- 0:57[SPEAKER_00]: It just feels like we have done so much.
- 1:01[SPEAKER_00]: prepping and gearing up for this season.
- 1:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's kind of surreal that we are already here.
- 1:07[SPEAKER_00]: Now, I am recording this podcast a little earlier in the week than I normally would because we don't have storylines that we need to wait to unfold like we will later in the season.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: And to one of the day morning for me, you guys are going to catch this on Thursday or later.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: So the season hasn't actually kicked off yet.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: So tonight, Seahawks Patriots, I don't know how that one goes.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: We will find out later, but you guys will know by the time you watch this.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm so pumped to be here doing this again, and
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: You know, let me know in the comments as we go along, drop your predictions for the game, scores, outcomes, statlines, there's anything that you think is going to happen for this game.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_00]: And I'll give you the preview, my breakdown of what to expect in week one coming up next.
- 1:52[SPEAKER_00]: Before I do make sure you guys are going to join the dogs.com.
- 1:54[SPEAKER_00]: Get in there, get into the private discord and hang out with everybody.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: Get to meet the awesome people and the diehard Browns fans community.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: We've got going on at meet or join the dogs.com.
- 2:04[SPEAKER_00]: do that.
- 2:05[SPEAKER_00]: Get in there for Sunday game day.
- 2:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's where you want to be.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_00]: You want to hang out with like-minded Browns fans so that you can celebrate, commiserate, complain, just throw out some whatever you're thinking, your thoughts.
- 2:17[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, it's especially if you've got nobody to watch the game with and you're looking for a tight-knit community to hang out and watch the game.
- 2:25[SPEAKER_00]: That's the place to be joined the dogs dot com.
- 2:27[SPEAKER_00]: Make sure you guys get in there before Sunday.
- 2:30[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: That's about enough of that.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: There's really no news or anything to dive into for the week.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: So I'll go through this preview and then I do have a couple voice mails here at the end and I am actually going to make myself a note.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Because you guys, you guys know what I normally do.
- 2:46[SPEAKER_00]: I forget.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: I get to the end.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: I forget to do the voice mail.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: So if we don't do voice mail today, you guys know I actually didn't even look at my note.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: but it is written.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: All right, let's talk about this.
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: So Cleveland Browns head down to Jacksonville to face the Jaguiers again, Sunday, one PME stirred.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguiers are currently eight and a half point favorites.
- 3:06[SPEAKER_00]: The overunder for this game is just 40.5 and the Browns are plus 350 to win the game.
- 3:13[SPEAKER_00]: Cleveland, so I looked, I looked this up for you guys is the second largest underdog in week one, the only team.
- 3:22[SPEAKER_00]: with a bigger point differential that cardinals nine and a half point dogs against the chargers.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: So the cardinals are at nine and a half in the Browns are at eight and a half.
- 3:32[SPEAKER_00]: So as far as Las Vegas is concerned, the Browns are one of the worst bets in week one.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: So why?
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: Why is that the case?
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: and we're going to talk about it.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: First of all, we're going to face a team that was a playoff team a year ago.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: The Jacksonville Jaguars went 134 last year.
- 3:50[SPEAKER_00]: They won the AFC South scored 27.9 points per game.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: This is a legitimate AFC contender.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: So let's, I got notes here.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: I'm gonna go through for you guys, Jacksonville.
- 4:03[SPEAKER_00]: The more proven team, Cleveland, their path to an upset in this game.
- 4:08[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna have to be built on the defense, turning this into one of those ugly games.
- 4:13[SPEAKER_00]: where it's a low scoring, grind it out kind of game and you have to make sure to Sean Watson doesn't have to go out there and win or lead this team or this offense in a shootout.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's what you don't want.
- 4:24[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want Jacksonville getting hot and putting up a bunch of points because if we get behind early,
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: we're probably going to stay behind.
- 4:30[SPEAKER_00]: I hate to say that.
- 4:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to be brutally honest with you guys about my prospects for this game and anything negative I say here today guys just understand.
- 4:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm being honest with you and I hope I'm wrong.
- 4:42[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, I never predict the Browns to lose his game or look bad in a game and hope that I'm right just to be right.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_00]: I hope they prove me freaking wrong.
- 4:51[SPEAKER_00]: in anything that I'm not optimistic about, but we'll continue to go through here.
- 4:55[SPEAKER_00]: So again, Jaguar has finished 13 and 4.
- 4:59[SPEAKER_00]: Cleveland's offense on the complete other end of the spectrum finished 31st in scoring end 30th in total yardage, just a season to go now.
- 5:07[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously we've got a whole new coaching staff, new offensive players, different system.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: We'll get into that.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: So a big difference though for this, Jacksonville.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: They really didn't change much of their starting lineup.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_00]: Based on their initial depth chart, third round rookie left guard and manual pregnant on out of Oregon, he looks to be the only rookie starting for the Jaguars on Sunday.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: now players that they lost from last year running back this is probably the biggest one in the biggest area we're going to focus on here for the show Travis HN is gone yes it's apparently you pronounce it Travis HN not ETN so I'm going to try to abide by the new pronunciation rules so
- 5:51[SPEAKER_00]: Again, this is probably the most notable offensive departure for the Jaguars.
- 5:55[SPEAKER_00]: A Chan left for New Orleans.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's down there with the Saints.
- 5:58[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see him later in the season.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville, instead replacing him with more of a committee approach, you've got second year, speedster, we're not really sure how this running back room and the committee is going to break down, but it's bashed all tootin.
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: And then they got Chris Rodrigas signed over from Washington last year.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a significant change because A Chan was not just a runner for them.
- 6:21[SPEAKER_00]: He caught 36 passes last year, scored six receiving touchdown.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: So he was a threat through the air that the Browns would have had to account for that.
- 6:28[SPEAKER_00]: We're not sure if either toton or Rodriguez is going to be that type of player for the J. Guires offense.
- 6:34[SPEAKER_00]: Lineback or Devon Lloyd, potentially their biggest defensive lost.
- 6:37[SPEAKER_00]: He left for the Panthers.
- 6:39[SPEAKER_00]: Again, well, I guess we'll see him in week three.
- 6:42[SPEAKER_00]: And that created some question, Marcelan's side, and I don't know all of these names that well, but I think it's FOIA, Oluicon, at Linebacker for them, Jacksonville, currently lists Ventral, Miller, or Branson Combs at the other primary linebacker spot.
- 6:55[SPEAKER_00]: So that's an area that I would circle, maybe for the Cleveland Browns to attack, and that that short area that middle of the field where the Linebacker's arch is not really sure about that unit for the Jaguars right now.
- 7:06[SPEAKER_00]: So that's like,
- 7:08[SPEAKER_00]: Checkdowns to Quinshawn Judkins, Harold Fan and Junior, and that underneath passing game case.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: He concepts the own light thrive here.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: We will see what the Browns decide to game plan for the Jaguars, another departure for the Jaguars, Greg Newsome.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, familiar to Browns fans, Newsome is now this season with the Giants, and I just want to take a second to talk about a little bit of that history with the Jaguars and Browns.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: the Browns for all intents and purposes, totally, totally screwed the Jaguars in two trays last year.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: Big time, I mean, the trade, and we'll see how Travis Hunter looks here in year two, but the whole unit core in this guy can play receiver, elite receiver, elite corner, he's gonna be on both sides of the ball.
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: That does not seem to be the case considering I believe I saw today that Travis Hunter is of unofficially listed on the Depth Chart for Sunday as the wide receiver for,
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think it was wide receiver four, corner back one.
- 8:06[SPEAKER_00]: So he is going to primarily be playing corner back, but the browser able to get like a quarter back haul out of their trade from two to five with the J-Wires last year.
- 8:18[SPEAKER_00]: for Travis Hunter, which looking back now because thanks to that is why we have Mason Graham and Quinn Shonjutkins and Dylan Samson.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: And Carson Swesinger, all these guys, we were able to get in the draft last year, which thank you, Jacksonville for that one.
- 8:35[SPEAKER_00]: And then we traded great.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't remember the exact trade, but it essentially sent new some to Jacksonville brought Tyson Campbell here.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_00]: Tyson Campbell is a clear, obvious upgrade.
- 8:45[SPEAKER_00]: over Greg Newsom.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: We're really excited about year two here for Tyson Campbell.
- 8:48[SPEAKER_00]: But so it's Campbell's first game against Jacksonville after leaving and in all this stuff going back to the the Jaguars, other departures, Naomi Brown, Wydersey, where you get Tim Patrick, Emmanuel Ogba,
- 9:01[SPEAKER_00]: form a brown to one, smooth, mason, smith, and Andre, wingard.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: Biggest additions, changes to the Jaguars there.
- 9:08[SPEAKER_00]: There isn't one giant veteran acquisition because Jacksonville, again, they chose and were able to maintain continuity, mostly across the starting line up again, and then a pregnant on the left guard rookie third round pick, already obviously won that starting left guard spot.
- 9:23[SPEAKER_00]: This could be a really good matchup in this game because you could potentially have an advantage with nice and grand Malik Collins playing opposite on that defensive line from this rookie guard.
- 9:35[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe try to collapse Trevor Lawrence's pocket from the inside a little bit easier this way.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: We'll see.
- 9:39[SPEAKER_00]: But I was high on pregnant on coming out of Oregon last year as a prospect.
- 9:44[SPEAKER_00]: So obviously he won the starting job means he's no slouch.
- 9:47[SPEAKER_00]: But again, rookie first game could definitely be an area of the Browns look to exploit
- 9:54[SPEAKER_00]: defense of tackle Albert Regis is a third round pick for them big three hundred seventeen pound interior defender Should rotate behind the Vaughan Hamilton for them and tight in Nate Borkutcher.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: This was a surprise second round pick If you guys remember he's currently listed behind Brendan Strange who just got paid down there in Jacksonville
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: but they still invested heavily in the second round pick 56 overall for Nate Borkeacher and they also added Ruke Aurora, Aurora, Aurora, I don't know how to say this guy's name.
- 10:25[SPEAKER_00]: I've never been able to pronounce it.
- 10:27[SPEAKER_00]: That was in the Mason Smith trade and they drafted St. Jalen Husky Edge Wesley Williams and a bunch of other developmental players but again as far as they're starters and the guys were primarily going to be seeing during the game a lot of the same.
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: from that playoff 13 and 4 playoff team last year.
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: So the big things to watch for this game, the Jaguars offense, the driving engine for this thing is Trevor Lawrence.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, he is
- 10:54[SPEAKER_00]: It's a dramatically different conversation than we were having about Trevor Lawrence even a year ago.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, he accounted for a franchise record.
- 11:01[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't realize this last year.
- 11:03[SPEAKER_00]: 38 touchdowns in 2025.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: J.Y.S.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: franchise record 29 passing a nine on the ground.
- 11:09[SPEAKER_00]: More importantly, he caught fire late in the season.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: They finished the regular season on an eight game winning streak Trevor Lawrence accounted for 24 touchdowns over that eight game stretch.
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: Can Cleveland make Trevor Lawrence look more like the inconsistent quarterback from earlier in his career who didn't really live up to the first round hype, you know, greatest prospect generational guy since Andrew Locke out of yada.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: The guy who emerged last season under first time had coach Liam Cohen looked much more like that hyped up number one overall pick from whatever year he was drafted 21 or whatever was.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 11:49[SPEAKER_00]: Who, what's the story for the check-wires?
- 11:51[SPEAKER_00]: Was last year a one-off, you know, they, they caught fire with this new head coach and the quarterback had a great season.
- 11:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's what the Browns did in 2020, in 2020.
- 12:00[SPEAKER_00]: New head coach, caught fire, made the playoffs look great, make a may-fear-fear-he had to feel it had a career year all this stuff.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then, you know, 2021 came around and it wasn't as good.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: So, is there going to be a drop-off or are they picking up right where they left off?
- 12:15[SPEAKER_00]: Either way, Cleveland cannot let Trevor Lawrence get comfortable, cannot let him get into his groove because this is a dangerous wide receiver course, so we talked about how the running back situations a little bit shaky for the Jaguars on offense, but man, receiver wise.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Brian Thomas Jr. First round rookie from two seasons ago who led all rookies in receiving that year just absolutely blew up, but that was also with Mac Jones.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: When Trevor Lawrence was hurt, the connection between Brian Thomas and Trevor Lawrence really hasn't been there but they've also got Jacobi Myers and they've got Parker Washington who might be their wide receiver one.
- 12:53[SPEAKER_00]: You've got all three of these guys on the field together with Travis Hunter, obviously coming in and rotating in with those guys.
- 13:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's a pretty dangerous wide receiver court, honestly, and there's no obvious alpha wide receiver one that you just eliminate this guy and you're taking away a big part of their offense.
- 13:15[SPEAKER_00]: All three of these guys, and if you throw Hunter in, all four of these guys can hurt you.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: in the passing game last season just some numbers so you guys kind of kind of see this Parker Washington this was his last year was his emergence season 58 catches 847 yards five touchdowns BTJ had 48 for 707 and 2
- 13:34[SPEAKER_00]: Bretton Strange, who we're not even talking about yet in the receiving game 46 catches, 540 yards and three touchdowns.
- 13:40[SPEAKER_00]: Jacobi Myers came over and that was he traded or did they cut him.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think he was traded over from the Raiders 42 catches, 483 yards, three touchdowns.
- 13:49[SPEAKER_00]: So he almost had 500 yards last year, Travis Hunter has a rookie just 28 catches for 298 and one.
- 13:54[SPEAKER_00]: He also missed a lot of time with an injury last year too, and didn't play a whole lot of offence.
- 13:58[SPEAKER_00]: So that's a,
- 14:02[SPEAKER_00]: puts our wide receiver core from last year to shame, let's just put it that way, because it was pretty rough for the Browns.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_00]: That is a very deep group for the Jaguires, and it's not just like a one-man passing attack or they've got a couple of guys you gotta worry about, no, man, you gotta worry about all of these dudes, all of them.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_00]: So their offensive strength here, Lawrence, plus the receiving depth, plus the continuity just across the board, they're lying and everything.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: Liam Cohen,
- 14:27[SPEAKER_00]: He's got a quarterback here who finally appeared to put everything together, multiple receivers who can win different ways in a good tight end with Brent and Strange, second round pick and board-cature like they've got players, playmakers.
- 14:38[SPEAKER_00]: They scored 474 points last season, 27.9 per game, that was the sixth most in the NFL.
- 14:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's probably the single biggest mismatch on paper, Jacksonville's established offense.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: against Cleveland's completely revamped team in a way.
- 14:58[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, the defense, and we'll get to the brownside the ball here in a minute.
- 15:01[SPEAKER_00]: But our defense is not the same as it was last year.
- 15:05[SPEAKER_00]: For better or worse, we'll talk about it.
- 15:08[SPEAKER_00]: What are the weaknesses for the Jaguars on offense?
- 15:11[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you got to look at Emmanuel Pregnant though.
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: The only rookie again starting across this entire team at left guard.
- 15:20[SPEAKER_00]: See if there's something you can exploit there.
- 15:23[SPEAKER_00]: It's his NFL debut.
- 15:24[SPEAKER_00]: That's an obvious target.
- 15:25[SPEAKER_00]: They're running back situation again much less proven without a chance on the team.
- 15:30[SPEAKER_00]: This two-in-rod regas.
- 15:31[SPEAKER_00]: I
- 15:32[SPEAKER_00]: out.
- 15:33[SPEAKER_00]: If the Browns can't allow that to dictate the game.
- 15:35[SPEAKER_00]: You've got to be able to, if you can shut down the run game and make those guys a non-factor, just make this a one-dimensional offense for Jacksonville in week one on defense.
- 15:48[SPEAKER_00]: Proof, prove you can run the ball against our stout defensive interior.
- 15:53[SPEAKER_00]: We hope it's stout.
- 15:54[SPEAKER_00]: You know, bringing Jared Verso over here, great run defender.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: You got Malate Collins back healthy, Mason Graham and New Year too.
- 16:01[SPEAKER_00]: shut down this run, and then play to stop Trevor Lawrence and the explosive passing game first and foremost.
- 16:07[SPEAKER_00]: So on defense for Jacksonville, okay.
- 16:11[SPEAKER_00]: This is where things are going to get a little hairy and this is where we're going to be talking about this eight and a half point underdog for the Cleveland Browns.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: The scariest part of the Jaguar's defense is their edge players.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Heinz Allen plus Trayvon Walker.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: That is a rough week, one assignment for both of our tackles, particularly the rookie Spencer Final making his NFL debut.
- 16:34[SPEAKER_00]: At left tackle now, obviously he's going up against Jared Vs all summer, so he's been put to the fire and he's passed the test and he's earned the starting spot.
- 16:45[SPEAKER_00]: This is a full game now, though, of some very intense past rush coming from the Jacksonville defense.
- 16:56[SPEAKER_00]: This episode is sponsored by my bookie.

- 19:03[SPEAKER_00]: Fano V. Josh Heinz Allen.
- 19:06[SPEAKER_00]: If Fano struggles and Watson starts feeling pressure immediately in the pocket, we've seen what happens.
- 19:12[SPEAKER_00]: We could have some big issues sustaining drives.
- 19:15[SPEAKER_00]: We get the happy feet.
- 19:16[SPEAKER_00]: We get the panic under pressure.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_00]: We get the running into sacks, just hurry up and chuck in the bowl into the dirt.
- 19:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's the kind of crap you're going to see.
- 19:23[SPEAKER_00]: From to Sean Watson, if the pressure starts to get there quickly now, if that you can fend off the pressure for two seconds or so and give him a chance to plan to speed go through a progression maybe and then then we might be okay.
- 19:37[SPEAKER_00]: get got to hold off that pressure coming from these guys.
- 19:41[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they've also got Eric Armstrong's set on the interior.
- 19:44[SPEAKER_00]: So their defensive line is very, very good.
- 19:48[SPEAKER_00]: Um, their, the veteran middle of their defense.
- 19:51[SPEAKER_00]: It's FOIA, Aloha Khan, uh, one of their, you know, defensive leaders, Jordan Lewis gives them that proven veteran out in the second dairy.
- 20:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville has, uh, named both of these guys captains this season.
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: Along with Josh Heinz Allen.
- 20:05[SPEAKER_00]: So like, the,
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: The big time leaders on this team are on that defensive side of the ball for the jag wires and unfortunately, it's our offensive side of the ball that has been completely reshaped reformed and is the biggest question mark unit on this team.
- 20:22[SPEAKER_00]: The wild card will talk about him here.
- 20:25[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, I've mentioned him already a little bit, but it's Travis Hunter.
- 20:28[SPEAKER_00]: Travis Hunter, the guy who was talked about as being the Browns number two overall pig last year in 2025, they ended up trading back with the Jaguars who came up to get him.
- 20:38[SPEAKER_00]: Second year guy here out of Colorado, should or Sanders former teammate, all that stuff, like I said earlier.
- 20:45[SPEAKER_00]: He is officially listed as the starting corner back one and second team, wide receiver, I think like I said, wide receiver four behind those other three guys.
- 20:56[SPEAKER_00]: So from a workload standpoint, it's going to be interesting to see how Jackson go to sides to deploy him, especially just here in week one.
- 21:02[SPEAKER_00]: You don't want to burn the kid out by by doing too much right out of the gate, especially in a home game, where you're favored by over a touchdown.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll see how Travis Hunter gets used in this game from their perspective.
- 21:20[SPEAKER_00]: Do you intentionally attack, or no, I'm sorry, from Cleveland's perspective, do we intentionally attack Travis Hunter and try to make them decide, you know, okay, how much of the two way football is actually going to happen for Hunter here in this game.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 21:35[SPEAKER_00]: I didn't watch a ton of Jacksonville games last year.
- 21:40[SPEAKER_00]: I just know they were really good.
- 21:42[SPEAKER_00]: And I know Hunter missed quite a bit of time as a rookie.
- 21:45[SPEAKER_00]: So it'll be, and that's going to be one match up that I'm, I'll be very, very curious to see how it goes.
- 21:52[SPEAKER_00]: It'll be Travis Hunter, you know, and that second dairy against our young guys, Casey Boston, Isaiah Bond.
- 21:59[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you got Jerry Judy as the veteran on that wide receiver court, but
- 22:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, there's there's there's definitely matchups in this game that are going to be very intriguing to watch weaknesses on defense for the Jaguars.
- 22:14[SPEAKER_00]: Where should Cleveland focus to attack this defense?
- 22:17[SPEAKER_00]: So again, linebacker position after Devon Lloyd.
- 22:21[SPEAKER_00]: Lua Khan is good.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_00]: The other spot.
- 22:24[SPEAKER_00]: Much less settled.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_00]: Ventral Miller.
- 22:26[SPEAKER_00]: Branson combs.
- 22:28[SPEAKER_00]: Those guys are literally listed on the Dept chart on official Dept chart, has co-starters to me that just screams, get Quinn Sean Judd comes the ball out of the backfield against these linebackers, exploit these mismatches, Harold Fanon Jr. Casey Concepcion and these short screen area game right around the line just screams, these linebackers can't hang with Quinn Sean and Fanon and Casey play action, intermediate middle of the field.
- 22:53[SPEAKER_00]: That could be where the Browns live in the first game here in Todd Munkins offense.
- 22:58[SPEAKER_00]: secondary depth, a weakness for the Jaguars, much as it is a weakness for the Browns.
- 23:04[SPEAKER_00]: The starters, they're not necessarily bad, just like with the Browns.
- 23:07[SPEAKER_00]: You got Travis Hunter, Monteric Brown, Jordan Lewis, Eric Murray, Antonio Johnson, but outside of Hunters upside as a really good, potentially a really good cornerback.
- 23:16[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not terrified of that group.
- 23:20[SPEAKER_00]: I'd really like to see Casey concepcion.
- 23:23[SPEAKER_00]: and how the Browns are going to move him around the formation because I know they're going to.
- 23:26[SPEAKER_00]: We already saw it in the preseason game and it's been talked about endlessly throughout camp.
- 23:31[SPEAKER_00]: That is what they're going to do.
- 23:32[SPEAKER_00]: Move him around the formation.
- 23:34[SPEAKER_00]: Find those mismatches.
- 23:35[SPEAKER_00]: I feel much more confident and Todd Munkin being able to utilize motion and formation no mismatch and advantages than I ever was with Kevin Stephansky, especially the last two years.
- 23:50[SPEAKER_00]: It felt like
- 23:52[SPEAKER_00]: If we were outmatched, he wasn't going to do anything to adjust.
- 23:56[SPEAKER_00]: I don't feel that bad about Todd Muck and I think it's going to be a lot better.
- 24:01[SPEAKER_00]: So we need to make their Edge players defend our run game, can't let Josh Hines Allen or Trayvon Walker in these obvious past-rush opportunities.
- 24:12[SPEAKER_00]: We've got to avoid the freaking penalties,
- 24:16[SPEAKER_00]: A pre-snap crap that puts us in, you know, first in 20 or second and eight, just this stuff that sets a drive back from the jump because if you're letting these really good edge rusher's pin their ears back and come at this new offensive line that doesn't have a lot of chemistry that's got a rookie at left tackle like it, the Sean Watson obviously cannot handle pressure in the pocket, that's where things could get rough.
- 24:44[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: So, I expect to see a heavy dose of Quincyan Judd, because early in this game, you've got to use Harold Fanon as a block or motion player, stay out of those, like I said, those third and eighths, those third and longs.
- 24:58[SPEAKER_00]: That's what's going to kill us in this game on offense.
- 25:01[SPEAKER_00]: Now, the Browns offense against the Jacksonville defense.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: This entire game will come down to a really big unknown here.
- 25:10[SPEAKER_00]: And if I alluded to what I think about it, obviously, you guys know what I think, but what version of Deshawn Watson still exists in 2026, okay?
- 25:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now he didn't play obviously last year in 2025 our offense, the numbers across the board for the season awful, just putrid bottom of the league, 31st and points 30th and yards 30th and passing yards 27th and rushing yards 30 seconds in scoring percentage per drive.
- 25:38[SPEAKER_00]: He can't get any worse than dead last.
- 25:41[SPEAKER_00]: Now we've got a new head coach.
- 25:42[SPEAKER_00]: We've got a new offensive system, a new offensive line, new skill players.
- 25:46[SPEAKER_00]: and Watson is making his first regular season start in 694 days.
- 25:55[SPEAKER_00]: talked about this a lot the last time we did this, the last time we saw something like this.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_00]: 2022, he came out, I think it was December 4th week, whatever that was.
- 26:04[SPEAKER_00]: After the 11 games suspension, it was 700 days on the dot, since the last time to Sean Watson played against an NFL starting NFL defense, and it was the Houston Texans his former team, which was an interesting matchup.
- 26:18[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, in the Browns one that game, 27 to, was the 2014, I think, was the score.
- 26:23[SPEAKER_00]: Watson had a pretty abysmal game, like 54% completion rate, 130 yards, no touchdowns, threw a pick.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_00]: Browns were still able to win.
- 26:32[SPEAKER_00]: That was 2023.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_00]: Our defense was absolutely dominating opponents.
- 26:37[SPEAKER_00]: And, oh, I'm sorry, 2022, 2022.
- 26:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm getting ahead of myself.
- 26:41[SPEAKER_00]: That was 2022.
- 26:42[SPEAKER_00]: I guess I still would have been Joe Woods.
- 26:47[SPEAKER_00]: But still, we were able to come out and win that game, and I had people point this out to me on social media other day, they were like, well, you know, the Browns won that one with the Sean Watson playing bad.
- 26:58[SPEAKER_00]: They can win this one.
- 27:00[SPEAKER_00]: The 22 Houston Texans were a little bit different than the 2026 Jacksonville Jaguars, okay?
- 27:07[SPEAKER_00]: Because if you remember that 2022 Texans team went on to have the number two overall pick to get CJ Strahd, the following season.
- 27:14[SPEAKER_00]: So they were bad.
- 27:16[SPEAKER_00]: They sucked.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville does not suck.
- 27:19[SPEAKER_00]: They do not suck.
- 27:21[SPEAKER_00]: What are the browns offensive strengths heading into this game?
- 27:25[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, running back Quinshawn Judd can should be the foundation of the offensive scheme, of the plan, of what we intend to establish here in this game.
- 27:37[SPEAKER_00]: Our wide receiver depth,
- 27:40[SPEAKER_00]: was not a strength to start the season last year.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: Is a strength now this season.
- 27:44[SPEAKER_00]: You got the rookie's KC in Denzel.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: And then you got Jerry Judy with Isaiah Bond.
- 27:50[SPEAKER_00]: And I do think that Wallace, why?
- 27:56[SPEAKER_00]: Tillon, Tillon, how do you say his name?
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: I keep getting Yoda for this in the comments of my short videos.
- 28:00[SPEAKER_00]: Tillon Wallace,
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think that he's a little bit underrated as to what he can add complimentary role.
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not talking big like stud numbers or anything, but as a complimentary veteran wide receiver, I think we're kind of overlooking what Thailand Wallace can be for the Browns this season.
- 28:18[SPEAKER_00]: So I really like having him out there, obviously you got Malachi Corley.
- 28:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's a good receiver room for once.
- 28:24[SPEAKER_00]: In Cleveland, obviously Harrell fan and junior should be a major matchup, mismatch weapon in the offense at the tight end position, moving him around the formation, the problem at the tight end spot of who the hell's playing behind him.
- 28:36[SPEAKER_00]: That's the issue, you get Blake White Heart, and then you've got seventh round rookie Carson Ryan.
- 28:42[SPEAKER_00]: So the tight end position for the Browns is definitely a major weakness on the offense.
- 28:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I know Harrell fan and junior is stud.
- 28:51[SPEAKER_00]: but the position in total, not good.
- 28:55[SPEAKER_00]: Very weak for the Browns.
- 28:56[SPEAKER_00]: You've got this new offensive line, let's talk about it.
- 28:59[SPEAKER_00]: So the starting offensive line, we presume.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: for Sunday.
- 29:03[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, a right guard still has not officially been decided upon as of this recording.
- 29:10[SPEAKER_00]: But you've got Spencer Fondo, the rookie, ninth overall pick out a Utah will be your left tackles.
- 29:17[SPEAKER_00]: Ion, Johnson, your big free agent acquisition coming over from the Chargers will be your left guard, Elkton Jenkins, your other big free agent acquisition.
- 29:26[SPEAKER_00]: At center, coming over from the Packers, Tevin Jenkins, who is the only return guy who split reps last year toward the end of the season with Wyatt Teller at the right guard spot, and then if it's not Tevin Jenkins, it will be then third round rookie out of Florida.
- 29:43[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Barber, but I don't anticipate Austin Barber getting the nod as a third round rookie in week one.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_00]: Now, do I think Tevin Jenkins starts a right-guard all year?
- 29:53[SPEAKER_00]: Hell no, I do not think that at all.
- 29:56[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Barber will be starting at right-guards sometime this season.
- 30:00[SPEAKER_00]: Tevin Jenkins, I got nothing against the guy.
- 30:03[SPEAKER_00]: I think he plays well enough when he's there.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_00]: but it's when he's there.
- 30:08[SPEAKER_00]: That's the issue.
- 30:09[SPEAKER_00]: Do it's never healthy.
- 30:10[SPEAKER_00]: Um, just is what it is.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to miss time.
- 30:12[SPEAKER_00]: I guarantee you promise you, book it.
- 30:15[SPEAKER_00]: Heaven Jenkins will miss time.
- 30:16[SPEAKER_00]: Austin Barbara will get opportunities at right guard this season.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_00]: And then you've got Titus Howard who we traded for.
- 30:23[SPEAKER_00]: I believe it's a fifth round pick coming over from the Houston Texans.
- 30:27[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 30:29[SPEAKER_00]: How good can this offensive line be?
- 30:31[SPEAKER_00]: That is the thing.
- 30:32[SPEAKER_00]: We have talked about it for months on this show, months, Justin's biggest fear.
- 30:37[SPEAKER_00]: Justin's biggest fear for this Browns team is the offensive line.
- 30:41[SPEAKER_00]: We are concerned.
- 30:43[SPEAKER_00]: Now, will it be better than last year?
- 30:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, that I can confidently tell you, it will be better than last year.
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know why?
- 30:49[SPEAKER_00]: Because I just looked at it today.
- 30:53[SPEAKER_00]: Absolutely zero, zero of the Browns,
- 30:58[SPEAKER_00]: Offensive Lyman who were in the starting rotation will call it from last season, zero of them are starting anywhere in the NFL this season.
- 31:09[SPEAKER_00]: That's what our offensive line consisted of last year.
- 31:12[SPEAKER_00]: It was always, you know, you got five starters.
- 31:15[SPEAKER_00]: Now, it varied from week to week, who those starters were.
- 31:18[SPEAKER_00]: But absolutely, none of those starters from last year are starting this season.
- 31:23[SPEAKER_00]: DeWan Jones started last year at left tackle.
- 31:26[SPEAKER_00]: He is a backup.
- 31:28[SPEAKER_00]: You've got Joel Betonio, left guard last year.
- 31:31[SPEAKER_00]: He has retired.
- 31:33[SPEAKER_00]: Ethan Posick just got named the backup center in Baltimore.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_00]: a white teller is the backup right guard in Houston, and then Jack Conclin obviously is out of the league.
- 31:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's not playing for anybody.
- 31:45[SPEAKER_00]: Cam Robinson came over to play left tackle.
- 31:48[SPEAKER_00]: We traded for him last year.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_00]: He's out of the league, not playing for anybody right now.
- 31:51[SPEAKER_00]: And then KT Leviston, who we were trying to fit in at left tackle, right tackle, please just be able to play something competent.
- 31:57[SPEAKER_00]: He's on our practice squad.
- 31:59[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, our offensive line will be better than it was last year.
- 32:04[SPEAKER_00]: But how much better that's the question because of the offensive line can be significantly better one of the top well let's call it a top half of the league like a top 16 team or 16 offensive line this year our offense could really probably do some stuff if they're bottom 16 you know in that 20 21 22 23 range or something like that we'll see we'll see how it goes and the issue is
- 32:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's week one that we're talking about right now.
- 32:34[SPEAKER_00]: So we'll be the first time the starting five, whoever it ends up being, which I think it'll be seven Jenkins, that starting five has never played together.
- 32:44[SPEAKER_00]: At any point, against an opponent's first string defense.
- 32:48[SPEAKER_00]: Ever.
- 32:49[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, they went out there and took the field to open the preseason game one against the bears, that was not the bear starting defense on the opposite side of the ball.
- 32:58[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to take some time.
- 32:59[SPEAKER_00]: I anticipate miscommunication problems, formation problems, timing problems, cadence problems.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_00]: I know this was a big thing, but you know, it cadence, cadence, cadence, and all this stuff during training camp.
- 33:12[SPEAKER_00]: There's going to be issues.
- 33:14[SPEAKER_00]: These guys have never played together.
- 33:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to take some time to gel to become a cohesive unit.
- 33:20[SPEAKER_00]: And the question is just how long does that take?
- 33:24[SPEAKER_00]: And unfortunately, we don't get a cupcake matchup to get things rolling in week one.
- 33:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a tough defensive line that these guys are going against.
- 33:34[SPEAKER_00]: So we will see how quickly can everything come together.
- 33:37[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe I'm being too pessimistic.
- 33:39[SPEAKER_00]: You guys think it comes together here in week one.
- 33:40[SPEAKER_00]: And we see the upside of this offensive line.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to take a few weeks.
- 33:44[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe the first quarter of the season to really see things start to gel.
- 33:47[SPEAKER_00]: It's why I'm a little,
- 33:50[SPEAKER_00]: Pumping the brakes a little bit on these first four games through that there's a night game at home against the Steelers, but Guys, I would love it again.
- 33:59[SPEAKER_00]: This is another area.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: I tell you I want to be wrong I want to be wrong about the offensive line needing some time to jail.
- 34:06[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they come right out and boom.
- 34:07[SPEAKER_00]: It's right there I'm just not counting on
- 34:13[SPEAKER_01]: Since 1989, Mount Hope fence has set the standard in outdoor living.
- 34:18[SPEAKER_01]: From decks and railings to fences and paddios, we've got you covered.
- 34:22[SPEAKER_01]: Our lineup features top brands like TimberTech, Aluma Guard, preferred railing, and Unilok.
- 34:27[SPEAKER_01]: Along with our own premium Duralux final products.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: For over 30 years, we've partnered with contractors ensuring reliable job site delivery.
- 34:36[SPEAKER_01]: Discover quality and excellence in all things outdoors with Mount Hope fence.
- 34:46[SPEAKER_00]: Our weaknesses on offense, quarterback until proven otherwise.
- 34:51[SPEAKER_00]: Sean Watson sucked in 2024.
- 34:55[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to show your code it.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_00]: He was fricking terrible.
- 34:58[SPEAKER_00]: Browns were one in six.
- 34:59[SPEAKER_00]: The only game they did win was on the road we two in Jacksonville.
- 35:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, and he wasn't particularly good in that game.
- 35:08[SPEAKER_00]: Our defense just stifled the Jacksonville's offense, Trevor Lawrence, and we were able to edge them out.
- 35:16[SPEAKER_00]: What did that score end up being?
- 35:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't have it up, like 18 to 16 or something.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_00]: We barely beat them.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_00]: But we did.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: We beat him.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_00]: We beat Jacksonville.
- 35:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think to Sean Watson's like seven and no in his career against Jacksonville.
- 35:28[SPEAKER_00]: Of course, he's faced them a lot being in the AFC South with Houston.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_00]: That was a division rival for them.
- 35:35[SPEAKER_00]: So there's some familiar rarity there between him and the team.
- 35:39[SPEAKER_00]: But again, this is all of a new head coach, Liam Cohen, a new system.
- 35:43[SPEAKER_00]: And you know, here, whatever it is for Trevor Lawrence, who looks like he's really finally blossomed into the franchise leading quarterback that he was drafted to be.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_00]: So, yes, Brown's offensive weakness, number one, the primary weakness, quarterback because the Sean Watson sucks.
- 36:01[SPEAKER_00]: Now, can he be better with Todd Munkin than he ever was under Kevin's defense key?
- 36:08[SPEAKER_00]: Sure, I think that's within the range of outcomes.
- 36:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it would be very hard to do.
- 36:11[SPEAKER_00]: He was absolutely terrible under Kevin's defense key.
- 36:13[SPEAKER_00]: So, how one of those things, can you be better than terrible?
- 36:18[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, probably, but is it going to be good enough to win a game?
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 36:23[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 36:24[SPEAKER_00]: I have no confidence.
- 36:25[SPEAKER_00]: Again, and I've told you guys that, I told you that when we talked about one and he should order to be the guy, but if they did end up naming Watson the story out of you, I'll root for, I'm rooting for the Browns win this game.
- 36:34[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not like I'm gonna be sitting there watching the TV saying, man, I really hope we go three and out here and have to put, no, I wanna win the freaking game.
- 36:41[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna play a good football.
- 36:42[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna watch good football.
- 36:43[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna be excited.
- 36:44[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna come on the recap show Sunday night and be jacked.
- 36:48[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna do a victory Monday.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_00]: I wanna do all these things.
- 36:51[SPEAKER_00]: And just don't believe it's gonna happen.
- 36:53[SPEAKER_00]: I don't believe he's gonna be good.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_00]: I would like to be wrong.
- 36:58[SPEAKER_00]: I would like to be wrong about that.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 37:01[SPEAKER_00]: That all goes to say, if the Browns get into a game situation where the Sean Watson has to go and try to match Trevor Lawrence yard for yard touchdown for touchdown were screwed.
- 37:10[SPEAKER_00]: We're screwed.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: He cannot out.
- 37:11[SPEAKER_00]: He cannot outdo.
- 37:13[SPEAKER_00]: Trevor Lawrence.
- 37:14[SPEAKER_00]: It has been 694 days since he has faced an actual starting NFL defense on the other side of the ball.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_00]: And he has torn his Achilles twice in that time.
- 37:24[SPEAKER_00]: He cannot
- 37:26[SPEAKER_00]: Go blow, blow, blow, blow, blow, or whatever, whatever the saying is, whichever Lawrence cannot do it, cannot do it.
- 37:32[SPEAKER_00]: So here's the formula.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns need to try to execute.
- 37:37[SPEAKER_00]: Quint Sean Judkins.
- 37:39[SPEAKER_00]: Run the damn ball.
- 37:42[SPEAKER_00]: Manage your third downs.
- 37:44[SPEAKER_00]: Nothing, if you're third and sixth or worse,
- 37:50[SPEAKER_00]: you at a major disadvantage coming your way because that is not a manageable third-down situation for Dishon Watson.
- 37:56[SPEAKER_00]: Not against this defensive front, manageable third-downs.
- 38:01[SPEAKER_00]: Play action, get them the bite, get them the bite on the run, open something up in the middle of the field, and then create that or turn that into what Kenny Mac was talking about on the board prediction show on Monday, explosive plays.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_00]: Get the ball into somebody's hand, like Casey concepts, you don't in space.
- 38:20[SPEAKER_00]: You can throw a six-yard pass to Casey, but if he's got the separation and the defense says, you know, they're biting on that play action or whatever, he can easily turn that into a 20-yard gain.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: And that's an explosive play according to Kenny Max data.
- 38:34[SPEAKER_00]: So you can see how
- 38:38[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns can run a short throwing check-down style offense and still get explosive play to solve a lot of people ripping Kenny for that.
- 38:46[SPEAKER_00]: Saying how you're supposed to get explosive plays out of, you know, five yard passes.
- 38:49[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, Harold Fanon Jr. Casey concepts you on.
- 38:51[SPEAKER_00]: Get them the ball in space and they will pick up yards after the catch.
- 38:55[SPEAKER_00]: You can get a 20 yard play out of a five yard pass if those guys have a little bit of separation because they can make guys miss.
- 39:01[SPEAKER_00]: But when Harold Fannon's case, I'll just carry three dudes for another 15 yards.
- 39:06[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, that dude's a fricking tank.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, let's kick it over to the Brown's defensive side of the ball.
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: This is where the Brown's are going to win this game.
- 39:15[SPEAKER_00]: It's got to be on the back of our defense, kind of like it has been the last few years.
- 39:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you're going to win, it's going to be on the back of this defense.
- 39:22[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have miles geared anymore.
- 39:23[SPEAKER_00]: That is obviously a massive lost.
- 39:26[SPEAKER_00]: The defense of front is not that bad.
- 39:31[SPEAKER_00]: Now, we also did lose Alex Wright.
- 39:34[SPEAKER_00]: So, our starting edge rushers or edge defenders from last year are both gone for the year.
- 39:41[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, that sucks.
- 39:42[SPEAKER_00]: But you did get Jared Verse in the trade with Los Angeles.
- 39:45[SPEAKER_00]: I love Jared Verse.
- 39:46[SPEAKER_00]: You guys know that.
- 39:47[SPEAKER_00]: I'm huge on Jared Verse.
- 39:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be a foundational player for the Cleveland Browns defense for years to come.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_00]: Jared Verse, Mason Graham, Elite Collins,
- 39:58[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Derek Barnett, Isaiah McGuire, not really sure who's kind of kind of be like the starter opposite of Jared verse there, but it's going to be one of those guys.
- 40:05[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they just signed Sam Williams from the Cowboys, Mike Howard Jr. still there.
- 40:10[SPEAKER_00]: He'll probably play a little edge to, um, along with the interior, but the defense of front still has to be the strength of the defense.
- 40:20[SPEAKER_00]: If they can be, we're going to be in good shape.
- 40:25[SPEAKER_00]: If they can get exploited, especially in the run game, that's going to suck.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_00]: Because we saw last year, after we lost Malik Collins, we couldn't stop the run.
- 40:32[SPEAKER_00]: Well, we got Malik Collins back.
- 40:34[SPEAKER_00]: Now, is he fully healthy?
- 40:36[SPEAKER_00]: I know he's cleared.
- 40:37[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, being fully cleared for football does not mean you're fully healthy.
- 40:43[SPEAKER_00]: He might only be operating at 80% of what he was last year when he was healthy before the injury.
- 40:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's 100% clear to play, but his ability might only be at 80%.
- 40:53[SPEAKER_00]: we don't know.
- 40:54[SPEAKER_00]: We don't know if there's going to be a drop off, excuse me, they're from Lee Collins.
- 40:58[SPEAKER_00]: We're hoping not, but you gotta leave that window open that that could be the case we will see.
- 41:05[SPEAKER_00]: again we a lot of this stuff guys it's week one we do a lot of projection here because that's what you got to do you can only talk about what happened last year to help you predict what might happen this year we have no this year to go off of yet but Jared verse 80 pressures generated last season with eight sacks for the Rams that's according to PFF and our 2025 defense
- 41:30[SPEAKER_00]: They actually finished fourth in total yards allowed and third in passing yards allowed, meaning we held teams to the third fewest passing yards and the fourth fewest overall total yards in 2025, and that's even with those games where Malay Collins was gone and the team were running the ball, however they wanted to against us.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like we still, that's how good the overall season was for the Browns defense.
- 41:54[SPEAKER_00]: And maybe pull off an upset win, it's going to be health.
- 41:58[SPEAKER_00]: this team for the first time in my memory.
- 42:02[SPEAKER_00]: You guys help me in the comments if I'm forgetting something.
- 42:05[SPEAKER_00]: When is the last time the bronze have gone into a season with 100% active players?
- 42:11[SPEAKER_00]: It's crazy.
- 42:12[SPEAKER_00]: We have 53 guys on the roster on the act of nobody's on IR, except for like Dylan Gabriel, but we're healthy.
- 42:19[SPEAKER_00]: We had nobody with a questionable tag, nobody with a doubtful, nobody with any of this stuff.
- 42:25[SPEAKER_00]: Like as long as nothing bad happens, and now I'm probably jinxing it, but as long as nothing bad happens and practice today or tomorrow, we're going to have everybody available for the first time frickin' effort that I can remember, going into a season opener like that.
- 42:39[SPEAKER_00]: That's great.
- 42:40[SPEAKER_00]: And you guys know that I am absolutely giddy about the safety room.
- 42:44[SPEAKER_00]: I think the brown safety unit has the chance to be one of the absolute best safety units in the entire league.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_00]: With Grant Delpit, E-Man, Emmanuel McNill warn the rookie out of Toledo and then Ronnie Hickman and then the two guys behind him with Donvin, I love Donvin McNillin.
- 43:01[SPEAKER_00]: As a depth piece in your safety room, you guys know that I've been very high on him all summer.
- 43:07[SPEAKER_00]: And then Daniel Thomas,
- 43:09[SPEAKER_00]: I am not concerned one bit about safety.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_00]: I am concerned about corner back after those top two guys.
- 43:13[SPEAKER_00]: I'm really sure what the hell we're doing there.
- 43:16[SPEAKER_00]: That depth is very concerning.
- 43:18[SPEAKER_00]: If Campbell, you know, twists his ankle and has to come out for a series or two, who would love is coming into replace him?
- 43:25[SPEAKER_00]: I don't even know without looking at the depth charts.
- 43:28[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, Miles Harden?
- 43:31[SPEAKER_00]: It's bad.
- 43:32[SPEAKER_00]: The depth of corners, bad, the entire safety unit, depth at safety, very good.
- 43:38[SPEAKER_00]: I very much like the safety unit.
- 43:40[SPEAKER_00]: So the second there is going to be something to watch, but going into this game healthy, definitely a strength for the Browns defense.
- 43:51[SPEAKER_00]: Let's see.
- 43:53[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just trying to go through some more of my notes here.
- 43:55[SPEAKER_00]: Brown's defense, if you're going to have concerns on defense, run defense.
- 43:59[SPEAKER_00]: Again, I talked about that going off.
- 44:00[SPEAKER_00]: Kiltre once Millie Collins was out, but...
- 44:05[SPEAKER_00]: He's back.
- 44:05[SPEAKER_00]: So maybe that hopefully that comes back and we're able to clamp down on the run.
- 44:09[SPEAKER_00]: Cause you remember early in the season, it wasn't until week.
- 44:12[SPEAKER_00]: Gosh, was that three or four when we played the Lions?
- 44:16[SPEAKER_00]: That was the first game a team went off on the Browns defense in the run, you know, with the run game was, you know, Jamir Gibbs, obviously like the best running back in the league.
- 44:26[SPEAKER_00]: But those first couple games, we were pretty stout against the run.
- 44:30[SPEAKER_00]: So hopefully we get that here right out the gate
- 44:36[SPEAKER_00]: Big question mark.
- 44:37[SPEAKER_00]: Again, what's this past rush going to look like without miles geared and without Alex Wright?
- 44:42[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 44:43[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but we're hoping it's not a huge drop off.
- 44:48[SPEAKER_00]: It's going to be a drop off.
- 44:49[SPEAKER_00]: Let's not, it was not kid ourselves.
- 44:52[SPEAKER_00]: Jared Vs is not Miles Garrett, but Jared Vs does give you a more well-rounded skill set over there.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's going to be better against the run and he does generate pressure.
- 45:02[SPEAKER_00]: He just does not have the skill set to convert pressures to sacks the way that Miles Garrett does.
- 45:07[SPEAKER_00]: You're talking about what an eight nine year veteran in Miles Garrett,
- 45:12[SPEAKER_00]: nine year I guess versus a two year guy and Jared verse it will come it will come now it's not there yet so that's why there will be a drop-off especially here in week one in the amount of sack opportunities I think for the Browns and then on the other side of the ball lake big matchups in this game you want to talk about Spencer Fawnell already talked about that against Josh Heinz Allen.
- 45:33[SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the NFL rookie this is about as difficult as first assignment as you control up
- 45:38[SPEAKER_00]: without having to play like Miles Gert in the ramps.
- 45:41[SPEAKER_00]: Josh Heinz Allen is legit, and thankfully he has practiced against Jared Vers, the entire summer.
- 45:48[SPEAKER_00]: So I think that does give Spencer Fano a good feather in his cap for this game.
- 45:53[SPEAKER_00]: So then we look at interior, Mason Graham, elite Collins going against the rookie left guard, a manual prognone, can we exploit opportunities there?
- 46:01[SPEAKER_00]: Ward, Campbell against the wider severs.
- 46:03[SPEAKER_00]: If you can limit Trevor Lawrence getting explosive
- 46:08[SPEAKER_00]: this plethora of good wide receivers that he has, that will go a long way in this game.
- 46:14[SPEAKER_00]: When Sean Judkins going against the Jacksonville Jaguars linebackers, can you exploit matchups?
- 46:20[SPEAKER_00]: Can you create mismatches with Juckins and Fannon and KC and these guys in the intermediate area against those linebackers?
- 46:27[SPEAKER_00]: That's going to be big.
- 46:29[SPEAKER_00]: And the biggest matchup in this game will be the Sean Watson verse himself.
- 46:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's the biggest one.
- 46:37[SPEAKER_00]: Can he play efficient, call it boring football, because it ain't gonna be explosive.
- 46:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's not gonna, anybody's saying, well, what if he gets back to 2024 and shot up, shot up?
- 46:48[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that dude doesn't exist anymore.
- 46:51[SPEAKER_00]: It does not exist.
- 46:53[SPEAKER_00]: Can he be inefficient?
- 46:54[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about this after the bear's game.
- 46:56[SPEAKER_00]: The ceiling play for the Sean Watson is an efficient game manager quarterback for a football team.
- 47:03[SPEAKER_00]: Can he do that?
- 47:07[SPEAKER_00]: That's it.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: Right there.
- 47:08[SPEAKER_00]: Can you be the highest paid game manager and NFL history?
- 47:12[SPEAKER_00]: Because that's what we need you to be right now.
- 47:14[SPEAKER_00]: and we cannot get into a shoot.
- 47:16[SPEAKER_00]: I got a voidsack of void turnovers, hit the open guys, no dirt balls.
- 47:22[SPEAKER_00]: Please, if you guys want to have a fun game though, take a shot every time there's a dirt ball.
- 47:29[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I don't know if you want to play that game.
- 47:32[SPEAKER_00]: Based on the last time we sold a Sean Watson on a NFL field, you would be blackout drunk by halftime, but take a shot for every dirt ball.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_04]: Avoid the dirt balls.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_00]: Please just hit the open guys.
- 47:44[SPEAKER_00]: Don't panic.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay.
- 47:49[SPEAKER_00]: I'm very, very low on what to expect from the Sean Watson here in this first game.
- 47:56[SPEAKER_00]: But,
- 47:57[SPEAKER_00]: That's pretty much the breakdown between these two teams.
- 48:02[SPEAKER_00]: I hope that was a good preview for the two teams, for the two matchups here, between the J-Wires, between the Browns, the big thing that I didn't mention, that the J-Wires were one of the NFL leaders in turnovers forced and takeaways on defense last year.
- 48:27[SPEAKER_00]: scares the crap out of me with the Sean Watson starting in this game.
- 48:31[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not gonna lie to you guys.
- 48:32[SPEAKER_00]: It would scare me if a Shador was starting this game because Shador had a lot of turnovers last year.
- 48:38[SPEAKER_00]: He had a lot of turnovers in the preseason this year.
- 48:40[SPEAKER_00]: It's one of the things that went against him getting the starting job.
- 48:43[SPEAKER_00]: Sean Watson had a hell of a lot of turnovers in training camp.
- 48:47[SPEAKER_00]: We saw his ability to absolutely fold on himself and just collapse against third stringers for the bills.
- 48:56[SPEAKER_00]: I'm concerned about the Jaguars defense ability to force turnovers, because again, they were one of the league leaders last year in that area.
- 49:06[SPEAKER_00]: Can the Browns defense force and turnovers?
- 49:08[SPEAKER_00]: We talked about that on Monday with Kenny Mack.
- 49:10[SPEAKER_00]: And this new mentality, this ball is oxygen
- 49:16[SPEAKER_00]: Go get, we saw it in the pre-season.
- 49:18[SPEAKER_00]: These guys were attacking the ball when it was in the air, and just absolutely flying to it like it was oxygen, like they needed it to live and survive.
- 49:27[SPEAKER_00]: And if they can have that mentality and play with the hair on fire, that's where this game is going to be one for the Browns.
- 49:36[SPEAKER_00]: So let me know in the comments what you guys think, because
- 49:41[SPEAKER_00]: Again, if Jacksonville comes out slow and clunky on offense and our defense can maybe force to turn over, put her offense in a position with a short field and we can actually capitalize score touchdown, get ahead.
- 49:54[SPEAKER_00]: you could start to tip the scales a little bit of if Jacksonville does that to us, forces a turnover early, gets on the board early, all of a sudden at 7, nothing.
- 50:04[SPEAKER_00]: We go 3 and out, they go back, they score again.
- 50:06[SPEAKER_00]: Now it's for you get behind in the on the score board early.
- 50:11[SPEAKER_00]: That's where things could get really ugly for a Deshawn Watson first game back to the NFL.
- 50:17[SPEAKER_00]: So you let me know what you guys think.
- 50:19[SPEAKER_00]: We'll take a quick break here and we'll come back with your

- 52:04[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Browns Vand, you know, we've all messed around with the sports books before, right?
- 52:08[SPEAKER_00]: And let's be honest, you're always kind of playing against the house.
- 52:11[SPEAKER_00]: But with Kaoshi, it's different.
- 52:12[SPEAKER_00]: You're not betting against some sports book.
- 52:15[SPEAKER_00]: You're trading against other real world people.

- 52:22[SPEAKER_00]: So if you think the public is wrong and the Browns can make the playoffs in Todd Munkins first year, or Casey Concepcion, Denzel Boston, one of those guys can win offensive rookie of the year.
- 52:31[SPEAKER_00]: You can take the other side of the market and then if you're right, that's a big payout for you.
- 52:35[SPEAKER_00]: And it's not just sports either.
- 52:36[SPEAKER_00]: You can trade on other real-world stuff, interest rates, inflation, even wild weather outcomes.

- 53:11[SPEAKER_00]: All right, first voice mail here today.
- 53:13[SPEAKER_00]: This one is from Nick.
- 53:15[SPEAKER_03]: Hey, you guys have got to start asking the coach of the Cleveland Browns' better questions.
- 53:22[SPEAKER_03]: Um, essentially, here's one.
- 53:26[SPEAKER_03]: Should do or always ask, sorry, should do or always states, hey, how I perform,
- 53:33[SPEAKER_03]: has really no say so on if I was going to be the starter or not.
- 53:37[SPEAKER_03]: He says, hey, just go back and play it.
- 53:40[SPEAKER_03]: He says, it's not in his control, it's not in his control.
- 53:44[SPEAKER_03]: Which means he's telling you without telling you, no matter how going here and perform on this field, it's still not in his control.
- 53:51[SPEAKER_03]: Because how he performs on a field to a certain extent, it's in his control.
- 53:56[SPEAKER_03]: You know, other people, other parts had to play well around you, but at the same time,
- 54:02[SPEAKER_03]: No matter what I do, it's still like in my control.
- 54:06[SPEAKER_03]: So you need to ask the coach, hey coach, should door basically said, that's why Z, that no matter how he performs, him becoming or being named, it's starting quarterback, what needed his control.
- 54:20[SPEAKER_03]: Is that correct?
- 54:21[SPEAKER_03]: You got to ask that.
- 54:22[SPEAKER_03]: We want to know, get straight to it.
- 54:24[SPEAKER_03]: You guys ask and he's bore junk questions.
- 54:26[SPEAKER_03]: We got to ask the real, why does he feel like that?
- 54:28[SPEAKER_03]: No matter how he performs on a field, it's still like that in his control.
- 54:32[SPEAKER_03]: And it seems to be, hey, you name to Sean, why's in the started?
- 54:35[SPEAKER_03]: It seems to be correct, because he did outperform him in training camp.
- 54:40[SPEAKER_03]: They both through night, they start the QB tracker.
- 54:43[SPEAKER_03]: They both through
- 54:45[SPEAKER_03]: It's crazy.
- 54:46[SPEAKER_03]: They both threw the same amount of touchdowns, but one protected the ball better than the other one.
- 54:50[SPEAKER_03]: I let you guess which one done that.
- 54:52[SPEAKER_03]: So based off the training camp numbers should do or actually out performed the Sean Watson and then you also go to the preseason.
- 55:02[SPEAKER_03]: Everyone knows just off the eye test.
- 55:05[SPEAKER_03]: the Sean came in check checking down check and down check and down when he started should do it gotten a game if you look at the artist he done with all quarter best thing to do he moved the ball down and feel he drove the ball all right nick thanks for the voicemail we're we're not in the uh we're not in the press conference is man I
- 55:25[SPEAKER_00]: I know you're probably talking like Cleveland media and general needs to ask better questions.
- 55:29[SPEAKER_00]: We don't get to ask the coach questions here.
- 55:31[SPEAKER_00]: However, we're not part of the media for the Cleveland Browns, but, you know, to your point,
- 55:40[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, I like I think it was predetermined to Sean Watson was going to be the starting quarterback to at least open the season.
- 55:46[SPEAKER_00]: Unless should door Sanders absolutely blew him away in the competition and while I do believe that should door Sanders outperform them overall for the entire summer for the entire priest training camp, priest is all that stuff, I think he was the more consistent quarterback.
- 56:00[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's got the higher upside.
- 56:02[SPEAKER_00]: I think you got the better opportunity for explosive plays down the field with should
- 56:06[SPEAKER_00]: he didn't blow him out of the water.
- 56:08[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't do enough.
- 56:09[SPEAKER_00]: He didn't do enough to absolutely leave no doubt about who should be the starter.
- 56:13[SPEAKER_00]: And that's just the reality of the situation.
- 56:15[SPEAKER_00]: So they go, you know, according to plan, the Sean Watson starts the season and we're going to see how it goes.
- 56:23[SPEAKER_00]: But don't worry, we will see Shador Sanders at some point this year.
- 56:28[SPEAKER_00]: The Sean Watson has never played a full season for Cleveland.
- 56:31[SPEAKER_00]: He hasn't played a full season since 2020.
- 56:34[SPEAKER_00]: long-ass time ago and it's not going to happen this year so don't worry we'll get a chance to see Shidorah this season.
- 56:39[SPEAKER_00]: All right next voice mail this one is from Mari.
- 56:42[SPEAKER_02]: What's up fellas this is Mari here and I'm sure you guys heard about the news and
- 56:59[SPEAKER_02]: saw that I heard that of any NFL team that is doing a week-to-week basis of naming the captain, not even having a permanent captain for all 17 games on my think that is very weird and interesting.
- 57:24[SPEAKER_02]: Um, however, I just see the discourse going on also with the recent news of that Monkman is thinking about putting the same green in there, possibly having some packages.
- 57:40[SPEAKER_02]: Um, I think that he probably gonna listen as a Titan maybe, um, because I know there will have to be a backup and, you know, that's the sudor.
- 57:53[SPEAKER_02]: And the third quarterback is usually inactive.
- 57:56[SPEAKER_02]: So I think that Muck and probably want to have a listed something else possibly if he's planning to use them for this first game in Jacksonville.
- 58:08[SPEAKER_00]: All right, Marie, thank you for the voice mail and that hits on something that I'm glad you brought that up because I wanted to touch on this today.
- 58:15[SPEAKER_00]: There has been a lot of misunderstanding and I've tried my best to explain this to people.
- 58:21[SPEAKER_00]: Um, and I don't want to come across like a dick or like I'm being condescending or anything here.
- 58:26[SPEAKER_00]: Like I get that it's, it's the roster construction, roster stipulation, management, all this crap with the NFL.
- 58:33[SPEAKER_00]: It's, it's complicated.
- 58:35[SPEAKER_00]: It is like I, I, I, I, I felt nobody for not understanding this.
- 58:39[SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to do my best now to explain it.
- 58:42[SPEAKER_00]: So if you already understand all this stuff, you can probably just skip ahead.
- 58:44[SPEAKER_00]: This will be the last part of the show.
- 58:47[SPEAKER_00]: This whole situation, this whole controversy, if you want to call it that, about tail and green being the QB2 over Shidorah Sanders and all this stuff, like people are freaking out.
- 58:58[SPEAKER_00]: How can, you know, tail and green took no quarterback one reps over the summer?
- 59:01[SPEAKER_00]: How can he be named the QB2?
- 59:03[SPEAKER_00]: How is he going to jump Shidorah Sanders on the depth chart?
- 59:06[SPEAKER_00]: This is not a depth chart thing.
- 59:09[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, nobody, nobody has implied or stated or said or alluded to anything about Shidorah Sanders not being the QB2 on the depth chart.
- 59:20[SPEAKER_00]: Shidorah Sanders is the QB2 he will be the QB2 on the depth chart.
- 59:23[SPEAKER_00]: He is the backup quarterback.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_00]: That is not changing.
- 59:25[SPEAKER_00]: That would not change no matter what happens.
- 59:31[SPEAKER_00]: The difference, the confusing part is this.
- 59:34[SPEAKER_00]: We're talking about depth chart order versus active, game day status.
- 59:39[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, so all NFL teams have a 53 man roster, right?
- 59:45[SPEAKER_00]: We're there now.
- 59:46[SPEAKER_00]: We had our roster cut down last weekend.
- 59:49[SPEAKER_00]: We cut it down from 90 players, 90 training camp spots over the summer.
- 59:54[SPEAKER_00]: You got to cut it down to 53 for the season.
- 59:56[SPEAKER_00]: We're already there.
- 59:57[SPEAKER_00]: We're already at our 53 man roster.
- 59:59[SPEAKER_00]: We are operating, like no matter what, from now until the end of the year.
- 1:00:03[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns will always have 53 men on the roster.
- 1:00:06[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to get guys off the practice squad.
- 1:00:08[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to put guys on IR.
- 1:00:09[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to cut players.
- 1:00:10[SPEAKER_00]: You're going to move guys off to the practice squad up.
- 1:00:12[SPEAKER_00]: But no matter what active every week, every single day, there will be 53 active players on the roster.
- 1:00:19[SPEAKER_00]: Okay?
- 1:00:20[SPEAKER_00]: 53.
- 1:00:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's it for the year.
- 1:00:22[SPEAKER_00]: All at all times.
- 1:00:23[SPEAKER_00]: There will always, no matter what, there will always be 53 active players on the roster.
- 1:00:28[SPEAKER_00]: On game days, on Sundays.
- 1:00:32[SPEAKER_00]: you only get 48 active spots for game day.
- 1:00:39[SPEAKER_00]: So what that means when game day arrives, a team has to decide, OK, I've got 53 players on my active roster.
- 1:00:50[SPEAKER_00]: I have 48 spots.
- 1:00:53[SPEAKER_00]: to team active for the game, which means I got five players that I have to list as inactive for this game, the NFL.
- 1:01:02[SPEAKER_00]: After the playoff game with the 49ers, few years back, they changed the rules.
- 1:01:07[SPEAKER_00]: So you now can try to think best way to say what you're at the quarterback position.
- 1:01:16[SPEAKER_00]: Teams were like, well, now I got to keep, you know, because the 49ers got into a hard spot there.
- 1:01:20[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, well, do we have to keep three quarterbacks active?
- 1:01:24[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, you by keeping three quarterbacks active, you're eating up one of those 48 spots from another position.
- 1:01:31[SPEAKER_00]: So the NFL said, let's change this.
- 1:01:32[SPEAKER_00]: So you can have two quarterbacks active.
- 1:01:36[SPEAKER_00]: This is called the third quarterback row.
- 1:01:37[SPEAKER_00]: I saw somebody say, well, could you just have one quarterback active and then just make your QB2 your emergency quarter and no.
- 1:01:43[SPEAKER_00]: It's called the third quarterback rule.
- 1:01:45[SPEAKER_00]: So you got your QB1, QB2.
- 1:01:48[SPEAKER_00]: So you have two quarterbacks.
- 1:01:49[SPEAKER_00]: We want you to say QB1 and two.
- 1:01:50[SPEAKER_00]: We'll just say two quarterbacks are active on game day.
- 1:01:52[SPEAKER_00]: You got 48 active spots, allocate two of those to the quarterback position.
- 1:01:57[SPEAKER_00]: Your third quarterback on your 53 man roster can then be one of your five guys listed as inactive on game day.
- 1:02:08[SPEAKER_00]: but then is also the emergency quarterback.
- 1:02:10[SPEAKER_00]: So he's inactive for the game, but if both the two active quarterbacks get hurt during the game, that third guy can then go in and play in an emergency situation.
- 1:02:22[SPEAKER_00]: So that's how that works.
- 1:02:25[SPEAKER_00]: And Murray, I understand, and I see people say this all the time, and I think Kenny Mack even mentioned something about this on Monday that I didn't say anything at the time because we were moving along there,
- 1:02:36[SPEAKER_00]: And I was like, I don't think he, there's some confusion.
- 1:02:39[SPEAKER_00]: And I hear you say, well, I think Todd Muckin, you could list tail and green as a tight end to get around this.
- 1:02:46[SPEAKER_00]: No, no, it doesn't matter how you label, you could list him as a linebacker, you could list him as a kicker, don't fricking matter how you what position you put a mat.
- 1:02:57[SPEAKER_00]: He takes up a 48 man spot.
- 1:03:00[SPEAKER_00]: Again, you only get 48 spots on your roster, okay?
- 1:03:04[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't care, take tail and green, a defensive tackle.
- 1:03:08[SPEAKER_00]: I don't care, it doesn't matter what you list him as.
- 1:03:11[SPEAKER_00]: That is one less roster spot that you have for the rest of your team, for any other
- 1:03:17[SPEAKER_00]: I really hope I'm explaining this, okay, because it is confusing.
- 1:03:22[SPEAKER_00]: So, what every NFL team does, okay?
- 1:03:28[SPEAKER_00]: You have your starting quarterback, you have your backup quarterback, and then your third quarterback gets listed as one of the five inactive for the day.
- 1:03:36[SPEAKER_00]: as the emergency quarterback.
- 1:03:37[SPEAKER_00]: So if bad things were to happen to you, you'd be one of your QB2, boom, this third guy, who was not active for the game can come in and spot you and play.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_00]: The Browns did this.
- 1:03:48[SPEAKER_00]: If you remember the game in 2024 against the bangles at home, went to Sean Watson, towards the killies, okay?
- 1:03:54[SPEAKER_00]: There's a big thing that morning, because all season leading up to that game,
- 1:03:59[SPEAKER_00]: to Sean Watson's your starter.
- 1:04:01[SPEAKER_00]: James Winston was your backup and then you had Dorian Thompson Robinson was your inactive quarterback for the day, but he was your emergency quarterback.
- 1:04:08[SPEAKER_00]: You can see still dressed, he's still prepped, he's still ready to go.
- 1:04:12[SPEAKER_00]: If the first two guys get hurt.
- 1:04:14[SPEAKER_00]: Well, they changed that day.
- 1:04:16[SPEAKER_00]: They moved, and this is where it kind of gets into the tail and green chador thing.
- 1:04:21[SPEAKER_00]: They said, for this bangles game, we're going to have James Winston be the inactive emergency quarterback in Dorian Thompson, Robinson is going to be the active quarterback.
- 1:04:30[SPEAKER_00]: So they probably had a plan to use DTR in certain packages or something like that in that game.
- 1:04:38[SPEAKER_00]: And you don't want to have three quarterbacks active
- 1:04:41[SPEAKER_00]: That's just stupid.
- 1:04:43[SPEAKER_00]: The NFL's literally giving you a free square on Sundays with the third quarterback rule so to make three quarterbacks active.
- 1:04:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's not taking advantage of the opportunity.
- 1:04:54[SPEAKER_00]: That's stupid.
- 1:04:56[SPEAKER_00]: So that's why when Tony grows the ass, Todd Munkin, you know, are you playing on having all three of these quarterback's active and Todd's like, there are three's a lot.
- 1:05:04[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, three's stupid.
- 1:05:05[SPEAKER_00]: It is stupid to not take advantage of the third quarterback rule, which is why if you want to have packages or specific plays for Taylor and Green during the game, he needs to be the active, the second active quarterback and then Shador would have to be your inactive guy.
- 1:05:22[SPEAKER_00]: You can have three quarterbacks active.
- 1:05:24[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you can.
- 1:05:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's very stupid to do that.
- 1:05:28[SPEAKER_00]: Which can.
- 1:05:30[SPEAKER_00]: So listen guys, I know it's confusing.
- 1:05:32[SPEAKER_00]: If I'm not explaining this well, let me know in the comments.
- 1:05:35[SPEAKER_00]: I'll try to help you out there.
- 1:05:37[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm not like, I'm not trying to be again.
- 1:05:38[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not trying to be mean.
- 1:05:39[SPEAKER_00]: This is confusing.
- 1:05:43[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, whether or not
- 1:05:50[SPEAKER_00]: or wider receiver or running back or tight end or a center.
- 1:05:55[SPEAKER_00]: It doesn't matter what his position is if he's active.
- 1:06:01[SPEAKER_00]: This is the big thing.
- 1:06:03[SPEAKER_00]: There's active versus inactive.
- 1:06:04[SPEAKER_00]: If he is an active player, which means he
- 1:06:08[SPEAKER_00]: is dressed and can go into the game at any point.
- 1:06:11[SPEAKER_00]: So that guess that's the big thing to take away here.
- 1:06:13[SPEAKER_00]: Active status for a game means you can go in and play in that game anytime.
- 1:06:19[SPEAKER_00]: The coach can call your number and you can go in at any point in the game.
- 1:06:23[SPEAKER_00]: If you are the inactive emergency quarterback, you cannot do that.
- 1:06:27[SPEAKER_00]: So they cannot make tail and green the inactive emergency quarterback and still have packages for him because you can't put them in the game.
- 1:06:34[SPEAKER_00]: So it's pointless.
- 1:06:36[SPEAKER_00]: So that won't happen.
- 1:06:37[SPEAKER_00]: So if tail and green, so Sunday morning comes out.
- 1:06:40[SPEAKER_00]: They always list their inactive players on Sunday on game day.
- 1:06:43[SPEAKER_00]: If tail and green is listed as the inactive emergency quarterback, then you know the Browns have no plans, no packages, no plays, four tail and green in that game because he can't go in.
- 1:06:52[SPEAKER_00]: He cannot go in unless both Deshawn and Shador are both hurt in that game.
- 1:06:57[SPEAKER_00]: The only way talent green can enter the contest.
- 1:06:59[SPEAKER_00]: If it comes out that all three quarterbacks are active, then you know that they do have something planned for tail and green.
- 1:07:05[SPEAKER_00]: Otherwise, you would just make him the inactive emergency quarterback.
- 1:07:08[SPEAKER_00]: There's no point to have him active.
- 1:07:11[SPEAKER_00]: Unless you plan to play him.
- 1:07:14[SPEAKER_00]: And I cannot stress it enough, guys.
- 1:07:16[SPEAKER_00]: I know it sounds loopholely, it sounds creative to say, well, I'll just list him as a title.
- 1:07:22[SPEAKER_00]: It does not matter how you list him.
- 1:07:27[SPEAKER_00]: Doesn't matter.
- 1:07:28[SPEAKER_00]: All that matters is whether he's active or inactive.
- 1:07:32[SPEAKER_00]: Because if he's active, that means that is a lineman, a defensive back, a defensive lineman, a receiver, that's another position somewhere on the roster.
- 1:07:46[SPEAKER_00]: that you cannot have active that day if tail and green is active.
- 1:07:50[SPEAKER_00]: I hope I explained that well, I kind of feel like I didn't, but big takeaways, don't matter, don't matter how you list him.
- 1:07:59[SPEAKER_00]: If he's active, he takes up a spot from somebody else.
- 1:08:02[SPEAKER_00]: That's all that, that's it right there.
- 1:08:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's what the big dilemma is with tail and green and
- 1:08:10[SPEAKER_00]: No team has three active quarterbacks on game day anymore.
- 1:08:14[SPEAKER_00]: Since the third quarterback rule came into effect, those are the big takeaways for you guys here with that whole situation.
- 1:08:21[SPEAKER_00]: But let me know what you guys think about the Browns, Jaguars, we've got week one coming up here.
- 1:08:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's gonna be so, no matter how the game goes.

- 1:09:16[SPEAKER_00]: I also don't want to lie to you.
- 1:09:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's going to be a rough first game for the Browns.
- 1:09:23[SPEAKER_00]: I think we probably lose.
- 1:09:28[SPEAKER_00]: I think it's probably like 27 to 17 it's a night and half points bread.
- 1:09:39[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, I love you guys.
- 1:09:40[SPEAKER_00]: You guys know that.
- 1:09:41[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not trying to down on this week one concept.
- 1:09:43[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just trying to give you guys my honest assessment.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_00]: I want to be wrong.
- 1:09:46[SPEAKER_00]: I want to celebrate a win.
- 1:09:47[SPEAKER_00]: I want to have a victory Monday and I want to be pumped on Sunday night when eight o'clock rolls around.
- 1:09:54[SPEAKER_00]: But either way, we got a lot of great things to watch in this game a lot of good young players that however the scored board shapes out, I want to see what these guys can do because
- 1:10:04[SPEAKER_00]: We, I can probably all agree, this is not a, you know, Super Bowl campaign for the Browns issue.
- 1:10:10[SPEAKER_00]: It's probably not a playoff campaign for the Browns issue.
- 1:10:12[SPEAKER_00]: I think we can probably all agree that is unlikely, but what it is is a campaign to develop the future and hopefully lay the foundation for some future playoff seasons.
- 1:10:25[SPEAKER_00]: maybe even starting next year.
- 1:10:27[SPEAKER_00]: And that starts with these young guys this first game to see what they can do.
- 1:10:31[SPEAKER_00]: So I'm pumped.
- 1:10:32[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited.
- 1:10:33[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to do it.
- 1:10:34[SPEAKER_00]: I can't wait to see how this goes.
