  Speaker 2: Now he's starting to show what kind of a player

  Speaker 2: he is. If you were going to describe what he's

  Speaker 2: been able to do here in the first ten twelve

  Speaker 2: games as a college player, how would you describe that?

  Speaker 1: Man? Clutch?

  Speaker 3: You know, just think about as you know, as you know,

  Speaker 3: I guess it's coming out party at Kansas, you know,

  Speaker 3: and in a big win for all of us.

  Speaker 1: Uh, incredibly clutch, And you know, I would.

  Speaker 3: Just say he's he's got he's got a toughness about him.

  Speaker 3: He's got a willingness about him, you know, to just

  Speaker 3: you know, to be to compete, uh, to be coached,

  Speaker 3: h to be one of the guys, to be just like.

  Speaker 1: An incredible teammate.

  Speaker 3: Uh terms of like you know, like where you know,

  Speaker 3: his standing in the sport relative to you know, what

  Speaker 3: people think of him at the next level, and how

  Speaker 3: talented he is. You never know it by the way

  Speaker 3: he carries himself. He's got a lot of humility about

  Speaker 3: him and the fact that he's been able to like

  Speaker 3: go into a program and a team that has a

  Speaker 3: lot of depth and a lot of good players and

  Speaker 3: just you know, be a guy that on a.

  Speaker 1: Night, if we need eighteen, he'll get us eighteen.

  Speaker 3: If it's a night you know we need him to
• 1:28
  Speaker 3: get ten and play great defense and make good you.

  Speaker 1: Know, and move the ball, he'll do that, you know.

  Speaker 3: And he's unique for a freshman being able to like

  Speaker 3: figure out on a game by game basis what the
• 1:38
  Speaker 3: team needs.

  Speaker 2: Yeah, and coach, he's really he seems wise beyond his years.

  Speaker 2: I mean, you've probably been around players like this over

  Speaker 2: your career. They're they're rare. I don't see many of them,

  Speaker 2: but this guy seems like he's one of those guys.

  Speaker 3: Yeah, he's a dad, and he comes from a great family.

  Speaker 3: I mean, you know, you know that there are awesome

  Speaker 3: people you know, up and down the family on on.

  Speaker 1: Both sides, with Josh and Katie, his.

  Speaker 3: Parents, you know, the you know, he's got great you know,

  Speaker 3: uh great Grandma's and uh, just a great inner circle

  Speaker 3: of people. And you know, so yeah, he's uh, you know,

  Speaker 3: they let us coach him and uh, you know he's
• 2:24
  Speaker 3: got a he's quiet, you know, but you know, I

  Speaker 3: think in uh, he's just a great guy. I mean,

  Speaker 3: he's a great guy to coach every day. He's he's
• 2:34
  Speaker 3: got no ego. You know, he's he's gonna be a
• 2:38
  Speaker 3: you know.

  Speaker 1: He can stay here as long as he wants.

  Speaker 3: I think I'm done talking about the NBA with these

  Speaker 3: guys and the coaches. The coaches have said like, hey,

  Speaker 3: you got to stop stop talking guys out of here,

  Speaker 3: but you know, I gotta I'll stop. I'll stop doing that, uh,

  Speaker 3: and I'll just enjoy coaching them.

  Speaker 1: The guys.

  Speaker 2: He's a special guy, yeah, no, no question about it.

  Speaker 2: And the thing about him too, he's in college. And

  Speaker 2: I watch a lot of college games, not just ours,

  Speaker 2: but a lot of college games. There aren't that many
• 3:07
  Speaker 2: real shot makers on the college scene. I mean, this
• 3:10
  Speaker 2: dude can make shots, fadeaways for jumpers, you know, stuff runners, floaters,
• 3:16
  Speaker 2: stuff that tear drops. He don't see guys making that
• 3:19
  Speaker 2: many of those shots.
• 3:20
  Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean he should shoot any shot. I mean
• 3:22
  Speaker 3: he's like he should anytime he's got a chance to
• 3:25
  Speaker 3: take a shot, like a decent shot to a good shot,
• 3:29
  Speaker 3: to obviously a great shot, but I mean any shot
• 3:32
  Speaker 3: that this guy can get off, you know, from the
• 3:34
  Speaker 3: NBA line to the front of the rim, he's got
• 3:37
  Speaker 3: to try to take because he's so he is such
• 3:41
  Speaker 3: a talented shot maker. And you know, and I think
• 3:44
  Speaker 3: you'll see more of him, you know, as he as
• 3:48
  Speaker 3: he as we get better in transition, and as he
• 3:51
  Speaker 3: gets better, I think as a cutter and a mover,
• 3:53
  Speaker 3: and as we get better at seeing things offensively, you know,
• 3:56
  Speaker 3: you'll even see some of the athleticism above the rim,
• 3:59
  Speaker 3: which is like, uh, you know, I think we got
• 4:02
  Speaker 3: to we'll see that before it's all said and done
• 4:03
  Speaker 3: this year.

  Speaker 1: Yeah.

  Speaker 2: And the thing with Mullins too, which is impressive. He's
• 4:08
  Speaker 2: not over his head on defense. I mean he seems
• 4:11
  Speaker 2: to get it most nights. And boy, that's valuable, isn't it.

  Speaker 1: I Mean he might have showed up, you know, in
• 4:18
  Speaker 1: the Georgetown game.

  Speaker 3: He probably showed up on three three defensive breakdowns where
• 4:25
  Speaker 3: he was the culprit.

  Speaker 1: And you know that there's that's nothing.

  Speaker 3: I mean that there's there's there's upperclassmen that have been
• 4:33
  Speaker 3: here for a couple.

  Speaker 1: Of years or a year that are that are starters.

  Speaker 3: Rotation players that are making more mistakes defensively than he's making.

  Speaker 3: And the thing with him is he's good. You know,
• 4:47
  Speaker 3: he's good in his hands, he's a good he's good
• 4:49
  Speaker 3: at stealing the ball some for you too.

  Speaker 1: Yeah, defensively is another thing.

  Speaker 2: I mean, guys at his age in this level of basketball,

  Speaker 2: he doesn't seem to be over his head at all.

  Speaker 3: Defen Yeah, no he's not. And uh uh yeah, I

  Speaker 3: think he'll uh you know, he's the guy. He's just
• 5:06
  Speaker 3: going to keep getting better and better.

  Speaker 2: Terrace Reid is your big man. And well he's had
• 5:12
  Speaker 2: some great starts to games at Providence at the Hall,
• 5:15
  Speaker 2: ended up with twenty plus both nights, eight rebounds, nine rebounds.

  Speaker 2: When he is establishing himself as a force in the paint.

  Speaker 2: How much better does that make you and the team?

  Speaker 1: I mean, and we're still not there.

  Speaker 3: You know, I think with with with Tarris right now,

  Speaker 3: I think some of these games seat the Hall game,

  Speaker 3: you know, it's like probably should have had you know,

  Speaker 3: five more points and four more rebounds. You know, Georgetown,

  Speaker 3: you know you have same situation. You know, like the
• 5:47
  Speaker 3: numbers are the numbers are good, but you know some
• 5:51
  Speaker 3: left a couple of buckets on the on the board

  Speaker 3: and uh, and and didn't rebound the ball quite as
• 5:56
  Speaker 3: well as we need him to. And so but that's

  Speaker 3: the bar that you get for yourself when you're someone

  Speaker 3: who's as talented as Taris's. You know, the coach is
• 6:05
  Speaker 3: never going to be quite happy enough with what you
• 6:09
  Speaker 3: just with what you just did, because you're so immensely talented.

  Speaker 3: So you know that there's, uh, there's definitely areas that
• 6:16
  Speaker 3: that I mean, you know, Tarris Is, you know, Tarre's
• 6:20
  Speaker 3: put up great numbers, but there's another level for Taris
• 6:22
  Speaker 3: to get to that he has to get to that
• 6:24
  Speaker 3: level that Adama played at, that level that Donovan played at.

  Speaker 1: Uh, you know, for us to win championships.

  Speaker 2: Yep, that's the goal, all right, Dane Hurley was we'll
