Latest / DEEP INSIGHT / First batch of texts from Fauci's government iPhone released
Transcript
- 0:01Speaker 1: Breaking right now, Republican Senators Ron Johnson and Ran Paul
- 0:04Speaker 1: releasing the first batch of text messages from doctor Anthony
- 0:08Speaker 1: Fauci's government iPhone. In one exchange from January of twenty
- 0:13Speaker 1: twenty one, Fauci, then CDC Director Rachelle Lensky, and then
- 0:17Speaker 1: Surgeon General Vivik Murphy discussed COVID vaccination and pregnant women.
- 0:22Speaker 1: Fauci flags a potential concern after the second dose, writing
- 0:26Speaker 1: that many people experience quote significant cytokine storm and fever
- 0:31Speaker 1: and that this quote theoretically could be associated with miscarriage
- 0:36Speaker 1: in the first trimester. Welenski responds, quote, definitely a good point,
- 0:41Speaker 1: especially after dose two. A cytokine storm is essentially when
- 0:44Speaker 1: the body releases too many inflammatory signals that could cause
- 0:48Speaker 1: high fever, inflammation, and in extreme cases, life threatening illness.
- 0:53Speaker 1: So this has just coming to light now, Sandra, that
- 0:55Speaker 1: Fauci had these concerns, And I remember when I got
- 0:59Speaker 1: the booster, I developed pera carditis than that away, then
- 1:02Speaker 1: when I had the second booster, it came roaring back again.
- 1:05Speaker 1: So you know, the body reacts differently to these things
- 1:09Speaker 1: depending on who you.
- 1:09Speaker 2: Are, and it goes back to to the discussion we
- 1:11Speaker 2: were having around the hearing last week and some of
- 1:14Speaker 2: the questions in the room how doctor Fauci wasn't actually
- 1:17Speaker 2: seeing or treating any of these patients to see some
- 1:19Speaker 2: of these effects first hand, but just speaks volumes to
- 1:23Speaker 2: the severity and the importance obviously the decisions that were
- 1:27Speaker 2: being made in that time, and you know, obviously brings
- 1:31Speaker 2: up an even bigger concern that we can't get him
- 1:33Speaker 2: to answer any questions today.
- 1:34Speaker 1: John, Yeah, I mean one hundred and eleven times he
- 1:37Speaker 1: took the Fifth Amendment even though he was at no
- 1:40Speaker 1: risk of incriminating himself because he'd already been pardoned by
- 1:43Speaker 1: President Biden.
- 1:44Speaker 2: All right, let's bring in our senior Congression correspondent, Chad Program.
- 1:47Speaker 2: He's live on Capitol Hill with more on all of this.
- 1:49Speaker 3: He Chad Santra and John. We're just starting to process
- 1:52Speaker 3: some of these text messages that was obtained by Ron
- 1:55Speaker 3: Johnson the Republican Center from Wisconsin and Ran Paul. They
- 1:58Speaker 3: both serve on the Senate Homeland Security and Government Affairs Committee.
- 2:02Speaker 3: And as you say, he appeared under subpoena at that
- 2:04Speaker 3: hearing last week and a couple of days later, you know,
- 2:08Speaker 3: we got this note from Ron Johnson here that they
- 2:10Speaker 3: had obtained a copy of the cell phone that Anthony
- 2:14Speaker 3: Fauci had used during the pandemic from HHS. So there's
- 2:17Speaker 3: more than thirty four thousand messages here and we're just
- 2:20Speaker 3: starting to fillay those right now to understand what's in
- 2:24Speaker 3: some of these messages. And one thing I look at here.
- 2:26Speaker 3: You know, there's this message between Fauci and Vivicmurthy, who
- 2:30Speaker 3: was the Attorney Surgeon General at the time, and he says,
- 2:34Speaker 3: for pregnant women, this is Murthy writing to Fauci here,
- 2:38Speaker 3: for pregnant women considering getting the vaccine, are you aware
- 2:41Speaker 3: of any data or theoretical reason why vaccinated vaccinating early
- 2:45Speaker 3: versus late in pregnancy would be preferred. That's a message
- 2:49Speaker 3: from late January of twenty twenty one. You have to
- 2:52Speaker 3: remember go back in time here five and a half
- 2:54Speaker 3: years ago. That's when they were just starting to push
- 2:56Speaker 3: out the vaccine and people were getting this. Here's an
- 3:00Speaker 3: other message from just a day later. This is January
- 3:02Speaker 3: sixth of twenty twenty one. Again, this is Murthy writing
- 3:05Speaker 3: to Fauci. What is the sense? As well as Tony
- 3:08Speaker 3: that I was surprised to see the who put out
- 3:11Speaker 3: a strong like saying that they do not recommend maderna
- 3:14Speaker 3: in pregnant women. That's a strong statement to make and
- 3:17Speaker 3: potentially quite damaging to public confidence among pregnant women. Now
- 3:22Speaker 3: we've just called Ron Johnson, who's on that committee, and
- 3:25Speaker 3: again this was his subcommittee which is under the Homeland
- 3:28Speaker 3: Security and Government Affairs Committee that had Fauci before it
- 3:32Speaker 3: last week, and we're trying to get some information from that.
- 3:36Speaker 3: I'm going to be talking to Ron Johnson hopefully here
- 3:38Speaker 3: in about the next twenty five thirty minutes, and maybe
- 3:40Speaker 3: he can flesh out some of these concerns. Again, I
- 3:43Speaker 3: want to come back to this fundamental point here that
- 3:45Speaker 3: the Senator is on the Republican side of the aisle.
- 3:48Speaker 3: At that hearing about a week and a half ago,
- 3:50Speaker 3: they were frustrated with Anthony Fauci because they had questions
- 3:54Speaker 3: for him about what the origins of the pandemic were,
- 3:57Speaker 3: but also some of this information that was gleaned about
- 4:00Speaker 3: to the vaccine, whether or not it worked properly or
- 4:03Speaker 3: seeing some questions right there about particular types of vaccines.
- 4:07Speaker 3: Remember this is from Maderna, and they just wanted to
- 4:10Speaker 3: get to the bottom of some of this, and don't
- 4:12Speaker 3: forget that. They then sent a criminal referral to the
- 4:15Speaker 3: Department of Justice on behalf of that committee, did not
- 4:18Speaker 3: pass it through the entire Senate, but send it down
- 4:21Speaker 3: to DOJ. DOJ indicated late last week that it was
- 4:25Speaker 3: in receipt of that. Some folks, you know, who are
- 4:28Speaker 3: legal eagles will argue that because they did not do
- 4:30Speaker 3: this by the book, did not pass this through the
- 4:33Speaker 3: entire Senate, that they might look askance at that at DOJ.
- 4:36Speaker 3: And also people who are constitutional scholars would argue that,
- 4:40Speaker 3: you know, he did in fact invoke the Fifth although
- 4:42Speaker 3: there's some question about whether or not, you know, since
- 4:44Speaker 3: he had that kind of expost facto shield offered by
- 4:49Speaker 3: former President Biden with the pardon there as to whether
- 4:52Speaker 3: or not that would apply even if they were to
- 4:54Speaker 3: prosecute Fauci. This will probably wind up in court for
- 4:56Speaker 3: quite a while as they, you know, go through that
- 4:59Speaker 3: Fifth Amendment question in there. But these are our documents
- 5:02Speaker 3: and things that people are going to have a lot
- 5:03Speaker 3: of interest in understanding if it probably goes far beyond
- 5:07Speaker 3: the vaccine. These are the first things that we've seen
- 5:10Speaker 3: so far, Thirty four thousand messages is a lot to
- 5:12Speaker 3: fill at when we've only had this about twenty minutes
- 5:15Speaker 3: or so. We just don't know. So we will continue
- 5:17Speaker 3: to look at this and as we get things that
- 5:19Speaker 3: are newsworthy, we will bring them to you.
- 5:20Speaker 2: Guys.
- 5:21Speaker 1: Hey, Chad, it's John here. I thought it was kind
- 5:23Speaker 1: of curious that, according to the senators when they released
- 5:27Speaker 1: this information, Faucci had only three named contacts in his iPhone,
- 5:32Speaker 1: but he had thousands and thousands of messages.
- 5:35Speaker 3: Yeah, and that's what they said, that sometimes these were
- 5:38Speaker 3: individual just telephone numbers, you know. Sometimes there are certainly
- 5:41Speaker 3: some people I have in my phone, for instance, which
- 5:44Speaker 3: is just a telephone number because I haven't bothered to
- 5:45Speaker 3: put in the contact. But again, you know, but I
- 5:48Speaker 3: also have an awful lot of contacts under names, especially
- 5:51Speaker 3: having been on Capitol Hill for years and years and years,
- 5:55Speaker 3: and so that is a little strange, and so we
- 5:57Speaker 3: don't know what that means. We don't know if that
- 5:59Speaker 3: was make it harder for them to divine who he's
- 6:02Speaker 3: talking to or who he's texting with or calling, and
- 6:06Speaker 3: whether he just didn't keep a contact list. The in
- 6:09Speaker 3: the way that we do now a lot of us
- 6:10Speaker 3: on our telephones.
- 6:12Speaker 1: So so sorry, but so should we assume, since they
- 6:15Speaker 1: know that this was Rachelle Lensky and Vivic Murphy, that
- 6:19Speaker 1: those were two of the named contacts.
- 6:21Speaker 3: I think that that would be my divination of this
- 6:23Speaker 3: as I look at this at first blush because again,
- 6:25Speaker 3: how else would you know unless they had done you know,
- 6:28Speaker 3: two plus two and somebody says, we know that's Lensky's number,
- 6:31Speaker 3: we know this is Murthy's number, or something like that.
- 6:33Speaker 3: It appears that there might be another level of this
- 6:36Speaker 3: as they try to assess that if they come up
- 6:37Speaker 3: with interesting text messages and say, well, who was that
- 6:40Speaker 3: that he was talking to? Unless they know that person
- 6:43Speaker 3: at HHS or someplace else in government or maybe somebody
- 6:46Speaker 3: you know putting out information about the pandemic or writing
- 6:49Speaker 3: in a Nature Medicine, you know, the very controversial article
- 6:53Speaker 3: about proximal origins of the pandemic. That's something that they
- 6:57Speaker 3: have to look at.
- 6:58Speaker 2: A lot to dig into. You here. I really appreciate
- 7:01Speaker 2: the update. Chad, jump back in as you get more
- 7:03Speaker 2: breaking news.
