- 0:19Speaker 1: Welcome into jags am here in not so sunny but
- 0:23Speaker 1: beautiful England as we are presented by Jet Home Loans. Today,
- 0:26Speaker 1: you guys were on location, not the Honday Studios, but
- 0:28Speaker 1: Honday Studios on location and it's pretty much as good
- 0:31Speaker 1: as this is going to get for environments.
- 0:33Speaker 2: It's at least in terms for practice.
- 0:34Speaker 3: Ranberry Studios sounds almost the same there studios.
- 0:37Speaker 1: Yes, John, I know you don't like to be away
- 0:39Speaker 1: from home, but we're doing okay.
- 0:40Speaker 2: Right, this is awesome. It's awesome.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Look at this. We got positive job today. I'm excited.
- 0:44Speaker 1: All right, let's get into our big things right away.
- 0:47Speaker 1: Big thing number one this week is going to be
- 0:49Speaker 1: Josh Allen. And this week Josh Allen can mean two
- 0:52Speaker 1: different people, because as we know, we have our Josh
- 0:54Speaker 1: Allen and this week we're gonna be facing off against
- 0:56Speaker 1: Bill's quarterback Josh Allen and that will not be a
- 1:00Speaker 1: light test because what we've seen from him the last
- 1:02Speaker 1: couple of weeks, Brian has been him at peak form.
- 1:04Speaker 3: Well you know, he threw the three interceptions on opening
- 1:08Speaker 3: night against the Jets and everyone said, while, oh, there's
- 1:11Speaker 3: Josh Allen. He's regressing since then he's throwing eight touchdowns
- 1:14Speaker 3: in one interception, completed seventy seven percent of his passes,
- 1:18Speaker 3: and oh, by the way, these Bills have scored thirty eight,
- 1:21Speaker 3: thirty seven, and forty one points or partly forty eight
- 1:23Speaker 3: points for an average of forty one. You name it.
- 1:26Speaker 3: They're doing it well, especially on offense. And Josh Allen
- 1:29Speaker 3: is playing like an MVP right now.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Well, when he's right, he's as good as any quarterback
- 1:34Speaker 2: in the league, including Mahomes, mainly because he has that
- 1:38Speaker 2: running ability where he can just run through guys. His
- 1:41Speaker 2: issue over the years has been every once in a
- 1:43Speaker 2: while he has a game much like Week one, where
- 1:47Speaker 2: you say, oh, you know, there's that guys. It's a
- 1:51Speaker 2: very dangerous task and they need again for the Jaguars
- 1:56Speaker 2: Josh Allen to be the best Josh Allen on the field,
- 1:59Speaker 2: which a couple years ago.
- 2:00Speaker 3: You know, there's there. You can look at numbers, you know,
- 2:02Speaker 3: six six, two fifty looks different on some people. This
- 2:07Speaker 3: is a big If you stand next to him on
- 2:09Speaker 3: Sunday at any point, you will see he looks like
- 2:11Speaker 3: an offensive tackle, right. I mean, he's not quite as
- 2:13Speaker 3: heavy as an offensive tackle, but He's just massive, broad shoulders,
- 2:17Speaker 3: long arms. When he's in the pocket, he's very difficult
- 2:20Speaker 3: to bring down. And more so than that, when he
- 2:22Speaker 3: gets up a full head of steam, he's not scared
- 2:24Speaker 3: to put his shoulder down and push through someone to
- 2:26Speaker 3: get to the first down marker. He is as dangerous
- 2:29Speaker 3: a quarterback as there is.
- 2:30Speaker 1: John. Are we going to see another example of the
- 2:32Speaker 1: battle of the Josh Allen's like we saw last time,
- 2:34Speaker 1: where our Josh Allen had a day?
- 2:36Speaker 2: Well, you sure hope. So, I mean I got a
- 2:38Speaker 2: question a couple of days ago about you know, well
- 2:41Speaker 2: the Jaguar used the same strategy that they did two
- 2:44Speaker 2: years ago. Well, they're not gonna want to use the
- 2:46Speaker 2: nine point game, so.
- 2:48Speaker 3: I'm gonna hold those guys to six.
- 2:49Speaker 2: Well I don't think they're gonna winn to score nine either,
- 2:51Speaker 2: So I don't think they used the offensive game plan.
- 2:54Speaker 2: But if they can have a game plan where Josh
- 2:55Speaker 2: Allen Jaguars, Josh Allen is disruptive and somehow get the
- 3:01Speaker 2: Bills Josh Allen into one of those days where he
- 3:04Speaker 2: forces something where he just does stuff he doesn't wanted to.
- 3:07Speaker 2: That's what you want, and this Josh Allen mean the
- 3:11Speaker 2: Jaguars this year, there's no reason to think he's not
- 3:15Speaker 2: going to play well right now. So I think there's
- 3:16Speaker 2: a chance.
- 3:17Speaker 3: You could absolutely see Josh Allen and Josh Allen. But
- 3:19Speaker 3: I think it's more likely if the Jaguars win on
- 3:21Speaker 3: Sunday that you see Travon Walker's name coming into it,
- 3:23Speaker 3: because they desperately need more pressure from him off the
- 3:27Speaker 3: other edge, and you know, while we're at it, the
- 3:28Speaker 3: guy's pushing the pocket on Sunday could really help force
- 3:32Speaker 3: him to step out and give them a better chance.
- 3:34Speaker 3: But they really need Travon Walker to come through on
- 3:36Speaker 3: Sunday because you know, the Bills are going to slide
- 3:38Speaker 3: the protection towards Josh Allen, knowing what he did to
- 3:40Speaker 3: them two years ago and knowing what he did a
- 3:42Speaker 3: week ago.
- 3:43Speaker 1: Our big thing number two this week is going to
- 3:45Speaker 1: be cavalry because we've got some help coming back this week.
- 3:48Speaker 1: Cam has been taken off of the suspension list, so
- 3:52Speaker 1: he's back practicing. He could be available to play this week,
- 3:55Speaker 1: say Jones, is a potential possibility at Agnew's working his
- 3:58Speaker 1: way back. When you look at that, is that hopeful
- 4:01Speaker 1: for us? I mean, I know, things aren't going great
- 4:02Speaker 1: on the offensive side of the ball right now, but
- 4:04Speaker 1: some people are coming back.
- 4:05Speaker 2: It's always better to have your guys than not have
- 4:07Speaker 2: your guys. And I do think Cam Robinson, if he
- 4:12Speaker 2: can play left tackle, will matter. It would enable him
- 4:16Speaker 2: to move Walk a little somewhere and help everybody. When
- 4:23Speaker 2: Cam was suspended, there was this overall feeling of, well,
- 4:26Speaker 2: his contract might be up at the end of the season,
- 4:28Speaker 2: let's move Walker a little there, don't worry about maybe
- 4:31Speaker 2: even trick, you know, Brian, When guys are starters and
- 4:35Speaker 2: five or six year starters in the NFL, they're that
- 4:38Speaker 2: for a reason. Cam matters this offensive line on the
- 4:41Speaker 2: field and off the field.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Well, the reason the conversation about the salary cap came
- 4:45Speaker 3: up is because he's got a twenty three million dollar
- 4:47Speaker 3: cap figure next year, one of four players over twenty
- 4:50Speaker 3: three million dollars, and they have to pay a quarterback,
- 4:53Speaker 3: maybe a quarnerback, maybe a pass rusher. So that's why
- 4:55Speaker 3: that conversation came up. And honestly, the inside of the
- 4:58Speaker 3: line has been so effective that they need Cam back
- 5:02Speaker 3: so they can move Walker little in And I'm going
- 5:05Speaker 3: to talk about that to a greater degree coming up
- 5:08Speaker 3: with this or that. So I'll talk more about the
- 5:12Speaker 3: fact that you get Jay Jones potentially back this week.
- 5:15Speaker 3: He's such a clutch guy for the quarterback and we
- 5:18Speaker 3: haven't seen him in a couple of weeks. He's always
- 5:20Speaker 3: seemingly there when he needs them, and it's not just
- 5:23Speaker 3: like the dump off, it's oh, there's a twenty two
- 5:25Speaker 3: yards down the field on third and nine. And not
- 5:28Speaker 3: having him the last two weeks, the offense has seemed
- 5:31Speaker 3: a bit out of rhythm. Not that Zay Jones is
- 5:33Speaker 3: the heartbeat of the offense, but he's more important than
- 5:35Speaker 3: people give him credit for. We talk about Christian Kirk,
- 5:38Speaker 3: Evan Ingram, Calvin Ridley, Travis, etn. Zay Jones is no
- 5:43Speaker 3: less important than any of them when you look at
- 5:45Speaker 3: the overall flow of the offense, and I think it's
- 5:48Speaker 3: big one other guy. And I don't know who's back
- 5:49Speaker 3: this week, but we could hear today from the head
- 5:52Speaker 3: coach that he is going to be activated to the
- 5:54Speaker 3: twenty one day practice window. Was Duwan Smoot And we've
- 5:57Speaker 3: talked about the practice and the pass rush. That would
- 6:00Speaker 3: be an interesting one where we can find that up
- 6:02Speaker 3: this morning.
- 6:02Speaker 1: Antonio Johnson's been practicing as well, so there's a lot
- 6:05Speaker 1: of names of different people that'll be coming back in
- 6:07Speaker 1: the coming week. So that's something to keep an eye
- 6:09Speaker 1: on for sure. Our final big thing today is second
- 6:11Speaker 1: of four because the second of the four big AFC
- 6:16Speaker 1: matchups that they have this season. Obviously Kansas City was
- 6:18Speaker 1: one of them the Bills this week, and then we'll
- 6:20Speaker 1: have Cincinnati and the Ravens a little bit later on
- 6:23Speaker 1: in the season, and of the AFC elites, right, that's
- 6:25Speaker 1: kind of where you measure yourself up against them. John
- 6:28Speaker 1: I know we'll go into a little bit of the
- 6:29Speaker 1: Kansas City versus this game with the Bills, but it's
- 6:32Speaker 1: always good to see where you're at against the team
- 6:34Speaker 1: you know we'll be around in the playoffs.
- 6:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's you know, I think of the two games
- 6:39Speaker 2: that they played in London last week really mattered. I
- 6:44Speaker 2: think that had more of a must feel than this
- 6:46Speaker 2: game it has. If you dropped to two and three,
- 6:49Speaker 2: you don't want to drop to two and three, But
- 6:50Speaker 2: if you dropped to two and three, you've got the
- 6:52Speaker 2: Colts next week and you still fight, you it's still
- 6:56Speaker 2: within range. If you drop this game, This is more
- 7:00Speaker 2: of a measuring state game. It's one of four or five.
- 7:04Speaker 2: Don't forget Frisco is in there too at the AFC,
- 7:07Speaker 2: but a monster game. So this is one of those,
- 7:11Speaker 2: and you would like to get it. If you don't
- 7:14Speaker 2: get it, it's not the end of the world. Don't
- 7:18Speaker 2: love the chances that the Bills play well because Bills
- 7:20Speaker 2: are at such a high level right now. It's not
- 7:22Speaker 2: knocking the Jaguars. Bills might be the best team in
- 7:25Speaker 2: football right now.
- 7:25Speaker 3: I think they are, which is why I think this
- 7:27Speaker 3: is interesting because with Kansas City, you know how they
- 7:30Speaker 3: like to play, and you've been close. I mean, you
- 7:32Speaker 3: can go back and look last November, last January, this
- 7:34Speaker 3: game that we just saw in September, and now you
- 7:38Speaker 3: get a completely different Bills team than this club has
- 7:40Speaker 3: seen in a while. Two years ago, they were coming
- 7:42Speaker 3: off of a big win in Kansas City on a
- 7:44Speaker 3: Sunday night, and I thought we'd see that powerhouse Bills team.
- 7:47Speaker 3: We didn't. For whatever reason. They were completely ineffective. They
- 7:50Speaker 3: were totally flat that day. It was a nine to
- 7:52Speaker 3: six game. I expect that we're going to see on
- 7:54Speaker 3: Sunday those Bills that put forty eight points up against
- 7:57Speaker 3: the Dolphins, that powerhouse football team, and I want to
- 8:00Speaker 3: know how this team matches up.
- 8:01Speaker 1: Sure, I think we will definitely see some of that
- 8:03Speaker 1: on Sunday here on jags Am. One of our sponsors,
- 8:06Speaker 1: Fields Auto Group, Jacksonville, Step up to Luxury Fields Auto
- 8:09Speaker 1: dot Com. We'll be right back talking a little bit
- 8:11Speaker 1: more about what's going on in the division in the
- 8:13Speaker 1: AFC South. So we're back here on jags Am this
- 8:18Speaker 1: morning on location in London as the team prepares for
- 8:21Speaker 1: their second game abroad, as they'll take on the Buffalo
- 8:24Speaker 1: Bills this week. But we're gonna check in around the
- 8:26Speaker 1: AFC South see what everybody else is doing, because everybody's
- 8:29Speaker 1: tied it two and two right now, so the playing
- 8:31Speaker 1: field is up for grabs and the lead is up
- 8:33Speaker 1: for grabs, I guess. Depending on this week, we're gonna
- 8:35Speaker 1: start it with the Titans, who just beat down on
- 8:37Speaker 1: the Bengals, which I don't know if it says more
- 8:38Speaker 1: about them or says more about where the Bengals are
- 8:40Speaker 1: at right now, if they're just falling apart or what's
- 8:42Speaker 1: going on there. But it's it's crazy to say this.
- 8:44Speaker 3: League is so interesting because two weeks ago the Cleveland
- 8:47Speaker 3: Browns just took apart the Titans. They couldn't do anything
- 8:50Speaker 3: right and they beat them twenty seven to three. Then
- 8:52Speaker 3: you go get a team that many consider to be
- 8:54Speaker 3: a favorite in the AFC this year in Cincinnati, and
- 8:57Speaker 3: they did everything right and they beat them twenty seven
- 8:59Speaker 3: to three. Right, I mean, which team is it? I'll
- 9:03Speaker 3: say this, they got a big game from Derrick Henry,
- 9:07Speaker 3: which is what has powered them. It's made Ryan Tannehill
- 9:10Speaker 3: so effective since he joined them in twenty nineteen. If
- 9:13Speaker 3: they can continue to get that, we'll see the good Titans.
- 9:16Speaker 3: On the days where he's bottled up, it's all on
- 9:18Speaker 3: Tannehill in his arm, and they don't have the receivers
- 9:21Speaker 3: necessarily to take over a game. But when the running
- 9:23Speaker 3: game works, man, they're good.
- 9:24Speaker 2: Yeah. And it really is a week to week league
- 9:29Speaker 2: in the AFC South. Two long standing NFL truce have
- 9:33Speaker 2: comeing to me week to weekly leagues one of them.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And you just don't know what the league is until
- 9:36Speaker 2: about five or six weeks in. Are the Titans that team?
- 9:41Speaker 2: I don't think we know yet. I've said all along though,
- 9:45Speaker 2: count them out at your own peril under Mike Vrabel,
- 9:48Speaker 2: this team always seems to have three and one, two
- 9:52Speaker 2: and two to start, and then they get it together.
- 9:55Speaker 2: If they stay healthy, they're always dangerous. Out of the
- 9:57Speaker 2: teams in the division. The Titans to me to still
- 10:00Speaker 2: feel like the team because of that element and they
- 10:03Speaker 2: know who they are. They always feel dangerous until they're eliminade.
- 10:06Speaker 3: He's a veteran coach and a guy who always seems
- 10:08Speaker 3: to have a murder to go.
- 10:09Speaker 1: Always seems to find a way he does elsewhere in
- 10:12Speaker 1: the division. The Texans man handled the Steelers, and again
- 10:16Speaker 1: the Texans are starting to show a little something, maybe
- 10:19Speaker 1: sooner than we expect it.
- 10:20Speaker 3: Yeah, CJ. Stroud is coming out of the gates like
- 10:22Speaker 3: Ben Roethlisberger did, right, Only Ben Roethlisberger had Jerome Pettis
- 10:26Speaker 3: and an excellent defense and they don't necessarily have all
- 10:29Speaker 3: the weapons around. So he's been really impressive and very composed.
- 10:33Speaker 3: I still don't think he's throwing an interception, which is
- 10:35Speaker 3: remarkable for a rookie quarterback. I think that meltdown moment
- 10:39Speaker 3: is probably coming, but that's only you know, based on
- 10:42Speaker 3: a longstanding history in the league of it happening to
- 10:45Speaker 3: every rookie quarterback. I wet it didn't happen to Ben.
- 10:49Speaker 3: He won eleven games in a row. So Stroud is
- 10:51Speaker 3: either going to have his letdown or he's going to
- 10:55Speaker 3: be Ben Roethlisberger, which is not a good sign for
- 10:57Speaker 3: the Jags in the division. It means he's gonna be
- 11:00Speaker 3: for a long time. Yeah.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I think the Texans are okay. I think the Jaguars
- 11:06Speaker 2: played poorly against him, so I think that gave the
- 11:09Speaker 2: Texans a chance to look really good in Jackson and
- 11:12Speaker 2: not taking the victory away from him, but they looked
- 11:14Speaker 2: really good in that game because the Jaguars looked really bad.
- 11:18Speaker 2: I sort of wonder if the Steelers aren't sort of
- 11:23Speaker 2: maybe they should be in AFC South because they've been
- 11:26Speaker 2: up and down, up and down. Yeah, So I don't
- 11:28Speaker 2: know if we can figure out yet what the Steelers
- 11:30Speaker 2: are to say that the Texans are a power, but
- 11:33Speaker 2: they're sure not in that bottom five of the league
- 11:36Speaker 2: that people thought they were aforehand. They're more tough to
- 11:41Speaker 2: figure for me than the Titans. I don't quite believe
- 11:44Speaker 2: they're great, but they're better than we thought.
- 11:46Speaker 3: Well, Jamika Ryans is getting a lot of credit in Houston,
- 11:48Speaker 3: as they should for the job that he has done coaching,
- 11:51Speaker 3: and he's got that defense playing better than their talent
- 11:53Speaker 3: would seem to indicate. It's interesting because Mike Tomlin, who
- 11:56Speaker 3: is as tough a tough guy as there is in
- 11:58Speaker 3: the league, was all over his team postgame and early
- 12:01Speaker 3: this week about the fact that they got manhandled by
- 12:04Speaker 3: the Texas. The Steelers are not used to being the
- 12:06Speaker 3: team that is pushed all over the field, especially not
- 12:09Speaker 3: with a big power back like Najie Harris, but teams
- 12:11Speaker 3: have done it to them, and the Texans did on Sunday.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Very interesting the people that were taking that quarterback in
- 12:15Speaker 1: Pittsburgh over Trevor Lawrence. Right about now, we're gonna check
- 12:19Speaker 1: out the Colts. That's our final thing in the AFC South.
- 12:21Speaker 1: They lost a close one in overtime to the Rams
- 12:24Speaker 1: this week, and they're gonna be the opponent we see
- 12:26Speaker 1: when we head back to Jacksonville, and they look like
- 12:28Speaker 1: they're putting some things together as well.
- 12:30Speaker 2: Yeah, it feels like it's gonna be a big game.
- 12:32Speaker 2: I mean, it's going to be a chance, no matter
- 12:35Speaker 2: what happens on Sunday for the Jaguars to get two
- 12:38Speaker 2: games over division rivals, so it's gonna be key. I
- 12:41Speaker 2: think most people thought Brian before the season that if
- 12:44Speaker 2: you played Minshew over Anthony Richardson, it would give the
- 12:47Speaker 2: Colts a better chance for the short term. It would
- 12:51Speaker 2: be interesting if they win Sunday and they go into
- 12:55Speaker 2: Jacksonville and if they can get to a certain number
- 12:58Speaker 2: of wins, do they stick with Minshew, you know, because
- 13:03Speaker 2: they think they've got something right now, or they go
- 13:05Speaker 2: back to him. I have no idea the answer to that.
- 13:07Speaker 3: Well, Richardson played last week against the Rams.
- 13:10Speaker 2: Well that shows me I was over in London.
- 13:11Speaker 3: Yeah, he played against the Rams and he played well
- 13:14Speaker 3: and got them a chance to get back into the
- 13:16Speaker 3: ball game. So I imagine they'll they'll stay with him.
- 13:19Speaker 3: What's interesting is if you go back to opening Day,
- 13:21Speaker 3: the Jaguars offensive line played very poorly, inconsistently. Phil Rauscher
- 13:27Speaker 3: would say against that Colt's defensive front, which is why
- 13:30Speaker 3: they need to make some adjustments to the offensive line
- 13:33Speaker 3: and get it right with Cam Robinson back, because if
- 13:36Speaker 3: you're gonna beat the Cults, you're gonna have to control
- 13:37Speaker 3: the line of scrimmage. They didn't do a good job
- 13:39Speaker 3: of that on opening day, and it'll be a measuring
- 13:42Speaker 3: stick for the offensive line if they're ready to go
- 13:44Speaker 3: and play them when we get back to Jacksonville.
- 13:47Speaker 1: We're gonna do some more offensive line talk when we
- 13:49Speaker 1: come back here on Jags Am. Stay with us, and
- 13:51Speaker 1: we got this or that coming up after the break.
- 14:00Speaker 4: Y'all look good man, I'm great great, Y'll look good
- 14:03Speaker 4: Man's pistol formation.
- 14:06Speaker 5: Play fake Trevor rolling left fire that's caught by to
- 14:09Speaker 5: Evan Ingram. He's got a forty five in the falcon
- 14:12Speaker 5: serratory along the air sideline.
- 14:19Speaker 3: Hey, why don't be a doll?
- 14:20Speaker 1: Bro?
- 14:20Speaker 3: Whyn't be a doll?
- 14:21Speaker 2: Bro?
- 14:21Speaker 3: Hey?
- 14:22Speaker 4: Sit down, big fella, sit down, get your rest all right?
- 14:25Speaker 3: Why the fight, man? Why the fight? Bro?
- 14:27Speaker 5: Wait?
- 14:27Speaker 3: You step up? Way to step up?
- 14:28Speaker 2: All day?
- 14:29Speaker 1: Bro?
- 14:29Speaker 3: That was big Tom brother.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Miked up for us this week in that game at
- 14:37Speaker 1: Wembley Stadium. I found out we are three and oh
- 14:40Speaker 1: when Evan is miked up. So we should do that
- 14:41Speaker 1: a little bit more.
- 14:42Speaker 3: I think right put one on him permanently.
- 14:44Speaker 2: Was that the play where they were still singing sweet? Yeah?
- 14:47Speaker 3: He talked about that.
- 14:48Speaker 2: That was fantastic. It was so funny.
- 14:49Speaker 1: He was like, Yeah, I knew they're coming to me
- 14:50Speaker 1: and I couldn't hear anything or the snap, so I
- 14:52Speaker 1: just kind.
- 14:53Speaker 2: Of ran ritz love sweet cairline.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Oh they sure do, which I didn't know outside of Boston,
- 14:58Speaker 1: but apparently it's very popular here in the UK as well.
- 15:00Speaker 1: So we're going to get to our price dot Com
- 15:02Speaker 1: this or that today, Brian, do you want to kick
- 15:05Speaker 1: us off? What's your this or that for?
- 15:06Speaker 3: Else? The Jaguars have a rare opportunity because you've got
- 15:09Speaker 3: a starting left tackle who is coming off suspension, You've
- 15:12Speaker 3: got a left tackle who has started in his place
- 15:15Speaker 3: who has played well, and you've got a valuable reserve
- 15:18Speaker 3: who is extremely close with this quarterback. So do you
- 15:21Speaker 3: make the wholesale changes? I assume John, like you have
- 15:24Speaker 3: been saying that we're going to see Walker little slide
- 15:26Speaker 3: inside and Cam into the lineup. But I'm saying because
- 15:29Speaker 3: Luke Fortner has not played well this year. He just hasn't.
- 15:32Speaker 3: And the thought was he would get stronger, and he
- 15:35Speaker 3: hasn't because he's getting pushed at the line of scrimmage
- 15:37Speaker 3: and that is throwing off the timing of the offense.
- 15:40Speaker 3: As far as I can tell So I would make
- 15:42Speaker 3: the whole sale change. I take Shylo Shatley, who has
- 15:44Speaker 3: played center here at a very high level for them
- 15:46Speaker 3: when they have needed it, move him to center, put
- 15:49Speaker 3: Walker Little in at left guard, and I would put
- 15:52Speaker 3: Cam Robbinson at left tackle. And I know you're going
- 15:53Speaker 3: to say that the quarterback centers thing is important, continuity
- 15:57Speaker 3: all that, But Tyler Shatley is he and Trevor are
- 16:02Speaker 3: very tight, right, They share the same agent, they share
- 16:04Speaker 3: the same pastor, they share the same alum you know,
- 16:07Speaker 3: Alma mater. I mean, these guys are tight, and I
- 16:09Speaker 3: think he's a calming factor for Trevor Lawrence. So I
- 16:12Speaker 3: would go ahead and make the wholesale change.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I certainly wouldn't rule that out. I don't think
- 16:16Speaker 2: we'll have a great idea if that's gonna happen or not,
- 16:20Speaker 2: maybe U till game time because they do. I would
- 16:23Speaker 2: not rule it out. Because of Shatley's strength and they
- 16:25Speaker 2: have gotten too much push on the interior. I don't
- 16:29Speaker 2: think it would be a bad idea. The counter argument
- 16:32Speaker 2: against it would be, as you say, there is some
- 16:35Speaker 2: continuity not only with quarterback, both offensive line calls that
- 16:41Speaker 2: teams don't like to change centers unless they have to.
- 16:44Speaker 2: I think it's a fascinating storyline all season. I mean
- 16:47Speaker 2: all week, though, Ryan.
- 16:49Speaker 1: I'm curious if Cam will get in immediately because there's
- 16:51Speaker 1: still some speculation about whether he'll be ready to go.
- 16:53Speaker 1: He's been around the team, but he hasn't been practicing yet,
- 16:55Speaker 1: so I think he will be.
- 16:56Speaker 3: But he wasn't a great shape in August and they
- 16:58Speaker 3: were unhappy with him. He needed to get he needed
- 17:02Speaker 3: to dial it in while he was away. From what
- 17:04Speaker 3: I've heard right from people in the building last week
- 17:07Speaker 3: is that he looks good okay.
- 17:09Speaker 2: And my guess with Cam is he probably knew he
- 17:11Speaker 2: wasn't going to need to be ready until now. He's
- 17:14Speaker 2: a veteran knows how to get his body ready. I
- 17:16Speaker 2: would guess that's the case. We'll see.
- 17:18Speaker 1: That's what i've heard, all right, John, what's here this
- 17:20Speaker 1: or that for us this week in terms of kind
- 17:22Speaker 1: of a tough test.
- 17:23Speaker 2: Well tougher test of the Kansas City Chiefs, who you
- 17:26Speaker 2: would think would have been the toughest test of the season,
- 17:29Speaker 2: being the defending Super Bowl champions, and they're brutally tough
- 17:31Speaker 2: no matter what or the Buffalo Bills in Week five
- 17:35Speaker 2: before the season, I think most people would have said
- 17:37Speaker 2: the Chiefs. And this is nothing against the Chiefs, but
- 17:40Speaker 2: when they came in, Brian, you remember, Travis Kelcey wasn't
- 17:43Speaker 2: quite up to speed, Chris Jones. They had great games,
- 17:47Speaker 2: but they didn't feel like the Chiefs.
- 17:49Speaker 3: Yet.
- 17:50Speaker 2: Whatever the Bills are, they feel like the Bills. So
- 17:52Speaker 2: I think this it's hard to imagine the Jaguars this
- 17:56Speaker 2: season facing a team coming in hotter. Something you said
- 18:00Speaker 2: earlier sort of triggered me thinking they had played the Chiefs,
- 18:04Speaker 2: so they sort of knew what to expect. We sort
- 18:06Speaker 2: of knew the matchups to watch. With the Bills. I
- 18:10Speaker 2: don't think anything that happened two years ago really was
- 18:13Speaker 2: this week. I have no idea what to expect. I
- 18:15Speaker 2: do expect that this team, meaning the Jaguars, needs to
- 18:18Speaker 2: score at least twenty eight to win this game, maybe more.
- 18:22Speaker 2: You can see the defense holding them into the twenties.
- 18:24Speaker 2: I don't know if they're gonna hold them into the teams.
- 18:25Speaker 2: So I think we need to see the Jaguars offense
- 18:29Speaker 2: that we thought we were gonna see this season.
- 18:30Speaker 3: All right, So I think I think it's by far.
- 18:32Speaker 3: I think Buffalo and people will take this as an
- 18:35Speaker 3: offense towards Kanasit. They don't mean it that way. They
- 18:37Speaker 3: beat you with scheme. They beat you by putting wide
- 18:39Speaker 3: receivers in the pattern that you can't possibly cover, and
- 18:42Speaker 3: a quarterback that you can't possibly stop. These guys just
- 18:46Speaker 3: overpower you with a line of scrimmage. He realized they're
- 18:50Speaker 3: averaging forty one points a game the last three games,
- 18:53Speaker 3: and the Jaguars are scored forty two points in the
- 18:56Speaker 3: last three games. They're holding their opponents to only eight.
- 18:59Speaker 3: This is a game of power and they are just
- 19:03Speaker 3: giving it to people. A number that I came across.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Number one. We've talked about the Jags red zone problems.
- 19:08Speaker 3: The Jaguars have nine red zone possessions, they have four
- 19:11Speaker 3: touchdowns and three field goals nine They've scored one touchdown
- 19:14Speaker 3: in their last six trips to the red zone since
- 19:17Speaker 3: opening day. The Bills have nineteen and they've scored thirteen
- 19:21Speaker 3: touchdowns and five field goals. And they're doing it with
- 19:26Speaker 3: the power. So I say this is a much greater test.
- 19:30Speaker 2: Yeah, Miami was the flavor of the week last season.
- 19:32Speaker 3: I mean I can't sit. They get you with more
- 19:34Speaker 3: guys than you can cover.
- 19:35Speaker 2: But the Bills I think are only eleven points behind
- 19:38Speaker 2: Miami in terms of in terms of total scoring this season.
- 19:41Speaker 2: The Bills might be the flavor of the season. You know,
- 19:43Speaker 2: we said did their flavor of the week and it's TV.
- 19:46Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:46Speaker 3: I know you're really good at too, John. I just
- 19:47Speaker 3: want to point out we talked earlier about how good
- 19:49Speaker 3: a league is week to week, and we talked about
- 19:51Speaker 3: Tennessee giving up, you know, winning twenty seventy three one
- 19:54Speaker 3: week and then losing twenty seventy three. How about this
- 19:56Speaker 3: the Dolphins scored seventy and then give up fifty? Yeah, right,
- 20:00Speaker 3: how good are you week to week? They're good? But
- 20:02Speaker 3: are they as good as the Bills?
- 20:04Speaker 1: I don't know, all right, My this or that this
- 20:06Speaker 1: week is going to be part of the players returning.
- 20:08Speaker 1: If you know, we have at this point on Wednesday,
- 20:10Speaker 1: we don't know if Cam is going to start this weekend,
- 20:12Speaker 1: that's definitely a possibility. And then Zay Jones from all
- 20:15Speaker 1: accounts was expected to possibly be available for this game
- 20:18Speaker 1: against the Bills. So if you can only have one,
- 20:20Speaker 1: which one would you rather have?
- 20:21Speaker 2: Back?
- 20:21Speaker 1: First, and who's a bigger you know, has a bigger impact.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I guess right out of the gate, Cam ER's day.
- 20:31Speaker 2: It's tough because, as Brian said earlier in the show,
- 20:34Speaker 2: Zay matters a lot, and I think he gets overlook
- 20:37Speaker 2: because they have so many receivers. I'm gonna go with
- 20:40Speaker 2: Cam because the offensive line has been such a struggle.
- 20:45Speaker 2: I don't know that I love the pick, but I
- 20:47Speaker 2: think for this week, I go with Cam.
- 20:49Speaker 3: Brian, well, I'm gonna go with Cam as well. You know,
- 20:51Speaker 3: because Cam strengthens two positions at once. Right, he strengthens
- 20:55Speaker 3: left tackle, and he also strengthens left guard. And that's
- 21:00Speaker 3: not a knock on the way that that that Uh
- 21:02Speaker 3: Walker played left actle. He played well, but you're bringing
- 21:05Speaker 3: in a veteran guy and he strengthens two positions at once,
- 21:08Speaker 3: And so I'll say Cam. Though if za plays, I
- 21:10Speaker 3: mean I expect him to make a couple of critical
- 21:12Speaker 3: third down catches. So it's it's it's a toss.
- 21:15Speaker 2: Up, and that's really where they've missed him man Zay.
- 21:18Speaker 2: In the big moments, Uh Trevor, everybody talks about the
- 21:24Speaker 2: continuity and the timing that he has with Christian Kirk,
- 21:27Speaker 2: it's not that far behind his day.
- 21:28Speaker 3: Well, the catch he made on that on that drive
- 21:31Speaker 3: to set up the game tying field goal against Dallas
- 21:33Speaker 3: last year, it was just so good. It was so
- 21:36Speaker 3: indicative of how clutch he can be. And I want
- 21:39Speaker 3: to see hi back in the lineup a quoite as possible.
- 21:41Speaker 3: I know Trevor does.
- 21:42Speaker 1: I'm going to be selfish. Hopefully both of them will
- 21:44Speaker 1: come back this week and then we won't have to
- 21:45Speaker 1: choose one or the other. All right, say with us,
- 21:47Speaker 1: We'll be right back. We'll preview the rest of the
- 21:48Speaker 1: week here on Jacks Am.
- 21:54Speaker 3: And we ickle like dead tours.
- 22:00Speaker 2: And he's coming, and he's coming.
- 22:05Speaker 6: What a great read by Darius Williams. He literally jumped
- 22:09Speaker 6: around in front of the wide receiver Drake London. This
- 22:12Speaker 6: is the first interception that Darius Williams has had since
- 22:17Speaker 6: going all the way back to November of twenty twenty,
- 22:21Speaker 6: and what a big moment to get it when his
- 22:23Speaker 6: team needed is on the road at Wembley and now
- 22:26Speaker 6: they're having fun group celebrations in the Amazon.
- 22:29Speaker 3: Great job in lock room before we bought to play. No,
- 22:33Speaker 3: I know I remember that.
- 22:34Speaker 6: I said, I got the hardest celebration and he's coming
- 22:37Speaker 6: in a room, turn around, fall.
- 22:40Speaker 3: Out and to go right. That's who I said, road, No,
- 22:43Speaker 3: it's not for the kids.
- 22:47Speaker 2: Nineteen ninety five, that's what the kids did. It's for
- 22:53Speaker 2: the kids, guys.
- 22:53Speaker 3: That fun stuff.
- 22:55Speaker 2: That's cool.
- 22:55Speaker 1: Really, So we were going to look into it, do
- 22:57Speaker 1: our investigative powers. We found out Zay is the achena
- 23:00Speaker 1: of the Toy Story celebration idea. Evan Ingram apparently not
- 23:03Speaker 1: a fan, but it went overwhel with everybody else.
- 23:05Speaker 3: How could you not be a fan after watching how
- 23:07Speaker 3: good that Toy Story broadcast was? It was really good.
- 23:11Speaker 2: Yeah, it's pretty.
- 23:12Speaker 1: Cool and I love to see anything different. Anybody get
- 23:15Speaker 1: everybody else engaged and it's fun. Why not let's try
- 23:17Speaker 1: it out a little bit more.
- 23:18Speaker 3: You know, the reason they do those things is to
- 23:21Speaker 3: grab the kids attention. Right, it's such a cluttered media world.
- 23:25Speaker 3: My eighteen and nineteen year old we're talking about it,
- 23:28Speaker 3: so cookerse they grew up watching it. So I know
- 23:31Speaker 3: you said your son did too.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Oh, no doubt. And what a cool thing for Zay
- 23:36Speaker 2: to embrace it and make sure it happened. And then
- 23:38Speaker 2: now the defensive players to get into it. They really
- 23:40Speaker 2: are a bunch of kids sometimes and that's it's pretty cool.
- 23:43Speaker 1: Pretty cool. See all right, We're going to be here
- 23:44Speaker 1: for the rest of the week in England. We've got
- 23:46Speaker 1: regular media day schedule, so we'll update you in get
- 23:49Speaker 1: you ready for Sunday's game against the Bills throughout the week.
- 23:51Speaker 1: We'll see you tomorrow on Jack's Am.
