- 3:33Speaker 2: S TERRYO wake up early like I'm sure he does.
- 3:36Speaker 7: Like he does he does businessman, Yeah, father, how early?
- 3:44Speaker 7: I'm not sure. Definitely pre h I'm gonna say six
- 3:49Speaker 7: forty five seven guys, which would be early early, not early.
- 3:55Speaker 2: For US.
- 3:57Speaker 7: Normal people early normal people. Yeah, yeah, Matt intersetate. It's
- 4:02Speaker 7: got a lot of traffic on it at six.
- 4:04Speaker 2: It's disgusting. Oh.
- 4:06Speaker 3: I love when LSU's finally like out for the summertime
- 4:09Speaker 3: or sprain, Like, my drive in is so much easier.
- 4:12Speaker 7: Today was weirdly okay on interstate and I got out
- 4:16Speaker 7: a little late today.
- 4:18Speaker 2: So it's funny you say that. So did I.
- 4:19Speaker 8: I pulled up about six ten, six fifteen this morning,
- 4:23Speaker 8: and yeah, it was better than normal.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Strange. I mean, I'm sure.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I guess some schools probably has something to do with
- 4:31Speaker 3: like even the state traffic. It's faculty're going in, people
- 4:35Speaker 3: that work at the campus.
- 4:36Speaker 2: I think LU was out now, aren't they? Yeah, their graduations. Yeah,
- 4:40Speaker 2: this weekend, isn't it. I don't know sure.
- 4:43Speaker 4: I don't think it's this weekend because softball's hosting the regional.
- 4:46Speaker 2: And it.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Wouldn't be able to write. Yeah, so I don't think.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Well, I got out the first pitch tomorrow. Yeah, yeah,
- 5:00Speaker 2: you're warming it up. How are you feeling about it?
- 5:03Speaker 4: Have you like be for real, like how practice. What
- 5:06Speaker 4: are we thinking about?
- 5:07Speaker 3: I had practice from like distance, get your mit, well,
- 5:12Speaker 3: he would not be the one. It's not Jay Bones Memphis,
- 5:17Speaker 3: your Memphis. Yeah, like you know, like the distance I
- 5:22Speaker 3: haven't really done and like the heel of the actual
- 5:27Speaker 3: mound the box compared to.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Yeah it's okay.
- 5:33Speaker 9: I mean you'll muscle it over the plate. It's just
- 5:36Speaker 9: like the like the direction, but yeah, right exactly.
- 5:41Speaker 3: I don't want to just get it over like and
- 5:43Speaker 3: not bounce it sometimes that baseball gets a little sticky.
- 5:47Speaker 9: Just put a little tar on your fingers, man like
- 5:51Speaker 9: until Drew Brees, like I was a thrower.
- 5:55Speaker 3: I was a thrower, lick his fingers seven times between
- 5:59Speaker 3: throws I made.
- 6:00Speaker 7: I made a paycheck throwing the ball right and but
- 6:03Speaker 7: even throwing the baseball now, like it's been a full
- 6:06Speaker 7: season of playing catch a lot of times.
- 6:09Speaker 5: Most days still playing catch.
- 6:11Speaker 2: I can.
- 6:12Speaker 7: I'll pull one low left pretty fast regularly, but it
- 6:15Speaker 7: just gets a little.
- 6:16Speaker 3: Quarterbacks oddly enough, y'all can't throw baseball.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's the motion, it's emotion is so much different.
- 6:22Speaker 3: We saw Sir Joseph Burrow try to at the Fanatics thing,
- 6:26Speaker 3: try to throw in different squares and he didn't hit
- 6:30Speaker 3: many of them.
- 6:31Speaker 8: I've seen it the other way too, Like guys that
- 6:33Speaker 8: are pitchers, they go out for football and they're not
- 6:35Speaker 8: great quarterbacks. I mean, think of an arm, but they're
- 6:38Speaker 8: not great.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Skins. Throws a nice football, does he.
- 6:43Speaker 7: It's just a litt different because when you throw up
- 6:45Speaker 7: when you throw a football, like it's coming off your
- 6:48Speaker 7: index finger and your hand like pronates this way right
- 6:53Speaker 7: when you throw baseball most of the time it's this way,
- 6:57Speaker 7: So when you throw it that way, I don't know
- 6:59Speaker 7: the ball kind of those some different things.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Did you get Did you get the visual? Yeah? Pro Nation.
- 7:10Speaker 9: The chat saying that the graduation is this weekend, so
- 7:13Speaker 9: I don't Maybe they were just hoe in Virginia.
- 7:16Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah, people are still in town.
- 7:20Speaker 9: But I wonder if it's because Tiger parks not like
- 7:23Speaker 9: on campus campus Virginia.
- 7:24Speaker 2: I just can't handle it.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Yeah, she's gonna have doing She's gonna have a softball series,
- 7:31Speaker 3: a baseball series, and graduation at the same time.
- 7:34Speaker 2: They do it actually, like almost every year about the case,
- 7:38Speaker 2: they worried about it.
- 7:39Speaker 3: Yeah, and they got hotels and everything. It's crazy. Sorry,
- 7:43Speaker 3: what's the that's the hookies and something else. And then
- 7:46Speaker 3: one of the schools like two nicknames?
- 7:48Speaker 2: Do they? I only know the hookies? They do, they
- 7:51Speaker 2: have two nicknames.
- 7:53Speaker 7: Got the we're gonna up on it's getting made fun
- 7:57Speaker 7: of last week. But Marlar by my firefox.
- 8:00Speaker 2: He tried to He tried tried it three different teas,
- 8:02Speaker 2: tried it three.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Times, and we all told him to leave you alone.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Yeah, because my internet.
- 8:07Speaker 3: He kept saying that he would snicker after it, like
- 8:09Speaker 3: he like the third time he got it, like we
- 8:12Speaker 3: heard him, like we heard you the first year.
- 8:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I just don't care what browser somebody.
- 8:16Speaker 8: I mean, not not really Jake like it says hokies,
- 8:18Speaker 8: and it says people also call them the gobblers, which is,
- 8:23Speaker 8: first off.
- 8:25Speaker 2: Okay, something hoy bird. The Gobblers.
- 8:30Speaker 7: Teams were occasionally referred to as chappiest techman.
- 8:37Speaker 8: Oh these are getting worse. Yeah, these are not getting
- 8:41Speaker 8: this is this is back of the day. H like
- 8:47Speaker 8: the Gobblers worst personally.
- 8:48Speaker 7: The nickname Hokies derive from the old hockey cheer written
- 8:51Speaker 7: by om Stolen eighteen ninety six. How fun is that?
- 8:58Speaker 7: Not very very fun? That's why you know, That's why
- 9:01Speaker 7: you don't get a regional Yeah, I know L s
- 9:03Speaker 7: U Baseball. At Game two and three, they've named the
- 9:06Speaker 7: starter one.
- 9:08Speaker 3: I think they're waiting for me to like see what
- 9:10Speaker 3: I got. Yeah, maybe since I didn't read shirt, I
- 9:13Speaker 3: still got. Well they don't know the starter, yeah, because
- 9:17Speaker 3: they might move somebody up give me my slot fair enough.
- 9:21Speaker 2: It is weird. You might see me throw.
- 9:23Speaker 3: You know, he might see this seventy one mile per
- 9:26Speaker 3: hour fastball and be like.
- 9:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you talk, you can get the seventy one. The
- 9:31Speaker 2: crow hop and skip off the mound. Are you going
- 9:37Speaker 2: to tell the rubber? Are you going to the front, No,
- 9:41Speaker 2: you go to the grass.
- 9:42Speaker 3: If they let me, Like, if they let me tell
- 9:44Speaker 3: the rubber, like, I don't know they're yeah that a
- 9:47Speaker 3: thing like are they worried about.
- 9:48Speaker 2: Like touching the dirt. I've seen people do it before. Lander.
- 9:52Speaker 3: You get a lot of baseball games. What will they
- 9:55Speaker 3: allow me on the rubber?
- 9:58Speaker 9: I think a lot of person I think Riley Green
- 10:01Speaker 9: did it all okay, Well, if Riley Green could do it,
- 10:03Speaker 9: by god, they just let me.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Do it because right, wrong or indifferent, whatever happens, I'm
- 10:09Speaker 3: towing the rubber.
- 10:10Speaker 8: Yeah, you're doing a full business, even if it's bad,
- 10:13Speaker 8: you're like, you know what, Yeah, Like.
- 10:16Speaker 2: Whether you toe the rubb or not, it's not going
- 10:17Speaker 2: to get us in the post season any faster.
- 10:19Speaker 3: No doubt. So I put some shoe marks in the
- 10:23Speaker 3: in the dirt there. It's not gonna you know.
- 10:26Speaker 8: Jakes as eligible as can get though, never never run
- 10:30Speaker 8: out of eligibility in College of Baseball, and eligibility doesn't
- 10:34Speaker 8: even actually matter.
- 10:35Speaker 2: And Shirt spent four years here and you can say
- 10:39Speaker 2: Jake played the pros. Doesn't really matter anymore. No, not
- 10:42Speaker 2: in sport.
- 10:43Speaker 4: Riley's towing the rubber and he went stretch?
- 10:46Speaker 2: Can we pull it? Can we?
- 10:47Speaker 4: I'm going to send it to he went stretch. He
- 10:50Speaker 4: went st Yeah, because I'm getting.
- 10:51Speaker 5: It from there.
- 10:53Speaker 2: There's too many things that can go wrong in the
- 10:54Speaker 2: wind up, I know, But.
- 10:55Speaker 3: I'm kind of thinking of a kind of like a
- 10:58Speaker 3: muddle like half stretch half wind up situation. How far
- 11:04Speaker 3: are you gonna step?
- 11:05Speaker 7: Are you gonna step far enough to where you're gonna
- 11:07Speaker 7: be going downhill a little bit?
- 11:08Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 11:09Speaker 3: I feel like you're asking a lot of questions and
- 11:11Speaker 3: you're making it like it's gonna be more difficult.
- 11:15Speaker 4: And he threw a strike?
- 11:16Speaker 2: Did he he played quarterback? Though? Yeah, Well, you just
- 11:19Speaker 2: got done saying quarterbacks can't throw baseball. Most of y'all can't.
- 11:24Speaker 4: We've seen it.
- 11:26Speaker 3: I agree, very successful quarterbacks can't.
- 11:29Speaker 2: Though. Okay, sure, okay, I'm with up. Yeah, Riley got
- 11:32Speaker 2: replaced by r I saw him.
- 11:33Speaker 5: Got it.
- 11:34Speaker 7: You gotta base it with the bananas. Recently, it's better
- 11:39Speaker 7: than Russell. He grinded out.
- 11:42Speaker 4: I don't know if you can full screen a TikTok.
- 11:44Speaker 2: Video, but you gotta base it now, you grind it out.
- 11:49Speaker 4: Here's Riley. He is on the rubber stretch, went straight.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Into that Casey mckinson, get out of the way. I'm
- 12:01Speaker 3: trying to watch the good Lord.
- 12:03Speaker 2: If we could, what is it you say you do?
- 12:06Speaker 4: What would you say?
- 12:07Speaker 9: Your role is.
- 12:11Speaker 2: Appearances? He just walked in front of the camera so
- 12:13Speaker 2: I couldn't see it. I know what he does. He's there.
- 12:18Speaker 5: You can't let Riley green.
- 12:22Speaker 2: The jeans. The man looked goods were tight.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Man looked real good. And he's really tall, like he's
- 12:33Speaker 4: taller in person than he looks.
- 12:37Speaker 7: Alright, that means the reason why I grew mustache really
- 12:40Speaker 7: really was because me, Well, you kind of started it,
- 12:45Speaker 7: and then we went to we went to see Stapleton
- 12:47Speaker 7: and Riley Green. So he's just not going to give
- 12:50Speaker 7: me my credit here started I said, you started it.
- 12:53Speaker 7: That was that was like the kickoff. But like right
- 12:55Speaker 7: around that time.
- 12:57Speaker 2: I saw Jake do it. But it wasn't cool.
- 13:00Speaker 9: Good look good in the mustache, like he really threw
- 13:04Speaker 9: a strike.
- 13:05Speaker 4: Now he has tennis shoes on.
- 13:08Speaker 2: You should work to show him ups were tight. Yeah,
- 13:14Speaker 2: has to have one boots with joggers. It's weird.
- 13:18Speaker 9: Alpha Yeah, I need them plane inner Sandman and you
- 13:24Speaker 9: just like channel your inner Rivera and you just sprint.
- 13:28Speaker 2: To the mound. Did you get that custom jersey? Try
- 13:31Speaker 2: it you got tomorrow?
- 13:33Speaker 3: You're not getting well. I mean it's out of my hands.
- 13:36Speaker 3: I told the person that makes them.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Yeah, they might give it to you.
- 13:42Speaker 2: There maybe maybe you know what.
- 13:45Speaker 3: It doesn't feel good now they'll say that, oh well,
- 13:49Speaker 3: I was hoping for one win last week.
- 13:50Speaker 2: If we got one win last week, I have made
- 13:52Speaker 2: sure that it was on a little less urgency. Now.
- 13:54Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, it's not as cool if you're like trying
- 13:57Speaker 3: to talk trash when you're bad, bad, bad, We're not great.
- 14:02Speaker 2: We don't have those pitching.
- 14:03Speaker 5: To night jater chump throat slash.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Yeah, that's probably not gonna work either.
- 14:08Speaker 3: You know, people a real sense of about the old
- 14:10Speaker 3: throat slash now double middle fingers and.
- 14:14Speaker 9: Doesn't solely kind of have like a he's got like
- 14:19Speaker 9: a pass.
- 14:19Speaker 4: Or maybe that Yeah, maybe that's not the move to
- 14:22Speaker 4: do that to solely slashed throat.
- 14:28Speaker 2: Did he know? Oh wait a minute, hold he did,
- 14:33Speaker 2: he didn't splash. We need it, we need we need
- 14:35Speaker 2: a gossip here, we need the goss.
- 14:37Speaker 3: All right, we'll take a break more O t B
- 14:38Speaker 3: when we come back here live from the Raisin King studio.
- 14:41Speaker 3: Off the bench, alright, go to e ms air dot net.
- 14:45Speaker 3: That is a website for Emerson Heating in Air. I
- 14:48Speaker 3: can tell you because I have worked with them multiple times.
- 14:51Speaker 3: They do work the way it's supposed to be done.
- 14:55Speaker 3: And I mean from customer service, I mean from showing
- 14:58Speaker 3: up on time. I mean from getting the job done.
- 15:01Speaker 3: Because look, I have two AC units and I had
- 15:03Speaker 3: two different issues with both units.
- 15:05Speaker 2: One was a.
- 15:06Speaker 3: Battery on one side, the other side was a clogged drain,
- 15:09Speaker 3: and they came in it was five minutes like total time.
- 15:11Speaker 3: Probably both projects together, and they're gonna do that for
- 15:15Speaker 3: you as well, because remember that eighty nine dollars OTB
- 15:18Speaker 3: listener only AC tune up to make sure you're ready
- 15:21Speaker 3: for the summertime.
- 15:22Speaker 2: EMS air done it. That's right.
- 15:23Speaker 7: Don't wait until it's ninety five degrees hundred percent humidity
- 15:26Speaker 7: to worry about that air conditioning unit. Go to EMS
- 15:28Speaker 7: air dot for Emerson Heating in the Air today and
- 15:31Speaker 7: get an AC tune up. That's emsair dot net for
- 15:34Speaker 7: Emerson Professional. And like Jake just said, you got that
- 15:36Speaker 7: OTV special eighty nine bucks right there, Emerson Heating in
- 15:40Speaker 7: the Air, best in the business. Ems air dot Net.
- 15:49Speaker 1: From the locker room to the airwaves. Gets off the
- 15:52Speaker 1: bench with Jacob Hester and Matt Flynn.
- 16:12Speaker 4: I remember how.
- 16:13Speaker 2: Did good to do? Did you look up where you
- 16:18Speaker 2: were supposed to be looking up over there? You said
- 16:19Speaker 2: you were putting numbers together, So did you do it? Or?
- 16:29Speaker 4: Okay, you know he's not on his A game today.
- 16:31Speaker 2: Yeah, you can't throw things at that. We're just trying
- 16:34Speaker 2: to get a passing grade at this point. Ah dper degree,
- 16:40Speaker 2: they say.
- 16:44Speaker 7: On our Instagram account, Chris Marler putout a I thought
- 16:47Speaker 7: was an interesting post.
- 16:49Speaker 2: You might know Chris from marlar mondays, Yeah, and Sinko
- 16:53Speaker 2: did Marler jesus uh.
- 16:56Speaker 7: He pretty much kind of laid out what and LSU's
- 17:01Speaker 7: football roster costs this year total forty two million, eight
- 17:05Speaker 7: hundred and forty thousand dollars. But it kind of breaks
- 17:08Speaker 7: it down from retained players, current players, high school players.
- 17:10Speaker 7: Then I broke it down into offensive starters and defensive starters,
- 17:15Speaker 7: which I found pretty fascinating. So of the forty two million,
- 17:18Speaker 7: almost forty three million dollars roster for the twenty twenty
- 17:22Speaker 7: six overall, twenty six point one million of that were
- 17:26Speaker 7: portal players that were having recruited and of course enticed
- 17:31Speaker 7: with money to come here. So twenty six point one million,
- 17:34Speaker 7: that's the chunk of the bulk of it, twelve point
- 17:38Speaker 7: six million and retained players and four point one million
- 17:41Speaker 7: total and high school players that were that were coming out.
- 17:45Speaker 7: So I broke it down. There's a couple of US
- 17:46Speaker 7: slides on this post and it breaks it down by
- 17:50Speaker 7: you know, projected roster starter on offense, projected starter on defense.
- 17:56Speaker 7: The defense total projected starters was nine million, thirty twenty
- 18:01Speaker 7: two dollars on the valuation offensively fifteen million dollars seven
- 18:08Speaker 7: hundred and ninety nine forty nine, and of course the
- 18:12Speaker 7: chunk of that coming with Sam Levitt six million and
- 18:15Speaker 7: left Eckle Jordan Seaton had four million dollars. So, coming
- 18:20Speaker 7: off of a year where the LSU defense was far
- 18:24Speaker 7: superior to the offense, which saw every offensive coach, of
- 18:29Speaker 7: course get fired, the head coach get fired, and most
- 18:32Speaker 7: of the at least a big core of the defensive
- 18:35Speaker 7: coaches retained. That's what happens when you have to go
- 18:39Speaker 7: out and recruit and completely revamp a roster on offense
- 18:43Speaker 7: and of course on defense, you have guys graduate, but
- 18:45Speaker 7: you got a lot of you got retention there on
- 18:47Speaker 7: defensive side of the ball. Offensively you barely have any.
- 18:51Speaker 7: I found it fascinating that the defensive or the offensive
- 18:54Speaker 7: roster is nearly double the cost of the defense, even
- 18:59Speaker 7: though they were two to three times better than the
- 19:02Speaker 7: offense was last year. So the difference between retaining players
- 19:07Speaker 7: and incoming players from the portal, and if you think
- 19:11Speaker 7: that more people will not continue to enter the portal
- 19:14Speaker 7: every single year, you're crazy. Yeah, because they command more money.
- 19:20Speaker 7: Being loyal is not going to pay. That's what I
- 19:25Speaker 7: got from it. That's a lot of money.
- 19:28Speaker 2: It's a lot of money.
- 19:30Speaker 3: There's a lot of money. It's going to be structured
- 19:37Speaker 3: where it slotted like the NFL. I mean, it's already
- 19:41Speaker 3: kind of trending that way. I think this year is
- 19:44Speaker 3: kind of the first year quarterbacks make this amount of
- 19:48Speaker 3: the sour cab running backs make that amount of.
- 19:50Speaker 7: Nobody look like LSU's receiver with the left tackle second
- 19:54Speaker 7: highest paid.
- 19:57Speaker 3: But think about the NFL, though left tackle is the
- 19:59Speaker 3: same and highest paid, or they add rusher to the
- 20:01Speaker 3: quarterback high I think about it.
- 20:04Speaker 7: The highest played, the highest played player on lci's defense
- 20:09Speaker 7: is one point five million.
- 20:12Speaker 2: There's another guy making over just over a million.
- 20:15Speaker 7: Jordan Ross is making just over a million, and your
- 20:20Speaker 7: left tackle is making nearly three times the highest played
- 20:22Speaker 7: player on defense.
- 20:24Speaker 3: That's really the only difference because typically on an NFL roster,
- 20:27Speaker 3: it's quarterback, left tackle, I had rusher.
- 20:31Speaker 2: Those are the three highest paid gay.
- 20:32Speaker 7: I mean, I guess that's traditionally been it, but I
- 20:34Speaker 7: guess now you got to look at other positions.
- 20:37Speaker 5: Receivers are getting.
- 20:41Speaker 2: Who else just got paid?
- 20:47Speaker 3: I can't remember, but some of the NFL, like Alec
- 20:50Speaker 3: Pearce got paid this aw season, So I'm looking at
- 20:54Speaker 3: it right now. NFL contracts that were given out this year,
- 20:59Speaker 3: we'll just go like one through I don't know ten
- 21:03Speaker 3: edge rusher, receiver, edge rusher, edge rusher, offensive line receiver, receiver.
- 21:08Speaker 7: Quarterback, edge rusher, guard, edge rusher. It's a crazy world,
- 21:19Speaker 7: and I know that every like in you know, college
- 21:23Speaker 7: is every If you break down everybody's valuation on positions
- 21:27Speaker 7: and what they're spending on offensive defense, it's going to
- 21:30Speaker 7: be all reactionary. If you're bad on defense, you got
- 21:32Speaker 7: to go spend more on defense and offense. Bat on
- 21:34Speaker 7: offense like LSU is, you're gonna spend more on that,
- 21:37Speaker 7: and you're gonna spend more on it. And you know,
- 21:38Speaker 7: obviously the two players skewed those numbers a lot. Yeah,
- 21:42Speaker 7: Sam Levitt and Jordan Seaton together are making more in
- 21:46Speaker 7: the entire defense. Yeah, those two guys combine, they're making
- 21:50Speaker 7: ten million and the defense. The total roster for LSU's
- 21:54Speaker 7: defense is just over nine million.
- 21:56Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:56Speaker 3: No, I guess like outside of it, like I said,
- 21:59Speaker 3: like a true edge rusher, like that's kind of what
- 22:02Speaker 3: it is in the NFL too, Like the edge rusher
- 22:04Speaker 3: normally would get paid in what you're talking about. But
- 22:08Speaker 3: that's going to be the norm moving forward. I've talked
- 22:11Speaker 3: with people that are running the budget for these college
- 22:13Speaker 3: programs and they say they want to said eventually, it's
- 22:16Speaker 3: going to get to where the quarterbacks this percentage of
- 22:18Speaker 3: it the running back, the receiver. Now, I don't know
- 22:22Speaker 3: if they can do that. I don't know if that
- 22:26Speaker 3: is something that's going to be able to get done, because,
- 22:30Speaker 3: like in the NFL, you kind of just accept I'm
- 22:32Speaker 3: a running back, So here's my ceiling. I can be
- 22:35Speaker 3: Christian McCaffrey by Jeanne Robinson, Jamier Gibbs, doesn't matter. Here's
- 22:40Speaker 3: my ceiling, right, Like fifty million dollar contract, it's kind
- 22:43Speaker 3: of the ceiling for running backs. College football players, like
- 22:48Speaker 3: the top tier running backs, like they don't I don't
- 22:50Speaker 3: know that they think that way yet.
- 22:51Speaker 2: Yep. I don't know how quickly you can get that done.
- 22:55Speaker 3: Like every player in college thinks they're the best thing
- 22:57Speaker 3: ever because they've been told they're the best thing since
- 23:01Speaker 3: they were in sixth grade. But like in the NFL,
- 23:04Speaker 3: you just kind of like, okay, well, I know what
- 23:06Speaker 3: my position is. I kind of know where the maximum
- 23:09Speaker 3: is going to be, where Christian McCaffrey's not going to
- 23:12Speaker 3: make as much as some guy you've never heard of,
- 23:14Speaker 3: right that plays maybe on the interior of the offensive line.
- 23:18Speaker 7: And they're going, like, you say, that's kind of going
- 23:21Speaker 7: to follow the NFL. That's what they wanted to That's
- 23:24Speaker 7: I think the problem. The hard part at college is
- 23:28Speaker 7: you don't know, I think what that salary cap is
- 23:31Speaker 7: going to be. I guess you didn't know they were
- 23:33Speaker 7: going to spend you know, exactly what forty two million,
- 23:37Speaker 7: eight hundred and forty thousand, because it was all raised
- 23:39Speaker 7: and there was like it comes and it comes and goes,
- 23:42Speaker 7: and you know, people that are donating money or given
- 23:45Speaker 7: whatever it is like they get emotional about different things
- 23:47Speaker 7: and they're like, Okay, well lost this, so I'm.
- 23:49Speaker 2: Gonna give a little bit more, don't.
- 23:50Speaker 7: You just don't know what it's going to be year in,
- 23:53Speaker 7: year out, so you don't know how to slot them.
- 23:55Speaker 7: And so like I'm looking at Sam Lovett six million dollars. Yeah,
- 24:00Speaker 7: of what LSU's paying for the twenty twenty six roster,
- 24:03Speaker 7: it's that's fourteen.
- 24:04Speaker 2: Percent of the salary cap, right right.
- 24:07Speaker 7: The NFL average is around for good quarterback about eighteen
- 24:11Speaker 7: to twenty two percent of the south, So he's still
- 24:13Speaker 7: under yeah, where the salary cap is, But that just
- 24:15Speaker 7: means so something else is kind of thrown it off, right,
- 24:20Speaker 7: something else is kind of taking that. So it's not
- 24:24Speaker 7: there yet and I'm sure it'll come, but it's going
- 24:25Speaker 7: to be a challenge though, because you're not going to
- 24:27Speaker 7: know how much money is going to actually be there.
- 24:29Speaker 7: You might have commitments from people and people that say
- 24:32Speaker 7: and handshake and promise, but it's not like a collectively
- 24:36Speaker 7: bargained salary cap number that you know you're going to
- 24:40Speaker 7: have or know you have to spend. Because what if
- 24:42Speaker 7: it's thirty seven million one year, What if it's forty two,
- 24:45Speaker 7: What if it's twenty one million, what if it's twenty five, Like,
- 24:47Speaker 7: you don't know what it's actually going to be, so
- 24:51Speaker 7: you're kind of guessing. But again, the crazy part is
- 24:55Speaker 7: these are all one year deals.
- 24:59Speaker 4: And then to like, yeah, we don't actually know how
- 25:02Speaker 4: they can be. It could be less.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Talked about him.
- 25:05Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, well that that part of it for sure,
- 25:07Speaker 3: but also it's a guess if they're gonna be worth
- 25:08Speaker 3: the dam.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Yeah, that too.
- 25:10Speaker 3: Think about baseball, we talked about that, like you missed
- 25:13Speaker 3: on all your portal editions. Well they still had to
- 25:16Speaker 3: get paid.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Yeah, you still had to get them here.
- 25:19Speaker 2: In on one year contracts. Right now.
- 25:21Speaker 3: It's like typically like if somebody gets a deal in
- 25:24Speaker 3: the National Football League, it's like, well they get hurt,
- 25:27Speaker 3: You're one, Okay, we got them for two more years.
- 25:30Speaker 3: You get paid in football and you get hurt. You
- 25:36Speaker 3: get paid for that year and guess what you can
- 25:38Speaker 3: leave the next year.
- 25:39Speaker 2: And then on the flip side, you're just check.
- 25:41Speaker 8: You give a guy a four year deal he's out playing,
- 25:45Speaker 8: and the team will say, it's not our fault, you
- 25:46Speaker 8: outplayed your contract. Yeah you're you're you're gonna make this
- 25:49Speaker 8: for at least the next two years. You pay a
- 25:51Speaker 8: guy and he's in All American, he's like, give me
- 25:54Speaker 8: more money or I'm leaving, no doubt.
- 25:55Speaker 2: I mean that.
- 25:56Speaker 8: That's that's a big difference there too. You play more
- 25:59Speaker 8: than what you think you're worth. The you're like, well
- 26:01Speaker 8: this guy's offering me more. Pony it up again. I'd
- 26:05Speaker 8: actually like to see.
- 26:07Speaker 7: So almost forty three million is the roster cost of
- 26:10Speaker 7: the twenty twenty six LSU football roster. So I just
- 26:14Speaker 7: we just added up the projected starters on defense salaries
- 26:19Speaker 7: projected starters on offense combined together, it's twenty four million,
- 26:22Speaker 7: eight hundred and twenty six thousand, So we got about
- 26:25Speaker 7: eighteen million more dollars to find and what would be
- 26:30Speaker 7: I guess projected backups, role players whatever that is.
- 26:33Speaker 5: So oh, it's not just starters making that money.
- 26:36Speaker 2: Let me tell you something, y'all.
- 26:38Speaker 3: You anybody would be surprised with some of the numbers
- 26:43Speaker 3: that some of these players are getting. And you'd be
- 26:45Speaker 3: like the casual fan not not you know, somebody listens
- 26:48Speaker 3: to this show or this station's gonna know the names.
- 26:51Speaker 3: But I would say a name and I'd say a
- 26:52Speaker 3: dollar amount and you'd be like, who what it would
- 26:56Speaker 3: it would shoe. And that's not just an LSU. That's
- 26:58Speaker 3: across the country and these at your conferences, I like
- 27:02Speaker 3: role players as a role player can be talking between
- 27:07Speaker 3: four to six hundred thousand dollars.
- 27:08Speaker 7: Yep, I mean good, I mean awesome, good for you, awesome,
- 27:11Speaker 7: awesome for Yeah, it's just you're it's kind of it's
- 27:13Speaker 7: kind of shocking of a forty three million dollar roster.
- 27:18Speaker 7: Just under twenty five of that is that projected starters. Yeah,
- 27:21Speaker 7: and ten of that is from two players. Yep, good
- 27:26Speaker 7: for them, go get it.
- 27:27Speaker 2: What's fullback, Megan ah zero?
- 27:32Speaker 3: You imagine what to be like if he was on
- 27:33Speaker 3: there though, right?
- 27:34Speaker 2: I mean fit one hundred?
- 27:37Speaker 5: Uh huh.

- 30:39Speaker 3: is a Titan, so played for John Harball, now is
- 30:45Speaker 3: playing for Jim Harball. You come from Baltimore, right, you
- 30:48Speaker 3: kind of go over little toughness, little.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Grit to you.
- 30:54Speaker 3: Here is Charlie describing football the way it should be.
- 30:57Speaker 10: Described roulet until I started dating Maddie, but then I
- 31:03Speaker 10: loved it. So it's like, I don't know if I
- 31:07Speaker 10: didn't like blocking, I just like didn't know, like something
- 31:12Speaker 10: like so beautiful about you're up by six points. It's
- 31:18Speaker 10: like third and three. You know you're running it. There's
- 31:22Speaker 10: two minutes left in the game. They have no timeouts.
- 31:24Speaker 10: You could the first time the game's over. You know
- 31:27Speaker 10: you're running it. They know you're running it. Your wife
- 31:31Speaker 10: knows you're running it, their wife knows they're running it,
- 31:34Speaker 10: and you still run it. It's like there's that is
- 31:36Speaker 10: more satisfying than any touch I've ever had, And like
- 31:39Speaker 10: that's kind of one thing I've grown to appreciate in
- 31:41Speaker 10: the NFL. It's like there's as much as this game
- 31:44Speaker 10: it will become. You know, you see the like I'm
- 31:48Speaker 10: a football like nerd, like I love, I love looking
- 31:51Speaker 10: at trends and stuff. And obviously there's last twenty years
- 31:53Speaker 10: of game's going faster, there's bigger or smaller, but there
- 31:55Speaker 10: will always be a place for physicality in this game.
- 32:00Speaker 3: It's the best feeling in football, Matthew, it's four minute offense.
- 32:03Speaker 5: Hey, hey, kind of chill out over there, buddy.
- 32:06Speaker 3: They know, we know, everybody knows we're running the football.
- 32:10Speaker 3: But when you can take somebody's will out of them
- 32:13Speaker 3: and you see it leave their body and four minute
- 32:16Speaker 3: offense and it's football utopia.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Do you just have to stand up and adjust yourself.
- 32:22Speaker 3: That's the way the Good Lord intended buttball to be
- 32:25Speaker 3: talked about. No matter what eleven personnel twelve personnel games
- 32:32Speaker 3: here games there there's always a four minute offense. There's
- 32:36Speaker 3: always a close out to a game. Can we run it?
- 32:38Speaker 2: Can we not?
- 32:40Speaker 7: We know we're running it. You know we're running it.
- 32:43Speaker 7: Our wives know we're running it. Sounds like a good
- 32:45Speaker 7: time for play action.
- 32:47Speaker 3: Nope, ain't putting in your hands, buddy.
- 32:50Speaker 2: It's all on us.
- 32:54Speaker 5: May be a good hard count.
- 32:57Speaker 2: My god, I hate that's football. Baby.
- 33:04Speaker 8: Half the time you're taking a time out, he was
- 33:05Speaker 8: wasting one.
- 33:09Speaker 7: When's the last time we saw a drama off sides work?
- 33:12Speaker 7: It's been a long time.
- 33:14Speaker 3: The players college football, you'll see it. You are sorry,
- 33:17Speaker 3: let me go back. You used to see it before.
- 33:22Speaker 3: It's hard to draw them all sides when you get that.
- 33:25Speaker 9: It's like the emphasis on the one of jamis gets
- 33:29Speaker 9: me every single time.
- 33:30Speaker 4: Jump off sides down.
- 33:34Speaker 5: I don't think I've seen it work in the NFL.
- 33:36Speaker 2: It's been a long time.
- 33:39Speaker 5: Didn't they try to? Didn't they hard count on the
- 33:40Speaker 5: toush bush?
- 33:41Speaker 2: That worked? Yeah, because they kept trying to time. Remember,
- 33:46Speaker 2: I think they're playing.
- 33:46Speaker 3: With third and short and they go out there and
- 33:51Speaker 3: it's like questionable down in distance or fourth and short.
- 33:55Speaker 3: It's questionable, like you should they really be out here?
- 33:59Speaker 3: And somebody jumped. I'm like, you, big dumb dumps. What
- 34:02Speaker 3: did you think was gonna happen? And that's defense, So
- 34:05Speaker 3: you know the guys are dumb dumbs. I blame the coach,
- 34:08Speaker 3: blame go to coach yet, but.
- 34:11Speaker 2: You gotta blame the green dot on that one.
- 34:13Speaker 7: That's true because the big big dummies on defense, they
- 34:17Speaker 7: really are.
- 34:19Speaker 5: So that's why you anticipated.
- 34:22Speaker 7: It's it's pretty funny seeing how like bad of actors
- 34:26Speaker 7: quarterbacks actually are when they have to do the fake
- 34:29Speaker 7: audible and flip their own and they're overacting, and then
- 34:35Speaker 7: the linemen are pointing like this, it's great.
- 34:40Speaker 3: The funny thing is like when you're doing all that
- 34:42Speaker 3: extra stuff, like you don't do that normally, No, you don't.
- 34:46Speaker 2: I used to. Oh my gosh, I used to.
- 34:48Speaker 3: I used to have to get on young running backs
- 34:50Speaker 3: because whenever they were free releasing. So free release, you
- 34:54Speaker 3: don't have a protection. You have a route and you
- 34:56Speaker 3: immediately get.
- 34:57Speaker 2: Into the route.
- 34:58Speaker 3: You don't have any protection, responsibilit and there's some protections
- 35:01Speaker 3: where you want to get the back out and you're
- 35:03Speaker 3: you know, he's probably gonna be the number one target.
- 35:05Speaker 2: You're gonna try to throw it to him quick.
- 35:07Speaker 3: Every young running back, every one of them, right, they'll
- 35:11Speaker 3: get up there and they'll.
- 35:12Speaker 2: Be like, look at me, I'm definitely blocking.
- 35:17Speaker 3: It's like, you don't ever do that unless you're free releasing.
- 35:21Speaker 3: They're like, oh yeah, no, I got I got safety corner,
- 35:24Speaker 3: safety to corner you're like trying to point out what, No,
- 35:27Speaker 3: you don't, you're about to free release, and then when
- 35:29Speaker 3: they've got a protection, they're dead steal. Their head doesn't
- 35:33Speaker 3: even move, like they try to look at the corner
- 35:35Speaker 3: with their eyes or whatever. It's like, you can you
- 35:38Speaker 3: can find so many tendencies if you watch film on
- 35:41Speaker 3: young football players. Next time you watch a game and
- 35:44Speaker 3: there's a rookie running back in he starts pointing at
- 35:46Speaker 3: safeties and corners, he's free releasing.
- 35:49Speaker 7: Same thing with same thing with defenders, and it doesn't
- 35:52Speaker 7: really matter like how high you were drafted either. No,
- 35:56Speaker 7: a rookies are dumbies. I was dumb when I was
- 35:59Speaker 7: a rookie, so I was. Charles Wentz picked me up
- 36:01Speaker 7: three times i first practice ever, like he was like, wow,
- 36:03Speaker 7: this guy, I mean, telegraph it much, you know what
- 36:07Speaker 7: I mean.
- 36:07Speaker 2: But it was like it was just so funny. I
- 36:09Speaker 2: always it was.
- 36:09Speaker 7: I love training camp because the first couple of weeks
- 36:12Speaker 7: of training camp and the fourth quarter of all the
- 36:14Speaker 7: preseason games is just like, ah, well you're dumb.
- 36:18Speaker 2: Oh cool disguise guy.
- 36:21Speaker 7: Kind of the same thing as the running backs looking
- 36:22Speaker 7: around safeties, but always like oh this this disguy's worked
- 36:25Speaker 7: in college.
- 36:26Speaker 2: Watch this. I'm gonna go down here, down left.
- 36:28Speaker 7: Yeah, he's gonna think I'm down and then at the snap,
- 36:30Speaker 7: I'm just gonna go back and it's gonna be unbelievable.
- 36:35Speaker 2: It's not. It's not. It's not anyway.
- 36:40Speaker 5: That's probably only interesting to you and I I.
- 36:43Speaker 2: Mean, I don't know.
- 36:45Speaker 3: If you watch film of like a young like linebacker,

- 38:24Speaker 3: free release, if he's got protection, or if he's running
- 38:27Speaker 3: the football based off his eyes, in his feet, in
- 38:29Speaker 3: his hand placement movement.
- 38:31Speaker 5: Mmm.

- 41:38Speaker 9: Groove, I don't know, like so I have this playlist
- 41:42Speaker 9: that I don't know. I make like random playlists that
- 41:45Speaker 9: like make no sense to anybody else, but this one
- 41:48Speaker 9: is a playlist that I have, and the title of
- 41:51Speaker 9: it this is what I feel like you would hear
- 41:55Speaker 9: at like a cocktail hour at a like really chic.
- 42:00Speaker 4: Elegant New York City wedding. All Right, it's so hyper specific,
- 42:04Speaker 4: but this is where this takes me.
- 42:07Speaker 2: It makes me.
- 42:07Speaker 9: It makes sense to nobody but me. I've never been
- 42:11Speaker 9: to one, but I just this is what I would imagine.
- 42:13Speaker 2: That is rock.
- 42:15Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 42:18Speaker 3: Okay, there's a new station on Serious and I hear
- 42:22Speaker 3: the commercials during our break, so I was like, yacht rock.
- 42:24Speaker 5: I'm like, maybe Alito shuffle mm hmm. That's on every yacht.
- 42:29Speaker 2: Rock I do hear rock a lot. I have no idea,
- 42:33Speaker 2: like who.
- 42:34Speaker 9: Would be a yacht rock person that I would know
- 42:36Speaker 9: besides the Beach Boys because I don't listen to the
- 42:38Speaker 9: Beach Boys.
- 42:40Speaker 2: Brothers.
- 42:43Speaker 4: Wait, there's one that I'm thinking about.
- 42:48Speaker 5: Mike McDonald's solo.
- 42:50Speaker 2: McDonald like, I feel like you would be Dan. So
- 42:55Speaker 2: I've listened to many yacht rock.
- 42:59Speaker 4: Really dig to Eat for Steely Dan in here.
- 43:01Speaker 5: I was, let's play some yacht rock.
- 43:03Speaker 4: No, I'm not into it.
- 43:07Speaker 2: I mean this is this feels like you're right pretty close.
- 43:10Speaker 9: To I don't feel like the Eagles are yacht rock,
- 43:13Speaker 9: but I don't know. Again, I don't dabble in yacht rock,
- 43:16Speaker 9: so I don't looking.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Right now, difference between yacht rock and soft rock.
- 43:20Speaker 3: Uh this this says.
- 43:24Speaker 2: Okay yacht rock bands. I guess I just don't know
- 43:27Speaker 2: the Doobie Brothers, hallow Oates, Okay.
- 43:32Speaker 4: I think of them more as like Steely Dan m M.
- 43:36Speaker 4: That's what I just said.
- 43:37Speaker 8: Christopher Cross, no idea Criss Cross, Okay.
- 43:45Speaker 3: Looking for some other ones that I just don't They
- 43:47Speaker 3: don't have the Dubes on there. Yeah, Doobie Brothers, yeah,
- 43:52Speaker 3: Michael McDonald led.
- 43:53Speaker 2: Era, Yeah.
- 43:54Speaker 9: I guess because I don't listen to yacht rock, like
- 43:56Speaker 9: I wouldn't consider hallow notes. M.
- 44:00Speaker 2: That's nice on playlist. Just look it up on your
- 44:03Speaker 2: preferred music app.
- 44:06Speaker 4: What about Jimmy Buffett?
- 44:08Speaker 2: No, that wouldn't be right.
- 44:09Speaker 4: Bruh.
- 44:11Speaker 9: You know how we talk about all the time, like
- 44:12Speaker 9: what do you what do you use Apple Music or Spotify?
- 44:16Speaker 4: Like that's the that's.
- 44:17Speaker 9: The debate amongst the general population, right, like Spotify or
- 44:21Speaker 9: Apple Music. I asked my cousin the other day, I said,
- 44:25Speaker 9: do you use Spotify or Apple Music?
- 44:28Speaker 4: This dude threw me for a loop.
- 44:30Speaker 2: Amazon Napster.
- 44:32Speaker 9: This man uses YouTube music, YouTube music. I said, you
- 44:38Speaker 9: need to go to jail. I said, are you just
- 44:42Speaker 9: like listening to lyric videos on your phone?
- 44:44Speaker 4: Like what are you doing?
- 44:45Speaker 9: But no, I guess it's like a separate app that
- 44:47Speaker 9: people use and they like it's separate from YouTube. And
- 44:50Speaker 9: I'm like, you need to go to prison, Like that
- 44:54Speaker 9: is crazy.
- 44:54Speaker 7: You have an iPhone or an Android Nokia.
- 44:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 45:01Speaker 9: I have never heard anybody in my entire life say
- 45:04Speaker 9: that their music streaming platform references YouTube music.
- 45:08Speaker 2: I know that was the thing.
- 45:10Speaker 5: I think I've heard of somebody using Amazon Music.
- 45:13Speaker 4: I've heard of that.
- 45:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, because it comes with Prime. If you have Prime,
- 45:16Speaker 3: you get definitely that.
- 45:19Speaker 4: You can only get Garth Brooks on.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Amazon place you can get Garth.
- 45:22Speaker 3: Yeah, it's like if you have a SERI, she doesn't
- 45:26Speaker 3: play Garthlexa plays Garth.
- 45:29Speaker 5: Okay, it's not changing my life much.
- 45:33Speaker 4: And then he said, I feel so free after telling
- 45:35Speaker 4: you that.
- 45:36Speaker 3: M s A. I've been trying the m s A
- 45:41Speaker 3: said he uses YouTube music as well, and it comes.
- 45:43Speaker 4: From that is crazy.
- 45:46Speaker 2: So if you buy premium, you get I guess kind
- 45:49Speaker 2: of like the Prime.
- 45:51Speaker 7: I don't need to pay for Spotify them, that's what
- 45:54Speaker 7: we're saying. If I have Amazon, obviously I still watch commercial.
- 45:59Speaker 3: I have used, says Pandora, because I can put a
- 46:02Speaker 3: genre in and get tons of songs.
- 46:04Speaker 4: I don't hate Pandora. I just don't usually use it.
- 46:06Speaker 3: But that's what we own Pandora at Serious XM. And
- 46:08Speaker 3: I didn't know still a thing it is.
- 46:10Speaker 7: I didn't know still think like originally that was the
- 46:11Speaker 7: only place you could go to a certain.
- 46:13Speaker 5: Type of radio. Yeah, I make a playlist, but they all.
- 46:15Speaker 2: Do it now. You just type it a song and
- 46:17Speaker 2: it just pops up a whole.
- 46:18Speaker 5: Playlist for you.
- 46:21Speaker 7: Poof all right, I don't know the last time, like
- 46:24Speaker 7: I curated my own playlist.
- 46:25Speaker 2: I just pick a song I like and I go
- 46:27Speaker 2: to radio. Yeah you sure, edgy, yacht rock.
- 46:31Speaker 4: I do a little both.
- 46:33Speaker 2: I pick a song every time I use the word curate.
- 46:34Speaker 2: Not a big deal.
