- 0:24SPEAKER_05: This is the else.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: Oh, hey, Clay, what's happening?
- 0:32SPEAKER_04: Did you cut your hate?
- 0:34SPEAKER_04: I'm just kidding.
- 0:34SPEAKER_04: I'm just kidding.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Yes, let's let's just have some fun in the comments section.
- 0:41SPEAKER_01: I don't know why I would even do this to myself.
- 0:43SPEAKER_01: I'm not, I'll look.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: I'll look.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Um, vote if you like the long hair or the short hair.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: What's your preference?
- 0:50SPEAKER_01: I'll be fair, I'll be honest, I mean, and and tell you, I'm just gonna do whatever I want to do.
- 0:54SPEAKER_01: But I am curious.
- 0:55SPEAKER_01: I am curious because I I hear I said to Clay before we uh got on here, on air here, I said most of the time, like 90% of the time, the ones that do not like the short hair that say they want the long hair back, surprise, surprise, are the guys.
- 1:09SPEAKER_01: The guys always want the long hair back.
- 1:12SPEAKER_01: And I like I said to Clay, and Clay concurred, that I listen, I I'm not here to please y'all for that.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: That that I I have a man, I am good.
- 1:21SPEAKER_01: And he's okay with the short hair.
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: He he is good either way, and that is the one that matters.
- 1:27SPEAKER_01: So, but I'm curious.
- 1:28SPEAKER_01: Go ahead, hurt my feelings, why not?
- 1:30SPEAKER_01: Whatever.
- 1:33SPEAKER_04: Away from the beard growing back in and put it on your hair.
- 1:35SPEAKER_04: That's all.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there you go.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: Yes, I know.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: That was like probably the first thing I said to play, right?
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: I know.
- 1:39SPEAKER_01: Well we'll we'll take we're tapping out.
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: Were there a lot of comments?
- 1:42SPEAKER_01: I I I didn't see were there a lot of comments about the beard.
- 1:44SPEAKER_04: One or two, yeah, one or two, but uh nothing, you know.
- 1:48SPEAKER_04: I think uh yeah, I think it's less less of a big deal, I think, for men than it is for women, but um, it is what it is.
- 1:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah.
- 1:57SPEAKER_01: I yeah, for a girl, it's for a girl it's it's drastic when you cut your hair because I it's you know, people have only seen me.
- 2:03SPEAKER_01: I think in pretty much all of this time that I've been doing social media stuff, I've always had long hair.
- 2:09SPEAKER_01: I've I've cut my hair in the past.
- 2:11SPEAKER_01: Like everybody, I think every mom does the short haircut when their kids, you know, hit the toddler stage because you're tired of getting your hair yanked out and putting it up and and you know, doing the things, um, did that certainly.
- 2:22SPEAKER_01: But for as long as I've been doing social media, I think my hair's been long.
- 2:25SPEAKER_01: So I kind of I think I shocked anyone who, you know, gave it a moment's thought was like, what?
- 2:31SPEAKER_01: You cut your hair?
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 2:33SPEAKER_01: So, you know, what do they say?
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: First world troubles there?
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: First world problems.
- 2:39SPEAKER_01: First world problems, yeah.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: Yep, that is uh, you know, one of the most important topics to be talking about tonight.
- 2:44SPEAKER_01: My hair.
- 2:46SPEAKER_04: We got plenty to talk about too.
- 2:48SPEAKER_04: And there's even stuff going on as we speak right now, uh, or things that have happened in the last 24 hours that we're not even gonna get to, folks.
- 2:55SPEAKER_04: We're not even gonna talk about the hijacking.
- 2:57SPEAKER_04: Um kinds of stuff going on.
- 3:01SPEAKER_04: But we do have plenty to talk about.
- 3:02SPEAKER_04: So uh here's here's what's on the docket for this evening.
- 3:05SPEAKER_02: Xi Jinping got the red carpet, the flyover, and two pandas for Atlanta.
- 3:10SPEAKER_02: Dinner is not a strategy.
- 3:11SPEAKER_02: Taiwan did not move, neither did Iran.
- 3:13SPEAKER_02: Then the Pope and the president start arguing about artificial intelligence.
- 3:16SPEAKER_02: One says the warnings are not fake news, the other says do not hand the future to a global committee or to China.
- 3:22SPEAKER_02: Meanwhile, Iran is still sitting on the world's oil faucet.
- 3:24SPEAKER_02: The straight of four moves is a ransom note with coordinates.
- 3:27SPEAKER_02: Pete Heggseth is at Quantico, cutting 20% of the stars off the org chart.
- 3:31SPEAKER_02: Less generals, more GIs.
- 3:32SPEAKER_02: Madonna won Artist of the Year at 68.
- 3:34SPEAKER_02: The easy joke writes itself.
- 3:36SPEAKER_02: 34 days from a midterm, Democrats still cannot decide what they are.
- 3:39SPEAKER_02: Rahman Manuel is doing the 2028 dance.
- 3:42SPEAKER_02: Should living politicians have their names carved into federal buildings?
- 3:44SPEAKER_02: Maybe wait until the eulogy.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: And Mr.
- 3:46SPEAKER_02: Belding died.
- 3:51SPEAKER_01: Hmm, Mr.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: Belding.
- 3:53SPEAKER_01: We'll get to it.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: We'll get to it.
- 3:54SPEAKER_01: Uh we'll we'll start off with some serious.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: Well, actually, it's not that I mean it's serious, but it's not serious if you know what I mean.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: No, you don't know what I mean, guys, because I haven't even showed you what I'm talking about.
- 4:04SPEAKER_01: Talking about uh Trump wine and dines.
- 4:06SPEAKER_01: She, friend or foe, or just business.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: Um, so president she came to Washington.
- 4:13SPEAKER_01: He got the flyover, uh, the state dinner, he got Marine One, and he got us a pair of pandas for Atlanta.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: I mean, honestly, that's the only thing I want to talk about.
- 4:23SPEAKER_01: I just want to talk about the pandas.
- 4:25SPEAKER_01: I don't care about the rest.
- 4:26SPEAKER_01: I'm kidding.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: I'm not kidding, but I'm kidding.
- 4:31SPEAKER_04: The visit amounted to, besides the pandas, um, it amounted to an extension in the trade restrictions.
- 4:39SPEAKER_04: I think it was they were supposed to, you know, or not restrictions, but allowances, because that's really what it boils down to.
- 4:46SPEAKER_04: Is there allowances until they were supposed to be until the end of November, and now they're the end of December.
- 4:50SPEAKER_04: Okay, that's good.
- 4:52SPEAKER_04: Gives them another month to negotiate.
- 4:54SPEAKER_04: Um, you know, there was talk about uh the US position on Taiwan, which is always interesting.
- 5:00SPEAKER_04: And folks, you want to talk about a battle of semantics.
- 5:02SPEAKER_04: This is literally the US position has been that they are not opposed to um Taiwanese independence.
- 5:13SPEAKER_04: Not that they support it, not that they're for it, that they don't oppose it.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: So kind of like saying, I don't not like something.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Correct.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 5:22SPEAKER_04: And what Ji Jinping wanted was for us to outwardly say that we do not support Taiwanese independence.
- 5:30SPEAKER_04: And and basically they agreed to disagree and and go on doing what we've been doing.
- 5:35SPEAKER_04: But that it's it right now, it is a a battle of semantics.
- 5:38SPEAKER_04: Um and then and then the AI discussion came in, and it was a you know, we need to have an open dialogue.
- 5:45SPEAKER_04: This is like AI, SI now, super intelligence, as we're calling it, um, is on top of everything that comes across uh comes across President Trump's desk.
- 5:54SPEAKER_04: Yes, it's all about AI, SI, uh, and it came up in the in the meetings with Ji Ji Ping as well.
- 6:00SPEAKER_04: So um, and and truthfully, I gotta be honest, they're gonna meet two more, I think it's two more times before the end of this year, which is crazy.
- 6:11SPEAKER_04: Um, yeah, there's uh uh two summits.
- 6:14SPEAKER_04: There's one in China, and then there's the G20, which I think is in Tampa.
- 6:18SPEAKER_04: So they're gonna see each other two more times this year.
- 6:20SPEAKER_04: So this one was kind of a I wouldn't say it was a do-nothing, know-nothing, but uh there wasn't a ton, even I think, planned to get accomplished.
- 6:30SPEAKER_04: I think this was a continue open dialogue, continue things to be somewhat friendly.
- 6:34SPEAKER_04: I think the only goal was um put AI on the table and push the trade restriction stuff back as far as we could get them to agree to.
- 6:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean, am I am I wrong in feeling like, you know, it it's just kind of um a political dance, a show being put on.
- 6:55SPEAKER_01: Because nobody, I don't believe that anybody, particularly China, is going to put any, you know, breaks or anything on their uh AI.
- 7:05SPEAKER_01: Uh I certainly don't think we're actually going to do that either, especially when it's in relation to uh each other.
- 7:12SPEAKER_01: I I don't think anybody's actually going to share information, any real valuable information to each other.
- 7:20SPEAKER_01: So it just kind of feels like it's a just a little bit of you know political show.
- 7:26SPEAKER_01: I don't mean necessarily political show for us uh or for the Chinese people, um, but just for each other.
- 7:33SPEAKER_01: Like let's let's make nice, let's make it look good, let's smile for the camera, shake hands, here's a couple pandas, here's a nice flyover, um, let's take a nice big walk up those steps, you know.
- 7:45SPEAKER_04: So, like everything else, because it was done by President Trump, you know, it's a lot of backlash.
- 7:50SPEAKER_04: And you know, people try to compare this relationship now, 2026, with China, to US relations with Russia and you know, with the Soviet Union back in the 1980s, which are being handled very differently, right?
- 8:06SPEAKER_04: Right, you know, if you saw any of the biopics about President Reagan that have come out in the last two or three years, there was a very uh tenuous, contentious relationship between the United States and the Soviet Union, especially in the President Reagan decided to handle it one way, which was they were focused, rare, specific, detailed negotiations.
- 8:32SPEAKER_04: President Trump is of a different mindset.
- 8:34SPEAKER_04: He thinks that constant contact, friendly dialogue is the way to manage the relationship with China.
- 8:41SPEAKER_04: And you've just got people who go, well, that's that's not that's not how it should be handled.
- 8:45SPEAKER_04: That's not how we handled the Soviets, that's not what President Reagan did.
- 8:47SPEAKER_04: And he's catching that from both sides.
- 8:49SPEAKER_04: He's catching it from the conservatives and he's catching it from the the Democrats.
- 8:52SPEAKER_04: And so um, you know, one thing we've continued, you and I specifically have said this.
- 8:58SPEAKER_04: He's a businessman, he's gonna handle everything like a business deal.
- 9:02SPEAKER_04: And there is there are few business minds on earth, and I know people are gonna talk about bankruptcies and all kinds of other crap, but nobody handles business deals better than President Trump.
- 9:11SPEAKER_04: So um leave him alone, folks.
- 9:13SPEAKER_04: He knows what he's doing.
- 9:14SPEAKER_04: Like we got Greenland for free, remember?
- 9:17SPEAKER_04: Like that just happened.
- 9:18SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 9:19SPEAKER_04: So cut the guy a break.
- 9:20SPEAKER_04: He knows what he's doing.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 9:22SPEAKER_01: Um, we do have some, we have a couple few videos here.
- 9:25SPEAKER_01: Here's I mentioned the uh the stroll up those steps.
- 9:28SPEAKER_01: Here's that right here.
- 9:30SPEAKER_01: So I I saw a couple of different comments posts regarding this.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: And it's at one point here, you're gonna see it in just a moment.
- 9:38SPEAKER_01: Uh, President Trump stops, puts his hand on uh President Xi's arm, and is pointing out some things.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: And the the comment that I saw attached to this post was they said, isn't, you know, wasn't that so gracious of President Trump?
- 9:52SPEAKER_01: He must have seen that President Xi was, you know, uh kind of losing his breath there, and he, you know, graciously kind of stopped and give him, gave him a chance to catch his breath.
- 10:02SPEAKER_01: Listen, I don't know if that's uh true or not.
- 10:05SPEAKER_01: Somebody else said the exact opposite.
- 10:07SPEAKER_01: Um, does it matter?
- 10:09SPEAKER_01: Like it I think my only point with pointing that whole thing out is like you can't even take a walk up a set of stairs without it being scrutinized and and analyzed for every little thing.
- 10:20SPEAKER_01: Like, I feel like the whole body language reading thing gets so uh out of control.
- 10:26SPEAKER_01: Like, just they walked up the stairs, it pointed out some things.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: Move on with your lives, people.
- 10:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah, people it's the overanalyzing of everything because I saw um you know the comparatives.
- 10:38SPEAKER_04: Oh, you know, President G was holding his wife's arm, President Trump and Melania were separated by 18 inches.
- 10:45SPEAKER_04: So Melania was wearing pants, President G's wife was in a skirt.
- 10:49SPEAKER_04: You know, it's like they people just want to it put every single solitary thing under a microscope.
- 10:54SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 10:55SPEAKER_04: Um, and folks, sometimes it's just not that deep.
- 10:58SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it just really, really isn't.
- 11:00SPEAKER_04: Say what you want it to be, you want it to be a thing, you know, project whatever it is that you want it to be.
- 11:06SPEAKER_04: Sometimes it's just not, it's just not a thing.
- 11:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and and the proof is the wildly, you know, complete polar opposite of opinions on, you know, the very same thing.
- 11:17SPEAKER_01: The the exact you two the two people are looking at the same exact clip or footage or image, whatever the case is, and come up with completely different um analysis of them.
- 11:31SPEAKER_01: And it's all based on your own perception and and opinions and and viewpoint.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: Like just stop putting so much importance on silly things.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: Um, but I here's something I'm gonna put importance on with this whole thing.
- 11:43SPEAKER_01: I told you I'm all about the pandas.
- 11:45SPEAKER_01: So let's uh watch the here's the uh the video of the the pandas.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: We don't actually here's the part that disappointed me with this, and I'm gonna disappoint you.
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: Um I don't think we actually see the pandas.
- 11:56SPEAKER_01: Like they don't even show us the pandas.
- 11:58SPEAKER_01: I forgot their names already.
- 11:59SPEAKER_01: Shame on me.
- 12:00SPEAKER_01: I cared so much that I forgot their names.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Um, but this actually it gave me such anxiety for the pandas that they were being shipped like like this.
- 12:08SPEAKER_01: It was sad.
- 12:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like cargo.
- 12:11SPEAKER_01: But they call somebody uh referred to it as the panda express, and that kind of made me chuckle a little bit.
- 12:17SPEAKER_01: That gave me a chuckle.
- 12:18SPEAKER_05: Love it.
- 12:19SPEAKER_01: So yeah, but um, but yeah, so that's exciting.
- 12:22SPEAKER_01: I did read, did you read this, or maybe you just simply knew it already?
- 12:25SPEAKER_01: That um we were gifted under Biden.
- 12:28SPEAKER_01: Biden was gifted to pandas as well from China during his presidency.
- 12:33SPEAKER_01: And uh Xi, I think it was president she at that time too, um took them back because Biden called him a dictator.
- 12:41SPEAKER_01: And he basically says, I'm grabbing my pandas and take it.
- 12:45SPEAKER_04: They're all all the all the pandas are on loan.
- 12:47SPEAKER_04: Every panda that exists outside of China is on loan, like nobody gets to keep them.
- 12:52SPEAKER_04: They are they are Chinese property and they always will be.
- 12:55SPEAKER_04: And so um, you know, that's it is what it is.
- 12:58SPEAKER_04: I don't know how much of a bargaining chip it is, it is always a message, though.
- 13:02SPEAKER_04: It is, it's a it's a message that they keep in their pocket, and clearly during the Biden administration, he chose to exercise that, and good for him.
- 13:09SPEAKER_04: So um, yeah, I you know, going back to the AI thing, because we're gonna talk more about AI, because that is, folks, it's everything right now.
- 13:16SPEAKER_04: Um, you know, AI between us and China is the closest comparative is the nuclear race between us and the Soviets, right?
- 13:25SPEAKER_04: Between us and China, the two global powers, superpowers that are left, because let's be honest, Russia's not a superpower anymore, especially when they're tangled up with Ukraine.
- 13:33SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 13:34SPEAKER_04: Um, but us and China, this is the new nuclear race, is AI.
- 13:39SPEAKER_04: The the difference, the big difference is that, you know, minus the fantasy of the movie War Games, which is a classic, uh, the nuclear weapons were not going to launch themselves.
- 13:49SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 13:50SPEAKER_04: Uh, and AI has the potential to, you know, come out of people's control and do things that it's not designed to do.
- 13:57SPEAKER_04: And and and that's that is the point of discussion.
- 14:00SPEAKER_04: Um, but I can promise you, those two guys, President Ping and President Trump, don't know enough of the technicalities of AI, SI, to negotiate between the two of them.
- 14:12SPEAKER_04: They just don't.
- 14:13SPEAKER_04: Um, so I think this is the first step in a lot of continual dialogue between the two nations because we both know purposeful or accidental, everybody's at risk with this stuff.
- 14:24SPEAKER_04: Um, in different ways to yeah, and and again, you know, it's a deterrent.
- 14:30SPEAKER_04: The nuclear deterrent existed.
- 14:33SPEAKER_04: They didn't think we were gonna fire, we didn't think they were gonna fire.
- 14:36SPEAKER_04: I know people were scared, and and I even heard an old Soviet general in the United States when I was a young army officer say we were scared of Ronald Reagan because we all thought he was crazy.
- 14:45SPEAKER_04: Um so there was that deterrent.
- 14:47SPEAKER_04: However, this we are gonna deter.
- 14:50SPEAKER_04: There is a deterrent that will be built to what we know of Chinese AI, uh, and they're gonna do the same to us.
- 14:56SPEAKER_04: And I think this is the new focus of all espionage.
- 14:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, uh, globally, all of the spy stuff is gonna be focused on AI uh more than it is military secrets, because this is the next generation of everything.
- 15:10SPEAKER_04: It's the next generation of communication, entertainment, but it is the next next generation of warfare.
- 15:15SPEAKER_04: So um, top of the list is is AI, SI for everything.
- 15:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 15:20SPEAKER_01: I, you know, as as we were just saying, that there's no um this threat, potential threat, goes in so many different directions from the the you know, literal threat of, like you said, nuclear, um, nuclear access capability being outside of our control.
- 15:41SPEAKER_01: That's you know, probably like the the top of the line, the highest, you know, frightening threat that the potential for AI to out, I don't know, out I want to say outgrow, but that's not the right term, um, to get out of our control and act on its own, it obviously terrifying in that.
- 15:59SPEAKER_01: And you take it from the highest level of potential threat to a more general level of threat, which is this psychological and intellectual impact AI has on society and not just us, you know, uh everywhere, all around the world, you know, the the dependence on um artificial intelligence, AI to oh, it just sounded like that was so Kamla of me to explain what AI was right there.
- 16:27SPEAKER_01: I just dumb splained it to you.
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, guys.
- 16:29SPEAKER_01: It it just came out.
- 16:32SPEAKER_01: Oh boy, oh boy.
- 16:33SPEAKER_01: Anyhow, um yeah, just that the threat of AI, potential threat of AI is very, very real.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: And, you know, we certainly everybody should be hoping that these major countries are in communication with each other and uh and are on good terms with each other.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: And, you know, because I have seen, you know, oh, we shouldn't be, you know, having these, we shouldn't even entertain these talks with China because blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 16:59SPEAKER_01: No, you actually, and it clearly that person or people never heard that phrase of uh keep your keep your enemies or keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: That's kind of what it boils down to, and that's you know, probably a big part of of Trump's strategy here that like, you know, it's a lot harder to stab your friend in the back than it is somebody that you have no relation to and no ties to.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: So, you know, he's he's building bridges and it's not just because he wants to be buddies.
- 17:26SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 17:28SPEAKER_01: Um as you said, uh AI is seeping into every conversation, and I personally did not see this conversation being part of it.
- 17:39SPEAKER_01: The Pope takes on President Trump uh regarding AI.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: So there are in polar opposites of opinions here.
- 17:47SPEAKER_01: Um would you say his take was a jab at the president or just calling it out?
- 17:56SPEAKER_04: He's been taking jabs at President Trump since he put on the hat.
- 18:00SPEAKER_04: Um and especially, I mean, just in every facet, every opportunity he's had, he's taken a shot at President Trump, um, you know, which just proves he's a hundred percent from the city of Chicago because that means he's a Democrat.
- 18:14SPEAKER_04: Um, but uh yeah, you know, President Trump again is that's why he had the AI Summit or SI Summit with all of the the heads in there and the at the big table um and to talk about this.
- 18:27SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 18:28SPEAKER_04: You know, where the the Pope is um, you know, he's in the the truthfully the uneducated.
- 18:35SPEAKER_04: I would put him in the same category.
- 18:37SPEAKER_04: I'm sure he's got advisors, I'm sure they have technology advisors within the Vatican, they have to.
- 18:42SPEAKER_04: Um, but he's not any smarter on this than President Trump is, and I would bet a dime on a dollar that he is less informed uh on this.
- 18:50SPEAKER_04: So, you know, his is an opinion uh and and probably an uninformed opinion.
- 18:56SPEAKER_04: The problem is that it carries weight with such a huge portion of the global population um that no matter what his opinion is, it is mostly irrelevant uh and certainly uh uninformed.
- 19:13SPEAKER_04: So it's irresponsible, in my opinion, for him to be delving into this uh without the you know proper information, which I guarantee he doesn't have.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 19:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I mean it it's at best weird that he that he's weighing in on this.
- 19:27SPEAKER_01: Like, really?
- 19:28SPEAKER_01: Like I feel like you have some more important things to be having conversations about.
- 19:32SPEAKER_01: And here, so here's what I I do have a clip.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: I hear here's what he a little piece of what he had to say.
- 19:37SPEAKER_00: Ask me, am I in panic mode?
- 19:40SPEAKER_00: No, I'm not.
- 19:41SPEAKER_00: I sleep at night.
- 19:42SPEAKER_00: I do think that the concerns raised by many of the experts, specialists in AI, should be taken seriously.
- 19:48SPEAKER_00: I don't think that that is a fake news, as some have said, to try and cause uh whether financial or some other kind of benefit.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: We need to continue to invite political leaders, the leaders of AI, um, social uh organizations, associations to come together and look at what is happening already and what could be down the road.
- 20:11SPEAKER_01: Okay, so first of all, it's it's never not going to be weird to hear the Pope speaking with an American accent.
- 20:18SPEAKER_01: Like it's so it's so strange.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: Um, we haven't had that in I don't even know how long.
- 20:22SPEAKER_01: Uh, but you know, bigger than that is that he, like you said, he's weighing in on things that, like, why, why are you even weighing in on this?
- 20:30SPEAKER_01: Like, this is so not in your lane.
- 20:32SPEAKER_01: Like, it is a moment of, dude, stay in your lane.
- 20:35SPEAKER_01: And by the way, what a perfect time for him to say he said something to the effect of um, I sleep well at night or something like that, right?
- 20:42SPEAKER_01: Or I don't worry, you know, some version of him not, he doesn't worry too much about things.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know.
- 20:47SPEAKER_01: As the Pope, you would have thought he'd follow that up with because of my faith in Jesus, or because of my faith in God.
- 20:53SPEAKER_01: Like, no, it doesn't even mention, doesn't even mention, like, that's literally your job.
- 20:57SPEAKER_01: That's who you are.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: That's what you're supposed to be talking about.
- 21:00SPEAKER_01: That you didn't even incorporate God into the equation in your statement is pretty whack.
- 21:08SPEAKER_01: Just saying, right?
- 21:12SPEAKER_04: The last people who need to be involved in discussions about AISI are social organizations.
- 21:17SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 21:18SPEAKER_04: Zero, I I don't even want to hear their opinion on this stuff.
- 21:22SPEAKER_04: This is a because what that will do, we the biggest fear that most of us have, me included, is that governments move at a snail's pace, right?
- 21:32SPEAKER_04: When you have to go through the processes and procedures associated with any government outside of an authoritarian dictatorial government, right?
- 21:40SPEAKER_04: Everything moves slowly, whether you've got a parliament or a democratic republic like we've got or whatever, the processes and procedures are slow.
- 21:48SPEAKER_04: AI is moving at such a rapid pace that I I know that the US government is not going to be reactive enough to prevent, you know, what we're all fearing to be true.
- 22:00SPEAKER_04: Throw some social organizations in there and watch this thing come to an absolute screeching halt.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah.
- 22:05SPEAKER_04: And so they that again, that shows that the Pope doesn't know what he's talking about.
- 22:10SPEAKER_04: He doesn't have an informed opinion.
- 22:12SPEAKER_04: He's, you know, kind of going back to a reflexive script, which, like you pointed out, has nothing to do with God, you know.
- 22:20SPEAKER_04: Um, and so he he should have said, you know, truthfully, I this is not something that I am educated on.
- 22:28SPEAKER_04: I'm trying to get smart.
- 22:29SPEAKER_04: You know, this is a problem for you know this century, and you know, and and you know, my faith in God and and all of those, like the statement could have been and should have been completely different.
- 22:39SPEAKER_04: But he stepped up.
- 22:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, the statement should have come from a a biblical scriptural perspective.
- 22:46SPEAKER_01: Like that is your lens, or at least it's supposed to be your lens through which you see everything on this earth and above.
- 22:54SPEAKER_04: So why why would that not be, you know, I I I can't stuff like that is is I would be I would be happier, truthfully, if he took a biblical position and called this fire and brimstone.
- 23:07SPEAKER_04: Like this is like the second kind of Sodom and Gomorrah, whatever, like if it was a biblical reference or a position based on you know uh theocratic, like you know, religious knowledge, even if it was kind of a little bit off the deep end a little bit, that I would be okay with.
- 23:24SPEAKER_04: Um, because I would still tell him he should keep it to himself, but at least it's associated with his his office, you know.
- 23:30SPEAKER_04: Right, right.
- 23:31SPEAKER_01: At least it's in his lane.
- 23:33SPEAKER_04: He's not a politician, folks.
- 23:34SPEAKER_04: I hate to break it to you.
- 23:36SPEAKER_04: Um he is a religious leader who truthfully has zero formal education in politics, global, you know, geopolitics, and any of the rest of that stuff.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 23:46SPEAKER_01: He's just him aside, uh what this unfortunately comes down to that it's quite simply if we slow down, if America slows down and China doesn't, uh then we're not getting actually any kind of safety.
- 24:03SPEAKER_01: Uh we're not getting any safety.
- 24:05SPEAKER_01: We're basically transferring power essentially over to China because they will keep advancing, they will keep developing, and they will squash us like one of those nasty little lantern bugs.
- 24:18SPEAKER_04: We're playing catch up.
- 24:19SPEAKER_04: But again, go back to what I said.
- 24:22SPEAKER_04: It's an authoritarian dictatorial government.
- 24:25SPEAKER_04: They do what he says, and it moves at a rapid pace because there are no barriers.
- 24:30SPEAKER_04: When the boss says, find me a way to do X, that's what they do.
- 24:35SPEAKER_04: And so they're they're not waiting for congressional approval, they're not waiting for any of those kinds of things.
- 24:40SPEAKER_04: So, yes, we have to keep up with China, otherwise, we're gonna be, you know, holding the bag and and they're gonna have all the power, which we we can't allow, we can't be the ones playing catch-up.
- 24:51SPEAKER_04: It doesn't work.
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah, absolutely.
- 24:53SPEAKER_01: All right, well, we're gonna keep watching it.
- 24:55SPEAKER_01: See uh see what the next one is.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: Everybody is.
- 24:58SPEAKER_01: Everybody is everybody, yeah, not just here, not just China, all over the world.
- 25:03SPEAKER_01: Everybody is watching this, uh as everybody should be.
- 25:06SPEAKER_01: This is this is this is as serious as you get.
- 25:10SPEAKER_01: And, you know, as everybody knows, I talk highly about using uh favorably about how to use AI and the benefits of it and the things that you can do with it.
- 25:19SPEAKER_01: That's never without comprehending the potential and the active negative that it's used for.
- 25:26SPEAKER_01: And, you know, of course, like I said, the potential for way, way worse than what people are doing with it right now, making ridiculous videos and and whatnot.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: That's just child's play compared to, you know, what can be done.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: Speaking of, I do have a funny video, but we'll save it for the end.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: AI video.
- 25:43SPEAKER_01: We'll save it.
- 25:44SPEAKER_01: Um let's see, what else we've got?
- 25:46SPEAKER_01: We have uh Iran.
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: What?
- 25:49SPEAKER_01: What?
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: Iran's back in the in the conversation.
- 25:53SPEAKER_01: Who would have thought?
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: Just kidding.
- 25:55SPEAKER_01: Um talking about uh the Strait of Horror Moose again, or still, it's not again, it's still.
- 26:00SPEAKER_01: This conversation has not ended because it's a constant issue.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: Go ahead, Clay.
- 26:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, so we're back up to about 7 million barrels a day.
- 26:09SPEAKER_04: Uh the last month and a half have been better than people anticipated, better than they realized.
- 26:15SPEAKER_04: Uh, you know, the Iranian capability to shut down the strait has been degraded significantly.
- 26:23SPEAKER_04: U.S., you know, the U.S.
- 26:24SPEAKER_04: fleet is escorting tankers through, and the flow of crude oil is it's not completely back to where it was, um, but it is moving significantly better than it was even in back in July.
- 26:37SPEAKER_04: Uh so President Trump is now asking, of course, the the smart questions, which is okay, why is gas still so high?
- 26:44SPEAKER_04: You know, he's asking the question that we always ask, which is when oil goes up, we feel it at the gas pump that day.
- 26:50SPEAKER_04: Like literally that day.
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: That day.
- 26:52SPEAKER_04: But when it comes down, it's the slow roll to come down to the prices where it was before.
- 26:57SPEAKER_04: And President Trump is is asking that very same question.
- 27:01SPEAKER_04: Um, and probably for probably for political reasons.
- 27:04SPEAKER_04: He knows that the midterms are coming up, and he knows that a massive drop in gas prices would help the you know conservatives in office.
- 27:12SPEAKER_04: So it's not without cause, but but he is asking the same questions we all ask.
- 27:17SPEAKER_04: And um, especially in the context of you know, you can't say that the strait is completely open, um, unencumbered, and and without, you know, blockages of some kind.
- 27:28SPEAKER_04: But for the most part, it's pretty close.
- 27:30SPEAKER_04: So why are we still at the I think national average is like 426 again, something like that?
- 27:36SPEAKER_04: Uh yeah, it's pretty high.
- 27:38SPEAKER_04: And he's asking why.
- 27:39SPEAKER_04: And and he's asking, he's he's asking what he should ask.
- 27:42SPEAKER_01: Yes, yeah, he is asking what we're all asking why, yeah.
- 27:45SPEAKER_01: And more than even why, I don't even I don't even care why.
- 27:49SPEAKER_01: Just fix it, make it go back down.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: We just bought a new truck, damn it.
- 27:54SPEAKER_01: That thing, that thing takes a lot of gas.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: So how about helping a sister out here?
- 28:00SPEAKER_04: I don't even drive that much, I don't actually uh for the first time I I I found out or heard that there are small, because it's like this um, you know, we're sanctioning Iran, they're you know, they can't sell their oil, they you know, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 28:16SPEAKER_04: But yet it's still getting out and it was still getting sold.
- 28:19SPEAKER_04: And they were, and I was like, how does that you know?
- 28:21SPEAKER_04: I assumed it was international, like, you know, countries that are not friendly with us were buying it and that sort of thing.
- 28:27SPEAKER_04: There is a there's actually, I think it's an ongoing trial, or maybe it just ended.
- 28:31SPEAKER_04: There was a small family-owned oil company in the United States that was buying and refining and selling Iranian crude oil.
- 28:40SPEAKER_04: Stop.
- 28:40SPEAKER_01: That's insane.
- 28:41SPEAKER_04: So yeah, I mean how that happens.
- 28:44SPEAKER_04: Yeah, yeah, I don't either.
- 28:45SPEAKER_04: Um, everybody's doing what they can.
- 28:47SPEAKER_04: So um legal or illegal.
- 28:49SPEAKER_04: But yeah, folks, I you know, that I there's a lot on social media, and I've seen it from people that I'm close to that are now really um they're making some crazy leaps about you know the price of diesel fuel, especially, and oh yeah, um, that kind of stuff, which we talked about last week.
- 29:06SPEAKER_04: So we talked about it, yep.
- 29:07SPEAKER_04: It is, you know, yes, it's still below where President Biden was.
- 29:12SPEAKER_04: Yes, um, improvements are being made.
- 29:14SPEAKER_04: Yes, the strait is opening back up, but it's still high, it still hurts.
- 29:18SPEAKER_04: And, you know, pay patiences are wearing thin.
- 29:22SPEAKER_04: So, you know, every we're not gonna have to tell you what's going on, folks.
- 29:25SPEAKER_04: You're gonna see it at the gas pump.
- 29:26SPEAKER_04: Something's gonna get fixed or it's gonna get worse, one or the other.
- 29:28SPEAKER_04: So we can only really cross our fingers that with this 7 million barrels a day, um, we start to see things improve.
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: Yes, yep.
- 29:36SPEAKER_01: Fingers crossed.
- 29:38SPEAKER_01: Um, let's see, what else are we talking about?
- 29:41SPEAKER_01: Too many generals, not enough warriors.
- 29:43SPEAKER_01: Clay, what is going on?
- 29:45SPEAKER_01: I know Pete Heggseth was uh at Quantico.
- 29:48SPEAKER_01: That was this morning.
- 29:50SPEAKER_04: This afternoon, yes, there all day.
- 29:52SPEAKER_04: He was there all day today.
- 29:53SPEAKER_04: So he did PT with a bunch of folks and he did all the things that Secretary Hegset does.
- 29:58SPEAKER_04: And then today was the state of the force.
- 30:01SPEAKER_04: Um, so he is essentially done doing his own kind of version of the State of the Union.
- 30:06SPEAKER_04: Um, if you remember, he had all the generals, every flag officer, you know, generals and admirals from all the services and all their senior enlisted folks in a room about a year, a little over a year ago.
- 30:16SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 30:16SPEAKER_04: And that was where it was that no, no fat guys, no, no trannies, no blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 30:22SPEAKER_04: So this is the kind of the 2026 version of that.
- 30:24SPEAKER_05: Yeah.
- 30:25SPEAKER_04: Um, and it's and it's going on today.
- 30:27SPEAKER_04: So the big message among many messages, but the big message is that he is cutting 20% of the general of the flag officer ranks uh out of the the top of the military in an effort, in his words, to cut the bureaucracy.
- 30:44SPEAKER_04: Now, um there are a whole bunch of people, and I've seen it already, who bring out these statistics from World War II that say we had so few generals and so many more, you know, service members that were top heavy now and blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 30:59SPEAKER_04: Everybody loves those statistics because there's a comparative, there's this ratio that everybody loves to latch on to.
- 31:06SPEAKER_04: The reality is that one, people don't realize the historical context and what state our military was in between World War I and World War II, and how small it was.
- 31:17SPEAKER_04: Um, so it's very, very easy to generate soldiers and sailors, uh, and very, very difficult to bring in senior level leadership.
- 31:27SPEAKER_04: So we we promoted a whole bunch of people very young during World War II.
- 31:31SPEAKER_04: Um and we and we gave a lot of people responsibility that we wouldn't do now.
- 31:36SPEAKER_04: Um warfare is different.
- 31:38SPEAKER_04: The administrative part of warfare is different.
- 31:41SPEAKER_04: The the you know, the war powers that the president has or doesn't have and Congress has or they don't have, it's all very different.
- 31:48SPEAKER_04: So the comparative to World War II is dumb.
- 31:51SPEAKER_04: It is, it is taking, it is that you know, people manipulating statistics for a message that in context has zero validity.
- 32:00SPEAKER_04: So take if you're you if you're one of those people using that, throw it out the window because it's a crap excuse, to be honest with you.
- 32:06SPEAKER_04: Um, but I would also tell you that unless Secretary Heggsith takes those the staffs that fall underneath those generals and gets rid of those staffs as well, he's not doing it, he's not fixing anything.
- 32:21SPEAKER_04: The bureaucracy comes from the organization, not from the individual, right?
- 32:26SPEAKER_04: Now he's gonna he's gonna sh um scale down some of these jobs like he did with uh General Donahue when General Donahue left and everybody was in an uproar because they thought he should be the next chief of staff of the army, which we still don't have, by the way.
- 32:38SPEAKER_04: Um, but he downgraded the job from a four-star to a three-star.
- 32:42SPEAKER_04: So what you're gonna see him do is a lot of those billets are gonna be downgraded in rank from a four to a three, a three to a two, a two to a one, and a one down to the bird kernel, you know, realm.
- 32:53SPEAKER_04: Um, but if he doesn't get rid of the staffs or the processes that mandate those jobs, then he's not really saving anything.
- 33:01SPEAKER_04: Truly, he's saving a very tiny amount of money in the paychecks of those individuals, which in truth is very small.
- 33:09SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 33:09SPEAKER_04: But I mean, if you if you think about it, if you have a whole division of a of a company, right?
- 33:15SPEAKER_04: And you say, hey, the new division head, we're just gonna take somebody else and we're gonna pay them less to do the same work, you're saving a small amount of money.
- 33:25SPEAKER_04: But the work is the same, the process is the same, the bureaucracy is the same.
- 33:29SPEAKER_04: So unless he cuts the staffs to go with the individuals, he's not fixing, it's a shell game.
- 33:34SPEAKER_04: He's not fixing anything.
- 33:36SPEAKER_04: Um, so the proof will be in the pudding.
- 33:38SPEAKER_04: And let me tell you something, folks, to get rid of those processes and procedures takes a hell of a lot of work.
- 33:44SPEAKER_04: And I and I mean a lot of work.
- 33:46SPEAKER_04: And the work doesn't go away.
- 33:48SPEAKER_04: It it ends up on somebody else's desk, uh, and it still has to get done.
- 33:52SPEAKER_04: The guys that I the folks that I feel sorry for right now are all of the colonels and Navy captains in the Pentagon because there is a whole bunch of shit that's gonna roll downhill and it's gonna and they're working their butts off anyway.
- 34:04SPEAKER_04: That is the worst rank and the worst place to be.
- 34:07SPEAKER_04: There's a lot of colonels who work very, very hard in the Pentagon, and they're about to get more work.
- 34:11SPEAKER_01: Um, so it's not uh it's not just a bunch of uh angry, soon-to-be former generals.
- 34:17SPEAKER_01: There's a lot of people that are gonna be not too happy.
- 34:21SPEAKER_04: Again, unless he shrinks, cutting out leadership without cutting out the the staffs and everything doesn't do anything.
- 34:28SPEAKER_04: It just doesn't.
- 34:30SPEAKER_01: Oh boy.
- 34:31SPEAKER_01: So tell me a little bit about when uh when you were you were on the job back then and was it looking around?
- 34:40SPEAKER_01: Was there uh a lot of cooks in the kitchen, so to speak?
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: Was there a lot more you know, I don't know, how many generals does it take to tell a yeah?
- 34:48SPEAKER_04: So I I I would tell you that the risk aversion within the military was the problem.
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 34:54SPEAKER_04: We rank we ranked up a lot of things because there was a with through every administration through the war on terror, right?
- 35:01SPEAKER_04: We were perfectly happy in a lot of cases pushing tactical responsibility downward, although we weren't very good at that.
- 35:09SPEAKER_04: But inside of the Pentagon and inside of the upper echelons of leadership, we ranked up a lot of things because of politicians.
- 35:17SPEAKER_04: Like, and I'm and it and it's everybody.
- 35:20SPEAKER_04: Like, I I would tell you no president wants to talk to a colonel.
- 35:25SPEAKER_04: They don't.
- 35:26SPEAKER_04: They, whatever it is, the exact same message, delivered the exact same way.
- 35:29SPEAKER_04: It could come out of a colonel's mouth with 29 years of service, or it could come out of a three-star's mouth with 35 years of service, and the president is gonna listen to that three-star general.
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: Why?
- 35:38SPEAKER_04: Because he's a general.
- 35:39SPEAKER_04: So the the political system is what forced a lot of this to happen.
- 35:45SPEAKER_04: Were there a lot of generals?
- 35:46SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 35:47SPEAKER_04: Did we have more than we needed?
- 35:49SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 35:49SPEAKER_04: Frankly, I would agree with that.
- 35:52SPEAKER_04: But until you start trusting people, right?
- 35:55SPEAKER_04: And you know, Secretary Hasek Heggs has got to realize his lifespan in that building is short.
- 36:01SPEAKER_04: I don't care if he stays there for another two and a half years, it's still short.
- 36:05SPEAKER_04: Um, and so you've got to trust the folks uh to do their job and to be capable of doing their job.
- 36:12SPEAKER_04: So it everything ranked up based on risk aversion.
- 36:16SPEAKER_04: Uh, you know, our leadership, our civilian leadership, didn't want to trust people.
- 36:20SPEAKER_04: They just didn't.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: Is there um based on everything that he's doing and saying, is there a division between with within the the branches, um Heg Seth fans, Heg Seth haters?
- 36:34SPEAKER_01: Oh, sure.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: Oh, I mean, I would say it, I mean, the the obvious guess would be the higher ups are in the the hating them category and the downs.
- 36:44SPEAKER_04: The younger and and lower ranking folks, you know, they love the fact that he comes out and he does PT and that he, you know, he was riding around on helicopters with SEAL Team 6 the other day.
- 36:54SPEAKER_04: Like, you know, it all looks great, it all looks cool, and they think he's awesome and he's young and he talks about being a warrior and all these things.
- 37:01SPEAKER_04: And you know, I've said it a million times, people have this false sense of who he was as a as a National Guard officer.
- 37:07SPEAKER_04: Um, so there's a lot of showiness to it that people buy into because they just don't know any better.
- 37:14SPEAKER_04: But the folks who've been around a while, um, you know, and and and I know the reaction is gonna be, well, those are the folks that need to go, right?
- 37:21SPEAKER_04: There's gonna be a lot of that.
- 37:22SPEAKER_05: Sure.
- 37:22SPEAKER_04: Um, but the folks who've been around a while and and understand even what his role is better than he does, um, are not fans.
- 37:31SPEAKER_04: Uh he should be, truthfully, the Secretary of Defense's job is strategic by default.
- 37:38SPEAKER_04: In other words, you're at national level, international level, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
- 37:46SPEAKER_04: Sure.
- 37:47SPEAKER_04: Right.
- 37:48SPEAKER_04: And and he spends a lot of time, an inordinate amount of time down at the lowest tactical level doing things relating, connecting with the lowest level of the military, where I know it's great and people think it's cool, but he's also not doing his job, his strategic job at the same time.
- 38:06SPEAKER_04: So there's there's a trade-off there.
- 38:08SPEAKER_04: And and yes, there is a division within the military that that are fans and not fans for sure.
- 38:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 38:14SPEAKER_01: Um has it has he surprised you at all in any positive ways, or has he been consistently kind of what you expect hasn't hasn't changed.
- 38:24SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 38:24SPEAKER_04: Now, I the one thing that I will always give him credit for is that he he does connect with the lowest levels, which we've never seen a secretary of defense do this.
- 38:34SPEAKER_04: Never.
- 38:35SPEAKER_04: Um, and he and he has stayed consistent in his messaging.
- 38:40SPEAKER_04: Like he really, really, really does not care what people think outside of probably a very small um circle.
- 38:47SPEAKER_04: He cares what the president thinks, um, and then that very small inner circle, and that's it.
- 38:52SPEAKER_04: Yeah, and so he is not shied away from conflict, he is not shied away from going at it with people, expressing and sticking with his opinion.
- 38:59SPEAKER_04: So, you know, he he has some he has a solid amount of courage to stick to his convictions, which a lot of people would not do.
- 39:08SPEAKER_04: And I I will absolutely give him credit for that.
- 39:10SPEAKER_04: I don't agree with them all, but he hasn't backed away from he hasn't crumbled under pressure.
- 39:13SPEAKER_04: So I do give him credit for that.
- 39:15SPEAKER_01: You've actually been, you know, I know you early on when you first voice your your not fandom of of him as the the choice, you're actually always very uh level with your critiques of him.
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: You stay consistent with it, like your your can your critiques have been on point, and and I know there's people who don't like them because they're you know they don't really get the one successful.
- 39:38SPEAKER_04: I want the organization to win.
- 39:41SPEAKER_04: Like I don't have any that's my that is always my concern is that you know he is heading up the organization that is responsible for the defense of this nation.
- 39:51SPEAKER_04: This is a no-fail job, yeah, period.
- 39:54SPEAKER_04: Um, and I don't compare him to previous people.
- 39:57SPEAKER_04: Like I I've told I've said this a million times.
- 39:59SPEAKER_04: I knew General Austin, Secretary Austin, when he was Colonel Austin.
- 40:03SPEAKER_04: I've known the guy for a long time.
- 40:04SPEAKER_04: He was a massive disappointment as a Secretary of Defense.
- 40:06SPEAKER_04: Great army officer, terrible sec def, right?
- 40:09SPEAKER_04: I met Secretary Gates three times.
- 40:11SPEAKER_04: I met Secretary Panetta, I've met a lot of these folks, and I want everybody to be successful.
- 40:17SPEAKER_04: I question a lot of the things that he does because I want everybody to I want it to be a great organization.
- 40:24SPEAKER_04: So it's not a hate thing, it's a lack of I I just I don't have a lot of faith in his ability.
- 40:29SPEAKER_01: That's all yeah.
- 40:30SPEAKER_01: Uh I think it's fair.
- 40:31SPEAKER_01: I think it's fair.
- 40:32SPEAKER_01: Um, let's see who we want to talk about.
- 40:34SPEAKER_01: So we have I don't actually I didn't really have any big feelings about that.
- 40:40SPEAKER_04: This one shocked me.
- 40:41SPEAKER_01: I I it's surprised it shocked me because I just feel like I haven't heard that name a whole heck of a lot, right?
- 40:46SPEAKER_01: Like it just it just like out of the blue, it was like, oh, he's still around?
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: What?
- 40:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, okay.
- 40:51SPEAKER_04: So he might be, you know, when I was a kid, because he's Chicago area, Jesse Jackson when I was growing up was commonplace.
- 40:59SPEAKER_04: Like we heard Jesse Jackson was on TV every day almost.
- 41:01SPEAKER_04: Oh, I remember, yeah.
- 41:02SPEAKER_04: Right, but but more so in Chicago.
- 41:05SPEAKER_04: Yeah, Rama Manuel has a Chicago connection as well.
- 41:07SPEAKER_04: So there is maybe I I see it a little bit more, but you know, he is a guy who's kicked around the 2028 uh presidential run.
- 41:15SPEAKER_04: He is has been very, very public about the his opposition to the DSA.
- 41:22SPEAKER_04: Um he has given Republicans, you know, some credit where you know he thinks is appropriate.
- 41:29SPEAKER_04: Um, so he's been really playing a moderate Democrat, which I thought made him potentially the most dangerous Democratic candidate because he's he's not a moderate, right?
- 41:41SPEAKER_04: He is he is a an Obama acolyte, that's who he is.
- 41:45SPEAKER_04: Um and so he popped into the news yesterday, Monday.
- 41:50SPEAKER_04: Oh, by the way, folks, Wednesday.
- 41:52SPEAKER_04: It's now about 10 minutes till six on the East Coast, Wednesday.
- 41:56SPEAKER_04: Um, but he popped into the news cycle because he endorsed uh what's his name?
- 42:01SPEAKER_04: Al Sayed from Michigan.
- 42:03SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 42:04SPEAKER_04: Which is out of character for him, and he let it slip that he is endorsing him so that the Democrats win that seat.
- 42:12SPEAKER_04: He doesn't care who it is, it is about power, which tells you up front he will lie to you, he will not be truthful.
- 42:21SPEAKER_04: Everything he does is calculated, and it is about gaining power, not about what he's not for what he stands for or anything else.
- 42:28SPEAKER_04: So you let the cat out of the bag.
- 42:30SPEAKER_04: Um, and I I hope people pay attention to it because his name is gonna cycle back around for 2028.
- 42:37SPEAKER_04: It may go away quickly, but he is that moderate, you know, uh Democrat candidate that's gonna be in the mix.
- 42:45SPEAKER_04: You wait and see.
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: Mm-hmm.
- 42:46SPEAKER_01: Yep, very interesting.
- 42:48SPEAKER_01: He's uh, you know, he's the cliche, isn't he?
- 42:50SPEAKER_01: I mean, he just is the the absolute cliche of what people think.
- 42:54SPEAKER_01: And it's not what they think of just Democrats, they think that of Republicans too.
- 42:59SPEAKER_01: You're fair weather, you know, one.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: So they'll just blow any which way the wind directs them to, you know, whichever, whichever, um, whatever looks most likely to win is that's what they that's what they believe in wholeheartedly, until something else, you know, sounds better.
- 43:16SPEAKER_04: I would bet that if he gains any traction whatsoever, he will get President Obama's endorsement because very early somebody will ask that question of President Obama.
- 43:25SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 43:25SPEAKER_04: And they will say, well, he was, you know, what I think he was Obama's chief of staff, right?
- 43:29SPEAKER_04: You know, like are you gonna endorse him?
- 43:31SPEAKER_04: Is that your guy?
- 43:32SPEAKER_04: Are you, you know, and President Obama will be himself and he'll tap dance around.
- 43:36SPEAKER_04: But if he gains any momentum at all, that'll be Obama's guy, and that's gonna carry a lot of weight.
- 43:41SPEAKER_01: I was I was literally just gonna ask you does Obama's uh endorsement carry the weight that it once did?
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: It still does, you think?
- 43:50SPEAKER_04: More so than the Clintons, more so than the Clintons at this point.
- 43:53SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 43:54SPEAKER_01: Because I I feel like uh I feel like his wife is doing one bang up job of completely emasculating him.
- 44:00SPEAKER_04: She always has.
- 44:02SPEAKER_04: There's there's a word for that, which I'm not going to use on this show, but that he's been in her pocket for years.
- 44:07SPEAKER_04: Like he does what he's told.
- 44:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, big time.
- 44:10SPEAKER_01: So crazy.
- 44:11SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 44:13SPEAKER_01: Um, who else do we have?
- 44:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, this one, um, this one's good.
- 44:16SPEAKER_01: This one's good.
- 44:18SPEAKER_01: I good as far as I mean, it's good.
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: All the topics are good, don't get me wrong.
- 44:21SPEAKER_01: Um, but it's good because I think as I think it's a great conversation.
- 44:24SPEAKER_01: I think it's an interesting conversation to have.
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: Um, should we stop naming buildings after living politicians?
- 44:33SPEAKER_01: I mean, I don't know, maybe we should stop naming them after politicians, period.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: Can we name them after something better?
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: You know.
- 44:42SPEAKER_04: So everybody's everybody's favorite Southern politician, um, Senator Kennedy, is the one who brought this up.
- 44:48SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 44:49SPEAKER_04: Um, and it really did revolve around the Kennedy Trump center naming issue.
- 44:55SPEAKER_04: And he said it out loud.
- 44:56SPEAKER_04: And again, folks, he's a Republican.
- 44:58SPEAKER_04: And so, you know, he he's listen, that guy doesn't filter for anybody.
- 45:03SPEAKER_04: Zero filter.
- 45:04SPEAKER_04: And he said it.
- 45:05SPEAKER_04: He said we should not be naming government buildings of any kind after living politicians.
- 45:10SPEAKER_04: Wait for the eulogy, right?
- 45:12SPEAKER_04: Wait until they're gone.
- 45:14SPEAKER_04: Um and so I I don't what do you think?
- 45:17SPEAKER_04: I agree with it.
- 45:18SPEAKER_01: I agree with him.
- 45:19SPEAKER_01: I agree with him.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: And you know, and I say that with love for Trump.
- 45:22SPEAKER_01: I I always give a little preface.
- 45:23SPEAKER_01: Yes, I have not lost my love for President Trump.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: And I have always been consistent in saying I love Trump.
- 45:29SPEAKER_01: There are things that he does and says that I don't love.
- 45:32SPEAKER_01: Period, end of story.
- 45:33SPEAKER_01: And this was one of them.
- 45:34SPEAKER_01: I did not like the slapping his name on, you know, the Kennedy Center.
- 45:39SPEAKER_01: Um, I just didn't see that the reason or the point for it.
- 45:42SPEAKER_01: It just seemed, you know, well, I think what it was, which was self-congratulatory, self, you know, indulgent and selfish.
- 45:51SPEAKER_01: And I I did not care for it.
- 45:54SPEAKER_01: And I also did not like it for the fact that we knew that immediately there would be, you know, pushback for it.
- 46:01SPEAKER_01: And of course, and of course there, of course there was.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: So it just it becomes another thing that he was, you know, it it was something he was not likely to win, in my opinion.
- 46:10SPEAKER_01: And that's without knowing logistics.
- 46:12SPEAKER_01: I was just using, you know, what I consider to be common sense, that of course there's gonna be pushback for it.
- 46:17SPEAKER_01: And how can you justify putting your own name on that building when there's already a president's name on there?
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I I'm I'm not a fan of doing that.
- 46:28SPEAKER_01: Um, and I agree, when when you're gone, let other people lift you up that way.
- 46:34SPEAKER_04: So that's the argument, is that in this case, the board from the Kennedy Center, because of what President Trump has already done uh to improve that place, you know, they whether there was quiet campaigning from the White House or not, the board is the one who made that decision.
- 46:53SPEAKER_04: That's the argument.
- 46:53SPEAKER_04: It wasn't President Trump.
- 46:54SPEAKER_04: Now, I would tell you, very much like you're saying, some humility should have stepped in and President Trump and his advisors, whether they advised him or not, we don't know.
- 47:03SPEAKER_04: But President Trump, the final word should have been, I appreciate that very much.
- 47:07SPEAKER_04: No, thank you.
- 47:08SPEAKER_04: If you want to do it after I'm out of office, fine, entirely up to you guys.
- 47:12SPEAKER_04: But right now, leave it the way it is.
- 47:14SPEAKER_04: Like, and oh, by the way, we all knew it would be a distraction.
- 47:18SPEAKER_04: And I get it.
- 47:18SPEAKER_04: Sometimes he uses distraction to his advantage, but this is not something that anybody needed.
- 47:23SPEAKER_04: It wasn't an immediate, like it just it was all bad all the way around.
- 47:26SPEAKER_04: So I think that the premise that you should wait until they're at a minimum out of office, if not already dead, yeah.
- 47:34SPEAKER_04: Um, should kind of be the guideline for all of this stuff.
- 47:38SPEAKER_01: It kind of should be.
- 47:39SPEAKER_01: And for the word and the reason you exactly said humility, you just you want to have some humility, be a little bit humble.
- 47:47SPEAKER_01: Um, and we know, and I know people are gonna, you know, will say in the comment sections they're like, well, that's not Trump style.
- 47:52SPEAKER_01: We've known his style all it's just who he is, and it's just how he is.
- 47:55SPEAKER_01: I agree, it is.
- 47:56SPEAKER_01: It doesn't surprise me that he did that.
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: I'm not mad at him for doing it.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: I'm not gonna stop liking him because he did that.
- 48:03SPEAKER_01: I just simply thought it was a poor choice and one that was not gonna benefit him or anyone for that matter.
- 48:08SPEAKER_01: And, you know, it's just it's not the greatest look.
- 48:12SPEAKER_01: So preferably let's, you know, let's make it.
- 48:14SPEAKER_01: So I'm I'm with uh Senator Kennedy on that.
- 48:18SPEAKER_01: That's all.
- 48:20SPEAKER_01: That's all I got on that.
- 48:21SPEAKER_01: What else do we have?
- 48:22SPEAKER_01: Okay, we have two.
- 48:23SPEAKER_01: I saved the two um two kind of entertainment lane ones for last.
- 48:29SPEAKER_01: And one of the ones I'm gonna put up is sheer absurdity and um just just a hatchmaker.
- 48:38SPEAKER_04: Oh, okay.
- 48:38SPEAKER_04: We'll do this one.
- 48:39SPEAKER_01: Oh, sorry, yeah, sorry.
- 48:40SPEAKER_04: That's all right, we'll we'll laugh at this one.
- 48:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah, oh gosh, Madonna at 68 years old, takes the stage at I don't even know what award show that was.
- 48:50SPEAKER_01: VMAs.
- 48:51SPEAKER_04: It was the listen, it was the VMAs.
- 48:53SPEAKER_04: I didn't even know they had this anymore because they don't play videos.
- 48:56SPEAKER_04: Like MTV quit playing videos a couple of years ago.
- 48:59SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's all Rob Rob Durdick and reality shows.
- 49:01SPEAKER_04: Like it's ridiculous that it's like 22 hours a day and then two hours of something else, but they had the VMAs.
- 49:08SPEAKER_04: I didn't know this was still a thing.
- 49:09SPEAKER_01: I was I had no idea.
- 49:10SPEAKER_01: I don't watch any award shows.
- 49:12SPEAKER_01: The most that I get is clips, you know, on social media, and that's it.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: And that's how that's the only reason I knew that this even happened, that she is even still doing music.
- 49:21SPEAKER_01: I did not know, guys.
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: Listen, the and I and I I'm 100% dead serious about this.
- 49:27SPEAKER_01: The only music that I listen to every single day is Christian music.
- 49:32SPEAKER_01: That's all I listen to.
- 49:33SPEAKER_01: I don't listen to secular music unless it's my husband's band playing.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 49:37SPEAKER_01: So I have no idea what's going on in the pop culture world or any other genre outside of contemporary Christian music.
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: That's it.
- 49:45SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 49:46SPEAKER_01: Um, so but nonetheless, this came across my feed.
- 49:50SPEAKER_01: And I, as a 1980s Madonna fan with the black, I know you all remember this, with all the black rubber bracelets and the the the headband bow, the big bow, and the like the whole works, the whole thing.
- 50:06SPEAKER_01: I was that girl in junior high 100%.
- 50:10SPEAKER_01: She was iconic.
- 50:12SPEAKER_01: She was the bomb when I was a uh teen.
- 50:15SPEAKER_01: Was I a teen?
- 50:16SPEAKER_01: Yeah, teen, preteen.
- 50:17SPEAKER_01: Um, loved her.
- 50:18SPEAKER_01: So I say this as a once upon a time.
- 50:22SPEAKER_04: At Olderfield, I was probably 13.
- 50:25SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness.
- 50:26SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 50:27SPEAKER_04: Who's that girl to her?
- 50:28SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 50:29SPEAKER_01: How about that?
- 50:30SPEAKER_01: Never saw her in person, never saw her in concert, which is crazy that I never did.
- 50:33SPEAKER_01: But yes, never saw her in concert.
- 50:34SPEAKER_01: But nonetheless, I was a big fan.
- 50:36SPEAKER_01: So when I say these things, it is as somebody who truly did admire her once upon a time.
- 50:44SPEAKER_01: And what I'm seeing her do now is just tragic.
- 50:49SPEAKER_01: It is embarrassing, it is uncomfortable.
- 50:53SPEAKER_01: And I'm this is not ageism.
- 50:55SPEAKER_01: I 100% support anyone at any age doing what they love to do and performing.
- 51:03SPEAKER_01: If you're a performer, a singer, uh, you know, whatever.
- 51:05SPEAKER_01: Um, absolutely get up on that stage.
- 51:08SPEAKER_01: Do your thing, girl.
- 51:10SPEAKER_01: But why this?
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: Uh I'm I've I have two videos for you, if any of you missed it.
- 51:16SPEAKER_01: So we've got this one here.
- 51:18SPEAKER_01: Um, this, I think I took the volume up.
- 51:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 51:20SPEAKER_01: This made me almost want to cry.
- 51:23SPEAKER_01: That, like she's shaking.
- 51:26SPEAKER_01: It the whole thing was horrifying to watch.
- 51:28SPEAKER_01: It was frightening to watch that.
- 51:30SPEAKER_01: I'm taking that off the stage.
- 51:32SPEAKER_01: And then we have this.
- 51:35SPEAKER_05: Get over here.
- 51:38SPEAKER_05: My microphone is too short.
- 51:43SPEAKER_05: Safety in number.
- 51:48SPEAKER_01: Again.
- 51:51SPEAKER_01: When I mean, when what?
- 51:55SPEAKER_01: Where are my words, Clay?
- 51:57SPEAKER_01: Where are my words for this?
- 51:58SPEAKER_01: It is so wrong on every level.
- 52:01SPEAKER_01: And by the way, all of that whole video of her performance, it was first of all, it was tacky and gaudy.
- 52:08SPEAKER_01: And yes, I I know she has been tacky and gaudy basically her entire career.
- 52:13SPEAKER_01: That's like literally what she made her career off of, right?
- 52:16SPEAKER_04: That was her shtick.
- 52:18SPEAKER_01: That was her shtick.
- 52:19SPEAKER_01: And it just, you know, I I guess there's if you're of a certain age, a younger crowd, maybe that's cool and edgy and fun and uh badassery.
- 52:31SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 52:31SPEAKER_01: But when you're 68 wearing a a horrifying corset looking like a cross between Betty Boop and the penguin, you know, from uh oh, I mean, I'm sorry, and I'm sorry to be so mean.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry, but I it just it is what it is.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you you can be you can be kind without being nice.
- 52:50SPEAKER_01: And I'm trying to be kind here, and it's hard to even be kind, but niceness is saying that what she is doing is okay and telling her, like the people around her going, yeah, Madonna, what a great idea.
- 53:04SPEAKER_01: You should get up on that stage and uh parade yourself around in a um uh corset and be in you know, bathroom stalls and doing and writhing around on the ground and and like what kind of person says to to another person that's a great idea when it is so clearly a terrible idea.
- 53:27SPEAKER_01: And by the way, she got artist of the year.
- 53:29SPEAKER_01: Is that correct?
- 53:33SPEAKER_01: I think they buy those, don't they?
- 53:35SPEAKER_01: Do they they just whoever pays?
- 53:37SPEAKER_04: You have to assume like she should be in the you know, I'm sure she's gotten a lifetime achievement award, which I think at that point you just stop competing for everything else, like they should just take you off the ballot.
- 53:47SPEAKER_04: But yeah, like that is folks, that's that that's President Biden, his entire last term.
- 53:53SPEAKER_04: Um in a corset.
- 53:55SPEAKER_04: Uh but yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 53:56SPEAKER_04: It's all it's all bad.
- 53:58SPEAKER_04: There's nothing good about that.
- 54:00SPEAKER_04: No, that's a complete lack of self-awareness.
- 54:03SPEAKER_04: You're right, she's surrounded by yes people.
- 54:05SPEAKER_04: Like her two kids can't even look at her and say, Mom, you're not.
- 54:08SPEAKER_04: Right, mom, what are you doing?
- 54:10SPEAKER_04: Stop.
- 54:10SPEAKER_04: Like, can't.
- 54:11SPEAKER_04: Um, but it's there's physically she can't do it.
- 54:15SPEAKER_04: I it to me, it seemed very much like there was a a mental capacity decline as well.
- 54:19SPEAKER_04: Yes.
- 54:20SPEAKER_04: Um so we we, you know, that folks, not to be the doom and gloom guy, but that may be the last appearance, uh performance appearance of Madonna that we see anytime soon.
- 54:31SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I mean, honestly, what is she doing?
- 54:33SPEAKER_01: And that's a horrible way to go out.
- 54:34SPEAKER_01: It's a horrible, disgraceful.
- 54:37SPEAKER_04: Listen, there's folks out there that can do it.
- 54:39SPEAKER_04: If you've seen film footage of Mick Jagger at 80 plus, right, dancing around as he is, right?
- 54:45SPEAKER_04: That that is an exception to the rule.
- 54:47SPEAKER_04: Paul McCartney is an exception to the rule.
- 54:49SPEAKER_04: There are folks out there who can do it.
- 54:52SPEAKER_04: Keith Richards has been dead for 15 years and nobody's told him.
- 54:55SPEAKER_04: He's still doing it, right?
- 54:56SPEAKER_04: And there are folks that can.
- 54:58SPEAKER_04: She clearly is not one of them, and somebody has to break it to her.
- 55:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 55:03SPEAKER_01: I mean, it took so much propping her up, uh, literally protecting her, guiding her.
- 55:10SPEAKER_01: Um, she spoke all of her lyrics.
- 55:12SPEAKER_01: There was no actual singing that was happening.
- 55:14SPEAKER_01: She spoke her lyrics, she was out of breath.
- 55:17SPEAKER_01: Again, like you saw in that clip.
- 55:19SPEAKER_01: She was shaking because she doesn't have the physical strength to do these silly acrobatics.
- 55:25SPEAKER_01: Um, just the whole thing.
- 55:27SPEAKER_01: It's it's tragic and sad.
- 55:29SPEAKER_01: And, you know, you see it time and again.
- 55:31SPEAKER_01: And again, I'm not saying that she shouldn't be on the stage.
- 55:34SPEAKER_01: I'm not saying that she shouldn't be performing, but know your limitations, know your capabilities, and don't set yourself up for such humiliation.
- 55:42SPEAKER_01: And, you know, and all of these people that are applauding it, like you call them, they're just yes, yes men and yes ma'am women, um, just you know, on the payroll, basically.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: And I know there's always people in the comment section like, leave her alone.
- 55:55SPEAKER_01: She can do whatever she wants.
- 55:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, she can.
- 55:57SPEAKER_01: I can also have an opinion about it.
- 55:58SPEAKER_01: And this is my show, and I'm sharing it.
- 56:00SPEAKER_01: So there.
- 56:02SPEAKER_01: You know, I I just I just found it incredibly, incredibly sad and awkward and uncomfortable.
- 56:08SPEAKER_01: Um, and then what brings us to our last one, which just simply makes me sad.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: Mr.
- 56:13SPEAKER_01: Belding.
- 56:14SPEAKER_01: If you guys don't know who Mr.
- 56:15SPEAKER_01: Belding is, he was the principal from um a an absolute classic show, Saved by the Bell.
- 56:24SPEAKER_01: And um, yeah, he was just the kind of lovable dorky foil to the the kids, those crazy kids, Zach and all the rest of their antics.
- 56:33SPEAKER_01: And he was kind of a beloved character.
- 56:35SPEAKER_01: Did you watch Were You A Saved by the Bell fan?
- 56:38SPEAKER_04: Not so much.
- 56:39SPEAKER_04: Um listen, every guy my age had a crush on Kelly Kapowski.
- 56:43SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 56:44SPEAKER_04: Of course.
- 56:45SPEAKER_04: But it was a little cheesy for my taste.
- 56:48SPEAKER_04: But yeah, but we all we knew the characters, right?
- 56:50SPEAKER_04: Everybody knew who Screech was and and all of them, right?
- 56:53SPEAKER_04: And and you're right, Mr.
- 56:54SPEAKER_04: Belding was he was the adult in the room, quote unquote.
- 56:58SPEAKER_04: He was a goofball and it was a great character.
- 57:00SPEAKER_04: And uh, you know, he was for a lot of folks, he was that adult because he was the one giving adult advice in that show to a bunch of kids.
- 57:08SPEAKER_04: So if there was ever a lesson learned in Say by the Bell, 90% of the time it came from Mr.
- 57:13SPEAKER_04: Belding as the grown-up.
- 57:14SPEAKER_04: Um so he was kind of a an adult parental father figure kind of guy.
- 57:19SPEAKER_04: And he just even as a person in the interviews that I've seen with him, he just is a good guy.
- 57:23SPEAKER_04: He's just a good guy.
- 57:25SPEAKER_04: And and it's a shame.
- 57:26SPEAKER_04: So he was uh, you know, he's 75 years old.
- 57:28SPEAKER_04: I think my understanding has passed away peacefully, which is nice to know.
- 57:31SPEAKER_04: But uh yeah, just a tough one from the from the childhood, just not an easy one.
- 57:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's always sad when you're not that there were idols or anything, but just your memories, because there's so much, there's so much more tied to them, you know.
- 57:42SPEAKER_01: And I always and I've had this conversation before with people that, you know, why why do I personally get so sad and affected by the passing of people that I've never met and I don't know, you know, and of course we're talking about this happened with Hulk Hogan, was was one of them that, you know, just made me so sad.
- 57:59SPEAKER_01: And and it's because there's they're tied to a period of time in your life that you don't get back.
- 58:05SPEAKER_01: Like it just and it's nostalgia.
- 58:07SPEAKER_01: It just brings back memories, it puts you back in a time and a place where, let's face it, right, wrong or indifferent, you when you look back at the past, it's usually with those rose-colored glasses.
- 58:20SPEAKER_01: Everything is a little bit sweeter when you look back.
- 58:22SPEAKER_01: Hopefully, I mean, I hope that for everybody, that when you look back at periods of your your life, it is with nostalgia, it is with that kind of tenderness that you have.
- 58:30SPEAKER_01: And and he's a perfect example of that.
- 58:32SPEAKER_01: He was, you know, he was he was the he was the fatherly figure for a you know a generation of kids.
- 58:38SPEAKER_01: So you get affected by it.
- 58:39SPEAKER_01: Even if it is a cheesy, silly show, um, there's still a little bit of nostalgia.
- 58:44SPEAKER_01: And then when you hear that, he was just a good guy, he was just a nice guy.
- 58:46SPEAKER_01: Uh by the way, Dennis Haskins was his name, and you were right, he is was 75.
- 58:51SPEAKER_01: Um, he had Parkinson's, and um, yeah, he was just he was Mr.
- 58:55SPEAKER_01: Belding to everyone.
- 58:56SPEAKER_01: So yeah, so sorry to hear that he has passed, and and that is sad.
- 59:00SPEAKER_04: Even when they aren't like that person, like I I always go back to Bob Saget, who right uh full house, Bob Sagitt.
- 59:08SPEAKER_04: Listen, if if you knew anything about Bob Saget post Full House, you would have a very different image of Bob Sagot.
- 59:16SPEAKER_04: But everybody's default, everybody's reflex was he was the awesome dad on Full House, and when he passed away in 2022, there's a lot of heartbroken people.
- 59:25SPEAKER_04: Um but if you saw any of his adult stand-up or if you ever watched the series Entourage, you would know the other side of Bob Sagot.
- 59:31SPEAKER_01: But yes, I was a bit shooketh.
- 59:34unknown: Yeah, right.
- 59:34SPEAKER_04: But he was saying it you can't get past that childhood image of him just being, you know, the dad on Full House.
- 59:42SPEAKER_04: And Mr.
- 59:42SPEAKER_04: Belding, you know, Haskins was was the same way.
- 59:45SPEAKER_04: It's just it no matter what would have happened to him, like he's that guy.
- 59:47SPEAKER_04: He will always be, he will always be that guy to us.
- 59:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, there's like there's such a long, you know, from my generation, our generation, uh, we're only a couple years apart, dang it.
- 59:56SPEAKER_01: Um, a couple few.
- 59:57SPEAKER_01: Oh, there's a whole whole host of them that that kind of have that that feeling.
- 1:00:03SPEAKER_01: Uh Mike Seaver from Growing Pains, remember?
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_01: Um, who else?
- 1:00:07SPEAKER_01: There's so many, it's so many.
- 1:00:08SPEAKER_01: Oh, there was a Growing Pains, did I say that right?
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_01: Yeah, Growing Pains.
- 1:00:10SPEAKER_01: Oh, I was also thinking of family ties.
- 1:00:13SPEAKER_01: I can't remember the dad's name offhand.
- 1:00:14SPEAKER_01: If anybody remembers it, tell me in the comments.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_04: Um, but just these I don't remember his name as the character, and I don't know even why I know the actor's name.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_01: I know, that was actually impressive.
- 1:00:25SPEAKER_01: I bet I could come up with it.
- 1:00:26SPEAKER_01: So Alex P.
- 1:00:27SPEAKER_01: Keaton, right?
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_01: Mallory was the sister.
- 1:00:30SPEAKER_04: Justine Bateman.
- 1:00:31SPEAKER_01: Justine Bateman.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_04: Yeah.
- 1:00:33SPEAKER_04: Uh Meredith Baxter Bernie was the mom.
- 1:00:35SPEAKER_01: So good.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:00:36SPEAKER_01: The Seaver, no, not Seaver, sorry.
- 1:00:40SPEAKER_01: Um somebody's got to come up with it.
- 1:00:44SPEAKER_01: Somebody tell me in the comments.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_04: Somebody'll tell us.
- 1:00:45SPEAKER_01: Somebody will tell us.
- 1:00:46SPEAKER_01: Yep.
- 1:00:47SPEAKER_01: Somebody who's faster on the uh on the ball with that.
- 1:00:49SPEAKER_01: Um, but yeah, it's just like we said, it's it's nostalgia.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_04: And when you hear not all Bill Cosby, folks.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_04: That's the important thing, is there not all Bill Cosby?
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_01: Thank goodness for that.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_01: I, you know, I'm so curious.
- 1:01:00SPEAKER_01: I'm curious with you, Clay.
- 1:01:01SPEAKER_01: First of all, I don't know if you watched the Cosby show back in its heyday.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_01: We were big Cosby show.
- 1:01:05SPEAKER_04: I think that was the whole part of that whole lineup, I think, was like Thursday night on NBC was the Cosby show, followed by Family Ties, followed by Cheers, followed by Night Court, followed by Hill Street Blues.
- 1:01:16SPEAKER_01: You just, I mean, you just you just listed my childhood right there, right there Thursday night.
- 1:01:21SPEAKER_01: Thursday night was the best day NBC.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: Yes, that was the best lineup ever.
- 1:01:27SPEAKER_01: Um, I don't I haven't had a reason or an opportunity to do it, but I'm I'm curious as to whether I, you, or anybody watching or listening could or would be able to watch the Cosby show reruns, knowing what we know about it.
- 1:01:42SPEAKER_01: I figured it would be.
- 1:01:44SPEAKER_01: I've just simply never seen it.
- 1:01:45SPEAKER_01: And I don't know.
- 1:01:46SPEAKER_04: It's out there.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_04: Um, I I don't know who's watching it, but you know, it is.
- 1:01:50SPEAKER_04: I I'm it kind of makes me cock my head a little bit every time I see it in the in the menu in the TV in the channel guide.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_04: Yeah, it's kind of like scrolling through channels.
- 1:01:58SPEAKER_04: I'm like, seriously, that that hasn't like that's gone, huh?
- 1:02:01SPEAKER_04: That's still on, huh?
- 1:02:02SPEAKER_04: Okay, all right.
- 1:02:03SPEAKER_01: There's a handful that I actually would would love to watch, like family ties.
- 1:02:08SPEAKER_01: I would, if that is on somewhere, I would actually watch that because it's just again, it goes back to such an innocent time.
- 1:02:15SPEAKER_01: That's kind of all I watch now.
- 1:02:17SPEAKER_01: Things that are are set at like 90s and behind.
- 1:02:22SPEAKER_01: Before, yeah.
- 1:02:23SPEAKER_01: Anything anything there, or even early 2000s is okay.
- 1:02:26SPEAKER_01: It's before like the woke agenda became so blatant that you know.
- 1:02:31SPEAKER_01: So yeah, so I don't know.
- 1:02:32SPEAKER_01: You guys tell me what you think if you can watch it or not.
- 1:02:34SPEAKER_04: That's the pre-Elen show, Ellen DeGeneres sitcom, as she was the first character who came out on television.
- 1:02:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's right.
- 1:02:44SPEAKER_04: That was it.
- 1:02:45SPEAKER_04: That was that was the that's the timestamp, folks.
- 1:02:48SPEAKER_04: That's when everything changed.
- 1:02:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I think you're right.
- 1:02:50SPEAKER_01: It was it was the moment where they said, let's can we push the envelope?
- 1:02:53SPEAKER_01: And the answer was, yes, we can.
- 1:02:56SPEAKER_01: Well, let's keep pushing it.
- 1:02:57SPEAKER_01: Let's see what else we can do.
- 1:02:58SPEAKER_01: And and that's what they did.
- 1:03:00SPEAKER_01: And then they ruined it all for us.
- 1:03:01SPEAKER_01: Lots of good shows have come out since.
- 1:03:03SPEAKER_01: I've seen many, many good shows.
- 1:03:04SPEAKER_01: I will watch The Office all day, every day, Parks and Rec, I'll watch it all day, any day, whole bunch of other ones.
- 1:03:11SPEAKER_01: But learn that, I don't know.
- 1:03:13SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 1:03:14SPEAKER_01: All right, I'm gonna keep rambling here if we'd if I don't uh if you don't rein me in here, Clay.
- 1:03:19SPEAKER_04: I think we're done, right?
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_04: We hit them all.
- 1:03:20SPEAKER_01: I think we're done.
- 1:03:21SPEAKER_01: We hit them all.
- 1:03:22SPEAKER_01: That was like eight, eight topics, I think.
- 1:03:24SPEAKER_01: So yay us.
- 1:03:25SPEAKER_01: We did it.
- 1:03:26SPEAKER_01: Oh my goodness.
- 1:03:27SPEAKER_01: All right, my friends, thank you all for watching.
- 1:03:28SPEAKER_01: We love when you join us.

- 1:03:43SPEAKER_04: You and I are both traveling.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_01: That's right.
- 1:03:45SPEAKER_04: Yeah, oddly enough, usually one of us is traveling and one of us is stationary, and somebody can cover the show.
- 1:03:50SPEAKER_04: But next week, Elsa and I are both traveling.
- 1:03:52SPEAKER_04: Um, you are going to Florida to see those amazing grandbabies.
- 1:03:55SPEAKER_04: I am going up to Canada, believe it or not, to uh uh go do some stuff that I can't talk about.
- 1:04:02SPEAKER_01: Um things at the place, but the stuff and the things.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_04: That is correct.
- 1:04:07SPEAKER_04: When you have to sign an NDA to go do something, then you don't talk about it.
- 1:04:11SPEAKER_01: I don't talk about it.
- 1:04:12SPEAKER_04: Um we're both we're both off next week.
- 1:04:14SPEAKER_04: So enjoy this show, and we will be back in two weeks.
- 1:04:16SPEAKER_04: And from me, as always, keep moving, keep shooting.
- 1:04:18SPEAKER_01: Take care, guys, see you next week.
- 1:04:19SPEAKER_01: No, see you the week after.
- 1:04:20SPEAKER_01: Sorry, I did it again.
- 1:04:21SPEAKER_01: Can't help it.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_01: Two weeks.
- 1:04:22SPEAKER_01: See you in two weeks.
- 1:04:23SPEAKER_01: Bye.
- 1:04:24SPEAKER_03: The headlines will change by tomorrow, but the patterns won't.
- 1:04:28SPEAKER_03: Thanks for spending this time with us.
- 1:04:30SPEAKER_03: We'll be back to keep asking the harder questions and telling the quieter truths.
- 1:04:33SPEAKER_03: Until then, stay grounded, be discerning, and we'll see you next time.
