
- 0:55Speaker 1: much to get to so I want to start with this,
- 0:58Speaker 1: you know, for you going looking at those two with practices.
- 1:02Speaker 2: I gotta get your reaction to what Jordan may.
- 1:04Speaker 1: Allattas said yesterday because he talked about and we played
- 1:07Speaker 1: the audio how he said that. You know, Day one
- 1:10Speaker 1: was a pretty good day for them, but day two
- 1:12Speaker 1: they did a little too much boxing and nine enough football.
- 1:16Speaker 1: So for you, what were the big contrasts for you
- 1:19Speaker 1: between day one and day two.
- 1:23Speaker 3: Yeah, so on day one, I thought they got a
- 1:25Speaker 3: lot of really quality work in. That's not to say
- 1:26Speaker 3: that they didn't on day two as well, but Day
- 1:28Speaker 3: two was noticeably more chippy, and you could tell from
- 1:32Speaker 3: the beginning of practice, Josh that the energy and intensity
- 1:36Speaker 3: was ramped up. And I think the Eagles really brought
- 1:39Speaker 3: the juice that day particularly. I noticed it on the
- 1:42Speaker 3: defensive side. Ramandre Stevens and the Patriots running back gets downhill,
- 1:47Speaker 3: gives a little extra losers shoulder on Cooper dejen I
- 1:50Speaker 3: think Elijah vera Tucker the guard throws a little extra
- 1:53Speaker 3: shot in there, and no one Smith took exception to it.
- 1:56Speaker 3: Andre sam put a nice stick on Ormandre Stevens. Zach
- 2:00Speaker 3: Vond popped Traveon Henderson along the sideline. I was really
- 2:04Speaker 3: focused on the defense yesterday, but on the offensive side
- 2:07Speaker 3: there was a scuffle a couple of them as well.
- 2:09Speaker 3: So yeah, I could see where Jordan's coming from. And
- 2:12Speaker 3: sometimes when you're facing a team for the second day.
- 2:15Speaker 3: It was much hotter. The second day, at least it
- 2:17Speaker 3: felt more humid. It just felt like it was bound
- 2:20Speaker 3: to happen. But I thought the Eagles made a statement
- 2:22Speaker 3: from early in practice that they were there to bring it,
- 2:25Speaker 3: and I thought that they did a nice job.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Speaking of the defense, I want to get your perspective
- 2:30Speaker 1: on Vic Fangio made the comment earlier in the week
- 2:34Speaker 1: about Johoad Campbell about how you and I talked about
- 2:37Speaker 1: Campbell a little bit last week about this is a
- 2:39Speaker 1: guy who, because the Kobe Dean came back last year
- 2:44Speaker 1: the heat, you know, I'm paraphrasing a little bit, was
- 2:46Speaker 1: behind a little bit behind the eight ball in terms
- 2:48Speaker 1: of his development understanding the defense. Where do you think
- 2:52Speaker 1: John Campbell is at the end of this week heading
- 2:55Speaker 1: into the rest of this month.
- 2:58Speaker 3: Well, he was a first round pick lest year, so
- 3:01Speaker 3: he's going to be starting. But Vic Tanjo alluded to
- 3:04Speaker 3: a couple of mistakes that Jahad made in the game,
- 3:06Speaker 3: and I think that if all things were going well,
- 3:10Speaker 3: he wouldn't be playing in the preseason game. And Jeremiah
- 3:13Speaker 3: Trotter Junior, conversely, has had a nice training camp. Now
- 3:16Speaker 3: Jahad Campbell, let's be clear, is going to be the starter.
- 3:19Speaker 3: But I almost wonder if there's a world where Trotter
- 3:21Speaker 3: Junior can factor in situationally, and that's something that Adam
- 3:25Speaker 3: Kaplan and I were talking about. He posed that question
- 3:27Speaker 3: to me the other day. But I also am a
- 3:30Speaker 3: little curious at their reasoning there because Vic and Nick
- 3:33Speaker 3: Sirianni have both mentioned that he needs reps in every
- 3:35Speaker 3: situation's different. But Drew mccuba, his season ended in November,
- 3:41Speaker 3: he had the fractured ankle. Him and Jahad Campbell played
- 3:43Speaker 3: almost the same amount of snaps. They started both ten
- 3:46Speaker 3: games apiece, and Drew mccuba did not start in that game.
- 3:50Speaker 3: So it was a little curious to me, and I
- 3:51Speaker 3: think that they really want to see Jahad work through
- 3:54Speaker 3: some things. That was just my initial read on the
- 3:56Speaker 3: whole thing. There have been moments where you can see
- 3:58Speaker 3: the athleticism flash in practice. I think he's been really active,
- 4:02Speaker 3: But I'm also not in the meeting rooms, and I
- 4:04Speaker 3: don't know. I'm not privy to any of the mental
- 4:07Speaker 3: mistakes or miscues that could be taking place, and so
- 4:10Speaker 3: I think they're telling you with their actions that they
- 4:12Speaker 3: just want to see a little bit more from him,
- 4:14Speaker 3: and that's why he played last Saturday.
- 4:16Speaker 1: And when you talk about situationally, I don't want to
- 4:19Speaker 1: put words in your mouth, so just to give you
- 4:20Speaker 1: the opportunity to clarify.
- 4:21Speaker 2: So like, for example, when the.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Eagles play teams that maybe are more run based teams, like,
- 4:27Speaker 1: are you talking about maybe getting Campbell and Trotter on
- 4:30Speaker 1: the field together. Are you talking about maybe fighting opportunities
- 4:33Speaker 1: for them to have, you know, different roles in different looks,
- 4:37Speaker 1: Like is that what you're talking about when you're talking
- 4:38Speaker 1: about getting those guys more opportunities.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Opportunities to get him on the field in a game.
- 4:45Speaker 3: And situational bit, whether it's short yardage, whether it's certain
- 4:49Speaker 3: down in distances that maybe Jeremiah Trotter Junior might execute
- 4:54Speaker 3: it a little bit better, maybe he sees it a
- 4:55Speaker 3: little bit quicker plague recognition, ability to diagnose. I just
- 4:59Speaker 3: think I know that vic Vango does not traditionally rotate linebackers,
- 5:03Speaker 3: But when you have someone like Trotter Junior who has
- 5:06Speaker 3: had a good camp. He had a good camp last summer,
- 5:08Speaker 3: and there's different things that he brings from an intangible
- 5:11Speaker 3: standpoint that I think that they could incorporate into the
- 5:15Speaker 3: defense and maybe add another layer to it. But make
- 5:19Speaker 3: no mistake about it, John Campbell's drafted in the first
- 5:21Speaker 3: round for a reason. He brings you a certain unique
- 5:25Speaker 3: athletic traits there that maybe you're not really going to
- 5:29Speaker 3: find around the NFL. I think he's very much so
- 5:31Speaker 3: the modern day NFL linebacker in terms of his movement ability.
- 5:34Speaker 3: But there's more to it than that, and that's why
- 5:37Speaker 3: I think the Eagles kind of have the best of
- 5:39Speaker 3: all worlds with those three linebackers.
- 5:41Speaker 1: Talk with Andrew check Out for Today's Football and for
- 5:43Speaker 1: Powered by the Inside the Birds podcast. You got all
- 5:45Speaker 1: of his coverage of the Birds over at Inside the
- 5:48Speaker 1: Birds dot Com. Andrews, you mentioned Andrew Bakuba a moment
- 5:53Speaker 1: ago talk.
- 5:54Speaker 2: To us about safety.
- 5:55Speaker 1: What were you observed from the joint practices at safety,
- 5:58Speaker 1: because Figio he did talk about guys like Michael Carter
- 6:03Speaker 1: and others during his pressure this week.
- 6:07Speaker 3: What were my impressions on safety? Yeah, I mean, look,
- 6:13Speaker 3: Marcus EPs has been the front runner and that's been
- 6:15Speaker 3: something that's been a common theme throughout training camp and
- 6:19Speaker 3: for everything that Marcus EPs brings, he's a steady consistent player,
- 6:23Speaker 3: very instinctive, high football IQ. But he's not one that's
- 6:27Speaker 3: going to typically make the big play. But he gives
- 6:30Speaker 3: you a certain level of stability there whereas Michael Carter's
- 6:34Speaker 3: new to the position. But Michael Carter, I would argue,
- 6:37Speaker 3: elevates the ceiling of the defense because he's around the
- 6:39Speaker 3: football a lot. He gives you certain traits that maybe
- 6:43Speaker 3: otherwise wouldn't have from that position, meaning short area of quickness,
- 6:46Speaker 3: I discipline, ability to break on the football, some of
- 6:49Speaker 3: his traits that carried over from him being a high
- 6:52Speaker 3: end nickelback where he was with the Jets, where he
- 6:54Speaker 3: was once the highest paid nickelback in the NFL. I
- 6:57Speaker 3: just think that he brings a little something different and
- 7:00Speaker 3: the way that the NFL is trending the modern era,
- 7:03Speaker 3: you need to have safeties that allow you to be
- 7:05Speaker 3: multiple and they can cover some ground and allow you
- 7:07Speaker 3: to do some different things defensively. I think Michael Carter's
- 7:10Speaker 3: probably had a slightly better summer. I think it's fair
- 7:13Speaker 3: to say That's not to say that Marcus EPs has
- 7:15Speaker 3: had a bad summer just because you haven't seen him
- 7:18Speaker 3: make a lot of plays. That's not always the biggest indicator.
- 7:21Speaker 3: He's always seems to be in the right place. He's
- 7:22Speaker 3: not giving up big plays, and I think there's a
- 7:24Speaker 3: lot of trust there when it comes to Vic Vangio
- 7:27Speaker 3: in Marcus EPs. But I think Michael Carter is an
- 7:30Speaker 3: interesting player because he does have the range. Now, sometimes
- 7:35Speaker 3: his versatility may work against them because he wears three
- 7:37Speaker 3: different hats and so he's someone that you can deploy
- 7:41Speaker 3: in a number of different ways. And I think that
- 7:43Speaker 3: they're going to find a way to get him on
- 7:44Speaker 3: the field.
- 7:46Speaker 1: Andrew one more on the defensive side of the ball.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Talk to us about your observations from joint practices when
- 7:52Speaker 1: it comes to the edge rushers and the d line. Obviously,
- 7:55Speaker 1: Jonathan Grenard, we don't know when he's coming back, so
- 7:59Speaker 1: without him, a lot of focus and curiosity is about
- 8:03Speaker 1: who is the guy is going to be Outside of
- 8:05Speaker 1: Agillis help me, No, Hunt has popped.
- 8:07Speaker 2: He has developed well. But what of the other guys
- 8:10Speaker 2: are you looking at and what have you observed?
- 8:14Speaker 3: Yeah, well, outside of Jay Lox Hunt, I think no
- 8:16Speaker 3: one Smith has had a good training camp. It's been quiet,
- 8:18Speaker 3: but he's been effective. He's a violent edgsetter. He's added
- 8:21Speaker 3: weight and strength to his frame, and I think that
- 8:25Speaker 3: he's provided some good pressure in practice. He brings a
- 8:27Speaker 3: lot of intensity. I think he's kind of growing into
- 8:29Speaker 3: more of a leadership role, and he's healthy more important,
- 8:32Speaker 3: Most importantly, he's healthy at the stage of the game,
- 8:35Speaker 3: which is incredibly important for him because injuries have kept
- 8:38Speaker 3: him from I think reaching his fullest potential. And I
- 8:41Speaker 3: think he's had a nice camp. Then beyond that, you
- 8:43Speaker 3: have a Ak Ebkadi goes by Ak and they have
- 8:48Speaker 3: a Jvanessa and Ebkady is someone that I've taken notice of.
- 8:53Speaker 3: He's done some good things in terms of just setting
- 8:56Speaker 3: the edge. I think he's shown some juice as a
- 8:58Speaker 3: pass rusher in different circumstances, and he's played a lot
- 9:03Speaker 3: of football. He had some juice there. Then you have
- 9:05Speaker 3: someone like aj Epanessa, who's played a lot of football.
- 9:08Speaker 3: He's being asked to do things that he hasn't had
- 9:09Speaker 3: to do before. But he's working through some things. And
- 9:12Speaker 3: if you listen closely and pay attention to what vic
- 9:14Speaker 3: Vangio says, you'll hear that he seems intrigued with the
- 9:18Speaker 3: player and his body type. Josh is different from the
- 9:22Speaker 3: other players in that room. He's more of a bigger
- 9:25Speaker 3: bodied run defender type and he does bring a little
- 9:27Speaker 3: bit of an edge to him. I like the way
- 9:29Speaker 3: that he plays the game. I remember talking to Josh Wairu,
- 9:32Speaker 3: the Eagles rookie free agent in his first ever NFL game.
- 9:35Speaker 3: Talked to him afterwards and he said that in the
- 9:39Speaker 3: first or second play of the game, when he watched
- 9:41Speaker 3: aj Panessa set the edge, he said to himself, Oh, Okay,
- 9:44Speaker 3: it's on now, the game's on. So that tells you
- 9:47Speaker 3: the kind of player that he is and the way
- 9:49Speaker 3: that he plays the position. I think he adds a
- 9:51Speaker 3: different dimension to that edge rusher group.
- 9:54Speaker 1: You just mentioned about how Fangio has talked about ag Epanessa.
- 9:58Speaker 2: Can we hit on that real quick?
- 9:59Speaker 1: You talked about about how, hey, Jeremiah Trotter might be
- 10:02Speaker 1: a guy who gets play action in a certain matchup
- 10:05Speaker 1: certain situations. Is EPINESSA potentially could maybe be that kind
- 10:09Speaker 1: of guy too, where if you're facing certain teams with
- 10:12Speaker 1: certain formations or certain situations in a game, that he
- 10:16Speaker 1: could be a valuable piece for fanjer to deploy defensively.
- 10:21Speaker 3: Yeah, I think so. I don't know that they're going
- 10:23Speaker 3: to want to expose him too much in coverage. He's
- 10:26Speaker 3: never had to cover a wheel route before prior to
- 10:29Speaker 3: last Saturday. But I would also counter that by saying
- 10:32Speaker 3: that I think Nolan Smith is one of the better
- 10:34Speaker 3: pound for pound edge defenders when it comes to defending
- 10:37Speaker 3: the run, very throwback. He's kind of like a throwback
- 10:40Speaker 3: kind of player. And Jalob Hunts really molded himself into
- 10:43Speaker 3: an effective two way player as well. So I think
- 10:46Speaker 3: they have a lot of complimentary pieces there. And yes,
- 10:49Speaker 3: I do think that there's a world where Fangio who
- 10:52Speaker 3: can be creative and how he deploys his personnel, and
- 10:54Speaker 3: get a guy like Ajpanessa, who's again he's played in
- 10:58Speaker 3: over ninety games I believe in the nf So you
- 11:01Speaker 3: got to find a way to incorporate them, but certainly
- 11:03Speaker 3: not at the expense of your two top pass rushers,
- 11:06Speaker 3: not including Jonathan Grenard.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Yeah, and not that GE's too far ahead of ourselves, Andrew,
- 11:11Speaker 1: But you know, in my mind, I'm thinking about the
- 11:13Speaker 1: schedule this season, right. You know, you're going to play
- 11:15Speaker 1: a Bears team at Chicago this year. You're going to
- 11:18Speaker 1: play different teams that are going to throw at you.
- 11:21Speaker 1: Maybe some non traditional formations or looks, or that might
- 11:26Speaker 1: be scenarios where you might say, hey, they're running twelve
- 11:29Speaker 1: personnel or they're trying to run something different at us.
- 11:32Speaker 1: There might be guys on Fangio's defense that he might say,
- 11:35Speaker 1: you know what, in those matchups, this guy could be
- 11:38Speaker 1: maybe more valuable. Then let's see against a team like
- 11:41Speaker 1: the Rams might give you something different.
- 11:43Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, we're getting way ahead of ourselves here.
- 11:46Speaker 3: I think that there's a chance where somebody like that
- 11:48Speaker 3: could see an uptick in snaps. But in terms of
- 11:51Speaker 3: just taking on the lion's share for that particular game,
- 11:53Speaker 3: that's not how fake Fangio traditionally operates. But I think
- 11:56Speaker 3: there's a world where you look at all the pieces
- 11:59Speaker 3: that you have and you find the way to best
- 12:00Speaker 3: optimize what they do well, which is what any good
- 12:03Speaker 3: coordinator does, and vic Vango, in my estimation, is the
- 12:06Speaker 3: best in the business. They're going to find a way
- 12:08Speaker 3: to get everybody involved.
- 12:10Speaker 1: Getting everybody involved us at the offensive side of the ball,
- 12:12Speaker 1: Andrew a lot of guys running a lot of different
- 12:16Speaker 1: routes because of this training camp, you know, mackay Lemon,
- 12:19Speaker 1: Devonte Smith, miss A lot of time. So what did
- 12:22Speaker 1: you see from the guys who are wide receiver who
- 12:25Speaker 1: are not named Smith and Lemon during the two years
- 12:28Speaker 1: of joint practices.
- 12:30Speaker 3: Yeah, I thought Hollywood Brown emerged a little bit. He's
- 12:33Speaker 3: had a quiet training camp. He hasn't really been used
- 12:35Speaker 3: as a vertical threat, but he's found the saft spots
- 12:38Speaker 3: in coverage. I think of a play that really illustrates
- 12:41Speaker 3: what he's been all about in his career was on
- 12:44Speaker 3: Monday's practice. He caught a pass right in front of
- 12:46Speaker 3: Tarik Woollen and he he had his back to him,
- 12:51Speaker 3: but he had a really good feel for spacing and
- 12:53Speaker 3: able to navigate that and pick up yards after the catch.
- 12:55Speaker 3: I think then Eagles need to find a way to
- 12:57Speaker 3: get him in space if they're not going to use
- 12:59Speaker 3: him as deep threat, which no team that he's been
- 13:02Speaker 3: on has has found a way to tap into that
- 13:04Speaker 3: for whatever reason. But I thought he's emerged a little bit.
- 13:07Speaker 3: He caught a nice pass and for a touchdown with
- 13:09Speaker 3: good coverage from Kendall Vildor, the cornerback for the Patriots,
- 13:13Speaker 3: in a situational period, and he actually caught one before
- 13:17Speaker 3: that that he couldn't get his feet in, but Hurts
- 13:19Speaker 3: went right back to the well. Elijah Moore missed the
- 13:22Speaker 3: second practice with a neck injury, but prior to that
- 13:25Speaker 3: he's been someone that Jalen seems to have some trust
- 13:27Speaker 3: in as a chain mover, not as not typically I
- 13:31Speaker 3: say typically because he caught a deep pass in that practice,
- 13:33Speaker 3: but not typically as a big play guy, but more
- 13:36Speaker 3: as someone who can effectively move the chains and keep
- 13:39Speaker 3: the offense on schedule. And Darius Cooper's cooled off a
- 13:42Speaker 3: little bit after a really hot start to training camp,
- 13:44Speaker 3: didn't have a good preseason game. So of that group,
- 13:48Speaker 3: I mean, there is a little bit to be desired.
- 13:50Speaker 3: I mean, the Eagles just waived Johnny Wilson as we
- 13:53Speaker 3: got on this call, and that's a shame because Johnny
- 13:56Speaker 3: Wilson is a player who I was curious to see
- 13:59Speaker 3: how he would fit in this I think the Eagles
- 14:01Speaker 3: really liked him, but he's been sidelined with a knee injury.
- 14:04Speaker 3: So I think they're a wide receiver depth. We're gonna
- 14:06Speaker 3: learn a lot about that over the next couple of weeks.
- 14:08Speaker 3: Makai Lemon need was to say still needs to get
- 14:11Speaker 3: he needs to catch up, and that's not going to
- 14:13Speaker 3: be an easy task. But aside from those big the
- 14:15Speaker 3: top three receivers, I do have questions in terms of
- 14:18Speaker 3: their depth.
- 14:19Speaker 2: No, and you should have questions.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And yes, Johnny Wilson wave with injured designations when I'm
- 14:24Speaker 1: reading he'll revert to the injured reserve if he clears waivers.
- 14:28Speaker 1: So that is definitely a shame because now the Eagles
- 14:31Speaker 1: are losing a guy who you know, people were very
- 14:34Speaker 1: curious about seeing how you fit in this offense. But
- 14:36Speaker 1: I guess that means just more opportunities for these other guys,
- 14:40Speaker 1: you know, between the Hollywood Brown, Elijah Moore, Darius Cooper.
- 14:46Speaker 1: You know, do we anticipate all three of those guys
- 14:49Speaker 1: to get significant action tomorrow night in preseason game number two?
- 14:52Speaker 1: And of those three, who are you most curious about
- 14:55Speaker 1: for Tomorrow night?
- 14:56Speaker 3: Well, we'll have to see about Elijah Moore because as
- 14:58Speaker 3: I mentioned, he had the issue that kept him out
- 15:01Speaker 3: of day too. But I am anticipating seeing a lot
- 15:04Speaker 3: of Darius Cooper, a decent amount of Hollywood Brown. I
- 15:08Speaker 3: mean he only played seven snaps. Him and Elijah Moore
- 15:10Speaker 3: played seven snaps in the preseason opener. They there's not
- 15:13Speaker 3: a lot more that they can learn about him, So
- 15:16Speaker 3: you don't and if you know that he's going to
- 15:17Speaker 3: be on the roster, or if you have a pretty
- 15:19Speaker 3: strong sense, I mean, five million guaranteed pretty much tells you.
- 15:22Speaker 3: It gives you the answers to the test there. Sure,
- 15:24Speaker 3: I don't know that you want to expose them, not
- 15:26Speaker 3: necessary risk, But there's other guys there. You know, you
- 15:29Speaker 3: have your Quez Watkins's, you have your Brittain Coveys and
- 15:32Speaker 3: another players Hollywood Brown and all and the players that
- 15:36Speaker 3: we talked about, well, really Hollywood Brown, they got a
- 15:39Speaker 3: lot of quality work in the joint practices. So I
- 15:42Speaker 3: don't know that you're going to see a lot of him,
- 15:43Speaker 3: But in terms of like Darius Cooper and some of
- 15:46Speaker 3: those other players, yeah, that's fair to expect. Andrew.
- 15:53Speaker 1: Beforey let you go, some of the reports coming out
- 15:56Speaker 1: of the joint practice were about Jill and Hurt getting
- 15:59Speaker 1: the ball, the Saquon the will Shipley in different situations
- 16:03Speaker 1: as outlets. What is your perspective on the running backs role?
- 16:07Speaker 1: How is shaping up to look like in this offense?
- 16:11Speaker 3: Well, I'm glad you mentioned that, because first off, I
- 16:13Speaker 3: do want to mention that I know that training camp
- 16:16Speaker 3: In preseasons a lot about finding out who's going to
- 16:19Speaker 3: be the final pieces on the roster and the down
- 16:22Speaker 3: the roster type of players, who's your sleeper. But I
- 16:24Speaker 3: don't want to lose sight of the star players who
- 16:27Speaker 3: are going to mean the most when the Eagles get
- 16:29Speaker 3: into the regular season. And Saquon Barkley's had a really
- 16:32Speaker 3: strong training camp. He showed good juice and burst. Really
- 16:35Speaker 3: he's no different than the player that he was since
- 16:37Speaker 3: he's been here. But yes, both Saquon Barkley and Will
- 16:41Speaker 3: Shipley caught the ball very effectively. Tank Bigsby that's not
- 16:45Speaker 3: necessarily his forte. I am curious to see if they
- 16:47Speaker 3: choose to get him in the mix there as well.
- 16:50Speaker 3: But I know with Will and Saquon, they're really lethal
- 16:53Speaker 3: on those Will routes. But it seems like we say
- 16:55Speaker 3: this every summer that they're going to be involved, and
- 16:58Speaker 3: then when the regular season rolls around, it becomes an afterthought.
- 17:01Speaker 3: But in this offense with Sean Mannion, which we don't
- 17:05Speaker 3: have an entirely firm grasp on what we can fully expect,
- 17:08Speaker 3: we have an idea. I would imagine that you want
- 17:12Speaker 3: to have those built in outlet options for your quarterback
- 17:15Speaker 3: in a timing based offense where you have to get
- 17:17Speaker 3: the ball out quickly, why not make life a little
- 17:19Speaker 3: bit easier for your quarterback and have those built in
- 17:22Speaker 3: answers in terms of the you know, the running backs.
- 17:25Speaker 3: But I don't think it's that the coordinators in the
- 17:28Speaker 3: past haven't wanted it. Jalen Hurts has to be able
- 17:30Speaker 3: to embrace it if that's something that Sean Mannion wants
- 17:34Speaker 3: to do, Because for whatever reason, every offense, every iteration
- 17:37Speaker 3: of it, year after year, has not incorporated it. But
- 17:40Speaker 3: I think in this particular circumstance it makes a lot
- 17:43Speaker 3: of sense.
