- 0:02Welcome to Bible Chat where we have.
- 0:04Devotional conversations rooted in Scripture and relevant for
- 0:07today, March 26th. The power of listening.
- 0:13There is a. Big difference between hearing
- 0:15words and actually listening. You can hear your name called,
- 0:19hear advice given, hear truth spoken, and still not let any of
- 0:22it reach your heart and honestly.
- 0:25A lot of life pushes. Us in that direction, we are
- 0:28surrounded by opinions, pressure, noise and endless
- 0:31voices telling us what matters, what success looks like and how.
- 0:35We should live in the middle. Of all that noise, learning to
- 0:39listen well is a spiritual strength.
- 0:42Proverbs, chapter 13, verses 1 to 2.
- 0:44Says a wise. Son hears.
- 0:46His father's. Instruction.
- 0:48But a scoffer does not listen to rebuke from the fruit of his
- 0:52mouth. A man eats.
- 0:53Good, that shows us that. Listening and speaking are
- 0:56deeply connected. What you are willing to receive
- 0:59shapes what comes out of. You a teachable heart produces
- 1:03healthier words, wiser choices. And better outcomes.
- 1:07But a proud heart. Resists correction and often
- 1:09creates pain that did not need to happen then we.
- 1:13Look at judges. Chapters 11:50 and see Jeff Toss
- 1:16stepping into a difficult moment.
- 1:18There was conflict, pressure, and real responsibility.
- 1:22In times like that, courage matters.
- 1:25But courage without. Wisdom can become reckless.
- 1:28The lesson here is not just about action.
- 1:31It is about listening to God, receiving guidance, and then
- 1:35moving forward in obedience. Some battles are won before they
- 1:38begin because someone had the humility to listen first.
- 1:42That matters in. Everyday life too.
- 1:45Listening can save you from regret.
- 1:47Listening to godly correction can keep you from repeating the
- 1:50same mistake. Listening to wise voices can
- 1:53protect your. Future.
- 1:55Listening to God's Word can steady your heart when emotions
- 1:58are loud and decisions feel confusing and listening takes
- 2:02humility. It means admitting you do not
- 2:04know everything. It means being open to
- 2:07correction. It means slowing down enough to
- 2:10hear what God may be saying through.
- 2:12Scripture through wise. People and through the gentle
- 2:15conviction of the. Holy Spirit.
- 2:18The truth is not. Every loud voice.
- 2:20Deserves your attention. But God's voice does.
- 2:22His wisdom builds you. His truth guards you.
- 2:25His guidance leads you into peace and strength, so do not
- 2:29just react to every opinion around you.
- 2:32Learn to listen well. Because the choice.
- 2:34To listen can shape the direction of your life more than
- 2:36you. Realize let's.
- 2:38Pray Heavenly Father, thank you for speaking truth, wisdom, and
- 2:43life into my heart. Help me to be teachable and
- 2:45humble, willing to listen when You correct me and guide me.
- 2:49Guard me from pride that ignores wisdom and teach me to hear.
- 2:53Your voice. Above the noise around me, let
- 2:55my life be shaped by your truth and lead me in the path that
- 2:58honors you in Jesus name, Amen. What if the most important
- 3:04question in your life deserves more than a shallow answer?
- 3:07Does God Exist is a powerful, thought provoking series that

- 3:22confronts the mystery of existence itself and asks why
- 3:25anything exists at all. Book 2, The Cause behind the
- 3:28Cosmos, examines the origin of the universe and whether it
- 3:31points beyond itself. Book 3, Design or Accident,
- 3:35wrestles with order and complexity.
- 3:38Are they products of chance or intelligence?
- 3:40Book 4, The Moral Signature, explores why objective right and
- 3:43wrong may require a source beyond human opinion.
- 3:47Book 5, The God We Cannot Escape, considers conscience,
- 3:50longing, and humanity's persistent awareness of God.
- 3:53Book 6, From Reason to Revelation, asks whether the God
- 3:57who exists would also speak. And Book 7, Denying God,
- 4:01examines the internal tensions of unbelief in the deeper
- 4:03implications of rejecting the divine.
- 4:06Written in clear, accessible language for seekers, skeptics,
- 4:09students, and curious minds, this series invites honest
- 4:13reflection and careful thinking. If you're ready to explore the

- 4:27Reading Plan Proverbs chapter 13, verses 1 to 2.
- 4:32World. English Bible a wise son listens
- 4:35to. His father's.
- 4:35Instruction, but a scoffer doesn't listen to rebuke.
- 4:39By the fruit. Of his lips A man enjoys good
- 4:41things, but the unfaithful crave violence.
- 4:44Judges, Chapters 11:50. World English.
- 4:47Bible after Abimelech Tolah, the son of Puah, the son of Dodo, a
- 4:51man of Issachar. Arose to save Israel.
- 4:54He lived in Shamir in the Hill Country of Ephraim.
- 4:57He judged Israel. 23 years and died and was buried in Shamir.
- 5:01After him, Jair the Jilidite arose.
- 5:04He judged Israel. 22 years. He had thirty sons who rode on
- 5:0830 donkey Colts. They had 30 cities which are
- 5:11called Haveoth Jair to this. Day which are in the land of
- 5:14Gilead. Jair died and was buried in
- 5:16Camen. The children of Israel again did
- 5:19that which was evil in Yahweh's sight and served.
- 5:22The Bales, the Ashtaroth, the gods of Syria, The gods of
- 5:25Sidon, The gods of Moab, the gods.
- 5:28Of the children of Ammon and the gods of the Philistines, they
- 5:31abandoned Yahweh and didn't serve him.
- 5:33Yahweh's anger burned against Israel, and he sold them into
- 5:37the hand of the Philistines and into the hand of the children of
- 5:40Ammon. They troubled and oppressed the
- 5:42children of. Israel that year.
- 5:44For 18 years they oppressed all the children of Israel that were
- 5:48beyond the Jordan in the land of the Amorites, which is in.
- 5:51Gilead The. Children of Ammon passed over
- 5:53the Jordan to fight also against Judah, and against Benjamin, and
- 5:57against the House of Ephraim, so that.
- 5:59Israel was very distressed the. Children of Israel.
- 6:02Cried to Yahweh. Saying we have sinned against
- 6:05you. Even because we.
- 6:06Have forsaken our God and have. Served the bales, Yahweh said to
- 6:10the. Children of Israel, didn't I
- 6:12save you from the Egyptians and from the Amorites, from the
- 6:15children of Ammon and from the Philistines, the Sidonians also,
- 6:18And the Amalkites? And the Malnites oppressed you,
- 6:21and you cried to me, and I saved you out of their hand.
- 6:24Yet you have. Forsaken me and.
- 6:25Served other gods, therefore. I will save you no more.
- 6:29Go and cry to the gods. Which you have chosen, Let them
- 6:32save you in the time of your distress, The children of
- 6:34Israel. Said to Yahweh.
- 6:36We have sinned. Due to us whatever seems good.
- 6:38To you only. Deliver us, please.
- 6:40Today they put. Away the foreign gods from among
- 6:43them, and served. Yahweh.
- 6:45And his soul was grieved for the misery.
- 6:47Of Israel. Then the children of Ammon.
- 6:49Were gathered together. And encamped in.
- 6:51Gilead The. Children of Israel assembled
- 6:54themselves together and encamped in Mizpah.
- 6:57The people, the Princess of. Gilead said.
- 6:59To one another, Who is the man who will begin to fight against
- 7:02the children of Ammon? He shall behead over all the.
- 7:05Inhabitants of Gilead now, Jeff. Taw the Jilidite.
- 7:08Was a mighty man of valor. He was the son of a prostitute.
- 7:12Gilead became the father of Jeff.
- 7:14Taw Gilead's wife. Bore him sons.
- 7:17When his wife's sons grew up, they drove Jeff Taw out and said
- 7:20to him, You will not inherit in our father's house, for you are
- 7:23the son of another woman. Then Jefta fled from his
- 7:27brothers and lived in the land of Taub.
- 7:29Outlaws joined up with Jeff Taw and they went out with him.
- 7:32After a while. The children of Ammon made war
- 7:35against Israel when the children of Ammon made war against
- 7:38Israel. The elders of Gilead.
- 7:40Went to get Jeff Taw out of the land of Taub.
- 7:43They said to Jeff. Taw, come and be our chief, that
- 7:45we may fight with the children of Ammon.
- 7:47Jeff Taw said to the elders of Gilead.
- 7:50Didn't you hate me and drive me out of my father?
- 7:52'S house. Why have you come to me now when
- 7:54you are in distress? The elders of Gilead said to
- 7:57Geftah. Therefore we have.
- 7:59Turned again to you, now that you may go with us and fight
- 8:02with the children of Ammon. You will be our head over all.
- 8:05The inhabitants of Gilead. Geftah said to the elders of
- 8:08Gilead, If you. Bring me home again to fight
- 8:10with the children of Ammon, and Yahweh delivers them before me
- 8:13will I be? Your head, the elders of Gilead
- 8:16said to Geftah. Yahweh will be witnessed between
- 8:19us. Surely we will do what you say.
- 8:22Then Jeftah. Went with the elders of.
- 8:23Gilead and the people made him head and chief over them.
- 8:27Jeftah. Spoke all his words before
- 8:29Yahweh. In Mizpah, Jeftah sent
- 8:31messengers to the king of the children of Ammon, saying.
- 8:34What do you? Have to do with me that you have
- 8:36come to me to fight against my land, the king of the children
- 8:39of Ammon answered the messengers of.
- 8:41Jeftah because Israel took. Away my land when he came up out
- 8:44of Egypt from the Arnon. Even to the.
- 8:47Jabak and to the Jordan now therefore restore that territory
- 8:50again peaceably. Jephthah sent messengers again
- 8:54to the king of the children of Ammon, and he said to him,
- 8:57Jephthah. Says Israel didn't take.
- 8:59Away the land of Moab, nor the land of the children of ammon,
- 9:02but when they came up from Egypt and Israel, went through the
- 9:05wilderness to the Red Sea, and came to.
- 9:07Kaddish, then Israel. Sent messengers to the King of
- 9:10Edom saying please. Let me pass.
- 9:12Through your land. But the king of Edom didn't
- 9:15listen in the same way he sent to the king of Moab, but he.
- 9:18Refused. So Israel.
- 9:20Stayed in Kadish. Then they went through the
- 9:22wilderness and went around the land of Edom and the land of
- 9:25Moab, and came by the east side of the land of Moab, and they
- 9:29encamped on the other side of the Arnan, but they didn't come
- 9:32within the border of Moab, for the Arnan was the border of
- 9:35Moab. Israel sent messengers to Sihan,
- 9:38king of the Amorites, the king of Heshman, and Israel said to
- 9:41him, please. Let us pass.
- 9:43Through your land to my place, but.
- 9:45Sihan didn't trust Israel to pass through his border, but
- 9:48Sihan gathered all his people. Together and encamped in Jahaz
- 9:52and fought against. Israel, Yahweh, the God of
- 9:55Israel, delivered. Sihan and all his people into
- 9:58the hand of Israel, and they struck them.
- 10:00So Israel possessed. All the land of the Amorites,
- 10:03the inhabitants of that country, they possessed all the border of
- 10:06the Amorites, from the Arnon even to the.
- 10:09Jabak. And from the wilderness even to
- 10:11the Jordan. So now Yahweh.
- 10:13The God of Israel has dispossessed.
- 10:15The amorites from before. His people Israel.
- 10:18And should you possess them, won't you?
- 10:20Possess that which. Khemash, your God.
- 10:21Gives you to possess so whoever Yahweh our God has dispossessed.
- 10:25From before us, then will. We possess.
- 10:27Now are you anything better than Balak, the son of Zipper, king
- 10:31of Moab? Did he ever?
- 10:32Strive against Israel. Or did.
- 10:34He ever fight against them? Israel lived in Heshbon and its
- 10:37towns and an error and its towns and in all the cities that are
- 10:41along the side of the Arnon for 300 years.
- 10:44Why didn't you recover them within that time?
- 10:47Therefore, I have not sinned against you, but you do me wrong
- 10:49to war against me. May Yahweh the judge be judged.
- 10:52Today between the children of Israel and the children of
- 10:55Ammon. However, the.
- 10:57King of the Children of Ammon didn't listen to the words.
- 11:00Of Jephthah. Which he sent him.
- 11:01Then Yahweh's spirit came on Jeftah.
- 11:04And he passed over Gilead. And manasseh and passed over
- 11:07Misbah. Of Gilead and.
- 11:09From Misbah of. Gilead, he passed over to the.
- 11:11Children of Ammon. Jeftah, vow to vow.
- 11:13To Yahweh and said. If you.
- 11:15Will indeed. Deliver the.
- 11:16Children of Ammon into my hand. Then it shall.
- 11:19Be that whatever comes out of the doors of my house to meet me
- 11:22when I return in peace from the children of Ammon.
- 11:24It shall be Yahweh's. And I will offer it up for a
- 11:27burnt offering. So Jeff Dahl passed over to the.
- 11:30Children of Ammon to fight against them and Yahweh
- 11:33delivered them into his hand. He struck them from error until
- 11:36you come to minneth even 20 cities and to able cheramim with
- 11:40a very. Great slaughter, so the.
- 11:42Children of Ammon were. Subdued before the.
- 11:44Children of Israel Jeff Dahl came to Misbah.
- 11:47To his house. And behold, his daughter came
- 11:49out to meet him with tambourines and with dances.
- 11:52She was his only child. Besides her, he.
- 11:55Had neither son nor daughter when he saw her.
- 11:57He tore his. Clothes and said, alas my
- 12:00daughter. You have.
- 12:01Brought me very low and you are one of those who trouble me, for
- 12:04I have opened my mouth to Yahweh and I can't.
- 12:06Go back she. Said to him, My father, you have
- 12:10opened your mouth to Yahweh due to me according to that.
- 12:12Which has proceeded. Out of your mouth.
- 12:14Because Yahweh has. Taken vengeance for you on your
- 12:17enemies, even on the children of Ammon.
- 12:20Then she said to. Her father.
- 12:21Let this thing be done for me, leave me alone two months that I
- 12:25may depart and go down on the mountains and bewail my
- 12:27virginity, I and my companions. He said go.
- 12:31He sent her away for two months, and she departed, she and her
- 12:34companions, and mourned her virginity on the mountains.
- 12:38At the end of two months, she. Returned to her father, who did
- 12:41with her according to his vow which he had vowed.
- 12:44She was a virgin. It became a custom in Israel.
- 12:47That the daughters of Israel. Went.
- 12:48Yearly to celebrate the daughter of Jeff Taw the Jilidite.
- 12:51Four days in a year, the men of Ephraim.
- 12:54Were gathered together. And passed northward and they
- 12:57said. To geftah, why did you pass?
- 12:59Over to fight against the children of Ammon and didn't
- 13:02call. Us to go with you.
- 13:03We will burn your house around you with.
- 13:04Fire, Geftah said. To them I and my.
- 13:07People were at great strife with the.
- 13:09Children of Ammon, and when I called you, you didn't save me
- 13:12out of their hand. When I saw that you didn't save
- 13:14me, I put my life in my hand and passed over against the children
- 13:18of Ammon, and Yahweh delivered them into my hand.
- 13:21Why then have you come up to me today to fight against me then?
- 13:25Jeftog gathered together. All the men of Gilead and fought
- 13:28with Ephraim. The men of Gilead struck Ephraim
- 13:31because they said. You are.
- 13:32Fugitives of Ephraim you Jilidites in the middle of
- 13:35Ephraim and in the middle of Manasseh the.
- 13:38Jilidites took the. Fords of the Jordan against the
- 13:40Ephraimites whenever a fugitive of Ephraim said.
- 13:43Let me go. Over the men of Gilead said to
- 13:45him, Are you an Ephraimite? If he said no, then they said to
- 13:49him, Now say shibboleth. And he said.
- 13:51Sibboleth. For he couldn't manage to
- 13:53pronounce it correctly. Then they seized him and killed
- 13:56him at the Fords of the Jordan. At that time 42,000 of Ephraim
- 14:00fell. Gefdah judged Israel six years.
- 14:04Then. Gefdah, the Jilidite.
- 14:05Died and was buried in the cities of Gilead.
- 14:08After him Ibsen of Bethlehem judged Israel.
- 14:11He had thirty sons. He sent his thirty daughters
- 14:14outside his. Clan and he brought in 30
- 14:16daughters from outside his clan for his sons he judged Israel
- 14:20seven years. Ibsen died and was buried at
- 14:23Bethlehem. After him, Elon, the Zebulunite
- 14:26judged. Israel.
- 14:27And he judged Israel 10 years Elon the Zebulunite died and was
- 14:31buried in age Allen in the land of Zebulun.
- 14:34After him Abdun the son of Hillel the Purithonite judged
- 14:37Israel. He had forty sons and 30 son
- 14:40sons who rode on 70 donkey Colts.
- 14:43He judged Israel eight years. Abden, the son of Hillel the
- 14:46Purathonite, died and was buried in Purathon in the land of
- 14:49Ephraim in the Hill Country of the Amelkites.
