- 0:01Speaker 1: There were a fair amount of Supreme Court decisions that
- 0:05Speaker 1: came out yesterday, some doozies. Now it's all eyes today
- 0:10Speaker 1: on the court because they're going to decide birthright citizenship.
- 0:13Speaker 1: And I I do not see where they're going to
- 0:17Speaker 1: make a change. Tony Katz in ninety three WIBC, Good morning,
- 0:21Speaker 1: Good to be with you. The question is the idea
- 0:26Speaker 1: of the fourteenth Amendment and subject to the jurisdiction thereof,
- 0:32Speaker 1: and whether or not someone born in the United States
- 0:35Speaker 1: is de facto a US citizen right We call that
- 0:40Speaker 1: birthright citizenship, and it has been used against us. The
- 0:44Speaker 1: fourteenth Amendment reads all persons born or naturalized in the
- 0:47Speaker 1: United States and subjects of the jurisdiction thereof are citizens
- 0:50Speaker 1: of the United States and of the state wherein they reside. Now,
- 0:54Speaker 1: if someone has come to the country illegally had a
- 0:57Speaker 1: child here, is that subject to the jury diction thereof.
- 1:01Speaker 1: The jurisdiction would not be to a specific state, but
- 1:04Speaker 1: rather would be to the nation at large. And I
- 1:08Speaker 1: believe that the answer here needs to be no. Now,
- 1:12Speaker 1: the question is what is the answer here? What does
- 1:17Speaker 1: the text tell us? How is that interpreted? That's the
- 1:20Speaker 1: job of the Supreme Court, to the extent that there
- 1:24Speaker 1: is a tremendous amount of prior conversation about this, that
- 1:28Speaker 1: there's precedent to this, Well, I'm going to leave that
- 1:31Speaker 1: to some constitutional experts.
- 1:32Speaker 2: I'm going to give you where I'm.
- 1:34Speaker 1: At, which is, no matter what gets ruled today, it
- 1:41Speaker 1: is very clear Congress has to go about making changes.
- 1:45Speaker 2: To be to engage clarity.
- 1:48Speaker 1: No, you don't get to come to the United States,
- 1:50Speaker 1: have a baby here and then be able to you know,
- 1:53Speaker 1: have a US citizen and we call it anchor baby,
- 1:55Speaker 1: whatever the case may be.
- 1:57Speaker 2: We have to stop this wholeheartedly.
- 1:59Speaker 1: And people who don't want to stop this, these people
- 2:01Speaker 1: are a danger to the nation and we shouldn't vote
- 2:03Speaker 1: for them.
- 2:03Speaker 2: We shouldn't vote for the people they support.
- 2:05Speaker 1: We should push them to the side as the absolute
- 2:08Speaker 1: anti American, anti humanity zealots that they are. They're not
- 2:13Speaker 1: good people. We should say so clearly and without any
- 2:18Speaker 1: hesitation whatsoever.
- 2:21Speaker 2: But that's what's coming today.
- 2:23Speaker 1: What came yesterday was a host of things, including mail
- 2:27Speaker 1: in ballots, where the court said, yes, if you have
- 2:33Speaker 1: a ballots that are postmarked on election day, they can
- 2:38Speaker 1: be counted after election day not the decision I wanted,
- 2:42Speaker 1: not the decision I would come to. Amy Cony Barrett
- 2:45Speaker 1: is very very peculiar here. Of course, the liberal justices
- 2:49Speaker 1: all voted for it because they don't They don't ever adjudicate,
- 2:53Speaker 1: They only vote. You know exactly what they're doing. They're
- 2:56Speaker 1: partisans from beginning to end. Only in the rarest cases,
- 2:58Speaker 1: are they not. In the vast majority of cases, Alena
- 3:01Speaker 1: Kagan Sonya Soda Mayor, and Katania Brown Jackson are terrible
- 3:05Speaker 1: leftist partisans. Because we're now deciding that the Post Office
- 3:12Speaker 1: decides when an election day is.
- 3:16Speaker 2: Election day is the day, that's the day you elect somebody.
- 3:21Speaker 2: That's it. But one of the other things that came.
- 3:26Speaker 1: Out was the idea of whether or not the President
- 3:28Speaker 1: of the United States can fire people.
- 3:34Speaker 2: It's the Slaughter decision.
- 3:40Speaker 1: This is about a member of the Federal Trade Commission
- 3:43Speaker 1: by the name of Rebecca Slaughter, and whether or not
- 3:44Speaker 1: the president can say.
- 3:46Speaker 2: You're fired, You're gone.
- 3:48Speaker 1: And what the court decided six' to three decision was that,
- 3:52Speaker 1: yes the president can fire leaders of independent. Agencies, now
- 3:56Speaker 1: somehow that isn't applying to THE, fed which is a
- 4:00Speaker 1: whole weird. Thing we'll get into that. Later this brings
- 4:03Speaker 1: us to the popcorn.
- 4:04Speaker 2: Moment let's, go let's, go let's, go let's, go let's.
- 4:06Speaker 2: Go it's the story you need to hear to. Believe
- 4:09Speaker 2: then grab your, popcorn because there is.
- 4:11Speaker 1: More and you have a tremendous amount of people on
- 4:16Speaker 1: the political left.
- 4:18Speaker 2: Who cannot square the circle.
- 4:22Speaker 1: That the president can fire people because they are so
- 4:28Speaker 1: absolutely obsessed With trump that they don't understand that we're
- 4:31Speaker 1: talking about the presidency and not the. Person if the
- 4:36Speaker 1: chief executive can't fire, people then what is the power
- 4:40Speaker 1: of the chief? Executive and this was the what is
- 4:46Speaker 1: she the legal analyst FOR msnbc or MS now on
- 4:51Speaker 1: With Morning joe and that pseudo intellectual morning.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Show listen to this.
- 4:58Speaker 3: Other thing THAT i want to point out about the sl.
- 5:00Speaker 3: Opinion that's the opinion through which they have said the
- 5:03Speaker 3: president now has the power to fire members of independent
- 5:07Speaker 3: agencies or these multi member. Commissions if you Read Chief
- 5:11Speaker 3: justice Is robert's opinion in that. Case one of the
- 5:14Speaker 3: things that is really scary about it is it's not
- 5:17Speaker 3: just about independent. Agencies it suggests that the president has
- 5:21Speaker 3: the constitutional authority to fire any, subordinate meaning he doesn't
- 5:26Speaker 3: just have.
- 5:26Speaker 2: The fire the power to Fire Rebecca.
- 5:28Speaker 3: Slaughter he might have the power to fire somebody Like Maureen,
- 5:30Speaker 3: komy a career prosecutor here in The Southern district Of New.
- 5:34Speaker 2: York who cares that she's a career.
- 5:36Speaker 1: Prosecutor you picked her because she's the daughter Of James,
- 5:39Speaker 1: comy the low.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Life the president can't fire. People what kind of nonsense is?
- 5:48Speaker 1: This, well this is the nonsense when you believe that
- 5:51Speaker 1: all government jobs should be, protected they should be life for,
- 5:53Speaker 1: jobs and we need to keep these people where they,
- 5:56Speaker 1: are and we have to not allow any president to
- 5:59Speaker 1: be able to remove. Them, Now democrats will never remove
- 6:01Speaker 1: them because that's who they. Favor you actually want a
- 6:06Speaker 1: world where people can't be removed for any. Reason the
- 6:10Speaker 1: president doesn't have the ability to put in other.
- 6:12Speaker 2: People that is.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Surreal that is that is cull to esque and that's
- 6:21Speaker 1: where they. Are and there's position after. POSITION i can't
- 6:24Speaker 1: believe they let the president do. This how could you not.
- 6:28Speaker 2: Any, President, Republican, democrat what have? You how can you
- 6:33Speaker 2: not allow them to do? This that's the.
- 6:36Speaker 1: Question mind boggling their, positioning but really can be understood
- 6:42Speaker 1: as their position is you shouldn't be allowed any.
- 6:46Speaker 2: Power only they should be allowed.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Power and why would they ever fire anybody when they
- 6:51Speaker 1: only want government to grow and put more of their
- 6:53Speaker 1: people in the places to get the results that they.
- 6:56Speaker 2: WANT i, mean that's what they're admitting
