- 0:05Hi, I'm Jay felon and you are listening to the slippery slope.
- 0:09So this morning while I'm watching the news, I heard
- 0:12broadcast on the ABC here in Australia that New York was
- 0:16declaring this emergency because of monkey pox.
- 0:20Now there are a few interesting things which I heard on the news
- 0:23one. I actually heard the doctor here
- 0:27in in Australia. Refer to monkeypox as a sexually
- 0:32transmitted disease. This is the first time.
- 0:35I've actually heard someone say that this is predominantly a
- 0:38sexually-transmitted. He actually used the phrase
- 0:41sexually transmitted disease, very interesting because they've
- 0:45always wanted to keep keep the focus off the fact that monkey
- 0:51pox is mainly spreading within the lgbtq community, especially
- 0:56what's the new phrase, they use men who have sex with other men.
- 1:00Because that some are different between the guy in the bisexual
- 1:03people. Apparently.
- 1:04So we have this area. Okay.
- 1:07And they've tried to keep the focus off that but now they're
- 1:10actually saying sexually transmitted disease.
- 1:13So this headline which comes out from CBS New York.
- 1:17It says New York City. Joined state in declaring Public
- 1:21Health Emergency to address spread of monkey pox pox monkey
- 1:26pox outbreak. So the Centers for Disease
- 1:29Control and prevention. Tension has confirmed that there
- 1:31are more than 5,000 cases of monkeypox across the us
- 1:36including about 1/4 in New York. So as reported on Monday leaders
- 1:41across the tri-state area scrambling to secure more
- 1:45vaccines while also reassuring people that the situation is
- 1:49under control. So with 1,300 confirmed cases of
- 1:53monkeypox in New York City and an estimated 150,000, New York
- 2:00is exposed. So the mayor Eric Adams of
- 2:03Monday, declared a state of emergency over the virus.
- 2:08Now, listen, listen to this next section, very carefully by
- 2:13declaring a state of emergency over the virus.
- 2:16This allows me Eric Adams to suspend local laws and enact
- 2:23rules as necessary to protect the well-being and health of All
- 2:29City. Residents.
- 2:31That's right to protect for your health.
- 2:35For your well-being, I'm going to enact these rules.
- 2:39I'm going to suspend local laws, we're going to have curfews, you
- 2:42have to be in bed. You have to be at home by 8:00,
- 2:44tucked up in bed, by 10:00. It's for your health.
- 2:47For your well-being. I'm doing this for your, for
- 2:50your good, for the greater, good of the people.
- 2:52I am going to enact these rules on your life, but it's for the
- 2:57greater good. It's for your good.
- 3:00Haven't we heard that before? I'll be in saying that this is
- 3:03where things are going to go further.
- 3:04Along in this article, it says, Westchester County, vaccines are
- 3:09available by appointment, only on Mondays and when that
- 3:12Wednesdays at the White Plains clinic.
- 3:16So monkey pox is front and center, said, County Executive
- 3:19George Latimer. Monkeypox has grown in its
- 3:23presence. In Westchester County.
- 3:26We now have 40 confirmed cases. Also, Judy trillo has said the
- 3:34count is providing Monday and Wednesday while we're providing
- 3:37Thursday. So wherever you can get the
- 3:40vaccine, get the vaccine said, Judy, who is from the group, The
- 3:45Loft which is an LGBT Center in White Plains.
- 3:50So vaccine, clinics have opened Monday in Connecticut with 33
- 3:55cases of the virus, have been confirmed when asked, if
- 3:59officials are doing Not to protect the population against
- 4:02monkey pox and make sure that everyone who needs to get.
- 4:05Vaccinated can David kill Nick president of the LGBT Network
- 4:12said the government is not doing enough right now and we need
- 4:15more vaccines immediately, isn't it?
- 4:18Strange everyone again wanting to get vaccinated so Advocates
- 4:23say it's not just making the shots available but being
- 4:27intentional about where they're available.
- 4:31We want the vaccines at the LGBT Center, kill Nick said right
- 4:36now, they're only offered at the mall and some hospitals.
- 4:40But with the stigma that exists around LGBT people in general,
- 4:46but around healthcare for us. People were saying, I don't want
- 4:51to go to the mall. I don't want to go next to
- 4:55Macy's to get my monkey Buckshot.
- 4:58When someone's going to look. You funny.
- 5:02Well, isn't that strange? So now like I said, now people
- 5:07are finally, the doctors are finally starting to use the
- 5:10phrase sexually transmitted disease.
- 5:14I've said it a few times. Now if you look at where this
- 5:18monkey pox is mainly stemmed from its come from these
- 5:22parties, actually I'll just say it straight, it's come from, it
- 5:25seems to have originated from some large orgies that have.
- 5:30Occurred after after our pride, parades one, the main one I
- 5:36believe was mainly in Spain, after a LGBT Pride Parade, there
- 5:43was some partying, their workers.
- 5:45There were stories of orgies for very large.
- 5:48Aw geez, what do you know people who attended these orgies ended
- 5:52up with monkey pox? It is a sexually transmitted
- 5:55disease. Just saying I'll continue on
- 5:58with a few other articles, okay. Also from from America this in
- 6:03CNBC, it says that California declares a state of emergency
- 6:08over monkey pox outbreak following New York and Illinois.
- 6:13So the the key points from here, it says that California's
- 6:17declaration comes after Illinois, declared a public
- 6:20health emergency earlier Monday, New York, declared a state
- 6:23disaster, emergency in response to the outbreak last Friday, the
- 6:27US has reported nearly 6,000 cases of monkeypox across 48
- 6:32states, Washington, DC, and Puerto Rico, according to the
- 6:37CDC, California, Illinois, and New York home to the nation's
- 6:43three largest cities have reported 47% of all confirmed
- 6:48monkeypox infections in the u.s. so California.
- 6:52Governor Gavin nuisance, I'm sorry.
- 6:55Newsom, he's declared a state of emergency over the rapidly
- 6:59spreading. Keep pox Outbreak on Monday, the
- 7:023rd US state to do so. In a matter of days, Newsome
- 7:07said, the emergency declaration would, it'll help support the
- 7:10state's vaccination efforts demand for the vaccines has
- 7:15outstripped Supply as infections, rise staff at sexual
- 7:20health clinics and other sites have struggled to keep up with
- 7:24the influx of people seeking the shots California is mobilizing
- 7:29personnel. L from its Emergency Medical
- 7:31Services to help administer. The vaccines Newsome said the
- 7:35state is working across all levels of government to slow the
- 7:39spread through testing can contract tracing and community
- 7:44outreach. Some monkey pox is rarely fatal
- 7:47and no deaths have been reported in the u.s. so far but some
- 7:52patients suffer excruciating pain from the rash caused by the
- 7:57virus scientists and public health officials are Worried
- 8:00monkeypox could circulate permanently in the u.s. if the
- 8:04outbreak isn't contained. So the World Health Organization
- 8:08declared monkeypox of global Health Emergency last month or
- 8:14the 19,000. Monkeypox cases have been
- 8:16reported in at least 78 countries.
- 8:19According to the World Health Organization data, the outbreak
- 8:25is unusual because the virus is spreading widely in North
- 8:29America and Europe. Europe, it's not that unusual.
- 8:32If you look at the activity of these people, anyway, in the
- 8:36past, monkeypox spread at low levels in West and central
- 8:40Africa where rodents and other animals carry the virus.
- 8:45Monkey pox is primarily transmitting through
- 8:49skin-to-skin contact during sex, gay and bisexual men are the
- 8:55highest risk of infection right now public health officials.
- 9:00I bet ninety-eight percent of patients Who provided
- 9:03demographic information due to clinics identified as men who
- 9:08have sex with men according to the CDC.
- 9:12But Health officials have repeatedly emphasized.
- 9:16Here it comes. Is the the downplay that anyone
- 9:20that anyone can catch monkeypox through physical contact with
- 9:24someone who has the rash that characterizes the disease or
- 9:28contaminated. Tools such as towels and bed
- 9:31sheets, see because because they've announced because
- 9:35they've declared this this emergency and it gives and it
- 9:39gives them the power to suspend local laws and enact rules and
- 9:44to make declarations all for the health and the well-being, your
- 9:47health, your well-being. They really want to emphasize it
- 9:51that you can get it through other physical contact, and
- 9:54maybe you can get through other ways, and you're also
- 9:57susceptible to getting monkeypox.
- 9:59So, Maybe we should all get vaccinated.
- 10:03That's where I think it's going. These everyone's going to be
- 10:05forced to get vaccinated for the flipping monkey pox, so
- 10:10monkeypox can also spread through respiratory droplets
- 10:14when an infected person has lesions in their mouth, okay?
- 10:20But this requires prolonged face-to-face.
- 10:22Interaction. According to the CDC physical
- 10:26contact is the primary mode of transmission Health officials.
- 10:29Let's say, so you'd literally have to have cuts inside your
- 10:33mouth. Are you have to have prolonged
- 10:35face-to-face interaction and then respira Tory droplets,
- 10:38would have to go from that person's mouth to that person
- 10:43into your mouth and into the cuts inside your mouth, you got
- 10:46to wonder what's going on there that you, if you're going to get
- 10:49it, listen, we're heading the same route as what we did with
- 10:53covid-19. Clearing state of emergency
- 10:57giving giving governments, the ability to spend local laws and
- 11:02that crew rules, and, and behave in the best interest of the
- 11:07public in your best interest, they're suspending local laws
- 11:11and enacting rules to protect you to protect the health and
- 11:15the well-being of the ordinary citizen.
- 11:17That's why they're going to bring in vaccination for monkey
- 11:21pox, that's why they will start using.
- 11:25More Draconian measures on surveillance.
- 11:28We need to do it, we need to be tracking wherever you are, so we
- 11:31can track down the epicenter for monkey pox.
- 11:35So we can hold back the tide of monkey pox.
- 11:38This is where I believe the narrative will go greater
- 11:43control more rules and greater surveillance efforts on behalf
- 11:47of the government. That's my prediction.
- 11:50That's my opinion. Thank you for listening to the
- 11:52slippery slope.
