- 1:04been a crazy weekend. And for New York sports, not a
- 1:08very good one, as we all know. If you're a Jets fan, what a
- 1:11blowout. And if you're a giant fan, Oh my
- 1:14God, you should be depressed. But we will get into that in
- 1:17just a few moments. I had the opportunity this past
- 1:21weekend to go and see a very famous comedian and I went to
- 1:26the one and only Mohegan Sun. I got a chance to experience
- 1:30Sebastian Maniscalco comedy show.
- 1:34It's something if you never had a chance to see him live, it's
- 1:37something you definitely got to check out.
- 1:39I am not a Sebastian fan, I'm not, but getting a chance to see
- 1:44him and how he controls the stage.
- 1:46I've never seen anything like it.
- 1:48A guy that just goes on a stage, he dances around the stage, uses
- 1:52his his body expressions to express himself.
- 1:56I, I know I've been to so many comedy shows.
- 1:59I've never seen a comedy show like quite like this one.
- 2:03I I've seen Jerry Seinfeld. I've seen so many different
- 2:07comedians over the years. I've seen Chris Rock, I've seen
- 2:11a Dane Cook comedy show, but Sebastian is, is a different
- 2:15beast. I was, it was very unique, very
- 2:17different. But I will say this, there was a
- 2:20lot of crazy things happen that happened when I went to the to
- 2:24the event on Friday before. First of all, we took a ferry
- 2:28over there to Connecticut and we got there early.
- 2:32So we, we didn't go to Mohegan Sun first.
- 2:34We went to Foxwoods and I, we wanted to go shopping and I'm a
- 2:38shopper. Anybody that knows me, I like to
- 2:40shop for hats and sneakers and all the different stuff that I
- 2:44like to check out. So we went, we had the
- 2:47experience to go to Foxwoods, but a lot of crazy things
- 2:51happened with Brittany. And I don't want to say this,
- 2:53anybody that knows Brittany Davida would know that you want
- 2:57to make sure that she has her keys, she has her phone, and she
- 3:01has her wallet at all times. Because for some reason, for
- 3:06some reason, if you're not taking care of those particular
- 3:09things, they disappear. And what happened is she was
- 3:13jumping from 1. I had a conversation with this
- 3:16place. There was a store, a storefront
- 3:19that does a lot of live broadcast and gaming at their
- 3:23facility. So I was speaking to the guys
- 3:25because maybe we can do a live show over there at Foxwoods.
- 3:29And they were very intrigued and very interested in our product.
- 3:32So while I was speaking to them, Brittany decides to wander off.
- 3:37And when Brittany wanders off, she does stupid things.
- 3:40So she wandered off, she went to the Nike outlet, she went to
- 3:43Express, she went to all these different outlets.
- 3:45She comes back and I, we're about to go back to the car
- 3:50because we're, we're about to head to Mohican Sun maybe 2
- 3:53hours later. And I say, where's your keys?
- 3:55And she says it's in my, it's my bag.
- 3:58So I say go look in your bag and make sure you have your keys.
- 4:01Well, guess what, ladies and gentlemen?
- 4:03Her keys were not in her back. OK, so then we had to backtrack
- 4:09all through Foxwoods, everywhere.
- 4:11We went from every bathroom she goes to, because she went to six
- 4:15of them. And you know, in Foxwoods
- 4:17there's a million different bathrooms.
- 4:18So we went from bathroom to bathroom.
- 4:20She couldn't find her keys. Then we went through the Nike
- 4:22outlet. Then we went to Express.
- 4:24Then we went to Francesca. What a Francesca?
- 4:27Whatever the hell, France, whatever the hell she was in, we
- 4:30went to every single place she was in.
- 4:34We couldn't find her keys. I was snapping and then she was
- 4:37telling me, well, we might have to take an Uber in the Mohican
- 4:40Sun and we'll have to figure this out a little bit later.
- 4:42I said, wait a second. If we leave here and we leave
- 4:45your keys here, we're never going to find them.
- 4:47And how we going to get home? And she says, well, I'll call,
- 4:51I'll call somebody. I I said, who you going to call?
- 4:54You're not going to call Ghostbusters.
- 4:55Ghostbusters. Because your mother is across
- 4:58the Bay. She is right now across the
- 5:01Hudson. She's over there in Long Island,
- 5:04we're in Connecticut, which is a probably like 4 hours away
- 5:07driving and from boats to, you know, where she is, it probably
- 5:12take her an hour and a half to get to the boat, to take the
- 5:15boat all the way across to. And she know, I don't even know
- 5:17if she has another key. So guys, I was stressed the hell
- 5:21out. I was sweating, I was sitting
- 5:23there, I was screaming at her and I apologize to her, but I
- 5:25didn't know what to do. And then I'm walking up to these
- 5:28Nike people and I'm going to say this.
- 5:30I'm going to be very, very nice. People are dumb.
- 5:34I got to say this. I don't know how these people
- 5:36have jobs and I don't get it. I did.
- 5:39I want to give a shout out to Dirk from Nike Outlet.
- 5:41He was very helpful. I got a chance to pick out some
- 5:44nice sneakers. I want to show you guys these
- 5:45sneakers. I am a sneaker collector and I
- 5:49have to show these before before we start our show.
- 5:51Guys, take a look at these sneakers.
- 5:53They're sensational. Look at these sneakers.
- 5:57They're Nike Airs, ladies and gentlemen.
- 5:59They're beautiful, sexy as can be.
- 6:02I got these sneakers for 50 bucks.
- 6:04They're $180. These sneakers are $180.
- 6:08I got them for 50 bucks at the Nike outlet.
- 6:10So I want to thank you to Dirk. But Dirk and the ladies at the
- 6:15Nike Outlet could not find her keys.
- 6:17I could. I got so angry I was screaming
- 6:19at the security guard. And here's another thing, does
- 6:22Mohican son actually hire Americans?
- 6:25Nobody knows how to speak English.
- 6:27None of the security guards knew how to speak English.
- 6:29None of the people working the bathrooms knew how to speak
- 6:32English. I was trying to sound things
- 6:34out. As a matter of fact, I took my
- 6:36phone out and I was trying to speak Spanish.
- 6:40I was trying to pronounce words in Spanish to get answers from
- 6:45them. It was absolutely ridiculous.
- 6:47Still couldn't find it. And finally, yes, ladies and
- 6:49gentlemen, after going to one security area to another
- 6:53security area, we finally she saw the key sitting there.
- 6:57I sigh of relief. We got her keys.
- 6:59We got to Mohegan Sun at 7:00. We couldn't eat dinner.
- 7:04I wanted to go to Michael, Michael Jordan restaurant, steak
- 7:07restaurant, and we couldn't have dinner.
- 7:09So what, what, what do we have? I, I even, we have like some
- 7:12kind of fast food place. I I forget what the place is
- 7:14called. Is it Johnny Rockets?
- 7:16Yeah, we went to Johnny Rockets, which the food's pretty good,
- 7:20but it, it's like fast food. So I, I wasn't happy about it
- 7:23and I apologize to her. I felt really, really bad.
- 7:25But the, the concert, the comedian, he was great.
- 7:29The, the show was great. I enjoyed it.
- 7:32He was a lot better in person than I ever could imagine.
- 7:34So I want to give a shout out to Mohican Son.
- 7:37And you can see, it doesn't matter where you sat, you can
- 7:39see everything. And he sold out pretty quick.
- 7:42She spent $350.00 a ticket to go see this guy, Sebastian
- 7:46Maniscalco. OK, he's great.
- 7:48I don't know if he's worth $350.00.
- 7:51I'm just saying. And he was great by the way.
- 7:53He knows how to work. Was that per ticket or per
- 7:55ticket? Per ticket.
- 7:58Her ticket? Yeah, she, she's crazy, Jabba
- 8:00she she'll go out and. Spend.
- 8:02Did it? Did it?
- 8:03Did it come with some extracurriculum?
- 8:04No, nothing, nothing, absolutely nothing.
- 8:07And by the way, we went to see the weekend and she spent $1200
- 8:11a ticket to see the weekend to be right there by the stage at
- 8:14MetLife Stadium. This is this girl's nuts.
- 8:17She'll, she'll spend, if she likes the comedian, she likes
- 8:21the artist, she will spend top dollar to go and see these guys.
- 8:25So well listen, I, I'm not saying he wasn't good, he was
- 8:29great. I just, I, I wouldn't have spent
- 8:32350. I didn't have to spend $350.00,
- 8:35but I had to deal with a lot of abuse.
- 8:36And by the way, I had to drive home that night too.
- 8:39So it took me 4 hours to drive home.
- 8:41I fell asleep at a gas station for an hour and a half before I
- 8:43took the ride home. It was actually pretty
- 8:46interesting. I brought up a pillow.
- 8:48I was trying to sleep in my chair.
- 8:50Her her car hurt her Equinox. Equinox is one of the worst cars
- 8:55to sleep in. I'm going to tell you this right
- 8:57now. It is horrible to sleep in.
- 8:58She has a 2013 Equinox. It is not one of those cars that
- 9:02you want to sleep in or even take a nap in.
- 9:04So just saying. And we're going to get it to the
- 9:06Giants and Jets game over the weekend in a back and forth
- 9:10match up in Jerrys world, the Cowboys outlasted the Giants in
- 9:14overtime 40 to 37. The Giants now fall O and two on
- 9:20the season despite the offense coming alive for the first time
- 9:24in a year. Russell Wilson had 450 passing
- 9:29yards, tied for fourth most in Giants history in a single game,
- 9:33along with three touchdowns and one interception, good enough
- 9:37for A123 quarterback rating. Wandel Robertson had a career
- 9:43high 142 receiving yards and a touchdown, while Malik Neighbors
- 9:48finally not crying, he has 167 yards and two touchdowns.
- 9:54Where the Giants fell apart was on penalties, ladies and
- 9:58gentlemen, with 14 in the game, including four by the left
- 10:01tackle James Hudson on the same Dr. who eventually got benched
- 10:07after a an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.
- 10:11Rookie Mark just bow replaced him for the remainder of the
- 10:14game, a spot the Giants were hoping to have filled by Andrew
- 10:19Thomas, who is still still out. Ladies and gentlemen, throughout
- 10:24the offseason with foot surgery and foot injury, The Jets got
- 10:28blown out. Yes, I got a chance to watch
- 10:30this blowout and it wasn't exciting.
- 10:32If you're a Jets fan. I was watching it during an
- 10:35event that I was doing, a wedding that I was doing.
- 10:37Shout out to Nick and his family, Brian.
- 10:40It was a sensational wedding. I was emceeing 30 to 10 and
- 10:43Justin Fields left the game in the fourth with a likely
- 10:48concussion. Aaron Glenn did not confirm
- 10:52Fields had a concussion, but it is feared to be one of them.
- 10:57Fields had just 27 passing yards and 49 rushing yards before
- 11:01getting hurt. Glenn said Fields will not play
- 11:06in Week Three if he doesn't practice, which he did not
- 11:10earlier today, making Tyrod Taylor the starter versus the
- 11:14Buccaneers. Taylor finished with 83 passing
- 11:18yards in garbage time. The Bills defense held The Jets
- 11:22to 154 total yards and only 54 total passing yards.
- 11:28The Jets held the ball for under 22 minutes while the Bills had
- 11:33the ball for almost 40. The Bills controlled the game on
- 11:38the ground with 200 and 2724 rushing yards. 132 from the one
- 11:44and only James Cook who also had two touchdowns in the game.
- 11:49I want to get into the Giants game because a lot of people,
- 11:52The Jets game was really nothing to really complain about or
- 11:55argue about because The Jets absolutely sucked.
- 11:58The Giants put up a fight and they completely controlled the
- 12:02game in the first half. Completely controlled the game.
- 12:05The Cowboys could do nothing in the first half of the game.
- 12:09Dak Prescott looked like a shell of himself.
- 12:11And I know a lot of Jet fans would say I would take Dak
- 12:15Prescott over any quarterback we have right now, and I would be
- 12:18one of those guys to tell you. But the Giants showed up in the
- 12:22first half. They absolutely did.
- 12:24They outplayed them. Malik Neighbors, you heard, had
- 12:27162 yards. He had two touchdowns.
- 12:30You got a lot from the defense in the first half.
- 12:33There was a lot of mistakes. Both teams made a significant
- 12:36amount of mistakes. There's no question that they
- 12:38did. But the Giants again, in big
- 12:43parts of the game, especially the fourth quarter, where I'll
- 12:47say this again, Brian Schottenheimer is not a good
- 12:49coach. He's not.
- 12:51And I don't want to hear it from any any sports fan or football
- 12:54fan to tell me that he has. His father was a good coach but
- 12:57couldn't win the big one. Marty Schottenheimer could not
- 12:59win the big one. But Brian Schottenheimer out
- 13:03dueled Brian Dabel. Brian Dabel, quarterback
- 13:08whisperer, the guy that everybody said was going to be a
- 13:12good coach here in New York. Now Dabo obviously is on the hot
- 13:17seat. A lot of people at Vegas had him
- 13:19on the big on the hot seat. The number one coach that might
- 13:23be fired early this season because the Giants over the last
- 13:28two seasons have not shown up. They can't find guys in free
- 13:33agency. They bring in Runyon.
- 13:36Has Runyon been really good on the offensive line so far early
- 13:39this season? He hasn't.
- 13:40In two games. Runyon has not been good and
- 13:43this has been a problem for the New York Giants.
- 13:45Every GM they bring in, every coach they bring in since Tom
- 13:49Coughlin, Go look at the coaches the Giants have brought in and
- 13:52have failed for this organization.
- 13:55This has a lot to do with Mara and obviously the organization
- 13:59as a whole not keeping Saquon Barkley, letting Saquon Barkley
- 14:03go to a a nemesis over there with Philadelphia who wins the
- 14:07Super Bowl last year and almost breaks an Eric Dickerson record
- 14:11that everybody thinks will never be broken.
- 14:14The Giants sitting here today are trying to figure out who's
- 14:18their running back. Well, it's pretty simple who the
- 14:21running back is. We don't know who their running
- 14:23back is. They think it's got a Boo.
- 14:26Well, it's got a Boo. Had two receptions for 14 yards,
- 14:29catching the ball. Tracy had four catches for 36
- 14:34yards. They're not getting enough
- 14:36offensively from these running backs.
- 14:39Tracy ran the ball. Yeah, he had.
- 14:41He had five attempts. He had 15 yards.
- 14:43He was averaging 3 point, 3.3 yards a carry, singletary, the
- 14:49motor, whatever they call them, Ram jammer, one carry for four
- 14:54yards, and Scataboo obviously had 11 attempts for 45 yards and
- 14:59one touchdown. I don't know if Scataboo is a
- 15:02number one guy. He's more of a #2 guy.
- 15:05And I'll say this again, the Giants don't have enough
- 15:09efficiency offensively to really compete with these big time
- 15:14teams like the Eagles, like the Rams, like the the Packers.
- 15:18Now a team like the Cowboys, we don't know what the Cowboys are.
- 15:22We don't know what the the identity of the Cowboys are.
- 15:24They got a new coach. You bring in some new pieces in
- 15:27the offseason. The offensive line, there's a
- 15:29lot of questions on the offensive line and the defense.
- 15:32They lost Michael Parsons a week before the season started to go
- 15:36to Green Bay. This team in the New York Giants
- 15:42wasn't expected to be great. I was.
- 15:45I would have thought they would use Jackson Dark Dart a little
- 15:48bit more in the running game, even though he's not starting.
- 15:51I would use him in certain running plays.
- 15:53I would use him in some kind of, you know, you know, hitting ball
- 15:57track. I don't know.
- 15:59They were supposed to be one of these coaches that you think
- 16:02could be that offensive mind that that guy that the Giants
- 16:06have been looking for and he hasn't been over the last couple
- 16:08of years. He really hasn't.
- 16:10The guy that really showed up in the game, where's Russell Wilson
- 16:1430 for 41450 yards, 3 touchdowns and an interception.
- 16:19The old Russell Wilson showed up in game #2 does that tell me
- 16:24that Russell Wilson is back? He's going to be the starter for
- 16:26the rest of the season? The answer would be no, he
- 16:29wouldn't be. The Cowboys defense is
- 16:32horrendous. They have no secondary.
- 16:35The secondary stinks. They don't really have a pass
- 16:38rush. They're using multiple guys at
- 16:41the line of scrimmage. They have nothing.
- 16:44But the Cowboys have the one thing that I have said, and I'll
- 16:47go right back into it, they got DAC Prescott.
- 16:51And even though DAC Prescott didn't have those that game that
- 16:54just really is appealing to you, he still was 38 for 52.
- 16:58He still had 361 yards and he still had two touchdowns.
- 17:02He did throw an interception. His quarterback rating was at
- 17:0596. But he got enough running from
- 17:07Williams. Williams looks like he's a
- 17:09player. Williams did not work out with
- 17:11the Denver Broncos. He didn't.
- 17:13He was drafted from the Denver Broncos.
- 17:15I think he was a second round draft pick.
- 17:18He didn't work out over there, couldn't stay healthy.
- 17:21He goes to the Cowboys in the first two games.
- 17:24He had two touchdowns in the first game against the Eagles.
- 17:26Defense. That's really good.
- 17:28Even without Jane Lee Carter, it's a pretty good defense.
- 17:31And then it gets a Giants front 7 that's really good.
- 17:34With Dexter Lawrence and Thibodeau and the talent that
- 17:38they have on that line, the youngsters that they have on the
- 17:40line, you would have thought they would clog up the middle
- 17:44and make them beat them in the air.
- 17:47Well, Williams ran the ball. Lamb had 9 receptions for 112
- 17:52yards. Ferguson was 9 for 9 receptions
- 17:55for 78 yards. Pickens had finally a game,
- 17:59game, game #2 where he had five receptions for 68 yards and one
- 18:02touch on, I want to see more from Pickens.
- 18:05But here's the thing, the Giants really led the game all the way
- 18:11through till the fourth quarter. And what happened in the fourth
- 18:14quarter? Well, the choke and this is the
- 18:17problem. Coaching has a lot to do with
- 18:20this. If your coach cannot call the
- 18:23right times out, time out, if he can't control the game in the
- 18:27game clock, you don't have the right coach.
- 18:30Robert Saul is one of those guys as he's taking what receipts?
- 18:33He's still taking receipts over there in San Francisco, even
- 18:36though San Francisco's two and O the Giants.
- 18:40I don't know if this coaching staff is good enough to to win
- 18:45games like this, close games like this, because the Cowboys
- 18:47are not a good team. They have deficiencies, they
- 18:50have weaknesses. They have CD Lamb and they have
- 18:54Pickens. I I don't I don't think this is
- 18:56a dominant running game. I don't think their offensive
- 18:58lines that good. They have a couple of first
- 19:01rounders on that offensive line. Nevertheless, they're just
- 19:04they're young. They're they're still trying to
- 19:06figure out their identity with a young, with a new coach, a
- 19:08coach. It's never been a coach in the
- 19:10NFL has been an offensive coordinator.
- 19:12We know him as Jet fans as well under the Rex Ryan regime.
- 19:18This is not a good Cowboy team. It's not.
- 19:22But the Cowboys have the one thing that I believe teams are
- 19:26are looking for, and that's a kicker.
- 19:28This guy, I don't think you can say bad things about this guy.
- 19:33This guy was 4 for four. His longest field goal kick was
- 19:376464. This guy is not only the best
- 19:41kicker in the NFL, this guy was a soccer player.
- 19:45This guy changed his career from soccer to football.
- 19:51Look at the talent that this guy has given the Cowboys, the
- 19:55Cowboy. This guy can win games by
- 19:57himself, by himself, and that's what you need.
- 20:01Everybody says you need a good running game to win
- 20:03championships. You need a good quarterback.
- 20:05You need a good offensive line, you need a good defense.
- 20:07Guess what? In the playoffs, remember the
- 20:09the, those Patriot teams, early Patriot team, who, who was the
- 20:13kicker on those teams? Adam Vinatieri.
- 20:16Adam Vinatieri is a Hall of Famer.
- 20:18He will go to the Hall of Fame. You're going to tell me right
- 20:21now who's been the best kicker in the NFL for the last two
- 20:24seasons? There's no question it's been
- 20:26Aubrey. There's no question and you've
- 20:29got a chance. He put it on display on Sunday
- 20:34and the Giants had a chance to win it overtime.
- 20:36They did. And I again, I'm not going to
- 20:40blame this all on the coaching staff, but guess what?
- 20:43If Bryant Schottenheimer is calling more plays than you are,
- 20:49and if a rookie coach is in a position to play a veteran guy
- 20:55that's been there with the New York Giants over the last few
- 20:58seasons and is trying to buy a win by trying to buy a win
- 21:02against a team, let's be honest, was at home.
- 21:06The Cowboys and the Giants were out playing them.
- 21:09And for years Eli Manning has been dominated against the
- 21:12Cowboys in Dallas. Go look at Eli Manning's record
- 21:16in Dallas when he was there with the New York Giants.
- 21:19I mean, he was dominant and the Giants have always played well
- 21:23in Dallas. Go, I'm not even lying.
- 21:25Go look at the statistics. But the Giants, for some reason,
- 21:30when the going gets tough, they can't buy a win.
- 21:35And, and again, this is what separates the good teams from
- 21:38the bad because the NFL, even the great teams are not much
- 21:43better than the worst teams. They really, it's, it's very
- 21:47close. It, it's, it's actually
- 21:50minuscule. It might be, it might be by 5/10
- 21:54of a point. I mean, and that's how close it
- 21:56is. Kansas City, all those years,
- 21:59how dominant they were and the records that they've had.
- 22:02Look at the games, look how close the games were last year.
- 22:06Kansas City was they they what was their record?
- 22:09They had twelve wins last year, 1315 wins last year.
- 22:12And most of the games were won by by by a field goal.
- 22:17They barely won those games and they lost and and, and when they
- 22:21did lose, when they did lose what one game or two games, they
- 22:24were games that were so very close to when it when it comes
- 22:30to the NFL and I'll I'll go. And as a Jet fan, I've watched
- 22:33bad football for a very, very long time.
- 22:36As a matter of fact, I was talking to Leaf.
- 22:37And if Leaf's listening, we talk about it all the time.
- 22:41And I'll mention it again. The Jets have not been in the
- 22:45playoffs since I was 28 years old.
- 22:47I am 43 years old, ladies and gentlemen.
- 22:49That was the last time The Jets made an appearance in the
- 22:52playoffs 15 years ago. Think about that.
- 22:56This is the longest any NFL team right now to date has not been
- 23:01in the playoffs. Think about that.
- 23:03The Browns, all the bad teams that we've seen over the years,
- 23:06The Jets have been the worst. And how close has it been year
- 23:12in and year out, Year out, when even on the good years, Remember
- 23:15Todd Bowles, his first year The Jets won 10 games and they
- 23:17missed the playoffs by 1/2 a game.
- 23:21Think about that. I remember it last game of the
- 23:25season, I think it was against Rex Ryan.
- 23:27You got They got swept by Rex Ryan's Bills for the season.
- 23:29I, I remember it, pop it in my head.
- 23:32I remember it very well. And that was a year after Rex
- 23:35Ryan gets fired and it goes to the Bills.
- 23:39I just, to me, when you look at the Giants and you look at the
- 23:42position that the Giants are in, the Giants are not expected to
- 23:45win more than five or six games. And I don't think anybody's
- 23:48going to argue that. But Russell Wilson putting up
- 23:52numbers like that, what does it tell me right now?
- 23:54It tells me that he could still play.
- 23:55So if I were the Giants right now, I'd wait a couple more
- 24:00weeks and they'll be a team, maybe the Bengals, who just lost
- 24:05Joe Burrow for a significant amount of time.
- 24:07We don't know when he's going to come back.
- 24:08He's probably going to have foot surgery.
- 24:10They're saying he could be out five, maybe even 8 weeks.
- 24:13He could be out of maybe for the rest of the season.
- 24:16We don't know how it's going to heal.
- 24:17Turf toe is a bad injury when it comes to football.
- 24:20Russell Wilson might be a fit because I don't I don't trust
- 24:25what is his name? Browner Jake Browning Browning.
- 24:28I mean, I don't trust him. I'm going to trust him if if the
- 24:31Bengals sneak into the playoffs. I, I don't and by the.
- 24:34Way Jameis Winston baby. Jameis Winston, he he's washed
- 24:37up. I mean, I guess that him to the
- 24:38Bengals. So what do they call themselves?
- 24:40The three Amigos or whatever the two Amigos now?
- 24:42Because. Two manure because cutlets says
- 24:43goodbye. Oh well, Cutlets is playing with
- 24:45himself over there with the Patriots.
- 24:47But nevertheless, I, I, you look at the position that the Giants
- 24:50are in, they might be in a position where they can get
- 24:53something back for Russell Wilson.
- 24:54And we've seen this. The Giants had Kurt Warner, they
- 24:57had a winning record when they decided to part ways with Kurt,
- 25:00they sent him to Arizona and they ran and they rolled with
- 25:04Eli Manning. This is good.
- 25:06There's going to be a time probably in the next couple of
- 25:09weeks, maybe against the Saints because I think it's Week 5
- 25:12where they should go to that route.
- 25:14Maybe they go with Jackson Dart and then at the trade deadline,
- 25:18which is what 2 weeks after that, you trade Russell Wilson,
- 25:21Maybe you get a third round draft pick for Russell Wilson.
- 25:24Maybe the Bengals will be reaching because they know
- 25:26they're a playoff contender team and they know they're not
- 25:28getting Joe Burrow back. Well, they'll overextend it and
- 25:31give him a second round pick. That's where the Giants are
- 25:34going. But it to me, if you're a Giant
- 25:36fan, I I would be pissed. I would be upset.
- 25:41I know Fish is a Giant fan. I know you're a Giant fan,
- 25:44Speedy. I know Scoops is a Giant fan.
- 25:47I know Kevin right now listening to the show is a Giant fan.
- 25:50All you Giant fans out there, you're probably not happy today.
- 25:53The only thing I would be happy about is the fact that your team
- 25:58worked. They still, even when they let
- 26:02the Cowboys come back in the game, they still had a chance to
- 26:05win the game. They still didn't quit.
- 26:08Even though I believe one way or another these players are going
- 26:11to quit just like the The Jets and Garrett Wilson and and Aaron
- 26:15Rodgers quit on Roberts Allah last year.
- 26:17I think eventually this team knows that they're not getting
- 26:20over overextended as far as their talent is concerned and
- 26:25they're going to realize they're not going to win more than five
- 26:27or six games and, and, and they're going to be up there in
- 26:30the top 10 when it comes to draft picks next year.
- 26:33So I, I, I, I know Giant fans are upset.
- 26:36Cowboy fans are excited. I don't know why you're excited.
- 26:38The Cowboys are going nowhere this year.
- 26:40You could see it. The Giants are not a good team.
- 26:42And by the way, the Giant strength was their defense
- 26:45really in game #1 if they were not good in game #2 they were
- 26:49not good when you're giving Dak Prescott 360 yards and you're
- 26:53letting the running team, running game of Williams run all
- 26:57over you in certain aspects of the game.
- 26:59And by the way, letting CD Lamb and Ferguson and Pickens just
- 27:05completely control the game in the first all, well, not in the
- 27:09first quarter, but it from all the way from the third quarter
- 27:12to the fourth, it was pathetic. And that has a lot to do with
- 27:14coaching. That has a lot to do with the
- 27:16defensive coordinator and has a lot to do with Dabel.
- 27:18But they what, they took it to overtime and then they just
- 27:23bumped into a just a hot, hot kicker.
- 27:25Yeah. And you also look at the defense
- 27:27from the standpoint of how much talent that they have compared
- 27:29to the offensive side of the ball.
- 27:30Like the offense overachieved with not having the talent.
- 27:33Obviously the offensive line, which with Thomas being heard
- 27:35and obviously Hudson getting ejected and all stepped in and
- 27:38actually played pretty well. I think you look at like you
- 27:41said, there were variances with the running game that looked
- 27:42good. There were variances that are
- 27:43still going to be growing pain because they're both they're all
- 27:45young running backs. But Wandale Robinson was a great
- 27:48he actually, he's had a good first two games so.
- 27:50Far he does, he does look good. And that might be another guy
- 27:53like you were talking about Russell Wilson possibly being
- 27:54traded the trade deadline. He's out on a contract year.
- 27:56I think they declined his fifth year option.
- 27:58Maybe you could? See, no, you finally got
- 28:00something with him and you're going to just move him?
- 28:02Well, see, he's out there because again, there's a lot of
- 28:04teams. Like, what are you going to get
- 28:05for him? Speedy?
- 28:06He, he's a slot guy at best. He is not a number one guy.
- 28:09He's not a #2 he's more of a slot guy.
- 28:11Number three. I'm not moving Wandell
- 28:13Robertson. As a matter of fact, if he has a
- 28:15good day, if he has a Goodyear, you extend him, you give him a
- 28:18contract, give him a 2-3 year deal worth about 30 million, you
- 28:21get him for $10 million. And he could be very explosive.
- 28:24I, I know Fish loves him. And, and for you to think that,
- 28:28hey, you know what, we're just going to move and we're finally
- 28:30getting something out of this kid and we're going to move him.
- 28:32That doesn't make any sense. And going back to the defensive
- 28:34side of the ball, like that's where the talent is a lot more.
- 28:37And I think that's where the coaching I think hurt.
- 28:39I think they had a good game plan on CD.
- 28:40Lamb, he was like 3/4. He was doing nothing.
- 28:42And then all of a sudden in the fourth quarter, he started to
- 28:44take off when the Giants were playing softer.
- 28:46When the going gets tough in the fourth quarter, that's when you
- 28:50have to stop him. And if if you can't stop him in
- 28:52the fourth quarter, you never stop them.
- 28:54And I think the bigger issue was the fact that the Giants had
- 28:57trouble with their other receivers.
- 28:58Kvante Turpin was getting way too much separation against
- 29:01Paulson and Debo. A lot of the time they put a
- 29:02Debo back on the other side of the field, playing in his own
- 29:05against Lamb, and he got outmatched badly.
- 29:07Cordell, Fly and Drew, Phil. I told you about a depot.
- 29:10I, I just, I don't know why you guys think, Oh well, he was good
- 29:13here and he was good there. Guy couldn't stay healthy and
- 29:16he's not a, he's really not a #1 or #2 and and really, how many
- 29:20seasons has he had a full season where he's played 1617 games?
- 29:23Yeah, he didn't play much at the beginning of his career with the
- 29:25Saints when they drafted him. I remember he, I liked him out
- 29:27of the draft that year because he was supposed to be a second,
- 29:29first or second round pick. He fell because of the COVID
- 29:32year. He had an injury in college.
- 29:34He stayed one more year, but I always liked his talent level.
- 29:37But they've missed used him a lot so far, like he's much more
- 29:39of a physical corner that I think they're trying to use more
- 29:41as a soft bank sucks. Banks I don't trust.
- 29:44At all. He sucks.
- 29:45This guy was a first round talent.
- 29:47Yes, and this was Shane's number one pick.
- 29:49This was his first. First round pick has been an
- 29:52absolute bust. Yep, absolute bust.
- 29:54I remember that draft because I badly wanted Jordan Addison.
- 29:56He went to pick before to Minnesota and then I wanted Joey
- 29:59Porter once they all the receivers were off the board.
- 30:01I wanted Joey Porter and he's obviously, I don't know what I'm
- 30:03saying, he's the best corner in that class, but he's not
- 30:04definitely. I've played Banks so far in his
- 30:05career, but when you have a front seven that good too, like
- 30:07you're saying they're. Banks isn't playing.
- 30:10He didn't play speedy. They benched his ass.
- 30:12Good. He stinks.
- 30:13He's not playing. He stinks.
- 30:15He's horrible. That that that's like the
- 30:18Giants. I mean, Speedy, I had to
- 30:20interject just because there's so much problems with this.
- 30:25The secondary, there's so many problems.
- 30:27It's not just the secondary, it's the coach of the secondary
- 30:31and in my opinion, playing soft zone coverage at the end of the
- 30:36game when the guy you know can kick 65 yard field goals.
- 30:39He's a fireable offense. What are you doing?
- 30:42What are you stupid? This is the best kicker in
- 30:44football. It's not even close.
- 30:46You're going to just play prevent defense.
- 30:48Fish, let me ask you this too, because this is the biggest
- 30:51thing I had with Bowen. Why is Abdul Carter inside?
- 30:54No, I love that. I disagree.
- 30:56This is the JJ Watt. JJ Watt was the first guy about
- 31:0012 years ago that they were like, hey, if this guy's really
- 31:02good pass rushing, let's put him inside every once in a while to
- 31:06bring some pressure from there and we can put another skinnier
- 31:08guy who might not be able to hold up if he's getting double
- 31:11teams. He ain't going to get double
- 31:12teams if JJ Watts inside. So now Carter's bringing that
- 31:15pressure inside. And Brian Burns was awesome in
- 31:18the game, and Dexter Lawrence occupies a lot of space.
- 31:21So the pass rush is not the problem.
- 31:24The problem problem is in those situations, bring everybody,
- 31:29bring people don't play zone coverage at this point.
- 31:33I mean, you could play like 2 over like 2 under or three
- 31:36under. I'm sorry like 3 deep rather and
- 31:40and then have guys playing man under.
- 31:42Guys, don't you? Think five guys.
- 31:43Don't you think it's dropping? Don't you think if Wink
- 31:46Martindale was here, this would have been a different game?
- 31:48And that. You have to play 70 to now it'd
- 31:51be 70. I don't think so, because you
- 31:53were just saying that they needed to.
- 31:54He would have played Tay Banks because Tay Banks is a press
- 31:56corner. But they needed to.
- 31:58They needed to get out Dak Prescott.
- 32:00They needed to put pressure on him, and they weren't doing it
- 32:02enough. And especially in the fourth
- 32:03quarter, I watched game clips because I didn't get a chance to
- 32:06watch the full game. I was in and out of the jet game
- 32:08because I was emceeing a wedding, but when I got a chance
- 32:11to watch the increments of of of certain parts of the game I just
- 32:16didn't see any blitz packages. I Dabel was a deer of the
- 32:20headlights and and really was out coached by Brian
- 32:23Schottenheimer in the 4th. Quarter I disagree.
- 32:25I Dabel did everything he could to win that really he did
- 32:29everything. Defense, not the defense.
- 32:30He did everything. Not the defense.
- 32:33He did everything. He coached a better game
- 32:35offensively than Schottenheimer did.
- 32:37Let's not pretend that he didn't.
- 32:38He was a really good coach with a quarterback that wanted to do
- 32:42what he wanted to do was just air it out.
- 32:44You've got guys to air it out too.
- 32:45They have speed. I I don't know why they can't
- 32:48unlock Hyatt, but they are able to get Neighbors go.
- 32:51I don't understand it, but Neighbors was unstoppable.
- 32:54I'm not going to be mad at Paulson and Debo not being able
- 32:57to stop CD Lamb. No one stops CD Lamb.
- 32:59My problem was his stopping Turpin.
- 33:01I don't know why he's Turpin in so much space.
- 33:02Well, it's because because it's a soft zone coverage speedy,
- 33:05he's playing telling him playoff.
- 33:07He's saying like, Oh well, we'll playoff and then our four guys
- 33:11will just get home every time. In the NFL, even though that's
- 33:14not a realistic thing, they'll get home one out of three times.
- 33:18Well, what if two of those plays are for 30 yards each that they
- 33:21don't get home on? You got to be more creative with
- 33:24the pressures. You're right.
- 33:25So, I mean, Errol, I don't disagree with you, and I'm sorry
- 33:28for jumping ahead of you, Jabba, but this one just got me so
- 33:31freaking pissed off because you're right, Wink, it would
- 33:34have been very different. Wink was bad for one reason and
- 33:37then he went to the polar opposite guy who's bad for the
- 33:39other reason, the guy who blitzes too much now, the guy
- 33:42who doesn't blitz at all. They, you know, and even if he
- 33:44does blitz, it's a crappy four man pressure.
- 33:47You know, just they dropped one lineman and then they brought a
- 33:51linebacker. You lost Micah McFadden, he was
- 33:53your best blitzing linebacker. You don't have a second guy
- 33:56that's going to do it now. So they, they don't, they're not
- 33:58bringing guys. So that's why Carter's playing
- 34:00inside because they don't really have a middle linebacker so that
- 34:03they want to caroke to flow. He's not a blitzing guy.
- 34:06I, I, I, I think that they're kind of screwed with some of the
- 34:10personnel. If this coach is allowed to
- 34:13stay, it's the coach. This coach, this is the wrong.
- 34:15Scheme for this group of notes dable is not staying as the New
- 34:19York. Giants Well, well, even if it
- 34:21Dable stays the defensive. Is not has.
- 34:23He's not that whole. And I don't care what anybody
- 34:26says. I don't care what Mara is saying
- 34:27and what ownership is saying that both Shane and Dabo are
- 34:31going to have a job at the end of this season no matter what
- 34:33happens. I don't believe that there's no
- 34:35way the fans are going to be happy about that when we've
- 34:38watched this team just completely fall flat on their
- 34:41face with the talent that they have on the defensive line.
- 34:44They didn't do enough in the second-half of the game where
- 34:47you want your big time superstars like the Carters of
- 34:50the World or the Thibodeaux of the world or even Mr. Dexy Sexy,
- 34:56whatever you want to call them. But Jabba, I mean, you watched a
- 34:59game. What, what were your thoughts?
- 35:01What was your process of elimination on what happened to
- 35:04the New York Giants in the second-half of the game?
- 35:07Well, it was, it was always interesting because it's like,
- 35:10of course, you know, Russ is going to have this week against
- 35:13my fantasy team. There's a couple of buddies that
- 35:15just you know how that goes, but it's just it's kind of all over
- 35:19the place for me. Like they, they figure it looks
- 35:21like they figure it out, then they don't figure it out.
- 35:23They try to switch it up and then it doesn't happen.
- 35:25I, I found something interesting though, that you, that you
- 35:27touched on with, with Jackson Dart and how you thought you'd
- 35:30see him maybe in some packages or whatever.
- 35:32And how you said maybe week 5 is when he's going to come about.
- 35:36Do you really think they would do that in essence of, OK, what
- 35:40if he gets hurt just trying to, you know, put him in these
- 35:43packages? He's not our quarterback, but
- 35:46we're trying to use them in different, in different
- 35:48formations or what have you. I, I don't know if they would do
- 35:51that. I, I, I think in hindsight, our
- 35:53theory, I think it, it looks great because you get him on the
- 35:56field, but what if he gets hurt not being the quarterback?
- 35:59And you know, Russ does have, obviously it's weak too.
- 36:02So we don't really know. But I, I see where you're coming
- 36:06from, but I mean, what wouldn't it do more harm than good?
- 36:09Like if for something happened. Well, they used Jackson, Jackson
- 36:13Dart, and he had one attempt for -3 so he was on the field at one
- 36:17point in this game. I'm looking at the numbers.
- 36:20He did play and he had one running attempt.
- 36:23I think they need to use him more.
- 36:25I think he needs to get a little bit more comfortable, maybe
- 36:28using some trick plays, some running and throwing plays with
- 36:31Jackson Dart. It'll get him more.
- 36:33Remember, he was playing against third string defensive players
- 36:36in the preseason. He wasn't playing against the
- 36:38top front lines of these defensive teams that they that
- 36:43they were matched up. I mean, when they were playing
- 36:45The Jets, I, I quit. Quinton Williams wasn't playing.
- 36:48Quincy Williams wasn't playing, McDonald wasn't playing, they
- 36:51weren't getting enough and he didn't get a chance to see the
- 36:55star players that The Jets were providing and what The Jets have
- 36:58provided over the last two weeks.
- 36:59So again, you have to give this kid a little bit more
- 37:03opportunities to see the field and understand how to play.
- 37:07And remember the speed of the game is completely different
- 37:09than college football. And remember, all you need to do
- 37:12is drop 1 foot and it and it's a touchdown.
- 37:15You need both feet down for it to be a touchdown.
- 37:18And we all know about to touch back in all the different rules
- 37:21that the NFL provides that the NCAA doesn't.
- 37:25So it's a different game. And in the speed of the game,
- 37:27the talent look at. Did you watch the Eagles
- 37:30yesterday against the Kansas City Chiefs?
- 37:32I mean, you could see the talent of what?
- 37:35How fast the Eagles are comparison to what the Kansas
- 37:39City Chiefs are. Kansas City looks old.
- 37:41They look different than they have been over the last couple
- 37:44of years. Travis Kelce made a mistake,
- 37:47which cost them the game. It's not the same.
- 37:50It's not the same speed. And it's not the same game that
- 37:53guys like Andy Reid like to run. Yeah, because he doesn't have
- 37:57the talent around him. That's why they made the move.
- 37:59That's why they brought guys, you know, worthy.
- 38:03What's his name again? Rice, Nice and worthy.
- 38:05Worthy. They had they they made a move
- 38:07and they brought worthy in in the first round.
- 38:09What was it a year ago? So thank you.
- 38:12But you could have you could have corrected me a little while
- 38:15ago, but you couldn't. But I the fact is, is they're
- 38:17waiting for Rice to come back. That's what.
- 38:19They're doing no, no. And I, I see what you're saying
- 38:22in, in, in all of that, but then don't you think at times they
- 38:26put a little bit too much emphasis on this on pre season
- 38:282? Because like you said, the game
- 38:30is so much faster. And then in pre season, you're
- 38:31really not getting, you know, full speed, full boat guys and,
- 38:34and most of their, the true G's aren't playing.
- 38:37So they're like, how do you, how do you do that and put him in
- 38:41positions to get him adjusted to the speed?
- 38:44Why in certain aspects, we've seen guys that, you know, maybe
- 38:47sit can adjust to the speed and, and pick it up faster than guys
- 38:50that are just thrown right in the.
- 38:51I don't, I don't know that that would be tables.
- 38:55We got to move on to the jail. Like a like a spring training
- 38:58thing, like you just see a guy if he just has it like the zip
- 39:02on the arm, like he probably know like Jabba, like in in
- 39:05baseball, like though, it just sounds different off the bat.
- 39:07Even though if you're in batting practice, it's like that type of
- 39:10thing in spring training where you're just like, oh, this guy
- 39:12has something, he's going to be a guy, let's keep him around.
- 39:15And it's just those types of things.
- 39:17You'll see Jackson dart as soon as you see Andrew Thomas.
- 39:20He ain't coming onto the field until Thomas is back.
- 39:22I I think you see Jackson dart week, week five against the
- 39:26Saints because the Saints are not a good team.
- 39:29And even though the Saints put up a fight against San Francisco
- 39:33on Sunday, the Saints are not a good team.
- 39:35So and they don't have a star quarterback as we all know
- 39:38they're going to be looking for one in in this year's draft.
- 39:40But to go to the Jet game, there's really nothing to speak
- 39:43about or or talk about. The Jets were just absolutely
- 39:46horrible. They could not stop Josh Allen.
- 39:49Josh Allen could do whatever he wanted in the game.
- 39:53There was nothing that I saw that could have stopped.
- 39:56And again, Josh Allen didn't. The numbers don't show it
- 39:59because you'll see Josh Allen was 14 for 25 and he had 148
- 40:03yards. It looked a lot worse and The
- 40:05Jets made a lot of mistakes. Clemens, that penalty that he
- 40:08had in the game, I mean, to me, no nonsense.
- 40:12Aaron Glenn to me either suspends him in the next game,
- 40:16doesn't play him in the first half when you when you do
- 40:19something like that. We saw what he did to the punt
- 40:21returner and after. To game number one, they they
- 40:24dropped them and we all we've we've heard it.
- 40:27We've heard it from Aaron Glenn. He is not letting any of the
- 40:30players on the team, no matter who you are, Garrett Wilson,
- 40:33who's the star wide receiver or Bruce Hall, who's to start
- 40:35running back or even Justin Fields when you make an
- 40:38incompetent play in a game that could cost your team a win, what
- 40:43is he going to do? He's going to drop the hammer on
- 40:45you and Clemens. To me, that was inexcusable what
- 40:49he did in the game. And we've seen that Quincy,
- 40:52Quincy Williams last game in game #1 he made a mistake and
- 40:56hit a guy outside of the hashes outside out of bounds, which
- 41:00cost them 15 yards. When they maybe and maybe The
- 41:03Jets win the game if they didn't get that penalty.
- 41:06That Quincy Williams, because it was I think at the point it was
- 41:08going to be 4th and 10. And then he, he, he commits that
- 41:11foul, which gave him a first down and put him in in a
- 41:15position on the 50 or 48 yards hard line with Quincy Williams.
- 41:19The Jets make too many mistakes. They make too many mistakes.
- 41:23And then Josh Allen went out for for a couple of plays.
- 41:27Mitchell Chabitsky came in and he threw a 32 yard pass.
- 41:30I mean it well, I don't even think it was 3022 yard pass.
- 41:34And then he threw another. I, I, it was 32 or 22, I don't
- 41:38know, but it was a couple of, it was a big, it was a big play
- 41:40that Mitchell Trabitsky made, which I, I mean, it doesn't mean
- 41:45anything, but it's Mitchell Trabitsky.
- 41:48OK, so I, I just, and then Justin Fields.
- 41:51Justin Fields did not have a good day.
- 41:54He didn't, I mean, 3 for 11. He did have the concussion.
- 41:58He did. And Taylor came in.
- 42:00They couldn't run the ball. The Jets could not run the ball
- 42:02if their life depended on, Remember, they had over almost
- 42:05300 yards in game number one against a Pittsburgh Steeler
- 42:08defense. And then in game #2 against a
- 42:11Buffalo, a Buffalo defense that might be a little bit better
- 42:15than Pittsburgh. You couldn't run a lick.
- 42:17Trish Hall was 10 attempts for 29 yards.
- 42:20Taylor, yeah, Taylor, a quarterback that can run, was 3
- 42:27attempts for 21 yards. Braylon Allen, 2 attempts for 11
- 42:31yards. They couldn't run the ball.
- 42:33They even use Smith, a wide receiver, in the running game
- 42:36and he had a -10 they couldn't do anything.
- 42:39The wide receivers. Garrett Wilson was for reception
- 42:43for 50 yards. Didn't do anything in the game.
- 42:46Their their second, their second most attack, you know, catches
- 42:50in the game was Breece Hall who had two receptions for 9 yards.
- 42:54Everybody else 8 yards, 6 yards, 5 yards, 5 yards.
- 42:57They didn't have enough offense. They made too many mistakes.
- 43:00Special teams again was absolutely putrid in the game.
- 43:04They couldn't kick the ball. It just everything and anything
- 43:07they could have done wrong, it happened and and they were down
- 43:11at 1.20 to three in the first half of the game.
- 43:15The game was over in the second quarter.
- 43:18There was no way The Jets were coming back.
- 43:20The defense didn't put enough pressure on Josh Allen.
- 43:23As a matter of fact, I don't even think they had a sack in
- 43:25the game. They had four sacks in game #1
- 43:30and they didn't have one sack against the Buffalo Bills
- 43:33offensive line, a Buffalo Bills offensive line that Dawkins
- 43:36doesn't shut the hell up, Talks about The Jets defense, how it's
- 43:39overrated that this Jet, this Jets team is, is not good.
- 43:42It's never been good. They're laughing stock.
- 43:44They're one of the worst teams in the NFL, one of the worst
- 43:47ownerships in the NFL. You would you would think that
- 43:50this team would have went out on your home soil, on your home
- 43:53turf and actually show up. The Jets last year, both games
- 43:58against Buffalo, they should have won both games.
- 44:00They choked in the fourth quarter against Buffalo when
- 44:03they had a lead. I think they were up by almost
- 44:058IN in the fourth quarter with what, 8 minutes left of the game
- 44:08and they choked and then in in game number one, they won that
- 44:12game. They didn't.
- 44:14They didn't show up there. They, by the way, Aaron Glenn
- 44:17had every reason to be upset after the game in front of the
- 44:20media, had every reason to go out there and and throw.
- 44:24They didn't throw any players under the bus.
- 44:26But he said my team didn't show up in the game.
- 44:27It looked like we weren't even there.
- 44:30We had no business being on the same field as the Buffalo Bills.
- 44:33It was embarrassing, embarrassing to show up against
- 44:38a division opponent, a division opponent that has been the best
- 44:42team in the division for the last Four Seasons, five seasons
- 44:47really. And you would expect, hey, this
- 44:49is the game where we're going to figure out what separates us
- 44:53from the Buffalo Bills and what's going to what is it going
- 44:56to take for us to get over the hump and win the division in the
- 45:00near future. And what did they do?
- 45:02They laid up a lousy goose egg. And I again, there, there was
- 45:06nothing that impressive with the Buffalo Bills offense.
- 45:09There really wasn't. They couldn't they couldn't get
- 45:11to Josh Allen and Josh Allen's numbers weren't ridiculous.
- 45:15He didn't have any touchdowns thrown.
- 45:17They, they, they had none of that.
- 45:18But I'll tell you what Josh Allen does great.
- 45:20He runs the ball. Josh Allen had more runs.
- 45:26Well, actually I'm looking at the numbers right now.
- 45:28Josh Allen had 60, what is it, 62?
- 45:31No 59 yards running in six attempts.
- 45:35Josh Allen outran any. And by the way, Justin Fields
- 45:38had 5049 rushing yards and and he played.
- 45:42He didn't play the full game. Josh Allen ran the ball more
- 45:45than any of The Jets running backs and more than Justin
- 45:48Fields. And Justin Fields is considered
- 45:51a running back. That's what he is.
- 45:53He's not a thrower, he's a runner.
- 45:55And Josh Allen outran Justin Fields in the game.
- 45:58Now, again, Justin Fields went down, but there were too many
- 46:01mistakes, too many penalties. I think they had six or seven
- 46:03penalties in the first half and in the fourth.
- 46:06In the fourth quarter, I think they had three or four, which
- 46:09were timely penalties that cost The Jets significantly.
- 46:14Now, if The Jets had any chance of coming back in the game, it
- 46:17was in certain parts of the fourth quarter, even with Tyrod
- 46:19Taylor, and they just couldn't produce.
- 46:22They couldn't put up points and Gary Wilson, as much as Garrett
- 46:26Wilson is a great player against these good defenses, a good
- 46:29secondaries, he doesn't show up in the big game.
- 46:31He doesn't. And they don't have secondary
- 46:33wide receivers. They don't have any secondary
- 46:36wide receivers. And this is going to be the
- 46:38problem moving forward this year.
- 46:40This is going. To well, if they don't have
- 46:41anybody too and then he, I mean he's still got 8 targets, but if
- 46:44you don't have anybody to take the pressure off you and you've
- 46:46got to try and do too much, that's not going to that's not
- 46:49going to be any help anyways. And especially if you can't run
- 46:51the ball and then field it. I mean, yeah, he's not that guy
- 46:54anyways, but you're still going to target him that much but with
- 46:57nothing to help. But that's what Justin Fields
- 46:59wanted. That's what The Jets wanted.
- 47:00They wanted to make. Sure.
- 47:01Yeah, yeah. The connection bag.
- 47:03Yeah, the connection and and wanted The Jets make a move for
- 47:05Olave. He was available before the
- 47:07season started. He was a guy that everybody was
- 47:09speaking about. He doesn't want to be over there
- 47:11with the Saints. Why don't you offer a third
- 47:14round draft pick for Olave? I think that would have that
- 47:16would have closed the deal. I think Olave gets traded to the
- 47:19New York Jets. They needed that secondary wide
- 47:22receiver because Gary Wilson is getting double teamed.
- 47:24But Garrett Wilson goes out there week in and week out, even
- 47:27last year saying how great he is and nobody can stop him
- 47:31one-on-one. OK, there were parts of this
- 47:33game that he was one-on-one and and and Fields was forcing the
- 47:38ball in in pockets that he could have caught the ball and he
- 47:41dropped the ball. He dropped the ball.
- 47:44So again, I'm not going to say this is all Garrett Wilson's
- 47:47fault. I'm not going to blame The Jets
- 47:49coaching staff, but maybe on the defensive side of the ball The
- 47:53Jets need to show up in the big parts of the game.
- 47:55I I will say this, I Quinn Williams was dominant last week.
- 47:59He was not good this week. The defensive line with Will
- 48:03McDonald and and Jermaine Johnson guys that showed up last
- 48:07week and I said, oh man, this this defense could be a world
- 48:10beater this year. They they looked like AP of what
- 48:14they were the week before. And and again, I want to see The
- 48:17Jets show up against these good offensive lines because the
- 48:20Buffalo Bills last year were ranked in the top ten offensive
- 48:23lines in football. You want to, you want to shut
- 48:26Dawkins up, you punch him in the lip, you punch him in the chest.
- 48:30You make sure that at the end of the game Dawkins knows who the
- 48:34New York Jets is, knows who Quinton Williams is, knows who
- 48:38guy like Will McDonald is, and they just didn't show up in the
- 48:41game. That's the problem.
- 48:42The Jets defense, their secondary was not good.
- 48:46Their front 7 was not good. And that's two games
- 48:49back-to-back games where when they needed a play, they needed
- 48:52an interception, they needed a game changing pick six.
- 48:55They couldn't produce. And if they don't do that week
- 48:58in and week out, at least get a pick or a pick six in every
- 49:02other game. The Jets are not winning
- 49:04football games because their offense.
- 49:06Is not So you're saying if they can't get it done winning, just
- 49:09go ahead and then like just put punishment on them?
- 49:11Is that what you're saying? What I'm saying is, what I'm
- 49:14saying is, is if The Jets can't punch this team or punch any of
- 49:18these teams in the lip early in the game, they're not winning.
- 49:21They need to find a way for this defense.
- 49:23Sauce Garner got paid a lot of money in the offseason.
- 49:26He needs to reduce, he needs to show up.
- 49:28He had a chance to intercept the ball in the first quarter.
- 49:31It was right in his hands and it falls on the ground.
- 49:34How do you not intercept the ball?
- 49:36It was right there in your hands and and it goes right through
- 49:39your hands. So who's the guy to step up for
- 49:42him to kind of, you know, swift kick, Swift kick in the you know
- 49:45what? Well, Aaron Glenn's going to
- 49:47give him a swift kick in the ass.
- 49:48Well, yeah, I mean, but obviously sometimes it comes
- 49:51down to you guys too. There's only so much a coach can
- 49:53do because like we everybody's talked about before, they can
- 49:56only do so much. They don't play the game.
- 49:58Your captain there has to be somebody.
- 50:00Your captains Quinn Williams, Quinn Williams needs to show up
- 50:03against these good offensive lines.
- 50:04Sauce Garner got paid. Garrett Wilson that got paid.
- 50:07If you're making this kind of Quinn Williams is making, what
- 50:10is he the third or fourth highest paid defensive lineman
- 50:12and all of the NFL and you're making that kind of money.
- 50:15You have to show up in the big game against those good
- 50:17offensive lines. Sauce Garner is the highest paid
- 50:19corner in the NFL. You got to show up and you got
- 50:22to intercept that ball and and show why The Jets decided to
- 50:27invest their money into you as a corner.
- 50:29And then Gary Wilson, he's the fifth highest paid wide receiver
- 50:34in the NFL. And against a secondary that
- 50:37really it wasn't at full strength, they really weren't.
- 50:40You should be able to beat him one-on-one.
- 50:43You couldn't, you couldn't beat him and that's what your
- 50:46superstar players need to show up in the big game and produce
- 50:50and they're just not doing it if they're not going to do that.
- 50:53The Jets aren't winning that many games.
- 50:55I already predicted The Jets win 5 or 6 games at best right now
- 50:58in the way they're playing. It could be even worse.
- 51:01And again, Aaron Glenn has every right to be pissed off at this
- 51:04team. Every right.
- 51:05I love what he had to say. I love what he said at the press
- 51:08conference. I love what he said today.
- 51:10We have to play better. We have to show up in the big
- 51:12game and in the second-half. If we get out played in the
- 51:15first half, we got to show up in the second-half and punch these
- 51:18guys in the lip. If they're not going to do that,
- 51:20this team doesn't have an identity.
- 51:23They need to find it and they need to find it soon because
- 51:25teams they're it's only going to get harder.
- 51:27The schedule is going to get harder.
- 51:29They're playing the Buccaneers next week.
- 51:31You think the Buccaneers are going to play Lolly Dolly with
- 51:33them. They're going to go out there
- 51:35and they're going to be beat the living.
- 51:37You know what out of them and they're going to Buccaneers
- 51:39Village, they're going to Tampa and Tampa is not one of those
- 51:44places you want to play and especially that's a defense that
- 51:46good. Yeah, and I think Aaron Glenn
- 51:48also has a right to be frustrated, too, because a lot
- 51:50of the mistakes they were making was fundamentally like missing
- 51:53tackles, missing blocking pass, rushing assignments, running
- 51:57lanes that James Cook had all these gaping holes to just run
- 52:00through. Like you're talking about their
- 52:01offensive. I'm being very good.
- 52:02It is very good. But like The Jets have enough
- 52:04talent to be able to adjust it in that in the front 7:00 to be
- 52:07able to adjust to that. I agree with you on Sauce
- 52:08Gardner. That might have been the worst
- 52:09game I've ever seen him play in his career.
- 52:11He was getting torched by Josh Palmer.
- 52:13How do you pay him the money that he made in the offseason
- 52:16when he had his worst season as a professional last year, right?
- 52:19Think about it. He was a back-to-back years as
- 52:22an old pro player. He was the best corner
- 52:24statistically in the NFL for those two years and then last
- 52:28year he was second. I PFS says he was He was the
- 52:31second best corner in the league in my eyes, in Errol's eyes, in
- 52:35the Marx view, he was horrible. He was putrid, terrible.
- 52:40You show up in the big game and you stop teams as good as Josh
- 52:44Allen in the Buffalo Bills, and he didn't show up.
- 52:47Intercept that goddamn ball. You suck Sauce.
- 52:51The only sauce I'm going to be eating is the chicken sauce that
- 52:55I'm going to have on my fries with my honey mustard.
- 52:58Yeah, and last year, obviously you were talking about it with
- 53:00with the Giants before. Like last year the the team just
- 53:03gave up on Robert Sala. They quit on him.
- 53:05Like there was a lack of effort. Like, I think a lot of what
- 53:07sauces issues were last year. Obviously, there was a
- 53:09mysterious injury in Week 1 against the 49ers.
- 53:12Is that the excuse now? No, no, I'm mysterious injury
- 53:15that he had No. No, no, I'm not saying.
- 53:16I'm not saying it's the only reason.
- 53:17I think it was mostly. Like, how about staying off of
- 53:19those Buffalo Wild Wing commercials?
- 53:21I don't want to see his face. I don't want to know who's
- 53:23dating. He's dating this rap star in the
- 53:25offseason. What is her spicy Q?
- 53:28Whatever her name is, I don't. Spicy are you talking?
- 53:30Are you talking about a beat up sauce or his girlfriend?
- 53:33I'm talking about ice spice, Ice spice, whatever.
- 53:35The ice spice. Yeah, her name, whatever the.
- 53:38Spice Girls. That's about it.
- 53:40I don't care who's dating I. Like Buffalo wild ice, Buffalo
- 53:43spice. That's like a wheel of fortune.
- 53:45Like. What a name and after he's
- 53:47dating a girl named Spice and his name is sauce perfect spicy
- 53:51sauce. They're they're a bunch of
- 53:52idiots. OK, I didn't care who he was
- 53:54dating. All I heard in the offseason
- 53:57just who he's dating and you see pictures of her.
- 53:59I could careless who he's dating and I know Miss Spice is best
- 54:02friends with Taylor Swift. Who cares?
- 54:04Do you think they make spicy sauce?
- 54:06No pun intended. Probably probably making it
- 54:09right now with Buffalo Wild Wings.
- 54:11The piece of you know what I. I've given him ideas.
- 54:15Here's what I'm going to give as a Jet fan if I keep continuing.
- 54:19Watch Sauce Garner go out there week by week and not show up and
- 54:23not do the things that we're paying him for, then trade him.
- 54:26I don't care what anybody says. Oh, he's impossible to fill.
- 54:29He's not. He's he's, he's just as good as
- 54:32Patrick Surtain. Here's what Patrick Surtain
- 54:34does, except this past week. Patrick Satan shows up in the
- 54:38big game. When he needs to shut down
- 54:40teams, he shuts him down. Tell me the last time you
- 54:44remember Sauce Garner shutting down a wide wide receiver,
- 54:46Because last year he didn't shut down a wide receiver, and this
- 54:49year he hasn't shut down a wide receiver either.
- 54:52So he's making a lot of money for a guy that to me last year
- 54:56was an absolute bust. And you're talking about Garrett
- 54:59Wilson too, was another one that I think when you be able to game
- 55:02plan against these good teams, like like you said, Buffalo has
- 55:04some good corners, but they're nothing like special
- 55:06collectively. It's not like they had
- 55:07Tradavious White when he was at his peak and was one of the five
- 55:10best corners in football early in his career.
- 55:12Like they don't have that kind of guy.
- 55:14Benford's decent, Russell Douglas, probably a low end
- 55:16number one guy. But when teams game plan for
- 55:18Garrett Wilson and The Jets don't have a Plan B, it's very
- 55:20hard for them to do that. Like you said, they're not a
- 55:22team that's built to come from behind like this because they
- 55:24don't have the depth in their passing game.
- 55:26They have Breece Hall catching the next most passes and he only
- 55:28caught 2. Like it's not really an identity
- 55:30built for that. Obviously Fields got hurt, so
- 55:32we'll never know, but even with Fields?
- 55:33Healthy. They were never winning.
- 55:34They were not going to win that game.
- 55:35They were never winning that game.
- 55:37They weren't winning that game, but I wouldn't be worried about
- 55:40Sauce Gardner. I would be worried about Justin
- 55:42Fields because everything that I listen to and I haven't seen the
- 55:46All 22 film or anything like that just yet.
- 55:49I usually try to go see them on early on Wednesday, see what
- 55:52people said on Tuesday about it when he gets out.
- 55:54But everything I heard is Justin Fields missed many, many open
- 55:58guys on many, many plays in this game, which has been his MO his
- 56:03entire career. And when Tyrod Taylor got in, it
- 56:05was better. And I wouldn't be surprised that
- 56:08within a few weeks, Tyrod Taylor's a starting quarterback
- 56:11of The Jets because Justin Fields is just not an NFL
- 56:14player. And it's unfortunate because he
- 56:16is a super athlete and a super talent.
- 56:18But you get a good defensive coordinator who knows how to set
- 56:21the defensive line to prevent you from down blocking or can
- 56:25attack your defensive line in a way that it neutralizes your
- 56:28best player, like when Williams, and then forces your young guys
- 56:31to play the run instead of pass rush like they did because they
- 56:33didn't throw the ball. Josh Allen had like 21 passes
- 56:36the whole game. Killed my fantasy team this week
- 56:39and I have Josh Allen. He did nothing.
- 56:41Khalil Shakur did nothing. You'll see.
- 56:43And save your tears. I.
- 56:43Can't. Well, he didn't.
- 56:44He didn't really have to. Though they but that's the
- 56:46point, they why would you even bother doing that against the
- 56:50team that can't stop you when you just run the ball and that's
- 56:55and they control the possession and Justin Fields couldn't get a
- 56:58single drive going the entire game.
- 57:00That's a problem that you cannot come back from.
- 57:03He might not be long for the starting quarterback position,
- 57:06even though Tyrod Taylor isn't exactly going to set the world
- 57:09on fire if he's in there. That's what I worry about.
- 57:13I I think that might be the real thing right now with The Jets.
- 57:15That's the big problem. Sauce Gardner is going to be a
- 57:18little up and down, unless like they're in it, I guess he's I
- 57:20think. He's but how long of a how long
- 57:22of a leash are you going to give fields?
- 57:24I look if he play if if I if what I suspect.
- 57:27He played well in game one. I I mean he had a bad game.
- 57:30But again, how good is Pittsburgh?
- 57:31Pittsburgh's might not be good at all, you know, and that's the
- 57:35thing. And he had some revenge to get
- 57:37on Pittsburgh because he knows them better than most teams
- 57:39because he was there last year. So I I just worry that if we see
- 57:43this and he's going to miss next week, probably he comes back now
- 57:47he's out of rhythm on top of it. It's going to be a problem.
- 57:50They need to run the ball with him and if they can't figure out
- 57:53how to run the ball with him, they're not going to be able to
- 57:55set up the pass. And Buffalo didn't give him a
- 57:56shot at in hell at running the ball with him.
- 57:59They. You want, you want your star
- 58:02players to show up in the big parts of the game and they just
- 58:05don't. And I'm sorry, there's no excuse
- 58:08to that. And I'm not blaming Aaron Glenn
- 58:10for this because again, he's a rookie coach and he's still
- 58:12trying to get, he's trying to figure out his team and the
- 58:14strengths and the weaknesses of his team.
- 58:17But right now, what I've seen, there's nothing that really
- 58:21sticks out to me to say, Oh my God, this team is going to be
- 58:25great next year. This team is missing one or two
- 58:28pieces where they're going to be as competitive as Buffalo Bills.
- 58:32You had a chance to prove on CBS and and a chance to do it on
- 58:36your own turf and you laid up a lousy goose egg and and they had
- 58:40a chance when they needed a transition.
- 58:43All source needed to do was intercept that ball in the first
- 58:45quarter when they were down 10 to nothing.
- 58:47If he intercepts that ball, maybe he runs to the 50, they
- 58:50get a field goal and they cut it down to 2:50 and maybe it's a
- 58:54different game or maybe they score a touchdown.
- 58:57It was just how do you how do you go up for a ball and it just
- 59:00goes through your hands? It just it's, it's embarrassing.
- 59:03You're making that kind of money.
- 59:04You have to make the play. You have to make those plays,
- 59:08and he didn't. Yeah, I think also when you look
- 59:11at somebody like the market for Gardner too, like we've seen him
- 59:14like lose confidence in his own game at certain points and it
- 59:17just tails, tailspins after that.
- 59:20And they can't. The Jets players can't have them
- 59:22do that like it did last. Year Adam Schefner reports that
- 59:25Joe Burrow will be getting surgery on his toe in the next
- 59:31next week and he might be out at least three months.
- 59:34Burroughs suffered a turf toe injury during the second quarter
- 59:38of their match up against the Jaguars.
- 59:41Jake Browning took over for Burrough and had 241 passing
- 59:45yards, 2 touchdowns and three interceptions in the game, but
- 59:49was able to help the Bengals defeat the lonely Jaguars 31 to
- 59:5327. Browning ran the ball in front
- 59:57in from a yard out from 19 seconds remaining for the win.
- 1:00:02Zach Taylor says that the. Earliest Burrow could return is
- 1:00:06in the middle of December. This is Burroughs 6th injury
- 1:00:10since being drafted or by the Bengals in 2020 and he has
- 1:00:16missed 17 total games in that span.
- 1:00:20Jamar Chase had 14 catches for 165 yards and a touchdown in the
- 1:00:25win over Jacksonville Wall. T Higgins had three catches for
- 1:00:2956 yards and a touchdown. Burrow had 4918 yards last year,
- 1:00:3543 touchdowns, which led the NFL.
- 1:00:38Here's the thing, guys. Joe Burrow, if you look at his
- 1:00:42career, he's been in the league for how many years?
- 1:00:43Five years now, right? It's been five years.
- 1:00:46His first year, he goes down, he tears his ACL.
- 1:00:49The second year comes back, wins comeback player of the year.
- 1:00:53The next year, he goes down again.
- 1:00:55He hurts his finger and he comes back and he he wins comeback
- 1:00:59player of the year again, has one of the great seasons we've
- 1:01:02seen a quarterback have in the last 10 years.
- 1:01:05And now this year, another year where he goes down with turf toe
- 1:01:10and he could be out a significant amount of time,
- 1:01:12could be out even longer than what they are saying, even
- 1:01:14longer than Zach Taylor is saying.
- 1:01:16This is this is Zach Taylor is on the hot seat.
- 1:01:20Zach Taylor is in a position now that he needs to win.
- 1:01:23He needs to get this team in the playoffs to compete for a Super
- 1:01:26Bowl because Zach Taylor has not been in a Super Bowl now for
- 1:01:31almost three years. Three years with a team.
- 1:01:34We had Jamar Chase winning rookie offensive rookie of the
- 1:01:37year and Joe Burrow just absolutely being a world beater
- 1:01:42against the Kansas City Chiefs. Remember that in Kansas City,
- 1:01:47how many play? How many quarterbacks beat
- 1:01:49Patrick Mahomes in Kansas City? Joe Burrows, only one.
- 1:01:54I think Tom Brady was another. Nobody really beats Patrick
- 1:01:59Mahomes at home. And by the way, Jayla Hurts did
- 1:02:02it yesterday. But the fact is, Joe Burrow is
- 1:02:08everything to this team. Joe Burrow wanted T Higgins to
- 1:02:10be signed and he got his big contract.
- 1:02:13Jamar Chase wanted his big contract.
- 1:02:15Joe Burrow put his hand out and make sure that they got paid.
- 1:02:18And Trey Hendrickson, even though he got an extension, A1
- 1:02:21year extension, he did not get paid because he's a defensive
- 1:02:24player. And Joe Burrow wanted to make
- 1:02:26sure his guys were paid before the defensive players.
- 1:02:29And now Joe Burrow goes down, you're going to trust and Jake
- 1:02:33Browning, you're going to trust that Jake Browning is going to
- 1:02:36take this team to the promised land.
- 1:02:37What are you nuts? Let's be honest here.
- 1:02:41This isn't Jake Browning to me is a competent quarterback, but
- 1:02:45he's no better than Shador Sanders.
- 1:02:48I'm I'm just Speaking of maybe a little bit better.
- 1:02:50OK, maybe I'm not. I'm not going to put Browning
- 1:02:53down because I think Shador stinks, but he might be a little
- 1:02:56bit better than Shador Sanders. He is not a competent backup
- 1:03:00quarterback. He's just not.
- 1:03:01He threw 3 interceptions in a game.
- 1:03:03He also has Jamar Chase and D Higgins, and remember last week
- 1:03:08those guys didn't show up in the game.
- 1:03:09Neither did Joe Burrow against a defense that absolutely dominate
- 1:03:13and they still won the game last week against the lonely Browns.
- 1:03:17The fact is here, without Joe Burrow, is this team a playoff
- 1:03:22team. And the answer would be no,
- 1:03:24they're not They're not. This defense is not good, and if
- 1:03:29you're going to trust that Browning is going to outlast and
- 1:03:32take this team all the way into December to be a playoff team
- 1:03:36when you have Pittsburgh in the same division, you have
- 1:03:38Baltimore. Browns suck, but you have
- 1:03:41Pittsburgh and Baltimore fighting and it's a divisional
- 1:03:44game is not easy. As we all know.
- 1:03:46It wasn't easy for you guys to beat the Browns.
- 1:03:48You beat them by one. That to me is a problem and
- 1:03:52that's why I brought up Russell Wilson.
- 1:03:54Maybe Cousins, you're going to have to look for a competent
- 1:04:01quarterback if you if you're Zach Taylor.
- 1:04:04Right now, I'm worried. I'm worried I can't sit here and
- 1:04:08believe that if my team chokes and doesn't make the playoffs,
- 1:04:11that ownership is going to keep me there, that the GM is going
- 1:04:13to keep me there. This is another season where my
- 1:04:16team doesn't make the playoffs. That's a problem, Gable.
- 1:04:23We've said it, Dable's on a hot seat.
- 1:04:24Zach Taylor's on a hot seat. A lot of these well known
- 1:04:27coaches are on the hot seat. Why?
- 1:04:30Because they haven't produced. And when your start quarterback,
- 1:04:33your best player is at a significant amount of time and
- 1:04:36every other year he can't stay healthy.
- 1:04:38That ladies and gentlemen tells me is an injury prone
- 1:04:41quarterback. And we've seen this before.
- 1:04:44This isn't the first time we've seen a quarterback, a successful
- 1:04:46quarterback in the NFL, go down every other year.
- 1:04:51There are quarterbacks that have done it good, ones that could
- 1:04:53never be healthy enough to be a Hall of Fame quarterback.
- 1:04:57Now, I'm not saying Joe Burrow is in a Hall of Fame
- 1:04:59quarterback. He still could be.
- 1:05:01He still has a lot, a lot of time to go and he has a lot more
- 1:05:05to prove himself to be a Hall of Fame quarterback.
- 1:05:09But guess what? If 33 you're playing five years
- 1:05:14in the NFL and two out of the three years you have not been
- 1:05:17healthy or three out of the five years you haven't been healthy,
- 1:05:21that's a problem guys. And this is not a good sign for
- 1:05:24the the Bengals, a team that I thought had a chance to win the
- 1:05:28division because Baltimore, I don't know what what Baltimore
- 1:05:31we're going to see this year. They they have weapons.
- 1:05:34We all know what Lamar Jackson could do.
- 1:05:36We all know that they have some weapons in Henry and Zay
- 1:05:39Flowers. But and the defense is really,
- 1:05:41really good. But is the defense as good as
- 1:05:43they were last year? I don't know, but I do know is
- 1:05:48that the Bengals, even with the Hendrickson situation,
- 1:05:52Hendrickson is on a team, the defense actually is still
- 1:05:55playing well and they're not. If they can't produce, they
- 1:05:59can't put up a 30 spot week in and week out when you're going
- 1:06:02to be playing good defenses and and good offenses that are going
- 1:06:06to be able to compete with you, how are you going to win those
- 1:06:08close games? And I'm going to tell you this
- 1:06:10right now, this could be the biggest downer for a coach to
- 1:06:15deal with at the end of the season because I'm going to tell
- 1:06:18you this right now, Taylor is, I wouldn't say he's a good coach,
- 1:06:21but he's not a bad coach. This could be his downfall.
- 1:06:24When we go back and we we look at Taylor's, you know, time over
- 1:06:28there with Joe Burrow, we're going to say, well, three out of
- 1:06:31the five years Joe Burrow wasn't healthy.
- 1:06:33Are we going to blame it on Zach Taylor?
- 1:06:34We're going to blame it on the injury prone Joe Burrow.
- 1:06:37And that, ladies and gentlemen, is going to be the problem.
- 1:06:39I think they absolutely have to go up in the trade market.
- 1:06:43Look at Kirk Cousins, look at Russell Wilson, look at a
- 1:06:47veteran quarterback to bring in. You cannot trust that Jake
- 1:06:50Browning is going to take you to the promised land.
- 1:06:51No, and you look at even the end of the year when Burrow got hurt
- 1:06:54two years ago, Jake Browning was good enough to win certain
- 1:06:57games, but it wasn't like he was lighting the world on fire.
- 1:07:00It wasn't like he was like you were saying T Higgins numbers
- 1:07:03dropped off pretty badly. I think besides that Vikings
- 1:07:05game where they he had that insane catch, like his numbers
- 1:07:08dropped off badly. Chase's numbers were kind of
- 1:07:10fluctuating towards the end of the year in 2023.
- 1:07:12Now they still almost made the playoffs, which I think is maybe
- 1:07:14why Zach Taylor, I guess has enough confidence in Browning at
- 1:07:17the time being. But right now they're two and O
- 1:07:19fine. But like you said, they haven't
- 1:07:21played well against two teams that aren't great.
- 1:07:22The Browns are terrible and the Jaguars are very average.
- 1:07:25Like you squeaked by those two games.
- 1:07:27You still have a lot of tough schedule coming up.
- 1:07:29You have to play other AFC East teams.
- 1:07:30You're going to have to play your own division and you're
- 1:07:32going to play the NFC North. That's a really big gauntlet for
- 1:07:35them. I had them in the playoffs at
- 1:07:37the start of the year as a wild card team.
- 1:07:38But if they're not going to get any level of competent offense,
- 1:07:42it's going to be very hard for that defense.
- 1:07:43It was terrible last year to make adjustments.
- 1:07:46And you mentioned who's to blame for all these injuries with Joe
- 1:07:48Burrow, obviously, I think the one his first year, it was in
- 1:07:50Washington, which is what we know is a really bad field.
- 1:07:52I think the 1-2 years ago was was on Zach Taylor.
- 1:07:55They're having him sneak the ball more often, hold the ball
- 1:07:58more often. And his red zone play calling is
- 1:08:00very questionable, which has gotten him into a lot of
- 1:08:02trouble. And the analogy, I think, I
- 1:08:05guess our host of our show, Trey Larkins a while back with Wise
- 1:08:09Guys was making. They don't have a running game.
- 1:08:11Speedy Chase Brown. I'm not trusting Chase Brown as
- 1:08:13my number one guy. And I've said that.
- 1:08:15Everybody said he was a top 20 in every fantasy draft.
- 1:08:19Chase Brown is not a number one guy.
- 1:08:21He's a number two guy. They don't have a running game.
- 1:08:23Now, if you had a Derrick Henry or you had a Saquon Barkley, you
- 1:08:26can probably go without a quarterback, a star quarterback
- 1:08:30for at least till December. You don't have that and now you
- 1:08:33have nobody that can get them the ball.
- 1:08:35And it may be Brownie could get, you know, guys like Jamar Chase
- 1:08:39and and maybe Higgins the ball, but you're also going to throw
- 1:08:42interceptions. So he threw 2 intercept.
- 1:08:45He threw 2 touchdowns to three interceptions.
- 1:08:47That's not going to get it done. Now and you also look at like
- 1:08:50trying to have it balanced it out so Burrow doesn't have to
- 1:08:52take as many hits either. And Chase Brown obviously had
- 1:08:54the big year last year and was a top 10 running back performance
- 1:08:57wise. But as a pure runner, he has
- 1:08:59some limitations because he's undersized and the offensive
- 1:09:01line is obviously had issues. But like I said, I think it's
- 1:09:03also more Zach Taylor putting Joe Burrow in harm's way.
- 1:09:07And that's the analogy I was trying to make before.
- 1:09:08Like is Joe Burrow another Andrew Luck type?
- 1:09:10Are they are they going to ruin him like Andrew Luck's ruining
- 1:09:13with the Colts? And I think a lot of that has to
- 1:09:14do with coaching. And that's why I think Zach
- 1:09:16Taylor is definitely, I think even if they make the playoffs
- 1:09:19and. No, I think if they make the
- 1:09:20playoffs, Joe Burrow has all the say in who's the coach and him
- 1:09:25and Zach are like brothers and, and we've heard a guy like Joe
- 1:09:30Burrow come out and say that Zach's done a good job.
- 1:09:32The only reason why we haven't been consistent is because of my
- 1:09:35injury, injuries and the the injury prone player that I've
- 1:09:38become over the last couple of years.
- 1:09:39And he left. If you watched the Netflix
- 1:09:42quarterback, what what is that documentary, documentary.
- 1:09:46Whatever the QB 1, whatever QB 2, whatever the hell they called
- 1:09:49it. He came out and said this isn't
- 1:09:51Zach Taylor's fault on why we haven't been consistent enough
- 1:09:54in the playoffs and making the playoffs.
- 1:09:56It's because of my injuries. So I, I, I, I disagree with you.
- 1:10:00If Zach Taylor gets in the playoffs, he still has a job.
- 1:10:03Yeah, again. More of the quality of play too.
- 1:10:05Like I think them squeaking in at 9 and 8 is not really
- 1:10:07anything like to the right home on either.
- 1:10:09And like you said, this is a team that beaten the Chiefs in
- 1:10:11the playoffs, taking a big leap when it comes to like being a
- 1:10:15contender and then all of a sudden you're going to fall back
- 1:10:17to mediocrity. I don't really trust it.
- 1:10:21Yeah, no, I I've always like for me, I've obviously followed Zach
- 1:10:25because we're all together and you know Ruth for him and
- 1:10:27obviously Burroughs family from Nebraska.
- 1:10:30But I I think you're right a little bit.
- 1:10:32He he he does get bailed out there.
- 1:10:35Appreciate that because I was on the same wavelength.
- 1:10:38But what's tough too is when when guys become labeled injury
- 1:10:42prone, it just sucks because sometimes it's it's a bad deal.
- 1:10:46Like, you know, you don't draw it up like this.
- 1:10:48I mean, you know, sometimes too, the last few years been here to
- 1:10:52ran into a fence, another toe, another toe job.
- 1:10:55Yeah, but that one. So yeah, when you get labeled,
- 1:11:00when you get labeled that it it sucks, but I think they they
- 1:11:03have getting bail and I think you got a guy like Joe who
- 1:11:07definitely does what they can do as far as like who's there and
- 1:11:11who isn't. But yeah, Zach's butts burning a
- 1:11:14little bit and he knows that too.
- 1:11:16I mean, he, he understands that he, he doesn't, you know, look
- 1:11:20beyond what it is and knows he needs to get back to where they
- 1:11:24can. And, you know, I think this
- 1:11:27doesn't help. In which direction do they go is
- 1:11:31going to be the question that maybe either bails them out or
- 1:11:34puts them underwater. Browning.
- 1:11:37Browning is played a lot because Burrows been out a lot over the
- 1:11:41years, so it's not like you have an inexperienced guy.
- 1:11:44So he's obviously not Joe Burrow, though it's a problem
- 1:11:48for that team. A Washington product.
- 1:11:51Well, whatever product he is, he certainly isn't Joe Burrow, who
- 1:11:56was arguably, you know, you could say, I mean, Errol, you
- 1:11:59said it, he might have been the best quarterback in the league
- 1:12:01last year. He had to do the most, didn't
- 1:12:03he? He had to do the most work
- 1:12:05because the defense was atrocious.
- 1:12:07So he had the most put on his shoulders and he came through.
- 1:12:11So you, I mean, a lot of people would say he could be an
- 1:12:13offensive player of the year type the way he plays every
- 1:12:16year, but they can't keep him healthy every year that he's
- 1:12:20played in the league. You're not going to believe
- 1:12:21this, Errol, They've never ranked above 28th, 28th in
- 1:12:27offensive line every year. Last year they were the worst in
- 1:12:31a league. This year that I think they're
- 1:12:33like 20. Well, they say.
- 1:12:35They say that Joe Burrow has the fastest release right now in the
- 1:12:38NFL. He absolutely has to because
- 1:12:41they can't block for him at all. And what are you thinking?
- 1:12:44Like to me and like the Giants make these mistakes all the
- 1:12:48time, but the but the Bengals mistake paying T Higgins, who
- 1:12:51look good receiver. No one's saying he's not a good
- 1:12:54player, right? But if you pay that guy like
- 1:12:57he's a #1 receiver when you already have a #1 receiver, then
- 1:13:01how that that means you don't get to pay a left tackle, That
- 1:13:05means you don't get to pay maybe a center and a guard.
- 1:13:09You could have a line that could protect this guy as opposed to
- 1:13:14he's being pulled down at weird angles all the time, having to
- 1:13:18get rid of the ball as fast as he can, having to not be able to
- 1:13:21use, you know, Chase as well as he probably could be used if he
- 1:13:24had more time to let routes develop.
- 1:13:26Just imagine Chase is this good and they don't have time to let
- 1:13:30the routes develop. That was always the criticism
- 1:13:32with Daniel Jones in New York that, you know, the routes don't
- 1:13:34develop so he doesn't have time to throw it.
- 1:13:36He was probably right. That line was terrible.
- 1:13:39Joe Burrow was still able to make things happen even with
- 1:13:41that line, but he's always getting hurt because of that.
- 1:13:44It's like the GM is the biggest idiot in this whole situation.
- 1:13:49Stop spending on the shiny pieces and protect the most
- 1:13:53important piece and they never do it.
- 1:13:55It's crazy. It's crazy, man.
- 1:13:58Well, again, Joe Burrow has an opportunity to get back before
- 1:14:02the seasons end. They have to bring in a
- 1:14:05quarterback. They have to go after a veteran
- 1:14:07guy. I don't care what you have to
- 1:14:09give up for Kirk Cousins. If you think you're a playoff
- 1:14:11team and you're going to be able to compete for a championship,
- 1:14:13well, then you give up a third or a fourth round draft pick for
- 1:14:16Kirk Cousins. You have to do whatever it takes
- 1:14:18to make sure that you'll be ready when Joe Burrow comes
- 1:14:21back, that you can sneak into the playoffs or even win your
- 1:14:24division. Because as good as Lamar Jackson
- 1:14:27is in the Baltimore Ravens are, the Bengals still have the
- 1:14:29weapons to be able to compete with those Baltimore Raven
- 1:14:33teams. They just have to have a guy
- 1:14:35that can get on the ball. And if they have the guy and
- 1:14:37they need a running game too, they need to figure out where
- 1:14:40they go in free agency or, or I'm not in free agency.
- 1:14:43Maybe somebody has dropped, maybe released or bring in a
- 1:14:46veteran guy that hasn't hasn't stepped on a football field yet
- 1:14:49this year or was on a preseason roster and was waved.
- 1:14:54They have to bring somebody else.
- 1:14:55Chase Brown is not the answer. He's just not.
