Iranians fear continued repression after Trump’s midterm setback
Just hours after the U.S. midterm election results delivered a crushing defeat for the Republican Party, pro-regime crowds in Tehran set fire to a giant banner depicting Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff, and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Iranian officials celebrated the Republican losses, portraying them as a rejection of Trump’s war against Iran.
