- 0:00What's going on everybody and welcome to the
- 0:02deconstructing topic podcast my name
- 0:05is david and i'm your legendary host of
- 0:08this beautiful legendary podcast hope we are doing well hope hopefully you was
- 0:14able to kind of uh not put this on the highs of all the highs volume when i
- 0:19start to talk or when i do my intro because yeah either i'm gonna get you hype
- 0:24i'm gonna get you I'm going to just rock some emotions.
- 0:29Let's get it. Welcome to my podcast, my beautiful podcast.
- 0:34And once again, my name is David, and I'm your host of this wonderful podcast.
- 0:39And today's episode, once again, a little impromptu.
- 0:43This is why I love doing the little podcast on my app, The Pop Beam,
- 0:48because I could get to do a podcast on the fly, on the go, wherever I'm at,
- 0:53whatever it is that I'm doing.
- 0:55And, you know, lately, for some reason, you know, I've been on a mission.
- 1:00So when I'm on a mission, it's like everything happens for a reason, right?
- 1:04And today's little episode, it's kind of like a little one of those things that
- 1:09a reminder about how human we are,
- 1:13how emotional we get, and how little subtle things could change somebody's life
- 1:19and even could change somebody's day, for sure.
- 1:23And one of those things that I, you know, I just want to share a couple of stories
- 1:26here. Because once again, I'm told people I'm on a mission.
- 1:30This is my 20th year anniversary being in a car accident.
- 1:33You already know for those people that know me. And for those people that are
- 1:37listening to my podcast, feel
- 1:39free to share, like, comment, all that good stuff. We got some good stuff.
- 1:44And, you know, if you're in a train or whatever, wherever you are driving,
- 1:49wherever you are. But if you see this nice Puerto Rican man kind of stop you
- 1:54and say, hey, you okay? You doing all right?
- 1:56Maybe that's me. That's the Deconstructing Talbot Podcast.
- 1:59See, I'm a people's people. And one of the things that I've learned and I know
- 2:04in life that sometimes what happens is that when people, you know,
- 2:08people are hesitant to tell stories.
- 2:10And I'm one of the mindset, like the late Kobe Bryant basketball player,
- 2:15who always kind of emphasized the art of storytelling.
- 2:19Because sometimes in life we just don't know.
- 2:22Tomorrow is never guaranteed, that's for sure. But what's interesting about
- 2:26those situations is that it's basically,
- 2:31sometimes when you start to open up, even if you are an introvert or whatever
- 2:35it is, you start to open up, then you're telling a story and you're changing somebody's life.
- 2:39And a shout out to a couple of things, a couple of little scenarios here that happened to me lately.
- 2:46And then it was not too long ago.
- 2:48I'm over here, New York City. Let's go, New York. Ow!
- 2:53In the Flatiron District, you already know, 20-something street,
- 2:57whatever it is, 5th, 6th Avenue.
- 2:59As I'm walking down, you know, just finished doing a little gym workout,
- 3:03like, cool, you know, doing my thing, boom, boom.
- 3:06Heading to work, as you already know.
- 3:09I'm here, I'm here, I'm at work doing my thing, and I'm always doing a thing of a think-thing.
- 3:15Then I see this beautiful young brother.
- 3:19And I, you know, I tell me, you know, it's funny because the other day there
- 3:22was somebody that was doing construction. I'm like, I'll be careful out there, young brother.
- 3:26And the individual looks at me and like, well, you know, just to let you know,
- 3:29you know, I'm actually, you know, pretty old.
- 3:32And I'm like looking at the person and I'm like, tell me, everybody's young,
- 3:37young brother, young sister, whatever it is.
- 3:40Because remember, my name is David and I'm the host of Deconstruct and Topper Podcast.
- 3:45And I carry a hat as I'm a teacher
- 3:48and you're getting an education so it doesn't matter what
- 3:51walk of life and how long you have experienced this
- 3:54world that's the way I see it and I saw
- 3:57this young brother sweating little polo
- 4:00shirt something going on and he stops in a corner and I'm like damn it's he
- 4:04okay is that person gonna get a little heart attack or something to that effect
- 4:09because I'm looking at him and you know the end of it just like I cannot say
- 4:14uh sweating profusely And I'm like, you all right, brother?
- 4:19It's like, yeah, we're his acting. Like, yeah, brother, thanks for acting me.
- 4:22Just, you know, my left foot. And I'm like, what?
- 4:27And we started talking because, hey, listen, I got little issues with my left
- 4:30foot. I got three screws on my left foot because of the car accident.
- 4:34And we over here sharing stories on how, you know, about each other.
- 4:38And I'm like telling him, yo, you looked like you was about to have a stroke.
- 4:40I'm like, no, no, just a little pain, but I'm good. Don't worry.
- 4:43Don't worry. I appreciate you. And he had this heavy little accent.
- 4:47But I still was able to kind of tell. And he was like, okay,
- 4:51you know, good brother, you know. And I'm like, hey, okay, where you from?
- 4:54There's that guy from Africa. And I'm looking at him like, yeah, okay, come on.
- 4:59Africa, really? Like, you know, that's like 10,000 countries.
- 5:02Come on, put me on here. And he told me he's from the Ivory Coast.
- 5:06And then we started laughing because it's like, you know, I get it.
- 5:10I get it. You know what I mean?
- 5:12Sometimes in life, you know, some people just don't know.
- 5:15You know, they know Africa, but
- 5:16they just won't know certain countries in Africa. So I get it. I get it.
- 5:20But not me. Come on, man. I'm ready to reverse.
- 5:23Started talking a little bit of history. And, you know, he was laughing. I already know.
- 5:28Networking with the young brother. His young brother, he looked a little bit,
- 5:31as he lived life a little bit longer than me, more experienced.
- 5:35But hey, and just the fact those little things, and I'm not telling people that
- 5:40when you see somebody distressed or anybody, but sometimes in life,
- 5:44this little acts of randomness that could help people, you know what I'm saying?
- 5:49That could change the whole view on how that person sees the day.
- 5:54And it leads me to a little another interesting story. Because everything happens
- 5:58for a reason, and that's, like, the reason I kind of did this little podcast.
- 6:03Because sometimes I just want to remind people that we're not guaranteed the next day, man.
- 6:11Stop fooling around. Stop messing around. Stop playing with people's emotions. Just make it happen.
- 6:16Stay positive. Do positive things. Let's do something productive.
- 6:19You know what I'm saying?
- 6:21So normally, you know, as I do my routine at work Whatever the case might be
- 6:27I take a little bit of a lunch break A little bit early because I'm up early
- 6:31Do my gym thing at 4, you know At 5,
- 6:345.40 I'm already starting in the gym,
- 6:37So I'm kind of eating lunch. So, you know, I decided yesterday that I,
- 6:41let me change my lunch hour.
- 6:43You know, let me just go outside and pick up something. Because normally I'm
- 6:46like, you know, I'm in New York City.
- 6:48After 12, the streets get flooded. I guess everybody who's everybody in whatever
- 6:54work that you do, construction, office, window cleaning, whatever cleaning.
- 7:00For the most part, there's a lot of offices here in New York City, man.
- 7:04And it seems that after 12, everybody takes their lunch.
- 7:08So between 12 to 1 to 1.30, yeah, you could tell who's out to lunch, right?
- 7:16So as I'm out to lunch, picking up a little in a Spanish restaurant,
- 7:21I did my order and I sit down.
- 7:24And I see this beautiful young lady, you know, kind of going,
- 7:27getting up, going back and forth. And I'm like, okay, is she okay? You know?
- 7:31And I start a conversation. And that's just me.
- 7:34You know, that's deconstructing everywhere I go. If I see like somebody is a
- 7:38little bit distressed at all, I'm saying is this.
- 7:40If you care for people, you do something random. That's just me.
- 7:45Sometimes I'm like a little bit cautious on what it is. But,
- 7:48you know, sometimes for those people that know me, that work with me,
- 7:52sometimes I go around the office where I work at in a whole block,
- 7:58visiting almost every department saying good morning, how you doing? That's just me.
- 8:04So I see this individual just going back and forth. And I'm like,
- 8:08is she okay? And, you know, then I guess she gets a phone call.
- 8:11And she gets a little bit of hype. And I'm like, hey, you know,
- 8:15everything okay? You know, it's one of those days.
- 8:18And we started striking a conversation. And you already know me.
- 8:22Just like the young brother that was walking down the street,
- 8:24just like everybody, when I start talking, I always like to input a little story
- 8:29and then networking. Hey, listen, I got a podcast. Let's make it happen.
- 8:35So as we talk, and then I start to kind of like, because it was a little bit
- 8:38busy, like my food is taking a little bit long.
- 8:41So then, you know, I told the individual, hey, sister, you know,
- 8:44I'm doing my 20-year anniversary. I survived in a car accident.
- 8:48And I told her the story.
- 8:51And as she's looking at me, she got her eyes wide open. And I'm like, okay.
- 8:57So, you know, I'm just telling the story of whatever the case might be.
- 9:00And, you know, it's crazy how life is because we both kind of had that similar
- 9:05sentiment where sometimes asking somebody how they're doing,
- 9:09it could change the whole day for that person.
- 9:13Always remember that. And if you are in the receiving end of somebody asking
- 9:20you how you're doing, don't take it the wrong way as if, well,
- 9:23there's something wrong with me.
- 9:25And there's people like that, sadly.
- 9:28Take it that perhaps there's somebody out there that cares. You know what I'm saying?
- 9:32And if I'm asking you how you're doing, that means that I care.
- 9:36I truly care and want to listen.
- 9:38You don't got to tell me the story, but I'm listening.
- 9:41So as I'm over here sitting down talking about that story, I'm talking about
- 9:45my car accident and all that, and I see this beautiful young sister looking
- 9:51at me, eyes wide open, whatever the case might be.
- 9:55She's like, yeah, I'm following you. She's a little bit hype.
- 9:57I'm a little bit hype, but there's something missing.
- 9:59It's like something.
- 10:02Now, she did mention that her brother passed away, but what's crazy before she
- 10:07left is like, hey, my brother passed away from a car accident. And I'm like, wow.
- 10:13I'm over here telling a story of survival, and wow, I see why she got like that.
- 10:20And hopefully, I will definitely come across, and hey, listen,
- 10:23next time I come across you, give a little hug because I feel that pain.
- 10:26You know what I mean? And that's why I created a pocket.
- 10:30So I could find ways, different platforms, so I could talk to people.
- 10:34Because I always tell people, look, listen, everybody's different.
- 10:38Everybody offers something different, but I would guarantee you when I would
- 10:42tell you a story, that's why you got to share my channel.
- 10:45You got to subscribe because there's a crazy story, a little secret that not
- 10:50a lot of people know, but I'm going to start talking about it.
- 10:54That's why you got to follow and all that good stuff. But
- 10:58I spent half a decade keeping somebody
- 11:02alive Not only I just saved
- 11:05that person's life But I kept that person alive That's
- 11:08correct That's me That's Deconstructing Topic Podcast That's what I did That's
- 11:13what when you see me You start to see that little business card that says Deconstructing
- 11:18Topic Podcast Don't think that it was a coincidence Everything is happening
- 11:24for a reason And if I'm in that spot,
- 11:26that means that you were meant to come across me.
- 11:30And that's why I say we're on a mission. So if we all want to get on board and
- 11:34we all want to help each other, because at the end of the day,
- 11:36that's all we have is each other. It doesn't matter.
- 11:39The elites are doing the elite stuff. The politicians are doing the politician stuff.
- 11:44The people with money are doing the things with money. And guess what? We only have.
- 11:49We have only each other. And we only have emotions.
- 11:54And we can only become wealthy with bad things in our place.
- 12:00It ain't all about the money.
- 12:02Being wealthy is not all about it. It's all about that love and caring to know
- 12:06that there's people out there who do care.
- 12:10So if you ever see somebody that, you know, you might think,
- 12:13sometimes don't be hesitant.
- 12:14Hey, listen, at the end of the day, if they're having a bad day and they come
- 12:17with a little attitude, hey, that's not on you.
- 12:20But what's in your conscience is that what you did is constantly that you extend
- 12:25a hand to that person by all means.
- 12:27And when I saw the young brother and then yesterday, the young sister,
- 12:31hey, listen, we are here today and we are about to tell that story.
- 12:36But we making it happen once again.
- 12:39I'm going to ask everybody when you listen to this podcast, it's how you doing. And I'm here.
- 12:46And this is the Deconstructing Topping Podcast. And I'm out of here Must love Peace I'm out.
