- 0:00Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Three O Take where we talk
- 0:04all things Major League Baseball.
- 0:06Here's Kyle Corwin and Nate Reyes.
- 0:10It all starts right now. Oh, welcome back to the Three O
- 0:17Take presented by Chinook. Cedry, this is episode 578.
- 0:21I'll be your host, Kyle Corwin. I'm here with my Co host Nate
- 0:25Reyes. Nate.
- 0:33Casey, how are we, Guy? You have no.
- 0:35Idea who I'm pulling for based on my current attire.
- 0:38I, I, I never know, intentionally planned it that
- 0:42way? That was my backdrop color.
- 0:44Don't know. It's like wires.
- 0:49Where's my MLB hat? Shout out Rob Lowe.
- 0:55No, that was NFL. Just kidding.
- 0:59No, he did it. Did he do it?
- 1:00He did MLB too. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 1:04Man, what a what a game. And honestly, I could be talking
- 1:11about game four of the NLCS or game seven of the ALCS.
- 1:15And you would also never know, never know.
- 1:19But to be fair, Game 4 you know, I mean, you know, you know, but
- 1:24to be fair, it's been what feels like the better part of two to
- 1:28three weeks since the NLCS wrapped up, if we're being
- 1:30honest. So I don't even really know if
- 1:34there's much to I mean, we can talk about it, no doubt, but I
- 1:37think the real the real point of discussion, real topic, real
- 1:43meat and potatoes is going to be this this ALCS.
- 1:46What a what a series. Did you have this going?
- 1:497 Own it, say it. Stay with your chest.
- 1:56I'm trying to remember. I don't know.
- 1:58I really don't know. You're just going along with it.
- 2:03I think you had them going 7. Dude, let's shit.
- 2:10We're we're going to roll with it.
- 2:11You've had them going seven. I've got the receipt right here.
- 2:18Yep, got it right here. You had them going 7.
- 2:21Great call on your part, by the way.
- 2:23Fantastic foresight, but man, this was such, this was such a
- 2:30good series. And I the the last couple games
- 2:33I was thinking about what I had said in our last LCS check in
- 2:39when I was talking about the swings in momentum and how it
- 2:43wasn't just like a, you know, blow for blow.
- 2:45It was like 2 games this side, two games this side and he just
- 2:49felt like it was going to it. It was just going to continue to
- 2:54swing back and forth because of the way that they were they were
- 2:57going at it. And I mean this was I don't know
- 3:02if you could have asked for a better well, depending on which
- 3:05side of the ball you're on, obviously, but I don't think you
- 3:07could have asked for a better finish to to at least one
- 3:11competitive series that we've seen this post season.
- 3:14Yeah, that. Just trying to like absorb it
- 3:20all good, good ball all around. I think I'm impressed by the
- 3:30Mariners because it felt like they were kind of coming into
- 3:33like a straight up buzz saw, you know?
- 3:38But it feels like a like a whole different series ago that they
- 3:45went up 2O in this series. Like it doesn't even feel like
- 3:49the same series, doesn't feel like the same team.
- 3:54On that, on that point, I just saw a tweet which I, I honestly
- 3:59just didn't sit right with my soul, if I'm being honest.
- 4:02I saw the Jays quote tweeted the Mariners tweet after the
- 4:09Mariners went up two games to none in Toronto and they quoted
- 4:13Drake. And the the caption was the
- 4:15Mariners in their original tweet had quoted Drake.
- 4:18And I was like, hold on, we're going home.
- 4:20And then the Jays quote tweeted it after the win tonight to seal
- 4:23the deal to punch their ticket. And they were like, correct.
- 4:28And I'm like couple things. There's no need for that.
- 4:33There was no need for that digging up.
- 4:35Receipts for too long. It's kind of annoying.
- 4:37Well, it's not just that, but I'm like this.
- 4:39Can we just not have a good, like there was no bad blood
- 4:42here, at least from what I saw. I I didn't see any any, any
- 4:45bulletin board material. So I'm like that that kind of
- 4:48felt off you, but you know, good for holding a receipt, I guess.
- 4:51But second of all, going back to your point, I, I had to sit
- 4:57there and, and get some context clues as to what they what the
- 5:01Blue Jays were quoting. And it was the the tweet after
- 5:04the Mariners went up two games to none.
- 5:05I'm like that felt like a month ago.
- 5:07Yeah, it's not even that good of a slam either.
- 5:11Yeah, I had. I don't know.
- 5:13A lot of things wrong with that tweet, but yeah, to your point,
- 5:15it, it's just really both, both sides of the LCS.
- 5:20It's the, the my sense of time is so far skewed.
- 5:25I I don't. Know is it almost Christmas
- 5:27time? I'm not sure where.
- 5:29There are Christmas lights up in our neighborhood.
- 5:32We were commenting on that on that this past weekend.
- 5:35That's wild. It's getting earlier and
- 5:37earlier. It's it's you.
- 5:38Can't go pre Halloween. You can because they are.
- 5:44It's almost got to say something.
- 5:46Well, we may be. We might join them.
- 5:48I jury still up. We don't know TBD.
- 5:54You're going to put up lights. Have you put up lights?
- 6:01Come on. Can we put up lights?
- 6:06Well, I would it probably make more sense to put up lights
- 6:09instead of the full, you know, the the couple trees in the
- 6:13house, wouldn't it? That the lights seems a little
- 6:15bit more Christmas light as opposed to the full.
- 6:22Do you get what I mean? If you, if you commit, if you go
- 6:24full trees and decorations, that's.
- 6:26That's the whole shebang. Yeah, I think the only way
- 6:32you're allowed to do it right now is that if you have those
- 6:34people that put up like the year round lights and then you can
- 6:38change the colors with the remote.
- 6:40But if if you have lights up every day, then you have lights
- 6:43up no days, you know, it's kind of just.
- 6:46You're not wrong. You're not wrong.
- 6:48I mean, I think it's just like a different tax bracket that's
- 6:53doing that, you know? One that I am, I am not a part
- 6:57of you. Got orange in here.
- 7:01Some orange kind of looks like Peach.
- 7:03Why are you going orange? What's the orange we?
- 7:05Were going Halloween. I thought we were talking
- 7:07Halloween. We were definitely talking
- 7:09Christmas, but anyways, even before that we were talking
- 7:12baseball. Yeah, I I couldn't tell you what
- 7:18day it is, but it it begs a bigger question.
- 7:27Well, I guess we could save it. I was going to say, now that the
- 7:31Mariners are out, where where does this leave us?
- 7:36Who we pulling for? We don't have to now.
- 7:40Let's save it. I don't want to jump the gun too
- 7:41much, but I did. I did want to spend 7 minutes
- 7:44into this thing. I know.
- 7:47What are your predictions? Give me your pick, Give me your
- 7:52pick. Give me your MVP.
- 7:53Let's get out of here. Let's get it going.
- 7:58I really thought my guy George Springer was was going to bring
- 8:03this thing home. And by this thing, I mean the
- 8:05MVP after after game one and then certainly after his his
- 8:13moment tonight in Game 7. But with the with the postseason
- 8:16that Vladi put up it just it made sense that I mean, who
- 8:19else, who else but Vladi? But.
- 8:24That's a big moment, man. Like that's a, that's a
- 8:32franchise moment. I mean, that's not just like
- 8:35this year. That's like a franchise moment.
- 8:38Biggest franchise moment since Joe Carter, without a doubt.
- 8:42I mean, there's, there's no close #2 really, even, I mean,
- 8:47this is, it's, it's this since Joe Carter.
- 8:52It's a big enough moment that like, if George Springer
- 8:54finishes out in some way, I don't think he ever would.
- 8:57But like somebody, somebody made it into the Hall of Fame.
- 9:01It's like you might be wearing a Blue Jays hat.
- 9:05That's. A take it's.
- 9:07It's sneaking up on that. How long has he been with the
- 9:11Jays? Hasn't been that long, but then
- 9:18again time time makes is isn't. I've given 5.
- 9:24Years I don't. I don't understand the concept
- 9:27of time at this point in the year and that happens every year
- 9:30so I could be could be way off. Wow.
- 9:36This. Is his fifth year as a Blue Jay,
- 9:37Yeah. Wow.
- 9:41Seven with Houston, five with five with the Jays.
- 9:44Pretty. Much down the middle big.
- 9:50Moment huge. Did you?
- 9:53Did you think he was going to do it before the like as the bat
- 9:56was building? Did you think he was going to do
- 9:58it? I.
- 9:58Mean, I, I there's like this weird just in the back of your
- 10:02mind that like the Blue Jays would, would figure it out.
- 10:06Like I, I, I felt that way the whole time Mama Reyes was
- 10:13texting me and she was like, she's going to Seattle for work
- 10:18in a couple weeks. So she was texting me and she
- 10:21was like, I'll be there from like the second to like the
- 10:2315th. Am I going to get to see a World
- 10:25Series game if they make it? I was like, no Ma like Game 7 if
- 10:29they go 7 would be done on the 1st.
- 10:32She's like, oh, that's too bad. She loves Seattle.
- 10:35She was like, you think they can pull this out?
- 10:38And it was in the I think the 5th.
- 10:41And I was like, if Wu can get through 7 through 7, they got a
- 10:48shot and sure enough, lead off walk in the seventh, another
- 10:54knock. And then it was just like, it
- 10:58just it didn't feel good. He felt it kind of moving that
- 11:01way anyway. And I didn't know how that
- 11:04moment was going to be. George Springer is just, it's
- 11:12just it's no longer at this like point of coincidence.
- 11:15Like the guy just performs. He's he's an all timer in the
- 11:20postseason. An all timer.
- 11:24Literally one of the best. Like that's not hyperbole.
- 11:26He no. Like he is one of the greatest
- 11:30to do it's unreal in October and like that's it's every post
- 11:34season you just solidifies it more and more.
- 11:39I still think he needs to buzz the Dome.
- 11:42It's getting. Worse, like every week, yeah.
- 11:46Are you talking about after the game when he was trying on the
- 11:49World Series hat? Yeah, yeah, I.
- 11:52Saw it, I saw a video. Of him on on Instagram, he was
- 11:56getting a haircut. He's like getting a fade and the
- 12:00comments were just not good dude.
- 12:03All right, we'll focus in on the positive here. 23 post season
- 12:08career home runs for George Springer.
- 12:10That's top five all time, and then we'll be history.
- 12:16It's nuts, dude. It's unbelievable. 3rd tied for
- 12:20third with Kyle Schwarber and is behind only Manny Ramirez and
- 12:26Jose Altuve. Manny has 29.
- 12:29Altuve has 27. For what most.
- 12:37Career post season homers? Really.
- 12:43What's not competing? Just crazy.
- 12:52I don't. I don't think I would have
- 12:53guessed that. Top three.
- 12:54Top three. Yeah, yeah.
- 12:56I mean, Altuve, just because you, I feel like the recency
- 13:00plays into a little bit. But Manny, yeah, Manny was Manny
- 13:05was that dude. Yeah, when it came time to
- 13:07clutch up. Oh man, I'm kind of shell
- 13:12shocked honestly. It is just a.
- 13:19We're we're going on 2-3 months of just really impressive
- 13:29offense, one through 9 and you've like everyone's just
- 13:36like, when is he going to fade? When's he going to fade?
- 13:38And it never has. It has stopped, you know.
- 13:42It got we're talking Jace, I'm assuming.
- 13:44Yeah. You know what guy that I'm I'm
- 13:47really starting to like is Addison Barger Dude, that guy
- 13:50can put a charge into a baseball.
- 13:52There was a he had a couple. I mean, he had, I mean plenty of
- 13:56hard hit balls this series, but specifically the night he he he
- 14:03stroked a couple, one of the one of which was out or it was a
- 14:09line out to Naylor first. But I'm like that ball was like
- 14:13200 off the bat. Same with.
- 14:15That Vladdy one that hit the left, by the way, Yeah, it's
- 14:19like that. Went through it, almost went
- 14:20through Randy's web. Like that was insane.
- 14:24Knocked him back. But yeah.
- 14:25Man, this is, I mean, if if you're if you're talking about a
- 14:30Dodger's rotation that is looking absolutely disgusting
- 14:35right now. And, and we'll get into that a
- 14:36little bit, but I mean, this is, this is what you would hope for
- 14:44if you're a Blue Jays fan, for your, for your offense be
- 14:47clicking the way that they are right now.
- 14:49Because that that's, I hate to say it, that's kind of your only
- 14:53hope right now. Like, that's what you that you
- 14:54have to lean on this offense because if you do end up winning
- 14:59your first World Series since 1993, it's going to be without a
- 15:04doubt, without question because of your offense, yeah.
- 15:09Pitching is just just get through, just get it done
- 15:13somehow, some way, and there's no disrespect on that.
- 15:17Like, truly. I was just about to say, yeah,
- 15:19it's, it's not a knock, but I don't.
- 15:22Think anyone saw their pitching coming in being like, oh, that's
- 15:27the that's what, That's the why. Like no, just different man
- 15:32doing it all different ways. And and I mentioned this, you
- 15:36know, going into the postseason and specifically coming into the
- 15:41CS is and I used the Brewers with reference of this too, is
- 15:46that it's just like this is the way baseball should be played.
- 15:51It's it's the occasional home run.
- 15:57And don't get me wrong, they're bludgeoning teams during certain
- 15:59games. Sure, with plenty of pop, but
- 16:03like there, there's just, it's a relentlessness.
- 16:06It's a just keep the game within reach, keep the game within
- 16:10reason. Gosman did that by coming in, by
- 16:14the way, and just keeping the game at Bay, keeping, you know,
- 16:19giving them a shot. And those moments are going to
- 16:22happen. There's just need a couple guys
- 16:24on and this thing gets flipped. It felt like it felt like a walk
- 16:30off it as much as like it just felt like it was done, like
- 16:33there was nothing that was going to happen after that.
- 16:40Yeah. It it almost like, yeah, I mean,
- 16:44if you think of the Mariners as as like a balloon building in
- 16:49that game. Yeah, you're.
- 16:51Thinking it's only going to take like it if if they can find a
- 16:56way to push, if the Jays can find a way to push across three
- 17:00runs and take the lead here, you may as well put a pin to them
- 17:03because they're you, they're so they they were talking about on
- 17:06the broadcast a lot. There's so much anxiety, there's
- 17:09so much stress. And there's a lot of that.
- 17:12I know Smoltz drove home the point about managers aging in
- 17:17those in those home stretch innings in a Game 7, which I
- 17:21mean, valid point. But there's just so much riding
- 17:25on every single pitch that when something like that happens that
- 17:30late in the game, you, you just, it would take something very,
- 17:34very special, something magical to to bounce back from in a
- 17:39situation like that. And I just think the magic ran
- 17:41out for the Mariners. They kept showing stats of like
- 17:45the seven, 8-9 in the lineup. That was just horrendous.
- 17:49Did nothing, did absolutely nothing meet the lineup turnover
- 17:55the whole series. I think it's impressive they
- 18:01made it this far, but this is kind of the whole story with
- 18:03them, right Was it was like you don't have the lineup and
- 18:10without a record-breaking unworldly season from Cal
- 18:16Raleigh, you got to wonder. It's like it's kind of similar
- 18:21like the Yankees last year, right?
- 18:22Like it the Judge Soto thing. But like if you can keep that at
- 18:26Bay, there's really nothing else going on.
- 18:30Kind of felt that way. I mean, J Rod did solid, you
- 18:34know, moving him to the lead off spot, you know, the the quick
- 18:39double out the gates the for this this game 7A solid.
- 18:43Pick for MVP, by the way, he I mean, I thought he put up a
- 18:46pretty good performance couple down games, but he had his
- 18:49moments yeah, it's. Just not it wasn't deep enough.
- 18:55Naylor did well. I think he hit over 400 during
- 18:57the series. Like did his thing.
- 19:00I know Gino had that one like, ridiculous game, but yeah, just
- 19:05kind of lacked depth. It's too bad.
- 19:12I thought Woo was going to be. It was giving me Valdi vibes
- 19:16where it's just like, oh, haven't seen you in a minute,
- 19:20you're back out. You're very much an ace, by the
- 19:23way. But yeah.
- 19:27And not not the greatest performances, but big names like
- 19:31Logan Gilbert was a disappointment this series, Like
- 19:35he was a bummer. And you, I mean, you flashback
- 19:39even maybe even to the to spring training or last year, you're
- 19:44like, that's the bona fide guy, That's the horse, that's the one
- 19:48leading this staff. And he just didn't, he didn't
- 19:53bring it. I feel like they lost this one.
- 19:59They had it and they lost it. I would, I would love to know.
- 20:03I mean, there's, I'm sure there's like a simulation you
- 20:06could run, but I would love to know how this this Mariner
- 20:14season would have gone if you took Cal Raleigh out of the
- 20:18equation and just plugged in league average on both sides of
- 20:22the ball. Not and and and I'm not saying
- 20:26that to discredit anything that the rest of the team did,
- 20:30because obviously you, you, one guy, a singular player cannot
- 20:35carry a team to game seven of the LCS.
- 20:38It's just not you. You can't do that.
- 20:40There has to be contributions from other other facets of the
- 20:43roster. But I'm just I would be curious
- 20:46to see because he did. He also had his moments in his
- 20:48postseason as well, but more more so alluding to the regular
- 20:55season and like would this Mariners team or maybe not would
- 21:01they be in the postseason, but would they?
- 21:06I don't know would like how differently this year would have
- 21:10gone is really what I would. I would love to know and you
- 21:12obviously won't know that, but it's it's because I just I was
- 21:17thinking back to what you said, like outside of his an
- 21:20absolutely historic year from him, it's like the lineup did
- 21:26seem to just lack at times. It wasn't it or it it lacked
- 21:30consistency, I should say. I can't.
- 21:41You mean you got to assume that they're going to be, they're
- 21:43going to be going in in the offseason because Gino was a
- 21:48rental. Was was Naylor a rental?
- 21:51I think Naylor was a rental, too.
- 21:54Yeah. And we're talking.
- 21:56Yeah, that sounds right. We're talking 3-4 in the lineup,
- 22:00you know, corners of the infield, I think.
- 22:06Yeah, Logan. Gilbert's 26.
- 22:07Logan. Gilbert's locked down, I think
- 22:10Brian Wu is still in our beers, isn't he?
- 22:17I mean, not that we need to do like a season wrap up for the
- 22:20Mariners at this moment, but why?
- 22:22Because that's the story though. Like, that's the story of like.
- 22:25But what? Makes you think they're going to
- 22:26go in because we just saw and we don't need to talk Brewers, but
- 22:29we just saw that the Brewers are already floating Freddy Peralta
- 22:33out there. So it's like, why do we, why do
- 22:35we just assume that the Mariners who were like similar
- 22:39specifically? Around their rotation, like
- 22:41that's what I specifically had in mind was their rotation and
- 22:46how many guys are like secured. You know, if you keep those main
- 22:523, then Logan Gilbert, Brian Wu and George Kirby who look great
- 22:57tonight by the way, very solid start.
- 23:01I feel like you kind of have to run it back a little bit and
- 23:06some a little fresh, some a little new and like a full
- 23:10season of, I mean, I don't even know what third baseman, not
- 23:17that Gino, I mean, he just, he didn't really perform as a
- 23:19Mariner, but like somebody who's really good on both sides of the
- 23:23ball. I don't know who's out there.
- 23:30I mean, they're not. Going to be in the Bregman hunt,
- 23:35you know? Like an Alec Bohm.
- 23:36I don't, I don't know. I don't know.
- 23:39Yeah, not that. Yeah, we we don't need the.
- 23:42It's just interesting to to see and it's a good year.
- 23:50It's a good. Year.
- 23:51It's gut wrenching. I'm not even a Mariner fan and I
- 23:53can feel like that's that's tough.
- 23:56Yeah, I think. However this Game 7 went, it was
- 24:00going to be a broken hearted fan base.
- 24:03Yeah, and I, it was just a weird feeling afterwards because it's,
- 24:11I don't know, going back to what I was saying about that tweet,
- 24:13just not sitting right. I'm just like, I don't it this
- 24:16was just a good series of baseball and it feels weird to
- 24:19me to be taken. And I'm not saying that the Jays
- 24:23were necessarily like dance on the grave, but it it I just
- 24:27don't feel like this series warrants that from from either
- 24:31side, like any sort of, you know, bad.
- 24:33Blood. There's no beef.
- 24:35There's no beef it and like you were saying it, it just it was
- 24:40going to be heartbreaking one way or another.
- 24:42And as a fan, as fans who don't particularly have a dog in the
- 24:46fight, it I don't it was weird. It's like, OK, I mean, this is
- 24:50cool for the Jays, cool for, you know, Toronto, Canada, whatever,
- 24:54all the provinces, whatever. But like, it sucks for the
- 25:02Mariners, man to get this close, to get this close.
- 25:08We're not talking about your first appearance in, you know,
- 25:11like we're talking with the Jays since 9330, something years.
- 25:16Like we're we're talking about trying to get there for the
- 25:20first time ever. And to get one, you are
- 25:25literally what, 3 innings away you were leading with three
- 25:32innings ago? Is that correct?
- 25:36Yeah, it was in the 7th. No outs, Yeah.
- 25:39So you were leaving with three innings to go?
- 25:45Is there a bunt involved before George Springer?
- 25:49No, I thought it was a walk. Was it two walks?
- 25:53I thought. Because I thought he did it on
- 25:54when runners on, no. 3rd. Were they 1st and 2nd?
- 26:04Oh yeah, it was. Was it?
- 26:05Jimenez laid down a bunt there. It is.
- 26:08That's. Yeah, yeah.
- 26:08Sorry, I was thinking of another inning.
- 26:10Yeah. Yeah, yeah, that was the first
- 26:14out of the 7th when that Jimenez Bunt happened.
- 26:18That's right there. That's what I was talking about
- 26:20with like, that's gut. Wrenching man.
- 26:24It's tough to, like, criticize because like, if I'm going to
- 26:30lose, I'm. I don't mind losing.
- 26:34I know Wu was the one that gave it up, but like, you know, a
- 26:36couple of those runners were his.
- 26:40You can't criticize losing with that, with your dude.
- 26:43You know, that's how I would want to go out.
- 26:45But who was it? Bizardo.
- 26:49Bizardo. Yeah.
- 26:54Tough man. Then Hoffman's figured out on
- 26:58the other side, too. Like he's just that.
- 27:01Was I mean, I get you have to go Hoffman there like you'd that
- 27:04that decision is kind of made-up on its own.
- 27:07But he had thrown, I think they said 32 pitches the night
- 27:11before, which was the most I think they said in years for
- 27:16him. I.
- 27:17I think the amount of adrenaline, no.
- 27:19Doubt. No doubt.
- 27:20I don't think it. Mattered but but I'm just like
- 27:22a. One run lead, that's three days
- 27:24off now. Yeah.
- 27:27I mean, that's, yeah, Shadow Louis Varlin, though, a, a, a
- 27:30name that I don't feel like is going to get the the creditor
- 27:34love he deserves. He's.
- 27:36They've been, they played what, 11 games and he pitched in 10 of
- 27:40them or 11:00 and 12:00 or whatever.
- 27:44The one fewer than they've played.
- 27:46He's he's he's had the appearances so good on good on
- 27:50him. One of the unsung heroes.
- 27:55But yeah, man, just a crazy, crazy way to end this series of
- 28:01for the sake of, no, I don't want to say like speeding this,
- 28:06like moving this process along, but for the sake of trying to
- 28:10get some sort of traction on where we're at in the month of
- 28:13October, I'm kind of glad to see the LCS stage is over now 'cause
- 28:17I'm like, OK, now we're at the World Series, 'cause it, like we
- 28:20said there for a while, there for a while, I was just like,
- 28:22what? What day is it?
- 28:24What, what game are we in? However, on the flip side, you
- 28:29hate to see a series like this, and I mean this.
- 28:31This was it was a great. Series man it way better than
- 28:35then I'll see us for obvious reasons and just two teams that
- 28:41are like that fun to watch all year and I think play the game
- 28:46in a refreshing way. So tough, still got wrenching
- 28:58you. Mentioned the NLCS.
- 28:59Let's let's kind of put a a bow on that.
- 29:04Again. It's been what feels like the
- 29:06better part of a month since that wrapped up, but we have yet
- 29:09to talk since what I think we can safely say is the greatest
- 29:18individual performance on a baseball field ever.
- 29:24Yeah, dude, I. Mean it's never been done I I
- 29:28don't know how how you can have a performance like Shohei Otani
- 29:32did and then followed up with Oh yeah this has never been done
- 29:38and then turn around and not say that it's the greatest
- 29:40individual performance of all time I.
- 29:42Saw this because we always do it the other way, but I saw this
- 29:45post that was like put it in football terms and the first
- 29:49like top comment was like like throwing like a quarterback
- 29:56throws for five tutties and then is also like playing lockdown
- 30:02corner defense with two interception.
- 30:04Like it's like, yeah, there's that you would never see.
- 30:09Yeah. There was a comment on our face
- 30:10on one of our Facebook posts and it was some some one of our
- 30:14followers, whatever was like, yeah, it's like Tom Brady
- 30:17throwing for three touchdowns or like 4 touchdowns and then goes
- 30:22and records like 3 sacks. It's like, yeah, I just.
- 30:28That doesn't happen. I.
- 30:29Can't. I can't fathom what that would
- 30:33look like, but we're seeing it in in the game of baseball, so
- 30:40it's unreal. It's like crazy.
- 30:42Brother like I don't know how else to.
- 30:44Say it like it's. Wild.
- 30:46I know, I know people love using that, that that tweet line where
- 30:52it's like the Earth's been around for 3 billion years or
- 30:57whatever and we've, we're living the same time.
- 31:00Fill in the blank. But like, genuinely, it is kind
- 31:02of wild when you think about the fact that, you know, forget 3
- 31:071/2 billion years or whatever just thinking about the duration
- 31:11of the sport of baseball. Like.
- 31:15It's, it's been around a long time, not 3 1/2 billion years,
- 31:18but it's been around a long time.
- 31:20And we are fortunate enough that we are living this at the same
- 31:25time getting to watch Shohei Otani do what he does.
- 31:30It's, it's kind of wild, I mean. They were, we were talking in a
- 31:34group chat, like they were talking about it on game day on
- 31:36Saturday. College football, like that's
- 31:43that is a feat in itself. By the way, if you can get
- 31:48football dominant coverage to mention baseball, yeah.
- 31:52You know, in late October, Yeah, if you can crack the full.
- 31:57Swing of this too, dude, yeah. If you can crack the topic, the
- 32:01rundown on a on a Saturday, come on.
- 32:06He's just, he's incredible. It is, it is crazy.
- 32:10I How do you feel about the MVP, by the way?
- 32:13Because I mean, it has to be real.
- 32:15That was it. That was it was that one game.
- 32:18No doubt he was did did nothing else.
- 32:21I saw. Hold on, I got the note here.
- 32:28Entered game 4, which obviously was the last game of the series.
- 32:31Entered game four with three hits and 14 strikeouts and 29
- 32:34ABS over his, well over his previous seven games.
- 32:38So not necessarily relevant to the MVP conversation, but just
- 32:41speaks more so to where he was at offensively coming into game
- 32:454. So to have the game that he did
- 32:49and then win the MVPI well, truth, truthfully, I didn't look
- 32:56at the rest of the line UPS output.
- 32:59So I'd I don't know, I mean you could you not mix in one of the
- 33:05arms like glass now, Snell, Yamoto, they've all been
- 33:11disgusting. I they another note I I pulled
- 33:15for them those three names Snell, Yamamoto and glass now or
- 33:21no excuse me and Ohtani on the bump have combined for a .63
- 33:26ERA. And if you want to look even
- 33:29bigger, 10 game ten playoff games that are combined in nine
- 33:33and one with A14 0ERA. So I mean, I mean, does does the
- 33:41greatest game of all time get you the MVP for an LCS?
- 33:46It's hard to argue that. But at the same time, I I'm not
- 33:50in any sense going to ridicule the people that are like this is
- 33:57great. Like this is this is MLB just
- 34:00pushing their Golden Boy a lot Like I, I, I get it.
- 34:03I get. Both sides from the MVP.
- 34:05Standing. How can?
- 34:08You not glaze, look at what bro just did.
- 34:13Clip that look. Sure.
- 34:16I get tired of it too. It gets old.
- 34:19I get it. I don't know.
- 34:24I feel like any time you're doing something that we've never
- 34:27seen before in in this time of year, it deserves the praise.
- 34:34Now, I agree with you. I don't think you should have
- 34:36won MVP. I don't know who else it would
- 34:38have gone to. You bring up a good point.
- 34:40The other arms, I think Ray in our group chat said that Mookie
- 34:43probably should have won it. I don't really know to be honest
- 34:49with you. That series sucked.
- 34:51I wasn't that locked in on it. It I would just check in on the
- 34:56score occasionally and just be like, yeah, that that's on brand
- 35:00and move, move right along. So now here we are.
- 35:07I would. Be curious, I don't know who to
- 35:08root for. Well we'll get into that just a
- 35:11minute, but I would be curious if that series say the series
- 35:14had gone like 6 games and Otani carried his offensive woes into
- 35:20Game 6 has that same game that he had in game 4IN Game 6 so his
- 35:26numbers look even worse on the. Whole in the in the series.
- 35:32It's like hit those those counting numbers for the series
- 35:36would be even worse. I feel like at that point you'd
- 35:40have no choice but to give it to somebody else.
- 35:43But because it was such a small sample size, it's like 1 game
- 35:47puts up 3 jacks. Yeah.
- 35:50And I, if you, you could argue that like space that out over
- 35:54the over the series and you're like, yeah, MVP, you know, if he
- 35:59had, if he space those 3 homers out and still had one of those
- 36:03starts. Yeah.
- 36:06So, I mean, it's hard to say it's.
- 36:08Like it is what it is. I don't I.
- 36:09I guess it makes sense, but it's I think.
- 36:12It's just like the expectations that we have of like, EW, you
- 36:17can't strike out 14 times. Like we forget that he's human
- 36:21and then all of a sudden he does this.
- 36:24I'll still die on this hill. The tough face doesn't work.
- 36:30He's a smiley Joe Keep smiling, that's your MO.
- 36:34I'm with you the. Tough face is not tough, just a
- 36:38strange little frown. I don't keep smiling.
- 36:43That's that's your thing you do that can.
- 36:46I can I make, can I propose A compromise?
- 36:51Can I sort of meet you in the middle?
- 36:52All right, I'm cool with whatever he does up until first
- 37:00base because and I because hear me out.
- 37:03Yeah, you. You get that long, you're.
- 37:05Me. You're you're what did you call
- 37:09it? Your mean face his mean face
- 37:11his. Tough face or his tough?
- 37:12Face, yeah, his tough face. He'll hit rounding second,
- 37:15rounding 3rd and it's like, that's not you guy.
- 37:19That's that's just not you. And that's fine, that's fine.
- 37:23That you can, you can be, you can be the cute cuddly little
- 37:26guy and that's totally fine. However, I've seen some some bat
- 37:34flips, some bat drops where I'm like the tough face kind of
- 37:40works. It's it it all.
- 37:42It's all jiving. Great.
- 37:44Bat drop. He has incredible bat drops.
- 37:47I'll give him that. The sling like the two like the
- 37:52anger Anger sling where it's like a low you.
- 37:55Know what I'm talking? About yeah, yeah, Flick of the
- 37:58wrist, like the two hand flick of the wrist.
- 38:00It's like at the waist. I like that one.
- 38:05Like. The high one with the he does
- 38:07he's. That's what I'm saying before
- 38:09first, before he touches first. I'm I'm game with whatever, but
- 38:12yeah, no, I get what you're saying.
- 38:14But yeah, now, now we get to the the, the question of who who we
- 38:25pulling for here. And I, I'll full transparency as
- 38:31of this moment, I still don't know.
- 38:33I genuinely don't ask. You to I was going to say the
- 38:35floor is yours convince me to sell me I.
- 38:38Don't hear me out. And I, and, and if people think
- 38:43that, oh, it's the World Series now, they're going to give us
- 38:46some data, some some evidence for their to support their
- 38:49'cause you haven't been following us for any amount of
- 38:51time. That's not how this works.
- 38:54I'm thinking about how much I hated Canada Day when we were up
- 38:59there this year. And I know I've mentioned that
- 39:01on here multiple times. That was miserable.
- 39:03I hated being in Canada. For Canada Day, that was I.
- 39:07Get that I? Could not have felt more fish
- 39:10out of water then when I was up there on July.
- 39:15What first crazy what a what an experience did you?
- 39:19Wear anything like anything like USA or what?
- 39:23What were you rocking, by the way?
- 39:26That's actually a great point. All I don't know that I well,
- 39:28that's The thing is we didn't. I don't think we realized it was
- 39:32candidate until we are already up there.
- 39:34So I wasn't when I'm and I when I'm packing.
- 39:36You knew, though, if I oh, if I knew without a doubt, but I we
- 39:40genuinely did not because we're like, what is?
- 39:42Why is it so like? Why is it?
- 39:45Yeah, Like why is it? Why is it just bustling right
- 39:47now? It's like the beginning of July.
- 39:49What's all this about? And sure enough, we found out
- 39:52it's Canada Day. But you know, I don't, I don't
- 39:54know exactly what I wore on that on that given day.
- 39:59But yeah, that's all that to say.
- 40:01That's kind of what's going into my decision making.
- 40:04Like did I feel so slighted to the point where?
- 40:09Sorry you lost a a potential supporter.
- 40:12Not that they need my support, but like it doesn't hurt to have
- 40:16another on the bandwagon for this final series of the season.
- 40:19You know, So that's and then obviously the Dodgers stigma.
- 40:26I, you know, there's a lot of people that I get it.
- 40:32I'll take the I'll take the logical approach, OK, I'm going
- 40:35to give you arguments on both sides and and then you you
- 40:39commit and I'll see if it helps me.
- 40:44Just saying it out loud, OK, If we're if we're baseball fans and
- 40:51we like the way the Blue Jays are going about it, right?
- 40:56And just being good on all facets of the game.
- 41:00You know, one through 9, there's Bunning, there's stolen bases,
- 41:07there's extra 90s, there's good defense.
- 41:10You don't really see any dopey defensive plays.
- 41:13They don't really hurt themselves too much.
- 41:19A good mix of young guys, a good mix of vets like they're this is
- 41:25like a very good, I, I guess I'll say natural formula that I
- 41:32think most teams can relate to. And if you're a baseball fan and
- 41:37you're wanting that aspect and that part of baseball to be the
- 41:43triumphant 1, I think you lean Blue Jays.
- 41:46Now, the other argument is you and I have been in this camp,
- 41:52openly been in this camp, of owners need to be competitive
- 41:56and owners need to spend money. We've talked about everyone can
- 42:02hate the Dodgers, but there are teams that can do this.
- 42:06Are there other aspects to it that help them?
- 42:09They're the Dodgers. The greatest?
- 42:12Player in the world defers, you know, 98% of his contract, like
- 42:18he offered that contract to other teams, like other teams
- 42:21that that was on the board. You have, you have owners that
- 42:27aren't spending money and it could lead to a lockout.
- 42:33But the reality is if we're on this camp, if we're in this camp
- 42:36and we're on this side and this is how we've been preaching it,
- 42:40say I want owners to spend money.
- 42:42I don't want a salary cap. I want them to be competitive.
- 42:45I want them to go for it. This is the definition of going
- 42:49for it. Then you got to go Dodgers.
- 42:52Those are my 2 arguments I hey. Great arguments, and to be quite
- 42:56frank, I didn't think you'd be the one bringing 2 arguments to
- 43:00the table tonight, but here, here we are, alas.
- 43:04Real quick though, on the lockout situation, and I hear
- 43:07you that that's a major talking point of this Dodgers run.
- 43:11And, you know, there's articles being written about it, like if
- 43:14the Dodgers pull off this back-to-back, does that pretty
- 43:19much put 20276 feet under? My question to the people that
- 43:27continue to clamor for a salary cap, do you genuinely think that
- 43:37a salary cap is going to change anything?
- 43:39Do we all of a sudden think that the Dodgers are going to change
- 43:42their behaviors? Do we think the Dodgers are
- 43:44going to change the way they go about acquiring talent?
- 43:47Do you think the Dodgers are going to go any any which way
- 43:50differently about how they spend money as as as much as they're
- 43:56allowed to? And what would the?
- 43:58Salary cap be I don't. Know, but on the flip side, 2.
- 44:01Less players than what they have at the moment.
- 44:03Right it to me it's all relative because on the flip side, you do
- 44:07we think that the Pirates are then going to be like, OK, now's
- 44:09our time to shine and then decide that we're going to
- 44:12change philosophies. All of a sudden, No, what are we
- 44:15talking about? Drives me insane that people
- 44:19think that all of a sudden these, the Marlins, the
- 44:21Nationals, the Pirates, the Rockies, they're all going to
- 44:24start spending money just because the teams at the top
- 44:28have a cap. They have a limit on what
- 44:30they're allowed to do. No, it comes down to
- 44:32philosophies. And if the Dodgers are going to
- 44:35maintain the philosophy that they have and just have to make
- 44:37a minor tweak as to how much they're willing to spend in that
- 44:42philosophy, then that's what's going to happen.
- 44:45And the same thing is going to happen on the other side of the
- 44:47spectrum with these teams that refuse to spend money.
- 44:49They're not going to just all of a sudden start spending money.
- 44:52It's as simple. As that I think.
- 44:53It's a shallow argument anyway because you can't sit there and
- 44:57say that they don't have incredible development,
- 45:00incredible scouting, incredible drafting.
- 45:03They've hadn't. They've had top of the line farm
- 45:06system for years now and they spend money.
- 45:10So it's like they're able to pay these guys and then they're able
- 45:13to move some of these guys they've developed to help fill
- 45:16in that big league roster or you bring them up to help fill it
- 45:20in. And it's like that's the overall
- 45:24philosophy that needs to be had across baseball.
- 45:28Not every team does that, not even close.
- 45:30So again, these are the arguments.
- 45:36Then for that reason, I think I go Dodgers.
- 45:39Then I'm probably going to piss off a lot of our listeners, but
- 45:43I think I lean Dodgers because of the fact that like I I don't
- 45:48get to Am I tired of seeing them?
- 45:52Yes. Do I want do I want them to do I
- 45:56want teams to start beating them?
- 45:58Yes. Do I think they had an easy path
- 46:01this year? Yes.
- 46:05But I don't get to have the opinion that I have of wanting
- 46:09owners to spend the money that they have on players they can
- 46:15get on, spending money on scouting, developing, coaching,
- 46:21getting everything bought in in the same direction.
- 46:24I can't bail on that philosophy now.
- 46:26So Eileen Dodgers, I don't know. I'm going to say it in six.
- 46:30I don't even think they go 7. Did I sell you?
- 46:48Either way, I. At the end of the day, look,
- 46:51look, I am an American. That's.
- 47:00Right there it is, and I refuse. Great argument.
- 47:04I refuse. I refuse to be bullied by these
- 47:09fans of teams that refuse to spend money and make their teams
- 47:13better and try to win. I refuse to be bullied by fans
- 47:17of those teams who say the Dodgers are bad for baseball.
- 47:22No, your front office just sucks.
- 47:25That's what it is. And I refuse to be bullied by
- 47:29people like you into going against the Dodgers, who last I
- 47:35checked, are the only remaining American team in this thing.
- 47:41And last I checked, I'm an American.
- 47:47And last I checked, I support teams that actually want to win
- 47:52baseball games. And you know what?
- 47:54The Dodgers do that. So yeah, Gimme Dodgers, Gimme
- 48:04Dodgers and six. I was, I was leaning so hard to
- 48:07five, but I was like, that's. A that's pushing it, that's.
- 48:10That's aggressive. Is that what starts?
- 48:13In Toronto, isn't it? It does and.
- 48:16Well, actually, no full intended disrespect here, but Dodgers,
- 48:20Dodgers won in five last year, right?
- 48:22The Yankees only got one. Yeah.
- 48:24OK. Yeah.
- 48:28Which even that was a shock. I don't know.
- 48:34Well. I think the Blue Jays are better
- 48:36than what the Yankees were last year.
- 48:38Not the saying that it's the same Dodger team.
- 48:41Sure, yeah. Kind of is.
- 48:45Yeah, I don't know better. Pitching, I don't.
- 48:50Want to have the same pick as you, though?
- 48:52But well, here's the other thing we got to keep in you got to
- 48:55take into account would this if we are pulling for the Dodgers,
- 48:59is that the kiss of death? Because there's kind of a which
- 49:03I don't I don't know how in in tune you are with the comments
- 49:05on our Facebook page, but there's not there's there's some
- 49:08running bits right now about how we continue almost perpetually
- 49:15pick whoever's playing the Dodgers.
- 49:20And here they are on the verge of going back-to-back.
- 49:24So with us finally choosing to pick the Dodgers, Look, what is
- 49:30that mean? I'll just.
- 49:30Come out and say I hate the Blue Jays.
- 49:32I I don't like Canada, I don't like Vladdy, I don't like it
- 49:36all. I, I think good for you, Rodgers
- 49:39Center. Good for you, Tim Horton's.
- 49:42I don't like them. They're iced.
- 49:43Coffee. I know I said this when I got
- 49:45back from Toronto. They're don't like them.
- 49:47They're iced coffee is pretty solid.
- 49:49They use syrup as their sweetener, which I'm like
- 49:52that's, that's a well, like Maple syrup, not not like.
- 49:58Corn syrup? Yeah, Like actual Maple syrup.
- 50:01Fructose corn syrup. Yeah, none of that.
- 50:03I don't like them. I don't like John Snyder.
- 50:08I don't. I don't like them.
- 50:10I don't like George Springer's hair.
- 50:13I don't like IKF. I don't like him.
- 50:16I. I found myself rooting for him
- 50:18the other night. I remember, I don't even
- 50:19remember what the situation was, but I was like, I come on, IKF.
- 50:23Dude, I was like. That's something I've never said
- 50:25in my life. I.
- 50:26Know And I don't like Cosman either.
- 50:28I didn't like him in high school.
- 50:29I don't like him now. How's that?
- 50:33How's that? Did we need to?
- 50:35Did we need to drop all that? I feel like I made my case with
- 50:38the American and all that just being.
- 50:39Honest that there it is. The devil I know totters.
- 50:51Oh boy, it's going. To be a rough listen for a lot
- 50:56of people. Sorry.
- 51:00Yeah. How about talk about flipping
- 51:02the tables on people The to quote the great philosopher
- 51:06Michael Scott. Well, well, well, how the
- 51:09turntables? Bet you there's not a lot of
- 51:12people anticipating these picks. Did not, did not see that coming
- 51:18and. I'll be, I'll be quite honest
- 51:22people if there's if there's Blue Jays fans listening and
- 51:25they're probably going or not even Blue Jays fans, but just
- 51:28people maybe that are in tune with our, our respective teams.
- 51:33They're going. These are just some some bitter
- 51:36division rivals fans that well, maybe for you, honestly, for me,
- 51:42though, didn't even come into play.
- 51:45It was really it was the Canada versus the USA they came into.
- 51:49Play for me, I hate them. No, I and I get it and I, I
- 51:52don't, I don't fault you. I'm just saying for me it
- 51:54wasn't. It wasn't as much of a factor,
- 51:56if at all, as as much as it was country versus country.
- 52:02And you know what? I have my thoughts and feelings
- 52:04about LA as a city. No doubt.
- 52:07I don't like it. I've been there.
- 52:09Still in our country. I've been there and I don't like
- 52:12it. But you know what?
- 52:13This is one of those cases where it's like, just because I'm
- 52:17angry doesn't mean I don't care. And you know what?
- 52:20I'm going to hold the proverbial umbrella over the city of Los
- 52:24Angeles throughout this thing because, as I said, I'm an
- 52:28American. That's right.
- 52:30And I may not like them very much.
- 52:32Yeah, but they're. American too.
- 52:36Yeah, Well, we'll see. I'm just kidding, daughters.
- 52:44And six. So I guess we don't have to do a
- 52:47preview episode, right? No.
- 52:51This kind of This is our preview episode looking ahead.
- 52:55I don't know that we know 'cause it the Blue Jays, it was all
- 52:59hands on deck situation and it look and I, I know that but.
- 53:02No, no. I.
- 53:02Know, I know they've got time off, but it's I don't know that
- 53:06we're going to know probables. Dude, just give me, give me Max
- 53:11Scherzer, Clayton Kershaw, Game one.
- 53:13Let's just like, what else do we want to see?
- 53:16You know, that's all I need. Yeah, yeah, it's probably.
- 53:21Snow, though. No, I'm with you.
- 53:23Let's. Yeah, No, I I like that.
- 53:26Let's shorten this thing. Let's, let's make it a best of
- 53:29five. Game one, we can just.
- 53:32We'll punt. We'll go.
- 53:33Scherzer. They'll be like exhibitions.
- 53:36Maybe just give us give us a couple of exhibitions.
- 53:37Game one will be Scherzer and Kershaw.
- 53:40Game 2 give Otani an aluminum bat for his for or five ABS and
- 53:54then we just get into it. Game 3.
- 53:57Yeah, we did this without Boba Shet, by the way.
- 54:02Is he, is that done? He's done, yeah.
- 54:08What was the latest on that? It would be kind of.
- 54:09Hard to just toss him in the lineup at this point, he said.
- 54:18He'll be ready. Of course you did as of. 15
- 54:21minutes ago quote. I'll be ready.
- 54:28That just made things a little more interesting, a little bit
- 54:30a. Little bit.
- 54:37Somebody tweeted they're going to inject Beau Bichette with
- 54:39substances not yet approved by Science.
- 54:41They. Need a truly Hall?
- 54:47All hands on deck here. Anything they can get.
- 54:52Oh man, you want to go MVP pick? Yeah, let's go.
- 55:03I mean, come on. Have some fun with it.
- 55:18Who won it last year? Tommy Edmund No.
- 55:21That was NLCS. Remember Tay?
- 55:25Oscar. I think it was no.
- 55:28It was Freddie. It was Freddie.
- 55:30Oh. Right.
- 55:30Yeah, Duh, duh. That's Freddie.
- 55:32Yeah. Because.
- 55:33Yeah, Edmund, I remember for sure it was NLCS.
- 55:35I don't. I don't know, man.
- 55:46It was easier last year to have a little fun with it.
- 55:48Because. Otani.
- 55:53What? Was only a factor on one side of
- 55:55the ball last year. True, right.
- 56:02Am I misremembering that? No, you're correct.
- 56:06You just started pitching like a week ago.
- 56:10Yeah, so. It was easier to have fun with
- 56:14it, but I mean, who Like who else?
- 56:16Who else are you going with? Granted the I guess if if you
- 56:22were the type of person that wanted to have some fun with it,
- 56:24what you do have working in your favor is like we talked about
- 56:28Shohei Otani outside of game four, It's not necessarily a
- 56:34guarantee that he's going to, if that's going to be extrapolated
- 56:38over 5 or 6 games, what he did in game 4 the this series.
- 56:43So I don't know. Revenge Tour.
- 56:49It's going to be Tay Oscar. Give me Mookie.
- 56:54Give me Mookie simply because of what I just said.
- 56:58I not that I not that I'd be surprised if Shohei had a, a
- 57:04World Series to remember, but he just hasn't been great this post
- 57:09season. So yeah, I'll just take, I'll
- 57:10take Mookie. Yeah, who had who did have a
- 57:13good series? True, true that.
- 57:20Yeah, we're. Going to have to, we're going to
- 57:24have to do some live streaming this thing.
- 57:29Game one, new office. Hey, game one is Friday.
- 57:34Yeah, think you'll? Be ready by then.
- 57:36It's. Tough I just got Internet today,
- 57:41desk supposed to get here on Wednesday but did you hear all
- 57:47the stuff going on with Amazon today?
- 57:52Yeah. What was that all about?
- 57:54I think it impacted the did you see the thing with the Jays
- 57:57ticket services? No.
- 58:00Yeah, they had to like pause ticket sales for Game 7 tonight
- 58:05because I guess Amazon Web Services, Ticketmaster, I I was,
- 58:10Yeah, so. Like 500 companies went down, no
- 58:13free ads. Shout out Zeke.
- 58:15Yeah. It was crazy.
- 58:18So then I was like, well, I better look at my deliveries.
- 58:21Are those still on time? I got ATV mount that's supposed
- 58:25to come today, delayed. So if the desk isn't here, I
- 58:32won't be set up by Friday. Yeah, Friday is going to be
- 58:37tough. Friday is going to be tough.
- 58:39I will have it set up before the end of the World Series though,
- 58:44So what if it? Goes 4.
- 58:48It still takes us to what, Tuesday?
- 58:52Yeah, We're looking at what would that be, Friday, Saturday,
- 58:57day off, Sunday, Friday, 24th. Yeah, Day off.
- 59:07Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, day off.
- 59:10Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Yeah, because game seven I
- 59:12looked up earlier. Game 7 is Saturday, the
- 59:15following Saturday. Smart.
- 59:16Won't go there. Won't matter.
- 59:19Won't better. Smart to set that up that way,
- 59:26yeah. We'll we'll figure out our a
- 59:28schedule for live streaming. I would love to do more than one
- 59:31game. Yeah.
- 59:35We've live streamed one one game this post Season I.
- 59:38Know, I know, and it was a. Dud I'll.
- 59:40Quit my job and we'll just. We'll do too.
- 59:50There you go. No, we'll, we'll have fun with
- 59:53it. Any who's That's kind of it.
- 59:59That's kind of it, man. You got any other fun?
- 1:00:01I mean, fun narratives, fun stuff, fun things.
- 1:00:07As it relates to the World Series, yeah.
- 1:00:10Just like any any predictions, like I mean, I, I know we're
- 1:00:14this is something we had last year, but like are he's very
- 1:00:18good at his job. I know there's a little bit more
- 1:00:20conversation about Joe Davis calling this game these games,
- 1:00:25and, you know, I'm just. Glad the Dodger.
- 1:00:27Games. Yeah, I'm just glad I I say this
- 1:00:31every year. I'm glad we've reached the point
- 1:00:33of no more TBS. No, you know no disrespect to
- 1:00:37certain individuals in the crew. Not not it over there.
- 1:00:41It's not, it's. Really not even the people, it's
- 1:00:44just the it's the, it's the app, it's the production.
- 1:00:48I'm just not crazy about pre and.
- 1:00:50Post game is very good. Yeah, I love my guy.
- 1:00:55I love my guy Pedro. But yeah, Curtis Grandison over
- 1:00:59there. No disrespect, no disrespect.
- 1:01:01Love Curtis and the pinstripes, but this is kind of kind of
- 1:01:05boring. Did you?
- 1:01:06Speaking of the cruise. Darling's the worst.
- 1:01:09Keep going. He has his moments.
- 1:01:12I can't stand him. All right.
- 1:01:16Very well. This is truth.
- 1:01:18This. Is Truth Corner over here I.
- 1:01:20Would expect nothing less. Did you speak to Cruise?
- 1:01:22Did you see did you see they had Jeter rewatch the other the clip
- 1:01:28from the other guy? I'm like, all right, you know,
- 1:01:32he's being a good sport. That that was good that that
- 1:01:35whoever came up with that idea. That was funny.
- 1:01:38Except I'm I'm pissed they played that clip and not or
- 1:01:42maybe I missed it. Maybe they did show him.
- 1:01:44But the how do you not play the clip of you just shot Derek
- 1:01:47Jeter? Like how do you not play that
- 1:01:49clip? He he played the whole like
- 1:01:51little dialogue with Wahlberg. What do they, what is it?
- 1:01:56What do they call like in like, yeah, who?
- 1:02:02What do they call interracial Angel or something like that?
- 1:02:06Biracial Angel. Biracial Angel that's.
- 1:02:11What? I guess that's such a good
- 1:02:14movie, dude. I love that movie, he said.
- 1:02:19He. Still has the wig.
- 1:02:20He kept the wig. Yeah, I saw that.
- 1:02:22He's like I, I've memorized those lines.
- 1:02:24They offered to put up a card. He's like, no, I'm memorizing
- 1:02:27this. They respect, I heard.
- 1:02:29Somebody on the crew, when he said that, like you need to wear
- 1:02:31that for Halloween, I'm like. You.
- 1:02:34Should, but yeah, that's so good, dude.
- 1:02:36No, you mentioned, you mentioned predictions, narrative
- 1:02:41storylines. I, I know I've said it before,
- 1:02:44but I'm I'm going to run it back.
- 1:02:47I'm very, very excited to watch World Series game.
- 1:02:52I mean, obviously postseason baseball is postseason baseball
- 1:02:55and having seen it play out in in the Rogers Center to this
- 1:02:59point has been has been OK, but you know with.
- 1:03:03Yeah. No, for sure tonight, but with
- 1:03:06with some of these, you know, home losses throughout the
- 1:03:09postseason for the Jays. It it I don't feel like we've
- 1:03:12really seen it reach its full potential.
- 1:03:14But I mean World Series baseball in the Rogers Center roof close
- 1:03:18as as they should. I would hope this.
- 1:03:24It's just going to be nuts, man. Like that.
- 1:03:27The George Springer Homer was I mean, they said it.
- 1:03:32They were like, George Springer just had his Jose Bautista
- 1:03:35moment and I'm like, we could get more of that in this next
- 1:03:41week. I don't know how they're going
- 1:03:45to pitch to Vladdy. That's right.
- 1:03:53Yeah, unfortunately, I don't feel like we gave him enough
- 1:03:54love this episode. He's having, he's having a
- 1:03:57postseason, like unbelievable. I mean, we have not seen
- 1:04:03something like this in some time.
- 1:04:06It's. Up there.
- 1:04:08They said he's already passed his dad and postseason home
- 1:04:12runs. He's got 6 right now, right?
- 1:04:17Yeah, and he only. Punched out twice this this
- 1:04:21series, I think possibly the whole postseason.
- 1:04:26Yeah, he has. He has a 4% strikeout rate this
- 1:04:29postseason. I mean.
- 1:04:32Come on, what's? What's his OPS though it's like?
- 1:04:371470 it's stupid dude. So insane.
- 1:04:42I think that was before the last few ABS tonight, but
- 1:04:49unbelievable. 1330 in the ALCS. 1470, yeah.
- 1:05:00He's he's locked in man. And like you don't, I don't
- 1:05:08know. It's just it's crazy to see this
- 1:05:12long of a stretch from a guess hitter because he is, he's a
- 1:05:15guess hitter, but man, does he have some play coverage.
- 1:05:25Unbelievable. I wonder if the time off is
- 1:05:29going to, you know, because we saw they had a time off before
- 1:05:33this series started and he kind of had a slow start.
- 1:05:38So I'm interested to see, you know, what these three days off,
- 1:05:43what that does to their lineup with him specifically.
- 1:05:50But again, you're just I mean, at this point you're talking
- 1:05:53about a fully rested Dodger staff fully, fully, fully
- 1:05:57rested, maybe over rested. We'll see.
- 1:06:01That's it. That's all I got now to take
- 1:06:03some out of fun things to say. Go go, Jason.
- 1:06:09Curveballs. We love you all and as always,
- 1:06:11looking forward to talking more baseball with you guys soon.
- 1:06:13Until next time, stay filthy.
