- 0:08Speaker 1: Welcome to The Favorites, the podcast part of the Volume
- 0:11Speaker 1: podcast Network. I am Chad Millman of the Action Network.
- 0:17Speaker 1: We're finally getting close to kick off for the twenty
- 0:21Speaker 1: twenty five NFL season. We're going to begin our series
- 0:25Speaker 1: of preview shows. We're going to lead into our division
- 0:29Speaker 1: by division betting breakdowns that begin at the end of
- 0:33Speaker 1: this month. Before we get to that, Simon and I
- 0:36Speaker 1: always do a couple of table settered episodes to frame
- 0:41Speaker 1: what we think when it comes to a variety of
- 0:45Speaker 1: betting and fantasy topics. Today, we're going to do an
- 0:49Speaker 1: annual summer episode, which always invites snickering and debate. Mainly
- 0:53Speaker 1: the snickering is from Matt Mitchell, who just said that
- 0:57Speaker 1: every year for this episode, I do something that I
- 1:00Speaker 1: think he said that should put me in jail. I
- 1:04Speaker 1: know this year will be no different. Before introduced the topic,
- 1:08Speaker 1: let me bring him my co host, my companion Mike
- 1:10Speaker 1: and Padre might be f professional better. Sigmond head.
- 1:15Speaker 2: Oh, so I am it Chad back from Vegas. How
- 1:18Speaker 2: you doing? Brother? Dude?
- 1:20Speaker 1: Guy in very late last night, not planning on getting
- 1:22Speaker 1: in late last night, and then I sat in by
- 1:24Speaker 1: the way Truman will laugh at the Philadelphia airport for
- 1:27Speaker 1: more than three hours waiting for my connection, and I
- 1:33Speaker 1: flew from Vegas to Philly, and in my row I
- 1:39Speaker 1: ended up sitting next to a very elderly woman who
- 1:44Speaker 1: only had one leg, and I was, you know, it's
- 1:49Speaker 1: like she couldn't leave her seat, so I would climb
- 1:53Speaker 1: over her to get in and out. All good, lovely woman,
- 1:57Speaker 1: great conversation, but she played her Instagram reels on full
- 2:07Speaker 1: blast for the first forty five minutes from the time
- 2:12Speaker 1: we boarded until like, you know, we were connected to
- 2:17Speaker 1: Wi Fi and she was playing it into the flight,
- 2:22Speaker 1: and like that's just a trigger for me, you know,
- 2:26Speaker 1: like people playing their phones at full blast. And I
- 2:31Speaker 1: had to hold my tongue because I didn't want to
- 2:33Speaker 1: be the dude asking a very nice older woman to
- 2:39Speaker 1: please put on some headphones and turned down her phone.
- 2:42Speaker 2: See I'm such a psycho. I would have turned to
- 2:44Speaker 2: it and be like, are you excited about meeting the
- 2:46Speaker 2: Grim Reaper? Because you're about to if you keep listening
- 2:48Speaker 2: to this music at full blast.
- 2:50Speaker 1: I held my tongue.
- 2:51Speaker 2: I was gonna I was gonna ask you if you
- 2:53Speaker 2: did any of the world Chairs of poker stuff. I'm
- 2:54Speaker 2: guessing you were busy. But the whole poker worlch has
- 2:58Speaker 2: a blaze by this guy Will Khalifa, which is basically
- 3:01Speaker 2: what you're just talking about right now, annoying people. This
- 3:03Speaker 2: guy was super loud for about two days. He took
- 3:06Speaker 2: over the internet. I mean, everyone's going crazy right now
- 3:08Speaker 2: the world. She's a poker is the one guy. Luckily
- 3:11Speaker 2: he got knocked out the final tables tomorrow. Absolute legend,
- 3:17Speaker 2: the Grinder, which if you're an old gambler, if you
- 3:19Speaker 2: if you love poker, this guy is the definition of
- 3:22Speaker 2: a degenera gambler. He's like a legend from back in
- 3:25Speaker 2: the day. He made the final table, which is awesome,
- 3:28Speaker 2: and I have a little bet on him. I had
- 3:31Speaker 2: another bet on a guy named Tony Greggs who got
- 3:33Speaker 2: knocked out right for the final table. So yeah, it's
- 3:37Speaker 2: it's been really fun. Honestly, I know you're not the
- 3:39Speaker 2: biggest poker guy. It's you. Obviously you're writing a book
- 3:42Speaker 2: right now. You've got other shit going on. Me I
- 3:44Speaker 2: got nothing going on. So I've just been watching twelve
- 3:47Speaker 2: hours NonStop poker until four or five in the morning,
- 3:50Speaker 2: and uh yeah, it's it's crazy the grinder Man from
- 3:53Speaker 2: back in the day they made it and a woman
- 3:55Speaker 2: made it. First woman make Final Table. Believe she's Spanish,
- 3:59Speaker 2: Margette I believe is her name. She's so good. So yeah,
- 4:03Speaker 2: really really great Final Table. I think it airs to Mars.
- 4:06Speaker 2: So yeah, it's been really fun.
- 4:08Speaker 1: I actually I wanted to go on Saturday. There were
- 4:12Speaker 1: two events on Saturday that I wanted to go to
- 4:14Speaker 1: and didn't get to. But what's weird about this? You
- 4:17Speaker 1: mentioned I'm working on this book and I got there
- 4:20Speaker 1: Friday night. I landed at five o'clock. It was one
- 4:24Speaker 1: hundred and seven degrees when I got to my hotel,
- 4:30Speaker 1: and I immediately turned around and I went out to
- 4:32Speaker 1: dinner speaking of books with Joe Lupo. So old heads
- 4:35Speaker 1: of the show listening forever will know that Joe Lupo
- 4:39Speaker 1: twenty five years ago when I wrote The Odds, was
- 4:42Speaker 1: the bookmaker at the Stardust Hotel. He was one of
- 4:45Speaker 1: the main characters, along with Bob Scucci, who worked for
- 4:49Speaker 1: Joe and Alan Boston when I wrote The Odds. Joe
- 4:52Speaker 1: now is like, you know, one of the most powerful
- 4:56Speaker 1: executives and in Vegas, and he has been charged with
- 5:00Speaker 1: building the new hard Rock hotel that is going to
- 5:03Speaker 1: have the six hundred and twenty five foot guitar in
- 5:07Speaker 1: place where the Mirage used to be, because they just
- 5:09Speaker 1: tore the Mirage down. He went out there, was in
- 5:11Speaker 1: charge of Mirage in order to close it down, and
- 5:15Speaker 1: now they are building the hard Rock there. Joe and
- 5:18Speaker 1: I went out. Joe and I went to Nobu and
- 5:20Speaker 1: we sit down and they're like, hello, mister Lupo, good
- 5:23Speaker 1: to see you again, mister Lupo. I'm like this guy,
- 5:27Speaker 1: he was just some schmuck sitting in the back office
- 5:29Speaker 1: at the Stardust, and now he's got a table at Nobu,
- 5:32Speaker 1: which makes no sense. But here's what's interesting to me.
- 5:36Speaker 1: I've been working on in this book for six months. Right,
- 5:39Speaker 1: it's essentially a sequel to the Odds, Like how has
- 5:41Speaker 1: this world changed? Obviously, Simon, I'm talking to you. There's
- 5:44Speaker 1: a lot of other professional betters I'm talking to. I've
- 5:49Speaker 1: made thirteen trips. I've been to Philly, Lexington, Kentucky, New Orleans, Chicago, obviously,
- 5:57Speaker 1: I've been to New York and New Jersey, Boston, Costa Rica.
- 6:04Speaker 1: First trip in six months of reporting that I made
- 6:09Speaker 1: to Vegas. When I did the Odds, I literally lived
- 6:12Speaker 1: in Vegas for six months. Now it's like you, you
- 6:15Speaker 1: don't really need to even go there. That's how much
- 6:19Speaker 1: this world has changed. It's it's totally totally wild.
- 6:24Speaker 2: Yeah, and I told you that a long time ago.
- 6:26Speaker 2: It's now. There's not many people left still in Vegas.
- 6:29Speaker 2: A lot of them are above the age of fifty.
- 6:31Speaker 2: There are some young blood that like Vegas, right, they
- 6:34Speaker 2: liked that lifestyle. But I would say that was my
- 6:37Speaker 2: favorite part of legalization. I've talked to about this, Like
- 6:39Speaker 2: that day it got legalized, I was out the fucking
- 6:42Speaker 2: door car, packed all my shit, left half my clothes
- 6:45Speaker 2: there because I just wanted to get out of Vegas
- 6:47Speaker 2: and back to Jersey starts setting up. So yeah, it's
- 6:51Speaker 2: some people love the dry heat and they love Vegas.
- 6:53Speaker 2: I need to see trees and grass. It's the Northeast
- 6:56Speaker 2: in me, Like, I can't just be in the desert
- 6:58Speaker 2: day in day out. So yeah, I told you it's
- 7:01Speaker 2: different there though, And that's why I love going there,
- 7:03Speaker 2: because it's like it's a time period and the guys
- 7:05Speaker 2: there are just so old school and so knowledgeable. Anytime
- 7:08Speaker 2: I go to Vegas. It's always a great time.
- 7:10Speaker 1: I had a nice time. I spent some time with
- 7:12Speaker 1: the guys at Circa with Derek Stevens, the owner of Cirka,
- 7:15Speaker 1: and Jeff Benson, who's the bookmaker there. And then I
- 7:17Speaker 1: went to Summer League. I sat with Darryl Morey from
- 7:21Speaker 1: the Sixers, you know who's the president gyam of the Sixers,
- 7:24Speaker 1: Simon greg I watched the whole game with him. It
- 7:26Speaker 1: was phenomenal. At the end of the game, they were
- 7:29Speaker 1: playing Charlotte and they were down by three, and they
- 7:31Speaker 1: had a guy in the free throw line with ten
- 7:32Speaker 1: seconds left, and he made the first free throw. With
- 7:35Speaker 1: Darryl and another scout who he's known forever who we
- 7:38Speaker 1: were sitting with, started having this really interesting conversation about
- 7:42Speaker 1: what the positive ev play was, should he make the
- 7:44Speaker 1: free throw, should he miss the free throw? And to
- 7:46Speaker 1: hear two NBA professionals sort of talk about what is
- 7:50Speaker 1: the right play considering where they were in the game
- 7:53Speaker 1: with ten seconds left, even though it was a summer
- 7:55Speaker 1: League game, and how they think about it. It was awesome.
- 7:58Speaker 1: It was totally awesome. Some of the guys in six
- 8:01Speaker 1: all right, Simon, They did listen. On our next episode,
- 8:06Speaker 1: you and I are going to dig into the Fantasy
- 8:08Speaker 1: preview with Chris Raybunden and Cheer. Today it's time for
- 8:13Speaker 1: our favorite rankings episode of the year that always gets
- 8:18Speaker 1: somebody yelling at me. It's our very official, completely scientific
- 8:22Speaker 1: top ten NFL QB's list and reminder, unlike the silly
- 8:27Speaker 1: lists other experts do, this is primarily based from a
- 8:33Speaker 1: betting point of view, at least for you and me,
- 8:35Speaker 1: and I'll remind everyone to check out the clips and
- 8:37Speaker 1: highlights from the shows that we are doing as we
- 8:40Speaker 1: get into football. Go to my YouTube page at Real
- 8:44Speaker 1: Chad Milman. As we do every summer, we are going
- 8:49Speaker 1: to bring in Rich Reebar aka Lord Reeves on X.
- 8:57Speaker 1: He's going to give us the gut check on our
- 8:59Speaker 1: QUB list. He does a brilliant job analyzing the NFL
- 9:04Speaker 1: at Sharp Football Analysis. Everyone should go pick up their
- 9:08Speaker 1: cop copy of the Sharp Football Analysis twenty twenty five preview.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Warn Sharps sent me my copy, Simon. I've been digging in.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Welcome Rich, Yeah, what is going on?
- 9:19Speaker 2: Guys?
- 9:20Speaker 3: I look forward to this every year. It's you know,
- 9:22Speaker 3: funny you're talking about Vegas. I have two quick antidotes. One,
- 9:25Speaker 3: I'd like to know how much uno you're you're ready
- 9:27Speaker 3: to play? And then I saw that you know too
- 9:31Speaker 3: by My oldest son turns twenty one in February, and
- 9:34Speaker 3: we've been kind of plotting out that, you know, hey,
- 9:36Speaker 3: first week of March Madness will go to Vegas. There's
- 9:39Speaker 3: first trip, right, and he's just like, what what can
- 9:42Speaker 3: I do there that I can't already do?
- 9:44Speaker 2: Like it's the same.
- 9:45Speaker 3: Thing, wow, kind of laid out like it's just like,
- 9:47Speaker 3: oh man, you don't even know, but like he's not
- 9:49Speaker 3: even excited, like not even excited about it. Where you know,
- 9:52Speaker 3: it used to be like such a destination, like it
- 9:54Speaker 3: was such an adult playland, and now he's just like, wow,
- 9:56Speaker 3: I could bet I could bet at home.
- 9:59Speaker 1: God, that is so interesting that he said that.
- 10:05Speaker 2: Got him. So you don't know about the Bunny Ranch clearly,
- 10:09Speaker 2: you know.
- 10:09Speaker 1: You know what's so it's like they used to have
- 10:13Speaker 1: the cars that drove around on the strip, Oh yeah,
- 10:16Speaker 1: with like the billboards.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Yeah of different times.
- 10:21Speaker 1: The escorts that you could call, and then on every
- 10:26Speaker 1: corner they had the kiosks that had like the magazines
- 10:31Speaker 1: with all the ads for every escort and those things
- 10:35Speaker 1: will get littered all over the street.
- 10:36Speaker 2: That's what I was gonna say. That's my memory of it,
- 10:38Speaker 2: just after losing all my money walking to the corner. No,
- 10:41Speaker 2: I don't have any money to get a ride back,
- 10:43Speaker 2: so I got a walk and I'm out there and
- 10:45Speaker 2: I just see it in the streets. All that just
- 10:48Speaker 2: shredded up call numbers. Yeah.
- 10:51Speaker 1: So what's interesting is there's none of that anymore. And
- 10:55Speaker 1: I was walking down Las Vegas Boulevard, and you know,
- 10:59Speaker 1: I was, I want to get an espresso, actually a
- 11:02Speaker 1: double macchiado simon at the Italy that is at the
- 11:06Speaker 1: Park MGM. And there was one little card with like
- 11:12Speaker 1: a woman and her picture and a number, and reminded
- 11:18Speaker 1: me of one of the times I was in Vegas
- 11:21Speaker 1: doing a story about sports betting or something for E sixty.
- 11:24Speaker 1: The producer I was with, uh uh called one of
- 11:28Speaker 1: the numbers on the driving on the billboards on one
- 11:31Speaker 1: of the things, left a message, but left my cell
- 11:35Speaker 1: phone number. Oh god, And for like four days after that,
- 11:39Speaker 1: I'm getting calls from lovely ladies. Rich that could be
- 11:43Speaker 1: your son if he needs If he needs a number
- 11:46Speaker 1: I can forwarded for him.
- 11:48Speaker 3: We got to get these kids outside more. Now, you know,
- 11:51Speaker 3: you gotta get them out and experience life a little
- 11:55Speaker 3: bit more. I'm trying to trying to encourage it, but
- 11:56Speaker 3: I'm still gonna twist the arm and make them go.
- 11:58Speaker 1: That's fucking shameful that he said that. I don't even
- 12:02Speaker 1: know if it deserves to go anymore. Make him go
- 12:04Speaker 1: to fucking New Jersey. He can go to the Meadowlands fun.
- 12:08Speaker 2: It's like one of my old favorite memes. My daughters
- 12:10Speaker 2: get stressed out about going into Wendy's and ordering food.
- 12:13Speaker 2: When I was fifteen, I was taking my mom's car
- 12:15Speaker 2: and driving into Philly, Like it's just totally different worlds
- 12:18Speaker 2: where it's like everyone just very, very different than it
- 12:21Speaker 2: was back in the day. People aren't a crazy thing.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Fucking coddled and lazy, coddled and lazy Rich. Alright, listen,
- 12:28Speaker 1: we're going to go through this, Matt Mitchell. We didn't
- 12:30Speaker 1: actually talk about an order in advance, So.
- 12:33Speaker 2: I'm gonna go last, be the most, uh, the most.
- 12:38Speaker 1: Back and forth was right, why don't why don't I
- 12:40Speaker 1: go first? And then Rich goes next? So then we
- 12:43Speaker 1: can see like how different his than mine? And then
- 12:46Speaker 1: we can get a pressure check from you. So I'm
- 12:48Speaker 1: going to go first. Here was my process. Okay, I
- 12:53Speaker 1: looked at the following stats, just examined how the quarterbacks
- 13:00Speaker 1: lined up ranked in recent memory, recent past. For these stats,
- 13:06Speaker 1: which to me are indicative of they're the most important
- 13:10Speaker 1: stats as you analyze a quarterback. I looked at EPA
- 13:15Speaker 1: expected points added EPA per drop back, which, for those
- 13:19Speaker 1: who don't know that basically just gets rid of a
- 13:21Speaker 1: lot of the messiness when you're examining EPA. I looked
- 13:26Speaker 1: at total sacks, and then I looked at QB pressure rate,
- 13:29Speaker 1: which basically tries to identify when quarterbacks are holding the
- 13:36Speaker 1: ball too long, making bad decisions putting themselves in a
- 13:40Speaker 1: position to be sacked outside of something being the fault
- 13:43Speaker 1: of the offensive line. And then I looked at fourth
- 13:46Speaker 1: down conversion. Okay. Then I asked Claude from Anthropic AI
- 13:55Speaker 1: to give me a list of the best qbs accounting
- 13:58Speaker 1: for the above criteria from twenty twenty five four and
- 14:01Speaker 1: for seasons twenty twenty two to twenty twenty four. Then
- 14:05Speaker 1: I compared all my my my list that I made
- 14:08Speaker 1: to Claude. It was really close. There was a difference
- 14:12Speaker 1: of like one or two. And then I did sort
- 14:14Speaker 1: of a gut check test on who I don't want
- 14:17Speaker 1: or do want it to have the ball in any
- 14:20Speaker 1: late game betting situation. Okay, so are you read? I
- 14:24Speaker 1: got some.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Controversies started, ten, started ten.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I'm starting at ten. I got a listed in ten. Okay,
- 14:29Speaker 1: number ten. Baker Mayfield. Baker was was on the edge
- 14:37Speaker 1: of my list the whole time. And then when I
- 14:42Speaker 1: did all the stuff like he was like to me
- 14:45Speaker 1: nine ten eleven, nine ten eleven, and he was dropping
- 14:48Speaker 1: in and out when I just did it off the
- 14:49Speaker 1: top of my head looking at these stats. And then
- 14:52Speaker 1: when I did it with Ai Baker for twenty four
- 14:56Speaker 1: and for twenty twenty two to two, twenty twenty four
- 15:00Speaker 1: was in the top ten for both, he was tenth.
- 15:02Speaker 1: So that solidified for.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Me, we're locked in chat. We're both Baker guys. I
- 15:06Speaker 2: got Baker at ten two.
- 15:07Speaker 1: All right, fucking a. That was what I was most
- 15:09Speaker 1: worried about.
- 15:10Speaker 2: Okay, I know I'm going to walk and dive into
- 15:12Speaker 2: I'm with you. He was a really tough one because
- 15:14Speaker 2: like all these quarterbacks, people that don't like him, they
- 15:17Speaker 2: can give you good reasons. You can agree with it,
- 15:19Speaker 2: but me, like, I'm agreeing with you. There's a lot
- 15:21Speaker 2: of reasons too, like Baker and the numbers back it up.
- 15:23Speaker 2: And also just watch them play. Anyone who watches them play,
- 15:27Speaker 2: you know that the offense. Yeah, exactly. So I'm right
- 15:30Speaker 2: there with you at ten. All right.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Number nine, This is a little controversial, and part of
- 15:35Speaker 1: what I'm doing here is I'm projecting what I think
- 15:38Speaker 1: is going to happen. Uh. I put Rock Party at
- 15:42Speaker 1: nine pretty again, like he was sort of ten, eleven,
- 15:48Speaker 1: twelve for me, And I put him at nine because
- 15:54Speaker 1: he deserves to be in there based on the metrics
- 15:57Speaker 1: and what I prioritized, but also he was there when
- 16:02Speaker 1: I ran it through AI and I'm thinking about what
- 16:06Speaker 1: my expectations are for him in this upcoming season. Okay,
- 16:10Speaker 1: Number eight, justin Herbert. I like, I'm a little bit
- 16:15Speaker 1: off Herbert. He's so good and so talented, and even
- 16:18Speaker 1: last year he was great and he was in the
- 16:20Speaker 1: top ten for all these things, but he, to me
- 16:25Speaker 1: was sort of on the bubble. Seven. I had Jared
- 16:29Speaker 1: Goff six, I had Jaden Daniels five, I had Jalen
- 16:35Speaker 1: Hurts four, Joe Burrow three, Lamar two, Josh Allen one,
- 16:45Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes. And if you looked at just the stats
- 16:49Speaker 1: and took out any sort of betting metrics, any sort
- 16:54Speaker 1: of historical precedent when it comes to making gambling decisions,
- 17:01Speaker 1: your one, two or three would be Burrow, Lamar, Josh Allen.
- 17:05Speaker 1: In any combination of those orders, just based on the stats,
- 17:08Speaker 1: Mahomes would be four going back to twenty twenty two
- 17:11Speaker 1: if you include all those three seasons. But he's earned
- 17:15Speaker 1: it and he's still going to be a guy who
- 17:17Speaker 1: you never want to bet against, and in fact this
- 17:20Speaker 1: year you might get a little bit of value because
- 17:22Speaker 1: of how it went down in the Super Bowl. So
- 17:25Speaker 1: that's why Mahomes was number one to me on my
- 17:28Speaker 1: outside looking in Stafford eleven, two, twelve, c. J. Stroud thirteen.
- 17:40Speaker 1: To every single metric, he would be up there because
- 17:48Speaker 1: of the offense he plays in You just don't have
- 17:50Speaker 1: any faith in him. You don't have any faith in
- 17:51Speaker 1: the Dolphins, but it's hard to ignore him completely. I
- 17:56Speaker 1: didn't put him in the top ten, even though statistically
- 17:58Speaker 1: he would be in the top ten, probably seventy to
- 18:00Speaker 1: eighty nine, just because of the betting stuff, and because
- 18:04Speaker 1: you know, I have a lot less faith in him
- 18:05Speaker 1: than I do and say Baker or even brock Purty.
- 18:09Speaker 1: So that's it. That's it. Matt Mitchell said he thinks
- 18:14Speaker 1: I should be in jail for some of these things.
- 18:17Speaker 1: I'm there, listen as they say, feedback is a gift.
- 18:21Speaker 1: I'm opening a feedback rich, Rich would you like to
- 18:25Speaker 1: give me some feedback.
- 18:27Speaker 3: I don't have a ton of real pushback, to be honest,
- 18:31Speaker 3: you know, my list has a lot of overlap to years.
- 18:34Speaker 3: My criteria has always been if we were just reshuffling
- 18:37Speaker 3: the NFL and doing like a fantasy draft, these are
- 18:41Speaker 3: the orders I would pick the quarterbacks to win me
- 18:44Speaker 3: a Super Bowl this year, Like, this is the order
- 18:47Speaker 3: that I would take them. And I had a hard time,
- 18:50Speaker 3: like you you know, who is the number ten?
- 18:52Speaker 2: Right?
- 18:52Speaker 3: Like who's the cutoff? Who are we leaving off? And
- 18:54Speaker 3: I had a lot of guys in consideration. Baker was
- 18:57Speaker 3: on my list. It was Baker, Golf and Jorda Love
- 19:00Speaker 3: and CJ. Stroud based on like kind of the criteria,
- 19:03Speaker 3: and I kind of just thought I had I would
- 19:05Speaker 3: have Stroud there based on like the career arc.
- 19:08Speaker 2: So he slid.
- 19:09Speaker 1: Into my ten.
- 19:10Speaker 3: I think that I gave him the benefit of the
- 19:11Speaker 3: doubt that he would played in a tougher conference than
- 19:14Speaker 3: Baker and Jared Goff and has playoff wins in both
- 19:17Speaker 3: of his first two years in the NFL on imperfect teams.
- 19:20Speaker 3: I mean, a ton of wide receiver injuries, offensive line
- 19:23Speaker 3: play has been a question. I just think from a
- 19:24Speaker 3: talent perspective, even though he took a step back last year,
- 19:27Speaker 3: he's still a player in the long run, this is
- 19:30Speaker 3: a guy you still want leading your football teams. So
- 19:32Speaker 3: that's why I kind of just gave him the benefit
- 19:34Speaker 3: of the doubt. But you know, Goff and Baker and
- 19:35Speaker 3: Love were kind of all in consideration there, and like you,
- 19:39Speaker 3: I also have brock Purty nine. I think last year
- 19:42Speaker 3: solidified like the Brock Party like kind of argument for me.
- 19:45Speaker 3: I know that'll never go away, but you know, last
- 19:48Speaker 3: year because the first two year is brock Purty's career,
- 19:51Speaker 3: you know, essentially like, oh, how much is this Kyle Shanahan,
- 19:53Speaker 3: how much is his all his weaponry? Well, last year,
- 19:55Speaker 3: the forty nine ers and fifty seven total plays with McCaffrey,
- 19:58Speaker 3: I UK, Deebo, Samuel and George Kittle all on the
- 20:00Speaker 3: field together with brock Purty. Trent Williams missed seven games,
- 20:04Speaker 3: and brock Purty despite all of that fifteen EPA per
- 20:07Speaker 3: drop back, third and yards for pass him fourth and
- 20:09Speaker 3: success rate, he took the offense and tried to carry
- 20:12Speaker 3: it as far as he could, you know, last year.
- 20:15Speaker 3: So I think he's solidified from a talent perspective, Like
- 20:17Speaker 3: he's not Garoppolo, Like this is a guy that creates
- 20:19Speaker 3: a lot of structure he can create on his own,
- 20:22Speaker 3: and that kind of locked him in. For me, I
- 20:24Speaker 3: have Stafford eight. I just think you just look at Stafford, like,
- 20:27Speaker 3: you know, the two playoff losses, he has the Rams
- 20:29Speaker 3: a one point loss to Detroit, and then last year
- 20:32Speaker 3: they have the ball on the thirteen yard line in
- 20:34Speaker 3: Philly with a shot to win before Jalen Carter wrecks him.
- 20:38Speaker 3: So I mean Stafford still gets the benefit out For me,
- 20:40Speaker 3: I have Herbert seven. I've been the three years we've
- 20:43Speaker 3: done this, I've been kind of like the lone support
- 20:45Speaker 3: of justin Herbert. It feels like I've been the one
- 20:47Speaker 3: that's like tried to keep him, you know, in the
- 20:49Speaker 3: mix here and been supportive of him. Then I have
- 20:51Speaker 3: Jayden Daniels like you, and then I follow this almost
- 20:54Speaker 3: the same more Jane Daniels six, Jalen Hurts five. All
- 20:57Speaker 3: Jalen Hurts does is win. And I know a lot
- 20:59Speaker 3: of people say, like QB wins aren't a stat I
- 21:01Speaker 3: actually disagree. I think over a big course of time,
- 21:03Speaker 3: QB wins do tell you a lot. And you you
- 21:06Speaker 3: go back to college. This dude's had what nine different
- 21:09Speaker 3: coordinators in you know those last you know, ten years
- 21:11Speaker 3: of playing football, thirty eight and four as a starter
- 21:14Speaker 3: in college. Only you know josh Allen Patrick Mahomes have
- 21:17Speaker 3: a higher win rate in the NFL since he joined
- 21:19Speaker 3: Since he joined the NFL, he almost would have two
- 21:21Speaker 3: Super Bowl MVPs. So I'm not I still have Jail
- 21:24Speaker 3: and Hurts. You know, at five, I have Lamar behind
- 21:27Speaker 3: Burrow just for the playoff stuff, right, Like I mean, Lamar,
- 21:30Speaker 3: especially paired with Tom Mockett, has been absolutely scary. What
- 21:34Speaker 3: a scary football player he's been. But again, you know,
- 21:37Speaker 3: one conference finals. Still, you know Burrow's five and two
- 21:39Speaker 3: in the playoffs. You know Lamar is only three and
- 21:41Speaker 3: five in the playoffs. Side, I kind of broke the
- 21:43Speaker 3: tie there uh, and then Alan Mahomes. So like we're
- 21:46Speaker 3: we do have a lot of overlap. So I actually
- 21:48Speaker 3: don't think that you should be put in jail today.
- 21:51Speaker 1: My biggest, my biggest, uh, sort of ins and outs.
- 21:56Speaker 1: It came down really I liked Baker at ten. To me,
- 21:59Speaker 1: it was really about Purty, Herbert Stafford, CJ. Like I
- 22:04Speaker 1: just couldn't figure out who I wanted in those spots.
- 22:09Speaker 1: And with Stafford, I worry about the age. I feel
- 22:17Speaker 1: like he was a little bit off last year. He
- 22:19Speaker 1: gets by on moxie and smarts, and I still would
- 22:22Speaker 1: never want to bet against him. CJ. I probably would
- 22:25Speaker 1: have put in before because I think a lot of
- 22:27Speaker 1: CJ's issues can be rectified with improved offensive line play.
- 22:32Speaker 1: And look, he took a lot of sacks last year
- 22:35Speaker 1: and his pressure rate wasn't great, And I think unlike
- 22:39Speaker 1: other players whose pressure rate isn't great either, like Lamar
- 22:44Speaker 1: or even Patrick Mahomes, they hold the ball for longer
- 22:47Speaker 1: because of their ability to maneuver in the pocket, look downfield,
- 22:53Speaker 1: find open players. I think CJ last year was a
- 22:56Speaker 1: little bit gun shy and was holding the ball a
- 22:58Speaker 1: little bit longer than he should have not because he
- 23:01Speaker 1: can maneuver, but because the offensive line was so bad.
- 23:06Speaker 1: He found himself, right, So that's why I didn't put
- 23:11Speaker 1: him in, like, because if anything's gonna get fixed, it
- 23:14Speaker 1: needs to be that. But I don't know that it
- 23:16Speaker 1: will be fascinating, all right, I don't feel like such
- 23:21Speaker 1: an idiot so far.
- 23:22Speaker 3: Two is the only one that I think you look
- 23:24Speaker 3: at that the the history of just punching up above weight,
- 23:29Speaker 3: like and you guys know this as better. It's like
- 23:31Speaker 3: four and sixteen against playoff teams to a like just.
- 23:35Speaker 1: Yeah, Like, look, two was one of those guys who's
- 23:40Speaker 1: he's never gonna get credit because he's such a stat
- 23:44Speaker 1: machine based on the offense. Right, He's not a guy
- 23:48Speaker 1: who you're thinking you put him somewhere else and he's
- 23:51Speaker 1: gonna win and golf, like, look, Jared Goff he won
- 23:56Speaker 1: with the Rams and then he went to the Lions
- 23:58Speaker 1: and he's won with the Lions. And you could say
- 24:00Speaker 1: Ben Johnson is brilliant. You can say Sean McVay is brilliant,
- 24:03Speaker 1: but he still is executed. And I think he's grown
- 24:06Speaker 1: as a quarterback and I think there's a lot of
- 24:08Speaker 1: belief in what his skill set is and you've seen
- 24:11Speaker 1: what he can do well, and whoever they bring in
- 24:13Speaker 1: will be smart enough to figure out how to put
- 24:15Speaker 1: him in the right position. So I think there's a
- 24:18Speaker 1: difference between like a system Jared Goff and a system
- 24:21Speaker 1: to a.
- 24:22Speaker 3: The difference between golf though any that ties the two
- 24:24Speaker 3: of those is he's never gonna give you anything of
- 24:26Speaker 3: his legs, Like if I need, if I need Jared
- 24:28Speaker 3: Goff to get himself out of a bad play, like
- 24:31Speaker 3: I have no faith in that happening, like you know, athletically,
- 24:35Speaker 3: and that's what that's the one hang up, Like I
- 24:37Speaker 3: need those guys that have the spade that can pull
- 24:40Speaker 3: themselves out of the heart of darkness and would just
- 24:42Speaker 3: get me a football play, right, like you think, like
- 24:44Speaker 3: that Lamar play against the Bengals last year, I touchdown
- 24:46Speaker 3: to Isaiah likely like Jared Goff was never coming into
- 24:49Speaker 3: anything close to that or like that's the thing with
- 24:51Speaker 3: like you know, Josh Allen just like taking over games
- 24:53Speaker 3: and creating these plays just out of thin air on
- 24:55Speaker 3: their own. And that's why I think, but Baker has
- 24:58Speaker 3: that more than golf does, because Baker has like that
- 25:00Speaker 3: wolverine mentality. Real, Yeah, yeah, almost to a fault. Like
- 25:03Speaker 3: it's a baker. You can't try to run that lineback rover,
- 25:06Speaker 3: but he don't care.
- 25:07Speaker 1: Here's what I'm loving about Quarterback on Netflix A Kirk
- 25:13Speaker 1: Cousins and his brother and their friends. I don't know
- 25:17Speaker 1: if you guys have seen the show, but there is
- 25:20Speaker 1: an episode where Kirk cousins buddies from high school and
- 25:23Speaker 1: his brother come to visit and they always try to
- 25:27Speaker 1: dress up in some outfit that makes Kirk Cousins laugh.
- 25:30Speaker 1: And this year they dressed up as some like eighties
- 25:33Speaker 1: dude in you know, some TikTok video. And then afterwards
- 25:38Speaker 1: they were all going to some drive through to get
- 25:40Speaker 1: burgers after the game. And in the front seat you
- 25:43Speaker 1: got Kirk Cousins and his brother, I think they're singing
- 25:46Speaker 1: cher and in the backseat kirk cousins kid is yelling
- 25:49Speaker 1: please stop, please stop, and the brother and Kirk Cousins
- 25:52Speaker 1: are just going longer and longer and louder and louder.
- 25:55Speaker 1: Love those guys. I don't know if Jared Goff and
- 25:57Speaker 1: his wife actually have anything to say to each other.
- 25:59Speaker 1: They seem to have the most sort of uninteresting conversations.
- 26:07Speaker 1: And Joe Burrow is very cool, but also doesn't seem
- 26:10Speaker 1: to have very much to say.
- 26:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I'll say at the top. Kirk Cousins is the
- 26:15Speaker 2: whitest person ever. Like, I literally can't watch him. He's
- 26:18Speaker 2: so white. It's so it's uncomfortable. I get why people
- 26:21Speaker 2: should on Kirk Cousins. It's like him going to haircuttery
- 26:24Speaker 2: getting a fifteen dollars haircut, the whole thing. See.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I think he's so authentically himself, like he doesn't care
- 26:30Speaker 1: sort of how bad he loves.
- 26:31Speaker 2: The course, doesn't care. He's the whitest dude ever. He's like, literally,
- 26:34Speaker 2: when people talk about white people, that's what they're talking about.
- 26:36Speaker 2: He hasn't season his chicken. He is the exact thing.
- 26:39Speaker 2: He kisses his dog open mouth. He's everything people talk about.
- 26:44Speaker 1: You know what, sneaky good singing voice.
- 26:47Speaker 2: I hated Chad's list. You're a very nice rich Chad's
- 26:49Speaker 2: list was painful to me. Pretty above Stafford, I think
- 26:53Speaker 2: you had pretty above c J. Stroud, who's two and
- 26:55Speaker 2: two in the playoffs. So Chad just broke down to
- 26:58Speaker 2: all of you guys, why you can never go by
- 27:00Speaker 2: the numbers. Having two in this conversation makes me want
- 27:03Speaker 2: to rip my hair out. It's I didn't put.
- 27:06Speaker 1: You in the conversation like I'm with you.
- 27:10Speaker 2: Like the from eight to twelve is pretty tough for
- 27:13Speaker 2: me as well. I agree with that part. But I'll
- 27:16Speaker 2: get into mind right here. I did a twelve just
- 27:18Speaker 2: because of that, because I just want to show the
- 27:19Speaker 2: back end of mine. I do want to make the
- 27:21Speaker 2: statement that rich is right. For the last two years,
- 27:24Speaker 2: you guys have both had Herbert in your top ten,
- 27:26Speaker 2: and I have consistently had Jalen Hurts over Herbert, and
- 27:30Speaker 2: I am looking like a genius compared to you two
- 27:33Speaker 2: because Herbert just had four picks in the playoffs. Well,
- 27:37Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts, of course went to Super Bowl. So from
- 27:38Speaker 2: the top, Chad, who is the greatest quarterback to ever
- 27:42Speaker 2: play this sport?
- 27:44Speaker 1: Tom Brady?
- 27:45Speaker 2: Okay? And who's the greatest modern day quarterback playing right now?
- 27:48Speaker 1: Patrick Mahomes?
- 27:49Speaker 2: Okay? And why did you Why do you say that?
- 27:52Speaker 1: Because pack Mahomes has consistently won one what consistently one? What?
- 27:59Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 27:59Speaker 1: The super won the Super Bowl.
- 28:02Speaker 2: So that's that's all I needed from here. That's what
- 28:03Speaker 2: my major point was. My list is based off past performance.
- 28:08Speaker 2: Who deserves me ranked at the top, right, I'm not
- 28:10Speaker 2: talking about the best athlete.
- 28:11Speaker 1: You've got to count down from ten, don't.
- 28:13Speaker 2: The guy gets the most stats. Yeah, I just want
- 28:15Speaker 2: to say my number twelve was Herbert, So I have
- 28:16Speaker 2: Herbert outside my top ten again. And I was really
- 28:19Speaker 2: hard between Herbert and Love at that spot. And then
- 28:22Speaker 2: I do have pretty at fourteen, so that doesn't matter.
- 28:24Speaker 2: So I'm with Chad. I had Baker at ten, and
- 28:27Speaker 2: now you.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Go at eleven. Do you have Loved at eleven?
- 28:29Speaker 2: Uh? Golf? Okay, Yeah, So like the same thing where Jared,
- 28:34Speaker 2: it's the same thing with Stafford. I move him up
- 28:36Speaker 2: because he doesn't have athleticism, Like, he does not have
- 28:39Speaker 2: his legs to fall back on. He is the old
- 28:41Speaker 2: school pocket movement, throwing the ball like that was what
- 28:45Speaker 2: we all grew up up in Love. So it's like
- 28:47Speaker 2: I had a fun. It's like you said, it's tough
- 28:49Speaker 2: at these at these points to fight over it. But
- 28:52Speaker 2: I had Baker above him. Then Daniels I had to
- 28:54Speaker 2: get Danner's respect, like it's it's so hard for me
- 28:56Speaker 2: to put a rookie in the spot. I think last
- 28:58Speaker 2: year we were all the same thing. We all had
- 28:59Speaker 2: seed eight or nine last year. Same thing with me
- 29:02Speaker 2: with Daniels this year, it's like eighty percent of fourth down,
- 29:05Speaker 2: the whole thing. You could not blitz the kid. We've
- 29:07Speaker 2: never seen anything like it. You have to put him
- 29:09Speaker 2: in your top ten for making a list. But some
- 29:12Speaker 2: people having him at number five, that to me is
- 29:14Speaker 2: just insane. It's like you're banking too much on future.
- 29:18Speaker 2: What's gonna happen in the future. So I have him
- 29:19Speaker 2: in nine. CJ at number eight. He had the season
- 29:22Speaker 2: from hell, still made the playoffs and then won a
- 29:25Speaker 2: playoff game against a Chargers team that everyone was blowing
- 29:29Speaker 2: smoke up their ass, especially end of that playoffs. You know,
- 29:32Speaker 2: that was just such a huge win for me because
- 29:35Speaker 2: that team was dead. They were dead. I know they
- 29:37Speaker 2: have a great defense. We're going I mean this upcoming season.
- 29:39Speaker 2: They're probably my third highest rated defense coming to the
- 29:41Speaker 2: season next year, Houston, like they have an incredible defense.
- 29:44Speaker 2: But that playoff win against the Chargers was on CJ.
- 29:47Speaker 2: He didn't keep making the mistakes. That Chiefs game was
- 29:50Speaker 2: much closer than people remember, Like they went to Arrowhead
- 29:53Speaker 2: and CJ had them in a really good position. So
- 29:56Speaker 2: I have to give a ton of respect to CJ.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Put him at number eight, number seven, the man that's
- 30:00Speaker 2: left for dead. I can't believe you guys can't have
- 30:03Speaker 2: him on your list. Dak? What did Dak do to you?
- 30:06Speaker 2: I don't get what happened with Dak. You know this
- 30:08Speaker 2: is one year and Dak is dead to everyone. He
- 30:10Speaker 2: almost went.
- 30:11Speaker 3: He was horrendous before his hamstring injury last year.
- 30:14Speaker 2: I agree, I agree, but it's like I looked the
- 30:17Speaker 2: fourth because the first four weeks is so weird now
- 30:19Speaker 2: with guys not playing in the preseason. To me, that's
- 30:22Speaker 2: the tune up. Like same with Joe Burrow, Joe Brow
- 30:25Speaker 2: did we thought he was not going to last a
- 30:27Speaker 2: week five? I mean, he was so terrible those first
- 30:29Speaker 2: four weeks. Is he just need to get his arm right?
- 30:31Speaker 2: And I think the same with Dak. But Dak, the
- 30:33Speaker 2: hates just gone too far. And I knew as soon
- 30:35Speaker 2: as I put him on this list, I was like,
- 30:37Speaker 2: I bet you, Chad's gonna leave him off. Chad hates
- 30:39Speaker 2: guy's coming off injured seasons. This share enough, here's the show.
- 30:42Speaker 2: I did not have Dak.
- 30:42Speaker 1: I I considered Dak. I bet you did, And honestly,
- 30:47Speaker 1: I know you know, in the coming weeks we're gonna
- 30:50Speaker 1: do a playoff episode where you and I will predict
- 30:55Speaker 1: who we think will make the playoffs from the AFC,
- 30:58Speaker 1: the NFC, and a little foreshadowing here because of Dak
- 31:04Speaker 1: and his return, the Cowboys will be an important part
- 31:07Speaker 1: of that conversation. Dak was was like my final four
- 31:13Speaker 1: were Herbert Purdy, CJ. Baker, Herbert Purty, CJ, and Stafford
- 31:22Speaker 1: for like that nine to eight spot eleven twelve spot,
- 31:25Speaker 1: Baker was always ten. Dak was in there like it
- 31:29Speaker 1: the last guy out of that five.
- 31:31Speaker 2: You've left him for dead and I'm with you on
- 31:33Speaker 2: Dak right. Our big pushback we thought all the time
- 31:36Speaker 2: is Dak is two and five in the playoffs. That
- 31:39Speaker 2: is a big deal. And it was really hard for
- 31:41Speaker 2: me with him in CIG because CJ is two and two.
- 31:43Speaker 2: To me, that's all that Matter's. All this other bullshit
- 31:46Speaker 2: that we've become obsessed with does not matter. Can you
- 31:49Speaker 2: win and succeed in the playoffs, because that's all that matters.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Legacy wise, we started from the top. Tom Brady's the goat,
- 31:55Speaker 2: not because he was the greatest offensive genius ever, like
- 31:57Speaker 2: Payton Manning, it's because he fucking won the playoffs, something
- 32:00Speaker 2: Ayden Manny could not consistently do, and Dak it feels
- 32:03Speaker 2: like a make him break, like people are already forgetting
- 32:05Speaker 2: about him. Like Chad, he just broke it down, like
- 32:08Speaker 2: it's what have you done for me lately? And I
- 32:10Speaker 2: get why that's pushed out on Dak, but I'm I'm
- 32:12Speaker 2: looking at the perspective of last year was a hell season.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Every of the year before that, he usually gets you
- 32:17Speaker 2: twelve wins. He's very consistent, so I'm giving him respect.
- 32:21Speaker 2: You know again, two and five in the playoffs is glaring, though,
- 32:23Speaker 2: And that brings back to my next one, which I
- 32:25Speaker 2: think is gonna shock you. Chad. Number six I got
- 32:29Speaker 2: Joe Burrow. Joe Burrow last year really disappointed me in
- 32:33Speaker 2: many ways. I get it. We can we can make
- 32:35Speaker 2: put all of it on his defense, right, Higgins sitting
- 32:37Speaker 2: out a bunch of games because he's pissed about his contract.
- 32:40Speaker 2: I agree with a lot of that. But me and
- 32:42Speaker 2: you bet in a lot of Joe Burrow games. And
- 32:44Speaker 2: I was locked in a lot of Joe Burrow games,
- 32:46Speaker 2: and we learned early on this dude cannot beat a
- 32:48Speaker 2: team of the winning record. His first win against a
- 32:50Speaker 2: team of the winning record, I believe didn't come until
- 32:52Speaker 2: he played Denver or Pittsburgh thend the season. I think
- 32:54Speaker 2: he won two games against teams of winning records. That
- 32:56Speaker 2: was Denver in Pittsburgh the end of the season. Like
- 32:59Speaker 2: when he played against good teams, he folded that offense
- 33:02Speaker 2: fold And a lot of that goes on to Joe Burrow,
- 33:04Speaker 2: where he beat the shit out of the Panthers. You
- 33:06Speaker 2: want to give him a bad team, bad defense. He
- 33:08Speaker 2: did play really well and that's why he had great
- 33:10Speaker 2: numbers on the season. But to me, he's not done
- 33:13Speaker 2: enough since that Super Bowl run. And you could say
- 33:15Speaker 2: a lot of it is, you know, bad injuries, the
- 33:17Speaker 2: team's not drafted well, they haven't paid the right guys,
- 33:19Speaker 2: terrible defense, offensive line. I agree with a lot of that,
- 33:22Speaker 2: But at the same time, a lot of it also
- 33:24Speaker 2: falls on Joe Burrow, like that team should have been
- 33:26Speaker 2: a playoff team last season and they didn't make it.
- 33:28Speaker 2: He said it so himself. He knows a couple of
- 33:31Speaker 2: those games he just blew. I mean that Ravens game
- 33:33Speaker 2: two sticks out of my mind. That they're up ten,
- 33:35Speaker 2: he's got the ball and just stupid turnover. So that
- 33:38Speaker 2: was the reason I had Joe Burrow outside my top five.
- 33:41Speaker 1: Simon, I am. I have always been on this list.
- 33:45Speaker 1: Joe Burrow heavy to the point where I would put
- 33:47Speaker 1: him above Josh Allen, just Andrew Patrick Mahomes. I thought
- 33:51Speaker 1: I was We.
- 33:52Speaker 2: Both had him at three last year.
- 33:54Speaker 1: I thought I was like pushing it putting him at
- 33:57Speaker 1: four after Lamar, and so you go in to six.
- 34:01Speaker 1: I think is a very bold move.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Because it's again it's based off past performances where it's like,
- 34:06Speaker 2: I agree going forward Joe Burrow. Am I gonna win
- 34:08Speaker 2: Stafford over Joe Burrow? No, but I have I have
- 34:11Speaker 2: Stafford number five because of what he's done in the past.
- 34:14Speaker 2: And you know that Eagles game, he couldn't get anything
- 34:19Speaker 2: going in that snow, he was dead. Anyone else would
- 34:21Speaker 2: have folded up, But that veteran moxie is why we
- 34:24Speaker 2: love Stafford. You give him an inch, he took it
- 34:27Speaker 2: like he literally took that Eagles team to the break,
- 34:29Speaker 2: which was just so impressive. And that whole season he
- 34:32Speaker 2: played through injuries. He willed that team. I think they
- 34:34Speaker 2: had another really bad start to the season and they
- 34:36Speaker 2: didn't matter right the end of the season. I believe
- 34:38Speaker 2: eight and two or eight and three, it's just all
- 34:41Speaker 2: about him and the fact that they brought in Adams
- 34:43Speaker 2: as well. I think we have another really great year
- 34:46Speaker 2: from this. I believe it's his last year on his
- 34:47Speaker 2: contract too with the Rams, so it's it just feel
- 34:49Speaker 2: like it's all lined up for him and I that's
- 34:50Speaker 2: why I put him at number five. It's like he's
- 34:52Speaker 2: got the ring, he's got the years added up, and
- 34:55Speaker 2: you know it's once again he can't use his legs
- 34:58Speaker 2: like these other guys are about to mention. That is
- 35:00Speaker 2: such a big deal for a guy like him. So yeah,
- 35:03Speaker 2: Stafford number five, number four went with Lamar. You know Lamar,
- 35:10Speaker 2: We love Lamar. People think we're big Lamar haters on
- 35:12Speaker 2: the show. We all know Lamar has all the talent
- 35:15Speaker 2: in the world. Lamar also gets a lot of excuses
- 35:18Speaker 2: that someone who's coming up with my list does not get.
- 35:20Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts. You give Lamar Derrick Henry a great running
- 35:23Speaker 2: back that should have been enough to put them over
- 35:26Speaker 2: the edge in the playoffs, and it was, but he
- 35:28Speaker 2: made those mistakes once again. And he is someone that
- 35:31Speaker 2: at this point he's three and five in the playoffs.
- 35:34Speaker 2: That is a big deal. Like this isn't some kid.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Now He's gonna be twenty eight years old this upcoming season.
- 35:40Speaker 2: That's a big deal, right, we have the years at
- 35:42Speaker 2: this point, he's three and five. Lamar's got a breakthrough
- 35:46Speaker 2: because haters like me or I'm just gonna keep getting
- 35:48Speaker 2: louder because it's been profitable fading him in the playoffs,
- 35:50Speaker 2: Like we pick our spots when he's playing against these
- 35:53Speaker 2: not so great teams. He can perform when it's Josh Allen,
- 35:57Speaker 2: when it's Mahomes, Me and Chat already know if it's
- 36:00Speaker 2: under three, we're auto betting that team against him. So
- 36:04Speaker 2: that's that's how the Lamar's got to come out of.
- 36:06Speaker 2: And that's why I haven't at number four because to me,
- 36:08Speaker 2: number three, Josh Allen, he deserves to be number three.
- 36:12Speaker 2: The highest hold on crazyck on this list.
- 36:14Speaker 1: All Right, what's crazy is I'm keeping track of your
- 36:19Speaker 1: list here and I'm counting down after Lamar. I had
- 36:23Speaker 1: already put it in Hurts because I assumed you're number one,
- 36:27Speaker 1: and two is going to be Allen and Mahomes. No,
- 36:29Speaker 1: you just said to me, Josh Allen.
- 36:32Speaker 2: Yeah, because again it's it's based off pass performance. Hurts
- 36:36Speaker 2: has done something that Allen has never done. He's outplayed
- 36:39Speaker 2: Mahomes in a game in the playoffs and won straight up.
- 36:43Speaker 2: That's all that matters. I mean, no one's doubting Josh
- 36:46Speaker 2: Allen has more talent than Hurts. The kid was a
- 36:49Speaker 2: fucking first round pick. Hurts is the second round pick.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Like you know that that stuff. He'll never catch up.
- 36:54Speaker 2: Metric wis right. The body style is just different, but
- 36:57Speaker 2: the mental aspect of it, whatever happens, Josh Allen keeps
- 37:01Speaker 2: getting caught by Mahomes. And we can put excuses right,
- 37:03Speaker 2: blame the coaching staff. The talent's there. They had a
- 37:06Speaker 2: top five on the offensive line last season, he had
- 37:08Speaker 2: a running a running back who rushed for sixteen touchdowns.
- 37:11Speaker 2: He won MVP. There was no doubt that offense. Our
- 37:13Speaker 2: question was that defense. And the defense gave him a
- 37:17Speaker 2: ten point lead with the ball in the fourth quarter
- 37:20Speaker 2: and he didn't live up to it in that moment
- 37:22Speaker 2: against Mahomes and he faltered. And it keeps happening, and
- 37:24Speaker 2: we keep making excuses. Now we're in year twenty, he's
- 37:28Speaker 2: twenty nine years old, so to me. He's another guy
- 37:31Speaker 2: that just needs to step up in the playoffs. And
- 37:32Speaker 2: that's why I have him below Hurts, because Hurts went
- 37:36Speaker 2: over that hump where Josh Allen. You can't say he
- 37:38Speaker 2: doesn't have the talent. He has the talent around him.
- 37:41Speaker 2: It's all on him at this point. So yeah, I
- 37:43Speaker 2: put Josh on number three. Chad already said number two
- 37:47Speaker 2: Jalen Hurts, And I want to do a little exercise
- 37:50Speaker 2: here with Chad. Chad, close your eyes. You haven't won
- 37:53Speaker 2: a playoff game since twenty ten. Your Bears have been terrible.
- 37:57Speaker 2: You draft the quarterbacks, and I tell you, by aage
- 37:59Speaker 2: two twenty six, he's gonna win the NFC twice. He's
- 38:03Speaker 2: gonna go to two Super Bowls. He's gonna be runner
- 38:05Speaker 2: up MVP. He's gonna be an All Pro. He will
- 38:07Speaker 2: win a super Bowl in his twenty six year old
- 38:10Speaker 2: season and be super MVP. Is that your guy? Is
- 38:13Speaker 2: that the guy you want that takes down Mahomes? Is
- 38:15Speaker 2: that your number two quarterback?
- 38:19Speaker 1: I see that and I want him on my team
- 38:21Speaker 1: so badly.
- 38:22Speaker 2: It's rare are So I just want to tell you
- 38:24Speaker 2: these quarterbacks to reach two super Bowls in their first
- 38:26Speaker 2: five seasons, Tom Brady, John Elway, Patrick Mahomes, Ben Roethlisberger,
- 38:31Speaker 2: Kurt Warner. That's a pretty good fucking list to beyond
- 38:34Speaker 2: that famous and like Rich said, all he does is win.
- 38:38Speaker 2: I agree with everyone, Me and Chad. We have stats.
- 38:41Speaker 2: You don't think I have a fucking computer. I can
- 38:42Speaker 2: see his number of people like I got so much hate.
- 38:45Speaker 2: I changed my bio on Twitter to qbs are a
- 38:47Speaker 2: q wins are a QB stat because I agree with it.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Where it's we went too far the other way where
- 38:52Speaker 2: it's like qbs do qbs do matter? Two wins? To me,
- 38:56Speaker 2: it's it went too far the other way where it's like, well,
- 38:59Speaker 2: not all wins are blame the quarterback. Agree, But these
- 39:03Speaker 2: teams have so much talent. The Ravens, for three years
- 39:05Speaker 2: in a row, have a higher grade in almost anyone's
- 39:09Speaker 2: you know, betting algorithm than the Eagles or the Chiefs,
- 39:14Speaker 2: both those teams. I mean, the Ravens keep faltering. So
- 39:17Speaker 2: that's my thing with Hurtz. It's just it's too much
- 39:20Speaker 2: gone the other way where I agree with people, like
- 39:23Speaker 2: there's certain things he does where I'm just like, I
- 39:25Speaker 2: don't trust it. He's not in rhythm things like that,
- 39:27Speaker 2: but in the biggest games, the biggest moments of things
- 39:29Speaker 2: that matter, the only thing we really care about the
- 39:32Speaker 2: end of the day, which is playoff wins and Super
- 39:33Speaker 2: Bowl wins. He's exceeded expectations to the highest level, like again,
- 39:38Speaker 2: twenty six years old to super Bowl, super Bowl VP.
- 39:42Speaker 2: I just think the hate's gone too far one way,
- 39:44Speaker 2: and I'm happy to see a lot of people now
- 39:46Speaker 2: have them back inside their top ten quarterbacks. To me
- 39:49Speaker 2: in this list and being number two, it's just because
- 39:51Speaker 2: of what he's done past performance and going forward, I
- 39:54Speaker 2: think he's gonna keep getting better. Like his ceiling, I
- 39:56Speaker 2: don't think he's reached it yet. We all can agree
- 39:58Speaker 2: he obviously took a step back and let it be
- 40:00Speaker 2: Saquon's team. But you didn't hear too many people saying, Chad, well,
- 40:05Speaker 2: you know, Saquon's only good because that offensive line that
- 40:07Speaker 2: never really happened, right, It was just, oh, this offensive
- 40:10Speaker 2: line helps succeed go higher than you could ever go
- 40:13Speaker 2: before because of the talent level. So that's my view
- 40:16Speaker 2: on Hurtz. People said he wouldn't be able to run
- 40:18Speaker 2: the ball. The sneak QB sneak once Kelsey left didn't
- 40:21Speaker 2: matter because why it's about Hurts. It's not about the center.
- 40:24Speaker 2: It's about the guy who's short, can deadlift five hundred
- 40:27Speaker 2: pounds and he's a freak athlete. So that's my long
- 40:30Speaker 2: winded defense on why I have him number two. Do
- 40:32Speaker 2: I have a rebuttal Rich, I know you're cooking up something.
- 40:34Speaker 3: No, I mean, like I said, I just I think
- 40:36Speaker 3: when you get up into that area, like I don't
- 40:38Speaker 3: really have a lot of pushback. I think with the
- 40:40Speaker 3: top five, I think the back five is where we
- 40:41Speaker 3: probably have our most disagreements, and then you know, the
- 40:44Speaker 3: top five, whatever order you want to put him in.
- 40:46Speaker 3: I think Hurts definitely belongs in that conversation for all
- 40:48Speaker 3: the reasons he said. If you look at last year,
- 40:50Speaker 3: heally had seventy nine dropbacks last year with AJ Brown debout,
- 40:54Speaker 3: they Smith and Dallas Goddard on the field, Like those
- 40:56Speaker 3: guys were in and out of the line up the
- 40:57Speaker 3: entire season, and they still were in position to be,
- 41:00Speaker 3: you know, the one seed, and still in position to
- 41:03Speaker 3: go to the super Bowl. And so like, I think
- 41:05Speaker 3: that Hurts gets kind of a bad flat because I
- 41:07Speaker 3: think it's he's propped up. But they say, like his environment,
- 41:10Speaker 3: like he's just the you know, going along for the ride, right,
- 41:12Speaker 3: like he's.
- 41:12Speaker 2: A bus driver.
- 41:13Speaker 3: But that really wasn't the case last year, especially even
- 41:17Speaker 3: in the playoffs, because sake, I mean, they win that game. Obviously,
- 41:19Speaker 3: the defense has a big part deal to do with
- 41:21Speaker 3: like the way that score got out of hand after
- 41:23Speaker 3: the Dijon interception. But Sequan did nothing in that Super Bowl,
- 41:28Speaker 3: absolutely nothing. Spags said they're gonna take away one guy,
- 41:30Speaker 3: and who's the one guy they took away Squon and
- 41:33Speaker 3: Hurts you know, put them position to have that lead.
- 41:36Speaker 3: They had the ball, you know, he threw that interception
- 41:37Speaker 3: of the two and then that was what the pick
- 41:40Speaker 3: six came right after that, and then kind of just
- 41:41Speaker 3: that game was never in the same kind of you know,
- 41:44Speaker 3: stratosphere of like being a competitive game again. But you
- 41:47Speaker 3: go back three years ago. He was the best player
- 41:49Speaker 3: in the field that Super Bowl too, you know, just
- 41:51Speaker 3: camp short, but he was by far the best player
- 41:53Speaker 3: in that game. So he could have two Super Bowl MEPs,
- 41:56Speaker 3: you know at this point, and.
- 41:58Speaker 2: That's what I'm surpressed with Chad. The moment start too.
- 42:00Speaker 2: I always go back to that Georgia Alabama game where
- 42:02Speaker 2: he sat the whole season behind Tua. Yeah, Tua gets hurt.
- 42:06Speaker 2: He comes in, I believe they're down a touchdown and
- 42:09Speaker 2: he beats Georgia by a touchdown, like came in not
- 42:12Speaker 2: playing the whole season in the SEC championship game, and
- 42:15Speaker 2: that to me speaks to the character of them. And
- 42:17Speaker 2: it's another season that he's a different OC. So what
- 42:20Speaker 2: we see a year from two years ago where he
- 42:22Speaker 2: fell apart right the year from hell at the end
- 42:24Speaker 2: of the season they lost seven to row. Or will
- 42:27Speaker 2: he in this new oc gel like he did this
- 42:29Speaker 2: past year. So it's a big deal and obviously number
- 42:32Speaker 2: one Chad, no doubt about it. Mahomes. I mean, how
- 42:35Speaker 2: can you not have Mahomes? He almost got the three
- 42:37Speaker 2: pet We've never say anything like it. Like you look
- 42:40Speaker 2: at his stats. You know we're early, you can say
- 42:43Speaker 2: we're early days here, but if you look at his
- 42:46Speaker 2: stats against Tom Brady's other great ones, he has had
- 42:49Speaker 2: the better start to his career than anybody else between MVPs,
- 42:52Speaker 2: everything like that. And he's been slept on once again
- 42:55Speaker 2: because of the numbers. Like we all do in the offseason,
- 42:57Speaker 2: we dig into the numbers Mahomes every year his numbers
- 43:01Speaker 2: have gone down, and it's you know, people are gonna
- 43:04Speaker 2: question it, They're gonna throw different things about that, but
- 43:07Speaker 2: I just think it's he just knows. He just guy
- 43:10Speaker 2: has to make it the January. Don't put himself in
- 43:12Speaker 2: these bats and aarios no need to hang on the
- 43:14Speaker 2: ball too long and take these unnecessary hits quick throws.
- 43:17Speaker 2: It's a mainly a running team now, and yeah, they're
- 43:20Speaker 2: a team. I'm really excited to dive into the sumod season, Chad,
- 43:22Speaker 2: because everything I've heard is just kind of been negative
- 43:25Speaker 2: towards this Chiefs team. And you can get them right
- 43:27Speaker 2: now ten to one super Bowl odds. So it's an
- 43:30Speaker 2: interesting year heading into the season. I'm glad all three
- 43:33Speaker 2: of us from Homes Number one.
- 43:36Speaker 1: You rich you think they're going to open it up?
- 43:37Speaker 1: Tell me.
- 43:37Speaker 3: I think when you look at the signal of what
- 43:39Speaker 3: they wanted to intend to do last year versus what
- 43:42Speaker 3: they had to do based on injuries, I don't think
- 43:45Speaker 3: that was the plan right. Like the plan if you
- 43:47Speaker 3: watch them the first month of the season, well, first
- 43:49Speaker 3: hollywo gets hurt in the preseason, and the plan was
- 43:51Speaker 3: never to run this passing game through a thirty five
- 43:54Speaker 3: year old Travis Kelsey, you know, or she Rice goes
- 43:56Speaker 3: down in week four, Pa Checko goes down in week three,
- 43:59Speaker 3: and like the offense kind of just defaults back to
- 44:02Speaker 3: the half the funnel things through this, you know, version
- 44:04Speaker 3: of Kelsey that is a lesser version of Kelsey. You know,
- 44:07Speaker 3: he's still a great player, but like definitely when you
- 44:09Speaker 3: look at Kelsey, everyone was a father. Time comes to everyone.
- 44:12Speaker 3: He's gonna be thirty six this year. This year, now
- 44:14Speaker 3: everyone is healthy coming in. You've got Pacheco a full
- 44:17Speaker 3: year removed from the fibul injury. Hollywood's on track to play,
- 44:20Speaker 3: where Shie Rice is already you know, on on track
- 44:23Speaker 3: to play. He was already participating in OTAs. You get
- 44:25Speaker 3: a second year Zavier Worthy. I think this team's gonna
- 44:27Speaker 3: run a lot more eleven personnel. The offensive line is
- 44:30Speaker 3: kind of the one big question mark. Obviously, you gamble,
- 44:33Speaker 3: you know, you know a player that's coming off with
- 44:34Speaker 3: significant injury in the first round at left tackle. But
- 44:37Speaker 3: I mean that's what fell apart last year. It was
- 44:39Speaker 3: disappointing to see an Andy Reid and Patrick Mahomes led
- 44:42Speaker 3: team really kind of creator in on itself last year
- 44:45Speaker 3: in the Super Bowl based on something that kind of
- 44:47Speaker 3: we knew objectively coming into that game was something that
- 44:50Speaker 3: could happen and an outcome in them to not have
- 44:52Speaker 3: a counter punch dialed up, where just the four man
- 44:54Speaker 3: Eagles pass rush was absolutely oblittering in them and they
- 44:57Speaker 3: had no quick game. But that goes to test with
- 45:00Speaker 3: they had no run game either, Like you know, they're
- 45:02Speaker 3: running their offense the Kareem Hunts out here leading the backfield,
- 45:05Speaker 3: like I think this Chiefs team is, you know, obviously
- 45:07Speaker 3: I don't know. I think we're going to go back
- 45:09Speaker 3: to the peak Tyreek Hill, peak Travis Kelce version of
- 45:12Speaker 3: the Chiefs where they're throwing the ball down the field again.
- 45:14Speaker 3: But I do think that what they wanted to do
- 45:17Speaker 3: last year, they never had a chance to do it
- 45:19Speaker 3: because of the injuries they had early in the year.
- 45:22Speaker 1: So, I mean, I think the biggest difference is, uh,
- 45:25Speaker 1: between me and you and Rich No Herbert for you,
- 45:32Speaker 1: Dak for you? Rich? Can you explain I gave a
- 45:36Speaker 1: little bit of an explanation about why I didn't have
- 45:39Speaker 1: Dak on my list. What are your thoughts on not
- 45:42Speaker 1: including Dak?
- 45:44Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that you know, Dak just the historical
- 45:46Speaker 3: you know, punching up in big games, him coming off
- 45:49Speaker 3: of a significant injury, whereas you know, as hamstring was
- 45:51Speaker 3: basically detached, you know, gonna be thirty two, the rushing
- 45:54Speaker 3: component was already dwindling from his game already. So I
- 45:58Speaker 3: just kind of, you know, ros him out. He's definitely
- 46:00Speaker 3: a guy that I don't think is like I wouldn't
- 46:02Speaker 3: put him like in the bottom dwelling of QBS. But
- 46:05Speaker 3: you know, the baseline, like the way my criteria was,
- 46:08Speaker 3: I think that, you know, he still falls behind those
- 46:10Speaker 3: other players, and then I think definitely factor in like
- 46:12Speaker 3: team context too. It's it's hard to kind of think
- 46:15Speaker 3: get behind the where the Cowboys have kind of headed
- 46:18Speaker 3: right now. The offensive line is worse on paper. The
- 46:22Speaker 3: they do add George Pickens with the backfield looks like
- 46:24Speaker 3: a mess right now, the secondary looks like a mess.
- 46:27Speaker 3: I think, I'm curious, yes, you you're do you seem
- 46:29Speaker 3: like you're a supporter or the Cowboys do. They also
- 46:31Speaker 3: have one of the worst schedules in the league this year,
- 46:34Speaker 3: like they're their team. That terrifies me I and especially Brian.
- 46:36Speaker 3: They hire brought and shot Shottenheimer, head coach, like we're
- 46:39Speaker 3: doing this, like this is what we're doing Cowboys, Like
- 46:41Speaker 3: this is this Like it's just.
- 46:44Speaker 1: A reason why I do like I do like the
- 46:45Speaker 1: Cowboys a little bit. And we're going to talk about
- 46:47Speaker 1: this in a couple of weeks.
- 46:48Speaker 3: But uh, especially in that division, you know, Commander's Eagles.
- 46:53Speaker 1: Uh, I feel like the Cowboys defense could have been
- 46:56Speaker 1: so much better than it was last year, and offense,
- 47:01Speaker 1: you know, because they had so many injuries. They were
- 47:03Speaker 1: down to basically nobody on either side of the ball
- 47:05Speaker 1: of any skill or repute, but not having Micah Parsons
- 47:10Speaker 1: the way they did, losing defensive lineman interior defensive lineman
- 47:16Speaker 1: at a rate that was similar to what was happening
- 47:19Speaker 1: with the Lions on their defensive side of the ball.
- 47:22Speaker 1: So I think that's a little bit underplayed. And there's
- 47:25Speaker 1: so much made about what a horrible decision it was
- 47:29Speaker 1: to hire Bright Brian Schottenheimer and just sort of the
- 47:32Speaker 1: way the Cowboys have generally been mismanaged as an organization
- 47:36Speaker 1: and a roster. But to Simon's credit, I might be
- 47:42Speaker 1: overlooking Dak's ability to influence and paper over some holes.
- 47:49Speaker 1: But to me, it's really about the improved defensive line
- 47:51Speaker 1: for the Cowboys and their ability to disrupt that. I
- 47:54Speaker 1: think people are overlooking right now.
- 47:55Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like they had an easy fix, right
- 47:57Speaker 2: They need to stop the run and run the ball.
- 48:00Speaker 2: There are two biggest weaknesses, no do, no doubt about it.
- 48:03Speaker 2: Last season they could not stop the run. Had the
- 48:05Speaker 2: worst running offense in football. So we'll see if they
- 48:08Speaker 2: addressed that. But yeah, the fact that you know they
- 48:10Speaker 2: keep drafting young studs on the offensive line. Dak now
- 48:14Speaker 2: has a great number two option, Like it feels like
- 48:17Speaker 2: I know they have a tough, tough schedule, but is
- 48:20Speaker 2: lined up from this season where you know they should
- 48:22Speaker 2: have a really good offense and a good defense. So
- 48:24Speaker 2: their team that Chad knows I've been talking about for
- 48:26Speaker 2: about four months now, is just an undervalued team that's
- 48:29Speaker 2: gonna be slept on because you just you're in a
- 48:31Speaker 2: division with a team that won the Super Bowl and
- 48:33Speaker 2: arguably be the best rookie quarterback we've ever seen. So
- 48:36Speaker 2: it just lines up as a better just an undervalued
- 48:38Speaker 2: team that people just it's not fun to bet Dallas
- 48:41Speaker 2: right now, and it's been a run of the publics
- 48:44Speaker 2: like backing them, and they're fans have backed them. Even
- 48:46Speaker 2: their fans are like, I don't know about this team.
- 48:49Speaker 2: So yeah, I'm excited to see what kind of season
- 48:51Speaker 2: they have because, like we just talked about Dak, it's
- 48:54Speaker 2: getting a little late here, brother, two and five playoffs,
- 48:57Speaker 2: Like you guys are making moves at this point. So yeah,
- 49:01Speaker 2: I'm with you, Chad. It's a big year for.
- 49:02Speaker 1: Dallas, Simon. You and I, the big difference is you
- 49:07Speaker 1: have CJ, Dak and Stafford. I did not include those
- 49:13Speaker 1: guys in their place. I had Herbert Purty and who
- 49:21Speaker 1: else did I have there? And Golf that you did
- 49:24Speaker 1: not include. So those are our biggest differences. Herbert and Golf,
- 49:29Speaker 1: for you were on the outside and Purdy was on
- 49:32Speaker 1: the outside. So interesting, very interesting, And.
- 49:38Speaker 2: I will give credit to Herbert if he can, i
- 49:40Speaker 2: mean muster it together somehow win that division, that would
- 49:43Speaker 2: change a lot of my views on him, because that's
- 49:46Speaker 2: just been the Achilles heel for them. They can't win
- 49:47Speaker 2: the division, they're in a wild card game. He goes
- 49:50Speaker 2: on the road in the playoffs and he just gets
- 49:51Speaker 2: his ass kicked like that just keeps happening. So hopefully Herbert,
- 49:55Speaker 2: I know, our guy, our uncle Colin is all in
- 49:57Speaker 2: on the Chargers this season. I am him totally. The
- 50:00Speaker 2: other way. You're getting minus one ten of the chiefs
- 50:02Speaker 2: in that division running to the window to bet that one.
- 50:05Speaker 2: So the books, the public, everyone is in on this Chargers,
- 50:09Speaker 2: this Chargers team in Denver. So yeah, Herbert, I'm with you, guys,
- 50:13Speaker 2: like no one's denying the talent level. We all see
- 50:15Speaker 2: the talent. It's just can you finally step up in
- 50:18Speaker 2: the biggest game, just get a playoff win? Herbert, let
- 50:20Speaker 2: me just say a one next to that too, because
- 50:22Speaker 2: it's it's just brutal seeing that he's just so bad
- 50:25Speaker 2: in the playoffs and we know the talent's there.
- 50:28Speaker 1: Matt Mitchell, can you tell us in the chat which
- 50:31Speaker 1: which decision I made that you felt I should have
- 50:33Speaker 1: been arrested for. Was it rock Perdy?
- 50:39Speaker 2: Oh?
- 50:40Speaker 1: Pretty above Stafford, prety above Stafford as well. Yeah, he
- 50:44Speaker 1: didn't like Stafford to me, was the hardest choice to
- 50:47Speaker 1: leave out. You know, like we have been all in
- 50:52Speaker 1: on Stafford and I would normally put Stafford six or five,
- 50:58Speaker 1: and I just feel like going four word this is uh,
- 51:03Speaker 1: you know, an opportunity for party to vault over. He's
- 51:07Speaker 1: also you know, Matt Mitchell is also criticizing my love
- 51:10Speaker 1: for Tua. To be clear, I was making a Devil's
- 51:16Speaker 1: advocate argument for Tua. I wasn't saying he should be
- 51:20Speaker 1: on the list. I was actually making the same twelve,
- 51:25Speaker 1: making the same point Simon made, which is that if
- 51:28Speaker 1: you just go by the numbers, you would put two
- 51:32Speaker 1: in there. But we don't just go by the numbers.
- 51:35Speaker 1: We go by more than just the numbers. And there's
- 51:37Speaker 1: a difference, a nuanced difference between looking at the numbers
- 51:41Speaker 1: and saying, Okay, this is what it is. Rich backed
- 51:43Speaker 1: me up here as one of the brightest minds covering football,
- 51:47Speaker 1: or just saying, hey, there's a lot of things that
- 51:50Speaker 1: come into play here.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Well, I think that was the kind of the case
- 51:53Speaker 3: we're perty in Tua. Right when you compare the two,
- 51:56Speaker 3: you know, how much was was it this this player,
- 51:59Speaker 3: this core back versus kind of the system? And we
- 52:02Speaker 3: saw some things kind of fall apart in Miami last year,
- 52:05Speaker 3: and you know, Tua didn't play as good as football,
- 52:08Speaker 3: whereas everything fell apart from the forty nine ers and
- 52:10Speaker 3: brock Perty still played really good football. That's why I
- 52:14Speaker 3: think it solidifies, especially the loss of Christian McCaffrey. I mean,
- 52:17Speaker 3: you look at last year. Only forty nine percent of
- 52:20Speaker 3: Party's dropbacks last year came with the middle of the
- 52:22Speaker 3: field closed. You know, your single high safeties, right, because
- 52:24Speaker 3: they didn't have to respect the run the first two
- 52:26Speaker 3: years of his career fifty nine point nine percent sixty
- 52:29Speaker 3: and a half percent. Because teams had to respect Christian McAffrey.
- 52:31Speaker 3: The Christan McCaffrey was in the field, teams were like,
- 52:33Speaker 3: all right, brock Purty beat us. And you know what
- 52:35Speaker 3: he did, throws ten yards a further downfield led the
- 52:38Speaker 3: league in completion rate over ten percent higher than the
- 52:42Speaker 3: league average. Like this again, all these wide receivers were hurt.
- 52:46Speaker 3: I think Perdy kind of solidified that, like he's not
- 52:49Speaker 3: just a product of Kyle Shanahan. I think that last
- 52:52Speaker 3: year he answered those questions. That's why when you compare
- 52:54Speaker 3: the two, I think that Party gets the definite edge
- 52:57Speaker 3: over to A.
- 53:00Speaker 1: I wasn't even considering Tua. What I feel like this
- 53:04Speaker 1: is because you deserve.
- 53:06Speaker 2: To be bashed. You're the two guy. Now happened?
- 53:11Speaker 1: I love to I don't have to tell you I
- 53:13Speaker 1: just think he's fantastic, Uh, Rich Riebar at Lord Reeves

- 53:22Speaker 1: It is outstanding. Rich has two great stories up right now.
- 53:25Speaker 1: One his consistent positional tears, which are great especially relevant
- 53:32Speaker 1: for fantasy, but also a breakdown of some of the
- 53:36Speaker 1: trends we saw last year, specifically related to kick off
- 53:40Speaker 1: returns and how that impacted scoring. It was a very
- 53:43Speaker 1: high scoring year with a lot of records broken, and
- 53:45Speaker 1: how we might be able to glean something new for
- 53:48Speaker 1: this year from what happened last year. Rich, thanks for
