  Speaker 1: people from Almaha, some people from Minneapolis, and people from

  Speaker 1: Sioux City. And we've been had a couple of comics

  Speaker 1: from Michigan, of comics from Kansas City again, a lot

  Speaker 1: of very very funny comics. And up until we started

  Speaker 1: doing this in February, that hasn't really been comedy at

  Speaker 1: Billy Frogs in a long time. But there was something

  Speaker 1: a while back that you know of, Is that right?

  Speaker 2: I do know of I've done comedy at Billy Frogs.

  Speaker 2: It was over sixteen years ago.

  Speaker 1: Well, I am so excited that we brought comedy back.

  Speaker 1: It's every Thursday night at Billy Frogs. The comedy is free.

  Speaker 1: It is at seven thirty pm and we go till

  Speaker 1: about eight thirty eight forty five whenever we get done,

  Speaker 1: nine o'clock they have karaoke. That's what they're known for

  Speaker 1: at Billy Frogs. And Nathan, are you a singer? Do

  Speaker 2: I enjoy singing. Yet, well we'll we'll have no one else.

  Speaker 2: Does no one else enjoyed singing? But I really enjoy it.

  Speaker 1: It is a whole lot of fun. Well, let's talk

  Speaker 1: a little bit about your comedy career because you've been

  Speaker 1: doing this for a little bit now, and you're not

  Speaker 1: an old guy by any means, but you've been doing
• 1:56
  Speaker 1: comedy for like over half of your life, haven't you.

  Speaker 2: Ye, uh, just under half my life. I suppose I
• 2:03
  Speaker 2: was rounding right, So now eighteen years so I'm I'm
• 2:08
  Speaker 2: eventually that will that'll even out world. I have done
• 2:11
  Speaker 2: it half my life, that is.

  Speaker 1: So now we know John is not good at English

  Speaker 1: or math. So John is not good at those twos.

  Speaker 1: you've been doing this for a long long time, and

  Speaker 1: a lot of folks and who falls know the name

  Speaker 1: Nathan Halson, it's synonymous with comedy. You've been doing this
• 2:33
  Speaker 1: for a whole long time. What got you interested in
• 2:35
  Speaker 1: doing comedy in the first place? I don't know if
• 2:37
  Speaker 1: I've ever asked you that.

  Speaker 2: Before I grew up loving stand comedy we got when
• 2:44
  Speaker 2: Comedy Central came out, it was like a whole world
• 2:49
  Speaker 2: opened up, right. I've always loved telling jokes, making people
• 2:53
  Speaker 2: laugh and stuff like that. I was kind of a
• 2:54
  Speaker 2: goofy kid. My dad specifically was always kind of a jokester,

  Speaker 2: you know, he was always always laughing, and so I
• 3:04
  Speaker 2: don't know, it just it's just always kind of been
• 3:06
  Speaker 2: a thing like I did whose line is It Anyway?

  Speaker 2: For a long time improv style whose line is it anyway?

  Speaker 2: Kind of thing. And in college that's I studied that
• 3:18
  Speaker 2: for a while and then I was like, oh I
• 3:21
  Speaker 2: could I could do stand up too, and so I
• 3:24
  Speaker 2: studied that. I took an independent study in college and
• 3:28
  Speaker 2: that's that's where when I started.

  Speaker 1: And again in the suit Falls area. You've been doing

  Speaker 1: this for a long long time, and many people who
• 3:36
  Speaker 1: know comedy and Seue Falls definitely know Nathan Halls. And

  Speaker 1: I am so excited to have you back at Billy Frogs.

  Speaker 1: You helped us kick this off back in February, and

  Speaker 1: I'm so excited to have you on the stage with

  Speaker 1: us again tonight at seven thirty at Billy Frogs.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, it's gonna be super fun. Jen Swall is super great.

  Speaker 2: As well as a wonderful host of a popular radio show,

  Speaker 2: he is also a fantastic to me even storytelling.

  Speaker 1: Sioux Falls have a comedy club? And you know, we've

  Speaker 1: had comedy clubs come and go, and you know, we

  Speaker 1: don't have a comedy club here right now, but we

  Speaker 1: have a group of people who are putting on comedy
• 4:27
  Speaker 1: shows all the time. You have a regular show at

  Speaker 1: Trio that you do? Is that once a month?

  Speaker 2: Yeah, every last Wednesday of the month during the fall, spring,
• 4:36
  Speaker 2: and winter. We take the summer off because everybody, you know,
• 4:40
  Speaker 2: we want the summer off as well. And but yeah,
• 4:45
  Speaker 2: it's it's live comedy with a backing band, so there
• 4:50
  Speaker 2: is a band on stage the entire time. Is absolutely
• 4:53
  Speaker 2: a fantastic show.

  Speaker 1: It is such a fun show. And I was honored
• 4:57
  Speaker 1: to be on the final show of the season this year.

  Speaker 1: Hear a bunch of local comics on that show with you,

  Speaker 1: and it was so much fun. And again I'm excited

  Speaker 1: for that to be back, and I know you take

  Speaker 1: the summer's office and be back in the fall. But again,
