- 0:19SPEAKER_02: Kim, take it away.
- 0:20SPEAKER_04: Woohoo! I am so happy to have my dear friend Katie join us today.
- 0:25SPEAKER_04: I love Katie.
- 0:26SPEAKER_04: I have watched her grow.
- 0:28SPEAKER_04: Um, and I'll let I'm not gonna go too deep in what she is because we're gonna ask her questions, but I've watched Katie grow since moving to Colorado, and I am just so incredibly proud of you, Katie.
- 0:40SPEAKER_04: Like I just have watched you grow and I'm just yeah, you just my heart just goes out to you because you have done amazing even through the COVID.
- 0:49SPEAKER_04: Like you were phenomenal.
- 0:50SPEAKER_04: So um thank you.
- 0:52SPEAKER_04: But yeah, can we ask you some questions?
- 0:54SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 0:55SPEAKER_04: Good to know you.
- 0:56SPEAKER_04: Awesome.
- 0:57SPEAKER_04: Well, good.
- 0:58SPEAKER_04: So tell us some things about yourself so we can get to know you better and our audience.
- 1:02SPEAKER_04: Like, do you have pets?
- 1:03SPEAKER_04: What kind of hobbies do you have?
- 1:05SPEAKER_04: Your favorite place to eat.
- 1:06SPEAKER_04: So if anybody comes to visit you in Denver, Colorado, like your go-to place.
- 1:11SPEAKER_04: Um, and your favorite place to travel.
- 1:13SPEAKER_04: And I know this because you are a travel extraordinaire.
- 1:18SPEAKER_00: So yeah, I love traveling.
- 1:19SPEAKER_00: That's probably my favorite hobby.
- 1:21SPEAKER_00: So that is your hobby there.
- 1:23SPEAKER_00: Like working out and weightlifting.
- 1:25SPEAKER_00: And um, I have a dog named Stella.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: She's my little sub.
- 1:30SPEAKER_00: And otherwise, I'm just, you know, working.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: I started Clean Queen about five years ago.
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Um, and before that, I owned a cleaning business in Hawaii for about eight years.
- 1:39SPEAKER_00: So I've been running a cleaning service for 13 years now.
- 1:43SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 1:44SPEAKER_04: And what is your favorite place to eat?
- 1:45SPEAKER_04: If you had to bring people here in Denver, would you take them in?
- 1:49SPEAKER_04: I don't know.
- 1:49SPEAKER_00: Well, I don't really know.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: I guess I do go out.
- 1:52SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I never go out.
- 1:53SPEAKER_00: I guess I do go out.
- 1:55SPEAKER_00: But not too often.
- 1:56SPEAKER_00: I mean, I have a group of cleaning business friends here, and we do meet up for lunch um every once in a while.
- 2:00SPEAKER_00: And they always have really good places, places I've never heard of because I just don't go out normally.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: So um, I don't know.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of there's a lot of really neat places down in Denver.
- 2:09SPEAKER_00: Um yeah.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: I don't sorry, I can't think of a.
- 2:14SPEAKER_04: I know I can't answer the Denver one either.
- 2:15SPEAKER_04: I mean, I could tell you, I mean, obviously, you and I could probably I could probably say, you know, what's up in Fort Collins and like up in our area, but yeah, Denver, I don't know.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I know my favorite restaurant in uh Fort Collins because I used to I lived there, but I just moved out here, and so yeah, I just I don't have much experience out here.
- 2:33SPEAKER_04: So if if if somebody came to visit you in Fort Collins, then where would you recommend them to go for your favorite restaurant?
- 2:38SPEAKER_04: Simmer.
- 2:39SPEAKER_00: Simmer is the best restaurant out there.
- 2:40SPEAKER_04: Never heard of it.
- 2:42SPEAKER_00: Oh, it's so good.
- 2:43SPEAKER_00: Um, you went to you're at Laura's Phoenix Rising thing if yes dinner there.
- 2:48SPEAKER_04: Okay, that was uh that was it, right?
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it was like it's in just the um you know little parking lot of the raintree athletics.
- 2:56SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes, yes.
- 2:57SPEAKER_00: Kind of like a little shopping center area, but I remember it's really good food.
- 3:01SPEAKER_02: So take it away, Shannon.
- 3:03SPEAKER_02: You want to ask the next question?
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: Sure.
- 3:06SPEAKER_02: Go ahead and um everybody has a different point of evolution on why and how they started their cleaning business.
- 3:12SPEAKER_02: Why don't you go ahead and tell us um the how and the why?
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: Well, um, yeah, so I first started in 2009 when I graduated college.
- 3:21SPEAKER_00: And uh it was mostly because, you know, the economy wasn't great, nobody was hiring, there were no jobs available.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: I was just getting out of college.
- 3:30SPEAKER_00: And my older sister, Laura, had started her cleaning service in Port Collins a few years prior.
- 3:35SPEAKER_00: And I would go home like when I was in college, you know, during my summer breaks and things like that, and help her clean and help her in the office and things.
- 3:42SPEAKER_00: And so when I was getting ready to graduate and I had no idea what I was gonna do, I just called her up and was like, What do you think I should do?
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: And she said, Oh, you should start a cleaning service.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: So awesome.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: Just followed Laura and she's been like an amazing, you know, mentor and helped me along the way as well.
- 3:59SPEAKER_02: Very cool.
- 4:00SPEAKER_02: If we could all only be lucky to have an older sibling to kind of guide us through the process, that's I know, right?
- 4:06SPEAKER_00: I'm I'm the lucky one.
- 4:08SPEAKER_00: She but she's um she's really amazing and she does a lot of research.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: Um, and she I was always so impressed with what what she's done even before I started in the industry.
- 4:18SPEAKER_03: So, what did you go to school for?
- 4:21SPEAKER_03: Business.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: Um business, okay.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 4:23SPEAKER_00: Theater.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: But business, you know, it's like business administration.
- 4:27SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 4:29SPEAKER_02: Well, you all pick that at some point.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: She can't run a business.
- 4:32SPEAKER_00: So what do I pick?
- 4:33SPEAKER_04: I'm like, oh, I better get this.
- 4:34SPEAKER_04: I know I went from sign language interpreter to owning a cleaning business, completely opposite.
- 4:40SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 4:41SPEAKER_04: So, but you know what?
- 4:42SPEAKER_04: You never know.
- 4:42SPEAKER_04: This stuff will come in handy.
- 4:44SPEAKER_04: So um, what do you think is your biggest challenge in the cleaning industry and how have you come overcome it?
- 4:50SPEAKER_00: So if you can help other companies out there that are I mean, I think everyone's biggest challenge is just the balance between hiring and having enough clients for those employees.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: So um that's always our biggest challenge is just keeping the schedule balanced, really, between having enough employees and having enough clients.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: So we we don't have a great solution, you know.
- 5:13SPEAKER_00: We just we try to keep ourselves overstaffed as best as possible.
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Um, and then we do have a system for rolling our clients where we try to not roll our clients more than once every six months.
- 5:25SPEAKER_00: Um, so we have a system around that that we use in Nate Central.
- 5:29SPEAKER_02: Okay, let's ask for the people who don't know what rolling is.
- 5:32SPEAKER_02: Can you give a little bit of a definition?
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's just what we have to ask our clients that are on their weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule if we can move them to the next day.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: Gotcha.
- 5:40SPEAKER_00: So we're just rolling them on in the next day.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: And then, because we usually have completely full schedules for our whole team.
- 5:46SPEAKER_00: So then if somebody calls out and we can't filter those jobs on other people's schedules, we really we have to ask if we can roll them to the next day.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: Um however, we don't want to be continuing to ask the same clients over and over again.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: So we really track that well and do our best to only ask them once every six months.
- 6:05SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 6:06SPEAKER_02: Now, do you have secret shoppers to fill in on your schedule for the newbies?
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: No, nope.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: We uh we had a field manager who our our uh our area is really big.
- 6:20SPEAKER_00: So our field manager was putting a lot of miles on our personal vehicle and decided just to step back um and do training for us, which I mean, we love her.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: She's amazing, she's an amazing trainer.
- 6:29SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, we uh don't really have anybody checking houses or anything like that right now.
- 6:36SPEAKER_02: Yeah, it's it's uh I I like the concept of having the secret shopper so um it can provide extra space in your schedule if you have newbies who are um trying to figure it out still.
- 6:48SPEAKER_02: So um what what kind of um and I'm gonna put you on the spot and you don't have to answer if you don't want to.
- 6:54SPEAKER_02: Um, how many girls do you currently have working or guys?
- 6:58SPEAKER_00: We've been stuck at 15 for a while, probably about a year now.
- 7:02SPEAKER_02: And they're all full-time or are they full-time part-time?
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: Yep, we have full-times.
- 7:06SPEAKER_02: Very cool.
- 7:07SPEAKER_02: And do you work in solos or teams?
- 7:09SPEAKER_00: Solos.
- 7:10SPEAKER_02: I like solos too.
- 7:11SPEAKER_02: I love solos.
- 7:12SPEAKER_02: It was like it's like solos is a game changer for sure.
- 7:15SPEAKER_02: Definitely.
- 7:16SPEAKER_02: It's more this is the most profitable business model I have found.
- 7:19SPEAKER_00: I've never run teams.
- 7:20SPEAKER_00: I tried it for a quick second and it just didn't work out for me.
- 7:24SPEAKER_02: So it's too much water between them all.
- 7:27SPEAKER_02: Lots of whining and complaining, and all kinds of things happen when you run teams for sure, especially when they're driving around the store.
- 7:33SPEAKER_00: Well, I mean, there's problems with both with all of it, you know.
- 7:35SPEAKER_02: Right, there is.
- 7:36SPEAKER_00: So just pick pick which ones you want to work on.
- 7:39SPEAKER_02: Then the nuances are definitely there.
- 7:43SPEAKER_02: And then um, what makes a good business owner, cleaning business owner?
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: I mean, I think just somebody that's willing to continue to learn.
- 7:52SPEAKER_02: I mean, there's 13 is always amazing.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: It takes so much, in my opinion, it takes so much to run a business, and there's so much to build.
- 8:00SPEAKER_00: And yes, you just need to constantly be learning and evolving, even if you think that you have it all, um, things change.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: So we we all have obviously during COVID, we had the biggest shift we've probably all ever dealt with.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: Um but yeah, just constantly uh working with a coach, working with um masterminding with other cleaning business owners, um, going to the industry events and just continuing to learn about our industry and how we can better our companies.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: I think that's really what makes a good business owner.
- 8:32SPEAKER_00: Definitely.
- 8:33SPEAKER_04: I definitely concur.
- 8:34SPEAKER_04: Yeah, exactly.
- 8:35SPEAKER_04: And you know that, you know, Katie, you've I've watched you and you've invested a lot of money back into your cleaning company with your training.
- 8:43SPEAKER_04: And I think that is something that a lot of new cleaning companies hesitate with is really finding the investment or to budget it in to take the trainings and go to these conventions and to learn all this stuff.
- 8:58SPEAKER_04: So do you feel like this is super important, like when starting a cleaning company?
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: Oh, yeah.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: I I mean, I I talk to a lot of people that do cleaning, especially out here in my area.
- 9:10SPEAKER_00: And I always suggest them to get plugged into the industry.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: That was just probably the biggest game changer for me was talking to other people who do the same things.
- 9:18SPEAKER_00: I mean, obviously, I've always had my sister, um, but really getting into the industry, finding other friends.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: Um, and honestly, my competitors out here are really awesome.
- 9:27SPEAKER_00: They're some of my best friends and my biggest referral partners as well.
- 9:31SPEAKER_04: So you do.
- 9:32SPEAKER_04: We have there's um Shannon, there is just such a great group of cleaning business owners in Denver.
- 9:39SPEAKER_04: And I hope one day that you can meet them because they are also phenomenally nice and wonderful, and it is just neat to see them all grow.
- 9:47SPEAKER_04: Like me stepping back from running my cleaning company and seeing it as an outsider now, and watching these group of people in like these cleaning business owners in Denver, I've watched them grow and it just blows my mind away how wonderful you guys are.
- 10:02SPEAKER_04: And they are sweet.
- 10:03SPEAKER_04: And we actually talked about that, I think, Shannon.
- 10:06SPEAKER_04: Oh no, I think this is our upcoming podcast.
- 10:08SPEAKER_04: That's one of our upcoming podcasts is really getting to know your competitors because they're going to be your best friends.
- 10:14SPEAKER_02: They're your greatest resource too.
- 10:16SPEAKER_02: Um, collaboration since 2020 has been the biggest shift in the whole industry.
- 10:21SPEAKER_02: Like we have a small um messenger group.
- 10:24SPEAKER_02: So if we all run short on a particular job, we can say, hey, I have this job coming up, I closed it.
- 10:30SPEAKER_02: Does anyone else have availability on this day?
- 10:32SPEAKER_02: And because they're all insured, it ends up being a good thing.
- 10:35SPEAKER_02: Um, but yeah, getting together quarterly um is highly recommended for sure.
- 10:40SPEAKER_02: And really getting to know what the needs are of the other businesses.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: I'm really grateful for my my group of friends out here.
- 10:49SPEAKER_04: So looking back six months ago, where do you see the biggest change in your business?
- 10:54SPEAKER_04: And what were the big like if you can think of three big things that have changed in your business back six months ago?
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: That's a great question.
- 11:04SPEAKER_00: Um I would say definitely my mindset has been the biggest thing.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: Um I went to, I, you know, like I said, I love continuing education.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: I went to um Liz's foundations uh scale conference.
- 11:20SPEAKER_00: Very cool.
- 11:21SPEAKER_00: And it was I love Liz.
- 11:23SPEAKER_00: Oh I love Liz too.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: She's she's changed my life.
- 11:26SPEAKER_04: Everybody loves Liz.
- 11:27SPEAKER_04: I love Liz too.
- 11:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but um that that conference really, really helped my mindset a lot.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: I mean um yeah, it really helped a lot um being able to see more of like the big picture and also see like the mistakes that we were making.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: Um, I bought a cleaning service, a competitor in my area.
- 11:49SPEAKER_00: Um well, it didn't end up being a great fit for us.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: And I didn't make moves fast enough to fix it.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: So it really made last year incredibly challenging.
- 12:03SPEAKER_00: And um, what I learned the most from this uh this uh scale uh conference I went to is that we are more of like the high scale dining in our area.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: And I bought um somebody that more serviced like McDonald's.
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: And the customers were a hundred percent different.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: Like we we have maybe we maybe kept 20% of them.
- 12:28SPEAKER_00: Um and those 20%, like we feel like there are customers now.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: They accepted our price increases and just we had to make a lot of changes.
- 12:38SPEAKER_00: Um anyway, it was a big learning experience at first.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: It was like the world is ending, I made the biggest mistake of my life, blah, blah, blah.
- 12:46SPEAKER_00: But then it was really, you know, going to that scale class and realizing, oh my gosh, well, this was why we felt this way.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: Like we just they were these.
- 12:56SPEAKER_00: I always thought cleaning was this, and you know, we're we all fit in here and we do, but like we are not all the same.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: We all do different things, we all charge differently, we all, you know, and um, you know, it was it became very clear to me during that that scale uh commerce I went to that I was like, wow, okay, well, this is why we're having such a big challenge.
- 13:18SPEAKER_00: And um, you know, really also realizing like just we needed to get our our staff on the same page, what we were trying to do um as far as branding and things like that.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: So we've um yeah, we made a lot of changes and putting we put a lot of things in place after that conference.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: It's it's it was really great.
- 13:39SPEAKER_02: So with the purchase of the other business, did you just purchase the list or the whole business itself?
- 13:43SPEAKER_02: Like all of the reviews, the website, the whole deal?
- 13:47SPEAKER_02: It was a list.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: It was just a list.
- 13:48SPEAKER_02: Gotcha.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Basically, it it was interesting.
- 13:52SPEAKER_03: Would you do it again?
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Honestly, no, probably.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Um, probably not.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I'd have to like I'd make a lot of changes, but after like yeah, I I went against like my intuition and things, just thinking, oh, we'll we'll be able to make this work.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: And it it did not work.
- 14:16SPEAKER_00: Um so, but whatever.
- 14:17SPEAKER_04: I mean, it was completely my fault for just a learning experience, and we have to make mistakes to learn, right?
- 14:23SPEAKER_04: To grow better.
- 14:24SPEAKER_04: And then that's when we help other people out.
- 14:26SPEAKER_04: We learn from our mistakes, and then we're able to give back and help other people out so that they don't make the same mistakes.
- 14:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 14:33SPEAKER_04: So anyway, I mean thank you for sharing that.
- 14:35SPEAKER_04: I'm sure that was like that's that's for me, that would be hard being like, uh, yeah, but that was good.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: I mean, it was rough, it was a big mistake.
- 14:42SPEAKER_00: It kind of ruined like it was a hard year.
- 14:45SPEAKER_00: It was our first year doing million dollars, and so you'd think like it would be awesome, but no, it was a really hard year.
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: Um, we it was the hardest year we've had for sure.
- 14:56SPEAKER_00: Um, but we we saw like we just grew so fast, you know, right um, and then we saw so many things that we didn't have in place.
- 15:05SPEAKER_00: We had to put so many processes in place and make so many changes, and you know, we had some staff that didn't stay with us and all of it.
- 15:12SPEAKER_00: But I think it's all for the better.
- 15:14SPEAKER_00: And you know, we're we're gonna we're gonna be able to get past this 15.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: You know, we've been at 15 cleaners for probably a year now.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: We'll finally be able to go past it.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Um, I'm certain we'll get past it this year, but uh yeah, that's just been putting a lot of processes in place.
- 15:28SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 15:29SPEAKER_02: Congratulations.
- 15:30SPEAKER_02: I've purchased lists in the past and I've had it's been a yay or nay.
- 15:34SPEAKER_02: Like the first list I purchased because I didn't know what I was doing.
- 15:38SPEAKER_02: She had wanted a certain amount and we kind of renegotiated.
- 15:40SPEAKER_02: And then when I actually looked, instead of going by my gut, I had overpaid for a list that wasn't even my they weren't even my client.
- 15:48SPEAKER_02: And then the second time it was like, okay, so I I learned, right?
- 15:52SPEAKER_02: Because you got to pay attention, you're shelling out cash.
- 15:54SPEAKER_02: And um, the second list, I cherry-picked the ones I wanted and then bought those.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: Nice.
- 15:59SPEAKER_02: Um, highly recommend doing that versus the whole list.
- 16:02SPEAKER_02: Oh and that ended up giving me some ROI for it.
- 16:06SPEAKER_02: But yeah, the first time I was did I I paid like 10 grand.
- 16:11SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 16:11SPEAKER_00: No, I mean it was like something where it was um in the favor of both of us.
- 16:15SPEAKER_00: So like we were only paying for the people that we actually stayed on and we cleaned for and things.
- 16:20SPEAKER_00: Um, but yeah, I mean, I definitely would have I would do things differently next time.
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: Um like, yeah, I kind of wish I would have just been like, well, we will pay you for a certain amount that we're able to quote and if they come on with us, but yeah, I should have re-quoted everybody, quite honestly, because it was just like just completely different.
- 16:41SPEAKER_02: Things you learn along the way.
- 16:42SPEAKER_02: You don't, it's a hindsight, right?
- 16:43SPEAKER_02: And it just everybody, you know, when you talk to people who've purchased other lists, everybody has a similar story of like, oh my gosh, I did this.
- 16:52SPEAKER_02: So yeah, no, I kudos for you for sharing it.
- 16:54SPEAKER_02: Thank you for you know that transparency because I don't give a lot of other cleaners because you get approached, right?
- 16:59SPEAKER_02: You get approached by a lot of people.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I've got approached several times since then, and I've been able to ask the right questions to be like, this is not a good fit, like right for the beginning.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: So I did learn.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: So that's I guess that's good.
- 17:11SPEAKER_00: See, that's the that's the thing.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: You know, from we have some great clients from it.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: We um got some great like reputation.
- 17:17SPEAKER_00: Like almost every single person that came on did give us a good review.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: They were happy with us.
- 17:21SPEAKER_00: I mean, I can't say it was all bad, you know.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: I just it was it just made her a hard year and it was a big thing.
- 17:27SPEAKER_00: Definitely.
- 17:28SPEAKER_04: Did they refer those those clients?
- 17:30SPEAKER_04: Did they refer other people to you?
- 17:33unknown: Yeah.
- 17:33SPEAKER_04: Um that that helps pay for some some of that, then the referrals, you know, coming in.
- 17:38SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 17:39SPEAKER_00: I mean, all of it, you know, if I were to look back at all of it, I'm sure it was fine, you know.
- 17:44SPEAKER_00: But while we were in it, it was like, oh my god, this is a mess.
- 17:48unknown: Yeah.
- 17:49SPEAKER_02: Hugs.
- 17:51SPEAKER_02: It's only been there.
- 17:52SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 17:53SPEAKER_04: Communicate.
- 17:54SPEAKER_04: Oh goodness.
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: Um, I almost want to throw this out here, and it's not on our question list, but I just wanted to break it up and just have a good laugh.
- 18:02SPEAKER_04: So, because I know when I was cleaning houses, I know Shannon's got stories too, but what was the most weirdest house you've ever cleaned?
- 18:09SPEAKER_04: Oh, that's a hard question.
- 18:10SPEAKER_04: Because or like even like something that was like you guys were shocked by when you went in the house to clean.
- 18:15SPEAKER_04: I know for us, I know Katie, like us being in Colorado, I know weed was legalized early on, you know.
- 18:22SPEAKER_04: So for us, that was like the normal, but other places it's not, you know, legalized.
- 18:26SPEAKER_04: So I'm sure it's different for their people.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: That's a great question.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: Um, I really, you know, I've been doing this for like 13 plus years, and I really can't think of anything that um is standing out.
- 18:37SPEAKER_00: Like I know I've heard I can think of things in other people's companies, but I just can't all the horror stories.
- 18:43SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I can think of other things that I've heard from other people, but I'm just like for personal, I just no, yeah, I don't think we really had any anything.
- 18:52SPEAKER_04: Oh, you're lucky then.
- 18:53SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 18:54SPEAKER_04: Timmy, what was yours?
- 18:56SPEAKER_04: Um, mine was walking into a house, and like it was the weed one that I was telling you about, like with the medical marijuana, but his whole entire house was like just grow rooms, like the living room was a grow room, and his bedroom was a grow room.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: And yeah, we've encountered that before.
- 19:14SPEAKER_00: Well, it's a lot of grow rooms.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: I didn't realize was we had a move out one time, and I was like, Oh, it didn't look bad, right?
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: I was like, it shouldn't be bad.
- 19:32SPEAKER_04: I mean, oh my god, that's what we had, and it was on the floors, yeah.
- 19:35SPEAKER_04: The floors and everything, and everything, yeah.
- 19:38SPEAKER_00: We and we charged.
- 19:42SPEAKER_03: And I've been like, Yes, you want us to clean those, like it's kind of hard.
- 19:46SPEAKER_04: Yeah, I know because it would not come up.
- 19:48SPEAKER_04: And I remember we charged a lot.
- 19:49SPEAKER_04: I think the square footage for that house, I want to say, was maybe 1200, but because there was so much of it and like just the stickiness of everything, like you said on things, I think I ended up charging 240.
- 20:03SPEAKER_04: Yeah, like each clean.
- 20:04SPEAKER_04: Like it was it was nuts.
- 20:05SPEAKER_04: But that was my Shannon.
- 20:06SPEAKER_04: What about you?
- 20:07SPEAKER_04: What was your craziest adventure?
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: Um, I also have a grow we walked into um move out cleaning that was um we're in Arizona.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: We just became like legal, probably I think last year.
- 20:20SPEAKER_02: And then we walked into a grow house.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: Another situation we had, we were doing a top-to-bottom deluxe cleaning.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: I got several phone calls.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: I couldn't send a lead over to figure out what the problem was.
- 20:29SPEAKER_02: So I went over there, and this is in the gated community of our area, and it's a huge sprawling 6,500 square foot home.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: And he, it's a guy, but he has all of these game of throne like portraits in their nudes.
- 20:43SPEAKER_02: And what the big who to do was he wanted all of his bongs like hand washed.
- 20:49SPEAKER_02: And at the time, this is before it became legal.
- 20:51SPEAKER_02: We are not allowed to touch that stuff.
- 20:52SPEAKER_02: So it became like this argument over who was going to clean his bongs, and he was in his underwear.
- 20:58SPEAKER_02: I'm like, you can't, it's inappropriate for you to be in your chonies, dude.
- 21:03SPEAKER_02: I got like four females here.
- 21:05SPEAKER_02: He was just he was odd.
- 21:06SPEAKER_02: I mean, when I looked at the pictures in his bedroom, I'm like, what's going on here?
- 21:11SPEAKER_02: It's just it was just he was just odd.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: He was just very flamboyant, and you know, he wanted he would drop his pants on the floor and then want the girls to pick him up.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: And I'm like, I tried to do research on him to see if he was like royalty or what it just was way out there.
- 21:29SPEAKER_04: I could tell you another thing that I cleaned that was really strange.
- 21:32SPEAKER_04: This is out there, there was this house I did, and um, in her barn.
- 21:36SPEAKER_04: So it was kind of weird, it was like her barn was on the bottom.
- 21:38SPEAKER_04: So she had her horses, and then you would take the stairs from in the barn up to her house.
- 21:43SPEAKER_04: Her house was on top of the barn, but it was like she had me clean this buffalo, dead buffalo stuffed buffalo.
- 21:50SPEAKER_04: And this is when I first started, so you know I didn't know better.
- 21:53SPEAKER_04: And so she gave me a brush and she gave me some things, and I'm sitting there brushing the buffalo's fur.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Trying to make it look nice.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: I'm like, I can't believe I'm cleaning a dead buffalo head today.
- 22:04SPEAKER_04: That is just funny.
- 22:05SPEAKER_04: Katie, you seriously have never run into any of these weird things.
- 22:09SPEAKER_00: I mean, the more you guys talk, I'm like, yeah, I mean, I guess we I'm like, yeah, I guess we have, but I just I guess I consider that whatever.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: It's like part of the job.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: Like, I guess don't think of that stuff as like odd, you know.
- 22:22SPEAKER_00: But I think the the one of the hardest customers I ever had was one of my first customers in Hawaii.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: And I was I ran a company called Aloha All Natural Cleaning Services.
- 22:31SPEAKER_00: So we were natural, but this lady like had wiped everything and had to use bleach on everything.
- 22:37SPEAKER_00: So I ended up getting bleach stains on all of my all of my clothes, like all my work clothes, everything.
- 22:44SPEAKER_00: And it was just kind of silly because I was like, wow, I'm natural cleaning service, but I have bleach stains all over everything.
- 22:50SPEAKER_00: I only use bleach at that one lady's house, you know.
- 22:52SPEAKER_00: But yeah, it was that was I mean, I loved that lady, she was such a nice person, but yep, bleach, that was the only thing I oh my gosh, how did you even breathe?
- 23:02SPEAKER_04: Like walk out breathing.
- 23:04SPEAKER_00: I got sick several times, you know, because I didn't know anything.
- 23:07SPEAKER_00: I mean, I was really young.
- 23:08SPEAKER_00: It was when I first graduated college, I was like 23.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: I didn't really know about ventilation or anything, so yeah, it was it was tough.
- 23:16SPEAKER_04: That's that's in your natural cleaning service.
- 23:18SPEAKER_04: That's like bleach was like probably not on your list.
- 23:20SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Wasn't on ours, that's for sure.
- 23:24SPEAKER_02: Yeah, so but I mean, yeah.
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 23:30SPEAKER_00: We encounter, so we've never had anything.
- 23:33SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 23:33SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: That's still, I mean, I think that's just funny just to think back of all the weird things we've had to clean.
- 23:38SPEAKER_04: Like when we first started, we didn't know better, you know.
- 23:41SPEAKER_00: So I will share one more thing.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: When I first started, I didn't know better.
- 23:45SPEAKER_00: So we would, you know, do a lot more than what we were supposed to do, probably.
- 23:49SPEAKER_02: So we had one more odd cleaning, and it was with a short-term rental.
- 23:53SPEAKER_02: And I got a lot of panicked calls, and again, there was no lead.
- 23:57SPEAKER_02: So I had to go out into the mountain to see what the problem was.
- 24:00SPEAKER_02: And they had had a party and there were all these blow up dolls and trying to deflate these blow-up dolls, and nobody, of course, wants to touch the blow up dolls.
- 24:09SPEAKER_02: I have never laughed so hard in my entire life.
- 24:12SPEAKER_02: So I have Maria and she is walking and she's got two blow up dolls, and she's going down to the trash bin.
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: And I almost I almost peed my pants because I was laughing so hard I could not control my.
- 24:21SPEAKER_02: I'm trying to be professional, I'm trying to be the leader, and she's just got these two blowups.
- 24:33SPEAKER_02: And there were seven of them.
- 24:35SPEAKER_02: But they were taken out.
- 24:36SPEAKER_02: They were just, you know, body parts, and I was just so she like and then because nobody wanted to touch the ball, there's no way to protect yourself unless you wore your sweatshirt.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: Uh, just to see them carrying, you know, out the roller balls.
- 24:53SPEAKER_02: Oh my gosh, it was just the most hilarious thing.
- 24:57SPEAKER_04: See, I'm telling you crazy, crazy things.
- 25:00SPEAKER_04: Yep.
- 25:00SPEAKER_02: I'd have no video to prove it.
- 25:02SPEAKER_02: I only have my memory and it's burned in there forever.
- 25:06SPEAKER_04: Oh my gosh.
- 25:08SPEAKER_02: So I forget what question are we on?
- 25:10SPEAKER_02: We're on number six.
- 25:13SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: So, Ms.
- 25:14SPEAKER_02: Katie, if you had advice for the newbies, um, what are the top five best pieces of advice you would give them?
- 25:21SPEAKER_00: Um, it would be to plug in the industry right away.
- 25:25SPEAKER_00: So just start talking to other people that own cleaning services, um, get networked in, uh, talk to a cleaning business coach.
- 25:33SPEAKER_00: Uh, make sure that you start with um it's hard because when you're first starting, you don't have a lot of money.
- 25:42SPEAKER_00: So I would say if you can start with a good software.
- 25:46SPEAKER_00: But I know that when a lot of us are starting, you know, we don't have a lot of money.
- 25:49SPEAKER_00: So we just start with what we can.
- 25:51SPEAKER_00: But do get yourself a good software as soon as you can, as soon as you can afford it, because that's one of the hardest things is switching softwares or getting onto a software.
- 26:00SPEAKER_00: Um, and then you want to choose a good one that you can grow it so that you don't have to keep switching softwares because yeah, it's time consuming.
- 26:07SPEAKER_02: It is hard.
- 26:08SPEAKER_00: Um, it's big, huge learning crazy.
- 26:10SPEAKER_04: And you have to relearn it all.
- 26:12SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 26:13SPEAKER_00: Um, so that I would say those are the biggest things.
- 26:16SPEAKER_00: Just plug in an industry, get make sure you have good software.
- 26:20SPEAKER_02: Um what software are you using?
- 26:26SPEAKER_00: Made Central.
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: What is it?
- 26:28SPEAKER_02: Made Central?
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: Made Central, yeah.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: They started uh the best one in my opinion.
- 26:34SPEAKER_00: That one changed my life because um I used to, you know, I I'm not good at tracking things.
- 26:38SPEAKER_00: Um I'm not very like I'm just not a very organized person.
- 26:43SPEAKER_00: And um, we really struggled with our numbers and track just even having our numbers.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: And so made central like has it all together for you.
- 26:50SPEAKER_00: It's really nice.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Awesome.
- 26:52SPEAKER_02: We use Git Jobber.
- 26:54SPEAKER_02: I think Kim, did you use launch 27?
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: Is that what you used when you had your clothing business?
- 26:58SPEAKER_04: No, I use the customer factor.
- 27:00SPEAKER_04: Um, it was what I could afford at the time.
- 27:02SPEAKER_04: And um, I actually grew with them, which was really nice.
- 27:06SPEAKER_04: So um, but the definitely the made central, from what I know about from the made central, I remember them first doing like the beta program for it and just learning about it when they first came out, but it sounds like it's a really good platform.
- 27:19SPEAKER_04: Um, I feel this is just my honest opinion.
- 27:23SPEAKER_04: I feel, and you can agree with me, Katie.
- 27:25SPEAKER_04: Um, I feel like you need to be right around the 225,000 to 500,000 range.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 27:30SPEAKER_00: Um I saw you when I was 225,000 with Made Central.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that's where you need to be at for that.
- 27:36SPEAKER_00: So it helped us get far fast.
- 27:39SPEAKER_04: Sorry, my my golden retrievers are wrestling underneath my desk and I'm trying to make them behave.
- 27:48SPEAKER_04: Sorry, short interruption.
- 27:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's right around where we started Made Central.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: Um and for me, it's been the cost I I know everyone talks about how it's a more expensive software that that has no factor for me at all because it's completely like all is everything that it provides is like very valuable in my opinion.
- 28:08SPEAKER_00: So gotcha.
- 28:10SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 28:11SPEAKER_02: So it's an all-in-one, so it's an accounting uh CN CRM and um it will do CRM stuff for you.
- 28:17SPEAKER_00: Um, it does connect to QuickBooks Online, although I only use it for invoicing.
- 28:23SPEAKER_00: Um we don't do our we don't do we use QuickBooks Online for like our accounting and stuff.
- 28:29SPEAKER_00: Um it will do payroll, which is amazing.
- 28:31SPEAKER_00: Um rate increases, keeps your master schedule.
- 28:36SPEAKER_00: It it's it does everything.
- 28:38SPEAKER_00: I mean, awesome.
- 28:42SPEAKER_02: That's awesome.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: I love hearing that.
- 28:43SPEAKER_02: It's the industry has come a long way.
- 28:45SPEAKER_02: I remember, and you probably remember this too when you when we were new into the industry, the softwares didn't read together.
- 28:52SPEAKER_02: You had to have you know if you could even get a software, there was no Facebook, there was no groups that you could collaborate with.
- 28:58SPEAKER_02: There was nothing.
- 28:59SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 29:00SPEAKER_00: I started 13 years ago on Google Calendar, you know, me too.
- 29:05SPEAKER_00: Like constantly would have people's schedules just disappear.
- 29:07SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 29:08SPEAKER_02: Like, oh, I didn't get it.
- 29:09SPEAKER_02: I'm like, why are you supposed to be there?
- 29:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it man, not having a software at all was hard.
- 29:15SPEAKER_00: And then um, my sister helped me get on to made easy, which was the first software I ever used.
- 29:20SPEAKER_00: And then from there, you know, we just kind of um kind of moved on every time there was a kind of better software out there.
- 29:27SPEAKER_00: Uh so we moved for I think from made easy to service autopilot to made central.
- 29:31SPEAKER_00: Those are the only moves I've ever done because it is a lot to move to a software.
- 29:35SPEAKER_00: Just it is moved over and everything.
- 29:37SPEAKER_00: It's you know, but that's why I tell everybody just pick a good software that you can grow with and then move there and stick with it.
- 29:45SPEAKER_00: Cause yeah.
- 29:48SPEAKER_04: So I have to ask Katie, like who is your biggest mentor?
- 29:53SPEAKER_04: And then why do you love your business?
- 29:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, well, my biggest mentor obviously been Laura, my sister.
- 29:59SPEAKER_00: Um and then, but after Laura, I would say Liz, because she's my cleaning business coach right now.
- 30:05SPEAKER_00: Um, and then I love my business because it does give me the freedom, the time, freedom to travel.
- 30:11SPEAKER_00: Traveling is probably my biggest passion.
- 30:13SPEAKER_00: Um, Laura and I, Laura, Derek, and I are gonna go to Malta um later this year, and then we're gonna go to India early next year.
- 30:20SPEAKER_00: So we already have a couple of trips planned.
- 30:22SPEAKER_00: I'm super excited about it.
- 30:24SPEAKER_00: But um, so that's I would say that's why I love my business.
- 30:27SPEAKER_00: Also the people that I get to work with.
- 30:29SPEAKER_00: You know, I have a great staff.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: I love my managers um and the team that we're building.
- 30:34SPEAKER_00: And um I love that it's something that I can build that's gonna be a long-term thing.
- 30:42SPEAKER_00: When I was building it in Hawaii, it was really hard because I knew I didn't want to live there like my whole life or for long term.
- 30:49SPEAKER_00: So I was like, what am I doing?
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Like, I keep just building this business that I don't intend on keeping, you know.
- 30:55SPEAKER_00: So, but I don't feel that way out here because I feel like, you know, I mean, this is where I'm gonna stay.
- 31:00SPEAKER_00: I just bought my first house, so um I'll be out here on sure for a whole time.
- 31:05SPEAKER_04: But um that was actually on her goal list.
- 31:07SPEAKER_04: I remember a few years back, and uh she was talking about like her goals, and one of them was to pay off debt, and then the other one was to um buy a house, and she's done it.
- 31:20SPEAKER_04: I'm done at all.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: I was so excited.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: So um, I mean, it wasn't the best timing, you know, the mortgage rates are high right now or whatever, but it is what it is.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: I I had a commute, I was commuting from Fort Collins, and so I'm very grateful I was able to live with my sister for the past several years and not I had no bills, I didn't pay rent or anything.
- 31:38SPEAKER_00: So that's what was able to afford me to invest more into my business and pay off my debt and things like that, and then save up for my my first house.
- 31:47SPEAKER_00: So I'm very, very, very grateful for that.
- 31:49SPEAKER_00: And but that commute was a lot, it was it was too much.
- 31:54SPEAKER_00: So I'm glad now that I'm out here with less of a commute.
- 31:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah, because that's like an hour commute from it was by the time to Laura's new house, it was an hour and like 20 minutes.
- 32:05SPEAKER_04: That's right, because she moved, that's right, yeah.
- 32:06SPEAKER_04: So 20 minutes, yeah, which is fine.
- 32:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, I love her new house, it's just like the best, but it's beautiful.
- 32:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just you know, the commute was getting to me a lot, and I was just like, all right, I am Denver traffic's no joke.
- 32:19SPEAKER_04: Yes, it's crazy.
- 32:20SPEAKER_04: I don't wish.
- 32:21SPEAKER_00: Well, and Port Collins, oh my god, like I was just coming out of Port Collins or going up to Port Collins, you know.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: Um, I think it was, I can't even remember what day it was, but I was just like, like, there's just if there's too many people there now for the infrastructure, it's pretty crazy.
- 32:36SPEAKER_04: And Shannon was saying that Prescott's just grown.
- 32:38SPEAKER_04: And I went to go visit um when we were in Arizona, and I just am blown away, like Shannon said, that Prescott's just grown like mad.
- 32:48SPEAKER_02: So it used to take eight minutes to go from town to town, it now takes 45 minutes to go.
- 32:53SPEAKER_02: And it's only nine miles.
- 32:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the traffic is up success.
- 32:56SPEAKER_00: It's awesome for business.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: I mean, that's it.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it's good for business.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: Like I'm in a growing area, and so I think that's great.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: It's great for business and things.
- 33:02SPEAKER_00: But yeah, we where I'm at, um in the next 10 years, I'm sure it's just gonna get crazy with traffic and things.
- 33:10SPEAKER_04: So if if people are listening and you're in your area, can you explain where your service area is?
- 33:15SPEAKER_04: So if they are in the area and they can refer people if they're listening and they have friends out there or family, like can you just tell your service area?
- 33:21SPEAKER_00: So yeah, so we are um uh out of Westminster.
- 33:25SPEAKER_00: Our office is out of Westminster, which is northern suburb of Denver.
- 33:29SPEAKER_00: And we basically service Westminster, Thornton, Broomfield, Arbata, um, and then Lafayette, Louisville Superior area.
- 33:38SPEAKER_00: Um so that's kind of our service area.
- 33:41SPEAKER_00: We don't do a lot of Denver.
- 33:43SPEAKER_00: We we cut out a lot of Denver uh because just the city is hard, the parking is hard.
- 33:48SPEAKER_00: Um, so we basically stay in like the highlands of Denver, if anybody's familiar with that area, um west of the 76 and north of Colfax.
- 33:57SPEAKER_04: Awesome.
- 33:57SPEAKER_04: So yeah, if you guys are listening and you have family or friends that need cleaning services in that area, reach out to Katie and she'll get you hooked up.
- 34:07SPEAKER_04: So um I think we only have like one more question left and then we're good.
- 34:12SPEAKER_02: I actually have a really quick question before you get to this question.
- 34:15SPEAKER_02: So just for the audience to know.
- 34:16SPEAKER_02: So, Katie, you have um you have all W-2s or do you have a hybrid business model with all W-2s?
- 34:22SPEAKER_02: We have all employees.
- 34:23SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 34:24SPEAKER_02: A lot of people are doing um interesting things.
- 34:26SPEAKER_02: So I thought I would ask.
- 34:27SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah, we we have all employees.
- 34:30SPEAKER_00: Gotcha.
- 34:31SPEAKER_04: Do you think that's better than 1099s?
- 34:33SPEAKER_04: Just throwing it out there for the audience.
- 34:34SPEAKER_00: I know what I would say, but I mean, that's my personal preference.
- 34:38SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we like having the control and um being able to train people on what we want as for our service.
- 34:45SPEAKER_04: So and a lot of people don't realize that.
- 34:47SPEAKER_04: And Shannon and I have seen it in our groups that they think that a 1099 they could say, okay, well, this is my shirt that you can put on, and this is you know, the cleaning products you can use, and this is your thing.
- 34:58SPEAKER_04: And they don't realize that you can't do that with 1099s.
- 35:01SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 35:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, and we want to be able to do that because we we advertise that we're like a natural company, and we advertise that we'll clean specific, you know, do certain things.
- 35:10SPEAKER_00: And yeah.
- 35:12SPEAKER_00: Can't do that with the I like having control, I like having uniforms, and you know, that's that's the brand that we're putting out there.
- 35:18SPEAKER_03: So awesome.
- 35:20SPEAKER_03: Cool.
- 35:22SPEAKER_03: Do you want to finish it up, Shannon?
- 35:23SPEAKER_03: Or do you want me to finish it up?
- 35:24SPEAKER_03: Go ahead.
- 35:25SPEAKER_03: You can totally do it.
- 35:26SPEAKER_03: I talk all the time.
- 35:28SPEAKER_04: I know you do.
- 35:29SPEAKER_04: I like I just hide in my kitchen and work.
- 35:30SPEAKER_04: No, I'm too sick.
- 35:31SPEAKER_04: Um, so what, Katie, what are your goals for the next year and the next five years?
- 35:36SPEAKER_04: Because I know goal setting is so important for businesses.
- 35:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, you know, in the next year, we are trying to big bust past this growth pause we've been in for like a year.
- 35:48SPEAKER_00: Um, we're we're trying to even just get to 1.2 million.
- 35:51SPEAKER_00: We did a million last year, so that's not a lot of growth.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: But um, that's still awesome, though, Katie.
- 35:57SPEAKER_04: From where you've come from.
- 35:58SPEAKER_00: I see people growing by like 500,000 to a million a year.
- 36:01SPEAKER_00: And I'm like, that's awesome.
- 36:03SPEAKER_00: We're not there yet.
- 36:04SPEAKER_00: We still have a lot of processes to put in place in order to accommodate growth like that.
- 36:08SPEAKER_00: So that's our goal is to um be working on putting the processes in place over the next year, getting another manager in place at our office.
- 36:16SPEAKER_00: Um, and you know, just continuing to build like our training programs, things like that in order for us to support larger growth.
- 36:24SPEAKER_00: My ultimate goal is to do$5 million in my service area.
- 36:28SPEAKER_00: And I do think that we can do that.
- 36:29SPEAKER_00: I'm not sure if it would be possible in the next five years.
- 36:32SPEAKER_00: Um so we'll see.
- 36:35SPEAKER_00: I have no idea.
- 36:37SPEAKER_04: Awesome.
- 36:37SPEAKER_04: Katie, thank you so much for joining us.
- 36:39SPEAKER_04: And like again, I'm just I'm so incredibly proud of you.
- 36:43SPEAKER_04: Like my heart just is just overflowing with love and joy for you because I just have watched you grow and thanks, Kimberly.
- 36:49SPEAKER_04: I I love our car rides.
- 36:50SPEAKER_04: We um, Shannon and we um Katie and I got a chance to bond.
- 36:54SPEAKER_04: We went to Laura put on this phenomenal uh training, and um I was blessed to be able to go and I got to ride up with Katie the whole way there and back, and we just got a really good chance just to really know each other instead of just the business part.
- 37:11SPEAKER_00: And yeah, like that was a great that was a great thing.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: That was I love that.
- 37:14SPEAKER_00: And um the biggest thing I got out of that was um that yeah, I at that point I was like, all right, I need I need to move.
- 37:22SPEAKER_00: I I can't continue staying where I'm at right now.
- 37:24SPEAKER_00: And so at that point I started looking at buying a house and now I'm I'm just so proud of you.
- 37:28SPEAKER_04: You've come so far, you know, from growth because you and I both started our company right around the same time.
- 37:35SPEAKER_04: And so like I just have really loved your growth and I've loved watching you just blow it out of the water.
- 37:40SPEAKER_04: So and um obviously I had different plans, but I'm okay with that.
- 37:44SPEAKER_04: So you know I love your cleaning products, it's it's amazing.
- 37:48SPEAKER_04: And I know she cleaned her whole house with my products.
- 37:50SPEAKER_04: I was so happy.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: I know.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: Well, it's it's it's a great product, it is, it's it's really amazing.
- 37:56SPEAKER_00: Like the the degreasing aspect of it and everything is really amazing, and I really wish I could figure out how to implement it, like incorporate into our our cleaning serve, you know, my cleaning service stuff because I love that product.
- 38:09SPEAKER_04: We'll talk.
- 38:10SPEAKER_04: I'm working on some stuff right now.
- 38:12SPEAKER_04: Um, I've been working on, I Shannon knows I've been in the back part of it, and I'm actually working on um creating this is for the newer companies too, but for new people that are just starting out.
- 38:23SPEAKER_04: But I'm creating a bag and it's gonna have a bag with my products, and every single thing that they need to get started is gonna be right in that bag that they can buy.
- 38:30SPEAKER_04: Nice.
- 38:31SPEAKER_04: But let's chat and let's see if we can work something out because I'm working hard on just really getting a name in our industry because I really want to make um training easier for for us business owners for cleaning um when we train.
- 38:46SPEAKER_04: I want to make it easier for them.
- 38:47SPEAKER_04: And my heart just goes out to everybody to help them out.
- 38:50SPEAKER_04: So but thank you so much for joining Shannon and I and our baby podcast that's growing, but we're so excited.
