That is the Gloria I wanted to write about.

Not the icon frozen on magazine covers. Not the list of accomplishments we all know. But the woman who kept asking questions, kept opening doors, kept connecting people, and kept insisting that hope was not foolishness but part of the work.

I was fortunate enough to spend time with her. Years later, she did something I treasure: she recommended my writing to her own readers. Some of you are here because she sent you.
