- 0:00Speaker 1: Alright. You know what? Let's do it as a smoke
- 0:07Speaker 1: show intro. Smoke show slash chill show. Duffy want a
- 0:11Speaker 1: pucky to start with?
- 0:12Speaker 2: Sure, I gotta find it.
- 0:14Speaker 1: If it's on there.
- 0:17Speaker 2: Yeah, I got it over here.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Awesome, cool, cool. Yeah, whenever you're ready, sir. We'll get
- 0:22Speaker 1: high and do this shit.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Alright, we're going five, four, three.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Because fuck you, that's why, is a founding member of
- 0:30Speaker 1: the Odd Pods Media Network.
- 0:42Speaker 3: Hey Duffy, wanna puffy?
- 1:08Speaker 2: I hate you so much.
- 1:10Speaker 1: And yes, I would. Hell yo, hell yo. Yeah, you
- 1:14Speaker 1: heard me. Fuck, we already started this horrible. Hell yeah.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Fucking great. Hello and welcome to BFYTW. Yet a smoke show.
- 1:25Speaker 1: Yet a chill show. Before I say a chill smoke show.
- 1:31Speaker 1: Fuck yeah, that's what we're doing this week. Aaron's not here.
- 1:34Speaker 1: I can't even remember where the fuck he went. I
- 1:36Speaker 1: think he was doing a book thing again for all
- 1:38Speaker 1: the smart author people. But, like, he's out, like, doing
- 1:42Speaker 1: his thing. Doing his pantsless thing. So, Augie and I
- 1:46Speaker 1: are here to just fucking chill and smoke this... Holy crap, dude.
- 1:55Speaker 1: The fuck? Why is everything not working right this morning?
- 1:59Speaker 1: This is fucked up. Let's just get high and see
- 2:02Speaker 1: what the fuck happens. Because who knows? This might not
- 2:04Speaker 1: even come out now. I don't even fucking know what's
- 2:06Speaker 1: going to happen. We're going to smoke this King Palm freaking...
- 2:10Speaker 1: blunt wrap that has a flavor thing, a fruit passion
- 2:14Speaker 1: in it with some really nice herb and get this
- 2:17Speaker 1: fucking thing going because Jesus Christ. Let's hope this like
- 2:26Speaker 1: kick starts this because if not, like no joke, the
- 2:28Speaker 1: whole intro of this thing is going to be just
- 2:29Speaker 1: cut and I'll just be like, yo, here's a chill show. Like,
- 2:32Speaker 1: fuck it. Just get right into whatever the fuck we're
- 2:36Speaker 1: talking about instead.
- 2:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it doesn't help that we're dealing with stomach issues,
- 2:42Speaker 2: and it has already completely wiped me, and the day
- 2:45Speaker 2: hasn't even started yet. Yeah. Like, I'm already exhausted.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Like, today started way slower than it should have, and
- 2:51Speaker 1: that's basically my fault. I got out of bed way
- 2:54Speaker 1: later than I wanted to. We had to get stuff done,
- 2:56Speaker 1: and it was like, by the time we got back here,
- 2:58Speaker 1: I was like, we've got to do this recording. And
- 3:01Speaker 1: as much as I'd like to wait to do it
- 3:02Speaker 1: later on, I know if we wanted to do it later,
- 3:04Speaker 1: it would not come out either, because I just want
- 3:06Speaker 1: to chill today. Like, I am in that mode. And
- 3:09Speaker 1: then I was like, well, why not have a fucking
- 3:10Speaker 1: chill show? And then he's like, yeah, let's just smoke
- 3:16Speaker 1: and then have a chill show, and then we'll just
- 3:17Speaker 1: see what happens. We can update you guys on at
- 3:19Speaker 1: least what we've been up to. I know Aaron's not here,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and he's very excited to talk about his new device.
- 3:28Speaker 1: The WinGDP or whatever the fuck it was. GPU. We
- 3:33Speaker 1: should talk all about that so he can't talk about it.
- 3:36Speaker 1: He can pretty much run everything. No, I'm just kidding.
- 3:38Speaker 1: I'd be fucked up. I'd be fucking wrong.
- 3:40Speaker 2: I know nothing about it.
- 3:42Speaker 1: This is a mini computer. Okay, seriously, let's get the
- 3:44Speaker 1: fuck out of this shit. Augie, talk about something, anything. No,
- 3:51Speaker 1: that's fair.
- 3:54Speaker 2: It's just been a long week, and as I said,
- 3:58Speaker 2: at least I'm currently going through some stomach issues, so
- 4:01Speaker 2: it's kind of... Not been a good weekend for sitting
- 4:06Speaker 2: down and trying to be entertaining, I'll be honest.
- 4:08Speaker 1: Yeah, which sucks. I'm sorry. How about we do this?
- 4:11Speaker 1: Let's talk about the last episode. Just a little bit.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I don't want to go too in-depth because I know
- 4:15Speaker 1: we got some comments and stuff. But from what I
- 4:19Speaker 1: can tell, it seems like everybody had a good time
- 4:22Speaker 1: with the Beefy Eopardy episode that, luckily enough, we had
- 4:26Speaker 1: my parents on and they were contestants for, which was
- 4:30Speaker 1: just fucking funny shit. So I wanted to bring that
- 4:33Speaker 1: up now before we got into breaks in the comments
- 4:35Speaker 1: and stuff, mostly because if you haven't heard that episode
- 4:38Speaker 1: or seen it yet, if you're on Patreon, you can
- 4:39Speaker 1: watch the video version. Fucking go check that out now. Like,
- 4:42Speaker 1: pause this, go back, check that out. Because that shit
- 4:44Speaker 1: was just, it was great. And I'm not saying it's
- 4:47Speaker 1: going to be the precedent for the standard from this
- 4:51Speaker 1: point forward for Beefy Eberty, in my opinion. But I
- 4:53Speaker 1: think it was one of the best ones we've had. Like,
- 4:56Speaker 1: the category is it was great and it was a change.
- 4:58Speaker 1: It's something we don't normally do with those types of categories,
- 5:01Speaker 1: you know. So it's a little different.
- 5:03Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 5:04Speaker 1: What do you think? Because I know those are categories
- 5:06Speaker 1: you were specialized in at all and you were one
- 5:07Speaker 1: of the contestants.
- 5:08Speaker 2: I mean, Aaron does a really good job at just
- 5:13Speaker 2: coming up with good trivia. So you know them or
- 5:17Speaker 2: you don't. That's kind of how it goes. But yeah,
- 5:21Speaker 2: guest shows are always fun because it's always fun getting
- 5:24Speaker 2: the same reaction every single time. Everyone being nervous or
- 5:29Speaker 2: unsure in the beginning and then towards the end it's
- 5:31Speaker 2: like begging to do it again.
- 5:33Speaker 1: Yes and it's true too i think that goes with
- 5:36Speaker 1: almost anybody who goes on to anything so you've.
- 5:39Speaker 2: Gotten the same exact reaction from everybody everybody who's been
- 5:42Speaker 2: on the show is the same thing as like once
- 5:43Speaker 2: they've been on it once they want to be on
- 5:45Speaker 2: it again which i suppose is a good thing.
- 5:47Speaker 1: Yeah and it's a lot of fun everybody gets to
- 5:50Speaker 1: do their thing and have fun doing it you know
- 5:52Speaker 1: make other people laugh and shit it's just it's just
- 5:54Speaker 1: a good time all around um so definitely go back
- 5:57Speaker 1: check that out um Let's get out of that because
- 6:00Speaker 1: I don't want to get too much into that because
- 6:02Speaker 1: of later on stuff.
- 6:05Speaker 3: Fuck.
- 6:05Speaker 1: I don't know. Do you want to get into gaming
- 6:07Speaker 1: things a little bit?
- 6:09Speaker 2: We didn't talk about gaming. We're not doing anything new.
- 6:11Speaker 1: Nothing new. We jumped into Grounded 2, which was released
- 6:17Speaker 1: not too long ago.
- 6:18Speaker 2: Yeah, we're playing through Obsidian Entertainment's Grounded 2. that is
- 6:24Speaker 2: slowly being pumped out of new content, mostly because they
- 6:28Speaker 2: were tapped by Xbox and Microsoft to go do a
- 6:32Speaker 2: Vegas remake, and that's the only thing we really care about.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Oh my god, yes.
- 6:36Speaker 2: We're big fanboys of Obsidian Entertainment because of their previous works,
- 6:42Speaker 2: but that's pretty much the only thing we're really looking
- 6:45Speaker 2: forward to. But yeah, we're going through Grounded 2 right now.
- 6:49Speaker 2: We technically have already played through up to current.
- 6:54Speaker 1: Pretty close to it, yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: But we did so in a way that we didn't
- 6:58Speaker 2: really experience it.
- 7:01Speaker 1: We missed a lot of the story.
- 7:01Speaker 2: We missed a lot of stuff. So we're going back,
- 7:03Speaker 2: just us going back through it again.
- 7:05Speaker 1: Yeah, like a house server type of thing. So it's
- 7:08Speaker 1: pretty nice. We're really taking our time, though. Yeah. I
- 7:13Speaker 1: think we haven't progressed anything from the beginning.
- 7:16Speaker 2: Yeah, we made a house rule that essentially if not
- 7:19Speaker 2: everybody is on, we aren't progressing, period. You can go
- 7:24Speaker 2: around and go get gear, explore to an extent. You
- 7:30Speaker 2: can build, but you're not allowed to go and do
- 7:34Speaker 2: story elements. You're not allowed to go unlock something because
- 7:37Speaker 2: you really, really want to do it, but it'll... forward
- 7:40Speaker 2: things ahead, stuff like that. Like, yeah, we don't do
- 7:42Speaker 2: any of that.
- 7:43Speaker 1: No. Which has been awesome because it's like, oh, cool,
- 7:45Speaker 1: none of us are going to miss anything. But at
- 7:47Speaker 1: the same time, I'm like, why can't I find half
- 7:49Speaker 1: the shit? I'm like, oh, yeah, because we haven't gotten
- 7:50Speaker 1: to that point to unlock the thing that shows us
- 7:52Speaker 1: where things are. And I'm like, oh, fuck.
- 7:55Speaker 2: Also, I've noticed when it comes to these types of games, too,
- 7:57Speaker 2: I also have to restrict myself in many ways because
- 7:59Speaker 2: it is extremely easy to get into that, like, the
- 8:02Speaker 2: optimized mindset.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Right, right, which you get into hardcore. I do, but....
- 8:10Speaker 2: I honestly would say that I am not– I don't
- 8:12Speaker 2: really because there is a much– there's a huge difference
- 8:17Speaker 2: between optimized building and aesthetically pleasing stuff. I do a
- 8:24Speaker 2: mixture of the both. I make it so that way
- 8:27Speaker 2: it's convenient, easy, and makes sense.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Right.
- 8:29Speaker 2: But I also want to make sure that it cosmetically
- 8:32Speaker 2: or aesthetically.
- 8:32Speaker 1: It looks good. Like you're actually designing something.
- 8:35Speaker 2: I could just do a fucking like a 10 by
- 8:38Speaker 2: 10 brick of just everything with on top of each other.
- 8:42Speaker 2: And it would be far more optimized for our needs.
- 8:45Speaker 1: With a bench in the center or something. Yeah.
- 8:47Speaker 2: And everything just around it, like right around it. Not like.
- 8:50Speaker 2: the way I have it set up where they're like
- 8:51Speaker 2: in nice little cubbies or, or really well organized with everything. No,
- 8:56Speaker 2: like I could literally just shove everything into a fucking
- 8:59Speaker 2: brick and it would work just the same, but it
- 9:01Speaker 2: wouldn't look good.
- 9:03Speaker 1: No. Right. And it's crazy too. Cause it's either like, Oh,
- 9:06Speaker 1: this is a survival building fighting. Like you're just trying
- 9:08Speaker 1: to get like, get through this game. I'm actually good
- 9:11Speaker 1: on that right now. You keep smoking. If you'd like
- 9:13Speaker 1: to help yourself. Go for it. Um, And it's something like,
- 9:18Speaker 1: you don't have to worry about that shit. You can
- 9:19Speaker 1: just like, oh, I'm going to build up, I put
- 9:20Speaker 1: all my shit there, get what I need, and go
- 9:22Speaker 1: out and play the game. Which is usually what I do.
- 9:24Speaker 1: I build the bare minimum in practically every game, though.
- 9:28Speaker 1: But when Augie does it, like, yeah, we'll start with like, okay,
- 9:31Speaker 1: we need these ten elements right away. Somewhere safe, you know,
- 9:35Speaker 1: water supply, food supply, building supplies, all this shit, crafting shit.
- 9:38Speaker 1: And Augie will have this all like, bam, done. And
- 9:41Speaker 1: then once the main shit's done, Augie is like, alright,
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'm going to start building something over here is gonna
- 9:46Speaker 1: be the real thing. So this is our starter, like,
- 9:50Speaker 1: we got stranded on this island, this is our starter thing,
- 9:53Speaker 1: was make sure we can survive, cool. While we're surviving,
- 9:56Speaker 1: Augie's like, I'm building a complex.
- 10:00Speaker 2: Over here.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Multiple buildings, multiple floors. And it's not just like, here's
- 10:04Speaker 1: a four by four room and there's a roof and
- 10:07Speaker 1: here's some stairs. Augie's like, no, there's rooms within this room.
- 10:11Speaker 2: I like specializing.
- 10:13Speaker 1: It looks so good.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Like you said, the initial start. As long as there's
- 10:18Speaker 2: an initial start base that meets all the general needs,
- 10:21Speaker 2: that's how we start. Now, that being said, there's a
- 10:24Speaker 2: lot of needs to be met in that game. Everything
- 10:26Speaker 2: from food, water, to shelter, to weapons, armor, access to materials.
- 10:32Speaker 2: And they even added this other thing called coziness. Coziness
- 10:37Speaker 2: is essentially, it encourages building. It encourages also like furnishing
- 10:43Speaker 2: and stuff like that while you're building.
- 10:45Speaker 1: Which is something that breaks. It gives you.
- 10:47Speaker 2: Direct bonuses for doing so. Like the lower bonuses just
- 10:51Speaker 2: reduce the amount of times you need to eat and
- 10:53Speaker 2: drink while you're in the proximity. But the late bonus
- 10:57Speaker 2: gives you straight up health regeneration, which is super useful
- 11:00Speaker 2: since you're constantly taking damage from everything anyways. And instead
- 11:04Speaker 2: of wasting healing items, you can just stand around for
- 11:07Speaker 2: like five seconds and be good.
- 11:09Speaker 1: While in the safety.
- 11:11Speaker 2: Of your own base.
- 11:13Speaker 1: Right.
- 11:14Speaker 2: Exactly uh but but yeah but but i i love
- 11:18Speaker 2: to specialize and one other thing one of the first
- 11:21Speaker 2: things we're doing we haven't worked on anything else is
- 11:24Speaker 2: steve decided to set up like a battle arena area
- 11:27Speaker 2: where he gets the uh the enemies which are bugs
- 11:32Speaker 2: uh to basically go after each other he had for
- 11:35Speaker 2: some reason found the one spot and i'm actually kind.
- 11:38Speaker 1: Of interested why that is too. I wish I had
- 11:41Speaker 1: the video.
- 11:41Speaker 2: He found the one spot where a lot of the
- 11:44Speaker 2: big early.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Like the mid.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Big tier like monsters slash bugs like to patrol through.
- 11:52Speaker 2: There's a giant scorpion, an orb weaver, two pombadier beetles
- 11:57Speaker 2: and like.
- 11:58Speaker 1: A ladybug and a stinkbug.
- 12:00Speaker 2: And for whatever reason they all like to converge through
- 12:03Speaker 2: this one area. And normally they just leave each other
- 12:06Speaker 2: alone But they can be encouraged to fight each other sometimes.
- 12:11Speaker 2: And a big one like the scorpion likes to also
- 12:14Speaker 2: pick fights with just about anything it sees, too.
- 12:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it does.
- 12:17Speaker 2: But there's also a prey mantis there, too, I noticed. Yeah. Yeah.
- 12:21Speaker 1: This game is, like, really cool. It's Honey, I Shrunk
- 12:24Speaker 1: the Kids. It's very nostalgia of that.
- 12:26Speaker 2: If you've never heard of Grounded before, if this is, like,
- 12:28Speaker 2: the first time hearing about it, it is Honey, I
- 12:30Speaker 2: Shrunk the Kids, but, like, survival.
- 12:32Speaker 1: From back then, too. Like, the datedness of, like, back
- 12:35Speaker 1: early 90s.
- 12:36Speaker 2: There is story elements, really good story elements. Again, made
- 12:39Speaker 2: by Obsidian Entertainment, a company that... Using the Fallout IP
- 12:46Speaker 2: made Fallout New Vegas, so if you're familiar with that game,
- 12:48Speaker 2: you know exactly what we're talking about when we're like,
- 12:50Speaker 2: it's a good fucking game. Yeah. Despite all its flaws
- 12:54Speaker 2: and bugs.
- 12:55Speaker 1: You don't care. Fallout, you don't give a fuck about
- 12:57Speaker 1: a guy who crashed.
- 12:58Speaker 2: To their credit.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I don't care.
- 13:00Speaker 2: The reason why Fallout New Vegas was as buggy as
- 13:02Speaker 2: it was because they were given like nine months to
- 13:04Speaker 2: make it.
- 13:04Speaker 1: Which is BS.
- 13:05Speaker 2: And not given any time to iron anything out or
- 13:08Speaker 2: do half of the shit that they had prepared before.
- 13:10Speaker 2: for it. With talks of them going back and making
- 13:13Speaker 2: a remaster, our hopes is as they turn around and said, okay,
- 13:16Speaker 2: we'll do this, but you're going to have to let
- 13:19Speaker 2: us have time to finish it. Because at this point,
- 13:21Speaker 2: they have a reputation that they need to protect.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Grounded 1 was fucking phenomenal.
- 13:27Speaker 2: So they can't be messing around being like, no, we're
- 13:29Speaker 2: not pumping out... No, we're not pulling another Obsidian... Not Obsidian.
- 13:34Speaker 2: Pulling out another Bethesda Oblivion remake where... They just graphically
- 13:42Speaker 2: updated the game.
- 13:43Speaker 1: Kept it broken.
- 13:44Speaker 2: But kept it broken, which.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Oh, we did it for nostalgia.
- 13:47Speaker 2: Which is fine, but the thing is, if that was
- 13:50Speaker 2: the case, then just go back and play the original. Yeah.
- 13:53Speaker 2: They already remastered the original without the better graphics.
- 13:57Speaker 1: Without costing anything for mods.
- 13:58Speaker 2: But they just made it run better. And you could
- 14:01Speaker 2: just go and buy that, and it's like half the
- 14:03Speaker 2: price of the actual remake, which is just graphically up,
- 14:08Speaker 2: but still has everything, including this save bug, where if
- 14:11Speaker 2: you only have a limited amount of saves, and then
- 14:13Speaker 2: it just crashes.
- 14:14Speaker 1: What?
- 14:15Speaker 2: That was the problem with.
- 14:16Speaker 1: You had to delete so many of them.
- 14:17Speaker 2: That was the problem with Cybernetic. He loved that game.
- 14:20Speaker 2: It was his favorite in the series. He liked it
- 14:22Speaker 2: more than Skyrim and Morrowind.
- 14:23Speaker 1: Oh, shit.
- 14:24Speaker 2: I loved Skyrim more.
- 14:25Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Skyrim's awesome. But... The little bit I
- 14:28Speaker 1: played of it.
- 14:28Speaker 2: The reason why he could never beat that game was
- 14:30Speaker 2: because he would literally get that bug where he couldn't
- 14:34Speaker 2: save anymore and he couldn't load his save anymore because
- 14:37Speaker 2: it would hit like a limited save file limit and
- 14:40Speaker 2: it just wouldn't work anymore. No shit.
- 14:42Speaker 1: Don't know why.
- 14:44Speaker 2: And they never fixed it. So like you still have
- 14:46Speaker 2: limited amount of saves so you can't be like playing
- 14:49Speaker 2: it forever. You have to kind of finish the game
- 14:51Speaker 2: at some point or you're going to be soft locked
- 14:53Speaker 2: out of doing so.
- 14:54Speaker 1: That's fucking crazy. I had no idea.
- 14:57Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 14:58Speaker 1: Goddamn old.
- 14:59Speaker 2: Among other things. But yeah, that's kind of where we're
- 15:02Speaker 2: sitting now. And again, Grounded 2 is one of those
- 15:05Speaker 2: games where we're like, we can't wait to get back
- 15:08Speaker 2: to it.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And you can ride the bugs. You can get like
- 15:10Speaker 1: fucking mounts. Yeah.
- 15:12Speaker 2: We don't have to go into too great detail about
- 15:14Speaker 2: how mechanically it is.
- 15:16Speaker 1: It's just fun.
- 15:17Speaker 2: Not that it's going to spoil anything, but we just
- 15:20Speaker 2: enjoy the shit out of it and we enjoy doing
- 15:22Speaker 2: weird stuff with it. I think we talked a lot
- 15:25Speaker 2: about like abiotic factor.
- 15:26Speaker 1: Yes.
- 15:27Speaker 2: Same idea. Survival game. But an abiotic factor, it's not
- 15:31Speaker 2: like an open honey. I shrunk the kids world. It's
- 15:33Speaker 2: like a what if you weren't Gordon Freeman in Half-Life?
- 15:37Speaker 2: You were one of the scientists that came into work
- 15:39Speaker 2: late after shit went down. And that's essentially what it is.
- 15:43Speaker 1: I never thought of it that way.
- 15:45Speaker 2: It is half-life, but you're the scientist, not the main protagonist.
- 15:50Speaker 1: Oh, my God. I didn't even think about it that
- 15:52Speaker 1: way at all, dude. That's a good point. I like that. Yeah,
- 15:54Speaker 1: because you're kind of fucked in the beginning of that game.
- 15:56Speaker 2: Yeah, you are. You literally show up to work, like,
- 16:00Speaker 2: as shit happens.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 16:02Speaker 2: Like, so you get in, you get down the elevator,
- 16:05Speaker 2: you walk into the cafeteria area, and everything's already done.
- 16:10Speaker 2: Everything is already, like, Rifts are everywhere. Aliens are fucking
- 16:14Speaker 2: up shit.
- 16:15Speaker 1: The power's all fucked up. It's only on half the day.
- 16:17Speaker 2: Half the staff is dead. The other half of the
- 16:19Speaker 2: staff went crazy and is now trying to actively kill you.
- 16:23Speaker 2: It's a good game, too.
- 16:25Speaker 1: I'm glad you got me in today, because I was like.
- 16:27Speaker 2: And you're not in an orange power suit with a
- 16:29Speaker 2: crowbar running around beating people with a fucking... I have
- 16:32Speaker 2: a chef's knife.
- 16:33Speaker 1: Yeah, you have a chef's knife if you're lucky.
- 16:36Speaker 2: You have a leg of a coffee table. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
- 16:41Speaker 1: Holy crap.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Like, you are the scientist. You are the dumbass that
- 16:45Speaker 2: still had to come into work today. Your boss called
- 16:48Speaker 2: you in like, I don't care if the world is ending.
- 16:51Speaker 2: No one's here to cover your shift and you have
- 16:53Speaker 2: to be here.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Like, that's another game too. It has like... What, up
- 16:57Speaker 1: to eight players or some shit on that one?
- 16:59Speaker 2: You could go crazy with it, and I'm sure there's more.
- 17:01Speaker 1: I couldn't even imagine. Now, we got pretty damn far.
- 17:04Speaker 2: We practically beat it. We're like, we are literally at
- 17:07Speaker 2: the last final trigger event for the ending of the game.
- 17:10Speaker 2: We just never did it because we knew that they
- 17:12Speaker 2: were going to add more in. In fact, they have
- 17:14Speaker 2: a DLC coming out in like a month or so.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Oh, no way.
- 17:17Speaker 2: We're going to be bouncing back and forth between Grounded
- 17:19Speaker 2: and the Navy.
- 17:20Speaker 1: Yeah, between the two for sure.
- 17:22Speaker 2: But same idea. I had the same... The same issue
- 17:25Speaker 2: I'll say in that game is that.
- 17:28Speaker 1: We have that. Well, I say benefit. You say issue.
- 17:31Speaker 1: In that one, it doesn't.
- 17:33Speaker 2: Have a shared world, which is a missed opportunity. If
- 17:36Speaker 2: it had a shared world, it'd be more fun. But
- 17:40Speaker 2: for that one, it's all building and stuff like that,
- 17:45Speaker 2: but a little bit different. And that's all I do
- 17:47Speaker 2: is like when we play, we don't progress unless we're
- 17:52Speaker 2: both there and we're both ready to progress. So whenever
- 17:56Speaker 2: Stevie was working or didn't want to play that day,
- 17:58Speaker 2: I would just still jump on and build. And we
- 18:02Speaker 2: would get on and all of a sudden like this,
- 18:04Speaker 2: what was this like apocalyptic, like, oh man, this is crazy.
- 18:08Speaker 2: This is scary and shit like that is now just like, oh,
- 18:10Speaker 2: this is great.
- 18:11Speaker 1: This is like a mansion.
- 18:12Speaker 2: It's got everything you could possibly need in it, but
- 18:15Speaker 2: like nothing spoiled. Like, no, he's not going to be like,
- 18:18Speaker 2: would you get this from like, oh, I went ahead
- 18:20Speaker 2: and fought the boss and got like, no, no, no,
- 18:22Speaker 2: it's fine.
- 18:22Speaker 1: We always do that shit together.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Yeah, because it's more fun.
- 18:25Speaker 1: It really is. I don't play those games and play
- 18:28Speaker 1: by myself.
- 18:28Speaker 2: I don't mind building and optimizing shit and organizing shit
- 18:31Speaker 2: by myself because I like doing that. It's kind of catharsis,
- 18:35Speaker 2: cathartic for me. But yeah, going forward and spoiling... story
- 18:43Speaker 2: mode or anything like that like i'm i'm a guy
- 18:46Speaker 2: who will optimize and i will like min max and
- 18:48Speaker 2: shit if i really want to but i won't do
- 18:51Speaker 2: so or i won't do it in a way that
- 18:52Speaker 2: ruins an experience for somebody else i i'll do it
- 18:56Speaker 2: because i want to do it but i won't do
- 18:58Speaker 2: it to break the game so that way like you
- 19:00Speaker 2: know even though if it does break the game i'll
- 19:02Speaker 2: be like yeah this breaks the game i'll only use
- 19:04Speaker 2: it for this but i'm not going to use it
- 19:05Speaker 2: for this because i don't want to ruin our experience
- 19:07Speaker 2: and If I knew I had an item, they're like, oh, yeah,
- 19:10Speaker 2: this will instantly kill the boss. They'd be like, do
- 19:12Speaker 2: you want to use it? And if the answer's no, like, okay,
- 19:14Speaker 2: we'll do it normal.
- 19:15Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll do it normal first. Let's see what we.
- 19:17Speaker 2: Because I'm always like, oh, okay, cool. This is how
- 19:20Speaker 2: we can farm him now.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, exactly. Do it normally first, and then we'll.
- 19:24Speaker 2: Figure out what we need to do to exploit it,
- 19:26Speaker 2: and that's what we do after the fact.
- 19:27Speaker 1: Right. In every RPG, practically, that I play, you can
- 19:32Speaker 1: probably contest to this, I don't put my ability points
- 19:35Speaker 1: in any of my character until the game's hard enough.
- 19:37Speaker 2: No, Steve does the opposite of exploit, which is kneecapping.
- 19:41Speaker 1: Oh, is that what it's called?
- 19:42Speaker 2: No, I don't think it's called that.
- 19:43Speaker 1: But that should be what it's called, I think.
- 19:45Speaker 2: It's handicapping actually technically is like because a lot of
- 19:48Speaker 2: people do runs like that where they're like okay I'm
- 19:51Speaker 2: going to play this game but I'm not going to
- 19:52Speaker 2: do not going to put any points on skills Because
- 19:55Speaker 2: maybe it made it too easy and they want to
- 19:57Speaker 2: see what would happen or see how far you can get.
- 19:59Speaker 2: And I've done that before. I've done that in Diablo, actually,
- 20:02Speaker 2: where I'm just like, yeah, I'm just going to level,
- 20:04Speaker 2: but I'm not going to put points in anything because
- 20:05Speaker 2: I want to see how far I can get without it.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:08Speaker 2: And in some games, you'd be surprised how far you
- 20:10Speaker 2: can actually get without doing a single thing.
- 20:12Speaker 1: Fucking cyberpunk. I did that hard. I was just like,
- 20:16Speaker 1: I have so many points.
- 20:17Speaker 2: Well, that's because... I was also into Cypher.
- 20:19Speaker 1: That's because I.
- 20:20Speaker 2: Feel like partly it's because they didn't really think about
- 20:24Speaker 2: it that far or they know their community well enough
- 20:27Speaker 2: that they're like, okay, they all want to play their
- 20:30Speaker 2: own way. Some people are going to be like, well,
- 20:32Speaker 2: I don't want to get cybernetic enhancements. I want to
- 20:34Speaker 2: go just full flesh. Or I don't want to put
- 20:38Speaker 2: any skills. I want to just be an average Joe
- 20:40Speaker 2: just doing this. And yeah, you could You can do
- 20:43Speaker 2: that in that game. The only thing I... Like, unless
- 20:46Speaker 2: you want to... Except for, like, one case where if
- 20:48Speaker 2: you want to progress the story, I think you have
- 20:50Speaker 2: to get, like, your Kuroshi eyes, which just gives you
- 20:53Speaker 2: your Corsair and allows you to scan targets or whatever.
- 20:57Speaker 1: Which you can just say at that point, like, well,
- 20:58Speaker 1: you lost your eye in a battle. It's just a replacement.
- 21:01Speaker 2: But I think the thing is.
- 21:03Speaker 1: That doesn't count. It's... In.
- 21:06Speaker 2: Lore-wise, like, correct me if I'm wrong, but lore-wise in Cyberpunk,
- 21:10Speaker 2: I think just about everybody gets some sort of, like,
- 21:14Speaker 2: eye thing.
- 21:14Speaker 1: Everybody has it.
- 21:16Speaker 2: Like, everybody has to, just because of the nature of
- 21:18Speaker 2: how society is, like, you need to be able to
- 21:21Speaker 2: have access to that shit. So, like, I've Even the
- 21:24Speaker 2: homeless have, like, eye shit.
- 21:26Speaker 1: Which is crazy.
- 21:27Speaker 2: So I'm pretty sure that's just standard. But still, you
- 21:32Speaker 2: can be like, okay, no gorilla arms, no mantis blades,
- 21:37Speaker 2: nothing that boosts your net running shit.
- 21:39Speaker 1: No hacking shit.
- 21:39Speaker 2: Or no hacking at all.
- 21:40Speaker 1: I've done that.
- 21:42Speaker 2: No hacking runs. Yeah.
- 21:43Speaker 1: That's fun.
- 21:44Speaker 2: No scan, no hacking runs. Those are fun.
- 21:45Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 21:46Speaker 2: Just go around and just destroy shit.
- 21:48Speaker 1: Right? Shit like that, dude. Like, I don't know why,
- 21:50Speaker 1: but that's fucking fun.
- 21:53Speaker 2: You can go on no killing runs and use just
- 21:55Speaker 2: non-lethal weapons like baseball bats or weapons that specifically have, like,
- 21:59Speaker 2: the modifications on them.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Oh, like, yeah, they're non-lethal. Yeah, yeah. That's so awesome.
- 22:04Speaker 2: Now, Grounded, if you were to do a specific run... Like,
- 22:09Speaker 2: we obviously haven't beaten the game because they're still adding stuff.
- 22:12Speaker 1: There's a lot. There's so much more.
- 22:14Speaker 2: Like, when we say there's a lot, they're still adding
- 22:16Speaker 2: to it. There's a lot they're still adding to it.
- 22:18Speaker 2: And we know that they're also.
- 22:20Speaker 1: We've always done the pre... What do we call it?
- 22:22Speaker 2: We've always done, like, the.
- 22:24Speaker 1: Early access. Early access stuff. For the first one in.
- 22:27Speaker 1: For them. Yeah, for them. Yeah, 100%.
- 22:28Speaker 2: We don't encourage it for very many other games because
- 22:31Speaker 2: sometimes a lot of them... get an early access and
- 22:34Speaker 2: stay there or straight up just end ahead of time.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Cause the devs give up on it on the project
- 22:40Speaker 2: or the devs feel like they profited off enough of
- 22:42Speaker 2: it and just decide, eh, it's a finished game in
- 22:45Speaker 2: our eyes. We'll just bug off. I've had that happen
- 22:48Speaker 2: to me way too many times, but like, so like, don't,
- 22:51Speaker 2: don't do early access unless you really want.
- 22:53Speaker 1: To support the company. Yeah.
- 22:54Speaker 2: Unless you really want to support that company or have
- 22:57Speaker 2: some stake in it in some way, like don't, don't
- 23:00Speaker 2: early access anything. don't pre-order anything. They always have copies.
- 23:04Speaker 2: If they're going full digital, that means they always have copies.
- 23:09Speaker 1: It's different.
- 23:10Speaker 2: It was different back in the day with physical stuff
- 23:11Speaker 2: because they could only print so much And then it'd
- 23:14Speaker 2: cost them more to do more.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:16Speaker 2: But it's not digital. There's no restriction there anymore.
- 23:20Speaker 1: Nope.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Don't do pre-orders. There's no fucking reason to.
- 23:23Speaker 1: They're making more money off you for less that you're getting.
- 23:26Speaker 1: And you're not even owning the games, apparently, half the time.
- 23:28Speaker 1: Now it's all licenses, so.
- 23:30Speaker 2: Most companies, to justify pre-ordering, they have to offer something.
- 23:36Speaker 1: Yes.
- 23:36Speaker 2: And whether it's cosmetically in the game... earlier access to
- 23:39Speaker 2: said game or something along the lines of like maybe
- 23:43Speaker 2: they'll first dlc is free i think um or battle
- 23:47Speaker 2: passes shit like that too i can't remember which game
- 23:49Speaker 2: did that like they were they're like yeah if you
- 23:51Speaker 2: pre-order whatever like the very first like dlc or very
- 23:55Speaker 2: first expansion is free but everyone after that you have
- 23:57Speaker 2: to pay whatever right um i don't remember which one that.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Was So they were incentivized.
- 24:02Speaker 2: Yeah, incentivized to do it, which is fine. That's whatever.
- 24:05Speaker 2: That means you're investing early into the game company and
- 24:08Speaker 2: their game to make sure they can turn around and
- 24:10Speaker 2: do something. But yeah, anything that doesn't offer anything, they're
- 24:14Speaker 2: just like, yeah, just pre-order. Get your game now. Get
- 24:18Speaker 2: it now. Like, okay, what do you get?
- 24:21Speaker 1: It's not worth it. It's not.
- 24:22Speaker 2: It's just not.
- 24:23Speaker 1: It's not. Like I said, if they're pushing digital, then
- 24:26Speaker 1: they always have. You have to love that company. Seriously.
- 24:29Speaker 1: That's the only way that we can justify pre-order. Obsidian, yes.
- 24:34Speaker 2: That being said, we have bought games that have not
- 24:36Speaker 2: been fully released and are still not fully released, but
- 24:39Speaker 2: still play them, and those games are still in development
- 24:42Speaker 2: to this day. It's just, obviously, smaller dev teams takes
- 24:45Speaker 2: longer to get that shit done. And you can't blame
- 24:48Speaker 2: them for that, but... But yeah, like anything like AAA games,
- 24:52Speaker 2: like I always fall into that, especially for game companies
- 24:56Speaker 2: I like, even though they're like AAA companies. I say AAA.
- 25:00Speaker 2: There's no such thing as a AAA company anymore. No.
- 25:04Speaker 2: Everybody does the same exact shit. There is no AAA.
- 25:07Speaker 2: It's all just regular.
- 25:09Speaker 1: It's either big company or indie. That's it. It's big
- 25:12Speaker 1: company or indie.
- 25:13Speaker 2: Putting out a game that isn't fucking full of bugs
- 25:16Speaker 2: and is actually as advertised is more rare than AAA
- 25:21Speaker 2: games putting out anything actually worth playing.
- 25:23Speaker 1: Yeah, like just finished. Can anybody put out a finished game? No.
- 25:28Speaker 2: Even good companies have had issues putting out, like Cyberpunk
- 25:32Speaker 2: notoriously was not a good company.
- 25:33Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 25:35Speaker 2: Take a look at No Man's Sky No Man's Sky
- 25:37Speaker 2: had one of the worst openings for their shit ever
- 25:41Speaker 2: and the dude is just going crazy They have updated
- 25:46Speaker 2: it so many times, and they haven't charged a dime
- 25:49Speaker 2: for them. That's awesome. So, like, now, if you bumped
- 25:53Speaker 2: into that game now, it is not the same game
- 25:55Speaker 2: you played last year. It's not the same game you
- 25:57Speaker 2: played 20 years ago or whatever, however long it's been out.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Oh, my God. That was fun. That was a fun
- 26:02Speaker 1: game to play. And it wasn't even crazy when we
- 26:05Speaker 1: got into it.
- 26:06Speaker 2: It's kind of funny because it's slowly becoming, like, Star Citizen, but, like,
- 26:11Speaker 2: for— I don't want to say better because I've never
- 26:14Speaker 2: played Star Citizen.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Right.
- 26:16Speaker 2: But the concept is mostly the same, which is you're
- 26:19Speaker 2: just a dude that gets– that you're part of this
- 26:22Speaker 2: greater storyline or whatever. But for the most part, you
- 26:26Speaker 2: go and do your own thing. You can do trades.
- 26:29Speaker 2: You can go and do piracy. You can go and
- 26:32Speaker 2: do exploration, treasure hunting, what have you. Fly around, wand around,
- 26:37Speaker 2: jetpack around, whatever the fuck.
- 26:39Speaker 1: Yeah, you can.
- 26:40Speaker 2: Land vehicles.
- 26:41Speaker 1: Yeah, because you can do whatever you want.
- 26:42Speaker 2: Aquatic vehicles, shit like that.
- 26:43Speaker 1: I didn't even think about that.
- 26:45Speaker 2: In Star Citizen, though, it's a whole lot of that,
- 26:49Speaker 2: but more realistic shit. But it's also a lot of
- 26:54Speaker 2: microtransaction stuff, and that doesn't blow very well over. Whereas
- 26:59Speaker 2: in No Man's Sky, you could do all that, But, like,
- 27:03Speaker 2: they put out the updates for free, including, like, any
- 27:06Speaker 2: new ships and stuff like that. The only thing they
- 27:08Speaker 2: ever charge is anything cosmetic.
- 27:11Speaker 1: And that's optional. And that's always optional, yeah.
- 27:14Speaker 2: And, yeah, but you can still kind of do all
- 27:17Speaker 2: the exact same shit.
- 27:18Speaker 1: See, that's awesome. Like, we need more companies like that, man.
- 27:23Speaker 2: You're not going to get very many companies like that
- 27:25Speaker 2: because a lot of them, those companies... I think what
- 27:30Speaker 2: happened was, is those companies made mistakes at a time
- 27:32Speaker 2: where mistakes were still being punished.
- 27:36Speaker 1: Okay. Yes.
- 27:36Speaker 2: In that, in that business, those kinds of mistakes were
- 27:40Speaker 2: still being punished and people didn't just let it happen. Um,
- 27:46Speaker 2: after COVID and things like that, people just kind of
- 27:48Speaker 2: accepted that nothing's going to be ever finished quite right
- 27:53Speaker 2: or is going to be full of bugs or whatever.
- 27:54Speaker 1: It became acceptable.
- 27:55Speaker 2: It became acceptable because there was nothing else to do.
- 27:58Speaker 1: You know, And this was it.
- 28:01Speaker 2: This is what you had.
- 28:02Speaker 1: This is what you got.
- 28:02Speaker 2: And now you have to deal with it. A lot
- 28:05Speaker 2: of games that came out during COVID, though, had that issue.
- 28:09Speaker 2: But few of them actually still turned around and got better.
- 28:14Speaker 2: But too many of them didn't. Repo, notoriously.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Oh, my gosh. Yeah.
- 28:20Speaker 2: When it came out, it was kind of bare bones.
- 28:23Speaker 2: Not really impressive in any way. And quite frustrating in
- 28:26Speaker 2: many ways. Still kind of is in short and small sports,
- 28:29Speaker 2: but like in a fun.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Frustrating way. It's frustrating because it's my own fault 99%
- 28:34Speaker 1: of the fucking time. That's the thing.
- 28:36Speaker 2: Before it was like, so in that game you have
- 28:38Speaker 2: to pick up items, drop them off at a station
- 28:42Speaker 2: to turn them in for money. And that's what you
- 28:44Speaker 2: got to do. And you got to do that per round.
- 28:47Speaker 2: The rounds increase how many times you have to do
- 28:49Speaker 2: it in a cycle. And obviously there are monsters and
- 28:52Speaker 2: shit to kind of make it difficult. The physics in
- 28:54Speaker 2: that game basically made it so that way those items
- 28:57Speaker 2: that you have to find can break or reduce in
- 29:01Speaker 2: value initially or outright break if you hit it hard
- 29:04Speaker 2: enough or hit it enough times. This made traversing tight corridors,
- 29:10Speaker 2: traversing around other players, traversing around anything very difficult because
- 29:15Speaker 2: the physics wasn't great. You would clip into things you
- 29:17Speaker 2: didn't think of, or you would misjudge how fast or
- 29:20Speaker 2: how far you were aiming or moving your mouse, and
- 29:24Speaker 2: then suddenly you were just slamming dishes into the ground
- 29:26Speaker 2: when you meant to just look down just a little bit,
- 29:29Speaker 2: so you wouldn't slam it into the ceiling. They've, of course,
- 29:33Speaker 2: fixed that and updated it and improved it over time,
- 29:36Speaker 2: and it has gotten to be one of the good...
- 29:39Speaker 2: what they call, friend-slop games.
- 29:41Speaker 1: Friend-slop.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Friend-slop games is kind of just a really new way
- 29:46Speaker 2: of just saying co-op games.
- 29:48Speaker 1: No shit.
- 29:49Speaker 2: Today, they'd consider Left 4 Dead friend-slop, I would think.
- 29:54Speaker 2: Because you're playing it with friends.
- 29:56Speaker 1: Okay. Yeah.
- 29:57Speaker 2: Friend Slop is any game where you're just doing some
- 30:00Speaker 2: menial task or doing some objective.
- 30:03Speaker 1: That doesn't really matter.
- 30:04Speaker 2: Doesn't really matter, and you're doing it with your friends.
- 30:06Speaker 1: Just doing it. Okay. So it's not like Call of Duty.
- 30:09Speaker 1: It's like, hey, we're cutting other people down, blah, blah, blah.
- 30:11Speaker 1: It's like, yeah, we're just collecting shit just to fuck
- 30:14Speaker 1: around with each other. We're all going to die, and
- 30:15Speaker 1: we're just going to keep doing it over and over.
- 30:17Speaker 1: They call it Friend Slop because you play it with
- 30:19Speaker 1: your friends.
- 30:19Speaker 2: It's not really a single-player experience kind of thing. You
- 30:22Speaker 2: wouldn't play... necessary like games like love for dead by
- 30:25Speaker 2: yourself you can but you wouldn't.
- 30:27Speaker 1: Because right it's it's more of a co-op.
- 30:29Speaker 2: Yeah um but but yeah it it kind of helps
- 30:34Speaker 2: start that lethal company started kind of helped start that
- 30:37Speaker 2: whole genre or that whole reef uh kindling of that
- 30:42Speaker 2: job co-op genre and um a lot of them are
- 30:46Speaker 2: still working on it today and But then, of course,
- 30:48Speaker 2: there's a lot that kind of, like, fall to the wayside,
- 30:50Speaker 2: and you're like, oh, that's a shame, because it was
- 30:53Speaker 2: fun and interesting, and they just didn't do anything else
- 30:56Speaker 2: with it.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Yeah, that's fair.
- 31:02Speaker 2: But I don't even remember what the subject line was
- 31:04Speaker 2: to start with.
- 31:05Speaker 1: I love how it started that way. I think it.
- 31:07Speaker 2: Had something to do with building and grounded, too.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Yeah, but we've been having fun. All yous have been building,
- 31:14Speaker 1: and I've been trying not to die. And having battle
- 31:17Speaker 1: arenas with the bugs. Yeah. Fuck. What do you want
- 31:23Speaker 1: to do, man? You want to hit a break up here?
- 31:25Speaker 2: Probably should hit a break.
- 31:25Speaker 1: We should probably hit a break. Yeah, when we get back,
- 31:28Speaker 1: we will talk about some other randomness, I'm sure. But
- 31:31Speaker 1: until then, be safe. 500 years later.
- 31:41Speaker 2: We've gotten to the mailbag. I was waiting for a
- 31:44Speaker 2: count-in to it.
- 31:45Speaker 3: I was like, ding, oh shit, it just happened.
- 31:48Speaker 1: It threw me off. My brain froze for a second
- 32:02Speaker 1: during that.
- 32:03Speaker 2: I was waiting for you to stop writing your novel.
- 32:05Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 32:05Speaker 1: I had to do the times. I forgot. I forgot.
- 32:07Speaker 2: Anyways. Yeah. This is the mailbag where people send us mail. Yes.
- 32:11Speaker 1: In a bag. So we're going to start with this
- 32:14Speaker 1: first one. Oh, and their comments. Oh, yeah. And their comments.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Which isn't mail. No.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Okay. We can't rename it. It's too funny.
- 32:24Speaker 2: No, it's too long.
- 32:25Speaker 1: So we're going to start with comments from Patreons. Which
- 32:28Speaker 1: is all we have anyway. This first one comes from
- 32:32Speaker 1: show 334. What even is normal? And the comment comes
- 32:37Speaker 1: from Bill M. I will... Wait a minute.
- 32:42Speaker 2: I will throw this out there.
- 32:44Speaker 1: God, I can't read.
- 32:46Speaker 2: No, you can read. It's just unfortunate.
- 32:48Speaker 1: Oh, correct. I will throw this out there. The grandfather
- 32:52Speaker 1: that talks in Mass Effect is Bud Aldrin. What the fuck?
- 32:57Speaker 2: I'll throw this out there.
- 32:58Speaker 1: Buzz Aldrin's the voice?
- 32:59Speaker 2: I mean, that makes sense. Wait a minute, wait a.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Minute, wait a minute, wait a minute. I need clarification.
- 33:05Speaker 1: Is he, like, depicted as Buzz Aldrin? Is he the
- 33:09Speaker 1: character Buzz Aldrin, or is it actually the voice actor,
- 33:12Speaker 1: Buzz Aldrin, doing the voice for that character?
- 33:15Speaker 2: Yes.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Holy shit, it's all Buzz Aldrin? God damn it, that's
- 33:19Speaker 1: fucking cool!
- 33:19Speaker 2: The entire Mass Effect is voiced by Buzz Aldrin.
- 33:22Speaker 1: I need to play Mass Effect. I didn't know he
- 33:25Speaker 1: was a fucking voice actor. That's fucking sick. Dude, thanks, Bill.
- 33:30Speaker 1: Acknowledging us. All right. Ready for the next one, Augie?
- 33:35Speaker 1: I think this is all from the same. It is. Okay.
- 33:40Speaker 1: These next comments are all from the same episode on
- 33:43Speaker 1: Patreon as well. I mean, the episode's free, but the
- 33:46Speaker 1: comments are on Patreon. Wow, this stuff hit me. This
- 33:50Speaker 1: comes from show 336. Beefy Eopardy with Midnight Smoke's parents. Yes,
- 33:55Speaker 1: my parents are on the episode. They're on Patreon, so
- 33:59Speaker 1: they know. But if you guys didn't know, check out
- 34:01Speaker 1: last week's episode. My parents were on it. It was
- 34:03Speaker 1: fucking fun as fuck. All right. Oh, God. This is long. Augie,
- 34:09Speaker 1: you get eight bits comment. Okay. You start it. Okay.
- 34:14Speaker 2: How about we start with the first two?
- 34:17Speaker 1: Okay, fair enough. Okay, because I thought that was last.
- 34:20Speaker 1: I might have done this out of order. First comment
- 34:23Speaker 1: comes from my father, John, who was on the episode.
- 34:26Speaker 1: He said it was a fun time and we both
- 34:29Speaker 1: enjoyed it, him being in my mom, which was awesome
- 34:32Speaker 1: because definitely want to get them back on to play
- 34:34Speaker 1: some goofier games after that shit. And then our next
- 34:38Speaker 1: comment comes from Kristen F. Such a fun episode. Stevie's
- 34:42Speaker 1: parents were great. Heck yeah, I concur. And then we
- 34:46Speaker 1: had a fucking great time because after that, We took
- 34:49Speaker 1: the whole show, and we also went to the winery,
- 34:52Speaker 1: Augusta Sun Winery, which is fucking amazing. And we hung
- 34:56Speaker 1: out there and goofed around even more, and then we
- 34:58Speaker 1: went to dinner. It was just an all-around good night.
- 35:01Speaker 1: The whole frickin' night was just a blast. All right, Augie,
- 35:04Speaker 1: you get the long comment here from 8-Bit.
- 35:06Speaker 2: Okay, so 8-Bit commented, please someone say thanks to Stevie's
- 35:11Speaker 2: parents because they made his day. They were so funny, charming,
- 35:14Speaker 2: and positive. And now he knows where Stevie.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Got it from. Okay.
- 35:19Speaker 2: The episode was wonderful, and they hope they'll be back
- 35:22Speaker 2: there one day. And I think they even mentioned that
- 35:24Speaker 2: they'd like to come back, too.
- 35:26Speaker 1: Yes, yes.
- 35:27Speaker 2: Which, again, as I've stated before, that seems to always
- 35:30Speaker 2: be the reaction is nervous energy, not sure if you're
- 35:33Speaker 2: going to like it, not sure if you're going to
- 35:34Speaker 2: be okay. And then at the end, you're just like, yeah,
- 35:38Speaker 2: let's do it again. Right.
- 35:40Speaker 1: Like, every time. Love that. He did.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Edit in.
- 35:44Speaker 2: Not just the episode was insanely fun overall. The ending
- 35:48Speaker 2: broke him completely. First Stevie's parents learn of the adverb incident.
- 35:54Speaker 2: From the fucking task.
- 35:56Speaker 1: The first task.
- 35:56Speaker 2: The first task. And then the I'll rub it in
- 36:00Speaker 2: later joke. He lost it entirely. It was 1230 AM
- 36:05Speaker 2: and if he had even a sliver of tiredness it
- 36:08Speaker 2: was completely gone.
- 36:12Speaker 1: That is awesome. Thank you, 8-Bit. Fucking love it, 8-Bit.
- 36:20Speaker 1: Goddamn dude from Germany. I love you, motherfucker. Thank you, guys.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Thank you all for all the comments. This was amazing.
- 36:27Speaker 1: The only other thing we got from the mailbag is
- 36:31Speaker 1: my parents became members of a Patreon. Of course. So
- 36:35Speaker 1: now they're going to see all the stupid shit we do.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Finally. His parents finally support him.
- 36:42Speaker 1: After decades of fucking saying, stop doing stupid shit. They're like,
- 36:46Speaker 1: you know what?
- 36:47Speaker 2: Fuck it.
- 36:47Speaker 1: You went to school.
- 36:48Speaker 2: You went to military. You became a cook.
- 36:53Speaker 1: It took the show.
- 36:54Speaker 2: A podcaster. It took that though for them to finally
- 36:57Speaker 2: be proud of him.
- 36:58Speaker 1: Fine. You did it. Fine.
- 37:00Speaker 2: Good job.
- 37:01Speaker 1: I feel accomplished.
- 37:02Speaker 2: Here's your membership.
- 37:04Speaker 1: Awesome. Well, thank you guys very much supporting us. Patreon wise. Uh,
- 37:10Speaker 1: Everybody else, if you'd like to join Patreon, it is
- 37:13Speaker 1: only $ 5 a month and it does not only include
- 37:16Speaker 1: extra content, you get video versions of the show and
- 37:19Speaker 1: early episodes and a bunch of other just bonus stuff. Again,
- 37:23Speaker 1: you can join Patreon for our free tier and get
- 37:25Speaker 1: a bunch of stuff there as well. All right, back
- 37:28Speaker 1: to the show. Thank you. Yo, we're back. You know
- 38:19Speaker 1: what that means. That didn't work at all. That didn't work.
- 38:22Speaker 1: We need to let this thing back up. We're back
- 38:25Speaker 1: from our break. I hope you all enjoyed that. It
- 38:27Speaker 1: was a lot of fun.
- 38:28Speaker 2: I hope you enjoyed the silence of not us rambling.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Of not us talking. Was it nice? I mean, it
- 38:33Speaker 1: was still us rambling a little, but not too horrible. Augie,
- 38:37Speaker 1: do you want to start? With the updates on Tara. No.
- 38:42Speaker 2: Okay.
- 38:42Speaker 1: We will go to something else.
- 38:44Speaker 2: No, that's fine. For those who don't know, Tara is
- 38:49Speaker 2: my new orange kitten. We adopted him just months or
- 38:54Speaker 2: so ago. It's been a bit now. Time flies. He
- 39:01Speaker 2: went from being probably as small as, I don't know,
- 39:07Speaker 2: my water bottle there. to quite large for a kitten.
- 39:12Speaker 2: So we're pretty sure he's going to be huge when
- 39:14Speaker 2: he's a full-grown adult.
- 39:15Speaker 1: He's going to be a big cat. His mitts are
- 39:18Speaker 1: fucking mitts, dude.
- 39:19Speaker 2: Yeah. We're like, oh, he's got huge paws. That's adorable.
- 39:23Speaker 2: He'll grow into them.
- 39:24Speaker 1: No. He hasn't yet.
- 39:25Speaker 2: If anything, they've grown alongside him. Yes.
- 39:28Speaker 1: Holy shit. I was like, oh, yeah, eventually his paws
- 39:31Speaker 1: will stop. He'll just get bigger. No, his paws have.
- 39:33Speaker 2: Just gotten bigger.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Oh, he grasps.
- 39:36Speaker 2: His body's gotten bigger, too, but his paws are still
- 39:39Speaker 2: outgrowing his body.
- 39:39Speaker 1: By a lot. It's crazy. And he's so full of energy.
- 39:44Speaker 2: He loves slapping.
- 39:45Speaker 1: Yes.
- 39:46Speaker 2: No claws, just slap. It's so funny and it feels
- 39:49Speaker 2: so weird.
- 39:50Speaker 1: You can grab your face.
- 39:52Speaker 2: We'll have to.
- 39:54Speaker 1: Put more pictures of Terror up on the Discord server.
- 39:59Speaker 2: Still getting used to the other cats. More like the
- 40:02Speaker 2: other cats are still getting used to him.
- 40:03Speaker 1: Yes, for sure.
- 40:05Speaker 2: They're teaching him temperance.
- 40:07Speaker 1: That's a good way to put it, yeah.
- 40:10Speaker 2: Tempers. It's better than saying they're beating the living shit
- 40:12Speaker 2: out of him every time he gets too close. Again,
- 40:14Speaker 2: no claws. Everybody's been good about not using their claws.
- 40:18Speaker 1: Yes.
- 40:18Speaker 2: So, and they haven't really been, the big cats have
- 40:21Speaker 2: been nipping, but not biting.
- 40:24Speaker 1: Right.
- 40:24Speaker 2: If anything, he's been biting, but that's because he's teething.
- 40:28Speaker 1: Yeah, and that's probably more of just like he needs
- 40:29Speaker 1: something and he's just playing, so it's natural to.
- 40:32Speaker 2: Like Yeah, he doesn't know any better. He'll learn as
- 40:34Speaker 2: he goes along.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Right. He's bad at them and hard enough to knock
- 40:37Speaker 1: them over, so... he runs away.
- 40:40Speaker 2: We did a an MRE video recently and he made
- 40:44Speaker 2: a debut in it and yeah he's he's a handful
- 40:49Speaker 2: now for.
- 40:50Speaker 1: Sure yes the MRE video that we've we've part of
- 40:55Speaker 1: the midnight snack with midnight smoke series as a Patreon
- 41:00Speaker 1: series I started on the free Patreon is now part
- 41:02Speaker 1: of Patreon exclusive under BFYTW and we were doing an
- 41:07Speaker 1: MRE cook in the kitchen and And we were standing,
- 41:10Speaker 1: and then Tara was watching us from the cat tree
- 41:13Speaker 1: in the area behind us. And then all of a
- 41:15Speaker 1: sudden just lapped onto Augie's shoulder as we're in the
- 41:18Speaker 1: middle of the recording. So you could definitely see this
- 41:21Speaker 1: cat loves being around Augie, loves Augie, loves being around
- 41:24Speaker 1: his face a lot.
- 41:26Speaker 2: Yeah, God. Like, it's hard to get him to stop,
- 41:30Speaker 2: especially when, like, I'm sleeping and stuff like that, because
- 41:32Speaker 2: I'm not conscious enough to stop him doing it. But
- 41:34Speaker 2: he does like to lay as close to your face
- 41:37Speaker 2: as possible, which is normal. But he loves to nuzzle
- 41:41Speaker 2: and lick my neck. And it drives me insane when
- 41:45Speaker 2: you're trying to sleep. He does it especially in the
- 41:47Speaker 2: morning because he's trying to wake me up. He's trying
- 41:48Speaker 2: to play. He's trying to get me breakfast and stuff
- 41:51Speaker 2: like that. And sometimes he does it because he knows
- 41:55Speaker 2: I usually get up to the bathroom at a certain time.
- 41:57Speaker 2: So he'll try to wake me up so I can
- 41:59Speaker 2: get up and do it. He likes just sitting in
- 42:02Speaker 2: the bathroom just.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Hanging out with me. It's kind of funny.
- 42:07Speaker 2: But yeah, he's... Again, he's a handful, and he's going
- 42:11Speaker 2: to be a lot of fun when he gets older
- 42:12Speaker 2: because he's just going to be that but bigger.
- 42:16Speaker 1: It's just amazing how great it was to like, hey,
- 42:18Speaker 1: we want to get another cat soon. We're really contemplating
- 42:21Speaker 1: getting one, and then Terra shows up.
- 42:23Speaker 2: I think he made a debut in our episode six
- 42:27Speaker 2: of The Clocktower, too.
- 42:29Speaker 1: I think so, yes. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 42:31Speaker 2: That hasn't come out yet, I don't think.
- 42:33Speaker 1: Wait a minute.
- 42:33Speaker 2: Or did it just come out from Patreon?
- 42:34Speaker 1: Was that the special Patreon one?
- 42:36Speaker 2: That might have been the special Patreon one.
- 42:37Speaker 1: That might have been the... Okay, so, some bonus stuff.
- 42:40Speaker 1: We'll talk about Clock Tower. Yeah. Let's talk about... Let's
- 42:43Speaker 1: do MREs real quick. Oh, no, we already did. We
- 42:46Speaker 1: had peppers and sausage. It was really fucking good. Go
- 42:48Speaker 1: check out the Patreon. Okay, now.
- 42:49Speaker 2: Learn how to set up an MRE.
- 42:51Speaker 1: Right? This is more fun.
- 42:52Speaker 2: Useful skill.
- 42:53Speaker 1: That show's fun. It's cool. It's great. Whatever. Clock Tower's...
- 42:57Speaker 1: becoming my more fun thing to do now. Like, I
- 43:00Speaker 1: love this. I love doing our shit here, but Clocktower,
- 43:02Speaker 1: when Aaron runs this game, it's phenomenal. If you're a
- 43:07Speaker 1: regular listener, you'll know that we have four episodes of
- 43:12Speaker 1: Blood in the Clocktower we use for our episodes so far.
- 43:15Speaker 2: And if you're a Patreon member, you've probably played it
- 43:18Speaker 2: with us.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Yes, and you've got to definitely see the videos of
- 43:21Speaker 1: this stuff, which is great. There's video versions of that,
- 43:24Speaker 1: but Aaron created a patreon exclusive blood in the clock
- 43:29Speaker 1: tower uh series um not just because it's great and
- 43:34Speaker 1: whatever it's because everybody's enjoying it no matter if you're
- 43:37Speaker 1: on the winning team or losing team at the end
- 43:40Speaker 1: if you're there for just one round or ten like
- 43:42Speaker 1: you having so much fun wow that rhymed a little
- 43:45Speaker 1: like his intro oh fuck no um and aaron does
- 43:49Speaker 1: a fucking rhyme at the beginning of each and i
- 43:51Speaker 1: think at the end of each I don't know if
- 43:53Speaker 1: he does.
- 43:53Speaker 2: It at the end.
- 43:54Speaker 1: But he definitely does it at the beginning, and it's
- 43:55Speaker 1: freaking fantastic. But the game is fun. I can't remember
- 44:00Speaker 1: how we got on the clock tower, but let's keep talking.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Go ahead, Eric. Okay.
- 44:03Speaker 2: Yeah, so those who don't know, Blood on the Clock
- 44:05Speaker 2: Tower is like a social deduction game where you have
- 44:09Speaker 2: villain and minions attempting to end the lives of the
- 44:13Speaker 2: other townsfolk in order to achieve victory, while the townsfolk
- 44:18Speaker 2: have to hang or kill the demon and minions, or
- 44:22Speaker 2: mainly just the demon, to survive and win. There are
- 44:28Speaker 2: multiple different roles that fulfill different functions and can add
- 44:32Speaker 2: a lot of chaos to the situation, as some can
- 44:36Speaker 2: also appear as something else or cause misinformation. There is
- 44:44Speaker 2: tiers of difficulty, which also add different roles. The previous
- 44:50Speaker 2: one we played before, I don't remember the name of,
- 44:53Speaker 2: was fairly simple, but I think had like a dozen plus.
- 44:57Speaker 1: Or so roles. Yeah, it was like 15 roles, I think,
- 44:59Speaker 1: at the max.
- 45:00Speaker 2: The recent one we've played was like the mid-tier, middle
- 45:03Speaker 2: difficulty one. Where we have like actual roles that give out,
- 45:09Speaker 2: purposely give out misinformation, that change information as time goes on,
- 45:14Speaker 2: that blocks information. Or straight up just like roles that
- 45:19Speaker 2: do weird and wacky things or you're forced into doing
- 45:23Speaker 2: weird and wacky things.
- 45:24Speaker 1: Right. And everybody's given an assignment randomly by the storyteller.
- 45:29Speaker 1: So you don't get to choose who you are.
- 45:31Speaker 2: You get assigned a role and that role has an ability.
- 45:35Speaker 2: And that ability is what you need to use to
- 45:37Speaker 2: deduce friend or foe. But you have to be careful
- 45:41Speaker 2: because if you openly discuss who you are, that gives
- 45:46Speaker 2: the bad team reason to find out or judge who
- 45:50Speaker 2: needs to go first kind of thing. So you have
- 45:53Speaker 2: to kind of... deduce who's your friends and basically share
- 45:59Speaker 2: information to try to deduce who's the other team. This
- 46:03Speaker 2: can lead to subterfuge. This can lead to some pretty.
- 46:07Speaker 1: Interesting one-sided stuff.
- 46:13Speaker 2: I highly encourage checking out some videos of it.
- 46:15Speaker 1: You can check out.
- 46:17Speaker 2: Our stuff too. Honestly, I'm usually like, oh yeah, we're
- 46:20Speaker 2: not a good example for doing anything. the games have
- 46:24Speaker 2: been playing out much like how you would expect. And
- 46:26Speaker 2: I feel almost in a more entertaining fashion, too, because
- 46:29Speaker 2: it's not as... It has been cases where people have
- 46:34Speaker 2: not got... I don't want to say heated, but it
- 46:36Speaker 2: has gotten stressful. Just because it is kind of like
- 46:39Speaker 2: you're trying to... Get information from people. You're trying to
- 46:42Speaker 2: get information while also not trying to spill too much yourself.
- 46:45Speaker 2: And you're purposely doing it. And if you're not used
- 46:48Speaker 2: to doing that, it can be pretty awkward and kind
- 46:51Speaker 2: of hard to achieve anything. Um, thankfully people have seemed
- 46:56Speaker 2: to get more and more comfortable. We just have to
- 46:58Speaker 2: kind of figure out the whole communication thing because a
- 47:02Speaker 2: lot of times communication is when it falls apart, it
- 47:05Speaker 2: falls hard.
- 47:06Speaker 1: Right.
- 47:06Speaker 2: Um, and that's just the only thing that needs to
- 47:09Speaker 2: be worked on now, I would say. But, uh, I
- 47:11Speaker 2: would say we, uh, the previous games we've done are
- 47:14Speaker 2: pretty good examples of an average game, um, on a
- 47:18Speaker 2: more lighter note. Uh, But the recent one that we've
- 47:23Speaker 2: done that I'm not going to talk about because, of course,
- 47:25Speaker 2: it is a Patreon exclusive.
- 47:27Speaker 1: The one previous to that wasn't, right? The quick one?
- 47:30Speaker 2: No, the quick one wasn't. You can check that on
- 47:32Speaker 2: YouTube now.
- 47:34Speaker 1: Is it even on YouTube?
- 47:35Speaker 2: The audio version is.
- 47:37Speaker 1: I don't even know what I did. It's somewhere. It's
- 47:40Speaker 1: probably on Patreon for free, though. Probably. I think that's
- 47:43Speaker 1: what we did. I mean.
- 47:44Speaker 2: I'll have to check.
- 47:45Speaker 1: No, it's on YouTube. Never mind. It's on YouTube. Thanks.
- 47:48Speaker 3: So.
- 47:50Speaker 2: Anyways, but yeah, I won't talk about the one we've
- 47:53Speaker 2: previously done, because one, it's Patreon exclusive, and two, it
- 47:56Speaker 2: is probably a really good case of, like, what misinformation
- 48:02Speaker 2: can do to dismantle everything.
- 48:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:08Speaker 2: And but yeah, it's a great it's a great fun game.
- 48:12Speaker 2: I enjoy the shit out of it for some reason.
- 48:14Speaker 2: I'd be not a very social person. I don't know
- 48:17Speaker 2: if podcasting brought it out of me or my previous
- 48:20Speaker 2: experiences with similar games kind of already prepared me for
- 48:25Speaker 2: what I need to do and what I need to
- 48:26Speaker 2: achieve and all that. But I've been enjoying the shit
- 48:30Speaker 2: out of it. And it's also been incredibly funny watching
- 48:33Speaker 2: people's reactions to my ability to both lie and tell
- 48:37Speaker 2: the truth. And yet nobody knows what's true or not
- 48:40Speaker 2: when it comes out of my mouth.
- 48:41Speaker 1: Augie's win streak. I don't have a win streak. Your
- 48:47Speaker 1: KD is insane.
- 48:48Speaker 2: My KD is not insane.
- 48:50Speaker 1: I'd say so.
- 48:51Speaker 2: If you're talking my KD as like a demon, sure.
- 48:54Speaker 1: I'm saying your games overall.
- 48:55Speaker 2: Because that's the nature of it.
- 48:56Speaker 1: Your plus minus. How about that? Games you've won versus
- 49:00Speaker 1: games you've lost.
- 49:00Speaker 2: My plus minus is even.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Is it? My plus minus is even.
- 49:03Speaker 2: Yeah. No, I've won as much as I've lost. I'm
- 49:07Speaker 2: pretty sure.
- 49:08Speaker 1: Wow. I could have swore you won like a ton
- 49:13Speaker 1: of them. It seems like you have.
- 49:15Speaker 2: One person can make a difference, but not all the time.
- 49:19Speaker 1: No, but I. I just thought you were on the
- 49:20Speaker 1: winning team more. Just because I know you're really good
- 49:23Speaker 1: at the information and figuring stuff out.
- 49:25Speaker 2: That's because every time you've won, I've been on your team.
- 49:27Speaker 1: Is that why?
- 49:28Speaker 2: Except for like one instance.
- 49:31Speaker 1: Oh, that's the one thing.
- 49:32Speaker 2: Yeah, the one before it.
- 49:33Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. That was funny.
- 49:36Speaker 2: But that's pretty much that.
- 49:38Speaker 1: But Clock Tower is great. It's a fun game. It's
- 49:42Speaker 1: something you can kind of play along with, too, at home,
- 49:45Speaker 1: like during. You can get your notepad out. You can
- 49:47Speaker 1: look up what the roles of everybody is online. So
- 49:48Speaker 1: what Aaron.
- 49:49Speaker 2: Does is that he follows a random person. He chooses
- 49:53Speaker 2: one at random. It doesn't matter who. It could even
- 49:55Speaker 2: be us if we're playing. One at random that he'll
- 49:58Speaker 2: just follow them around as the game is played. So
- 50:01Speaker 2: you don't get all.
- 50:02Speaker 1: The information from everybody.
- 50:04Speaker 2: So you don't know who is whom. Well, you kind
- 50:06Speaker 2: of do know whom is whom at the beginning because
- 50:08Speaker 2: he kind of reveals it as he's introducing everybody.
- 50:11Speaker 1: Oh, he does. Yeah.
- 50:12Speaker 2: So you know whom is whom. And you just get
- 50:15Speaker 2: an idea of like one side perspective of like, okay,
- 50:22Speaker 2: you know who is who. How did they not? figure
- 50:24Speaker 2: this out yeah but and then every night he does
- 50:29Speaker 2: have to go and uh go through everybody's roles and
- 50:33Speaker 2: what and what they can do and stuff like that
- 50:35Speaker 2: so you do ultimately do figure out who is whom
- 50:38Speaker 2: uh but you could just skip over those nights if
- 50:41Speaker 2: you don't want to be uh spoiled kind of thing
- 50:44Speaker 2: and if you want to try to figure out on
- 50:45Speaker 2: your own that's so.
- 50:47Speaker 1: Awesome I'd love that game. Yeah. And I guess, I
- 50:51Speaker 1: don't know. I don't know if I just, I'm not
- 50:53Speaker 1: even gonna say anything yet. I'll let Aaron say more
- 50:54Speaker 1: stuff about that. Cause that's his baby right now.
- 50:57Speaker 2: Yeah. I mean, that's pretty much it too. It's like,
- 51:00Speaker 2: we don't want to talk too much about it because
- 51:03Speaker 2: that one without him here, uh, it does seem kind
- 51:06Speaker 2: of weird. Cause he is the host. And yes, there
- 51:09Speaker 2: are others interesting that do interested in doing so. We
- 51:12Speaker 2: don't need to talk about that here though.
- 51:14Speaker 1: No.
- 51:15Speaker 2: Um, Like, we'll talk about it when it happens.
- 51:17Speaker 1: That's going to be great. Yeah, so we'll stop talking
- 51:20Speaker 1: about Clocktower now, but go ahead, check it all out
- 51:23Speaker 1: on YouTube, Patreon. You have it, obviously, already set up.
- 51:27Speaker 1: I'll talk about my tire debacle real quick.
- 51:31Speaker 2: Briefly.
- 51:31Speaker 1: Real quick.
- 51:32Speaker 2: I mean, it's ongoing, technically.
- 51:33Speaker 1: You know what? I'll wait. I got a slashed tire.
- 51:37Speaker 1: It wasn't, like, malicious. It was accidental.
- 51:39Speaker 2: As far as we know.
- 51:40Speaker 1: As far as... Oh, my God, I swear to God.
- 51:42Speaker 2: I mean, if it was an accident, like... If it
- 51:45Speaker 2: was what we think it is, it was by accident.
- 51:48Speaker 1: If it's the other thing and it is delicious, I'd
- 51:50Speaker 1: laugh because my mom's like, why is that on your car?
- 51:54Speaker 1: I'm like, because it's funny as fuck. So, I don't
- 51:58Speaker 1: give a fuck. It's offender now. No, it's not. No,
- 52:02Speaker 1: it's not. That one's still on there. I took one
- 52:04Speaker 1: of the things off my car that says, ah, fuck it.
- 52:07Speaker 1: One says, ice can gargle my balls into the back
- 52:11Speaker 1: of my back windshield. And then the one on the
- 52:15Speaker 1: other side says, I'm here to fuck someone's wife.
- 52:18Speaker 2: Oh, that's the one he probably took off.
- 52:20Speaker 1: Yes, I took that off. School's about to start. School's
- 52:24Speaker 1: about to start. I can't have that in my pocket.
- 52:27Speaker 1: The oldest one, I might be able to get away with.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Maybe.
- 52:29Speaker 1: Until I get told.
- 52:29Speaker 2: Yeah, someone will tell you.
- 52:32Speaker 1: I park my car somewhere special.
- 52:33Speaker 2: Not because of the other, it's probably because of the
- 52:35Speaker 2: balls part.
- 52:36Speaker 1: Yeah. This is funny. I like this shit. But, yeah,
- 52:42Speaker 1: so the tire had a very big inch and a
- 52:44Speaker 1: half gash through the sidewall on part of the tread,
- 52:46Speaker 1: so I had to get it replaced. Finally got it done,
- 52:49Speaker 1: which is great, because now the car drives so much better.
- 52:52Speaker 1: But now, because I can, everything sounds great when it's driving.
- 52:56Speaker 1: I heard this fucking rattling noise, and it was driving
- 53:00Speaker 1: me fucking apeshit. I'm like, what the fuck is that
- 53:03Speaker 1: goddamn sound? So I got home at one point, and,
- 53:06Speaker 1: you know, I parked, and I hobbled underneath the fucking car.
- 53:10Speaker 1: And I'm looking, I'm like, the fuck, I'm, like, smacking
- 53:12Speaker 1: some shit. I'm like, the fucking heat shield that covers
- 53:15Speaker 1: the fucking muffler and shit for the exhaust that's, like,
- 53:19Speaker 1: right underneath the fucking gas tank. All four bolts are
- 53:22Speaker 1: rusted through so the heat shield's just, like, flopping on
- 53:25Speaker 1: top of the fucking shit. I mean, it's not going
- 53:28Speaker 1: to go anywhere because it's, like, molded to it. It can't, like,
- 53:30Speaker 1: come out. It would have done it by now. But
- 53:32Speaker 1: apparently this is so fucking common that everybody on YouTube
- 53:36Speaker 1: is like, yeah, you can go buy another set of
- 53:38Speaker 1: bolts and another one of these things. You can get
- 53:41Speaker 1: them from the Honda parts store for like 30 bucks.
- 53:43Speaker 1: And the bolts are like a buck 50 a piece
- 53:45Speaker 1: or whatever you need for them. But is this going
- 53:48Speaker 1: to fucking do it again? And I'm like, that is
- 53:51Speaker 1: such fucking shit. And this is what we do. Get
- 53:55Speaker 1: metal strapping that has the holes in it. If the
- 53:59Speaker 1: bolts need to get replacing, just take the bolts out,
- 54:01Speaker 1: put it in, put a new bolt in with the strapping.
- 54:03Speaker 1: The strapping would be like two inches long. It's not
- 54:05Speaker 1: going to rip a two inch long hole in the
- 54:07Speaker 1: fucking thing. I'm like, I'm about to go buy five
- 54:10Speaker 1: dollars worth of fucking hardware and fix this shit. I mean,
- 54:13Speaker 1: why not? Yeah. So I was like, all right, that's cool.
- 54:15Speaker 1: And I confirmed it with our buddy, Magnus Cockthunder, last night.
- 54:19Speaker 1: I'm like, I don't want to pay somebody like 200
- 54:22Speaker 1: bucks to do this shit. It's going to cost me
- 54:23Speaker 1: like 10 bucks. is it possible for me to get
- 54:26Speaker 1: my low-profile jack on just the side of my car,
- 54:30Speaker 1: jack it up, and put two three-ton jack stands underneath
- 54:34Speaker 1: it on the side, so the other side's, like, just
- 54:38Speaker 1: on the ground, so, I mean, I'll chalk it and shit,
- 54:41Speaker 1: so I can get to that, he's like, yeah, I'm like,
- 54:42Speaker 1: all right, like, I should be fine, right, nothing's gonna
- 54:44Speaker 1: fall on me, he's like, no, you're gonna have your
- 54:46Speaker 1: parking brake on, too, right, I'm like, yeah, he's like, no,
- 54:47Speaker 1: you'll be fine, I'm like, okay, just making sure, I've
- 54:49Speaker 1: never done just jack up one whole side of a
- 54:52Speaker 1: car before, because it's not really good for your suspension,
- 54:54Speaker 1: but I'm like, I shouldn't be under there long. I'm like, ooh,
- 54:57Speaker 1: now I'm starting to wonder, man, should I do this? Fuck,
- 54:59Speaker 1: maybe I shouldn't do this. But yeah, that's the car thing.
- 55:04Speaker 1: Maybe I should, maybe I shouldn't. Probably going to do
- 55:07Speaker 1: it tomorrow.
- 55:10Speaker 2: All right.
- 55:11Speaker 1: Other than that, I only have two other quick things
- 55:12Speaker 1: to talk about. I got to hang out with Jabbo again.
- 55:16Speaker 1: I haven't hung out with him a bit. I mean,
- 55:17Speaker 1: it's been chaotic there, here, school and everything and shit,
- 55:21Speaker 1: all the podcasts. So it was nice. Hung out with
- 55:24Speaker 1: him once for like an hour and a half and shit.
- 55:26Speaker 1: That was fucking just chill as fuck. And then we
- 55:28Speaker 1: did like another two hours of just us just hanging,
- 55:31Speaker 1: recording and shit. Dude, it was fucking just, we just went.
- 55:35Speaker 1: And it was nuts. It was so crazy. It went everywhere.
- 55:38Speaker 1: It was such a good show. So in theory, I
- 55:42Speaker 1: know we teased this like almost nine months ago or
- 55:45Speaker 1: some shit. The Mashed Potatoes fucking podcast. It will more
- 55:50Speaker 1: than likely release under the proper Rumpus banner and stuff.
- 55:55Speaker 1: It will not be an Oddpods Media show. It will
- 55:57Speaker 1: not be a BFYTW show. It's just going to be
- 55:59Speaker 1: a proper Rumpus show that we collaborate together. So it'll
- 56:03Speaker 1: be a collaboration BFY thingy or whatever. It's really just
- 56:06Speaker 1: us bringing out podcasters to talk about random shit. But
- 56:10Speaker 1: check out Proper Rumpus Media. Go there for craziness in podcasting, man.
- 56:16Speaker 1: They're fucking off the wall, but I love them. They're
- 56:18Speaker 1: very fucking creative. Jabble's the guy who does our merch. Like,
- 56:22Speaker 1: if you want BFYTW merch, if you want something special
- 56:26Speaker 1: and shit, I guarantee you he can get that shit made.
- 56:31Speaker 1: Probably shipped right to you. So, yeah, check out Proper
- 56:34Speaker 1: Rumpus Media. Check out all the shows they got out there.
- 56:36Speaker 1: I know Jibology we were talking about. There's some news
- 56:39Speaker 1: on the show we talked about. I don't think he's
- 56:41Speaker 1: released yet, but he's going to talk about that on
- 56:44Speaker 1: there and a couple other things. Check that shit out.
- 56:47Speaker 1: They're fucking phenomenal. And the last thing is nothing. I
- 56:52Speaker 1: can't remember what it was. Augie, do you have anything else?
- 56:55Speaker 2: Not really. Not a whole lot else going on. Lately,
- 56:59Speaker 2: we're transitioning over to work and winter.
- 57:03Speaker 1: Oh, fuck, work.
- 57:04Speaker 2: So that's about it.
- 57:05Speaker 1: Do you want to talk about work? Not really. No,
- 57:08Speaker 1: I'm fine with that. I'm fine with that, too.
- 57:11Speaker 2: I don't think anyone wants to talk about work.
- 57:12Speaker 1: Good point. I don't even want to talk about it.
- 57:14Speaker 1: I really don't.
- 57:15Speaker 3: Not yet.
- 57:16Speaker 1: I'm not ready.
- 57:17Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:18Speaker 1: All right. Well, I think that's going to conclude our
- 57:22Speaker 1: Chill Smoke Show.
- 57:23Speaker 2: Chill Smoke Show.
- 57:24Speaker 1: Yeah. Hopefully.
- 57:25Speaker 2: I mean, we might end up doing a semi-chill show
- 57:28Speaker 2: when Aaron gets back, but at least we'll have more
- 57:31Speaker 2: to talk about and maybe we can do like one
- 57:33Speaker 2: or two games.
- 57:34Speaker 1: Maybe we'll come up with some games.
- 57:35Speaker 2: Break up the banana.
- 57:36Speaker 1: I think that'd be fun. Yeah, we need to get
- 57:37Speaker 1: into some games.
- 57:38Speaker 2: Too many chills.
- 57:39Speaker 1: Yeah, we can't have too many chills, man. No, we're
- 57:41Speaker 1: going to get that show.
- 57:42Speaker 2: It's going to be chilly enough this winter.
- 57:43Speaker 1: We do not want that. So thank you so much

- 1:00:42Speaker 2: I would be so pleased if that fucking joke backfired
- 1:00:44Speaker 2: on you finally. Oh my god. Fuck.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I did too. That's fucked up. I gotta change that.
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:00:58Speaker 2: Editors, would you please zoom in on the asshole for
- 1:01:01Speaker 2: a second?
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: This guy.
