- 1:03Speaker 4: Hello and welcome to Juicy Scoop. I have one of
- 1:07Speaker 4: our favorites. I've known him forever. The hilarious writer, actor, model, commentator,
- 1:16Speaker 4: just all over great standup comic, one man show, touring
- 1:21Speaker 4: the world.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Guy Branum, welcome back to Juicy Scoop.
- 1:25Speaker 5: I've been focusing on my modeling work recently.
- 1:27Speaker 2: Yeah, you're looking good.
- 1:29Speaker 5: I was in Milan for Fashion Week and then had
- 1:31Speaker 5: to leave before the Olympics.
- 1:33Speaker 4: Oh, well, and there's so much going on with the
- 1:35Speaker 4: Olympics that you just, let's get right into it.
- 1:39Speaker 2: This guy.
- 1:41Speaker 4: Thank gosh he's American.
- 1:43Speaker 2: He won the gold, right? He's broken all, what is
- 1:47Speaker 2: his name?
- 1:48Speaker 5: Ilya.
- 1:49Speaker 4: I just have this photo of him because I saw
- 1:51Speaker 4: him everywhere, but he is male figure skater single and
- 1:55Speaker 4: he won the gold for that.
- 1:56Speaker 2: And he did a quad, four twirls.
- 2:00Speaker 5: He won the gold for the team. And then he's
- 2:02Speaker 5: going back to see if he'll win the individual medal.
- 2:05Speaker 5: But it's just so exciting that like, Just months after
- 2:07Speaker 5: getting a famous blonde Ilya in heated rivalry, we have
- 2:11Speaker 5: another Ilya who is, you know, on the ground in
- 2:14Speaker 5: Milan winning gold medals.
- 2:17Speaker 4: And breaking a record in that he did seven quads.
- 2:21Speaker 4: Meaning he got up there, went once around, two around,
- 2:26Speaker 4: three around, four around, then came down.
- 2:28Speaker 2: Yes. And then did it. Six other times or something.
- 2:32Speaker 5: I just, as a child of the 80s, it's really
- 2:35Speaker 5: important for us to, like, win the medal count at
- 2:38Speaker 5: the Olympics. It lets me know that America's doing okay.
- 2:41Speaker 2: How do you feel about the gold medals breaking? They're
- 2:44Speaker 2: like crap. Have you heard about this?
- 2:45Speaker 4: Oh, yeah. No, people are filming that it's broken in half.
- 2:49Speaker 4: And then so they like have to fix it. And
- 2:52Speaker 4: then there was another one where they're like, all right, well,
- 2:55Speaker 4: since yours broke, here's another.
- 2:57Speaker 2: Your name isn't on it. So you'll just have to go.
- 2:58Speaker 4: I'm like, so this person has to get home and
- 3:01Speaker 4: go to like some trophy shop. and pay whatever, how
- 3:06Speaker 4: much ever it's gonna be and then what if they
- 3:09Speaker 4: get the name wrong and now you have a gold
- 3:12Speaker 4: medal with the wrong, I mean like.
- 3:13Speaker 5: Also you worked your whole life to get this thing
- 3:16Speaker 5: and then your life will never be as good again.
- 3:18Speaker 2: I know.
- 3:18Speaker 5: Like this is supposed to be the best thing. But
- 3:20Speaker 5: it does make me worry about the bigger problem of
- 3:22Speaker 5: like no one makes money from the Olympics anymore and
- 3:25Speaker 5: the Olympics are bad for your town and I worry
- 3:27Speaker 5: about our poor Los Angeles in two years, you know?
- 3:29Speaker 4: Geez, right, well I do think you'll wanna go to things.
- 3:34Speaker 4: I mean, when we have the Olympics here.
- 3:36Speaker 5: My friend Jason was like, you're going to want to
- 3:37Speaker 5: see who like the opening ceremonies are going to be good. And,
- 3:41Speaker 5: you know, those will be good bookings, you know, like
- 3:43Speaker 5: it's Los Angeles. Everyone lives here. You're going to get
- 3:45Speaker 5: very famous people. But part of me is like, should
- 3:49Speaker 5: we all just be making a bunch of money off
- 3:51Speaker 5: of Airbnb?
- 3:52Speaker 4: Well, would you like to talk to a native Angeleno
- 3:54Speaker 4: like me who lived here during 84?
- 3:55Speaker 2: OK, yes, yes.
- 3:59Speaker 4: There wasn't even a way, you know, if people were
- 4:02Speaker 4: renting their house, I guess they were putting it in
- 4:04Speaker 4: ads or something because we didn't have Airbnb. But so
- 4:08Speaker 4: many people thought the traffic would be so awful and everything.
- 4:11Speaker 4: They left and went on their European vacations and Hawaii
- 4:15Speaker 4: and everything. And people did allow their houses to be
- 4:19Speaker 4: rented out. And the traffic was deader than any time.
- 4:25Speaker 2: It was great.
- 4:26Speaker 4: We were able to go to, We went to some
- 4:30Speaker 4: like running and stuff, you know, you know, we couldn't
- 4:33Speaker 4: get the good one like gymnastics. But now I'm like, oh,
- 4:37Speaker 4: it's kind of a lot of pressure because when it happens,
- 4:39Speaker 4: you know, I'm like, you know, an older established person
- 4:43Speaker 4: like I could spend a lot of money.
- 4:45Speaker 5: Yes.
- 4:46Speaker 4: And get cool tickets and have that experience like I
- 4:50Speaker 4: can afford to do it.
- 4:52Speaker 2: But like, do I want to?
- 4:53Speaker 5: So the question is, what connections do you have? You know,
- 4:56Speaker 5: the question is always, I know.
- 4:58Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 4:58Speaker 4: Like, will the LA connect? Will, will they make it that,
- 5:01Speaker 4: you know, no, we got to make it fair and
- 5:02Speaker 4: you can't buy the ticket. I don't know how they're
- 5:04Speaker 4: going to do it, how they're going to get around
- 5:07Speaker 4: the LA red tape where the agency has, you know,
- 5:10Speaker 4: your agent has like 30 tickets and who gets those
- 5:13Speaker 4: and who hands this on like kind of regular person,
- 5:16Speaker 4: just have a good experience going to the Olympics in LA.
- 5:18Speaker 5: Okay. But also I hadn't thought about it until this moment,
- 5:21Speaker 5: but like the gay bars are gonna be off the
- 5:24Speaker 5: hook for that week. Like it's just gonna be full
- 5:28Speaker 5: of Romanian gymnasts.
- 5:29Speaker 4: Do you think they'll still, do you think Sur will
- 5:31Speaker 4: finally be full? Can they hang on two more years?
- 5:36Speaker 5: I think so. It's an amazing business venture. Honestly, every
- 5:40Speaker 5: time I've ever been to Sur, they were doing a
- 5:41Speaker 5: nice business.
- 5:42Speaker 4: And I wonder what reality shows that shoot in LA
- 5:46Speaker 4: will be filming during the Olympics.
- 5:48Speaker 2: That could be a good- That would be amazing. That
- 5:50Speaker 2: would be good. And then you watch it six months later.
- 5:52Speaker 5: To have Real Housewives of Beverly Hills having a real
- 5:56Speaker 5: load-bearing scene- at Olympic tennis would be amazing.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Or having one of the, cause there's going to be
- 6:02Speaker 4: like next gen, um, LA, which is like the younger kids.
- 6:07Speaker 4: Like I think Heather Dubrow's son will be in it
- 6:09Speaker 4: and stuff. And so if they're filming that and, or sir,
- 6:14Speaker 4: or a Vanderpump or whatever, and then like someone like
- 6:17Speaker 4: is like, I just fucked like, yes, I was going
- 6:20Speaker 4: to say a Bob's letter, but they wouldn't be here
- 6:21Speaker 4: for the LA Olympics.
- 6:22Speaker 2: Okay. I just like, I just fucked. I, you know,
- 6:25Speaker 2: A male gymnast.
- 6:26Speaker 5: No, it's wonderful. Like when that guy from love Island
- 6:30Speaker 5: came and was having sex with, was it Lisa Rinna's daughter?
- 6:33Speaker 2: Oh, that's right. What was that?
- 6:36Speaker 5: Yes. There was like one of the guys from love
- 6:40Speaker 5: Island came and was like, um, Y'all, y'all, was having
- 6:47Speaker 5: sex with one of the real housewives of Beverly Hills' daughter. And, like,
- 6:50Speaker 5: that's a fun crossover. And, like, Bravo is part of
- 6:56Speaker 5: the universal family. Like, you know.
- 6:58Speaker 2: So ice skating is every girls' and gays' favorite sport. Yes, yes.
- 7:04Speaker 4: Um, I always felt like the Bob, the getting in
- 7:07Speaker 4: the little thing.
- 7:08Speaker 5: Yes.
- 7:09Speaker 4: I always was like, if I could just be like
- 7:10Speaker 4: number two or three, then I think it's pretty easy.
- 7:12Speaker 5: In the bobsled.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Yeah. The bobsled. Cause I'm not pushing it and jumping
- 7:16Speaker 2: in last.
- 7:17Speaker 5: Yes.
- 7:17Speaker 2: I'm just in it. Yes. And then just like say
- 7:20Speaker 2: a prayer. I think I could do that.
- 7:23Speaker 4: And, um, that's it. I couldn't do any other sports.
- 7:25Speaker 4: And so with ice skating, there's couple skating, which I love.
- 7:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 7:30Speaker 4: But then there's like the other thing, which is like
- 7:32Speaker 4: just like more casual ice skate.
- 7:35Speaker 5: Ice dancing?
- 7:36Speaker 4: I don't like it as much as traditional couple dance,
- 7:39Speaker 4: couple ice skating.
- 7:40Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 7:41Speaker 5: Because they can't do the jumps. I really love ice dancing.
- 7:44Speaker 5: And I think that this year was really exciting because,
- 7:46Speaker 5: you know, back in like the 1980s and stuff, they
- 7:49Speaker 5: were doing very ballroom style, bolero, that kind of thing. Okay.
- 7:53Speaker 5: And all of the ice dancers are a married couple
- 7:56Speaker 5: doing the gayest possible dance. One of them does Vogue.
- 8:01Speaker 5: I heard 100% pure love. These are, it sounds like pride.
- 8:07Speaker 5: But I also feel like something is lost because back
- 8:09Speaker 5: in the day, you had to look at it and
- 8:11Speaker 5: be like, oh, this is super gay, but they don't
- 8:13Speaker 5: realize it. And now you're watching it and you're like,
- 8:15Speaker 5: this is super gay and they know it. And they're
- 8:18Speaker 5: probably very devout Mormons.
- 8:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 8:22Speaker 4: Yeah, a lot of them are married couples. That's so funny.
- 8:25Speaker 5: What was like somebody posted to her Instagram like when
- 8:30Speaker 5: you're 11 years old and this boy asks you to
- 8:33Speaker 5: be his dance partner, say yes. And it's like you
- 8:36Speaker 5: guys have been working together professionally since you were like
- 8:39Speaker 5: 11 or whatever. And you also fell in love. That
- 8:42Speaker 5: feels weird.
- 8:43Speaker 4: I think there's nothing like kind of crazier than when
- 8:46Speaker 4: you do see the ballroom dancers dancing. And like the
- 8:49Speaker 4: boy is like shorter than the girl, but they're like eight.
- 8:53Speaker 5: Yes.
- 8:53Speaker 2: And he's just so intentional. There's just something you're like.
- 8:57Speaker 2: What am I watching?
- 8:59Speaker 5: It teaches a weird kind of confidence that I don't understand.
- 9:02Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 9:02Speaker 2: And then how does that even begin?
- 9:04Speaker 4: Like, OK, you're going to be doing you're going to
- 9:06Speaker 4: get into dance as a boy, but you're going to
- 9:09Speaker 4: be dancing like you're a 50 year old, you know, Cuban.
- 9:13Speaker 5: A mom just has to decide. A mom just has to, like,
- 9:16Speaker 5: put that upon. Like, I mean, your boys pretty much
- 9:19Speaker 5: ended up going into just like the things that Peter did. Right.
- 9:22Speaker 2: Yeah. Golf. Yeah. Yeah. So yeah, I don't know. But anyway,
- 9:26Speaker 2: that was cool.
- 9:27Speaker 4: And then also this guy that's just came out today,
- 9:30Speaker 4: he won a medal, I think for skiing, he's Norwegian.
- 9:33Speaker 2: And then after they're like, how are you feeling? And
- 9:35Speaker 2: he's like, it's great. I'm so happy.
- 9:37Speaker 4: It's been an incredible time. And three months ago I
- 9:40Speaker 4: met the greatest girl in the world. And then I
- 9:44Speaker 4: cheated on her and he admitted there, like in the interviews,
- 9:47Speaker 4: it's all over that he And then one of the
- 9:50Speaker 4: comments was like, I don't understand this Gen Z.
- 9:52Speaker 2: Like, why are you telling this on the biggest moment
- 9:56Speaker 2: of your life?
- 9:57Speaker 5: That's an amazing rom-com moment.
- 9:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 10:00Speaker 5: Like, I have one chance to win my girl back.
- 10:02Speaker 5: And you don't win her back if you get the bronze. Like,
- 10:05Speaker 5: if I win the gold.
- 10:06Speaker 2: And admit I'm a fuck up.
- 10:07Speaker 5: And admit I'm a fuck up. Then she might come back.
- 10:10Speaker 2: Amazing. Okay. Okay.
- 10:13Speaker 4: So the missing Nancy Guthrie story, as of we're recording
- 10:19Speaker 4: this Tuesday, what day are we?
- 10:23Speaker 2: The 10th?
- 10:24Speaker 5: 11th?
- 10:25Speaker 2: No, is this the 10th?
- 10:26Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:26Speaker 2: Tuesday the 10th.
- 10:28Speaker 4: And they did release a photo, which is a masked
- 10:32Speaker 4: man that they did, I guess, was able to catch
- 10:36Speaker 4: something on the Ring camera. I've heard so many different
- 10:38Speaker 4: things that the Ring cameras were shut down or they
- 10:41Speaker 4: used some jammer.
- 10:42Speaker 2: They were able to retrieve this photo. They put it everywhere.
- 10:46Speaker 4: And it just looks to be a man. It looks
- 10:49Speaker 4: like there's the space between the mask and the eyes
- 10:52Speaker 4: looks to be white.
- 10:53Speaker 2: So he appears to be white. And I don't know.
- 10:58Speaker 2: We don't know.
- 10:59Speaker 5: It's just very terrifying. Like it's Savannah Guthrie. Like it's
- 11:02Speaker 5: not the most famous or wealthy person in the world. Like,
- 11:05Speaker 5: why are you just like, oh, I know where a
- 11:08Speaker 5: medium-famous person's mom is? Like, that is very creepy to me.
- 11:12Speaker 4: I mean, the story is a crazy distraction because there's
- 11:18Speaker 4: so many elements to wonder which theory is right.
- 11:22Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 11:23Speaker 4: And right now, the theories are, one, that it was.
- 11:29Speaker 4: Just a random person that knew that she was a
- 11:32Speaker 4: wealthy woman or had a wealthy famous daughter and kidnapped
- 11:36Speaker 4: her and is doing the ransom note. And we don't
- 11:38Speaker 4: know who this person is. And is that person, someone
- 11:41Speaker 4: who worked on the house six months ago and I'm
- 11:43Speaker 4: planning this, is this someone who lives down the street?
- 11:46Speaker 2: Who's like a weirdo?
- 11:48Speaker 4: Um, is it, is it, it's somewhat sophisticated cause they
- 11:51Speaker 4: bought these, this thing called a jammer, which I now,
- 11:54Speaker 4: I guess a lot of criminals are able to do
- 11:56Speaker 4: and it like turns off the surveillance or something. The
- 11:59Speaker 4: next is, does it have anything to do with the
- 12:02Speaker 4: fact that she is on the Today Show, that she
- 12:05Speaker 4: has interviewed Epstein victims? I made a mistake on my
- 12:10Speaker 4: last episode. I said that I heard the son-in-law worked
- 12:13Speaker 4: for this company that scrubs the internet and also worked
- 12:19Speaker 4: for the Clintons. No, it was Savannah's husband that did that.
- 12:21Speaker 2: Uh-huh.
- 12:23Speaker 4: So with the Clintons being involved with the Epstein stuff
- 12:26Speaker 4: or agreeing to be questioned, does that have anything to
- 12:30Speaker 4: do with it? And then the third story is, you know,
- 12:36Speaker 4: was it somebody that knew her? Her sister and brother-in-law
- 12:40Speaker 4: live close by. They had a meal with her that night.
- 12:44Speaker 4: The brother-in-law was the last to drop her off, had
- 12:47Speaker 4: her walk in, saw her walk.
- 12:48Speaker 2: Into the.
- 12:51Speaker 4: Is there something there that we don't know about? You know,
- 12:54Speaker 4: and I'm not I don't want to accuse the brother
- 12:56Speaker 4: in law. But the theories going around is if it
- 13:00Speaker 4: was somebody like a family member, either them or someone else,
- 13:04Speaker 4: could it be that, you know, she was supporting them
- 13:07Speaker 4: or they were stealing from her or she said, I'm
- 13:08Speaker 4: not going to pay for this anymore or she discovered something.
- 13:11Speaker 4: And then they're like, oh, my God, I can't let
- 13:14Speaker 4: this get out. So those are the three theories. And honestly,
- 13:18Speaker 4: I have no idea which one it is.
- 13:21Speaker 5: I just think it's so hard that when people are
- 13:22Speaker 5: going through something like this, randos are speculating.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Yes, I know.
- 13:27Speaker 2: It's bad. But, I mean, you are a famous person.
- 13:29Speaker 2: I'm sorry. And it's a crime. We did it with
- 13:32Speaker 2: the Idaho Four until we knew who did it. I mean,
- 13:35Speaker 2: it just gets you wondering.
- 13:38Speaker 5: Well, and also, like, so much of the time, it
- 13:42Speaker 5: really is somebody who is connected over somebody who... who
- 13:46Speaker 5: isn't connected my biggest problem is just that it used
- 13:49Speaker 5: to be that to be good at crime you just
- 13:50Speaker 5: had to be strong and have no remorse and now
- 13:53Speaker 5: it requires so many tech skills and it's worrying to.
- 13:56Speaker 4: Me yeah i mean i know like so much of
- 13:59Speaker 4: the tech stuff is like like in some ways tech
- 14:04Speaker 4: made it easier to like cheat on your spouse right
- 14:06Speaker 4: yes you could have an extra phone you could have
- 14:09Speaker 4: But in another way, it makes it that you can't
- 14:11Speaker 4: because everything can be tracked.
- 14:14Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 14:14Speaker 2: Your home can have, you know, cameras on it.
- 14:17Speaker 4: So if you had like a rendezvous with somebody, you know,
- 14:20Speaker 4: your spouse could see it. You know, it's just like
- 14:25Speaker 4: it's a weird time.
- 14:26Speaker 2: You're right.
- 14:27Speaker 5: Well, and there's also the weird way that like there
- 14:29Speaker 5: is so much violence in our society that is like
- 14:31Speaker 5: random and directionless. that something like this can almost feel
- 14:36Speaker 5: like hokey or old school. They're just like, you know,
- 14:39Speaker 5: they're kidnapping a rich person to try to like.
- 14:42Speaker 4: They're kidnapping the 84 year old mother of like the, like,
- 14:48Speaker 4: the most likable girl on the today show. Like the
- 14:51Speaker 4: whole thing, it literally does.
- 14:53Speaker 2: It feels like it's out of like a Batman movie.
- 14:55Speaker 2: It feels so weird.
- 14:58Speaker 4: And I think that's why everyone's just like, where, what
- 15:00Speaker 4: is happening in the world? Like, this is such a
- 15:03Speaker 4: weird story and such a strange story. And it's been
- 15:08Speaker 4: over a week now. And I just wonder like, will
- 15:12Speaker 4: we ever have an answer? And I, I feel so
- 15:15Speaker 4: badly for them.
- 15:16Speaker 5: Well, and it also just like, I never fully understood
- 15:20Speaker 5: what the story with the Lindbergh baby was, but like
- 15:23Speaker 5: just the notion of mid-level famous people having to be
- 15:27Speaker 5: more worried about somebody, you know, it's like, maybe we
- 15:32Speaker 5: shouldn't snag kids or old people.
- 15:35Speaker 4: And I just don't know that an old person has
- 15:37Speaker 4: ever been kidnapped before. That's the weirdest thing. It's like
- 15:41Speaker 4: no one's ever thought of it. And now I'm wondering,
- 15:44Speaker 4: is this like going to give someone a new idea
- 15:46Speaker 4: of what you could do to somehow like make money?
- 15:51Speaker 2: It's just awful. Okay.
- 15:53Speaker 4: So anyway, getting back to the Super Bowl, this story
- 15:58Speaker 4: I did not know about. This guy was streaked or whatever.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Which is where he didn't get fully naked. He just
- 16:05Speaker 2: had like a shirt off.
- 16:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 16:07Speaker 4: And the story behind it is he bet, he put
- 16:11Speaker 4: it out a bet or created a bet that someone
- 16:13Speaker 4: will streak. And then he had, he had the meta
- 16:17Speaker 4: glasses on. So you could see his point of view
- 16:19Speaker 4: of running around. He had a friend, I guess, do
- 16:22Speaker 4: some distraction so he could get on it. So now
- 16:25Speaker 4: there's a streak. So now he's due for the, to
- 16:27Speaker 4: gain the money. And then he did it a couple
- 16:30Speaker 4: of years ago in a different streaking outfit. The good
- 16:34Speaker 4: news is his body got better in the last two years,
- 16:37Speaker 4: the body got better. And so I'm like, I don't
- 16:41Speaker 4: really understand. I know there's so much betting and everything.
- 16:44Speaker 4: And now I hear these betting commercials and they're like,
- 16:47Speaker 4: put your prediction in. So they're like calling it prediction
- 16:51Speaker 4: instead of betting. And, um, But I mean, I don't
- 16:55Speaker 4: know what the rules are. This isn't, I mean, betting
- 16:58Speaker 4: is betting.
- 16:59Speaker 5: Like, I am just happy that that man tackled him.
- 17:03Speaker 5: Like we are just going viral has made it so
- 17:07Speaker 5: incentivized for people to like prank each other or do
- 17:10Speaker 5: stupid shit. And you hear about, you know, all of
- 17:13Speaker 5: these people who are like trying to get a photo
- 17:15Speaker 5: and then die or, you know, or like surprise that
- 17:19Speaker 5: when they break the law to do something zany and
- 17:22Speaker 5: That they actually have legal consequences. I've always said that
- 17:25Speaker 5: pranks are just crimes committed by heterosexual white teenagers.
- 17:30Speaker 2: Remember all the prank shows? Remember the Ashton Kutcher prank shows?
- 17:36Speaker 5: I wrote for that one.
- 17:37Speaker 2: What were some that you did?
- 17:40Speaker 5: The thing is, it was so terrible.
- 17:43Speaker 4: They had- So it was celebrity, remind people, it was
- 17:46Speaker 4: hidden camera.
- 17:47Speaker 5: It was hidden camera and it was celebrities. And the
- 17:50Speaker 5: season I was on, they had hired writers, but then
- 17:53Speaker 5: it hadn't worked. And then they let them all go.
- 17:56Speaker 5: And then it was me and, like, three other guys.
- 17:58Speaker 5: And I was informed by Ashton Kutcher's producing partner that
- 18:01Speaker 5: I was the female writer. And I was like, you
- 18:04Speaker 5: know that there are women, don't you, who could write
- 18:06Speaker 5: for this show? So the ones that I was responsible
- 18:10Speaker 5: for was, like, Demi Lovato heard a ghost. Some girl, like,
- 18:15Speaker 5: it was the golden age of we did something mean
- 18:18Speaker 5: to– the car of a girl who was in Twilight.
- 18:22Speaker 5: Everyone was from Twilight or High School Musical. And then
- 18:25Speaker 5: I think a High School Musical girl, she went to
- 18:27Speaker 5: a yogurt shop and the yogurt wouldn't stop coming out.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Oh, so those are pretty innocent.
- 18:31Speaker 5: Yes.
- 18:32Speaker 4: But there were a couple really awful ones where I
- 18:35Speaker 4: want to say it was with Taylor.
- 18:37Speaker 2: Was it Taylor Swift? And she.
- 18:40Speaker 4: Like, they're like, oh, whatever. Throw this thing off the
- 18:44Speaker 4: balcony or whatever.
- 18:45Speaker 5: And they blew it up. That was the beginning of
- 18:46Speaker 5: the season I worked on.
- 18:47Speaker 2: And then they acted like it blew up a boat
- 18:50Speaker 2: or something. And then she thought she hurt someone. Yes.
- 18:54Speaker 2: That is, like, awful.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Yes.
- 18:56Speaker 5: They were so proud of that. And I was just like,
- 18:59Speaker 5: who is this for? What's fun about this?
- 19:02Speaker 2: I remember there was one with, like, Ellen Pimpale.
- 19:04Speaker 3: Yes.
- 19:04Speaker 2: And she has.
- 19:06Speaker 4: I think she's still with him, but her husband is
- 19:08Speaker 4: this good looking black guy. And it was that like
- 19:12Speaker 4: the waitress was overly flirting with him and like to
- 19:15Speaker 4: get her reaction. Now that I think is kind of cute.
- 19:19Speaker 4: Like that's not terrible.
- 19:20Speaker 5: My favorite thing about our season was every actress in
- 19:25Speaker 5: Los Angeles was only going to Cafe Gratitude at that
- 19:27Speaker 5: point in time. And Cafe Gratitude was like, you only
- 19:30Speaker 5: get two pranks here. So we had to figure out
- 19:34Speaker 5: other places to go because we could not plausibly get
- 19:37Speaker 5: young actresses to go to a dinner anywhere but Cafe Gratitude.
- 19:42Speaker 5: Which is like this terrible vegan run by a cult place,
- 19:46Speaker 5: which is honestly kind of good.
- 19:47Speaker 2: Does it still exist? Yes, on Larchmont. Oh, amazing.
- 19:52Speaker 5: You've never been?
- 19:53Speaker 6: No.
- 19:54Speaker 5: It's the place where you famously have to order by
- 19:57Speaker 5: saying like, I am peaceful or I am generous.
- 20:00Speaker 2: Oh really? Oh my God. That is ridiculous.
- 20:02Speaker 6: Yes.
- 20:03Speaker 2: That is, that's very funny. Um, okay. Cardi B. Did
- 20:07Speaker 2: you hear what happened to her?
- 20:08Speaker 4: No.
- 20:08Speaker 1: No.
- 20:09Speaker 4: So her baby daddy, so she has the three kids
- 20:12Speaker 4: with Offset, who I think she was married to. Then
- 20:16Speaker 4: she fell in love with this guy, Stefan Diggs, who
- 20:20Speaker 4: plays for the Patriots and had his baby. And she
- 20:24Speaker 4: planned a million dollar party, like after party or whatever.
- 20:29Speaker 4: But then she realized that his other baby mama, who
- 20:33Speaker 4: has a baby around the same age as hers, was insane.
- 20:37Speaker 4: In the front row with the baby, with the baby
- 20:39Speaker 4: wearing the jersey. And so then she got all pissed,
- 20:44Speaker 4: didn't go to the party. He didn't go to the party.
- 20:47Speaker 4: She left the game and stopped following him.
- 20:49Speaker 5: I mean, you have to have some sense of generosity
- 20:52Speaker 5: and responsibility when there's another child involved, you know?
- 20:56Speaker 2: I mean, but when they're the same age, it makes
- 20:59Speaker 2: it hard. No, 100%. I mean, talk to all the
- 21:02Speaker 2: Nick Cannon people. Yes. Yes.
- 21:03Speaker 5: Like, I get that it feels weird, and I get
- 21:05Speaker 5: that you want a sense of being proprietary, but also, like,
- 21:09Speaker 5: you're very famous, and your kid is going to get
- 21:11Speaker 5: to be the very famous one for all of time.
- 21:13Speaker 5: And that kid gets to watch his dad, like, even
- 21:16Speaker 5: though he's young enough to not be sentient.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah, that's a good point. I mean, yeah, it's a
- 21:20Speaker 2: little kid.
- 21:20Speaker 5: He needs to have the memories of, like— No.
- 21:22Speaker 2: I mean, she was just being a jealous girl.
- 21:25Speaker 4: Yes.
- 21:25Speaker 2: I mean, that's hands down. It has to do with
- 21:26Speaker 2: the woman. It has to do with the— I get that.
- 21:28Speaker 5: And the thing is, is like, I want Cardi B
- 21:30Speaker 5: to be too much. I want her to have fights
- 21:33Speaker 5: and everything like that. But I also think you need
- 21:36Speaker 5: to separate like business and family to some extent, you know?
- 21:41Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 21:43Speaker 3: They think you're done for the day, but they don't
- 21:45Speaker 3: know about the drawer. The drawer. Just the one square
- 21:51Speaker 3: before bed. Or two, you know.
- 21:55Speaker 2: Nobody's watching.
- 21:57Speaker 3: You deserve a treat. With eight flavours to choose from,
- 22:03Speaker 3: you can choose the flavour you favour with Cadbury Dairy Milk.
- 22:13Speaker 6: I'm Darman, and this is What Happens Next. Each week
- 22:16Speaker 6: on the show, I sit down with extraordinary people who
- 22:19Speaker 6: have faced tremendous setbacks, and yet somehow have found a
- 22:23Speaker 6: way to turn them into their greatest strengths.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Life is one long lesson of chaos. I'm heading to
- 22:30Speaker 2: the Emmys, and I have police complaints filed against me.
- 22:32Speaker 5: When your free will was about to be taken from you,
- 22:35Speaker 5: what would you do if it was given back?
- 22:37Speaker 6: Where did that need come from, where you thought that
- 22:40Speaker 6: you had to succeed in order to feel loved?
- 22:42Speaker 5: He said, I have a work dad.
- 22:43Speaker 6: I need a home dad.
- 22:45Speaker 2: What happens next?
- 22:46Speaker 5: When I came in, he started crying.
- 22:47Speaker 6: Everybody in life encounters hardships. What defines them is not
- 22:52Speaker 6: those hard moments that they go through. It's about what
- 22:54Speaker 6: happens next.
- 22:56Speaker 2: I decided to risk it all. I realized how valuable
- 22:58Speaker 2: every day was. You're worth the work.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Listen, Dar, I'm not going to pull punches.
- 23:02Speaker 2: You can use your voice even if it's shaped.
- 23:04Speaker 6: The stories are different, but the impact is the same.
- 23:08Speaker 6: Only one question matters. What happens next?
- 23:18Speaker 4: Okay, so talk shows are not doing well. They canceled
- 23:24Speaker 4: Sherri Shepherd. Kelly Clarkson, whose show is very successful, she's
- 23:30Speaker 4: choosing to end it.
- 23:31Speaker 6: Yes.
- 23:31Speaker 4: Of course, Wendy Williams, you know, that has been around
- 23:34Speaker 4: a long time. What's your thought about the ending talk
- 23:37Speaker 4: show era?
- 23:38Speaker 5: I don't understand how they can't continue to make daytime
- 23:41Speaker 5: talk shows profitable. Like, it does just seem to be, like,
- 23:44Speaker 5: an area where you do still have people watching. Like,
- 23:48Speaker 5: it kills me because I love talk shows. Like, we
- 23:51Speaker 5: worked on a talk show together. Like, they're a part
- 23:55Speaker 5: of TV that I really like and enjoy. But also,
- 23:57Speaker 5: I'm interested to hear your thoughts because... This is what
- 23:59Speaker 5: is taking their place. Like basically.
- 24:01Speaker 6: Yeah, right.
- 24:02Speaker 4: That's so they were saying this article or what article
- 24:04Speaker 4: I read was like, Oh, people don't have the, um,
- 24:08Speaker 4: the attention span to sit through an hour long talk show,
- 24:11Speaker 4: but then why are.
- 24:12Speaker 2: There three hours of Joe Rogan and two hours?
- 24:15Speaker 4: And this is an hour and 20 minute, uh, on
- 24:18Speaker 4: YouTube and, and everything else kind of talk. I mean,
- 24:22Speaker 4: I just feel that the audience that was the talk
- 24:25Speaker 4: show audience, uh, They grew up, and the new person
- 24:29Speaker 4: that would maybe have watched it now, like a 30-year-old
- 24:33Speaker 4: that's home and it's the daytime, it's just not their jam.
- 24:38Speaker 5: It's so weird because I think those morning shows particularly
- 24:41Speaker 5: are like a check-in with the world. The view into
- 24:45Speaker 5: a lesser extent, Kelly and Mark, I would think that
- 24:50Speaker 5: people would still want that, but maybe podcasts are better
- 24:52Speaker 5: at it. And also, podcasts are less filtered. you know,
- 24:57Speaker 5: you don't have a producer who is like overly managing
- 25:00Speaker 5: what the questions are in the same way. Though, I mean,
- 25:03Speaker 5: with something like Amy Poehler's show, it does feel like,
- 25:07Speaker 5: you know, they've probably agreed about what's talked about or
- 25:11Speaker 5: what's not talked about. But also it's just like you
- 25:14Speaker 5: can have like a tighter turnaround and you can talk
- 25:17Speaker 5: about realer issues.
- 25:18Speaker 4: I mean, I just think that the reason podcasts do
- 25:23Speaker 4: really well is you find your few people that you
- 25:27Speaker 4: love and vibe with and maybe, and most likely they
- 25:32Speaker 4: think like you, like they're like, Oh, you're my best
- 25:35Speaker 4: friend in my head, whatever. And people really actually want
- 25:38Speaker 4: to listen and spend their time with people that they
- 25:41Speaker 4: vibe with. And so the talk show thing, whether it
- 25:44Speaker 4: was the talk or the view or whatever, it's like, Oh,
- 25:46Speaker 4: let's have five, three.
- 25:48Speaker 2: Different views and let's have this.
- 25:50Speaker 4: And I don't really think people want to hear a
- 25:53Speaker 4: view that doesn't match their own.
- 25:54Speaker 2: I mean, that's a problem. Yeah, it is a problem.
- 25:57Speaker 4: Because people are always like, I need, you know, if
- 25:59Speaker 4: they say they want their favorite celebrity to speak on
- 26:02Speaker 4: something and someone said, I don't think you.
- 26:05Speaker 2: Want my opinion.
- 26:06Speaker 4: You want my, you want to know my opinion so
- 26:10Speaker 4: that you can either know that I think like you
- 26:13Speaker 4: and if I don't. then you have a reason to
- 26:16Speaker 4: like be angry, but you really don't want to know
- 26:18Speaker 4: my opinion.
- 26:19Speaker 2: You know, it was something like that.
- 26:21Speaker 4: And I was like, yeah, I think that's, you know,
- 26:24Speaker 4: why you can find your, your niche, you know, find
- 26:27Speaker 4: your person.
- 26:28Speaker 2: But, I don't know. I mean, I think just it's
- 26:31Speaker 2: about life.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Like I joked with Chris the other day that like
- 26:33Speaker 4: we kind of we like going to hotels because it's
- 26:35Speaker 4: like old fashioned TV.
- 26:36Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 26:37Speaker 2: That's what I do watch this stuff. Right.
- 26:39Speaker 5: No, I mean, like my favorite thing about going on
- 26:42Speaker 5: the road is watching like old school TV.
- 26:44Speaker 2: Yes.
- 26:45Speaker 5: And just like get like watching a bunch of guys
- 26:48Speaker 5: grocery games or something like that.
- 26:50Speaker 2: It's like comforting or like.
- 26:52Speaker 5: Yes.
- 26:52Speaker 4: Or the way the room's set up so I can
- 26:54Speaker 4: do my hair and makeup while I'm watching some morning show.
- 26:58Speaker 5: I used to host games for Kelly Clarkson on a
- 27:01Speaker 5: pretty regular basis, and it was such a fun vibe.
- 27:04Speaker 2: Oh, for the talk show?
- 27:05Speaker 5: Yes, and getting to watch celebrities play outside of their
- 27:10Speaker 5: comfort zone. And I also think we're destroying a promotional
- 27:13Speaker 5: infrastructure for TV and film that is bad. That used
- 27:17Speaker 5: to be where you learned, oh, Jack Black has a
- 27:18Speaker 5: new movie. I want to see that movie.
- 27:21Speaker 2: Yes, you're right.
- 27:22Speaker 5: I don't know that podcasts are as effective.
- 27:25Speaker 2: They're definitely not. Yeah.
- 27:26Speaker 4: It's like I saw, there is this, in my little
- 27:30Speaker 4: like shopping cute area where there's a movie theater, there's
- 27:33Speaker 4: like this poster around a light pole and the movie
- 27:36Speaker 4: came out December 12th and it's, who's the girl in
- 27:41Speaker 4: Devil Wears Prada?
- 27:42Speaker 5: Anne Hathaway?
- 27:44Speaker 4: Yeah, it's Anne Hathaway and it's called like Emma Jones
- 27:48Speaker 4: or something.
- 27:48Speaker 2: It came out December 12th.
- 27:49Speaker 4: Yes. Has anyone even heard of that movie? I'm like,
- 27:54Speaker 4: how did this come and go? This is a major
- 27:56Speaker 4: movie star and it's a.
- 27:57Speaker 2: New York movie.
- 27:58Speaker 4: The poster is her trying to put on her heel.
- 28:01Speaker 4: I mean, it's a classic like dry bar movie, but.
- 28:03Speaker 5: Is that Anne Hathaway?
- 28:05Speaker 2: Yes.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Like, I think that is the James L. Brooks movie
- 28:08Speaker 5: that starred someone who I think looks like Anne Hathaway.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Well, whatever. Nobody watched this thing.
- 28:14Speaker 5: It was star studded and that movie was famously bad.
- 28:17Speaker 5: So it was the guy who made like Terms of
- 28:19Speaker 5: Endearment and stuff, but now he's like 80. And he's
- 28:22Speaker 5: been like a Simpsons billionaire for like 30 years now.
- 28:27Speaker 5: And apparently like it was just untethered from reality.
- 28:31Speaker 2: Okay. Well, yeah. I mean, yeah, you wouldn't know about
- 28:34Speaker 2: these things. That's what I'm saying. Like, you're right.
- 28:36Speaker 4: It would normally be the same person come around.
- 28:38Speaker 2: You wear the outfit. It's seven minutes.
- 28:40Speaker 4: Now it just seems like a seven minute interview just
- 28:43Speaker 4: seems like, So dumb and short.
- 28:45Speaker 5: And the thing is, there's nothing real that happens. There's
- 28:48Speaker 5: nothing real that happens. I just went and Mark Shaman,
- 28:52Speaker 5: the guy who wrote music for, like, when Harry Met Sally,
- 28:56Speaker 5: and he wrote Hairspray, but he released a book, and
- 28:59Speaker 5: he talked to Bette Midler, and they were talking about
- 29:02Speaker 5: when Bette did the last Johnny Carson, and he, like,
- 29:06Speaker 5: arranged the music for her and played with her.
- 29:08Speaker 2: But just, like.
- 29:09Speaker 5: You had those iconic moments from talk shows where something
- 29:12Speaker 5: really real and exciting happened. And like publicists have made
- 29:17Speaker 5: that impossible for the last 20 years. Like talk shows
- 29:20Speaker 5: have been boring. When people say something interesting, they say
- 29:23Speaker 5: it on a podcast.
- 29:24Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, I don't know.
- 29:26Speaker 4: I feel bad for Sherri Shepherd, except that she never
- 29:29Speaker 4: had me on, so I don't feel that bad. Neither
- 29:31Speaker 4: did Kelly Clarkson. But Kelly Clarkson doesn't need the show
- 29:35Speaker 4: and she's moving on. It started in LA and then
- 29:37Speaker 4: it moved to New York.
- 29:38Speaker 5: Yes I think this is like Kelly Clarkson figured out
- 29:41Speaker 5: how to make that show about the stuff that she
- 29:43Speaker 5: is good at and loves to do in a way
- 29:45Speaker 5: that was like every day she would cover somebody else's
- 29:49Speaker 5: song and sing it better than they ever have and
- 29:52Speaker 5: like it was cool to have somebody who wasn't a
- 29:54Speaker 5: comic and made it about like her skill set and
- 29:59Speaker 5: her honesty and I think that the type of television
- 30:02Speaker 5: that requires the greatest degree of sincerity is cooking show.
- 30:06Speaker 5: But I think daytime talk show is very close. But
- 30:08Speaker 5: like cooking show, every time I see Valerie Bertinelli, I'm like,
- 30:12Speaker 5: I believe it. And when I see Faith Hill or
- 30:15Speaker 5: whoever it was who had a cooking... There was one
- 30:17Speaker 5: of those country ladies at a cooking show, and I'm like,
- 30:19Speaker 5: I'm not buying it. But fucking Valerie Bertinelli, I'm like,
- 30:22Speaker 5: I believe it.
- 30:22Speaker 4: But, you know, now I wonder, like, have we talked about,
- 30:25Speaker 4: you know, missing old school TV and people just, like,
- 30:27Speaker 4: missing the simpler stuff and people saying, like, I don't
- 30:31Speaker 4: know what's real on my phone anymore and, like, I
- 30:33Speaker 4: need to put down my phone. I wonder if there
- 30:35Speaker 4: could be, like... a resurgence of it I think so
- 30:38Speaker 4: because like of just a simple let me just watch
- 30:40Speaker 4: you make a dish I like I didn't work for
- 30:43Speaker 4: Meghan Markle but whatever that's.
- 30:45Speaker 5: Because it wasn't sincere like you knew that that wasn't
- 30:48Speaker 5: her real house like she was being like too put
- 30:52Speaker 5: together and too prim about how her life you know
- 30:55Speaker 5: she was taking pretzels out of one plastic bag and
- 30:57Speaker 5: putting it into a different plastic bag um but like
- 30:59Speaker 5: I watch the Graham Norton show so much because he
- 31:03Speaker 5: does he like he's fun and alive. And he puts
- 31:06Speaker 5: celebrities who shouldn't be on a couch together on a
- 31:09Speaker 5: couch together and they interact and they have fun. And
- 31:12Speaker 5: it's a good time.
- 31:13Speaker 4: I just was thinking about the rest in peace, the
- 31:15Speaker 4: Meghan Markle show with the, with those pretzel that are
- 31:20Speaker 4: filled with peanut butter thing.
- 31:21Speaker 2: That whole idea is, was just so funny.
- 31:24Speaker 4: Cause it was like, she had this guy come where
- 31:26Speaker 4: she had to act like they were best friends or
- 31:27Speaker 4: he was her hairdresser. And then she's like, And I
- 31:32Speaker 4: put a whole basket together for his room.
- 31:35Speaker 2: He's spending the night. And it's just like such, it
- 31:38Speaker 2: was just such, it's such a weird thing.
- 31:40Speaker 4: And then it's like, well, no, we know he's not
- 31:41Speaker 4: spending the night because this is like not your house.
- 31:44Speaker 4: And then we're supposed to pretend that he's just going
- 31:45Speaker 4: to sit in the room like a fucking mouse and
- 31:48Speaker 4: eat these pretzels.
- 31:50Speaker 5: Three separate times she cut up raw fruit or vegetables
- 31:53Speaker 5: and put it on a platter. And that was what
- 31:55Speaker 5: she did. Like three separate times she made just a
- 31:58Speaker 5: crudité plate And that was what she did. And I
- 32:00Speaker 5: know that they're trying to be like, oh, I'm not
- 32:02Speaker 5: trying to be too fancy. I'm just being approachable. One
- 32:05Speaker 5: pot pasta. But it's like, you're not being approachable. Your
- 32:08Speaker 5: whole point is that you're a duchess and you have
- 32:12Speaker 5: your own bees. And I don't for a minute believe
- 32:13Speaker 5: that she has her own bees. Fucking Martha has her
- 32:16Speaker 5: own bees. Like Martha, you know, like she has her
- 32:20Speaker 5: own bees. And you know, one of my favorite moments
- 32:23Speaker 5: from all of television is It was Cooking with Julia Child.
- 32:27Speaker 5: It was a series on PBS. And Martha came on
- 32:30Speaker 5: to make a wedding cake. And Julia Child said to her,
- 32:33Speaker 5: that seems like a lot of work. Like, Julia Child
- 32:37Speaker 5: was like, that just seems like too much work.
- 32:41Speaker 2: I agree that it was all these extra steps. You
- 32:43Speaker 2: were like, what?
- 32:44Speaker 4: Like right before Martha got there, it was like, there
- 32:47Speaker 4: was the era of, oh my God, you could.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Buy a cake box.
- 32:50Speaker 4: You can, you know, there's all the, there was all
- 32:52Speaker 4: the helper stuff. Like my mom still made meals, but
- 32:55Speaker 4: there was like, there literally was hamburger helper.
- 32:57Speaker 2: There was this, there was that. And then we got
- 32:59Speaker 2: to like doing it yourself. And now people are making
- 33:02Speaker 2: their own bread.
- 33:03Speaker 5: Yes.
- 33:04Speaker 4: When the saying in life was, you know, it's nothing's
- 33:07Speaker 4: as great as sliced bread. There's a reason someone said
- 33:09Speaker 4: that because they didn't want to make bread anymore. And
- 33:11Speaker 4: now these women are like flexing. They're like, my man
- 33:15Speaker 4: knows how to make a good living so that I
- 33:17Speaker 4: can stay home and make bread.
- 33:18Speaker 2: I'm like, what are you doing? I mean, go to
- 33:20Speaker 2: the store and buy a loaf of bread.
- 33:22Speaker 5: Have you seen the woman who's like, my children have
- 33:24Speaker 5: never had pop tarts and I wanted them to try
- 33:26Speaker 5: pop tarts or like Doritos or whatever. And then she
- 33:28Speaker 5: makes Doritos from scratch.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Yes.
- 33:30Speaker 5: But like with, you know, like, emmer wheat and maple sugar.
- 33:36Speaker 5: And it's like, well, that's, that's not going to be Cheerios.
- 33:40Speaker 4: I mean, I don't even think anybody in real life
- 33:42Speaker 4: is doing that. That doesn't have a huge internet following.
- 33:46Speaker 5: I mean, that's the whole point.
- 33:47Speaker 2: No one's really doing that. I'm doing it for videos.
- 33:49Speaker 5: You're being ridiculous and you're performing.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 33:52Speaker 5: There, there is this sort of like, oh, I just
- 33:55Speaker 5: have the time to, you know, make my own ricotta
- 33:59Speaker 5: from scratch. So that's what I'm doing out here on
- 34:01Speaker 5: the farm. And it's like, been to a farm. That's
- 34:03Speaker 5: not how farms work.
- 34:04Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 34:05Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know. It's, it's, it's crazy.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:09Speaker 4: Well, we'll see what happens with them. Sherry, I'm sure
- 34:12Speaker 4: Sherry Shefford will have a podcast, you know, in, in
- 34:15Speaker 4: six months.
- 34:15Speaker 5: Yes.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Okay. A couple little things coming up.
- 34:18Speaker 5: Okay.
- 34:19Speaker 4: Well now, thank goodness. Some major mainstream media is starting
- 34:25Speaker 4: to cover what is in The Department of Justice files.
- 34:30Speaker 2: They're going to drop more.
- 34:31Speaker 4: They were redacting names and they put six back.
- 34:36Speaker 2: And one was the Wexler guy. I'm like, tell us something.
- 34:38Speaker 2: We did it now.
- 34:39Speaker 1: Okay.
- 34:40Speaker 5: Were you a little sad that your name wasn't there anywhere?
- 34:43Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 34:44Speaker 5: I was a little bit like, I just want to
- 34:46Speaker 5: feel famous enough that like I'm in some sort of
- 34:49Speaker 5: thing that shows up. Les Wexner is like the least
- 34:53Speaker 5: interesting thing.
- 34:54Speaker 2: Wexner, that's it.
- 34:55Speaker 5: It's like we already knew that he was heavily connected
- 34:58Speaker 5: with this guy. And also, Les Wexner does not want
- 35:00Speaker 5: to have sex with women. Les Wexner has a wife.
- 35:03Speaker 2: That's the guy who owns the Victoria's Secret and everything?
- 35:06Speaker 5: Yes. And the rumor is that a young Jeffrey Epstein
- 35:10Speaker 5: Took care of him and then stole money from him.
- 35:13Speaker 6: Right.
- 35:13Speaker 5: And then Les Wexner had to be OK with it
- 35:15Speaker 5: or else he Jeffrey Epstein would reveal that they had
- 35:18Speaker 5: had sex with each other. And I think that that's amazing. Right.
- 35:23Speaker 4: And then the things that are coming in, the things
- 35:26Speaker 4: that are coming out, unfortunately, are just like really, really gross.
- 35:30Speaker 5: And I don't I want to say I don't think
- 35:32Speaker 5: it's amazing in a good way. I'm just stunned. by
- 35:35Speaker 5: the level of operation that Jeffrey Epstein had from, like,
- 35:40Speaker 5: from jump. Like, that he was always swindling. But yes, it, like,
- 35:44Speaker 5: it is... truly gross and it's very funny seeing everybody
- 35:49Speaker 5: being like oh well yes i just had some dinners
- 35:52Speaker 5: with him i wasn't one of the ones who was
- 35:54Speaker 5: going for hand jobs to the one that we all
- 35:56Speaker 5: knew was the desert island hand job guy.
- 35:59Speaker 4: Well of course we knew andrew prince andrew was involved
- 36:03Speaker 4: now there's new emails in which he and sarah are
- 36:07Speaker 4: writing jeffrey epstein and they're talking about their life and
- 36:14Speaker 4: everything with him. And they are, at one point they
- 36:16Speaker 4: sent photos of the daughters, not naked or anything, but
- 36:20Speaker 4: just here are the girls.
- 36:22Speaker 2: You asked to see them here. They are.
- 36:24Speaker 4: And I mean, maybe their argument, maybe a Sarah Ferguson
- 36:28Speaker 4: argument was like, I never knew that he was doing
- 36:31Speaker 4: anything nefarious.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I just thought he was a rich friend.
- 36:33Speaker 4: But in hers, she was even like, I know there
- 36:36Speaker 4: was one that she's like, I know that, you know,
- 36:38Speaker 4: the Duke and I are no longer together, but I
- 36:40Speaker 4: feel like you're ignoring me.
- 36:41Speaker 2: Like, I love you. We're friends.
- 36:42Speaker 5: Did you see the one where she was just like,
- 36:44Speaker 5: I need 20,000 pounds?
- 36:46Speaker 2: No, what's that one?
- 36:47Speaker 5: She was like, I'm behind on rent. I need 20,000 pounds.
- 36:50Speaker 5: If there's anything you could do about it or something
- 36:53Speaker 5: along those lines.
- 36:54Speaker 2: So that's why she's like being nice. And did he
- 36:56Speaker 2: give it to her? I don't know.
- 36:57Speaker 5: But it is this thing of like, is... Is that
- 37:00Speaker 5: how you just are expected or have to live when
- 37:04Speaker 5: you're like a member of the royal family and you
- 37:06Speaker 5: have all of these famous friends or these very wealthy friends,
- 37:09Speaker 5: but you yourself do not have a great source of income? I,
- 37:12Speaker 5: of course, learned most of what I know about the
- 37:14Speaker 5: sources of income from the like 1989 TV movie about
- 37:19Speaker 5: Sarah Ferguson.
- 37:20Speaker 4: Sarah Ferguson was married to Prince Andrew. They got divorced
- 37:25Speaker 4: after they got divorced. Everyone, she became super popular because
- 37:30Speaker 4: she was seen as the heavier princess.
- 37:34Speaker 2: And she wasn't even heavy.
- 37:35Speaker 5: Right.
- 37:36Speaker 2: But then she lost some weight.
- 37:38Speaker 6: Yes.
- 37:39Speaker 5: She got a Weight Watchers deal, I think.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Yes. And everyone was like, she's so relatable. So then
- 37:42Speaker 2: she comes to America.
- 37:44Speaker 4: I was in testing rooms to do talk shows with her,
- 37:48Speaker 4: to be like regulars on talk shows.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Yes.
- 37:51Speaker 4: Meanwhile, she's also begging Jeffrey Epstein for $ 20, 000 and sending
- 37:55Speaker 4: photos of her daughter so that, like, he'll—I don't know.
- 37:59Speaker 2: And then the.
- 38:00Speaker 4: Amount of people that— there' s a couple other really weird ones
- 38:03Speaker 4: where it was this guy, Howard Lutnick, who is— what is
- 38:10Speaker 4: his role?
- 38:11Speaker 5: Secretary of Commerce.
- 38:12Speaker 2: Right now.
- 38:13Speaker 4: And he said, under oath, I never talked to him
- 38:17Speaker 4: after he was convicted of— of the first round of crimes.
- 38:22Speaker 4: But then they found in the emails that they were
- 38:25Speaker 4: writing back and forth and he's like, hey, let's hang
- 38:28Speaker 4: out on Sunday. Tell me where the captain's supposed to
- 38:31Speaker 4: park the yacht on Evershed Island. I'm with another couple
- 38:35Speaker 4: and he names their name. And he said, we each
- 38:37Speaker 4: have four children with us. And then he gives all
- 38:40Speaker 4: the ages. And so I immediately start Googling, did they
- 38:46Speaker 4: have kids those ages? And from what I have discovered,
- 38:50Speaker 4: they did. So it was their kids. Now, does that
- 38:53Speaker 4: make it worse or were they being like normal people?
- 38:57Speaker 4: That when they go to a single man's place, they're like, hey,
- 38:59Speaker 4: we have our kids with us.
- 39:00Speaker 2: Is that okay?
- 39:01Speaker 4: These are their ages. Like, are you okay with this
- 39:03Speaker 4: many kids? Or should we leave them on the yacht?
- 39:07Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 39:08Speaker 5: Well, it's just hard to understand how people understood this guy.
- 39:11Speaker 5: He's just, like, how much of a reputation... Like, because
- 39:15Speaker 5: his reputation was as, like, the party dude, right?
- 39:19Speaker 2: Right. But it, like.
- 39:21Speaker 5: But also just like, oh, when you're taking your yacht
- 39:23Speaker 5: to St. Bart's, this is one of the places that
- 39:25Speaker 5: you stop off at. You go and you say hi
- 39:28Speaker 5: to Jeffrey. Like, I don't understand like what, what interest
- 39:34Speaker 5: he had for them if they weren't interested.
- 39:36Speaker 2: Right.
- 39:37Speaker 5: In that kind of thing. And it is such an
- 39:39Speaker 5: interesting sort of like overlap between the era when no
- 39:43Speaker 5: one could find out about stuff like this and the
- 39:45Speaker 5: era of being able to like effortlessly search those files,
- 39:49Speaker 5: you know?
- 39:50Speaker 2: It's overwhelming.
- 39:52Speaker 4: I've just seen so many things and all the, the
- 39:57Speaker 4: stories of, you know, did like when people talked about
- 40:02Speaker 4: like Illuminati or what people do to stay famous and like,
- 40:07Speaker 4: you're like.
- 40:07Speaker 2: I don't know, did they really do this weird shit?
- 40:09Speaker 4: Were they under the impression that if they Did these
- 40:12Speaker 4: sick demonic things that it keeps them at the top
- 40:16Speaker 4: of the totem pole of fame and wealth forever?
- 40:21Speaker 5: Like, like, I don't I don't know how many sick
- 40:23Speaker 5: demonic things were like, I mean, I think rape is
- 40:28Speaker 5: sick and demonic. But like, I just assumed that it
- 40:31Speaker 5: was like, no.
- 40:32Speaker 2: There's stuff in there. That's like what you think.
- 40:34Speaker 5: Oh, really?
- 40:35Speaker 2: Eating babies, what it tastes like on the yachts. Yes. Yes.
- 40:40Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 40:41Speaker 4: And so it's like, no, that's what I don't think
- 40:43Speaker 4: people are realizing. And I didn't realize it when I
- 40:45Speaker 4: talked about it last week.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Like it's so weird.
- 40:49Speaker 4: It's so awful and so weird. And, you know, then
- 40:53Speaker 4: there's the ones that are just like, like there was
- 40:57Speaker 4: one that, um, that actually my Brandon found and this
- 41:02Speaker 4: guy is like, I'm a comedian telling you who this
- 41:04Speaker 4: comic is.
- 41:05Speaker 2: So you read it.
- 41:07Speaker 4: And of course the, in it, the guy, the comedian says,
- 41:10Speaker 4: it was so great that you came to the show.
- 41:13Speaker 2: Thanks for the great dinner. Really enjoyed the conversation.
- 41:16Speaker 4: If you're interested, I'll be at this comedy club on
- 41:20Speaker 4: this weekend at this time in a month or whatever.
- 41:23Speaker 4: So someone was able to look at the date of
- 41:25Speaker 4: when this was written, go a month ahead, look at
- 41:28Speaker 4: the comedy club. Cause he says the city in the
- 41:30Speaker 4: club and they're like, we know who's performing there.
- 41:33Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 41:34Speaker 2: And in this particular one.
- 41:35Speaker 4: That's all over TikTok, it was, I don't care, it
- 41:39Speaker 4: was Bobby Slayton who was performing at that weekend.
- 41:42Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 41:43Speaker 4: If you read it, it doesn't say, I can't wait
- 41:45Speaker 4: to go on the island with you. It doesn't say
- 41:46Speaker 4: anything like that.
- 41:47Speaker 5: Right.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Which means it could have been, oh my God, he
- 41:50Speaker 2: was such an interesting guy.
- 41:51Speaker 4: He knows all these famous people. He's best friends with
- 41:54Speaker 4: Woody Allen. Maybe he said, I want to put you
- 41:55Speaker 4: in a Woody Allen movie.
- 41:57Speaker 2: Who the fuck knows?
- 41:57Speaker 5: Maybe there was a tier level to Jeffrey Epstein friendships.
- 42:01Speaker 5: Like at Platinum Plus, you get to eat babies. At
- 42:03Speaker 5: just Platinum, you get to sex traffic women. But then
- 42:07Speaker 5: there was just sort of like.
- 42:09Speaker 2: You could have a dinner and maybe get thrown a bone.
- 42:11Speaker 5: Yes, the ad-supported tier is you get to hang out
- 42:14Speaker 5: with Woody Allen and Sunyi.
- 42:15Speaker 2: Right.
- 42:16Speaker 4: I mean, I don't... It's a lot. And then Ghislaine said,
- 42:21Speaker 4: I'm taking the fifth. Like, I'm not going to say
- 42:25Speaker 4: anything until I know that I have a better deal.
- 42:27Speaker 5: Like... That's insane. That woman is terrible. But also.
- 42:33Speaker 4: But I mean, can you blame her? She's the only
- 42:34Speaker 4: one behind bars. She's like, I better play these cards right.
- 42:38Speaker 4: I don't want to sit in this prison for the
- 42:40Speaker 4: rest of my life. I either want to get sent
- 42:42Speaker 4: to a nicer one or I want to get out.
- 42:44Speaker 4: So I think she's trying to figure out how to
- 42:46Speaker 4: do that.
- 42:47Speaker 5: I just don't understand how all these billionaires couldn't figure
- 42:49Speaker 5: out how to get handjobs with their billions of dollars.
- 42:52Speaker 5: And also... Why not get handjobs from people who know
- 42:55Speaker 5: what they're doing?
- 42:56Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 42:57Speaker 4: I think that that's why I'm like, I try to
- 42:59Speaker 4: think about what is in their brains, you know?
- 43:02Speaker 5: I do think it is when you're like a level
- 43:03Speaker 5: of rich where you can have anything.
- 43:07Speaker 2: You can have anything. That's exactly it.
- 43:09Speaker 5: People want the thing that they can't have.
- 43:10Speaker 4: And then it goes back, if you really want to
- 43:12Speaker 4: go down rabbit holes, to like, these five families that
- 43:16Speaker 4: are truly like running the world and the banking and
- 43:19Speaker 4: all of that. And then you really went from, you know,
- 43:23Speaker 4: Getty's Rothschilds, whatever. And you're like, is this, is this
- 43:27Speaker 4: really true today? Like what is the connection?
- 43:30Speaker 2: But then you want, it.
- 43:31Speaker 5: Also ends up on the doorstep of like deep antisemitism,
- 43:35Speaker 5: you know?
- 43:36Speaker 2: Right. And then there's that.
- 43:38Speaker 4: It's so much. So there's, here's a story from the
- 43:42Speaker 4: California post. West Hollywood lawyer turned OnlyFans creator arrested in
- 43:47Speaker 4: Miami gay cruise drug bust. I mean, that is a
- 43:50Speaker 4: lot to take in. And then the description is a
- 43:53Speaker 4: redheaded L.A. lawyer turned OnlyFans star. Like they even add
- 43:57Speaker 4: add another layer to this story.
- 44:00Speaker 2: Do you know him?
- 44:02Speaker 5: I don't. What's his name?
- 44:04Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 44:04Speaker 5: The thing is, is that like essentially.
- 44:06Speaker 6: Oh, wait.
- 44:08Speaker 5: No, I do know him.
- 44:09Speaker 2: Do you really?
- 44:09Speaker 5: Yes, absolutely.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Because he's a lawyer or because he is a redhead?
- 44:14Speaker 5: No, from Provincetown. Like, I met him there.
- 44:18Speaker 2: Did you know when you met him? Did you know
- 44:20Speaker 2: him as a lawyer or did you know him as
- 44:21Speaker 2: an OnlyFans talent?
- 44:23Speaker 5: I knew him as just, like, a naked gay guy.
- 44:25Speaker 5: But the thing is, like, one of my friends jokes that, like,
- 44:27Speaker 5: doing a drug raid as people were getting onto a
- 44:29Speaker 5: gay cruise is essentially entrapment. Like, that's what people are doing.
- 44:33Speaker 6: Like.
- 44:34Speaker 5: This guy can't have his good time while drinking alcohol.
- 44:38Speaker 5: How would he maintain those abs? He has to have
- 44:40Speaker 5: GHP and a little bit of meth there. But, like,
- 44:46Speaker 5: it's not... Yeah, like those cruises, I've never been on one.
- 44:51Speaker 5: I do think I would possibly kill myself if I
- 44:55Speaker 5: was on one. And I also see how.
- 44:57Speaker 2: So have you been asked to perform or anything?
- 44:59Speaker 5: No, they've never asked me to perform or anything. And
- 45:01Speaker 5: I do think, like, it's a circuit party on a boat.
- 45:05Speaker 5: So everyone is there, like, you know, it's those worked
- 45:09Speaker 5: out gay guys.
- 45:10Speaker 4: Julie does a lot of the cruises and performs. And
- 45:13Speaker 4: she says, and she went, when she was, She was snorkeling.
- 45:19Speaker 4: I'm like, she said she was snorkeling.
- 45:21Speaker 2: Okay. And that is where.
- 45:24Speaker 4: She saw guys like blowing each other in the water
- 45:29Speaker 4: while she was looking for fishes.
- 45:30Speaker 2: Like that's how rampant it was.
- 45:32Speaker 6: No.
- 45:32Speaker 5: Well, a couple of years ago, there was a thing
- 45:35Speaker 5: where two guys were having sex in their room and
- 45:38Speaker 5: somebody on land in Haiti saw it and they called
- 45:41Speaker 5: the authorities because gay sex is still illegal in Haiti
- 45:43Speaker 5: and So they're like the notion of being gay and
- 45:47Speaker 5: then going around the Caribbean comes with its own dangers
- 45:50Speaker 5: from a number of angles. But like, yeah, I mean,
- 45:53Speaker 5: gay guys love having sex in public. Like it's just,
- 45:57Speaker 5: you know, a thing. And like these like these cruises
- 46:01Speaker 5: are just, you know, it's it's just people doing drugs.
- 46:05Speaker 5: It's people having sex and doing drugs with.
- 46:07Speaker 2: These gay cruises. Is there like levels like.
- 46:10Speaker 4: There's the one that's like lowbrow and younger and less expensive.
- 46:16Speaker 4: And then you want to go on the nicer one,
- 46:18Speaker 4: but the nicer one is just old rich gays.
- 46:20Speaker 5: It's the amazing thing about the gay community is there
- 46:23Speaker 5: just aren't enough of us for there to be multiple levels.
- 46:26Speaker 5: Like there's just the one company. I know their name
- 46:29Speaker 5: and I'm not saying it, but there's like just the
- 46:32Speaker 5: one thing, like we don't even have like a Caribbean
- 46:34Speaker 5: or like they just opened a resort and, um, in, uh,
- 46:41Speaker 5: not Cabo, what's the other one? Puerto Vallarta, in Puerto Vallarta.
- 46:46Speaker 5: They just opened like an all gay resort in Puerto Vallarta,
- 46:49Speaker 5: but like before that, there wasn't even just like a
- 46:52Speaker 5: resort that was ours because there aren't enough of us.
- 46:55Speaker 5: But the important thing to take away from this is
- 46:57Speaker 5: that like, Every worked out gay lawyer and optometrist in Columbus,
- 47:02Speaker 5: Ohio is just doing that so he can go and
- 47:07Speaker 5: like live a debauched life on a boat for one
- 47:11Speaker 5: week out of the year. Like all of those guys,
- 47:13Speaker 5: like all of like my friend Andrew insists that every
- 47:17Speaker 5: gay lawyer is just doing it so that they can
- 47:19Speaker 5: go like do drugs on a on a beach somewhere
- 47:23Speaker 5: for two weeks.
- 47:24Speaker 2: Out of the year. And what's the drugs that they
- 47:25Speaker 2: like to do? GHB.
- 47:27Speaker 5: Cocaine, some of them.
- 47:28Speaker 2: Is it GHB, the date rape?
- 47:31Speaker 5: Yes.
- 47:31Speaker 6: Oh.
- 47:32Speaker 5: But gay guys remove the middleman and just date rape
- 47:34Speaker 5: drug themselves. So GHB, meth, cocaine. There's something called meth,
- 47:42Speaker 5: and I have no idea what it is.
- 47:44Speaker 4: And are they scared that they could get slipped something
- 47:48Speaker 4: wrong in it and then accidentally die?
- 47:50Speaker 5: Well, it's more about doing the math wrong. Like generally
- 47:53Speaker 5: on these cruises, like, The notion of one guy dying
- 47:56Speaker 5: every cruise is kind of normal. Like just sort of
- 47:59Speaker 5: one person overdoses and dies.
- 48:02Speaker 4: And does the crew stop or do they act like
- 48:04Speaker 4: it didn't happen until the end?
- 48:06Speaker 5: I think you have to stop and you have to
- 48:07Speaker 5: deal with Bahamian officials and like repatriate the body and
- 48:10Speaker 5: that sort of thing.
- 48:14Speaker 2: But, you know, and they like.
- 48:18Speaker 4: What happens with the rest of the people that came
- 48:19Speaker 4: in the crew? Like if four guys went together and
- 48:22Speaker 4: one passes, do they continue with their. free drinks or
- 48:26Speaker 4: what do they do i have.
- 48:27Speaker 5: To assume so you know like later when they return
- 48:31Speaker 5: to manhattan will they leave one of the the bikes
- 48:35Speaker 5: open in honor of him at the spin class yes
- 48:38Speaker 5: but you know you paid your money for the cruise
- 48:43Speaker 5: like you're gonna get your good time.
- 48:45Speaker 4: Out of it so you have never been asked to
- 48:46Speaker 4: perform and therefore you have never thought i would have
- 48:50Speaker 4: fun there no.
- 48:51Speaker 2: Okay so In all your years.
- 48:53Speaker 5: In the run ups to my last birthday, my friend Matt,
- 48:56Speaker 5: whose birthday is like the same week as mine, was like,
- 48:59Speaker 5: let's go on this cruise. It was an Atlantis cruise
- 49:03Speaker 5: of Asia. And he was like, let's do this for
- 49:05Speaker 5: our birthday.
- 49:05Speaker 2: Okay.
- 49:06Speaker 5: And it was like semi tempting, but I had already
- 49:08Speaker 5: planned something myself. And so I was like, no, like
- 49:11Speaker 5: it does seem tempting, but also it's like, I'm not
- 49:16Speaker 5: going to be the flavor of gay that most of
- 49:18Speaker 5: those guys are looking for. So it like, wouldn't be fun.
- 49:21Speaker 5: I mean, I think performing would be interesting, but apparently
- 49:23Speaker 5: performing is also like rough in its way because they're
- 49:27Speaker 5: all like naked and drugged. And, and, you know, I
- 49:31Speaker 5: think there are on the cruise, like some older gentlemen
- 49:33Speaker 5: who are looking.
- 49:34Speaker 2: To like, uh, you know, have a conversation and enjoy
- 49:37Speaker 2: the performances.
- 49:37Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 49:40Speaker 5: But they are not, you know, the center of the story.
- 49:42Speaker 2: Got it. Okay.
- 49:45Speaker 4: According to TMZ, Britney Spears sells her rights to her
- 49:49Speaker 4: music catalog. She just signed a massive new music deal,
- 49:53Speaker 4: one that sells her rights to her extensive music catalog.
- 49:57Speaker 2: I'm worried about this.
- 49:59Speaker 5: Like, I just finished watching The Traitors Season 3, and
- 50:02Speaker 5: Sam Asghari was very savvy.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Yes.
- 50:04Speaker 5: And I am like.
- 50:05Speaker 2: Had him on the show.
- 50:07Speaker 5: Did he seem smart?
- 50:07Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 50:08Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 50:09Speaker 4: It was really interesting to have him on because it
- 50:13Speaker 4: was probably like five months ago and there was a
- 50:16Speaker 4: lot going on in Iran at the time as there
- 50:18Speaker 4: is now. But he really spoke so, you know, heartfelt
- 50:23Speaker 4: about what it was like to be a child to
- 50:25Speaker 4: come over here and why they left because he had
- 50:28Speaker 4: sisters and what it means. And he really talked about that. But,
- 50:32Speaker 4: I mean, he also shared about being with Britney.
- 50:35Speaker 2: I mean, it's just what did he have to say?
- 50:38Speaker 2: I mean, I can't remember.
- 50:39Speaker 4: What he said because we had some conversation off, but
- 50:44Speaker 4: you see her spinning.
- 50:46Speaker 5: Yes.
- 50:46Speaker 4: I hung out with her for maybe 25 minutes one night.
- 50:50Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:51Speaker 2: I wouldn't want to be married to her either.
- 50:53Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 50:53Speaker 4: Like, I just think it's very hard when someone is
- 50:56Speaker 4: mentally in her space. And I think you marry her
- 51:01Speaker 4: and you hope and maybe you think like, okay, now
- 51:03Speaker 4: we're married. Things are going to change. And no, I mean,
- 51:08Speaker 4: it was he who I think just decided like, I can't.
- 51:11Speaker 4: And he had like a cute girlfriend with him here.
- 51:14Speaker 4: And I just think he wants to be an actor
- 51:16Speaker 4: and everything. I don't think he used her or anything
- 51:19Speaker 4: like that. I think they were together. And I think
- 51:21Speaker 4: he was hoping that this would be like his wife forever.
- 51:24Speaker 5: But her catalog, I just wish she... It's that hard
- 51:28Speaker 5: thing of you wish she had somebody with her who
- 51:30Speaker 5: was helping manage her. She does.
- 51:32Speaker 2: But her life was destroyed. She's Cade Hudson. Who's Cade? Cade.
- 51:36Speaker 5: Cade Hudson?
- 51:37Speaker 2: Yes, you know him?
- 51:38Speaker 5: No, is that her boyfriend now?
- 51:40Speaker 2: No, he's her manager.
- 51:42Speaker 5: Okay.
- 51:44Speaker 2: He's gay. He has a lot of big clients. He's
- 51:48Speaker 2: fun to hang out with him. So, I mean, I
- 51:53Speaker 2: don't know that it's a bad idea. Because, I mean.
- 51:56Speaker 4: I don't think she's going to really ever perform again.
- 52:00Speaker 4: So I think this sets her up financially, truly to
- 52:05Speaker 4: live the rest of her life, don't you think?
- 52:07Speaker 5: I mean, the thing that she needs is just to
- 52:08Speaker 5: be able to live her life on the terms that
- 52:10Speaker 5: she wants. And if this allows for that, it's just
- 52:12Speaker 5: that her Cadillac has to be bringing in so much
- 52:15Speaker 5: money on a regular basis that I would think it
- 52:18Speaker 5: would be able to take care of her. Her needing
- 52:19Speaker 5: to do this, my question is why. But the thing
- 52:23Speaker 5: I hadn't thought about before is, if she realizes this
- 52:27Speaker 5: money in one pot now, whoever is representing her gets
- 52:31Speaker 5: 10% of that instead of having to, you know, possibly
- 52:36Speaker 5: be fired or whatever and move along. So that is
- 52:40Speaker 5: interesting to me. But like, I want her to have
- 52:43Speaker 5: her happiness under whatever terms she needs. And, you know, yeah.
- 52:49Speaker 2: I mean, I just wonder if people that are in Oh,
- 52:54Speaker 2: that mental place.
- 52:55Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 52:56Speaker 4: Whether it's you're truly, you know, you need to be
- 53:00Speaker 4: on drugs or you're not on drugs, but you are
- 53:03Speaker 4: just spinning around and talking in accents and slapping your
- 53:05Speaker 4: own ass.
- 53:06Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:07Speaker 2: And then the next day you do that. And maybe
- 53:10Speaker 2: in your brain, like, that's fine.
- 53:13Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:14Speaker 2: It's like, what do I know? I'm still in my house.
- 53:18Speaker 4: I still see my friend that, you know, or my
- 53:20Speaker 4: who I think is my friend. I get to go
- 53:22Speaker 4: to Mexico. I get to spin around. I see that,
- 53:25Speaker 4: you know, 42,000 people liked it.
- 53:28Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 53:28Speaker 2: And like, that's enough for me. She doesn't want to
- 53:31Speaker 2: commit to like doing shows. She's done it already.
- 53:34Speaker 5: I just, I mean, the thing, but selling the catalog
- 53:37Speaker 5: means like, no longer having the regular source of income.
- 53:40Speaker 5: And I just don't want to come.
- 53:41Speaker 2: To a point. So you mean it just is one
- 53:43Speaker 2: big chunk of money?
- 53:44Speaker 5: Yeah, it's one big chunk.
- 53:45Speaker 2: So what do you think it is?
- 53:46Speaker 4: $ 100 million to $ 200 million maybe?
- 53:49Speaker 2: I mean, I just- It should be more than that.
- 53:51Speaker 5: Yes, I'm sure it will be a sizable amount of money,
- 53:54Speaker 5: but I'm sure it cannot equal what it would have
- 53:57Speaker 5: been if she had just collected that money for the
- 53:59Speaker 5: next- 40 years.
- 54:00Speaker 2: That's the whole point.
- 54:01Speaker 5: Like when Michael Jackson did it, I think it was
- 54:02Speaker 5: because of the settlements that he had to do with
- 54:06Speaker 5: the kids.
- 54:08Speaker 2: Are you excited to see his movie?
- 54:10Speaker 5: Oh, no. I don't know about it.
- 54:12Speaker 2: You don't know that his movie's coming out?
- 54:14Speaker 6: No.
- 54:15Speaker 4: So it's one, some relative, nephew, something is playing him.
- 54:22Speaker 4: And from what I saw, it looks very good.
- 54:25Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 54:26Speaker 4: It looks like it only goes up to a certain point.
- 54:30Speaker 4: Like the family's behind it, so they probably don't get
- 54:33Speaker 4: to the accusations and all that.
- 54:35Speaker 2: And so it'll just be like his story.
- 54:40Speaker 4: I'm sure the Pepsi burning off his head story, you know,
- 54:43Speaker 4: when he gets in the commercial.
- 54:45Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 54:47Speaker 5: Both of them were just people who did not get
- 54:49Speaker 5: to have a childhood.
- 54:50Speaker 2: Right.
- 54:50Speaker 5: It seems so sad to me.
- 54:52Speaker 2: I mean, I love every Michael Jackson movie. I'm the
- 54:55Speaker 2: one with.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Who's the, she played the mom. Oh God.
- 55:00Speaker 4: It was like a made for TV movie. And it
- 55:02Speaker 4: was just really how awful the dad was that he cheated.
- 55:06Speaker 2: And he like, he was violent.
- 55:09Speaker 4: With the kids. And that one was really wait. Who
- 55:13Speaker 4: is the, who is the actress that's like in, um, Oh,
- 55:17Speaker 4: the actress that.
- 55:18Speaker 2: Played Tina Turner.
- 55:19Speaker 5: Oh, it's Angela Bassett.
- 55:20Speaker 2: Yeah. So Angela Bassett plays the mom.
- 55:23Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 55:23Speaker 4: And I just remember the made for TV movie where
- 55:25Speaker 4: she's like, she kind of had like a limp or care,
- 55:28Speaker 4: you know, the real woman had a limp or whatever.
- 55:30Speaker 4: And so she's like, I'll get you some ice cream.
- 55:32Speaker 4: She's being nice to her husband and the phone rings
- 55:34Speaker 4: and it's like some mistress. And she's just like, like
- 55:37Speaker 4: she just put up with so much.
- 55:39Speaker 5: Yes.
- 55:40Speaker 2: And then being in this.
- 55:42Speaker 4: Weird place where they were just such a phenomenon. And
- 55:44Speaker 4: then realizing that the young that here, this one is
- 55:47Speaker 4: the one that's going to be the star.
- 55:49Speaker 5: No, I mean, That's got to be very hard. And, like,
- 55:53Speaker 5: his brothers were so mean to him because he was
- 55:55Speaker 5: the star in that dynamic. Like, almost in the way that, like,
- 55:58Speaker 5: Prince Charles got bullied because, like, everyone knew he was
- 56:01Speaker 5: going to be king. But then they also saw he was, like,
- 56:03Speaker 5: a person and emotionally vulnerable. That's always really hard.
- 56:07Speaker 2: You know how people know that, like, Paris Hilton changed
- 56:09Speaker 2: her voice?
- 56:10Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 56:10Speaker 2: And then you'll see her with her normal voice?
- 56:12Speaker 5: Yes.
- 56:13Speaker 2: So Michael Jackson then created that high voice?
- 56:16Speaker 5: Yes.
- 56:17Speaker 2: And I remember.
- 56:19Speaker 4: people, Keenan being one of them, Karen Waits, saying that
- 56:22Speaker 4: like he talked to him and he was like, doesn't
- 56:24Speaker 4: talk like that.
- 56:25Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 56:26Speaker 2: He didn't have, it was like an effect.
- 56:29Speaker 4: And I always wondered if it was like, he was
- 56:31Speaker 4: sort of obsessed with Diana Ross. And is that why
- 56:34Speaker 4: he like wanted to sound like her when she spoke?
- 56:37Speaker 4: It was so strange that why, if you were also
- 56:41Speaker 4: wanting to present that you were straight and Regular dad
- 56:46Speaker 4: and not whatever he.
- 56:47Speaker 2: Was sexually, who knows. But why then would you take
- 56:51Speaker 2: on such a high feminine voice?
- 56:53Speaker 5: That is very interesting. There have been so many celebrities
- 56:55Speaker 5: more recently who have really effectively created personas to distance
- 56:59Speaker 5: who they are really from who we consume, you know.
- 57:03Speaker 5: Sia not letting us see her face forever. And like
- 57:05Speaker 5: part of me is like.
- 57:06Speaker 2: And then she does, right?
- 57:07Speaker 5: Now she does.
- 57:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:08Speaker 5: But like what if Michael Jackson were that savvy? I
- 57:10Speaker 5: just don't believe that he was that savvy. I just,
- 57:13Speaker 5: I'm never going to stop worrying about Britney Spears. You know? Yeah.
- 57:16Speaker 5: I'm like just never going to.
- 57:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 57:20Speaker 5: Because once it's a set amount of money, she's got
- 57:22Speaker 5: to be able to run through that money. You know?
- 57:24Speaker 2: It's just sad.
- 57:25Speaker 4: Like I was watching this like compilation of all people.
- 57:29Speaker 4: little highlights of like the super bowl for the last
- 57:32Speaker 4: 30 years or whatever starting at like 1991 yes and
- 57:35Speaker 4: they and you're like oh i remember that one oh
- 57:37Speaker 4: okay oh jester timberlake did it twice oh this is
- 57:40Speaker 4: where you know janet jackson's tit was exposed and that
- 57:43Speaker 4: was such a scandal right and of course the woman
- 57:47Speaker 4: took the fall for that her anyway but she was
- 57:50Speaker 4: in one of the super bowl things and just to
- 57:52Speaker 4: see her be like yay and like be so sharp
- 57:56Speaker 4: and so great when we've only seen this instagram side
- 57:59Speaker 4: of her for like the last five years it's just
- 58:01Speaker 4: kind of like it's a bummer and this is a
- 58:04Speaker 4: bummer that she's always dressed in these weird cheap outfits i.
- 58:09Speaker 5: Was going to ask how many peasant tops do you
- 58:11Speaker 5: think she owns.
- 58:12Speaker 2: So many and and like and it's always like you
- 58:15Speaker 2: know a bikini bottom yes with like a winter hat
- 58:19Speaker 2: and a and a boot it's.
- 58:21Speaker 5: Just so sad that there was no one there to
- 58:23Speaker 5: take care of her like it really.
- 58:24Speaker 4: Is i just think who is i just think anyone
- 58:27Speaker 4: that's hanging out with her is hanging out with her
- 58:30Speaker 4: because they're being paid. Because after a while, I don't
- 58:35Speaker 4: care that you loved every single song that she ever
- 58:39Speaker 4: wrote and you're like, I can't believe I'm in the
- 58:40Speaker 4: presence of Britney Spears. It's like having to be on
- 58:46Speaker 4: call and watching a three-year-old all day.
- 58:49Speaker 2: So it's like, let's get yogurt, let's go.
- 58:52Speaker 4: I think even if you're just like that girl that's
- 58:54Speaker 4: like her paid assistant, after a while you're probably like,
- 58:58Speaker 4: I can't do it. But who knows, whatever this thing is,
- 59:03Speaker 4: I hope it's the right move.
- 59:05Speaker 5: I hope so.
- 59:05Speaker 2: Let's talk about Real Housewives of Beverly Hills a little bit.
- 59:08Speaker 6: Okay.
- 59:10Speaker 2: How are you feeling about the season, Amanda?
- 59:12Speaker 5: Tell me. I've been loving this season. Amanda's the worst,
- 59:15Speaker 5: and I feel like everyone having that to agree on. Like,
- 59:18Speaker 5: having a common enemy has been really good.
- 59:20Speaker 2: Totally.
- 59:21Speaker 5: But also just the shape of things has been really
- 59:23Speaker 5: different in a way that was unexpected. Like, I think
- 59:29Speaker 5: Dorit has been throwing punches, and you know I love that.
- 59:33Speaker 5: I feel like Erika is, like, coming back a little bit,
- 59:36Speaker 5: and after having, like, the weight of the show on
- 59:39Speaker 5: her for, like, two seasons, she's been kind of breezy
- 59:41Speaker 5: for a while, and I kind of want her to
- 59:42Speaker 5: have a real story. And, like.
- 59:47Speaker 5: Bo, Bo's, what do we call her?
- 59:49Speaker 2: Bozoma? Bo's is her name.
- 59:51Speaker 5: Yes.
- 59:51Speaker 2: Sorry. Yeah.
- 59:52Speaker 5: But like, um, and like Bo's has just been like
- 59:55Speaker 5: really fun and kooky. I loved her friend from Denver
- 59:58Speaker 5: coming to tacos when Mauricio showed up. How does that
- 1:00:02Speaker 5: work with production? Do they, are they just holding, do
- 1:00:05Speaker 5: you believe that Mauricio was at that location?
- 1:00:08Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:00:08Speaker 6: No.
- 1:00:08Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:00:09Speaker 4: No, I think they were like, they're going to have lunch.
- 1:00:12Speaker 4: Would you make an appearance? I think, It could be
- 1:00:16Speaker 4: that he gets paid five grand every time he shows up.
- 1:00:19Speaker 2: And why not?
- 1:00:20Speaker 4: I mean, right now, it was very funny that he
- 1:00:22Speaker 4: is trying to be a DJ.
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:00:24Speaker 4: He also modeled the other day. And now it's just
- 1:00:29Speaker 4: kind of funny.
- 1:00:30Speaker 5: He doesn't get to do that and tell me about
- 1:00:32Speaker 5: how we're opening up offices for the.
- 1:00:34Speaker 2: Real estate agency.
- 1:00:37Speaker 4: It's a lot more fun to be a television personality
- 1:00:41Speaker 4: model DJ. That's a lot more fun than worrying about
- 1:00:45Speaker 4: the mansion tax.
- 1:00:48Speaker 5: I do think there's something sweet about the fact that
- 1:00:52Speaker 5: Kyle is still in love with him after having... you know,
- 1:00:56Speaker 5: they've had their midlife crises.
- 1:00:59Speaker 4: Well, she's laughing at him becoming a DJ and being like,
- 1:01:01Speaker 4: you had your midlife crises.
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: It's like, you were a country groupie.
- 1:01:06Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:01:06Speaker 2: Like, you got a girlfriend and not only was she country,
- 1:01:12Speaker 2: she was tattooed, she was younger, and she was a woman.
- 1:01:16Speaker 5: And you couldn't even admit to it.
- 1:01:19Speaker 2: She's kind of admitted to it.
- 1:01:21Speaker 5: Jennifer Tilly has been killing it.
- 1:01:23Speaker 2: She's so much fun.
- 1:01:24Speaker 5: Kathy is so amazing. But like Jennifer Tilly is a
- 1:01:27Speaker 5: gifted performer, richer than God, and like knows how to
- 1:01:32Speaker 5: give you comic relief.
- 1:01:33Speaker 4: The thing is, is that these ladies are all just
- 1:01:35Speaker 4: so interesting in their own right that when someone goes,
- 1:01:38Speaker 4: it's a boring season, it's a boring episode, I'm like,
- 1:01:40Speaker 4: I'm not bored.
- 1:01:41Speaker 5: I'm not bored. And also, I do think Amanda has
- 1:01:44Speaker 5: given us a great opportunity to embrace Rachel Zoe. Like
- 1:01:47Speaker 5: hating Amanda has given Rachel Zoe the space she needs
- 1:01:50Speaker 5: to really just.
- 1:01:51Speaker 2: Like Rachel Zoe is the star of the show. Yep.
- 1:01:55Speaker 4: And I don't know if she chose to go on
- 1:01:58Speaker 4: this because she knew this is a way I could
- 1:02:01Speaker 4: get out what a shit husband I'm married to.
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: Yeah. And I kind of want to do that.
- 1:02:05Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:02:06Speaker 4: And I kind of want to do something fun for me.
- 1:02:08Speaker 4: I think it's such a great... I'm so happy that
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: she did it.
- 1:02:11Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:02:12Speaker 4: For all of us, but also for her. Like, I mean,
- 1:02:15Speaker 4: this is a great thing to do when you're getting divorced.
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: And it wasn't just divorce. Like, they've been together since, like, college.
- 1:02:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:02:21Speaker 2: So.
- 1:02:22Speaker 4: even if she's not dating anyone, just to be doing
- 1:02:24Speaker 4: something fun and different that takes you on trips and
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: just having like something new in your life besides what
- 1:02:30Speaker 4: you've been doing, I think is really fun. And then
- 1:02:33Speaker 4: I think that she comes off like a really good friend.
- 1:02:38Speaker 4: And when she's like, I'm sorry, I know we're supposed
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: to all be good about not bitching about our husbands,
- 1:02:43Speaker 4: but if we're really living authenticity in front of the
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: cameras we would vent to our fucking girlfriends we all
- 1:02:50Speaker 4: do so I think that's why Dorit was getting upset
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: because she's like I don't need you guys to now
- 1:02:56Speaker 4: say I'm doing wrong when I'm on the show and
- 1:02:59Speaker 4: I am gonna I am gonna talk about PK and
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: that he's you know driving me crazy and not being
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: a good father in my opinion I'm allowed to say
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: it And I.
- 1:03:09Speaker 2: Think she is.
- 1:03:11Speaker 5: I hated Sutton for so long because I'm like, why
- 1:03:14Speaker 5: are you being the worst person? And now I'm like,
- 1:03:16Speaker 5: now that Sutton is behaving herself, is the show worse? Like,
- 1:03:19Speaker 5: does the show need Sutton being terrible?
- 1:03:22Speaker 2: I definitely think she.
- 1:03:25Speaker 4: You know, want is, is behaving herself and is, you know,
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: not saying name them, name them and all that kind
- 1:03:32Speaker 4: of stuff. But still, you know, she, she, it still
- 1:03:36Speaker 4: all works together. I mean, the way, the way Bose
- 1:03:40Speaker 4: was in that dinner, if she really is the voice
- 1:03:43Speaker 4: of reason and she really is like, well, what are
- 1:03:47Speaker 4: you talking about? Like, this isn't going to work here. Like,
- 1:03:49Speaker 4: when she's like, I was verbally attacked and everything, people
- 1:03:53Speaker 4: are like, oh my, you're on the housewives. Like, you
- 1:03:55Speaker 4: know we're going to have a conversation.
- 1:03:57Speaker 5: But Boze is a really good voice of reason because
- 1:04:00Speaker 5: she throws some punches while she's doing it. I just
- 1:04:02Speaker 5: think if Amanda were a more grounded villain... I would
- 1:04:06Speaker 5: be much happier with the season.
- 1:04:08Speaker 4: Well, the rumor is that she leaves halfway through or
- 1:04:12Speaker 4: kind of stops doing it.
- 1:04:13Speaker 2: I wouldn't be shocked. I don't know if she's said that.
- 1:04:15Speaker 2: That's not true.
- 1:04:16Speaker 4: I know we see her like, I'm pretty sure she
- 1:04:18Speaker 4: goes on the European, goes to the Italy trip and
- 1:04:21Speaker 4: stuff coming up. But, you know, I don't like, I
- 1:04:27Speaker 4: don't think anyone like hates Amanda. Even Sutton told me
- 1:04:31Speaker 4: when I saw her a couple weeks ago, she's like,
- 1:04:33Speaker 4: she goes, Amanda's not a bad person.
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:35Speaker 2: She's not a bad person.
- 1:04:38Speaker 4: You know, it just, she's younger and she joined the
- 1:04:41Speaker 4: group and she is who she is. She's this person
- 1:04:44Speaker 4: that has made a.
- 1:04:46Speaker 2: Lot of money. Right. Doing a fluffy manifestation.
- 1:04:50Speaker 4: And if people are willing to pay for it and
- 1:04:52Speaker 4: she's delivering the goods that they're paying for, like, we
- 1:04:55Speaker 4: can't be mad at that. She has made that legit,
- 1:04:58Speaker 4: made that money herself.
- 1:04:59Speaker 5: And the show really could have used a younger person to,
- 1:05:03Speaker 5: like to just sort of like come in and play
- 1:05:05Speaker 5: the game and and get in there like yeah i
- 1:05:08Speaker 5: mean i'm wondering.
- 1:05:10Speaker 4: It's a weird it's a she is a weird person
- 1:05:13Speaker 4: but it helps with the show i think they knew
- 1:05:15Speaker 4: this is weird she has a weird job she kind
- 1:05:17Speaker 4: of comes off weird she's braggadocious we need to throw
- 1:05:21Speaker 4: a wrench in it if they just picked another woman
- 1:05:23Speaker 4: that they're all friends with I don't know.
- 1:05:25Speaker 5: A 37-year-old Lisa Vanderpump. What you need is somebody who has, like,
- 1:05:29Speaker 5: enough self-possession to be calling people on their shit.
- 1:05:31Speaker 2: Yeah. Which she did. She did, yes. I mean, she
- 1:05:34Speaker 2: kind of did with the Dreet, but it's like, after
- 1:05:36Speaker 2: a while, you're like, all right, whatever. But it.
- 1:05:40Speaker 5: Were you impressed by the anniversary of losing my child, Gambit?
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: Like.
- 1:05:46Speaker 4: I mean, I feel it's such a hard thing to
- 1:05:47Speaker 4: talk about because it is so awful.
- 1:05:49Speaker 5: Yeah. You know....
- 1:05:54Speaker 4: OK, I'll tell you, I all of a sudden I
- 1:05:55Speaker 4: was like, why is this like weirdly familiar to me?
- 1:05:57Speaker 2: And then I remembered why. OK, so a few years ago,
- 1:06:03Speaker 2: maybe four years ago or so, I was like. She's
- 1:06:08Speaker 2: so annoyed of seeing people do like photos of like,
- 1:06:13Speaker 2: you know, sorry, it's not perfect, but then they would
- 1:06:15Speaker 2: look really good.
- 1:06:16Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:06:16Speaker 2: And I've always been annoyed by Chrissy Teigen. Yes.
- 1:06:20Speaker 4: I was annoyed when she came on Chelsea Lately. I
- 1:06:22Speaker 4: was annoyed that she thought she was a comedian. I
- 1:06:24Speaker 4: never found her to be funny. I don't know why
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: she gets all these jobs judging comedians when I don't
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: think she's funny.
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: I think what she did and wrote, I think, yes.
- 1:06:32Speaker 4: I think her tweets are weird that she deleted in
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: light of things with all the pizza and the toddler
- 1:06:37Speaker 4: and Tierra comments.
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: I always thought it was fucking weird.
- 1:06:39Speaker 4: And then to see her come back on star search,
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: I'm like, of all the people, she already was canceled.
- 1:06:46Speaker 4: Now she's, you know, she's a judge on star search.
- 1:06:48Speaker 5: I didn't know that.
- 1:06:49Speaker 2: With, um, with, um, jelly roll. She was canceled. Basically, uh, Stauden,
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: what's her name? Courtney Stauden. Courtney Stauden, yeah. Kind of
- 1:07:00Speaker 2: reminded the world that she would tweet her and say,
- 1:07:02Speaker 2: go end your life.
- 1:07:04Speaker 6: Oh, wow.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: Take a dirt bath or a dirt bed or whatever.
- 1:07:07Speaker 4: Sleep with all these awful things. And then that reminded
- 1:07:10Speaker 4: everybody of all the horrible things that she had tweeted
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: over the years. That were literally pedo stuff, okay? And,
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: but then... when I'm always trying to look the other side,
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: I'm like, I don't know. Was she trying to be funny?
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: I don't know. Okay.
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: She really wants to be funny. And so during that time,
- 1:07:31Speaker 4: so I thought she went away, but she got to
- 1:07:32Speaker 4: stay cause she's married to John legend. So anyway, she
- 1:07:37Speaker 4: did some posts where it was just like, Um, her
- 1:07:40Speaker 4: looking gorgeous, but her eyes were like shut.
- 1:07:42Speaker 2: And she's like, yeah, uh, I don't care.
- 1:07:44Speaker 4: I never even asked when my glam squad says, can,
- 1:07:48Speaker 4: can I take a photo of this or post it?
- 1:07:49Speaker 4: I'm like, go ahead. And then this is like my
- 1:07:51Speaker 4: ugly photo, whatever. So of course the comments like, what
- 1:07:53Speaker 4: are you talking about? Chrissy Teigen, you look gorgeous, whatever.
- 1:07:56Speaker 4: And I just wrote something like, oh, please enough with
- 1:07:59Speaker 4: the humble brag. Like if you're going to be judging comedians,
- 1:08:03Speaker 4: like come up with some better material.
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: I wrote something like that. Somehow, um, It got out there.
- 1:08:08Speaker 2: It was a slow day.
- 1:08:09Speaker 4: And people kind of liked that I went after her
- 1:08:12Speaker 4: or whatever. And then at the end of the day,
- 1:08:15Speaker 4: she did a post like, F you, today is the day,
- 1:08:20Speaker 4: the anniversary of when she had lost her baby. But
- 1:08:24Speaker 4: she posted that photo that day.
- 1:08:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: And how was I supposed to know that she had
- 1:08:30Speaker 2: a miscarriage? Yeah. So then.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: like I'm leaving my office in Wilden Hills and TMZ
- 1:08:37Speaker 4: like comes and they're like, can we ask you about this?
- 1:08:41Speaker 4: And I'm like, of course I didn't know that she
- 1:08:44Speaker 4: lost her kid. I'm a comedian, a real comedian. I
- 1:08:48Speaker 4: was pointing out humble brags on social media.
- 1:08:51Speaker 2: That's it. I would never think to say anything. So
- 1:08:55Speaker 2: that is where I think like you're going.
- 1:08:59Speaker 4: Back and forth with so whether it's on a reality
- 1:09:00Speaker 4: show and then someone pulls out this thing like, didn't
- 1:09:03Speaker 4: you know that this is my mother died?
- 1:09:07Speaker 2: And you're like, no, I didn't know your mother died.
- 1:09:09Speaker 4: Like you were still being a bitch at the grocery store.
- 1:09:11Speaker 2: I don't know what to tell you.
- 1:09:12Speaker 4: Like I didn't know that. And so I think that's
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: what I think. I think it's a weird thing. She's
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: new on the show. you know, they don't have to
- 1:09:22Speaker 4: go to everything, but they also have a producer that
- 1:09:25Speaker 4: guides them.
- 1:09:26Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 1:09:26Speaker 2: That is probably like, if you're up for it, I
- 1:09:28Speaker 2: think it would be great.
- 1:09:29Speaker 4: Or I think it'd be really great if you shared
- 1:09:31Speaker 4: this moment. There's so many women that have been through this.
- 1:09:33Speaker 4: You're going to be, you know, like they talk you
- 1:09:35Speaker 4: into sharing stuff. And then the people at home. criticize
- 1:09:39Speaker 4: you for sharing it, you know, or whatever. And you're like, well,
- 1:09:42Speaker 4: you don't know what led them decide to share it
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: on camera.
- 1:09:45Speaker 5: And also when you come to these things, there is
- 1:09:47Speaker 5: an expectation that there will be some degree of confrontation
- 1:09:50Speaker 5: about the thing that's going on, you know, but also
- 1:09:55Speaker 5: that's rough. And I understand not being logical when it
- 1:09:58Speaker 5: comes to something that real and visceral, you know?
- 1:10:02Speaker 2: Yeah. And, um, but, You know, I think it's good.
- 1:10:06Speaker 2: We'll see.
- 1:10:07Speaker 4: Do you know that Costco is selling Hermes Birkin bags?
- 1:10:12Speaker 5: I did not know that.
- 1:10:14Speaker 2: At some of their international locations.
- 1:10:17Speaker 5: That's insane.
- 1:10:18Speaker 4: So they're still thousands of dollars, but instead of being
- 1:10:20Speaker 4: like 30 grand, they're like nine.
- 1:10:23Speaker 5: Well, I mean, it's like.
- 1:10:24Speaker 4: I mean, doesn't it just look like such an ugly
- 1:10:26Speaker 4: old lady bag, like in that glass photo?
- 1:10:29Speaker 2: It really does.
- 1:10:30Speaker 6: I mean.
- 1:10:31Speaker 5: I would like, I'm never going to spend $ 30, 000 on
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: a bag.
- 1:10:34Speaker 2: Never.
- 1:10:34Speaker 5: I would want to get to go to the Hermes store,
- 1:10:36Speaker 5: you know? Yeah.
- 1:10:37Speaker 4: The whole fun of it is going to the store.
- 1:10:40Speaker 2: Right.
- 1:10:41Speaker 4: But I always wonder when they, when something like this happens,
- 1:10:44Speaker 4: does this start to kill it for the brand?
- 1:10:46Speaker 5: I mean, like, but that's how the brand really makes
- 1:10:49Speaker 5: the money is selling out in that way, you know,
- 1:10:51Speaker 5: but it does sort of kill the magic.
- 1:10:55Speaker 4: I mean, like if I was someone that had like
- 1:10:56Speaker 4: a bunch of these bags, I'd be like, They're just,
- 1:10:59Speaker 4: the dupes are so good now that it's just like,
- 1:11:02Speaker 4: who's to say?
- 1:11:03Speaker 5: I wish I were one of the gay guys who
- 1:11:05Speaker 5: was good at identifying when people have a knockoff handbag.
- 1:11:07Speaker 5: That would be a cool power to have.
- 1:11:09Speaker 2: I can't even tell.
- 1:11:10Speaker 4: I went into someone's closet recently and they're like, you
- 1:11:15Speaker 4: pick out what's real and what's fake and see how
- 1:11:17Speaker 4: you do.
- 1:11:17Speaker 5: That's an awesome game.
- 1:11:19Speaker 2: I failed.
- 1:11:20Speaker 5: Oh, wow.
- 1:11:21Speaker 2: I mean, I couldn't believe it. I was like, now this.
- 1:11:25Speaker 2: And it was like, no, I was wrong.
- 1:11:27Speaker 5: Should we produce a thing that's like Battle of the
- 1:11:29Speaker 5: Network Stars, but it's called Housewife Games? And we get together.
- 1:11:33Speaker 5: We do this at BravoCon. We shoot it live at BravoCon.
- 1:11:37Speaker 5: It's like the Price is Right slash supermarket sweep, but
- 1:11:41Speaker 5: for housewifey high-end things. Right.
- 1:11:45Speaker 4: Well, and then also it's like with these fake dupes
- 1:11:48Speaker 4: and stuff, it's like... If you're going to have a
- 1:11:50Speaker 4: dupe that the real one is like $ 45, 000, it's got
- 1:11:54Speaker 4: to be believable that you would be someone that would
- 1:11:56Speaker 4: have a $ 45, 000 bag. So you might want to just
- 1:11:59Speaker 4: go and get a dupe of a $ 2, 500 bag for $ 300.
- 1:12:05Speaker 4: I say a dupe, but I mean like a fake.
- 1:12:07Speaker 4: And then that's like the philosophy of it.
- 1:12:10Speaker 5: Nothing made me happier than when Jennifer Tilly brought along
- 1:12:14Speaker 5: like an insane vintage bag that was like $ 100, 000. Yeah.
- 1:12:17Speaker 5: And Erica just like had her tongue out of her
- 1:12:21Speaker 5: mouth and was just like so respectful of like the quality,
- 1:12:26Speaker 5: both the expense and the quality.
- 1:12:27Speaker 2: And she's like, well, what else am I supposed to
- 1:12:28Speaker 2: do with my money? I'll just use this little Titanic bag.
- 1:12:33Speaker 2: purse that is from Louis Vuitton, whatever.
- 1:12:35Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:12:36Speaker 2: It's amazing. It is so great. And when it was,
- 1:12:40Speaker 2: who was it? It was someone that said like, you're
- 1:12:42Speaker 2: at the table.
- 1:12:43Speaker 4: Maybe it was a content creator, but someone's like to
- 1:12:47Speaker 4: the Amanda, like show some respect. Like you're at a
- 1:12:50Speaker 4: table with fricking Kathy Hilton, Jennifer Tilly. you know, Kyle, who's,
- 1:12:57Speaker 4: you know, been on the show forever. Like it is
- 1:13:00Speaker 4: really just going back to that. I mean, it really
- 1:13:01Speaker 4: is such a, it really is such a great cast.
- 1:13:04Speaker 5: It really is. Would you look askance at a diamond
- 1:13:07Speaker 5: that came from Costco?
- 1:13:09Speaker 2: Like if I got, I got diamonds from Costco are
- 1:13:13Speaker 2: really good. Now I got diamond hoop earrings. One, unfortunately
- 1:13:18Speaker 2: I lost.
- 1:13:19Speaker 4: And I have a cool diamond, like, different diamond necklace. Uh-huh.
- 1:13:25Speaker 2: But, no, they are legit, real diamonds. And for less.
- 1:13:32Speaker 5: I mean, the frozen scallops, truly amazing. And every time
- 1:13:36Speaker 5: I'm at the grocery store and I'm tempted to buy lobster,
- 1:13:39Speaker 5: I'm always like, God, you should just go buy lobster
- 1:13:41Speaker 5: at Costco.
- 1:13:42Speaker 2: Like, that's... There are some great, great items at Costco.
- 1:13:47Speaker 5: Um....
- 1:13:48Speaker 2: There were hundreds of teens that streamed out of an L.A. home.
- 1:13:51Speaker 4: It was in the valley after a bus party. And
- 1:13:54Speaker 4: all the comments were like, well, at least they're not
- 1:13:56Speaker 4: on their iPads.
- 1:13:58Speaker 5: Yes. The children going out and living in the world. Like,
- 1:14:01Speaker 5: we have teenagers who don't have sex or do drugs
- 1:14:04Speaker 5: or drink anymore. And it's nice to have these ancient
- 1:14:06Speaker 5: traditions held alive, you know?
- 1:14:08Speaker 2: I know. I'm like, I don't even think this is
- 1:14:10Speaker 2: that bad. I really don't. So are you watching The
- 1:14:14Speaker 2: Traitors now?
- 1:14:15Speaker 5: I'm watching The Traitors now.
- 1:14:16Speaker 2: And tell me what you think. Are you up to date?
- 1:14:19Speaker 5: I am up to date.
- 1:14:20Speaker 2: Okay, let's talk a little about that.
- 1:14:22Speaker 5: Well, the thing is I just watched season three, so
- 1:14:24Speaker 5: that's really alive in my mind. I really fell in
- 1:14:26Speaker 5: love with Gabby Windy. Yeah, she's great. During that. But
- 1:14:31Speaker 5: that Rob is steering things so effectively is kind of
- 1:14:35Speaker 5: crazy to me.
- 1:14:36Speaker 2: Is Rob from Survivor or what's he from?
- 1:14:40Speaker 5: No, he's from Love Island.
- 1:14:42Speaker 2: Oh, he's adorable.
- 1:14:43Speaker 5: One of the things I really like about traitors is
- 1:14:46Speaker 5: that these quieter personalities, these people who aren't from reality
- 1:14:51Speaker 5: competition shows or housewives, so frequently are the end game
- 1:14:55Speaker 5: and controlling things. And so I have real hope for
- 1:14:57Speaker 5: Kristen Kish from Top Chef. But when a traitor starts
- 1:15:03Speaker 5: blowing up another traitor's game and accusing them, Like, when
- 1:15:06Speaker 5: he went after her, I was really hoping that Lisa
- 1:15:09Speaker 5: would last for a while.
- 1:15:11Speaker 2: But you think she's too.
- 1:15:12Speaker 4: It's just a bummer because, like, yeah, she is so
- 1:15:14Speaker 4: fun to watch. Like, you know, and it's like, and
- 1:15:16Speaker 4: of course when you know them and when you don't
- 1:15:18Speaker 4: know them, like.
- 1:15:18Speaker 5: But also, it's her own damn fault for not being
- 1:15:20Speaker 5: Lisa Rinna, for being, like, because she was a traitor,
- 1:15:24Speaker 5: she was quiet. She wasn't being Lisa Rinna. And they
- 1:15:27Speaker 5: smelled that, you know?
- 1:15:28Speaker 2: Good point.
- 1:15:29Speaker 4: And then also I saw her do an interview and
- 1:15:31Speaker 4: she was like, I decided to go with a more, like...
- 1:15:34Speaker 4: gender fluid look throughout the whole thing so that's why
- 1:15:37Speaker 4: she was wearing like the combat boots.
- 1:15:40Speaker 2: And so i was thinking you know the outfits are so.
- 1:15:42Speaker 4: Ridiculous on everybody they come to breakfast and they come
- 1:15:45Speaker 4: and they wear gloves and i was always like oh
- 1:15:48Speaker 4: my god i guess if you're gonna go on that
- 1:15:49Speaker 4: show you really need to like get all your outfits
- 1:15:53Speaker 4: together just like if you're going on the bachelor or
- 1:15:55Speaker 4: whatever and have this is what i'm gonna wear like
- 1:15:57Speaker 4: all these days and all these different looks because, I mean,
- 1:16:01Speaker 4: you are on a show that everyone's gonna see you.
- 1:16:04Speaker 5: You know that for Drag Race, they famously take out
- 1:16:07Speaker 5: loans to get the outfits that they will need for
- 1:16:09Speaker 5: the show or get sugar daddies. But I don't understand
- 1:16:13Speaker 5: why when somebody, when a traitor is truly blowing you
- 1:16:17Speaker 5: up and you're also a traitor, why don't you just
- 1:16:20Speaker 5: say to the table, oh yes, He knows I'm a
- 1:16:24Speaker 5: traitor because we are both traitors. Like, I feel like
- 1:16:27Speaker 5: at that point you have to give them mutually assured
- 1:16:29Speaker 5: destruction or else you're going to give them the possibility
- 1:16:32Speaker 5: of just sliding through the way that like Rob did.
- 1:16:34Speaker 2: For a while. Okay.
- 1:16:35Speaker 4: So like if you, okay, so let's say I'm not
- 1:16:39Speaker 4: a traitor.
- 1:16:39Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:16:40Speaker 4: I am a faithful, but you're coming after me and
- 1:16:43Speaker 4: you're giving your, okay, we're on traitors and you're giving
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: your thing and you're saying, Heather, I think it's you
- 1:16:50Speaker 4: because you slipped and said whatever in the kitchen.
- 1:16:56Speaker 2: And I'm like, holy shit.
- 1:16:57Speaker 4: I think they're going to all vote for me because
- 1:16:59Speaker 4: Guy is so persuasive, you know, and everything. So then
- 1:17:02Speaker 4: you're saying something that hasn't been done that should be
- 1:17:06Speaker 4: done is I should be like, well, okay. yeah, you
- 1:17:11Speaker 4: know I'm a traitor because we're freaking traitors together. And
- 1:17:14Speaker 4: then he'd be like, no, I'm not. And then I'd
- 1:17:16Speaker 4: be like, so you're telling me that you and I
- 1:17:18Speaker 4: didn't just have our cloaks on.
- 1:17:20Speaker 5: I think you should only do that when you're a
- 1:17:22Speaker 5: traitor and another traitor is coming after you.
- 1:17:24Speaker 2: Okay.
- 1:17:24Speaker 5: And just sort of say like, well, if we're going
- 1:17:26Speaker 5: to do this, let's do this. That could be interesting
- 1:17:28Speaker 5: because the question is like, how do you save yourself
- 1:17:30Speaker 5: the next week? You know? And I think.
- 1:17:32Speaker 4: No, I'm saying if you're not a traitor, if you're
- 1:17:36Speaker 4: not a traitor and you are like... They kind of
- 1:17:39Speaker 4: know when their day is due, and it's like, yeah,
- 1:17:42Speaker 4: it would be kind of fun to blow it up.
- 1:17:44Speaker 5: It would be hard to dial it back if you
- 1:17:45Speaker 5: weren't a traitor and you said that you were. But yeah,
- 1:17:49Speaker 5: I just think there needs to be... I hate Boston Rob,
- 1:17:53Speaker 5: and watching Boston Rob sort of destroy people and sort
- 1:17:58Speaker 5: of walk through them and have everyone be scared really
- 1:18:01Speaker 5: sort of frustrated me. And so seeing Rob this season
- 1:18:06Speaker 5: take out... Lisa and then Candice in such succession.
- 1:18:10Speaker 4: You know what I also want to know, getting back
- 1:18:11Speaker 4: to the outfits, you know, because they, like, when they
- 1:18:13Speaker 4: went to, like, the party and stuff and, like, all
- 1:18:15Speaker 4: of a sudden Colton's wearing, like, crown and, like, pearls
- 1:18:18Speaker 4: and stuff. I need to know from someone who's worked
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: on Traders, do they meet with a stylist from the Traders? That's, like,
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: I'm going to help you put your 22 looks together.
- 1:18:29Speaker 5: I need to understand it together because, like.
- 1:18:31Speaker 2: And then you also don't... Ron Funches had the most
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: beautiful jacket on. No, I think they.
- 1:18:37Speaker 4: give you stylists through the show. Cause also they don't
- 1:18:40Speaker 4: want you to be jumping on someone else's look. So
- 1:18:42Speaker 4: it's like, we know Alan Cummings has all these different looks.
- 1:18:45Speaker 4: So I think there's like a head stylist that does
- 1:18:47Speaker 4: Alan and then it's kind of like, okay, you're working
- 1:18:50Speaker 4: with this person, you know, so let's have some fun
- 1:18:54Speaker 4: looks together. But like, I'm just thinking if I had
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: to do 20 looks, would I pick anything from my
- 1:18:59Speaker 4: old closet or would I want to start completely new?
- 1:19:02Speaker 5: Well, and also they do so much thematic stuff with
- 1:19:04Speaker 5: the tweed and everything that you have to assume that
- 1:19:06Speaker 5: that stuff is like coming from their wardrobe department.
- 1:19:09Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:19:09Speaker 5: Though I do believe Dorinda has that much tweed.
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:13Speaker 4: Dorinda hasn't been in it much. So we'll see how,
- 1:19:16Speaker 4: how much she makes it through. But I do skim
- 1:19:20Speaker 4: a little bit through like the challenges and stuff. I,
- 1:19:22Speaker 4: but I, I love just watching the breakfast and then
- 1:19:25Speaker 4: the thing at the end.
- 1:19:26Speaker 5: Like, I just think it's joyous.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: And it always makes you really hungry for breakfast.
- 1:19:30Speaker 6: Yes.
- 1:19:30Speaker 4: Even if we're watching it at like 9.30 at night,
- 1:19:31Speaker 4: I'm like, I want some really good toast.
- 1:19:35Speaker 6: Rob.
- 1:19:35Speaker 2: Some tea.
- 1:19:36Speaker 5: At the banquet, eating boiled eggs in a single bite
- 1:19:40Speaker 5: was truly, like, it was hot.
- 1:19:44Speaker 2: Like, it was.
- 1:19:45Speaker 5: Okay.
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: Well, let's do, you've been doing a really fun thing
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: on your Instagram.
- 1:19:49Speaker 4: Yes.
- 1:19:49Speaker 2: Which I love. love. And how did you think of it?
- 1:19:53Speaker 5: I didn't think of it. So I have been working
- 1:19:55Speaker 5: with this very funny comic named Tori Piskin. She's better
- 1:19:58Speaker 5: at editing videos and stuff than I am. And we've
- 1:20:02Speaker 5: been going out and doing man on the street stuff
- 1:20:04Speaker 5: in West Hollywood. And I was spending so much time
- 1:20:06Speaker 5: explaining some aspect of gay culture to her that she
- 1:20:09Speaker 5: was like, you should do a thing called only the
- 1:20:11Speaker 5: old gays remember. And then we ended up doing it.
- 1:20:14Speaker 5: And she just sort of like pitched some ideas at me.
- 1:20:15Speaker 5: She was like, what's the first sex tape you remember?
- 1:20:19Speaker 5: And I talked about the Rob Lowe thing and I
- 1:20:21Speaker 5: didn't realize like a lot of people were scandalized that
- 1:20:24Speaker 5: I had done that because I didn't realize that one
- 1:20:25Speaker 5: of the women he was with was 16. She was
- 1:20:29Speaker 5: 16 or 17. But like I was like 10 when
- 1:20:33Speaker 5: it happened or whatever. And so to me, it was
- 1:20:35Speaker 5: just like two women having sex with each other. Why
- 1:20:38Speaker 5: would they do that?
- 1:20:39Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:20:41Speaker 5: Yeah. And just sort of like other things that are.
- 1:20:43Speaker 5: Not some of them are sort of like queer moments,
- 1:20:46Speaker 5: but they're just sort of like iconic things that matter.
- 1:20:48Speaker 5: Like what else? Like, you know, when Celine came for
- 1:20:52Speaker 5: Aretha at VH1 Divas Live, I did one.
- 1:20:55Speaker 2: What did she say? I don't even know that story.
- 1:20:57Speaker 5: She just like they were all singing. You make me
- 1:21:00Speaker 5: feel like a natural woman. And Aretha was like, you know,
- 1:21:05Speaker 5: doing riffs and everything. And everyone was very deferential. and
- 1:21:08Speaker 5: Celine was like, I'm gonna out-sing Aretha, and it was
- 1:21:13Speaker 5: dazzling and amazing to see them try to out-sing each other.
- 1:21:17Speaker 5: Or we did one recently that was just like remember smoking.
- 1:21:22Speaker 5: Like remember when you were at a bar and you
- 1:21:25Speaker 5: didn't want to talk to anyone, instead of looking at
- 1:21:27Speaker 5: your phone, you would smoke.
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: I just saw something like, how old are you? Or
- 1:21:33Speaker 4: do you remember when there was a smoking area at
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: the high school?
- 1:21:36Speaker 5: Yes. I mean, we did not have one.
- 1:21:39Speaker 2: We had a.
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: Religious retreat that everyone still does called Kairos in the
- 1:21:44Speaker 4: Catholic high schools and stuff. And they said, since we
- 1:21:48Speaker 4: were seniors, they said, if you want and you're a smoker,
- 1:21:52Speaker 4: you can smoke during this religious retreat.
- 1:21:55Speaker 5: Amazing.
- 1:21:56Speaker 2: I could not believe it. Yeah. I mean, crazy that
- 1:22:01Speaker 2: kids are smoking.
- 1:22:03Speaker 5: It was like even when I was in the dorms
- 1:22:06Speaker 5: at Berkeley, there were ashtrays out on the balconies.
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: They were like ashtrays built in cars, remember?
- 1:22:15Speaker 5: Yes. No, that was like- Airplane.
- 1:22:17Speaker 4: Everybody on an airplane, were they still on the ashtray?
- 1:22:19Speaker 4: Then you're like, why am I on this plane? It's terrifying.
- 1:22:22Speaker 5: The plane technology has not changed in the last 30 years.
- 1:22:25Speaker 5: It bothers me. Why do the controls look the same
- 1:22:28Speaker 5: now as when I first got on a plane in 1982?
- 1:22:32Speaker 2: Okay, what's another gay, old gay?
- 1:22:34Speaker 5: Just did one about, okay, this one was great. Luther Vandross.
- 1:22:39Speaker 5: So like iconic diva closeted. Patti LaBelle came out for
- 1:22:44Speaker 5: him on Watch What Happens Live 20 years after he died.
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: But he had En Vogue opening for him.
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: What do you mean came out for him?
- 1:22:52Speaker 5: Like she, like Andy Cohen asked, was Luther gay? And
- 1:22:55Speaker 5: she was like, yes, Luther was gay. He couldn't talk
- 1:22:57Speaker 5: about it, blah, blah, blah. But like he would, he had,
- 1:23:00Speaker 5: en vogue opening for him in like 1989 and he
- 1:23:03Speaker 5: told them that they weren't allowed to wear any white
- 1:23:05Speaker 5: red blue or black or anything that had sequins or
- 1:23:10Speaker 5: that caught the light because his singers needed to be
- 1:23:12Speaker 5: the only thing that were like visually arresting on the
- 1:23:15Speaker 5: stage And so they broke that rule and he got
- 1:23:19Speaker 5: mad at them and they were like, Luther, we're a
- 1:23:21Speaker 5: girl group. And he was like, I am a girl group.
- 1:23:24Speaker 5: And then he was so mad at them that he
- 1:23:26Speaker 5: said that they could not walk past his dressing room.
- 1:23:28Speaker 5: And then one day they did. They had to go
- 1:23:30Speaker 5: out and take a golf cart around to the front
- 1:23:32Speaker 5: of the venue and enter with the public to perform.
- 1:23:36Speaker 5: And one day they did come by his dressing room.
- 1:23:38Speaker 5: And then when they got off stage, he had called
- 1:23:40Speaker 5: the Miami Police Department because they were trespassing.
- 1:23:44Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: Oh, my God. That's amazing.
- 1:23:47Speaker 5: He was just an iconic diva. And there's a really
- 1:23:49Speaker 5: good documentary about him on HBO. And it's so clearly
- 1:23:52Speaker 5: a person who because he was gay and black and
- 1:23:56Speaker 5: very fat, like the industry didn't know how to like
- 1:24:01Speaker 5: accept him. But he was so talented. And that turned
- 1:24:03Speaker 5: into this like. diva instinct to always you know in
- 1:24:07Speaker 5: a world that didn't respect him he demanded the respect
- 1:24:09Speaker 5: that he thought he deserved and I think that's amazing
- 1:24:12Speaker 5: and I think it's important to you know remember these
- 1:24:15Speaker 5: juicy moments.
- 1:24:16Speaker 4: I definitely think it's different um I think it's very,
- 1:24:21Speaker 4: I think it's very funny, serious. Cause it really is
- 1:24:23Speaker 4: very specific to your point of view. And like those stories,
- 1:24:27Speaker 4: I thought I knew every story, but that story wouldn't
- 1:24:29Speaker 4: hit me the way it would hit you.
- 1:24:31Speaker 5: So, but it's like, the thing is, is when we
- 1:24:33Speaker 5: were working together, the things that we bonded over were
- 1:24:35Speaker 5: sort of these like little nuggets and moments of pop
- 1:24:38Speaker 5: culture history that not everybody remembered, but like we're indelibly
- 1:24:42Speaker 5: like on our brains. Um, I recently rewatched, uh, on YouTube,
- 1:24:48Speaker 5: there's the Donahue of the cast of Steel Magnolias. And
- 1:24:52Speaker 5: it's just like, it's one of the greatest moments that
- 1:24:54Speaker 5: we've ever had in popular culture. Just those four iconic
- 1:25:00Speaker 5: ladies being friends. And like, Donahue is so condescending to
- 1:25:04Speaker 5: Julia Roberts every time. He's like, look, you with Shirley MacLaine.
- 1:25:07Speaker 5: Can you believe that? 19 year olds.
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: It's so great when you, so when you see like
- 1:25:13Speaker 4: old clips of how weird everyone is, like, or towards
- 1:25:16Speaker 4: like Brooke Shields. yes when they're just like or or
- 1:25:20Speaker 4: towards justin um bieber oh like did you that clip
- 1:25:25Speaker 4: where um who's the guy that did karaoke james corden
- 1:25:29Speaker 4: yeah and how he's like grabbing him and smelling him
- 1:25:33Speaker 4: what is the deal with james corden.
- 1:25:35Speaker 5: Like i don't know like i i met like i
- 1:25:39Speaker 5: met to work on a show a couple of times
- 1:25:41Speaker 5: they gave me an offer and i was like.
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: I can't um When he had his late night show? Yes.
- 1:25:46Speaker 5: But he seemed like a very interesting energy because it
- 1:25:49Speaker 5: was very bro-y, but also like theater kid-y. And I
- 1:25:53Speaker 5: could never like get a finger on what his deal was.
- 1:25:56Speaker 2: I just always remember this was a story, so it's
- 1:26:00Speaker 2: a legend.
- 1:26:01Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:26:02Speaker 4: But that he was on a plane in first class.
- 1:26:07Speaker 4: And there was a woman there that had a couple
- 1:26:09Speaker 4: kids also in first class. And she was struggling to
- 1:26:13Speaker 4: get situated. And him being the star was, like, you know,
- 1:26:17Speaker 4: very annoyed.
- 1:26:18Speaker 5: Yes.
- 1:26:18Speaker 4: That there's, like, you know, little kids in first class
- 1:26:21Speaker 4: and everything. And someone was, like, observing him, like, I
- 1:26:23Speaker 4: know you're the star of this late night show, but, like,
- 1:26:26Speaker 4: have some humanity.
- 1:26:27Speaker 2: Anyway, it was his wife and kids.
- 1:26:29Speaker 5: That's very funny. That's very funny. You know, there's a
- 1:26:32Speaker 5: clear answer to when you have rowdy children in first class.
- 1:26:36Speaker 5: Class of champagne.
- 1:26:36Speaker 2: You know? For them and for you.
- 1:26:41Speaker 5: Put them right to sleep.
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: Yeah. Anyway, Guy, tell us what else you have going on.
- 1:26:46Speaker 5: So I'm doing my solo show, Be Fruitful, at Netflix's
- 1:26:48Speaker 5: Is It Joke Fest.
- 1:26:50Speaker 2: I think you're doing it the same night as me.
- 1:26:52Speaker 5: May 9th?
- 1:26:53Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:26:54Speaker 5: Oh, okay. What are you doing?
- 1:26:55Speaker 4: Mine is a live Juicy Scoop at Avalon on May
- 1:26:59Speaker 4: 9th at 7 p.m.
- 1:27:00Speaker 5: Oh, that's going to be— well, no, mine is at 8 p.m.
- 1:27:03Speaker 5: But Avalon, that's going to be amazing. Yes.
- 1:27:07Speaker 4: So if you didn't get tickets to mine and you'd
- 1:27:09Speaker 4: like to go to something, go see Guy.
- 1:27:11Speaker 5: The important thing is I also have some dates at
- 1:27:13Speaker 5: Lyric Hyperion in March. So you should come to those
- 1:27:15Speaker 5: and go to Heather's for Juicy Scoop.
- 1:27:18Speaker 2: Well, I think mine, I don't know if there's tickets
- 1:27:20Speaker 2: left or not.
- 1:27:21Speaker 5: Okay, she's sold out. She's doing fine.
- 1:27:23Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:27:24Speaker 4: And I'm just saying it's fun to go to a
- 1:27:26Speaker 4: lot of different shows that week.
- 1:27:28Speaker 2: Yeah. And, well, that's exciting. That's what you wanted.
- 1:27:32Speaker 1: Yes.
- 1:27:32Speaker 2: But, you know, you really wanted the Edinburgh thing, right?
- 1:27:35Speaker 5: Edinburgh, yes.
- 1:27:36Speaker 2: And I said it wrong. It's okay. How do you
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: say it? Edinburgh.
- 1:27:39Speaker 4: Edinburgh.
- 1:27:40Speaker 2: And what are you getting?
- 1:27:42Speaker 5: I'm going in August.
- 1:27:43Speaker 2: Oh, you are? Yes. So it's the whole month. You
- 1:27:46Speaker 2: do it the whole month.
- 1:27:47Speaker 5: You do it the whole month.
- 1:27:48Speaker 2: Oh, what did you find about that? Like a couple
- 1:27:51Speaker 2: of weeks ago. Well, congratulations.
- 1:27:53Speaker 5: Thanks.
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: So you live there for a month. Yes. And you
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: do it every night.
- 1:27:58Speaker 5: Under horrible conditions. Like there's no air conditioning.
- 1:28:01Speaker 4: It's like a weird little, but are there a bunch
- 1:28:03Speaker 4: of shows at the same time?
- 1:28:04Speaker 5: Yes. There are like 4,000 shows going on across the city.
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: And do you do yours in the same theater every
- 1:28:10Speaker 2: night or do you bounce around?
- 1:28:11Speaker 5: Same theater every night. Though apparently you like go and
- 1:28:13Speaker 5: do other people's shows and that kind of thing.
- 1:28:16Speaker 2: And why should you do other people's shows if you're
- 1:28:18Speaker 2: doing your own.
- 1:28:19Speaker 5: Because you're only doing it for one hour you go
- 1:28:20Speaker 5: do it after.
- 1:28:21Speaker 2: Or before and is that to just get it to
- 1:28:23Speaker 2: a place that's like so amazing I mean.
- 1:28:26Speaker 5: It's already in a good place it's to like really
- 1:28:28Speaker 5: hone it like to get it really really sharp and
- 1:28:31Speaker 5: hopefully get some good reviews and buzz so I can
- 1:28:34Speaker 5: bring it back here and like you know.
- 1:28:37Speaker 2: And so where will you live that month?
- 1:28:39Speaker 5: Housing is like the hardest part like getting good housing
- 1:28:43Speaker 5: like a lot of people like live in the University
- 1:28:45Speaker 5: of Edinburgh dorms and stuff like that I will probably
- 1:28:49Speaker 5: see if I can spend too much money to get
- 1:28:51Speaker 5: like an Airbnb that for like four times what it
- 1:28:54Speaker 5: should be.
- 1:28:54Speaker 2: You absolutely should.
