- 0:58Speaker 4: It feels good to be back together. No more shows
- 1:02Speaker 4: on the road.
- 1:02Speaker 5: Taylor can actually do his job, doesn't have to pick
- 1:05Speaker 5: up our slack.
- 1:06Speaker 4: But it feels good to be back here.
- 1:08Speaker 6: But thank you for picking yes very much, So thank
- 1:11Speaker 6: you for very much appreciated. Yeah, SEC Media Days was
- 1:15Speaker 6: a grind, so it was good to get a little
- 1:18Speaker 6: R and R right afterwards.
- 1:19Speaker 2: But Taylor, thank you very much. Excellent job. We're back.
- 1:24Speaker 6: It's Tuesday. Does it feel like more of like a Monday?
- 1:26Speaker 6: But or does it feel like a Thursday?
- 1:28Speaker 2: See?
- 1:29Speaker 4: Actually feels like more of a Thursday.
- 1:30Speaker 6: I do too, So I got some good energy, rested up,
- 1:35Speaker 6: ready to roll, ready to talk some sports, a lot
- 1:37Speaker 6: of stuff in the news.
- 1:40Speaker 4: Well you're still watching that, by god, cycling contest over there.
- 1:44Speaker 2: The bicycle contest. That's right.
- 1:47Speaker 6: I walked in Jacob's like, oh my god, it's still going.
- 1:51Speaker 6: I mean, yeah, there's six more stages.
- 1:53Speaker 5: It was well before we left for Media Days. We
- 1:56Speaker 5: went to Media Days. We're back from Media Days after
- 1:59Speaker 5: missing it day and you're still watching it.
- 2:01Speaker 6: Well, I told you when it started it was twenty
- 2:04Speaker 6: one days plus some rest days, so that's over three weeks, buddy.
- 2:07Speaker 6: Media Days was only more days. Felt like it felt
- 2:12Speaker 6: felt ten felt like a Tour de France.
- 2:14Speaker 4: It did. We were climbing up hill ourselves.
- 2:16Speaker 2: We were climbing up hill. I mean, you way more
- 2:18Speaker 2: than me. God, good Lord. Did I some coach speak?
- 2:23Speaker 2: It did?
- 2:24Speaker 4: It was so funny. Matt had his little notebook and
- 2:27Speaker 4: he'd go in there in the main room and he'd
- 2:29Speaker 4: be taking little little.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Notes, jotting some things down. Yeah I wouldn't. I was
- 2:33Speaker 2: just drawing pictures.
- 2:35Speaker 4: Did you get anything worthwhile while drawing said notes?
- 2:39Speaker 7: Uh?
- 2:41Speaker 1: Not?
- 2:41Speaker 6: Really like a lot of the stuff I was doing
- 2:43Speaker 6: in those meetings. I was listening because I enjoyed listening
- 2:45Speaker 6: to like the coaches give their state of address and
- 2:50Speaker 6: listening to reporters give questions. I enjoyed like laughing at
- 2:54Speaker 6: the bad questions and then saying, oh, good questions are
- 2:57Speaker 6: the good questions?
- 2:58Speaker 2: Yeah, our guy Marler got a good question. But I
- 3:02Speaker 2: was also like during it, I was also had my.
- 3:05Speaker 6: Little Lindy's magazine out, and I was also doing chat JPT,
- 3:09Speaker 6: jotting down notes of like the teams that were coming
- 3:12Speaker 6: the next day. So I was prepping, getting ready, learning
- 3:15Speaker 6: like the quarterback and head coaches names.
- 3:17Speaker 4: Did you ever raise your hand?
- 3:19Speaker 6: I did not raise my hand. I just didn't think
- 3:24Speaker 6: the room was ready for for me to like drop
- 3:29Speaker 6: that heat on him.
- 3:32Speaker 2: Fair enough?
- 3:32Speaker 4: Anybody impress you? Yeah, Shane, Okay, love Shane. It does
- 3:38Speaker 4: feel like Shane Beemer is perfect to be the South
- 3:43Speaker 4: Carolina head coach.
- 3:44Speaker 5: Yeah, Like there's there's coaches that that match up with
- 3:47Speaker 5: whatever program they're at, and he feels like he is
- 3:51Speaker 5: the best guy to be that coach for that school.
- 3:54Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 3:54Speaker 6: The way he talks, kind of the attitude he brings
- 3:59Speaker 6: very well Paul, but like also comes off as very
- 4:03Speaker 6: relatable and kind of like I'd have a beer with you.
- 4:06Speaker 6: But he's also like polishing the same and the same
- 4:08Speaker 6: breath like cosmetically just fits. I don't even know how
- 4:13Speaker 6: to put my finger on that one. He just like
- 4:15Speaker 6: looks the part to me. Yeah, I don't know, But
- 4:18Speaker 6: I came away impressed with that. I just I came
- 4:20Speaker 6: away from him. He did his job when he was talking,
- 4:23Speaker 6: because I was like, I don't know, South Carolina can
- 4:26Speaker 6: win this thing, right, They're gonna make a run to
- 4:28Speaker 6: do they gonna make the final four here?
- 4:30Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 4:31Speaker 6: That was that was one of my takeaways from it.
- 4:33Speaker 6: I was like, he did his job because like, even
- 4:35Speaker 6: I'm believing the hype right now, I got it.
- 4:37Speaker 2: I'm here.
- 4:38Speaker 4: That's what media days, that's really It's one of the
- 4:40Speaker 4: main things that it's for is to create a hype train.
- 4:44Speaker 5: And it happens every single year. It doesn't matter where
- 4:46Speaker 5: media Day is, it doesn't matter the situation. There's gonna
- 4:49Speaker 5: be teams that you didn't really feel great about going
- 4:52Speaker 5: into media Day and you leave feeling fantastic about or
- 4:56Speaker 5: at least like you get you feel better about them,
- 4:58Speaker 5: and I would say different tiers, but there's a lot
- 5:04Speaker 5: of people high on L s U, a ton of
- 5:06Speaker 5: people high on to like win it. And then I
- 5:10Speaker 5: would say the two Darling teams were Oklahoma and Florida.
- 5:15Speaker 5: Every room that I went in, no matter the schedule,
- 5:19Speaker 5: because they're both brutal, people are talking about those two
- 5:22Speaker 5: teams and Jeometerier and DJ Lagway and what they could do.
- 5:27Speaker 5: I mean, there were some people like I think Doring
- 5:29Speaker 5: has them going like Oklahoma ten and two. I'm like,
- 5:33Speaker 5: I think they're they're pretty good. I think Jeometeriers and two.
- 5:38Speaker 4: Ten and two. I was like, I think it's going
- 5:41Speaker 4: to translate.
- 5:41Speaker 2: I learned a lot about Dora in this trip. It
- 5:43Speaker 2: was my first time meeting them.
- 5:45Speaker 4: So everything is advertised everything.
- 5:48Speaker 2: No, no, it's not like things aren't even advertised. They
- 5:51Speaker 2: are there. So he is what you see one.
- 5:59Speaker 6: Or yeah exactly, but yeah, you're right, Like every time
- 6:02Speaker 6: I was hearing because that that was like a big question.
- 6:04Speaker 6: Every show is asking every time a camera who's your
- 6:07Speaker 6: sleeper this year? And I was like, well, they asked me,
- 6:11Speaker 6: and I was like I don't know, Like what are
- 6:13Speaker 6: you what are you talking about? I think I panicked
- 6:14Speaker 6: one time it said Auburn for some reason. I think
- 6:18Speaker 6: I have no idea, but that was a big thing.
- 6:21Speaker 6: And then I kept hearing Oklahoma, Oklahoma, Oklahoma, and I
- 6:25Speaker 6: that's kind of who I wanted to, like say as well.
- 6:27Speaker 2: After like just diving into.
- 6:30Speaker 6: More because I do like myteria and I am really
- 6:34Speaker 6: excited to do a quarterback breakdown of him later on
- 6:37Speaker 6: in the season because I really want to dive into
- 6:39Speaker 6: his film.
- 6:41Speaker 5: He's I told you, he's like a mix of you
- 6:43Speaker 5: and Baker Mayfield. That's the best way I can describe,
- 6:47Speaker 5: like the way he carries himself, kind of his size
- 6:49Speaker 5: and demeanor.
- 6:51Speaker 4: He's got something to it.
- 6:53Speaker 2: You work out you one hundred and fifty push ups
- 6:55Speaker 2: to day hash to hash to.
- 6:59Speaker 6: I think the lead impressive person I heard speak well,
- 7:03Speaker 6: hold on, let me let me back up, Let me
- 7:05Speaker 6: back up.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Jeff Levy, real person.
- 7:10Speaker 6: Realfirmed, confirmed impressive person, big dude, and really enjoyed our
- 7:19Speaker 6: conversation with I know I didn't have the balls to
- 7:23Speaker 6: ask him, like to like touch his leg, like make
- 7:26Speaker 6: sure he was real.
- 7:28Speaker 2: Didn't have the balls.
- 7:29Speaker 5: He's actually I think he's the only head coach we had. Yeah,
- 7:33Speaker 5: because the morning show, it's not it's not a juice
- 7:37Speaker 5: fest up there. Energy, not a lot of energy.
- 7:41Speaker 4: He just kind of roaming around.
- 7:42Speaker 6: It's just there's like one show on when we get there,
- 7:46Speaker 6: Like there's the Atlanta Sports Show that was like right
- 7:48Speaker 6: next to us.
- 7:49Speaker 2: So literally in this whole College Football Hall of Fame,
- 7:53Speaker 2: it makes like a square.
- 7:54Speaker 6: It makes like a square around like the main stage,
- 7:57Speaker 6: like below us, there's one people talk, one group talking,
- 8:01Speaker 6: and that was them, yeah, and then it was us.
- 8:03Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:04Speaker 6: So not a lot of juice, not a lot of
- 8:05Speaker 6: people walking around up there. But yeah, we got you know,
- 8:08Speaker 6: we started out the show with the quarterback, So I
- 8:12Speaker 6: guess my new sleeper now that we're talking about it, Mississippi.
- 8:15Speaker 2: State, watch out.
- 8:17Speaker 5: You did have to talk nice about Shreveport evangel too,
- 8:21Speaker 5: sort of did I talk nice?
- 8:22Speaker 4: I think you did? I think he did.
- 8:25Speaker 5: Uh So, I'm sure Tatay did a great job going
- 8:27Speaker 5: over this yesterday. But to win the SEC Championship, the
- 8:32Speaker 5: SEC preseason media poll, it goes like this, Texas, Georgia, Alabama, LSU,
- 8:39Speaker 5: South Carolina, Oklahoma, Vandy, Florida, Tennessee, Ole, miss and Auburn
- 8:45Speaker 5: now Tennessee Ole miss Auburn only receiving one vote, Vanderbilt
- 8:49Speaker 5: in Florida, two, Oklahoma three, South Carolina five.
- 8:53Speaker 4: But there is a clear top tier in the media's mine.
- 8:57Speaker 5: In the SEC, it is Texas, Georgia, Alabama and LSU
- 9:02Speaker 5: ninety six, forty four, twenty nine and twenty first place votes.
- 9:06Speaker 5: When you go from LSU to South Carolina, it goes
- 9:09Speaker 5: from twenty all the way down to five.
- 9:11Speaker 6: Yeah, and you kind of brought it up too, they're
- 9:13Speaker 6: LSU was the bell of the ball atc media everywhere
- 9:17Speaker 6: you every person, you don't know how I feel about that.
- 9:20Speaker 6: I don't know how I feel. But then I see
- 9:22Speaker 6: these votes. It's from the same people that were talking
- 9:23Speaker 6: about them all week. Like I thought everybody was saying,
- 9:26Speaker 6: I got LSU beating Texas or LSU beating Georgia, or like,
- 9:30Speaker 6: if anything, somebody beating LSU. Yeah, And so I saw
- 9:34Speaker 6: this too, and I was like, that didn't like, that
- 9:36Speaker 6: didn't jive with the things I was here in the
- 9:40Speaker 6: entire time.
- 9:41Speaker 5: Oh as far as LSU being all the way down
- 9:42Speaker 5: at four, yeah, yeah, you're right, because everybody we talked
- 9:45Speaker 5: to it was LSU, at least in the SEC championship game.
- 9:48Speaker 5: It felt like, for sure, you feel like many people
- 9:51Speaker 5: had them out. They do come in fourth here, and
- 9:53Speaker 5: they're fourth in the overall predicted order of finish as well.
- 9:58Speaker 4: I've got Texas and LSU. That's what I put on
- 10:01Speaker 4: my ballot, Texas and LSU in the SEC championship game.
- 10:04Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 10:04Speaker 2: I didn't fell out about God, it's in your email.
- 10:09Speaker 2: You didn't.
- 10:10Speaker 4: You didn't check your email when they.
- 10:12Speaker 2: Said, like, I got a lot of emails.
- 10:13Speaker 5: You're a media member. Now you can fill out this ballot.
- 10:17Speaker 5: You can go first team, second team quarterback.
- 10:22Speaker 6: I did, but I got real sensitive spam checkers on
- 10:26Speaker 6: my email. I gotta block out the noise.
- 10:30Speaker 4: So when you heard it, like you heard us talking
- 10:32Speaker 4: about it, you're just like, ah, that's not me, that
- 10:35Speaker 4: sending me one.
- 10:36Speaker 2: Plenty of people are gonna vote.
- 10:38Speaker 6: I tell you what, LS, you would have had twenty
- 10:40Speaker 6: one total votes, well still would have been in fourth,
- 10:45Speaker 6: so it wouldn't matter.
- 10:47Speaker 2: My vote didn't matter.
- 10:48Speaker 4: Loser mentality there. I don't like that at all.
- 10:51Speaker 5: First team quarterback was not great ness Meyer and I
- 10:54Speaker 5: think I saw every show talk about this yesterday, but
- 10:57Speaker 5: it was Leonora Sellers South Carolin LSU actually doesn't have
- 11:03Speaker 5: anyone on the first team offense.
- 11:05Speaker 2: Now.
- 11:06Speaker 5: Gary Nessmeyer was the second team quarterback, Cayden Durham was
- 11:10Speaker 5: the second team running back. Aaron Anderson was a second
- 11:13Speaker 5: team receiver, so they were well represented on the second team,
- 11:17Speaker 5: but no player on the first team, including Gary Nessmeyer.
- 11:21Speaker 5: Any surprise that Leonora Sellers gets the top spot.
- 11:28Speaker 6: I guess when you look at it from like just
- 11:30Speaker 6: geographically of all the folks that were there, No, it's
- 11:35Speaker 6: not any surprise because I do think Lenoris is has
- 11:38Speaker 6: the potential like be a guy like like a like
- 11:41Speaker 6: a big time bolster himself up to a first round
- 11:46Speaker 6: pick after this season, and just look really damn impressive.
- 11:52Speaker 4: It looks like an edge rusher when he walks in.
- 11:54Speaker 2: The like the eyeball test check and check right.
- 11:57Speaker 6: So I can get kind of like that since like
- 12:02Speaker 6: you're voting two days after you just saw him physically
- 12:04Speaker 6: and like he impressed you as just like a statue,
- 12:08Speaker 6: like as just a human being.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Yeah, there was I don't make sure I missed anybody,
- 12:13Speaker 4: but three guys that come to mind. He was one.
- 12:18Speaker 5: DJ Lagway was another, and Taylor Green from Arkansas was
- 12:21Speaker 5: another like of the quarterbacks, and I'm like, I was
- 12:25Speaker 5: not familiar with your game, yep, and that. Like DJ
- 12:29Speaker 5: Lagway walked into the room, They're like, how tall are you?
- 12:32Speaker 2: He's like six three.
- 12:33Speaker 5: I was like, my guy, you passed six three up
- 12:36Speaker 5: six years ago, like because Dusty the war check it
- 12:39Speaker 5: was with us. He's six three and Dusty was looking
- 12:41Speaker 5: up to him. DJ Lagway was a large human.
- 12:45Speaker 6: I believe, I believe I'm gonna get this band correct.
- 12:47Speaker 6: But in the words of ninety eight degrees, God must
- 12:51Speaker 6: have spent you.
- 12:52Speaker 4: Got it wrong.
- 12:54Speaker 5: I okay, a couple of things here. Respect though I
- 12:57Speaker 5: respect you pulling out ninety eight degrees. I think that's
- 13:00Speaker 5: deep cut.
- 13:00Speaker 4: It's not in sync. It's not the bactory boy.
- 13:02Speaker 2: It wasn't Nila.
- 13:04Speaker 4: No, that is in sync.
- 13:06Speaker 2: It was ah God, I'm so disappointed in myself. That's insane,
- 13:11Speaker 2: all right. I appreciate all the time.
- 13:14Speaker 4: I appreciate the effort cut off on my first team defense.
- 13:19Speaker 5: Lsu Witweeks was on the first team, the second team,
- 13:23Speaker 5: Harrold Perkins, and then no player on the third team.
- 13:27Speaker 5: You did have a couple of specialists, Barrian Brown, return specialists,
- 13:32Speaker 5: Xavian Thomas was all purpose on the second team. Return
- 13:36Speaker 5: specialist Thomas on the third team as well, so he
- 13:39Speaker 5: actually got second and third team in different positions.
- 13:42Speaker 4: So LSU well represented. But I think the main thing
- 13:45Speaker 4: was going to be Garrett Smeier not being QB one
- 13:48Speaker 4: on the first team.
- 13:49Speaker 6: But like, obviously we would have had a first team, right,
- 13:53Speaker 6: we think he's going to be the best. But I
- 13:55Speaker 6: get the vote on the timing of when it happened.
- 13:58Speaker 6: There's a lot of hype. Shame did a great job.
- 14:00Speaker 6: Like I said, even I was on the like the
- 14:02Speaker 6: hype train of South Carolina, so I think everybody probably
- 14:05Speaker 6: felt the same way that I did.
- 14:08Speaker 2: And then you just see him physics. So like I
- 14:10Speaker 2: get the vote going the way it did when it did.
- 14:13Speaker 6: Now, if we were to vote like a week ago,
- 14:16Speaker 6: two weeks ago, maybe it's a little bit different. Maybe
- 14:19Speaker 6: a little closer to the season you start analyzing just
- 14:22Speaker 6: the football play and everything like that, maybe those bols
- 14:24Speaker 6: would change.
- 14:25Speaker 2: But I get it.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Arch Manning was the third team quarterback in case you uh,
- 14:30Speaker 5: in case you missed that as well.
- 14:32Speaker 4: Arc who Arc Manning? How do you spell that? A
- 14:35Speaker 4: ar ch arc position? Running back?
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 14:43Speaker 4: Sol, can you ask that anymore. Is that okay? Is
- 14:48Speaker 4: that okay? Arch was fine, Like he came in with
- 14:52Speaker 4: us and as serious, and he was fine. He was good.
- 14:54Speaker 4: He was you could tell he'd been coached up.
- 14:56Speaker 2: He was polished.
- 14:57Speaker 4: He wouldn't go to say anything crazy. He said, uh,
- 15:02Speaker 4: Archie his grandfather obviously was like, yeah, keep it short
- 15:05Speaker 4: and sweet and be respectful. And that was like his advice.
- 15:07Speaker 4: And he did that. That's exactly what he did. But
- 15:10Speaker 4: he didn't do He didn't do the entire car wash.
- 15:16Speaker 5: He didn't do Marty and McGee, which everybody, I think
- 15:19Speaker 5: everybody outside of Arch did quarterback wise, he's the only
- 15:24Speaker 5: one that didn't.
- 15:25Speaker 2: So he didn't do Flynn.
- 15:26Speaker 4: He did not do Hester and Flynn. Although there in
- 15:30Speaker 4: the afternoon.
- 15:33Speaker 6: These people just need to know, like if you just
- 15:34Speaker 6: want like a good fun combo for a little bit,
- 15:38Speaker 6: a little breakaway from getting shelled by random dumb questions,
- 15:46Speaker 6: come see us.
- 15:47Speaker 5: I will say this, I truly believe, and I had
- 15:51Speaker 5: commissioners saying you twice. I think we had his favorite
- 15:57Speaker 5: interview of the week.
- 15:58Speaker 6: There's no doubt he was a part of that. I man,
- 16:01Speaker 6: I feel that man has got to take Oh my
- 16:04Speaker 6: god question, He's.
- 16:05Speaker 4: Like, so I can put it on autopilot. Yeah.
- 16:08Speaker 2: We were like, absolutely, you can't do like I don't
- 16:11Speaker 2: know what favorite food.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Oh.
- 16:14Speaker 4: We asked that man how he picks out his clothes
- 16:16Speaker 4: every day, and he was loving talking.
- 16:18Speaker 6: About Look to me, that was one of the probably
- 16:21Speaker 6: the best questions of anybody in SEC media day, Like
- 16:24Speaker 6: thank everybody would resonate with that question, like how do
- 16:30Speaker 6: you pick out your clothes? You got every color represented
- 16:33Speaker 6: here at SEC. You're gonna piss somebody off. Yep, what's
- 16:36Speaker 6: the thought process? A great question?
- 16:37Speaker 2: Green always go green, he said. I think you said
- 16:41Speaker 2: yellow a lot.
- 16:42Speaker 4: He said.
- 16:42Speaker 5: He said, blue and yellow. That's our colors. That's our
- 16:45Speaker 5: conference color. So you can't really get in trouble when
- 16:47Speaker 5: you wear those colors. We said, you know, green's always
- 16:50Speaker 5: He had green on that day, Blue and green. It's
- 16:52Speaker 5: like he's always safe. Blue and green, he said. And
- 16:56Speaker 5: no matter what somebody will say, he's being biased towards
- 16:58Speaker 5: a certain team, even if the color doesn't exist.
- 17:01Speaker 2: What did he say?
- 17:02Speaker 6: He had He had a tie on one time that
- 17:04Speaker 6: was like so neutral, there's like a little spectac of
- 17:07Speaker 6: red or.
- 17:08Speaker 5: Something like orange. Spec your Auburn tie today. Huh, get
- 17:13Speaker 5: out of here, fly ey here. All right, so we
- 17:15Speaker 5: do have a ton to kind of catch up on.

- 19:31Speaker 5: a headache situation, but we missed you. It's all good
- 19:34Speaker 5: and we certainly we're living through you. Covering UFC three
- 19:39Speaker 5: one eight it was awesome.
- 19:40Speaker 4: That's incredible.
- 19:41Speaker 8: Just to clarify, though Flynn only missed me, he didn't
- 19:44Speaker 8: miss Taylor.
- 19:46Speaker 2: True, thank you pretty much. Taylor hadn't been thinking about
- 19:51Speaker 2: that all week, but yeah, I know I did.
- 19:57Speaker 8: I was telling you all this morning. Yeah it was.
- 20:01Speaker 8: It was just like a.
- 20:03Speaker 3: Was.
- 20:04Speaker 2: It was definitely aim for sure.
- 20:07Speaker 8: He didn't even realize he said it.
- 20:09Speaker 3: He was like when I say, yeah, I had a
- 20:12Speaker 3: little migra, I'm telling you it's starting to go away
- 20:15Speaker 3: a little bit, but I'm good. Uh. UFC three eighteen
- 20:18Speaker 3: was awesome. It was definitely one of my favorite things
- 20:22Speaker 3: that I've ever done, like in my life. Like it
- 20:25Speaker 3: was like omaha, and then UFC three eighteen are like
- 20:28Speaker 3: top two for sure, and it's like one A, one
- 20:31Speaker 3: B and uh. Yeah it was awesome and to be
- 20:34Speaker 3: there for like Dustin's last fight and it was a
- 20:38Speaker 3: good fight win. It wasn't the result we wanted, but
- 20:42Speaker 3: it was awesome. It was a good really good We
- 20:45Speaker 3: were talking about this yesterday. Is a really good way
- 20:47Speaker 3: for him to go out, and even though he did
- 20:49Speaker 3: lose his last two fights, they were really good ones
- 20:52Speaker 3: against good opponents that really like solidified how much of
- 20:57Speaker 3: a legend in the sport he is, So it was awesome.
- 21:01Speaker 8: I did not expect.
- 21:03Speaker 3: I didn't know where I was going to be sitting,
- 21:04Speaker 3: you asked me, yeah, and I was like, I don't know.
- 21:07Speaker 3: I think probably in the press box. And then I
- 21:10Speaker 3: get there and they're like you're this way on the
- 21:13Speaker 3: floor and I was like, there's no way. And then
- 21:15Speaker 3: I get there and my name's like on the table,
- 21:18Speaker 3: and I was like, this is crazy, Like it was
- 21:24Speaker 3: insane tickets. So I got Yeah, I took a shot
- 21:30Speaker 3: in the dark, and I got myself. I didn't even
- 21:33Speaker 3: like I didn't And then I let Matt know.
- 21:35Speaker 8: I was like, hey, I just.
- 21:36Speaker 3: Applied for one, just a heads up in case you
- 21:38Speaker 3: get an email or whatever, but uh yeah, I just
- 21:42Speaker 3: I kind of just did it, not expecting to even
- 21:44Speaker 3: get approved for it. But I'm glad I did because
- 21:47Speaker 3: it was awesome, and uh yeah, I want to go
- 21:51Speaker 3: to like more UFC stuff.
- 21:52Speaker 4: You have the bug now? Oh yeah.
- 21:54Speaker 3: I was telling Matt yesterday that, like, I was so close,
- 21:59Speaker 3: the shots sounded so brutal, like with the leg kicks
- 22:03Speaker 3: or whatever, like they sounded so brutal. And then I
- 22:06Speaker 3: could see every time they got hit their sweat like
- 22:10Speaker 3: flying off of them.
- 22:10Speaker 8: It was awesome, Like it was seriously.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Did you go for the like there?
- 22:18Speaker 8: I got there like six, So what was the most
- 22:20Speaker 8: uh So.
- 22:21Speaker 6: I've never been to the like a like a big times.
- 22:23Speaker 6: I wouldn't say, like seat George. And it's my takeaways
- 22:27Speaker 6: always like it's more way more violent in person, because
- 22:30Speaker 6: like you said, you hear that, you hear the body shots,
- 22:33Speaker 6: you hear people like hit the four. Yeah, they get
- 22:36Speaker 6: knocked out, whatever it is. And what was the most
- 22:38Speaker 6: like violent bloody thing that you saw in a fight?
- 22:44Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 22:44Speaker 3: So like Max was pretty beat up, like he had
- 22:48Speaker 3: some Yeah, Max was, he looked So we were also
- 22:52Speaker 3: talking about this yesterday, Like Max won every round except
- 22:55Speaker 3: for maybe round two of that fight, Like round two
- 22:58Speaker 3: was probably Dustin's best round, but like Max looked worse
- 23:03Speaker 3: face wise than Dustin did. But there was a one
- 23:08Speaker 3: knockout in the prelims that I saw that I was like, oh,
- 23:11Speaker 3: that was kind of brutal, like and because I love
- 23:13Speaker 3: when they go for the finish like they're hurt, and
- 23:16Speaker 3: like they could tell they're hurt, so they go for
- 23:18Speaker 3: the finish and they just start like nailing them with
- 23:21Speaker 3: punches and they have to like call it off or whatever.
- 23:24Speaker 3: But there was one I don't remember who it was,
- 23:25Speaker 3: but there was one in the prelims that was a
- 23:27Speaker 3: knockout that was pretty brutal. And then I think there
- 23:29Speaker 3: was a tap too. So like all the finishes were
- 23:32Speaker 3: in the prelims. Uh, the main card was all decisions.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Good have tried to finish him instead of jumped the gilly?
- 23:39Speaker 8: Yeah, I think so, but like he lives and dies
- 23:43Speaker 8: by it.
- 23:43Speaker 4: So and he submitted like before, like but like Max
- 23:47Speaker 4: had no guard. He heard it, he heard him, hands
- 23:50Speaker 4: were both on the ground. He could have he could have.
- 23:52Speaker 3: Went for the finish, And so they asked him that
- 23:55Speaker 3: after the fight. They were like, do you regret jumping
- 23:57Speaker 3: the gilly instead of just finishing him when he was hurt?
- 24:00Speaker 3: And he was like no, I thought that was gonna
- 24:02Speaker 3: be the one. And I was like, dude, you play
- 24:04Speaker 3: too much. I was like, you could have.
- 24:06Speaker 4: Knows like he was trying to get like that's the
- 24:08Speaker 4: way he wanted everything to finish, and I get it.
- 24:10Speaker 3: Yeah, So when that was happening, I started you can't record,
- 24:15Speaker 3: like if you're in the media or whatever in the
- 24:19Speaker 3: like little media area, you can't record the fight while
- 24:22Speaker 3: it's actually happening, right, You can between rounds, but you
- 24:25Speaker 3: can't record like the actual fighting are very Yeah, So
- 24:31Speaker 3: whenever Dustin had him hurt, I started recording the crowd
- 24:35Speaker 3: because I was like, oh, if he gets him, the
- 24:37Speaker 3: crowd is going to pop like crazy. So like I
- 24:41Speaker 3: got a kind of cool video of that, but like
- 24:43Speaker 3: he ended up not but yeah, other than that, like
- 24:45Speaker 3: it was, it was amazing, even though he did lose.
- 24:48Speaker 3: And uh when he put the gloves down and they
- 24:50Speaker 3: were playing Frank Sinatra's My Way, Yeah, and they were
- 24:54Speaker 3: also showing like before the fight video montages up there, and.
- 24:57Speaker 8: I just like had the chills the entire time.
- 25:00Speaker 4: I bet that was awesome.
- 25:01Speaker 8: Yeah, it was.
- 25:01Speaker 4: You got the bug.
- 25:02Speaker 5: Now there's gonna be like a UFC and San Jose
- 25:05Speaker 5: and they're like somebody from Baton Rougees trying to get
- 25:08Speaker 5: a credential here, right, and I'm gonna do it, like
- 25:14Speaker 5: I mean yeah, I mean.
- 25:17Speaker 4: Actually, I bet I bet if you put Louisiana sports
- 25:20Speaker 4: dot Net like with it having just like the Louisiana name,
- 25:23Speaker 4: like covering the entire state.
- 25:25Speaker 3: Yeah, Well, so Matt was like, if they don't want
- 25:28Speaker 3: the one O four five one. You can put dot
- 25:30Speaker 3: net on there, but I got it with one four
- 25:32Speaker 3: five ESPN. But yeah, it was it was great.
- 25:36Speaker 2: We are the fighters now that you will you would
- 25:40Speaker 2: travel to go see now that you got I.
- 25:42Speaker 3: Would go see Ilio Taporia for sure his next fight,
- 25:46Speaker 3: especially if it's with Patty because I love both of them,
- 25:49Speaker 3: Like both of them are my fades.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Some kind of some cringey trash talk last time and.
- 25:55Speaker 8: The Yeah, I was like, cool, I do love that.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Joe's like Joe Rogan was like, oh, I know who
- 26:04Speaker 3: you're talking about. I called him into the ring, but
- 26:10Speaker 3: at all I wish he was there on Saturday. But
- 26:14Speaker 3: Daniel Cormier was on the yes and yeah, yeah, for sure,
- 26:20Speaker 3: i'd go see Ay. I did meet this guy from Paris.
- 26:25Speaker 3: He was like with a sports organization over there, and
- 26:29Speaker 3: well this is I was telling Taylor to like everybody
- 26:32Speaker 3: that I met in the media was super cool, like
- 26:35Speaker 3: the they were awesome.
- 26:37Speaker 8: Uh and I don't feel like that's always the experience
- 26:40Speaker 8: that I have.
- 26:41Speaker 3: Last week, yeah, right, but I met that guy from
- 26:52Speaker 3: from Paris and he was like, oh, you should go
- 26:54Speaker 3: to the one in September coming up.
- 26:57Speaker 8: The USC event in Paris in September, and I was.
- 26:59Speaker 3: Like, that sounds like out way out my budget, So
- 27:03Speaker 3: I won't be there, but I hope you have a
- 27:05Speaker 3: good time. But he was saying he goes to all
- 27:06Speaker 3: the pay per views. Oh wow, I'm like, that's a
- 27:09Speaker 3: lot of international travel. Yeah, coming over literally like once
- 27:13Speaker 3: a month. Yeah, crazy for you.
- 27:16Speaker 2: What's your expense report?
- 27:18Speaker 3: Right?
- 27:19Speaker 5: Signing off on that, How's Friday? How Monday go? Sitting
- 27:25Speaker 5: here hosting for us? I feel like you probably had
- 27:28Speaker 5: enough content to be able to Wed Man.
- 27:31Speaker 7: That's stuff we didn't even get to. I mean we
- 27:34Speaker 7: we we let it rip. Friday was fun, Yesterday a
- 27:37Speaker 7: little bit more sports heavy. Friday was a little bit
- 27:39Speaker 7: more lighthearted. But we had a great time. You know,
- 27:41Speaker 7: it's weird.
- 27:42Speaker 2: I woke up this morning.
- 27:43Speaker 7: I was like, oh man, I don't have to hope
- 27:46Speaker 7: be a little bit boring today. Uh uh, Well I
- 27:53Speaker 7: didn't get to that yesterday. Critical after the show, We'll
- 27:56Speaker 7: we'll get to today.
- 27:58Speaker 2: Jerry.
- 28:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 28:03Speaker 2: I wish Jerry Jones would get out you know what twitching,
- 28:05Speaker 2: what's happening.
- 28:07Speaker 4: Out of my life?
- 28:08Speaker 9: Just get out of my life, Just get out of
- 28:11Speaker 9: your life. What are you talking about the best player
- 28:13Speaker 9: in your franchise? Unprompted by the way, they didn't ask him, Hey,
- 28:17Speaker 9: what do you think about Michael Parsons injury concerns? He's like, well,
- 28:19Speaker 9: you know, even if we sign him, are we really
- 28:21Speaker 9: gonna have him? I mean, the guy missed six games
- 28:23Speaker 9: last year? Jerry Like, why are you dumping on your franchise?
- 28:28Speaker 5: Guy who you're in the middle of contract, always champions
- 28:32Speaker 5: the Cowboys?
- 28:32Speaker 2: Oh guess what price?
- 28:34Speaker 4: Everything he's ever on, He's like, Cowboys, Cowboys, Calvin.
- 28:39Speaker 6: We're talking about the Cowboys and Batan Urselis and I
- 28:41Speaker 6: guess what they're doing in Seattle right now talking about
- 28:45Speaker 6: the Cowboys. Guess they're doing in New York City talking
- 28:47Speaker 6: about the Cowboys. Jerry Jones is a brilliant person. I
- 28:51Speaker 6: heard an analogy of him recently and I loved it.
- 28:53Speaker 6: He's like, he's the modern day P. T. Barnum, That
- 28:58Speaker 6: son of a gun. Now we can sell a circus,
- 29:01Speaker 6: Am I right? And he probably his goal. Here's the
- 29:05Speaker 6: modern day P. T. Barnum And what he's doing is
- 29:09Speaker 6: unbelievable because everybody saw and every it's every single year.
- 29:12Speaker 6: It doesn't matter how bad they are, how good they are?
- 29:15Speaker 6: They do something that everybody thinks is dumb or everything.
- 29:19Speaker 6: Everyone thinks it's cringey or like bad business, but it's
- 29:22Speaker 6: all amazing.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Jerry.
- 29:24Speaker 7: Jerry will say something, know what it's going to get
- 29:26Speaker 7: traction and in my opinion, just stall processes. Hey, we're
- 29:30Speaker 7: talking about in the media all the time and we
- 29:32Speaker 7: continue to turn a profit. Did my job like you
- 29:34Speaker 7: did your job as owner? Haven't done your job as
- 29:37Speaker 7: g which is the major problem we are.
- 29:39Speaker 2: In Jerry's world.
- 29:41Speaker 4: Did you ever like, did you ever talk with the Cowboys?
- 29:44Speaker 4: Come close to signing with the Cowboys?
- 29:45Speaker 6: Yeah, in twenty fifteen, I went down there. So that
- 29:49Speaker 6: was what we needed you that year too, So that
- 29:51Speaker 6: that was the year that I was with Patriots forward
- 29:54Speaker 6: the Flate gate.
- 29:55Speaker 2: And then I was with the Jets when they screwed me. Yeah,
- 29:58Speaker 2: yeah sweet mustard Jets.
- 30:00Speaker 3: Uh.
- 30:00Speaker 6: And then a couple of weeks ago yeah food man
- 30:03Speaker 6: chew the four because I always like grew up some
- 30:05Speaker 6: sort of facial hair out for the fourth pre season game,
- 30:07Speaker 6: so I had mancher.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I had these.
- 30:08Speaker 6: Beautiful curly lots sticking out the back of my It
- 30:11Speaker 6: looked like, uh, our guy in the towarter France, our
- 30:13Speaker 6: American and the fan Quinn.
- 30:15Speaker 2: I dropped some dimes and then I got cut the
- 30:17Speaker 2: next day.
- 30:19Speaker 6: And then I went and worked out for the Cowboys
- 30:23Speaker 6: because I can't remember who the quarterback was.
- 30:26Speaker 2: Well, we were four and twelve that year. Yeah, and
- 30:29Speaker 2: Romo got hurt. Romo got hurt, I believe.
- 30:34Speaker 7: I think it may have been Kyle Orton for a
- 30:36Speaker 7: few games, and then it was it was like three
- 30:39Speaker 7: guys was kind of the man and then I'll know,
- 30:42Speaker 7: but this was this was the tale that he got hurt.
- 30:45Speaker 6: And then there was about three We were thirty first
- 30:47Speaker 6: in the league, and it was me, Christian Ponder, Josh Johnson,
- 30:51Speaker 6: and something like the THEA something but they had two
- 30:56Speaker 6: last names.
- 30:57Speaker 4: Yeah, and so we all four last name. Guy got it.
- 31:02Speaker 6: So we worked out and then we were like I
- 31:06Speaker 6: was spending it good. They send everybody home. They keep
- 31:08Speaker 6: me there talking about agent. I'm in the locker, I'm
- 31:11Speaker 6: having like lunch with the team and and they're like
- 31:14Speaker 6: little cafeteria and I'm just like, all right, they're just
- 31:16Speaker 6: going to put the numbers together, put the contract together,
- 31:18Speaker 6: blah blah blah. I was like, all right, I'm gonna
- 31:20Speaker 6: be starting for the Cowboys next week, right, and like
- 31:23Speaker 6: all right, cool.
- 31:25Speaker 2: I was sitting in the locker.
- 31:26Speaker 6: Room and like talking to Jason Whitten in the locker
- 31:28Speaker 6: because I'd seen him like down at like I kind
- 31:30Speaker 6: of knew him a little, seeing him at the beach.
- 31:33Speaker 6: And then an hour turns into two hours, two hours
- 31:38Speaker 6: turns into three hours, and I'm like like, what's happening?
- 31:41Speaker 4: Right?
- 31:42Speaker 6: Yeah, Like four hours later, me just sitting there, my
- 31:45Speaker 6: agent calls me. It's like, hey, sending you back to
- 31:48Speaker 6: the airport. They're signing Maccastle. Ah Orton was the year
- 31:55Speaker 6: before it was Mac. It was they signed him, and
- 31:59Speaker 6: I was like, bring his ass down here. I would
- 32:02Speaker 6: have outthrown him too.
- 32:04Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 32:04Speaker 7: You threw a five touchdown seven picks that year.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Some bang up job there. So yeah, I was that
- 32:09Speaker 2: close away to playing for my childhood and yeah, didn't
- 32:16Speaker 2: get it. But I signed with the Saints like yeah
- 32:18Speaker 2: a weekly.
- 32:18Speaker 4: Yeah it works out until.
- 32:22Speaker 2: Started for the Cowboys.
- 32:23Speaker 5: Yeah, no, we gotta take a because we gotta take
- 32:25Speaker 5: our break. But I remember when my first time was
- 32:27Speaker 5: a free agent and they're not supposed to do this,
- 32:30Speaker 5: but agents do. They've been talking to teams because I
- 32:33Speaker 5: was coming up and my agent's like, hey, I got
- 32:36Speaker 5: a team.
- 32:36Speaker 2: That really likes you.
- 32:38Speaker 4: Gonna be a lot closer to your hometown.
- 32:40Speaker 5: I'm like, okay, cool Saints Cowboys, right, And I started
- 32:45Speaker 5: looking at houses New Orleans and Dallas.
- 32:47Speaker 4: It was Tampa.
- 32:49Speaker 5: I'm like, t Bob when it comes to geography, like Tampa,
- 32:56Speaker 5: it's not close down there somewhere.
- 32:58Speaker 4: Yeah, it's like Dallas, New Orleans, US goes Houston, maybe Houston,
- 33:02Speaker 4: Mike yet, maybe Houston. Yeah, but I don't know why
- 33:05Speaker 4: it's like Dallas and New Orleans.
- 33:06Speaker 5: Well, yes, campus like obvious reasons, wasn't that much farther
- 33:09Speaker 5: to San Diego. So that's as close as they got
- 33:12Speaker 5: to Dallas. Because I thought maybe he was talking about Dallas.
- 33:14Speaker 5: And on that note, we'll take a break more otb
- 33:16Speaker 5: when we jump back off the bench, all right, go
- 33:20Speaker 5: to go Tommy's g ea Ux, Tommy's wothey dot Com,
- 33:24Speaker 5: go Tommy's Tommy's windows, doors and siding, and look, you'll
- 33:29Speaker 5: clearly see the difference when you go to the homepage.
- 33:32Speaker 5: But also like you see right there if you're watching
- 33:34Speaker 5: on YouTube sixteen seventeen, eighteen nineteen twenty twenty one, and
- 33:38Speaker 5: so on and so forth.
- 33:39Speaker 4: They win awards. That's what they do.
- 33:41Speaker 5: They stack awards for the work that they do, the

- 36:03Speaker 4: All right, so just to get started, it's kind of
- 36:06Speaker 4: like the guests that we have coming up today. We're
- 36:08Speaker 4: gonna have Will Clapp, Saints offensive lineman, of course, former
- 36:11Speaker 4: LSU offensive lineman join us in about thirty minutes from now.
- 36:15Speaker 4: Then we're gonna have Blake.
- 36:16Speaker 5: Baker, lshu's defensive coordinator join us at eight thirty. And
- 36:19Speaker 5: of course it's Tuesday, so Nick Underhill new once stop football.
- 36:23Speaker 5: But just to get it started, it's here.
- 36:26Speaker 4: It is football season. It is training camp. It is
- 36:31Speaker 4: the suck of getting ready for a season, and that's.
- 36:34Speaker 2: What time it is.
- 36:35Speaker 4: And we have made it here.
- 36:37Speaker 5: We've had media days, we've had talking season, but now
- 36:41Speaker 5: having players getting ready for camp. Having coaches, you know,
- 36:44Speaker 5: vacation is over. Our guests today are gonna tell us
- 36:48Speaker 5: about camp and kind of that last little millisecond of
- 36:52Speaker 5: a break before you get started, before it is over,
- 36:56Speaker 5: before you shut the door, lock the door, and throw away.
- 36:59Speaker 2: The yeah, the uh.
- 37:02Speaker 6: It's the calm before the storm. Certainly for players, it's
- 37:07Speaker 6: certainly a big calm before a big old storm. I mean,
- 37:11Speaker 6: as a former player, me and Hesse are like man
- 37:14Speaker 6: like the Saints they're reporting tomorrow. I'm sure most NFL
- 37:17Speaker 6: teams are reporting the next couple of days. I think
- 37:20Speaker 6: colleges are in like another week or so. I don't
- 37:25Speaker 6: miss that feeling. No before training camp, which was a
- 37:31Speaker 6: like remember what like as a kid you get nervous
- 37:33Speaker 6: for games, like and you got butterflies in your seming.
- 37:35Speaker 6: I never really got those like terribly when I was
- 37:37Speaker 6: like later in college and the NFL mean you get
- 37:41Speaker 6: eat up nerves, but like before training camp, it was
- 37:43Speaker 6: like little literal nerves like going into because it's like
- 37:47Speaker 6: I know what it's about to happen. Yeah, and me
- 37:50Speaker 6: like less than anybody else being a quarterback, because like
- 37:53Speaker 6: just the physical grind when they're hitting that.
- 37:57Speaker 4: That part wasn't I didn't like that. I actually didn't
- 38:01Speaker 4: mind that at all.
- 38:02Speaker 5: Like the physical nature of training camp, even when we
- 38:05Speaker 5: got into the league and it was old school two days,
- 38:08Speaker 5: I didn't care about that. I just hated to be
- 38:11Speaker 5: in there all damn day and staying in some random
- 38:14Speaker 5: either dorm room or a hotel, some ramata in and
- 38:19Speaker 5: you wake up at six, you're at the facility for
- 38:22Speaker 5: six thirty, and you don't get back to your room
- 38:24Speaker 5: until like ten, ten thirty. Yep, Like that's what I hated, like,
- 38:28Speaker 5: especially like later in your career when you you know
- 38:31Speaker 5: every like you know the playbook, you know the ins
- 38:34Speaker 5: and outs, you know what it takes to get ready
- 38:36Speaker 5: for the season, and it's like this is stupid.
- 38:39Speaker 6: I hate yeah, just staying like in an uncomfortable place
- 38:42Speaker 6: and turning camp schedules like meant to make you uncomfortable
- 38:45Speaker 6: all the time.
- 38:45Speaker 2: And then it's just your body's just not right.
- 38:47Speaker 6: Like after the first day, you're sore, something's hurting, You're
- 38:52Speaker 6: you're grinding all day in meetings, workouts, practices, walk throughs,
- 38:59Speaker 6: and then oh yeah, like you're also sore as hell.
- 39:02Speaker 6: So any free time you have you're in the training
- 39:04Speaker 6: room either getting like active hands on treatment or in
- 39:09Speaker 6: the tubs or doing something.
- 39:11Speaker 2: So it's like there's never a down moment in training camp.
- 39:14Speaker 6: Like maybe you get twenty minutes to like we would
- 39:18Speaker 6: play like backgame or something in the locker room, like
- 39:20Speaker 6: or a card game or something. You'd stay up a
- 39:23Speaker 6: little bit later than you should because that's the only
- 39:26Speaker 6: free time you had to like talk about something else
- 39:29Speaker 6: or like a game or just like.
- 39:30Speaker 5: Oh, we say you stay down there at snack, and
- 39:32Speaker 5: you know that's that's really like those snack moments, at
- 39:36Speaker 5: least for us and the teams I played for, Like
- 39:38Speaker 5: that was the team bonding.
- 39:39Speaker 4: Yeah, certainly in San Diego.
- 39:41Speaker 5: Like we would sit around a table and we'd all
- 39:43Speaker 5: be you know, one last little snack and usually the
- 39:45Speaker 5: special teams coaches down there stirring the pot and we'd have,
- 39:49Speaker 5: you know, guys from all over the country and like, hey,
- 39:52Speaker 5: how do you say this word where you're from?
- 39:54Speaker 4: Well, why do you say it like that? That's stupid?
- 39:56Speaker 2: Yeah, well you're down. My high school team is better
- 39:59Speaker 2: than your high school tea.
- 40:00Speaker 4: Yeah, blah blah.
- 40:00Speaker 6: But there's always that one or two coaches that love
- 40:03Speaker 6: hearing themselves talk and we love telling stories about themselves,
- 40:06Speaker 6: so like that always made for some good like either some.
- 40:11Speaker 2: Some coaches told great stories and you just listened to.
- 40:14Speaker 4: Was a great storytelling.
- 40:16Speaker 5: He would tell John Gruden stories every day because he
- 40:18Speaker 5: was with him when they were winning the Super Bowl.
- 40:20Speaker 2: Yep. But it was like a snack and crushed some
- 40:23Speaker 2: lucky charms at night.
- 40:25Speaker 6: But yeah, we would play games afterwards too, so we'd
- 40:27Speaker 6: always like get big games like cribbage just like I
- 40:30Speaker 6: don't know. It was mostly in Green Bay, so we
- 40:32Speaker 6: played like weird card games.
- 40:34Speaker 4: And like, hey, look I just went to Green Bay.
- 40:37Speaker 2: I get it. I learned how to play a lot
- 40:40Speaker 2: of games up there.
- 40:43Speaker 6: But right now, from this side of the table looking in, it's, yeah,
- 40:47Speaker 6: we're kind of excited because we're so close to having
- 40:50Speaker 6: like actual tangible things to talk about and break down
- 40:53Speaker 6: and say this is good, this is bad. But it's
- 40:58Speaker 6: gonna be a little while, even after training can start.
- 41:00Speaker 6: It's like you're gonna see these little snippets of oh,
- 41:02Speaker 6: Jary No, Smyter look good today, what do you mean,
- 41:04Speaker 6: Like Brout's on air look good?
- 41:06Speaker 2: Like you know what I mean.
- 41:07Speaker 6: That's that's cool and everything and I know that, like Saints,
- 41:10Speaker 6: practice is going to be open and so we will
- 41:12Speaker 6: have things to break down them. But really until those
- 41:16Speaker 6: games started, preseason games, it's like we're so close to
- 41:19Speaker 6: having that. Yeah, like I said, the tangible things to
- 41:23Speaker 6: actually sit here break down next as and no'se but
- 41:26Speaker 6: so fired up, Like I'm just football season is.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Just like on the brink.
- 41:30Speaker 5: We're so some teams are already in camp. Some teams
- 41:34Speaker 5: in the NFL. I know the Chargers, they have the
- 41:36Speaker 5: Hall of Fame game. They're already in camp.
- 41:38Speaker 6: Yeah, played that, No, I didn't mean they played in
- 41:42Speaker 6: it like I think the year or two after I
- 41:43Speaker 6: had left Green Bay because Brett Farr was going getting
- 41:47Speaker 6: inducted it.
- 41:48Speaker 4: Then, right, this is for Antonio Gates, so they know.
- 41:52Speaker 6: And for those of y'all who don't know the two
- 41:54Speaker 6: teams that play, I'm pretty sure every time or usually
- 41:57Speaker 6: they have it.
- 41:57Speaker 4: This time, this time it's just one. They're playing allions.
- 42:00Speaker 4: But yeah, typically it's.
- 42:02Speaker 6: Typically both teams have somebody being inducted. That's why they're
- 42:05Speaker 6: invited to play in that game and to celebrate, you know,
- 42:08Speaker 6: one of those one or two of those people that
- 42:09Speaker 6: are getting inducted. But that is a game that was
- 42:12Speaker 6: nobody wanted to do because preseason games suck unless you're
- 42:19Speaker 6: a guy that isn't supposed to make the team and
- 42:22Speaker 6: you're trying to make the team.
- 42:23Speaker 2: They're not fun. I get the purpose of them. I
- 42:26Speaker 2: get the reason. But four was a lot. Yeah.
- 42:29Speaker 6: Now, then when we were playing, you throw another one
- 42:31Speaker 6: on there that made it five, like five games. People
- 42:35Speaker 6: are putting their livelihoods and contracts on the line for
- 42:41Speaker 6: what you get, like three four hundred bucks a week.
- 42:44Speaker 6: They're in training game.
- 42:45Speaker 2: For eighty four and eighty bucks a week. That's fine.
- 42:48Speaker 2: It's like a scholarship check.
- 42:49Speaker 4: Better for you than me.
- 42:51Speaker 2: It's just like a scholarship.
- 42:53Speaker 4: All right, we'll take a last break of hour number
- 42:55Speaker 4: one again.
- 42:56Speaker 5: We've got Will Clapp joining us in about twenty five
- 42:59Speaker 5: minutes from now. Blake Baker right after that, stay locked
- 43:01Speaker 5: in here to otb off the bench.
- 43:05Speaker 2: All right.
- 43:05Speaker 4: It is always a great time.
- 43:07Speaker 2: To go forward.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Dose, right, We talked about it all the time.
- 43:12Speaker 5: Beach beer, lake beer, river beer, pull beer, whatever, right,
- 43:15Speaker 5: airport beer if you're hanging out with friends, beer if
- 43:18Speaker 5: you're enjoying some good fajitas, beer like whatever it is.
- 43:21Speaker 4: If you're buy the grill. If you want to chill,
- 43:23Speaker 4: go ahead, grab a do Seqis.
- 43:25Speaker 5: They even have a website. I don't know if you've
- 43:27Speaker 5: heard about this. You can go to their website Dosequis
- 43:30Speaker 5: dot col I heard. It's a great place for all
- 43:33Speaker 5: the information when you want to go for dose.
- 43:35Speaker 6: So go tovey double Ford slash w w W. They're
- 43:41Speaker 6: gonna ask you to verify your age when you go
- 43:42Speaker 6: to that website. Yeah, that was a good, really good
- 43:46Speaker 6: moment for me. But it made Do Seki's memorable and
- 43:48Speaker 6: it should be. You know what else made it memorable
- 43:50Speaker 6: every time somebody saw us outside of the show. Yep,
- 43:53Speaker 6: Jake and Matt had a Dose Seki's in hand, that
- 43:55Speaker 6: beautiful green bottle, that beautiful Mexican laga. Get some to
- 43:59Speaker 6: date ready for the weekend. How about how about a
- 44:01Speaker 6: midwek beer? Kidding me go for dose? Those seconds.
- 44:11Speaker 1: Two thousand and seven champs for boll and Gold to
- 44:14Speaker 1: the core. This is off the Bench with Hester and Flynn,
- 44:18Speaker 1: Baton Rougees go to for all things Louisiana sports.
- 44:30Speaker 2: It's all right looking back.
- 44:32Speaker 5: Here and OTV in hour number two, I do want
- 44:34Speaker 5: to play a video my former quarterback PR seventeen officially retiring.
- 44:40Speaker 5: Over the last couple of years, he's had teams kind
- 44:42Speaker 5: of reach out and you know, maybe in the eleventh
- 44:44Speaker 5: hour he joined them.
- 44:45Speaker 4: But he is coaching high school football.
- 44:47Speaker 5: His son is one of the top recruits in the country,
- 44:49Speaker 5: and he decided to officially retire.
- 44:52Speaker 4: And I want to play some of that. But did
- 44:55Speaker 4: you know, Matthew, the moment that you're like, all right,
- 44:58Speaker 4: this is I'm done, this is I'm ready.
- 45:01Speaker 2: No, for sure, I did too.
- 45:03Speaker 5: Like I was actually with the Saints about to go
- 45:05Speaker 5: to the Greenbrier, and just like in Harlem Nights when
- 45:10Speaker 5: he's like, yeah, I'm not coming home anymore, I was like,
- 45:12Speaker 5: I'm not going to the Greenbrier anymore.
- 45:15Speaker 2: I'm good.
- 45:15Speaker 4: I'm done. You can't.
- 45:17Speaker 5: You can't half step into an NFL season, And I
- 45:19Speaker 5: knew that. I didn't want to be disrespectful to the Saints,
- 45:21Speaker 5: so I was like.
- 45:22Speaker 6: I'm done. I was done my last year or two.
- 45:26Speaker 6: I was done a couple of times. Well, like there
- 45:28Speaker 6: was this one time I was really done, and I
- 45:30Speaker 6: do it. And I think I've told the story on
- 45:32Speaker 6: air before, but I can't tell it in fifteen seconds,
- 45:35Speaker 6: so I'll tell it later. That's called a radio team.
- 45:38Speaker 6: Oh yeah, I sees you for a few segments because
- 45:40Speaker 6: we got some guests lined up.
- 45:41Speaker 5: Well, not at eight o'clock. You can tell us when
- 45:43Speaker 5: we come back and look at that. We'll play the video.
- 45:45Speaker 5: It's a whole retirement segment coming up. More OTB hour
- 45:50Speaker 5: number two when we come back. One of four five
- 45:52Speaker 5: ESPN banners off the bench.
- 45:55Speaker 2: I was actually in the garden.
- 45:57Speaker 5: When Carmelo had his first game with the Knicks, and
- 46:00Speaker 5: he's from there, and they played that over the loudspeakers
- 46:03Speaker 5: pretty good.
- 46:04Speaker 2: That song. Took me a second to realize you're coming
- 46:07Speaker 2: up Madison Square Garden.
