- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome back to the Mark Simone Show. Well, as I mentioned,
- 0:12Speaker 1: FBI has arrested four terrorists, a radical pro Palestinian terrorists.
- 0:17Speaker 1: They're accused of plotting New Year's Eve bombings. Now it's
- 0:20Speaker 1: La it's not New York. Identified as members of the
- 0:25Speaker 1: Turtle Island Liberation Front, whatever the hell that is. But
- 0:28Speaker 1: they're Muslim terrorists. They're radical pro Palestinestinian extremist group plotting
- 0:35Speaker 1: New Year's Eve bombings for Los Angeles. The FBI has
- 0:38Speaker 1: caught them. You know, Paris is not really Paris anymore.
- 0:43Speaker 1: They same problem, open borders, illegals flooding in and these
- 0:49Speaker 1: migrants have created terror all over Paris. And every year
- 0:53Speaker 1: in Paris they have an incredible New Year's Eve celebration
- 0:56Speaker 1: on the Chanz Oflyse. It's like our Times Square kind
- 0:58Speaker 1: of celebration where like a million people will show up.
- 1:02Speaker 1: They've canceled this year's celebration. Usually a million people show up.
- 1:06Speaker 1: They have concerts and all this stuff. They've canceled because
- 1:10Speaker 1: of the migrant crisis in Paris. There's too much crime,
- 1:13Speaker 1: too much terrorism. And instead they're going to have a
- 1:17Speaker 1: pre recorded video that people can watch from home. They
- 1:21Speaker 1: don't want people showing up, so they've had to cancel
- 1:24Speaker 1: their New Year's Eve traditions in Paris. They'll still have
- 1:27Speaker 1: the fireworks over the Arcta Triumph when it's midnight, but
- 1:33Speaker 1: they don't want anybody there in person enough to watch
- 1:35Speaker 1: that on television as well, so it's just not the same.
- 1:41Speaker 1: The Chans of Lyse, the most beautiful boulevard in the world,
- 1:45Speaker 1: because of all the illegals, all the illegal migrants, has
- 1:50Speaker 1: been a center of violence lately. Throngs of young Muslim
- 1:55Speaker 1: migrants streaming in at night looking for trouble, looting stores,
- 2:01Speaker 1: brawling with Parisians and police. This is Paris, it's not
- 2:07Speaker 1: the parish you once knew. Again illegal migrants have destroyed Paris.
- 2:11Speaker 1: It's just awful. So nothing new on Rob Reiner since
- 2:15Speaker 1: the last hour. At some point there'll be a press
- 2:18Speaker 1: conference with the LA Police and they'll announce things. But
- 2:22Speaker 1: remember it's three hours earlier there, so I imagine that
- 2:25Speaker 1: press conference won't happen for another hour or two. What
- 2:28Speaker 1: we do know is it looks like his son stabbed
- 2:32Speaker 1: him and his wife slit their throats. The son, who's
- 2:37Speaker 1: just a very, very very troubled kid years of drugs, alcohol,
- 2:40Speaker 1: mental craziness, homeless, has been taken into custody. He's thirty two.
- 2:50Speaker 1: Reiner has three kids with the wife, but with his
- 2:53Speaker 1: previous wife, his first wife, Penny Marshall, he had a
- 2:57Speaker 1: daughter and the daughter lived on the property in the
- 2:59Speaker 1: guest house. Well heard incredible arguing, screaming, and at some
- 3:03Speaker 1: point went over to check and found them both dead.
- 3:06Speaker 1: Called police and they she said, you got to look
- 3:10Speaker 1: at him. She said she believed it was him the sun.
- 3:14Speaker 1: So they've taken him into custody. We'll see what happens there.
- 3:19Speaker 1: Brown University. They did have a shooter in custody, but
- 3:23Speaker 1: they've since let him go. It's the Providence police department.
- 3:29Speaker 1: We love Providence, but it's not the sharpest police department
- 3:31Speaker 1: in the world. And we'll see. And now again it
- 3:35Speaker 1: may not be anti semitism. If this could be an
- 3:37Speaker 1: anti Republican shooting, it looks like this small group of
- 3:40Speaker 1: people all they were also the conservative group on campus.
- 3:44Speaker 1: One of the people shot, the student was the head
- 3:46Speaker 1: of the Republican club there. So we'll see what it
- 3:50Speaker 1: turns out to be. But the Rob Reiner situation, that's
- 3:54Speaker 1: Brentwood and Brentwood is actually part of Los Angeles, but
- 3:59Speaker 1: they try to act they're a suburb. They don't really
- 4:01Speaker 1: want to be part of Los Angeles. They formed their
- 4:03Speaker 1: own town council, they have their own little police department,
- 4:06Speaker 1: but Brentwood is a part of Los Angeles, so it's
- 4:09Speaker 1: really Lapd in charge of that Brentwood. Yeah, where Oj
- 4:13Speaker 1: stabbed the wife and Ron Goldman, it's only a mile
- 4:17Speaker 1: and a half from Rob Reiner's house. So if you
- 4:18Speaker 1: live in the middle there, twice you've had these awful
- 4:22Speaker 1: stabbings for people's throats were slit on either side of you.
- 4:26Speaker 1: It's a terrible situation. What else Frank Sinatra number one
- 4:34Speaker 1: on the Billboard charts? How about that Frank Sinatra. It's
- 4:39Speaker 1: actually nineteen sixty one. He recorded I've Got My Love
- 4:43Speaker 1: to Keep Me Warm. It's a great song and it's
- 4:46Speaker 1: sort of become a Christmas song and it gets played
- 4:48Speaker 1: at Christmas time. So Pentatonics got the master tapes where
- 4:55Speaker 1: you can isolate just Sinatra's voice. His recording has as
- 5:00Speaker 1: a beautiful big band, you know, Johnny Mandel arrangement, but
- 5:04Speaker 1: they isolated just his voice, took just his voice and
- 5:07Speaker 1: they did a whole new arrangement, a whole new single,
- 5:10Speaker 1: and it's It was number one last week on the
- 5:12Speaker 1: Adult Contemporary chart. They still have that Adult Contemporary chart.
- 5:19Speaker 1: So it's the first number one hit single for Frank
- 5:23Speaker 1: Sinatra since nineteen sixty seven. No, it wasn't something stupid.
- 5:31Speaker 1: That was nineteen sixty six. Sinatra's last number one was
- 5:34Speaker 1: The World We Knew. It was a hit single Forgotten
- 5:38Speaker 1: About Go back and listen. That's pretty good Sinatra single,
- 5:41Speaker 1: The World We Knew, and that was a number one
- 5:46Speaker 1: hit single for him September of sixty seven, So that
- 5:49Speaker 1: was his last hit single, That's I Think me Yeah.
- 5:54Speaker 1: It's the all time record fifty eight years in between
- 5:57Speaker 1: number one hits. The previous record had been Elton John
- 6:01Speaker 1: who went twenty three years between hit singles. Now one
- 6:05Speaker 1: was one of his own hits, and then the other
- 6:06Speaker 1: one was one of those duet kind of deals with
- 6:09Speaker 1: Ed Sheeran and again a Christmas song. So Sinatra's a
- 6:12Speaker 1: new record fifty eight years between number one hits. And
- 6:15Speaker 1: also this has got to be the all time record.
- 6:18Speaker 1: Sinatra's first number one hit single was nineteen forty with
- 6:25Speaker 1: Tommy Dorsey. I'll Never smile again. He was his first
- 6:27Speaker 1: hit single. It's kind of the song that really put
- 6:29Speaker 1: him on the map. So nineteen forty to now is
- 6:33Speaker 1: eighty five years. So that's an all time record. A
- 6:36Speaker 1: guy has a hit single number one on the chart
- 6:39Speaker 1: and he's number one in the chart eighty five years later.
- 6:41Speaker 1: This first time that's ever happened. Sinatra, I remember, had
- 6:44Speaker 1: the longest career of anybody. When he started singing. Herbert
- 6:50Speaker 1: Hoover was president. When he stopped singing, Bill Clinton was president.
- 6:54Speaker 1: That's a long long career. He also made, let me
- 7:00Speaker 1: think now, about one hundred albums. That's not the record,
- 7:05Speaker 1: Ella Fitzgerald one hundred and sixty six albums, Bing Crosby
- 7:10Speaker 1: two hundred albums, or the equivalent of two hundred albums.
- 7:12Speaker 1: Crosby holds the record for the largest output recording wise.
- 7:17Speaker 1: So you got to hey, I forgot to mention this.
- 7:21Speaker 1: You got the Epstein photos that came out. Remember on Friday,
- 7:25Speaker 1: they tried to you know, they're always trying to get Trump,
- 7:27Speaker 1: so they put out a photo of him with six girls,
- 7:31Speaker 1: young girls, you know, with the face was blacked out. Well,
- 7:35Speaker 1: it turned out this is the Democrats on the House Committee.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Look at this not only with young girls, there's six
- 7:41Speaker 1: of them surrounding him. Well, it turns out the whole
- 7:44Speaker 1: thing was fake. You can always count on Democrats MSNBC, CNN,
- 7:49Speaker 1: New York Times to fake everything because somebody came up
- 7:53Speaker 1: with the original picture without the faces blacked out. And
- 7:56Speaker 1: they're clearly not young girls. They're adults, all adults. And
- 8:01Speaker 1: it turns out it was a beauty pageant being held
- 8:04Speaker 1: at mar A Lago. They were all professional adult models.
- 8:09Speaker 1: It was a big promotion for Hawaiian Tropic Sun Tan lotion.
- 8:14Speaker 1: The party and the beauty pageant held at mar Alago.
- 8:17Speaker 1: Trump shows up, takes a picture with all the models
- 8:20Speaker 1: in the beauty pageant, the fashion show, and that's what
- 8:23Speaker 1: it was. It wasn't young girls. The picture totally fake,
- 8:26Speaker 1: ridiculous And that tells you all you need to know
- 8:30Speaker 1: about Democrats and Epstein and all this stuff. So, oh,
- 8:37Speaker 1: Saturday had the Army Navy game. President Trump tradition now
- 8:41Speaker 1: comes to the Army Navy game, walks on the field,
- 8:44Speaker 1: standing ovation the crowd, cheering USA USA. You never hear
- 8:49Speaker 1: that with a democratic president. They don't like to cheer that.
- 8:53Speaker 1: But it was very upsetting. The Democrats watching this very upsetting.
- 8:57Speaker 1: They don't like any of this. They don't like football,
- 8:59Speaker 1: they don't like cheering and chanting USA, they don't like
- 9:03Speaker 1: any of this stuff. So it really really upset them.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Harry to term of this last hour. Tourists are all
- 9:09Speaker 1: over in New York. If you don't think New York's
- 9:11Speaker 1: doing well, try to get a hotel room right now
- 9:14Speaker 1: in New York City. It is impossible. It's impossible. There's
- 9:17Speaker 1: no hotel rooms left in New York City. Everybody wants
- 9:21Speaker 1: to come here, even with Mom Donnie elected. Tourists are
- 9:23Speaker 1: coming in unbelievable numbers. Also, real estate sales are very,
- 9:29Speaker 1: very very strong. Don't listen to this. Everybody's leaving New York.
- 9:34Speaker 1: Nine hundred and seventy six closings real estate closings in
- 9:37Speaker 1: the last month. Now, if you go to the super
- 9:40Speaker 1: high end departments, there were nine closings last week, contracts closings.
- 9:44Speaker 1: That's a big number. That's a lot for one week.
- 9:47Speaker 1: So sales are really strong, and the rental market is
- 9:52Speaker 1: going crazy. You're gonna have a lot of trouble renting
- 9:54Speaker 1: apartment right now in New York. People are moving in
- 9:56Speaker 1: like crazy rentals. That's a good indicator to study. Rentals
- 10:03Speaker 1: are the people first coming to New York, first coming here,
- 10:06Speaker 1: and many rentals next year turn into buyers. They'll come here,
- 10:09Speaker 1: rent for a year or two and then they'll start buying.
- 10:11Speaker 1: But rentals are through the roof. It's almost impossible to
- 10:15Speaker 1: rent anything right now. So New York doing very very
- 10:19Speaker 1: well the Christmas season. Tourists are everywhere. It's Christmas, and
- 10:25Speaker 1: I remember you may be gift shopping, but for yourself.
- 10:30Speaker 1: Don't buy anything right now. Don't buy anything. Don't buy
- 10:34Speaker 1: any clothes right now. Don't buy anything right now, because
- 10:38Speaker 1: right after Christmas, everything's going to be half price. So
- 10:41Speaker 1: I become like Robert de Niro and Goodfellows yelling anyway,
- 10:44Speaker 1: don't buy anything. What I say, don't what I tell you.
- 10:46Speaker 1: Don't buy anything? Did I tell you? Don't buy anything
- 10:49Speaker 1: right now? It's all going to be half pricing. If
- 10:51Speaker 1: you wait till after New Year's it's going to be
- 10:53Speaker 1: seventy five percent off. So don't buy anything right now. Hey,
- 10:59Speaker 1: you know all the great supermarkets, Wegmans, they're all over
- 11:02Speaker 1: the place, Whole Foods. Whole Food's not so much anymore.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Quality went down there once Bezos took it over I
- 11:08Speaker 1: think deliberately. Uh, but remember Whole Foods. All of a
- 11:13Speaker 1: sudden it went back to I guess it was the nineties.
- 11:16Speaker 1: All of a sudden Whole Foods opened everywhere is an
- 11:18Speaker 1: unbelievable supermarket beyond anything you'd ever seen. Now, they were
- 11:23Speaker 1: from Texas. It was a Texas supermarket. They opened a couple,
- 11:26Speaker 1: then they went national. They became huge. And Wegmans. I
- 11:30Speaker 1: forget where they're from. They're from someplace Wegmans Colorado or something.
- 11:33Speaker 1: I don't know, but Wegmans that were very good. Then
- 11:36Speaker 1: they opened a couple. Next thing you know, they went national.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Now when you get a Wegman's, it's exciting. There's one
- 11:40Speaker 1: in New Jersey's had them for a while, but you
- 11:43Speaker 1: just got one couple of years ago in Westchester. You
- 11:46Speaker 1: just got one in Connecticut. So they've exploded. They're all
- 11:51Speaker 1: over America. Now. The next one to watch out for
- 11:54Speaker 1: is Uncle Giuseppees. Uncle Giuseppes is going to just remember
- 11:57Speaker 1: you heard it here first. This is gonna be the
- 11:59Speaker 1: big national phenomenon. If you live in Long Island, you
- 12:03Speaker 1: don't even me to tell you about Uncle Giuseppes. There's
- 12:06Speaker 1: a bunch of them all over Long Island. There's spectacular.
- 12:08Speaker 1: It's like the Italian Wegmans. Lots of Italian stuff, but
- 12:12Speaker 1: the prepared foods everything. So there's a big article in
- 12:15Speaker 1: the paper today about Uncle Giuseppe's going all out for Christmas.
- 12:19Speaker 1: Not just decorations like crazy all over their stores. But
- 12:22Speaker 1: they got carolers, they got singers singing Christmas songs right
- 12:25Speaker 1: in the store. They're all over Long Island. The best
- 12:30Speaker 1: one's Melville. I think that's where the family lives. Great,
- 12:33Speaker 1: great family, very smart people that run this. So there's
- 12:36Speaker 1: one in not a big one, but there's a smaller
- 12:38Speaker 1: one in Yorktown Heights. There's a bunch of them. I
- 12:42Speaker 1: think they're all over Long I think there's one in
- 12:44Speaker 1: New Jersey. But watch this will be the next big
- 12:46Speaker 1: national chain. They got twelve of them already. I see
- 12:49Speaker 1: them looking for other locations. But they're phenomenal, So keep
- 12:52Speaker 1: an eye on them. They'll be the next big national
- 12:56Speaker 1: chain that explodes everywhere. So when hey, once again, I
- 13:01Speaker 1: went to a million Christmas parties yesterday, people everybody will
- 13:04Speaker 1: say to you, what's gonna happen to midterms. Who's going
- 13:06Speaker 1: to win the mid terms? How are we going to
- 13:07Speaker 1: do in the midterms, What's going to happen that. Don't
- 13:09Speaker 1: listen to anybody right now. This is impossible to predict.
- 13:15Speaker 1: If you said, who's going to be in the super Bowl,
- 13:18Speaker 1: maybe a good sports expert could give you a good guess.
- 13:21Speaker 1: But if you said to the greatest sports expert, who's
- 13:24Speaker 1: going to win the super Bowl in twenty twenty seven,
- 13:28Speaker 1: they can't tell you. There's no way to know that now.
- 13:30Speaker 1: Same thing with the midterms. Don't listen to anybody's prediction
- 13:34Speaker 1: right now. It means absolutely nothing. Everything is going to
- 13:38Speaker 1: change six months from now. You'll be in a whole
- 13:40Speaker 1: different world landscape. These predictions mean absolutely nothing. Same thing is,
- 13:48Speaker 1: when they tell you who's going to win in twenty
- 13:50Speaker 1: twenty eight, who's going to run? You can't tell now.
- 13:53Speaker 1: It's impossible. Now, if you're watching fake news, you'll see
- 13:56Speaker 1: all these polls, all these studies that the Democrats are
- 14:00Speaker 1: definitely going to win the mid terms. Look at this poll,
- 14:02Speaker 1: that poll, look at this day. Now. The reason they
- 14:04Speaker 1: do this on fake news show you that Democrats are
- 14:08Speaker 1: on track to win and mid The reason they do
- 14:11Speaker 1: that it's for fundraising. That's the only important thing right now,
- 14:14Speaker 1: lots of fundraising. If you put out all this nonsense
- 14:17Speaker 1: showing you're going to win, you have a much better
- 14:20Speaker 1: shot at fundraising. Donors will give like crazy if they
- 14:22Speaker 1: think you're going to win. So don't fall for all that.
- 14:25Speaker 1: It's just propaganda right now for fundraising purposes. Don't take it,
- 14:29Speaker 1: don't take it too seriously. And Gavin Newsom twenty twenty, so, well,
- 14:33Speaker 1: he's clearly way out in the front. And you remember
- 14:36Speaker 1: he's a big, big star right now on the scene
- 14:40Speaker 1: with all of his tweeting and instagram and posting and
- 14:44Speaker 1: podcasting all that. Suff he's quite a flamboyant guy. He's
- 14:48Speaker 1: attacking Trump like crazy. He's the you know, the star
- 14:52Speaker 1: right now. But there's an old rule in politics, especially
- 14:56Speaker 1: democratic politics, there's candidates you want to date, and there's
- 15:00Speaker 1: candidates you want to marry. So sometimes the flashy guy
- 15:03Speaker 1: with the outrageous comments, it's like a it's like a
- 15:07Speaker 1: woman you date, but you wouldn't marry her. So it's
- 15:09Speaker 1: the same thing with voters right now. They'll date him
- 15:11Speaker 1: because he's funny and flashy and outrageous. Doesn't mean they
- 15:15Speaker 1: want to marry. It doesn't mean they'll vote for him.
- 15:16Speaker 1: So just remember hey, we'll take some calls. Next. Eight
- 15:19Speaker 1: hundred three two one zero seven ten is the number.
- 15:23Speaker 1: Eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
