Let's start with 'un livre' — a book. Say it with me: un livre. Luna: Un livre. Lucas: Good! And 'un stylo' — a pen. Luna: Un stylo. Lucas: Right. Now 'un cahier' — a notebook. Luna: Un cahier. That's a notebook, right? Lucas: Exactly. Next, 'un bureau' — a desk. Luna: Un bureau. Lucas: And 'une chaise' — a chair. Luna: Une chaise. So many new words! Lucas: Let's practice them all together. Listen and repeat: un livre, un stylo, un cahier, un bureau, une chaise. Luna: Un livre, un stylo, un cahier, un bureau, une chaise. Lucas: You got it. Now imagine you're in a French classroom. You sit on une chaise, you write with un stylo in un cahier, and you put it on un bureau. You read un livre. Luna: That's a nice scene. I can picture it. Lucas: Let's quiz you. I'll say the English, you say the French. Book? Luna: Un livre. Lucas: Pen? Luna: Un stylo. Lucas: Notebook? Luna: Un cahier. Lucas: Desk? Luna: Un bureau. Lucas: Chair? Luna: Une chaise. Lucas: Excellent! Remember we learned 'la chaise' in the furniture episode? This is the same, just with 'une' because it's feminine. Luna: Oh, right! That makes sense. Lucas: And 'un livre' — we talked about books at the library. It's the same word. Luna: Yeah, I remember. 'Un livre' is a book. Lucas: So these words are coming up again. That's how you build vocabulary. Luna: I love that. Repetition really helps.
