- 0:00Speaker 1: A few sea words for you for your Thursday morning
- 0:03Speaker 1: communist coalition and crash. I'm not going to do the
- 0:08Speaker 1: other one crash, because that's what would happen to the
- 0:11Speaker 1: economy if we lived in this green utopia, complete with
- 0:14Speaker 1: the eighty eight billion dollar tax grab announced yesterday. A
- 0:18Speaker 1: coalition because that is what you would get if labor,
- 0:21Speaker 1: not if really, but when Labour shacks up with its
- 0:23Speaker 1: neighbors on the far left. Hipkins yesterday first claimed not
- 0:27Speaker 1: to have read the manifesto, which no one believes. This
- 0:31Speaker 1: is the manifesto of a party he could well be
- 0:34Speaker 1: sitting around the cabinet table within a year from now.
- 0:36Speaker 1: He then refused to rule out anything in it. Won't
- 0:40Speaker 1: rule out the hammer, won't rule out the sickle. The
- 0:43Speaker 1: Greens and this is what this shows us, once again,
- 0:45Speaker 1: are by far and away Hipkins's biggest achilles heel and
- 0:49Speaker 1: therefore Luxeon's greatest strength. Remember the hit that they took
- 0:53Speaker 1: in the polls. This is Labor over the defunded police thing.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Here's the thing about New Zealander is your middle voters
- 1:00Speaker 1: that they want these bigger parties. We may not right
- 1:04Speaker 1: now be affected by the inheritance tax, or the wealth
- 1:07Speaker 1: tax that they're talking about and proposing the higher income taxes,
- 1:11Speaker 1: the company tax hikes which would put them amongst the
- 1:14Speaker 1: highest in the developed world. But the problem for Hipkins
- 1:18Speaker 1: and co is that we would like to be Kiwi.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Families would like to start a business and create a
- 1:25Speaker 1: life for their families, an asset and income, a future.
- 1:28Speaker 1: They dream of working their way up the latter at work,
- 1:31Speaker 1: get that better salary, get into that better house that
- 1:33Speaker 1: they've been saving to own. They don't think it's fear
- 1:36Speaker 1: for part of mum and Dad's life, work and savings
- 1:40Speaker 1: to be stolen and taken from them by the state
- 1:43Speaker 1: at their end. The election of John Key showed us
- 1:47Speaker 1: that families are ambitious in New Zealand. They believe in
- 1:50Speaker 1: themselves to do better. They're quite motivated and they are
- 1:53Speaker 1: ready for this recession to be over so that basically
- 1:56Speaker 1: we can all just get on with it. I've never
- 1:58Speaker 1: doubted that spirit in New zeal And. That spirit hasn't
- 2:01Speaker 1: left for Australia. It's just been hiding under a rock
- 2:05Speaker 1: for six years. And yes there are social problems here
- 2:08Speaker 1: in New Zealand. Two. But what we learned from the
- 2:10Speaker 1: Fading Days of Hipkin's reign is that voters don't trust
- 2:16Speaker 1: that if they give up their hard earned money and assets,
- 2:20Speaker 1: that the state has the ability, all the wherewithal to
- 2:23Speaker 1: change any of this, to fix any of it. They're
- 2:27Speaker 1: like the TMU versions of a Michael Joseph Savage. Many
- 2:31Speaker 1: of the houses he built still stand. Building never started
- 2:35Speaker 1: on most of Chippy's. And that brings us to the
- 2:37Speaker 1: final seaward Communists, because I don't know what else do
- 2:41Speaker 1: you call them. The Greens are planning a road show
- 2:44Speaker 1: after this pre budget announcement that they've done. My only
- 2:47Speaker 1: question for Chloe Madama and the rest of them, will
- 2:51Speaker 1: you be traveling to these towns and cities by bicycle
- 2:55Speaker 1: or will you be flying on an aeroplane? For more
