- 0:19Speaker 3: Studio here's jacob hester and.
- 0:47Speaker 2: Yo.
- 0:48Speaker 4: Yo.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Yo.
- 0:51Speaker 2: What's up, guys?
- 0:54Speaker 5: Ow.
- 0:55Speaker 6: Ow.
- 0:56Speaker 7: Ow.
- 0:58Speaker 6: Welcome in OTB.
- 1:00Speaker 2: That was good. That was me. That was well done.
- 1:06Speaker 6: I'm done with whatever that was.
- 1:07Speaker 8: A sad wolf.
- 1:08Speaker 6: Sad wolf.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Because wolf. What are y'all sad about?
- 1:14Speaker 6: Not a good football weekend here, buddy.
- 1:16Speaker 2: Happy Monday.
- 1:19Speaker 8: Every team possible. Like, down to my fantasy teams.
- 1:22Speaker 2: Oh, not even the fantasy.
- 1:24Speaker 6: Yeah, man.
- 1:25Speaker 8: Not a great weekend.
- 1:26Speaker 2: You're the only one. I'm the only one.
- 1:28Speaker 4: You're the only one. And they beat your team, the Bears. So,
- 1:32Speaker 4: I don't really know how you feel about that. I mean,
- 1:35Speaker 4: I don't understand that. You love, no, like the Bears
- 1:38Speaker 4: kind of like you're adopted. You really like Ben Johnson.
- 1:41Speaker 9: That was me calling. That was my calling my shot
- 1:43Speaker 9: that I thought they would do well this year.
- 1:44Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:46Speaker 2: So you like them.
- 1:46Speaker 10: It's fine.
- 1:47Speaker 9: And I got a lot of Caleb cards, but no,
- 1:49Speaker 9: I didn't cheer for the Bears against the Packers.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Are you kidding me? Packers, BTA.
- 1:54Speaker 4: I mean, thank God for me for the U-High Cubs because, whew,
- 1:59Speaker 4: the Tigers is a Saints, the Chargers, the 10U Chargers.
- 2:02Speaker 6: We didn't even get it done.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Wait, wait, wait.
- 2:04Speaker 10: What was the final score Friday? I never called it.
- 2:06Speaker 6: 42-18, maybe.
- 2:11Speaker 2: Something like that. I don't know. 14-14?
- 2:13Speaker 6: I don't know. I was in Lexington and trying to
- 2:17Speaker 6: watch it on my phone.
- 2:17Speaker 4: It wasn't coming through very clear.
- 2:20Speaker 6: It was on Huddle.
- 2:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:24Speaker 8: Huddle's still a thing.
- 2:25Speaker 6: It's still a thing. That's where the game was.
- 2:27Speaker 2: Huddle's popping. It was on Huddle. Huddle is popping. Thank
- 2:30Speaker 2: God for that one. So do you have to have
- 2:31Speaker 2: like a parent log in and you get to watch, right?
- 2:34Speaker 4: I use my mom's log in because she signed up.
- 2:38Speaker 6: That's how she normally watches. She signed up and I
- 2:40Speaker 6: use that puppy. Sweet.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Yeah, no, it wasn't great, buddy. It wasn't great.
- 2:46Speaker 4: The two Louisiana, Maine, Louisiana football teams.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Turns out, not that great. Not that great. Both of
- 2:57Speaker 2: them went into each game very ill-prepared, I feel like. Yeah.
- 3:03Speaker 8: But the Saints kind of looked like that pretty much
- 3:09Speaker 8: the majority of the season.
- 3:11Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:13Speaker 10: Yeah, like LSU looked bad. I think the Saints just
- 3:16Speaker 10: played a game.
- 3:17Speaker 2: Yeah, they just played a game.
- 3:18Speaker 10: Yeah. I mean, that's just kind of who they are.
- 3:20Speaker 1: Unfortunately.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Unfortunately.
- 3:23Speaker 4: We can start with LSU. We can go to the
- 3:26Speaker 4: Saints later. Each needs their own time. Each needs their
- 3:29Speaker 4: own therapy session. The LSU game is going to be
- 3:33Speaker 4: as frustrating as you'll have watching it, and not because of,
- 3:41Speaker 4: you know, I.
- 3:41Speaker 6: Wish they would have done this.
- 3:42Speaker 2: I wish they would have done that.
- 3:43Speaker 4: We could do that, and probably at some point we'll
- 3:47Speaker 4: get to that, but Everything in that game that happened,
- 3:50Speaker 4: you still should have won the game seven times. Like,
- 3:54Speaker 4: with everything that happened.
- 3:55Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:55Speaker 4: You didn't get the calls. They didn't get penalized. Touchdown
- 4:01Speaker 4: before half was really questionable.
- 4:03Speaker 2: All of that.
- 4:03Speaker 4: And we'll get to the whole gambit of it. But
- 4:06Speaker 4: the most frustrating thing is, with all of that, you
- 4:09Speaker 4: still had seven different ways you could have won that game.
- 4:12Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 4:12Speaker 9: At least seven. And this is not going to be a.
- 4:16Speaker 9: therapy session where it's like, well, she was a better team.
- 4:18Speaker 9: If we played nine, 10, like we played 10 times,
- 4:21Speaker 9: we didn't win nine of them. Like, I think that's,
- 4:25Speaker 9: I'm not going to say that. Cause you didn't win.
- 4:28Speaker 9: So you were not the better team on Saturday. You
- 4:32Speaker 9: had every opportunity to win it as players, as coaches,
- 4:37Speaker 9: and you didn't do it. So yeah, Kentucky was the
- 4:41Speaker 9: better team. So they get to tell, say, tell everybody,
- 4:44Speaker 9: for a year or until the next time you plan
- 4:47Speaker 9: that they were better than you, which might be seven.
- 4:49Speaker 9: And yeah, I do believe if you played 10 times,
- 4:51Speaker 9: you went at nine times, but you didn't win it Saturday.
- 4:56Speaker 9: And it's frustrating. It's frustrating to see the team perform
- 5:02Speaker 9: the way they did. Of course, from an X is
- 5:06Speaker 9: a no standpoint, of course, from a mono E mono standpoint,
- 5:09Speaker 9: but You mentioned already some of the situations. There's countless
- 5:13Speaker 9: situations that we could spend a whole segment on a
- 5:17Speaker 9: lot of these situations, situational football. And that was very
- 5:22Speaker 9: frustrating to watch. There was definitely a lot of oxygen
- 5:26Speaker 9: that was getting punched by me Saturday watching this game.
- 5:30Speaker 2: And it's frustrating. And I've already punched oxygen twice.
- 5:33Speaker 9: Punched air here in this room this morning because I
- 5:36Speaker 9: turned on the film for the first time this morning
- 5:37Speaker 9: when I sat down and I watched the first series
- 5:40Speaker 9: of LSU offense. And it was frustrating. Yeah, the team
- 5:46Speaker 9: looked very unprepared. Coaches, you looked very unprepared as well.
- 5:51Speaker 9: And it was frustrating. And I don't know if anybody's
- 5:56Speaker 9: listening to this. They shouldn't be.
- 5:57Speaker 2: Mad at me. Like, they know. They know it was bad.
- 6:03Speaker 2: Look in the mirror.
- 6:06Speaker 4: LSU hasn't won a road game in the last six chances.
- 6:09Speaker 4: That was a shocking stat when that popped up.
- 6:14Speaker 6: And I knew it.
- 6:14Speaker 2: Is it 400 days now is what it is?
- 6:17Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like 700 and something from SEC. That hurt
- 6:24Speaker 4: my heart to see.
- 6:25Speaker 2: I'm like, wait a minute, we're LSU. What? Well, we're
- 6:27Speaker 2: definitely going to win this one for sure. What are
- 6:29Speaker 2: you talking about? That counter is going to be reset.
- 6:33Speaker 2: That's what I said when I saw it.
- 6:35Speaker 4: And, look, the tail of the tape, like if you
- 6:37Speaker 4: looked at just the team stats, first down is LSU 26,
- 6:43Speaker 4: Kentucky 19. Third down efficiency, LSU 7 of 13. Really
- 6:47Speaker 4: good again. Kentucky 5 of 14. Fourth downs, you're 1
- 6:51Speaker 4: of 1. Kentucky's 1 of 2. Total yards, you win there,
- 6:55Speaker 4: 410 to 401.
- 6:59Speaker 6: You threw the ball better, they ran the ball better. Penalties,
- 7:02Speaker 6: seven for LSU, two for Kentucky.
- 7:05Speaker 2: Two.
- 7:06Speaker 6: A clear targeting call and a clear roughing the passer.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Turnovers.
- 7:11Speaker 6: They took care of the football. They didn't have any.
- 7:13Speaker 2: You had two.
- 7:14Speaker 4: You won time of possession as well. A lot of
- 7:16Speaker 4: things you won in this game, except the game. So
- 7:20Speaker 4: many opportunities, as we said. Like when you get gifts
- 7:24Speaker 4: like that, like the missed field goals.
- 7:26Speaker 1: Two.
- 7:27Speaker 4: And you don't take advantage of it. There's so many
- 7:32Speaker 4: different parts of this that are going to be frustrating. And, again,
- 7:35Speaker 4: we'll talk it all through. We'll look at some of
- 7:37Speaker 4: the plays that worked, some of the ones that didn't work.
- 7:39Speaker 4: Like the last play the LSU ran offensively, I loved it.
- 7:42Speaker 2: I loved it.
- 7:42Speaker 6: It was a counter.
- 7:44Speaker 4: Motion the fullback back into the backfield. And, you know,
- 7:48Speaker 4: you have the puller. And then the fullback goes like
- 7:50Speaker 4: he's cutting off backside. And then he wraps around as
- 7:52Speaker 4: the second puller.
- 7:54Speaker 2: Loved it.
- 7:54Speaker 6: Great play design. Wish I would have seen that on
- 7:57Speaker 6: fourth and one or something.
- 7:59Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 8:00Speaker 6: Something on fourth and one. Cause I wanted him to
- 8:02Speaker 6: go for it on fourth and one.
- 8:03Speaker 4: And I know it's going to probably be the thing
- 8:05Speaker 4: that's talked about the most this weekend or this week,
- 8:08Speaker 4: I should say all the way to the next weekend.
- 8:12Speaker 8: Didn't last week he say like, y'all hired me to
- 8:15Speaker 8: go for it on fourth.
- 8:16Speaker 2: And one or something like that. Yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 8:19Speaker 8: Or something along those lines.
- 8:20Speaker 10: It was Texas A & M. It was right before half.
- 8:23Speaker 10: He didn't go for it. It was fourth and about
- 8:26Speaker 10: half a yard. No, it didn't matter because you beat
- 8:28Speaker 10: the crap out of A & M, but he, kind
- 8:30Speaker 10: of said word for word, like, what he did this
- 8:33Speaker 10: past weekend. Like, I talked myself out of it. And
- 8:35Speaker 10: my question is, why are you continuing to talk yourself
- 8:37Speaker 10: out of it?
- 8:38Speaker 2: I mean, just the sloppiness of.
- 8:44Speaker 4: Well, the fourth and one portion of it, I mean,
- 8:46Speaker 4: the school that we come from, you didn't even think
- 8:48Speaker 4: about it.
- 8:50Speaker 2: Just went.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Like, we wouldn't have even looked over to the sideline. Like, oh,
- 8:54Speaker 4: we're going. I still didn't even look over there.
- 8:56Speaker 9: It just seemed everything was the operation. Everything was sloppy.
- 9:00Speaker 9: How many times, like twice in the game, it was
- 9:02Speaker 9: a big conversion, like a big moment to go for it.
- 9:06Speaker 9: You line up and you do the jump off sides play.
- 9:11Speaker 9: Then you call a timeout. And then one time you
- 9:14Speaker 9: decided to still. It's just everything was just broken. Like
- 9:18Speaker 9: nothing was smooth, I thought, operationally throughout the game. And, yeah,
- 9:22Speaker 9: the fourth and one is going to be talked about
- 9:24Speaker 9: by everybody. Because, yes, you should have gone for it. And, like,
- 9:26Speaker 9: he knows that. I mean, LSU will probably know. never
- 9:29Speaker 9: punt again this year. I mean, if it's fourth and 80,
- 9:31Speaker 9: it'll probably still go for it. I, there's a regret there.
- 9:35Speaker 2: And I get that.
- 9:36Speaker 9: And I can, I can absolutely listen to the argument
- 9:40Speaker 9: of why you punt there. You play that out a
- 9:43Speaker 9: hundred times. You probably win 99. Like that just, I
- 9:47Speaker 9: can hear that argument.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Yes.
- 9:48Speaker 9: You should have gone forward on fourth one, but that's
- 9:50Speaker 9: just like one of so many things that went wrong
- 9:55Speaker 9: throughout the game.
- 9:56Speaker 4: So we'll get into all of them. We'll try not
- 10:03Speaker 4: to spit. I just, honestly, I just fully believed. And, again,
- 10:09Speaker 4: like on the broadcast, and Chris Blair's like, hey, put
- 10:12Speaker 4: your coaching headset on. I was like, before he could
- 10:14Speaker 4: even finish, I was like, go for it. You go
- 10:16Speaker 4: for it. Like, I come from the school of Les Miles. Like,
- 10:18Speaker 4: you go for it. You finish the game here. You're
- 10:20Speaker 4: the road team. If you're the home team, maybe it's
- 10:22Speaker 4: a little bit different. You're the road team. You finish it.
- 10:26Speaker 4: You got three feet. You got three feet.
- 10:29Speaker 6: You win the game.
- 10:31Speaker 4: Now, I know, to your point, if you're trying to
- 10:33Speaker 4: play devil's advocate, you didn't run it well. 2.6 yards
- 10:37Speaker 4: per rush.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:39Speaker 6: You didn't get a lot of push.
- 10:40Speaker 2: You didn't run it well, which was... Surprising. Which was...
- 10:44Speaker 2: You ran one. I went to curse. Your guards... We've
- 10:48Speaker 2: got to have a real conversation about your guards. We've
- 10:52Speaker 2: got to have a conversation about them.
- 10:56Speaker 9: Okay, I hadn't watched the whole film, so I might
- 10:58Speaker 9: be speaking out of turn, but I've watched the first
- 11:00Speaker 9: little bit of the first quarter. We've got to have
- 11:03Speaker 9: a conversation about the scheme, too. There are so many
- 11:07Speaker 9: people pulling every single play and leaving guys free, and.
- 11:12Speaker 2: It's hard to sort that out.
- 11:14Speaker 9: When you're blocking with a tight end, a fullback, running back,
- 11:18Speaker 9: or in a receiver, like in a bunch, and you're
- 11:21Speaker 9: pulling two linemen, it's hard to sort that out.
- 11:24Speaker 2: You've got to declare a will.
- 11:25Speaker 9: You've got to say, this guy's got the mic, this
- 11:27Speaker 9: guy's got the sand, this guy's got the first number four,
- 11:29Speaker 9: this guy's got the safety if he shows, if he
- 11:32Speaker 9: doesn't show, and then you've got the corner. There's so
- 11:34Speaker 9: much stuff to sort out, and there's leakage. There's leakage everywhere.
- 11:38Speaker 9: I didn't see a whole lot of, like, let's line
- 11:40Speaker 9: up and run duo or iso. It was just like,
- 11:46Speaker 9: let's pull as many people as we can And then
- 11:48Speaker 9: you start pulling people on play action. That's like a
- 11:53Speaker 9: go-to pass protection, which is mind-boggling. That has come in
- 11:57Speaker 9: vogue in football.
- 11:58Speaker 2: And it shouldn't. It should be like a change.
- 12:00Speaker 4: Well, it should be a, we've run a lot of
- 12:03Speaker 4: counter and power, and we're going to run this twice
- 12:06Speaker 4: on play action.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 12:08Speaker 9: But it's not a play action because all the other
- 12:11Speaker 9: linemen stand straight up.
- 12:12Speaker 2: And you've got one guard pulling.
- 12:15Speaker 9: Running five yards behind the line of scrimmage to catch
- 12:17Speaker 9: up to the free defender.
- 12:22Speaker 2: I don't know. The game plan looked very non-prepared to me. Again,
- 12:30Speaker 2: I've only watched the first quarter on the film, but man.
- 12:34Speaker 10: I mean, how many illegal motions did they have? How
- 12:37Speaker 10: many pre-snap penalties on offense? Dude, starting the game, they
- 12:41Speaker 10: weren't mentally ready to play. And not to like, and yeah.
- 12:43Speaker 10: I'm not trying to hate, but when we see any
- 12:47Speaker 10: team come out of timeout and have a penalty, that,
- 12:56Speaker 10: because you don't have the right personnel. You're trying to
- 12:59Speaker 10: go big.
- 13:00Speaker 4: You're trying to run an extra offensive lineman out there
- 13:02Speaker 4: to either play tight end or fullback or something.
- 13:05Speaker 6: Everybody's out there. He's not out there. You try to
- 13:08Speaker 6: run him on the field late and get a penalty.
- 13:11Speaker 2: I'd have a timeout. Put that out on the players.
- 13:22Speaker 4: So, obviously, a lot to get into. We'll continue talking
- 13:26Speaker 4: about it. Highlight some of the moments that we're talking about. Again,
- 13:30Speaker 4: many moments in this game. A lot to discuss. We'll
- 13:35Speaker 4: get to it when we come back here.
- 13:36Speaker 2: 80 coaches. We couldn't get that guy on the field.
- 13:38Speaker 2: Good TV.
- 13:40Speaker 3: Off the bench.
- 13:41Speaker 6: Did you wait to say that?
- 13:42Speaker 2: No, I was just thinking about it.

- 14:49Speaker 3: Off the Bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 15:11Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in OTV. You're live from the
- 15:14Speaker 4: Raising Cane Studio. Our Monday show is brought to you
- 15:17Speaker 4: by our friends over at Bayou Automotive, bayouautomotive.com, Ford Chrysler, Dodge.
- 15:21Speaker 6: Jeep, and Ram.
- 15:24Speaker 4: Reacting to LSU going down in Lexington 35-34, it is
- 15:27Speaker 4: now the third straight time LSU has lost in Lexington 07, 21,
- 15:30Speaker 4: and 26.
- 15:30Speaker 6: Tough place to play. I mean, we can't really say
- 15:38Speaker 6: that we lost there.
- 15:39Speaker 2: I know. That's why I said that.
- 15:44Speaker 6: I do think, I mean, it's not going to help anybody.
- 15:46Speaker 4: I do think Kentucky is a good football team. Still
- 15:49Speaker 4: doesn't change the fact that they should have won the game.
- 15:51Speaker 4: But they are a good football team. It's not, you know,
- 15:54Speaker 4: in 2007, they were good. They were good that year, too.
- 15:57Speaker 4: They had pros.
- 15:58Speaker 6: I think they're a good football team. You still should
- 16:02Speaker 6: not have lost.
- 16:03Speaker 2: They're a sound football team. I think they're good. They
- 16:07Speaker 2: are good.
- 16:07Speaker 4: I didn't say they're great by any means. Again, you
- 16:12Speaker 4: were gifted the game two different times. You couldn't close out.
- 16:18Speaker 8: I mean, he missed two field goals.
- 16:20Speaker 6: Yeah. I mean, he said, here, take this.
- 16:23Speaker 2: But they were long ones though, right?
- 16:25Speaker 10: No. That was my biggest concern when we did not
- 16:29Speaker 10: go for that fourth down. I'm like, this guy's not
- 16:31Speaker 10: missing a third kick. I guess this is not happening.
- 16:35Speaker 6: Oh, well, I mean.
- 16:36Speaker 9: Hell, I didn't think he missed the second kick. Yeah,
- 16:39Speaker 9: I feel like kickers are head cases. I feel like
- 16:41Speaker 9: you're more likely to miss the third than you are
- 16:42Speaker 9: the first. They like to spiral.
- 16:47Speaker 10: Well, I kind of thought there was a chance on
- 16:49Speaker 10: the second one because LSU didn't have the ball long.
- 16:51Speaker 10: They gave it right back to him. I'm like, he
- 16:54Speaker 10: just kicked this ball five minutes ago.
- 16:58Speaker 4: I don't know. I went full Brian Kelly when hitting
- 17:00Speaker 4: the desk when Sam fumbled that one.
- 17:02Speaker 6: I ain't going to lie to you, in the booth.
- 17:04Speaker 2: Oh, yeah, in the pocket?
- 17:05Speaker 4: I'm like, why are we throwing the football? And what
- 17:10Speaker 4: in the world is he doing?
- 17:12Speaker 9: Because the linemen were so exhausted from pulling so much
- 17:16Speaker 9: and running, they couldn't.
- 17:17Speaker 4: No, well, that can be whatever. He jumps up, no
- 17:22Speaker 4: ball security, just take the sack. Take the sack, live
- 17:26Speaker 4: to play another down. It's going to be third and
- 17:27Speaker 4: 10 probably, third and 11. It was second and five. And, yeah,
- 17:33Speaker 4: you had Jones open. You were never going to get
- 17:35Speaker 4: that football to him. Like, that's just careless with the football.
- 17:40Speaker 4: In that moment, you cannot be careless with the football. Like,
- 17:43Speaker 4: you take the sack. It's third and 11. You try
- 17:47Speaker 4: to pick it up, and you'll punt it back to him.
- 17:50Speaker 4: You give him the football right back. Now, again, you're lucky.
- 17:53Speaker 4: The kicker missed it. Then when you get the ball back,
- 17:57Speaker 4: I didn't mind the first quarterback run because you had
- 17:59Speaker 4: success with that play.
- 18:00Speaker 2: Don't mind that one.
- 18:01Speaker 6: And then the second one, I'm like.
- 18:02Speaker 4: All right, guys, hey, y'all got a really good running
- 18:06Speaker 4: back in Dylan Jones. I know he hadn't had the
- 18:07Speaker 4: biggest day because there hadn't been a lot of room,
- 18:09Speaker 4: but the second quarterback run was surprising.
- 18:13Speaker 6: And then on third down, I like the play design.
- 18:17Speaker 4: You throw it to Watkins, I would have loved to
- 18:19Speaker 4: see that be Jackson Harris just because of body size.
- 18:23Speaker 4: And in that moment, I think I might have said
- 18:25Speaker 4: it on the broadcast, I said, that ball, If all
- 18:29Speaker 4: things are right, it's going to number seven. If you've
- 18:32Speaker 4: got your full arsenal. That ball would have gone to
- 18:35Speaker 4: Trey Dez if he was available in this game. And
- 18:38Speaker 4: I say that only to bring up, who's that guy now?
- 18:43Speaker 4: For me, it's been Jackson Harris. He's been that guy.
- 18:47Speaker 4: And so I was a little bit surprised. And look,
- 18:48Speaker 4: it was a great play design. And I love the
- 18:51Speaker 4: fact that they actually threw the football and didn't just
- 18:53Speaker 4: try to run it again. But you fell a yard short,
- 18:58Speaker 4: and then you punted. Well, what a good game for–
- 19:07Speaker 4: it wasn't a good game for the offense.
- 19:08Speaker 9: It just wasn't. You moved the ball a little bit.
- 19:12Speaker 9: You moved the ball here and there.
- 19:13Speaker 2: They had 40 yards.
- 19:15Speaker 4: I mean, they didn't finish anything. But that's not just
- 19:19Speaker 4: this game. What did we talk about last– yeah, last
- 19:23Speaker 4: week when we were breaking down the tape? We talked
- 19:26Speaker 4: about the red zone issues you have. You moved the
- 19:28Speaker 4: ball the first drive of the game. fully believe you
- 19:33Speaker 4: first drive the game can dictate a lot of that game.
- 19:36Speaker 6: You drive it right down the field and then you
- 19:38Speaker 6: settle for a field goal.
- 19:39Speaker 2: Oh, you did drive it down the field. I don't know.
- 19:41Speaker 2: You were in the red area a couple different times. Yeah.
- 19:46Speaker 2: I just watched that first drive too. It wasn't pretty.
- 19:51Speaker 2: It wasn't pretty.
- 19:52Speaker 9: They made some plays because you had better athletes in
- 19:57Speaker 9: some certain spots that made some plays, certainly. And I
- 20:02Speaker 9: know you and I both disagree on this fact that
- 20:05Speaker 9: I thought the offense was– Decent, you had 400 yards, yeah.
- 20:11Speaker 9: Is that up to par with what your season average
- 20:14Speaker 9: has been?
- 20:14Speaker 2: No. But you couldn't finish anything.
- 20:20Speaker 9: It took two special or trick plays to score touchdowns.
- 20:25Speaker 2: And I know we're on the different sides of that opinion.
- 20:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean, I don't mind trick plays. I'm like,
- 20:30Speaker 6: there are plays in your playbook.
- 20:31Speaker 9: Trick plays are fine, but when you have to trick
- 20:33Speaker 9: Kentucky to score– Because they weren't going to score without
- 20:38Speaker 9: those two plays. I mean, you say you got to
- 20:41Speaker 9: trick Kentucky.
- 20:42Speaker 4: I can tell, like, that team's not that bad for
- 20:48Speaker 4: you to say you got to trick Kentucky.
- 20:50Speaker 6: I mean, historically, yes. But you had plays in your
- 20:54Speaker 6: playbook that were good enough to score.
- 20:56Speaker 4: Compared to LSU, yeah. And so you pulled them out.
- 21:01Speaker 4: You saw something on tape. I don't have any problem
- 21:03Speaker 4: with that.
- 21:05Speaker 2: I don't have a problem with it either. I'm just saying.
- 21:08Speaker 2: We weren't scoring touchdowns without them.
- 21:12Speaker 6: And that's why you called them.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I got it.
- 21:15Speaker 4: LSU's not been good in the red zone all year.
- 21:18Speaker 4: It's not just this game. They got to figure out
- 21:21Speaker 4: some things. And, look, again, injuries happen. You don't have
- 21:27Speaker 4: maybe the best red zone target in college football outside
- 21:31Speaker 4: of maybe Jeremiah Smith.
- 21:34Speaker 6: Then trade as green.
- 21:35Speaker 2: You don't have him.
- 21:36Speaker 6: He ain't going to be here for still a minute.
- 21:39Speaker 6: Alabama game. You got two more games before that.
- 21:44Speaker 2: You got to figure out something. So the scheme's good?
- 21:46Speaker 2: Is that what you're saying?
- 21:48Speaker 4: Whatever it is in the red area, you got to
- 21:49Speaker 4: figure it out. The scheme's been good from 20 to 20.
- 21:52Speaker 4: It can't be where they were offensively in the country
- 22:02Speaker 4: and say it's a bad scheme.
- 22:05Speaker 6: The red zone stuff, yes, absolutely.
- 22:09Speaker 9: I can say some things are not very sound. And
- 22:12Speaker 9: then you have better athletes in places that are making plays.
- 22:17Speaker 6: What would you like?
- 22:17Speaker 9: Are you saying we should continuously pull the center to
- 22:20Speaker 9: block the edge, Rusher?
- 22:23Speaker 2: Should we do that more?
- 22:24Speaker 6: Listen, I don't love it, but that is in vogue
- 22:26Speaker 6: in every level of football.
- 22:28Speaker 2: It doesn't work.
- 22:30Speaker 9: Sam got really exploded while throwing a swing route.
- 22:34Speaker 1: Oh.
- 22:38Speaker 6: I never heard it said it exploded.
- 22:39Speaker 2: It did.
- 22:40Speaker 9: You know how many people on their team were faked
- 22:45Speaker 9: out by the play action?
- 22:47Speaker 2: Everybody else stood straight up?
- 22:49Speaker 4: I don't know if you're pulling the guards, and I'm
- 22:51Speaker 4: just– I don't know if you're pulling them because they're
- 22:53Speaker 4: struggling right now to block. The guard play on Saturday,
- 22:59Speaker 4: they were getting big-boyed, straight up, getting big-boyed. I thought
- 23:05Speaker 4: Braylon Moore played well and covered some things up for
- 23:07Speaker 4: the guards.
- 23:09Speaker 6: They did not have a good night. I can tell
- 23:11Speaker 6: you that. So I don't know.
- 23:14Speaker 4: I don't know if you do that because you're trying
- 23:16Speaker 4: to create something different for them. I mean, look, I'm
- 23:20Speaker 4: with you. I don't love it, but I see it
- 23:21Speaker 4: across football. Hell, my son does it for you high.
- 23:26Speaker 4: I'm like, oh, he's pulling. They're going to run power. No,
- 23:31Speaker 4: he's pass blocking. So I don't know if that's why
- 23:37Speaker 4: you do it.
- 23:37Speaker 2: I don't know. Like, that's an issue for this team.
- 23:41Speaker 4: The interior offensive line at the guard position is an
- 23:44Speaker 4: issue right now. I'm not saying that the tackles were
- 23:49Speaker 4: world beaters, but they're better than the guard play right now.
- 23:58Speaker 2: This is where you talk. I mean, I don't know.
- 24:02Speaker 2: We just, I think we just... We disagree on....
- 24:08Speaker 9: You're just kind of saying it is what it is.
- 24:11Speaker 9: And I'm saying, well, it shouldn't be that way. I
- 24:13Speaker 9: think you're doing it to try to hide a deficiency
- 24:19Speaker 9: a little bit. Okay. To me, that's like, we're having
- 24:24Speaker 9: a pass protection issue, so let's block with seven now.
- 24:29Speaker 9: It's like you're... Trying to say, it's like LSU last
- 24:33Speaker 9: year saying, we don't have the guards to run power,
- 24:35Speaker 9: so we're not going to do it. You can't change
- 24:38Speaker 9: your scheme and make it unsound because you think you've
- 24:41Speaker 9: got a deficiency somewhere.
- 24:43Speaker 4: What makes you, and this is not rhetorical, what makes
- 24:45Speaker 4: you say it's unsound? What part of it? That's what
- 24:48Speaker 4: I'm asking.
- 24:49Speaker 9: Full slides and leave edge rushers completely rushing for a
- 24:52Speaker 9: lineman that's running to chasing to block an edge rusher
- 24:55Speaker 9: that's free off the edge is unsound. Running pass routes
- 25:00Speaker 9: and where they're not, looking back and they're just complete
- 25:03Speaker 9: decoys is unsound.
- 25:06Speaker 6: That happened.
- 25:07Speaker 2: Surely that happened deep into the game. No, for first 15.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Oh, first play.
- 25:14Speaker 9: I've seen it a lot this year and it is,
- 25:15Speaker 9: and it's kind of weird. And, and I've kind of
- 25:17Speaker 9: wrote it off a little bit too. Yes, we, we
- 25:19Speaker 9: do believe in different coverages. There's a certain side of
- 25:22Speaker 9: the field that's going to get the ball and you
- 25:23Speaker 9: are running so fast. You are going so fast offensively
- 25:27Speaker 9: that yeah, you, Realistically, if you're not going to get
- 25:32Speaker 9: the ball, maybe you kind of try to catch your
- 25:34Speaker 9: breath on those types of plays because you are going fast.
- 25:37Speaker 9: It is a little different offense than I'm used to.
- 25:39Speaker 9: But are they still going? What's the tempo like live watching?
- 25:43Speaker 9: It was Saturday in Kentucky. What was the tempo like?
- 25:47Speaker 9: How fast were they getting these snaps off? It didn't
- 25:49Speaker 9: seem like it was that fast.
- 25:51Speaker 6: Not, you know. Not six seconds per play, you know
- 25:57Speaker 6: what I'm saying?
- 25:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 25:58Speaker 4: Not the high tempo. Now it's still fast enough where–
- 26:00Speaker 4: Does it make a difference? Because in the past, I
- 26:03Speaker 4: feel like– If they don't sub. If they don't sub.
- 26:06Speaker 4: I think they sub more than they would like to
- 26:09Speaker 4: because they have to. At least in their minds, they
- 26:12Speaker 4: feel like they have to with– I'll give you an example.
- 26:17Speaker 4: Roman Mothershed is trying to– Look, he actually played pretty well.
- 26:23Speaker 4: He was your highest graded player. Not only did he
- 26:26Speaker 4: play 19 of the 74, but, like, he's trying to
- 26:29Speaker 4: replicate some of what Trey Des Green gave you, right?
- 26:34Speaker 4: So him and Zach or Grace are going to, you know,
- 26:37Speaker 4: kind of come in and out a little bit. Like,
- 26:39Speaker 4: if you had Trey Des Green, then he's in the game.
- 26:43Speaker 2: All right?
- 26:43Speaker 4: So I think the tempo gets messed up a little
- 26:45Speaker 4: bit by that because they're kind of trying to piece
- 26:49Speaker 4: together something that's not there. Hmm. and I think they
- 26:53Speaker 4: would like the receivers to be constant and stay in
- 26:56Speaker 4: there for a drive, but it feels like they're subbing
- 27:00Speaker 4: them in and out to try to run certain routes
- 27:02Speaker 4: or certain plays.
- 27:03Speaker 6: That's slowing them down a little bit. Now it's still
- 27:05Speaker 6: fast enough.
- 27:05Speaker 4: Where I can barely get a word in sometimes because,
- 27:08Speaker 4: you know, Chris has got to, hey, spot the ball,
- 27:10Speaker 4: set the formation. But to the tempo that I think
- 27:13Speaker 4: they want to run, no, I don't think it's as
- 27:16Speaker 4: fast as they want to run.
- 27:17Speaker 2: No, I do not.
- 27:20Speaker 8: It doesn't feel as fast as I expected it to be.
- 27:24Speaker 6: It's faster than you've done, but no, I agree.
- 27:26Speaker 10: I was thinking about this on Thursday. Like, if you
- 27:29Speaker 10: would have told me, man, do we miss Trades blocking
- 27:32Speaker 10: more than his receiving? Because, like, whenever Zach Grace is in,
- 27:35Speaker 10: whenever Mothershed's in, like, teams are picking up on that
- 27:38Speaker 10: tendency because Mothershed's a big body, but he's 210 pounds.
- 27:41Speaker 10: He's not going to have his hand in the dirt blocking.
- 27:43Speaker 10: I mean, Trades Green blocked his ass off the first
- 27:46Speaker 10: three games in the running game. You're going to have
- 27:48Speaker 10: to have Zach Grace to do that. But then Mothershed's
- 27:50Speaker 10: going to try to fill the role in the passing game. Like,
- 27:53Speaker 10: we're now learning, like, every down tight end what trade
- 27:56Speaker 10: has truly meant to this offense. Because that's what you're
- 27:58Speaker 10: talking about. Now they're having to rotate him back in.
- 28:01Speaker 10: That slows down things on offense. And now the defense
- 28:03Speaker 10: is like, oh, well, Grace is in. Let's see if
- 28:05Speaker 10: they're running the ball here. It's a big tendency. It is.
- 28:08Speaker 4: And Zach will probably tell you he did not have
- 28:11Speaker 4: the best game blocking here either.
- 28:14Speaker 6: It's not like.
- 28:16Speaker 2: You had.
- 28:17Speaker 6: Juszczyk in there blocking.
- 28:18Speaker 2: Right.
- 28:21Speaker 6: Like, that's why he's in there, and I didn't think
- 28:23Speaker 6: he had his best night.
- 28:23Speaker 10: Well, and then I was– when I saw the replay
- 28:26Speaker 10: of him being wide open for the touchdown, I'm like, yeah,
- 28:28Speaker 10: that makes sense. They haven't been able to connect with
- 28:29Speaker 10: him all year.
- 28:30Speaker 2: It's his first career catch.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 28:32Speaker 10: Why would you guard him?
- 28:34Speaker 9: I just thought there was a missed opportunity to establish
- 28:38Speaker 9: a good running game. You did run the ball. But
- 28:43Speaker 9: if you look at the runs that you– like, you
- 28:45Speaker 9: never– at least early on, you never try to run
- 28:48Speaker 9: downhill at them. You try to run sideline to sideline.
- 28:52Speaker 9: You try to jet sweep. You try to run these
- 28:54Speaker 9: very expansive and difficult to sort out counters. And then
- 28:58Speaker 9: you try to do a wedge on short yardage.
- 29:01Speaker 2: You just never really attempted to establish a running game.
- 29:07Speaker 9: So I don't really think you gave your interior offensive
- 29:10Speaker 9: lineman really a chance to.
- 29:14Speaker 2: Become dominant. Or to try to have a good game downhill.
- 29:19Speaker 4: You're trying to block side to side with your linemen
- 29:22Speaker 4: instead of forward.
- 29:24Speaker 9: And so that's what I saw. So that was a
- 29:26Speaker 9: little disappointing. I think in the fourth quarter, Dylan Jones
- 29:29Speaker 9: had three carries. One was like a short yardage wedge,
- 29:32Speaker 9: and another one was, I think, four yards, and one
- 29:34Speaker 9: was seven or eight yards.
- 29:35Speaker 2: Like then you stopped running them.
- 29:40Speaker 4: Yeah it's more in the I mean I don't know
- 29:43Speaker 4: I was like the run like it was one of
- 29:47Speaker 4: those games I don't really know where to tell the
- 29:49Speaker 4: running backs to run there was free guys and it
- 29:55Speaker 4: was shocking that there I forget what series I'm trying
- 29:57Speaker 4: to think what series it was I think it was
- 29:58Speaker 4: the second quarter Three straight runs, there was a free
- 30:03Speaker 4: defender waiting on the running back.
- 30:05Speaker 9: It started in the first quarter. Even some that Sam
- 30:07Speaker 9: pulled through, like in an RPO, there was a guy
- 30:10Speaker 9: waiting for him. And that's why I was frustrated watching it,
- 30:14Speaker 9: just saying they continue to pull so many people. When
- 30:18Speaker 9: you pull somebody, there has to be a count. Like
- 30:21Speaker 9: the offensive line, tight ends, there's a count from the
- 30:25Speaker 9: four down, then you declare a mic, and then you
- 30:28Speaker 9: have to start counting all these people. Well, like as
- 30:31Speaker 9: people rotate, safeties rotate in the box or they blitz
- 30:35Speaker 9: somebody or pressure somebody or a defensive end loops in
- 30:38Speaker 9: instead of rushing up the field, the count changes. And
- 30:41Speaker 9: when it works, it's beautiful. If everybody's on the same
- 30:44Speaker 9: page and they sort it out and they count it
- 30:46Speaker 9: out the right way, it's a beautiful thing when those
- 30:49Speaker 9: types of plays work. But you got so many people
- 30:52Speaker 9: you're depending on seeing it the right way in real time.
- 30:55Speaker 9: Like if there's one slip up, there's a free person.
- 30:58Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 30:59Speaker 9: Because when you pull people, that means there's blockers that
- 31:01Speaker 9: are letting people go free because they're trusting that the
- 31:05Speaker 9: pullers are going to.
- 31:06Speaker 2: Come and do the right thing.
- 31:09Speaker 4: Yeah, counter was, I mean, for sure, their lead run.
- 31:12Speaker 4: And we're talking about that's double pullers on that.
- 31:17Speaker 6: Now, it doesn't have to be offensive linemen.
- 31:18Speaker 4: Your second puller can be a number of players. But, yeah,
- 31:23Speaker 4: they ran 11 counters of their 34 runs. He also
- 31:27Speaker 4: ran three pull leads.
- 31:29Speaker 2: So, again. Yeah, that's. There was a lot of pullers.
- 31:32Speaker 2: You're going to have that. And pullers are good. But
- 31:34Speaker 2: you got to. You want to do a little bit more.
- 31:35Speaker 6: You ran one power.
- 31:40Speaker 2: All right. This is fun.
- 31:43Speaker 8: Went out.
- 31:45Speaker 2: Went out.
- 31:47Speaker 8: The rest of your schedule is not that tough.
- 31:49Speaker 2: No, it's not at all.
- 31:50Speaker 8: You just went out. Ten and two.
- 31:51Speaker 6: Let's go. Well, luckily, your tough games are at home.
- 31:54Speaker 6: It gives you at least a chance.
- 31:55Speaker 3: That's true.
- 31:55Speaker 2: Because they were on the road. Oof. Sharpie out.
- 31:57Speaker 8: Apparently you can't win on the road.
- 31:59Speaker 6: No, you can't. Six in a row. Did we lose
- 32:02Speaker 6: six road games in our four years?
- 32:04Speaker 2: I don't know if we lost six games. You lost
- 32:09Speaker 2: one your senior year.
- 32:12Speaker 10: Year before that.
- 32:13Speaker 6: I know I lost that at Auburn twice.
- 32:14Speaker 10: To the year before that because Florida and Auburn were
- 32:17Speaker 10: on the road.
- 32:17Speaker 6: Four games.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Four road games in four years. That was like half
- 32:25Speaker 2: a century ago. I know.
- 32:27Speaker 6: That was not to be like back in my day.
- 32:30Speaker 6: I was just curious.
- 32:31Speaker 2: Because we're old.
- 32:33Speaker 4: Also, we're stating a standard as well. All right, we'll
- 32:36Speaker 4: take a break. More OTB when we come back.
- 32:39Speaker 2: Off the bench.

- 33:43Speaker 4: So many different branches to this game. We hadn't even
- 33:45Speaker 4: talked about Kentucky's first play of the game where you
- 33:49Speaker 4: had multiple guys in the same gap.
- 33:53Speaker 6: Credit to P.J.
- 33:54Speaker 4: Woodland for chasing the guy down and giving you at
- 33:56Speaker 4: least a chance to try to make a stop or
- 33:58Speaker 4: force a field goal attempt or something. But from the
- 34:01Speaker 4: very first play, and this LSU defense was so good
- 34:04Speaker 4: against the run all season long, one of the top
- 34:07Speaker 4: rush defenses in the country. But from the very first play,
- 34:10Speaker 4: it was not sound. You talked about it on offense
- 34:14Speaker 4: for LSU.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Guys blocking air and then a free rusher hits your quarterback.
- 34:21Speaker 4: Throw it to the other side. Anytime you have, on defense,
- 34:25Speaker 4: anytime you have multiple guys in the same gap, it's
- 34:28Speaker 4: not going to go well for you.
- 34:30Speaker 2: I'm just pulling it up right now. Hell, just wait.
- 34:33Speaker 4: If you haven't seen the end zone copy yet. Yeah,
- 34:37Speaker 4: and then TJ gets tripped. He's going to make the play.
- 34:42Speaker 4: He got tripped by his own guy. But again, God
- 34:45Speaker 4: bless you, Alondra. You've got two guys in the same gap.
- 34:48Speaker 2: Yeah, you do. You've got Vonke. He's rushing up the gap. Yeah,
- 34:51Speaker 2: it's not great.
- 34:53Speaker 6: Yeah, there's a couple plays. Devon Key's going to want back.
- 34:58Speaker 2: Yep. I think in this game.
- 34:59Speaker 9: This was at least, you know, first play of the game.
- 35:01Speaker 9: It was a high-effort mistake here. High effort, yeah. Just
- 35:04Speaker 9: a little bit unsound, I'm assuming, by the defensive tackle.
- 35:07Speaker 9: I mean, again, you don't really ever know the scheme.
- 35:10Speaker 9: But two guys in the same gap. And now he does.
- 35:14Speaker 9: They just blocked it well, honestly. They're in the same
- 35:17Speaker 9: gap because they blocked him in the same gap.
- 35:19Speaker 2: They pushed him in there. They weren't trying. And then.
- 35:24Speaker 4: I mean, might as well talk about it while we're
- 35:26Speaker 4: talking about gap integrity and alignment and all those different things.
- 35:29Speaker 6: I mean, the two-point conversion is going to be talked
- 35:31Speaker 6: about for a very, very long time. Nobody in the middle.
- 35:36Speaker 9: And it was something that happened earlier in the game, too.
- 35:38Speaker 9: It was another conversion where they lined up in the
- 35:40Speaker 9: same thing. It happened earlier in the game. I was like, well,
- 35:42Speaker 9: they're checking. It's going to be quarterback draw.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean. Four people in the box.
- 35:47Speaker 6: I think all four of us in the booth said
- 35:49Speaker 6: quarterback draw at the same time.
- 35:50Speaker 2: Like, whatever.
- 35:53Speaker 6: Like, I saw Minchie, like, he saw it. He checked
- 35:56Speaker 6: to it.
- 35:56Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 35:57Speaker 4: And I was like, well, maybe, I don't know, is
- 35:58Speaker 4: Tamarcus Cooley going to run down and then Devon's going
- 36:01Speaker 4: to run back into the box?
- 36:02Speaker 2: Yeah, surely.
- 36:02Speaker 6: Try to disguise a little bit.
- 36:04Speaker 4: And then when the ball is snapped and Devon doesn't
- 36:05Speaker 4: even look at the quarterback, he looks at the receiver.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I'm like, oh. Oh, no, we just didn't see that one. Touchdown.
- 36:12Speaker 6: And then, I think, no, it was green. It wasn't blocked.
- 36:16Speaker 2: It was green.
- 36:18Speaker 6: He got caught up on his block, and I'm like, oh, it's.
- 36:21Speaker 4: The only chance you had was if he fought across
- 36:23Speaker 4: the face and tried to get in that run gap.
- 36:26Speaker 6: But, again, it's not his responsibility.
- 36:28Speaker 9: It would have been a super human play by him.
- 36:31Speaker 9: I can tell you there's a lot of people talking
- 36:34Speaker 9: about Blake Baker and the defense and all that stuff.
- 36:37Speaker 2: And a lot of it's because of that play. I
- 36:40Speaker 2: get it.
- 36:40Speaker 9: You've got a totality of the game to look at.
- 36:43Speaker 9: But that's the one that is frustrating. I can tell
- 36:46Speaker 9: you from– I've never seen anybody install a defense– Where
- 36:50Speaker 9: there's zero linebackers in the box or somebody in the box.
- 36:53Speaker 2: Yeah. That was a mistake. That's a mental mistake. Overreacting
- 36:56Speaker 2: to a five wide situation. Yeah.
- 36:59Speaker 9: There's never, no coverage calls for nobody in the box.
- 37:03Speaker 9: So that defense was not installed.
- 37:07Speaker 6: Right.
- 37:07Speaker 9: Is what I'm trying to say. That defense was lined
- 37:12Speaker 9: up in mistake. Now they need to correct it because
- 37:15Speaker 9: they did the same mistake earlier in the game.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Right.
- 37:19Speaker 2: And he ran a quarterback draw. You have to teach it.
- 37:23Speaker 9: And maybe they did. And everybody holds a little responsibility
- 37:27Speaker 9: in that. But I can tell you, it wasn't a scheme.
- 37:30Speaker 9: Because that is not a defense.
- 37:33Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 37:35Speaker 4: That, I mean, it wasn't just that play in the overtime.
- 37:38Speaker 4: We were talking during the break, the one where Darby
- 37:41Speaker 4: catches it on, I guess it would have been third
- 37:44Speaker 4: and long in overtime. Yeah. I'm watching it pre-snap, and
- 37:49Speaker 4: I see Devon Keyes kind of point to where he's going,
- 37:53Speaker 4: kind of like, hey, I got that area.
- 37:55Speaker 2: And I'm like, all right.
- 37:57Speaker 6: The ball snapped, and I see what Kentucky's trying to do.
- 38:00Speaker 4: And I'm like, oh, perfect.
- 38:02Speaker 6: Like, this is all playing out in my mind. I'm like, well,
- 38:04Speaker 6: Devon just pointed.
- 38:05Speaker 4: I know he knows where he's got to go, and
- 38:08Speaker 4: I don't know why, but he's a step and a
- 38:11Speaker 4: half late.
- 38:12Speaker 6: Like, he's, instead of pushing.
- 38:15Speaker 4: Yes, instead of pushing to where he just said he
- 38:17Speaker 4: knows he's got to go and either at minimum batting
- 38:22Speaker 4: the pass down but probably just picking it off and
- 38:26Speaker 4: ending the game, he waits for half of a full
- 38:30Speaker 4: second maybe and doesn't push, and then Minchie's able to
- 38:34Speaker 4: fit it right over his fingertips. That stuff is frustrating
- 38:40Speaker 4: because you know what you were supposed to do, I
- 38:43Speaker 4: saw you tell the other guys kind of like where
- 38:45Speaker 4: you were going to go pre-snap.
- 38:48Speaker 7: Diagnose it well. And then you just don't go. Then
- 38:51Speaker 7: you just don't go. Those are plays that lose games.
- 38:55Speaker 7: Go make the play. Don't be scared to go make
- 38:57Speaker 7: the play.
- 38:58Speaker 2: Go make the play.
- 38:59Speaker 6: You know what you're doing.
- 39:00Speaker 2: You pointed it out.
- 39:02Speaker 6: Don't second guess yourself. Just go make the play.
- 39:08Speaker 2: Can y'all just check on my well-being throughout the day today?
- 39:11Speaker 8: Okay.
- 39:12Speaker 9: Because I've got to break the film down for our
- 39:14Speaker 9: film study tomorrow. So just check on me every now
- 39:16Speaker 9: and then. Hey, how you doing, bud?
- 39:19Speaker 8: I'm going to put a limit on the amount of plays.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Oh, thank you.
- 39:22Speaker 8: Because I know you're.
- 39:23Speaker 4: Gonna that's why i say we do it before the
- 39:25Speaker 4: show because that then he will not have the ability.
- 39:30Speaker 6: To go full rayman.
- 39:32Speaker 9: This is going to be a tough one for me
- 39:35Speaker 9: to limit the amount of plays because i'm gonna be
- 39:38Speaker 9: again i'm gonna be watching this thing i'm gonna be
- 39:39Speaker 9: picking my plays out to talk about be punching air.
- 39:45Speaker 2: We're going to do it, though. So just give me
- 39:47Speaker 2: this little text every now and then. Be like, hey,
- 39:48Speaker 2: how you doing, buddy? Good. Hey, you control your happy,
- 39:51Speaker 2: not LSU.
- 39:53Speaker 8: Remember what we talked about this morning?
- 39:54Speaker 2: Remember what we talked about. It's going to be fun.
- 39:58Speaker 6: All right. We'll take a break. When we come back,
- 40:01Speaker 6: we'll dive into the chat. That's on me. I hadn't
- 40:05Speaker 6: had it open.
- 40:07Speaker 2: Why, Jake? Are you mad?
- 40:09Speaker 6: No reason. It's like no reason. I just didn't have
- 40:11Speaker 6: it open. I was looking more at some cut-ups of
- 40:13Speaker 6: different stuff.
- 40:14Speaker 1: Oof.
- 40:15Speaker 6: On my computer.
- 40:16Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 40:17Speaker 6: So we'll take a break.
- 40:18Speaker 2: We'll come back.
- 40:19Speaker 6: We'll get to some of your comments in the chat
- 40:21Speaker 6: and we'll do it right here on O2B.
- 40:22Speaker 5: Off the bench.
- 40:23Speaker 8: All right.
- 40:24Speaker 6: Go to FABT.com. FABT.com.

- 41:44Speaker 5: that you've never been.
- 41:47Speaker 3: Off the bench with Hester and Flynn, presented by Bayou Automotive.
- 41:55Speaker 4: All right, welcome back in OTB. Getting to some comments
- 41:58Speaker 4: here in the chat. A lot of people talking about
- 42:03Speaker 4: the defensive third down where everybody lines up in a
- 42:06Speaker 4: line like the old Maryland Eye.
- 42:07Speaker 6: Y'all, that ain't new.
- 42:09Speaker 4: They've done that for multiple years. I'm not saying it's
- 42:12Speaker 4: good or you can love it. It didn't work out
- 42:16Speaker 4: this last one. I didn't hate it. I mean, everyone's
- 42:19Speaker 4: hating on it because it didn't work.
- 42:21Speaker 6: But it's not new.
- 42:23Speaker 4: Blake's done that since he's been the defense coordinator here.
- 42:25Speaker 4: Go back to– what year are we in?
- 42:27Speaker 1: 2026? 2024.
- 42:27Speaker 4: It's the first year we're in. At Arkansas, they ran
- 42:32Speaker 4: it like seven times that game. It's not new.
- 42:35Speaker 2: Again, you can hate it.
- 42:36Speaker 4: I'm not saying do you, but I'm just saying it's not.
- 42:39Speaker 4: Everybody's acting like they haven't seen that before. Now, it
- 42:43Speaker 4: went away a lot last year, but it's certainly been
- 42:46Speaker 4: on tape before. It's 3rd and 10. You're trying to
- 42:50Speaker 4: create confusion. Is it unsound against the run? Yeah, but
- 42:54Speaker 4: it's 3rd and 10.
- 42:55Speaker 9: You didn't expect them to run a counter to the left,
- 42:58Speaker 9: and then the guy ran it right.
- 43:01Speaker 2: I mean, it was unlucky a little bit. And they executed.
- 43:06Speaker 2: You didn't expect counter, though, on third and ten. That's
- 43:07Speaker 2: what I'm saying. I do.
- 43:13Speaker 4: Like, I do wonder if, like, Joe Sloan saw that
- 43:15Speaker 4: and if there was a check. I don't think so
- 43:16Speaker 4: because of the way the run played out. Yeah, if
- 43:19Speaker 4: it had been a different run, maybe. Yeah, I don't
- 43:21Speaker 4: think there was. I don't think I saw it.
- 43:23Speaker 2: He got caught. Yeah. So, indictment on the offensive coordinator.
- 43:28Speaker 2: Shouldn't have run a counter there.
- 43:29Speaker 4: Mm-hmm.
- 43:31Speaker 2: Bailed out.
- 43:36Speaker 6: I had a lot of people talking about 11 a.m.
- 43:37Speaker 1: Game.
- 43:37Speaker 2: That's right. I made an insult to injury. Two in
- 43:41Speaker 2: a row. It's at home now. Auburn's going to be
- 43:44Speaker 2: 11 a.m. too.
- 43:48Speaker 4: I didn't say, Drew, don't be dumb. I didn't say
- 43:51Speaker 4: it was okay. I'm just saying he's done it before.
- 43:54Speaker 4: It's not my favorite thing, but he's done it before.
- 44:00Speaker 4: I literally said that. It's not the first time. A
- 44:04Speaker 4: lot of people are just now noticing it for the
- 44:06Speaker 4: first time, but he's done it a ton.
- 44:07Speaker 9: I don't say a ton. He's done it multiple times.
- 44:12Speaker 9: It's third and ten. You're expecting a drop-back pass, not
- 44:16Speaker 9: a counter. So it's not unsound in like a pass-rest situation.
- 44:24Speaker 9: You make it hard for them to sort out. People
- 44:26Speaker 9: in Vogue was a lot of times like the walk-around defense.
- 44:29Speaker 9: You walk guys around and make it hard to, As
- 44:32Speaker 9: a running back, as an offensive line, it's hard to
- 44:33Speaker 9: sort that out.
- 44:35Speaker 2: I get it. It didn't work.
- 44:38Speaker 6: I said we're going to go to the Saints in
- 44:40Speaker 6: hour number two.
- 44:41Speaker 4: We'll see. There's still a lot of LSU stuff we've
- 44:42Speaker 4: got to get to. We'll get to it all, though,
- 44:44Speaker 4: here on OTB.
- 44:45Speaker 10: Off the bench.
- 44:46Speaker 6: All right, go to Ochsner.org, as we talked about.
- 44:52Speaker 4: Throughout the month of October, it is Breast Cancer Awareness Month,

- 45:17Speaker 4: tool to So go ahead. Early detection is so important
- 45:21Speaker 4: here in these cases.
- 45:22Speaker 6: Go to Ochsner.org.
- 45:22Speaker 9: Yeah, if you're 40 or older and overdue for your
- 45:25Speaker 9: annual mammogram, make October the month you get it scheduled.
- 45:28Speaker 9: And if you have a family history of breast or
- 45:30Speaker 9: ovarian cancer, just make sure you're talking with a doctor.
- 45:34Speaker 2: Make sure it's over there at Ochsner.
