- 0:00Speaker 1: This is the Ben and Ashley I almost Famous podcast
- 0:03Speaker 1: with iHeartRadio.
- 0:05Speaker 2: It's almost famous podcast. We're here today and we wanted
- 0:08Speaker 2: to pop in and say we hope you're having a
- 0:11Speaker 2: wonderful holiday weekend. His Monday is Martin Luther King Day. So, Ashley,
- 0:16Speaker 2: you got a long weekend ahead of you, a big
- 0:19Speaker 2: weekend ahead of you. What are you doing for it?
- 0:22Speaker 3: Well, I'm not doing anything in influencerer life. I wouldn't
- 0:27Speaker 3: say that long weekends really feel like a weekend. You know,
- 0:30Speaker 3: if you don't have like a corporate government calendar job,
- 0:35Speaker 3: you probably don't feel, unfortunately, like Monday's a holiday. I
- 0:40Speaker 3: did really feel like Christmas to New Year's was a
- 0:43Speaker 3: holiday this year. That was awesome, especially since there was
- 0:47Speaker 3: like two weeks. But along, what am I doing on Monday?
- 0:52Speaker 3: Let me look at my calendar? Ben well Dawson has
- 0:55Speaker 3: his first swimming lesson on Monday night. That's exciting. Of course,
- 1:00Speaker 3: we have the Patriots game on Sunday. That's exciting. Might
- 1:04Speaker 3: have a girls brunch that's fun, and a new restaurant
- 1:06Speaker 3: also fun. But the Patriots game is going to be
- 1:09Speaker 3: like the big thing in our weekend.
- 1:12Speaker 2: You're not a big drinker when you go to brunch
- 1:14Speaker 2: to you booze.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Uh yeah, I like I love a mimosa. Actually, that's
- 1:18Speaker 3: my favorite drink. If I had to pick, like which
- 1:20Speaker 3: drink I could just that would be the only one
- 1:22Speaker 3: that I never have. That would be almosta please.
- 1:25Speaker 2: Yeah, mimosas are good.
- 1:27Speaker 3: I do love a good momosa, So Bloody Mary. I
- 1:29Speaker 3: kind of like the breakfast drinks more than anything.
- 1:31Speaker 2: Yeah, it's fun. I'm on the back end of another cleanse. Yeah,
- 1:36Speaker 2: these like sporadic cleanses and so yeah, I haven't had
- 1:39Speaker 2: anything for a while, but I'm excited to you.
- 1:41Speaker 3: So you don't not dry January.
- 1:43Speaker 2: I'm not doing the whole dry January, but I am
- 1:45Speaker 2: doing like I'm trying to get in like three three
- 1:49Speaker 2: day fast this month.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Oh, three three day fast, Ben, That is a lot
- 1:55Speaker 3: of fasting. It is.
- 1:58Speaker 2: But it's like juice. I mean, I can drink juice
- 2:00Speaker 2: and stuff like healthy juices and water. It actually makes
- 2:02Speaker 2: me feel really good. And I'm getting over the flu
- 2:05Speaker 2: right now, and so it actually kind of I think
- 2:07Speaker 2: expedites my immune system to fight stuff harder. This is
- 2:10Speaker 2: all stuff I tell myself so that I continue to
- 2:12Speaker 2: do what I want.
- 2:12Speaker 3: To do definitely, what are you doing?
- 2:16Speaker 2: I have such I have so many plans, Ashley. I'm
- 2:18Speaker 2: so excited because I get to announce today on this
- 2:20Speaker 2: podcast that I am heading back to Orlando, Florida for
- 2:24Speaker 2: the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of champions. Joey's going to
- 2:27Speaker 2: be No, it's in uh. It's actually two weeks now. Listen,
- 2:31Speaker 2: it's two weeks uh from today. But I mean, I'm
- 2:34Speaker 2: going to start prepping. I gotta stop start prepping because
- 2:37Speaker 2: I'm playing against Joey and Wells and a bunch of
- 2:39Speaker 2: other really cool people. It's one of my favorite events
- 2:42Speaker 2: of the year, as I've mentioned before, and it's always
- 2:45Speaker 2: such great competition between those two. It's always so much
- 2:50Speaker 2: fun to walk to Fairways alongside them for four days,
- 2:53Speaker 2: also alongside the LPGA. So this is I'll get I'm
- 2:57Speaker 2: going to start prepping for that just because's going to
- 2:58Speaker 2: help me pick on my Outfit's cool. It's a big deal. Saturday,
- 3:03Speaker 2: NFL Sunday, NFL Monday, my Indiana Hoosiers are playing in
- 3:08Speaker 2: the National Championship Game against the Miami Hurricanes.
- 3:13Speaker 3: Congratulations in Miami.
- 3:15Speaker 2: I went to Atlanta last weekend for the Peach Bowl.
- 3:18Speaker 2: That was a wild time. I wish I could go
- 3:21Speaker 2: to the National Championship. Tickets are outrageously expensive. Jessica and
- 3:25Speaker 2: I had planned on going. We're not gonna make it now,
- 3:28Speaker 2: which is too bad. But I'm so excited. So a
- 3:31Speaker 2: lot of my weekends is going to be really kind
- 3:34Speaker 2: of getting nervous for that game. I'm very nervous. I'm
- 3:36Speaker 2: very excited. That's on Monday. It's on Monday. Yeah, on Monday.
- 3:40Speaker 2: It's a big game. Obviously it's a National championship. IU
- 3:44Speaker 2: is favored. I would take IU money line if I
- 3:48Speaker 2: was anybody. I don't even know if I can give
- 3:49Speaker 2: betting advice on the show, but I feel really good
- 3:52Speaker 2: about my Hoosiers. It's been a blast this whole season,
- 3:56Speaker 2: so I'll be doing that. We're also doing you knew this,
- 4:01Speaker 2: I think, but you know, growing up my parents, my
- 4:04Speaker 2: grandpa really started a fish fry business. So my whole
- 4:07Speaker 2: childhood was spent on the weekends going to fish fries.
- 4:10Speaker 2: We would fry fish for fundraisers at churches, schools, fire departments,
- 4:15Speaker 2: lions clubs, et cetera. And the business no longer is
- 4:20Speaker 2: in uh is with my family we sold it, but
- 4:23Speaker 2: the people that we sold it to are good friends
- 4:25Speaker 2: and so everyone in a while, they'll send me some fish,
- 4:28Speaker 2: and the neighborhood loves it when I do a fish fry.
- 4:31Speaker 2: So I'll bring out my my fryer, I'll fry some fish.
- 4:34Speaker 2: We'll eat some fish sandwiches here in Colorado. It's yeah,
- 4:38Speaker 2: I'm excited for the long weekend. I'm with you where
- 4:42Speaker 2: there's always going to be things that pop up during
- 4:44Speaker 2: an extended weekend that distract. But the positive to that
- 4:49Speaker 2: is if I wanted to take a Monday off at
- 4:52Speaker 2: any point, I could exactly.
- 4:55Speaker 3: That is the best point. Thank you.
- 4:57Speaker 2: Yes, So, Ashley to twenty six is upon us. We're
- 5:03Speaker 2: half of a month in. We talked about kind of
- 5:06Speaker 2: our ins and outs for the year. Is twenty twenty
- 5:10Speaker 2: six continuing to be a good year for you? Like,
- 5:12Speaker 2: do you feel like you're sticking to the things that
- 5:14Speaker 2: you wanted to stick to? Was there anything that you
- 5:16Speaker 2: actually put intention on?
- 5:19Speaker 3: Okay, so I've been bad about the whole scrolling in bed.
- 5:22Speaker 3: I'm still scrolling too late in bed and not watching
- 5:24Speaker 3: enough TV. Yes, Ben, you weren't on the podcast so much.
- 5:28Speaker 3: It was more of jess My intention was to watch
- 5:31Speaker 3: more TV in bed. It's fair to watch, yeah, like
- 5:37Speaker 3: it makes me relax. I don't think that scrolling makes
- 5:40Speaker 3: me relaxed. Yeah, And I've been bad at that. I
- 5:43Speaker 3: would like to improve upon that. I have been writing
- 5:47Speaker 3: down what Dawson does says, and what Hayden does and
- 5:50Speaker 3: stuff which I wanted to put in a journal. I've
- 5:54Speaker 3: been doing that and I maybe skipt a few days,
- 5:56Speaker 3: so I got to get back on there. Let's see
- 5:59Speaker 3: what else did I say that I wanted to do
- 6:02Speaker 3: up take supplements that I've bought. Nope, haven't done that.
- 6:05Speaker 3: I have eliminated plastic cups for my kids. They're now
- 6:09Speaker 3: drinking out of stainless steel. Yes, and uh, let's see.
- 6:14Speaker 1: Yes, I like that.
- 6:15Speaker 2: He just looked at me like yes, life.
- 6:19Speaker 3: And then go outside for a few minutes every day.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I wouldn't say it's every day, but I did take
- 6:23Speaker 3: a few walks last week and it was. It made
- 6:26Speaker 3: me feel great. Getting the movement and the fresh air
- 6:30Speaker 3: and the day the sunlight on me. Fate made me
- 6:33Speaker 3: feel so good. I needed to incorporate that more and more.
- 6:37Speaker 2: Jessicat, I talked about that after you two spoke. She
- 6:41Speaker 2: came in the room. I was like, how to go.
- 6:43Speaker 2: She goes great. I was like, what was some takeaways?
- 6:45Speaker 2: And she's like, well, Ashley wants to walk more. And
- 6:48Speaker 2: I was like, you know, we thought we talked about
- 6:49Speaker 2: We're like, that's one of the best habits we have
- 6:52Speaker 2: as a couple. I mean, you know, we try hard to,
- 6:55Speaker 2: you know, keep our relationship happy and healthy and fresh,
- 6:58Speaker 2: and I mean, goodness, I could have never imagined a
- 7:01Speaker 2: marriage as wonderful as we have it because my wife
- 7:05Speaker 2: is so great she gets to deal with me. But
- 7:08Speaker 2: I do think one of the like secret tricks to
- 7:11Speaker 2: why we feel so good, why we get to like
- 7:17Speaker 2: communicate so much, is because we go on so many walks.
- 7:20Speaker 2: I mean I walk, like right now, I'm averaging just
- 7:24Speaker 2: this week about seven miles a day. That's a lot
- 7:26Speaker 2: of walking.
- 7:27Speaker 3: Moly. I'm just trying to get one in.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Yeah, that's and that's a start. I'm just saying, getting outside,
- 7:33Speaker 2: getting a walk in, feeling the sun, just it's it's
- 7:37Speaker 2: good for you. And here's my other comment, Ashley, I
- 7:42Speaker 2: am with you. I got through a phase where I
- 7:44Speaker 2: was scrolling at night. I don't get on social media
- 7:47Speaker 2: much during the day, you know stuff exactly.
- 7:49Speaker 3: That's the thing, Like, I know that I need to
- 7:51Speaker 3: be on it to a certain extent because of what
- 7:52Speaker 3: I do. So then I end up looking at it
- 7:55Speaker 3: in a like doom scrolling way at night because I'm like, oh,
- 7:58Speaker 3: I'm catching up on the whole day and this is
- 8:00Speaker 3: like kind of fun. And then I look at the
- 8:02Speaker 3: clock and it's too late for me to watch TV.
- 8:06Speaker 2: Well, and I noticed that, and even if I couldn't
- 8:09Speaker 2: pick up on it, And I think this is a
- 8:11Speaker 2: key element for so many right now. I didn't even
- 8:14Speaker 2: realize how much envy, jealousy, stress, anxiety, whatever was like
- 8:20Speaker 2: getting put on me from scrolling. And then there'd be
- 8:23Speaker 2: like these moments of oh my gosh, it's so cool
- 8:25Speaker 2: that they're doing this, and then there the next one
- 8:27Speaker 2: would be like a breakup of two friends of mine
- 8:29Speaker 2: that I, you know, saw and it'd just be emotional
- 8:31Speaker 2: roller coaster and I wasn't sleeping and so I've stopped.
- 8:35Speaker 2: In fact, at nine fifteen, my phone doesn't like, I mean,
- 8:41Speaker 2: I could still do it, but it like pretty much
- 8:42Speaker 2: shuts off. It's done. It won't even let me in. Yeah,
- 8:46Speaker 2: because at that point you think can wait till the
- 8:47Speaker 2: next day, and that's worked. I have a friend actually here,
- 8:51Speaker 2: listen to this. Yeah, my in laws they're best friends
- 8:56Speaker 2: for twenty They started this actually in twenty twenty five,
- 8:59Speaker 2: I think, and it's still going on. When they go
- 9:02Speaker 2: out to dinner with like themselves or a couple, they
- 9:06Speaker 2: leave their phones at home. Now granted they're empty nesters.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Yeah, they're empty nesters there, so that's different.
- 9:11Speaker 1: They can do that.
- 9:12Speaker 2: But I do think making those intentional changes to where
- 9:15Speaker 2: our phones are on us less often once you get
- 9:18Speaker 2: used to it. I do think it has always been good,
- 9:21Speaker 2: like it's never I've never been like I wish I
- 9:23Speaker 2: would have done more on my phone. I might like
- 9:25Speaker 2: social media because I do so little. But yeah, I
- 9:29Speaker 2: like your changes.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Thanks, And yeah, my ten o'clock was kind of like
- 9:33Speaker 3: my idea, Like you put your phone away, you can
- 9:36Speaker 3: look up like a random thing. Yes, but you can't
- 9:39Speaker 3: open up like Instagram. It's kind of my thing.
- 9:42Speaker 2: It's an app that just showed me that has like
- 9:45Speaker 2: you can block time on things like if you pay
- 9:48Speaker 2: too much time, it kicks it off.
- 9:51Speaker 3: I can't do that though, for work reasons. I can't
- 9:53Speaker 3: be like, oh I have to post this at this
- 9:55Speaker 3: time and then be like, well, no, I didn't allow
- 9:57Speaker 3: myself to do it. It's tough. I get it because
- 10:00Speaker 3: it's all about the algorithm for me, you know, like
- 10:02Speaker 3: I'm a science I'm a scientist of the algorithm. I
- 10:04Speaker 3: have to do it at certain times and space them
- 10:06Speaker 3: out accordingly. Anyway, maybe don't teach me. Thanks, thanks for
- 10:10Speaker 3: saying that I need to be a teacher of yours.
- 10:13Speaker 2: You teach me a lot, Ashley. In fact, you've taught
- 10:16Speaker 2: me a lot about life.
- 10:17Speaker 3: No, I have not.
- 10:19Speaker 2: What are you talking about? Yes, you have.
- 10:22Speaker 3: I'm so kind.
- 10:24Speaker 2: We can't do this thing for as long as we've
- 10:26Speaker 2: done it without you teaching us something, teaching me something, right, Yeah,
- 10:31Speaker 2: unless you're unhappy with this work relationship.
- 10:33Speaker 3: Oh it's very I'm so very happy. It's such a
- 10:35Speaker 3: healthy work relationship. I love it so much.
- 10:37Speaker 2: I talk to you more than I bet you're outside
- 10:39Speaker 2: of my wife, you're probably the second most. You're the second. Yeah,
- 10:44Speaker 2: talk to human and really well yeah.
- 10:46Speaker 3: Your work in my world, Oh your world.
- 10:50Speaker 2: Think about it. I talked to you three times a week.
- 10:52Speaker 3: It's so sweet. I definitely talk to my sister more
- 10:55Speaker 3: than I talk to you, but like, you're right, if
- 10:58Speaker 3: we do log to hours, that is a lot. So
- 11:02Speaker 3: I probably long longer than that with Laurena on FaceTime
- 11:05Speaker 3: and stuff, and then my parents are like probably like
- 11:08Speaker 3: right there with you.
- 11:09Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:11Speaker 3: And obviously Jared is before Lauren because he lives with me,
- 11:15Speaker 3: but he does live with Lauren on FaceTime a lot.
- 11:17Speaker 3: Speaking of Lauren, the biggest thing that happened to me
- 11:19Speaker 3: this week is obviously my sister had a baby, which
- 11:22Speaker 3: is huge for our family radulations.
- 11:25Speaker 2: Is it going well?
- 11:27Speaker 3: Yes, he had a very There was a very easy delivery.
- 11:32Speaker 3: He came out like three hours after her water broke
- 11:36Speaker 3: and she went to the hospital and she wasn't really
- 11:39Speaker 3: contracting very much. They knew that she was gonna have
- 11:41Speaker 3: to have to see section because he was a very
- 11:43Speaker 3: preach so they saw where, you know, what was going
- 11:47Speaker 3: on down there, and was basically like, okay, we're gonna
- 11:50Speaker 3: call it doctor in. And she was rolled into the
- 11:54Speaker 3: r at like nine thirty am and he was out
- 11:57Speaker 3: by nine fifty And it was just easy not to
- 12:00Speaker 3: I know, it's kind of annoying to hear, but like
- 12:03Speaker 3: it was kind of easy. Peusy good for.
- 12:07Speaker 2: You, don't want it hard.
- 12:08Speaker 3: No, I mean like I just mean now, it's like
- 12:11Speaker 3: my sister and I just like three pretty easy berths.
- 12:15Speaker 3: My sister legitimately, oh, she was like she had a
- 12:20Speaker 3: sea section, and everybody's like, oh, you know the recovery time,
- 12:22Speaker 3: the woman was like walking around like normal a day later.
- 12:27Speaker 3: It was strange.
- 12:28Speaker 2: It's your bloodline, it's that superhuman blood.
- 12:31Speaker 3: I don't know the fact that she had a schedule.
- 12:34Speaker 3: It was like, yes, it was technically ten days before
- 12:38Speaker 3: her schedule sea section, but because like she wasn't really
- 12:41Speaker 3: in like very active labor, it wasn't an emergency sea section,
- 12:45Speaker 3: which obviously helped the healing process. And the kid is
- 12:49Speaker 3: very cute. His name is Rocky. He's very adorable. He's
- 12:51Speaker 3: a silly little bird. I tell you. He likes to
- 12:54Speaker 3: like open his mouth and like look like he's gonna
- 12:56Speaker 3: take a worm. He's so tiny, like he was born
- 13:03Speaker 3: six pounds one ounce, oh wow, and then like you know,
- 13:07Speaker 3: they usually lose a couple ounces and he's just so tiny.
- 13:11Speaker 3: And my kids have always been eight something, you know,
- 13:13Speaker 3: like yeah, Hayden was eight eight and then Dawson was
- 13:19Speaker 3: eight four.
- 13:19Speaker 2: I think.
- 13:21Speaker 3: So it's just so crazy. Holding a baby like thirty
- 13:24Speaker 3: percent less.
- 13:26Speaker 2: Yeah, that is wild. Well, we're so pumped for her
- 13:29Speaker 2: and for them. A little Rocky enters into the family.
- 13:43Speaker 2: Final thing, I want to ask you about Ashley twenty
- 13:46Speaker 2: twenty six. I'm hoping has been off to a good
- 13:49Speaker 2: start for you, and I don't know how you feel
- 13:52Speaker 2: about this.
- 13:54Speaker 3: I see where we're going on our rundown and I laugh.
- 13:57Speaker 2: What do you think about Joe Jonas being in her relationship?
- 14:00Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I mean, you know what, this is
- 14:02Speaker 3: all I have to say as a married woman. I
- 14:05Speaker 3: just hope that Joe performs with a girlfriend the way
- 14:08Speaker 3: that he has performed being this single guy in the band.
- 14:12Speaker 3: Because if you are a Jonas fan, you know that,
- 14:14Speaker 3: like this past tour, Joe delivered like never before. He
- 14:19Speaker 3: was up there like flirting and being so sultry on
- 14:23Speaker 3: stage and he was hamming it up and they they
- 14:27Speaker 3: honestly did. I feel like this was such a popular
- 14:30Speaker 3: tour of theirs and so seen on social media because
- 14:34Speaker 3: Joe was being such a ham and I just hope
- 14:37Speaker 3: that he acts on stage the way that he has
- 14:40Speaker 3: as a single guy.
- 14:41Speaker 2: I know that if you know, you know this is
- 14:45Speaker 2: all about the stage. You're not hoping he's doing this
- 14:47Speaker 2: at home with her.
- 14:50Speaker 3: I don't want to know that stuff. We all want
- 14:52Speaker 3: to pretend like Joe is single. Oh yeah, we need
- 15:00Speaker 3: our single energy. Joe. Yeah, Sonny though so funny. I
- 15:06Speaker 3: actually don't even know Instagram and that's a little weird.
- 15:11Speaker 2: Come on, Oh he's that one, wasn't he like calling
- 15:16Speaker 2: himself Zane? Like why do I he looks like a Zaying,
- 15:18Speaker 2: like a Zayan guy.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Okay, well, Zayan is from one direction. But they both
- 15:24Speaker 3: did date gdied Ah type.
- 15:28Speaker 2: So two separate people.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Two separate bands, two.
- 15:32Speaker 2: Separate bands, makes sense, now you go. Joe kind of
- 15:36Speaker 2: kind of has like a like a Bond Jovi.
- 15:39Speaker 3: He look to him, Are we looking at the same person?
- 15:44Speaker 2: I don't actually good for him? Okay, heavy, he's happy opposite.
- 15:51Speaker 3: I No, it's totally fine, but like I would love
- 15:54Speaker 3: to talk about it more. But you know, good for Joe.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Just keep the single energy going because we really really
- 16:01Speaker 3: have fun around here with it.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Oh my gosh. All right, hey, this has been the
- 16:04Speaker 2: almost famous podcast. We do truly wish you the greatest
- 16:10Speaker 2: extended weekend. Monday is Martin Luther King Day. There's a
- 16:14Speaker 2: ton of stuff on television if you're a sports fan,
- 16:17Speaker 2: but also take time to reflect, rest and relax until
- 16:22Speaker 2: next time.
- 16:23Speaker 3: I've been Ben and I've been Ashley and Joe like,
- 16:26Speaker 3: we're all happy. If you're happy, bye, No, we're happy,
- 16:30Speaker 3: you're happy. Bye.
