Transcript
- 0:00You know, before we go today, I definitely want to get into a
- 0:03new phrase that I've learned. It's called emotional bank account. Yeah, Amanda
- 0:08was just telling me about this, and uh, well it seems silly.
- 0:11I just asked him, like, gosh, how do you feel like you
- 0:13and Lauren are like in your relationship? Because you always feel like you have
- 0:17a healthy relationship. And there's a magic ratio. It's five to one,
- 0:22five more positive than you know, the one negative that you say, that's
- 0:25where that's the sweet spot. You don't want to be better than now.
- 0:28You don't want it to be like six or seven to one. Five to
- 0:31one is realistic. Five to one's good, okay, absolutely, But there
- 0:35is such thing now as an emotional bank account, so you should be depositing
- 0:40these things into your relationship. First all, what's the what's the interest like
- 0:44on emotional bank account? Am I better off with a high yield savings account?
- 0:49You in this high yield savings account. You must have just learned about
- 0:52this because you've been dropping a lot of high yield knowledge on me night Listen.
- 0:56I drove thirty three hours from Florida to move here, and so I
- 1:00all the time to listen to podcasts, and I learned a lot about accounts.
- 1:03Yeah, well, now we can save your marriage, not that it's
- 1:06in trouble, but telling your significant other something that you appreciate about that on
- 1:11a regular basis. I feel like I do that often. Do you.
- 1:15What do you always say to Nick about him raising the kids mostly on his
- 1:18own? Yeah, like this morning, I said, can you please unload
- 1:21the dishwasher? Thank you? I would appreciate it. I think that counts.
- 1:26I think you might be overdrawn in your emotional banks. I said,
- 1:30I would appreciate it. Yeah, okay, nice, Try what else you
- 1:34got? Give them more kisses and physical affection. That's always key, especially
- 1:40when you have kids. I find it a little bit harder. We're separated
- 1:42a little bit more. Yeah, but then when you do come in for
- 1:46that that squeeze and the like yeah I miss that. Yeah you know.
- 1:49Yeah for the kids especially to see that in there for sure. M No,
- 1:53I definitely. We talked last week maybe about how every day you should
- 1:56kiss your significant other for six seconds. I tell you about that. I
- 2:00tried it, like starting back, I'm like, no, no, no,
- 2:04I am not done yet. You can not done. He just looked
- 2:08at me. He's like, whoa settle down down girl. Another one is
- 2:15make them their usual morning macha when you know they've had a stressful day ahead.
- 2:23What is that a drink match? I think is a drink, but
- 2:25making sure I think you can also whatever they like. Yes, to be
- 2:30a drink. We don't get for some reason, my husband doesn't wake up
- 2:35at three thirty and get me a macha. More like, hey, can
- 2:38you stop slamming the doors, babe? Think appreciate it spending quality time with
- 2:43them with your phones down. I am terrible at this and I need to
- 2:46be better. Yeah, you're the world. You might be the worst in
- 2:47the world. I'm not just saying the same person. Ask my wife Laurence.
- 2:52She always talks about how much I don't have my phone out when we're
- 2:55together. Think about that though, If you were to put your phone away,
- 3:00how many times would you go and grab it? Yeah? I get
- 3:02anxiety when I don't have it. It's embarrassing. It is. Have you
- 3:06ever forgot your phone and you're just it takes about an hour or two to
- 3:08just adjust. We don't know what to do with yourself. You're just like
- 3:13I mean to be honest and Gracie, you're going to Minneapolis this weekend.
- 3:16I told you a by the time that we got robbed, my friend and
- 3:19I got our phone stolen by some Rascal Street and so the next day we
- 3:24were supposed to go to this festival and we didn't have our phones. So
- 3:28literally we had to go down to the hotel lobby. We had to have
- 3:30them print map quest so we could find we're in the cities we don't like
- 3:32know our way around. It was the most nightmare. They should make a
- 3:36movie about the day we had trying to get around with our phones. It
- 3:38was pathetic. We drove around for like forty five minutes trying to find one
- 3:42store. Anyway, it didn't reroute you on your paper map quest. And
- 3:50the last one if you're looking for that magic ratio in your relationships, filling
- 3:53up your what is it called your emotional bank account? Yep, mine's so
- 3:57full, is it? Yeah, let's see what the lasting is. Plan
- 4:00a date night, date night tomorrow? Are you big date night? Yeah?
- 4:04We're going to uh what'd I tell you? Tie Orchid? Okay more
- 4:08a center malls you know, going so we gotta get in the wall.
- 4:12Weekend Okay, you've been to the more At Center mall lately. We saw
- 4:15Santa at the more Head Center, right, great, great inter Gracie.
- 4:17Did you know that was a place I did. I haven't been there for
- 4:20a You gotta go, you gotta got you guys. Got date nights planned,
- 4:24Amanda or what? Yeah, we're we're kind of a date family.
- 4:28We're doing a parade thing this weekend with the kids. No, that's not
- 4:30a date. That's not filling up. Your husband's bank account is dwindling?
- 4:33Are you kidding me? Deer Trail Days, Deer Creek, Minnesota, population
- 4:38three h three. There is nothing better hit romance cabin bootleggers in a meat
- 4:44raffle date night. Just didn't love thinking about it, Amenda in the morning
- 4:51point seven trend. Now here's what you need to know. Just so heartbreaking,
- 4:59you guys, as all five people aboard the sub that went on a
- 5:01dive to view the Titanic are believed to be dead. Debris found at the
- 5:05surface indicates that the vessel was destroyed under water and a catastrophic implosion. And
- 5:12I just I guess for me, and we were kind of talking about it
- 5:15off air a little, and I think you brought it up a little bit
- 5:16of go too sure? Did I guess that would have been the best case,
- 5:19Marrio. You think a slow suffocating death over the course of three days
- 5:25in a cramped space like that, or just you know, I mean,
- 5:29I guess that's better. But there's no good outcome here, so sad and
- 5:32we are finding out a lot of details. You guys. The US Navy
- 5:35system reports that there was a top secret explosion on Sunday, a few hours
- 5:40after this happened, So they knew that there was some sort of explosion.
- 5:43Did you say, top secret explosion? Top secret information from the US Navy,
- 5:47and they released it yesterday. The submarine itself was not designed to go
- 5:51to that deep of water. I mean, they knew this. They didn't
- 5:54get the certification. There was a few people that worked at the company that
- 5:59ended up getting fired. Some people quit, a lot of people backed out
- 6:01on the mission because I'm like, no, this is this is crazy.
- 6:03The CEO was quoted saying something along the lines of, like, you know,
- 6:08safety precautions get in the way of innovation essentially, so like we're going
- 6:12to do I don't know, wow. Obviously people have been down there that
- 6:15deep several times, including the guy were about to hear from mister Titanic himself,
- 6:18James Cameron. Yeah, he's out on their thirty three times, which
- 6:21is crazy. I'm struck by the similarity of the Titanic disaster itself, where
- 6:29the captain was repeatedly warned about ice ahead of his ship, and yet he
- 6:33steamed at full speed into an ice field on a moonless night and many people
- 6:41died as a result, And for a very similar tragedy where warnings went unheeded
- 6:46to take place at the same exact site. You know, a lot of
- 6:49them were explorers, and the family members were even saying if they were going
- 6:54to go out, this is how they would want to. But then there's
- 6:56the nineteen year old boy who was on board who didn't want to go,
- 6:59according to his and fact, he only went because it was Father's Day and
- 7:01his dad wanted to mc go. It's just it's such a tragedy. An
- 7:06athletic trainer working at Fargo South High School was arrested for a sexual assault after
- 7:11a student reported that there was an inappropriate situation with a trainer. The school
- 7:15resource officer began an investigation. In thirty six year old Levi Tandy was arrested.
- 7:19He is a health sciences teacher at Davies, but was working at Sanford
- 7:24Health over the summer through the Athletic Training Services program. He has been placed
- 7:29on administrative lead by the school district and Sanford has suspended him without pay.
- 7:31Any good news, lady, I guess it depends on if you think this
- 7:38is good news or not. I'm not a fan of the UFC watching anybody
- 7:42fight, but I might do a little pay per view action for this one.
- 7:45Elon Musk taking on Mark Zuckerberg. I thought it was a joke,
- 7:48but the UFC press Dana White, did say they are absolutely deadly serious about
- 7:55doing that. He said they got a group text going, which is incredible.
- 7:59That also needs to be somebody needs to spill that. PLA needs to
- 8:01put the screenshots on Twitter of this. I guess they want to square off
- 8:05in Vegas. You said Mark Zuggerberg is trained in like karate has I've literally
- 8:09been training like jiu jitsu in boxing and so like he spars and fights,
- 8:13So that's why I think he would actually work. Elon Musk, who by
- 8:16all accounts is not an athlete. Well, according to the tabloid reports.
- 8:20When we see him, he's just rocking a dad bought and doesn't care.
- 8:22Yeah, but he uh, much like me, is just desperate for everybody's
- 8:28you know, approval, and so what he'll probably do is just you know,
- 8:31work out and train hard and see what he can. Hire Mike Tyson
- 8:35to spar with them, and he'll be ready to go. You're ready ready.
- 8:39That's today, No steals the sea. Let's see. Brought to you
- 8:46by Park Company, Real Tours, Work Work Work, Work, works well?
- 8:50Is remarried? What happened Rihanna and asap Rocky or oh wow, just
- 8:58outed yourself was super lame sap rock the very first time. That's how I
- 9:05read it, and then I've conscious, I'm like, oh, don't do
- 9:07it, don't do it, So now I've overthought it. At this point,
- 9:11she didn't say a dollar sign a rocky famous rapper. Fun fact,
- 9:18guys, I am not cool. He sparked some air rumors though, because
- 9:22he had a concert the other night and dedicated a song to his beautiful wife.
- 9:26Not really a rumor, is that. I mean? He just said
- 9:28sometimes people aren't married and they've been together so long, especially now that they're
- 9:31about to have baby number two. They refer as like wife and they're not.
- 9:35Maybe honestly to me, it doesn't matter one way or the other.
- 9:39They're together, they got kids. Good for them. And by the way,
- 9:43talk about a girl who can rock the pregnant belly. She looked amazing
- 9:46just wearing basically a see through dress. Yeah, just a sheer, beautiful
- 9:52belly bump on my cat. How do you think I'm rocking the pregnant belly?
- 9:56Oh? Stop it, I'm not pulling it off. Hilaria Baldwin has
- 10:01seven kids with Alec Baldwin, but she says she's actually a mom to eight.
- 10:05Just let me know how you guys feel about this. Who's the mystery
- 10:09eighth child? Well, it's funny you should ask Pike because when she sat
- 10:13down for the interview, she was discussing how Alec Baldwin is twenty six years
- 10:16older than her, and she revealed that a lot of people used to make
- 10:20fun of her, saying, oh, you probably have daddy issues because you're
- 10:24married to somebody older. She says, no, what's the exact opposite.
- 10:28Am I his mommy? Sometimes I'm his mommy? Sometimes? Stop she's the
- 10:35mommy. This is the most cringe thing I've heard in a really long and
- 10:41say, you know, no, I don't daddy, mommy, come to
- 10:45mommy. So weird. I feel like I need a shower after that.
- 10:50And it's been over ten years and Kesha and doctor Luke, they were supposed
- 10:54to go to trial, been going back and forth. At one point,
- 10:58I kind of I forgot what it was all about. I mean, that's
- 11:01how insane it's honest, is going back and forth. But they settled yesterday
- 11:05out of court. This defamation battle, like I said, has been very
- 11:07nasty. She released his statement and said, only God knows what happened that
- 11:11night. As I've always said, I cannot recount everything that happened, and
- 11:16I'm looking forward to closing the door on this chapter of my life and beginning
- 11:18a new one. I wish nothing but peace for all parties involved. Luke
- 11:22said, I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anybody.
- 11:26For the sake of my family, I vigorously fought to clear my name
- 11:30for nearly ten years. What a mess. And all those ten years,
- 11:33I still don't know what that guy looks like. Yeah, it doesn't matter.
- 11:35I couldn't pick him out of the line and in the morning point seven.
- 11:46And just to be ultra transparent, this is not for Taylor Swift tickets.
- 11:50It's just themed after Taylor Swift. Good morning, call her? Nine.
- 11:52What's your name? All right? This is Andy? Andy? Andy?
- 11:56All right? Nine. Yes, you are playing for a family four
- 11:58packet tickets to get into the Red Verb Valley Fair. But then you also
- 12:01get your choice of concert tickets. We've got Shined Down, Dan and Shay
- 12:05Third Eye Blind. It is gonna be awesome. Cannot wait for the fair
- 12:07their share? All right? So the game is sixty seconds show down,
- 12:11Andy, here's what we'll do. You're gonna have sixty seconds. In turn,
- 12:13Gracie, big Swift fan, has written down seven things. They could
- 12:18be words, phrases, song titles, but they're all Taylor Swift themed.
- 12:22Now you have to choose who you want to give hints to identify five of
- 12:24those seven things in sixty seconds. You get to choose between Amanda or me
- 12:30Pike. So big question, who would you like to give you the hints?
- 12:35I'm gonna go with Amanda. I always pick Andy. What in your
- 12:39head made you go, oh, let's go with Amanda. To be honest,
- 12:41I think maybe Amanda's a bigger Taylor Swift fan. I don't know.
- 12:46No, I think she just probably is gonna vibe with me more with the
- 12:48hint game. I didn't ask you. It's all right. I'm not mad.
- 12:54I'm just I'm just curious. It's it's a little I just like to
- 12:56do a little survey. Yes, except, well you made your bad Andy,
- 13:03So here we go sixty seconds. Amanda, you gotta give hands,
- 13:07do not use any of the words in the clues, and here we go
- 13:09in three two one. All right, this is the name of uh so,
- 13:13Taylor Swift is has a series of concerts going to different places. This
- 13:18is the name of the entire thing. Uh oh my gosh. Um,
- 13:24it's not rock star tour. No, we'll pass on. Aunt. Uh
- 13:28she has like two of them. I think they're named after our law and
- 13:31order. They're not dogs there. Yeah, yep, um. Everybody is
- 13:35making these to give away at the concert. Your little kids make them,
- 13:39even give them to their besties and they put them on their wrist yep friendship
- 13:45bracelet. Yep. Uh. It's a Shakespeare thing, but it's also one
- 13:50of our songs about a guy and a girl falling in love. Uh,
- 13:58if you're a Taylor fan, you or a what is the name of it?
- 14:01Like? What yep? Got it? And the very first song that
- 14:05she ever wrote teardrops on my guitar was what country singer was a part of
- 14:09it? Oh? No, are you? That was so close? I
- 14:18think I feel like you just made it earlier. You hit it too soon.
- 14:20It's built in. I'm not cheating. It took off ten seconds.
- 14:26Ross. I can't believe you would do then question my integrity. Andy.
- 14:28I feel so bad because Amanda did really a poor job. We're gonna make
- 14:31you a winner anyway. Congratulation. I just so you know. It's the
- 14:35Eras Tour and it was Tim McGraw. Tim McGraw, I couldn't get That's
- 14:43all right now, it is your choice. You get to decide what concert
- 14:46you want to go to get Amanda in the morning, dust dustin, dust
- 15:03dust what I'm looking for the perfect drink or drink? I'm looking for dustin
- 15:11Happy Harry's bottle shop has gotten the tops. I'm like a dusting watch Berry
- 15:16Slicker Beer. When he's here, it's always new dusting. Hello, hello
- 15:22Dustin. You know I we still have the old song. Do you know
- 15:26that's my only memory of Jesse as long as you saw we have left.
- 15:28It's not answering my text. So did you hurt him? I think I
- 15:33did. I don't know. I didn't brok Sorry Dustin from Happy Harry's Bottle
- 15:39Shop. So we started this a long time ago, over ten years ago,
- 15:41and we decided let's do new and fun products and thought like maybe it'd
- 15:46be once a month. Help every single week you have new and fun coming
- 15:48in. We thought we'd get all scientific and geek out on Chardonnay or cabernet
- 15:52or jan and then it just went went to the way went amuck, went
- 15:56a muck. But that's okay. That means consumers are getting lots of fun
- 15:58stuff week. I mean it used to be would get a new product in,
- 16:03you know, the guys will put a new product in once a month,
- 16:04and then it was once every two weeks, you know, whether it
- 16:07was a spirit, wine, beer. Literally they're putting new products in daily,
- 16:15and there's there's so just it's infinite, Like I get stuck in my
- 16:18ways of drinking the same course light every week, and you know, but
- 16:22you got so much to me it's good to have. It's good to have
- 16:25your go to your baseline, but then you just you branch out, like
- 16:27if you go to the same you know, restaurant and have the same dish,
- 16:30it's kind of boring. Sometimes go to the other side of the menu
- 16:33or try a different appetizer or whatever. Nothing wrong with going back to old
- 16:37trusty. Well, you know what we're actually starting to do at fifty or
- 16:41forty five. Yeah, which I'll get into later this summer, but we
- 16:44have a couple of new really small boutique distributors that have opened up North Dakota
- 16:48that are Minnesota. Distributors have these really eclectic, massive European portfolios. So
- 16:53I'm gonna start to redo some of the stories with going back to some old
- 16:56school, bigger selections of Great German reaslings and Great German dry wines because they're
- 17:02really fresh and great with food, and Austrian wines and Eastern European wines.
- 17:04We added sixteen new wines to forty fifth on Friday. Wow, literally like
- 17:11Great German's freezings, dry sweets, you know, quality of lines, I
- 17:14mean, really really good stuff. And I'm excited about that because you know,
- 17:18people of the industry is kind of dumbed, downtoe, like, oh,
- 17:22that's what's the new flavor of mascott are, what's the new flavor of
- 17:23fizzy. But there's these old world styles that are are really fantastic. If
- 17:29people try and experience them, they're gonna say, you know what, that's
- 17:32pretty cool and fun. Yeah, and I always liked you that you guys
- 17:34are supporting local as well, Like Fargo Brown Company. I saw them launch
- 17:37this. I'm like, I hope you guys are getting it. Of course
- 17:40you are their new beer that just was released. I mean it's it's important
- 17:42to support local and regional because you know what, they're your neighbors or your
- 17:47friends or your colleagues. Um, and we share customers. And when you
- 17:51care about your customers and you care about the community, typically good things happen.
- 17:55Yeah. I was just there last night. Yeah, they're delicious beer.
- 18:00My brother was playing on their patio. They got you didn't boo them,
- 18:03did you? Yeah? So I do have to be somewhat according Well
- 18:08let's jump into it here. So Fargo Brewing release their Aqua Cops Apricot Wheat.
- 18:15When you have wheat beers and fruit like apricot. It makes for just
- 18:18really fun fresh sipping. So when the weather gets warm again next week,
- 18:23this is one of those that you have on the pontoon or on the beach.
- 18:26This is gonna be fantas. I've been really into wheat al. You
- 18:27brought in a wheat ale I think it was last week too, but yeah,
- 18:30really it's like the perfect summer. Yeah. I mean, if you're
- 18:33kind of tired of hops and you just want to something fresh, you want
- 18:36anything dark, smooth. You know, half of visins and wheat beers are
- 18:38just nice and chris, so this would be one of those. The next
- 18:41one is from Fair State Brewing. This is their half of Vison again nice
- 18:45clean, chris fun. I mean, it's not gonna be light as light
- 18:48as a core as light or a middle or a bud light. It's gonna
- 18:51be different. It's gonna have a little bit more weight to a butt in
- 18:52a really fresh um mouth feeling and clean finish. So okay um. This
- 18:59third one will not be that way. This is from Faulton. This is
- 19:02our hop kingdom, hazy ipa. So if you can't let go of the
- 19:04hops, the fault and the hop Kingdom is your jam out of a Saint
- 19:08Paul rights faulting down there. You know what, I don't remember. I
- 19:12think it's down in the cities. They probably changed their name. You're like
- 19:17swift in or something for the weekend. Yeah, of course, you know,
- 19:21we did have a lot of Minneapolis. I wasn't sure if it was
- 19:23Minneapolis Sat Paul, but I wanted to be accurate, so I ripped open
- 19:26the four pack to make sure, because I'm not. I'm not the beer
- 19:30guru I was twenty years ago. Not that I was then, but there
- 19:33was way less selection at the time. Yeah. Anyhow, some great new
- 19:37beers if you want to get your can cocktail groove on. I love these
- 19:41And there's a girl Ashley, who is always hanging out. She works for
- 19:45Carblois and always slinging the different drinks. But I love that you guys have
- 19:48a party pack now at that. Yeah, this is Variety Pack two.
- 19:51I guess these four flavors are all new, so the only way you can
- 19:55get him as this pack. So there's Paloma, which is our tequila cocktail.
- 19:59There's a strawberry Marguerite, which is that tequila cocktail. There's a Mohito,
- 20:02which is a rum cocktail, and there's a Moscow Meal, which is
- 20:04a vodka cocktail. I like when they mixed up the tequila's, the mules
- 20:07all that. It just it's a good variety, especially going into fourth or
- 20:11July weekend when everybody has a different pallet and you're like, okay, this
- 20:15is an easy stock up for They're kind of different genres as opposed you're saying,
- 20:18oh, I have a pineapple, this, I have a you know,
- 20:21mango this, whatever. These are different spirit bases with different flavored profiles.
- 20:25So super cool pack twenty bucks available now. On the spirit side,
- 20:30Yuvy vodka, Oh my gosh, I haven't had Uvy vodka. And well
- 20:34you remember you think a Chuck Chuck Norris, You think all these shots where
- 20:37they had Uvy, you know, blue raspberry and sharing on all those things.
- 20:41They have a mango glow vodka. So if you like vodka, you
- 20:45like um um mango, love mango, mabbe the goat fruit. Wouldn't you
- 20:51saying I love mango. I think it's the best fruit or pineapple. That's
- 20:55good. It's good. You disagree. I don't want to fight with you,
- 20:57but you don't like and l This is where you guys, break up.
- 21:04This is it. You don't like mango, I don't. I don't
- 21:07mind mango. I enjoy man. You just weren't ready to say it was,
- 21:12Yeah, I was. I was not prepared to bound that path,
- 21:15like I'll be like my kids. When I met teater tot Hot dish one
- 21:18one time about ten years ago, when I art eight years ago, and
- 21:22I was all proud of this one, and my oldest son zachoes, I
- 21:25said, well, what's wrong? Don't you like it? He goes,
- 21:27No, it's not that we don't like it, we're just not hungry for
- 21:30it. Actually, that devastated me. That that messed me up for a
- 21:37long clearly because you're still remembering without Hesitation's like, it's not that we don't
- 21:42like it, it's just that we're not hungry for it. Speaking for him
- 21:45and his little brother, I'm like, sweet, okay, yeah, thanks,
- 21:48he's trying to be nice. I'm gonna walk outside and shadow box now
- 21:51and cry in the corner because who does not like tater tot Hot. Honestly,
- 21:56my gosh, a the uvy mango. This one is super fun.
- 22:03So this is a Yellowstone bourbon um um. It's really really fun. I
- 22:08mean, obviously with Yellowstone r TV series, it's kind of gotten a life
- 22:11of its own. But this has been around Kentucky for a long time.
- 22:15Back in the sixties, Yellowstone Bourbon was the top selling bourbon in Kentucky,
- 22:18which is crazy. Um, they pay homage obviously the Yellowstone, but this
- 22:22is our very first store picks single barrel with them, and one of our
- 22:26guys, Greg, who pretty much is our lead driver on all our store
- 22:30picks, I mean he has he has an amazing palette. When they picked
- 22:34us one out, he told me this is a top five store pick of
- 22:37every anything we've ever picked out over the last twenty years, so he's pretty
- 22:41excited about. It's fifty two bucks, which is great for a single barrel
- 22:45store pick whiskey. And there's only a limited number of these. Yeah,
- 22:48we got one barrel, so you know, whatever you have a day,
- 22:52all vary, you know, sometimes you get twenty six six packs, sometimes
- 22:56you get thirty six six packs, just depends on on evaporation. Angels are
- 23:00all that. So that's awesome. So if you want some fun bourbon for
- 23:03the weekend, this would be a great one. This one's super cool.
- 23:07This is sip Smith's. It's not a London This is their strawberry smash gin.
- 23:11This smells so good. It did, it really did. And I
- 23:15love a good gin and tonic and literally this one. You could make a
- 23:18smash, a strawberry smash gin and tonic. So one part strawberry smash,
- 23:23three parts premium tonic water like fever Tree or que and then slice up some
- 23:27strawberries. People ask me about that, They're like, is it really because
- 23:32we've talked about it a few times, fever Tree or Q or getting a
- 23:34different because for me it's club soda as well, but tonic more importantly,
- 23:38it adds a totally different flare to your drink. It does crazy to me.
- 23:42I mean not to disc Canada dry and swepts. You know, they've
- 23:45been around for years, but they're good for the bulk. But if you're
- 23:48gonna make a premium cocktail and you're gonna use a premium spirit, use a
- 23:52premium mix. Sure, I mean makes a difference. Yeah. Like I
- 23:56would always tell people and they would they would cook with wine. Um,
- 24:00if you're gonna make like just a big you know, primary or not a
- 24:04primary of pot rolls with wine, yeah, you can use something, you
- 24:08know, cheap. If you're gonna make a sauce with mushrooms, you have
- 24:11white wine or whatever else, or red wine, and that sauce is going
- 24:15to go on top of your filet mignon and it's gonna be an integral part
- 24:18of the flavor. Enough, then use a better wine because then you serve
- 24:22that wine with that dish and it all ties together. Yeah. It's kind
- 24:26of like coffee, Like the coffee's only as good as the water, right,
- 24:29sure, I mean you don't use like trash water if you're gonna have
- 24:30good coffee. Well, and if you're sipping premium whiskies, Yeah, you
- 24:33want to make sure your ice cubes are made with you know, distilled water
- 24:37because you don't want I didn't know that because when it sets up, you
- 24:41don't want anything that's gonna affect the flavor. You want that water to be
- 24:42clear, clean, so that it's just providing a cold factor and a dilution
- 24:48factor. It's not providing any flavor because you don't want to detract from the
- 24:51whiskey. Speaking of wine, I've gotten into the box wine. The Bota
- 24:55box. They're killing it. Bota boxes, they've been killing it. I
- 24:57mean, you have twenty four glasses in a box. They last for six
- 25:00weeks. It's just a great I mean for fifteen sixteen bucks, you really
- 25:07can't go wrong. And they have they have they have their Breeze line,
- 25:10which is kind of like their light. They have their Regular, and then
- 25:11they have their Nighthawk, which is their heavy so it's like skim milk two
- 25:15percent milk, cole milk. Then they release this one. There's summer release.
- 25:18It's a season also. When it's gone, it's gone. And they
- 25:22use Shennon Blanc Una, which is a really classic fun cocktail wine blend.
- 25:26We have Pine Ridge has a Shenne Bloc. Vina Tertior has a Shennon block
- 25:30Vona, where it's around eighty percent Shena Blanc, which is a very clean,
- 25:33fresh white wine and about twenty percent Vuna, which is a very bright,
- 25:37Greatest City kind of piny white varietal, and together it just makes for
- 25:41this kind of fun, vibrant sipping white wine. Yeah. I love it.
- 25:45Perfect for the pontoon for Sure's right awesome. I noticed a trend.
- 25:51There's a lot of drinks that go perfect on a pocket. I think I
- 25:52just like drinking. Well really just this time of year, after general,
- 25:57whatever you do in this weekend, stop it happy here bottleshops. All these
- 26:00new and front products are going to be big. Ninety eight point seven's Facebook

- 26:32Thank you. Thanks you get Amanda in the morning. Point seven So,
- 26:37as you know, our big ninety point seven big Christmas wish we've been
- 26:41doing for years. Yes, and it's our chance to be able to help
- 26:44out some people who are going through some really really just brutally tough situations and
- 26:48we're hoping to do that right now. Make a little surprise and love that
- 26:52we can do this blutely good morning. Hello, good morning. Is this
- 26:56Brittany. Yeah, Hi Brittany, This is Pike and Amanda on Big ninety
- 26:59eight point seven. Is it okay if we talked to you really quick on
- 27:03the radio. Sure? So, Brittany, we were just informed about a
- 27:07little benefit that took place last night for your husband Ross, So we just
- 27:10want to know kind of how that went and what's going on. It went
- 27:14really, really good. We had a couple hundred people out and that was
- 27:17just a really good event to kind of see all of our friends of family.
- 27:21Well, we have heard of through your friend Tanya Schmidt that you guys
- 27:23have been going through a really hard time. Can you take us back to
- 27:26October twenty sixth when you found out what was going on with Ross. Sure,
- 27:33we had actually made plans sorry, oh, of course, take your
- 27:40time. Had made plans to go to the und game in Vegas, and
- 27:47the day before we were supposed to leave, my husband was in a car
- 27:49accident and was lifelighted to Stanford, where we found out he had a tumor
- 27:56in his brain, and then he also had some injuries from the accident itself,
- 28:00so he had to get some surgery down on his shoulder, and then
- 28:06when the tumor came back after it was removed, it was great for brain
- 28:11cancer. I am wow, so sorry, And if you don't mind me
- 28:14asking, how old is Ross? Thirty nine? So young? Just devastating
- 28:18all of the circumstances in tailing all of it. I mean, I can't
- 28:22imagine a car accident that alone is going to be so horrendous, and then
- 28:26having to go through all of this. And you guys have a couple of
- 28:27kids as well, don't you. Yes, we do, plan and Bryson
- 28:33those eight So how is everybody holding up the kids? And you are you
- 28:37guys hanging in there? Yes, the kids are actually doing very very well.
- 28:40The community has been amazing and super supportive and helping keep things pretty normal
- 28:45for the kid. Yeah, and how are you as a mom? I'm
- 28:48sure it's hard trying to be supportive, but also just knowing all the medical
- 28:52things that are going on, it's got to be really challenging ups and downs
- 28:56for sure. I'm guessing Ross is not working and the medical bills have got
- 29:00to be adding up. Yes, well, we actually wanted to see if
- 29:03we could maybe just provide a little bit of an up for you this morning.
- 29:07So we had a little bit of a surprise for you. Yes,
- 29:11we wanted to add to this amazing benefit that you guys had the other night.
- 29:15So the Big ninety eight point seven Christmas Wish has been going on for
- 29:18a whole lot of years, and we like to be able to help anywhere
- 29:21we can, and our friends over at Heartland Chevy Dealers they also want to
- 29:23attack on some money. So we want to write you guys a check for
- 29:26a thousand dollars just to be able to add a little bit of early for
- 29:30you and your family. That is awesome. Thank you. You are so
- 29:36welcome, and I know it doesn't feel like that is even enough, and
- 29:38I know there's a lot of people listening right now who definitely want to help.
- 29:41And we actually have a video that we are posting. It's on our
- 29:44Big ninety eight point seven Facebook page and right there, one hundred percent of
- 29:48the proceeds people can donate that is going to go directly to you and your
- 29:51family as well. Thank you so much. It's the least we can do.
- 29:56It really is. We've been thinking about you guys, and you know
- 29:59the community. I know I've heard a lot of great things about Ross and
- 30:02your family. I used to wrestle, and I remember Ross was a heck
- 30:04of a wrestler back in the day, so I've definitely been thinking of him.
- 30:07But it's the least we can do, so I hope you guys just
- 30:11hang in there and our thoughts are with you. Thank you very very much,
- 30:15it's very appreciated.
