- 1:41Speaker 1: pre ordered it, so I have it and there's a

- 2:16Speaker 1: like halfway there, halfway through the five Yeah. Well I'm hopeful. Yeah,
- 2:21Speaker 1: I'm daring to dream. I'm manifesting, and thank you for
- 2:24Speaker 1: everything you're doing to help us Records. Okay, before we
- 2:29Speaker 1: get into this episode, Beatrice, did you have any takeaways
- 2:34Speaker 1: from this shit show?
- 2:36Speaker 2: I mean, just the fact that the Browns thought that
- 2:40Speaker 2: they could meet with their friends, the venture capitalists, these
- 2:45Speaker 2: randos from whoever wherever, with nothing prepared, no presentation, no
- 2:52Speaker 2: actual idea of how a business works, how much money
- 2:55Speaker 2: they want to make, what they're selling their products for nothing? Nope, nothing,
- 3:00Speaker 2: And they thought they could just get some like free
- 3:02Speaker 2: advice from these successful business people. I just love to
- 3:05Speaker 2: see you wild. It's just so ridiculous, just wild.
- 3:08Speaker 1: I love it and so delicious. Yeah. Well, my takeaway
- 3:12Speaker 1: is that Machelte has always liked dorks, Like she's married
- 3:17Speaker 1: currently to a dork. And we meet her boyfriend in
- 3:21Speaker 1: this episode, some dude named John such a door, also
- 3:25Speaker 1: a turbo dork, but it was kind of cute. Yeah.
- 3:27Speaker 1: The whole conversation with Cody and Christine was so weird
- 3:32Speaker 1: and we'll get into it. So great, but I thought
- 3:34Speaker 1: that that was interesting. Okay, So without any further ado,
- 3:38Speaker 1: let's get into Season seven of Sister Wives, Episode one entitled.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Mary Drops a Dookie, Mary drops a bomb.
- 3:49Speaker 1: She drops a bomb. She sure does, Oliver Robin and
- 3:53Speaker 1: I love it. Yeah, me too, so good.
- 3:54Speaker 2: But we begin the episode with like a typical brown
- 3:59Speaker 2: chaotic family moment where I guess, like the beginning of
- 4:02Speaker 2: January or the month of January is like super busy
- 4:05Speaker 2: because you have a bunch of birthdays and anniversaries and
- 4:09Speaker 2: all the like. We have Mary and Dayton, I guess
- 4:11Speaker 2: sharing a birthday, which I didn't know. This is the
- 4:14Speaker 2: first time hearing of it, but they share a birthday.
- 4:17Speaker 2: And then we have the adults like meeting to discuss
- 4:21Speaker 2: My sister Wife's closet, their stupid business and how they're
- 4:26Speaker 2: going to meet up with their They keep calling them
- 4:29Speaker 2: their friends, the venture capitalists.
- 4:31Speaker 1: Yeah, but somehow I don't think that those are your friends.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I think their producer plants. We've agreed to be on
- 4:37Speaker 1: a show, and in exchange for their appearance and then
- 4:42Speaker 1: being able to market their company, they're going to sit
- 4:45Speaker 1: down with the dumb Browns and have a very awkward conversation.
- 4:49Speaker 1: But yes, the Browns are using Mary in Dayton's birthday
- 4:52Speaker 1: party to kind of meet and just talk a little
- 4:54Speaker 1: bit about what they need to be ready for this
- 4:57Speaker 1: big meeting next week with Staniny. Such a big meeting,
- 5:01Speaker 1: and none of the Browns have any idea what they're doing.
- 5:05Speaker 1: They're looking for some guidance. Yeah, they definitely want to
- 5:08Speaker 1: pitch My Sister wives closet to some rich people and
- 5:12Speaker 1: hopefully get those people to give them a lot of
- 5:15Speaker 1: money because they think they're creative and that they deserve it,
- 5:19Speaker 1: but they absolutely have nothing. They've got no business plan,
- 5:22Speaker 1: they have no presentation, They've got zilch.
- 5:26Speaker 2: It's crazy to me. It's like, you guys have been
- 5:28Speaker 2: working on this business so hard for the last like
- 5:31Speaker 2: two years, but you have nothing. They give no data
- 5:33Speaker 2: to show for it, you don't have anything typed out,
- 5:36Speaker 2: you don't have a presentation.
- 5:37Speaker 1: Like y'all are crazy. Yeah, But when you think about it,
- 5:42Speaker 1: it's kind of fitting because they've really just chanced themselves
- 5:46Speaker 1: into everything since we've met them. They've chanced themselves into
- 5:50Speaker 1: the rentals, they chance themselves into the cul de sac,
- 5:54Speaker 1: and they chance themselves into all these different opportunities. And
- 5:57Speaker 1: it's not because they intelligently dic It's because I think
- 6:01Speaker 1: TLC in Production is helping them and they're just availing
- 6:04Speaker 1: themselves of all these stupid opportunities. But my sense of
- 6:08Speaker 1: it really was that Robin is huffing her own farts.
- 6:12Speaker 1: I mean, I don't think Christine cares no. My Sister
- 6:16Speaker 1: Wives closet, we established in season six that Janelle has
- 6:20Speaker 1: peaced out, and now we've got Mary like she's going
- 6:24Speaker 1: to start making noises about not wanting to commit to it,
- 6:27Speaker 1: but like Robin really thinks that she's doing something, and
- 6:31Speaker 1: they really believe Beatrice that they can have like a
- 6:34Speaker 1: brick and mortar store, a series of stores across the nation,
- 6:39Speaker 1: which is wild, crazy.
- 6:41Speaker 2: Like how out of touch are you? I mean obviously
- 6:43Speaker 2: so out of touch if you're huffing your own farts,
- 6:45Speaker 2: like your brain is losing oxygen. Yes, you don't understand
- 6:50Speaker 2: real life and what consumers actually want. I mean, like
- 6:53Speaker 2: on paper, I could see something like this working out,
- 6:56Speaker 2: like if you sold clothing, if you sold posters and
- 7:00Speaker 2: stickers and coffee mugs and like shitty like live, laugh love,
- 7:05Speaker 2: you know wallpaper, like you know wall signs and stuff
- 7:08Speaker 2: like that.
- 7:09Speaker 1: No, yeah, you're.
- 7:10Speaker 2: Selling shitty jewelry for hundreds of dollars a bop. It's wild,
- 7:16Speaker 2: and then you have nothing to show for it. I
- 7:18Speaker 2: think it's because, well, I think they thought they would
- 7:21Speaker 2: be successful with this, because they were successful with the
- 7:24Speaker 2: TLC show, and like they could work their way into
- 7:27Speaker 2: a really sick deal with TLC at this time, you know,
- 7:30Speaker 2: in the twenty tens and everything, and they thought, you
- 7:33Speaker 2: know what, we could totally leverage this and make a
- 7:36Speaker 2: bunch of money on a jewelry store. Sucks to suck.
- 7:40Speaker 1: It does suck to suck. I just can't believe that
- 7:42Speaker 1: they thought they would ever be successful, especially since in
- 7:45Speaker 1: season six we have them going to these expos and
- 7:49Speaker 1: at the expos with their boots on the ground, people
- 7:52Speaker 1: are telling them like it's too expensive. People aren't buying
- 7:55Speaker 1: your merchandise, and I can't imagine even with the website
- 7:58Speaker 1: in season seven, are actually going up on My sister
- 8:02Speaker 1: wife closet and buying a lot of things. So like,
- 8:05Speaker 1: that's the universe telling you that this is a bad idea, Robin.
- 8:09Speaker 1: But she's working so hard. Oh pah, my god, I
- 8:12Speaker 1: can't have a baby because I have so much to do.
- 8:16Speaker 2: We'll get up, I literally can't. But after their little
- 8:21Speaker 2: discussion of My Sister wives closet, then we have like
- 8:23Speaker 2: this segment where Cody is of course at Robin's house
- 8:27Speaker 2: and he's like tucking in all of Robin's kids to bed,
- 8:31Speaker 2: which I just thought weird a little bit. I mean,
- 8:35Speaker 2: I know that these are his kids or whatever, and
- 8:39Speaker 2: he loves them and whatnot, but I'm just like, do
- 8:42Speaker 2: you do that? To all your other kids.
- 8:43Speaker 1: That's what I was wondering. And I also was thinking
- 8:46Speaker 1: about the kids watching these seasons back, because I think
- 8:50Speaker 1: it's about now where he really starts separating himselves from
- 8:54Speaker 1: all of the other homes, and certainly the other wives
- 8:57Speaker 1: and those kids. I'm sure saw and felt that. Oh
- 9:00Speaker 1: And so then to watch this back where he's tucking
- 9:03Speaker 1: in all of Robin's kids and Dayton, I'm just like, oh, I.
- 9:07Speaker 2: Just think, like the audacity, but you don't do that
- 9:10Speaker 2: to any of your other children, Like it's just wild
- 9:13Speaker 2: fucking truly was a kidney failure and you didn't even
- 9:16Speaker 2: notice her care But okay, let's go ahead and tuck
- 9:19Speaker 2: in sweet Aurora and Brianna and King Solomon and Dayton
- 9:23Speaker 2: to bed every night and talk about how much you
- 9:26Speaker 2: love them. And then, speaking of Dayton, we have this
- 9:28Speaker 2: weird segment where Cody's like, well, I don't think Dayton
- 9:31Speaker 2: has aspergers.
- 9:33Speaker 1: Yeah, which was controversial probably at the time, right, I
- 9:38Speaker 1: don't know, controversial, and it's definitely now it's controversial in
- 9:42Speaker 1: twenty twenty five. But like I was like, what are
- 9:44Speaker 1: you talking about. You're not a doctor. And Robin's sitting
- 9:46Speaker 1: there saying I've done all the tests. I mean, I've
- 9:50Speaker 1: put him in front of doctors. No, he's got aspergers,
- 9:53Speaker 1: but they're trying to establish that he's a great kid.
- 9:56Speaker 1: He's not like the other kids. And at some point
- 9:58Speaker 1: Cody even says, I actually feel closer to Dayton than
- 10:01Speaker 1: I do do a lot of my other kids. Yikes, Like,
- 10:04Speaker 1: oh so it's already happening.
- 10:05Speaker 2: It's already happening. I just don't understand how you like
- 10:09Speaker 2: can do this with good conscience, Like as a parent,
- 10:12Speaker 2: you have all of these other children like that didn't
- 10:14Speaker 2: ask to be born. You know, I can understand falling
- 10:17Speaker 2: out of love with the wives and stuff, I guess,
- 10:19Speaker 2: but like the children though, Okay, Dayton's my favorite.
- 10:23Speaker 1: Basically, maybe he's telling himself that he needs to make
- 10:26Speaker 1: up for a lost time with her three kids because
- 10:30Speaker 1: the other kids, his bio kids with the other three wives,
- 10:33Speaker 1: you know, had all that time with him, but these
- 10:35Speaker 1: kids didn't. I don't know, like, is he maybe not
- 10:38Speaker 1: noticing that he's favoring Robin and his kids? Is he
- 10:41Speaker 1: not thinking about it at this time? But I think
- 10:43Speaker 1: that he's got to be because I think at least
- 10:45Speaker 1: Christine is mentioning it, and I think Mary is probably
- 10:48Speaker 1: mentioning it too. Mary and Cody's relationship is falling apart. Oh,
- 10:53Speaker 1: Like we get into this scene with them in a
- 10:55Speaker 1: little bit, and I'm just like, what has happened just
- 10:57Speaker 1: since the last season, season six, because there's some problems
- 11:02Speaker 1: here in this relationship.
- 11:03Speaker 2: Hardcore problems and like speaking of like Cody's favoritism with
- 11:08Speaker 2: Dayton already starting, like for his birthday, he takes him
- 11:11Speaker 2: out go karting, and that's another thing where it's like,
- 11:14Speaker 2: how like are you doing that with your other children? Though,
- 11:17Speaker 2: like I thought money was tight and you couldn't afford
- 11:20Speaker 2: to do all of these things, Like I doubt. I
- 11:22Speaker 2: think you're probably just giving all of your other kids
- 11:24Speaker 2: like a birthday card, maybe like a birthday dinner or something,
- 11:28Speaker 2: but nothing cool like go kart raising. It's just wild.
- 11:32Speaker 2: And then we get to Cody's celebration with Mary for
- 11:36Speaker 2: her birthday, and like, I feel like his birthday gift
- 11:40Speaker 2: is just him straightening his hair so he looks like
- 11:42Speaker 2: Keith Urpen and it's a gift of his presence. I'm
- 11:46Speaker 2: gonna spend this time with you when I actually hardly
- 11:49Speaker 2: ever spend any time with you because Leon's gone, it's
- 11:51Speaker 2: just you in this haunted house, and I guess we'll
- 11:55Speaker 2: spend two hours together with the cameras there. Yeah, that's
- 11:58Speaker 2: exactly what it is. And his ridiculous hair, and Mary's like,
- 12:01Speaker 2: oh my god, it's so sweet because I'm such a
- 12:04Speaker 2: Keith Urban Mega fan. And I'm like, are your priority
- 12:07Speaker 2: or like, are your uh what's the set the word standards? Yeah,
- 12:10Speaker 2: for your standards? This fucking low that you would accept.
- 12:13Speaker 2: This is like a birthday get Oh my god, my
- 12:15Speaker 2: husband straightened his hair and he looks absolutely ridiculous.
- 12:18Speaker 1: Yeah, the answer is yes, wow, Yeah, her standards are low.
- 12:22Speaker 1: And by this time, I don't think that they're copulating.
- 12:25Speaker 1: They're not intimate. She's trying to find a way where
- 12:28Speaker 1: she can reconnect with him. It's not working. So now
- 12:32Speaker 1: she's looking for other interests that she can sink herself
- 12:34Speaker 1: into because she's being rejected and neglected by Cody.
- 12:37Speaker 2: God, I just can't believe it. Like no wonder she's
- 12:40Speaker 2: on her campaign of like worrying up because you can
- 12:42Speaker 2: see it now. It's like you have no self worth
- 12:45Speaker 2: or love for yourself or like respect for yourself and
- 12:47Speaker 2: your marriage that you would accept this, it's like literally mediocre.
- 12:52Speaker 2: I mean, I guess you go dancing afterwards, yeah, okay,
- 12:56Speaker 2: but nothing else.
- 12:57Speaker 1: But if she gets nothing normally than it probably is
- 13:01Speaker 1: a big deal to do those things. I don't know.
- 13:04Speaker 2: It's just sad justice for Mary, I mean for real.
- 13:07Speaker 2: But at their dinner, at her birthday dinner, she decides
- 13:10Speaker 2: to talk business and talk about her life, and She's like,
- 13:12Speaker 2: I got something really important to tell you, Cody. I
- 13:15Speaker 2: really want to go back to school because you know
- 13:17Speaker 2: what my sister wrives, closet is not my dream. And
- 13:20Speaker 2: Cody's like, yeah, cool, bet, go back to school. I
- 13:23Speaker 2: don't care. Some way, I don't have to talk to
- 13:24Speaker 2: you again. Probably will be saying. But he knows that
- 13:28Speaker 2: Robin is going to be super unhappy about it. And
- 13:31Speaker 2: when we get to the end of the episode, she
- 13:33Speaker 2: is very unhappy and.
- 13:34Speaker 1: Bad, very unhappy. But my question watching this was like,
- 13:39Speaker 1: how come this is all of a sudden Mary's dream,
- 13:43Speaker 1: Like I don't recall her ever mentioning even once that
- 13:46Speaker 1: she wanted to go back to school. She never talked
- 13:49Speaker 1: about her schooling, Like she kind of starts to talk
- 13:51Speaker 1: about it in this episode where she says that she
- 13:53Speaker 1: started college and then she kind of segues into and
- 13:57Speaker 1: I was also working with at risk youth and I
- 14:00Speaker 1: really loved that job. But then I was let go
- 14:03Speaker 1: because of my lifestyle and I never got to go
- 14:06Speaker 1: back to school. I'm not sure how those two things connected. Yeah,
- 14:10Speaker 1: because I thought that she was let go from her job.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Like around season one, I thought, so was she in college?
- 14:19Speaker 1: And season it doesn't make it. They're always lying, yeah,
- 14:21Speaker 1: they're literally always lying. But now she's trying to present
- 14:25Speaker 1: to the viewing audience us that this has been her
- 14:28Speaker 1: lifelong dream to go to university and to help at
- 14:32Speaker 1: risk youth. And I'm like, Okay, is this just a
- 14:34Speaker 1: convenient excuse for you to bow out of my sister
- 14:39Speaker 1: wife's closet, Because that's fair. For sure, I totally support that,
- 14:43Speaker 1: because it's a losing game and it's never gonna make
- 14:46Speaker 1: any money and you're gonna be wasting your time. But like,
- 14:48Speaker 1: just say it, though, yeah, I don't want to do it.
- 14:50Speaker 2: That's the problem with Mary. It's like it's always the
- 14:52Speaker 2: subtext of shit, and it's like, maybe it's because you
- 14:55Speaker 2: wanted to get out of my sister wives closet. Maybe
- 14:57Speaker 2: it's because you're lost in your marriage and in your life.
- 15:00Speaker 2: You're an empty nester and you're alone forever because Cody
- 15:02Speaker 2: doesn't want nothing to do with you. Like maybe that's
- 15:05Speaker 2: what it is, and that sucks, but like, just try
- 15:09Speaker 2: to be real with yourself. But she can't.
- 15:10Speaker 1: She's not an authentic person at all. She's also not
- 15:13Speaker 1: a brave person at least in these seasons. Like she
- 15:16Speaker 1: can't just sit down across from Robin and to say,
- 15:18Speaker 1: I don't want to do it, it's not my thing,
- 15:20Speaker 1: it's not working, this suck.
- 15:22Speaker 2: I'm out.
- 15:22Speaker 1: Yeah, she can't do it because she doesn't have the
- 15:24Speaker 1: courage to do it right. It's so frustrating.
- 15:28Speaker 2: But then we shift gears and we have a kind
- 15:31Speaker 2: of Birds and the Bees talk with Michelt and.
- 15:34Speaker 1: Her door fringe cringe, cringe.
- 15:38Speaker 2: Door goo boyfriend John. We have Christine and Cody talking
- 15:43Speaker 2: to them about fourign a caton kissing and apparently, according
- 15:47Speaker 2: to Cody, you shouldn't kiss because if you kiss, your
- 15:52Speaker 2: hormones will transfer to the other person and then you'll
- 15:55Speaker 2: want to fuck, and.
- 15:56Speaker 1: Then all of a sudden, your pussy's gonna activate and
- 15:59Speaker 1: his is gonna activate, You're gonna start putting it in,
- 16:03Speaker 1: You're gonna start having babies. Yeah, it's like And then
- 16:06Speaker 1: there was the weird comment that he made about God,
- 16:09Speaker 1: like I don't know why God has us go through
- 16:12Speaker 1: puy puberty at fourteen years old, but like not able
- 16:15Speaker 1: to do anything about it until twenty four years old.
- 16:18Speaker 1: I'm like, ew the fuck does that me? Please say less?
- 16:23Speaker 1: What are you talking about? Why are we talking about
- 16:25Speaker 1: kids and puberty and sex?
- 16:28Speaker 2: I'm like, please stop. Yeah, and we don't need to
- 16:31Speaker 2: have this conversation on national TV. But I guess you
- 16:34Speaker 2: guys are so desperate for content that we're going to
- 16:37Speaker 2: embarrass your teenage daughter and her new boyfriend on TV. Like,
- 16:41Speaker 2: you know, if I was John, I would have broke
- 16:42Speaker 2: up with McKelty after this and be like, dude, your
- 16:45Speaker 2: family's weird.
- 16:45Speaker 1: I'm sure she he probably does. Do we ever see
- 16:49Speaker 1: John again? But there's something about this Beatrice that really
- 16:52Speaker 1: bothers me because I hate putting Cody in the position
- 16:57Speaker 1: of being some sort of moral authority about sex and
- 17:00Speaker 1: relationships when the reality is is that you have three
- 17:04Speaker 1: mistresses and you have one preferred mistress that you bang
- 17:07Speaker 1: all the time, and you are actively neglecting your children
- 17:10Speaker 1: and your wives, even in season seven, exactly like you're
- 17:13Speaker 1: gonna sit down with these two youth with like these
- 17:16Speaker 1: brains that are not formed yet, You're gonna try and
- 17:18Speaker 1: tell them how to best live their lives when you're
- 17:20Speaker 1: a cheating ass ho in a cult straight up.
- 17:24Speaker 2: And when he's going on his tangent about why kissing
- 17:27Speaker 2: is bad and it leads to nothing but badness and sin,
- 17:31Speaker 2: you have the older kids on the couch and you
- 17:33Speaker 2: have Leon being like, so you can't kiss, but you
- 17:36Speaker 2: can have sex though, like that's what that means, And
- 17:38Speaker 2: everyone starts laughing because it's like, this is why your
- 17:41Speaker 2: logic makes so fucking sense.
- 17:42Speaker 1: They're making fun of their fathers, yes rightly, so, Yes,
- 17:45Speaker 1: it's ridiculous.
- 17:47Speaker 2: And you make a great point about him with his
- 17:49Speaker 2: polygamous lifestyle. You know him and Robin were doing it
- 17:51Speaker 2: in the butt. At least.
- 17:55Speaker 1: I wasn't thinking about that was the particular moment, but
- 17:59Speaker 1: I guess I wouldn't doubt. But then we also have
- 18:01Speaker 1: him with Janelle in this episode, and you could feel
- 18:03Speaker 1: the sexual vibes. Maybe so he has whatever woman he
- 18:07Speaker 1: wants whenever he wants them, and he's just not the
- 18:12Speaker 1: arbiter of how to conduct yourself in a relationship. That's
- 18:15Speaker 1: just all I'm going to say.
- 18:16Speaker 2: I agree with you one hundred percent. And then we
- 18:19Speaker 2: go to Mary and Cody at Mary's house where they
- 18:22Speaker 2: discuss the Lehigh House because they still own it.
- 18:25Speaker 1: Yeah, so this came out of left field. What did
- 18:29Speaker 1: you think about this? This was weird?
- 18:31Speaker 2: Yeah, because their dynamic was really not good, like all.
- 18:36Speaker 2: So the whole issue is that they still own the
- 18:39Speaker 2: Lee High House and they're trying to sell it, but
- 18:41Speaker 2: they're having a difficult time doing that because it's built
- 18:44Speaker 2: for polygamous families, which is a big no no in
- 18:47Speaker 2: Utah because it's still illegal at the time. And now
- 18:50Speaker 2: they're trying to figure out a way to remodel the
- 18:54Speaker 2: house while they still own it, so that way they
- 18:57Speaker 2: can hopefully sell it for a profit because right now
- 18:59Speaker 2: it's just kind of hemorrhaging money apparently, and Cody says
- 19:02Speaker 2: it's an albatross around their necks. So Cody, from what
- 19:06Speaker 2: I gathered from this conversation with Mary, is he put
- 19:09Speaker 2: the task on Mary to figure out the contractor to
- 19:14Speaker 2: figure out how to remodel shit to take care of everything.
- 19:18Speaker 2: Mary brings him some designs that the contractor drew up
- 19:23Speaker 2: really quick, and she tries to discuss it with Cody,
- 19:25Speaker 2: and Cody's like, these designs suck ass, They're not to scale.
- 19:29Speaker 2: We need to have a better contractor because this is
- 19:31Speaker 2: bullshit and basically everything that you did is trash. And
- 19:36Speaker 2: Mary gets really defensive here, and this is where we
- 19:38Speaker 2: have this like weird.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Argument between them.
- 19:42Speaker 2: I don't know, this was odd to me.
- 19:44Speaker 1: Yeah, so I didn't really understand how we got into
- 19:48Speaker 1: the tension because I saw Mary present the plans and
- 19:51Speaker 1: she kind of explained what the contractor was talking about.
- 19:55Speaker 1: Then I saw Cody kind of rebut and say, well,
- 19:58Speaker 1: those plans are kind of jinky. I don't really under
- 20:00Speaker 1: stand where they want to put this wall and it's
- 20:02Speaker 1: not really drawn in the right place. And so if
- 20:05Speaker 1: I don't understand this, am I gonna have to drive
- 20:06Speaker 1: up to Utah? Like this doesn't work? And that's fair,
- 20:10Speaker 1: Like that's valid. But immediately Mary gets very upset and
- 20:14Speaker 1: she starts to get super emotional, and she's like, well,
- 20:17Speaker 1: I guess I just guess I don't know what I'm doing.
- 20:20Speaker 1: Then I guess I shouldn't be the one in charge
- 20:23Speaker 1: of this, And I'm like, pump your brakes a little bit.
- 20:26Speaker 1: I think Cody is giving a valid critique not even
- 20:28Speaker 1: of view but of the contractor, but she's taking it
- 20:32Speaker 1: turbo personally, and it's because there's just a world of
- 20:37Speaker 1: subtext happening here. Like I think Mary wanted Cody to
- 20:41Speaker 1: be proud of her for taking the initiative and actually
- 20:44Speaker 1: talking to contractors and having a plan, which was jankie though, Yeah,
- 20:48Speaker 1: And he didn't come with the energy of like honoring
- 20:51Speaker 1: the work that she had done immediately, and so she
- 20:54Speaker 1: just got really emotional, Like she starts to cry. They
- 20:58Speaker 1: start to like throw barbs at each other and be
- 21:02Speaker 1: passive aggressive, and I'm like, guys, I know, so what's
- 21:04Speaker 1: really happening like and what has really happened in the
- 21:07Speaker 1: last few months. So Leon has gone off to Westminster, Mary,
- 21:11Speaker 1: You've been rambling around in your five bedroom home with
- 21:14Speaker 1: the wet bar. Cody's not coming over. You're trying to
- 21:18Speaker 1: prove yourself to him. Is that what you're doing in
- 21:19Speaker 1: this moment? And he's just blowing you off. But like
- 21:22Speaker 1: I didn't understand where her feelings were coming from personally.
- 21:27Speaker 2: Yeah, I feel like there's something going on that we
- 21:29Speaker 2: don't know, like maybe it was edited out or they
- 21:32Speaker 2: just didn't express it or anything. But like, I'm wondering
- 21:35Speaker 2: if Cody tasked her with taking care of the Lee
- 21:39Speaker 2: High House, because we know Cody doesn't want to do
- 21:41Speaker 2: Jack Diddley squat about anything. He doesn't want to manage
- 21:44Speaker 2: a business, he doesn't even want to manage his family.
- 21:46Speaker 2: He doesn't want to do anything that doesn't involve him
- 21:49Speaker 2: banging Robin's back out. So I feel like he told Mary, like, hey,
- 21:54Speaker 2: take care of this shit at the Lee High House,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and so then she tries. But maybe she doesn't have
- 21:58Speaker 2: the knowledge. She's never dealt with contractors. She doesn't know
- 22:01Speaker 2: what the fuck she's doing, because she says that multiple
- 22:03Speaker 2: times in this conversation, like I don't know what I'm doing,
- 22:06Speaker 2: And she.
- 22:06Speaker 1: Was saying that like earnestly, she was saying that passive aggressively,
- 22:10Speaker 1: like oh, I guess I don't know what the f
- 22:12Speaker 1: I'm talking about.
- 22:13Speaker 2: Well, and I think that might be because Cody's telling
- 22:16Speaker 2: her to do all this shit, she doesn't know what
- 22:18Speaker 2: to do. So she tries to do what she can
- 22:20Speaker 2: and then Cody's shitting all over it. And it's like
- 22:23Speaker 2: Cody makes his passive aggressive comment, We'll like, well, do
- 22:26Speaker 2: I have to go to Utah to get some shit
- 22:28Speaker 2: done around this fucking Leehigh House? Like he says that yeah,
- 22:31Speaker 2: and Mary's like, well, I think that's why she gets defensive.
- 22:34Speaker 2: And they're not like hearing each other obviously, because Cody's
- 22:37Speaker 2: a piece of shit. Mary's also very defensive and passive.
- 22:40Speaker 1: Aggressive, emotional cripple. Well, it's like she cannot say she
- 22:43Speaker 1: can't actually express herself and say, can you just like
- 22:46Speaker 1: calm down a little bit, because if I need to
- 22:48Speaker 1: contact the contractors, I can, but like, can we discuss
- 22:51Speaker 1: the design, like the next steps that I can take?
- 22:53Speaker 1: Like she could also communicate effectively, But she's just such
- 22:58Speaker 1: an emotionally volatile person. And that's the conversation I want
- 23:03Speaker 1: to have, like why are we so tense right now?
- 23:06Speaker 1: What has been going on for the last few months?
- 23:08Speaker 1: What are you feeling? Mary? And that's the problem with
- 23:11Speaker 1: Mary is she never actually shares what's happening in her
- 23:14Speaker 1: life because they're always lying and she's never honest about
- 23:18Speaker 1: her feelings. And so fast forward in the timeline to
- 23:21Speaker 1: twenty twenty five, when she's conducting seminars for hashtag Worthy
- 23:24Speaker 1: Up and I'm like, how do we trust you because
- 23:27Speaker 1: you don't seem emotionally intelligent. Even now, you're still defending Cody. Yeah,
- 23:32Speaker 1: you're still putting down your other wives who had traumatic experiences.
- 23:35Speaker 1: You're still emotionally repressed.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Yep.
- 23:38Speaker 1: And it's not that she doesn't have valid things to say, Beatrice,
- 23:41Speaker 1: it's just that she cannot be trusted to say anything truthful.
- 23:45Speaker 2: Honestly, I agree with you because that's the problem. Like
- 23:47Speaker 2: when you live a life where you're not expressing how
- 23:50Speaker 2: you actually feel, like you're just gonna bury all that
- 23:53Speaker 2: down and then what do you spew out? Passive, aggressive, bullshit, defensiveness,
- 23:58Speaker 2: inauthentic express essions of how you feel like and you're
- 24:01Speaker 2: not being truthful, like yeah, why would anybody trust you?
- 24:04Speaker 2: And like not to give Cody any grace or anything,
- 24:08Speaker 2: But it's like, how can you have a conversation with
- 24:10Speaker 2: somebody who is reacting.
- 24:12Speaker 1: Exactly like I think he was trying to actually talk
- 24:16Speaker 1: to her, and yeah, he was being a piece of
- 24:18Speaker 1: shit about it and a bit of a no at all.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I don't know if he's being mean in my life.
- 24:21Speaker 1: I just feel like he was being a no at
- 24:22Speaker 1: all and he wasn't giving her like the props for
- 24:26Speaker 1: doing the work that she had done, but like his
- 24:28Speaker 1: points were valid and she was completely unable to take
- 24:33Speaker 1: any criticism. And he's just like, what's happening? Why are
- 24:35Speaker 1: you getting like this? And so then they start to
- 24:38Speaker 1: fight well, and.
- 24:39Speaker 2: It's like on the couch. When he says that too,
- 24:41Speaker 2: he's like, I don't understand what the problem is here.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Mary's response is, well, we're missing each other. I don't
- 24:46Speaker 2: know how to make you understand, no, the way you
- 24:49Speaker 2: make somebody understand work, talk, use your word, express it.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Like if anybody needs a couple's therapy in this family,
- 24:56Speaker 2: it's these people because they don't know how to talk
- 24:58Speaker 2: to each other. And I don't think they ever really did.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Maybe that's what Cody means when he talks about it
- 25:03Speaker 2: in their later seasons, where he's like, I don't know
- 25:06Speaker 2: what to do with Mary because she's it's like walking
- 25:09Speaker 2: on eggshells with her. It's like one minute she's fine,
- 25:12Speaker 2: the next minute she's mad. I can kind of see it.
- 25:14Speaker 1: I can see it as well, but.
- 25:15Speaker 2: She doesn't know how to talk. Right. So this whole
- 25:18Speaker 2: situation was really interesting to see on camera because I
- 25:20Speaker 2: know it's like, it's not something you see very often
- 25:23Speaker 2: with this family because they try to keep everything like
- 25:25Speaker 2: behind closed doors and under this like weird facade. But
- 25:29Speaker 2: like just having this come out, I'm like, damn, y'all
- 25:32Speaker 2: are suffering.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Things are bad in the cul de sac.
- 25:34Speaker 2: Things are really bad. But you know what's not bad
- 25:37Speaker 2: Cody and Janelle's relationship.
- 25:40Speaker 1: I guess this is the renaissance that we've been talking
- 25:42Speaker 1: about this entire time. There's some sexual vibrations that are
- 25:46Speaker 1: happening here.
- 25:47Speaker 2: Yes, it's crazy. So it's their twenty first anniversary, and
- 25:50Speaker 2: so they're going out to celebrate, and of course Cody's
- 25:53Speaker 2: gift to Janelle is wearing his hair and a ponytail, right,
- 25:56Speaker 2: that's right, Just like, okay, this is what they wives
- 26:00Speaker 2: get is just your presence and you styling their hair,
- 26:04Speaker 2: your hair differently for them.
- 26:05Speaker 1: Okay, cool.
- 26:06Speaker 2: But they go out to dinner and they agree to
- 26:08Speaker 2: not talk about business. They just want to keep it romantic.
- 26:12Speaker 2: Cody expresses, I think in his talking head that they've
- 26:15Speaker 2: actually come to a more romantic place in their marriage
- 26:17Speaker 2: because apparently up until this point, they had just been
- 26:21Speaker 2: friends and fuck buddies.
- 26:23Speaker 1: I guess, well, Janelle's like we were just kind of existing.
- 26:26Speaker 1: I think that previous to the show, they were just
- 26:28Speaker 1: trying to manage a family with very little money. And
- 26:31Speaker 1: so she's working, he's working, and they're two ships that
- 26:34Speaker 1: are missing themselves in the night. But now that they're
- 26:36Speaker 1: in the cul de sac, they're having this space to reconnect.
- 26:41Speaker 1: And he mentions that she's looking real good working with
- 26:44Speaker 1: that personal trainer. Your body Addioddi is looking pretty flag.
- 26:48Speaker 1: I mean she is, though, she looks wonderful.
- 26:50Speaker 2: She looks great, her hair's on fleak.
- 26:53Speaker 1: They go to the restaurant, it's like a nice, dimly lit,
- 26:56Speaker 1: yeah restaurant, and he like makes this declaration of love
- 27:00Speaker 1: to her, and I was just like, damn, I've never
- 27:03Speaker 1: heard him speak about any of the wives except Robin
- 27:05Speaker 1: this way. And he's like, I love you, I am
- 27:08Speaker 1: in love with you, I love this time in our life.
- 27:12Speaker 1: We are romantic, and he was like really feeling her,
- 27:16Speaker 1: you know. I was like, oh my god, these people
- 27:18Speaker 1: are into each other.
- 27:19Speaker 2: It's kind of crazy to see because we've been hearing
- 27:21Speaker 2: this in season nineteen and eighteen and everything Renaissance in
- 27:25Speaker 2: Las Vegas, and now we're starting to see in the
- 27:27Speaker 2: beginning of it. And then they come home and it's
- 27:30Speaker 2: late and they put the kids to bed, and Cody's like, hege, no,
- 27:34Speaker 2: let's go to.
- 27:34Speaker 1: Our kind of tired. Don't you want to go to.
- 27:37Speaker 2: Bed A little sucky sucky?
- 27:38Speaker 1: Yea. I know. It's like, damn, they're gonna go and
- 27:42Speaker 1: have sex. They're going to have sex allegedly, good for
- 27:46Speaker 1: you to know, I mean, if it was any good,
- 27:48Speaker 1: but I mean, based on Christine's book Girl, he's not
- 27:51Speaker 1: a great lover. We'll get to that in the app
- 27:53Speaker 1: We get to that in the app show.
- 27:56Speaker 2: And then we have Robin at her house. She's pretending
- 28:00Speaker 2: that she is so disheveled and overwhelmed. She's like, I
- 28:04Speaker 2: gotta have a talk with col.
- 28:05Speaker 1: Like Cody just walks into the house from banging Janelle's backup.
- 28:10Speaker 1: He walks over to Robin's house, opens the door, and
- 28:13Speaker 1: she's like, Cody, I have to talk to you. It's
- 28:16Speaker 1: really important, and then takes him away into the bathroom
- 28:20Speaker 1: or whatever and starts to have this very serious conversation
- 28:24Speaker 1: about how she's working really hard. I don't think you
- 28:26Speaker 1: got it. I don't think anybody understands what I am
- 28:30Speaker 1: doing for my sister wife's closet. And so she tries
- 28:34Speaker 1: to tell him that there's just no way I'm going
- 28:36Speaker 1: to be able to have another child if I'm working
- 28:39Speaker 1: this hard, which felt to me like this is a
- 28:43Speaker 1: conversation they have been having, and Cody has probably let
- 28:48Speaker 1: her know that he'd love to have another kid, and
- 28:50Speaker 1: she's like, absolutely, Papa, But now she's holding this over
- 28:55Speaker 1: his head, like I'm not going to be able to
- 28:56Speaker 1: give you a kid unless we get an injection of
- 29:00Speaker 1: money from some venture capitalist, or I get an assistant
- 29:04Speaker 1: or whatever Markan do art.
- 29:06Speaker 2: It's just so crazy to me because we know it
- 29:08Speaker 2: this time. She's got I think, like her sister watching
- 29:11Speaker 2: her kids all the time, or maybe she's got a
- 29:12Speaker 2: nanny at this point, but like, you're not doing jack shit.
- 29:15Speaker 1: She's designing Beatrice.
- 29:17Speaker 2: Oh my god, I just can't. I Like, I screamed,
- 29:21Speaker 2: because I'm just like, you really think we're gonna buy
- 29:24Speaker 2: this story that you've been working so hard.
- 29:27Speaker 1: So she thinks that she's been working so hardly, sitting
- 29:30Speaker 1: down with her sketch book, working out infinite hearts and trees,
- 29:35Speaker 1: and she's like, look at the work product. I'm the talent.
- 29:39Speaker 1: I'm the creative. Everybody else needs to be setting up
- 29:42Speaker 1: the expos and doing all the admin stuff because I'm working.
- 29:45Speaker 1: That's exactly hard.
- 29:47Speaker 2: That's exactly And of course Cody is like one hundred
- 29:50Speaker 2: percent attentive to Robin and her knees and he's like,
- 29:52Speaker 2: oh my god, I was shocked by this conversation. But
- 29:55Speaker 2: I know exactly what she needs. I know exactly what
- 29:58Speaker 2: she means, and yeah, we do need this, dick, continue this, dick,
- 30:03Speaker 2: this investers. We need to get this ship going to
- 30:07Speaker 2: the way. My sweet Robin is less overwhelmed. God forbid
- 30:11Speaker 2: though that, like Christine and Janelle and Mary all have
- 30:14Speaker 2: their own problem.
- 30:15Speaker 1: Fuck then, yeah, Robin, right.
- 30:17Speaker 2: She is stressed and we got to help her out.
- 30:20Speaker 1: With a problem that she created and then started demanding
- 30:24Speaker 1: that everybody feed into. Yeah, and they've done as much
- 30:29Speaker 1: as they're willing to do. And now you're mad about it.
- 30:32Speaker 1: And you're about to get even more mad about it
- 30:34Speaker 1: because here comes Mary wanting to go back to college,
- 30:37Speaker 1: and she comes very with her dreams. She's got her
- 30:39Speaker 1: own dreams. Robin is that okay, No, it is not,
- 30:43Speaker 1: it's not okay.
- 30:44Speaker 2: But before we even get to that, we have the
- 30:46Speaker 2: freaking venture capitalist meeting. And this was so hard to watch.
- 30:53Speaker 2: It was so so delicious, well because it's like so
- 30:56Speaker 2: cringey to watch them like completely crash and burn in
- 30:59Speaker 2: front of these like business people that are probably moderately successful.
- 31:04Speaker 2: They're acting like they're like Wall Street professionals. They act
- 31:08Speaker 2: like they're so like big business, rolling in the dough
- 31:10Speaker 2: and everything, but they're just probably like mortgage brokers or something.
- 31:13Speaker 1: Can I ask you a question, what do you think
- 31:16Speaker 1: that Cody and his wives were thinking before they went
- 31:20Speaker 1: into that meeting. Were they thinking that they were going
- 31:23Speaker 1: to be taken very seriously? What were they expecting from
- 31:27Speaker 1: this meeting? Because Janelle comes out of it embarrassed.
- 31:29Speaker 2: Oh yeah, for sure. I think they were all thinking
- 31:32Speaker 2: that they were just going to get advice. I don't
- 31:34Speaker 2: think they understood what a meeting like this would entail,
- 31:38Speaker 2: what would have been expected of them. I think they
- 31:41Speaker 2: thought that they had like good ideas and stuff, but
- 31:44Speaker 2: I don't think they know how to run a business obviously,
- 31:47Speaker 2: because they don't know. Like it's like the people on
- 31:49Speaker 2: Shark of the actual show Shark Tank that come on
- 31:52Speaker 2: with like a poster board like presentation, and the Shark
- 31:56Speaker 2: Tank people laugh in their face, like what are you
- 31:58Speaker 2: doing here? If you want our money, you have to
- 32:01Speaker 2: show us that you have a successful, ish business. But
- 32:05Speaker 2: they just think that they're going to get free business advice,
- 32:07Speaker 2: which I'm just like, you could literally google it right
- 32:10Speaker 2: like at this time, you could totally google it. YouTube
- 32:13Speaker 2: was existing back then well and.
- 32:15Speaker 1: As just a sidebar, Like I owned a successful business,
- 32:20Speaker 1: I would say I don't have it anymore. But at
- 32:24Speaker 1: the time, I remember like a lot of my friends
- 32:28Speaker 1: and peers would want to just like buy me a
- 32:30Speaker 1: coffee and pick my brain, like, well, can you tell
- 32:34Speaker 1: me how you run your program step by step by step,
- 32:37Speaker 1: like wanted to take an hour out of my day
- 32:39Speaker 1: and like learn all of my trade secrets that it
- 32:42Speaker 1: could then steal it and start their own program or
- 32:44Speaker 1: do whatever they were going to be doing. And I'm
- 32:46Speaker 1: just like, my time is valuable, not just to my
- 32:51Speaker 1: work and the people that I work with, but like
- 32:53Speaker 1: it's worth something and it's like for me to sit
- 32:55Speaker 1: down with you at a table and share like the
- 32:59Speaker 1: secrets of my success. That's like a big ask. Yeah,
- 33:02Speaker 1: So I'm sure that Stan and Amy weren't coming in
- 33:05Speaker 1: just expecting to divulge all of their trade secrets and
- 33:08Speaker 1: what they can do to succeed. Like why are you
- 33:10Speaker 1: paying them?
- 33:11Speaker 2: Right?
- 33:12Speaker 1: Like what are you giving in exchange for that kind
- 33:15Speaker 1: of information? Like that's worth something. But the Browns are
- 33:18Speaker 1: so stupid that they don't understand that that's what they're
- 33:21Speaker 1: asking for and they don't deserve it.
- 33:23Speaker 2: No, they don't. And it's like a fine line because obviously,
- 33:26Speaker 2: like I'm sure Stan was told by TLC like just
- 33:30Speaker 2: pretend to help them whatever, And it's like, you know,
- 33:33Speaker 2: you don't want to like gatekeep information, but at the
- 33:35Speaker 2: same time, it's like you don't want to just give
- 33:37Speaker 2: it away to people for free who are just going
- 33:40Speaker 2: to take advantage.
- 33:40Speaker 1: They're not going to be good stewards of it.
- 33:42Speaker 2: And like the thing is is like with your business
- 33:44Speaker 2: as an example, you wanted it so badly that you
- 33:47Speaker 2: did all the research, you put in, all of the
- 33:48Speaker 2: hard work, you grinded hardcore to make it successful because
- 33:53Speaker 2: you wanted it so All these other people want the
- 33:56Speaker 2: business so badly they could do the work themselves too.
- 33:59Speaker 2: If you want it so badly, then put in the
- 34:01Speaker 2: fucking effort. And that's what the thing with the Browns.
- 34:03Speaker 2: It's like I think they were just wanting free advice
- 34:06Speaker 2: and free help and free secrets and stuff because they
- 34:09Speaker 2: don't want to actually put in any of the effort,
- 34:12Speaker 2: especially Robin. And at this point we know it's just
- 34:14Speaker 2: Robin putting in the effort because everybody else doesn't give
- 34:18Speaker 2: a shit, right, So it just this whole meeting was
- 34:21Speaker 2: just embarrassing. And I know that they end up having
- 34:24Speaker 2: another like shark Tank meeting later in this season, I think,
- 34:28Speaker 2: or the next where they pitch it and it's horrible,
- 34:31Speaker 2: and that's where they like value their business at like
- 34:34Speaker 2: five million dollars.
- 34:35Speaker 1: I can't wait to get there, but I just can't.
- 34:37Speaker 1: I cringe so deeply into my body. It's so crazy
- 34:40Speaker 1: that it becomes a ke girl, which we call a cracle.
- 34:45Speaker 1: But I mean even at the meeting, and I respected
- 34:47Speaker 1: Stan in the moment because he didn't let them off
- 34:50Speaker 1: the hook. He's like the investors that I know who
- 34:54Speaker 1: work in kind of the business that you're talking about
- 34:56Speaker 1: would eat you alive. Like I expected you to show
- 34:59Speaker 1: up to this this preliminary meeting where we're just meeting
- 35:02Speaker 1: each other with a business plan, with a presentation, with
- 35:05Speaker 1: knowing your profitability, like what is your overhead? Like I
- 35:09Speaker 1: expected all of this analysis from you and you've got nothing.
- 35:12Speaker 1: You're just here to find out what I can give you.
- 35:15Speaker 1: And he put them on blast, and that's why Janelle
- 35:18Speaker 1: was embarrassed and saying on the couch that they look
- 35:21Speaker 1: like fools.
- 35:22Speaker 2: Dude, I would have literally crawled back into a hole
- 35:25Speaker 2: and never been seen ever again. If I was in
- 35:27Speaker 2: a presentation like that on TV too, being embarrassed like.
- 35:31Speaker 1: The men of the guy just like disappearance, that.
- 35:33Speaker 2: Would be me. I'd be so embarrassed. That's why it
- 35:36Speaker 2: was so hard for me to watch because I'm just like,
- 35:38Speaker 2: I cannot imagine being that stupid and like going to
- 35:42Speaker 2: sit with this lay mass investor and have him just
- 35:47Speaker 2: like call you out on your bullshit, you know, and
- 35:50Speaker 2: then they go.
- 35:51Speaker 1: I was gonna say it.
- 35:51Speaker 2: Well.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Another thing that the investor told them was that they
- 35:54Speaker 1: can expect to give I think thirty percent, yeah yeah,
- 35:58Speaker 1: thirty percent of their profits to whoever invests in their business.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And what they think they're worried about is sharing the money,
- 36:06Speaker 1: but also losing control. And Cody says in the meeting,
- 36:09Speaker 1: so I know that, you know, you stay in your lane,
- 36:12Speaker 1: which is you're the investor. We stay in our lane.
- 36:14Speaker 1: But if at some point we're not running the business
- 36:17Speaker 1: in the right way, you will get into our lane.
- 36:20Speaker 1: And this is where Stand says, well, yeah, we'll take
- 36:23Speaker 1: over the business. Yeah, because we're funding the business and
- 36:26Speaker 1: that's how business works.
- 36:28Speaker 2: And I'm just like, Cody, how do you not understand this?
- 36:31Speaker 2: Like that's basic one oh one? Wasn't Shark Tank premiering
- 36:35Speaker 2: at this point? I think that's why they're doing Yes,
- 36:38Speaker 2: you think it's that. Yeah, I think it's a trend
- 36:40Speaker 2: that's currently in the zeitgeist, which is probably got Robin
- 36:43Speaker 2: thinking to herself.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Oh my god, we should go on Shark Tank. And
- 36:47Speaker 1: so this is a version of that.
- 36:50Speaker 2: Oh my god, I love to see it. I'd love
- 36:52Speaker 2: to see them crash and burn, especially Cody and Robin,
- 36:54Speaker 2: because they're dumb and they don't deserve anybody's money.
- 36:57Speaker 1: Well, I kind of thought that Cody was airing a
- 37:00Speaker 1: concern that he actually has because he knows his wives,
- 37:03Speaker 1: even Robin, and he's like, we're gonna fuck this up.
- 37:06Speaker 1: Our expos suck nobody's buying as it is currently on
- 37:10Speaker 1: our website. So, like, what happens if the investors think
- 37:13Speaker 1: we're mismanaging this thing and he's asking the questions that
- 37:17Speaker 1: the women can hear, Well, it's gonna get taken over, Robin,
- 37:20Speaker 1: It's gonna get taken over.
- 37:23Speaker 2: Do you think Cody at this time thinks that this
- 37:25Speaker 2: is a stupid idea.
- 37:26Speaker 1: I think he knows this is a vanity project for Robin,
- 37:30Speaker 1: and he's doing it because he loves that sweet, sweet
- 37:33Speaker 1: breakdance and pussy. Oh, come on, correct me, I'm wrong.
- 37:38Speaker 2: I think you're probably right, honestly. And then the last
- 37:41Speaker 2: part of the episode is when we have Cody's birthday
- 37:44Speaker 2: because God, so many Capricorn in this family bought the caps.
- 37:49Speaker 2: Just kill me, I would know too much. But anyway,
- 37:54Speaker 2: we have Cody's birthday, and this is where Mary takes
- 37:58Speaker 2: Robin aside, brings her back to her lonely ass house
- 38:02Speaker 2: to sit her down and gently tell her, Hey, your
- 38:06Speaker 2: dreams stupid and I'm going back to school, and Robin freaks.
- 38:13Speaker 1: Out inwardly, Yes, she tells the camera like I had
- 38:17Speaker 1: to fight my urge to just get up and walk
- 38:20Speaker 1: out of her house because she was that upset. But
- 38:23Speaker 1: here again, this is a great demonstration of how Mary
- 38:27Speaker 1: at her big fucking age does not know how to
- 38:30Speaker 1: communicate simple ideas, Because there was a way to have
- 38:33Speaker 1: said this to Robin where you didn't have to alarm her.
- 38:37Speaker 1: Because from what I'm getting from Mary, like, she's still
- 38:41Speaker 1: going to work in the business. She's still going to
- 38:43Speaker 1: be a partner to Robin. It's just that her availability
- 38:46Speaker 1: is not going to be what it once was, but
- 38:48Speaker 1: her crabmin is still there. Yeah, So she could have
- 38:50Speaker 1: framed it in a way that wasn't so worrying to Robin.
- 38:54Speaker 1: But no, she's dumb. Yeah, and so she's like, I
- 38:57Speaker 1: just wanted to tell you that my dream is different.
- 39:00Speaker 1: My dream is to go back to college, which I'm
- 39:03Speaker 1: just discovering my dream for the first time in my
- 39:06Speaker 1: life at forty five years of age. Yeah, and my
- 39:09Speaker 1: dream is not my sister wife's closet. Yikes. But I'm
- 39:12Speaker 1: still here. I mean, don't be worried about it.
- 39:15Speaker 2: But at the same time, it's like, why do you
- 39:17Speaker 2: even have to have a conversation like this with Robin?
- 39:20Speaker 2: Why does Robin even care so much Robin has power. Well, yeah,
- 39:23Speaker 2: and Robin also is putting all of the work on
- 39:27Speaker 2: all of the wives. I eat Mary, mainly because Jane
- 39:31Speaker 2: and Christina do give a book and they've already made
- 39:34Speaker 2: it known that they don't give a buck about my
- 39:36Speaker 2: sister's closet. And so Mary was really Robin's minion. And
- 39:40Speaker 2: so now Robin's minion is telling her, you know what,
- 39:44Speaker 2: I'm gonna pave my own way. Dobby's free, and I'm
- 39:47Speaker 2: gonna do what I want. And Robin freaks the fuck out,
- 39:51Speaker 2: and like Mary knew she was going to freak the
- 39:53Speaker 2: fuck out, And I just think, what an unhealthy, toxic dynamic.
- 39:58Speaker 2: And you're right, Robin does have all the power with
- 40:00Speaker 2: Cody and in the family in general. And so now
- 40:04Speaker 2: to have Mary shit all over Robin's dream and ruin
- 40:08Speaker 2: it for her because Robin's acting like her dream is dead.
- 40:13Speaker 2: What do you mean I can't be the favorite wife
- 40:15Speaker 2: and have all the wives make money for me while
- 40:19Speaker 2: I bang their husband day in and day out.
- 40:22Speaker 1: And take all of the money, get all of the
- 40:24Speaker 1: money and all of the resources. Well, she does say
- 40:27Speaker 1: Robin in this conversation something like I just feel like
- 40:31Speaker 1: I'm trying to invite my friends into a party, but
- 40:34Speaker 1: none of my friends want to come to the party,
- 40:37Speaker 1: And like, so you're taking this business thing personally as
- 40:41Speaker 1: a rejection, and then we know you're going to use
- 40:45Speaker 1: that in the future against Mary. And as I was
- 40:48Speaker 1: watching this, I'm just forecasting into the future, like a
- 40:51Speaker 1: couple of years when Mary, I guess doesn't go to school. Yeah,
- 40:55Speaker 1: but she starts Luluo and Mary becomes a star in life,
- 41:00Speaker 1: and we know she starts breaking in the books. Honey,
- 41:03Speaker 1: She's making hundreds of thousands of dollars, having gotten in
- 41:07Speaker 1: at the very beginning with Lularo, and so you can
- 41:09Speaker 1: just imagine it's not the same business. But in this
- 41:12Speaker 1: episode we hear Robin and Christine talking about maybe expanding
- 41:16Speaker 1: the business into homewares and clothing and things of that nature.
- 41:21Speaker 1: So Lularow isn't exactly the same thing, but it's adjacent
- 41:25Speaker 1: to some degree. So to then have Mary start her
- 41:29Speaker 1: own business selling clothes, which she could have been doing
- 41:32Speaker 1: for my sister wife closet, she could have used all
- 41:34Speaker 1: that energy for that, but she chose not to and
- 41:37Speaker 1: then is wildly successful. I can see how then when
- 41:42Speaker 1: the Catfish begins and Robin hears of this from Kendra,
- 41:48Speaker 1: who we met in San Francisco in season six, and
- 41:50Speaker 1: Kendras feeding Robin and Cody all this information about Mary.
- 41:55Speaker 1: I can see why Robin, being the poisonous person, would
- 41:58Speaker 1: do that because she's jealous list of Mary making all
- 42:01Speaker 1: that money, because that's what motivates Robin and Cody. It's
- 42:04Speaker 1: the money, and they want that money, yep. And they
- 42:07Speaker 1: also want to punish.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Mary, definitely. They want to punish her for not following
- 42:12Speaker 2: suit and their control and in their stupid business. And
- 42:15Speaker 2: it's like, Robin, you could have done the same fucking thing.
- 42:18Speaker 2: Why didn't you sell like some avon or something. Why
- 42:21Speaker 2: didn't you do anything else other than my sister Wide's closet.
- 42:24Speaker 2: I don't know why you held on to that. I
- 42:26Speaker 2: wonder if she used that as like a manipulation to
- 42:29Speaker 2: keep the family together too, like not even just about money,
- 42:32Speaker 2: but just like, well, I was a good sister wife
- 42:34Speaker 2: because I wanted to do a business where I included
- 42:37Speaker 2: all of you, and you guys did your own separate
- 42:40Speaker 2: things and abandoned me. And that's how Cody, you know,
- 42:44Speaker 2: turned all of it against the wives. And everything. I
- 42:46Speaker 2: don't know, just whole situation. I'm just like Robin, you're
- 42:50Speaker 2: fucking psycho.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Yeah, And I go back to the fact that she's
- 42:54Speaker 1: sniffing her own farts. She believes her own hype. She
- 42:58Speaker 1: believes that this is actually a business that has legs
- 43:02Speaker 1: that could become something great. She has no idea that
- 43:05Speaker 1: her designs suck, that her ideas are derivative and stolen
- 43:09Speaker 1: from another online shop apparently, But like everything you're doing sucks, yep,
- 43:14Speaker 1: but you think everything you're doing is great. Narc Yeah, narc.
- 43:17Speaker 2: Total nark behavior and then taking it personally. Yes, when
- 43:20Speaker 2: Mary wants to do her own thing, go to college,
- 43:23Speaker 2: go to college, like who cares? Right, I mean I
- 43:27Speaker 2: can understand, like if you and Mary maybe had a
- 43:29Speaker 2: conversation and Mary was like, I'm in this one hundred percent.
- 43:32Speaker 2: I'm not going to do anything other than that, and
- 43:35Speaker 2: then Mary drops a bomb on you. But you know what,
- 43:38Speaker 2: maybe you shouldn't have stolen her man. Yeah, up, maybe
- 43:42Speaker 2: you have. You shouldn't have been such a.
- 43:43Speaker 1: Bitch, period period period.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Anyway, that's it.
- 43:47Speaker 1: And that was the end episode. What like there was
- 43:50Speaker 1: a lot going on, was it was much better than
- 43:53Speaker 1: the whole commitment. Sarah Coney, arc of like five episodes.
- 43:58Speaker 1: I was so bored, so like, I'm excited to get
- 44:01Speaker 1: into the things that are going to be coming in
- 44:03Speaker 1: this season. Now. Is there anything else that we should
- 44:06Speaker 1: say to these beautiful raccoons before we get all up
