- 1:56Sean McAllister: If it's fun to do or see, it's on Vegas Near Me.
- 2:00Dayna Roselli: Let's get to it now and spin that wheel.
- 2:25Dayna Roselli: I think this is the most snow we've had like regularly in many years.
- 2:29Sean McAllister: Yeah, I don't I don't remember it snowing this many times in a in a winter season.
- 2:36Sean McAllister: Usually it's like maybe once, right?
- 2:38Sean McAllister: Occasionally twice, just to have flurries.
- 2:42Sean McAllister: But there's been a handful of times now we've had big chunky flakes falling out of the sky.
- 2:47Dayna Roselli: I know, which is so rare.
- 2:48Dayna Roselli: You know, it doesn't usually stick on the ground, but you once it clears, like the clouds clear, it's just all up in the mountains.
- 2:55Dayna Roselli: It's absolutely gorgeous, really.
- 2:57Sean McAllister: Blue skies, it is.
- 2:58Sean McAllister: And one good thing about the snow, uh, I just saw a newspaper article saying that the snowpack in the Rockies is they're projecting it to be enough to hold Lake Mead's water levels steady for at least the near future.
- 3:16Sean McAllister: Yeah, we'll take steady, right?
- 3:18Sean McAllister: Absolutely.
- 3:19Dayna Roselli: That's better than gosh, it keeps going down and down.
- 3:21Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we need the rain, we need the snow, all of it.
- 3:24Dayna Roselli: So even though it's, you know, hasn't been the most pleasant weather winter, I guess, in Las Vegas, it's beneficial.
- 3:32Dayna Roselli: Let's put it that way.
- 3:33Sean McAllister: It is, but we're ready for spring and summer.
- 3:35Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah, big time.
- 3:37Dayna Roselli: Hey, I saw this tram closure happening at our airport, and I thought we have a lot of people that visit Las Vegas that listen to us that come in from other countries, around the country.
- 3:47Dayna Roselli: And this would be kind of a good warning for folks that are going to LAS, the Harry Reed Airport here in Las Vegas.
- 3:55Dayna Roselli: Um, one of the trams is like getting some maintenance.
- 3:59Dayna Roselli: And we say the tram, it's like from when you go through security, you go from the main terminal one building to like the D gate.
- 4:06Sean McAllister: Right.
- 4:06Sean McAllister: It transports you between the gates after you get back through the security checkpoint.
- 4:12Sean McAllister: Um yeah, I there usually is, I mean, people end up you get a crowd waiting for the trams just on a normal day.
- 4:20Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 4:21Sean McAllister: And you know, when a bunch of flights let off at the same time, you could be looking at uh quite a lengthy uh delay with one of the trams now out of service.
- 4:33Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so it said because I thought maybe it would just be a few days, but so terminal one, uh the tram there to the D gates um is gonna be reduced to one tram.
- 4:42Dayna Roselli: And if this is apparently gonna take uh several weeks, so we can expect congestion for sure, we can expect longer waits at the tram stations, um, need to allow more time if you're going to that D concourse.
- 4:58Dayna Roselli: So check when you book your flight, see what concourse you're on.
- 5:02Dayna Roselli: If you're going to D, you need to build in some more time for sure.
- 5:06Dayna Roselli: But we also have a little trick around it, don't we?
- 5:08Sean McAllister: We do.
- 5:09Sean McAllister: So this is the blue line tram that is being taken out of service.
- 5:14Sean McAllister: Here's the workaround, though.
- 5:16Sean McAllister: If you're flying on Delta, American or Advanced Airlines, we didn't know about advanced airlines, we just heard it through this uh warning here.
- 5:27Sean McAllister: Uh, you can actually save time and check in over at terminal three, go through security there, and then take the red line tram to the D gate to catch your flight.
- 5:39Sean McAllister: So normally you would check in at terminal one.
- 5:43Sean McAllister: Uh the airport officials are now suggesting you check in at terminal three, that's the new terminal, and use the red line tram to get over to your gate.
- 5:52Sean McAllister: So that could be something that saves a lot of time, uh, frustration and headache.
- 5:58Dayna Roselli: Yeah, to get out or whatever.
- 5:59Dayna Roselli: But I did notice it says no bags to check.
- 6:01Dayna Roselli: Question mark.
- 6:02Dayna Roselli: So you can't check bags at terminal three at terminal three, right.
- 6:05Dayna Roselli: So if you're Delta American, so you gotta so prepare ahead, like with giving you this tip, find a way around it.
- 6:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah, don't check bags.
- 6:12Sean McAllister: Another note that could uh cost you some time, there are also uh renovation projects going on at the parking structure over at Terminal One.
- 6:22Sean McAllister: So a lot of the long-term parking, um, it's very limited over at that garage, if any at all.
- 6:29Sean McAllister: Uh, I know the last two times that I've flown within the past month and a half, uh, we've had to park in the economy lot and take the bus shuttle back to the terminal, um, which I think it's maybe$12 a day to go to the economy lot.
- 6:46Sean McAllister: Yeah, and the shuttles run pretty regularly, so it wasn't a big deal, you know, for our travel plans.
- 6:54Sean McAllister: But we also knew going in that we were gonna need to go to the economy lot, so we added in a little extra time.
- 7:00Dayna Roselli: So that shuttle can be a real pain.
- 7:02Dayna Roselli: I'm just gonna say it.
- 7:03Dayna Roselli: It can, it can.
- 7:04Dayna Roselli: Like, I avoid it completely now.
- 7:05Dayna Roselli: I just Uber or taxi, it all comes out like to be cheaper anyway, but I totally get it.
- 7:09Dayna Roselli: Like, and I think because you're going with someone, but like me going alone, like the bags and waiting for the shuttle and pulling up and going, and then it's like I just want to get dropped off in front of the terminal, you know what I mean?
- 7:21Dayna Roselli: But um, and you do have to add in, and like my friend, you know, she's got kids, she travels a lot, and like she's the same thing, she gets frustrated because she's like, it is a process when you've got children and all that.
- 7:31Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, it is simple, they make it as easy as possible, and you're right, it's definitely uh affordable, but um it's kind of a pain if you can't go right in the garage or yeah, yeah.
- 7:44Sean McAllister: It is, but hopefully, whatever project they're doing with the parking is going to alleviate a lot of that once they're done.
- 7:51Dayna Roselli: Yeah, so I I saw someone comment the other day like when like we're gonna need an airport just like major expansion at some point here.
- 7:59Dayna Roselli: And I thought it was interesting, and I was like, you know what?
- 8:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you're probably right.
- 8:02Sean McAllister: I I think there was uh a report recently that said by 2037 Las Vegas is going to need like it'd be in desperate need of a new airport, a new major airport because it won't be able to handle the the traffic that's projected at that point in time.
- 8:25Sean McAllister: So I know that there have been talks about a second airport, um nothing set in stone about that.
- 8:32Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 8:33Dayna Roselli: I was just thinking, how old am I gonna be in 2037?
- 8:36Sean McAllister: Oh god.
- 8:37Dayna Roselli: I did is that 15 years?
- 8:38Dayna Roselli: 14 years.
- 8:39Dayna Roselli: 15, 14, yeah.
- 8:41Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 8:42Dayna Roselli: Well, anyway, we nobody needs to know the answer to that.
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: But I at first when you said that.
- 8:48Sean McAllister: We'll cross that bridge if we're still doing the podcast.
- 8:52Dayna Roselli: At first, when you said that, which 2037 is not that far away, but I started to think, will I still be alive?
- 8:57Dayna Roselli: Yes, I will still be alive.
- 8:58Dayna Roselli: We hope.
- 9:00Dayna Roselli: Fingers crossed.
- 9:01Dayna Roselli: I've had a great life.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: If all goes well.
- 9:03Dayna Roselli: All right.
- 9:04Dayna Roselli: Well, just sticking with the airport theme, we wanted to mention this.
- 9:07Dayna Roselli: We have a lot of listeners from Canada.
- 9:09Dayna Roselli: Hey, Canada.
- 9:10Sean McAllister: What up?
- 9:10Dayna Roselli: Um, we have a new airline called Lynx Airline.
- 9:13Dayna Roselli: And see, we need to expand.
- 9:15Dayna Roselli: Um, on February 24th, um, Lynx actually added Las Vegas to their network.
- 9:21Dayna Roselli: Um, so it's a much awaited, you know, flight that everyone's kind of been hoping for.
- 9:27Dayna Roselli: And it's from Calgary to Las Vegas.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: Um, so they now have this flight.
- 9:33Dayna Roselli: They did this big inaugural flight.
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Of course they had showgirls there.
- 9:36Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 9:36Dayna Roselli: Yeah, out on the tarmac to make a big splash, always fun.
- 9:40Dayna Roselli: But um, we're excited to have Lynx carrying now our friends in Calgary over to Las Vegas and back.
- 9:46Dayna Roselli: So enjoy because we know we have a lot of people in Canada that love to visit us.
- 9:51Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I bet uh Lynx will have some special deals, especially corresponding to uh the Golden Knights games where Calgary is playing down here.
- 10:00Dayna Roselli: Very true.
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: That's a good point.
- 10:03Dayna Roselli: Hey, we wanted to go over just a couple bars we went to recently.
- 10:06Dayna Roselli: Um, we've actually had just like some some friend catch-ups, we've had some businessy kind of things, and we thought, you know, there are some good hot well, not even there are some good restaurant bars.
- 10:17Sean McAllister: There are.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: Because sometimes you think about like I'm going to go to a bar, but there are like a lot of restaurants that have a bar area that like it's definitely worth going to.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: But and you and I both recently went to a few.
- 10:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I I think what I forgot is how much I love sitting at the bar and when I go to a restaurant, almost more than sitting at a table.
- 10:41Sean McAllister: Uh, especially if there's not like a big group of you, if it's just like a couple seats at the bar, or if you just go alone and you're sitting at the bar.
- 10:49Sean McAllister: You know, you chat up the the bartenders.
- 10:52Sean McAllister: A lot of times there's a full restaurant menu available at the bar, and you get a lot more attention from the servers, I think, when you sit at the bar.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: I agree.
- 11:01Dayna Roselli: You're right.
- 11:02Dayna Roselli: We had some great espresso martinis at RPM inside the forum shops.
- 11:06Dayna Roselli: Those were delicious, right?
- 11:08Sean McAllister: They really were.
- 11:09Dayna Roselli: We met up with some friends there that were in town from Los Angeles.
- 11:12Dayna Roselli: It was great though, but what a great bar area at RPM.
- 11:16Dayna Roselli: I mean, we didn't eat.
- 11:17Dayna Roselli: Um, our friends were going to eat, but it just, I don't know.
- 11:21Dayna Roselli: I love the colors in there, the black and white and the lighting, and the bartender was great.
- 11:26Dayna Roselli: And it just was a really nice area to just kind of hang.
- 11:30Sean McAllister: And it's not super crammed in there.
- 11:32Sean McAllister: I know in some bars that you go to that are inside of a restaurant, like the bar space isn't given the amount of room that you might want.
- 11:42Sean McAllister: Right.
- 11:42Sean McAllister: You know, there might be tables really close behind you.
- 11:46Sean McAllister: Um, that's not the case at RPM.
- 11:48Sean McAllister: It has its own dedicated bar area and it is.
- 11:51Sean McAllister: It's really nice.
- 11:53Sean McAllister: Highly uh recommend going there.
- 11:56Sean McAllister: And then Dana, I know the other night you ended up going to a different bar for dinner.
- 12:01Dayna Roselli: Yeah, a steakhouse, in fact.
- 12:03Dayna Roselli: I haven't been to the new one steakhouse at Virgin.
- 12:06Dayna Roselli: Um, Virgin is the old hard rock just off the strip.
- 12:10Dayna Roselli: Uh, there's a lot of restaurants in there.
- 12:12Dayna Roselli: But my friend John, who works for the Review Journal, um, we've talked about John Castlemides many times.
- 12:17Dayna Roselli: Uh, he said, Hey, we haven't seen you in a while.
- 12:18Dayna Roselli: Let's meet up.
- 12:19Dayna Roselli: Why don't we go to um eat at the bar area of one steakhouse?
- 12:24Dayna Roselli: Because he said the bartenders are great.
- 12:25Dayna Roselli: I know so-and-so over there, blah, blah, blah.
- 12:27Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, we went and it was great.
- 12:30Dayna Roselli: First of all, they have a really great kind of ceiling decoration going on, which is beautiful when you walk in.
- 12:37Dayna Roselli: It's a beautiful steakhouse, but the bar area is nice too.
- 12:40Dayna Roselli: John and I sat at the bar and it was great because we really just caught up.
- 12:43Dayna Roselli: Um, actually, we didn't even drink, we ate.
- 12:45Dayna Roselli: Like I had a Diet Coke, he had like a fizzy water, but we got food.
- 12:49Dayna Roselli: And let me tell you, the rig, um, what was it?
- 12:52Dayna Roselli: Short rib rigatoni.
- 12:53Dayna Roselli: It's a side.
- 12:55Dayna Roselli: It was enough.
- 12:55Sean McAllister: That's amazing.
- 12:56Dayna Roselli: Uh, it was enough for a meal.
- 12:58Dayna Roselli: I actually posted it on Twitter and people are like, where, when, how?
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: Like that looks so good.
- 13:02Dayna Roselli: I'm like, I know it was.
- 13:04Dayna Roselli: And then I had like a tomato and burrata salad too, which was delicious.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: I mean, the food was so good.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: I can't even say enough about it.
- 13:12Dayna Roselli: It was delicious.
- 13:12Sean McAllister: Well, and I've heard a lot of great things about One Steakhouse.
- 13:15Sean McAllister: I haven't been over there yet, but I'm I'm glad that you did.
- 13:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was great.
- 13:19Dayna Roselli: Um, I'll definitely be back.
- 13:20Dayna Roselli: But again, the bar area, you don't have to go, you can just go and eat in there, you know, if you just want a little bit more of a casual vibe.
- 13:27Dayna Roselli: You don't want to go sit at a table in the main dining room.
- 13:30Dayna Roselli: So another good spot.
- 13:31Dayna Roselli: Um, that one off the strip.
- 13:33Dayna Roselli: And then you went over to the Nomad Bar after a Golden Knights game recently, and you said, Hey, I forgot about this place.
- 13:39Dayna Roselli: And I was like, gosh, I did too, because I haven't been there in ages, but it is a good bar.
- 13:44Sean McAllister: Oh, it was great.
- 13:46Sean McAllister: So uh some friends have season tickets to the Golden Knights, and not all of their seats were full, so they called up, they said, Hey, do you guys want to go?
- 13:55Sean McAllister: Super last minute.
- 13:56Sean McAllister: We were like, Yeah, sure, why not?
- 13:58Sean McAllister: After the game, it went to shootout, it was fun.
- 14:01Sean McAllister: And yeah, I always forget about the excitement level inside Golden Knights games.
- 14:06Sean McAllister: Like it really does give you chills.
- 14:08Sean McAllister: Anyway, after the game, uh, we went back over to Nomad and went into the Nomad Bar.
- 14:14Sean McAllister: And I don't think I had ever been in there.
- 14:16Sean McAllister: I'd been to the library, which is kind of across the the hallway there.
- 14:22Sean McAllister: Um, that's where Brian Newman performs his late night show.
- 14:26Sean McAllister: Um, but I'd never been into the Nomad Bar where they have in the evenings, it's like a piano bar.
- 14:33Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 14:34Sean McAllister: You put your request in, you tip the piano guy, and it is a classy uh environment in there, but it's not pretentious.
- 14:45Sean McAllister: Like people were coming in in their golden knights jerseys after the game.
- 14:49Sean McAllister: Uh, you know, people were singing along to the music, having a great time, and the food there was really good too.
- 14:57Dayna Roselli: Yeah, they have a good menu.
- 14:59Dayna Roselli: Um, yeah, and so the library is actually after hours, like you said.
- 15:04Dayna Roselli: So, so the nomad restaurant is the library.
- 15:08Dayna Roselli: So when the restaurant closes, that's when they open the library.
- 15:11Dayna Roselli: But the whole time the nomad bar is open and that's across the way.
- 15:15Dayna Roselli: So, like, that's kind of the bar of that one tower, I guess, right?
- 15:20Dayna Roselli: And so you forget that like if you're not going to hang out at the bar, um, you're usually walking through there to just kind of you have dinner reservations.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 15:28Dayna Roselli: Or you're going to a show or something like that.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: So, anyway, sometimes people forget about it, but I love that it was busy.
- 15:33Dayna Roselli: And for folks that don't know, and and maybe you mentioned this already, nomad is a tower inside Park MGM.
- 15:39Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:39Sean McAllister: I did not mention that.
- 15:40Sean McAllister: So I'm glad you did.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 15:41Dayna Roselli: Because some people are like, wait, what?
- 15:43Dayna Roselli: What's the nomad?
- 15:44Sean McAllister: Right.
- 15:44Dayna Roselli: You still forget.
- 15:45Dayna Roselli: We have so much here that it's hard to keep track of everything if you're not like living here and going to those places like we do that often.
- 15:52Sean McAllister: And by the way, uh, if you are, you know, pool season is coming up on us here.
- 15:57Sean McAllister: Uh, the nomad has a really great pool area too.
- 16:00Dayna Roselli: Didn't we go there last summer?
- 16:01Dayna Roselli: Was that where we went for the party?
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:02Dayna Roselli: Mark's party.
- 16:03Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 16:04Dayna Roselli: That I couldn't remember.
- 16:04Dayna Roselli: Was that park?
- 16:05Dayna Roselli: Yeah, you're right.
- 16:06Dayna Roselli: That was a great pool.
- 16:07Sean McAllister: And it's really pretty.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 16:08Sean McAllister: Chill, but pretty, but fun.
- 16:11Dayna Roselli: And they had like large checkers or connect four.
- 16:13Sean McAllister: They did.
- 16:14Sean McAllister: They had large drinks too.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 16:16Dayna Roselli: I think we were all pretty slosh that day.
- 16:19Sean McAllister: So to put a bow on the bar conversation, we visited the bar at RPM inside the forum shops at Caesars Palace, one steakhouse over at uh Virgin Hotels, and Nomad Bar over at the Nomad, which is uh part of Park MGM.
- 16:36Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 16:37Dayna Roselli: Well, we did mention that we caught up with some friends.
- 16:39Dayna Roselli: And so here's the deal: a lot of people, we have been seeing a lot of people, more and more, going to see Adele.
- 16:45Dayna Roselli: Weekends with Adele over at the Coliseum at Caesars Palace.
- 16:49Dayna Roselli: Now, most of them, from what we're seeing, have big things to say about it.
- 16:54Dayna Roselli: You may remember that she actually canceled shortly before this show was supposed to kick off for the first time a while back.
- 17:00Dayna Roselli: Then after some time, she announced, you know, she's she's ready, she's she's coming, and she's been consistently doing shows for months now.
- 17:08Sean McAllister: Yeah, she has.
- 17:09Sean McAllister: And listen, her tickets are expensive.
- 17:12Sean McAllister: So the big question when you get a ticket at a price tag like that, is it worth it?
- 17:19Sean McAllister: We have our friend Phil Berman on the line from Los Angeles.
- 17:22Sean McAllister: He just came into town last weekend to see the show.
- 17:25Sean McAllister: Now, Phil admits it is one of the most expensive tickets he has ever bought.
- 17:32Sean McAllister: So we wanted to call him up and hear about it.
- 17:36Dayna Roselli: Phil is a producer at KCal in Los Angeles.
- 17:39Dayna Roselli: We work with him often.
- 17:40Dayna Roselli: He came into town, as I mentioned, just to see Adele.
- 17:45Dayna Roselli: Phil, I have so many questions, but first, what's like your overall two-word reaction?
- 17:52Sean McAllister: Two-word reaction?
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: I was gonna say one word.
- 17:55Sean McAllister: Putting you on the spot here.
- 17:56Sean McAllister: They better be two good words.
- 17:57Dayna Roselli: But then I felt like, oh, let's give him another word too.
- 18:00SPEAKER_02: What about absolutely mind-blowing?
- 18:04SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 18:06Dayna Roselli: Love it because I was just thinking absolutely stunning.
- 18:09Dayna Roselli: So, really, so we we had talked before you had gone to the show when you were like, We did, I've been waiting.
- 18:16Dayna Roselli: This is probably the most expensive ticket I've ever purchased, but I'm hoping it's worth it.
- 18:21Dayna Roselli: So, what you're saying is it was worth it.
- 18:23SPEAKER_02: 110%.
- 18:25Sean McAllister: What made it worth it?
- 18:26Sean McAllister: What was it about the whole show?
- 18:28SPEAKER_02: I mean, I have to start by saying, like, I'm not like Adele's number one fan.
- 18:33SPEAKER_02: I just know the hits.
- 18:35SPEAKER_02: Obviously, I know she's a fantastic singer-songwriter.
- 18:38SPEAKER_02: Her voice is out of control, and I just felt like this is the ticket to get like the hottest ticket in town.
- 18:46SPEAKER_02: So my friend Sean, my colleague who I work with, the two of us were like, let's do it.
- 18:51SPEAKER_02: And we went into the lottery thing with Ticketmaster back in, I think it was like August.
- 18:56SPEAKER_02: Uh, we were selected, we got tickets, um, and we're like, we'll just we'll figure everything else out as it gets closer.
- 19:03SPEAKER_02: So um we get there to the venue, and there's just an energy.
- 19:08SPEAKER_02: Like, I mean, when you're at Caesars and like you're waiting in the line with like thousands of other people to get into this, you know, arena, and everyone is you could just feel it.
- 19:17SPEAKER_02: Like everyone's just excited to be there and happy to be there, and it's like finally happening.
- 19:21Sean McAllister: Yeah, it's thousands of other people who have waited just like you for the show date to come.
- 19:26SPEAKER_02: And not just as long as us, but even longer, because she'll mention that our show, which was Saturday night, was the final show that was rescheduled from her original residency that got canceled.
- 19:39Sean McAllister: Oh, okay.
- 19:40SPEAKER_02: So it was a really special show for her that she had completed her residency requirements, and now obviously she's doing more shows, but our show was the final one that people have been waiting probably over a year for.
- 19:52SPEAKER_02: Wow.
- 19:52Dayna Roselli: Wow, that is incredible.
- 19:54Dayna Roselli: So, what did what was it like in there?
- 19:56Dayna Roselli: I know I've seen some videos.
- 19:58Dayna Roselli: She seems to walk the aisles a lot, interact with the crowd.
- 20:02Dayna Roselli: What can we expect if we splurge and we go see Adele?
- 20:07SPEAKER_02: Uh everyone should splurge.
- 20:08SPEAKER_02: It's a once-in-a-lifetime thing.
- 20:10SPEAKER_02: And she well, I'll I'll just basically run down the show.
- 20:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, it's first of all, she started about 8.15.
- 20:16SPEAKER_02: They there was a sign outside the door, and it was like the show starts promptly at 8 o'clock, and it was like, okay, it's 8.15.
- 20:21SPEAKER_02: Because I think people are like outside in the lobby getting their drinks, going to the bathroom.
- 20:25SPEAKER_02: So 8.15, she's on.
- 20:26SPEAKER_02: And then it was a full no, I mean, it was a full two hours and 15 minutes.
- 20:31SPEAKER_02: And um, like I think she did 20 songs.
- 20:35SPEAKER_02: Um, she starts off very simple.
- 20:37SPEAKER_02: It's just her on the stage with a piano.
- 20:40SPEAKER_02: And um, I mean, do you want me to give like spoilers of songs and like whatnot?
- 20:44Dayna Roselli: Um a few of them.
- 20:45Sean McAllister: Yeah, we can yield that sometimes if there's okay.
- 20:48SPEAKER_02: I mean, you know she's you know she's gonna do the hit.
- 20:50SPEAKER_02: So she starts off with hello, which she said before she has to start off with hello, yeah, and then she goes, she does easy on me, and then she does um another song that I didn't know, but it was like just three straight piano ballads, and she just wanted to like do it just sitting on the stage, her and the piano to kind of bring the audience into like the studio with her, like the process of like recording with her, and just kind of it was it just felt very intimate.
- 21:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, however many people there are, it just feels like she's singing to you because it's just such a cool, intimate venue at Caesars.
- 21:21SPEAKER_02: And uh then she says, you know, don't worry, I'm gonna finish my ballads, and then I'm gonna give you full Vegas, I'm gonna give you magic, I'm gonna give you surprises.
- 21:27SPEAKER_02: And she did.
- 21:28SPEAKER_02: She there like this the set opens up and there's a whole band and her backup singers and everyone.
- 21:35SPEAKER_02: Um, there's a video.
- 21:36SPEAKER_02: I mean, everyone's seen the video online of when she does set fire to the rain, and it's like raining on stage with the piano.
- 21:42SPEAKER_02: It's like it's a different animal when you are there in person.
- 21:47SPEAKER_02: It's it's beyond incredible.
- 21:49SPEAKER_02: Like, it's like wow, this is it's raining on stage.
- 21:52SPEAKER_02: It's super cool.
- 21:53SPEAKER_02: And so after set fire, they obviously have to do a set change because like the stage is soaking wet.
- 21:59SPEAKER_02: So that's when like she She goes out into the audience and like she was talking to some of the people.
- 22:02SPEAKER_02: There was a group from Mexico, and she was talking to them, and then she's talking to other people, and she's you know, kind of you you could tell she's like killing time.
- 22:11SPEAKER_02: Uh and then like basically the piano starts and then she goes into her next song.
- 22:15SPEAKER_02: So it was, I mean, she's literally like 30 feet from us, just like hanging out in the crowd with people, just wild.
- 22:20Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: I mean, Sean and I always say that's what makes it a Vegas show.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: There has to be something different than if you were just to go see that person like in concert.
- 22:30Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 22:31Sean McAllister: There has to be something personal where every show is different.
- 22:35SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and and she like she's just she's is everyone's best friend.
- 22:40SPEAKER_02: I mean, she curses during the show.
- 22:41SPEAKER_02: She has great, you know, banter and great, like great stories between each song.
- 22:46SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean, literally, people are like screaming their heads off, you know, with lyrics.
- 22:51SPEAKER_02: And I mean, there are like huge, I mean, the people behind me were like they knew every single song.
- 22:57SPEAKER_02: I mean, listen, I I know probably half the songs.
- 22:59SPEAKER_02: Right.
- 23:00SPEAKER_02: Um, I mean, I know them all now because I've just listened to them because I love them all.
- 23:03SPEAKER_02: But like, I mean, I went in like again, only knowing the hits.
- 23:06SPEAKER_02: So I knew about half of what she sang, but like it doesn't matter what she sings.
- 23:10SPEAKER_02: Like, you could sing the phone book and I'd still listen.
- 23:13SPEAKER_02: I mean, I told my friend Sean, I said, listen, we could be there another hour just to hear her sing whatever.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: I don't care.
- 23:19SPEAKER_02: Like, we'll stay as long as she wants us to stay.
- 23:22SPEAKER_02: Um but it it was, y'all, it was just the the stage and like the effects.
- 23:28SPEAKER_02: And she has, oh my god, this one part during the show, she has t-shirt cannons.
- 23:36SPEAKER_02: Okay, and she's firing t-shirts into the crowd.
- 23:40SPEAKER_02: It was so absurdly funny.
- 23:42SPEAKER_02: Did you get one?
- 23:44SPEAKER_02: No, no, because they went up to the balcony.
- 23:45SPEAKER_02: Oh but like to see Adele with t-shirt cannons, it was just hysterical.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 23:52Sean McAllister: Well, and I was gonna say, uh, and you just touched on this, Phil.
- 23:56Sean McAllister: The other uh mark of a really good residency show, we've talked about it here on the podcast before, is that after you're done seeing that performer, you end up being a bigger fan than before you walked in the door.
- 24:10Sean McAllister: 100%.
- 24:10Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 24:11Dayna Roselli: Sounds like you are if you've been listening to the music and stuff.
- 24:14Dayna Roselli: So that's definitely the effect it had on you, huh?
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: Yeah.
- 24:18SPEAKER_02: I mean, I, you know, yeah, I have my I mean, my favorite song of hers is uh called Love is a Game.
- 24:25SPEAKER_02: And um, that's what she ends with.
- 24:27SPEAKER_02: She ends all her shows with it.
- 24:28SPEAKER_02: It's funny, she starts all her shows with Hello and she ends with Love is a Game.
- 24:31SPEAKER_02: And um, like that's my favorite song of all time.
- 24:34SPEAKER_02: And um, like she had some in the middle that I'm just like, these are great songs.
- 24:38SPEAKER_02: So yeah, I'm yes, a bigger fan, of course.
- 24:40SPEAKER_02: How could you not be?
- 24:41SPEAKER_02: And like we were talking, like, we don't understand how she can do this every night.
- 24:47SPEAKER_02: I mean, like, you know, two times a week, right?
- 24:50SPEAKER_02: Like the voice is it's perfect.
- 24:55Dayna Roselli: It's like, yeah, people have said the sound too, because they they recently made some upgrades at the Coliseum, and the sound is very noticeable.
- 25:04Dayna Roselli: Sean and I noticed that with another show.
- 25:06Dayna Roselli: I can't remember if it was Brooks and Dunn or Sting that we went to, but um it everyone keeps saying it is like just perfection.
- 25:15SPEAKER_02: I mean, from the first note to the last note, it's not, I mean, it was perfection.
- 25:20Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 25:21Sean McAllister: So let me ask you this, Phil.
- 25:22Sean McAllister: If you had uh this Adele show to measure up against like a bucket list musical performance that that you have, is there anything that could top what you just saw here in Las Vegas?
- 25:37SPEAKER_02: Like Alive or Dead?
- 25:38Sean McAllister: Alive or dead, why not?
- 25:41SPEAKER_02: I think if it was alive, there's listen, my favorite artist is John Mayer, and it will always be, and I've seen him in a concert maybe 17 times.
- 25:50SPEAKER_02: And so that any of his shows for me are number one, but I like we were comparing them and we said this is probably top three or maybe even top two concert of our lives.
- 26:01SPEAKER_02: But I think the only thing that could top this, maybe for me, is seeing Whitney Houston in concert.
- 26:09Dayna Roselli: I know, but I never saw Whitney.
- 26:11Dayna Roselli: Never saw her, regret it.
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: Never saw her.
- 26:13SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and that I don't really know anyone else who has a voice that powerful.
- 26:22SPEAKER_02: Uh, it would probably be Whitney.
- 26:23Sean McAllister: Well, listen, you make that happen, and it would definitely sell out like Adele.
- 26:28Dayna Roselli: 100%.
- 26:29Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I'm in your boat, uh Phil, because I like I I like Adele.
- 26:35Dayna Roselli: I really enjoyed listening to her music, but I'm not her biggest fan either.
- 26:39Dayna Roselli: So it was interesting to hear your take.
- 26:41Dayna Roselli: And it, you know, you guys struggled to get in here, or it was a weekend full of weather in LA and Vegas, and so you had to fly instead of drive, but you feel that all was worth it.
- 26:51SPEAKER_02: Yes, it was we were there, you guys, 36 hours.
- 26:55unknown: Wow.
- 26:56SPEAKER_02: And it was, I mean, it was a hundred percent.
- 26:58SPEAKER_02: I mean, I told again my friend Sean at work, I said, Sean, do we sell the ticket?
- 27:03SPEAKER_02: She goes, Listen, we we we're like committed at this point.
- 27:06SPEAKER_02: We have to go.
- 27:07SPEAKER_02: Yeah, and so we made it happen.
- 27:08SPEAKER_02: We made it happen.
- 27:09Dayna Roselli: Oh, I'm glad you did.
- 27:10Dayna Roselli: And we got to meet you in person.
- 27:12SPEAKER_02: Um, we did, and you guys are so lovely, and I all your listeners should know that you are just the loveliest people.
- 27:17SPEAKER_02: And we said if we live there, we would be friends with you because we want to hang out with you and you are the best.
- 27:22Sean McAllister: Oh, yeah, we're just gonna need to make more trips to LA so that we can uh have some the in-person sit-downs, more happy hours.
- 27:30Sean McAllister: Yeah, anytime.
- 27:31Sean McAllister: Anytime.
- 27:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we enjoy being on KCal every other Thursday morning and interacting with the crew as well.
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: Uh, before we go, you also took one of our food recommendations, didn't you, when you were at RPM?
- 27:42SPEAKER_02: Okay.
- 27:43SPEAKER_02: I ate the first of all, anything in RPM is good.
- 27:46SPEAKER_02: Doesn't matter what you have, um, because we tried everything, but I had the mama, the panties, whatever the bucksini.
- 27:56SPEAKER_02: Yeah, yeah.
- 27:57SPEAKER_02: Amazing.
- 27:58Dayna Roselli: Good.
- 27:59Dayna Roselli: I haven't had it yet, but that is what Juliana recommended when we asked her what should people get.
- 28:04Dayna Roselli: So I was curious.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: I haven't had it yet.
- 28:06Dayna Roselli: It you're saying it's good.
- 28:08SPEAKER_02: It's great.
- 28:09SPEAKER_02: And I am gluten-free, so they made it with gluten-free uh fettuccine for me.
- 28:13Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 28:13SPEAKER_02: Which is and that's homemade as well.
- 28:15SPEAKER_02: Like all our passes are homemade guys.
- 28:17Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 28:18Dayna Roselli: Wow.
- 28:18Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 28:19SPEAKER_02: Everything.
- 28:19Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 28:20Dayna Roselli: Phil, gosh, we're just gonna call you every week and just get an update on anytime.
- 28:26Dayna Roselli: Anytime you did in Las Vegas.
- 28:28Dayna Roselli: Well, you'll have to come back and visit us uh for sure.
- 28:30Dayna Roselli: We'd love to.
- 28:31Dayna Roselli: All right, and we'll see you next week on KCal.
- 28:34Sean McAllister: You got it.
- 28:35Sean McAllister: Excellent.
- 28:36Sean McAllister: Thanks so much, Phil.
- 28:37Sean McAllister: Thanks, guys.
- 28:39Dayna Roselli: And so that's Phil's take.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: Um, we have seen, gosh, one, two, three people that we know recently go.
- 28:45Dayna Roselli: Uh, we've seen it on their Insta stories, and they always write, like, totally worth it.
- 28:50Dayna Roselli: Uh, best show I've ever seen, best production I've ever seen, which is interesting.
- 28:55Dayna Roselli: And it seems like everyone is not regretting buying their ticket.
- 29:00Sean McAllister: Not at all.
- 29:01Sean McAllister: I have not seen a single uh derogatory mark against Adele's show, only glowing reviews.
- 29:09Sean McAllister: So, you know, that's a testament to the vision that Adele stuck to her guns with.
- 29:15Sean McAllister: That's for sure.
- 29:16Dayna Roselli: Hey, a new residency is starting over at Zappos Theater at Planet Hollywood, and that is Keith Urban.
- 29:21Dayna Roselli: So he's played the Coliseum many, many times, but he's moving over to Planet Hollywood, still in the Caesars family.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 29:27Sean McAllister: Keith Urban Live, the Las Vegas residency, uh, is now underway over at Zappos Theater.
- 29:35Sean McAllister: Um, Dana and I are going to the opening night of the residency.
- 29:39Sean McAllister: We're recording before we go.
- 29:41Sean McAllister: Um, but as of right now, as you're listening, the shows are underway.
- 29:47Sean McAllister: You can get your tickets now.
- 29:49Sean McAllister: Uh, there are several show dates throughout the month of March.
- 29:53Sean McAllister: There are more in June, and then one show date uh on the calendar currently for July 1st.
- 30:00Sean McAllister: So basically March and June.
- 30:02Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and I was uh looking at the site and I noticed there's a lot of different packages available.
- 30:06Dayna Roselli: I think there's meet and greets, all that kind of thing.
- 30:08Dayna Roselli: So if you are a Keith Urban fan, which I know it many people are, I have friends all over the country that are always like Keith Urban's the best live.
- 30:16Dayna Roselli: Uh I've never seen him live, so I'm really looking forward to this.
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: I can't wait to see what he's all about.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: Um I'm look really looking forward to it.
- 30:24Dayna Roselli: So I guess I'll talk about that next week.
- 30:26Dayna Roselli: Hey, we're also going to the opening of the Beverly Theater, which is opening in downtown Las Vegas, a new independent film house.
- 30:33Dayna Roselli: And then we'll also be heading to NASCAR on Sunday for the Penzoil 400.
- 30:38Dayna Roselli: And so all that stuff we'll mention next week and let you know how it was.
- 30:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, we've got a packed schedule coming up this weekend.
- 30:45Sean McAllister: Uh, let's get to our tips.
- 30:52Sean McAllister: So, Dana, our first tip this week is a little bit of an update uh to an interview that we brought you last summer here on Vegas Revealed.
- 31:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, we went out.
- 31:04Dayna Roselli: I remember the day it was humid, which is very rare for Las Vegas.
- 31:07Dayna Roselli: But we went out and interviewed the founders and owners of Halo Car.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: It's Halo.car.
- 31:14Dayna Roselli: And I think if you listen to Vegas Revealed for a long time, you may remember.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: If not, it was episode 127.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: Go back.
- 31:22Dayna Roselli: There's a full interview if you want more explanation of how Halo Car works.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: But they started in the downtown area.
- 31:27Dayna Roselli: And basically, you order the car and it comes to you.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 31:32Dayna Roselli: So it eliminates that whole having to wait in line and rent a car, or if you want to, you know, wait for an Uber, um, sometimes the wait can be long.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: So this apparently comes right to you.
- 31:45Dayna Roselli: We did that, it happened.
- 31:46Dayna Roselli: We went for a ride, and it's an electric vehicle, but it's like a direct-to-consumer order.
- 31:52Sean McAllister: Right.
- 31:53Sean McAllister: And then when you're done using the vehicle for the day, you park it in a you know a parking spot.
- 32:01Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 32:02Sean McAllister: Um, you mark that your ride is complete on the website, and then they come and collect the car and take it back to headquarters.
- 32:11Sean McAllister: So it's really easy for consumers.
- 32:13Sean McAllister: Uh, but for the entire month of March, from March 3rd to March 31st, Halo.car is offering free bookings on your first.
- 32:27Sean McAllister: If you're a new customer, you get a free booking with Halo Car for the day.
- 32:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 32:31Dayna Roselli: So it's a like an offer for all new users, which is smart.
- 32:34Dayna Roselli: I'll get people to sign up, right?
- 32:35Dayna Roselli: And start using it and realize if they like it, right?
- 32:38Dayna Roselli: So um, what you're gonna do is go to halo.car backslash bookfor free.
- 32:44Dayna Roselli: Spelled out.
- 32:45Dayna Roselli: Um, this is valued at$96 for a full day.
- 32:48Dayna Roselli: It's available for customers ordering ordering within that delivery zone.
- 32:52Dayna Roselli: So when you go to halo.car backslash book for free, you'll be able to see the zone.
- 32:58Dayna Roselli: And it's a complimentary reservation of up to 24 hours.
- 33:03Dayna Roselli: And so if you want to try this out, now is the time.
- 33:06Dayna Roselli: If you're visiting Las Vegas, if you live in Las Vegas, order up Halo car, it'll come right to you.
- 33:11Dayna Roselli: It's an electric vehicle.
- 33:12Dayna Roselli: You can use it for 24 hours.
- 33:14Dayna Roselli: When you're done, you tell them I'm done, and it goes back on its own back to back to the shop or back to the headquarters.
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: I think it's really cool they're offering this.
- 33:22Dayna Roselli: Now's the time to try it.
- 33:22Sean McAllister: And obviously, a free booking, you can't beat the price of that.
- 33:26Sean McAllister: But even looking at their full day rate of$96 for a normal booking for a full day, right?
- 33:32Sean McAllister: That's I I think that's pretty reasonable.
- 33:35Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 33:35Dayna Roselli: That's a reasonable thing.
- 33:36Sean McAllister: To get a vehicle for a full day, that's not bad.
- 33:39Dayna Roselli: No, because if you had to like order Ubers all around, if you were gonna do like a lot of stops.
- 33:44Dayna Roselli: Oh god, yeah, travel all around, you know what I mean?
- 33:46Dayna Roselli: Like that would really add up.
- 33:48Sean McAllister: Or if you wanted to drive to the Hoover Dam for the day or you know, do a day trip into Arizona somewhere or southern Utah, it's a good option.
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: And you always have to add on tips.
- 33:59Dayna Roselli: So if this comes with no one in it, cars delivered right to you.
- 34:02Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 34:02Dayna Roselli: You don't tip the car, you don't tip the car, avoid the tipping process too.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: Take advantage of the free booking.
- 34:08Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna put a link in our show notes as well.
- 34:11Dayna Roselli: So you can just go to our show notes and click and you'll be able to take a look around.
- 34:15Dayna Roselli: Um, Sean, I was recently on the Las Vegas morning blend.
- 34:20Dayna Roselli: I fill in there sometimes on the ABC affiliate here in Las Vegas, and we interviewed someone and I said, Sean, we need to tell people about this on the podcast because it's a really uh cool new candle company.
- 34:33Dayna Roselli: It's called Speak Easy Candle Company.
- 34:36Dayna Roselli: Oh, and it's located in Uncommons, which is also an area that's fairly new as well.
- 34:41Dayna Roselli: It's over um near Durango and 215 in the southwest part of Las Vegas, kind of near IKEA.
- 34:48Dayna Roselli: Yep, near where Durango station's going.
- 34:50Dayna Roselli: It's got lots of cool stuff over there.
- 34:53Dayna Roselli: There's an Earth Cafe, different shops.
- 34:55Dayna Roselli: Well, Speake Easy Candle Company is one of the shops.
- 34:59Dayna Roselli: And Sean, one of the things that they offer, it's a store in the front, but they also offer like workshops and candle making like lessons and and sessions.
- 35:09Sean McAllister: That's cool.
- 35:10Dayna Roselli: Isn't it?
- 35:10Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 35:11Dayna Roselli: So you go in, you do some candle making, and what they have there is cocktail-inspired candle scents.
- 35:19Dayna Roselli: Okay, so it's like different cocktail names and it smells like that.
- 35:24Dayna Roselli: It's a really fresh smell, though.
- 35:26Dayna Roselli: They they smell delicious.
- 35:27Dayna Roselli: They use these wooden wicks, which apparently burn really clean and nice.
- 35:31Dayna Roselli: Um, and then you can come back in if you make the candles there and refill your candle for 50% off.
- 35:38Dayna Roselli: So there's a lot of things.
- 35:39Dayna Roselli: You can sip some bubbly and set up a workshop.
- 35:41Dayna Roselli: Um, the owner was telling us that if you want to book a big group, they can also get a bartender in for you to make it a little bit more elevated if you really wanted to have like a party.
- 35:52Sean McAllister: Yeah, drink cocktails and make cocktail-scented candles.
- 35:56Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 35:57Dayna Roselli: So it's cool.
- 35:58Dayna Roselli: It's the first one in Las Vegas.
- 36:00Dayna Roselli: Um, they are now open for business.
- 36:02Dayna Roselli: So if that interests you, I know a lot of people do the kind of like the painting and sipping of wine and cocktails.
- 36:07Dayna Roselli: Yep.
- 36:07Dayna Roselli: What is that?
- 36:08Dayna Roselli: Because it's like a well, there's one called Pinot's Palette.
- 36:11Sean McAllister: Yeah, there's Pinot's Palette.
- 36:13Sean McAllister: I think there's a board and brush that has some other like kind of wood signs that you can that you can make.
- 36:18Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 36:19Dayna Roselli: So this is kind of a different thing, you know?
- 36:20Dayna Roselli: Go with some friends, make some candles.
- 36:22Dayna Roselli: Uh, you grab an apron, it says choose your seat, pick a fragrance.
- 36:26Dayna Roselli: They pour the bubbly, and you pour the candle.
- 36:29Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 36:30Sean McAllister: How about that?
- 36:30Sean McAllister: I'm in for this.
- 36:31Sean McAllister: I am excited to go and make a cocktail scented candle.
- 36:36Sean McAllister: Are you surprised by that?
- 36:37Dayna Roselli: No.
- 36:38Sean McAllister: You had me at cocktail.
- 36:39Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know, right?
- 36:40Dayna Roselli: That's all we need is for you to burn these candles in your house and entice you more to go to the fridge.
- 36:45Dayna Roselli: I'll put a link to this business as well in the show notes because I do want people to be able to find it.
- 36:50Dayna Roselli: Or go to the Vegas Near Me app and you can find it in there.
- 36:54Dayna Roselli: Don't download that for free.
- 36:56Dayna Roselli: Use our Vegas Revealed link.
- 36:58Dayna Roselli: That's in our show notes as well.
- 36:59Dayna Roselli: Um, they have, you know, anywhere and everywhere if it's fun to do or see in this app.
- 37:06Dayna Roselli: So it's a great resource.
- 37:07Sean McAllister: Yeah, 16,000 businesses, attractions, restaurants listed in there.
- 37:13Sean McAllister: Um, so it is a terrific resource to have right in your pocket to help guide you through your Las Vegas experience.
- 37:21Sean McAllister: Uh, that's it for this week.
- 37:23Dayna Roselli: I know, and we have a lot coming up.
- 37:24Dayna Roselli: It's definitely a busy time in Las Vegas.
- 37:27Dayna Roselli: March is looking packed.
- 37:28Dayna Roselli: Pool season is here now, really, because March is when it kicks off.
- 37:33Sean McAllister: It is, but it's still snowing.
- 37:35Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 37:35Dayna Roselli: For now.
- 37:37Dayna Roselli: Although this will run on a Saturday, so maybe it won't be anymore.
- 37:40Dayna Roselli: I don't know.
- 37:40Dayna Roselli: But the snow will definitely be in the mountains, right?
- 37:42Dayna Roselli: It will.
- 37:43Dayna Roselli: You can ski up in the mountains and then you can go to the pool down here in the valley.
- 37:47Dayna Roselli: That's what we like about Las Vegas.
- 37:49Dayna Roselli: Have a great week, everyone.
- 37:52SPEAKER_00: The desert sky is cold, but then the eyes will run.
