- 0:18Speaker 2: you want to set it up that way. People are
- 0:19Speaker 2: always like, can I stay anonymous? Yeah, you can stay anonymous.
- 0:22Speaker 2: I won't say your name. I really won't either. I
- 0:24Speaker 2: will not say your name. If we say we're not
- 0:26Speaker 2: going to, we don't. Or we can even disguise your voice.
- 0:29Speaker 2: There's sometimes people like disguise my voice a little bit.
- 0:31Speaker 1: Sure.
- 0:31Speaker 2: We have special things that we can just change or whatever.
- 0:34Speaker 2: Just call us 833-787-1029. No matter what the confession is.
- 0:39Speaker 2: Go ahead. You got one. I know a little bit
- 0:41Speaker 2: about this one. It's intense, too.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Right. So I have a secret. I've never told any
- 0:46Speaker 1: of my friends and I haven't even told my wife. OK.
- 0:50Speaker 1: I'm related to David Duke.
- 0:52Speaker 2: David wait who the kkk dude okay i was wondering
- 0:56Speaker 2: if you were gonna know who it was poo yeah
- 0:57Speaker 2: so what what yeah so you're related to david duke
- 1:02Speaker 2: who is uh not a not a good guy big
- 1:05Speaker 2: time right obviously a big part of american history i
- 1:08Speaker 2: because i had to do my research i'm like that
- 1:10Speaker 2: name sounds so familiar so right how how did you
- 1:14Speaker 2: find this out all that good stuff.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Well, I'm not exactly going to say how I'm related
- 1:18Speaker 1: because that would give away too much about who I am.
- 1:22Speaker 1: But it's a close enough family connection that my parents
- 1:26Speaker 1: actually sat me down when I got older and told
- 1:29Speaker 1: me about it. And they didn't want me finding out
- 1:32Speaker 1: from somebody else someday and being completely blindsided.
- 1:35Speaker 2: So... So your parents, your parents are not, they're not
- 1:40Speaker 2: proud of it either. It's not something they're like, yay.
- 1:43Speaker 1: Right. No, they're not necessarily proud of it either. I mean, honestly,
- 1:48Speaker 1: I just remember, you know, feeling sick when they told me,
- 1:52Speaker 1: I mean, knowing that I share blood with some, you know,
- 1:56Speaker 1: who became so well known for racism and his involvement
- 2:00Speaker 1: with the Ku Klux Klan is honestly embarrassing to me,
- 2:02Speaker 1: you know?
- 2:03Speaker 2: No. Yeah. He tried to run for like president back
- 2:06Speaker 2: in the day. He did?
- 2:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:07Speaker 2: Vice president.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:08Speaker 2: Yeah. Back in the day.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah. Okay.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah. I didn't know that. So. Yeah.
- 2:13Speaker 1: And it's just, it's just such an ugly part of history.
- 2:16Speaker 2: And.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Yeah. Yeah.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I mean, obviously, because you can tell you're not that
- 2:40Speaker 2: kind of person who, you know, obviously judges people and
- 2:44Speaker 2: is racist. It doesn't sound like so. You don't want
- 2:46Speaker 2: to be anything close to that.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Well, right. I mean, that's the crazy thing. I couldn't
- 2:50Speaker 1: be more opposite. You know, I mean, I can't stand racism.
- 2:54Speaker 1: You know, I don't understand judging somebody, you know, because
- 2:57Speaker 1: of the color of their skin or their ethnicity or
- 2:59Speaker 1: religion or anything like that.
- 3:01Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:02Speaker 1: Good. And, you know, my parents were the same way. And,
- 3:05Speaker 1: you know, growing up. You know, they constantly, you know,
- 3:09Speaker 1: preach to me that everybody's created equal and you judge
- 3:12Speaker 1: people by who they are and how they treat others. Right.
- 3:16Speaker 1: And looking back, I sometimes wonder if they went, you know,
- 3:19Speaker 1: kind of over the top teaching me because they knew,
- 3:22Speaker 1: you know, that there was this really dark connection in
- 3:25Speaker 1: our family. But, you know, I'm proud of the person
- 3:28Speaker 1: that they raised me to be. And I'm just not
- 3:31Speaker 1: proud of everyone I happen to be related to.
- 3:34Speaker 2: No, that makes sense. You never really think about that
- 3:36Speaker 2: kind of stuff when you think about, you know, these
- 3:38Speaker 2: people who are figures in whatever, you know, that have
- 3:42Speaker 2: controversial views or opinions. You don't think about their family
- 3:46Speaker 2: and the effect that it has on a family who
- 3:49Speaker 2: might be related to them and you're coming from like
- 3:50Speaker 2: a small town or whatever.
- 3:51Speaker 1: Right.
- 3:52Speaker 2: It seems like when they're gone, it's done. It's over.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Which is good.
- 3:55Speaker 2: And I had to Google this guy because this guy's
- 3:58Speaker 2: still alive.
- 3:59Speaker 1: He's a known racist. My dad.
- 4:02Speaker 2: My grandparents, everybody taught me about him when I was
- 4:05Speaker 2: like younger. That's so, yeah. I just can't imagine. Just
- 4:08Speaker 2: to see on TV, like in the 80s, late 80s,
- 4:11Speaker 2: he was still trying to run for public office. good
- 4:14Speaker 2: for you for, for changing the, I guess the, you know,
- 4:18Speaker 2: whatever the path in life. Cause there's some, there's some
- 4:20Speaker 2: people that don't unfortunately, and it just keeps going and
- 4:23Speaker 2: it goes and goes and it doesn't stop. So good
- 4:25Speaker 2: for you for breaking a cycle that obviously is not
- 4:28Speaker 2: something you're proud of, but it also doesn't define who
- 4:30Speaker 2: you are. So you do your own thing and you
- 4:32Speaker 2: lead your own life. And because that happens to be
- 4:34Speaker 2: a connection doesn't mean it's who you are.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Right, right.
- 4:38Speaker 2: No, exactly.
- 4:39Speaker 1: And I just want people to know, you know, that, uh,
- 4:42Speaker 1: You know, regardless of who we are and where we
- 4:44Speaker 1: come from, you know, it's about what we do and
- 4:47Speaker 1: how we treat people, you know.
- 4:48Speaker 2: Amen to that.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 2: Isn't that the truth? Thank you so much. Dirty Little Secret.
- 4:52Speaker 2: I got a nasty DM from somebody about this one. Yeah.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Oh, you did?
- 4:56Speaker 2: I don't want to even acknowledge him, but basically said
- 4:59Speaker 2: this guy, no, he was not a racist. This is
- 5:01Speaker 2: what this guy said to me. He's not a racist
- 5:04Speaker 2: and he's not a racist. He's just proud to be white.
- 5:11Speaker 1: No, that's not.
- 5:11Speaker 2: If you want to think that, you could think that.
- 5:14Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 5:15Speaker 2: This guy was a grand wizard.
- 5:18Speaker 1: Yeah. In the KKK.
- 5:19Speaker 2: No, don't tell me.
- 5:20Speaker 1: Oh, he was just.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Oh, no, he wasn't. It is what it is. He
- 5:23Speaker 2: was he was racist and is racist. Well, yeah. Not
- 5:27Speaker 2: going to sit here in sugarcoat. He's just proud to
- 5:30Speaker 2: be white.
- 5:30Speaker 1: Come on.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Come on. This don't tolerate that. Don't even make an
- 5:35Speaker 2: excuse for that kind of behavior ever. 102.9.
- 5:37Speaker 1: The new Mix 102.9.
