Transcript
- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome into Duval, daily presented by Genjag.com and fuel by brass tax.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: Coffee right now, we are talking Jack's training camp in preseason, players who and one wear another over the last week or so have really.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: come on and stood out and maybe showing you something that you hadn't seen before, whether that be in the Saints game or joint practices or practice, the jaguars have a wealth of depth in a lot of areas.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think obviously a lot of people point to offensive line depth and saying that's not good enough.
- 0:36[SPEAKER_00]: I honestly think they just have a offensive line health issue right now.
- 0:40[SPEAKER_00]: I mean it's beyond depth like they got their best depth out of there as quickly as they could against the Saints because look, they didn't want any more guys getting injured.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: Chuma dogo went down, they got mile them out, they got
- 0:53[SPEAKER_00]: Um, Monha, I'm out, pregnant I'm played for a little bit longer because he's a rookie, but they got those guys out of there and they all did a good job, but we're going to dive into players that I just kind of think is like turning a corner over the last week or so and maybe my perception of where they're at right now in their development process and in their ability to contribute for the jag wars is maybe a little bit of a head of where I would have said a week ago.
- 1:17[SPEAKER_00]: So, excited again to it.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 1:19[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content,
- 1:22[SPEAKER_00]: I'll just hit that hype button on YouTube.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: It's all jacks all the time.
- 1:26[SPEAKER_00]: So again, thanks so much for being here.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: Emmanuel Pregnant.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: Gosh, the more you watch him and what he did on Saturday and then carry that over and take a look even further at what he was able to do today, it was impressive because, you know, well, first of all, he's incredibly strong.
- 1:47[SPEAKER_00]: He's a powerful athlete and in a short area, he is actually explosive.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: He just doesn't have that like, get out and go second, third level type of movement and saying lateral movement, all that stuff.
- 2:01[SPEAKER_00]: But plays with a super wide bass, super strong punches, super strong hands like he knocked people on the ground, a good bit in that game and really kind of served to notice as to why he was a player that really was viewed as like,
- 2:18[SPEAKER_00]: easily a second-round pick in 2026 and he ended up being a third-round pick falling all the way 88 overall and the Jaguar just felt like at that point that there was no reason to pass so they went and got him and there's been like some ups and downs like he's a rookie playing in NFL training camp for the first time against a really talented defensive line
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: I think that defensive line.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Pretty much got him ready to take on the Saints in a big way.
- 2:47[SPEAKER_00]: And he went against talent against the Saints too.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Like, Kristen Miller was out there.
- 2:50[SPEAKER_00]: Some other guys were out there too.
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: Kristen Miller, y'all know me.
- 2:52[SPEAKER_00]: That's a guy I wanted here in Jacksonville.
- 2:55[SPEAKER_00]: Love, love Kristen Miller and what he brings to the table.
- 2:57[SPEAKER_00]: But Pregnal went toe to toe.
- 3:00[SPEAKER_00]: And that was a guy who was a high-second round pick.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: I think he has changed my mind to the point where it's like, okay.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: I know I like Ezra Cleveland a lot at left guard.
- 3:15[SPEAKER_00]: Ezra Cleveland's definitely a little bit more well rounded of an athlete.
- 3:21[SPEAKER_00]: Today the Jags were experimenting with Ezra Cleveland at a right tackle.
- 3:27[SPEAKER_00]: Because again, there's injuries right now.
- 3:29[SPEAKER_00]: Walker Little did participate in individual drills but didn't participate in team.
- 3:33[SPEAKER_00]: Patrick McHerry still not participating in team Colvin, Lannon, still working off to the side.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_00]: public, right?
- 3:40[SPEAKER_00]: So, I look at, you know, could if there are, like, let's just, and I'll happen that a gold world where you have to play a game without Walker, little and Colvin, Lannon, could as your Cleveland playwright tackle or why I'm playing playwright tackle and then Emmanuel Pregnant play left card.
- 4:01[SPEAKER_00]: Could Emmanuel Pregnant play right card?
- 4:04[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I've liked a lot more of what I've seen from Monheim at Center than Guard personally, but all that to say, like, maybe pregnant on could start sooner rather than later.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe that would not be a bad thing, because he brings a type of physicality and bully ball mentality that I just don't think you really have much else to that.
- 4:27[SPEAKER_00]: I mean,
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: I do like the idea of him and Harrison playing next to each other, and they both can be violent.
- 4:35[SPEAKER_00]: Like Harrison is not a maller at the point of attack, but he can get after it and kind of finish blocks really well.
- 4:44[SPEAKER_00]: Even though he's more of like the prototypical athletic, great length, all that stuff, like he can get nasty too, and pregnant on really can.
- 4:54[SPEAKER_00]: I'm just trying to say, I think he could probably be ready to play sooner rather than later, based on what I've seen over the last week.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: Jalen Husky could be the same thing.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he looked like he had really good instincts in coverage the other day.
- 5:08[SPEAKER_00]: Jack horse safety, another third round pick this year.
- 5:14[SPEAKER_00]: He was contributing on special teams.
- 5:16[SPEAKER_00]: They talked about how he did get penned down one time on
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, you know, for me, the way he played at safety, which the Jaguars, they're not necessarily in need of a safety right now.
- 5:27[SPEAKER_00]: They have Eric Murray, Antonio Johnson, Kayla Branson, right on Lane, but, you know, Jalen Husky, the way he can cover and he's a former corner.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_00]: The way he can cover, but also brings a physicality.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: It's an impressive mix, and he, like, based on the way he played at Maryland, I thought he would come in and look a little bit bigger than he does, but he plays bigger than he is.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: He does, and you haven't really been able to see that until the pads come on, and he's actually going against a different opponent.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: He's not wanted to hurt his guys out here on the practice field and go get after it too hard, but he really did play with an energy and a speed that I thought was really impressive, Jalen Husky on Saturday.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: He's been making more and more plays throughout camp as well, so yeah, definitely Jalen Husky.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: Another one is a player, you know, BTJ.
- 6:24[SPEAKER_00]: the other B.T.J.
- 6:25[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. on the defensive side, a rookie at a South Carolina, partly due to exact earthy is dealing with something right now, injury-wise, I don't know exactly what it is, but he's working off to the side.
- 6:38[SPEAKER_00]: He only had five snaps against the Saints.
- 6:41[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. is flashing, and he's a guy, he's not as, he's
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: You know, well built like physically from a strength profile as a BJ Green, but he does have that
- 6:57[SPEAKER_00]: You know, shorter and stature kind of diminutive for an edge player is six two and he has that natural leverage combined with a like I think like a little bit of bend and flexibility to get around the edge can convert speed to power getting up under your pads.
- 7:13[SPEAKER_00]: That's just a difficult assignment for offensive tackles who are much taller and all that stuff and especially when you think of it as a change up.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: from a Josh Heinz Allen, who is really big defensive end.
- 7:28[SPEAKER_00]: Hey, Trayvon Walker, who is a gigantic defensive end?
- 7:31[SPEAKER_00]: And then you switch it up to having to deal with a B.J.
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: Green, or Brian Thomas Jr. And basically, it's like, can you get this guy on the roster?
- 7:44[SPEAKER_00]: If you don't put him on the roster, is he gonna make it somewhere else?
- 7:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's gonna make it back to your practice squad.
- 7:51[SPEAKER_00]: Um, it's interesting because like over the last week to me, he's definitely, and obviously Derfey deal with something injury wise.
- 8:01[SPEAKER_00]: off to the side.
- 8:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's flashing.
- 8:05[SPEAKER_00]: I just liked, I liked the change up that Brian Thomas Jr. brings in a big way.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: I'm not saying I want him on the team over as actor if anything like that.
- 8:13[SPEAKER_00]: It's just over the last week.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: He has really been making his presence felt especially on Saturday night.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I thought that was an awesome performance by him and he was setting the edge, too.
- 8:24[SPEAKER_00]: absolutely was.
- 8:26[SPEAKER_00]: You know, speaking of Saturday night, you all know I took the jacks over at my booky.
- 8:29[SPEAKER_00]: There were one and a half point road underdogs.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: Took them to cover that and they did this week.
- 8:36[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars are hosting the Panthers and they're three and a half point home favorites over the Panthers.
- 8:41[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know which direction I'm going, but I do know I'm going to my bookie to check it out and you can find all the action you want on my bookie, mobile or desktop.

- 9:22[SPEAKER_00]: for free confidential support available 24.7 and looking at more jaguars players who have really flashed over the last week, I say BJ Green because he's a player that, you know, he flashed last training game and he flashed last year during the season when he got on the field and preseason all that stuff.
- 9:42[SPEAKER_00]: He was absolutely dominant against the Saints, and I know PFF numbers won't like tell you that, but he dominated that football game, and he was the catalyst up front, along with Rukuroro, who is also on this list, but, yeah, BJ Green was incredible.
- 10:03[SPEAKER_00]: And he's had a really, really good camp.
- 10:05[SPEAKER_00]: I just like, I didn't expect that level of dominance by BJ Green against any opponent.
- 10:11[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he was incredible.
- 10:12[SPEAKER_00]: They could not block him.
- 10:13[SPEAKER_00]: They could.
- 10:15[SPEAKER_00]: And, you know, Rook and Danny Sturgocomb bind for a sack.
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: BJ Green is the reason that happened.
- 10:24[SPEAKER_00]: He recovered a fumble, he was playing the run, he was getting pressure, he was awesome.
- 10:29[SPEAKER_00]: And so I just, I want to talk about B.J.
- 10:31[SPEAKER_00]: Green as much as I can.
- 10:32[SPEAKER_00]: He was like, at the beginning of this camp, I didn't even know for sure if he was going to be on the team, not because I didn't think he should be, but like, you talk about, do you keep five edges?
- 10:42[SPEAKER_00]: Do you keep six edges?
- 10:46[SPEAKER_00]: You drafted Wesley Williams.
- 10:49[SPEAKER_00]: felt like Danny Strigo was ahead of him on the pecking order last year.
- 10:53[SPEAKER_00]: You have another draft pick in Zach Derfey.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, you have Josh Hines Allen, Trayvon Walker.
- 10:58[SPEAKER_00]: But now I am settled in the fact that I do think the Jaguar's going to keep six edge players is the final one going to be Zach Derfey is going to be BTJ.
- 11:07[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, but what I do know is BJ Green is one of them.
- 11:10[SPEAKER_00]: He ain't going anywhere.
- 11:12[SPEAKER_00]: They're not letting him have any chance of not being on this team.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: He is going to be on the team.
- 11:18[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to make the 53-man roster, which he did last year, but you know, you add more depth in the draft, like they did this year with two draft picks.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: It's like, okay, are they sure about B.J.
- 11:29[SPEAKER_00]: Green?
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: Well,
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: I think they're pretty sure at this point.
- 11:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I think you can feel pretty sure that Ruka Roro is somebody that can make a difference for you.
- 11:40[SPEAKER_00]: He's not going to be the starter this year.
- 11:42[SPEAKER_00]: You've got your Eric Armstrong's dad, Matt Dickerson as a player.
- 11:46[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguar's just feel they can rely on to execute and do the job.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: but Rook has that ability to really make splash place.
- 11:55[SPEAKER_00]: And I thought he did a good job holding up in this game and he's shown flashes over the last week or so where he's getting pressure and just kind of holding the point and all that stuff.
- 12:05[SPEAKER_00]: But I think he's got the juice.
- 12:08[SPEAKER_00]: Like, and you knew he did.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_00]: Like, as a NFL draft prospect, he had incredible testing.
- 12:16[SPEAKER_00]: You look at some of his reps in Atlanta
- 12:21[SPEAKER_00]: You've seen it here.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you've seen it in a game here.
- 12:24[SPEAKER_00]: Him and BJ Green were so good when they were on the field together.
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: It was awesome to see, sight to behold, loved it.
- 12:33[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that Rookie Albert Regis really kind of had his coming out party against the Saints too.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_00]: And that was a lot of fun to see.
- 12:41[SPEAKER_00]: Just a player who Liam Cohen has kind of talked about, ups and downs, how difficult it is to play defensive tackle as a rookie coming in here.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: but the way he moved on that sack, one on one with a guard hit some with the right hand, crosses over with the left hand, explodes into the backfield, and then I think it was Spencer Rattler, but you know, it's very rare, I think, to see the nimbleness that Regis showed when Rattler was trying to evade,
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: He wouldn't go anywhere.
- 13:18[SPEAKER_00]: He was not getting away.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: And the strength he also had once he got his hand on the jersey to not let go.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_00]: I thought that was all just a really impressive sequence.
- 13:28[SPEAKER_00]: And I think Albert Regis is starting to show you over the last week or so.
- 13:33[SPEAKER_00]: A good bit of why the Jaguar's valued him so highly.
- 13:37[SPEAKER_00]: And he's also got Wesley Williams, who the Jack Wars traded up for in the fourth round this year.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_00]: I thought he just really looked the part against the Saints and it has looked the part of the better part of the last couple weeks, just with his size, stature.
- 13:52[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's really starting to feel more comfortable here as a pro and being in Jacksonville and being on this defense and he's starting to make more and more plays.
- 14:03[SPEAKER_00]: He's a physical guy who can set the edge, play the run strong.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_00]: You can move them around up front on defense and utilize his skill set to, you know, in my opinion, kind of be a guy that can really be effective on games up front and even potentially be a one-on-one winner, seeing a little bit of that on his tape.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: And the final guy, which partially due to not being able to see jail in my cloud as much as you see, of Dula,
- 14:34[SPEAKER_00]: You see her bill was one of the Jaguar's special, special teams players last year.
- 14:41[SPEAKER_00]: The Sam position for the Jaguars is a position that it might not be on the field very much in a given game.
- 14:48[SPEAKER_00]: The starting Sam, which is Dennis Gardeck, much less the backup Sam.
- 14:53[SPEAKER_00]: That player needs to be a high impact special teamer.
- 14:57[SPEAKER_00]: And Yosiro Dula absolutely is that here a mind of you of that this past weekend.
- 15:02[SPEAKER_00]: And then he also flashed just playing a lot of really good defense.
- 15:06[SPEAKER_00]: So these are guys that at some point in camp, I was like, are they definitely gonna be able to make an impact, or are they gonna even make the roster?
- 15:15[SPEAKER_00]: Different levels to these things with these different players that we've kind of talked about.
- 15:18[SPEAKER_00]: But I'm feeling pretty darn good.
- 15:21[SPEAKER_00]: about all of them right now and the only player we've talked about today that I think is in potentially not going to make their roster as Brian Thomas Jr. but again, we're talking about the edge Brian Thomas Jr. from South Carolina.
- 15:36[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know, man.
- 15:37[SPEAKER_00]: I think that his potential as somebody with that, you know, again, shorter and stature, load of the ground, leverage
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: ankle and torso flexibility, strength to play through contact, burst off the edge, and I'd have a tough time cutting that guy.
- 15:59[SPEAKER_00]: I think the Jaguars, the bets they have made on the edge room have been really strong, really strong over the last year.
- 16:06[SPEAKER_00]: Really, going back to last
- 16:12[SPEAKER_00]: and through this draft and obviously you have Josh Hines Allen and Trayvon Walker but you want more depth and I think they've got that in some of these young guys.
- 16:19[SPEAKER_00]: I'm excited to see continue seeing them play football.
- 16:22[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 16:23[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content here, please like and subscribe.
- 16:26[SPEAKER_00]: Y'all have a good one.
