- 0:00Speaker 1: Seven tors Mark Simone show continues. Now, well, hey, welcome
- 0:11Speaker 1: to our number two. We got a lot to get
- 0:15Speaker 1: to this hour. So, hey, this is just breaking. You know,
- 0:20Speaker 1: this redistricting is taking place in state after state where
- 0:23Speaker 1: they redraw the congressional districts to get rid of Republican
- 0:27Speaker 1: districts or it's all terrible stuff. It's just totally unethical.
- 0:32Speaker 1: You know, the congressional districts. If an area is Republican,
- 0:36Speaker 1: it's republican, but they'll redraw the district in this weird
- 0:40Speaker 1: snake pattern just to eliminate there. But so they've done
- 0:44Speaker 1: it in the state after state. But in Louisiana they
- 0:46Speaker 1: tried to do it and the Supreme Court just shot
- 0:49Speaker 1: it down, ruling it unconstitutional unethical. So this is a
- 0:54Speaker 1: big victory for the GOP, but it could also set
- 0:57Speaker 1: a precedent for all this crazy re districting. So it
- 1:00Speaker 1: just happened. We'll keep an eye on that. The we're
- 1:05Speaker 1: talking about the devilwaars Prada, Part two, the sequel is
- 1:08Speaker 1: this Friday. Roger Friedman on Last Hour reporting it's not
- 1:12Speaker 1: that good. You're going to see a huge publicity blitz
- 1:16Speaker 1: all this week for the Devilwaar's product too, but apparently
- 1:20Speaker 1: they've really toned it down. So and he reports it's
- 1:25Speaker 1: not only not good, but there's no screenings. You know, normally,
- 1:28Speaker 1: all the critics, all the people in the media, we
- 1:31Speaker 1: all get invited to private screenings all day and night.
- 1:35Speaker 1: Anytime you want to see it, you go to a
- 1:36Speaker 1: private screening. There's the big premiere, there's all that stuff.
- 1:39Speaker 1: And apparently they've canceled all the screenings. Now that's usually
- 1:43Speaker 1: because a movie stinks and it's going to get bad reviews,
- 1:46Speaker 1: so they won't let anybody see it before it opens
- 1:48Speaker 1: because they know where it'll get out. It's thanks. So
- 1:50Speaker 1: apparently it's not great. As I mentioned before, I never
- 1:54Speaker 1: saw the Devilwaar's product. I just never saw it. So
- 1:57Speaker 1: I went back and I watched it over the week,
- 2:00Speaker 1: just to see in the MARYL. Streep character. Now, I
- 2:04Speaker 1: guess to most people, this is a horrible woman. They
- 2:07Speaker 1: can't believe the way she talks to people. They can't
- 2:09Speaker 1: believe whey she treats people. They can't believe the way
- 2:12Speaker 1: she'd bed for us in the media. Me Roger said
- 2:15Speaker 1: the same thing. We've worked for a million people like that.
- 2:18Speaker 1: We've worked for people ten times worse than that. So
- 2:23Speaker 1: that's the way a lot of people are in the
- 2:25Speaker 1: media world. That's the way a lot of agents are.
- 2:27Speaker 1: That's the way a lot of TV executives are, radio
- 2:31Speaker 1: executives are, some not so much. But in the television
- 2:34Speaker 1: broadcasting world of entertainment, yeah, there's plenty of people worse
- 2:38Speaker 1: than her, much worse. Now, look at the correspondence dinner.
- 2:43Speaker 1: We just heard the story on the news, the shooting,
- 2:47Speaker 1: the four shots are fired, all hell breaks loose, the
- 2:49Speaker 1: Secret Service in the room, those guys in combat gear
- 2:53Speaker 1: with big long rifles pointing in the crowd. People are fleeing,
- 2:55Speaker 1: hiding under tables, And there was this video of this
- 2:58Speaker 1: guy who didn't flinch. He kept eating his salad. He
- 3:02Speaker 1: didn't get under the table, he didn't even stop eating.
- 3:04Speaker 1: In fact, everybody left, he's eating their stuff. So they
- 3:08Speaker 1: finally figured out who the guy is, and sure enough,
- 3:11Speaker 1: just like I was just telling you, he's an agent.
- 3:14Speaker 1: He's a big Hollywood agent. And he said, eh, I'm
- 3:18Speaker 1: used to I'm used to sirens, I'm used to police
- 3:22Speaker 1: stuff didn't bother me. I was hungry, I wanted to
- 3:24Speaker 1: finish eating I'm not getting under a table. But that's
- 3:27Speaker 1: you see that in the media with a lot of
- 3:29Speaker 1: very tough, cold people. Then there's that other famous video.
- 3:32Speaker 1: I don't think they've identified her yet, the woman who
- 3:35Speaker 1: in the middle of all this is running around stealing
- 3:37Speaker 1: the champagne bottles off the table, sticking them in her purse.
- 3:42Speaker 1: What else. Oh, speaking of which, the shooter, Cole Allen,
- 3:47Speaker 1: apparently was taking smiling selfies of himself before the shooting.
- 3:51Speaker 1: He was up in his hotel room. He was on
- 3:54Speaker 1: the tenth floor taking selfies of himself smiling everybody, I
- 3:58Speaker 1: don't care what you do. He taking selfies for Instagram
- 4:03Speaker 1: or something. And apparently he walked down the stairs. He
- 4:06Speaker 1: didn't get in the elevator to come down to the
- 4:09Speaker 1: where the ballroom is or where the lobby is. He
- 4:12Speaker 1: walked down with the guns and everything came down ten
- 4:15Speaker 1: flights of stairs. Now I would imagine that he's figuring
- 4:18Speaker 1: the surveillance cameras in the elevators, they'd see the guns.
- 4:23Speaker 1: Although he was wearing a long coat over the guns
- 4:28Speaker 1: and came down the ten flights. It's just you're going
- 4:30Speaker 1: to be less detected in a back stairwell than in
- 4:32Speaker 1: an elevator and not likely to run into anybody in
- 4:35Speaker 1: the stairwell. So he came down wearing a long trench
- 4:38Speaker 1: coat with the guns underneath, the rifle underneath. And then
- 4:41Speaker 1: he found a little room just off the lobby, just
- 4:45Speaker 1: a little alcove, a little room where it was used
- 4:49Speaker 1: to store bar carts and things like that, and it
- 4:53Speaker 1: was not guarded by the Secret Service. As much as
- 4:56Speaker 1: they were all over the lobby, they didn't guard certain areas.
- 4:59Speaker 1: There were a couple of holding rooms they weren't guarding,
- 5:01Speaker 1: and there was this little room where they stored the
- 5:03Speaker 1: bar cards. So he went in there to take off
- 5:06Speaker 1: his trench coat and bring out the guns. Now, as
- 5:10Speaker 1: far as mistakes the Secret Service made, well, there's different
- 5:13Speaker 1: types of Secret Service. There's the uniform Secret Service. You know,
- 5:18Speaker 1: there's about seven thousand people in the Secret Service. But
- 5:21Speaker 1: there's the uniform guys that's like the lower tier. Those
- 5:26Speaker 1: are the ones you see in uniform all over the lobby.
- 5:28Speaker 1: Then there's the guys in the suits and ties with
- 5:30Speaker 1: the earphones. That's the PPD, the Presidential Protection Division. Those
- 5:38Speaker 1: are much higher level guys. Those are the ones all
- 5:41Speaker 1: around the president. And then there's the caat the counter
- 5:44Speaker 1: assault team. Those are the guys in the combat gear,
- 5:48Speaker 1: the helmets, the big long rifles. So the outside the perimeter,
- 5:53Speaker 1: that was the uniform guys. And when they look back
- 5:55Speaker 1: at mistakes, there were a bunch they were not Again,
- 5:59Speaker 1: they didn't check all the they weren't guarding all these
- 6:01Speaker 1: little rooms alcohols. The other thing is it looked like
- 6:06Speaker 1: about nine o'clock they were getting lazy. They were dismantling
- 6:09Speaker 1: the metal detectors. The fare is just beginning. Why would
- 6:13Speaker 1: you shut this stuff down? Start taking down the equipment,
- 6:16Speaker 1: And you could see they were all not paying attention.
- 6:19Speaker 1: They were all gossiping, talking on the side there. And
- 6:22Speaker 1: then the other thing they're looking at is as you
- 6:25Speaker 1: came down the long corridor to get to this checkpoint,
- 6:30Speaker 1: it was a straight line all the way. You're not
- 6:32Speaker 1: supposed to do that. You're supposed to make it a zigzag,
- 6:36Speaker 1: Like if you're coming to a military base, the road
- 6:39Speaker 1: that goes right to the front of the military base
- 6:41Speaker 1: is always zigzagged. That way. You can't get up any
- 6:44Speaker 1: speed because you have to keep turning. Same thing with
- 6:48Speaker 1: coming down this corridor to get to the checkpoint, to
- 6:52Speaker 1: get into the ballroom. It should have been set up
- 6:54Speaker 1: with fences, so you have to turn this way and
- 6:56Speaker 1: then this way and that way. When you have to zigzag,
- 6:58Speaker 1: you can't run and get up all that speed that
- 7:00Speaker 1: the guy got up. So that's the other mistake. They'll
- 7:03Speaker 1: keep looking at this and they'll make more corrections to
- 7:07Speaker 1: all of this stuff. Hey, Obama getting a lot of flack.
- 7:11Speaker 1: President Obama, who's been kind of under the radar for
- 7:16Speaker 1: a while, and when he first left he had his book,
- 7:19Speaker 1: his Netflix thing, and then all that kind of dried up.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Of course, it's been a it's been five years, you know,
- 7:25Speaker 1: more than that, it's been Trump, Biden's been nine years,
- 7:29Speaker 1: ten years. So it goes away after a while. He's
- 7:32Speaker 1: trying to come back, trying to get visible again, trying
- 7:35Speaker 1: to get relevant again, so you know, and he's starting
- 7:40Speaker 1: a production company. He's trying to get a lot of
- 7:41Speaker 1: attention for himself. So right after the shooting, the White
- 7:44Speaker 1: House correspondents to him. He puts out this ridiculous tweet saying,
- 7:49Speaker 1: we don't know the motive yet for the shooting. Well,
- 7:53Speaker 1: of course he knew the motive for the shooting. The
- 7:55Speaker 1: shooter wrote out his motive in great detail and published
- 7:59Speaker 1: a Man of Festo. He wrote it out in detail.
- 8:03Speaker 1: Here it is, here's my motive. So for Obama to
- 8:06Speaker 1: write that stupid tweet, well, we don't know the motive
- 8:09Speaker 1: of the shooter. And a lot of people are pointing
- 8:12Speaker 1: out that was a big mistake on his part because
- 8:15Speaker 1: it reminded people. It's reminding people of the stuff they
- 8:19Speaker 1: didn't like about him. You know, he looks great, he's
- 8:22Speaker 1: a good talker, he's in a beautiful suit, he looks,
- 8:25Speaker 1: you know, very impressive up there. But outside of that,
- 8:30Speaker 1: he's a hell of a liar. He never gets done
- 8:33Speaker 1: anything like he claims he's going to do. He does
- 8:35Speaker 1: just the opposite. You know, he was supposed to be
- 8:37Speaker 1: the unit or the healer. He did more to divide
- 8:39Speaker 1: the country racially, class warfare. I mean so, and you
- 8:46Speaker 1: think he looks like this noble sort of a guy,
- 8:47Speaker 1: but he's the biggest liar. And when he put out
- 8:50Speaker 1: that tweet, it just reminded people of how blatantly he
- 8:52Speaker 1: can lie at times. Hey, let's get that, Jimmy Kimmel.
- 8:56Speaker 1: So you might have seen that the FCC is looking
- 9:01Speaker 1: at ABC talking about looking at their licenses. Now, this
- 9:05Speaker 1: was apparently something that was going on for a while
- 9:07Speaker 1: about diversity hiring at ABC. I can't imagine ABC not
- 9:12Speaker 1: having a lot of diversity hiring, but apparently they we're
- 9:16Speaker 1: looking at that now. They may have ramped it up
- 9:17Speaker 1: because of the Kimmel thing, from what we hear inside
- 9:23Speaker 1: sources at ABC. This is not confirmed, but inside sources
- 9:27Speaker 1: say they plan to absolutely stand by Kimmel. He doesn't
- 9:31Speaker 1: have much left on his contract, so firing him may
- 9:35Speaker 1: cause more uproar than they want. But I say it's
- 9:39Speaker 1: back to usual. They're moving on. Well, we'll see. Kimmel
- 9:43Speaker 1: is doubling down on the whole thing. You know, they
- 9:45Speaker 1: made the joke about Milania looks like an expectant widow.
- 9:50Speaker 1: In other words, your husband's gonna die at any moment. Now,
- 9:52Speaker 1: he claimed when he did it, we claim the next day.
- 9:57Speaker 1: That's a roast joke. It's done it all the time.
- 10:02Speaker 1: It's just a standard roast joke. It has nothing to
- 10:03Speaker 1: do with being assassination. It just means you're old and
- 10:06Speaker 1: your your your wife is younger, she's going to be
- 10:09Speaker 1: a widow. Wow. Yeah, it was done in a lot
- 10:11Speaker 1: of roasts, but it was usually a much older looking guy.
- 10:14Speaker 1: It was always. They used to do it about Abe
- 10:16Speaker 1: Vigoda all the time. Remember Abe Bagoda. They were every
- 10:19Speaker 1: great friars. Russ would bring Abe Bagoda onto the day.
- 10:22Speaker 1: It's not because he was so exciting, they just needed
- 10:24Speaker 1: him because everybody wanted to do jokes. They'd say, ladies
- 10:27Speaker 1: and gentlemen, Abe Pagoda and his widow, and everybody would laugh.
- 10:31Speaker 1: It doesn't work with Trump though. It's not because he
- 10:33Speaker 1: doesn't look like he's about to go anywhere. And uh,
- 10:37Speaker 1: well here's Kimmel last night. Now. Now, apparently when Trump
- 10:41Speaker 1: President Trump was speaking at the ceremony with the King,
- 10:46Speaker 1: he talked about how long the queen was married, and
- 10:51Speaker 1: he made a joke about sixty three years. Well, I'll
- 10:54Speaker 1: never be able to be married that long to Milaney.
- 10:56Speaker 1: In other words, we're too old. But she's fifty seven,
- 10:59Speaker 1: so obviously she's really not going to live another sixty
- 11:02Speaker 1: three years. So it's not about his age, it's just
- 11:04Speaker 1: in general. But so Kimmel used that. He said, look,
- 11:08Speaker 1: this he's making a joke about his age. Why can't
- 11:10Speaker 1: I do it? They were married for sixty three years,
- 11:16Speaker 1: and excuse me if you don't mind. That's a record
- 11:19Speaker 1: we won't be able to match Darling, So just not
- 11:23Speaker 1: going to work out that way. Wait a minute, did
- 11:27Speaker 1: he just make a joke about his death? Not really,
- 11:34Speaker 1: He made a joke that he doesn't have sixty three
- 11:37Speaker 1: years to go. He didn't make a joke about he'll
- 11:38Speaker 1: be dying pretty soon. It's different, It's really different. Kimmel's
- 11:43Speaker 1: joke was you look like an expectant widow, and noother
- 11:46Speaker 1: was expecting him to die at any moment, which nobody was,
- 11:50Speaker 1: so Kimmel's standing by that joke. Only Donald Trump would
- 11:53Speaker 1: demand I be fired for making a joke about his
- 11:56Speaker 1: old age, and then a day later go out and
- 11:59Speaker 1: make a joke about his own. But you know, when
- 12:03Speaker 1: Kimmel made that joke about you look like an expectant widow,
- 12:06Speaker 1: it was a joke about a guy who had just
- 12:08Speaker 1: gotten through three assassination attempts, and the next day the
- 12:12Speaker 1: fourth assassination attempt came. You had, Butler, You had the
- 12:17Speaker 1: guy on the golf course trying it with the rifle,
- 12:19Speaker 1: trying to shoot him. And I'm also counting the guy,
- 12:21Speaker 1: remember the guy that charged the gate at mar A
- 12:23Speaker 1: Lago that had a bomb on him. So that's three
- 12:27Speaker 1: assassination attempts. The fourth one this weekend. So now, I mean,
- 12:34Speaker 1: the only good thing about this Kimmel situation, he's not
- 12:37Speaker 1: going to be around much longer. He's going off the air.
- 12:40Speaker 1: They wouldn't give him a new contract. Instead, they gave
- 12:43Speaker 1: him an extension, which means we don't really want to
- 12:45Speaker 1: sign it in a new contract. Hey, there was a
- 12:48Speaker 1: great moment yesterday involving nine to eleven at one Police Plaza.
- 12:53Speaker 1: They've created a beautiful memorial to the cops and men
- 12:57Speaker 1: and women that lost their lives on nine to eleven.
- 13:00Speaker 1: It's a beautiful memorial. It had to be funded privately,
- 13:05Speaker 1: and Mayor Mom Donnie came for the ceremony. Well, the
- 13:08Speaker 1: guy he's been the targeting, torturing, trying to demonize Ken Griffin,
- 13:13Speaker 1: the billionaire. Remember he did the video outside Ken Griffin's
- 13:18Speaker 1: house trying to ridicule him. Well, Ken Griffin in real
- 13:21Speaker 1: life pays a hell of a lot of taxes. He's
- 13:24Speaker 1: maybe the biggest taxpayer in New York. And on top
- 13:27Speaker 1: of that, he doesn't even live here. He lives in Florida.
- 13:30Speaker 1: He doesn't even live here, and here in New York.
- 13:32Speaker 1: He gave seven hundred million to charities. That's pretty generous
- 13:37Speaker 1: in a place that you don't even live. It's not
- 13:39Speaker 1: his home state. He lived in Chicago most and then
- 13:42Speaker 1: he moved to Florida, not a New Yorker. He still
- 13:45Speaker 1: gave seven hundred million to New York charities. And one
- 13:49Speaker 1: of the things he heavily donated to was that beautiful memorial.
- 13:54Speaker 1: So when the mayor was doing the ceremony, he had
- 13:56Speaker 1: to actually thank Ken Griffin. I also want to thank
- 13:59Speaker 1: Ken Griffin for funding a memorial wall, which will open
- 14:02Speaker 1: later this year. Yeah, so he had to acknowledge Ken Griffin,
- 14:07Speaker 1: one of the most generous guys in the world. That
- 14:09Speaker 1: memorial is actually done by the New York City Police Foundation,
- 14:14Speaker 1: which is one of the great charities in New York.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You want to give to a great charity, Police Athletic League,
- 14:21Speaker 1: one of the very best children's charities, and another great
- 14:24Speaker 1: one is the New York City Police Foundation. Susan Bernbaum
- 14:28Speaker 1: runs that. But they do so much great work and
- 14:30Speaker 1: they raise money to help the cops with whatever they
- 14:33Speaker 1: need and take care of them, and then they do
- 14:36Speaker 1: things like this memorial. So it's a great great charity. Hey,
- 14:41Speaker 1: this is pretty good news. You know, we got the
- 14:43Speaker 1: straits of Hormose closed and President Trump signing an extension
- 14:48Speaker 1: of the blockade. Because as lawn as it's closed, Iran
- 14:50Speaker 1: is broke. They have no economy. Their whole economy runs
- 14:54Speaker 1: through the straight of horm Moose. As long as it's
- 14:56Speaker 1: shut their economy is shut down. So that's good. Now.
- 15:02Speaker 1: It could cause us a little increase in oil, but
- 15:04Speaker 1: we'll get through that now. The other interesting development is
- 15:07Speaker 1: the United Arab Emirates has announced they're going to leave OPEK.
- 15:12Speaker 1: So besides getting rid of the awful terrorist government Iran,
- 15:15Speaker 1: we may be breaking up OPEC, which is good. OPEK
- 15:18Speaker 1: is a cartel that would deliberately drive up the price
- 15:22Speaker 1: of oil and play games with oil prices. So this
- 15:25Speaker 1: is the first break in OPEC. United Arab Emirates is leaving.
- 15:29Speaker 1: They don't want to be a part of this cartel.
- 15:32Speaker 1: They produce about five million barrels a day, that's big,
- 15:36Speaker 1: So they said they don't want to be collaborating, unrestricting
- 15:39Speaker 1: supply and deliberately driving prices up, and they were attacked
- 15:43Speaker 1: by Iran and all this. They just don't want to
- 15:44Speaker 1: be a part of anymore. So if we can break
- 15:46Speaker 1: up OPAK, that'd be another another great result from what
- 15:51Speaker 1: we're doing in Iran. Hey, we'll take some calls next.
- 15:54Speaker 1: Eight hundred three to two one zero seven ten is
- 15:57Speaker 1: the number. Well, by the way, the ballroom. You know,
- 16:00Speaker 1: after the shooting, everybody' say you got to have the
- 16:02Speaker 1: ballroom now. And as much as they're trying to block it,
- 16:05Speaker 1: you know, left wing lawsuits, with these left wing judges
- 16:08Speaker 1: blocking the ballroom, Congress now taken action. Look, they're going
- 16:12Speaker 1: to pass the legislation to make the ballroom happen, so
- 16:16Speaker 1: it'll be official government legislation. Ballroom now. They passed something
- 16:21Speaker 1: yesterday about the funding, and a lot of people misunderstood this.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Now they're screaming, I thought it was going to be
- 16:27Speaker 1: taxpayer funded. Why did Congress allocate four hundred million If
- 16:31Speaker 1: it's taxpayer funded, Why is the Congress did not allocate
- 16:35Speaker 1: four hundred million of government money. It's very confusing. But
- 16:39Speaker 1: what they passed was the problem is if the private
- 16:43Speaker 1: donations come in, there's technically legally no way to get
- 16:47Speaker 1: it to the government fund. So they just simply created
- 16:51Speaker 1: an avenue to have that money go into the government
- 16:53Speaker 1: fund and get to the ballroom. That's all that was.
- 16:56Speaker 1: But it looks like it'll happen anyway. We'll take some
- 16:58Speaker 1: calls next eight hundred hundred three two one zero seven
- 17:02Speaker 1: ten eight hundred three two one zero seven ten
