- 0:13Speaker 1: outrage talented. It doesn't come naturally to you. You're like, yeah, no,
- 0:20Speaker 1: I do. I that was so natural. Just came up
- 0:22Speaker 1: with five adjectives in a row. It's very nice of
- 0:26Speaker 1: you actually think you try to do you try five
- 0:28Speaker 1: adjectives in a row? One, two, three, go, beautiful, kind, thrilling, shimmering,
- 0:37Speaker 1: splendid U. Okay, see see keep talking you about fifty
- 0:44Speaker 1: seconds now. I'm joined with Ben obviously he's my glorious, wonderful,
- 0:49Speaker 1: beautiful kind co host. Um. And then I wanted to
- 0:53Speaker 1: get our producer Estan up here earlier in the show
- 0:57Speaker 1: because there are lots of things going on at my
- 0:59Speaker 1: heart that I've out we could start out the podcast
- 1:01Speaker 1: by talking about because it's just like a headlines only podcast,
- 1:04Speaker 1: So like, let's just do a little chat chat. Eastern
- 1:07Speaker 1: is here because one I have no is going by
- 1:11Speaker 1: the way. I just to let anybody out there listening,
- 1:13Speaker 1: I've I was not prepped for this. I'm along to
- 1:16Speaker 1: the ride on this Eastern. If something is said that
- 1:19Speaker 1: is offensive, I'm sorry. Um, I'm just gonna be here
- 1:23Speaker 1: for a bit. Okay, this is where I'm going with it.
- 1:27Speaker 1: A couple of years ago, Easton asked us to do
- 1:31Speaker 1: like a little cameo for his Easty Awards, which he
- 1:34Speaker 1: does on Instagram every year. Eastern explain what the east
- 1:39Speaker 1: Awards are? Uh, e c Awards. Um, I started doing
- 1:43Speaker 1: them years and years ago, but they're in a word
- 1:45Speaker 1: show that I host, and I do recognize my favorite things. Uh,
- 1:50Speaker 1: the categories are here for an every year. It's like,
- 1:52Speaker 1: you know, best um nut of or like my favorite
- 1:57Speaker 1: stovetop burner of the year, things like that, and Uh,
- 2:00Speaker 1: since Instagram Life has been a feature, I've done it
- 2:03Speaker 1: on Instagram Live and you guys have both presented before,
- 2:10Speaker 1: so kind to do it, um, and just it's so great.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Um I this is what I call in favors from
- 2:17Speaker 1: all my podcast friends and to come present award and
- 2:21Speaker 1: it's just really fun thing that I do every year.
- 2:24Speaker 1: So what was the best nut of the Year this year? Well,
- 2:27Speaker 1: almonds took it home this year. Favor almond or just
- 2:31Speaker 1: a regular almond, just almond, anyway you cut it. Almond one. Overall,
- 2:37Speaker 1: I I eat like twenty metric tons of almonds this year.
- 2:40Speaker 1: They're always on my mind, so they had to win
- 2:43Speaker 1: Nut of the Year. Two almonds are my go to
- 2:46Speaker 1: snack as well. They can fill you up fast and
- 2:48Speaker 1: their satisfying taste real good. You know, my favorite new
- 2:51Speaker 1: almond is like new to me that I can't stop eating.
- 2:55Speaker 1: Me was sobby. They're so it, They're so good. Okay,
- 3:02Speaker 1: But I wanted to talk to you about the East
- 3:04Speaker 1: East because this year you really up the antie. You've
- 3:07Speaker 1: gone far and above Ben Higgins and Ashley I Connetti
- 3:10Speaker 1: and you had Paris Hilton do like a very professionally
- 3:15Speaker 1: shot intro for one of your categories or for the
- 3:18Speaker 1: seas in general. You're real close to Paris these days.
- 3:22Speaker 1: Huh uh. Well, I work on I work Comparison podcast
- 3:26Speaker 1: and she I earlier. I've been working with her for
- 3:30Speaker 1: like two years, and this year I was like, I'm
- 3:32Speaker 1: gonna get her to do the sas. That's my goal.
- 3:34Speaker 1: I want to get like, you know, she's really cool
- 3:36Speaker 1: and she's really nice, but like I want to get
- 3:38Speaker 1: to the point where I'm comfortable enough to ask her
- 3:40Speaker 1: to do this and uh, you know later in the year.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I I asked and she was very down to do it.
- 3:45Speaker 1: I thought she was just gonna like hold my phone
- 3:47Speaker 1: and do a selfie video. But they like put up
- 3:49Speaker 1: the like lights, they did a whole camera thing. It
- 3:51Speaker 1: was awesome. Uh, and I'm so grateful to Paris for
- 3:54Speaker 1: doing that, because it did it did increase the production.
- 3:58Speaker 1: I think a bit um not that I don't want
- 4:00Speaker 1: you guys to do it every year. I just don't
- 4:02Speaker 1: want to bother you. You know, I tried not to,
- 4:04Speaker 1: like every year, come hat in hand, go hey, Ashley,
- 4:07Speaker 1: could you do Movie the Year again? Listen, We're here
- 4:10Speaker 1: for you every year you want. I'm actually semi offended.
- 4:14Speaker 1: I haven't been asked back. I wonder what I did.
- 4:18Speaker 1: I think we've only been asked once too about and
- 4:19Speaker 1: so he really tries to like get a variety, you know.
- 4:23Speaker 1: I want to shout you guys out. You guys did
- 4:25Speaker 1: it the same year. And this was before on Instagram
- 4:28Speaker 1: Live you can play videos and show pictures and stuff
- 4:30Speaker 1: now that you could not. I did not know that
- 4:34Speaker 1: it's such a production. Now over Instagram Live. Oh, it's
- 4:37Speaker 1: it's it's really, it's quite the platform. But when you
- 4:40Speaker 1: guys did it, you had to join my live at
- 4:42Speaker 1: a certain time, and so I had. It was on
- 4:44Speaker 1: New Year's Day, and I had to like be texting
- 4:47Speaker 1: you during the show, like okay, five minute warding, like Ben,
- 4:51Speaker 1: Ben and Jess were in bed together doing something unholy,
- 4:56Speaker 1: I'm sure, and Ashley and Jared were in the car
- 4:59Speaker 1: driving from somewhere. But you guys both phoonded uh and
- 5:03Speaker 1: did it. It was incredible. I think Ben, you did
- 5:05Speaker 1: Fruit of the Year and and Ashley and Jerry did
- 5:08Speaker 1: Movie the Year, one of my favorite memories, and it
- 5:10Speaker 1: was the so cool. Dean's done it like twice. Um
- 5:13Speaker 1: Wells has done Dean has done it twice. He asked
- 5:16Speaker 1: Dean back, Well, you guys are gonna actually next year,
- 5:21Speaker 1: we're planning on doing it in person at a venue
- 5:24Speaker 1: and Uh, I will be flying you both out to
- 5:27Speaker 1: do it then if you're up for it. I've actually
- 5:29Speaker 1: attended the East Awards, but people don't know I've I've
- 5:33Speaker 1: been to the East Awards. I've been on it once.
- 5:35Speaker 1: I've attended it once and when it was at my
- 5:37Speaker 1: heart Um Studios, Easton was there and I sat in
- 5:41Speaker 1: and watched the whole thing. It was a nice party,
- 5:44Speaker 1: some great people. It was a big honor. Um there's
- 5:47Speaker 1: not a red carpet, but there was definitely a lot
- 5:51Speaker 1: of excitement around their awards show Easton. I will add
- 5:56Speaker 1: um as we close this out, two things. Uh, you
- 5:59Speaker 1: take this very serious, as you should. It's a great production,
- 6:03Speaker 1: but you like to control this production, put a lot
- 6:05Speaker 1: of effort into it. People think this is just a
- 6:08Speaker 1: really fun thing that you do, but you care about
- 6:11Speaker 1: this I do. It's you know, Um, it's it's something.
- 6:15Speaker 1: Uh that is a big part of my soul, a
- 6:17Speaker 1: big part of my heart. And uh, it's the biggest
- 6:20Speaker 1: project I do all year. And uh, I know my
- 6:21Speaker 1: wife wishes how to put a tenth of the effort
- 6:23Speaker 1: I put in the East Us into anything around the house.
- 6:27Speaker 1: I'm looking at some shelves that need to put up,
- 6:29Speaker 1: you put up right now. And uh, but no, you
- 6:32Speaker 1: know what, I'm working on a list of graphics and
- 6:34Speaker 1: ideas for next year. That's what I'm doing. The final
- 6:36Speaker 1: question I have for you Eastern is if somebody wants
- 6:39Speaker 1: to watch the East Awards, if they're if they're listening
- 6:42Speaker 1: to this and there's like this sounds fun and a
- 6:44Speaker 1: great way to spend my evening. How can they tune in? Well,
- 6:48Speaker 1: if you go to my instagram, it's at Easton Allen.
- 6:51Speaker 1: The full show is up there on a video and
- 6:53Speaker 1: I've been posting the special guest presenters so you can
- 6:56Speaker 1: see Harris, you can see the cast of Boy Meets World.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Oh yeah, these presenters are like this should be on Fox.
- 7:05Speaker 1: This this, thank you, thank you. The cast of Way
- 7:09Speaker 1: Mets World, Um, the Country Being Low Cash presented an
- 7:12Speaker 1: award and Tanya rad from Scrubbing In and from Sea
- 7:16Speaker 1: Christ presented an award as well, and those are all
- 7:18Speaker 1: up on my Instagram. Fantastic. We're so happy for you, Eastern.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Now this is not the only exciting thing happening possibly
- 7:26Speaker 1: with you over at I heeart Um. There are two
- 7:30Speaker 1: podcasts that launched this week that I want to talk
- 7:31Speaker 1: to you about. One Lance Bass Frosted Spiky Tips. So
- 7:35Speaker 1: what is it called Frosted Tips? Okay? Which is an
- 7:39Speaker 1: amazing title for a podcast. Also such an Amy Sugarman
- 7:44Speaker 1: like production, like Way to Go a name? You know,
- 7:46Speaker 1: are you producing this podcast? I am not working on
- 7:49Speaker 1: this one. I am I I tapped out at about
- 7:51Speaker 1: thirty podcasts unfortunately, but there's a great career running it.
- 7:56Speaker 1: A lot of people you guys know, and if you
- 7:58Speaker 1: listen to any of the Hurt podcast will be some
- 8:01Speaker 1: familiar names on there. But it's it's a great show. Yeah,
- 8:04Speaker 1: I listen the first episode. It's fantastic. Well, what about
- 8:07Speaker 1: Chris Harrison's podcast? Are you doing that? I am doing
- 8:09Speaker 1: that one. Okay, it's time to talk about Chris Harrison's podcast.
- 8:13Speaker 1: I think we should do it right after this break. Hi.
- 8:21Speaker 1: I'm Christine Taylor and I'm David Lasher. David and I
- 8:25Speaker 1: start in a little show in the nineties called Hey Dude,
- 8:28Speaker 1: and now we're teaming up once again as the host
- 8:31Speaker 1: of a new I heart podcast Hey Dude the nineties
- 8:34Speaker 1: called do you remember the motor rolla flip phone? Do
- 8:37Speaker 1: you remember going to Blockbuster? Do you remember Nintendo sixty four?
- 8:41Speaker 1: Do you remember getting frosted tips? Was that a serial? No?
- 8:44Speaker 1: It was hair? Do you remember a O L instant
- 8:46Speaker 1: Messenger and the dial up sound like Poltergeist? Do you
- 8:49Speaker 1: remember when we dated? Okay, save that for the podcast.
- 8:53Speaker 1: We're going to use Hey Dude as our jumping off point,
- 8:55Speaker 1: but we are going to unpack and dive back into
- 8:58Speaker 1: the decade of the nineties, lived it, and now we're
- 9:01Speaker 1: calling on all of our friends to come back and
- 9:03Speaker 1: relive it. Each episode will rival the feeling of taking
- 9:07Speaker 1: out the cartridge from your game boy, blowing on it,
- 9:09Speaker 1: and popping it back in as we take you back
- 9:11Speaker 1: to the nineties. So listen to Hey Dude, the Nineties
- 9:15Speaker 1: called on the I Heart Radio app, Apple Podcasts or
- 9:17Speaker 1: wherever you listen to podcasts. So Eastern Chris Harrison makes
- 9:26Speaker 1: his big like debut back into the public with this
- 9:29Speaker 1: other Amy Sugarman mind craft of his podcast, which is
- 9:34Speaker 1: called the most dramatic podcast ever with Chris Harrison. It's
- 9:38Speaker 1: actually gonna be a relationship podcast. But the first episode,
- 9:41Speaker 1: which is our first headline of the week, Chris has
- 9:43Speaker 1: spent this whole first episode talking about um just you know,
- 9:48Speaker 1: the fact that he's pretty much been like in hiding
- 9:50Speaker 1: for two years since the infamous extra interview with Rachel Lindsay.
- 9:54Speaker 1: Now we hear from Chris. You're there for the first moment.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Was it via zoom or was it in person? It
- 10:03Speaker 1: was in person. We went to an undisclosed location in
- 10:06Speaker 1: the Northern California area. Really we we did it out
- 10:11Speaker 1: of town. We went to neutral ground, um and uh
- 10:15Speaker 1: we recorded it in a home. I brought my mobile equipment.
- 10:20Speaker 1: And that was my first time meeting Chris. I have
- 10:22Speaker 1: been in the same room with him a number of times,
- 10:25Speaker 1: I've never actually met him before. Um, so that was
- 10:28Speaker 1: pretty exciting. And um, I mean, I'm not I'm not
- 10:33Speaker 1: I'm not a Bachelor fan. I don't really watch the show.
- 10:35Speaker 1: I just work on his podcast. But let me tell you,
- 10:37Speaker 1: like hearing his voice and like setting the microphone up
- 10:40Speaker 1: on him gave me chills. It was really that was
- 10:43Speaker 1: really exciting. Um. And and like, you know, he's such
- 10:48Speaker 1: a pro like he does like the five four three.
- 10:51Speaker 1: He doesn't say two or one because he's a prou
- 10:54Speaker 1: oh crap. That makes me so not a pro. I
- 10:56Speaker 1: go one to three. Uh. But but um, you know,
- 11:03Speaker 1: I was really interested in what he had to say
- 11:04Speaker 1: because this has just been such a an emotionally significant
- 11:09Speaker 1: part of you know, watching The Bachelor, of what happened
- 11:13Speaker 1: with him. And uh, I was really curious, what you know,
- 11:16Speaker 1: because I haven't heard from him. I haven't heard his
- 11:19Speaker 1: perspective on anything. Um, So I was really interested in
- 11:22Speaker 1: what he had to say. And I thought that he
- 11:23Speaker 1: handled those first two episodes really well. I think he um,
- 11:28Speaker 1: you know, he took responsibility. He explained what happened, and
- 11:32Speaker 1: he explained how he's been dealing with it over the
- 11:35Speaker 1: last few months, uh year, years. I don't know. Time
- 11:39Speaker 1: moves differently now, um. And And I think it's gonna
- 11:43Speaker 1: be a really interesting show. And I'm just really excited
- 11:46Speaker 1: for people to hear him in this way, you know,
- 11:48Speaker 1: like now he has it's not just him like greeting
- 11:51Speaker 1: people as they pull up in a limousine. This is
- 11:54Speaker 1: like an hour plus of him just talking and something
- 11:58Speaker 1: we haven't really gotten from him before. And I I
- 12:00Speaker 1: think people are really gonna like it if if they listen, Actually,
- 12:03Speaker 1: if you listen to the episodes. I haven't listened yet.
- 12:06Speaker 1: Did come out yesterday? I've got to listen to it,
- 12:08Speaker 1: did you I have? I've listened to both. So I
- 12:11Speaker 1: want to talk with Eastern little bit because he obviously
- 12:13Speaker 1: got to hear both of these, you know, Uh, it's
- 12:16Speaker 1: been no secret. Uh. And he actually Ashley is kind
- 12:20Speaker 1: enough Chris Is to call us out in his episode,
- 12:23Speaker 1: his second episode and say thank you to have been
- 12:25Speaker 1: an Ashley um for having my back for supporting me, um,
- 12:29Speaker 1: for caring about me through this. It's very nice. And
- 12:31Speaker 1: he does it with a lot of people, UM, and
- 12:34Speaker 1: kind of runs through a list. But you know, it's
- 12:36Speaker 1: been no secret and I will never hide that. I
- 12:38Speaker 1: I consider Chris Harrison, um, not only somebody that has
- 12:42Speaker 1: walked me through some very weird times I'm gonna say difficult,
- 12:46Speaker 1: just weird, life changing times. Um. And he's walked alongside
- 12:50Speaker 1: me very closely when he doesn't necessarily need to. He
- 12:52Speaker 1: doesn't get paid for it's not a part of his job.
- 12:55Speaker 1: He's a good friend. He's also a golfing buddy. Like
- 12:57Speaker 1: next week, as I mentioned last week, we're gonna be
- 12:59Speaker 1: golfing at the hilt Uh Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions
- 13:02Speaker 1: in Orlando, Florida, together alongside Walls Adams. The three of
- 13:05Speaker 1: us are playing in a group. I'm assuming on Monday
- 13:08Speaker 1: or on Thursday of next week you can tune in
- 13:11Speaker 1: to watch it on the Golf Channel in NBC. Okay, Well, Um,
- 13:16Speaker 1: so he's a he's a friend of mine. He's a
- 13:17Speaker 1: he's a mentor in a lot of ways. He's given
- 13:20Speaker 1: me some life advice that I share often to this day. Um.
- 13:24Speaker 1: He shared life advice with me one day. Um, We're
- 13:27Speaker 1: at a bar and I said, Chris, I don't know
- 13:29Speaker 1: how to do this thing, like, I don't know what's
- 13:31Speaker 1: next for me. This is after I got let go
- 13:34Speaker 1: on Caitlin season and he called me down for a
- 13:37Speaker 1: drink that night and he said, let's just hang out. Uh.
- 13:40Speaker 1: And he said, hey, I think you you could be
- 13:41Speaker 1: the next Bachelor. And I said that's wild, that's weird. Uh.
- 13:45Speaker 1: And he goes, but how are you going to handle it? Like,
- 13:47Speaker 1: I don't know, man, this has all been so much
- 13:49Speaker 1: so quickly. And he goes, here's the advice that I
- 13:52Speaker 1: want you to take with you. He goes, use this.
- 13:54Speaker 1: And you've heard me say before he said, use this
- 13:56Speaker 1: to enhance the life you already had, not change your
- 13:59Speaker 1: life pletely. And I've taken that with me almost every
- 14:03Speaker 1: day of my life and every decision I make in
- 14:05Speaker 1: any opportunity I accept or don't accept. It's who was
- 14:09Speaker 1: I before? And is this enhancing who I was before,
- 14:12Speaker 1: uh and adding some spice to life? Or is it
- 14:14Speaker 1: changing who I was completely and making me run after
- 14:17Speaker 1: things that I've never thought I wanted to run after.
- 14:19Speaker 1: No dreams that I ever wanted to pursue. And does
- 14:21Speaker 1: it hurt relationships that I had before the show, because
- 14:24Speaker 1: I've changed, um, and changed not in a good way.
- 14:28Speaker 1: And so I I love Chris Harrison uh and I
- 14:31Speaker 1: will always stand behind him as a friend because that's
- 14:33Speaker 1: what friends do. I saw Sean Lo say that yesterday,
- 14:36Speaker 1: and I agree, friends stand by friends. Okay, so here's
- 14:39Speaker 1: my point. Here's the question I have for reason. You
- 14:41Speaker 1: know Eastern as a host of The Bachelor, we don't
- 14:43Speaker 1: get to see Chris Harrison. We see a very polished,
- 14:46Speaker 1: a very professional um, you know, necktie sue Um delivering lines,
- 14:52Speaker 1: like you said, greeting people. There's a lot of depth
- 14:55Speaker 1: to Chris UM. And I do think uh, and I
- 14:58Speaker 1: do know UM that the events that happened, what you know,
- 15:01Speaker 1: a year ago, two years ago, whenever that was um,
- 15:04Speaker 1: he is very sorry for for and you can hear
- 15:06Speaker 1: his own words explain that through this podcast in these
- 15:09Speaker 1: two episodes. I know it. It did affect him deeply
- 15:13Speaker 1: and he cares deeply about that. But there's a lot
- 15:15Speaker 1: of wisdom also to Chris uh and just what he's
- 15:18Speaker 1: seen in his life. Can you give us a little
- 15:21Speaker 1: teaser about maybe seeing a less polished version of Chris Harrison.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I mean, he's cussing on this podcast, right, there's bleeps
- 15:28Speaker 1: that we never saw during The Bachelor. I love it
- 15:30Speaker 1: when Chris. I love it when it Chris curses because
- 15:32Speaker 1: it seems out of character just based on what you
- 15:35Speaker 1: see on the show. But it's not out of character. Yeah,
- 15:38Speaker 1: so tease us on what you think we're gonna expect.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I mean, obviously you've only um seen these first two
- 15:42Speaker 1: episodes that are going to be very different than the
- 15:44Speaker 1: show itself. The shows about relationships. The show is about
- 15:47Speaker 1: digging in and helping people walk through relationships. The first
- 15:50Speaker 1: two episodes are really kind of his story over the
- 15:52Speaker 1: last few years alongside his fiance Lawrence. What What What
- 15:56Speaker 1: can we get excited about moving forward? I think that,
- 16:01Speaker 1: like you said, when you see Chris Harrison on television,
- 16:04Speaker 1: he's the host, he is This is a polished you
- 16:07Speaker 1: know everything, most of everything he's saying is rehearsed. Uh,
- 16:11Speaker 1: it is a very like segmented thing he's doing. This
- 16:15Speaker 1: is a very vulnerable side of Chris Harrison, and you
- 16:18Speaker 1: can hear that. You can hear that in his voice
- 16:20Speaker 1: when he relives some of those moments in the last year.
- 16:23Speaker 1: UM and I think as we move forward, and you know,
- 16:26Speaker 1: he has to talk about this event first, but as
- 16:30Speaker 1: we move forward and we hear his take on relationships,
- 16:35Speaker 1: what it means, uh, what it means to love and
- 16:37Speaker 1: to find a partner, I think people are going to
- 16:40Speaker 1: really enjoy and learn a lot from from what he
- 16:45Speaker 1: has to share. And again, the vulnerability that he's going
- 16:49Speaker 1: to put out there. He's doing this in his house,
- 16:52Speaker 1: just like by himself or with Lauren, you know. Um
- 16:56Speaker 1: and uh, I think bearing of the soul is what
- 17:02Speaker 1: I what I felt in those moments in that first
- 17:04Speaker 1: couple episodes, and uh, I think that's what people are
- 17:07Speaker 1: gonna really take away from this show. Is Lauren going
- 17:11Speaker 1: to be his permanent co host? I'm not sure. I
- 17:16Speaker 1: don't think so. Um, definitive. No, I'm good. I'm hearing
- 17:20Speaker 1: in my headset I getting to know. Um, you know,
- 17:23Speaker 1: she she won't be, but but she's in the second
- 17:25Speaker 1: episode and and she's great. Let me tell you, it's
- 17:28Speaker 1: it's great doing a podcast with two trained broadcasters that
- 17:31Speaker 1: that was a delightful experience for me. Did you have
- 17:35Speaker 1: to edit? Not that much? I don't have to add
- 17:38Speaker 1: that much. And also we sent Crystal this equipment, and
- 17:41Speaker 1: I was like, I set aside like an afternoon to
- 17:43Speaker 1: like video chat with him and get set up. And
- 17:44Speaker 1: I get him on the phone. He's like, hey, so
- 17:46Speaker 1: plugged in, you ready to go? And I'm like, yes,
- 17:49Speaker 1: this man, he gets it. I like these people. You know. UM,
- 17:53Speaker 1: a few thoughts why we still have Easton here on
- 17:55Speaker 1: the first two episodes, because this is obviously a big
- 17:58Speaker 1: topic within Bachelor Nation. UM is the most dramatic podcast
- 18:02Speaker 1: of all time. It has now peaked in the top
- 18:05Speaker 1: ten of all podcasts after two episodes. That's a big deal.
- 18:10Speaker 1: It's not easy to do UM. Obviously, people were excited
- 18:13Speaker 1: to hear from Chris again, or or as Chris said it,
- 18:16Speaker 1: I think curious to hear from him again. Maybe they
- 18:19Speaker 1: maybe they don't exactly you know, they're they're not, you know,
- 18:22Speaker 1: moving on, and and they still hold some resentment towards Chris,
- 18:26Speaker 1: but they're curious to hear what he has to say.
- 18:27Speaker 1: And I think a lot of people also are excited
- 18:30Speaker 1: about hearing Chris's voice again and hearing his heart. UM.
- 18:35Speaker 1: You know, there is there's a lot of motion in
- 18:37Speaker 1: this podcast. Uh, there are a lot of crackly voices,
- 18:41Speaker 1: there are some tears. I was reading through the comments.
- 18:43Speaker 1: A lot of support, I mean a ton of support, uh,
- 18:47Speaker 1: support for the show and excited to hear where the
- 18:49Speaker 1: show goes. But there was these questions of you know,
- 18:53Speaker 1: is it fake like they are professionals? Are these tears
- 18:57Speaker 1: just for the audience? Are they made up for the
- 19:00Speaker 1: time Eastern? Can you speak to that a little bit.
- 19:03Speaker 1: Did you feel like the emotion that was being displayed
- 19:05Speaker 1: and communicated in the podcast was real emotion? Absolutely? Uh,
- 19:12Speaker 1: to the point where, like, you know, we did have
- 19:13Speaker 1: to take a breather, you know, um in this episode
- 19:16Speaker 1: because it was getting so intense, very very real. And um.
- 19:21Speaker 1: You know, Chris like doesn't like, you know, he's not
- 19:27Speaker 1: like trying to like I don't think he wants to
- 19:29Speaker 1: become like the host again or anything, you know, Like
- 19:31Speaker 1: he just wants to tell his story. He doesn't have
- 19:33Speaker 1: to do this. Um. So like, yeah, I don't know,
- 19:38Speaker 1: I've seen rehearse tears. Those are real, my friends, Those
- 19:42Speaker 1: are those are real. Um. That was real emotion in
- 19:46Speaker 1: in those episodes. Uh and um, and I think we're
- 19:50Speaker 1: going to get more of that as we continue on
- 19:52Speaker 1: with this show. Yeah, I didn't feel like in the
- 19:54Speaker 1: episode he was trying to persuade me as the listener
- 19:56Speaker 1: in any direction more than just tell his side of
- 19:59Speaker 1: the story. Worry, Uh not anything, you know, I don't think.
- 20:03Speaker 1: I think it's really a fine line there to play
- 20:05Speaker 1: the victim and not play the victim, um to be
- 20:07Speaker 1: the victor or the victim in this I didn't feel
- 20:10Speaker 1: like he played the victim. And obviously I'm biased here.
- 20:13Speaker 1: I want to make it clear again, I'm very biased
- 20:15Speaker 1: because I get to see Chris and hang out with him.
- 20:18Speaker 1: I felt like he wanted to share his side of
- 20:20Speaker 1: the story that hey, he was sorry, but also people
- 20:23Speaker 1: were speaking for him, Media was speaking for him. Stories
- 20:26Speaker 1: are being created around him that he had no part in.
- 20:29Speaker 1: And it kind of blew this thing up to a
- 20:31Speaker 1: very uncontrollable situation that nobody could kind of navigate and manage.
- 20:37Speaker 1: And and now we get to hear Chris um for hopefully,
- 20:40Speaker 1: you know, for hopefully most Chris, they remember that Chris
- 20:43Speaker 1: they grew up listening to and watching on television. I
- 20:46Speaker 1: also want to close and saying a little kudos to
- 20:49Speaker 1: Amy Sugarman. Uh. He did give a shout out to
- 20:52Speaker 1: Amy and said, hey, my friend and I who was
- 20:54Speaker 1: in this room with me right now, talked and and
- 20:57Speaker 1: and she told me it was time. It was time
- 21:00Speaker 1: for me to start speaking, start to tell my story.
- 21:03Speaker 1: And Chris trusted her in that. That's you know, Chris
- 21:06Speaker 1: is one of the most famous, recognizable people in the
- 21:10Speaker 1: United States of America. UH. And this has obviously been
- 21:14Speaker 1: a long time of him staying quiet, of him staying silent,
- 21:18Speaker 1: of him kind of getting life back in order and
- 21:20Speaker 1: has he said, life has been really good for him.
- 21:23Speaker 1: But then he trusted our producer and our creator of
- 21:26Speaker 1: this podcast, Amy as we talk about UH two, for
- 21:30Speaker 1: this next chapter in his life. And I think that's
- 21:32Speaker 1: a big compliment to Amy and who she is and
- 21:34Speaker 1: how much trust people have in her UH and and
- 21:37Speaker 1: also what she can create. And so I want to
- 21:39Speaker 1: give that little shit out to her because she's obviously
- 21:41Speaker 1: behind this UM and building her own little podcast dynasty
- 21:45Speaker 1: UM alongside almost famous, so great, UH, very intriguing first
- 21:50Speaker 1: two episodes. I did listen UH and UM and there's
- 21:53Speaker 1: a lot of stuff in there I learned even after
- 21:56Speaker 1: hearing the story, you know, from Chris myself well, actually,
- 22:00Speaker 1: I want to flip headlines this week because you know,
- 22:03Speaker 1: Eastern you were there for the headline creating, and Ben
- 22:09Speaker 1: you have listened to the podcast, so I want you
- 22:12Speaker 1: guys to discuss these so it's not just me quoting.
- 22:15Speaker 1: The first headline is Chris Harrison wanted Wells Adams to
- 22:19Speaker 1: replace him as Bachelor host. There's a lot about Nick
- 22:23Speaker 1: in here too. That made headlines is the fact that
- 22:25Speaker 1: he thought that Nick Vile was the one that was
- 22:28Speaker 1: trying to get the spot the most out of anyone.
- 22:32Speaker 1: But please explain how this conversation went on the podcast,
- 22:36Speaker 1: and you probably know firsthand from Wells as well. Yeah,
- 22:39Speaker 1: Wells as well. Well. I mean, I think for most
- 22:42Speaker 1: Bachelor fans, uh, they expected somebody, may you know, especially
- 22:48Speaker 1: after the Caitlin and Tatious seasons that people were I
- 22:51Speaker 1: felt like, still um enjoying. They're starting to get used
- 22:55Speaker 1: to maybe not the host but the mentor roles that
- 22:59Speaker 1: Caitlin and take show where we're um doing during the
- 23:02Speaker 1: Bachelor at seasons. Uh, And then when the hosting job
- 23:06Speaker 1: came up, I think a lot of people thought, well,
- 23:08Speaker 1: Wells is a very clear choice. He's a professional host.
- 23:11Speaker 1: What people don't maybe know about Wells's past life. Is
- 23:14Speaker 1: he as a career was a host in Nashville on radio. Uh,
- 23:18Speaker 1: he has done TV. Uh he is doing TV today
- 23:22Speaker 1: and and doing it very successfully. May I say, but
- 23:26Speaker 1: I think Bachelor Nation loves Wells. They do. Um, he
- 23:31Speaker 1: is funny. He is also uh a lot more. Um.
- 23:37Speaker 1: I don't want to say, he's just not as like, uh,
- 23:40Speaker 1: you know, polished. We keep saying polished seems like the
- 23:44Speaker 1: right word. As as maybe a past host, he would
- 23:46Speaker 1: bring a different flare. Um. He has crude jokes. Uh,
- 23:50Speaker 1: He's very witty. He has jokes that don't land, and
- 23:52Speaker 1: he has jokes that land really well. Uh and we
- 23:55Speaker 1: would see that kind of goofy, quirky side uh during
- 23:59Speaker 1: the show. And so I think people are like, hey,
- 24:00Speaker 1: this makes sense. I would want to watch Wells on television.
- 24:03Speaker 1: It's a good replacement. And I think Jesse has done
- 24:06Speaker 1: a great job replacing Chris. I do I have nothing
- 24:09Speaker 1: uh negative to say about Jesse. It was just kind
- 24:11Speaker 1: of out of nowhere for a lot of people. It
- 24:14Speaker 1: was unexpected. It was not who they thought, and so
- 24:17Speaker 1: Chris did say, hey, uh there are people He kind
- 24:20Speaker 1: of went through the timeline and people can listen to
- 24:23Speaker 1: the episode to get the full recap. He went through
- 24:25Speaker 1: the timeline that you know, even on season three, after
- 24:28Speaker 1: season three at the Bachelor, that he was sitting in
- 24:30Speaker 1: a party with pass bachelorrette she said I should host
- 24:33Speaker 1: the Bachelorette to one of the executive producers of the
- 24:36Speaker 1: show in front of Chris, and Chris is like, you know,
- 24:38Speaker 1: that's my job, and so he kind of goes through
- 24:41Speaker 1: this whole thing of you know, one of the weird
- 24:43Speaker 1: parts about The Bachelor and hosting The Bachelor is you know,
- 24:45Speaker 1: you're creating a bunch of people every year that want
- 24:47Speaker 1: your job, that that would think they can have your job,
- 24:51Speaker 1: that people are gonna tell them they should have your job.
- 24:54Speaker 1: And so when he finds, you know, when he was
- 24:57Speaker 1: removed from the show or whatever happened, Uh he resigned
- 25:00Speaker 1: from I don't I don't know the details there. Uh,
- 25:03Speaker 1: the job was open, and he felt like, you know,
- 25:07Speaker 1: some of the cast members kind of all all blood
- 25:10Speaker 1: in the water. They were saying, Okay, Chris is removed. Hey,
- 25:13Speaker 1: I might feel terrible about that. I might not like it,
- 25:15Speaker 1: maybe I do like it, whatever side I'm on. But
- 25:18Speaker 1: now there's a job opening, I'm going after it. And
- 25:21Speaker 1: he said that, you know, when he talked to Wells, Uh,
- 25:23Speaker 1: he knew Wells his name was in consideration, and he
- 25:26Speaker 1: thought Wells would have been a great host. So that
- 25:28Speaker 1: was his story was that he thought that made a
- 25:31Speaker 1: lot of sense. In fact, he believes well should have
- 25:33Speaker 1: been the host um that replaced him with others. He
- 25:38Speaker 1: kind of mentioned that there was blood in the water
- 25:40Speaker 1: and people were, um, we're going after his job, like
- 25:43Speaker 1: kind of immediately that's when he mentioned Nick. That's where
- 25:45Speaker 1: the headline says that Nick was going after his job
- 25:48Speaker 1: because he knew that Nick was going after his job.
- 25:50Speaker 1: Like as soon as that was open, the door was open,
- 25:54Speaker 1: some people ran through it. Uh. And he does he
- 25:57Speaker 1: does call that out during the show, And does he
- 25:59Speaker 1: say like how he was going after the job. I
- 26:02Speaker 1: don't know, he doesn't. I mean, I'm assuming Chris knew that.
- 26:06Speaker 1: You know, Nick had called the people in power and said, hey,
- 26:09Speaker 1: I want this job, I could, I should have this job.
- 26:12Speaker 1: I'm assuming that's all Chris knows. I don't know if
- 26:15Speaker 1: anybody would know the behind the scenes conversations that existed,
- 26:18Speaker 1: but I think the point of that conversation for Chris
- 26:21Speaker 1: was just saying, hey, it was a weird time. Were
- 26:24Speaker 1: people that I also, you know, consider friends and people
- 26:27Speaker 1: that came through the show, maybe that I don't know, Well, um,
- 26:32Speaker 1: we're kind of not I don't, I don't. I don't
- 26:35Speaker 1: want it this to sound bad because, as he Chris says,
- 26:38Speaker 1: it's Hollywood, like, this is what you do. There's a
- 26:40Speaker 1: job when you go after it. I don't know if
- 26:42Speaker 1: it's a negative, it's just taking advantage of the opportunity.
- 26:45Speaker 1: While at the same time Chris was like, yeah, I
- 26:47Speaker 1: was also losing the job that I cared so much about,
- 26:50Speaker 1: and it was a really weird balance of how do
- 26:53Speaker 1: I feel, like what emotions do I like, can I
- 26:56Speaker 1: should I be experiencing during this anger? Frustration, excitement for them? Um,
- 27:01Speaker 1: confusion excitement for them does not come naturally maybe, And
- 27:06Speaker 1: that's and that's kind of the point of that was like,
- 27:08Speaker 1: it was a very con exactly so Chris's point, I
- 27:11Speaker 1: think was it was a very confusing time mentally to
- 27:16Speaker 1: understand how things were playing out. But then he says, yeah,
- 27:19Speaker 1: but through all this, I thought, you know, and and
- 27:21Speaker 1: Wells and him are buddies and Wells called him and
- 27:23Speaker 1: kind of had laid out, Hey, you know, how do
- 27:25Speaker 1: you want me to navigate this? And Chris had told
- 27:28Speaker 1: you know, some of us like stay quiet, Uh, you know,
- 27:32Speaker 1: don't protect me um in this. Uh, this is my thing,
- 27:36Speaker 1: this is not yours. Uh and uh and so Wells
- 27:39Speaker 1: and then he, you know, told Wells like, hey, if
- 27:42Speaker 1: you could the job offer, I'm not mad at you
- 27:43Speaker 1: for that. I don't hold any resentment towards that. Okay, Um,
- 27:48Speaker 1: did he You just mentioned that. He like doesn't go
- 27:53Speaker 1: into detail whether he was fired or stepped down. Is
- 27:56Speaker 1: that correct? I can't remember if if he did, it
- 27:59Speaker 1: was a very small piece of the show, but I
- 28:01Speaker 1: don't think he did. I imagine it even in that
- 28:05Speaker 1: there's a lot of nuance and complexity of how that
- 28:07Speaker 1: process worked. I don't remember him mentioning kind of the ending. Okay.
- 28:14Speaker 1: He does talk about writings having gone down, and I'll
- 28:18Speaker 1: I will quote this. Yeah. Okay. So the next headline
- 28:22Speaker 1: is Chris Harrison was scared after controversial Bachelor exit. He
- 28:27Speaker 1: received death threats, lost twenty pounds, and couldn't sleep. He
- 28:32Speaker 1: said that things spun out of control for a number
- 28:35Speaker 1: of reasons. He was six six. It was tim a
- 28:36Speaker 1: stomach lost twenty pounds, didn't sleep, didn't eat, scared of death.
- 28:40Speaker 1: It was one gut punch after another mentally and physically.
- 28:44Speaker 1: He just felt like he was deteriorating. He said, it
- 28:47Speaker 1: wasn't easy having people to tell me die kill yourself
- 28:52Speaker 1: before that horrible. Yeah, you know this this is uh
- 28:56Speaker 1: and Lauren Zema comes on and speaks to it. It's
- 28:59Speaker 1: it's part of the internet. It even before we started
- 29:02Speaker 1: recording today, some of us on this podcast, you're talking
- 29:04Speaker 1: about you know what the internet is like. You know,
- 29:07Speaker 1: you go on Reddit, you go on Instagram. Uh. People
- 29:11Speaker 1: like to be negative. It's a very odd thing. People
- 29:14Speaker 1: like to be mean to others. I Uh, I am
- 29:18Speaker 1: very confused by it. Probably always will be. I don't
- 29:21Speaker 1: understand why that is a motivation or why that gets
- 29:25Speaker 1: people off and gives them their jollies for the day.
- 29:27Speaker 1: Is when they make somebody else feel worse about themselves.
- 29:30Speaker 1: All this is true that they mentioned. You know, again,
- 29:33Speaker 1: there is a behind the scenes of this. This is
- 29:35Speaker 1: not this is a podcast, but there has been a
- 29:38Speaker 1: good amount of time between between the events that happened
- 29:42Speaker 1: and now there. You know, people were threatening the life
- 29:46Speaker 1: of them, uh, saying they should die. Um. There was
- 29:49Speaker 1: a lot of physical and emotional pain that Lauren and
- 29:53Speaker 1: Chris went through. Uh. And all that is true. Uh.
- 29:57Speaker 1: It is not just a story they're telling. It is
- 29:59Speaker 1: very true. And I also thought it was um, you know,
- 30:04Speaker 1: for anybody out there listening who was also experienced bowling
- 30:07Speaker 1: and these things online, I think it's um most of
- 30:10Speaker 1: us uh that exists on social media at any level
- 30:14Speaker 1: can or in high school or middle school, can relate
- 30:17Speaker 1: with this. And then you have a grown man uh
- 30:19Speaker 1: sitting next to his fiance, you know, talking about these
- 30:22Speaker 1: same things and there's a lot of motion around it.
- 30:25Speaker 1: I think it's it's very relatable, and it's it's very difficult.
- 30:29Speaker 1: And if there's one thing that comes from it, My
- 30:31Speaker 1: question to anybody that was very negative is why to
- 30:34Speaker 1: anybody like, why would you ask anybody else to you know,
- 30:37Speaker 1: kill themselves or to harm themselves. It doesn't make sense. Um.
- 30:41Speaker 1: So if you're one of those people doing it one, Uh,
- 30:44Speaker 1: I don't know if you should be listening to this
- 30:45Speaker 1: podcast too. I was gonna say, I can't imagine those
- 30:48Speaker 1: people listening to this pod now. I don't think they are,
- 30:50Speaker 1: but it's just confusing, and it's it's frustrating, um that
- 30:55Speaker 1: we treat each other like that. Okay, continue on, because
- 30:57Speaker 1: he does talk about ratings, and the ratings are okay,
- 31:00Speaker 1: So he says he doesn't watch a show anymore, but
- 31:02Speaker 1: he does keep an eye on the writings because Human
- 31:05Speaker 1: Interest right when I left, it was still the number
- 31:09Speaker 1: one show on TV, which I mean it was the
- 31:11Speaker 1: number one show on Mondays in that time slot, always
- 31:14Speaker 1: amongst that demographic. I would say it's probably always Monday's
- 31:18Speaker 1: number one show on regular TV. Right, Um, I think
- 31:22Speaker 1: it was still number one on TV. It was, it
- 31:25Speaker 1: was not the number one show on TV, I think
- 31:29Speaker 1: on on UM on the main networks, I do believe
- 31:33Speaker 1: it still was because you also have to remember this
- 31:35Speaker 1: is COVID and nobody was coming out with new content
- 31:37Speaker 1: so that season and got a lot of viewership. Okay,
- 31:40Speaker 1: well we'll have to like check that, but let's go
- 31:43Speaker 1: with it. It was a very popular show. The writings
- 31:45Speaker 1: were good, even though yes, they were slipping over time.
- 31:48Speaker 1: He said, Now, look, do I keep an eye on
- 31:50Speaker 1: the ratings currently? Um, do I know what's happening? Now?
- 31:55Speaker 1: I'm not gonna say I'm not so humble or whatever
- 31:58Speaker 1: to have not paid attention to the scoreboard. Yes, I
- 32:01Speaker 1: do know. I realized the ratings are down fifty to
- 32:06Speaker 1: six and the show has changed dramatically. That hurts me
- 32:10Speaker 1: a little bit because it's something I took pride in building.
- 32:13Speaker 1: It's very interesting and wonderful soul of him. If he
- 32:18Speaker 1: does say if he, if he truly means that he
- 32:21Speaker 1: is um hurt by the declining ratings after he left,
- 32:26Speaker 1: because I do think that if I were in his position,
- 32:31Speaker 1: I probably wouldn't be as good of a person to
- 32:32Speaker 1: be hurt by it. I'd probably be like, ha ha,
- 32:35Speaker 1: serves you right, you know this is what the show
- 32:38Speaker 1: is without me. I think you would take a little
- 32:40Speaker 1: pride in knowing that the show isn't the same and
- 32:43Speaker 1: people have shown disinterest in it since him leaving. But
- 32:47Speaker 1: you know, if he's hurt, Wow, better person than I well.
- 32:51Speaker 1: And I think a lot of that comes from, you know,
- 32:53Speaker 1: our the conversations I've been able to have with him.
- 32:56Speaker 1: There's for twenty years. There are people that worked on
- 32:59Speaker 1: that show for twenty A lot of those people became
- 33:01Speaker 1: really good friends of his. Uh A lot like family,
- 33:05Speaker 1: you got to see that during your time on the
- 33:07Speaker 1: shows UH from audio visual, the producers. When you work
- 33:12Speaker 1: so closely with people, you travel with people, you're going
- 33:14Speaker 1: out to eat with people, and you're doing it so
- 33:18Speaker 1: many months of the year, you become very close with them,
- 33:22Speaker 1: and so I think he is hurt. Maybe, I mean,
- 33:25Speaker 1: I don't want to speak for Chris. I know he
- 33:27Speaker 1: says for the show. I think if I would, you know,
- 33:30Speaker 1: if I was to make the assumption, I have no clue.
- 33:32Speaker 1: I think he's very hurt for the people working on
- 33:34Speaker 1: the show, that he that he knows that the show
- 33:37Speaker 1: is not doing what it once did, and that those
- 33:39Speaker 1: people are family to him, and that you know, the
- 33:42Speaker 1: brand of the Bachelor, he does still feel a lot
- 33:44Speaker 1: of ownership in because he helped build that. You know,
- 33:47Speaker 1: if you most of us, I would also say, I
- 33:50Speaker 1: would add in here, I'm I'm adding in my assumptions.
- 33:53Speaker 1: When I heard Chris speak to this, when I was
- 33:55Speaker 1: surprised he even said it. But I do think it
- 33:58Speaker 1: showed a level of honest the UH during this show,
- 34:01Speaker 1: and kind of that he was willing to say things
- 34:03Speaker 1: that maybe people weren't expecting him to say. That he
- 34:05Speaker 1: still watches the ratings. Chris is one of the most
- 34:08Speaker 1: competitive men I've ever met in my life. Uh. He
- 34:12Speaker 1: is competitive at every level. He does not like to lose. Um,
- 34:16Speaker 1: he wants to win. Uh. And there's no better example
- 34:20Speaker 1: that than when we play golf. He becomes a human
- 34:24Speaker 1: that is almost impossible to be. I would like to
- 34:28Speaker 1: say it's just because he has that presence about him,
- 34:31Speaker 1: but he's also very skilled. I imagine looking at the
- 34:35Speaker 1: ratings is a competitive side of him too, to say, Okay, like,
- 34:40Speaker 1: you know, I'm getting some value maybe I want in
- 34:42Speaker 1: a in a way like I have some value to
- 34:44Speaker 1: this show that maybe they didn't recognize, or maybe they
- 34:47Speaker 1: did recognize, but they didn't realize how much value I had.
- 34:50Speaker 1: Like there's some competitiveness there. So obviously he was going
- 34:53Speaker 1: to watch ratings. Um. You know, he had so much
- 34:57Speaker 1: invested into the success of that show. So I'm gonna
- 35:01Speaker 1: if as a friend, I will go as far as
- 35:03Speaker 1: to say, I would imagine that's the competitive side of him. Um.
- 35:08Speaker 1: He wasn't one to say that, but I am. Okay,
- 35:12Speaker 1: all right. Well, moving on from Chris Harrison, which if
- 35:15Speaker 1: you want more of this interview and it is over,
- 35:17Speaker 1: it's about two hours long of him just talking. These
- 35:19Speaker 1: first two episodes, it is I Heart Radio is the

- 37:26Speaker 1: Back Now on the I Heart Radio app, Apple podcast
- 37:29Speaker 1: or wherever you listen to podcasts. I'll take back over
- 37:34Speaker 1: headlines here. I did watch the first episode of this
- 37:38Speaker 1: you did? Y're so caught up. You're doing such a
- 37:42Speaker 1: good job doing your job. I feel like I'm failing now.
- 37:45Speaker 1: I haven't listened to the Too Crisp podcast. I haven't listened.
- 37:47Speaker 1: I haven't watched this, but it was on my to
- 37:49Speaker 1: do list to watch Hannah Brown on what's the name
- 37:53Speaker 1: of the show, Stronger than I Think I am? Special Forces?
- 37:57Speaker 1: No Special Forces. All the stuff is to us Colin
- 38:01Speaker 1: stronger than I Think I am. Okay, So here's my
- 38:03Speaker 1: take on the first episode. I really enjoyed it. And
- 38:06Speaker 1: I don't enjoy reality television too much. I don't watch it.
- 38:09Speaker 1: It is not something that's usually on my television. I
- 38:12Speaker 1: tuned into this, uh and I was like in it.
- 38:17Speaker 1: I will say Hannah Brown does not play a massive
- 38:20Speaker 1: role in the first episode. Um, she is as a
- 38:23Speaker 1: minor character. Uh. There, Dwight Howard kind of takes over because, um,
- 38:30Speaker 1: it's his storyline. There's a few other storylines that are shared.
- 38:32Speaker 1: Imagine also, Hannah will can may have a bigger storyline
- 38:36Speaker 1: because she's stuck around. Uh, there's a lot of people
- 38:39Speaker 1: that left. Oh, you get eliminated or you eliminate yourself.
- 38:42Speaker 1: You kind of eliminate yourself because it's so freaking hard.
- 38:46Speaker 1: I mean, it looks brutal ash like, um, just I'm
- 38:50Speaker 1: not gonna give away anything. I think people would enjoy
- 38:53Speaker 1: watching it. Uh. It is different television. Um there's some
- 38:58Speaker 1: you know, corny, goofy parts uh to it. But for
- 39:01Speaker 1: the most part, man, I was in it. So here's
- 39:04Speaker 1: the headline, how Hannah Brown's returned to reality TV proved
- 39:08Speaker 1: she's stronger than I think I am. Yeah, okay, So
- 39:12Speaker 1: she says, it's a competition within yourself. I've gone through
- 39:15Speaker 1: such a crazy time in my life and I was
- 39:17Speaker 1: really trying to heal and grow, and I felt like
- 39:19Speaker 1: this show will be a really good way to challenge
- 39:22Speaker 1: myself in all the work that I had done. She
- 39:27Speaker 1: said that the living conditions were the hardest part um
- 39:33Speaker 1: and that she was They were all given a box
- 39:36Speaker 1: that had three pairs of underwear to bras, and they
- 39:39Speaker 1: had two sets of clothes for the entire time, a bar, soap,
- 39:44Speaker 1: a toothbrush. So to everybody who complains about the living
- 39:48Speaker 1: conditions in Paradise, they're gonna have to go on this show. Next.
- 39:52Speaker 1: She said that they were on the teeniest cots, all
- 39:55Speaker 1: in a tent outside the Jordanian desert, going to the
- 39:59Speaker 1: bathroom and gets with a piece of poly wood in
- 40:02Speaker 1: between us that kept our heads out the entire time.
- 40:07Speaker 1: So you think the privacy situation in Paradise in the
- 40:11Speaker 1: bathrooms with just like a little like shower curtain is bad,
- 40:15Speaker 1: this sounds way worse. She goes, It's not a beauty
- 40:18Speaker 1: pageant at all. I'm honestly terrified to see what I
- 40:21Speaker 1: look like the entire time. It truly feels like you're
- 40:24Speaker 1: fighting for your life at all times. I was just
- 40:26Speaker 1: in discomfort the entire time. And she also said that
- 40:31Speaker 1: the show has taught her how much stronger she is
- 40:34Speaker 1: and she thought she was, and that she's come a
- 40:35Speaker 1: long way. Even when it feels like you can't take anymore,
- 40:38Speaker 1: she said, there's always this extra gear that we all have.
- 40:43Speaker 1: I would I would say Hannah Brown is probably extremely competitive.
- 40:47Speaker 1: I don't think that girl likes to lose. I mean,
- 40:49Speaker 1: if you look at her beauty pageants, beauty pageants, if
- 40:52Speaker 1: you look at Dancing with the Stars, if you look
- 40:54Speaker 1: at her time on the Bachelorette, I would not be
- 40:56Speaker 1: shocked if Hannah Brown wins this show because I have
- 41:00Speaker 1: a feeling there is a there is something inside of
- 41:03Speaker 1: that person um that refuses to lose at anything um,
- 41:09Speaker 1: which is something I admire that I think UM is
- 41:14Speaker 1: like that instinct um that you're either born with or
- 41:17Speaker 1: you aren't. You aren't. And she's tough through this. She's
- 41:21Speaker 1: such a tough cookie though. You can just tell. Is
- 41:24Speaker 1: this the kind of show that you as just being you?
- 41:27Speaker 1: You know, like you can like rough it? I know
- 41:29Speaker 1: you can. Is this kind of show that you would
- 41:31Speaker 1: like I want to do it? I do it for free?
- 41:34Speaker 1: Or is this a kind of show like for me,
- 41:35Speaker 1: it's like how much are you paying? Mate? There's there's
- 41:39Speaker 1: parts of it that I feel like I would really enjoy,
- 41:41Speaker 1: you know, the cot sleeping uh the cold back I
- 41:45Speaker 1: don't mind. In fact, you know, I do think that
- 41:48Speaker 1: brings some uh some grit out in you, and you
- 41:51Speaker 1: become a different human when you really break things down
- 41:55Speaker 1: and you take away the luxuries and you get simple again.
- 41:58Speaker 1: The bathroom situation in uh is is tough. I mean
- 42:02Speaker 1: there's scenes of these people like puking because it's so gross. Um,
- 42:06Speaker 1: I could do it, and I don't have a lot
- 42:08Speaker 1: of shame and like in those situations, and so I
- 42:11Speaker 1: just I just kind of go with it. And if
- 42:14Speaker 1: we're all in it together. Um, we're doing it together.
- 42:16Speaker 1: Here's the parts that I have a hard time with.
- 42:18Speaker 1: The challenges. Uh. I you know, as I've gotten older, ash,
- 42:22Speaker 1: I've gotten mentally weak when it comes to like heights
- 42:26Speaker 1: uh and um, you know, laying you know, going underneath
- 42:31Speaker 1: the water and feeling claustrophobic. Like those things, for whatever reason,
- 42:34Speaker 1: have become big parts of my life where I feel claustrophobic,
- 42:37Speaker 1: I'm scared of heights, like I don't know what's going on.
- 42:40Speaker 1: I would have a hard time with that. I think
- 42:42Speaker 1: those parts would be where I would be like, yeah,
- 42:43Speaker 1: you should pay me to come on this show, if
- 42:45Speaker 1: you want me on this show. Everything else, the living situation, um,
- 42:49Speaker 1: lack of showering, Um, kind of sounds fun to me.
- 42:53Speaker 1: I thought it might. The challenges are hard. I mean,
- 42:56Speaker 1: the challenges are I was watching these challenges and watching
- 43:00Speaker 1: previews for the next episode, and those challenges I'm like,
- 43:02Speaker 1: my goodness, Like they are putting these people through it,
- 43:06Speaker 1: like there there is no they're they're not holding back
- 43:10Speaker 1: like these are And this is not fear factor, Like
- 43:13Speaker 1: I feel like this takes a step up on fear factor.
- 43:16Speaker 1: Oh yeah, you gotta watch it. You're not taking a
- 43:19Speaker 1: bath in Tranchlas good point. Um, no you're not. You're
- 43:25Speaker 1: just not taking that. You're just not taking a bath
- 43:27Speaker 1: at all. So you know it is what it is,
- 43:30Speaker 1: but you should watch it. I think people would enjoy
- 43:32Speaker 1: watching I think are almost famous listeners would um be
- 43:35Speaker 1: intrigued by the show. It does bring people out in
- 43:37Speaker 1: a different light. Uh and uh, and there's a lot
- 43:41Speaker 1: of emotion, you know. I think one of the parts
- 43:43Speaker 1: I enjoyed most about this show and what I enjoy
- 43:45Speaker 1: when the Bachelor and Bachelor are good is you can
- 43:48Speaker 1: see it in the eyes of the contestants that they
- 43:50Speaker 1: don't want to be doing what they're doing. But they
- 43:53Speaker 1: either one feel like, um, they need to be, like
- 43:57Speaker 1: it's gonna make them a better human, it's gonna bring
- 44:00Speaker 1: out some courage inside of them, or they feel like, hey,
- 44:02Speaker 1: they need to stick around and get paid for it.
- 44:03Speaker 1: Either way, they're doing it, and um, like there's fear
- 44:07Speaker 1: and emotion and tears and in the eyes of these contestants,
- 44:12Speaker 1: men and women, and uh, that's why he had so
- 44:14Speaker 1: many drop off because they're just like, I can't handle
- 44:18Speaker 1: what I'm feeling right now. You've got me really excited
- 44:21Speaker 1: to watch the show. Now. It sounds like a group date,
- 44:23Speaker 1: though it makes me worried that it's gonna seem like
- 44:26Speaker 1: a um like one of those real a race group dates.
- 44:30Speaker 1: Trust me, there's there's no romance going on on this show.
- 44:33Speaker 1: As is that gonna bore me? No, No, you're gonna
- 44:35Speaker 1: be fine. You're gonna be You're gonna be fine. Al right.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Next headline is this is a big one. Caitlin Bristow
- 44:41Speaker 1: and Jason Tartik they'd be bunk breakup rumors and Bachelor
- 44:45Speaker 1: Nation reacts. Okay, so since they've got engaged in what
- 44:50Speaker 1: everybody has always been like, are there a night at
- 44:53Speaker 1: Somebody responded to a recent Q and A that Caitlin
- 44:58Speaker 1: did on Instagram and said, you and Jason are and
- 45:02Speaker 1: not working out? And then she replied with the video
- 45:04Speaker 1: of Jason kissing her on the cheek and wrote your
- 45:07Speaker 1: math eight math in um and then she goes She
- 45:11Speaker 1: captioned it, I'm engaged to a numbers guy. You can't
- 45:14Speaker 1: fool me, and then lots of you know. Jason responded
- 45:17Speaker 1: by saying, leave us alone, Karen. Uh, basically, nothing to
- 45:21Speaker 1: see you, but she's good. She's like, you know, fans
- 45:24Speaker 1: are saying stuff like trolls are gonna troll um, people
- 45:28Speaker 1: said that my marriage wouldn't last because of my wedding dress,
- 45:31Speaker 1: or like, I'm so sorry that you have to go
- 45:32Speaker 1: through this. Sending you positive vibes and lots of love.
- 45:35Speaker 1: Caitlin and Jason are still together. Yeah, it's good that
- 45:38Speaker 1: they are together. And speaking of wedding days, Serena Pitt
- 45:42Speaker 1: and Joe share their priorities for their wedding day, so
- 45:48Speaker 1: the two are answering some fan questions again Q and
- 45:51Speaker 1: I on Instagram, um, and they're talking about priorities for
- 45:56Speaker 1: their wedding, So obviously a priority is for it to
- 46:00Speaker 1: be personal and different. Um. Every couple this is like
- 46:03Speaker 1: a Q and A with their wedding planner um. And
- 46:07Speaker 1: things to think about for is guest experiences. They want
- 46:10Speaker 1: their friends of course to have super fun, memorable experience,
- 46:13Speaker 1: good food, good drinks, good music. And as people, um,
- 46:18Speaker 1: who work in the social media space, it's very important,
- 46:20Speaker 1: you know, basically to have photos and videos turn out well.
- 46:24Speaker 1: One fan asked Serena about the wedding planning process how
- 46:27Speaker 1: it's been going, and she said it's going great. It's
- 46:29Speaker 1: definitely overwhelming. It can be a little stressful, but she said,
- 46:32Speaker 1: shout out to the wedding planner, Christine for helping it
- 46:34Speaker 1: through them helping them through that. And um, they've they've
- 46:39Speaker 1: toured two wedding venues. Doesn't look like it's um set
- 46:42Speaker 1: on what they haven't said a wedding venue yet. Um,
- 46:45Speaker 1: but it's coming and it's it's sometime in the year,
- 46:48Speaker 1: so that's very exciting. It is exciting. A lot of
- 46:51Speaker 1: love in the air. Uh. And our final wedding headline, Um,
- 46:57Speaker 1: a lot of love headlines today, which is great. But
- 47:00Speaker 1: our final wedding headline is Brandon Jones reveals when he
- 47:05Speaker 1: and Serene are getting married, plus if he'd suggests going
- 47:10Speaker 1: on Bachelor Nation shows. Okay, first off, they're living together
- 47:14Speaker 1: in San Diego, which is very exciting. And again on
- 47:17Speaker 1: Instagram question and Answer, this is their responses. Somebody asked
- 47:23Speaker 1: Brandon his favorite quality about Serene and then he said
- 47:26Speaker 1: her contagious laugh. Um said the most important things to
- 47:32Speaker 1: look for in a relationship, he says, it is communication
- 47:35Speaker 1: and patience. And then what what keeps the relationship feeling special?
- 47:42Speaker 1: He says all about the little things, little things that
- 47:44Speaker 1: make big big things. Um, the little things make the
- 47:47Speaker 1: big things so special. And surprise ice skating works too,
- 47:50Speaker 1: that's very cute. And then somebody asked, um, if you know,
- 47:56Speaker 1: like you just said, should he go on the show? Like,
- 47:58Speaker 1: would you recommend going on the show? And he said,
- 48:00Speaker 1: I absolutely would. It was some of the best moments
- 48:03Speaker 1: of my life. And of course the biggest, you know,
- 48:05Speaker 1: the most important thing here is have they picked a
- 48:08Speaker 1: wedding date? Somebody asked, and he said that they have
- 48:11Speaker 1: picked a date in wow, let's go amazing. That's amazing.
- 48:18Speaker 1: Good for them, a lot of love in the air. Well. Uh,
- 48:21Speaker 1: we are getting closer and closer to the next season
- 48:24Speaker 1: of The Bachelor. Our Bachelor's Zach uh Is is obviously
- 48:30Speaker 1: out there doing some media runs and his cast has
- 48:33Speaker 1: now been um introduced to us. If you want a
- 48:38Speaker 1: very unprofessional, very uneducated breakdown of the cast, you can
- 48:44Speaker 1: go back and listen to our last episode where we
- 48:45Speaker 1: go through every cast member, where they're from, what they're doing,
- 48:50Speaker 1: what we think they're gonna be. Like, it's probably all wrong,
- 48:52Speaker 1: none of it's gonna be right. That's okay. Uh, we
- 48:56Speaker 1: just do it for fun. But you should go back
- 48:58Speaker 1: and look at the cast and listen to our episode.
- 49:01Speaker 1: So here's the big announcement. Kind of came under the
- 49:04Speaker 1: radar this week, uh in Bachelor Nation news, but I
- 49:07Speaker 1: think it's a fairly uh intriguing headline. Zach the Bachelor,
- 49:13Speaker 1: It's hopeful hope Zach the Bachelor. One of his hopefuls
- 49:19Speaker 1: reveals she's divorced through casting announcement and quotes it says
- 49:25Speaker 1: hard launch. I watched this, Ashley, this is wild. The
- 49:30Speaker 1: Bachelor continues to get wild. This is one of the
- 49:33Speaker 1: wild ones. Okay, this is really funny. So one of
- 49:37Speaker 1: the girls that we broke out of course last week,
- 49:40Speaker 1: you said that she was like scary, you said that
- 49:43Speaker 1: you were very intimded by her. Victoria got on her
- 49:46Speaker 1: own TikTok last week and this is how she announced
- 49:51Speaker 1: to like her friends and family, I'm supposing and basically
- 49:56Speaker 1: all Bachelor Nation um that she is divorced. She goes
- 50:00Speaker 1: hard launched, I'm divorced. Tuned into My Second Chance of
- 50:04Speaker 1: at Love on The Bachelor, premiers on January. This is
- 50:09Speaker 1: not on the Bachelor's TikTok. It is on her personal TikTok.
- 50:11Speaker 1: So she is like got her hand on her face
- 50:15Speaker 1: in front of her like Bachelor casting card with like
- 50:18Speaker 1: all of her info and her her official photo, and
- 50:23Speaker 1: uh yeah, so she's telling everyone I'm divorced and she
- 50:26Speaker 1: said it to a song. The song she said it
- 50:29Speaker 1: too was like one of the TikTok sounds where it's like,
- 50:32Speaker 1: I just want my ex to know that I'm living
- 50:34Speaker 1: a better life without him. And now she's on the Bachelor. Goodness, gracious,
- 50:39Speaker 1: it's gonna be something to watch. Yeah, it's gonna be
- 50:42Speaker 1: something to watch. It didn't make headlines this week. Um
- 50:47Speaker 1: no mine. Well, I hope she finds love on The Bachelor,
- 50:52Speaker 1: her second chance. I hope this is a great chance.
- 50:54Speaker 1: And if not, like most contestines, soon after the show,
- 50:58Speaker 1: you typically get your third shot at of or whatever
- 51:00Speaker 1: you wanna call it, and you do find somebody. A
- 51:02Speaker 1: lot of people do meet their special partner following up
- 51:06Speaker 1: from the show, which we hope for everybody. Alright, final
- 51:10Speaker 1: headline is this, Um bachelorette Katie Thurston sparks romance rumors
- 51:17Speaker 1: with the Circles Nick. I don't know who this is.
- 51:23Speaker 1: I don't watch that show, So if I said it wrong,
- 51:25Speaker 1: I apologize, but you know what I'm talking about after
- 51:28Speaker 1: John Hersey split. Basically, they've been seen in several Instagram
- 51:34Speaker 1: posts together in like group formats, so we'll keep an
