- 0:12SPEAKER_07: He comes up to me.
- 0:13SPEAKER_07: He's like, I'm going to high five of him.
- 0:14SPEAKER_07: He goes, I'm back.
- 0:21SPEAKER_07: What's going on, y'all?
- 0:22SPEAKER_07: Lando Brown Jr.
- 0:23SPEAKER_07: here.
- 0:24SPEAKER_07: Inside the pocket.
- 0:26SPEAKER_07: I'm with my brother, my dog.
- 0:28SPEAKER_07: Yes, sir.
- 0:30SPEAKER_07: My Paisan.
- 0:31SPEAKER_07: Big League.
- 0:32SPEAKER_00: What's going on, bro?
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: Congratulations, brother.
- 0:36SPEAKER_00: 2-0.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 0:37SPEAKER_00: 2-0.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 0:39SPEAKER_00: Playing at work, man.
- 0:40SPEAKER_00: Talk me through it, man.
- 0:41SPEAKER_00: You guys just came off of a huge victory against the Houston Texans, right?
- 0:45SPEAKER_00: That's a playoff team, like we talk about, right?
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: Talk to me about it, man.
- 0:48SPEAKER_00: Tell me about the week, the buildup, how was Houston, the whole nine yards.
- 0:52SPEAKER_07: No, man.
- 0:53SPEAKER_07: Honestly, that stadium was rocking.
- 0:54SPEAKER_07: I think the coolest part about this weekend's experience outside of what we did on the field, a lot of orange.
- 1:03SPEAKER_07: A lot of orange in the stance.
- 1:05SPEAKER_07: Shout out who they shout out who they nation.
- 1:07SPEAKER_07: Because I mean, it was like it was literally to the point, like the who they chants in the fourth quarter were loud as shit.
- 1:14SPEAKER_07: Like, and it, I mean, as an opposing team going into a hostile environment, you know, obviously we we all know what it's gonna be as players, and we we kind of embrace that as players.
- 1:27SPEAKER_07: And you know, our sideline is our sideline.
- 1:29SPEAKER_07: But when you look up in the crowds and you see all that black and orange, like that's a good fucking feeling.
- 1:34SPEAKER_07: And you know, our fans travel really well, man, which made, which made it made it all that much sweeter and better, you know, to be able to go out there and get a win.
- 1:42SPEAKER_07: Um, man, it but it was overall though, you know, we had a lot of fun, man.
- 1:46SPEAKER_07: It was a it was a grimy, gritty game.
- 1:48SPEAKER_07: You know, it was it was that early week two first road game.
- 1:52SPEAKER_07: Uh, it was nice to kind of knock that type of rust off with some of the communication, you know, our defense being able to verbally communicate without crowd noise, you know what I mean?
- 2:03SPEAKER_07: Offensively, us having to deal with the crowd noise and and uh you know being our different cadence and and you know communicate that way, man.
- 2:11SPEAKER_07: It was it was really cool and it was it was also awesome to come out of there with a win.
- 2:16SPEAKER_07: And the way that we did it, uh when I look at uh our football team and and kind of where we are at this point in the season, um it's it's really exciting.
- 2:26SPEAKER_07: And the best part to me is we're not playing our best football yet.
- 2:31SPEAKER_07: Right.
- 2:31SPEAKER_07: And that's that's on that's an all three phases.
- 2:35SPEAKER_07: For sure, for sure.
- 2:36SPEAKER_07: Uh and so I'm just I'm just so I'm so excited, man, to to kind of see and where we continue to take things.
- 2:43SPEAKER_07: I know where we're gonna continue to take them, but overall, overall, it was a it was a good, it was a good win, man, and a good feeling.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: For sure, man.
- 2:49SPEAKER_00: It was great to great to see first and foremost.
- 2:51SPEAKER_00: Anytime who didn't come out with a victory, man, it was awesome to see.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I think that um the thing that one of the big talking points out of the game was Dexter Lawrence and his dominance, bro.
- 2:59SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Bro, like I mean, like, because you you know, when Cincinnati first traded the 10th overall pick from for him, there were so many people that were asking, did they trade too much?
- 3:10SPEAKER_00: Is that too much for a defensive tackle?
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: When you talk about a player like Dexter Lawrence that can do the things he he's able to do on the football field, talk me about that.
- 3:18SPEAKER_07: Bro, I I think first off, like people don't realize how important a good nose tackle is, like, in football, right?
- 3:29SPEAKER_07: Like when I think about like winning culture, you know what I'm saying?
- 3:35SPEAKER_07: And I think about like dynasties and shit, like I think of Vince Wilfort.
- 3:41SPEAKER_07: Yes, like I think of the type of personality and football player and leader that kind of guy was.
- 3:48SPEAKER_07: Like what he meant to that Patriots locker room and that window when he was a patriot.
- 3:54SPEAKER_07: Like I I think about I think about how important that kind of stuff is.
- 3:58SPEAKER_07: Even during my my small time in Kansas City, how important Chris Jones is.
- 4:03SPEAKER_07: I know he doesn't play nose tackle, he's defensive tackle, but like how important he is to that culture.
- 4:08SPEAKER_07: You know, when you look at what we've built here from a locker room standpoint, uh and a and a personnel standpoint, man, how Dex is so important to what we've been building as a person, let alone a player.
- 4:22SPEAKER_07: And then you turn on the tape and it's like, damn, how the what the fuck did he just fucking do that?
- 4:30SPEAKER_00: And it just pops off on the field, it pops off on the tape too, man.
- 4:33SPEAKER_00: I think that makes people like understand.
- 4:35SPEAKER_00: I feel like the Houston game was such a a reminder of who he is because you know there was people out there questioning his status, man.
- 4:41SPEAKER_00: I think he went out there and I think he proved in such a big way.
- 4:44SPEAKER_00: 0-4 on fourth and down for that for that offense, and I think that's credit to Dexter Lawrence.
- 4:48SPEAKER_00: Another guy I want to ask you about, man, Jonathan Allen.
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: Jonathan Allen, man.
- 4:51SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: That's two, that's now back-to-back weeks.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: He's had a sack.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: He had a sack week one, had a sack, week two.
- 4:57SPEAKER_00: Talk to me about Jonathan Allen, what he means to this defense, bro.
- 4:59SPEAKER_00: So much, man.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: So much to our team.
- 5:01SPEAKER_07: You know, uh, his veteran leadership has just bled through consistently, man.
- 5:04SPEAKER_07: And and we saw it every day in training camp and OTAs, just the way we all were competing against each other.
- 5:10SPEAKER_07: Uh, but you heard his message uh talking to the trenches before before the game.
- 5:14SPEAKER_07: And that shit, that shit really means something.
- 5:17SPEAKER_07: You know what I mean?
- 5:18SPEAKER_07: Like it means something to him, it means something to all of us.
- 5:20SPEAKER_07: And like that, like he's such a large part of two of like our identity and and and what it means to be a bangle and going into these games.
- 5:28SPEAKER_07: Like, John, John is somebody too, man.
- 5:30SPEAKER_07: Now like he's the same guy every day.
- 5:32SPEAKER_07: Like he shows up to work, he's the same dude.
- 5:35SPEAKER_07: He's working when he's out there practicing, he's working with the same intent every single day.
- 5:39SPEAKER_07: And so he's either easy to respect, easy to love.
- 5:42SPEAKER_07: I'm so happy for him, though, man, just being able to come here into this, you know, somewhat of a new newer system uh for him and and and fully embrace his role and and be who he's always been, man, a dominant football player.
- 5:54SPEAKER_00: Man, through and through, bro.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: I mean, I just thought watching that man live first.
- 5:58SPEAKER_00: I was like, first foremost, he's a dog.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: He is.
- 6:00SPEAKER_00: They got they got they got a vocal, uh multiple vocal leaders, man.
- 6:04SPEAKER_00: But a vocal leader, I mean, we I don't remember last time I saw a pregame uh speech like that, man.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: That got me fired up, and I was like, it made it made me feel like I was ready to suit up out there and play.
- 6:13SPEAKER_00: Then I was like, I saw y'all and I was like, I'm good.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Like I'm gonna stay, I'm gonna stay on the couch.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna stay on the couch, no, man.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: But that was great to see.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: Let me ask you this, OB.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: You know, we each and every single week, OB crowns his uh unsung hero of the week.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: Who's that for you?
- 6:28SPEAKER_07: Man, um I'm gonna go with I I got I kind of got three names.
- 6:34SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 6:35SPEAKER_07: Uh one being special teams, PJ Jewels.
- 6:39SPEAKER_07: I I he made it, he made he had a very large impact on the game on Sunday.
- 6:44SPEAKER_07: And he made some, he he did some shit that like we we would only ask PJ Jewels to do.
- 6:50SPEAKER_07: Okay.
- 6:50SPEAKER_07: And he he went out there and handled business on all four phases of special teams.
- 6:54SPEAKER_07: Like, I know there's some shit you may not see on the internet, but like my motherfucking dog handled business.
- 6:59SPEAKER_07: Like Dog, yes, dog, yeah, certified.
- 7:01SPEAKER_07: I really hope that you know what I'm saying, he's able to get into the Pro Bowl this year, uh, especially as a special teams ace, man.
- 7:07SPEAKER_07: Because like he he's been playing his ass off.
- 7:09SPEAKER_07: But what he did on Sunday was was really impressive.
- 7:12SPEAKER_07: Um another one being TJ Slayton, I I feel like he's he's been popping on tape consistently, yeah over and over again, man.
- 7:19SPEAKER_07: And what he did yesterday, especially in the run game, even in even in uh some of the past game, too, when he was in, uh, he showed up big time.
- 7:27SPEAKER_07: Yeah, um, and then my last one, I guess I'm gonna just group these two together, man.
- 7:31SPEAKER_07: But Cassius Howell and Cedric Johnson.
- 7:34SPEAKER_07: Uh Beast.
- 7:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I mean yeah, y'all know how I feel about it.
- 7:38SPEAKER_07: I've been talking about these boys.
- 7:39SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 7:40SPEAKER_07: Zed Johnson, two sacks.
- 7:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah, fuck as we talked about.
- 7:43SPEAKER_07: Two sacks?
- 7:43SPEAKER_07: Yeah, the rest of y'all surprised.
- 7:45SPEAKER_07: I'm not fucking surprised.
- 7:46SPEAKER_07: I see this motherfucker go to work every single fucking day.
- 7:49SPEAKER_03: Right.
- 7:49SPEAKER_03: I see Cassius Howell go to work every fucking day.
- 7:54SPEAKER_07: They worked their ass off, man.
- 7:56SPEAKER_07: So they they earn the right to embrace those moments and and uh they they went out there and did their thing.
- 8:01SPEAKER_07: Man, I love that, man.
- 8:02SPEAKER_00: I I think for me, I would say, uh, ah, that's that's tough, man.
- 8:06SPEAKER_00: You you took one of mine.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Yeah, who you had?
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: I had said it, right?
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because yo, I had said, I said, oh my god.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I want to give a special shout out, Shamar.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: Oh, Shamar, man, coming back, first game back, got his first sack, that's my dog, absolute beast.
- 8:21SPEAKER_03: He didn't even know what the fuck to do.
- 8:22SPEAKER_03: He sacked him.
- 8:23SPEAKER_03: I think he forgot this, like like shit was a shot.
- 8:26SPEAKER_07: Right, right, right, right.
- 8:27SPEAKER_07: What is my celebration?
- 8:28SPEAKER_07: Fuck it.
- 8:29SPEAKER_07: He was just lit.
- 8:29SPEAKER_07: No, I'm happy for him.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: Bro, Jamar with that catch.
- 8:33SPEAKER_07: Yeah, no, that was crazy.
- 8:34SPEAKER_07: Craziest catch I ever seen in my life.
- 8:36SPEAKER_07: Bro, first off, both of them, both of them were crazy.
- 8:38SPEAKER_07: Because the the the one obviously uh that Joe threw in like at the pawn.
- 8:45SPEAKER_07: Yeah, like from my perspective, I'm like, damn, it shit.
- 8:48SPEAKER_07: Is the ball going out of bounds?
- 8:50SPEAKER_07: Because it looked like Jamar falling, and then he just looked, he reaches turnaround, catches it, both feet in.
- 8:56SPEAKER_07: I'm like, damn.
- 8:58SPEAKER_07: Well, what was it?
- 8:59SPEAKER_00: What was your reaction when you saw that though?
- 9:00SPEAKER_03: I was just like, fuck, who the fuck can I celebrate with?
- 9:03SPEAKER_03: Who's close?
- 9:03SPEAKER_03: Because that was really far downfield.
- 9:05SPEAKER_07: But like, but I'm like, damn, like that was that was crazy to see, man.
- 9:10SPEAKER_07: Like it was that that shit was crazy to see.
- 9:12SPEAKER_07: Cause that that was like to me, it looked like the ball was going out of bounds.
- 9:15SPEAKER_07: Like from my perspective, like, you know, I I couldn't even necessarily comprehend how the hell number nine and number one make those type of plays happen.
- 9:23SPEAKER_07: And then the second touchdown, when Joe was uh rolling out to the right, he throws it, and from my perspective, uh, I think it's number two, I think it, I think it's the number.
- 9:33SPEAKER_07: I thought this guy could make a play on the ball.
- 9:35SPEAKER_07: I'm like, oh shit.
- 9:36SPEAKER_07: And then Jamar just comes out of nowhere and just grabs it.
- 9:40SPEAKER_07: Yup, yep.
- 9:41SPEAKER_07: And I'm like, damn.
- 9:42SPEAKER_07: And then it's funny because we and Joe had a moment and he's like so fucking tea.
- 9:48SPEAKER_07: He comes up to me, he's like, I'm going to high five of them.
- 9:50SPEAKER_07: He goes, I'm back.
- 9:54SPEAKER_03: I said five.
- 9:56SPEAKER_03: I was like, Yeah, what the fuck?
- 9:57SPEAKER_03: What the fuck, man?
- 9:58SPEAKER_03: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, bro.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: I'm back.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: I'm back.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: I'm back.
- 10:03SPEAKER_00: Like me and OB every single week.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: I'm back.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Yo, uh, another guy I want to shout out, man.
- 10:09SPEAKER_00: He took a lot of flag last year.
- 10:11SPEAKER_00: Eric Carter, man.
- 10:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 10:13SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 10:14SPEAKER_07: Dog, bro.
- 10:14SPEAKER_07: Yeah, bro.
- 10:15SPEAKER_00: Eric all again, too, though.
- 10:17SPEAKER_00: Another dog.
- 10:18SPEAKER_00: And he was getting praise.
- 10:19SPEAKER_00: Uh, he was getting praise um by the announcers, man, too, man.
- 10:23SPEAKER_00: He was just a model of consistency where he was out there, whether it was blocking, catching the ball.
- 10:26SPEAKER_07: Listen, he's my favorite.
- 10:28SPEAKER_07: Like, I'm gonna tell you, E all is such my favorite.
- 10:31SPEAKER_07: My kids got his jersey.
- 10:32SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I remember you saying that, right?
- 10:33SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:34SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you like that guy.
- 10:34SPEAKER_07: You like that nigga, though.
- 10:35SPEAKER_00: I'll fuck with E all true players, true players through and through, man.
- 10:40SPEAKER_00: Shout out the Bengals, though.
- 10:41SPEAKER_00: Moving to 2-0.
- 10:43SPEAKER_00: Big week coming up against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: You know, me OB gonna sit down and talk with y'all every single week.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: Couple things that happened around the league.
- 10:50SPEAKER_00: The Raiders moved to two and oh.
- 10:52SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man, shout out the Raiders, shout out the Raiders, man.
- 10:56SPEAKER_00: Uh really good football team.
- 10:57SPEAKER_00: Kirko Change, right?
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: Kirko Change had them boys rocking.
- 11:00SPEAKER_00: They beat the Los Angeles Chargers, almost called San Diego.
- 11:03SPEAKER_00: They beat the LA Chargers.
- 11:05SPEAKER_00: Um, you also got the Kansas City Chiefs last night in a thriller against the Colts.
- 11:10SPEAKER_00: Thriller, man.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Thriller.
- 11:11SPEAKER_00: Man, listen, and Mahomes look like he's back, man.
- 11:13SPEAKER_00: You know, I know a lot of people were questioning, especially in the media.
- 11:16SPEAKER_00: They were like, oh, the the knee, is he fully healthy?
- 11:18SPEAKER_00: Can he can he bounce back?
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: He looks good.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: That shit don't matter.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Man, talk about it.
- 11:21SPEAKER_07: Talk about it.
- 11:22SPEAKER_07: I mean, I just I think like when you're talking about the best players in the world at what they do, and and especially somebody like like Pete Money, like, like, like Pat live, breathe, and die about this football shit.
- 11:36SPEAKER_07: Like, it's nothing that's gonna waver, you know, it's nothing that's gonna waver his like ability and approach.
- 11:45SPEAKER_07: Like that shit should not, that shit should not come as a surprise to anybody, bro.
- 11:48SPEAKER_07: Like, like Pat really loved he like this with the fuck he does, but like he lived for this shit.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: He does this, man.
- 11:53SPEAKER_00: He does this.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: Um, I a couple things else that happened around the league, man.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: Outside of that was the um and a big shock.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: The Saints beat the Ravens.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: That was a big shock to them.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: Like, like you talked about before, man.
- 12:04SPEAKER_00: Scores, like, you know, point totals and favorites, none of that stuff matters.
- 12:08SPEAKER_00: It's another team that's gonna line up on the other side of the field.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: The Cleveland Browns shocked the world yesterday.
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: They they they came out with a win against the Bucs.
- 12:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that shocked a lot of people.
- 12:16SPEAKER_00: I know they had like a little bit of rain delay and whatnot, but yeah, it's another team you have to play on the other side of the field.
- 12:20SPEAKER_00: So this is the NFL.
- 12:21SPEAKER_07: Speaking of that, like not to cut you back.
- 12:23SPEAKER_07: Yeah, no, you go, but like the rain delay was fucking crazy because we were on the bus and they said it is the fourth quarter, less than two minutes left.
- 12:34SPEAKER_07: They're in the plus ten, like red zone.
- 12:37SPEAKER_07: Yeah, and it's second down.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was like second and eight.
- 12:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 12:42SPEAKER_07: And you got a three-hour rain delay to play the game out, bro.
- 12:45SPEAKER_00: I don't know what was going on with the weather this week.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: Uh, it was another, it was another couple hours delay in college football.
- 12:51SPEAKER_00: It was UNC versus uh Clemson, I believe.
- 12:54SPEAKER_00: It was hours and hours and hours of delay, and it was like, how many hours was it?
- 12:59SPEAKER_00: It wasn't like three hours, two, or something, maybe longer.
- 13:01SPEAKER_00: Damn.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: My Alabama game, yeah, yeah, yeah, man.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: It was a lot of games, man.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: It was a lot of games that it was this crazy weather that was happening around the league, man.
- 13:09SPEAKER_07: As a player, that can get just weird, I imagine.
- 13:12SPEAKER_07: I've had rain delays before.
- 13:14SPEAKER_07: Um, and honestly, I've never come out on the winning side of any rain delay, but like that shit can get crazy.
- 13:21SPEAKER_07: And I'm trying to imagine in that situation, like, I mean, I bet you coaches just start drawing shit up.
- 13:27SPEAKER_07: Oh my god.
- 13:28SPEAKER_07: Like, we're gonna do this, we're gonna do that.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: Listen, me and OB got a special episode coming for you guys that's gonna be featured on this episode as well, with the entire Cincinnati Bengals starting online, man.
- 13:38SPEAKER_00: I'm pumped up about it, man.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, man, me too.
- 13:40SPEAKER_07: You know, I think I think what a lot of people uh are gonna be surprised by is the personalities of each individual, uh, how how each guy was fully themselves comfortable.
- 13:54SPEAKER_07: And to me, I think from the outside looking in, when you think of offensive line play, obviously, simple, simply put, you look at this guy, this guy, this guy.
- 14:06SPEAKER_07: And to me, what what really was radiating was the vibe.
- 14:11SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
- 14:11SPEAKER_07: The energy.
- 14:12SPEAKER_07: That's what they say.
- 14:12SPEAKER_07: They say you a vibe.
- 14:13SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you a vibe, right?
- 14:15SPEAKER_07: Well, yeah, uh, yeah, I guess I'm the I'm the I'm the uh I don't know how you say it, like I'm the conductor of the vibes.
- 14:21SPEAKER_07: I gotta be.
- 14:22SPEAKER_07: But but uh when when I watch our when I think of our offensive line, man, I think so much of of our success is is continuity based.
- 14:31SPEAKER_07: And uh hopefully others are able to see uh how engaging we are with one another and uh the love and and the energy and the continuity that we all share for our group.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: I think that uh I think Bengals fans, I think football fans are gonna absolutely love this, eat this up, man, because it was a true authentic conversation.
- 14:49SPEAKER_00: And again, I think you're gonna see a different side of this offensive line that's gonna be quite like no other man.
- 14:53SPEAKER_07: Man, Orlando Brown Jr.
- 14:55SPEAKER_07: here, episode two of Inside the Pocket, as promised, a lot of mass, a lot of ass as well.
- 15:05SPEAKER_07: We got the bros in this motherfucker.
- 15:07SPEAKER_07: It's going down, man.
- 15:08SPEAKER_07: Big leak to my right, Teddy K, Ted Carris, to be specific.
- 15:14SPEAKER_07: Dalton Reisner, Dylan Fairchild and Amarius Mims.
- 15:19SPEAKER_07: It's going fucking down.
- 15:20SPEAKER_07: What's up, fellas?
- 15:21SPEAKER_07: How we feeling?
- 15:22SPEAKER_07: Thanks for having us, man.
- 15:23SPEAKER_07: Of course.
- 15:23SPEAKER_07: I'm glad you guys are here.
- 15:24SPEAKER_07: You know we love this basement.
- 15:25SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I know.
- 15:26SPEAKER_07: I I still can't fucking believe that everybody fits on the couch.
- 15:29SPEAKER_07: I was not expecting that.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: That's a big couch.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: It is.
- 15:31SPEAKER_01: YouTube Thursdays, man.
- 15:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, two Thursdays.
- 15:34SPEAKER_07: Two Thursdays, man.
- 15:35SPEAKER_07: Um, for those that don't know, uh, offensive line dinner is what we have every Thursday, and uh, we get together here as a group, all the offensive line.
- 15:44SPEAKER_07: Quarterbacks show up pretty consistently, running backs.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and Obi's nice enough to host and cater at every Thursday night.
- 15:52SPEAKER_07: Shirley Temples.
- 15:54SPEAKER_07: Shirley Temples, good vibes, and uh we watched weird shit on YouTube as well.
- 16:00SPEAKER_02: So we had high school highlights this week.
- 16:01SPEAKER_02: That was fun.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: Everyone's high school highlights.
- 16:03SPEAKER_02: Mine was from 09, it shook everyone up a little bit.
- 16:07SPEAKER_03: Shit was still pretty cool to see up.
- 16:10SPEAKER_07: Shit was cool to see, man.
- 16:12SPEAKER_07: Um, you know, I think I think for me, uh just kind of starting it off when I think about our unit and the culture we've been able to establish, like I think about the the type of people we are, you know, and kind of what we all come from as individuals and you know, our stories.
- 16:29SPEAKER_07: I think when you talk about a winning culture for an offensive line, that shit is so important.
- 16:34SPEAKER_07: You know, what what what we've been able to consistently, I think, put on take for the last year, man, uh speaks to the type of people that we are.
- 16:40SPEAKER_07: And so I want to use this as a chance to, you know, highlight everybody as individuals and you know, be who we are, talk about who we are and what we've been through.
- 16:48SPEAKER_07: So that's all start with you, Ted.
- 16:50SPEAKER_07: Like what's your uh what's your NFL journey been like?
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: Mindful journey, six-round draft pick, New England Patriots, deflate gate pick.
- 16:56SPEAKER_02: They took away the first rounder, and I was the last pick of the sixth round compensatory selection.
- 17:01SPEAKER_02: And uh ground my way first three years was just six man, probably two, three starts a year.
- 17:06SPEAKER_02: Ended up actually starting year four at center, David Andrews, legend, by the way.
- 17:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah, got blood clots in his lungs.
- 17:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and uh got to start that year and uh went to Miami, back to New England, started at left guard, and now it's my fifth season in Cincy.
- 17:22SPEAKER_02: Ty's the longest place I've ever lived anywhere in my whole life.
- 17:24SPEAKER_02: Five years, five football seasons.
- 17:26SPEAKER_07: And your dad, your dad is a coach and has been a coach your entire life.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: Entire life, yeah.
- 17:30SPEAKER_02: He's been a uh career small college football coach, won a national championship in 2012, and he's back at Marion University having a good year.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: Three and one.
- 17:38SPEAKER_02: Three and fucking one.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: Yeah, bro, you've defied, I feel like Ted's defied so many odds.
- 17:41SPEAKER_01: I feel like his NFL story is sick, man, when you look at it as a whole.
- 17:45SPEAKER_01: Like I have so much respect for the ups and downs that you've gone through, but the way that you've stayed true to yourself and continued to grind, you've deserved this last five years in Cincinnati and showing up here and seeing how loved you are here and what you've done.
- 17:58SPEAKER_01: I mean, I've been hearing stories about Ted Karas way before I even met you.
- 18:02SPEAKER_01: Whenever I was about to sign to Cincinnati, Drew Rosenhaus literally used Ted as an example.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah, bro.
- 18:07SPEAKER_01: Like Cincinnati's a place to go.
- 18:09SPEAKER_01: If you're a guy that has gone on a couple one-year deals, but he's like, You're a perfect fit here.
- 18:13SPEAKER_01: Ted Karas has made a home here by just working his ass off and being who he is.
- 18:17SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I got a lot of respect for him.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: Drew always tries to steal me every year.
- 18:20SPEAKER_02: Rose?
- 18:24SPEAKER_02: I can't be fancy like you.
- 18:26SPEAKER_02: Let's hear your journey.
- 18:27SPEAKER_02: I want to hear I want to hear the journey from the horse's mouth here.
- 18:30SPEAKER_02: Yeah, man.
- 18:31SPEAKER_02: Don't baby boy.
- 18:34SPEAKER_02: Yeah, talk to me.
- 18:35SPEAKER_01: Talk to her about you, sir.
- 18:37SPEAKER_01: Man, I I don't I really don't think it's a fancy story, but for me, the thing I'm most proud of is where I come from.
- 18:42SPEAKER_01: I come from a 1A school in eastern Colorado called Wiggins High School.
- 18:47SPEAKER_01: My dad was the head football coach.
- 18:48SPEAKER_01: My mom kept stats.
- 18:49SPEAKER_01: There's 800 people in the town.
- 18:51SPEAKER_01: Getting recruited was incredibly hard.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: I think I went to like 15 camps a summer, just got in the car with my dad, and we just drove from camp to camp.
- 18:58SPEAKER_01: Uh, that's what we did all summer, and just to get my name out there, trying to get coaches to understand who I was because I couldn't even get an email back.
- 19:04SPEAKER_01: I didn't have my first offer until I was a junior in high school.
- 19:06SPEAKER_01: After my junior season was the first offer I got, and it was northern Colorado, and ended up getting like 12 or 13 offers, decided to go to Kansas State University with Bill Snyder, blue collar program.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: I was, I think, a zero star at the time.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: So it was a perfect fit for me and where I wanted to go.
- 19:21SPEAKER_01: Played five years there.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: I was a right tackle, believe it or not, for three years.
- 19:25SPEAKER_01: Played center as well.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: I remembered it.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Never even never even touched the field as a guard.
- 19:31SPEAKER_01: Never even touched the field as a guard.
- 19:33SPEAKER_01: Got drafted to Denver in the second round and then got plugged in at left guard.
- 19:37SPEAKER_01: Played four years in Denver as left guard.
- 19:39SPEAKER_01: Uh, to be honest, probably thought too much of myself coming out of Denver and overshot my free agency pool.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: I think that really hurt me.
- 19:48SPEAKER_01: But regardless, um, didn't sign a big free agency deal and upsign a pretty much a two-year deal to Minnesota, but it was two one-year deals individually.
- 19:56SPEAKER_01: Um, I've been known to sign late August, early September, and show up and come and play.
- 20:00SPEAKER_01: Fucking crazy stories.
- 20:03SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna be missed.
- 20:04SPEAKER_01: I've missed two training camps.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Out of eight years, I've done six training camps.
- 20:08SPEAKER_01: Um I wouldn't recommend it though, man.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: I really want it.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: Like as nice as it was, like last year was such a buzzsaw when I showed up and having the rustiness that we saw against Jacksonville, I just don't think that's worth it.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: No, would you come and play uh 12 to Cleveland?
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: It was it was second half, so I don't think it was play 12, it was second half.
- 20:26SPEAKER_01: LP made it.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: No, it wasn't first half.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: It was 12.
- 20:36SPEAKER_01: It was played.
- 20:37SPEAKER_01: You're probably right.
- 20:38SPEAKER_01: You're probably right.
- 20:39SPEAKER_01: That's because you guys all were not losing.
- 20:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Lose Packers.
- 20:44SPEAKER_01: I remember running into the hundreds of Mars.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: Mars looked at me and said, Let's go, sixes, and then Ted said, Let's go, man, and gave me nugs.
- 20:52SPEAKER_01: And then Dylan just didn't know who I was.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: So it was a crazy first, crazy first play with the Bengals, bro.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: But it's been a blur ever since.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: It's like a crazy, bro.
- 20:59SPEAKER_01: It's hilarious.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: Y'all are my dogs, man.
- 21:00SPEAKER_07: It's no fun.
- 21:01SPEAKER_07: No, so you're here, bro.
- 21:02SPEAKER_07: What about you, dude?
- 21:03SPEAKER_07: What's uh what's your fucking journey, man?
- 21:05SPEAKER_06: Man, I was uh I was a wrestler.
- 21:07SPEAKER_06: I played football and wrestled since I was six.
- 21:10SPEAKER_06: Um went into high school, thought I was gonna wrestle for a long time, and my junior year, I decided to show up to a South Carolina camp as a D-lineman.
- 21:20SPEAKER_06: Yeah and uh coach Wolford had come over to me and said, Dylan, you're not gonna play D-line in the SEC.
- 21:28SPEAKER_06: It's not happening.
- 21:30SPEAKER_06: So that day I switched, um, did the position drills, did the stuff, um, earned the offer on the spot, and switched over to left tackle for the rest of my high school career.
- 21:42SPEAKER_06: And then uh man, I went to Georgia.
- 21:45SPEAKER_06: Um first two years, Mim's gonna test, it was pretty rough.
- 21:50SPEAKER_07: How rough are we talking?
- 21:51SPEAKER_06: Man, we're talking it was tough.
- 21:54SPEAKER_06: It was tough, man.
- 21:55SPEAKER_06: Um tie tight because your room was your room was crowded, too.
- 22:01SPEAKER_02: And everyone that signs with Georgia gets drafted at least by the fifth round.
- 22:05unknown: Yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_02: In the O-line.
- 22:06SPEAKER_06: This is true.
- 22:07SPEAKER_06: A lot of O-line and D-line.
- 22:09SPEAKER_01: The real question we didn't ask him is what lab he was created in.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 22:12SPEAKER_01: That's what we should have asked.
- 22:14SPEAKER_07: Because some of these blocks he recovers on is fucking impressive.
- 22:16SPEAKER_07: This is a phenomena.
- 22:18SPEAKER_06: Oh, I appreciate that.
- 22:18SPEAKER_06: It's a lot of the wrestling in there.
- 22:20SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 22:21SPEAKER_06: No, man.
- 22:22SPEAKER_06: And so my first two years were were tough.
- 22:24SPEAKER_06: I had to grind my way to the top.
- 22:26SPEAKER_06: And started off, man.
- 22:28SPEAKER_06: I think I was like the only guy in the class, not traveling sophomore year.
- 22:33SPEAKER_06: I don't know.
- 22:33SPEAKER_06: Mike was traveling.
- 22:34SPEAKER_06: Jared was traveling.
- 22:35SPEAKER_06: I was the only guy.
- 22:36SPEAKER_06: Sitting at home, man, with my mom.
- 22:39SPEAKER_06: Just had to put my nose down and keep grinding my whole way through.
- 22:42SPEAKER_06: Finally got an opportunity in my junior year.
- 22:46SPEAKER_06: Took advantage of it, started playing.
- 22:48SPEAKER_06: I was putting good tape out there.
- 22:49SPEAKER_06: I was a right guard.
- 22:51SPEAKER_06: And then I came in.
- 22:52SPEAKER_06: Mims actually, this is crazy.
- 22:54SPEAKER_06: Mims getting hurt was the reason I got my opportunity.
- 22:57SPEAKER_06: And now I play with Mims.
- 22:59SPEAKER_06: It's a theme of opportunities.
- 23:00SPEAKER_06: You gotta take advantage, man.
- 23:03SPEAKER_05: Tennessee, we played beside each other.
- 23:04SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we did.
- 23:05SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we did.
- 23:06SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 23:06SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 23:07SPEAKER_06: Let's not go back to that one.
- 23:10SPEAKER_06: We got the dub, though.
- 23:11SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 23:11SPEAKER_06: No, man, that's fucking crazy.
- 23:12SPEAKER_06: Yeah, and then got the opportunity, uh, kept grinding, and then got drafted to the third round.
- 23:18SPEAKER_06: Cincinnati Bengals.
- 23:19SPEAKER_06: Here we go.
- 23:20SPEAKER_06: Here we are.
- 23:21SPEAKER_07: It's fucking lit, bro.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: How many stars did you have last year?
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: 14?
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: 15.
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: 15?
- 23:25SPEAKER_02: 15.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: Master Diver.
- 23:30SPEAKER_07: That story needs to be told.
- 23:32SPEAKER_07: Master fucking diver.
- 23:34SPEAKER_07: Damn right.
- 23:35SPEAKER_07: Get into it.
- 23:36SPEAKER_07: Yeah, man.
- 23:37SPEAKER_07: Um, Mimzi, bro.
- 23:39SPEAKER_07: What about you, dog?
- 23:40SPEAKER_07: What you fucking got for me, bro?
- 23:42SPEAKER_07: Yeah.
- 23:43SPEAKER_07: Dog.
- 23:44SPEAKER_07: Dog.
- 23:45SPEAKER_07: You talk about a specimen.
- 23:46SPEAKER_07: Specimen.
- 23:47SPEAKER_07: Man, for the longest time.
- 23:48SPEAKER_07: This motherfucker was hatched out of an egg.
- 23:51SPEAKER_07: Shit crazy.
- 23:52SPEAKER_05: Man, for the longest time I could have sworn I was gonna be a defensive head, man.
- 23:56SPEAKER_05: Like middle school, growing up.
- 23:59SPEAKER_05: Well, really from growing up to middle school, man.
- 24:01SPEAKER_05: Defensive end, man.
- 24:03SPEAKER_05: Some linebacker too, bro.
- 24:04SPEAKER_05: I'm telling you, man.
- 24:05SPEAKER_05: Don't worry.
- 24:06SPEAKER_05: Man, I'm telling you, then I got to high school, my coach was like, we don't know where to put you.
- 24:10SPEAKER_05: So I played DN and I was a tight end.
- 24:12SPEAKER_05: So my freshman and my freshman and sophomore year, I played tight end and DN.
- 24:17SPEAKER_05: My first offer came from Georgia off of my tight end highlights.
- 24:23SPEAKER_07: They offered you as a tight end or they offered you as a tackle.
- 24:27SPEAKER_05: Off my tight end highlights because they knew I was going to tackle my junior to start the season.
- 24:31SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 24:32SPEAKER_05: So man, I went to some camps and I'd never forget, shout out Miles Murphy.
- 24:35SPEAKER_05: I went to the my first robber's camp, and there's this guy at the camp.
- 24:39SPEAKER_05: I had no idea who he was, but they called him the quiet assassin.
- 24:42SPEAKER_05: And it turns out it was Miles Murphy.
- 24:45SPEAKER_05: It was Murph?
- 24:45SPEAKER_02: It was Miles Murphy.
- 24:46SPEAKER_02: Murph had a nickname on the camp circuit.
- 24:51SPEAKER_03: The quiet assassin is there.
- 24:52SPEAKER_03: He should still keep that.
- 24:54SPEAKER_03: That's a good one.
- 24:54SPEAKER_05: I'm talking about absolutely embarrassed me.
- 24:56SPEAKER_05: Never took a pass that before in my life.
- 24:58SPEAKER_05: My first pass that I took was at a camp against somebody who was established in uh in the recruiting world, had no stars.
- 25:05SPEAKER_05: I mean, I did solid every other rep besides his, so that's how like the buzz started.
- 25:10SPEAKER_05: And then from then from there on up, man, junior senior started playing left tackle, man.
- 25:15SPEAKER_05: Became the um number one player in the state of Georgia, I think.
- 25:19SPEAKER_05: Wow.
- 25:19SPEAKER_05: And up coming to um end up um coming to Georgia.
- 25:23SPEAKER_05: My boy Dylan at Georgia for three years.
- 25:25SPEAKER_05: Well, three years together, right?
- 25:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, yeah.
- 25:27SPEAKER_05: Three years together.
- 25:28SPEAKER_05: Then um, like I said, ultimately decided to um, you know, um not go back my senior year and take a chance at the draft.
- 25:36SPEAKER_05: I was getting mixed, like mixed grades.
- 25:38SPEAKER_05: Some people saying I'm not going first, people said I'm going second.
- 25:41SPEAKER_05: So like it was just a lot of stuff, man.
- 25:43SPEAKER_05: It was a lot of, you know, should I go back?
- 25:47SPEAKER_05: Uh should I like should I go in a draft?
- 25:48SPEAKER_05: I said I'm taking a chance on myself.
- 25:50SPEAKER_05: I'm not going back to college.
- 25:51SPEAKER_05: I'll go in the draft.
- 25:52SPEAKER_05: I know I figured out like I figured I'd test good.
- 25:55SPEAKER_05: I figured like my combine would be solid.
- 25:57SPEAKER_05: So ain't up.
- 25:59SPEAKER_07: Hell yeah.
- 25:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah, as soon as you walked into Indianapolis, it was like, yeah, first we need a test.
- 26:04SPEAKER_05: So that's how it went, man.
- 26:05SPEAKER_05: So I ended up going to the combine.
- 26:07SPEAKER_05: Man, I run a I run a pretty solid first 40, and then I run the second one, and then boom, my hamstring.
- 26:16SPEAKER_05: And I'm like, oh god, man.
- 26:18SPEAKER_05: I already had these these like like speculations and stuff that I've been injured.
- 26:22SPEAKER_05: Really, I only had one real injury, which is my last year, and I missed his games, bro.
- 26:26SPEAKER_05: So I don't know like where the whole like he's been injured a lot narrative came from.
- 26:31SPEAKER_05: But uh, I can take a guess where it came from, but uh it doesn't really matter anymore.
- 26:38SPEAKER_05: I've been healthy as a late, so that's all that matters.
- 26:40SPEAKER_05: But uh like I said, man, um end of taking a chance on myself, man.
- 26:44SPEAKER_05: Uh had a pro day.
- 26:45SPEAKER_05: Me and Brock Byrnes had our pro day together, man.
- 26:47SPEAKER_05: And um, I was playing left tackle and right tackle.
- 26:50SPEAKER_05: Man, shout out to my boy Seb Ben Pran.
- 26:52SPEAKER_05: I was the only lineman there that was gonna work out, and every team just about came to see me.
- 26:56SPEAKER_05: Man, said stepped in, he was like, I'm gonna work out with you, bro.
- 26:59SPEAKER_05: I said, Man, you don't understand how great.
- 27:01SPEAKER_05: Save two fucking life.
- 27:02SPEAKER_03: Man, I'm gonna kill your ass.
- 27:05SPEAKER_05: I was dog tired before it started because I knew I was gonna be tired during the drills, bro.
- 27:09SPEAKER_02: Uh he's that the year he but he was one year ahead of us.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: So it's the last time.
- 27:12SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so he was uh yeah, so he was one year ahead of us, but we came out together, okay.
- 27:18SPEAKER_05: So yeah, man, uh like I said, shout out to him, man.
- 27:20SPEAKER_05: It was a long, long, long, long pro day.
- 27:22SPEAKER_05: But like I said, long story short, had a good pro day.
- 27:24SPEAKER_05: Coach Asall was healthy, hamstring was healed.
- 27:27SPEAKER_05: Then uh fast forward, man.
- 27:30SPEAKER_05: Uh get drafted by the Cincinnati Bengals 2024 with the 18th pick.
- 27:34SPEAKER_05: And like I said, man, been going strong since.
- 27:36SPEAKER_05: And like I said, man, just got drafted to a great, like I said, a great room, a great group of guys, man.
- 27:43SPEAKER_05: And um, you know, I'm just enjoying my time here.
- 27:45SPEAKER_02: You're three, getting your pension this week, by the way.
- 27:48SPEAKER_02: Yeah, invested this week.
- 27:50SPEAKER_02: Big week, yeah.
- 27:51SPEAKER_01: Big week.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: Dilly's no longer a rook after this week.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: After this week, bro.
- 27:56SPEAKER_01: Dilly, let's go.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: Tom is flying.
- 27:58SPEAKER_01: I'm ready to go, dude.
- 27:59SPEAKER_07: Tom is fucking fly.
- 28:00SPEAKER_07: Like, for you guys, like, I guess a question I would ask, like, for how I guess your lives have gone and football lives have gone.
- 28:09SPEAKER_07: Like, like, at what point did you guys know the NFL was real?
- 28:12SPEAKER_07: Like, at what point, like for me, I would say going into man, my junior year of college, that last year of college, I was like, man, I shit, I got a fucking chance.
- 28:23SPEAKER_07: Like, I think I could do this shit.
- 28:25SPEAKER_07: Like, I think I can I can go on and you know get drafted and and be a be a left tackle in the league.
- 28:30SPEAKER_07: Like, what would you say that fucking point is for y'all?
- 28:33SPEAKER_02: I mean, I guess I I probably didn't feel it as strongly as you, but when you saw peers that you were with in college, you know, like this starting in the NFL, I was like, okay.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: Yeah, but I mean, for me, like year three, really, I got cut year two, we made it back on, and then Super Bowl 53 was when I really I you know felt like I contributed more than my rookie year, yeah.
- 28:55SPEAKER_02: And knew everyone and became vested.
- 28:57SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that made it feel real to me, getting a pension.
- 29:00SPEAKER_02: That's real.
- 29:01SPEAKER_02: Um but no, not I didn't.
- 29:03SPEAKER_02: It was 50-50 when I was getting drafted.
- 29:05SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:06SPEAKER_07: That's the beauty of your story, though.
- 29:08SPEAKER_01: I had just I had just uh chugged a four loco, and we were going to where the fuck were you at?
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: I was in Manhattan, okay, and we were going to the K-State KU game, and I just crushed what I like to do because I'm not a big drinker, I don't really like the taste of alcohol.
- 29:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, uh my boys were all having a great time drinking beers.
- 29:25SPEAKER_01: I didn't want to, so I would just put a big four loco in a beer bong and just pound the four loco, and I'd be good to go.
- 29:30SPEAKER_01: So we're going to the K-State KU game, and a guy named uh Condon with uh CAA.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: That was my dad's A Z in.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: Okay, Tom Condon calls me.
- 29:40SPEAKER_01: I don't know how he has my cell phone.
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: This is after my red shirt sophomore year going into my junior year, and he was talking about how you know he wanted to represent me and talking about me going to NFL and thinking I was gonna be a top three round draft pick.
- 29:51SPEAKER_01: And I hadn't even really thought about it until then.
- 29:53SPEAKER_01: I felt like him calling will always be my moment of like, oh, okay, someone was CAA's calling.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: I had to look up who CAA was, who Tom Condon was, and we rushed the court that night, beat KU was a great time, man.
- 30:05SPEAKER_06: Damn, yeah.
- 30:06SPEAKER_01: It's crazy.
- 30:06SPEAKER_06: What you do?
- 30:07SPEAKER_06: I'd say probably my sophomore year of college.
- 30:11SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 30:11SPEAKER_02: That's when I was like, not on the travel team, but not on the travel team.
- 30:14SPEAKER_08: Whoa, that's great.
- 30:17SPEAKER_03: What a dude, bro! Jilly's always believed in himself.
- 30:22SPEAKER_03: That's well, that's about the time when the switch flipped.
- 30:25SPEAKER_03: You know what I mean?
- 30:26SPEAKER_06: That's when it started to that's when it started to pick up for me.
- 30:29SPEAKER_06: You know, I was like, look, man, I'm either gonna make it or not.
- 30:33SPEAKER_06: And now's the time to start really trying to make it.
- 30:39SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you probably saw a bunch of your people.
- 30:41SPEAKER_02: I mean, everyone in your room gets drafted every year.
- 30:43SPEAKER_02: Yeah, exactly.
- 30:44SPEAKER_06: I know, and and so that was really the time of my life where I like really flipped the switch um in my play, just in my mentality, everything.
- 30:53SPEAKER_06: And so, man, it for me it was like there's very few options, you know, yeah, in terms of like what I wanted to really do.
- 31:01SPEAKER_06: Um, because outside of football, man, I don't know.
- 31:04SPEAKER_06: You know, I still to this day, I don't know.
- 31:06SPEAKER_06: Does Georgia have a wrestling team?
- 31:08SPEAKER_02: Is there is there SEC wrestling?
- 31:10SPEAKER_06: No, no, no, there's no I think Missouri's the only one with a wrestling program.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: Yeah, um you said kindergarten for you, memes.
- 31:23SPEAKER_05: Like, fuck you talking about mine was my sophomore year.
- 31:32SPEAKER_05: Uh I really like had an idea whenever um we played Ohio State in Atlanta for the Chick Play Bowl, right?
- 31:40SPEAKER_05: Just to see like go to the national championship and play TCU.
- 31:43SPEAKER_05: But just playing in that game right there, that's when I really like had an idea, like, okay, like you like you got a shot.
- 31:49SPEAKER_05: You like you like play good this game, you know, you work hard and you went out there and do what you did.
- 31:54SPEAKER_05: I said, okay.
- 31:55SPEAKER_05: Like that's when I started to understand, like, this is serious.
- 31:59SPEAKER_05: Yeah, you can get drafted.
- 32:00SPEAKER_05: So yeah, okay.
- 32:01SPEAKER_07: Well, shit, that makes sense.
- 32:02SPEAKER_07: Uh kind of like leads into like the other things I wanted to talk about.
- 32:08SPEAKER_07: One of them being kind of like first impressions of each other.
- 32:11SPEAKER_07: Like, I it's kind of funny because when I got here, you three weren't here, it was just fucking Ted over here.
- 32:22SPEAKER_07: Let it out.
- 32:23SPEAKER_07: So my dog, we like we show up for OTAs and shit.
- 32:28SPEAKER_07: My dog's like, hey, hey man, like you drink a little bit.
- 32:31SPEAKER_07: I'm like, yeah, I drink.
- 32:32SPEAKER_07: He's like, so so at the time it's me and Cody.
- 32:36SPEAKER_07: So like it's me and Cody here at OTAs, and Ted's like, well, shit, I'm gonna show you Cincinnati.
- 32:40SPEAKER_07: I'm like, all right, cool.
- 32:41SPEAKER_07: I'll you were MLT's 30 minutes.
- 32:43SPEAKER_07: Oh, you already know how I fucking went down.
- 32:45SPEAKER_07: We might have went to the oak.
- 32:46SPEAKER_07: Where we went to the oak.
- 32:47SPEAKER_07: We went to the oak, went to the oak.
- 32:49SPEAKER_07: We had a bucket of beers, maybe two buckets buckets of beers.
- 32:54SPEAKER_07: It was a popping night, yeah.
- 32:55SPEAKER_07: It was fucking lit, too.
- 32:57SPEAKER_07: It was nothing but fucking love.
- 32:58SPEAKER_07: But that's when I kind of learned.
- 33:00SPEAKER_07: I'm like, this motherfucker is the next mayor of Cincinnati.
- 33:03SPEAKER_07: Yeah, like with that responsibility.
- 33:04unknown: Yeah, what the fuck?
- 33:06SPEAKER_07: I was like, what the fuck?
- 33:08SPEAKER_07: So that was that was my first impression of Teddy K.
- 33:10SPEAKER_07: Obviously, dog Big 12.
- 33:12SPEAKER_07: Like, I knew all about like you know, I mean, your style of play, where you came from, fuck it, dog, tough and rugged.
- 33:18SPEAKER_07: Uh, deal.
- 33:19SPEAKER_07: I mean, at the I think at this point, Scott had talked about you a ton during the draft.
- 33:24SPEAKER_07: A lot.
- 33:25SPEAKER_07: Like his boy, he's like, you should just feel his hands on the fucking back.
- 33:28SPEAKER_07: So I had already idea.
- 33:32SPEAKER_07: I just never felt nothing like that, man.
- 33:34SPEAKER_07: So I kind of already had a feeling you were a meathead.
- 33:37SPEAKER_07: Um yeah, let's just say you you're not necessarily a meathead, but you right on that threshold of that shit.
- 33:42SPEAKER_03: It did uh offend me, bro.
- 33:45SPEAKER_02: Dylan got drafted, calls me, he's like, they won't let me stay at the hotel, I'm staying with you, and is working out in my garage, staying in the pool house.
- 33:56SPEAKER_03: Yeah, you were the fucking pool house, bro.
- 33:58SPEAKER_03: That's been several hours.
- 34:00SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Jake Browning, Kirk was in there, Kirk was in there, Burrow.
- 34:04SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Burrow.
- 34:08SPEAKER_03: This whole neighborhood.
- 34:09SPEAKER_02: How weird of a night for Joe is it if he ends up spending the night in my pool house.
- 34:13SPEAKER_02: Oh, Joseph won it.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: Oh, shit.
- 34:14SPEAKER_02: Jody would want to do it.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's he wouldn't do it, he's beside himself.
- 34:18SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 34:19SPEAKER_07: Should it should've been hella weird.
- 34:20SPEAKER_07: What about Mimsy?
- 34:21SPEAKER_07: I gotta hear a story about that.
- 34:22SPEAKER_07: First impression with Mims.
- 34:23SPEAKER_07: My first impression of Mims, man.
- 34:25SPEAKER_07: Um, wow.
- 34:26SPEAKER_07: I I remember we were in the Urus.
- 34:28SPEAKER_07: My dog said he really wanted a fucking Urs.
- 34:30SPEAKER_07: He's like, This is my dream fucking car.
- 34:33SPEAKER_07: Just like we were leaving Jeff Ruby's, and like we talked at Ruby's, we chopped it up when we were leaving.
- 34:39SPEAKER_07: Just you and him, just me and him in the year, he's like, bro, this is my dream car.
- 34:43SPEAKER_07: I didn't know I could fit in this motherfucker.
- 34:45SPEAKER_07: Uh I was like, Yeah, well, shit, bro.
- 34:47SPEAKER_07: Like, I mean, with your bonus that you just signed, as long as you don't consistently blow it, you could buy this.
- 34:52SPEAKER_07: You can buy yours, no problem.
- 34:54SPEAKER_07: Like, fair enough.
- 34:55SPEAKER_07: Like, you could buy yours.
- 34:56SPEAKER_07: Um, but that was like our one of our first interactions, man, as a younger player.
- 35:00SPEAKER_07: I'm uh I'm curious on uh on you guys's.
- 35:03SPEAKER_07: Um, I'm gonna start with fucking dildo.
- 35:05SPEAKER_07: I'm gonna start with OB's.
- 35:07SPEAKER_06: My my first impression of OB is has lasted for a long time.
- 35:12SPEAKER_06: Like OB's just a vibes guy, man, for sure.
- 35:15SPEAKER_06: Like that brings top level vibes every single day, no matter what.
- 35:21SPEAKER_06: And that to me, I mean, like, I man, I I that's something I really admire about you too.
- 35:26SPEAKER_06: Like, I I really do.
- 35:28SPEAKER_06: Um, because I look at you sometimes, I'm like, man, I need to be I need to be, you know, at that level of just bringing the vibes.
- 35:35SPEAKER_07: Yeah, just a little bit of delusion there too.
- 35:36SPEAKER_07: But yeah, that's but it's a good thing.
- 35:38SPEAKER_06: Thank you, great vibes, man.
- 35:39SPEAKER_06: Thank you.
- 35:40SPEAKER_06: Um, and for Ted, man, like I think I was so off on my first observation of Ted.
- 35:50SPEAKER_06: Because we were at Rubies.
- 35:53SPEAKER_06: We were at Ruby's.
- 35:54SPEAKER_06: We were at Ruby's?
- 35:55SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 35:55SPEAKER_03: That's great.
- 35:56SPEAKER_06: We after I got drafted, we went.
- 35:58SPEAKER_06: Yeah, we went to Ruby's.
- 35:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we had uh with D night.
- 36:01SPEAKER_02: It was with D night, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 36:02SPEAKER_02: And uh just you two, right?
- 36:04SPEAKER_06: It was yep, just me and D.
- 36:05SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 36:06SPEAKER_02: Was Jamar there or was that the night before?
- 36:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, that was the night before.
- 36:08SPEAKER_02: We're in a weird room.
- 36:09SPEAKER_06: I remember that.
- 36:10SPEAKER_06: Man, Carlos.
- 36:11SPEAKER_06: Yes.
- 36:12SPEAKER_06: And Ted's drinking his dirty martinis, blue cheese olive.
- 36:15SPEAKER_06: With the blue cheese olive.
- 36:17SPEAKER_06: Man, like I've never met a guy in my life that uh first of all, I've never met another Ted Karas in my life.
- 36:23SPEAKER_06: You won't.
- 36:24SPEAKER_06: Great man, Cincinnati.
- 36:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah, he is.
- 36:26SPEAKER_06: Everybody in this town, like I said, he's the mayor of the town.
- 36:29SPEAKER_08: Exactly.
- 36:30SPEAKER_06: Um, but I've never met a man in my life that gets more dialed the more that he drinks.
- 36:35SPEAKER_06: And Ted is one of those people.
- 36:37SPEAKER_06: Like it is insane.
- 36:39SPEAKER_06: It's it makes me question him as a human being every single time I get around him and he's drinking.
- 36:45SPEAKER_06: Um he is dialed, I'll tell you that.
- 36:49SPEAKER_06: Ted is the most dialed-in person I've ever been around.
- 36:52SPEAKER_06: Um man, and he's a great man, and he's taught me a lot.
- 36:56SPEAKER_06: So very appreciative for you, Ted.
- 36:59SPEAKER_06: I've I admire you you three a lot.
- 37:03SPEAKER_06: Thank you.
- 37:04SPEAKER_06: Um man, Dalton to me, like was oh man, like it was crazy because like I didn't, I didn't like Dalton is so jolly, like in a good way.
- 37:21SPEAKER_06: Um and I just didn't believe it at first.
- 37:24SPEAKER_06: Like just every day Dalton was showing up and he was being himself, you know, just being happy, like bringing the energy every single day.
- 37:31SPEAKER_06: Um and now it's just who he is.
- 37:33SPEAKER_06: Like, it's just the guy that he is, man.
- 37:35SPEAKER_06: He's he's a great man, and I'm extremely happy to be around him.
- 37:38SPEAKER_06: So I appreciate it.
- 37:40SPEAKER_01: Thanks, man.
- 37:41SPEAKER_06: Big memes.
- 37:42SPEAKER_06: Yeah.
- 37:43SPEAKER_06: Was it a visit?
- 37:44SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 37:45SPEAKER_06: When did you first meet?
- 37:46SPEAKER_06: When did you first meet?
- 37:47SPEAKER_03: No, we didn't recruit him.
- 37:49SPEAKER_06: No, no, I got to Georgia and I bought a pair of shoes off of him.
- 37:54SPEAKER_06: The first thing you did?
- 37:55SPEAKER_02: Like before one of the first interactions.
- 38:04SPEAKER_05: It was the Jordan 1 Shadow 2.0.
- 38:07SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 38:09SPEAKER_03: The memory and then some blazers, he's like an elephant, he's not gonna forget shit.
- 38:14SPEAKER_06: And then some blazers, and then the only other thing that I like as because Mims Mims pretty quiet, like for the most part, when we first met.
- 38:22SPEAKER_06: Like, I really was you and LC.
- 38:25SPEAKER_06: Yeah, for like you and LC were hanging out a lot.
- 38:29SPEAKER_06: Um but man, I went over to your dorm and you just had like an entire like your closet didn't have any clothes, it was just straight shoes all the way to the top of the closet stacked.
- 38:38SPEAKER_06: Like, I'm talking about like more shoes than I've ever seen.
- 38:42SPEAKER_03: Would you pay for your pair?
- 38:43unknown: Five.
- 38:44SPEAKER_06: I think a good price, yeah.
- 38:46SPEAKER_07: That's real low.
- 38:47SPEAKER_07: 200 for two pairs.
- 38:48SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that's real low.
- 38:49SPEAKER_07: That's how you know you're a good guy, though.
- 38:50SPEAKER_07: That's how you know I'm a good guy.
- 38:51SPEAKER_07: Yeah, that's how you know you're a good business man.
- 38:52SPEAKER_07: But Mims is also a astute businessman.
- 38:55SPEAKER_07: Oh, he is.
- 38:56SPEAKER_07: He bought his shit now.
- 38:56SPEAKER_07: He's a very good guy, he's gonna pick that shit up.
- 38:58SPEAKER_03: Very good businessman.
- 39:00SPEAKER_03: Okay, I like that.
- 39:01SPEAKER_03: I like that.
- 39:01SPEAKER_06: Yeah, man, and Mims Mims just always been on his stuff every single time I've been around him, man.
- 39:09SPEAKER_06: Like, just from day one, like I'm Mims was always trying to start.
- 39:13SPEAKER_06: And and Warren McClendon right now, he's with the Rams.
- 39:17SPEAKER_06: Shout out Warren.
- 39:18SPEAKER_06: Uh Warren was Warren was starting, you know, Georgia's a big seniority school.
- 39:23SPEAKER_06: So like um he was he was he was uh starting over Mims, and man, Mims was just grinding, trying to start, trying to get his, trying to make his way.
- 39:35SPEAKER_07: That's uh you can't tell this is the lover of our group.
- 39:38SPEAKER_07: This is our this is this is like our this is our love guy.
- 39:42SPEAKER_07: This is our love guy.
- 39:43SPEAKER_03: Yeah, Bill is our love guy.
- 39:46SPEAKER_03: Bastard diver is our love guy.
- 39:48SPEAKER_03: Like, where would we be without pickle, Dolph?
- 39:50SPEAKER_01: Where would we be without Pickle?
- 39:51SPEAKER_01: What about you, Dalton?
- 39:52SPEAKER_01: Like, let me hear what the fuck you gotta say, man.
- 39:54SPEAKER_01: Dude, mine's probably gonna be heartfelt too, man.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: Yours was yours was awesome because I'm coming off, coming here in August, my second time being a late free agent, which is super frustrating given my resume.
- 40:07SPEAKER_01: So I'm already in a vulnerable position of like, man, I feel like I should be on a football team, I'm gonna show up somewhere.
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: It's it's hard showing up places in August.
- 40:14SPEAKER_01: I think people underestimate it because like y'all have been together for so long.
- 40:17SPEAKER_01: You've been through OTAs, you guys have been through camp.
- 40:19SPEAKER_01: I'd done it in Minnesota, and I knew how hard it was.
- 40:22SPEAKER_01: And I knew that like if I learned anything from that year, the one thing I did that was best is I just was myself.
- 40:27SPEAKER_01: Like, I wasn't gonna come in and try to be someone I wasn't, like, just go in and be Dalton, and the guys will eventually love you for who they are.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: But like you made it so easy because before I even show up there, media's asking about me, and you could have easily, you know, been like, I don't know who this guy is, why they're bringing him in late.
- 40:42SPEAKER_01: I don't really know this guy, act like you didn't know me.
- 40:44SPEAKER_01: But you gave like a whole deal talking about how good of a player I was, and you knew exactly who I was, and you respected my game, and I was gonna come help you guys win football games.
- 40:51SPEAKER_01: Like, that gave me so much confidence showing up here, bro.
- 40:54SPEAKER_01: Like, I was like, dang, like he welcomed me with open arms.
- 40:57SPEAKER_01: I didn't have to earn his respect, I didn't have to do anything to prove to OB that I'm coming in here to help the guys win.
- 41:02SPEAKER_01: And I just felt like that did numbers for me.
- 41:05SPEAKER_01: Like that, by any stretch of imagination, like was huge for me last year, bro.
- 41:09SPEAKER_01: And that's why I told you, like, that meant so much to me.
- 41:11SPEAKER_01: Like you opened the door for me to be a Bengals, and you allowed it for me to show up on day one and be who I was and have the season I was.
- 41:18SPEAKER_01: And Ted's like your two, I'll always remember your two first impressions.
- 41:21SPEAKER_01: Out of everyone on the team, your two were the greatest because I'm here for like seven days and I go in and play in the game.
- 41:28SPEAKER_01: I had a good game, I did some good things I pride myself on, but that's like my standard.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: You guys know how I like to do it.
- 41:34SPEAKER_01: And Ted after the game was the same thing.
- 41:36SPEAKER_01: He got asked a question, and he could have easily just been like, oh, like, you know, he that's what we brought him in for.
- 41:41SPEAKER_01: He did what he was supposed to, but he had some, you know, great Ted Karas quote.
- 41:46SPEAKER_01: I actually have it saved on my phone.
- 41:48SPEAKER_01: I play it right now, it's in my notes, it's literally underneath Ted Karas because he was like, it was the greatest display of football professionalism I've ever seen.
- 41:58SPEAKER_01: So much respect.
- 41:58SPEAKER_01: I quoted it word for word.
- 42:00SPEAKER_01: It wasn't.
- 42:01SPEAKER_01: It's lame that I remember it, but it's that's something I'll remember before.
- 42:04SPEAKER_01: Like, I'll remember that whenever I'm a hunter.
- 42:06SPEAKER_01: I'll be telling my kids that, bro.
- 42:07SPEAKER_01: Like, it meant so much to me that a guy with so much expertise in this league said that about me.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: And whether he meant it or not, don't matter to me.
- 42:16SPEAKER_01: I'll tell my kids he meant it.
- 42:17SPEAKER_01: And exactly.
- 42:18SPEAKER_01: But like that was my first impression of Ted.
- 42:20SPEAKER_01: It's like, dang, like, that's the center.
- 42:21SPEAKER_01: That's the lead, that's one of the leaders of this team, the leader of this offense, and that's how he's speaking about me.
- 42:26SPEAKER_01: So unbelievable from you guys, unbelievable from these two as well.
- 42:29SPEAKER_01: Dylan is a lot along the lines of me.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: Dylan's always just been himself.
- 42:32SPEAKER_01: You've always been a guy that I can go to and make me smile.
- 42:35SPEAKER_01: I love your dedication to the game.
- 42:37SPEAKER_01: You're a good human being.
- 42:38SPEAKER_01: I love the husband that you are, I love the human being that you are, the way you carry yourself every day, the way you carry about care about your teammates.
- 42:44SPEAKER_01: You wear your heart on your sleeve, and that's one thing that I really value because you are who you are every single day, bro.
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: And Mims, my first impression with Mims is also really, really cool because it was the same thing with you and Ted.
- 42:58SPEAKER_01: When I got bumped in there, Mims did not have to treat me the way that he did, he did not have to welcome me with open arms.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: He, I think one of the big reasons why I'm back is because of Mims, bro.
- 43:07SPEAKER_01: Like he was pulling for me.
- 43:09SPEAKER_01: At the end of the year, I told Whitney, Whitney told me this.
- 43:12SPEAKER_01: I was talking about all you guys and how special it felt and how valued I felt here.
- 43:15SPEAKER_01: And Whitney brought it to my attention.
- 43:17SPEAKER_01: She's like, Mims didn't have to go out and say all those things.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: Like he went out of his way to be talking, called me the best right guard in the league.
- 43:24SPEAKER_01: He knew that was a lie, but I was everyone with the ball here.
- 43:27SPEAKER_01: We're stepping at Yo, yo, baby poster boy.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: From the moment I was in there in Cleveland, like he supported me.
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: He was wanting to get better with me.
- 43:34SPEAKER_01: He woke me with open arms, and that's a testament to how all you guys treated me.
- 43:39SPEAKER_01: But yeah, uh, first impression with y'all, man.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: Really, really good.
- 43:42SPEAKER_02: Do you remember when me and Kappa learned our lesson on like rookie hazing with Mims?
- 43:47SPEAKER_02: Oh, what happened?
- 43:49SPEAKER_02: Yes, bro.
- 43:50SPEAKER_02: So we blamed him for not bringing donuts in.
- 43:53SPEAKER_02: Oh, Mims, you've told this story.
- 43:56SPEAKER_02: Like really dark.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: Well, if Mims goes dark, you're in trouble.
- 43:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, shit.
- 44:00SPEAKER_01: Everybody's nervous.
- 44:01SPEAKER_02: Everybody nervous.
- 44:02SPEAKER_02: Everybody fucked up.
- 44:04SPEAKER_02: Me and Cap are looking at each other.
- 44:05SPEAKER_02: Oh, I don't know.
- 44:07SPEAKER_02: I'm gonna stop talking about it.
- 44:08SPEAKER_02: It was Natalie's fault.
- 44:15SPEAKER_05: I promised y'all, bro.
- 44:16SPEAKER_05: Like the three weeks beforehand, I brought in the donut.
- 44:20SPEAKER_05: Then one day I was busy that morning.
- 44:22SPEAKER_05: And I said, Hey, get back, can you get the donuts for me?
- 44:25SPEAKER_05: I said, of course.
- 44:25SPEAKER_05: I sent for the money and all that good stuff, man.
- 44:28SPEAKER_05: And then boom, he shows up empty-handed.
- 44:31SPEAKER_05: I show up empty-handed.
- 44:33SPEAKER_05: We get to the meetings.
- 44:34SPEAKER_04: He was like, I was like, Matt, where the donuts said?
- 44:36SPEAKER_04: He was like, bro, he said you don't get him.
- 44:38SPEAKER_04: I said, Matt, I said, Matthew Lee.
- 44:41SPEAKER_04: I said, Matthew.
- 44:43SPEAKER_04: I literally have a text message of you.
- 44:44SPEAKER_04: I sent you the money.
- 44:45SPEAKER_04: You're like, no, man, it couldn't have been.
- 44:47SPEAKER_04: I was like, all right, bro.
- 44:48SPEAKER_03: So it fucked up the whole day for sure.
- 44:53SPEAKER_03: I want to hear what they said to men.
- 44:54SPEAKER_03: So Ted and Cat.
- 44:56SPEAKER_03: Oh, they were.
- 44:56SPEAKER_03: So Ted and Cat was just like we didn't know yet.
- 44:58SPEAKER_03: Just kept talking.
- 45:00SPEAKER_04: They just kept talking.
- 45:01SPEAKER_04: It was like, oh, we think you're too good to break it down.
- 45:03SPEAKER_05: That's first round pick.
- 45:03SPEAKER_03: And like in the middle of the meeting, we 30 minutes in.
- 45:05SPEAKER_03: It's just random little teeth.
- 45:08SPEAKER_03: I can be told and they kept going.
- 45:10SPEAKER_03: Yeah.
- 45:11SPEAKER_03: And then I think it got to like one more time.
- 45:13SPEAKER_03: Did he say something?
- 45:16SPEAKER_04: He said it one more time.
- 45:17SPEAKER_04: Then I said, Is there a problem?
- 45:18SPEAKER_04: Like, oh my god.
- 45:21SPEAKER_02: Like me and Tan are talking for like a week.
- 45:23SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 45:23SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 45:24SPEAKER_02: When Mims gets mad, he actually gets an inch taller.
- 45:26SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 45:29SPEAKER_02: Starts looking down at you and silent.
- 45:34SPEAKER_03: Oh.
- 45:36SPEAKER_03: Bro, so uh so Terry, what about your first impression?
- 45:41SPEAKER_03: First impressions.
- 45:42SPEAKER_02: So for you, I had known you, I don't know you.
- 45:46SPEAKER_02: I'd seen you from afar in Baltimore and then knew about you through Tooney.
- 45:49SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 45:50SPEAKER_02: And then I mean, we basically we signed you in the middle of the night.
- 45:55SPEAKER_02: Really?
- 45:55SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 45:56SPEAKER_02: And so I called him, picked up great vibes on the phone.
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 45:59SPEAKER_02: Cody didn't know who I was when I called him that year.
- 46:02SPEAKER_02: C FOS.
- 46:03SPEAKER_02: He was like, who's this?
- 46:05SPEAKER_02: I'm the center, man.
- 46:10SPEAKER_02: But then it was that first night at the Oak, man.
- 46:12SPEAKER_02: I was just like, oh, we're gonna have some fun.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: We did.
- 46:14SPEAKER_02: We did.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we did.
- 46:15SPEAKER_02: Shit was wrong, man.
- 46:17SPEAKER_02: There had been rumors of you signing here for like three years that like really increased the old line room's anxiety every year.
- 46:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, you were like an anxiety spell.
- 46:26SPEAKER_02: I was like turning camera in, and it's like, is don't arise the coming?
- 46:29SPEAKER_02: Is it going to sign?
- 46:32SPEAKER_02: And then, you know, when you showed up, you just got right to work.
- 46:35SPEAKER_02: And like I said, uh first impression really was coming in Cleveland week one.
- 46:39SPEAKER_02: First win in Cleveland for me as a Cincinnati Bengals, by the way.
- 46:43SPEAKER_02: Going into the fourth time playing there.
- 46:45SPEAKER_02: So that was big, it was week one and in Cleveland.
- 46:48SPEAKER_02: And I I meant what I said.
- 46:50SPEAKER_01: I appreciate it, man.
- 46:51SPEAKER_02: Big Dell coming up early.
- 46:52SPEAKER_02: I loved that.
- 46:53SPEAKER_02: We were grinding film in the pool house.
- 46:56SPEAKER_02: In April.
- 46:57SPEAKER_02: In April.
- 46:57SPEAKER_02: Or May, whatever.
- 47:00SPEAKER_02: I forgot to tell Ray she was staying.
- 47:02SPEAKER_02: She's like, what the fuck?
- 47:05SPEAKER_02: There's a big guy in the pool house.
- 47:12SPEAKER_02: Oh.
- 47:12SPEAKER_02: And then I just remember you coming in right away.
- 47:15SPEAKER_02: We're like, oh hell yeah.
- 47:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 47:19SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 47:19SPEAKER_02: And trying to encourage you really the best I could.
- 47:24SPEAKER_02: And you've turned into a man right before our eyes.
- 47:29SPEAKER_02: A man, the man.
- 47:30SPEAKER_02: I love this man.
- 47:31SPEAKER_02: We're proud of you.
- 47:32SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 47:32SPEAKER_07: Leek, I'm curious, bro, from an outside perspective, like, what is what is the impression of our O-line?
- 47:38SPEAKER_07: Like when we talk about the people, yeah.
- 47:41SPEAKER_07: In a in a way.
- 47:42SPEAKER_07: Like I know it's like something a lot of people might not know about.
- 47:45SPEAKER_07: Like from the outside looking in, like, what do people see?
- 47:48SPEAKER_00: Well, I'll say this for the first for the first part.
- 47:51SPEAKER_00: Um, I don't think ever in Cincinnati Bengals history, or I grew up a Bengals fan, nobody's ever sat down with the entire offensive line.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: Nobody actually hears from the entire offensive line as one unit.
- 48:00SPEAKER_00: And so I think that's incredibly special.
- 48:03SPEAKER_00: I got to see every evolution that the offensive line took.
- 48:08SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about when Teddy got here and how excited people were, how pumped up, because obviously the story coming out was Burrow handpicked you.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: He wanted you to block for him.
- 48:17SPEAKER_00: That was the story.
- 48:18SPEAKER_00: Get the fuck out of here.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: That's a story behind a true story.
- 48:21SPEAKER_00: Is this true?
- 48:22SPEAKER_00: Joe didn't know what.
- 48:23SPEAKER_00: I have I have no idea if that's if that's the truth or not, but that was the story that came out.
- 48:30SPEAKER_00: Damn Joe Burrow.
- 48:32SPEAKER_00: But you gotta understand, though, we come from you know Cincinnati where we've been spoiled with tackles.
- 48:37SPEAKER_00: We've had Andrew Woodworth, Anthony, Anthony Munoz.
- 48:40SPEAKER_00: Um, I mean, the list goes on time and time again of the different guys that they've had come in here and block uh Willie Anderson.
- 48:45SPEAKER_00: Uh Willie's my guy, so I gotta make sure I mention that too.
- 48:48SPEAKER_00: Needs to be in the hall of fame, by the way.
- 48:49SPEAKER_00: Let's say that again.
- 48:50SPEAKER_00: We'll put Willie Anderson in the Hall of Fame.
- 48:51SPEAKER_08: Yeah.
- 48:52SPEAKER_00: And so each one of you guys, like I mean, like when you guys are getting added to the Bengals, whether it's through the draft or through free agency process, you guys got zeroed in, zeroed in on.
- 49:02SPEAKER_00: So I'll talk about you first and foremost, uh, uh, OB.
- 49:04SPEAKER_00: So when OB first got Bengals, once again, people thought the Bengals are gonna draft him, right?
- 49:09SPEAKER_00: Marvin Lewis was the head coach here at the time.
- 49:11SPEAKER_00: OB gets here.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: Everybody is through the roof.
- 49:14SPEAKER_00: I mean, me and Daniel went up to the studio at like 3 a.m.
- 49:17SPEAKER_00: and did a live talking about the signing of Orlando Brown.
- 49:20SPEAKER_00: Oh, it was OB Brown.
- 49:21SPEAKER_00: Yes, sir.
- 49:22SPEAKER_00: I mean, we we've come a long way.
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: I'm talking about from following what's my man's name, Landon Collins around Kenwood Mall.
- 49:28SPEAKER_00: There, I mean, not us, but Bengals fans following Landon Collins around, uh, you know, with cameras and stuff like that.
- 49:33SPEAKER_00: And, you know, the addition of you was insane to Cincinnati.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: Let me just say that.
- 49:39SPEAKER_00: Everybody knows what you were coming in with, you know, four-time pro bowler, Super Bowl champion.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: People were ecstatic because um, honestly speaking, we we had so much um question marks of the offensive line before you got here.
- 49:52SPEAKER_00: You settled that.
- 49:53SPEAKER_00: And so uh with Ted, I think I think Ted Ted won everybody over, man, when he says, Oh, pior's Tennessee, you know.
- 50:00SPEAKER_00: I just saw that video.
- 50:04SPEAKER_00: You know, obviously, man, and you know how invested you are with community, man.
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: I think it's just extremely special.
- 50:10SPEAKER_00: Um, but like you brought stability.
- 50:12SPEAKER_00: I remember the the center we had here, long-term center Cincinnati here had here was Kyle Cook.
- 50:17SPEAKER_00: And so, like, there was uh there was so many question marks.
- 50:20SPEAKER_02: Trey Hopkins had a good career here too, though.
- 50:21SPEAKER_02: Yes, he did.
- 50:22SPEAKER_02: Trey Hopkins, yes, for sure.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: He's a good player for for sure.
- 50:24SPEAKER_00: Trey Hopkins was a great player for Cincinnati, part of the Super Bowl uh team as well.
- 50:28SPEAKER_00: So I mean, you know, um, but I think long-term wise, like we that was a spot where we kept seeing so many different names kind of come in and out.
- 50:36SPEAKER_00: Uh, I'll get to yours last though.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna get to yours last.
- 50:39SPEAKER_00: Uh Dylan's in the making.
- 50:40SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes, yes, yes, legitimately do it.
- 50:44SPEAKER_00: Dylan, I think yours like came out like that throughout the draft process, because we're big into the draft process, you keep you kept hearing about your teammate, Tate Ratledge.
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: You kept hearing about your teammate Tate Ratledge, and then throughout the draft process, is like the Bengals really like this kid, Dylan Fairchild.
- 50:57SPEAKER_00: They really like this kid, and then they obviously brought in Scott Peters, and I actually am very curious to hear you guys' Scott Peters' stories, too.
- 51:02SPEAKER_00: But they talked about his wrestling background and MMA background and and and so on and so forth, and how you're just a guy that he absolutely gusses over, he loves.
- 51:11SPEAKER_00: So when the draft came, it was a shock to nobody that the bangles drafted you.
- 51:15SPEAKER_01: I'm glad we went with Dill.
- 51:16SPEAKER_00: Yes, man, and this is a true pro a true pro.
- 51:19SPEAKER_00: I think the thing people say when they talk about you is you don't you didn't play like a rookie, you didn't play like a rookie.
- 51:24SPEAKER_00: And maybe those are the moments you guys saw that everybody else didn't see, but you just came in and you came like brand.
- 51:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like you were you were locked in.
- 51:30SPEAKER_00: Mims, it's so funny.
- 51:31SPEAKER_00: The viral photo of you at the combine, I was standing right next to you.
- 51:34SPEAKER_00: You were asking, I forgot you were asking a question.
- 51:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, you were asking him a question.
- 51:38SPEAKER_00: You walk up, uh, you're standing right there, and everybody's like, holy shit, this dude is just tall.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: He's he's tall.
- 51:44SPEAKER_00: But I think the one thing people kept saying was, especially my guys, Trevor Sycoma, he's like, beautiful feet, beautiful feet.
- 51:49SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, obviously they were saying all the injury concerns, so to speak, you did away with all those right away.
- 51:55SPEAKER_00: But I think you came in here, everyone was like, This guy has the ability to be the best right tackle in football.
- 51:59SPEAKER_00: And you've done nothing besides prove that time and time again.
- 52:02SPEAKER_00: So shout out to you, man.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: Now, Dalton start the convo.
- 52:05SPEAKER_00: Man, right tackle in football.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: Stamp their motherfucking too.
- 52:09SPEAKER_00: Best right tackle in football.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: Damn right.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: Now, so for you, Dalton, I think that you kind of you kind of shrugged off when people said the best right guard in football, right?
- 52:17SPEAKER_00: That that quote earlier.
- 52:18SPEAKER_00: But like, yeah, if we're talking about PFF numbers, talking about your pass blocking grade, consistently top five in the entire league.
- 52:25SPEAKER_00: Consistently.
- 52:26SPEAKER_00: Why you were a free agent?
- 52:27SPEAKER_00: I will I will continue to campaign.
- 52:29SPEAKER_00: I have no idea why that was a thing.
- 52:31SPEAKER_00: And uh, so much so that I did several videos, people probably thought I was borderline obsessive, where I was like, this guy needs to get added to the Bengals offensive line.
- 52:38SPEAKER_00: I actually texted you, I don't know if you remember.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: You didn't respond.
- 52:42SPEAKER_00: I was like, Dang, man.
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: I said, I said, sorry, Dalton.
- 52:48SPEAKER_00: I said, I said, you guys need to add Dalton Reisner.
- 52:50SPEAKER_00: You go back in our text message.
- 52:52SPEAKER_00: Okay, I say you guys need to add Dalton Reisner, and um me and uh Dalton actually wind up DM was like, hey man, thanks for the video.
- 52:59SPEAKER_00: Like he was super, super, it was the truth, man.
- 53:02SPEAKER_00: I saw the work that you put in, obviously.
- 53:04SPEAKER_00: And you know, I feel like sometimes, especially when it comes to like offensive line, it's such a thankless position.
- 53:09SPEAKER_00: You know, people like to highlight the the lows and they don't really talk about the highs, right?
- 53:14SPEAKER_00: Like, and I I think that when you turn on the tape, you watch you block for several different quarterbacks, man.
- 53:20SPEAKER_00: The tape's it spoke for itself time and time again, man.
- 53:23SPEAKER_00: And that was your the one thing.
- 53:24SPEAKER_00: He's a great pass blocker, but there are question marks about the run.
- 53:28SPEAKER_00: And then you know, once again, you're you you erase those things, you erase those things.
- 53:32SPEAKER_00: I appreciate it.
- 53:33SPEAKER_00: And so uh again, when I look at it, I'm not I'm not shocked.
- 53:38SPEAKER_00: So I think that I think it says a lot about you guys.
- 53:41SPEAKER_00: This is the first time in the Joe Burrow era that they have the exact same returning offensive line.
- 53:45SPEAKER_00: You so I think you guys should be like that's something you guys should be incredibly proud of.
- 53:49SPEAKER_00: But it also I think it speaks to the type of men that you guys are, but also the type of competitors that you are as well.
- 53:53SPEAKER_00: So I think I can speak for Bengals fans and say like this is the best offensive line that we've seen here in quite some time.
- 54:00SPEAKER_00: And so we're we're pumped up about this season.
- 54:02SPEAKER_00: I think Bengals fans are pumped up about all of you individually as well.
- 54:05SPEAKER_00: And so, yeah, man, that's that's my thoughts on that.
- 54:07SPEAKER_00: That's great, bro.
- 54:08SPEAKER_07: It's fucking great.
- 54:12SPEAKER_07: It's a bald head two and oh, that's bald head, baby.
- 54:16SPEAKER_07: It is the bald head.
- 54:20SPEAKER_00: So I gotta ask you guys this.
- 54:22SPEAKER_00: Oh, what were you guys' first impression of Scott Peters when he got when he came to Cincinnati?
- 54:27SPEAKER_07: Oh, we're gonna start with you.
- 54:29SPEAKER_07: Yeah, shit, bro.
- 54:30SPEAKER_07: I mean, first off, I don't leave.
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: So, like, I mean I really don't.
- 54:35SPEAKER_07: I'm literally training in January with Joey Bose of the facility, and uh, they were going through the process.
- 54:42SPEAKER_07: Uh, they announced him as the offensive line coach, and I go up there and it's his first day, and him and Mike McCarthy are in the room, which is you know a funny sight to think about them just kind of you know being new to the to the whole setup.
- 54:58SPEAKER_07: Uh, but it was it was a great conversation, man.
- 55:00SPEAKER_07: He was just asking about the room, the people in the room, uh, the type of players we have, and uh, you know, what we want to build and and what we want to eventually you know get to uh in terms of our standard and you know what what it what it means to be a Bengals offensive lineman, you know, what is our brand?
- 55:16SPEAKER_07: And to me that that uh that stuck out man and said a lot about uh his approach.
- 55:21SPEAKER_07: Um you know, and and all that.
- 55:22SPEAKER_07: That's that's I'll probably say that's probably my best first impression.
- 55:25SPEAKER_02: I was excited to learn something new.
- 55:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, I had you know, when he got announced, I looked him up and started kind of watching some of his stuff.
- 55:32SPEAKER_02: I'd never really heard of any of this in 10 years.
- 55:35SPEAKER_02: So um tip of the spear.
- 55:37SPEAKER_02: Tip of the spear.
- 55:38SPEAKER_02: Tip of the spear.
- 55:38SPEAKER_02: But a lot of interesting, like you know, he made me believe in mid-zone.
- 55:42SPEAKER_02: That's a big one that uh I used to never believe that play existed.
- 55:46SPEAKER_02: I know you had run it, yeah.
- 55:47SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I run it a lot, and that's it.
- 55:50SPEAKER_02: And so I I was just really excited to learn the strike system, yeah.
- 55:54SPEAKER_02: What are these you know new techniques we're doing, and and kind of like a new run concept for me.
- 55:58SPEAKER_02: So I feel that was cool to really learn something completely foreign in year 10.
- 56:03SPEAKER_01: For sure.
- 56:04SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's good.
- 56:05SPEAKER_01: Um, I'd say with Scott, I feel like a lot of his coaching and his techniques have really helped me with my game.
- 56:12SPEAKER_01: Scott loves, talks about playing long, his strike system, getting your head and shoulders back, moving your feet.
- 56:17SPEAKER_01: But regardless, at the end of the day, one thing I love about Scott Peters is how much he cares.
- 56:21SPEAKER_01: He cares a lot, man.
- 56:22SPEAKER_01: Uh he cares about his guys, he cares about performing well, he wants to perform well, he's a competitor.
- 56:27SPEAKER_01: Uh so I got a lot of love and respect for Scott.
- 56:29SPEAKER_01: Um, grateful that he let me come and join this offensive line.
- 56:31SPEAKER_01: He's given me a shot to be a the starting right guard for the Bengals.
- 56:34SPEAKER_01: So um love what he's about.
- 56:36SPEAKER_01: Yes, sir.
- 56:37SPEAKER_06: Yeah, I mean, absolutely.
- 56:38SPEAKER_06: He definitely does care a lot.
- 56:40SPEAKER_06: And he uh he does a good job of just you know explaining to you that the whole goal of coaching is to get you better, you know, like he's not there to beat you down.
- 56:49SPEAKER_06: Uh and that's like a big plus to his you know style of coaching that I you know appreciate from him.
- 56:55SPEAKER_06: Um my first impression was with the con as was at the combine with him.
- 56:59SPEAKER_06: So you know, all of us know these those can be some stressful meetings sometimes, and you can get you know berated and barraged with all different types of questions and things.
- 57:10SPEAKER_06: So for me, it was it was a great meeting.
- 57:12SPEAKER_06: Like we, you know, obviously we did some stuff, we did some O-line, we did some schematic stuff, and then uh we got into just some some technical stuff, and he's gave me some stuff I could take home with me.
- 57:23SPEAKER_06: He's like, Man, even if even if we don't get you, like, you know, you can take this with you wherever you go.
- 57:28SPEAKER_06: And and I appreciated that as a player for sure.
- 57:30SPEAKER_06: So it's a great first impression for me.
- 57:32SPEAKER_05: For sure, for sure.
- 57:34SPEAKER_05: I'll say mine was um, well, Mike reached out to me first, and then I'm soon out there with Scott, and and then I just remember coming in, I'm meeting them both.
- 57:43SPEAKER_05: I just remember the first thing he told me, he was like, I watched your friend from last year, solid film, but you can be so much better.
- 57:50SPEAKER_05: He was like straight honest, and I'm like, I love that.
- 57:53SPEAKER_05: Like, tell me the truth.
- 57:54SPEAKER_05: He was like, we can take your game to another level.
- 57:56SPEAKER_05: And I just remember, like, from that day on, I just feel like he's been so consistently coaching me to just like strive to be one of the best tackles in NFL, honestly, because like he saw like some untapped potential in my game that that I didn't even see in myself.
- 58:11SPEAKER_05: Like, and just every day since then, he just keeps pushing me.
- 58:15SPEAKER_05: He'll just have to remind me, like, hey, like you could go out there and block a guy with bad form who's who's making a lot of money.
- 58:22SPEAKER_05: Imagine what you can do if you do it to the best of your ability to do it with good form.
- 58:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah, so him and Mike have done a good job of just hounding on me like day after day.
- 58:30SPEAKER_05: Just hey, good technique, good form, good strain, and just keep doing what coaching you and just imagine how like how like how like how good your game can go.
- 58:38SPEAKER_05: And that's one thing I'll say.
- 58:40SPEAKER_05: I I'm thankful for for them because you know they just push me to limits that I didn't know that I had.
- 58:44SPEAKER_05: And it's just as long as the season goes on, man, I'm gonna keep learning, keep getting better, and just keep striving to be great, man.
- 58:51SPEAKER_05: Because that's what it's all about.
- 58:52SPEAKER_05: So they did a good job doing that.
- 58:53SPEAKER_07: Yeah, I love that about them both, man.
- 58:55SPEAKER_07: You know, I think uh yeah, they stay on us.
- 58:58SPEAKER_07: You know, they're on us, and we're on them too, though.
- 59:00SPEAKER_07: Yeah, coach carries.
- 59:05SPEAKER_07: We on them too, man.
- 59:06SPEAKER_07: But they they stay on us, man.
- 59:08SPEAKER_07: And and I think you know, that's something that that we all kind of appreciate is you know, just them being able to help us all reach our full potential.
- 59:16SPEAKER_00: For sure, guys.
- 59:16SPEAKER_00: Listen, I got another question I gotta ask this man.
- 59:19SPEAKER_00: Um, what is something about offensive line play people don't understand?
- 59:24SPEAKER_00: I feel like it's one of those positions where people, unless you're unless you're you've played offensive line or you actually studied the film, you probably don't know what you're seeing out there.
- 59:31SPEAKER_00: You just have an opinion.
- 59:33SPEAKER_00: So I'm really curious.
- 59:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, man, bro.
- 59:36SPEAKER_00: I mean, it's a lot to unpack.
- 59:40SPEAKER_00: It's too much tonight.
- 59:41SPEAKER_05: I just feel like I just feel like everybody thinks they're O-line experts.
- 59:45SPEAKER_05: Nobody knows about O-line unless you played it, coached it, you've been through it, man.
- 59:50SPEAKER_02: It's just it's it's flawed with the grading system, it's flawed with the talking heads.
- 59:57SPEAKER_02: Yes, yeah, there's so much missing context.
- 59:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, the context is even as an O-line man in the NFL, when I'm watching someone else's film, sometimes you don't know the content of it.
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, we don't know their responsibilities.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_02: Like, what is going on?
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_02: And there's a there's a general general consistency, there's general, you know, it's a very good thing.
- 1:00:15SPEAKER_02: Good or bad, but there's there's a lot of missing context um to you know how people view O-line from the outside.
- 1:00:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like I feel like to Ted's point, they're always talking like five is one, and everyone talks about a fist and all this stuff.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: But like, I was telling I was talking about Mims with it today, and I said, like, people underestimate like for me to be a right guard, I have to have a good right tackle next to me.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, for me to be a good right guard, I have to have a good center next to me.
- 1:00:38SPEAKER_01: Ted's the best center I've ever played with, man.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_01: He's the best right tackle I've ever played with.
- 1:00:42SPEAKER_01: It's no coincidence that I'm having good years playing for the Bengals, and that's not just because I got up out of bed and became a better football player, that's because of who I'm playing next to.
- 1:00:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like I got some dogs next to me, I got a guy that runs the whole offense to my left and a freak of nature to my right.
- 1:00:56SPEAKER_01: And that affects how I play.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_01: That affects how I play, man.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: But people don't realize that.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_01: They think it's an individual game within one guy trying to be a part of five.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_01: No, man, like the way the men's plays is the way I play, the way Ted plays is the way I play.
- 1:01:09SPEAKER_01: And if you can't have that congruency between five, man, and it's hard for outside people to even understand what that means.
- 1:01:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's I've I've had coaches in the NFL that I don't even know if they know what that means.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_01: Oh, for sure.
- 1:01:19SPEAKER_01: I'm not trying, I'm just saying, in my eight years, I've had coaches that I question if they even really understand how that goes.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_07: For sure.
- 1:01:25SPEAKER_07: Like it's just to me, it's just so much that goes into it, man.
- 1:01:28SPEAKER_07: Like everything that they touched on, and uh it's just all of it, all of it, you know, like the responsibility.
- 1:01:34SPEAKER_07: It's it's hard from the outside looking in.
- 1:01:36SPEAKER_07: Like Ted said, when even when I'm watching Tampa on an offensive line, you look at this Chargers game on right now, like I like the responsibilities and who has who.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_07: Toss 39 cap, maybe?
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_07: I don't know, maybe it might be toss Nike Zebra.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_03: I don't know.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_02: That looked like a boss play to me.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_07: Yeah, like yeah, exactly.
- 1:01:53SPEAKER_00: So it's like you know what I mean, like I'm lost, yeah, yeah.
- 1:01:57SPEAKER_07: Everybody, what the fuck?
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_07: So, you know, it's like all of those things kind of go into it, man.
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_07: When when I think about offensive line play, and uh I love I loved everything that they uh they touched on.
- 1:02:07SPEAKER_07: Um gosh, I I'm trying to think of some some things that make our offensive line unique, and I guess it's not necessarily unique.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_07: It's one of the I guess the second place I've been where we had a fine board.
- 1:02:19SPEAKER_07: Oh um and I love the way that we do our fine board.
- 1:02:25SPEAKER_07: Do you have a picture of anybody have a picture of the fine board right now?
- 1:02:28SPEAKER_07: Yeah, you got a picture of it?
- 1:02:29SPEAKER_07: Nervous wreck.
- 1:02:30SPEAKER_07: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_07: That's a new one.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_07: That is a new one.
- 1:02:33SPEAKER_07: That is a new one.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_07: And you started the you started.
- 1:02:35SPEAKER_02: So uh how I understand the history of O-line fine boards with the New York Jets in the mid-2000s with Nick Mangled, Rest in Peace, Legend.
- 1:02:46SPEAKER_02: Um, I learned it from uh Ryan Fitzpatrick in Miami.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_02: We had a fine board there.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_02: We didn't have it in New England.
- 1:02:52SPEAKER_02: Okay, I guess it never made it there.
- 1:02:54SPEAKER_02: Um but it started there, and there's a whole bunch of different rules, like a lot of them have been passed down throughout the like the ownership fine.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_02: You get caught talking to ownership, but only if you get a picture.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_05: Yeah, here it is.
- 1:03:05SPEAKER_02: $2,000.
- 1:03:06SPEAKER_02: Or is it yeah, it's a two is we up into three dishes?
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's the fine board.
- 1:03:12SPEAKER_02: We can we can share it on the pod.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_02: We gotta share it.
- 1:03:15SPEAKER_07: Yeah, we gotta share it, we gotta share it on a pod.
- 1:03:17SPEAKER_02: But these are yeah, ask your best questions, and then yeah, but yeah, like a long standing fines, too, that have probably made it since then or cut the cord, which is don't you can't wear college gear.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_02: Yeah, um, any any day but Saturday.
- 1:03:29SPEAKER_02: Shields.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_02: Any shield.
- 1:03:30SPEAKER_02: Do we have any shields right now?
- 1:03:31SPEAKER_02: We have any shields.
- 1:03:32SPEAKER_02: No shields, no shields.
- 1:03:33SPEAKER_02: Jacob Bear is in it.
- 1:03:36SPEAKER_02: So Shield is wearing like a Bengals B shorts outside the outside the facility.
- 1:03:41SPEAKER_07: Yeah, Jacob Bear is our probably, yeah, he probably gets rewarded.
- 1:03:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah, nobody's off nobody's off limits with these spines.
- 1:03:46SPEAKER_01: Oh, that was gonna be my question.
- 1:03:47SPEAKER_01: We just got Jack Taylor.
- 1:03:49SPEAKER_01: Oh, Jack Taylor, yeah.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_01: Nervous.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_07: Oh, yeah.
- 1:03:51SPEAKER_07: Everybody in the building.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_07: Shit, Duke Tobin.
- 1:03:53SPEAKER_07: We got Duke Tobin.
- 1:03:54SPEAKER_07: Duke Tobin got a game ball.
- 1:03:56SPEAKER_02: What is that?
- 1:03:57SPEAKER_02: Uh another fan favorite is the self-sock.
- 1:04:00SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_02: If I was in film, they'd be like, oh, look how good this block was.
- 1:04:04SPEAKER_02: Like, like, yeah.
- 1:04:06SPEAKER_02: It's like big baller.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_02: Big ball is the big baller for y'all three.
- 1:04:09SPEAKER_03: I like big baller.
- 1:04:10SPEAKER_03: I like big baller.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_03: There's a thing over there that's teetering.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_03: Yeah, no, because that is teetering on a big baller.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_02: I'm like, no, yeah, but Dalton came up with a new fine this year called the Nervous Wreck.
- 1:04:25SPEAKER_02: And it's shit is great.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_02: It's$50.
- 1:04:29SPEAKER_02: It's because we want to give it a lot.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_02: It's indiscriminate.
- 1:04:32SPEAKER_02: Yep.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_02: Um, and Dalton came up with it, and you came up with a great idea that the the person who gets the most has to work a full day at Paradigm Construction, which is our my construction.
- 1:04:44SPEAKER_02: Jacob Bear's 25 an hour.
- 1:04:46SPEAKER_02: No, Jacob Bear's done.
- 1:04:47SPEAKER_02: He's fucked.
- 1:04:48SPEAKER_02: He's literally has to do it.
- 1:04:49SPEAKER_02: Yeah, he's going to do it.
- 1:04:50SPEAKER_02: Yeah, Bear's gonna be we're clearing a lot.
- 1:04:52SPEAKER_01: And the way this line came about was we were getting ready for the first day of practice.
- 1:04:58SPEAKER_01: It takes you like five or six days to get to full pads, as you know, for training camp.
- 1:05:01SPEAKER_01: You gotta work your way in towards it.
- 1:05:02SPEAKER_01: Jacob Bear had been in the facility since 3, 4 in the morning, typical day for Jacob.
- 1:05:06SPEAKER_01: And we had practice at like 11.
- 1:05:09SPEAKER_01: And he's walking by our lockers at like 9:30.
- 1:05:12SPEAKER_02: Jersey's practice, though.
- 1:05:13SPEAKER_02: It's a jersey's practice, just your jersey.
- 1:05:16SPEAKER_01: So you're in shorts and a jersey, maybe not even helmets that day.
- 1:05:19SPEAKER_01: He walks by us in his full game pants with knee pads and eye pads and carrying his shoulder pads.
- 1:05:25SPEAKER_01: Shit, so much so we made everybody nervous.
- 1:05:27SPEAKER_01: Like we are with.
- 1:05:28SPEAKER_01: So we looked at him, we said, You are a nervous wreck right now.
- 1:05:32SPEAKER_01: And that's kind of how the nervous wreck fine came about.
- 1:05:35SPEAKER_01: So now we've been giving them out.
- 1:05:38SPEAKER_02: We give them out, we give them out.
- 1:05:39SPEAKER_02: It's 50 bucks.
- 1:05:40SPEAKER_02: And so if you're on the fine board, like you know, it's O line, a couple tight ends, but like QBs, yeah, and then like you know, Duke Tobin's involved, and then we pull all the money, or like different different guys are involved.
- 1:05:51SPEAKER_02: Like, we'll assess a fine.
- 1:05:52SPEAKER_02: And if they accept it, they go on the board, and then technically they're allowed to go on the O line trip with us at the end.
- 1:05:58SPEAKER_02: We hired an accountant, Big Bri, Brian.
- 1:06:00SPEAKER_07: voted for me we changed the title this year we changed the title to CFO financial brian parker the rookie's our CFO and then Jalen the riverboat riverboat's the judge you can appeal any fine but if you lose your appeal double double is this a good segue into the Nightgator or is that yes we're talking about the night gator no but we talk about the night gator is it off limits it's off limits though I mean the question no go ahead and talk about it and I'll play my case again okay fuck it let the world okay oh so Teddy go ahead so every so I'll just say this so we do the we do the fine board at Ted's house so like we choose an off day the whole offensive line shows up Ted caters in for us and we do the fine board brand new pool this year brand new pool so it's fucking pig being played in the pool great vibes how many years we've done that you never lose at home three three or four three or four yeah really cool night and so we do the whole we do the whole fine board and all of that that same night so we get together new finds every year really yes and you have to vote line by line on each fine yeah we just some ones from last year we we said we're done with them some new ones like nervous who's the president Ted there's no president dictator that wasn't really voted but like he's really don't let nobody I did run for judge I got shouted down yeah he's not the judge but he was the president elected positions are CFO judge okay okay okay yo so the night gator well then talk about rage talk about rage finding it so for those who don't know I forget who talked about this but a nightgator is when you leave a dump in the toilet overnight and the night gator's lurking and somebody left a turd in the pool house bathroom overnight the night gator lurked and and my wife found it we wanted to pick up trash picks up the picks up the seed and there's a there's a gator poking on yeah and so on did some we did some dig and the next day it worked yeah we found Dylan guilty his story started out like I didn't even go to the restroom and then it changed to it was just March an hour an hour later an hour later he said it was just a little shit but there was no toilet paper so Dylan took it to the judge he was upset about it I said there wasn't up with the fine that morning we said this fine is called the night gator so we said Dylan took the night gator to Jalen Rivers and he got denied doubled them up you're found as the night gator you have to write a hand written letter this is a whole process this dude is real this dude is for real and you have to apologize and and admit to being the night gator but you never wrote the letter handwritten I never it's night time next time I become next time I become the night gator I don't know it'll be a letter spawn as you can see it's really just a fun way we throw out a lot of fines too we'll just I mean and it makes our trip better yeah so like yeah and basic yeah sorry to cut you off but basically what we do at the end of the year is we take all this money and we go to Vegas or Miami we're going to fucking Vegas we go Vegas we go to Vegas it lasts us like one night obviously yes maybe dinner it lasts us the well it's the welcome dinner to 30 minutes.
- 1:09:58SPEAKER_01: Yes and so we go on our trip to Vegas and we hang out together and we eat good food and we go out and we have a vet like Orlando who flies us on a PJ and the whole offensive goes above and beyond for the guy DeFi goes above and beyond a legit private jet all the way to Vegas for us to go enjoy our time that's the stuff that people don't hear about.
- 1:10:21SPEAKER_01: Like he doesn't make sure people know about it's gonna be later this year letting people know I'm taking care of the I think it might be March this year.
- 1:10:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah for sure level 10 vibes guy yeah all for the vibes having Soto here at the house on Thursday night gators getting published Ted took care of a big night out in Vegas too which was great.
- 1:10:40SPEAKER_02: He did he did that shit is funny yeah we can't tell we can no but that shit is still funny it is a funny story.
- 1:10:49SPEAKER_07: Yes so not a bad story guys it's a funny one it's it's a little edgy yeah we'll leave that story I got I got a quick question for you guys man uh you because you guys have so much experience obviously amongst yourselves right you played with no town hurrah Orlando you're the only tackle they bought for you know Mahomes, Burrow and Large actually uh you both both played obviously at Georgia carriers here some of those stories and obviously you've been around had a lot of success whether it's in Minnesota and Denver what's the biggest piece of advice you guys got throughout your time you know whether it's uh in in the league or even maybe in the col the college level damn man I've like you said I've I've been around so many great players uh wow and who gave it to by the way yeah no man I think uh one of the strongest one of the strongest pieces of advice I got was from my dad uh obviously he played forever but his his message to me early on when I started playing football was always uh have consistent character um and no matter how bad of a game you have how good of a game you have being the consist being the same guy you come in the building every fucking day yeah like yeah and and fully embracing that you know not enough to look stupid you know what I mean but like fully embracing uh who you are and have a consistent consistent character every single day like that's literally you brought it's literally you like you've literally taken that really well yeah I just feel like I've like like I don't know it just for for some for whatever reason it's allowed me to do it this long.
- 1:12:27SPEAKER_02: Like I think that's probably like my best best advice I've gotten what's you mine was Dante Skarnecki had know what you are and he would say know what you are Ted you're a grunt so that's a gold offensive line coach I think about that every day of my life and it's served me well.
- 1:12:43SPEAKER_01: If a grunt is that I'll take that any day of the week me too I'll take that any day of the week.
- 1:12:47SPEAKER_01: Mike Munchak who's a Hall of Famer gold jacket player in the old Michaels?
- 1:12:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah in Denver for three years man like honestly huge role model came to my wedding like I love that guy a lot of and he's a legit dude bro and one thing that he always told me call me Rook for the all three years.
- 1:13:03SPEAKER_01: Still calls me Rook I call him he says what's up Brook and he'd always tell me because I was I think I was a roller coaster guy as a rookie I was probably the opposite of what you just said and he's like Rook I'm reminding you it's not far from the penthouse to the shit house and I've always remembered that I think that's really good advice uh for me week to week just realizing like in this league I feel like there's no in-between like you're either up there in the penthouse or you're right down there in the shit house.
- 1:13:26SPEAKER_06: So uh shout out Mike Munchak man shout out Mike Munchak man I'd probably say um I mean I've had a lot of advice in my life but really the thing that's stuck with me over the past two years has been when I met Orlando is like man just be you you know I think that was that's that's a huge part of what we do you know like sometimes it's not pretty sometimes it doesn't look good sometimes you play great sometimes you don't and you know like like these guys are saying like you got to know who you are and and and then be you you know so it's a big piece of advice that I've taken with me just throughout the course of my you know short career so far and you know just try to do that every single day.
- 1:14:06SPEAKER_07: Yeah I just I feel like so often in what we do and and Ted and Dalt can express it as like I I like being you is enough and I know for a while and like what we do that can sometimes be conflicting you know in a way but like being you is enough.
- 1:14:22SPEAKER_07: Like you being online it is it is it is but like you embracing who you are like wholeheartedly exactly like that shit is enough.
- 1:14:31SPEAKER_06: Yeah it's hard to it's it's also you know when you get into those people that you know they put on that that fake act yeah and it's like you gotta you gotta play that the rest of your life man you know so just being you is the best way to do it.
- 1:14:44SPEAKER_06: So for sure.
- 1:14:45SPEAKER_07: Memzi what you got for me Memzy?
- 1:14:47SPEAKER_05: Man I got so much advice but you already know what I'm about to say.
- 1:14:50SPEAKER_05: Which would from the wise words of Orlando Brown and Trent Brown when I first came in yeah they told me don't think hard don't play like don't think long don't think hard play 68350 that was probably some of the best advice I've ever gotten in my entire life just I just felt like at the time like I could I could move pretty good to be a big guy pretty strong.
- 1:15:14SPEAKER_05: And then like I said he was I swear they both told me he said you ain't gotta think hard man you know the plays you go out there and play 6'8 350.
- 1:15:20SPEAKER_05: It's good and that's that that's that's the best advice I've ever gotten in my entire life when it comes to football yeah keep it simple man i i think about it like literally like I'm tired or if I'm like going through it you play 6'8350 you made it on the board for two best advice that's big time that's pretty funny these motherfuckers also already 20 how old are y'all 20 21 and 19 20 23 bro that's that's good though man so go ahead so i i mean i feel like people don't get to hear from you guys like what you guys like to do outside of football right so what what are some things some hobbies you guys like to do outside of football non-football we're gonna start with you men's well as many people don't know or have seen on my Instagram I am big into Pokemon okay yeah I collect Pokemon cars man i've been I've been at it for some months now and um my collection's growing pretty big like pretty big where to start where to start man just started just being curious about a year and a half ago uh I was talking to Shamar Stewart uh Drew Sample and um a couple other guys and they were just like yeah man I've been on it so I started watching videos started just just watching YouTube videos starting to understand I'm like man this is cool then after the season started like after the season ended this past year I was like all right bought my first Pokemon card nothing like nothing nothing of it man I'm talking about any off day I get like after today I'm gonna go buy Pokemon cars and just being honest with you tomorrow I'm off Hobby House in Madeira you go in person or you like to tell you I have a place in um here uh Hobby House in Madeira okay uh I go to uh Midwest cars in um Columbus on my off day I drive up there Columbus what you've done it this year I've done it multiple times he did he did a few weeks ago you put up on a mobile for like for the past two weeks last week you brought it in the other day that collection looks sweet yeah John Allen too yeah yeah John Allen man he's definitely like I said John Allen me and him bond over this is crazy we're like kids like we'll sit down and talk about Pokemon all day if we could but yeah man I have a pretty solid collection six figure collection now it's crazy that shit win big baller big baller yeah man I just I've been taking it serious so yeah man something I want to keep doing and then have for my kids one day how many tens you got how many tens I have a lot I can tell you how many tens you got I have because that's supposed to be like the big like what like PSA 10 PSA 10s oh 10 they're graded this is there's a it's a brand new world here I grew up on playing it in the Game Boy and then I actually I'm excited to go back to my mom's house I got a box of cards from the 90s graded 10s OB 163 163 so can you get your cars graded well yeah we'll see if there's anything in there I don't know it probably is though it's got old cars where do you get them graded at you have to take them to like ship them in and you were telling me there's like delays in the grading process it's a whole I got the lowdown from you and Drew but night before they get like yeah PSA is backed up like months it might take you like six months to get your cars back.
- 1:18:21SPEAKER_01: Wow yeah okay that's insane yeah how about you man I uh I like to fish I like to go outside hang out sometimes I'll camp with my family a little bit you know especially in the wintertime you just go out there you know it's a little chilly you know have a fire simple man that's simple simple man I keep it simple like I'm a simple simple individual you know got a wife spend my time with her yeah shout out Liz play some sim five seven and you'd be on sim seven oh yeah bro I'm man I am he grinds big and bro that's crazy I didn't know that tell me Joe Tun is Joe Toon is on the sim Joe Tune put me on yeah what I didn't know that yeah that's crazy really yeah yeah yeah he was big when I was playing him a big game well I put him on roam total war if you've never played that one is that a goon the sickest video game or computer game ever made by the way roam total war download that bitch tonight you can download on the iPad bet even better yeah I know you're going to too yeah yeah right now yeah yeah right now I'm prussia trying to take over Europe yeah the Prussia total invasion tonight how about you doll man hobbies outside of ball um fortnight yeah I played Fortnite with Mims I'm not really a big gamer I'm not very good at games did you think I was very good at Fortnite claims you won the Natty on Heisman I did win the Natty on Heisman I did win the Natty on Heisman I like a little NCAA okay um I'm like a Wednesday night gamer or like Tuesday afternoon gamer but outside of ball I love fasting I'm really big into fasting okay I did a last off season I did a 10 day water only fast so I'm big into like how much can I drop do like a body comp do fasting for zero to ten days however many hours it is and then build it back up that shit sound crazy yeah 10 days water only do you ever fast in season like not in the season though okay no I'm at 330 steady I'm good you better not you got it you better not and running I like running man hang out with my wife all those things I enjoy bro what about what about some of your community work like I I don't know if you feel comfortable talking about it of course bro um yeah I I came from a family that you know we didn't have a lot growing up um lived in multiple different houses uh just didn't have a lot to be honest and always promised myself like man if I'm ever able to have the platform I'm gonna do good with that platform and I created my own foundation in college it's kind of like a mom and pop's foundation when you stack it next to like the Cincy hat.
- 1:21:05SPEAKER_01: So I got a lot of respect for what Ted has built.
- 1:21:06SPEAKER_01: But for sure um I'm also really proud of what my foundation has done too because we just we believe in doing good man.
- 1:21:12SPEAKER_01: So whatever city I go to like whether it's uh last week we did some work with the Boys and Girls Club or tomorrow I think I'm gonna go to a hospital.
- 1:21:20SPEAKER_01: But like um man to me it's more about like I want to use this platform for good.
- 1:21:24SPEAKER_02: I want to be able to walk away from ball and be like man while I had that platform and people thought I was cool and um wanted to get my autograph or whatever it may be I used it to glorify Jesus most importantly because that's by far the most important thing to me but second of all I can look back and be proud that I maybe helped the family that was like mine growing up I love that appreciate Obi thanks for the show man yeah no of course Teddy what are your what are your options I play a lot of different roles I'm leaving this this needs to be an elaborate answer I know I want the world to know yeah I mean I'm leaving it I gotta I got a charity dinner like an awesome does um gosh well I guess I'll rank my roles as I go my family my wife and daughter number one Cincinnati Bengals football number two since he hat foundation it's my why I always thought it was corny to have a why and then I never really understood it until the Cincy hat came about and that's why I do want to keep playing um to build homes for the intellectually disabled it's it's been a crazy journey after that Marion University Knights football I also helped shout out Papa Ked Coach big win over Madonna last week I know very three goals what's the record three ones by this team we should have killed but whatever he's he's actually right now he's playing the TV he said no other meetings besides me this week it's bye week and they're just we're watching the TV copy oh fuck bro it's rough they pulled it out though to their credit and I love the I love the nights and I trade some sponsorships for to have like drinks and dance hoist shout out hoist um gosh where was I at what your your why I was at Marion number four I was at Marion Hoist and then I guess yeah Paradigm Construction I conduct a lot of business yeah um very cool there and then I'm gonna be in uh two movies this year what Rodney's name's my character's name and one of them I don't know the other streaming on Apple Plus exclusively I'm here for it to be but then I'm also a pretty uh big time voracious reader uh I read a lot of books um I have three degrees wow and yeah so we have I I do a lot of different stuff two stories to go along with Ted's uh one with his since he had one thing I've always thought is super cool.
- 1:23:59SPEAKER_01: We all know Jembo man we all know Jumbo outside the facility too you know Ted's one of the guys that he might do these things but he also like lives up to it and I just think it's cool because there's this guy that has an intellectual disability um of some sort I'm not sure exactly what it is but he's in some of Ted's housing I believe but regardless he's not he's not in some of Ted's housing but regardless he's always outside the Bengals facility um waiting to see Ted giving Ted newspapers asking for gator's asking for gloves but Ted's giving him cash every single week to get him through taking care of him and I just think it's really cool because he lives up to what he talks about.
- 1:24:34SPEAKER_01: He's not just someone that's going to do it in front of the media but he literally you can literally see it every day when you go to facility the impact that he's kind of having on the community I mean I I say this as somebody obviously who's not part of the offensive line room I hear so many stories outside of football about you.
- 1:24:48SPEAKER_00: You checking in on people you're you're making sure people are good and I think that's amazing uh that speaks to the the type of man that you are man and I think that you're creating a real lasting impact here in Cincinnati.
- 1:24:57SPEAKER_07: More I don't know if you even realize you are but you're creating a lasting impact and he was not kidding people do call you say you're gonna run for mayor of Cincinnati at some point I was talking about him when I got Ted oh yeah he's the mayor he's the mayor yeah he's the mayor you know everybody that you need to know oh you OB yeah let's hear over here a lot of toys in this house there's a lot of toys a lot of weird shit going on expensive ones yeah a lot of weird shit going on shout out this fucking drum set too Teddy got me this drum set for Christmas a few years ago but um yeah I've like shit it's I feel like I have so many with so little uh I started collecting comic books when I was a young kid um we I grew up in Baltimore we would always go to New York uh you know my dad had a small apartment there and so we would go up there and they got this big ass comic book store I don't know why I'm forgetting the name of it off the top of my head but it's got to be the biggest one in the U.S.
- 1:25:54SPEAKER_07: And uh we would go up there and I would I would just buy these five dollar comics and it's just kind of grown.
- 1:25:59SPEAKER_07: I've got so many different lots I've been been collecting those man probably since I was seven or eight years old.
- 1:26:05SPEAKER_07: So I got a lot of different comic books.
- 1:26:07SPEAKER_07: I got Funko's I started collecting Funko's uh that's something that I really enjoy man spending time with my kids spending time with my girl as these as these guys mentioned as well man it's it's uh that's always really special especially right now in football you know just looking to uh sometimes you know you don't want to get it too far away from it but to get away and just be in the moment uh it's always good to spend that you know that time with your girl and and your kids man uh didn't you get like a crazy comic that you had no clue that it had to have yeah have like an original uh Wolverine comic man and I know you tell me about that yeah well you know pretty much pretty much what happened was like Stan Lee was having like some kind of fucking signing in in New York City and I had no idea like we go in this comic book store and I'm you know I'm with my mom and Stan Lee signed this signs this comic I mean is worth over a hundred thousand dollars like it's crazy yeah crazy as a kid you're just thinking yeah as a kid you just going in you like oh stan Lee the Spider-Man guy that was on Spider-Man like that was the first thing crossed my mind you know so uh so I got I got I got some pretty some pretty cool shit man I got a lot of my dad's jerseys too that's probably like my strongest collection of anything a lot of the stuff but you're a pretty good gamer too I was just about to say man that's like that's probably like my my main thing I'm doing if I'm I'm not playing football or watching it is I'm I'm uh or hanging out with my kids my name is Jeff yeah my name is Jeff I am blind Jeff on Xbox and I am I am what's your character you play with I play incredible hawk on Marvel Rivals nasty on the rivals yeah yeah bro I like the the the rival shit is crazy like I the game came out in 20 after the 2023 season in December and I started playing it after our season ended January of 24 and so like I spent like a whole year basically figuring out this fucking game so there's like it's a six V6, there's three different roles.
- 1:28:01SPEAKER_07: There's Vanguards, DPS, and strategist.
- 1:28:03SPEAKER_07: The strategist's responsibility is to heal the team.
- 1:28:06SPEAKER_07: So they have these different powers to heal the team.
- 1:28:08SPEAKER_07: DPS responsibility is pretty much to kill.
- 1:28:11SPEAKER_07: Vanguards is to create space.
- 1:28:12SPEAKER_07: And so I was figuring out which role I like and which one I like the most.
- 1:28:16SPEAKER_07: Came across the Hulk.
- 1:28:17SPEAKER_07: I spent time on all the other roles, but Hulk is my most effective.
- 1:28:20SPEAKER_07: And about uh, I'm gonna say a few, probably in like December, January, these pros reached out to me.
- 1:28:29SPEAKER_07: They're like, hey bro, really like your game.
- 1:28:31SPEAKER_07: Would love to do a VOD review.
- 1:28:33SPEAKER_07: So I sit down with these pros of Barber Rivals and they give me like the full rundown on how to play this fucking character.
- 1:28:41SPEAKER_07: So now I'm like top 50 Hulk in the world.
- 1:28:43SPEAKER_07: Really?
- 1:28:47SPEAKER_08: But I love it though.
- 1:28:52SPEAKER_05: I can promise you, man.
- 1:28:53SPEAKER_05: All I see is his glasses, and I know what he's doing.
- 1:28:57SPEAKER_03: I can see I can see the handband, and I can see the glasses, and I know what he's doing.
- 1:29:02SPEAKER_03: Yeah, never mind, bro.
- 1:29:03SPEAKER_03: You're definitely gaming right now.
- 1:29:04SPEAKER_03: I'm locked in, dawg.
- 1:29:05SPEAKER_03: So, like, that's the gaming and watching football, man.
- 1:29:08SPEAKER_00: Have you played the new Wolverine game that just came out?
- 1:29:10SPEAKER_07: I have it.
- 1:29:10SPEAKER_07: I have I have I got a PlayStation, I don't have it plugged in necessarily, but I'll probably play it at some point.
- 1:29:15SPEAKER_00: Man, listen, man.
- 1:29:17SPEAKER_00: Um, I guess my my final question for you guys is man, this has been great.
- 1:29:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah, you know, obviously, first we didn't even say it.
- 1:29:24SPEAKER_00: Congratulations.
- 1:29:24SPEAKER_00: Y'all boys are two and no.
- 1:29:27SPEAKER_01: Who they're number three.
- 1:29:28SPEAKER_00: What do you what do you guys want people to remember about this offensive line when they look back?
- 1:29:34SPEAKER_07: Yeah, man, I shit so many things, but you know, I I think about um man, for for what we want to go to, for what we want to go accomplish, and with the intent that we play and approach the game with, man, I I think that, you know, I hope people are able to see our passion through the tape, uh, our love for one another through the tape.
- 1:29:55SPEAKER_07: Um, you know, man, just just how physical and hungry our group is, you know, I think uh those things are so important, man.
- 1:30:03SPEAKER_07: When when I when I think about the foundation of who we all are and what we what we've already built and even building more, uh, you know, those are things for me that I think are you know at the top of the list.
- 1:30:16SPEAKER_07: Watch you guys.
- 1:30:17SPEAKER_02: I just hope they remember us as the ones that got it done.
- 1:30:20SPEAKER_02: Fucking right.
- 1:30:20SPEAKER_02: That too.
- 1:30:21SPEAKER_02: I was gonna say the same thing, man.
- 1:30:22SPEAKER_02: I've never been a champion, champions.
- 1:30:26SPEAKER_01: You know, that's the one.
- 1:30:26SPEAKER_07: We will though.
- 1:30:28SPEAKER_07: We will.
- 1:30:29SPEAKER_06: Yeah, man.
- 1:30:30SPEAKER_06: I I think for me too, like we say it every day, five is one, you know.
- 1:30:34SPEAKER_06: And you can see that, hopefully, when you turn on the tape, you know, we've still got a lot to prove this year um for what we want to do and and accomplish.
- 1:30:41SPEAKER_06: But you know, I think the biggest thing for us is like playing, playing as a unit.
- 1:30:45SPEAKER_06: It's like that's that's that's the number one trick of the trade is playing as one, you know, one unit, and that's what we gotta do every single time.
- 1:30:54SPEAKER_06: And and and we work on it every day.
- 1:30:56SPEAKER_05: So man, just for me, man.
- 1:31:00SPEAKER_05: I know like I try not to like listen to the outside noise, but I just remember like though just like just being like before I got here, like how negative everybody talked about the O line.
- 1:31:11SPEAKER_05: And I just feel like, like you said earlier in the interview, um, this is the first O line that um that's been brought back to play for a consecutive year.
- 1:31:18SPEAKER_05: Yeah and like the Joe Burrow tenure.
- 1:31:20SPEAKER_05: And I just want people to realize like that narrative is out the window, in my opinion.
- 1:31:24SPEAKER_05: Like that's it's me and four of the guys that take pride in our job.
- 1:31:28SPEAKER_05: We come in every day, we work hard, we understand that mistakes are gonna be made, but we know that if we stick together, that we're one of the best of the um, like really, like not, if not the best, one of the best of the lines in the NFL when we're playing together.
- 1:31:40SPEAKER_05: Yeah, that's just no doubt you can cut tape on.
- 1:31:42SPEAKER_05: Yep.
- 1:31:43SPEAKER_05: I mean, it's just I feel like, you know, it's like I said, as this season goes on, it's gonna be a long season, but we have high goals for ourselves, high goals for our team, and like I said, man, we're gonna keep fighting.
- 1:31:54SPEAKER_05: And um, like I said, I'm just I'm just glad I get to come to work with a bunch of guys, man, who who like love the game just like I love it and like see it through the same eyes as me, man.
- 1:32:02SPEAKER_05: And like I said, I'm like I said, I'm very appreciative of this group, and um, you know, I'm just glad I get to do um go to work with you guys.
- 1:32:09SPEAKER_00: So get a shirt, mate.
- 1:32:10SPEAKER_00: Cut the tape.
- 1:32:11SPEAKER_05: I like that.
- 1:32:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, cut the tape.
- 1:32:12SPEAKER_07: I like that.
- 1:32:13SPEAKER_07: Cut on the tape, I like that.
- 1:32:14SPEAKER_07: I like that.
- 1:32:15SPEAKER_07: Well, I feel like uh I feel like we kept the guys longer than I expected.
- 1:32:18SPEAKER_07: No, it's fun though, bro.
- 1:32:19SPEAKER_07: This is holy shit, yeah.
- 1:32:21SPEAKER_07: It's a blast.
- 1:32:22SPEAKER_07: Um, so I guess I'll just uh sign us off.
- 1:32:25SPEAKER_07: Um make sure you like it, subscribe.
- 1:32:28SPEAKER_02: Please, please uh respond to your favorite fine on the fine board.
- 1:32:33SPEAKER_02: Respond to your favorite fine, who should we find next?
- 1:32:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, who yeah.
- 1:32:38SPEAKER_02: Who gets the next nervous wreck?
- 1:32:40SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:32:40SPEAKER_01: Who gets the nervous?
- 1:32:42SPEAKER_06: Who's the next night gator?
- 1:32:44SPEAKER_06: Yeah, who the fuck is the night gator?
- 1:32:46SPEAKER_07: Yeah, because it wasn't me.
- 1:32:48SPEAKER_07: Um and uh thank you guys.
