SILVER YOU MUST HAVE... Before $40 Price · SILVER / GOLD / $UFD: Surviving Global Economic Shifts | RONS BASEMENT

0:00
How much silver should you own? That's a question we get all the
0:04
time. Should you be very scared about
0:08
what's going on right now in the US economy?
0:12
We're going to give you some startling information that might
0:16
just have something to do with your job and what is going on in
0:21
the world that can tell us that we're in for brighter days for
0:26
the silver price and the gold price, You're in the right place
0:36
because today we're joined by our good friend coin shop.
0:40
Chris, we're going to talk about first, how much silver should
0:45
you own? Do we have a definitive answer
0:48
for you? You're going to find out, Chris.
0:51
Welcome to Ron's Basement. Ron, it's always good to be be
0:54
back in the basement week after week.
0:56
I love your channel, I love your viewers.
0:59
I just like to take a moment to ask everybody to like, share and
1:02
subscribe which one to get to 34,000 subscribers by February
1:06
14th. So let's show Ron some love and
1:10
I like to also put a warning out there for people.
1:12
Ron be careful of the crypto bots in the chat.
1:16
We tried to alamance do an awesome job trying to get those
1:20
out as quick as they come in. Please don't fall for the
1:22
scammers in the chats. Thank you.
1:26
Well, thank you, Chris. And you know, you're a real
1:29
important guy. I'm pretty important myself, but
1:32
the most important person is the person who's joining us today.
1:36
Right now. They might be in their living
1:38
room. Heck, they might even be in
1:39
their basement. But one thing we know for sure.
1:42
They're wondering Do I own enough silver?
1:46
Do I own enough gold? What's the exact amount of
1:50
silver down to the half oz Chris that a person should own?
1:55
Ron, nobody in this world can answer that question for
1:59
everybody out there. Some people say stack your
2:03
weight, some people say stack. You know this stack that I say
2:08
me personally, if you can well afford to do so, 10 to 15% of
2:14
every paycheck set on the side for precious metals.
2:18
And if you can't go down for that because there's no
2:21
everybody's lifestyle is different on you know, your life
2:25
save will make it different than my lifestyle.
2:27
You know, the viewers might be different than ours.
2:30
Stack what you can afford. Don't worry about anything else
2:33
to stack. That's the bottom line.
2:36
Yeah. And and you know, another,
2:38
another way to look at it too is if a person does have a lot of
2:42
disposable income, right, this, this rich person joining us
2:46
right now maybe accumulate like a year's worth of expenses,
2:52
worth of precious metals, figure out what you spend on an annual
2:55
basis and maybe save like a year or six months, whatever.
2:59
I think what it comes down to is whatever someone feels
3:03
comfortable with. The one big warning that I want
3:06
to give people though is don't go into debt.
3:09
Don't buy silver. Don't think that it's such an
3:13
urgent matter that if you don't have spare cash that you like,
3:17
buy it on your credit card or go into any type of debt to buy
3:21
silver, gold or any precious metal for that matter.
3:24
Well, look at it this way, Ron. I got customers who come into
3:27
the shop who can't really afford that much.
3:30
They come in by a couple Dimes, a couple cores on a weekly 90%,
3:35
several Dimes, 90% server cores on a weekly base.
3:38
That's all they can afford, which is fine.
3:42
You know, they're stacking something.
3:43
They're putting something away you, you know.
3:46
So there's all types of different price range people can
3:49
afford to have at one time or buy at one time or convert at
3:53
one time. Let's use the right word here.
3:57
But really, you know, you know, I I really get on these other
4:01
Youtubers to show their whole stack line, You know, I don't
4:04
think that's a good move. I think that's a people out
4:07
there saying I'm not never going to be like that person.
4:10
Well, you're probably right. But, you know, as long as you
4:13
have, you know, 6 to 18 months, you know, I go with 18 months
4:18
long. But for for expenses, Some
4:22
people may not even be able to get to that point.
4:25
But it's OK, you know, 'cause most most of us don't have
4:29
dollars. Now we're living paycheck to
4:31
paycheck. Right.
4:33
And you and you probably don't want to put all your money into
4:39
precious metals. I'm a pretty not diversified
4:43
person. I have a lot of money in mining
4:44
stocks. And you know, I I wouldn't.
4:49
I would recommend that people not put all their money into
4:52
precious metals. I'm not giving financial advice,
4:54
I'm just giving my opinion. I would recommend that before
4:59
anyone stacks precious metals that they take a good hard look
5:03
at what their debt situation is. Because if you have debt, you
5:07
know, car debt, house debt, even especially credit card debt
5:11
outstanding, I would focus on getting that paid off first
5:15
before I would focus on increasing the size of the
5:19
stack. I mean, nobody knows what's
5:21
going to happen, right? A year from now we could be
5:23
sitting here, Chris, with a big smile on our face with $85
5:27
silver, right? And it would have been a good
5:30
move to borrow money to buy silver, but the opposite of that
5:34
can happen as well. If a person has debt and
5:38
continues to buy silver and the silver price goes down, well,
5:41
guess what? That debt doesn't go away, but
5:44
the value of the silver can go down.
5:46
I don't think silver is going down, but it absolutely could.
5:51
Yes, yes, Ron it it could but in what terms in the dollar form,
5:55
you know we we're looking this in the dollar form you know but
5:59
it's still excuse me at the end of the day it's still an ounce
6:02
of silver no matter what the price is.
6:06
Right. But what I'm saying is though
6:08
the debt, if if you're if you're carrying debt while you're still
6:12
stacking silver, you're basically using borrowed money
6:16
to buy silver. That's a you know that that's a
6:18
financial fact. Yeah, and that can be a
6:21
financial nightmare too, yes. Yeah, exactly.
6:25
I mean, debt is, you know, there's that old saying, debt is
6:29
the currency of slaves. Silver is the currency of
6:33
gentlemen, and gold is the currency of royalty or the money
6:38
of royalty. However you want to say it, you
6:41
want to get rid of that debt first.
6:42
This is not a financial planning show, but I understand
6:47
mathematics and accounting very well and I know that to be the
6:51
case. And then from there, I mean, if
6:52
a person has all no debt, right, which is a wonderful place to
6:56
be, I've always been hated that. Well, then you can really do
7:01
whatever you want. You know, you can, you could put
7:04
a lot more of your money into metals, if that's what you
7:07
believe, because you don't have any debt, you don't have any
7:10
risk. You have this solid foundation
7:13
that you've built where you don't have any debt.
7:16
And from there you can pile on whatever you want, some silver,
7:19
some gold, some mining stocks, other investment opportunities.
7:22
But anyway, somehow this turned into a discussion that wasn't
7:26
supposed to be about debt. But you know, eliminating debt I
7:29
would say would be the number one thing people should do.
7:32
And then #2 Sure, stack all you want after that.
7:36
Fortuna Silver Mines is a global intermediate gold and silver
7:40
producer. Since 2005, Fortuna's best in
7:44
class management has delivered impressive growth and profits.
7:48
Fortuna's solid financial position and operational
7:52
expertise allows for performance in any precious metals price
7:57
cycle and provides a foundation from which to harvest great
8:01
profits in more favorable metals markets.
8:04
Investing in Fortuna is an investment in quality, long
8:08
term, sustainable production of in demand precious and base
8:13
metals. And you know, another thing you
8:15
need to look at too on is, you know, you've said this multiple
8:18
times on your show. Don't convert Fiat into silver
8:24
or gold if you're going to need it.
8:26
Six months, eight months down the road, you know, you know, I
8:30
mean, if you know you're going to have something coming up and
8:32
you need the cash for it now, don't use that cash to go buy
8:37
silver and gold now. Could that be the wrong move
8:40
now? Yeah.
8:41
You know, I I appreciate you bringing that up, Chris.
8:44
Thank you because that's a great point.
8:45
Like, like OK, I have no debt. I'm, you know, I, I, I'll
8:49
divulge that to our audience. I've, I've been debt free since
8:53
I was probably 26 years old. Right.
8:55
Zero debt. I hate debt.
8:57
When I buy silver now I buy it with this mindset that I'm never
9:02
going to sell it. Like I use money that I'm like,
9:05
I'm cool with just sitting on this, like in my mind
9:09
envisioning like like at some point it could be passed on to
9:15
my children and that they would be very that they'll be very
9:19
happy. It's like security or something.
9:23
I don't know. It's hard to say.
9:25
And that gets into my next point, Ron.
9:27
Like you said, you know you you're training your girls about
9:30
silver and gold and if you are going to pass it down to family
9:35
or grandkids or your kids make sure they know what the what The
9:40
thing is so they don't take into some old cranky guy coin shop
9:45
and and they're going to rip them off.
9:48
Make sure they know the value and really update that book
9:51
every at least every six months if not every quarter.
9:55
You know, you get a spreadsheet. You can change that very easily
9:58
on the computer, the value of that very quickly.
10:02
Yeah, yeah. Let me ask you a question,
10:04
Chris. Stop.
10:05
Speaking of silver, is this not the most beautiful thing you've
10:09
ever seen in your life? I'm telling you, I am genuinely
10:12
in love with this, the 10 oz Geiger Bar.
10:16
That's one of the one of the 10 on Spas I've been wanting to get
10:19
my hands on. I just can't afford it right
10:21
now. We do have some at the shop.
10:25
You know, they come in every now and then.
10:27
We don't really order them to be honest with you, but they do
10:29
come in once in a late blue moon and right now we're seeing on
10:32
two. I think it was two or three of
10:34
them now. Yeah, they are.
10:38
They are nice. And I want to mention this is
10:41
part of our Valentine's Day giveaway.
10:44
There's a link in the description of this video where
10:47
you can enter the giveaway with very explicit instructions on
10:51
how to do so. I really like the fact that this
10:53
comes. I don't know, this came from
10:54
Pinbex, our channel sponsor, Pi, MB, EXI don't know, do they all
10:59
come wrapped in in this? Like, really nice heavy plastic,
11:02
Chris. I've seen some wrapped in that
11:04
closet growing, and I've seen some aloe plastic.
11:07
This looks like it came from the factory or the refinery.
11:10
Or the that's factory sealed, yes.
11:12
Yeah. Or from factory sealed or from
11:15
Germany, as a matter of fact. What does that remind you of
11:18
when you got something really nice like that wrapped in
11:20
plastic or rubber? Does that remind you of
11:23
anything? Well, I'm not gonna go there
11:26
with you. You you're going somewhere where
11:27
I don't want. I don't know if you want to go
11:29
there. What are you talking about?
11:33
Never mind. It's a family show.
11:35
It's a family show, Ron. Well, no, what I was thinking of
11:39
is like when you go to ALDI and they've got those nice rib eye
11:42
steaks and they're, you know, they're in that.
11:44
I don't know what you were thinking of, Chris, but let's
11:46
move on. Hey, let's talk about the, let's
11:50
talk about that, how great the economy is.
11:52
Here's the fact, Jack, the last leg of the stool holding up what
11:58
the Fed is doing, holding up the US economy is employment.
12:03
Any thoughts on employment, Chris?
12:05
Well. Look, Citibank just announced
12:08
20,000 job cuts are on. Google just announced 10,000 job
12:14
layoffs. There's 30,000 jobs right there
12:16
on in a matter of. Week let me let me add let me
12:21
add a few to your list if you don't mind.
12:23
Mr. Coin shot Chris. The National Football League is
12:26
laying people off the NFL. Black Rock is laying people off.
12:31
Nike is laying people off. Intel is laying people off.
12:36
And Twitch do you know what Twitch is?
12:38
I. Have no idea.
12:40
It's something like YouTube. The gamers do Twitch.
12:44
Our friends at Twitch are laying people off as well.
12:47
How can it you know and and and how How can this economy be so
12:51
great and strong? And think about it, the big
12:55
companies that typically have the good big full time jobs,
12:59
these are probably jobs, you know, let's say are paying
13:02
between 60 and $120,000 per year.
13:05
The good big full time jobs are going away and what are these
13:09
people gonna do? Would you rather have a A90K job
13:13
at Nike or what? You know, all these job gains
13:16
we're hearing about are like people that are doing part time
13:19
work, right? Would you rather work full time
13:21
at Nike or making 90K a year? Or would you rather drive for
13:27
Uber, deliver McDonald's for DoorDash, and help your neighbor
13:33
with his landscaping company? I mean it's it's, it's, I I
13:36
think the the writings on the wall when it comes to these
13:40
employment numbers. Well, the employment number is
13:43
wrong. You and I talked to this many
13:44
months back ago that they're fraudulent.
13:47
They had you, you know, when Costco was laying off, what,
13:51
four or five months ago. And Costco pays very, very well
13:55
run. We all know that when they start
13:58
laying off and these people who used to make $2122.00 an hour
14:02
have to go work at McDonald's part time, go pick up another
14:06
job at a convenience store, they count that as two jobs.
14:10
Ron, that's not, you know, that's not right.
14:14
I mean, you know, it's supposed to be one job, but they counting
14:16
as two separate and they counting part time with no
14:19
benefits, no insurance, no nothing.
14:23
I don't. Understand.
14:23
I don't understand what you're saying.
14:25
You keep saying pot time. Is that a store like Pottery
14:27
Barn or is that your new Is that your New York accent?
14:31
Part time jobs, part time jobs. I know my main accent.
14:35
I know. I thought that was a New York
14:37
accent. No main accent, but anywho they
14:41
count that as two jobs and it's fraudulent.
14:46
Yeah, so. I mean you know your drone power
14:50
glamour Yellen needs to get they they they all need to get out of
14:52
office but who is who is how we going to fix this run it's too
14:57
late. I think the dollar it's done for
14:59
it's game over. We're going to reset very soon
15:03
when nobody knows we're going to wake up on either after a
15:08
holiday weekend on or Monday morning and everything will be
15:11
changed. Yeah, well, it it, it seems like
15:16
you bring up a great, a great point.
15:18
Because if I think back to like the tech bubble and and even the
15:22
real estate, mortgage, whatever bubble before the great
15:25
financial crisis, I was in the business world during both of
15:28
those and like during the tech bubble and I worked in the tech
15:31
field, it's like everything was great and fine.
15:34
I mean, it really was and then all of a sudden boom, it wasn't
15:38
right. Like everything was hunky, Dory
15:40
and Lala, everybody's making all this money and then, boom, it
15:44
just suddenly happened. The same thing happened during
15:46
the great financial crisis. It's like, everything's great
15:49
and then all of a sudden you can wake up and be like, wow,
15:52
everything changed and changed very quickly.
15:56
And that's what's it's gonna if we thought for the people who
16:00
can remember the financial crisis back in O 8 through 2011
16:05
and you know, people think God, 'cause it didn't affect the the
16:08
really the mainstream people, you know, they didn't have
16:12
stocks, you know, you know, anything like that, you know,
16:15
But people lost their homes, run.
16:17
And you know, the people that did happen to remember that, the
16:20
people who don't have did not don't really remember what
16:24
actually happened. There are movies out there for
16:27
people to watch. And I would really look up these
16:31
2008 movies. You know the financial crisis
16:35
now, I'm Lost awards now. But there are a couple movies
16:37
out there that will tell you exactly what happened and put in
16:42
great detail of what happened and maybe that will help your
16:47
view without some more on. Yeah, Yep, Yep.
16:50
What about you did some shopping this week for American Silver
16:54
Eagles? Is that correct, Chris?
16:55
I I shop every week for you and for your viewers.
16:58
Ron, you know I we do this every single week.
17:01
I'm happy to do it. 2024 Eagles are out.
17:04
The rated ship I got actually got two different deals.
17:09
I got rolls and monster boxes. I'll cover the rolls first with
17:11
you Ron 2 of 2024 Silver Eagles at money Metals and these these
17:19
prices were taken 1/12/24 about 5:45 PM.
17:24
So the lower money metals was six O 720 for full 2 by 20 JM
17:30
Bowen was 6/17/60 at Max was 618 even and our sponsor pin backs
17:39
was 56920 save $48.80 from the most expensive which was at Max
17:48
$48.80 Ron cheaper. So from the most expensive to
17:55
the least expensive. For one tube of 20 American
17:58
Silver Eagles, the highest price was $48.
18:02
For the exact same tube of Eagles, the highest price was
18:06
$48 higher than what you could get it for at Pembacs.
18:09
Pembacs wins again. Pembacs wins again.
18:12
Now we go to the monster boxes and I won't.
18:14
And if you if you're not sitting down, everybody please sit down
18:16
for this one monster. Box How many?
18:18
How many coins are in a monster box?
18:20
Just a hundred 500 oz On OK so money Metals came in at 14,680
18:28
dollars. JM Bowen came in at $14,940.
18:35
Pin backs came in at $14,950. Sponsor pin backs came in at
18:42
$13,780. Take the highest to the lowest.
18:49
That is 1170 dollars savings. 1000. 1100 and $70.
18:59
And how much were the rolls of Are the tubes of Eagles at
19:04
Pinbex again? 56920.
19:08
So if my mathematics are correct, if you if you're buying
19:12
an entire monster box of American Silver Eagles, you can.
19:17
If you buy it at Pinbex, you can get the same box, monster box
19:23
and an additional 2 tubes 40 coins total with the savings
19:30
that you would get over buying it from the most expensive
19:33
competitor. Is that is that accurate, Chris?
19:36
That's that's about accurate. Run 40 oz.
19:39
So why would you want to go buy it at Max JM?
19:42
Really even money metals? I mean, where you get more metal
19:48
for your money and you gain extra 43 oz on top of it, the
19:54
same place. Hello.
19:56
I mean, you know, I mean that's that's crazy.
20:01
I mean, you know, I mean, I This is why we do this.
20:03
This is not to knock these other companies out to just to your
20:06
viewers. This is to prove a point you
20:08
have to shop around. Yeah, you got to shop around,
20:12
even even if you're buying anytime, anywhere.
20:15
Shop around, right? Compare prices.
20:19
You know, I did that a long time ago.
20:22
I found that Pinbex was ultra competitive on all the products.
20:27
And you know, I trust Pinbex. But so that's what I recommend
20:31
to our viewers is, you know, do your own due diligence.
20:34
You're going to have your own experience.
20:35
I can tell you that I have received nothing but positive
20:40
feedback from Ron's basement basement dwellers regarding
20:44
their experiences with Pembecks. Chris, who do you like best, JP
20:49
or JD? I don't know who those two
20:52
people are. Jerome Powell or Jamie Dimon?
20:58
Neither are you. Now, if you asked me if you put
21:01
both of those yahoos in a ring and let them fight it out, I'm
21:06
not sure which one would win. I would not bet on that one.
21:11
Let's talk about JP Morgan Chase briefly.
21:13
This is astonishing to me. They reported $50 billion in
21:17
annual profit for 2020. Three, 50 billion.
21:21
This is the same JP Morgan who's been accused and convicted of
21:26
manipulating the precious metals prices.
21:29
But what's crazy about 50 is the biggest profit ever in the
21:33
history of the banking industry. If you think about this, the
21:37
entire market cap, the entire value of the entire silver
21:42
mining sector is 17 billion, maybe even a little bit less.
21:46
Basically JP Morgan last year made three times as much money
21:52
profit in one year as the entire value three times as the the the
21:58
entire value of the entire silver mining sector.
22:00
Is that just mind blowing or what?
22:04
That is mind blowing boggling. I mean you know, I mean Ron, you
22:08
know I don't like banks. I think most of your viewers
22:10
know that about me. I I don't like banks but we have
22:13
to deal with banks. You know all these fees that
22:16
come over the last 15 years plus you know what the heck is a
22:22
$7.49 maintenance fee that Bank of America charges.
22:27
I mean it's fees on top of fees all if you over get get
22:31
overdrawn just a little bit, we're going to hit you with a
22:33
$40 overdrawn fee. I mean it's crazy, Ron.
22:38
You know the banks have no compassion.
22:40
All they care about. They don't care about you.
22:42
They're not. The banks are not your friends.
22:44
I'm sorry, banks are not. The car salesman at car
22:47
dealerships are. No, they're not your friends
22:52
either. I mean, you, you know, you, you
22:56
have to spend your money wisely and you, you know, some people
23:01
don't know bells and checkbooks. Some people do, but even you
23:03
know, I had, we had one overdrawn fee in my life, Ron,
23:06
and I was able to get that back. But you know, you're allowed
23:10
really you're allowed to have one overdraft fee a year and
23:13
they will give it back to you if you pick up the phone and call
23:15
them. That's.
23:17
Great advice. That's great that that's great
23:20
advice. The other, the other crazy thing
23:24
regarding that $50 billion profit is that that happened
23:29
during a year where we had more bank failures from a dollar
23:35
level than we had during the worst year of the great
23:38
financial crisis. It's just, it doesn't make any
23:40
sense. I mean how, how can we have a
23:42
banking crisis and then our biggest bank makes a more
23:45
profit? I mean, come on, give me a
23:47
break. Anyhow, let's talk about the 30
23:49
day numbers, Chris. Let's see what's what's
23:51
happened. I'm gonna answer that question
23:54
first because our government lend these banks the money and
23:58
they invested and they make Billings.
23:59
That's how we that's how they they took away from the
24:01
taxpayers. They took away from you and your
24:04
viewers and me. So let's now let's get on to the
24:07
30 day numbers. They printed money.
24:11
Yeah, printed Unicorn font dust. Well they did that.
24:14
Let's let's just let me let me just make one more quick point
24:16
of that they they they they initiated an emergency program
24:21
called the BB Bank term funding program BTFP to help bail the
24:27
banks out basically to keep any more 'cause they were you know
24:31
in banks that were insolvent. That program is scheduled to end
24:35
on March 11th, which is now just two short months away, right?
24:39
And yeah, two months away 2024, just so you remember the year
24:43
we're in and the Wall Street Journal reported that the head
24:48
regulator for the Fed basically came out last week and and and
24:52
heavily insinuated that they were going to terminate that
24:55
program. So it'll be interesting to see
24:57
how the banks do when their their little crutch is taken
25:02
away. Well, let's see if they end the
25:04
program first Ron, right, right. So anyways, I could say more.
25:10
You know, I will say this, Ron, you know, if you and I went to
25:12
the casino, if you and I went to the Vegas and we each lost $2000
25:17
and we didn't have that money to lose, are we going to be able to
25:19
call the federal government? I'm going to say, hey Jerome,
25:22
hey grandma, are you yelling? I I lost $2000 at at Vegas.
25:26
Can I get my money back please? That won't happen, Ron, but the
25:30
banks can do it. Yeah, yeah.
25:33
And then get and get A and then get a bigger bonus on top of it.
25:36
What happened in the last 30 days?
25:39
Mr. Chris? Silver was actually up, believe
25:42
it or not, up 34 cents or up 1.49%.
25:47
Gold was up $60.40 or up three 3.03% platinum took a little bit
25:55
of a hit. The last 30 days are on it was
25:57
down $14.40 or down 1.55%. Bitcoin is up, but not as up as
26:05
it was the last couple weeks. We talked about it, it was up
26:08
897 O 8 or up 2.16% oil. I've been ramping on oil for a
26:16
month for weeks now. With year on, oil is finally up
26:19
$4.15 a barrel or up 6.05%. Something to keep your eyes on
26:27
everybody. It's oil.
26:28
Oil runs everything silver to gold ratios 87.91.
26:36
Which demonstrates how undervalued silver is that it
26:40
would take you almost 90 ounces of silver to acquire just one
26:45
measly ounce of gold. That's crazy.
26:49
That's, you know, I mean we've seen the ratio higher than this
26:53
wrong. But you you know I'm still I'm
26:56
not touching gold right now. I'm I not telling anybody what
26:59
to do. But me personally, I'm all
27:02
silver right now. Yeah, yeah.
27:04
I've always been more of a silver guy myself, although I do
27:06
own way too much too many shares of gold mining stocks.
27:12
Chris, I want to say thank you on behalf of myself, this
27:15
