- 0:22Speaker 2: Have quite a few things. We put in half the
- 0:27Speaker 2: funding to bring it here. We managed all the engagements
- 0:31Speaker 2: between the between sal GP and the city. So that's
- 0:36Speaker 2: everything that goes from physically the stadium through right through
- 0:40Speaker 2: to getting with the harbor Master and a whole range
- 0:44Speaker 2: of things that mean the city is able to put
- 0:47Speaker 2: on an event like this and make the most of it.
- 0:49Speaker 1: You say you put half the funding and you must
- 0:51Speaker 1: have some idea of how ticket sales are.
- 0:53Speaker 2: Going, well, not not directly. We don't. We don't. We
- 0:58Speaker 2: don't take that risk, do Okay?
- 1:01Speaker 1: All right? So what are you looking forward to this weekend?
- 1:03Speaker 2: Then?
- 1:04Speaker 1: Will it be about your what's your focus? How many
- 1:08Speaker 1: spectators you get down there?
- 1:11Speaker 2: A few things? Yeah, how many spectators go there? How
- 1:14Speaker 2: successful the event is. There's a whole bunch of targets
- 1:17Speaker 2: around that, how many people come to the city and
- 1:19Speaker 2: particularly when they stay in the hotels, what it does
- 1:21Speaker 2: to the city center, in particular in terms of the
- 1:24Speaker 2: spend and the vibrancy of the place, but also just
- 1:28Speaker 2: how it's promoted internationally. So an event like this on
- 1:32Speaker 2: the harbor, what it does for Auckland's reputation to attract
- 1:37Speaker 2: people here, to put Auckland on the world map.
- 1:41Speaker 1: It's a beautiful event. Twenty five thousand spectators last year.
- 1:44Speaker 1: What's your target this year?
- 1:46Speaker 2: No, it'll be similar, but they've increased to stand and
- 1:51Speaker 2: then you have a whole lot of people all around
- 1:53Speaker 2: the waterfront watching it. Yeah.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Well it's the ones that are walking around the waterfront
- 1:57Speaker 1: watching it that spend all the money in the restaurants
- 2:00Speaker 1: and stuff. I mean they all do, probably, but they
- 2:03Speaker 1: all do.
- 2:03Speaker 2: Yeah, they all do. Because it's actually quite a tight
- 2:07Speaker 2: window that they racing.
- 2:08Speaker 1: Yes, and a half of town.
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah, that's right. And it's a number of races and
- 2:12Speaker 2: it's spectacular. I mean last year they hit every single
- 2:16Speaker 2: target and we did two for the city. So do
- 2:19Speaker 2: you think it's a fantastic event.
- 2:20Speaker 1: And this year, so your target's about twenty five thousand.
- 2:23Speaker 1: Are you expecting that or more?
