- 0:00Speaker 1: Heard from Eagles general manager, Howie Roseman on their 53
- 0:05Speaker 1: man roster, which is quote unquote set. But Jeff Mosher
- 0:09Speaker 1: is here to tell us who stays and who still
- 0:11Speaker 1: may go. You know, you get the call motion said
- 0:13Speaker 1: you have made the 53, but now it's 13 days
- 0:17Speaker 1: of hell for some of these guys. And, uh, we'll
- 0:20Speaker 1: talk about who could possibly still be waiting, uh, to
- 0:23Speaker 1: get that knock on the door. The big theme was
- 0:26Speaker 1: the four quarterbacks motion. Let's, uh, kind of dive in
- 0:29Speaker 1: you just heard what Howie Roseman had to say about
- 0:32Speaker 1: that does that kind of tell you that they will
- 0:34Speaker 1: enter the year with four quarterbacks are they looking to
- 0:37Speaker 1: move one of these guys what do you think of
- 0:40Speaker 1: that quarterback room after the cut down.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Day yeah you know you heard Howie Roseman say that
- 0:45Speaker 2: it's a it's a position you can keep bodies at
- 0:48Speaker 2: because of the value of the position but guess what
- 0:52Speaker 2: the Eagles the Eagles are one of what four or
- 0:54Speaker 2: five teams that kept Poor quarterback.
- 0:56Speaker 3: So that's a buyer's market for anybody looking for a quarterback.
- 0:59Speaker 2: So exactly what kind of value you're going to get
- 1:02Speaker 2: in return for Andy Dalton. I don't think they're going
- 1:07Speaker 2: to take Trey Tanner McKee. He's their QB2 at this point.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I think there's more value in holding on to him.
- 1:13Speaker 2: And if he has to play and performs decently for
- 1:15Speaker 2: you this year, then he becomes an attractive commodity on
- 1:19Speaker 2: the free end. that would get you a comp pick
- 1:26Speaker 2: if he became a free agent and signed a good deal.
- 1:29Speaker 2: So at this point, you know, are they going to
- 1:32Speaker 2: go through a four? Howie's certainly calling a lot of
- 1:34Speaker 2: bluffs and we'll see. It's to me, and I get it. I'm,
- 1:38Speaker 2: you know, he knows what he's doing, but you're, you
- 1:41Speaker 2: don't play you. Here's how it works in practice. Mike,
- 1:44Speaker 2: your starter, Mike, most starters, right? Gets all the reps
- 1:48Speaker 2: in practice. There are some backups who get reps in
- 1:51Speaker 2: practice because like wide receivers, you're, you're in on sub
- 1:54Speaker 2: packages and, The pass rushers are in on sub packages,
- 1:57Speaker 2: even if they don't start, but mostly your quarterback is
- 1:59Speaker 2: getting all the first team reps. So your backup, let's
- 2:02Speaker 2: say with McKee here, he may not get any during the,
- 2:05Speaker 2: during the week.
- 2:06Speaker 3: So he might get a smattering at most.
- 2:08Speaker 2: So I don't, you know, if Andy Dalton's running the
- 2:11Speaker 2: scout team, what are you doing with Cole Payton? You
- 2:13Speaker 2: have to really develop him behind the scenes and extra,
- 2:15Speaker 2: extra practice sessions, maybe before games.
- 2:18Speaker 3: It's, it's a whole lot.
- 2:19Speaker 2: So, Do I think that they let go of some
- 2:22Speaker 2: good players who can help them now just for the
- 2:24Speaker 2: sake of hanging on to four quarterbacks? Yes, I do
- 2:27Speaker 2: think they did that. Is he going to go bite
- 2:29Speaker 2: them in the ass in the end? Well, I don't
- 2:31Speaker 2: think so, but we'll see.
- 2:33Speaker 4: So you mentioned Tanner McKee.
- 2:35Speaker 1: I mean, he didn't reveal who the backup quarterback would
- 2:38Speaker 1: be here, but if Jalen hurts, God forbid, missed a
- 2:42Speaker 1: game or two, which guy do you think would get
- 2:46Speaker 1: those starts?
- 2:47Speaker 3: I think it's McKee.
- 2:48Speaker 4: Yeah, I do.
- 2:50Speaker 2: Um, I know Andy Dalton completed like eight straight passes.
- 2:54Speaker 2: I was there against the Bengals, and he's certainly looked
- 2:57Speaker 2: a little bit sharper than he has.
- 2:59Speaker 3: But he's a 39-year-old quarterback who.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Got rid of– the Panthers got rid of so that
- 3:07Speaker 2: they could add Kenny Pickett to bring this thing full circle, right,
- 3:11Speaker 2: as their backup. McKee, to me, still has more potential
- 3:15Speaker 2: higher upside. I'm not one of these people who has
- 3:17Speaker 2: ever– I don't think I've ever said if you trade him,
- 3:21Speaker 2: you're getting a first round pick and he's going to
- 3:23Speaker 2: be a starter in the NFL.
- 3:24Speaker 3: I never believed that.
- 3:25Speaker 2: I mean, I've always been impressed by him, but, and
- 3:28Speaker 2: I've always thought that you could get something for him
- 3:31Speaker 2: in a trade, but you know, I still think he
- 3:33Speaker 2: carries more upside, obviously than what Andy Dalton could give you.
- 3:36Speaker 3: Not just future upside. I mean, if he had to
- 3:38Speaker 3: play this year.
- 3:40Speaker 1: Well, I would ask the question, you know, I'm not
- 3:43Speaker 1: the biggest McKee guy in the world. I think quite frankly,
- 3:46Speaker 1: if I had to play and try to win a
- 3:48Speaker 1: game or two, I take my chances with the veteran.
- 3:51Speaker 1: to play safe and that he just steals a game
- 3:53Speaker 1: rather than what I've seen from McKee in the games
- 3:55Speaker 1: that he has played in. My question, I guess, would
- 3:58Speaker 1: be what would be acceptable value? Like you just saw
- 4:03Speaker 1: Quinn Ewers get traded. You saw Kyle McCord. Are they
- 4:06Speaker 1: looking for more, I guess, than like a fifth or
- 4:09Speaker 1: sixth round pick if they were to trade McKee?
- 4:12Speaker 3: I mean, they shouldn't be. Oh, for McKee. I'm sorry.
- 4:14Speaker 3: I thought you were going to ask me Dalton.
- 4:16Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 4:17Speaker 3: You know, that's a great question. I don't even know
- 4:21Speaker 3: that they've dangled him that hard on the trade market.
- 4:23Speaker 3: You do have to remember one thing. It's really about
- 4:26Speaker 3: keeping Cole Payton more than the other two guys, right?
- 4:29Speaker 2: Because Howie is a strong believer, and I agree with
- 4:33Speaker 2: him on this, that you really need to have a
- 4:35Speaker 2: veteran quarterback on your roster, right? If you remember last
- 4:38Speaker 2: year when Tanner McKee, who was the backup, the number two,
- 4:42Speaker 2: got hurt, he fractured his thumb in camp, the number
- 4:45Speaker 2: three at the time was Kyle McCord, a rookie. He
- 4:49Speaker 2: automatically became your number two. And Howie thought to himself,
- 4:52Speaker 2: there's no way that Kyle McCord is going to be
- 4:55Speaker 2: my number two in training camp, let alone regular season.
- 4:58Speaker 1: Right.
- 4:58Speaker 3: So he went out and got Sam Howell. And guess what?
- 5:01Speaker 3: People forget this. Sam Howell was on the.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Team the entire year last year, even though McKee was
- 5:08Speaker 2: number two, taking up a roster spot.
- 5:10Speaker 4: So.
- 5:10Speaker 2: To me, it's not about, do you have to get
- 5:12Speaker 2: rid of McKee? Do you have to get rid of Dalton?
- 5:14Speaker 2: Do I think they would trade Dalton if they got
- 5:16Speaker 2: something for him? Yes, and then try to bring a
- 5:18Speaker 2: veteran onto the practice squad. But it's really about Cole Payton,
- 5:24Speaker 2: who's occupying a roster spot, who barely got any reps
- 5:28Speaker 2: at all during the preseason, who has a ton of
- 5:32Speaker 2: mechanical flaws that need to be fixed. And Mike, it's
- 5:35Speaker 2: a guy who other teams, when I spoke to other
- 5:38Speaker 2: teams about him, told me that they didn't even think
- 5:41Speaker 2: he was an NFL quarterback. They wanted to see him
- 5:44Speaker 2: do other drills at his pro day, which he declined
- 5:47Speaker 2: to do, and that's his right. But if you saw,
- 5:49Speaker 2: I don't know if you saw the Bengals preseason game,
- 5:52Speaker 2: and for your sake, I hope you didn't, but they
- 5:55Speaker 2: actually put him in the game as the personal punt
- 5:57Speaker 2: protector on special teams before he even got in in
- 6:01Speaker 2: the fourth.
- 6:01Speaker 3: Quarter to play quarterback.
- 6:03Speaker 2: So if you're carrying him because you do have a
- 6:05Speaker 2: plan for him to be like, some kind of special
- 6:09Speaker 2: teams or fullback or the quote unquote, taste some Hill
- 6:11Speaker 2: roll that we constantly hear at.
- 6:13Speaker 1: Okay.
- 6:13Speaker 3: I get it.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I get it a little bit, but that's the real
- 6:17Speaker 2: discussion here is you're keeping four quarterbacks and one of
- 6:20Speaker 2: them might be three years away from being two years away.
- 6:23Speaker 4: Right. Jeff Mosher football at four wide receiver.
- 6:27Speaker 1: They did keep six guys. Was there a surprise that
- 6:31Speaker 1: they kept an extra guy there?
- 6:33Speaker 2: It's funny you say surprise because Adam and I did
- 6:36Speaker 2: our 53-man roster projection podcast on Saturday.
- 6:39Speaker 3: I believe it came out Saturday, Friday or Saturday. Yeah,
- 6:42Speaker 3: Saturday morning.
- 6:43Speaker 2: And I kept Elijah more on mine than six receivers.
- 6:47Speaker 3: And after I was done with the pod– I called
- 6:49Speaker 3: myself an idiot. I said, I don't know what I'm thinking.
- 6:52Speaker 3: Adam was right.
- 6:53Speaker 2: That was stupid. He's going to have no role in
- 6:55Speaker 2: the team. And lo and behold, he made the team.
- 6:57Speaker 2: So I guess it's a little bit of a blind
- 6:59Speaker 2: squirrel and nut thing there. You know, if their plan
- 7:02Speaker 2: is for him to return punts, which I don't believe
- 7:06Speaker 2: he's done a lot of in the NFL, then I
- 7:09Speaker 2: suppose it makes sense.
- 7:11Speaker 3: Otherwise, Adam's right. He's really not going to play a
- 7:15Speaker 3: whole lot.
- 7:15Speaker 2: So you do kind of wonder why he is also
- 7:18Speaker 2: occupying a roster spot. I mean, he's, he's returned 23
- 7:22Speaker 2: punts in his career.
- 7:23Speaker 3: Is that correct? Do I have that? No, no, I'm sorry.
- 7:26Speaker 2: Two punts in his career with the Browns in 2023.
- 7:30Speaker 3: That's it.
- 7:31Speaker 2: So, but maybe they think that they can get something
- 7:34Speaker 2: out of them. Maybe it's the idea that he's a
- 7:36Speaker 2: second round pick a high one and that they think
- 7:38Speaker 2: that there's some development there. And the fact that Devante
- 7:42Speaker 2: Smith gets beat up quite a bit and Makai Lemon
- 7:45Speaker 2: has only practiced a little bit. Maybe they're, thinking ahead, saying,
- 7:48Speaker 2: you know what, we have six, but week two, week three,
- 7:52Speaker 2: we could be worried about not having enough receivers, and
- 7:54Speaker 2: that's why we wanted to keep him because he might
- 7:56Speaker 2: have gotten clean because he is a high second-round pick
- 7:58Speaker 2: who had a good camp.
- 7:59Speaker 3: I don't know what went.
- 8:00Speaker 2: Into it, but, you know, it used to be the
- 8:03Speaker 2: running back, the fourth running back, Mike, that they would
- 8:05Speaker 2: keep and the guy would collect dust, and now I
- 8:07Speaker 2: fear that it might be Elijah Moore just sitting there
- 8:09Speaker 2: collecting dust all season long.
- 8:11Speaker 1: What's your takeaway on the tight ends? They kept four there.
- 8:15Speaker 1: Obviously Stowers not being ready. I guess kind of does
- 8:18Speaker 1: that play into this? He was asked about Ertz today.
- 8:21Speaker 1: Thoughts on the tight end, four of them.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Well, I think Grant Calcaterra being on injured reserve paved
- 8:27Speaker 2: the way for EJ Jenkins to make it.
- 8:29Speaker 3: And it doesn't make sense.
- 8:31Speaker 2: To say that because their skill sets are totally different, right?
- 8:35Speaker 2: But I think if Calcaterra's healthy– He's the pass-catching tight
- 8:41Speaker 2: end you want out there that you're not getting currently
- 8:44Speaker 2: in Eli Stowers, who we'll see if he's even active.
- 8:47Speaker 2: He's got a long way to go to really climb
- 8:50Speaker 2: up that depth chart. But Calcaterra's not healthy. Stowers isn't ready.
- 8:54Speaker 2: They need somebody who they've been developing. So he's on
- 8:57Speaker 2: the roster for now. They didn't claim anybody.
- 9:00Speaker 3: If there was a guy that I.
- 9:01Speaker 2: Thought that might get replaced in the next 24 to 48,
- 9:05Speaker 2: because the Eagles got a veteran, you heard obviously how
- 9:08Speaker 2: he was asked today about Zach Ertz, but there's other
- 9:12Speaker 2: veterans out there as well. That would be the guy
- 9:14Speaker 2: that I would think might not, he may not want
- 9:16Speaker 2: to be like having the, I made the 53 man
- 9:19Speaker 2: roster party just yet.
- 9:21Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:22Speaker 1: I guess on the offensive side of the ball, you know,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you got, as we mentioned, you know, some people asked
- 9:27Speaker 1: about Carson Steele. I don't know where you find a
- 9:31Speaker 1: role for a fourth running back on this team. Although,
- 9:33Speaker 1: if you're just going off of, hey, this guy's interesting
- 9:37Speaker 1: because I'm looking at what they did offensively. The only
- 9:40Speaker 1: thing they did offensively the entire preseason was throw him
- 9:43Speaker 1: the ball, it seemed like. So you almost feel like, well,
- 9:46Speaker 1: can they utilize him in that way? I guess that
- 9:48Speaker 1: would be Shipley. Or do you see the running back
- 9:52Speaker 1: in this offense being utilized like they used Steele the
- 9:56Speaker 1: last two weeks?
- 9:57Speaker 3: So here's what I've seen. We've talked about this. on
- 10:00Speaker 3: Into the Birds.
- 10:00Speaker 2: I encourage people to listen to our– and even the
- 10:03Speaker 2: upcoming ones where we really talk about what the team
- 10:05Speaker 2: still needs to do and accomplish, right?
- 10:08Speaker 3: Adam and I have.
- 10:08Speaker 2: Talked for quite a while that for years we've seen
- 10:11Speaker 2: a lot of throws to the running back in training camp.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Going back to like Darren Sproles and DeAndre Swift– But
- 10:17Speaker 2: more so recently, you know, DeAndre never really became a
- 10:19Speaker 2: big part of the passing game here, despite the endless
- 10:22Speaker 2: throws that we would see to him in camp. So
- 10:24Speaker 2: we just decided, listen, until it happens, we're not going
- 10:27Speaker 2: to sit there and tell listeners to expect this. But
- 10:30Speaker 2: if there's one thing that I observed, Mike, that might
- 10:33Speaker 2: give you the optimism that there's more opportunities for it,
- 10:37Speaker 2: is that the diversity of running back routes that I've
- 10:42Speaker 2: seen This summer in practice, meaning not just catching passes
- 10:45Speaker 2: in the flat, but running things like angle routes.
- 10:48Speaker 3: And Texas routes, wheel routes.
- 10:51Speaker 2: There was a touchdown to Saquon Barkley in the open
- 10:53Speaker 2: practice that looked like a wheel that turned into a corner.
- 10:56Speaker 2: So clearly, if this carries over into the regular season
- 11:01Speaker 2: in terms of being in the playbook, there will be
- 11:03Speaker 2: opportunities to get the running backs involved in the passing
- 11:07Speaker 2: game in a way that it has not been designed
- 11:10Speaker 2: in the past now.
- 11:11Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Whether or not that becomes something Jalen Hurts does more
- 11:15Speaker 2: because it's in the playbook remains to be seen. He's
- 11:18Speaker 2: not a guy who loves to check the ball down.
- 11:20Speaker 2: He likes to drive it deep. We all know that's
- 11:22Speaker 2: his strength. And sometimes on those short-timed intermediary routes, whether
- 11:28Speaker 2: it's a slot receiver or a tight end or, in
- 11:30Speaker 2: this case, a running back, it's not always been– the
- 11:33Speaker 2: area that he's really like excelled at as far as
- 11:36Speaker 2: hitting that quickly and seeing it quickly.
- 11:38Speaker 3: So it's hard to.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Say, I can't tell you if it, I know it,
- 11:41Speaker 2: I feel like the opportunity will be there, but until
- 11:43Speaker 2: we see.
- 11:43Speaker 1: It, I was going to say, is this just because
- 11:45Speaker 1: that steel skillset or is that the way they're going
- 11:48Speaker 1: to use?
- 11:48Speaker 3: No, no.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Cause I, I, those routes I was telling you, I've
- 11:52Speaker 2: seen run by Saquon. I've seen run by Will Shipley.
- 11:55Speaker 2: I just think that that is, that's a part of
- 11:58Speaker 2: the preseason playbook and the summer camp training camp book
- 12:02Speaker 2: that they've tried to add.
- 12:03Speaker 1: And I think, you know, people look at Steele and
- 12:06Speaker 1: kind of envision him as this smaller little scat-back kind
- 12:09Speaker 1: of guy, but he's a big guy. I mean, he's
- 12:11Speaker 1: like 6'1, 230.
- 12:13Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Yeah, but I'm saying he's a big, you know, some
- 12:17Speaker 1: people were asking me could they use him as a
- 12:19Speaker 1: fullback because the fullback gets used in some of these
- 12:24Speaker 1: offenses that Mannion, you know, is implementing here, but it
- 12:28Speaker 1: doesn't seem that there's a fullback in this offense.
- 12:31Speaker 3: No, there does not.
- 12:32Speaker 2: But, I mean, you know, even moving away from Carson Steele,
- 12:34Speaker 2: who's probably not going to see the light of day,
- 12:37Speaker 2: you know, Will Shipley is a guy who I think
- 12:38Speaker 2: has put on some muscle.
- 12:39Speaker 3: He looks stronger. He showed his juice in the preseason.
- 12:43Speaker 2: So if we're going to talk about a running back
- 12:46Speaker 2: used in that capacity, to me it's not about Carson Steele.
- 12:49Speaker 3: It's about Will Shipley.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Right, right, right.
- 12:52Speaker 1: Yeah, no, Shipley, obviously, because Shipley has had– very, very,
- 12:58Speaker 1: very little role since he has been here. So you're
- 13:00Speaker 1: thinking if he has a little role and you kept
- 13:02Speaker 1: a fourth guy, that guy has no role.
- 13:05Speaker 4: So that is where I see Shipley.
- 13:08Speaker 3: But hey, you know, A.J. Dillon and Rashad Penny made
- 13:12Speaker 3: a season off of that. So, I mean, it's been
- 13:14Speaker 3: done before.
- 13:15Speaker 1: They did bring back Damian Pierce to the practice squad.
- 13:19Speaker 4: I have not seen Steele. Is he on the practice squad?
- 13:22Speaker 3: Yeah, he's there too.
- 13:23Speaker 4: Okay, so both of them are back now.
- 13:25Speaker 1: It's all Pierce earlier this afternoon, I guess the list
- 13:28Speaker 1: of everybody, who are Bernard and Joshua Rue are both
- 13:33Speaker 1: back on the practice squad now.
- 13:36Speaker 3: Correct. According to what they released. Yes, they are.
- 13:40Speaker 4: Right.
- 13:41Speaker 1: Because because I guess that was people were up in
- 13:44Speaker 1: arms at how they didn't make the team and that
- 13:46Speaker 1: they both got through waivers.
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah. And, you know, it's hard. These are the
- 13:51Speaker 3: ones that are hardest project because.
- 13:53Speaker 2: A lot of people, including ourselves, who drew a straight
- 13:55Speaker 2: line between, hey, they knew that Jordan Mailata was a
- 14:00Speaker 2: couple of years away from really doing anything and kept him.
- 14:04Speaker 3: Why wouldn't they do.
- 14:04Speaker 2: The same with a guy that they drafted in UR
- 14:06Speaker 2: Bernard or a guy who showed promise and potential in
- 14:10Speaker 2: Josh Waru? I thought Howie made an interesting comment in
- 14:14Speaker 2: the press conference saying that, you know, at least Mailata
- 14:19Speaker 2: had played organized sports before.
- 14:22Speaker 3: So he had.
- 14:23Speaker 2: somewhat of an understanding of what it takes to be
- 14:26Speaker 2: a teammate, a professional, how to learn a playbook, whatever
- 14:31Speaker 2: rugby entails in terms of playbook, but how to play together.
- 14:35Speaker 2: Like there was some kind of foundation of playing a sport.
- 14:38Speaker 2: Whereas with who are Bernard and, and Josh Varou, there
- 14:43Speaker 2: was not.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Well, I thought that Roseman's answer today about my lot,
- 14:47Speaker 1: I guess someone like, well, what did you see from us?
- 14:49Speaker 1: He's like, I don't think that will ever happen again
- 14:51Speaker 1: in a lifetime. A guy who has never played before
- 14:55Speaker 1: will turn out. So don't compare these guys' story to
- 14:58Speaker 1: his story.
- 14:59Speaker 3: I thought he missed the mark, though.
- 15:01Speaker 2: I don't think he was asked– I don't think the
- 15:03Speaker 2: question was asked about why he was willing to risk
- 15:05Speaker 2: it this time around.
- 15:06Speaker 3: That's fair.
- 15:08Speaker 2: Because the questioner thought that those two guys could be
- 15:12Speaker 2: elite at their position the way Maialata is. I think
- 15:15Speaker 2: they were just saying what was the difference– Because there's
- 15:18Speaker 2: no way how he knew back.
- 15:20Speaker 3: That year, I can't remember, was it 2016 now, 17? 16,
- 15:23Speaker 3: I think.
- 15:24Speaker 2: 16, that Jordan Maialata was going to even be a
- 15:28Speaker 2: competent left tackle as opposed to an elite one.
- 15:30Speaker 3: So why would he, what was the thinking this time?
- 15:33Speaker 3: And honestly, every year is different. You have different roster decisions.
- 15:39Speaker 3: You have different depth.
- 15:40Speaker 2: I mean, I don't think they were blessed with great
- 15:42Speaker 2: offensive tackle depth in 2016.
- 15:45Speaker 3: The way now they've got two elites.
- 15:47Speaker 4: And they drafted a guy in the first round that year.
- 15:52Speaker 3: Who is that?
- 15:52Speaker 4: Andre Dillon.
- 15:54Speaker 3: Yes, Dillard.
- 15:55Speaker 4: Dillard, sorry.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Right.
- 15:57Speaker 2: In this case, you've got to decide on a defensive
- 16:01Speaker 2: tackle when you already have four of, like, the top
- 16:04Speaker 2: 30 in the game. You know what I'm saying? Like,
- 16:07Speaker 2: you've already got three edges. You're probably right among the top.
- 16:11Speaker 3: 15 in the game.
- 16:12Speaker 4: No Gabe Hall on the team.
- 16:14Speaker 3: Yeah, no, Gabe Hall didn't make it. He's on the
- 16:16Speaker 3: practice squad, though.
- 16:17Speaker 4: Practice squad.
- 16:18Speaker 3: Any other?
- 16:19Speaker 4: I don't think there was a big surprise. Did you have, like,
- 16:21Speaker 4: a woe? No, no, no.
- 16:26Speaker 2: I mean, you know, I was surprised even though I
- 16:28Speaker 2: picked it about Elijah Moore making the team. EJ Jenkins
- 16:32Speaker 2: made sense when you rationalize that after with Calcaterra being
- 16:35Speaker 2: hurt and what they need at that position.
- 16:37Speaker 3: And again, I don't know that it's going to stick.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I thought Kapena Gushikian looked like a really good special
- 16:46Speaker 2: teams player. And usually those are the kind of guys
- 16:48Speaker 2: who can make it onto a 53. And lo and behold,
- 16:51Speaker 2: he got claimed today by the Colts.
- 16:53Speaker 3: I think it was. So you could tell how he was.
- 16:57Speaker 2: I mean, I guess it's a feather in his cap
- 17:00Speaker 2: that he's built a roster so deep that he had
- 17:03Speaker 2: four guys get claimed by different teams, you know, but
- 17:07Speaker 2: you could tell that he didn't, he didn't really love
- 17:09Speaker 2: losing those guys either.
- 17:10Speaker 3: All right.
- 17:12Speaker 4: There you go. How he spoke, Jeff wraps it up.
- 17:15Speaker 1: We've got football at four all week long, leading you
- 17:18Speaker 1: up to Eagles and commanders next Sunday. You can listen
- 17:21Speaker 1: to the game right here on 97.3 ESPN. The preseason
- 17:25Speaker 1: is over. Football at 4 is in 2026 mode now
- 17:29Speaker 1: on the Sports Bash.
- 17:30Speaker 4: All right, brother, good to talk to you.
- 17:32Speaker 3: All right, Mike, have a great one.
