- Lee Whitwell: Have you ever looked at someone running their own business and thought, I wish I could do that? Then immediately talk yourself out of it because I'm not confident enough. I'm not businessy enough. I wouldn't know where to start. What if nobody books? What if I press the wrong button? I accidentally launch myself up into space or launch myself into the internet. Does this sound slightly familiar? Then welcome. I'm Lee and this is The Women Behind the ⁓ Now before we go any further I should probably confess a few ⁓ I'm 54 years of age. This feels all very ⁓ ⁓ I've never launched a podcast before, done anything like this ⁓ I've not got the lighting right. ⁓ I've not had my hair professionally done. There's no makeup. Good luck. And at some point, I'll properly press the wrong button on Riverside and record my left ear instead of my actual face. ⁓ But I do love talking and I love people and I love hearing women's stories. And I really believe these conversations need to happen because when people look at joining a franchise, they often see all the polished bits, the lovely photos, the logos, the websites, the happy families, the nice shiny version. but what they don't always get to hear and see are the real stories. So what were these women doing before? Why did they choose to do this? Were they nervous at the beginning or are they nervous? Did they know what they were doing at the start? What does their week actually look like? What do they love doing? What's been hard? And what would they say to somebody who was quietly thinking, could this be for me? because I think that's where it often starts. Not with a huge business plan, not with a dramatic life announcement, not with perfect lighting, hair, ring light, ⁓ that's what I need. Sometimes it starts just with a tiny thought and I want something, or I want something more flexible, or I want something that's for me, or I love working with children, or I want to build something. but I don't know how to do it or I don't want to be completely on my own. And I think a lot of women, we just sit there with that thought for ages before we say it out loud. So this podcast is just a conversation. ⁓ I'm gonna be chatting to women running WOW businesses across Baby sensory, Toddler Sensory Mini Professors and Reading Fairy We're going to be talking about the wobbles, the wins, the funny bits, the business bits, what on earth is going on moments and what makes it completely worthwhile moments. Now, I just need to convince these women now to chat to me, work out how to use this iPod thing properly and something amazing hopefully will happen. But genuinely, I'm really excited because behind every wow class is a person. someone setting up the room, welcoming families, learning to build a business, juggling life, building their confidence. So I think these stories deserve to be heard. So if you are curious about WOW or you've ever wondered whether running a children's activity business could be for you, I really hope these conversations can make it possible. You don't have to have it all figured out. You don't need be wildly confident or the loudest in the room. You just Need to be curious and take that first step So welcome to the women behind Wow Don't know why I felt like I needed to flutter my fingers like that I'm really interested to see where this going this goes Let's see what happens watch this space
