- 0:00She's just writing from the man's perspective.
- 0:02Yeah, she's she's a. Lesbian man's perspective.
- 0:04Yeah, like fully formed chorus of this song was written by
- 0:08Travis like. They're going to be like, oh,
- 0:10Travis says he's a lesbian cause lesbian's his girl.
- 0:14Me too. And it all ties back to Drake.
- 0:17And she partnered with Drake, so she's actually showing that
- 0:20she's going to work with Drake. She's double album.
- 0:32Hey guys, it's me Haley, the host of Gasp.
- 0:35Before we get into the show, I'd like to very quickly let you all
- 0:38know how grateful I am to be able to host this podcast for
- 0:41you all. However, running a podcast is
- 0:43time consuming and more expensive than I thought.
- 0:46I want to keep this going for as long as I can, and in order to
- 0:49keep it running and continuously improve the quality of content,
- 0:52I rely on y'all support. If you are financially able I
- 0:55would greatly appreciate either joining my Patreon which is only
- 0:59$5.00 a month and you will receive bonus content plus early
- 1:03episodes and or buying my merch. Links to all of this are in the
- 1:08show notes. OK that's all.
- 1:09Thanks again and enjoy the show my queers and Queens 01 more
- 1:13thing. My audio will improve next week
- 1:16as I'm getting a new mic because my equipment was indeed stolen.
- 1:18Thank you so much for your patience.
- 1:20Hey Gaspers and welcome back to GASP the Pod.
- 1:23This is season 2 of GASP, so thank you for joining us for
- 1:28season 2. This is a podcast for the gays,
- 1:30the girls, and especially the gay girls.
- 1:33Those who know are very much aware of that.
- 1:35And if you're new, this is a pop culture queer podcast.
- 1:40So we talk about like queer hot takes of pop culture.
- 1:44We call celebrities gay, mostly Taylor Swift.
- 1:46It's mostly a Gaylord podcast. And sometimes we talk about
- 1:50other things. Today is a very special day
- 1:53because I run this podcast. It's kind of like deep dives
- 1:57into specific topics and then sometimes if we're lucky, we get
- 2:02special guests. And I have a special guest
- 2:04today, and that special guest is DJ Crocs KA Jordan, our
- 2:09favorite. Yeah, I'm so.
- 2:11Excited. I'm so glad you're here.
- 2:13Like, it's such a special kickoff for Season 2.
- 2:16Just we're just jumping in and also today just so happens to be
- 2:22Inauguration Day today that we have scheduled this.
- 2:28And what's good for us a little more I'll.
- 2:29Boost I think so we we need it, but it's also so crazy because
- 2:35literally he's being sworn in. He we're not even going to say
- 2:39he's being sworn in right now. So like, as we've started this,
- 2:44we live in a world with President Biden, and as we
- 2:47finish it, Trump is going to be president.
- 2:50Scary. I know.
- 2:51Isn't that literally so scary? We're just here gapping about
- 2:55Taylor Swift girl kisser. We're gonna pretend like that's
- 2:57not even happening. Exactly.
- 2:59It's not real. Not real.
- 3:00Not happening. I'm gonna talk about Gaylord
- 3:04highlights of 2024 arm musings of what it was like going
- 3:09through the downfall of TikTok and then all of a sudden it
- 3:12coming back and our predictions or 2025 and all things
- 3:18Gaylordism because obviously we need to find out all your like
- 3:23real thoughts about everything, which you share anyways, but in
- 3:26a long form way all the. The true T.
- 3:29Exactly the true T because what's fun about a podcast is
- 3:33that there's I'm sure you've experienced this.
- 3:36Sometimes you're saying something on TikTok and you're
- 3:38like, I know this is going to get so much fucking hate right
- 3:42now. Like I know this one line and
- 3:45I'm like, and I like sometimes take it out.
- 3:48But even the most like annoying hedlers don't really listen to
- 3:54this much content enough to like.
- 3:58They don't go to the full podcast.
- 4:00Yeah, they probably won't even clip it and repost it anywhere
- 4:02else. So like we can literally say
- 4:04whatever you want. Like yeah, that's the benefit of
- 4:07the podcast. Little housekeeping stuff before
- 4:10we get into Maine content, Those who are new here to my podcast,
- 4:16please subscribe to my YouTube. It really like is like the main
- 4:21thing that matters when it comes to a podcast is rating on
- 4:26Spotify and Apple and then subscribing on YouTube.
- 4:29I also recently made a Patreon, which is really exciting and I
- 4:34know that gaylors have talked about like making a mass
- 4:37Patreon, so we should definitely do that in the link in my TikTok
- 4:43bio, which is still there and also will be in the notes of
- 4:47whatever this comes up on YouTube on Spotify, on Apple.
- 4:51So just look at the notes and it's there.
- 4:53Also final thing, I literally made merch like a week ago which
- 4:58is very fun and so. Cute so.
- 5:01Cute, thanks. I love the.
- 5:02Shirt you're wearing right now. I need it, it's so cute.
- 5:05This is supposed to be me I just AI blonde girl and if anyone's
- 5:11wondering where I am right now because this is not my normal
- 5:14set, I'm at my parents house. I was just at the inauguration
- 5:18like people's March which is in resistance of the inauguration.
- 5:21It's not pro inauguration. I think that's probably obvious,
- 5:24but I feel like I'm and my mom was actually a volunteer and
- 5:31volunteered to be like crowd control.
- 5:34Whoa, she's brave. Had these little, like neon
- 5:37little arm bands and she was like standing in front of like
- 5:40the Jesus saves people being, yeah, so that's why I'm here.
- 5:45And I don't have a mic today because all of my things and my
- 5:48podcast equipment were stolen on the train.
- 5:51That was all in your. Isn't that that is a.
- 5:56Bad week. Horrible.
- 5:58Oh my fucking God, yeah. Could they do any like?
- 6:01Do anything. Could they track it?
- 6:04I like put my, I like filed a form or whatever or like we
- 6:08don't pay out anything like if you lose your luggage, like even
- 6:13if it's stolen by like Amtrak employees.
- 6:16Oh. Isn't that crazy?
- 6:17My God that is it was just gone. Fucking horrible.
- 6:19I started crying and then the next day it was like TikTok
- 6:22Supreme Court fully getting removed and I was like, Oh my
- 6:25God. And then, you know, I just
- 6:28reinstated or whatever. But again, at what cost?
- 6:31I've been seeing people post like oh when TikTok is finally
- 6:34restored and it's a three day weekend and you're finally at
- 6:37peace, I'm like, is anyone forgetting like the Trump of it
- 6:40all? Right and the fact that there
- 6:42was so many messages. Thank you President Trump.
- 6:46We give our our gratitude to President Trump like on
- 6:49essentially the world's largest billboard right now everywhere
- 6:52right before he's inaugurated. We are thank you Trump.
- 6:56You're amazing. Like it's disgusting and it
- 7:00freaks me out. And then there's so many people.
- 7:02I saw a James Charles video where they were like, it was,
- 7:07they were joking about thanking Trump for fixing TikTok, but I'm
- 7:11like, no, even that. Like he wants that.
- 7:13That's what he likes and that's what he wants.
- 7:15And he wants everyone to be praising him.
- 7:17He's not gonna know if you're joking.
- 7:19You're not. And neither are all of his crazy
- 7:21fucking supporters. Like it's just, it's scary.
- 7:24Positive messages. Right about him like.
- 7:28Oh God, it's disgusting. Well, anyways, we will maybe get
- 7:32into that later, but probably not.
- 7:36We'll probably just be talking about Taylor Swift.
- 7:38But I first just want to introduce Jordan.
- 7:41I'm sure anyone that's listening to this already knows who she
- 7:44is. And just like, thank you so much
- 7:48for joining us, pod. I'm so excited to have you as a
- 7:50guest and for us to gab about all things Gaylor and your
- 7:53experience like on Tiktok and everything.
- 7:55But tell everyone like where else to find you if for some
- 7:59reason Tiktok like is banned again.
- 8:05Yes. OK, so if Tiktok is banned again
- 8:08or if Tiktok goes away, I I'm going to try posting on YouTube.
- 8:11I'm going to try some more long form content.
- 8:14I have some ideas of videos that I want to film.
- 8:16It's just always scared me making like full YouTube videos.
- 8:21But we're going to try and I'm going to try to do that before
- 8:24TikTok gets banned so that we have a little bit of like, you
- 8:27know, a base there just in case. I don't know, I've been trying
- 8:32red no or red book and I keep going back and forth on how I
- 8:36feel about it and if it'll if I'll stick with it long term.
- 8:40So we'll see. I still have it.
- 8:42I'll probably still randomly post on there.
- 8:45And I've really been loving blue sky.
- 8:46I think blue sky is really fun. And I saw this morning that they
- 8:50have video content now that you can post on there.
- 8:53You can post like short form videos.
- 8:55So I'm on blue sky, DJ Crocs, red book, Red note, DJ Crocs and
- 9:01on YouTube DJ Crocs. The name was already taken.
- 9:04So I'm DJ Crocs 777 over there. Yeah.
- 9:08Well, thanks for joining. I'm literally obsessed with your
- 9:10content. Like I feel like if I'm waiting
- 9:13for someone to like tell it how it is, I go to your page and
- 9:17there's a lot of people that I think have like redirected their
- 9:19content when the like the popular opinion is somewhere
- 9:23else. It's so much easier to do that.
- 9:26It's just like, why pretend like you don't think something you
- 9:30know? Right, right.
- 9:32No, I cannot pretend. I cannot lie.
- 9:35And when it comes to Taylor Swift, I'm like, who fucking
- 9:38cares? Like there are so many millions
- 9:42of theories and ideas and things that like people talk about as a
- 9:47part of her fandom and she wants it that way.
- 9:50She has created a fandom intentionally to do that.
- 9:53Like she has created a fandom around Easter egging and around
- 9:57speculating about her life. And like since her first album,
- 10:01looking in the liner notes like, oh, who's this song about?
- 10:04Who's she writing this about date, nice boys, all the things.
- 10:07Like she's wanted people to speculate about her life.
- 10:11That's how she's created the band culture that she has today.
- 10:16So truly, who fucking cares? Like, there's always going to be
- 10:20people of so many different thoughts, and I would always
- 10:23rather just share what I actually think because it's fun.
- 10:26And there's always other people who are like, yes, even if I
- 10:29feel like it's maybe a crazy take, there's always someone
- 10:31who's like, yeah, girl. And I'm like, thank you like.
- 10:33That's the thing, like what's even if it is a crazy take,
- 10:36who's crazier? Taylor Swift.
- 10:39So it's actually really not that crazy ever.
- 10:41Like sometimes I think I'm like literally losing my mind and
- 10:44then I'm like, oh, it's Taylor Swift.
- 10:46Like I'm she's always gonna one up us on the crazy scale.
- 10:51Always. And there's always too many
- 10:53things that are too, like, perfect to be coincidental.
- 10:58You know what I mean? Like, there's always too many
- 11:00things that happen that I'm like, yeah, there's no way that
- 11:02this was just happened to go this way.
- 11:05Like, she is planning it. She is the mastermind.
- 11:08She has told us that. I just choose to believe it.
- 11:10Like Wig? Also, who knows what's going to
- 11:16happen with like platforms and like censorship and like just,
- 11:21we already get banned from even just saying gay.
- 11:24So I feel like it's just so important to like continue like
- 11:27pushing the limits of like what's allowed on the Internet.
- 11:29It's kind of crazy that like in America, we're like, worried
- 11:33about saying something gay. Lesbian on online.
- 11:38And even like your interpretation of like the most
- 11:40famous artists and like, people are still upset about it.
- 11:43It's like really trippy because in Tumblr times I feel like this
- 11:48never happened. Oh, like, well, and I feel like
- 11:52fandoms were more, I don't know, like there's so much beauty in
- 11:56TikTok and like how many people you can reach with it.
- 11:58But I do feel like it has really ramped up and escalated some of
- 12:03the hate because so many other people are seeing the content
- 12:07now that like weren't on Tumblr. It was all the gaze in one
- 12:11corner of the Internet, all of us talking about it together.
- 12:13And other people weren't really like coming to those sites.
- 12:16And now on TikTok, it's like a video goes viral and then you
- 12:19have 1000 comments telling you you're insane for possibly
- 12:24believing a beautiful blonde pop star could be queer.
- 12:27Like, when it's really, it's really not that deep.
- 12:30Yeah. It's so true and I feel like
- 12:33it's always the videos that I don't want to go viral that go
- 12:38viral or that you get more people and I'm like, God damn
- 12:41it. I say this to my girlfriend all
- 12:43the time. Like there will be days where
- 12:44I'm like, OK, I'm gonna film 3 videos today.
- 12:46Like I'm gonna put on a mug, I'm gonna do my hair.
- 12:49Like I'm gonna sit down in my little filming spot.
- 12:52And then those videos like do fine, the people, you know, the
- 12:56gaylors see them and whatever. But then a video where I'm like
- 12:59in my pajamas looking busted just like yelling about
- 13:02something gets so many views. I'm like OK, like why is this
- 13:06the one that gets? And it's always like my least
- 13:10palatable ones. It's like always throwing a
- 13:13little bit out there and I didn't really think it through.
- 13:14It's like everything is a fucking thesis.
- 13:18It's just my thoughts and you don't have to agree.
- 13:21Like how many times do we see fucking insane shit?
- 13:23Like we don't engage with like neo Nazi content because what's
- 13:27the point? I mean, not that we're getting
- 13:29Nazis on the other side. That was a bad comparison.
- 13:31I want to take that off Like we don't engage with, I don't know,
- 13:37people who like think other. Like Tavis content like I see it
- 13:41and I scroll by I'm like whatever like.
- 13:43Right. Unless it's like being like, oh,
- 13:45she's so small girl. And I'm like, oh, what this?
- 13:49I saw I saw a tweet from the other night when she was out to
- 13:52dinner with her parents and her friend Ashley.
- 13:55And it was like a picture of her walking up the stairs and
- 13:58someone tweeted it and was like, and in her head she heard baby
- 14:02watch your step. And I was like, I'm gonna throw
- 14:05up. Like, that is so disgusting.
- 14:10In what world? In what world does Taylor Swift
- 14:13need her meathead boyfriend to tell her to watch herself?
- 14:17Like she performs for 3 1/2 hours in heels on stage running
- 14:23around like doing a full performance.
- 14:27She does not need a man to like. Walk up the stairs and really
- 14:31fucking funny, like anyone who just like likes their
- 14:35relationship, whatever. Like it's really though like
- 14:40getting to a point where some people, and this is not
- 14:43everyone. I think like I know a lot of
- 14:44people who are like, oh, I think they're cute and I'm like mind
- 14:47like I mind my business. It's this like reframing of
- 14:52like, oh, a real man should be taller than you.
- 14:54A real man should be bigger than you.
- 14:57A real man is not like it's making me defend Joe Allen.
- 15:01I'm like studious boys. I'm like, what the fuck am I
- 15:05doing? Like, but it's like just a weird
- 15:08like sexist, like it's just like reinforcing these like
- 15:12patriarchical norms and like everyone being like, oh, finally
- 15:15she has someone. And like, I do think it's a lot
- 15:18of young they. Got like teenager swifties,
- 15:23yeah. Thinking about like, I don't
- 15:25know, these edits of them talking to each other, like like
- 15:27you said, like baby watch yourself.
- 15:30I feel like we need to gather all of the craziest Tavis
- 15:33content and just like put it in one area and like laugh.
- 15:37Literally do a Part 2 to this episode and just go through all
- 15:41that. Like, I know it's scary, though,
- 15:43to think about all those like teenage, it's really young
- 15:46Swifties who are like seeing not be the conversation around
- 15:50Taylor and Travis and like thinking like, oh, that's what I
- 15:53need to strive for. That's what I need to like
- 15:57pursue in my life is that kind of relationship.
- 16:01It's also really interesting to me, though, that like Swifties
- 16:03will always there's never any criticism of Taylor, right, or
- 16:06any like actual thought on what's happening When she was
- 16:09with Joe Alwyn and it was like, oh, he just loves her so much.
- 16:12He wants to keep their relationship secret.
- 16:14Oh, they just, you know, like they want to stay together with
- 16:17just the two of them. They don't want anyone to see
- 16:19them. Like he's just protecting her.
- 16:20He's just taking care of her. And then once they broke up, it
- 16:22was Joan's a villain. He's horrible.
- 16:25I can't believe he made her do that.
- 16:26Travis let's her be in the spotlight.
- 16:28He's proud of her. He shows her off.
- 16:30Like they flip the script so, so quickly.
- 16:33I'm just like, whatever, man. She's actually dating in the
- 16:36moment. I remember the freaking Ratty
- 16:38Healey era how mad people were at me and at other gaylors for
- 16:43being like no this is disgusting that she's hanging out with him.
- 16:46Like especially given the timing of right.
- 16:49Like horrible horrible person. And so many people were so angry
- 16:53at that. And it's like no you don't have
- 16:55to blindly just follow or support everything she does.
- 16:59Like you can love her without being like she is this perfect
- 17:04God who I just everything she does I'm gonna praise her for.
- 17:08Like I feel like that's a lot of the hate that gaylors get, is
- 17:11that we're not always just like. You know, on her it's like,
- 17:15right? Like AI mean sometimes we
- 17:18wouldn't even go too far to like hold someone accountable.
- 17:20But I think with a lot of like Palestine stuff, like I really
- 17:22appreciate Gaylins for being like wow, like Taylor Swift
- 17:26hasn't said anything about Palestine or like hasn't said
- 17:28anything about any of these like anti trans bills coming out.
- 17:31And like that's not hatred. It's just being like, oh look,
- 17:35our fave, we would love for our fave to like do a little bit
- 17:39more and that's OK 'cause he's a fucking billionaire.
- 17:41But like a lot of people see that as like being so mean to
- 17:45her and leave her alone. And they feel like they need to
- 17:48protect her. And I'm like, she's OK.
- 17:51She's fine. Like, trust me, she is fine.
- 17:54She can handle a little bit of. And if she doesn't want to see
- 17:57it, she's not going to look at it like she's going to scroll
- 17:59by. Yeah, it's crazy.
- 18:01And I remember during the election this year, I got a
- 18:04bunch of hate for being irritated that she was just
- 18:08putting out these, like, neutral, make sure you go vote,
- 18:12make your voice be heard. And it like, wasn't until right
- 18:16before, you know, a week or something before the election,
- 18:18yeah, that she was like, OK, I'm endorsing Kamala Harris.
- 18:22But until then, it was just all these general register to vote,
- 18:25go vote without actually giving any of her thoughts on, like,
- 18:29who she was voting for or why she was voting for them.
- 18:31And I'm like, girl, you have such a big audience of people
- 18:35who will just blindly follow you and do what you say, regardless
- 18:39if that's a good or a bad thing. Like that's the reality of it.
- 18:41So at least give them your information on like, why you are
- 18:47doing this and why you're voting for her.
- 18:48And I got so much hate for that and like told I didn't know what
- 18:51I was talking about and I didn't know how elections work and all
- 18:54these things. And then I shouldn't be looking
- 18:55to a celebrity for advice. And I was like, no, I'm not.
- 19:00But I'm saying I think she should use her platform and the
- 19:04like largest stage that she has in the world essentially for
- 19:08anything, anything. Like, wait, I remember that era.
- 19:12That was crazy because she was spotted with Brittany Mahomes at
- 19:17the US Open before she even said anything about who she was, like
- 19:21specifically voting for. And a lot of people were like,
- 19:25we can't assume that you're voting for Biden just because
- 19:30you did four years ago. You're hanging out with Trumpers
- 19:33like we don't know. And like with Kansas City
- 19:36Chiefs, players who are like and like Chiefs are very.
- 19:40Imaged now. Exactly.
- 19:42So it's fair to ask that question.
- 19:44And then when she did endorse Kamala, the people were like,
- 19:48did you not trust her? And it's like.
- 19:52Maybe. No, I don't know.
- 19:53Like right, like what? She wasn't giving me any reason
- 19:56to trust her at that point. Like her image was giving very
- 19:59right leaning like and. You can't just like blindly.
- 20:05I mean, I guess you can people can do whatever they want, but
- 20:08there's a lot of people that put her on God like pedestal and I
- 20:12think get really worked up when anyone who says they're a fan
- 20:17and is a fan, like questions anything she does.
- 20:21And like that's not a healthy relationship to have with really
- 20:25nurse. I love that we were just kind of
- 20:27like talking about nothing. I mean, we talked about
- 20:30everything, but like under no topic, which I'm obsessed with.
- 20:35But I do think we should move into our like formal 2024 scaler
- 20:41highlights. I was at first going to say we
- 20:43should talk about like all of Era's sewer highlights, but that
- 20:46went on like the last 10 years. So I feel like he's been there
- 20:49right now. There were so especially at the
- 20:54end of the tour, there were so many surprise songs compilations
- 20:58that it felt like just boom, boom, boom, like every night.
- 21:02It was crazy. And we had a narrow down.
- 21:06But I do feel like, and maybe you can talk about the first one
- 21:09like this number one compilation was I feel like maybe some of
- 21:15the most confirming evidence of gay 100%. 100% like I so the
- 21:23it's nice to have a friend and Dorothea mashup was.
- 21:26I remember listening to that on the live stream and feeling like
- 21:31shocked that it was actually happening.
- 21:33Like rising? Literally like floating because
- 21:38that, like Dorothea, we've already talked about, I feel
- 21:40like within the Gaylord community for so long, Like, oh,
- 21:43she's referencing being a friend of Dorothea and being a friend
- 21:45of Dorothea. And like that in and of itself
- 21:48is a crazy reference for Taylor Swift to be making.
- 21:52But then for her to take it one step further and to literally
- 21:55sing, it's nice to have Dorothea and mash up.
- 21:59It's nice to have a friend with Dorothea literally confirming
- 22:03that theory that Gaylors have been talking about that she's
- 22:06calling herself a friend of Dorothy.
- 22:07Like, I don't know if there was anything any other louder
- 22:10surprise song than that one because it's undeniable.
- 22:15It's undeniable. And both of those songs are
- 22:18songs that I think Swifty's here as friendship songs when they
- 22:23are both love songs. And like, if you look at the
- 22:26prologue of Evermore, she refers to Dorothea as an old flame,
- 22:31like a rekindled old flame from high school.
- 22:34And it's nice. Right.
- 22:36It's not Selena Gomez like, and it's nice to have a friend.
- 22:41She talks about church bells ringing and rice being on the
- 22:44ground and walking home and like all these things that are
- 22:47wedding references and like being friends with your partner,
- 22:50which is such a lesbian experience.
- 22:52Like, it's such a lesbian experience to have your partner
- 22:55and your girlfriend be your best friend and to like, feel that,
- 22:59that I don't feel like, I don't know, maybe I shouldn't speak
- 23:01for straight people, but I just feel like that is a very lesbian
- 23:03experience that a lot of straight people don't experience
- 23:07in the same way. Like, I know a lot of my
- 23:08straight friends are like, yeah, I love my boyfriend, whatever.
- 23:11But my best friends are my people.
- 23:13And like, for me and for a lot of my queer friends, it's like,
- 23:17you know, my girlfriend, my partner is my best friend.
- 23:19Like, I want to be with her all the time.
- 23:21I'm obsessed with her, like and. Outside of like a romantic way,
- 23:26two things can exist once. And I also think like the fact
- 23:29that it almost seems like it starts out as like a friendship
- 23:31and it's like is this more is so traffic and like.
- 23:36So have experienced. That it's like, is this friends?
- 23:39Like, it's hard to like what's happening here.
- 23:41Yeah. Then the fact that she mashed it
- 23:43up is crazy. I don't even know if I've heard
- 23:47anyone even repeat that. I gotta be honest.
- 23:50Like. Because like you can't like how
- 23:51how do you like? And I think the only rebuttal
- 23:55people have is the like, well, she can write about queer
- 23:58stories without being a queer person.
- 24:01Like she, she's, she's writing from the Emily Dickinson's
- 24:05grandmother's. Like whatever the fuck they say,
- 24:08girl. Obsessed with Emily Dickinson
- 24:10and then like. And that just tells me she's
- 24:14deeply in the closet, like if that's what's happening.
- 24:17But you know, I haven't seen any rebuttals.
- 24:19People just ignore it or just say like, it's not that deep.
- 24:22The surprise songs aren't that deep.
- 24:24She's just she's just like putting songs together every
- 24:26night. And it's it's infuriating.
- 24:29It's so frustrating because I feel like Gaylors we watched
- 24:32such an interesting story be told throughout the surprise
- 24:35things of the era story and especially the last leg when she
- 24:38started doing the mash ups like. And it was so clear, the
- 24:42midnight or like the sunset, midnight, dawn, sunrise dresses.
- 24:49And then all of a sudden the dresses didn't mean anything,
- 24:52but they did mean something if they're Chiefs colors.
- 24:56Or New Orleans, I was going to say, I remember my because I was
- 25:00at night one in New Orleans and she came out in the Mardi Gras
- 25:04flag and I was like, OK, I said to my friend, I was like, she's
- 25:07either going to wear the bisexual flag or the lesbian
- 25:09flag with the 1989 outfits one night here in New Orleans and my
- 25:13phone was like, what? And I was like, no, like, trust
- 25:15me, she's going to do it because she's proving a point now.
- 25:17She knows how the flag she used for the first time, different
- 25:20shirt, skirt and boots to show, OK, I'm wearing a flag.
- 25:25And then was it night 3 in New Orleans that she wore the pink,
- 25:28blue and purple of the 1989 outfit?
- 25:31Like, but then that that doesn't mean anything.
- 25:33That's just coincidental. She just liked those colors
- 25:36together. Like, and that's what makes me
- 25:39crazy, I think, is that things only can mean something when
- 25:44it's not queer or when it's not gay.
- 25:46But once it is, then it's just she has no clue about that.
- 25:50She doesn't know anything about right?
- 25:52Like it's. And I feel like I literally
- 25:55would lose my mind if we didn't have this community.
- 25:59Like, I can imagine like seeing that.
- 26:03And like, because I've got a lot of queer friends, but not all my
- 26:06queer friends are specifically gaylors.
- 26:09And a lot of people are like, oh that's cool, that's cool.
- 26:11And I'm like. No, but like you don't
- 26:13understand. Right.
- 26:14I'm like, let's get into it because I think I would
- 26:18literally lose my mind. It's nice to have Dorothea or
- 26:20sorry, friend of Dorothy is literally probably the number
- 26:26one like most popular way to flag throughout all of American
- 26:32history. I'm trying to think of like
- 26:34another word. I mean, maybe like the yellow
- 26:37brick road or like it's one of the most irrefutable ways to
- 26:41flag. Like if you look up friend of
- 26:43Dorothy, obviously like the first thing that comes up is
- 26:45like two year code started in like the 40s.
- 26:48Like it's just so clear. It's.
- 26:50Always been a thing, yeah. So I it's just really beyond to
- 26:54me to see like teenagers and I hope they are teenagers and not
- 26:58like grown adults being like actually that's not it's like
- 27:03you don't know anything. I'm so.
- 27:06Learn your career history 1st and then we can circle back and
- 27:09discuss. OK, so the other one that was a
- 27:12crazy mash up was everybody's watching her, but I don't like a
- 27:15gold rush. And was this the same weekend as
- 27:19It's Nice to Have Dorothea Because I was trying to remember
- 27:22back? Wait, let's find out.
- 27:24Who would know? June 14th.
- 27:26June 14th was everybody's watching her.
- 27:28Yeah, OK. Well.
- 27:30Was that the same weekend? If not the same weekend then it
- 27:32was this. I mean, obviously the same month
- 27:34because they were both during Pride month, but I swear they
- 27:38were like back-to-back nice or like really close to each other
- 27:41in the same weekend. And that was another one that
- 27:44was mind blowingly crazy because she really confirmed that the
- 27:49muse of Gold Rush is a woman in the way that she mashed up those
- 27:53songs and like change the lyrics a little bit.
- 27:56I also love that she sang This is What You Came For because I
- 27:59think any reference to Calvin Harris and his The Gold Beard is
- 28:03just hilarious and cracks me up and I just know he was probably
- 28:07irritated about it somewhere that I told him to sing that
- 28:11song. No like.
- 28:13The era where like, no one was like, I love Taylor and Calvin
- 28:17Harris together. I feel like no one even like,
- 28:20weird or weird. No, literally.
- 28:22Like, yeah. I mean, she literally said like,
- 28:25I forgot you existed. I forget.
- 28:28That Masha, yeah, The way that she combined those where she was
- 28:32literally saying like everybody's watching her.
- 28:35But I don't like a gold rush. Like that scares me.
- 28:38That intimidates me that everyone's watching her and
- 28:40everyone is obsessed with her. Like, what is it like to grow
- 28:42up? I mean, gold rush is already.
- 28:44I feel like if you listen to it and actually listen to it, it's
- 28:47like, OK, this is very clearly about a woman.
- 28:50I don't know what man's hair is like falling into place like
- 28:52Domino's looking growing up so. Beautiful.
- 28:56I'm like, Oh my God, this is me trying and daylight was crazy
- 29:03because then we were like, Oh my God, she's going to step into
- 29:05daylight like trying to get into daylight.
- 29:08She didn't by the. Way.
- 29:11And she didn't. And was she in the lesbian flag
- 29:14dress when she sang that? There was something about the
- 29:17outfit that she was wearing that night that specifically I
- 29:19remember being like, Oh my God. Like yellow.
- 29:23Yeah, the yellow. Oh my God dress.
- 29:25She was in the bisexual, she was in the BI dress.
- 29:28Yeah, OK, OK. And it's like she's like trying
- 29:33to get into daylight but she's not there yet.
- 29:37It's just crazy how many clues she gives and like continuously
- 29:41over and over. And then like, when did Taylor
- 29:44Nation go live during? I don't want to live forever and
- 29:48dress. Yes, that was when that was like
- 29:53early in the year I. Did Taylor Swift's page.
- 29:55No, no, Taylor. So there was two different times
- 29:57that this happened where they went live and she's just saying
- 30:00I don't want to live forever. One of the times Taylor Nation
- 30:03went live and it was like a message from the tortured poets
- 30:05department. And I think this was like in
- 30:07May, after a little bit after TTBD came out and Taylor sang,
- 30:13she was in the yellow dress and she's saying I don't want to
- 30:14live forever on the piano. And that was like crazy, OK?
- 30:18And everyone was really confused, like, why did they go
- 30:20live for her to just sing that? But then the next time Taylor
- 30:24Swift herself went live on her Instagram and mashed up I don't
- 30:28want to live forever with dress and saying about how she doesn't
- 30:31want to live forever unless her best friend is taking her
- 30:34fucking clothes off. And then that was it.
- 30:36Again, there was no announcement.
- 30:38There was nothing else. She just like dove into the
- 30:40stage and the live went off. And I remember everyone on
- 30:44Twitter I'm being so confused and being, well, not gaylors but
- 30:48like general swifty population being like what the fuck?
- 30:51Why did she go live for that? What is going on?
- 30:53It really gives me the same energy as all the times people
- 30:56are clowning for Rep TV. And then she just sat down and
- 30:59played maroon every single time. Like she just wants to get
- 31:03everyone's attention and everyone's eyes on her to sing
- 31:06incredibly loud gay yeah, mashups.
- 31:09And yeah, the fact that she went live twice the same, I don't
- 31:13want to live forever, will forever be crazy and with no
- 31:15explanation to it. And Swifty's have never figured
- 31:18it out. It's the same as like the upside
- 31:20down phones from Midnight's Mayhem with me.
- 31:21Like why is it the eight and the three?
- 31:23Are we ever going to get an explanation of this?
- 31:25And I'm like, well, there is one, you just don't want to hear
- 31:28it so. It does feel like, yeah, like I
- 31:31don't want to say the 123 theory is like completely stupid
- 31:35because I think that like I wouldn't be surprised if that
- 31:38tracked. But I do feel like that's kind
- 31:40of the only theory like Swifty's Hold on to right now.
- 31:43And they're like, it's the 123 theory actually.
- 31:46Maroon, if you think about it, it's like 3 minutes and like
- 31:49they make these reaches and like, I think that's awesome.
- 31:52Like I don't, I don't think they're delusional for that.
- 31:54But it's like when we're like, oh, maybe she's bringing
- 31:57attention to this song because. For a reason like she's.
- 32:01Write gay song and she misses Karlie Kloss.
- 32:04Like when she sang Maroon. I think it was the second to
- 32:08last night of the heirs. To her, it was that final
- 32:11weekend and she said for the final time she started talking
- 32:16in the middle. That's the first time I think
- 32:18she's ever just started talking while she was singing and she
- 32:22was like for the final time and she was almost like pissed.
- 32:25She was like that. Can't.
- 32:27I don't get to sing this again. It felt like she was like, you
- 32:31better fucking pay attention. For the final time, I'm telling
- 32:34you to listen to this God damn song.
- 32:37And listen to these lyrics. Lips, The small lips, yeah,
- 32:42Swifties, it's always just Rep TV.
- 32:44And that's. I think it got really
- 32:45frustrating towards the end of the era's tour where it was like
- 32:49there was so much going on with the yellow brick road themes and
- 32:52the yellow brick road on her Instagram and karma and the
- 32:54orange door. And like all these different
- 32:57things that were happening, the new dresses and the new outfits
- 33:00and the like, bisexual flag dress to the blurpel dress to
- 33:03the lesbian flag dress. And all Swifties could talk
- 33:06about was are we going to Rep TV?
- 33:08Rep TV Is Rep TV coming? Are we going to get Rep TV
- 33:10before the end of the era is tour?
- 33:12Like, oh, this must, this must mean Rep TV.
- 33:14Oh, she's wearing this orange and pink dress because she wore
- 33:17the orange and pink dress at the Grammys or the VMA's or whatever
- 33:21it was during the reputation era.
- 33:23So we're going to get Rep TV. And I'm like, not everything
- 33:26it's about reputation. Like there is so much more to
- 33:29the errors to her story than just reputation.
- 33:32Reputation like. What's going to happen to them
- 33:34once reputation comes out? I think that Taylor kind of
- 33:37knows that like, once Rep comes out, there's no like pining for
- 33:44another rerecord. I mean, people want debut or
- 33:47whatever, but it's not the same obsession with like Rep.
- 33:50So I do feel like she's pushing it off.
- 33:52And then I want to hear your thoughts of, like, pushing it
- 33:56off. And I kind of see her, like,
- 33:58replaying the story of Bejeweled.
- 34:04I still feel like reputation and karma are, like, coupled
- 34:07together. And she should eventually come
- 34:09out through that way or that storyline and like, ghost the
- 34:14Prince and do all these things and like, But it just doesn't
- 34:17make sense to me that she would. Yeah.
- 34:19That she would be like at the peak of her fame and then
- 34:22release reputation. I still feel like she needs to
- 34:25be like scorned. To yeah, like to be able to
- 34:28really do it correctly. Yeah.
- 34:32I feel very strongly that like, if Taylor's ever going to come
- 34:36out more efficiently than she already has.
- 34:38Besides just like starting to show up with a woman to events
- 34:42and things and like, like just being like, yeah, this is like
- 34:46who I'm. And never saying anything and
- 34:47just letting people do what they want with it.
- 34:49I think it will be through lyrics that are so undeniable,
- 34:54which there already are so many that are so undeniable that
- 34:56people still dream girl like argumentative, antithetical
- 34:59dream girl. People will argue that till they
- 35:01are blue in the face. And I'm like, no, grammatically
- 35:04she's singing to a dream girl like there's nothing else that
- 35:06that could mean. And something I've thought for a
- 35:09long time is that Rep TV, either the vault tracks will have she
- 35:14her pronouns or she'll rerecord it all with she her pronouns.
- 35:18And I think that would be so iconic and so amazing and would
- 35:22kind of give the same effect as the original Reputation.
- 35:25Because I think a lot of people would be really mad at her and
- 35:28would feel like she's been lying to them and feel like she was
- 35:31lying to them during the original Reputation album.
- 35:34And right, like, and would not be happy about that and about
- 35:40her doing it in that way. I think a lot of people feel
- 35:42like they're owed a formal coming out from Taylor Swift,
- 35:45where like, I'm not gonna ever believe that she could be queer
- 35:49until she actually says da da da da da, Which, like, people don't
- 35:53owe you that. We're never gonna be press
- 35:54release or same statement that's gonna say Peeler is this
- 36:00identity like that? She's never going to and we
- 36:02don't even know. Maybe she's an unlabeled queen.
- 36:05Like, maybe she's like, I just date and hook up with people and
- 36:08whatever. Like, she doesn't owe us that.
- 36:11And so I think if she ever does, like, formally come out, it will
- 36:14just be through song lyrics or through all she or, you know, a
- 36:18song that's so undeniable. But even then, I do think
- 36:21unfortunately, people would be like, she's just writing from
- 36:24the man's perspective. Yeah.
- 36:25Like she's just a. Lesbian man's perspective.
- 36:27Yeah, like fully formed chorus of this song was written by
- 36:31Travis like. They're going to be like, oh,
- 36:33Travis says he's a lesbian because or like president girl,
- 36:37me too. And it all ties back to Drake
- 36:40and she partnered with Drake, so she's actually showing that
- 36:43she's going to work with Drake. She's.
- 36:44Double album like with Drake. Oh my God, I do think like the
- 36:50vault songs of rap have to be the gayest of all time.
- 36:55And she signals like I think it's the Great War where she's
- 36:58like something from the vault or the crypt.
- 37:02And there's just, I think that's why she's waiting so long to
- 37:07release it. Like she couldn't have just
- 37:08released Rep like a year ago and then just went on with the.
- 37:11Errors to her right It just. Wouldn't have made.
- 37:13No, and I think she likes like stringing everybody along a
- 37:16little bit and like edging us and being like, oh, it's coming,
- 37:19it's coming, but not yet right on the black nails from this
- 37:21weekend. Like I think that was she wants
- 37:24everyone to think reputation, but I don't think that means
- 37:26reputation is coming. I think she's just like do.
- 37:28You think? Do you see this?
- 37:29Do you see my black nails like like with her purse?
- 37:33But then it's it's not she just wants to keep everyone engaged
- 37:37and interested in her. And that is like a really big
- 37:39thing that keeps a lot of 50s clowning and people theorizing
- 37:43is like, when when is Rep TV going to come out?
- 37:46And so I hope, and she said in the Time magazine Person of the
- 37:50Year interview, like the vault tracks are going to be fire, I
- 37:54think is what she said Like. And so I could see, I've seen
- 37:58people talk about like if the reputation vault tracks are just
- 38:02going to be Karma, like the Karma album, if she's going to
- 38:05use that, which I could see that happening.
- 38:09But I could also see it being a totally separate album that we
- 38:12get like later and that maybe the Rep TV kind of sets us up
- 38:17for. Rising action like the climax
- 38:19and like karma might be like revealing truths that maybe we
- 38:23didn't know already. Yeah.
- 38:26I also feel like I wouldn't be surprised if she didn't release
- 38:30Rep next because, and we can go into TTPD after this.
- 38:35But Grammys last year, she that's when she announced TTPD
- 38:41and the fact that she was going to release another album and she
- 38:43was wearing black and white. And I swear to God, I literally
- 38:45was like sitting with my friends and I was like, this does not
- 38:48give reputation like the white. No, and like the like almost
- 38:52wedding dress look, the gloves and the lace and the like.
- 38:57Gonna be a wedding album about Travis and he actually releases
- 39:00like the gayest. Saddest and in an asylum help me
- 39:04like. And like she loves being in
- 39:06happy relationships and really silly releasing like the most
- 39:09devastating like folklore and evermore came out when she was
- 39:12supposed to be like happy in like a four year long
- 39:15relationship. And then she talks about on the
- 39:17air as to her like, yeah, I wrote folklore when I was like,
- 39:19alone by myself drinking bottles and bottles of wine every night.
- 39:22Like, OK, girly, that that doesn't really fit the same
- 39:25story. But then we get called crazy for
- 39:27saying she lies to us. Like, and she doesn't always
- 39:30tell us the truth. Like, well, it's the same as
- 39:33when Lover came out and everyone was like, Oh my God, this is
- 39:37such a happy love album. Like, this is so sweet and she's
- 39:41in so much love. And then you actually listen to
- 39:42the album and it's just like, heartbreaking, sad breakup
- 39:47devastation that BBC Live Lounge haunts me where she's in like,
- 39:51the black sparkly and she just looks so depressed.
- 39:54And she sings that song. Do you still love someone if
- 39:56they can't love you anymore? Like unconditional love?
- 39:58And then she does a cover of I Can't Stop Loving You.
- 40:02And it's she looks so heartbroken and like, how did
- 40:05anyone watch this in the moment and think she's in a happier
- 40:08relationship right now? She's so in love.
- 40:10Like she is living her best life with Joe Owen.
- 40:13Because I remember watching that and being like girlie is sad,
- 40:17girlie is down bad. Like that's like the clear
- 40:19difference maybe between like gaylors and I won't even say
- 40:21like Hitler's like Swifties who maybe like aren't even like
- 40:25don't even like hate Gaylors, but are just like consuming a
- 40:28very different type of Taylor Swift than we are, which is like
- 40:31we listen to her lyrics and try to understand her base and what
- 40:36she's saying in her lyrics and her songwriting.
- 40:39And and it's not her lying to us by giving a different public
- 40:43persona, which is performance Artler.
- 40:46And maybe not even, even if it wasn't even performance Artler,
- 40:49it's like how queer people stay like safe.
- 40:52And there's a lot of people that say, how could you be like a fan
- 40:56if you think that she's been lying to you?
- 40:58And it's like, it's not lying. And that's the same shit that
- 41:01gay people get when they come out.
- 41:02And they're like, you've been lying to us.
- 41:04And it's like, right. Because this is your reaction
- 41:07right now. Right.
- 41:07Like, because you're losing your shit.
- 41:10Like, yeah, so I just, it's protecting yourself.
- 41:13Right, right. So like reading her the lyrics,
- 41:15like after really listening to TTPD past that one night when it
- 41:19was like really chaotic and we had 36 fucking songs.
- 41:23Like how many was it like 24? Yeah, 3030, No 31, I think.
- 41:27One album. Yeah, a lot.
- 41:30So many. I was like, really just like so
- 41:32stressed out. And then finally, when I like
- 41:33started listening to it, I was like, oh, this is first of all,
- 41:37there's one little sad Tavis song on it.
- 41:41And then everything else is it's devastating.
- 41:43And she's not even saying that this is being written about a
- 41:47movie or about something else, like this is her own
- 41:50experiences. And it can't all be about Joe
- 41:54and Maddie Healey. It just.
- 41:56Like, well, and I feel like TTBD is such a good example of an
- 41:59album where she is writing about her own life and like you said,
- 42:03like her own life and her own experiences through the lens of
- 42:07romance and a relationship. Because I think that's what
- 42:10people expect from her is that she's going to write music about
- 42:13love and music about her relationships and music about
- 42:15whatever. But then if you're actually
- 42:17listening to the songs, there's often like, I feel like it's not
- 42:21even about a relationship Half the time.
- 42:22It's about her relationship with fame or her relationship with
- 42:26her parents or her relationship with the closet or her
- 42:30relationship with Hollywood. You know, there's so many other
- 42:33relationships, right? Like that she writes about
- 42:35through the lens of a romantic relationship so that it's more
- 42:40palatable to the general audience and the general world.
- 42:45But like, then if you really listen to it and analyze it
- 42:48more, it's like, oh, you're not writing about Joe Alwyn here.
- 42:52You're writing about Hollywood and the music industry and how
- 42:54it's fucked you up. And like how being in the
- 42:56spotlight for 20 years has created this crazy self-image
- 43:01that you have, you know, like, it's so much deeper than just
- 43:05Joe Alwyn, right? Like like the smallest man,
- 43:07whoever lived. I know people like pin that on
- 43:09Maddie Healey and I do feel like this album is so specific and
- 43:15shouting out like Maddie Healey tropes isn't any album I've ever
- 43:22heard. Like there was less Joe Alwyn,
- 43:25like little clues hidden in folklore, Lover or whatever then
- 43:32this album and I feel like it's to throw people off because it's
- 43:36so sapphic. Or at least that's what that's.
- 43:38Like Maddie Healey is used as the like bad, wrong relationship
- 43:42I'm not supposed to be in to symbolize the queerness because
- 43:46like the but daddy I love him visuals are all about like he's
- 43:52a bad boy. But like then you look at the
- 43:54but daddy I love him visuals on the errors tour.
- 43:56And it's religious trauma. It's her being like burned in a
- 44:00church and like pews and stained glass windows and like all these
- 44:05things where she is screaming about like these Sarah's and
- 44:08Hannah's don't accept me and they like don't want me to be
- 44:12who I am. I can't step into this church or
- 44:14I'm going to burn. Like, you know who gets told
- 44:15that? Queer people.
- 44:17You're going to burn if you come in here.
- 44:19You're going to burn in hell if you are a queer kid like.
- 44:22And she says it so many times, like the people that are hating
- 44:26her are the religious people like she says multiple times in
- 44:31TTPD and just it's just so interesting to me.
- 44:34The visuals and the aesthetic of the torture post department is
- 44:39just so different than like her outward persona of chiefs Tavis.
- 44:45It's. Yeah, like different.
- 44:47And I don't know how Swifties are listening to the same songs.
- 44:51I am like, I'll be listening to Cassandra and I'm like, is
- 44:54anyone listening to this song? How is prophecy like?
- 44:59Yeah, like, Oh my God, when she did, I did something bad in
- 45:02Cassandra and Magwoman. I levitated.
- 45:05Literally. She is so clearly being like I'm
- 45:08a witch, I am a witch, I am. Not who you think I am.
- 45:12Like you, a lot of you in the audience would not support who I
- 45:18am personally. Like and you just don't see it.
- 45:21But going to all the games and like chains and like chains
- 45:24around her waist, chains on her wrist.
- 45:26I'm like, oh, OK, that's really interesting.
- 45:29Like you are in chains. You are in a contract here where
- 45:34you like have to go here. I also saw something that said
- 45:37the Chiefs audience or like fan base has grown by 40% because of
- 45:43Taylor Swift. Like one of these Chiefs, like
- 45:47one of the Divas who's in the boxes with them.
- 45:49I think she's like, I don't know, married to an owner or
- 45:51something. But she said that there's the
- 45:53like, the like. Girl who's kind of scary.
- 45:56I think so and like the OR like one of the girls that gave
- 46:00Taylor a gift recently, like no, it's not one of the wags.
- 46:04It's like an it's like she's like, up high, like, her husband
- 46:07is like an owner or something. Like, and she's in there and
- 46:10they gave Taylor a gift to be like, thank you for all the good
- 46:13PR. And they've grown by, like, 40%
- 46:16since she started coming to games.
- 46:19And then it's, yeah, it's so crazy that like, she's there,
- 46:22but then her music is so sad. Emo lesbian.
- 46:26Yeah. Like I'm being trapped.
- 46:27I can't live this life any longer doing this, she's clearly
- 46:32saying. Like there's some people in town
- 46:34that I bestow upon my fagus smile.
- 46:37That's not New York, guys, OK. Right, like now and.
- 46:39Is she bestowing her like fagus smile?
- 46:43It's Kansas City. It's just so clear to me.
- 46:48I don't know, like it's beyond. Another thing I wanted to say
- 46:52about TTPD that is crazy to me and that I as a reference I
- 46:55don't get how people miss is the Fortnite music video came out
- 47:00like what three or four months after that New York Times
- 47:03article with the hairpin in her hair talking about how she drops
- 47:07hairpins. And then the Fortnite music
- 47:09video came out and she had 13 hairpins on each side of her
- 47:13bangs and like the 1st frame was just reference it like or just
- 47:18zoomed in on all. In her chain, those hairpins.
- 47:23Like in an insane asylum getting stock therapy.
- 47:27You know who they used to do that to?
- 47:28Queer people. Dear women.
- 47:31And do you really think that this is because she had a bad
- 47:34breakup and situation ship with Maddie Healey like that that
- 47:37sent her? It's just so frustrating because
- 47:39it's. So.
- 47:40It's so much deeper than that. And I'm like Taylor Swift has
- 47:43shown for 20 years, everything is that deep.
- 47:46Everything has a deeper meaning. She is never just making art for
- 47:50the hell of it. Like everything is intentional.
- 47:52She's doing everything with purpose and then it just will
- 47:56choose to miss it anyways. I totally agree.
- 48:00What do you think? Like do you think we're leaving
- 48:03through this is going to get more into like predictions?
- 48:06And I know we kind of talked about like karma and reputation,
- 48:08but like, do you think her leaving through the orange door
- 48:12means that karma is next? And do you buy into the whole
- 48:15like hurting to the lover house theory?
- 48:18And what do you say to people that are like, that door wasn't
- 48:21orange, It was like white this time or whatever the fuck?
- 48:28I I do think her leaving through the orange store means some,
- 48:32some form of karma is coming, but I don't know if it's like
- 48:35maybe how we're going to expect it.
- 48:38I I don't know. I just feel like being a fan of
- 48:39Taylor Swift personal and I've learned feel like lead us down a
- 48:42trail. But then it's not all, it
- 48:43doesn't always go where we think it's going to go.
- 48:45Like even if we're like on the right track, it's not.
- 48:48So it might not be like, OK, Karma the album, you know, like
- 48:51here it is, whatever. But I think it is leading us to
- 48:54some whether that's the reputation vault tracks, whether
- 48:57that's like completing her rerecords and then what's going
- 49:01to come after that, Like what she's going to be able to do
- 49:04after that. I've seen theories that she's
- 49:05going to start her own record company and her record label and
- 49:08be able to like have her own or like employ musicians through
- 49:13that, you know. So like, I think there is some
- 49:16version of Karma coming. I just don't know if we know
- 49:18what it is. I would love if we actually got
- 49:21Karma the last album. I feel like that's something
- 49:23that we've thought about for so long that I'm like, just what is
- 49:27it like? What does it sound like?
- 49:28What's the vibe? The Gardens of Babylon.
- 49:30Like, did it even happen? Is it real?
- 49:34Is it just like? Loss.
- 49:35Of glory, yeah. So yes, I think, and I think
- 49:39that was intentional. Like I got a, there's a lot of
- 49:42comments in my video about that that were like, well, she just
- 49:44stayed on the stage too long so she couldn't go down underneath
- 49:46it. Like, but she's Taylor Swift.
- 49:48This is her show. If she wanted to go down under
- 49:50the stage, like she ends every other show, she would do that.
- 49:52Like they would make that happen for her and she would tell.
- 49:55Them the door just closed. You can't go down that door.
- 49:58Right. Like that's, that's how that
- 50:00works. This is her show.
- 50:01She can do whatever the fuck she wants.
- 50:02She knew she was gonna hug all the dancers on stage and they
- 50:05were gonna have that moment. Like it's the last show.
- 50:08That's just kind of what happened.
- 50:09So she knew she was gonna be leaving through the back door
- 50:13and she knew that we have been talking about that being the
- 50:17karma door for, yeah, however long on the errors tour.
- 50:21Like I feel like since that orange door, people noticed it.
- 50:23They were like. Yeah, we've been.
- 50:24Talking about that, what is that like?
- 50:25Yeah, right. So it's like she knows that
- 50:27that's been a conversation and that if her going through the
- 50:32back of the stage like that was going to lead people to believe
- 50:34that. So unless she's really trying to
- 50:36throw us off in some way. But she's also been talking
- 50:38about karma for so long and in so many different ways.
- 50:41And like, like we keep coming back to the midnight era because
- 50:44of karma and because there's like more that's unfinished with
- 50:49that. So yes.
- 50:51And the people who say it's not orange, like, I don't know,
- 50:53where's your sense of imagination?
- 50:55Enjoy magic and fun. Like it's, it's not that deep,
- 50:59right? It was, do you trust me?
- 51:01Something else? I forget, do you think that she
- 51:05is still like on the yellow brick road?
- 51:08Like where do you think that theory is now?
- 51:11That's a good. Because I don't even really know
- 51:13if I've really thought about it. I feel like maybe she's still on
- 51:17her like journey. Yeah, I feel like.
- 51:19Yeah, Like, yes, because I don't feel like there was ever any
- 51:23real closure to it, you know what I mean?
- 51:25And like, it's something that she's referenced again in the
- 51:27Karma music video. She's on the yellow brick road
- 51:29in her Dorothy little costume, in her little outfit.
- 51:33And so I think yes, she is, but I don't know again how that's
- 51:37going to look. And like, I do think the Yellow
- 51:40Brick Road and Karma are really linked together, and I think
- 51:44we're going to come back to both of them at some point.
- 51:47But I feel like it's so annoying sometimes because she plans
- 51:51things out like so far where it's like, I think sometimes we
- 51:55get little pieces of something and then it's like a really long
- 51:57break before we get more. And she knows, like, OK, my next
- 52:00album or my next music video or the next art I put out is going
- 52:05to circle back to this story, but we just kind of get stuck.
- 52:08Yeah. Waiting and I feel like with the
- 52:10errors to her ending, it has felt really like not like what's
- 52:12next? Like, I don't want to be like,
- 52:14give us more, give us more. But like, just knowing Taylor
- 52:17stuff, like there's always something that's coming next and
- 52:20there's always something that she's planning.
- 52:21And I don't think she would be at all, these Chiefs games
- 52:25making all these appearances if there wasn't something she
- 52:27wanted to keep everyone's attention on her for, like.
- 52:30Yes, I was just going to say that because I remember like
- 52:34after the air sewer ended, we were all like, OK, this is first
- 52:39of all, interesting show to end it on.
- 52:41And I do think that was first of all, OK to say literally assume
- 52:45me grow up that this this concert seemed less of a closure
- 52:53and a Big Bang than maybe we're expecting.
- 52:56And I think is increasing our attention to like wait for
- 53:00something else. He's been so public.
- 53:04She's just been like. Everywhere, the games and out of
- 53:07New York and right, yeah. And I don't think she's going to
- 53:10have babies with Travis and take time off like especially because
- 53:16she hasn't released her reputation and the people that
- 53:19are saying and debut, the people that are saying like, oh, let
- 53:23her take a break. And like these albums I bet
- 53:25she's already recorded like I bet TS.
- 53:28What are we on TS12? Yeah.
- 53:31Feels like we've been on TS12 for a while but his club has
- 53:34already reported. Rep has already reported.
- 53:37Like 100% it's not like you're asking.
- 53:39Her to go back to work like right?
- 53:41You know, and like, she's Taylor Swift.
- 53:43That's like, she has said so many times, she loves her
- 53:47career. She loves making music.
- 53:48She loves doing this. And so I don't feel like it's
- 53:52that crazy to be like, yeah, what's what's going to be next?
- 53:55Like, let's talk about it. That's not us being like, give
- 53:57it to us now, but like. We're not talking about her
- 54:00fertility. Right.
- 54:03Freaking weirdos. And the craziest day, I feel
- 54:07like for me, and I was really tweaking this day and I think I
- 54:11single handedly like created theories that I don't think even
- 54:14panned out. But the day that she wore that
- 54:17yellow sweater and was like back to work and was holding her cat.
- 54:23And that was Karlie Kloss's birthday and wait, no, Karlie
- 54:27Kloss and. The They're at their wedding.
- 54:30Anniversary and it was also national no beard day and I was
- 54:36on a bus and I was like holy shit, it's like what's gonna
- 54:42happen? The glitch is over like I but
- 54:47anyways. That's I love Gaylord crash out
- 54:49days. I'm not gonna lie.
- 54:50That was me when and you were at the show.
- 54:52I think when Carly Kloss was at the Arrows tour.
- 54:55Yes, I was, I was working at camp.
- 54:59So I was like in I was staying in a cabin with like 20 other
- 55:03people and we'd like put all the campers to bed.
- 55:06And so I was like on TikTok. My girlfriend wasn't my
- 55:09girlfriend yet, but she also works at camp and she was
- 55:11working night duty. So she was like overnight in the
- 55:14cabin with the campers. And I was in our like staff
- 55:18cabin and we were like texting each other like, Oh my God, what
- 55:21the fuck is happening? What the fuck?
- 55:22Yeah, it was like one of our first, like, we called it like a
- 55:25date, but it wasn't a date because we like weren't
- 55:26together, but we were both. And she went from like not
- 55:31knowing any Taylor Swift songs, not knowing anything about
- 55:33Taylor Swift to watching live streams with me, like Mastermind
- 55:37doing all the things. Yeah.
- 55:39And so she was watching it and I was like, Oh my talking God,
- 55:41Kylie Kloss is there. And she was like, what the fuck?
- 55:44Like. And then we were talking about
- 55:45the blue outfits and she was like, do you think 1989 is
- 55:48happening? Like but I was in the base of it
- 55:52was so fun and so cute and but I was in the basement of this
- 55:55cabin like where the laundry is just watching a live stream like
- 55:59jumping around screaming. I saw the pictures of Carly
- 56:02Klaus and I was like Oh my God. I think I made like 25 tik toks
- 56:07that night like because I just was like what the fuck what the
- 56:10fuck. Like and like 2 days before I
- 56:12had made a TikTok when or no it must have been like a week
- 56:15before because I said Carly's going to show up on her birthday
- 56:18and Taylor's going to announce 1989.
- 56:19And obviously it wasn't Carly's birthday but it was like 6 days
- 56:23later and she showed up. And so I was like Oh my God,
- 56:25it's actually going to happen. Like she's going to announce
- 56:271989 with Carly there and then she then.
- 56:31And that was my crash out day where I was just like.
- 56:35That was what's going on because like, I wasn't even supposed to
- 56:39go to that concert. Like I was living in LA and all
- 56:42my friends like we had, so my cousin was visiting me and my
- 56:45cousin had already been to Philly.
- 56:47And I was like, I don't have enough money to go to the show.
- 56:50She was like, I don't have enough money to go to the show.
- 56:52And I was like, oh, it's like the last day of like, because at
- 56:56that point we didn't think she was ever coming back to the US
- 56:58So I was, I was the last year again.
- 57:00Yeah, she's in LA. I'm here.
- 57:04I know it's $1000 a ticket but. But like, fuck it, like.
- 57:09All my savings and I was like and by myself.
- 57:12You were in the same room as Carly and Taylor, like at the
- 57:15same time. I.
- 57:16Crashed the date but I like popped a gummy went by myself.
- 57:20I was in standing room only blocked half of the screen, but
- 57:23I was in the same like level that Carly was and I heard
- 57:26people like like skirmishing around and I was like making
- 57:29friends. I'm like hi Justin, is anyone
- 57:31else here alone? Like, it was just weird.
- 57:34And I was like, seeing people and I saw this, like, tall
- 57:37brunette girl walk by with a bunch of people, like, scribbled
- 57:40around and I was around her. Yeah, no.
- 57:42And then I checked Twitter and it confirmed.
- 57:45And my edible was hitting and I was like, holy shit.
- 57:48And then it came out and like, blew.
- 57:51And like, obviously 19, it was confirmed.
- 57:53That was crazy. And let us all remember that a
- 57:56month after this, she is spotted with Travis Kelce for the first
- 58:00time in the Chiefs game. That's how fucking quick he came
- 58:04into the picture. And it just feels like she came
- 58:07and got her back. They were like, we need a beard
- 58:10stat. Oh.
- 58:11Quickly like a guy. In Kansas City, in.
- 58:14Football. It just feels so.
- 58:16Crazy and that was like a crazy summer because that was after
- 58:20Joel went after Maddie Healey, before Travis Kelsey.
- 58:24It was like Gaylord heaven. I swear to God like that, like
- 58:26July and August, she. Has to have beards but I would
- 58:29love if she was like single for like longer than like a month.
- 58:33You know me too. Like I love single girl era,
- 58:36it's so fun. Right, let's talk about a few of
- 58:39these TPPD songs, like the gayest ones, then we can close
- 58:44out. Oh wait, let me see if I'm
- 58:45missing anything else. That was like a crazy gaylor
- 58:47highlight. Oh, her singing I kissed a girl.
- 58:49The VMA is crazy. Taylor, that was.
- 58:52Crazy and confirming Taylor is James, which everyone forgets.
- 58:58Everyone forgets all the time, but it has happened like two or
- 59:00three Times Now. Like it happened in those lyrics
- 59:03that Taylor capitalized me and right, James and Taylor Nation
- 59:09tweeted at one point a picture or a GIF of Taylor and was like
- 59:13don't forget James or something. And I feel like there was like
- 59:16one more thing where they have confirmed.
- 59:17Like there was something else. Yeah, like this teenage boy
- 59:20writing about being in love with a girl that's actually just
- 59:22Taylor writing, like, writing that song.
- 59:25And everyone's like, oh, but she's still strange.
- 59:27Like, and then Taylor longingly staring at the lesbians who had
- 59:31just gotten engaged during cardigan and she was holding on
- 59:34to that pole and she was like, I wish I could do that.
- 59:37Literally and like stared at them like so far through the
- 59:41crowd just like, wow, they're whatever.
- 59:44And then congratulated them and Taylor Nation, I think said
- 59:47something about. I think they did.
- 59:49I like the. Golden love, like yeah and like.
- 59:52Confirming. We're celebrating golden love,
- 59:55right? Golden love is queer love,
- 59:59Taylor. And Lawrence singing that entire
- 1:00:02thing, they were like holding each other's hands on each
- 1:00:05other. Literally like grasping each
- 1:00:07other. When Taylor got down on her
- 1:00:08knees. I was like, OK, OK, girl.
- 1:00:11Like, we get it, we get it. Are they together like?
- 1:00:17And like kissing her on the face after like they they just give
- 1:00:21like 2 sapphic besties who are like I love you so much like I.
- 1:00:25Love you. I love you.
- 1:00:25Yeah. And I'm pretty sure Florence
- 1:00:27Welch has confirmed being queer, or maybe not confirmed it, but
- 1:00:30like, I don't know. I went to a Florence Welch
- 1:00:32concert in like 2015 and she had us all take our shirts off and
- 1:00:36whip them around and I was like, OK, period queen like.
- 1:00:40OK, she's not publicly identified, but also that's AI
- 1:00:43saying that. And I don't really believe that
- 1:00:45there's a lot of people talking about like her being with girls
- 1:00:48and like. She has her own.
- 1:00:50Is about it, yeah. She's got her own voice, which
- 1:00:52maybe we'll step into. Period.
- 1:00:54Period. Talking Travis on stage during I
- 1:00:59can do the breaking, broken heart and like putting makeup on
- 1:01:02him. Did he put makeup on himself?
- 1:01:05Yeah. And he put it on her, and he,
- 1:01:06like, put it on his beard. Was that and the performance art
- 1:01:10of it all. And the fact that, like, we had
- 1:01:14already analyzed that part of the Eras Tour and been like, oh,
- 1:01:16my God, this is crazy. They're literally like, picking
- 1:01:18her up off the ground and dressing her up like a doll and
- 1:01:22forcing her to perform. And she's singing about how she
- 1:01:26can show her own lies after being dressed up like this doll.
- 1:01:29And then she brought him on stage for that specific part of
- 1:01:32the Eras Tour, like. I can show you lies.
- 1:01:35Here's here's one of them. Right.
- 1:01:37Like I'm miserable, nobody even knows because I have this man
- 1:01:40attached to me but I'm actually I fucking hate it here.
- 1:01:43Like, and the only way I can like believe that, like she's
- 1:01:48like happy with like Travis. He's like, if she's gay and
- 1:01:53she's like rooting for her like gay best friend.
- 1:01:55Right. No, literally.
- 1:01:56Then all of a sudden I would be like Oh my God, I love him like
- 1:01:58I would. The picture of her and Travis
- 1:02:02and Ross from her, the birthday party that they had for her, I
- 1:02:08loved it. So much matching rings.
- 1:02:11They're matching pinky rings, gay as fuck.
- 1:02:13But that to me really gave the energy of like, oh, OK, you're
- 1:02:16just like a lesbian and these are your gay best friends.
- 1:02:19That you my boyfriend's boyfriend.
- 1:02:21Yeah, exactly like that. You just, like, hang out with
- 1:02:24you, pretend to be straight together to, like, protect each
- 1:02:26other, but you're secretly all like, Kiki and watching fucking
- 1:02:29Drag Race together. Like that is the energy that
- 1:02:32they give me. Kiki, that's so sad.
- 1:02:35Exactly. People were excited about the
- 1:02:36relationship, whatever, it's serum prerogative.
- 1:02:39But like people saying that that's like the highlight of
- 1:02:42their experience of the heirs who were.
- 1:02:45I just find that weird when like the entirety is surrounding her
- 1:02:49relationship rather than like even your relationship to her
- 1:02:53music or like her being on stage and the fact that she had to
- 1:02:57close out. And I get it, it's for
- 1:02:59performance Artler, but it's still like stings when she
- 1:03:02closed it out by saying Karma is the guy in the chiefs.
- 1:03:06It's just like, oh God, really? We're ending with that.
- 1:03:10Like and it sounds like my favorite moment of all time.
- 1:03:12Like I swear like when she sang that indie people cheered louder
- 1:03:17during that part than any other part during the era is to where
- 1:03:20it's like you love her boyfriend more than her.
- 1:03:24Right. And like her attachment to a
- 1:03:25man, yeah, so many other parts of the areas to her too that I'm
- 1:03:29like, how are you not like losing your shit of vigilante
- 1:03:32shit? How are you not losing your shit
- 1:03:34during? You need to calm down like all
- 1:03:36these other moments that are so fun and exciting and that's what
- 1:03:39gets you. Right.
- 1:03:41And then we can close by doing a little shout out for TTPD
- 1:03:45because I know we all kind of forget that it was this year.
- 1:03:47I mean, at least I forget that it was this year.
- 1:03:49Me too and it feels like we've had TTPD for so long, like since
- 1:03:53it was part of the ERA tour, I feel like it just like blended
- 1:03:56in just. Funny, like her timeline is like
- 1:03:58she squeezes so much into a year that it's hard to remember
- 1:04:02everything. And I think that's also
- 1:04:05convenient because when she says stuff that's really gay, people
- 1:04:09forget about it. Like Chloe, Sam, Sophia Marcus,
- 1:04:13regardless of gaylorism she is either talking about a girl that
- 1:04:23she's interested in or a bi man and that is queer like.
- 1:04:28Hands down. And I feel like people just were
- 1:04:31like. Anyways, it's like, so funny,
- 1:04:34you know, like that. Like formally introduced
- 1:04:37bisexuality into the Taylor Swift cinematic universe.
- 1:04:41Like that song was like, this person that I am with is
- 1:04:46cheating on me with men and women.
- 1:04:48Like it's essentially the message of that.
- 1:04:51Song that I'm. Being cheated on with both men
- 1:04:53and women. Like regardless of that's a man
- 1:04:55cheating on her or a woman cheating on her, the person
- 1:04:58that's cheating on her is bisexual or queer in some.
- 1:05:02Some way? Form And she said that and yeah
- 1:05:04literally everyone was just like OK anyways, like I'm like no, do
- 1:05:08not realize that that's probably like intentional that she's like
- 1:05:11doing that for a reason like because she wants you to start.
- 1:05:14Seeing and hearing, thinking about sexuality in different
- 1:05:17ways and like like the news is not necessarily always the
- 1:05:22opposite gender like. Right.
- 1:05:24Yeah, like. And then just I think she said
- 1:05:27closet 2 times if not three times pull you into the closet
- 1:05:32closets of cedar and TTP. I don't know the I'm going to
- 1:05:36get you back, pull you into the closet lyric is crazy to me
- 1:05:39because that whole song I'm like, what else?
- 1:05:42Well, first of all, like once you fix your face, I'm going in,
- 1:05:45what would a man be doing to fix their face?
- 1:05:46Like that to me is very like, once you fix your mug, once you
- 1:05:49fix what's going on, OK, I'm going in on you.
- 1:05:53And then whether I'm going to like she says something or pull
- 1:05:56you into the closet, like what? What else would that would that
- 1:06:00mean besides like, I'm going to bring you into the closet with
- 1:06:02me. I'm going to make you be
- 1:06:04closeted with me. Besides hiding queerness.
- 1:06:07Like I, I just, I don't, I genuinely don't know what else
- 1:06:10that could mean or what you could be referencing with that.
- 1:06:13Yeah, and all of this comes after gaylords have been talking
- 1:06:18very loudly on the Internet about her saying like, and you
- 1:06:22don't have to hide in the closet during 7.
- 1:06:24And like talking about her saying that if for some reason,
- 1:06:29which she isn't, she's straight and doesn't want to lead us on,
- 1:06:33she's someone would be like, hey, just so you know, you've
- 1:06:37said closet a few times in this album.
- 1:06:40People are going to think that that's gay.
- 1:06:43She'd be like, oh, I didn't even think that.
- 1:06:44Let me take it out. Like this goes through so many
- 1:06:47people. They're like, hey, did you mean
- 1:06:49to say that? She's like, yes, did you mean to
- 1:06:51say like that you are guilty as sin?
- 1:06:55And you've been talking about religious trauma and the closet
- 1:07:00and all this stuff. All these things like she's
- 1:07:03like, yeah, well, and she knows Gaylors exist.
- 1:07:06Like she has known about Gaylors.
- 1:07:09Gaylors have been around since beginning beginning days of
- 1:07:14Taylor Swift since that SNL roomies scale.
- 1:07:16Like that is what really sparked galerism online and the online
- 1:07:20discourse of like, is she is she signaling something to us here?
- 1:07:25And so if she didn't want that happening, she wouldn't do these
- 1:07:28things that feed into the speculation.
- 1:07:30She wouldn't have lyrics. I'm going to pull you into the
- 1:07:32closet. Like if she was trying to
- 1:07:34reference, I'm going to pull you into this room so we can be by
- 1:07:37ourselves. Sort of said it in a different
- 1:07:39way, You know, like she knows what people are going to say,
- 1:07:43right? Like.
- 1:07:44We went to the closet. It doesn't like closet I.
- 1:07:48Haven't decided yet, but I'm going to get you back.
- 1:07:51Like, OK girlie, we get it, we get it.
- 1:07:53It's insane even though we could keep yapping.
- 1:07:56Yeah, so we need to do a Part 2 like you should have so much to
- 1:07:59yap about. Yay, thank you so much for
- 1:08:02joining like this is. So much fun.
- 1:08:05So for anyone listening this who isn't already following Jordan
- 1:08:07because I feel like everyone probably is, but go follow her
- 1:08:10on DJ Crocs and then I'll link everything else on whatever
- 1:08:15you're listening platform on Apple, Spotify or YouTube.
- 1:08:18It'll be in the notes. I will also have links to my
- 1:08:21merch and to subscribe and everything else we might need.
- 1:08:26Also, for anyone else listening who is new here, I release
- 1:08:28episodes every Tuesday. So even though we're recording
- 1:08:32this on Inauguration Day, which unfortunate reminder, Trump is
- 1:08:35no president, I. Literally forgot.
- 1:08:39I literally forgot because we were yapping so much.
- 1:08:41Like like when? It comes out happened, I'm sure
- 1:08:46he's probably signed 1,000,000 executive orders and we're going
- 1:08:50to be there for each other. And I'm also going to link some
- 1:08:52like other resources if people are like not doing well because
- 1:08:55that's so fair because it's a very scary time, but we're going
- 1:08:58to get through together, OK? I think that's it.
- 1:09:01Thank you so much for joining. Thank you.
- 1:09:03I had so much fun and we will definitely have to do it.
- 1:09:06Yeah, again, absolutely. Because we have so much, so much
- 1:09:09to gap. About so much we could go for
- 1:09:10hours. Bye everyone.
- 1:09:11Bye.
