- 0:08Speaker 1: Hello everyone, and welcome into another episode of to check
- 0:11Speaker 1: O Daily. It's Andrew de Checko, Eagles beat reporter Friendsidethebirds
- 0:15Speaker 1: dot Com. And today was day five of Eagles training camp.
- 0:19Speaker 1: That's Tuesday, depending on when you're listening to this, And
- 0:24Speaker 1: it was the first day in which the Eagles hit.
- 0:27Speaker 1: They had pads on for the second consecutive day. It
- 0:30Speaker 1: was classified as a grain practice and it went about
- 0:33Speaker 1: an hour and fifty minutes and there were a ton
- 0:36Speaker 1: of takeaways and a lot of context that's required here
- 0:40Speaker 1: when you assess this practice. Talking after practice were safety
- 0:45Speaker 1: Michael Carter, quarterback Andy Dalton, quarterback Tanner McKee, outside linebackers
- 0:50Speaker 1: Arnold at Bacadie and aj At Banessa, and tight end
- 0:54Speaker 1: Johnny Munt. You just get the feel as you walk
- 0:58Speaker 1: in that the intent city is amplified a little bit.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Sitting there waiting for special teams coordinator Michael Clay, who
- 1:06Speaker 1: spoke at nine point forty as you're looking over to
- 1:09Speaker 1: a far field and you see the specialists warming up.
- 1:12Speaker 1: They have tears for fears. Everybody wants to rule the world.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Blaring a little bit out of left field, but I'll
- 1:18Speaker 1: take it. And then when Michael Clay comes up to
- 1:20Speaker 1: the podium. They're playing Shout in the background for Tears
- 1:24Speaker 1: for Fears, but you could just feel the energy and
- 1:29Speaker 1: the Jefferson Health Training Complex, you know, when you're walking
- 1:33Speaker 1: around the fields before practice and kind of getting taking
- 1:37Speaker 1: stock of everything that's going on. And it's arguably one
- 1:42Speaker 1: of the more anticipated practices of the summer. I look
- 1:46Speaker 1: at joint practices as well, but when you put the
- 1:48Speaker 1: pads on and you're hitting, that takes things up a
- 1:52Speaker 1: notch a little bit. But let's get to it. Because
- 1:56Speaker 1: the Eagles ended up doing a special teams drill to
- 2:00Speaker 1: start practice after stretches, and just some notes here of
- 2:05Speaker 1: some of the players who I noticed that were on
- 2:06Speaker 1: the first team kickoff. And again, a lot can change,
- 2:10Speaker 1: it's determined on you know, where they fit into the roster.
- 2:14Speaker 1: But right now, some players like Keeley Ringo and Cameron Lottu,
- 2:19Speaker 1: Smilemonden Junior, j T. Gray A, three time All Pro,
- 2:24Speaker 1: Chance Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter, junior, Will Shipley aj Epenessa. Those
- 2:29Speaker 1: are some of the players who I noticed that were
- 2:31Speaker 1: on that first team kickoff. And of that group, there's
- 2:35Speaker 1: a number of them that you could certainly see sticking
- 2:38Speaker 1: on the fifty three, not all of them, but that
- 2:42Speaker 1: is likely going to be a lot of the nucleus
- 2:45Speaker 1: of that kick coverage unit this season. We got to
- 2:48Speaker 1: see some one on ones early in the practice, and
- 2:51Speaker 1: that's something that I always love wide receiver defensive backs.
- 2:54Speaker 1: There's also the offensive line and defensive line, but they
- 2:58Speaker 1: were doing in sets of two on a far field,
- 3:01Speaker 1: so I didn't necessarily want to go over there and
- 3:03Speaker 1: see that. I like watching the monoemano ones that you're
- 3:06Speaker 1: able to get a better assessment, a better read on things.
- 3:09Speaker 1: So I stayed on the far field and I watched
- 3:11Speaker 1: some of the wide receiver defensive backs one on ones.
- 3:14Speaker 1: The first one was Hollywood Brown versus Reek Wohen. Hollywood
- 3:19Speaker 1: Brown won on a crossing route from Jalen Hurts. And
- 3:23Speaker 1: also bear in mind that one on ones are typically
- 3:27Speaker 1: geared towards the offense. The receivers know where they're going,
- 3:31Speaker 1: the quarterbacks know where they're going, and there's no help
- 3:35Speaker 1: like it's just one on one and so again we
- 3:39Speaker 1: talk about context that's going to be needed here as well.
- 3:42Speaker 1: But another one Elijah Moore, and he thrived in this drill.
- 3:46Speaker 1: He went against Cooper dejen. He won the first one
- 3:48Speaker 1: on a go ball from Jalen Hurts. He extended to
- 3:51Speaker 1: make the reception there. Danny Gray versus Kiele Ringo. Kieley
- 3:55Speaker 1: Ringo was flagged. Danny was running a stop route and
- 3:59Speaker 1: the it and come close. He was interfered with, so
- 4:02Speaker 1: there was a flag there. Britain Covey verse cornerback Mac McWilliams.
- 4:06Speaker 1: Britain Covey beats the you know, some physical coverage. Mac
- 4:10Speaker 1: looked like he got some hands on him and he
- 4:13Speaker 1: won on a route there. Britain is just so shifty
- 4:17Speaker 1: and quick that he was able to maneuver around that.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Pretty good size matchups, it's a fair fight if you will.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Qus Watkins versus Ambry Thomas. This was Tanner McKeith throwing
- 4:32Speaker 1: quez one on a comeback. He extended to grab it.
- 4:36Speaker 1: Elijah Moore and Cooper Dejeen. This is Jalen Hurts throwing
- 4:40Speaker 1: it and he wins on an inside move. So Elijah
- 4:46Speaker 1: Moore won on an inside move. Elijah Moore has had
- 4:49Speaker 1: a really nice camp. Again, I don't necessarily know what
- 4:52Speaker 1: that all is going to mean in terms of the
- 4:53Speaker 1: overall roster outlook. I'm not sure how you can find
- 4:57Speaker 1: a roster spot for him, but if he's one of
- 5:00Speaker 1: the best receivers, and he is, He's been one of
- 5:02Speaker 1: the best five receivers in training camp along with Darius Cooper,
- 5:07Speaker 1: Don Tavian Wicks, Donte DeVante Smith in Hollywood Brown. I mean,
- 5:14Speaker 1: those are have been the Eagles' most consistent receivers. You
- 5:19Speaker 1: would think that you got to try to find a
- 5:20Speaker 1: spot for him. Special teams is going to be hugely
- 5:23Speaker 1: critical in this aspect, but he catches pretty much everything.
- 5:28Speaker 1: He seems to have established a pretty good rapport with
- 5:31Speaker 1: Jaywen Hurts, and as you'll learn later on in the day,
- 5:33Speaker 1: there weren't a lot of players out there that he
- 5:35Speaker 1: had a lot of time on task with. But let's
- 5:38Speaker 1: move on to some of the other reps there and
- 5:42Speaker 1: one on ones, Tanner McKee he connects with Hollywood Brown,
- 5:47Speaker 1: who won against Rake one and again. Then it's the
- 5:50Speaker 1: Britain Covey mac McWilliams matchup. Britain wins that one again.
- 5:56Speaker 1: On a nice move there, Tanner McKee goes to Danny Gray,
- 6:01Speaker 1: who was being defended again by Keeley Ringo. The pass
- 6:04Speaker 1: was incomplete. Here was a good one. Uh Quinyon Mitchell
- 6:08Speaker 1: verse Don Tavian Wicks Jaywhen Hurts was up and throwing.
- 6:11Speaker 1: In this particular rep Quinya Mitchell pretty much ran the
- 6:16Speaker 1: route for Don Tavian Wicks. He charges in and he
- 6:19Speaker 1: nearly comes up with an interception. Eric Azukanma he's one
- 6:24Speaker 1: of the more down the depth chart type of receivers.
- 6:26Speaker 1: He had an impressive high stab off of Jaywen Hurts reception.
- 6:29Speaker 1: Sean Wade was in coverage, looked like it might have
- 6:32Speaker 1: been a stop route. And then you have Quez Watkins
- 6:35Speaker 1: versus Ambrey Thomas with Tanner McKeith throwing. Ambry Thomas did
- 6:40Speaker 1: a nice job to squeeze Quas Watkins along the sideline
- 6:43Speaker 1: there and force an incompletion. There wasn't a lot of
- 6:46Speaker 1: room there for him to maneuver. Just some. I just
- 6:49Speaker 1: did a synopsis there of some. There were others going
- 6:52Speaker 1: on on another field where they had Cole Payton and
- 6:56Speaker 1: Andy Dalton that was on the other half of the
- 6:58Speaker 1: of the field that I was on. But then let's
- 7:01Speaker 1: get to the team the team drills. To set the
- 7:05Speaker 1: scene for you, they had the game's one blood playing.
- 7:10Speaker 1: You can see Rieke Wohen and Jay Lukshan wapping each
- 7:14Speaker 1: other up. But as they're lining up and they're getting
- 7:17Speaker 1: ready to uh to take on the first rep of
- 7:19Speaker 1: eleven on eleven's and then the first team offensive line,
- 7:23Speaker 1: Jordan Mylotta at left tackle, Landon Dickerson at left guard,
- 7:27Speaker 1: at center was Cam Jurgens, right guard Tyler Stein, and
- 7:30Speaker 1: at right tackle in place of Lane Johnson who was
- 7:36Speaker 1: excused was Mark hel Bell, the Eagles rookie. And this
- 7:40Speaker 1: probably feels like a good point for me to underscore
- 7:45Speaker 1: or to highlight. I should say the Eagles who didn't
- 7:48Speaker 1: practice today because there were many and it'll it'll add
- 7:53Speaker 1: some context to the practice as I sort of go
- 7:56Speaker 1: through it. But not practicing for the Eagles, wide receiver
- 7:58Speaker 1: Makai Lemon ham string, outside linebacker Keyshawn James Newby ankle,
- 8:04Speaker 1: right tackle Lane Johnson excuse not injury related. Guard Michael
- 8:07Speaker 1: Morris shoulder guard landing Jaden Roberts calf contusion, Wide receiver
- 8:12Speaker 1: Devonte Smith hamstring, safety Cole was Nesky hamstring, Hey.
- 8:16Speaker 2: Philly fans, game day is stressful enough, parking, traffic, long lines,
- 8:21Speaker 2: We've all been there, But when it comes to your cannabis,
- 8:24Speaker 2: Camden Apothecary makes it easy. This is the dispensary for
- 8:29Speaker 2: sports fans, just minutes outside of Philly, with plenty of
- 8:33Speaker 2: free parking. You'll be in and out fast, no hassle,
- 8:36Speaker 2: no waiting, and they don't just care about convenience. Camden
- 8:39Speaker 2: Apothecary is all about the guest experience. Their staff makes
- 8:43Speaker 2: sure you feel taken care of every time you walk in. Plus,
- 8:48Speaker 2: they carry only the best quality cannabis at the fairest prices,
- 8:52Speaker 2: so whether you're stocking up for the tailgate, the watch party,
- 8:56Speaker 2: or celebrating a big win, you know you're getting the
- 8:59Speaker 2: good stuff without overpaying. They even show love to the
- 9:02Speaker 2: community with specials for fans, students, service members, and healthcare pros.
- 9:08Speaker 2: Canned in Apothecary. Top quality cannabis, great prices, and an
- 9:12Speaker 2: experience made for Philly fans twenty one and up.
- 9:17Speaker 1: With regard to Lemon and Smith, who both have hamstrings,
- 9:21Speaker 1: neither injury is expected to be a long term issue,
- 9:24Speaker 1: which is important to note. But anytime you're taking the
- 9:27Speaker 1: top two receivers or the two of the top three
- 9:31Speaker 1: receivers for this offense and you don't have Lane Johnson,
- 9:35Speaker 1: it's gonna be sloppy, you're gonna have trouble moving the football,
- 9:38Speaker 1: and that was certainly the case today. There was a
- 9:40Speaker 1: ton of flags, just a really disjointed, sloppy practice overall. Again,
- 9:46Speaker 1: I wanted to provide the reasons for that, and I
- 9:48Speaker 1: think you have to grade on a curve when you're
- 9:52Speaker 1: taking this offense into any consideration here, especially after they're
- 9:56Speaker 1: coming off a day yesterday or on Monday, where I
- 9:59Speaker 1: thought they had their best practice of the summer. So
- 10:04Speaker 1: that was the Eagles offensive line there, the starting unit,
- 10:08Speaker 1: and then later on they had the second unit on
- 10:11Speaker 1: defense versus the first offense. That second unit had players
- 10:15Speaker 1: like Andre Sam Michael Carter, the second at safety. Cornerbacks
- 10:19Speaker 1: were Ambry Thomas Jacory and Bennett. Jonathan Jones was playing
- 10:23Speaker 1: some nickelback. The linebackers were Chance Campbell, Deontay laws In.
- 10:30Speaker 1: The undrafted rookie got in there for a little bit.
- 10:34Speaker 1: Jayalen Hurts sort of throws up a prayer down the field.
- 10:37Speaker 1: It was an overshot into double coverage to Hollywood Brown
- 10:41Speaker 1: early in the session, and it almost looked like a
- 10:44Speaker 1: punt and it was intercepted by Michael Carter, who made
- 10:48Speaker 1: a nice pick and then was able to secure it
- 10:50Speaker 1: on his way to the ground. Jaywen Hurts then tried
- 10:53Speaker 1: deep to Quez Watkins, who was covered by Taric Castro
- 10:58Speaker 1: fields Maximus Pulley was coming over. The pass was incomplete.
- 11:05Speaker 1: The reserve wide receivers and I've made note of that
- 11:08Speaker 1: group over the past two days of my observations. They've
- 11:11Speaker 1: made the most of their opportunities largely. But I thought
- 11:14Speaker 1: today when they had a really good moment where they
- 11:18Speaker 1: were going to take on the lion's share of the snaps,
- 11:20Speaker 1: they didn't necessarily meet the moment. They didn't necessarily help
- 11:22Speaker 1: their quarterback on a consistent basis. They struggled to get open,
- 11:26Speaker 1: they struggled to catch the football. And there was another one.
- 11:30Speaker 1: Jay when Hurts tries a long sideline throw. It was
- 11:34Speaker 1: a long one across the field and it was to
- 11:36Speaker 1: Johnny Wilson. Jacory and Bennett Get's a hand in there
- 11:40Speaker 1: to break it up. There was a flag that was
- 11:41Speaker 1: thrown on that play. And then jaywhen Hurts throws a
- 11:44Speaker 1: really nice pass on a wheel route down the left
- 11:47Speaker 1: sideline to will Shipley. Will Shipley has a step on
- 11:50Speaker 1: linebacker Smile Manden Jr. And Will just dropped the pass.
- 11:54Speaker 1: He didn't look it in and you gotta have those.
- 11:57Speaker 1: You got to come up with those plays for your quarterback,
- 12:00Speaker 1: especially when you're when you're undermanned on that side of
- 12:04Speaker 1: the ball, and he didn't do that. Tanner McKee was
- 12:08Speaker 1: first up with the second unit as the number two quarterback.
- 12:12Speaker 1: And for those who maybe have missed it, but I've
- 12:16Speaker 1: written about it and I talk about it every podcast.
- 12:18Speaker 1: The Eagles are rotating at quarterback with the number two
- 12:21Speaker 1: and Andy Dalton and Tanner McKee are sort of splitting
- 12:25Speaker 1: those reps. And yesterday was an Andy Dalton day. Today
- 12:29Speaker 1: was a Tanner McKee day. I didn't think that Tanner
- 12:32Speaker 1: McKee did a ton. I thought he held the ball
- 12:35Speaker 1: a little bit longer than you'd like to see him
- 12:37Speaker 1: do it. He seen a little scatter shot in the pocket,
- 12:41Speaker 1: he was short hopping some throws. I just didn't think
- 12:44Speaker 1: it was a clean practice in general for the offense.
- 12:46Speaker 1: But we're talking about Tanner McKee now, So those are
- 12:48Speaker 1: just some of the things that really stand out to me.
- 12:51Speaker 1: And there was a third and five in the red zone.
- 12:58Speaker 1: Running back Damian Pierce punches it in up the gut
- 13:01Speaker 1: and then on another instance, Andy Dalton is facing pressure
- 13:05Speaker 1: from zac Baond who's just bearing down in a game.
- 13:07Speaker 1: That's a sack, but then he chucks it into the
- 13:10Speaker 1: back corner to wide receiver Darius Cooper, who I think
- 13:14Speaker 1: he got both feet in. It was a really nifty
- 13:16Speaker 1: toe tap in the corner. I don't know what the
- 13:19Speaker 1: official ruling was on that. To me, it looked like
- 13:21Speaker 1: he got his feet in, but I wasn't necessarily standing
- 13:24Speaker 1: behind the end zone. I was just off to the
- 13:26Speaker 1: side there. Another instance of Jay when Hurst trying to
- 13:31Speaker 1: establish some sort of consistency there in the passing game.
- 13:36Speaker 1: He tried deep left to Hollywood Brown. It looked like
- 13:41Speaker 1: it was dropped to me, he had his hands on it.
- 13:44Speaker 1: There was a lot of traffic there. Quinnon, Mitchell, and
- 13:47Speaker 1: Drew mccooba were there. By the way, Drew mccooba is
- 13:50Speaker 1: having a nice training camp and he kind of gets
- 13:53Speaker 1: lost in the mix a little bit when you consider
- 13:55Speaker 1: all the other players that they have that star studded defense.
- 13:59Speaker 1: But mccouba is very fluid. He processes things quickly. He's
- 14:03Speaker 1: able to make up some ground. He has a really
- 14:05Speaker 1: good feel for his assignments. In this defense, and it's
- 14:09Speaker 1: been kind of fun to watch him out there flow
- 14:11Speaker 1: to the football and throw his body around and make
- 14:15Speaker 1: plays with great anticipation. I don't want to oversell it.
- 14:18Speaker 1: It's just been five practices, but I have been really
- 14:20Speaker 1: encouraged with what I've seen from Drew mccouba in the
- 14:24Speaker 1: early stages of his second season.
- 14:27Speaker 2: If I could create a cash app card to best
- 14:30Speaker 2: represent my family, it would be a cup of coffee,
- 14:33Speaker 2: but not in a mug. It would be in one
- 14:35Speaker 2: of those styrofoam to go cups, because basically that is
- 14:39Speaker 2: our family, always hitting those coffee places with the styrofoam cups.
- 14:43Speaker 2: You know them very well, and nothing makes my kids
- 14:46Speaker 2: happier than hitting up those places early and often. For
- 14:50Speaker 2: all the parents out there with teenagers, we know you're
- 14:52Speaker 2: already trying to keep a million different things under control.

- 16:54Speaker 1: There are a lot of short completions from the first
- 16:57Speaker 1: unit they tried. I just outlined some of the different
- 17:00Speaker 1: moments where Jay when Hurst was trying to push the
- 17:02Speaker 1: ball down the field and generate something, generate a spark
- 17:06Speaker 1: for the offense, and his receivers largely weren't able to
- 17:10Speaker 1: help him out there. And when you're playing with a
- 17:13Speaker 1: bunch of reserves and I feel they need to reserve.
- 17:15Speaker 1: To reiterate this, it's not going to look very clean.
- 17:20Speaker 1: You're playing, you're repping with players that you don't often
- 17:22Speaker 1: have that kind of chemistry with, and you're trying to
- 17:25Speaker 1: establish it on the fly. You're trying to make the
- 17:28Speaker 1: most of the practice reps. But I just didn't think
- 17:31Speaker 1: that the offense was the offense was overmatched. It wasn't
- 17:34Speaker 1: like they had their full complement of skill players. That's
- 17:37Speaker 1: all I'm trying to outline here. Tanner McKee had a
- 17:42Speaker 1: couple of nice connections to wide receivers Samari Tore the
- 17:45Speaker 1: both of those receptions which were a couple off. They
- 17:50Speaker 1: maybe they were like a couple snaps off. They looked
- 17:53Speaker 1: like they were over routes and they were almost identical
- 17:56Speaker 1: along the left side line there. Samari Tore, He's first
- 18:00Speaker 1: down the depth chart. He's not someone that I've I've
- 18:02Speaker 1: mentioned very much at all, but everybody bumps up in
- 18:05Speaker 1: the pecking order a little bit when you're down your
- 18:07Speaker 1: top two guys or top two of your top three receivers.
- 18:11Speaker 1: Jalen Hurts did have a really good connection today with
- 18:14Speaker 1: wide receiver DN Tavian Wicks, and that's something that you,
- 18:17Speaker 1: of course would like to see. He he hit him
- 18:21Speaker 1: on a lot of intermediary throws. There was one that
- 18:24Speaker 1: he hit him right before the end zone. Don Tavian
- 18:26Speaker 1: Wicks seemed to be feeling it today and you know
- 18:29Speaker 1: I saw him. You know, you could tell that he
- 18:32Speaker 1: was he was bringing the energy, he brought the swagger
- 18:34Speaker 1: with him, and Jalen was able to really find him
- 18:37Speaker 1: on a number of different completions. I think at least
- 18:40Speaker 1: a few that I can think of off the top of
- 18:42Speaker 1: my head, and that chemistry seems to be developing with
- 18:45Speaker 1: each practice. And he's the last man standing of the
- 18:49Speaker 1: top three, so naturally Jalen looked to him in some
- 18:52Speaker 1: high leverage spots and practice. Yeah, I mentioned that he
- 19:00Speaker 1: cut one. He caught one inside the one. Cooper dejen
- 19:03Speaker 1: was there in coverage and he had a nice one
- 19:07Speaker 1: with Drew mccooba in coverage earlier in the practice, Jay,
- 19:11Speaker 1: when Hurts connects with tight end EJ Jenkins on the
- 19:14Speaker 1: far right side, EJ gets it right inside the one
- 19:17Speaker 1: yard line. I talk about the defensive line quite a
- 19:23Speaker 1: bit for the Eagles defense, and for good reason. But
- 19:26Speaker 1: Byron Young and those of you who listened to this podcast,
- 19:30Speaker 1: you already know how I feel about b why I
- 19:32Speaker 1: think that he's a very underappreciated or under the radar
- 19:35Speaker 1: important player on this roster. There was one play where
- 19:39Speaker 1: he steamrolled center Jake majors into the backfield. Byron Young,
- 19:47Speaker 1: of course, on Monday, as I noted, had a play
- 19:50Speaker 1: where he wrapped up Tank Bigsby on an Andy Dalton handoff.
- 19:53Speaker 1: Moro Jomo provided some pressure there. Moro Jomo again provided
- 19:58Speaker 1: some penetration from the interior. Really fun practice player to watch,
- 20:02Speaker 1: and Byron Young is quietly having a nice training camp
- 20:04Speaker 1: as well. He stands to fulfill another really important role
- 20:10Speaker 1: as that fourth defensive tackle in the rotation. I really
- 20:15Speaker 1: like the kick return drill at the end of practice,
- 20:19Speaker 1: and that's where you'll see a line. I'm trying to
- 20:21Speaker 1: illustrate this for you all. There's a line. There's three
- 20:24Speaker 1: different lines, and there's players in each line. They're back
- 20:28Speaker 1: to receive and they are and they don't go simultaneously.
- 20:32Speaker 1: They go, you know, one at a time, and then
- 20:36Speaker 1: they are to field the ball and try to get
- 20:39Speaker 1: through cleanly. They have a couple of blockers in front
- 20:42Speaker 1: of them. They have a two players that are trying
- 20:44Speaker 1: to defeat the blockers and tag them before they're able
- 20:47Speaker 1: to get through, and just a couple of them. Ques
- 20:51Speaker 1: Watkins takes a rep and Cameron Lattu is one of
- 20:57Speaker 1: the players tests with tagging them. He he puts Darius
- 21:01Speaker 1: Cooper on his backside. I always caught the tail end
- 21:03Speaker 1: of that play. I don't know if Darius lost his
- 21:06Speaker 1: footing a little bit, but Cameron Latu is a physical
- 21:09Speaker 1: specimen watching him fly around out there on special teams.
- 21:13Speaker 1: And there's another play that I want to get to
- 21:15Speaker 1: later that I made note of, but that was an
- 21:18Speaker 1: interesting play. And then Damian Pierce got through pretty cleanly
- 21:22Speaker 1: on a rep. Will Shipley had some good juice and
- 21:26Speaker 1: then he was tagged by J. T. Gray and his
- 21:28Speaker 1: opportunity Danny Gray on his kick return, Darius Cooper storms through.
- 21:33Speaker 1: He squares him up and and and you know, thuds
- 21:37Speaker 1: thuds him for the stop there. Samari Torre had a return.
- 21:44Speaker 1: He got a nice block from E. J. Jenkins on
- 21:46Speaker 1: Cameron Lattu which really set the edge and allowed him
- 21:48Speaker 1: to to shimmy through there for relatively cleanly. Tank Bigsby
- 21:54Speaker 1: got through untouched in his rep on Elijah Moore's rep.
- 22:00Speaker 1: The rookie tight end de kwon right sort of tossed
- 22:03Speaker 1: down Eli Stowers. You know, when you get tangled up
- 22:06Speaker 1: in those things, that happens. But nice, nice to see
- 22:09Speaker 1: the rookie make a play there. One of the rookies,
- 22:13Speaker 1: Ques Watkins, got another opportunity, this time Eli Stowers got
- 22:18Speaker 1: around the blocker to get there to him and make
- 22:22Speaker 1: the play. Danny Gray gets another return, and someone who
- 22:27Speaker 1: I've probably never discussed through trading camp through five practice,
- 22:30Speaker 1: Jose Ramirez, a reserve edge rusher, gets around Cameron Latu
- 22:35Speaker 1: to make the play. He don't often see Cameron Latzu
- 22:37Speaker 1: lose a rep like that, but I think that was
- 22:39Speaker 1: one where he patted his helmet. It was either that
- 22:41Speaker 1: one or the one with e J Jenkins that Ej
- 22:45Speaker 1: held off on that block. But the red zone, there
- 22:49Speaker 1: was a red zone play going back to Cameron Latsu
- 22:51Speaker 1: because he went in with the first team and it
- 22:53Speaker 1: was for one rep. Towards the end of practice. He
- 22:56Speaker 1: delivers a very physical block on Jay Looks Hunt drives
- 22:59Speaker 1: him off the well. It was a Saquon Barkley carry.
- 23:02Speaker 1: Those are some of the qualities that Cameron Latou can bring,
- 23:05Speaker 1: both as a tight end and as a fullback, and
- 23:07Speaker 1: certainly on special teams. So that was the practice. That
- 23:11Speaker 1: was sort of just my cliff notes version of what
- 23:14Speaker 1: I'll be writing up on Inside the Birds dot Com
- 23:17Speaker 1: wanted to get that to you guys. First. It was
- 23:19Speaker 1: a long practice, about an hour and fifty minutes. It
- 23:22Speaker 1: was a hot one out there and something that when
- 23:26Speaker 1: you look at this practice, you have to take everything
- 23:29Speaker 1: into account here, and they were undermanned on offense. That
- 23:33Speaker 1: certainly doesn't help an offense that's trying to really install
- 23:36Speaker 1: and find their footing. And when you have a defense
- 23:39Speaker 1: that's firing and all cylinders the way the Eagles defense is,
- 23:42Speaker 1: it compounds things even further. So I think all that
- 23:45Speaker 1: needs to be all that needs to be taken into
- 23:49Speaker 1: account when you're assessing Tuesday's practice. The Eagles were back
- 23:54Speaker 1: on the practice field Wednesday at ten am, and then
- 23:58Speaker 1: they'll have the walkthrough Thursday, and then two more practices
- 24:01Speaker 1: later this week. So it's a very eventful week down
- 24:04Speaker 1: there at the Jefferson Health Training Complex. I'll have all
- 24:06Speaker 1: the news for you, all the sights and sounds, try
- 24:10Speaker 1: to illustrate it as best I can on this podcast,
- 24:12Speaker 1: and Adam Kaplan and myself will be recording a podcast
- 24:16Speaker 1: and that comes out Wednesday. That's gonna do it for
- 24:20Speaker 1: this episode of to check O Daily, I'm Andrew de
- 24:22Speaker 1: Checko and I'll catch you all on the next one.
