Transcript
- 0:09Speaker 1: Welcome to the Favorites from the Action Network. I am
- 0:16Speaker 1: Chad Melman, black Jack Fletchers with me because it's Friday,
- 0:21Speaker 1: it's the Friday Podcast. You're already laughing at me. That
- 0:24Speaker 1: intro gets me every time. Why is that because you're
- 0:28Speaker 1: using like the stereotypical FM radio DJ voice. Is that
- 0:32Speaker 1: what it is? Yeah, it's awful, like what they would
- 0:37Speaker 1: use on w k RP and Cincinnati. Yeah, that's like
- 0:39Speaker 1: what you're doing. I don't know if you know you're
- 0:41Speaker 1: doing it, but I am doing something that to an
- 0:44Speaker 1: exaggerated effect. Yeah, maybe mix it up, try something different
- 0:48Speaker 1: next week. I've gone a little bit lower key a
- 0:50Speaker 1: couple of times. Yeah, you should try that. Try to
- 0:52Speaker 1: deepen your voice a little. I don't want to change away. Okay,
- 0:57Speaker 1: maybe you should try. My motivation is to be I'm
- 1:00Speaker 1: glad you finally found that this guy. This guy. We're
- 1:04Speaker 1: producing a series of videos trying to teach people who
- 1:08Speaker 1: don't have experience in gambling the terminology and how to
- 1:12Speaker 1: do it and things like that, and Chad decided that
- 1:15Speaker 1: he should be the feature of some of these videos
- 1:19Speaker 1: and sot down to record seven minutes worth of video content.
- 1:26Speaker 1: It took fifty five minutes to record that. How long
- 1:30Speaker 1: it took? Did it take nine? My mistake? And at
- 1:35Speaker 1: one point he sat in the room with our producers
- 1:38Speaker 1: and said, what's my motivation for this video? What's my
- 1:43Speaker 1: motivation for this video? I don't know. Be interesting, be successful,
- 1:49Speaker 1: make people not turn it off. And the videos, the
- 1:53Speaker 1: videos are awful. I mean, he is stiff as a board.
- 1:57Speaker 1: The only thing moving in the video is is mouth.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It's like when Ricky Bobby did his first and he
- 2:03Speaker 1: doesn't know what to do with his hands him right now?
- 2:08Speaker 1: Are you going to let these Oh, don't lie to him.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Don't lie to him as once you asked Darren, because
- 2:14Speaker 1: Darren saw some of them and wanted to reshoot yours.
- 2:17Speaker 1: Shut up? Did he really? Were you gonna call him
- 2:25Speaker 1: a dick? I'm feeling about him right now. Wait to go.
- 2:34Speaker 1: And for those of you out there who find Darren
- 2:36Speaker 1: Ravelle annoying on Twitter, think about what it must be
- 2:39Speaker 1: like to have him in an office all day, every day.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Just think about that. The excitement he showed on his
- 2:45Speaker 1: Instagram about finding almond butter snickers, that's not exaggerated, that's real.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm a little upset about the videos. I need to
- 2:53Speaker 1: see them now. Sorry, I just made a lot more
- 2:58Speaker 1: work for these guys. I gotta see him. I was
- 3:02Speaker 1: a little self conscious doing and it was hard to do.
- 3:04Speaker 1: How are you self conscious? You're on camera all the time?
- 3:07Speaker 1: How are you this self conscious? Some of us like
- 3:10Speaker 1: some listen, I'm trying to be more honest. And while
- 3:13Speaker 1: I project a lot of confidence and uh, she's like
- 3:19Speaker 1: I have it all together and like everything is easy
- 3:22Speaker 1: and like I got it all under control, there are
- 3:25Speaker 1: moments where I feel nervous. I've expressed nervousness about the
- 3:28Speaker 1: fact that we're doing our live podcast, and I'm nervous
- 3:32Speaker 1: that a lot of people aren't going to show up.
- 3:33Speaker 1: All right, Well, we we talked about this a little
- 3:35Speaker 1: bit yesterday. I am a little concerned about your nerves
- 3:39Speaker 1: for the live show because you sometimes buckle up a
- 3:41Speaker 1: little bit. Um, we're gonna need to do a shot beforehand.
- 3:45Speaker 1: By the way, we're doing a live show. It's January
- 3:48Speaker 1: six pm, folies. It's on thirty third between fifth and six,
- 3:51Speaker 1: right across the street from the Empire State Building on
- 3:54Speaker 1: thirty third Street. Matt Ford and Antonio and I went
- 3:57Speaker 1: there yesterday producers of the podcast, and um, we had
- 4:02Speaker 1: lunch there. We saw the space. Did you pay for lunch?
- 4:04Speaker 1: I paid for lunch and I gave a big tip
- 4:05Speaker 1: because being so gracious to us, and uh, they the
- 4:09Speaker 1: space is amazing, Like it's actually, I felt so much better.
- 4:12Speaker 1: I'm not nervous about it anymore. I was nervous about it.
- 4:15Speaker 1: I felt so much better after seeing the space because
- 4:18Speaker 1: we have more than a couple hundred people signed up
- 4:21Speaker 1: and we have people flying in. But even if like
- 4:24Speaker 1: half of those people showed up, we're which is normal,
- 4:27Speaker 1: like I think about people end up showing up to
- 4:29Speaker 1: these things. We're going to fill that space. Like it's
- 4:32Speaker 1: a perfect space for a live podcast. It's gonna be amazing.
- 4:36Speaker 1: It's a great bar, a great spot, easy to get to,
- 4:40Speaker 1: close to Penn Station. M M. It's gonna be a
- 4:43Speaker 1: lot of fun. Paul Luduca, Jeff Schwartz coming into town.
- 4:45Speaker 1: I'm really excited about it. Yeah. Yeah, I love being
- 4:48Speaker 1: around those two guys together because obviously both who were
- 4:52Speaker 1: very successful former athletes, but they could not be more
- 4:55Speaker 1: different human beings if they tried. You guys were not
- 4:59Speaker 1: really very nice to me on the podcast on Monday. Well, listen,
- 5:03Speaker 1: they were upset that you're never there. Okay, they miss you.
- 5:06Speaker 1: I mean this should be something that you feel good about.
- 5:09Speaker 1: I mean, your own family doesn't really want you around,
- 5:11Speaker 1: but Jeff and Paul do, so they were hurt. They
- 5:15Speaker 1: lashed out at a great facetown call with my younger
- 5:18Speaker 1: son this morning. See, this is why they get upset.
- 5:21Speaker 1: You just totally blew that off. I love them too.
- 5:25Speaker 1: Did your your son actually answered the FaceTime call? Wow?
- 5:30Speaker 1: He's like, did you think it was someone else? No,
- 5:32Speaker 1: He's like, how's your day going to be? What's gonna
- 5:33Speaker 1: happen to you? Does he want something? No? He was
- 5:36Speaker 1: just like waiting for carpool the school and was being
- 5:39Speaker 1: nice to me. That's weird. Something's going on. I did
- 5:43Speaker 1: tell him that we talked in the podcast about how
- 5:46Speaker 1: he left the conversation and he just looked at me
- 5:48Speaker 1: and he smarked. He goes, that was pretty good. Your
- 5:52Speaker 1: son's your sons. Your son's kind of my hero. Listen,
- 5:55Speaker 1: the super Bowl is coming up. I don't know if
- 5:57Speaker 1: you know that or not. The Los Angeles Rams are
- 5:59Speaker 1: playing in the New England page Riots. The game opened
- 6:01Speaker 1: with the Rams at minus one immediately moved to the
- 6:07Speaker 1: Patriots all the way to minus two and a half.
- 6:09Speaker 1: One sports book the South Point put up a Pats
- 6:12Speaker 1: minus three lasted for fifteen minutes. The wise guys jumped
- 6:15Speaker 1: on it, so it's back down to two and a half.
- 6:17Speaker 1: I think we found the number. We're gonna talk a
- 6:20Speaker 1: lot about this on Monday and the live podcast, but
- 6:23Speaker 1: I do think it's worthy before we get into the show,
- 6:25Speaker 1: um to talk a little bit about our early leans
- 6:28Speaker 1: on the sides for the game, because I have a
- 6:30Speaker 1: feeling you and I are on different sides. Of course
- 6:33Speaker 1: we are, because you are going to be the idiot
- 6:36Speaker 1: who takes the rams here. Listen. I I was on
- 6:43Speaker 1: New England for fifteen weeks this season, and then the
- 6:46Speaker 1: loss of Pittsburgh happened and I got shook. I I
- 6:51Speaker 1: abandoned ship. Okay, I turned my back on the greatest
- 6:55Speaker 1: dynasty that pro sports has ever seen, and I paid
- 6:59Speaker 1: for it. I paid dearly. Okay. I had the Chargers,
- 7:03Speaker 1: I had the Chiefs, and I took it right on
- 7:06Speaker 1: the chin both weeks. But you know what, Chad, in life,
- 7:09Speaker 1: you have to be flexible, and I am a big
- 7:14Speaker 1: enough man to stand up and say I was wrong.
- 7:17Speaker 1: Hand up, that was on me, New England. You're better
- 7:20Speaker 1: than me, Tom Brady. You you outsmarted me. You You're
- 7:25Speaker 1: the greatest living American. And now I will never do
- 7:30Speaker 1: it again. I will never do it again. We do
- 7:35Speaker 1: not live in a universe where Jared Goff beats Tom
- 7:41Speaker 1: Brady in a Super Bowl. We do not live in
- 7:44Speaker 1: a universe where the New England Patriots lose back to
- 7:48Speaker 1: back Super Bowls. It doesn't happen. I don't care that
- 7:52Speaker 1: Sean mcveigh's a genius. I don't care that he's got
- 7:55Speaker 1: ted wrath pulling him back by his belt loops from
- 7:59Speaker 1: the from the field. I don't care about any of it.
- 8:02Speaker 1: I care that number twelve is lining up on one
- 8:05Speaker 1: side of the field and not on the other. That's it,
- 8:09Speaker 1: New England. And I will say this, if you're going
- 8:15Speaker 1: to take the Patriots like I have, don't look around
- 8:18Speaker 1: with the point spread. Lay the little bit of juice.
- 8:20Speaker 1: What is minus one? Because the Patriots do tend to
- 8:24Speaker 1: play close super bowls, right, they tend to be involved
- 8:26Speaker 1: in close. Don't shut the funk out, don't lay the points,
- 8:30Speaker 1: just go on the money line. Be Confident in the
- 8:32Speaker 1: Wind New England by a million. In addition to running
- 8:37Speaker 1: all the content for the Action Network and then being
- 8:40Speaker 1: in high level strategy meetings and thinking of the idea
- 8:44Speaker 1: for how to bet education videos and performing in the
- 8:48Speaker 1: how to bet education videos and doing this and motivation
- 8:52Speaker 1: and like working with everyone in a live podcast and
- 8:55Speaker 1: then having a meet about the live podcast and then
- 8:58Speaker 1: do interviews with reporters and have strategy meetings. As I mentioned,
- 9:03Speaker 1: I also wrote a story. I wrote two stories this week. Okay,
- 9:06Speaker 1: good for you. I started it yesterday morning. You wrote
- 9:10Speaker 1: a column. That's how you described it to a column
- 9:13Speaker 1: or a column. Started yesterday morning. Didn't really know where
- 9:15Speaker 1: I was going with it, but I just sort of,
- 9:17Speaker 1: you know, found my way. It's what I do. I'm
- 9:19Speaker 1: a professional. And then I had a dinner last night,
- 9:22Speaker 1: got back from the dinner, I wrote it until later
- 9:25Speaker 1: in the evening, turned it in at six thirty this morning.
- 9:28Speaker 1: The column is basically about how everyone believes that they
- 9:33Speaker 1: should just bet the Patriots because they're the Patriots, because
- 9:35Speaker 1: they make things things happen. And then you look at
- 9:38Speaker 1: their performance in the Super Bowl other than the Rams
- 9:41Speaker 1: Super Bowl, which they were fourteen point dogs and came
- 9:43Speaker 1: back in one. They have been favored in every Super Bowl.
- 9:46Speaker 1: They have covered two of those games. One they got
- 9:50Speaker 1: lucky and covered in overtime. Another was the Malcolm Butler
- 9:54Speaker 1: game where they were up. The other games have been
- 9:58Speaker 1: incredibly close or they've lost. So three or five and
- 10:02Speaker 1: three straight up. So while I'm with you on the
- 10:05Speaker 1: fact that they could they most likely will win, I'm
- 10:11Speaker 1: not with you and taking the three points. So hold
- 10:13Speaker 1: on you. You see, this is why this is when
- 10:16Speaker 1: I get hot. This is when I get hot. Gambling
- 10:20Speaker 1: is about probabilities. It's about betting on probabilities. And you
- 10:25Speaker 1: just told me New England is most likely going to
- 10:28Speaker 1: win this game. But I'm on the Rams. I don't
- 10:31Speaker 1: think they're gonna cover. Lay the just lay the juice.
- 10:35Speaker 1: Lay the juice. That's why it's there. That's why it's there.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Forget the points, don't scoore around with them. Take the
- 10:43Speaker 1: team that you yourself just said is most likely going
- 10:46Speaker 1: to win. That's the best bet. You know what. I
- 10:50Speaker 1: take it back, I'm not sure they're most likely to win.
- 10:53Speaker 1: You can't take it back. You just said it. No,
- 10:55Speaker 1: I might actually go the Rams on the money like,
- 10:58Speaker 1: you don't do it? Do it? You want to do it?
- 10:59Speaker 1: Right now? Let's do it? How much you wanted that?
- 11:05Speaker 1: Straight up winner? Deal? Deal? That feels good. I want
- 11:14Speaker 1: the point. I'll tell you what. I'll split the difference.
- 11:18Speaker 1: I'll give you two. All right, that's how generous I am.
- 11:23Speaker 1: That's good, very good, very good. If this is a
- 11:27Speaker 1: one point game, I'm gonna kill something. Why don't we?
- 11:30Speaker 1: Why don't we introduced Georgina? Hello fellas, you're excited if
- 11:35Speaker 1: you're life super Bowl Show next week? Very excited. I
- 11:39Speaker 1: can't wait Live super Bowl Show, super Bowl. It is
- 11:44Speaker 1: going to be so much fun. And now we've got
- 11:45Speaker 1: something on the line, you and I we should do.
- 11:48Speaker 1: I think I have a sneaking suspicion that that either
- 11:52Speaker 1: won't be the only bet we have or that number
- 11:54Speaker 1: is going to go up two fifties Mackeries, because I'm
- 11:59Speaker 1: going to a cocky as the week goes on, and
- 12:01Speaker 1: I'm gonna be like, hey, you want three. I make
- 12:04Speaker 1: so much more money than you, and you are so
- 12:06Speaker 1: willing to bet more than I am. Okay, do you
- 12:10Speaker 1: really want to go down that road? That's because I
- 12:13Speaker 1: am an actual gambler gamble am B I L I
- 12:20Speaker 1: N G gambling. We should just replay luducas. We should
- 12:26Speaker 1: just replay Luduca. That was legitimately the highlight. Let's just
- 12:31Speaker 1: put Luduca's rant in there. I'm gonna pause. We can
- 12:33Speaker 1: cut it. You guys can splice that in there, do
- 12:35Speaker 1: some producing magic. That was great. If you haven't listened
- 12:39Speaker 1: to Monday's show, go back and listen to it because
- 12:42Speaker 1: Paul Laduca goes on an epic rant. Georgina, please read
- 12:49Speaker 1: us in iTunes review because our listeners continue to be
- 12:52Speaker 1: gloriously engaged with our podcast. iTunes review us A scoochi

- 13:18Speaker 1: to my kids all the time, Like, dude, you are
- 13:21Speaker 1: absolutely the best twelve year old named Owen Millman living
- 13:26Speaker 1: in Road that I have ever met in my entire life.
- 13:34Speaker 1: He gave your address to me. More importantly, well, it's
- 13:37Speaker 1: not like I'm not listed, Like I don't want people
- 13:41Speaker 1: visiting me though. Make sure we take that out. I
- 13:44Speaker 1: will be visiting you. I don't know what that review was.
- 13:47Speaker 1: I guess it's a compliment the best. Hey, we're number
- 13:50Speaker 1: one in New York, number one in New York, number
- 13:52Speaker 1: one in the hearts of New York City people. Hey, listen.

- 14:07Speaker 1: choose the winner on Sunday. We're going to announce the winner.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Scooch is going to choose this on Sunday afternoon. We're
- 14:12Speaker 1: gonna announce the winner Monday at the live podcast. It's
- 14:16Speaker 1: gonna be great. It's gonna be great. So here's our game.
- 14:18Speaker 1: We've been doing that for ten years, Scooch and I.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Here's our here's our game, really because because obviously there's
- 14:24Speaker 1: there's like not a ton to talk about yet, but
- 14:26Speaker 1: we gotta have a podcast anyways. So, uh, here's the game.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Real or fake props? Georgina, come on up, explain the
- 14:34Speaker 1: rules of the game. Let's play a game. Everyone. Is
- 14:38Speaker 1: this a real bat or a fake bat? That was
- 14:43Speaker 1: pretty much the explanation. Simple enough, simple enough, nine questions,
- 14:47Speaker 1: It says in the script, Georgina will explain the rules
- 14:49Speaker 1: of the game. Okay, so I'm adhering to the script.
- 14:52Speaker 1: I don't know this all right, what's the first one?
- 14:54Speaker 1: Let's see, if we like a real one, we're gonna
- 14:56Speaker 1: bet on it together. If it's a fake one, I
- 15:00Speaker 1: think people will figure that out. We got nine of them.
- 15:05Speaker 1: Will the announcers specifically mention any beat, the spread, the
- 15:10Speaker 1: money line, a prop bet or the over under? Yes
- 15:15Speaker 1: plus two seventy five, No, minus four hundred. That is
- 15:19Speaker 1: a fake prop? Okay, you think it's fake because CBS
- 15:26Speaker 1: has come out and said times they like. They said
- 15:28Speaker 1: it again yesterday in their you know, pretty Super Bowl
- 15:32Speaker 1: press conference. They've said it. They are added, which by
- 15:34Speaker 1: the way, is absurd, so stupid. I mean, I don't
- 15:38Speaker 1: understand their reluctance to talk about something that is drawing
- 15:41Speaker 1: a majority of viewers to the game. You think if
- 15:43Speaker 1: Tony Romo mentions a bet, they're gonna fire Tony Romo.
- 15:48Speaker 1: I know, But to be fair, I don't think Tony
- 15:51Speaker 1: Romo is aware of anything happening outside of what's directly
- 15:54Speaker 1: in front of him on the football field. Now, if
- 15:57Speaker 1: this was Al Michael's and Chris Collinsworth, there's no chance
- 16:00Speaker 1: al Michael's isn't mentioning something I would like to see.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Uh And I don't know what's on this list yet.
- 16:05Speaker 1: I would like to see if there are props on
- 16:08Speaker 1: how many predictions Tony Romo will get correct that. I
- 16:13Speaker 1: believe the over under seven and a half. Wow, I'll
- 16:16Speaker 1: take the under on that. I don't know. It's a
- 16:20Speaker 1: lot eight. I think he's got like five or six,
- 16:25Speaker 1: but five or six. You got like five or six
- 16:28Speaker 1: on the left drive along back and examine that he
- 16:31Speaker 1: called every play on that drive. I promise you it
- 16:33Speaker 1: was like five or six at the most five or six.
- 16:38Speaker 1: I'm not going to sit here and listen to it.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Tony was amazing. Next, well, we gotta get the answer.
- 16:44Speaker 1: Is it real? Fake? Sorry, guys, this one's not real
- 16:49Speaker 1: just yet. Don't be sorry, Georgina. We knew well Tony
- 16:55Speaker 1: Romo correctly predict a touchdown? Yes? Plus two? No, minus two.
- 17:01Speaker 1: That's a good one because I know there is the
- 17:04Speaker 1: prop we just talked about on the number of players.
- 17:07Speaker 1: But will he correctly predict a touchdown? I'm gonna say
- 17:11Speaker 1: that's fake. I don't know that he does that. I'm
- 17:14Speaker 1: going to say it's fake. And I'll tell you why.
- 17:16Speaker 1: Tell me why. No bookmaker would ever make the yes
- 17:20Speaker 1: on this plus two hundred mm. That's true. The yes
- 17:25Speaker 1: would be minus two hundred. The know would be plus
- 17:28Speaker 1: money because they would be overwhelmed with yes money. Yeah,
- 17:34Speaker 1: but I don't know that Romo predicts the outcome of plays. Generally,
- 17:38Speaker 1: he says things like, you know, look for the slant here,
- 17:40Speaker 1: or you know, watch Gronkowski on the outside, Like I
- 17:43Speaker 1: don't know that he says like this is going to
- 17:45Speaker 1: be a touchdown like he usually doesn't, you know what
- 17:47Speaker 1: I mean? Yeah, I think it's fake. Answer this one
- 17:52Speaker 1: is real because Tony Romo seems to be some kind
- 17:54Speaker 1: of sorcerer. He is all right, yes plus two hundred,
- 17:59Speaker 1: I do that. You don't want to bet that one? No,
- 18:03Speaker 1: I I don't think he does it. I don't think
- 18:05Speaker 1: he predicts touchdowns. He doesn't predict the outcome of the play.
- 18:08Speaker 1: He usually just looks at the formation and says what
- 18:11Speaker 1: the team is going to try to do? I mean,
- 18:14Speaker 1: does that make sense to you? But about to see
- 18:17Speaker 1: like if they're from the three yard line, He'll be like,
- 18:19Speaker 1: this is gonna be run right off tackle for a touchdown. Yeah,
- 18:23Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't think he says it. I
- 18:25Speaker 1: would bet I wouldn't do it. I'm already overextended. I'm
- 18:28Speaker 1: already nervous about how much I've bet in this game
- 18:29Speaker 1: with you. What's next? Will Tom Brady miss a high five? Yes?
- 18:38Speaker 1: Plus six hundred? No? Mine is a thousand? Those odds
- 18:44Speaker 1: feel right? That's fake. It's too hard to judge it
- 18:50Speaker 1: from the television screen, Like we're gonna be examining fingertips
- 18:52Speaker 1: again and players to see if he made contact. Also,
- 18:55Speaker 1: like just think about it. You need to have an
- 18:58Speaker 1: ISO in media business that's like called in on Tom
- 19:04Speaker 1: Brady the whole time in order to know what he's doing.
- 19:07Speaker 1: Like he could miss a high five on the sideline,
- 19:10Speaker 1: he could, you know, like with Josh McDaniels, or like,
- 19:12Speaker 1: that's too hard to grade fake. This one's fake, Yes
- 19:19Speaker 1: it is, but I like the y I do too.
- 19:26Speaker 1: How many women not married to a member or employed
- 19:30Speaker 1: by an action network will attend the live podcast at
- 19:33Speaker 1: Follies on Monday over under three point five? Okay, this
- 19:37Speaker 1: is a real bet within our own office. Um, and uh, yeah,
- 19:45Speaker 1: this is most definitely a real bet. Uh what do
- 19:49Speaker 1: you think? Oh, definitely the under Yeah, I'm with you.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I'm with you. As far as I know. We have
- 19:53Speaker 1: one female I am. I am trying to drum up
- 19:57Speaker 1: some more females here. Me, me and Matt four have
- 20:00Speaker 1: talked about this. We're trying, but it's it's a tough sell.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Why but why do we care? Like, I mean, just
- 20:10Speaker 1: to add some diversity to the room. I think our
- 20:13Speaker 1: fans are who are fans are? It's like, I'm not
- 20:17Speaker 1: we're not. We're not marketing this. We're not calling up
- 20:19Speaker 1: someone and saying, hey, advertise on this. Don't you have
- 20:23Speaker 1: a reporter coming to this? Yeah, so it might be
- 20:26Speaker 1: nice to have a couple of women around. I don't care,
- 20:30Speaker 1: all right, dad, moment of the Action Network quote. I
- 20:33Speaker 1: don't care if there are women around. I'd love to
- 20:35Speaker 1: have a diverse audience, But like, I want an audience
- 20:39Speaker 1: that is engaged, that is excited about our content. I
- 20:42Speaker 1: want our audience to find us. If we happen to
- 20:44Speaker 1: have more women to come, I think that'd be amazing.
- 20:46Speaker 1: But right now, knowing what we know, about our audience,
- 20:49Speaker 1: knowing what we know about where he engages, knowing what
- 20:52Speaker 1: we know about who replies, knowing that we've literally gotten
- 20:55Speaker 1: a response from one woman in But you have two
- 20:58Speaker 1: months of doing this podcast. You have to making that
- 21:00Speaker 1: we're gonna have under three and a half. You have
- 21:02Speaker 1: to admit that number feels right, doesn't it like three
- 21:04Speaker 1: and a half feels And I'm okay with that. We're
- 21:07Speaker 1: gonna get bigger, We're gonna grow. We just started as
- 21:10Speaker 1: the Action Network. We've only been around a year. This
- 21:12Speaker 1: podcast started in September, Like it takes a while to build. Man, Alright,
- 21:16Speaker 1: so we're all on the under there, okay, answer black
- 21:21Speaker 1: Jack has groupies now one. I think we're safely on
- 21:26Speaker 1: the under here. I'm trying, man, I'm trying, but it's
- 21:30Speaker 1: just not gonna happen. It's a tough sell. Six pm
- 21:32Speaker 1: on Monday. If the Rams win, well, the city of
- 21:35Speaker 1: Los Angeles have a parade with over ten thou attendees. Yes,
- 21:40Speaker 1: minus a thousand, no, plus four hundred? Again, how could
- 21:44Speaker 1: you grade that? And how would you What do you
- 21:47Speaker 1: mean they measure every I don't know, man. We live
- 21:50Speaker 1: in the era of fake news. I mean, Donald Trump
- 21:53Speaker 1: says this inauguration was the largest ever, and other people
- 21:55Speaker 1: say there was like thirty people there. I don't know.
- 21:58Speaker 1: How do you grade it? Here's how you grade it.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Ten thousands a pretty precise number. Here's how you grad it.
- 22:04Speaker 1: You take a you you take a digital photograph of
- 22:08Speaker 1: the parade route from overhead. You take out a portion
- 22:13Speaker 1: of that photograph square, you plot it, You count the
- 22:17Speaker 1: number of people. Then you make equal number of squares
- 22:21Speaker 1: for the entire photograph, and you multiply that by the
- 22:24Speaker 1: number of people in that one square. Okay, thank you
- 22:27Speaker 1: for walking us through how it's actually done. But what
- 22:30Speaker 1: sports book is going to set that prop and and
- 22:33Speaker 1: who's whose number are they accepting? They will accept the
- 22:37Speaker 1: official estimate from who whoever, whatever city holds the parade,
- 22:44Speaker 1: So Los Angeles definitely won't inflate that number at all. Dude,
- 22:48Speaker 1: how many times have you seen a parade where you
- 22:50Speaker 1: can see massive humanity? You know almost instantly if there's
- 22:53Speaker 1: more or less than ten thousand people. I don't think
- 22:55Speaker 1: you do. And knowing is it? Thinking? You know isn't
- 22:59Speaker 1: the same thing as as a sports book paying out
- 23:01Speaker 1: on it. People is just not that many people. I mean,
- 23:05Speaker 1: I agree with you, but nobody really gives a damn
- 23:06Speaker 1: by football in l A. Well, that's beside the point.
- 23:11Speaker 1: But that's a factor because how many of them will
- 23:13Speaker 1: turn out to the parade. I think it would be
- 23:16Speaker 1: more than ten people. I don't know. They could get
- 23:20Speaker 1: seventy tho people. It still wouldn't even look that big.
- 23:22Speaker 1: More people watch the Patriots Chiefs than they did the
- 23:25Speaker 1: Rams game in l A. That's pathetic. I don't know
- 23:30Speaker 1: how to respond to what you're saying. I'm just telling
- 23:32Speaker 1: you I don't think it's real. I don't think it's real.
- 23:35Speaker 1: It's probably fake. Answer this one's not real, dumb dumbs. Well,
- 23:40Speaker 1: we're not dumb. We knew it, but we know how
- 23:43Speaker 1: to grade it if it is real. We got that
- 23:45Speaker 1: hope thing figured out. Chad's going to be the guy
- 23:48Speaker 1: sitting there counting heads in the pictures. I think that'd
- 23:51Speaker 1: be fun. You would think that's fun. I like to
- 23:56Speaker 1: get to an answer. I'd like to mark progress. Okay,
- 24:00Speaker 1: next six, Well, Jim Nance or Tony Romo say hot Atlanta, Yes,
- 24:07Speaker 1: plus two hundred no minus to sixty one's real? That
- 24:11Speaker 1: one's real, and I'm taking the yes, yeah, Tony, Tony's
- 24:14Speaker 1: gonna get worked up at some point and he's gonna
- 24:16Speaker 1: say it, Tony is gonna get excited. No, no, no,
- 24:18Speaker 1: what's gonna happen is Tony is gonna get excited and
- 24:21Speaker 1: Jim Nance is gonna say getting we're getting hit in
- 24:25Speaker 1: here and hot Atlanta? What's that your Jim Nance? Wise?
- 24:34Speaker 1: Are you gonna give me your tie at the end
- 24:36Speaker 1: of the show, Marco Mira putting? Do you think Jim
- 24:40Speaker 1: Nance just holds up in Georgia for like the rest
- 24:43Speaker 1: of the month. I mean, he probably should goes from
- 24:48Speaker 1: the super Bowl to the Master's got two months. He's
- 24:51Speaker 1: got Mark Maddiness. If only that was in Atlanta. Uh, yeah,
- 24:57Speaker 1: this one's real. It's real. We agree. I would bet
- 25:00Speaker 1: the Yes, this one is real, but I hope it's
- 25:03Speaker 1: to know. I would take the plus money. I put
- 25:08Speaker 1: ten dollars on this. Get you big spender? Can we
- 25:12Speaker 1: get Luduke on the phone and tell him you just
- 25:14Speaker 1: put ten dollars on a problem of that dam baing?
- 25:18Speaker 1: You know he was sounding it out in his head too.
- 25:20Speaker 1: That's part is you could just see the wheels turn.
- 25:28Speaker 1: Oh my god, he bet seven hundred times in a month.
- 25:36Speaker 1: It's amazing. Hey man, he's given that app a workout.
- 25:41Speaker 1: He's he That was my question to him, just how
- 25:46Speaker 1: do you physically input seven hundred bets in a month?
- 25:49Speaker 1: You can, as you know, we we have a free
- 25:52Speaker 1: app for the Action Network down with the app and
- 25:54Speaker 1: you can actually follow people in the app who you
- 25:57Speaker 1: want to see how they're betting and stuff. Believe it
- 25:59Speaker 1: or not. Believe black Jack Fletcher has more followers in
- 26:02Speaker 1: the app than anybody else. There's a shock you're north
- 26:06Speaker 1: of like followers or whatever, which is great, um, isn't it?
- 26:11Speaker 1: And Uh, I loved I gotta figure out where l
- 26:13Speaker 1: Duke is. I know we have that data somewhere and
- 26:15Speaker 1: I can't remember it hasn't been up there. And you
- 26:17Speaker 1: can receive an alert every time Paul places a better
- 26:20Speaker 1: feel like. I gotta tell you I did cut off
- 26:22Speaker 1: the alerts for Luduca too. I did too. He's the
- 26:25Speaker 1: only one I turned off of the people I follow.
- 26:27Speaker 1: It couldn't do it that work for us because he
- 26:29Speaker 1: was literally waking me up in the middle of the night. Yeah,
- 26:30Speaker 1: it was exhausting. Like I'd be on calls or I'd
- 26:33Speaker 1: be in meetings and like it won't stop, It won't stop.
- 26:35Speaker 1: It's just it's fucking crazy. All right, I'm actually actually someone, um,
- 26:40Speaker 1: how many followers in DUKEA has? Okay, well, while you're
- 26:43Speaker 1: doing that, why don't we move on to the next proble.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Let's do it seven? How many time outs will the
- 26:49Speaker 1: winning team have at halftime? Over under one p five?
- 26:54Speaker 1: I think that's real. How many time outs will the
- 26:57Speaker 1: winning team have? Although if it's a tie at halftime,
- 27:03Speaker 1: why does it matter if they're winning? I guess, Oh,
- 27:06Speaker 1: the winning team at halftime? All right, let me think
- 27:09Speaker 1: about this. The winning thing gives me pause. The winning
- 27:13Speaker 1: team at halftime where they have more or less than
- 27:16Speaker 1: one and a half times out? Because if the game
- 27:18Speaker 1: is tied, which I mean it could be, then there's
- 27:21Speaker 1: no action on that. Huh you know what I mean? Right,
- 27:29Speaker 1: So there's no action. If it's a tie, then I know,
- 27:33Speaker 1: But why would a book make that bet win that?
- 27:35Speaker 1: I mean the tie at halftime? Is it's not like
- 27:38Speaker 1: out of the realm? Or is it asking for the
- 27:43Speaker 1: team at the who wins the game? Ultimately we're doing
- 27:46Speaker 1: a look back here now, this is too complicated fake. Also,
- 27:50Speaker 1: by the way, it's fake and if it's real, it's stupid. Yeah, agreed,
- 27:55Speaker 1: totally agree. This is a fake. Prop submits by listener
- 28:00Speaker 1: Alto Gross for the prop contest. Wow, that was clever listen.
- 28:06Speaker 1: Good try, um, but bad we said it was stupid.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I don't want to insult our listeners. It was a
- 28:12Speaker 1: good try, but no one's beating my propit. It's also
- 28:14Speaker 1: sad that Alto Gross now knows he. I'm assuming it's
- 28:18Speaker 1: a he because we don't have any female listeners. He
- 28:21Speaker 1: is not going to win the prop contest. No, I'm
- 28:25Speaker 1: winning the prop contest. What was yours? Again? My prop
- 28:28Speaker 1: was because the rules said it had to be something
- 28:30Speaker 1: measurable that you could measure. So my prop was, what
- 28:35Speaker 1: is the length of Tony Romo's largest visible erection during
- 28:39Speaker 1: the broadcast? Because Tony is going to be so excited
- 28:44Speaker 1: to call this game that there's no doubt he will
- 28:47Speaker 1: be fully aroused. He will be fully aroused for most
- 28:52Speaker 1: of it, um, and so it's there will be someone
- 28:55Speaker 1: out there measuring his erection. And I'd like to know
- 29:00Speaker 1: that Ford set the line at nine, so he he's
- 29:03Speaker 1: given Tony a lot of credit here. If Jim nance
- 29:05Speaker 1: in the middle in the middle of the broadcast. If
- 29:07Speaker 1: Jim Nance just yells out Hotlanta for no reason whatsoever,
- 29:12Speaker 1: Kidney because like, Tony's excited. I mean, listen, I love
- 29:15Speaker 1: Tony's excitement. It's his excitement for football, not his sexual excitement. Um,
- 29:22Speaker 1: it's gonna be interesting. He's gonna be really excited. What's next.
- 29:29Speaker 1: Eight If SpongeBob is a performer in the halftime show,
- 29:33Speaker 1: will he kneel in protest? Yes plus three thousand, no
- 29:38Speaker 1: minus twenty THO. I don't think this is real. Well,
- 29:42Speaker 1: what is SpongeBob supposed to be? Okay, there are elements
- 29:45Speaker 1: of this that are real, because okay, SpongeBob, I'm probably
- 29:49Speaker 1: going to say something. I'm probably going to say something
- 29:52Speaker 1: that people think is like obvious, but I have no
- 29:54Speaker 1: idea what it is. There was a prop bet that said, like,
- 29:57Speaker 1: is Maroon five gonna play some song something victory that
- 30:01Speaker 1: I've never heard of, uh, in tribute or in honor
- 30:05Speaker 1: of SpongeBob square Pants. And I don't know what any
- 30:09Speaker 1: of that means. So I don't know Maroon fives. So
- 30:15Speaker 1: the whole SpongeBob connection, I don't know. I mean, maybe
- 30:18Speaker 1: SpongeBob rolls out with Big Boy and Maroon five. Well,
- 30:22Speaker 1: here's why they could do it. I don't know, but
- 30:24Speaker 1: it feels like it would be a weird look that
- 30:26Speaker 1: I don't know. I don't know if like they have
- 30:29Speaker 1: a relationship with SpongeBob or whatever, or if they just
- 30:32Speaker 1: loved him growing up. Uh, Spongebobs, they're not that young.
- 30:36Speaker 1: SpongeBob creator died this year or recently, is what happened?
- 30:42Speaker 1: All right, But what the hell does that have to
- 30:44Speaker 1: do with the super Bowl and Maroon five. I don't
- 30:47Speaker 1: know either. I'm gonna say it's fake unless a listener
- 30:51Speaker 1: submitted this prop. I'm gonna say it's utterly ridiculous. So
- 30:55Speaker 1: it's like an if then and usually you don't see
- 30:58Speaker 1: that with props, so it's fake. Answer somehow, this one
- 31:05Speaker 1: is actually real. What I'm shocked. What sports book put
- 31:08Speaker 1: this crap up? That's astonishing. That's a trash prop. Down bookmaker, bookmaker,
- 31:16Speaker 1: be better. That's garbage. What's next? Nine? Well, chad up?
- 31:23Speaker 1: Blackjack cried during Maroon fives performance of She Will Be
- 31:28Speaker 1: Loved Yes minus two hundred, no, plus a thousand. I'm
- 31:32Speaker 1: not crying from a room back. We got to hear
- 31:34Speaker 1: Georgina saying one more time nine Well Chad up. Blackjack
- 31:38Speaker 1: cried during Maroon fives performance of She Will Be Loved
- 31:42Speaker 1: Yes minus two hungred she will be Loved. So so
- 31:52Speaker 1: far this week, I've gotten Paula Duca singing pay Phone,
- 31:55Speaker 1: Chad Millman singing she will be Loved. Can't wait for
- 31:59Speaker 1: the rest of the week. Um Duke and I might
- 32:02Speaker 1: just do a duet at the White Pocket. I'm not
- 32:04Speaker 1: There's no way I'm crying in Room five. No chance,
- 32:07Speaker 1: no chance. I don't. I hate Maroon five. I'll be honest.
- 32:10Speaker 1: I really think they're awful. Like they're so uninteresting to me.
- 32:15Speaker 1: I'm not a fan of their songs. I do think
- 32:17Speaker 1: Adam Levine has a nice voice, but like they're so overproduced.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Can I can? I can? I dive into that for
- 32:22Speaker 1: a second, because one of my favorite bets is the
- 32:25Speaker 1: first song that will be played at the halftime show.
- 32:28Speaker 1: I've I've studied this now. I've spent a lot of
- 32:30Speaker 1: time on their catalog and watching their their concerts recently.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Uh do you think they're gonna lip sync? Because I've
- 32:38Speaker 1: watched a bunch of their lives stuff lately. He doesn't
- 32:41Speaker 1: sound that great live. Mhm, he doesn't. It's not it's
- 32:46Speaker 1: not the same. He can't necessarily get as high as
- 32:48Speaker 1: you think you can. He's not trying the right stuff. Yeah,
- 32:52Speaker 1: well maybe, but I mean, do you think the lip
- 32:55Speaker 1: sync it that's a dangerous road. But going live is
- 32:59Speaker 1: dangerous too. I think they'll go live. Yeah, I don't know.
- 33:03Speaker 1: I don't be interfraid. He's in like the TV show
- 33:06Speaker 1: The Voice, he probably goes live there. He sounds like
- 33:09Speaker 1: I've I'm not a watch that show, but I have
- 33:11Speaker 1: seen it a couple of times and he's been amazing.
- 33:14Speaker 1: I've also seen a video with him and uh, who's
- 33:16Speaker 1: the other guy, Blake, the tall guy, Blake Shelton, Blake Shelton. Uh,
- 33:20Speaker 1: they do a duet together. They're amazing. They seem to
- 33:23Speaker 1: be like good friends. I'm excited for them. You're excited
- 33:26Speaker 1: for their friendship. I like when like people start something
- 33:28Speaker 1: and like they don't know if they're gonna be friends,
- 33:30Speaker 1: and like us, like, yeah, we became friends. Look at us,
- 33:34Speaker 1: didn't we blossomed? They can go at each other like
- 33:39Speaker 1: we do. Yep, you and me are a regular. Adam
- 33:42Speaker 1: Levine and Blake Shell then they go out and make
- 33:44Speaker 1: you know, hit records. We've got you know, maybe two
- 33:47Speaker 1: d men coming to see us performing a podcast. If
- 33:52Speaker 1: we're if we're lucky, If we're lucky, we have two
- 33:56Speaker 1: hundred men coming to see us on the podcast. Do
- 34:00Speaker 1: a lot podcast with with four other guys. Georgie, you
- 34:05Speaker 1: got anything else? An? This is onecent reel and I
- 34:09Speaker 1: will taking us listen. I think Georgie has a real
- 34:13Speaker 1: career singing one word. Yep, she's really cornered the market
- 34:17Speaker 1: on the word. Will Hey, Speaking of which, Will Fetters, congratulations, Buddy.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Will Fetters Academy Award nominee for A Star Is Born.
- 34:29Speaker 1: He wrote the movie with Bradley Cooper. He's an Academy
- 34:31Speaker 1: Award nominee. He was on the podcast. He's a good
- 34:33Speaker 1: friend of the podcast. He's gonna come back on the
- 34:35Speaker 1: podcast before the Oscars. This has been the favorites from
- 34:42Speaker 1: the Action Network. I am Chad Millman, He's black Jack Fletcher.
