- 0:01Speaker 1: Jary Kady and Josh Mix one hundred.
- 0:04Speaker 2: I got a couple of stories about the zers. Gen Z,
- 0:07Speaker 2: you give us so much material. Thank you, guys.
- 0:10Speaker 1: According to a new report, gen zs are trying to
- 0:13Speaker 1: enhance their workplace culture with something that they are calling microjoys.
- 0:22Speaker 3: My job has so many micro joys.
- 0:24Speaker 4: Okay, so like looking on the bright side, but they
- 0:26Speaker 4: gave it a fancy word it.
- 0:32Speaker 2: I mean, going, is this great? Because I have micro
- 0:34Speaker 2: journeys on me vision Bird.
- 0:36Speaker 1: So it's small moments throughout the day that make your
- 0:39Speaker 1: work day more enjoyable, productive, and sustainable.
- 0:44Speaker 2: So they surveyed about five hundred.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Zers between the ages of eighteen and twenty five, and
- 0:49Speaker 1: they said taking short breaks makes my work day more
- 0:53Speaker 1: enjoyable and it helps me perform better.
- 0:58Speaker 4: Snacks snacks, hoping they'd be on the list because that
- 1:02Speaker 4: was mine.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Snacks is a micro joy for me. But they have
- 1:06Speaker 1: to be like really small chips, because it's micro joy
- 1:09Speaker 1: stepping outside for fresh air, chatting with your cool coworkers,
- 1:16Speaker 1: or enjoying our favorite beverage.
- 1:19Speaker 3: See little things I like that.
- 1:21Speaker 1: Not completing a task or you know, being with a
- 1:25Speaker 1: company for twenty.
- 1:26Speaker 3: Years, those are just things have to work.
- 1:28Speaker 4: But if you can really have a basket of chips
- 1:31Speaker 4: in the kitchen, if you can enjoy moments like that
- 1:34Speaker 4: throughout the day, I feel like you are living at
- 1:36Speaker 4: life because that is the secret to life. I don't
- 1:38Speaker 4: know if you know this, but is Michael joy enjoy
- 1:41Speaker 4: the passing of time. That is the secret to life
- 1:44Speaker 4: is to be able to really enjoy the moment that
- 1:46Speaker 4: you're in right now, me in this room with you,
- 1:48Speaker 4: two fine gentlemen.
- 1:50Speaker 3: I'm enjoying this. I'm enjoying this.
- 1:52Speaker 1: My moment is when the show's over now I have
- 1:54Speaker 1: to see you till tomorrow morning. That's my micro joy.
- 1:58Speaker 1: When I walk out the front doors, I'm like, no more,
- 2:01Speaker 1: no more.
- 2:03Speaker 3: But you love it, You love it. It's micro joy.
- 2:09Speaker 1: We don't really have a lot of micro joys here though,
- 2:11Speaker 1: do we do?
- 2:12Speaker 3: There are snoopsicles in the freezer right now. That is
- 2:15Speaker 3: a micro.
- 2:20Speaker 1: Jordan that we talked to in our promotions Department's microy.
- 2:24Speaker 4: She's a major joy for me. I love Jordan's. So yeah,
- 2:28Speaker 4: we we have a lot of joy in this building.
- 2:30Speaker 3: You just gotta look for.
- 2:31Speaker 1: I have joy joy joy down in my heart, down
- 2:34Speaker 1: in my heart.
- 2:35Speaker 2: Today, I got another Z story for you.
- 2:39Speaker 1: Uh, the alcohol industry is actually kind of struggling right now.
- 2:42Speaker 1: I saw something about how I was down like eight
- 2:44Speaker 1: hundred billion dollars or something because the zers aren't out drinking.
- 2:48Speaker 2: But they've got a cute little name.
- 2:50Speaker 1: If they do go out and have a cocktail, they
- 2:52Speaker 1: call it sober curious.
- 2:56Speaker 2: I'm just sober.
- 2:57Speaker 3: Curious buzzworthy phrase, so that.
- 2:59Speaker 1: That does mean that generally they're not drinking, but if
- 3:03Speaker 1: they do go out and have something, they're looking for
- 3:06Speaker 1: quality over quantity. So they're gonna go out and they're
- 3:10Speaker 1: curious about what y'all are drinking. But you gotta really
- 3:13Speaker 1: wow me with the cocktail. So it's more of a
- 3:16Speaker 1: high end probably in a fancy glass with a whole
- 3:19Speaker 1: bunch of fruit and a pretty sparkly straw.
- 3:22Speaker 4: Well, and businesses took notice because that's why they're charging
- 3:25Speaker 4: thirty dollars for a cocktail.
- 3:27Speaker 2: Lost revenue.
- 3:28Speaker 4: Yeah, Well, and they know that they'll pay for it
- 3:30Speaker 4: because if they're only getting one and it's gotta be
- 3:32Speaker 4: worth it thirty dollars for it.
- 3:35Speaker 1: Today my micro joy was being sober curious.
- 3:39Speaker 4: Yeah, but it's funny too, because it's like they know
- 3:41Speaker 4: what they're talking about because they've seen all the warnings
- 3:45Speaker 4: about alcohol. I mean there's one today about regular alcohol
- 3:49Speaker 4: use and how it could ac celebrate brain aging, and
- 3:52Speaker 4: that is by like disrupting your sleep and your brain function.
- 3:55Speaker 4: I mean, anyone knows if you like get a little tipsy, right,
- 3:59Speaker 4: and then you say you pass out, you're really not sleeping.
- 4:02Speaker 3: That is not quality sleep.
- 4:03Speaker 4: You're only passing out, gonna wake up dehydrated, completely worn out. Uh,
- 4:10Speaker 4: And it can really like do damage on all of
- 4:13Speaker 4: the things in your body. And the younger generation figured
- 4:16Speaker 4: that out. I believe it's because the Internet told them
- 4:18Speaker 4: their whole life, right. We didn't necessarily had that. We
- 4:20Speaker 4: had all the commercials telling us how fun it was,
- 4:23Speaker 4: how you're gonna mess out if you don't to the
- 4:25Speaker 4: speech party and everyone's in bikinis, Like you're gonna miss
- 4:28Speaker 4: out on the fun stuff life.
- 4:29Speaker 3: That's what we were told.
- 4:31Speaker 4: They were told that it's gonna shorten their lifespan, that
- 4:34Speaker 4: they're not gonna be and it's expensive, and they listened
- 4:37Speaker 4: because again, yeah, that this new one just coming out,
- 4:40Speaker 4: it's gonna aid your brain way faster than what you think.
- 4:43Speaker 2: It is you stop drinking.
- 4:44Speaker 3: Oh my god, could you imagine?
- 4:48Speaker 1: I'll be honest with you, I've cut out like all alcohol,
- 4:52Speaker 1: and I plan on moving forward here with I don't.
- 4:55Speaker 2: Think I'm gonna honestly drink anymore. Yeah, I don't, really,
- 4:58Speaker 2: I don't. I don't think.
- 4:59Speaker 1: So I've got I've got an anniversary thing planned for
- 5:02Speaker 1: me and Nick Knack that involves me like some wine
- 5:06Speaker 1: tasting and stuff, and I'm trying to decide if I'm
- 5:08Speaker 1: gonna even participate, if we're gonna do something else well.
- 5:10Speaker 4: And it's funny just to think about. Like for me,
- 5:13Speaker 4: it'll be nine years since I drank anything.
- 5:16Speaker 3: And I really call.
- 5:17Speaker 4: It the Forest Gump effect because I the more I
- 5:20Speaker 4: did it, the longer I went without it, I realized
- 5:23Speaker 4: how great my body feels.
- 5:24Speaker 3: And I kept telling myself, well, this far.
- 5:27Speaker 1: As well came out that literally is yeah, line.
- 5:31Speaker 3: Kept going with it, and it has just served me
- 5:34Speaker 3: so well.
- 5:35Speaker 2: So the best decision you make.
- 5:37Speaker 1: It's so true, like like when you get to your
- 5:40Speaker 1: advanced age, Katie, there are times when you wake up
- 5:44Speaker 1: in the morning after you've had one too many, and
- 5:46Speaker 1: it truly is like three days of like I am
- 5:50Speaker 1: just off and I don't feel good.
- 5:51Speaker 2: You're dying, and I'm tired of having the recovery time.
- 5:55Speaker 1: I know it doesn't sound cool like, oh, I didn't
- 5:57Speaker 1: go out and party and then get drunk. I just
- 6:00Speaker 1: don't want the recovery time anymore.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I don't have time for that.
- 6:03Speaker 3: You don't even have to be ancient like you, Jeremy,
- 6:05Speaker 3: look at this.
- 6:07Speaker 2: Throwing it back. It's the only thing you're throwing back.
- 6:14Speaker 1: All right, shout out to all the gen Zers listening
- 6:17Speaker 1: this morning. All right, we are going to be talking
- 6:19Speaker 1: about right now the weird things that you've seen at
- 6:22Speaker 1: somebody's house. Phone lines are already ringing. I'm wondering if
- 6:25Speaker 1: we already get calls, and Katie, you've got some stories
- 6:28Speaker 1: to set us up right.
- 6:29Speaker 4: Okay, because that's the thing is you You have heard
- 6:33Speaker 4: some of the things I've seen in men's homes just.
- 6:35Speaker 2: On this show, right generally other women.
- 6:37Speaker 4: We've already talked about the crazy things I've seen, but
- 6:40Speaker 4: I've never alluded to this one, which I don't think.
- 6:43Speaker 4: I don't think you're ready for this, Jeremy, I don't
- 6:45Speaker 4: think you are all right. Hold me back, okay, because
- 6:48Speaker 4: it has kind of set me up for my whole
- 6:50Speaker 4: life to be just anxious about this setting because this happened.
- 6:54Speaker 3: I was like nineteen.
- 6:55Speaker 4: This is before the baby Nanas is before I dated
- 6:58Speaker 4: her dad. I mean, I was young when this happened,
- 7:00Speaker 4: and I was dating this guy named Tanner, right, and
- 7:03Speaker 4: it was time for me to go back to Tanner's
- 7:05Speaker 4: home and see what it was all about. Right, And
- 7:08Speaker 4: I walked into Tanner's room, and I am not kidding.
- 7:12Speaker 4: There is a full replica size thing of a paper
- 7:15Speaker 4: mache tree, right. And in this paper mache tree that's
- 7:19Speaker 4: almost as big as the room. The middle is cut
- 7:22Speaker 4: out right like the hole in the tree. And in
- 7:25Speaker 4: that hole in the tree there is a curtain so
- 7:29Speaker 4: you can pull it back and have your very own
- 7:31Speaker 4: puppet show.
- 7:34Speaker 2: Well you win, We're start out now.
- 7:40Speaker 5: I could not let my words, couldn't come to my face.
- 7:43Speaker 5: I was like what, And here's the story from it.
- 7:47Speaker 5: This is like a childhood thing of Tanner's that.
- 7:50Speaker 4: His mom like he just loved, and his mom and
- 7:53Speaker 4: dad were talking about getting rid of his puppet show
- 7:55Speaker 4: tree and he wasn't having it. So the puppet show
- 7:59Speaker 4: tree to his house and had it in his bedroom.
- 8:02Speaker 5: And then he's like, do you want me to do
- 8:05Speaker 5: a puppet show for you?
- 8:06Speaker 6: Oh?
- 8:07Speaker 2: Like I was just like, did you say yes?
- 8:10Speaker 3: I don't think I came.
- 8:11Speaker 2: I would have said yes all day long.
- 8:13Speaker 4: No no, no, no no. I kind of broke up with
- 8:15Speaker 4: Tanner right then and there. I was just I can't
- 8:17Speaker 4: even come.
- 8:18Speaker 1: I wish you know you should have done is put
- 8:19Speaker 1: a puppet on your handbacker.
- 8:21Speaker 3: I don't anymore.
- 8:23Speaker 7: This is over.
- 8:24Speaker 3: It's not me, it's you and your puppet. Try. It
- 8:30Speaker 3: totally threw me off.
- 8:31Speaker 4: So now anytime I go into a man's room, I'm
- 8:34Speaker 4: just anticipating that there's going to be a paper machee
- 8:36Speaker 4: tree in there with a bunch of puppets.
- 8:38Speaker 2: You get all cry before you even it.
- 8:41Speaker 3: Was so bad.
- 8:42Speaker 4: So yeah, set me up for a lifetime of romance fails,
- 8:46Speaker 4: I've learned now in hindsight.
- 8:48Speaker 2: But yeah, you're scarred from the paper mache pretty good. Right,
- 8:52Speaker 2: Oh my god, I love that story. That is a
- 8:54Speaker 2: new one.
- 8:54Speaker 3: Thank you for that, one of many, many, many things.
- 8:58Speaker 1: All right, So do you have something that you were like,
- 9:01Speaker 1: what the frick when you walked into somebody's house and
- 9:06Speaker 1: saw it? We want to hear from you guys three
- 9:08Speaker 1: three six nine one, sixteen forty nine. Three oh three
- 9:12Speaker 1: six nine one, sixteen forty nine. There was a Christine
- 9:17Speaker 1: that rode in while we were teasing this and said
- 9:19Speaker 1: she dated a guy who had a fish tank, a
- 9:21Speaker 1: large fish tank in his living room, but it was
- 9:24Speaker 1: completely filled with empty mountain dew cans. She went over
- 9:28Speaker 1: to his house, she was not a fish in site,
- 9:31Speaker 1: but the whole thing was filled with empty mountain dew cans.
- 9:34Speaker 2: That guy is a keeper right there. At least. There
- 9:39Speaker 2: was a Jinny I think your.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Name was Jenny Ginny wrote in as well and said
- 9:42Speaker 1: she was at a friend's house and she went into
- 9:45Speaker 1: the bathroom and he had a full size freezer in
- 9:48Speaker 1: his bathroom for some reason, and he said it wouldn't
- 9:51Speaker 1: fit like down the stairs to his basement or something,
- 9:53Speaker 1: and it had to go in the.
- 9:55Speaker 2: Bathroom, so that's where it goes. So that's where it was.
- 9:59Speaker 1: What did did you see in somebody's house that was
- 10:02Speaker 1: really really weird? Three oh three six nine one, sixteen
- 10:06Speaker 1: forty nine. I'm gonna go ahead and take Danielle's call really
- 10:08Speaker 1: quick because she's.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Been holding the minute.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Hi Danielle, Hi, Hi, good morning. Okay, what did you see?
- 10:15Speaker 6: Okay, Now, this happened when I was in middle school.
- 10:18Speaker 6: I'm like, like over thirty years ago. I'm old. Anyway,
- 10:23Speaker 6: Oh my gosh, this is like the grossest thing ever.
- 10:26Speaker 6: So my sister and I we were going to spend
- 10:28Speaker 6: the night at our friend's house. Right, So we go
- 10:31Speaker 6: over to her house and we're all excited and stuff,
- 10:33Speaker 6: and then she takes us into her room. My sister
- 10:36Speaker 6: and I look at each other like what the heck?
- 10:40Speaker 6: We were freaked out because on her wall, like I'm
- 10:43Speaker 6: serious even telling you this, I'm like, oh, like she
- 10:46Speaker 6: had she had a pair of underwear stapled to her
- 10:51Speaker 6: wall and it looked like she had had her monthly
- 10:54Speaker 6: in them.
- 10:55Speaker 2: Oh, come.
- 10:58Speaker 6: Said serious, no, Las, And my sister said it she
- 11:02Speaker 6: just came out. She was like what the hell is that?
- 11:05Speaker 6: And I was like, I can't believe she said that.
- 11:07Speaker 6: So we were.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Like tiptoe around this because I don't know who's listening,
- 11:13Speaker 1: but keep it PG.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Gross but gross.
- 11:18Speaker 8: It was so gross.
- 11:19Speaker 2: Why did she do that?
- 11:20Speaker 3: The reason she.
- 11:22Speaker 6: Said, because my sister asked, she said it was because
- 11:26Speaker 6: she was so proud of herself. Okay, So I was
- 11:30Speaker 6: like proud of you.
- 11:30Speaker 1: It was like a memory, like she's like I become
- 11:32Speaker 1: a woman maybe type thing.
- 11:34Speaker 6: Yes, so my sister faked being sick and my mom
- 11:37Speaker 6: came to picked us up and we never went over
- 11:40Speaker 6: to our house.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't think i'd have to fake.
- 11:44Speaker 6: That she gave us. There you go.
- 11:47Speaker 1: That's a big Daniel That is almost as shocking as
- 11:50Speaker 1: the paper mache tree. You know, right, I don't even
- 11:55Speaker 1: know if it's beat that, but that's a good one. Danielle,
- 11:57Speaker 1: thank you so much for calling in.
- 11:59Speaker 2: We appreciate you.
- 12:01Speaker 1: What did you see at somebody's house that, like Danielle said, gave.
- 12:05Speaker 3: You the Yeah, that'll do it though.
- 12:08Speaker 1: John said, I went to a co worker's house and
- 12:10Speaker 1: noticed they had over two hundred TV remotes and a
- 12:13Speaker 1: big rubber made bin. They somehow got into collecting TV
- 12:17Speaker 1: remotes from garage sales.
- 12:18Speaker 2: That is very, very weird.
- 12:20Speaker 3: That is weird.
- 12:23Speaker 2: Jimmy, Jimmy, Jimmy, was it Jimmy? They might have been
- 12:25Speaker 2: a Jimmy.
- 12:26Speaker 1: My girlfriend had a giant collection of hotel room bibles
- 12:30Speaker 1: in her place. She admitted that she takes one from
- 12:33Speaker 1: almost every hotel she's ever stayed in. She had stacks
- 12:36Speaker 1: and stacks of Bibles in her room.
- 12:38Speaker 3: That's an ironic thing to steal, isn't it.
- 12:40Speaker 2: That's that's a really, really weird one.
- 12:44Speaker 3: I'm really gonna send today.
- 12:47Speaker 1: Cathy wrote in and said, my boyfriend a long time
- 12:49Speaker 1: ago had a giant map of the United States on
- 12:52Speaker 1: his wall in his apartment, and he had push pins
- 12:55Speaker 1: in it and it marked every taco bell he had
- 12:59Speaker 1: ever eaten. He's looking for some of that diarrhea.
- 13:04Speaker 3: I like that.
- 13:06Speaker 1: Yeah, phones are ringing, so three O, three, six nine one,
- 13:09Speaker 1: sixteen forty nine. What's the weirdest thing you've seen at
- 13:11Speaker 1: somebody's house? It's mercury, Hi, Mercury.
- 13:14Speaker 9: Hi, guys, good morning, Hey, good morning.
- 13:16Speaker 2: What's the weirdest thing you've ever seen?
- 13:19Speaker 9: Okay, and this is this was when I was little
- 13:21Speaker 9: with my little brother, we used to live with our
- 13:23Speaker 9: aunt and when we first actually went to go walk
- 13:26Speaker 9: into her house for the first time, we had seen
- 13:29Speaker 9: all all her walls, in the bathroom and the kitchen, everywhere,
- 13:32Speaker 9: these porcelain dolls.
- 13:35Speaker 4: No no, no, murder death cute in the bathroom, murder death.
- 13:39Speaker 9: Cue what yes, even in the bathroom. I'm just like
- 13:42Speaker 9: I have my art. Why do you have these everywhere?
- 13:44Speaker 9: You're like, I love having my collection, I love showing
- 13:46Speaker 9: it off. I'm like, well, we don't like it. It's
- 13:47Speaker 9: it's creepy and weird.
- 13:48Speaker 2: It's super creepy.
- 13:51Speaker 9: So I swear I felt like one of them followed
- 13:53Speaker 9: me one day, you know, yeah, actually turned my back.
- 13:56Speaker 1: Well well like in the bathroom too, like all those
- 13:59Speaker 1: eyes looking at Yeah, I think I'd have shy bladder.
- 14:02Speaker 2: I wouldn't be able to go.
- 14:04Speaker 9: When I was tall enough to reach them. I actually
- 14:06Speaker 9: took them off the self, actually threw them in and
- 14:10Speaker 9: I was done that put them back.
- 14:11Speaker 2: You know what's funny.
- 14:12Speaker 1: I was going to ask you if you actually, like
- 14:13Speaker 1: ever took one, like took one home, or hit them
- 14:16Speaker 1: or turn them around, because I totally would.
- 14:19Speaker 9: Other than that, it was like I was afraid to
- 14:20Speaker 9: touch them. I was afraid they were, you know, do
- 14:22Speaker 9: something to me or you know, curse me or something.
- 14:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I want to talk to Holly here on the
- 14:26Speaker 1: second she's she's holding on the line. In a second,
- 14:30Speaker 1: did your did your aunt?
- 14:32Speaker 9: I'm still here?
- 14:35Speaker 2: Okay?
- 14:36Speaker 6: Yes?
- 14:36Speaker 2: Has she willed down the dolls? What's gonna happen to
- 14:40Speaker 2: the dolls.
- 14:42Speaker 9: I hope that she didn't wiell them down where, because
- 14:43Speaker 9: if you did, I was like, I'm gonna make sure.
- 14:45Speaker 9: I'm im gonna make sure they're buried in the ground.
- 14:48Speaker 3: I buried with you.
- 14:49Speaker 1: Okay, that's mercury. Thank you so much. That's a very
- 14:52Speaker 1: funny call.
- 14:53Speaker 4: Good one.
- 14:54Speaker 2: Hi Holly called back, Hi.
- 14:55Speaker 1: Holly, hello him.
- 14:58Speaker 2: Well we're really good. I saw your story and I
- 15:00Speaker 2: was bummed that you dropped off.
- 15:01Speaker 1: But please tell us about the weirdest thing you've seen
- 15:03Speaker 1: in somebody's house.
- 15:05Speaker 7: So a while back, I had a friend and they
- 15:08Speaker 7: had a family dog that I was super familiar with,
- 15:11Speaker 7: and I stand up for about fifteen years and.
- 15:16Speaker 8: The dog passed away, and it was it was it
- 15:18Speaker 8: was so sad, and you know, so I had hadn't
- 15:22Speaker 8: gone over there, you know, for like a year, but
- 15:25Speaker 8: I went over to their house and the dog is
- 15:28Speaker 8: sitting on the couch and I'm like, I just kind
- 15:32Speaker 8: of took me aback, and then.
- 15:34Speaker 7: She said, yeah, I had him stuffed, and I just.
- 15:36Speaker 8: He's there sitting on the couch.
- 15:38Speaker 2: No, it is.
- 15:40Speaker 7: Her dog is her dog has been dead for like
- 15:43Speaker 7: a year. She had like had him stuff and just
- 15:47Speaker 7: sitting on her couch.
