- 1:26Speaker 3: I broke.
- 1:27Speaker 1: My rib and my tooth.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Well I'm not.
- 1:33Speaker 1: Sure what happened exactly.
- 1:35Speaker 2: But he said that yeah, he wasn't sure how he.
- 1:39Speaker 3: I mean, he said he felt it when it happened,
- 1:43Speaker 3: like when you're when you're.
- 1:44Speaker 2: Hit the board, hit hit the board, and like.
- 1:48Speaker 3: Oh and he said, you know, and luck, they have
- 1:50Speaker 3: an instacare at the at the resort we were at,
- 1:54Speaker 3: and he went to the instacare and they said, well,
- 1:57Speaker 3: you need you need an X ray and we don't
- 2:00Speaker 3: have that.
- 2:00Speaker 1: You know they're there for Oh I had a jellyfish
- 2:03Speaker 1: staying or what.
- 2:06Speaker 3: But he, God bless him, powered through the rest of
- 2:09Speaker 3: the trip, including the next day when we went on
- 2:13Speaker 3: a twenty mile bike ride.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Oh my, let what Well, first of all, you're never
- 2:20Speaker 2: going to make a twenty.
- 2:21Speaker 1: Mile I totally made a twenty mile bike ride, did you?
- 2:25Speaker 2: It was an electric I had the electric electric.
- 2:27Speaker 1: Oh, it was pedal assist.
- 2:30Speaker 3: It was not the kind to have the throttle on
- 2:33Speaker 3: it that are basically a motorcycle.
- 2:35Speaker 4: It was just pedals. I had to pedal. It didn't
- 2:38Speaker 4: have a throttle. No, okay, no throttle. H God, God
- 2:42Speaker 4: bless my husband's He powered through that. But it was
- 2:45Speaker 4: interesting where we went on this bike ride. Uh, if
- 2:49Speaker 4: you had X and I six dot com slash live,
- 2:51Speaker 4: there's a tiny video. I made the mistake of trying
- 2:55Speaker 4: to video my family on the bike ride, and I
- 2:58Speaker 4: crashed my bike while I was doing it and fell off.
- 3:02Speaker 1: I didn't break anything.
- 3:04Speaker 3: Though, I did you break the bike? No, I didn't
- 3:07Speaker 3: break the bike. But where we were riding was this place.
- 3:10Speaker 1: Called Parker Ranch.
- 3:12Speaker 2: I've heard of that.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Parker Ranch is one of the largest cattle ranches, not
- 3:17Speaker 3: in Hawaii, in the country. It's one hundred and thirty
- 3:22Speaker 3: two thousand acres on Hawaii.
- 3:25Speaker 2: But we took from the Hawaiians.
- 3:27Speaker 3: Well, so King kamana Maya, that's where he lived, was
- 3:32Speaker 3: on the Big Island. And when Captain George came to
- 3:38Speaker 3: the island and said, I have a gift for you,
- 3:41Speaker 3: King Kamamea.
- 3:42Speaker 1: I have brought you seven head of cattle.
- 3:45Speaker 3: And King Kamehamea said, well, these are a gift, and
- 3:49Speaker 3: he told everyone on the island that these are not
- 3:52Speaker 3: to be hunted.
- 3:54Speaker 1: There were just going to let them go okay, so
- 3:57Speaker 1: you let.
- 3:57Speaker 3: You know, a couple of cows and a couple bulls
- 3:59Speaker 3: go and things happen. Yeah, uh, and they multiplied and
- 4:06Speaker 3: multiplied and multiplied.
- 4:07Speaker 2: Oh they have sex yees.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Now. In the interim years, a man named John Parker
- 4:18Speaker 3: married King kamand Maya's daughter.
- 4:21Speaker 2: Her name.
- 4:21Speaker 3: Her name is Kippi Kane, which I think is adorable name,
- 4:26Speaker 3: and it became the Parker Ranch, but it's you know,
- 4:29Speaker 3: has Hawaiian Hawaiian based ownership. And they the cattle had
- 4:36Speaker 3: gotten out of control, so he had got permission from
- 4:39Speaker 3: King command, can we start?
- 4:40Speaker 1: Can I show you how delicious these are? Can we
- 4:44Speaker 1: start eating these delicious cows?
- 4:47Speaker 3: And the king said yes, but we need cowboys to
- 4:51Speaker 3: help us with this.
- 4:53Speaker 1: So they imported.
- 4:56Speaker 5: A bunch of wranglers, yeah from uh, from Mexico, and
- 5:01Speaker 5: they killed the caros, the caros, but the Hawaiians couldn't
- 5:07Speaker 5: say the caros, so they started calling them, Oh what
- 5:10Speaker 5: did they call them?
- 5:11Speaker 1: It started with a P.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Anyway, they had their own name for him, uh, Peniolo.
- 5:19Speaker 3: Paniolo's okay, what Hawaiian cowboys are? And I guess over
- 5:26Speaker 3: time they got so good that they sent one of
- 5:30Speaker 3: their cowboys to the Cheyenne Frontier days, you know, rodeo competition,
- 5:36Speaker 3: and this Hawaiian cowboy won the competition against all of
- 5:40Speaker 3: the back.
- 5:41Speaker 1: In nineteen Ohe isn't that interesting.
- 5:45Speaker 6: I think this is the same place that when we
- 5:48Speaker 6: went down with my wife's brother and their family, they
- 5:53Speaker 6: all went horseback riding there.
- 5:54Speaker 2: Oh probably, yeah, and.
- 5:56Speaker 6: So and I found a hotel bar on the beach
- 5:59Speaker 6: and that's that's how we And so when when you
- 6:02Speaker 6: tell me you went on a twenty mile that just
- 6:04Speaker 6: sounds like work, you know.
- 6:06Speaker 3: But secure you have to do the thing of where well,
- 6:09Speaker 3: you know, I live in Utah at you know, five
- 6:12Speaker 3: thousand feet above sea level, and when.
- 6:15Speaker 1: You go down there, it's easy, a little easier.
- 6:17Speaker 2: Did they did?
- 6:17Speaker 6: They have an electric full on electric bike and no,
- 6:21Speaker 6: only pedal assists.
- 6:22Speaker 1: Only pedal assist.
- 6:23Speaker 2: No, it's too bad.
- 6:24Speaker 1: It's proud of me.
- 6:25Speaker 2: But it's it's flat too. I mean there's no yeah,
- 6:28Speaker 2: I mean it's very no, you ain't going up no
- 6:30Speaker 2: hills or anything.
- 6:31Speaker 1: I was very proud of me and my husband with
- 6:34Speaker 1: a broken.
- 6:35Speaker 2: Why so did he does he have a broken rib?
- 6:38Speaker 4: So?
- 6:39Speaker 3: Yesterday, so we did the overnight flight yesterday. Yeah, at
- 6:43Speaker 3: which she get in at five thirty in the morning, which, oof,
- 6:46Speaker 3: that's hard.
- 6:48Speaker 1: And I told the kids, I said, you guys got
- 6:50Speaker 1: to stay up.
- 6:51Speaker 2: Why don't go, because you got to.
- 6:53Speaker 3: Whenever you travel, you have to just be wherever you
- 6:56Speaker 3: are and the time that it is, because if you
- 6:58Speaker 3: sleep at six o'clock in the morning and you're not
- 7:00Speaker 3: gonna be able to sleep it.
- 7:01Speaker 1: This is what I'm telling them.
- 7:02Speaker 3: Of course, we get home, I went immediately to the
- 7:05Speaker 3: couch and fell asleep.
- 7:06Speaker 5: Yep.
- 7:07Speaker 1: I did not follow my own advice.
- 7:09Speaker 2: That's bad advice.
- 7:10Speaker 3: But when I woke up, Joe was like, I think
- 7:13Speaker 3: maybe I should go make sure there's nothing else going on,
- 7:15Speaker 3: because he was really uncomfortable the rest of the trip.
- 7:19Speaker 3: Like we started worrying. I hope like organs haven't.
- 7:23Speaker 2: Been when you can get a punctured lung.
- 7:25Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a twenty mile rides A bad idea,
- 7:28Speaker 1: I don't.
- 7:28Speaker 3: So we went to the emergency room last night and
- 7:32Speaker 3: he had a CT scan and uh, just the rib.
- 7:37Speaker 3: They said, all your organs look fine, and but the
- 7:39Speaker 3: thing with the rib is you can't do anything.
- 7:41Speaker 1: No, there's nothing you can do.
- 7:43Speaker 2: You can even tape it calp. So you just have
- 7:47Speaker 2: to tough it out.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Feel that way till you don't.
- 7:50Speaker 2: Don't lift anything heavy.
- 7:51Speaker 1: Yeah, don't lift anything heavy.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Don't don't fix dinner every night.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Well, well that's not heavy lifting, is it.
