- 0:28Hey everybody, good morning. From the chicken poop you hear
- 0:31all the girls in here like getting cranky.
- 0:34An eagle just flew over and they all were running and the crows
- 0:38were warning everybody ahead of time.
- 0:39It looked like the the scene out here, it was something crazy and
- 0:44the girls are all safe. So all worked out well.
- 0:47OK. So this morning we are talking
- 0:50about the fact that if you are. Not exercising.
- 0:54If you are not moving your body, you are doing yourself a
- 0:58disservice. Because remember, we're talking
- 1:00about energy this week and we're talking about how to raise your
- 1:04level of energy and one of the first things that people go to.
- 1:08Typically is to, you know, put caffeine in their body to get
- 1:12the energy level up. But they forget that one of the
- 1:14most important things that you can do is to actually work out.
- 1:18Like working out is such a huge part of staying healthy, can't
- 1:22begin to express how what a big deal that is.
- 1:25So for me, I walk all day long while I do my coaching sessions
- 1:30with people. It works for me.
- 1:32I love it. I get about anywhere from 20,000
- 1:35to 28,000 steps a day. And I know that sounds like a
- 1:39lot, but it's for me. It's just, it's easy now because
- 1:43I've conditioned myself for it. And when I don't do that kind of
- 1:47number of steps, I feel like crap, quite honestly, because my
- 1:50body's conditioned to keep moving.
- 1:52My body wants to go, go, go, go, go.
- 1:54In addition to that, I have a stationary bike and I ride that
- 1:58pretty much every day. I would guess at least four days
- 2:01a week, sometimes 7, but not always seven I would say.
- 2:05I'm a good solid 5 for the most part and taking the weekends off
- 2:10just because. Most weekends I take it off just
- 2:14because I need a break from having the routines of things,
- 2:18because as well routines are great.
- 2:19Sometimes you just need a little bit of a break for your body to
- 2:22rest. So first and foremost you got to
- 2:25check in and know how much am I moving?
- 2:27Am I actually moving my butt? And this is a really hard
- 2:31distinction for people because once they figure it out and they
- 2:34see it, they're panicked because most of us, I think the last
- 2:38number I saw on this was that most people, while the average
- 2:42number that they tell you to step is 10,000 steps, which in
- 2:45itself is an arbitrary number, but at least it's a target
- 2:48number. Most people don't move 3000
- 2:52steps in an entire day. Think about that.
- 2:54That is like ridiculously low. They get out of bed, they make
- 2:58their breakfast, they do their things, they're on their phone,
- 3:00they get dressed, they get in their car, they drive to their
- 3:03office, they sit in their cube, they work on their computer, on
- 3:06their phone, they get up, they drive home.
- 3:08You know, it's a very mundane, run-of-the-mill common
- 3:13occurrence that does not fuel you for greatness.
- 3:16What it does is it drains your body.
- 3:19Because the more you get sedentary, the more your body
- 3:22becomes used to being sedentary then.
- 3:25So it's the more tired you get, the more tired you get.
- 3:28That's like just the reverse. Like, you know, the more energy
- 3:30you get, the more energy you get.
- 3:32And it's worth the effort. Now I'm a huge unsolicited
- 3:37Fitbit fan. I love my Fitbit because I know
- 3:41I can't destroy the damn thing. I like that it connects to my
- 3:44phone and I can check there too to check out more information
- 3:48than it just gives me on the watch itself.
- 3:52I prefer it over anything that I've ever used just because of
- 3:57the size of it. I don't want it to do all kinds
- 3:59of functions for me. I don't need that.
- 4:01I have a phone for that. I just wanted to do the steps
- 4:05and the heart rate. That's it.
- 4:06Like that's what I wanted to monitor and it's really good at
- 4:08that. So if you are not monitoring
- 4:10your steps, I highly recommend figuring out a way to monitor
- 4:14your steps so you can shock yourself like I did.
- 4:16Because the first time I did this years ago.
- 4:19And when I checked, like I said, I'm going to get a Fitbit to
- 4:21find out how much I'm moving. And when I realized how little I
- 4:24was moving, I was mortified because I was one of those under
- 4:273000 steps and I was sitting down while I was coaching and I
- 4:31had no energy for my clients and.
- 4:33And I hated it. Not that they knew it, but I had
- 4:36no energy for them and I hated it.
- 4:38And it made me feel like I did not like my job, which is in
- 4:42itself something that can be taking place.
- 4:44Because without movement and air going in, brain fog sets in
- 4:48again. So this is all tied together.
- 4:51Movement exercise. Going to the gym is great.
- 4:56But it can't be the only thing, because if you just go to the
- 4:58gym and you do a limited amount of exercise and then that's it,
- 5:02you you're not doing anything else.
- 5:04Let's say you got run in there and you do 30 minutes of
- 5:06something, you better make sure you're tracking the rest of the
- 5:09day because you can't just do 30 minutes of something and expect
- 5:13change. You really have to hunker down.
- 5:15This is in partnership with nutrition, it's an in
- 5:19partnership with Movement and you've got to be on it.
- 5:23So keep that in the back of your head while you're working
- 5:26through all of this and really start figuring out where am I
- 5:29focused with my exercise movement and what do I want to
- 5:34increase. And really schedule it because
- 5:37it won't happen unless you schedule it.
- 5:40OK my friends, I will see you tomorrow for another talk on
- 5:43energy stuff. Hope you have a blessed day.
- 5:46Bye.
